Power Outage

☆ of course there had to be a power outage on the night of a thunderstorm.

☆ you were still fairly new to this job and adjusting to living in the compound.

☆ you had a deathly fear of the dark and thunderstorms. so it was just your luck, when the lights began to flicker as you were wrapped up in your blanket, reading a book.

☆ you let out a yell in fear, coincidently, a roar of thunder occurred. you cried out, burying your head under your covers.

☆ that was thing about you, even when you were younger you had this fear. your brother had to bring you to his bed to comfort you. as you refused to sleep alone, petrified of the loud noises.

☆ your thoughts would run wild, imagining the worse cases. what if the thunder hit you? what if your brother got hurt and you were fine?

☆ your brother would stay up with you until it was over. those nights consisted of late night scrabble games in his room, him making you hot chocolate, him "letting" you win..God you missed that .

☆ you were shaking under your covers when suddenly, the door opened. "Hun, are you okay? I heard screams-" Nat paused, seeing a shaking figure under your blanket. Of course Natasha heard you, her room is right next to yours.

☆ no response. Nat came over to you and pulled you into her arms. "Shh..it's okay detka, m' here." She mumbled, holding you.

☆ she didn't pull thr covers off of your head. Letting you determine the pace of bow you wanted this to go.

☆ after a moment of her shushing and comforting you, you finally let the covers off. "Now there's that pretty face I love to see." She smiled, wiping your tears.

☆ "N-natty" you whimpered. Her heart nearly melted at the nickname. You never called her that, but your voice sounded so shaky it brought a frown.

☆ "what's wrong, honey?" She frowned, tracing circles on the back of your palm.

☆ you pouted "m' scared", tightening your grip on the older woman. her eyes soften, "i'm right here dear, i'll protect you. do you want to stay in my room with me? it's nice and warm in there. you can bring your blanket if you want" she smiled at you.

☆ you nodded in response, clutching your blanket in your arms. the spy lifted you up, you squealed in response. most definitely not expecting that.

☆ "n-natty what are you doing??" you giggled. she smiled, seeing you laugh "just protecting you, dear! there might be monsters on the floor! don't want them to snatch your feet!!" she exclaimed, carrying you to her room.

Bedtime Troubles

Mommy!natasha romanoff x fem!little!reader

Warnings: age regression, reader having a attitude

“Come on y/n…put up your toys. It’s time for bed.” Natasha said sternly as she’s been trying to get you to pick up your toys and go to bed. It was no use, you didn’t want to stop playing with your toys, you didn’t want to go to bed just yet.

“Nu! Nu wan to go to beds!” You whined out as you didn’t want to stop playing with your toys just yet. Natasha gave you a stern look and you hugged loudly and threw your toys back in your toy chest and angrily stomped out of the room and went into the bathroom.

You slammed it shut and locked yourself in there while your mommy was shocked at your anger y behavior. “Y/n sweetie. You know we don’t slam and lock doors. Why don’t you come out and we can talk baby.” Natasha said calmly through the door. “Nu!” You yelled out and Natasha pinched the bridge of her nose, getting frustrated.

“Come on princess. Let mommy help you. If you go ahead and come out, I won’t punish you for slamming the door and locking it.” She stated sternly. After a few moments you unlocked the door and slowly opened it, peeking your head out to see your worried but frustrated looking mommy.

You felt bad for how you acted but in your mind you had a reason to. Natasha went over and picked you up in her arms and headed towards y’all’s shared bedroom. She sat you down on the bed and kneeled in front of you, putting her hands on your knees. “Why don’t you want to go to bed little spider.” Natasha asked you softly as she gives you a loving look.

You looked down ashamed and started playing with your hands and your mommy gently takes them in hers and rubs them softly. “It’s okay babygirl. You can always talk to mommy.” She reassured you and you nodded. “I Nu like da dark…” you said quietly but Natasha heard it.

“You don’t like the dark angel?” She repeated and asked you to make sure she understood what you said. “Nu wike it…it’s scarys.” You explained and she nodded. “I understand that baby and you are in luck because I thought you may like this.” She said and you looked up at her confused until she went into the closet and a pulled out a nightlight that has your favorite cartoon show on it.

You gasped and smiled big at the sight of it. “I wuv it! Tank chu mommy!” You said happily as you run up to her and give her a big tight hug. She smiles and hugs you back just as tight. “You’re welcome love bug. Now, let’s get you tucked into bed and see how this light works.” She explained and you nodded your head exitedly.

She helped you put your pjs on and watched you brush your teeth. She then picked you up and tucked you into the bed and got your new night light and put it on the wall near your side of the bed and it shone bright on the ceiling. You gasped in amazement and continued to watch up at the ceiling.

Natasha did her own nightly routine and joined you in the bed and saw how happy and calm you were. She smiled to herself and watched you drift off to sleep, knowing that you still may be scared of the dark but at long as she was here, she would never let anything happen to you. Her little spider.

-You were new to the building. Steve hired you to listen in on their meetings and take notes.

-After one of many arguments of who said what, Steve finally caved. He agreed to get someone who they vetted well to keep track.

-Now it was quite obvious you were younger than the old agents but it didn't stop the Russian spy from stealing glances at you.

-You'd be in the kitchen making coffee and turn around to the red-head inches away from you.

-Startled, you jump, nearly clashing into her. "Sorry dear, didn't mean to scare ya" she hummed, catching you in her arms.

-"O-oh, it's okay Miss Romanov, I really should be getting back to my work." You rush out of the room. Why was she everywhere you went? You could swear she was following you. But she won't do that...Would she?

-Later that day, Steve called an emergency meeting. Something about their enemies plotting a heist and they needed to stop that.

-You took your usual spot next to Steve, across from Natasha. You put your computer down on the table.

-"Alright, now that we have everyone.." Steve babbled on. You were just focused on typing. Documenting everything that was said.

-Steve stops talking for a second. You look up, Steve says "We will have Nat go in, she is the best lookin and our only chance at distracting the guard."

-You looked at Nat with doe eyes. Could Steve really do this? Why was Nat always the one who had to do their dirty work? Seducing the gross older men.

-Nat met your eyes and gave you a wink. Upon seeing your frown, she gives you a comforting smile. But you go back to your duty of typing.

-After the meeting is over, everyone has left. Well, except you and Nat. You were still typing but you're about done now. As you're getting up to leave, Nat grabs your arm.

-"Wait." She said, looking at you. You turn around, confused because Miss Romanov never makes you stay back. Did you do something wrong?

-Nat could sense your anxiety and sees you fidgeting nervously with your hoodie string. "Don't worry. You're not in trouble hun. Just wanted to make sure you're okay. You seemed upset in the meeting?" Nat question.

-You sighed "Miss Roman-" "Call me Natasha" the spy cut you off. "Natasha, it's wrong for them to treat you like this. Like- like you're just a pretty woman they can use to distract creepy men who can't keep it in their pants." You pouted, holding her hand.

-"Pretty? You think I'm pretty hm?" She teased. You were still frowning. She sighed, realizing this is what was bothering you before.

- "Okay, detka. I'll be honest with you. In this field of work, unfortunately most people will want you on missions just because youre a woman. I do lose a bunch of opportunities because of my gender but if I can help the planet then I think it's worth it." she says in a more serious tone.

-Softening her gaze when you ask her why she doesn't just quit. "It's not that simple, love." She sighed, wiping a stray tear that escaped your eye.

-You don't register you're crying until the older woman pulls you in. Embracing her warmth, she holds you close and strokes your hair. She closes her eyes, trying to remember this moment.

-That you are real and you care about her.
