Why is no one writing the very specific fic I have in my head? And no, I can’t do it myself because I am small and stupid and sleepy.

Team Magic magical misunderstanding AU, where-
What if the amulet hadn’t been blasted onto the beach at the end of the shadow war though. What if it’d fallen at Scrooges feet again, like it did on Vesuvius, but this time he locks it up in the other bin.
What if Webby still went to the library looking for clues about shadow magic only this time it was a fake Webby (nervous huey in disguise, luckily you’re not supposed to talk much at a library) meanwhile Louie was causing havoc at the manor so Webby and Dewy could try breaking into the other bin’s new security-
Webby wont STEAL the amulet she PROMISES she just wants to LOOK AT IT FOR CLUES-
she swaps it for a fake behind Dewy’s back as they leave.
(Bad enough if they ever get blamed for helping her into the other bin, she’s not going to get them mixed up in the dark and very forbidden magic she’s planning next.)
(she's not losing anyone else the way she lost-)
What if Violet didn’t find the amulet on the beach that day, what if she’d gone down there (again) to clean up beach litter (for a junior woodchuck badge) mostly in the form of empty bottles with messages stuffed inside of them (as usual)
but now she’s more interested in reading the newest anonymous notes (LENA'S notes...)
which have shifted from clearly fictitious pleas for help from stranded sailors, to what seems to be a series of personal entries written on pages ripped from someone’s diary,
they chronical a growing friendship undercut by a secret betrayal that is causing the writer much well-written and fascinating angst,
and Violet has been compiling into a scrap book
(Webby took Lena’s diary from the amphitheater, and she opens it sometimes to thumb sadly though the ripped out pages right after they met, wondering aloud what Lena might have written about her)
(trapped in Webby's shadow, knowing she won't hear, Lena tells her)
On the night of the shadow war Violet finds several message bottles all with hastily and poorly penned single words in them, such as “ECLipSE” “MAgIC” “TRAITOR”
and she’s puzzling over them when what appears to be literal shadowy hell breaks out over The Money Bin of Scrooge McDuck
Not everything is darkness though. Chased towards the sea while trying to escape malevolent semi-corporeal shadows, Violet falls in the surf, only to see something blue glowing just below the water
The object flashes when she picks it up and the shadows draw back. A moment later the light intensifies for one bright moment- causing the shadows to flee completely- as behind Violet there’s twin flash of blue light from the money bin- before going completely dark.
Magic is apparently real and capable of protection as well as evil shadow summoning.
It also comes in the form of a clearly homemade bracelet.
Violet puts it on and begins to investigate.
Later, unheard and unseen the endless night of the shadow realm, Lena is clutching her face and shrieking whenever Webby pulls out Magica’s amulet.
Her wild tries to grab the thing and throw it as far away from Webby as possible only activate it, though, and make Webby more determined to figure out how to use it.
If it banished Lena (ONLY banished, because she can't really be-) then it can bring her back, right?
Webby quickly (unfortunately) realizes that anger is the key to Magica’s powers, and Lena can only watch as Webby digs deeper and deeper into painful memories and thoughts, trying to summon more and more anger, determined to master the magic she thinks could bring Lena back.
(not like this. if getting out of the shadow realm comes at the cost of Webby yelling at herself for not noticing the signs of Lena’s situation sooner and BLAMING herself for it, then Lena doesn’t want to be saved)
(not that it matters, since Webby can’t hear her anyway)
Huey is still going to the library as Webby, now covering for her alone time fixing up Lena’s old hide out
(a healthy step in the grieving process, according the guide book) (Webby is using the amphitheater to practice magic unseen)
What if, while researching at the library this time, Violet meets a Webbigail Vanderquack who is plainly a fake.
What if Huey-as-Webby looks down and sees Lena’s friendship bracelet on the wrist of a girl reading up about shadow magic, and runs to Webby in a panic.
