I wanna talk about how much I love my dad for a minute. So there’s a long tangent about him under the cut.

I did not intend on him going to my ghost concert, but he went and I was terrified. My parents are both religious, but my dad doesn’t mind. He was into that stuff as a kid, so he understands. He liked the concert, and really like Amon Amarth.

I was in section 205 with my friend, and he was in section 305. After the concert, he unwrapped his shirt (he got an Amon Amarth shirt and vinyl) and said “Papa just wanted me to tell you not to spend it all at once,” and a massive stack of confetti and Mummy Dust money sat on top of the vinyl. Me and my friend weren’t expecting to get anything because of how far back we were.

Around Mary On A Cross, my dad managed to make his way into the sound booth, then up to the front after bows to grab the confetti and money.

Today is my birthday. One thing I really wanted was Copia’s baseball jersey, but neither of us could find it anywhere (unless they sold it for a million bucks), so he goes online to the White Sox store, and custom made me a Copia jersey.

He also got me both Plushia’s. He had to get one shipped from the UK store, and the other, he had notifications on for when it came back in stock. He told me the second that notification popped up on his phone, he bought it immediately.

He also intended to get me a cake with the new Papa + Ghouls photo where they’re all lined up and Copia has his red jacket. It was supposed to say “Happy 19th Ghoul-day!” but it didn’t end up being ready in time, so he improvised by cutting out a photo he printed and sticking it to a store bought chocolate cake (which is exactly what I wanted). And he made sure the ‘19’ candles were orange (my favorite color). 😭

I just want that man to know how much I appreciate him. I talk a lot about how much he can annoy me, but he has always been there for me, and I know he cares. Materialistic stuff aside, I know he cares. I just love him so much.

Y'know how sometimes a girl has a dream that her boyfriend cheats on her and she gets mad at him in real life? Well I just woke up from a very opposite dream that reminded me how great my dad is.

I was back in high school with two friends that weren't a very good influence. I had just dialed my dad and they wanted me to go somewhere with them but I was declining because I just wanted to go home and sleep. They started calling me some really awful things and tried to get me into the car and I was getting upset, and then my dad pulled up and told me to get in the truck and told my "friends" that no is a complete sentence, that I shouldn't have to provide a reason for not wanting to do something, that they should take no for an answer the first time it's given, and that only shitty friends respond to a declined invitation with insults and attempted kidnapping.

The first thing I did when I saw my dad this morning was give him a huge hug because that dream was so realistic I thought it really happened. And I know that had I ever been in a situation like that, or if I ever am in the future, my dad will always come get me if I'm uncomfortable. My dad is the most supportive dad in the world and I thank God (and my mom) all the time for choosing this man to be my dad ☺️🥰

now he has a belly, soft and huggable

his kids favourite thing is sleeping on top of him, he’s warm and comfortable

he doesn’t care about shaving every other day anymore

going a few days and maybe a week with a stubble

sometimes you catch him looking at himself for a bit too long in the mirror after shower, he rubs his soft belly and grabs his sides

you don’t want to make him self aware so you carefully snicker behind him, wrapping your arms around his soft torso and kissing his shoulder blades

“come on daddy, why don’t you put those guns to a good use” you whisper on your tiptoes running a hand on his arm

“sure thing, mama” he picks you up so easily it never fails to amaze you how strong he is after all those years

sometimes he’ll carry a seven year old megumi (which’s already too heavy for you) in his bicep while doing other things around the house like he’s nothing

the extra weight he gained over the years shows up especially when he uses his old sweat pants, he doesn’t seem to realize how it hugs his ass so perfectly

he also doesn’t understand why his crotch feels so tight so he keeps pulling the material of his pants

“doll did you put those in the dryer? i think it has shrunken” he says looking down while you sip your coffee paying good attention to his perfect butt

his thighs are not immune to his growth either, they are not as muscular as they were when he used to workout but oh boy you can spend a ridiculous amount of time starting at them when he sits down, legs spread in his old basketball shorts

when he brings his friends over for a barbecue in his yard you bet he’s gonna pull you to sit on his lap at some point (or several) during the day

there’s no better feeling for him then sipping his cold beer while rubbing his loved one legs and watching his kids playing at the playground he build himself

I adore making and gifting things, but nothing bums me out quicker than a person who passively just goes "okay," to my ideas about what I'm making them - it can send the message that they won't like it, or that they don't care, even if they're happy about my offering. The back-and-forth feedback is a great way to make sure that you are being gifted something that was truly worth the time, effort, expertise, and money that will inevitably go into the gift!

I know it's really hard to be an active participant, believe me, I'm an anxious ball of horror, but it will only do good for both parties to interact in this situation. It is a big deal to be offered a hand-crafted gift, but it's also something we want you to love and use, and that can only happen if you tell us what would make you fall in love with what we create.