What if Webby (keyed into anger thanks to all her magic practice) jumps straight to luring in and attacking Violet, who is clearly Magica De Spell in disguise again,
and what if Violet, unaware that the treachery warned of in the notes has already happened, sees a fake Webbigail wielding the amulet of Magica De Spell and decides her duty as a junior woodchuck is to take action against this plot-
What if Webby unleashes Magica’s magic on Violet, only for Violet to chant a little rhyme...
and block the blast with Lena’s own friendship bracelet.
What if, as Webby stares in shock (then anger, then fury), Violet reveals she has unlocked the magic of the bracelet she found, and the key is in reading out passages and poems from the torn diary pages- specifically those parts that talk about the writer’s friendship with the girl she is about to betray.
What if hearing Violet recite Lena’s words makes it harder and harder for Webby to hold on the anger she needs to fight with Magica’s magic, making her attacks faulter even as Violet’s shields grow in strength.
Webby, frustrated, goes for a tackle. Violet dodges, sees Webby’s matching bracelet and (a quick study) revaluates the situation,
she realizes she is in fact fighting the girl that the author of the diary had been writing about this entire time.
What if Webby summons one last burst of rage to try taking out Magica-in-disguise (who is not Magica, actually, or in disguise) and finally yells the thing that’s been eating her all this time-
Lena only got to know her because of Magica’s plot- she never would have bothered with Webby otherwise- she’s cool and smart and been to Paris- and there was never any way for them to be friends WITHOUT Lena getting hurt
In answer to this, Violet calmly reads a note from the first bottle she ever found on the beach.
“Beagle B-Day. Met cool weirdo & finally having fun. Taking the day OFF. Get rekt aunt M!”
Webby’s anger breaks.
Magica’s magic fades out.
And Webby’s friendship bracelet lights up for the very first time since the shadow war.
“It is my opinion,” Violet says cautiously. “That regardless of what your fears might say, the person who wrote this has always been your friend.”
Webby is crying.
Lena, unfelt, wraps her arms around Webby and glares at Magica’s dropped amulet.
“It is also my opinion that the ectoplasmic activity exhibited by the ‘friendship bracelets’ you both wore is a positive sign that she still exists in some form or another, along with the magical bond between you two.”
"W-what?" Webby sniffles.
"Your theory was correct. She is not gone." Kneeling down, Violet pats Webby on the shoulder. “And using that bond, I intend to help you get her back.”
In the shadow realm, Lena’s beak drops open.
“Really...?” Webby whispers, then frowns suspiciously. “Why?”
(magica had used lena and thrown her away like she was nothing- had SAID she was nothing- and magica hadn't needed her magic for that. if she was using someone again, using lena again as bait...)
but Violet isn't even looking at the amulet.
“I have difficulties in developing interpersonal relationships with non-familial partners.”
Violet admits, holds up her scrap book of Lena’s notes.
“Reading these entries is the closest I have come to replicating the experience of having a friendship with someone other than my fathers, specifically someone within my own peer group. I sympathized with the author’s struggles to recognize and accept her own feelings… In fact, I believe those feelings of camaraderie are the true reason as to why I was able to access the bracelet’s magical powers. The quotes and recitations were merely a memory aid, used to trigger the required emotions of fondness, trust, shared pain, and admiration.”
Shadow Lena turns to Webby. What.
Webby is tearing up again. “You don’t have any friends? And, reading Lena’s diary made you feel less lonely, like maybe she was your friend?”
Ohhh. Shadow Lena looks back at Violet. Oh…
Violet tilts her head. “Who is Lena?”
“The girl who wrote all those messages." Webby is hugging her bracelet to her chest now. "...My best friend.”
“Ah." Looking down at her own bracelet, Lena's bracelet, Violet nods. "Then yes.”
Both bracelets start to glow again softly.
Nether of the girls notice Webby’s shadow stretching out on the ground behind them as it merges silently with Violet’s.
“Or to be more precise," Violet continues, "I feel as though I would like to be friends with her, if possible. And with you.”
“Okay,” Webby scrubs her face dry and smiles for the first time all episode. “..okay. You’ve got your very first non-family friend. One down, one to go! Let’s do this-! Um… what was your name again?”
“Violet Apollonia Sabrewing.”
“Violet! Hi, I’m Webby!”
“Yes, Lena’s diary did mention your name a time or fifty.”
Shadow realm Lena glowers, face pink. It's not like I had anything better to write about! Complaining about being enslaved by my evil aunt gets OLD, okay??
Oblivious, Webby front-flips to her feet and snatches Magica's amulet and holds it aloft.
“Now that we BOTH have a friend to do forbidden stuff with, anything’s possible! Let’s get magical!”
“At the library?”
“AT THE LIBRARY!!!”
Oh great, Lena groans from their shadows, more magic. And now there’s TWO of them.
As boring as nerd stuff is though, she still sits with them in the shadow version of the library anyway, hanging out with her friends who don’t even know she is there.
Not yet, anyway.
And so, in another world, Team Magic is formed.

Since I’ve never acknowledged them all in one space before, I thought I’d share some fan art from my fan fics.
This was commissioned by my editor from my friend as a scene from “The Duck Knight in Duckburg”, one of the first stories I wrote with feedback from an editor, and possibly the first story on fanfiction.net that had Drake Mallard and Donald Duck hang out and talk about their kids. I did age up the triplets to give Launchpad time to finish his Duck Tales with the 1987 gang and still build the Thunderquack for Darkwing Duck. I would write this story differently now if I had the attention span for it, but my duck muse has been sadly absent since I started “A Hero’s Ultimatum” over ten years ago.
This one is paraphrased slightly but it’s a comic of one of my other fanfics, “The Best Present Ever.” The idea was suggested to me in a comment on one of my fics and I shared the story with the commenter and became friends with them! That was my first foray into online forums, role-playing rpg stories, and meeting other like-minded people, and I will forever be grateful for the experience! I was really tickled when an artist contacted me about drawing my story later. I can only imagine how much work this took!
And this one is not a scene from my stories, but it was inspired by them. 😆 https://www.deviantart.com/xanadu7/art/Scrooge-McDuck-vs-Darkwing-Duck-Conclusion-334720135 I fully agree with the outcome.

Flufftober — Day 08: Cooking / Baking them Together.
Pairing: Max Goof / Yakko Warner.
Fandoms: Animaniacs, A Goofy Movie (Disney), Ducktales (Disney).
Word Count: 524.
Versión Español: https://archiveofourown.org/works/50488909/chapters/128255440
Tumblr media
One of the many times Max spent the day at the water tower with Yakko and his siblings, they planned to make brownie cookies together.
This was something they both liked to do together. Whether it was baking or cooking. They were both very skilled in the kitchen, in their own way and for their own reasons.
Yakko was the type to create chaos in the kitchen and thanks to family luck, Max knew how to navigate total chaos without breaking a sweat.
It was an activity the two of them could do together and have fun in the process. So every once in a while they would get a recipe that caught their attention, get the ingredients, and take turns between the Warners' kitchen or Max's apartment.
This particular time, there were other guests besides Yakko's sibs.
“So, there are Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo and Michelangelo. They live in the sewers with their father-sensei, who is a wererat.”
"Sewers?"
“Iugh, and we complain about the water tower.”
“They make it look pretty cool!”
“As cool as a sewer can be…”
Max laughed softly, his hands sifting flour as he watched from the corner of his eye as Dewey told Wakko about TMNT with his brothers and Warner's little sister across the counter.
He had thought they would be asking things like if they could help or how long it would take to make the cookies (he knew from experience that Wakko was waiting for the slightest opportunity to steal anything to eat it or ask for the mixing spoon) and sooner or later he would have to send them away to the living room. (Max could multitask, but not when it came to talking and using hand-eye coordination), but as soon as they all sat down together, Dewey asked Wakko what his favorite ninja turtle was and when Wakko replied that he didn't know what that was, Dewey set out to explain the entire plot from the basics.
The other three children got involved in the conversation quite quickly, between occasional comments and curious questions.
This gave him room to steal kisses from Yakko between preparation steps and created a comforting background noise that he would occasionally catch bits of the conversation from and always make him laugh.
By the time the cookies were all in the oven, Dewey had somehow moved on to the Ninja Turtles, to Sonic The Hedgehog, and was currently explaining the Sonic and Shadow arc.
“That sounds like a great enemies to lovers.” he heard Dot say.
“Actually, it is a rivals to lovers.” He answered himself, smiling as he cleaned the inn and Yakko put away the leftover ingredients.
“What would we be?” Yakko asked from behind him.
Max considered it for a moment. “Friends to lovers, probably.”
“Not as interesting as enemies,” Dot said haughtily.
"I agree." Max nodded wisely. He placed the rag in the corner of the sink just as Yakko came over to kiss him on the cheek.
At that moment, Wakko's stomach growled, he looked at his belly with a frown and then at Yakko and Max. “How much longer until we eat?”

Sick As A Duck {@sicktember}
AO3 l!nk in comments
Ships: Della & Donald & Fethry & Gladstone
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Description: When Fethry falls ill at Grandma’s farm, the cousins make it their job to help him feel better!
{Sicktember 2022 Day 18: Nausea / Upset Stomach}
Fethry’s number one plan was to not throw up. He thought that was a pretty good plan, if he was honest. In fact he liked that plan a whole lot. Now if he could just convince his stomach of that plan he would be golden. Unfortunately, he wasn’t sure how well that was going to work.
He was curled up on Grandma Duck’s couch, holding his stomach and periodically giving out soft groans of discomfort. His cousins were outside helping their Grandparents with work that Fethry was also supposed to be helping with. Unfortunately, he’d somehow caught some kind of bug that was currently making him feel more nauseous than he thought possible.
Around noon he finally heard the call of, “Alright kids! Lunch!”
Gus was the first to practically barrel through the house and to the kitchen. Soon after followed by Grandma Duck, Gladstone, Donald, and Della.
Grandma paused before the couch and gave Fethry a concerned look. “Are you still feelin’ bad, Sweetpea?”
Fethry gave a sad nod.
The elder duck placed her hand on Fethry’s forehead and felt across it and down his cheek. “Well, at least you ain’t got a fever. I guess I could call your Pa to come and getcha early-“
“No!” Fethry interrupted her. “I-I’m sure I’ll be okay in a bit.”
Grandma raised a brow at that. Instead of trying to argue it, she just walked towards the kitchen to start making lunch and called out, “Alright but you start feelin’ worse y’all better tell me.”
Fethry breathed out a sigh of relief as he felt the couch suddenly dip under Della’s weight.
“If you’re sick, shouldn’t you go home?” questioned Donald.
Fethry shook his head. “I can’t. If dad comes and picks me up, he’s gonna take Abner too. Abner likes it here too much. I can’t ruin that.”
“Aww, Feathers,” Della cooed out. “You’re too nice.” Her face then lit up with an idea. “Say! Why don’t we take care of ya!”
“What?” Donald hissed out.
“Yeah! That way you’ll have company too!”
Gladstone made a face at that. “But what if whatever he has is contagious?”
“Aw please,” Della scoffed. “A lucky duck like you isn’t gonna catch nothin’! ‘Sides, would you rather be in here with us or out there, workin’ with Gus ‘n’ Abner.”
Gladstone frowned in thought but ultimately didn’t return another argument.
“I’m gonna go find somethin’ in the kitchen to help,” Della explained. “You boys, go get some herbs out the garden!” She then pushed herself off the couch and scampered off.
Donald and Gladstone both ran off towards the garden. They both rummaged through the potted herbs that lined the windows of the house. Donald reached into one to pull out ginger as Gladstone pulled out a handful of mint.
“Why would you grab ginger?” Gladstone asked the other with a raised brow. ”Mint is obviously the one you should go with for nausea.”
Donald frowned at him. “My parents always give us ginger ale when we’re sick. So, obviously ginger would work best.” He crossed his arms with a huff. “What’s mint supposed to do? Make his breath smell fresher? You might as well just give him gum.”
Gladstone scoffed. “Mint is fresh and clean and perfect for an easy home remedy.”
“Yeah well, well…” Donald frowned, gripping his ginger before yelling out, “Ginger is cooler! Shut up!”
“You boys know just about any strong herb can help with nausea, right?” Grandma questioned as she walked out to their yelling.
Both young ducks looked over at her in surprise before watching her and Gus walk back out to the barn. They looked to each other before yelling “first one to Fethry wins!” And running off.
Back inside, Della had just walked back from the kitchen with a bag of her own to see the other two running in, shoving each other as they went.
“What is wrong with you two,” she hissed out at them.
Fethry looked down at the three and gave a weak little smile. “What are those?”
“I got mint,” Gladstone explained, “because it’s good for sick stomachs and tastes much better than ginger.”
“Yeah well, I got ginger,” Donald explained, shooting a glare at Gladstone, “‘cause Gladstone is stupid and anything he picks is probably dumb.”
“What?!”
“Guys,” Della hissed at them before they could start fighting. She gave a sigh and lifted up her bag to Fethry. “I grabbed some crackers. I think bread is supposed to help some, right?”
The youngest cousin gave them all a soft smile. “Thank you guys but, um, I think if I put anything in my mouth right now I really will be sick.”
The three looked down at their respective items then to each other.
Donald sighed and threw the cloves of ginger behind his shoulder to discard them. “Now what?”
”Well,” Della started as he walked back into the kitchen to put up the crackers. “There are other ways to help.” She came back out with a wet rag and hopped up onto the couch next to Fethry. She gently placed it to the back of his neck and held it against him. “This always works on Donald.”
The duck in question blushed at the comment. He crawled up onto the couch with them to sit.
“I think there’s also a pressure point in the wrist,” Gladstone said as he climbed up as well. “I remember Aunt Matilda told me about it once.” He took Fethry’s arm and started to massage his wrist. “Right here I think.”
“That’s so cool,” Fethry cooed quietly. It wasn’t long before the comfort lulled him to sleep. His cousins falling soon after alongside him.
By the time Grandma Duck came back in she smiled at the sight. It was nice to know the kids had each other. She hoped this closeness lasted as long as possible.

Why is this person arguing about my characterizations in the comments of my latest fic???
I'm an adult with a full-time job and a desire to watch new-to-me shows that outweighs my desire to watch reruns of what I've already watched. As much as I love DuckTales, I don't tend to go back and rewatch episodes after I've seen them.  Maybe I should have rewatched this particular episode in order to write this fic.  But also...it's fan fiction.  There is no "should" in fan fiction.  There is only "do what you want and have fun with it."  And I did!  I did do what I wanted and had fun with it!  (and honestly, these characters don't have very much screen time after this particular episode, so do they actually change in the ways that the episode promises?  WHO KNOWS!  My opinion is that they don't change to the extent that this person is arguing, which is why I wrote them this way).
Maybe my characterization is wildly off-base and that's why my fic is getting so little engagement.*  But I don't understand what this person expects me to do about it.  I'm not going to go in and change the details that they, personally, don't like.  I'm still proud of this fic and I like it the way it is.
I guess my options are a) continue arguing "my side" (lol not gonna do that); b) delete their comment and block them (can you even block people on AO3?) without another word; b) write back that this is fan fiction and that it's not going to be perfect and that if they're looking for perfection they should stick to official Disney novelizations/comics; or c) ...some third thing.  Either way, I'm going to wait until I haven't just woken up to figure it out.
*I think it's more likely that DuckTales ended a year ago and the fandom is fading.  Either that or I picked an unpopular character...or maybe I posted it at the wrong time.  Or maybe the fic really is bad.  Idk.

I want to start a rewrite of TLOTTC with a bit of pre canon ducktales element, like I saw a few fics elements of the tlottc where the whole caballeros things happens before Donald has to take care of the eggs and I give you : What if it was after.
Della disapeared leaving him to take care of the eggs + he had a fight with Uncle Scrooge leaving him truly alone to raise children
First go round he's living in a house juggling jobs after jobs and he's having a hard time because kids are hard? Daisy's also asking a lot from him(Im not a fan of daisy soooo) and he tries his best, he really does but it's not really enough and it all goes down bad on his birthday since Daisy makes a surprise visit and now he has to go get her at a shady place, plus his boss' screaming down at him and bref the plot goes like in canon with the added bonus of the triplets and when the house burn down and Daisy broke up with him He has a huge meltdown so when the letter comes he's relieved maybe the situation will goes up now etc
He's less optimistic when he sees the state of the cabana (is that what they call it ? I started watching when babysitting and wasn't fully focused on it plus I watched the FR version) and when he mets José and Panchito both being also in on the inheritance he feels all the optimism leave him because no way can all three (well six) of them can find an agreement when they are all completely broke.
April May and June are wonderful babysitters
Xandra and Ari are NOT
They NEVER takes the kids on any adventures (they may or may not be aware of the adventures depending on how old they are)
José and Panchito co parenting the triplets is doing something to my 'found family' soul alright?
Panchito and José taking turns with the triplets (in baby case) when they get fuzzy at night after seeing how exhausted Donalds gets (even more so when he once fell asleep in the middle of a fight)
just the regular life of three legendary adventurer raising three (or six and more depending who you including in there) children while fighting evil
Donald not trying that much to get back with Daisy because he doesn't have time for that plus José and Panchito are being reaaaaaaaaaaaaally nice uk .... And Daisy didn't really like that
nothing in the plot changes besides that the three caballeros are raising three to six ducking together and acting like they've been married for years before that
I don't even know if I prefer them being eggs at first and then hatching or if they already hatched but just barely so.

Flufftober — Day 06: Only One Bed.
Pairing: Max Goof / Yakko Warner.
Fandoms: Animaniacs, A Goofy Movie (Disney), Ducktales 2017 (Disney).
Word Count: 1087.
Versión Español: https://archiveofourown.org/works/50488909/chapters/127909900
Tumblr media
When Max came on the ship on a weekend adventure and found out that he would have to share a bed with Yakko, he actually tried not to show how excited he was.
Now that he was lying on his side, with his back towards Yakko and trying to get as far away from him as possible without falling off the bed, he felt stupid.
Unable to sleep due to the anxiety of not knowing what tomorrow would be like, Max stared at the wall as memories of today replayed in his mind again.
It all started out pretty well, they arrived at the island before lunch, but the journey through the jungle to the hidden temple took all day as they expected, so once they got back to the ship, they had dinner and everyone went to bed. Donald and Scrooge would take turns taking the ship to the next point, where the other half of the treasure was supposed to be.
The problem occurred during the expedition, his uncle and great-uncle had stayed on the boat, saying that they would do this part of the adventure alone, a practice for when they grew up. Max knew that was part of the reason they invited him and let him bring the Warners, Donald trusted his nephews, but there was no way he could stop worrying, so, unofficially, Max was babysitting, with Yakko as his support. Furthermore, Max was very sure that his uncle had the supernatural strength and “magical” abilities of the Warners to face any obstacle that was too deadly.
Max was happy to go on an adventure with his family and his boyfriend's family, which is why he forgot how reckless Yakko could be sometimes.
So, when he deliberately started doing risky things and teasing while ignoring Max's warnings, it soon brought him to a breaking point where he ended up yelling at him in front of the group. He regretted it as soon as the words left his mouth, and was relieved that his outburst occurred when they were returning to the ship with half the treasure and the riddle that would take them to the second island in Huey's hands.
Dinner somehow ended decently thanks to all the kids who filled the silence with stories of their day (they were smart and left out the parts that would make Donald's blood pressure rise). Yakko participated in several parts, but Max remained silent. He lied that he was exhausted, while his mind raced frantically with thoughts with no beginning or end that ranged from how angry he was at Yakko to the guilt he felt in the pit of his stomach for the way he spoke to him.
Around 9 pm everyone went to their rooms, Max and Yakko changed in silence and without looking at each other they got into bed with their backs to each other. It took Max about an hour to fall asleep.
Max woke up with a start, gasping, his body shuddering under the covers. It took him a couple of minutes to calm his frantic heartbeat, with long, slow breaths, he concentrated on the sound of the waves breaking on the shore and the almost imperceptible rocking of the ship until his heartbeat returned to a normal rhythm and his claws loosened from the sleeves of his shirt.
“Maxy?” Yakko's voice was barely a whisper, but in the silent room it still made Max tense.
“Would you like a truce for a hug?” The tone was only soft this time, unsure, as if Yakko wasn't sure if he would be yelled at again or if Max had fallen asleep again, he didn't want to wake him.
Despite his better judgment, Max barely hesitated before whispering back. "I would like to…"
Silently, they both turned under the covers. Yakko crawled closer to him and Max met him halfway, opening his arms so that Yakko could settle with his nose buried in Max's shirt, while Max wrapped his arms around him and held him, resting his chin on the top of his head. Of Yakko between his ears.
The effect was instantaneous, Yakko's warmth relaxing his muscles almost instantly. The scent of lavender and ink on his nose.
“Did you have a nightmare?”
Of course, he noticed. Max didn't bother to lie. “Yes, but it doesn't matter anymore.” Yakko stirred, and his hands tightened on Max's back. “Seriously, I don't even remember it anymore.”
"Sure? I wouldn’t mind listening.”
Max couldn't help but smile. His tail moved behind him in a single lazy sweep. “It was there when I opened my eyes, but it vanished in an instant. I just- I just remember being anxious and scared for someone.”
Once again silence surrounded them, Max felt his eyes begin to close more and more, when Yakko spoke again.
“I'm sorry about today.” He sounded shy, something unusual for Yakko Warner.
"Alright. I’m sorry for yelling at you.”
"No, it's not okay." Yakko responded, instantly moving and raising his head to look at Max's face. “I put your family in danger and ignored you when you tried to tell me nicely. Sometimes I forget that not everyone is as resilient as my sibs and I… But that's not an excuse either, I know I wouldn't like it if someone put Wakko and Dot in danger and ignored me about it. I promise not to do it again."
“…thank you” he blinked a few times to get rid of the sleep that was clinging to his eyelids. He looked at Yakko and gave him a small smile.
Yakko smiled back, clearly more awake than Max. He settled back into Max's chest, and once again rested his chin on the top of Yakko's head when he said, "for nothing."
His voice had become slurred with sleep as he said. “And you don't have to change what you do, I wouldn't bring you in if I thought you might hurt them. I’ll just ask you to listen to me first.”
Hecould feel Yakko's smile, as well as the purrs in his chest. “Of course, HoneyKnees.”
With the last of his consciousness, Max murmured, “okay…” and fell asleep.
The next morning, they had breakfast together with the others, and although the table was big enough, they both stood so close that their shoulders were touching and their knees were knocking.
Later, they passed through the underground ruins in record time.
