Were you someone who was or is fond of reading books, growing up ? Because you're so excellent at writing. Like, nowadays its so difficult to find any book with half the narrative structure or interest your writing has. Feels like you were someone who liked hunger games at some point.
no yeah you read me and my preteen hunger games obsession like a book T-T admittedly tho, i am kind of currently in a reading slump not for lack of trying, but just because,,, i feel like a lot of recent horror/thriller/mystery stuff has been kind of preachy, lately? idk how to explain it, but i feel like darker genres feel the need to come with some greater life lesson they can serve up to the reader on a silver platter within the first hundred pages which very much goes against my 'tell your silly little story and i'll decide how it's changed me as a person later' mentality to fiction. i will resist the temptation and forgo posting a detailed list of all the books that have been added to my DNF list in the past month and their many issues but know that it is exhaustive.

(SPOILERS FOR THE LAND OF STORIES) okay so sorta outing myself as a Land Of Stories fan, but who cares the it’s a great book series. So we all know the potion that can make any work of fiction real, and this potion worked on greek mythology. Greek mythology isn’t collectively seen as fiction though, majority does, but accent Greeks, and some people nowadays, see it as real. This is the same as the bible. Not everyone sees it at nonfiction, some see it as completely fiction. Would the potion work on the bible???? Could have the masked man got fucking God on his side???

People will dismiss the importance of interpreting the Constitution because “maybe we shouldn’t care what a bunch of racist sexist slaveowners would have thought 200 years ago”
But bring up one passage from a holy book that hasn’t aged well and people will trip all over themselves to say “well, actually, in this translation, and if you use this interpretation, and if you listen to this crackpot theory that no theologian takes seriously but that I’m going to present as established and widely accepted, then -” instead of just following through on “maybe we shouldn’t care what a bunch of racist sexist slaveowners would have thought 2000 years ago”

I made a deal with the devil.
The deal was very simple, I could ask whatever questions I wanted and he would answer honestly, and in return he could ask me.
Which confused me.. what could the devil want to know about us?
So I started “is heaven real?” I ask.
“Yes.” He responded. “As real as hell.” His voice sounded like the dying embers from a chimney.
“Who will go to heaven?” I continued.
“Well.. whoever God wants to have.”
“Could you be more specific?” I tried asking, but it wasn’t my turn.
And so he asked “how does fear feel like?”. A little bit confused I tried explaining how the emotion felt like. My explanation was vague, but he seemed satisfied with my response.
“Why do you want to know that?” I ask.
“When god made me, he limited my ability to feel fear. In fact, I can’t feel a lot of things..”
“What is it that you can feel?”
“Pain.” He spoke.
Knowing time was running out, I refocused the conversation. “Could you be more specific on my question about heaven?”
“Heaven is open to all of gods creations, with no expectations.” He responded.
“So in that case, you too can go to heaven. Since you are one of his creations. Right?”
“I could,” he answered “but I won’t.”
“Why not?”
“Because I made the mistake of doing what only god should do.” After thinking about his response for a few seconds I asked “are you talking about ‘creation’?”
“My attempt didn’t go as planned” he told me. “I created my angels in my image and likeness. God chained their souls to hell for all of eternity.”
“Your angels.. their the demons?”
“I guess so. Plus, I couldn’t go to heaven without my angels. For they would be suffering. That’s why I chose that when the moment came, I would be in hell with them. Suffering by their side.”
“But why would you do that!?” I asked confused.
“Because I love them.”
My face softens. “Well.. everyone will be excited to know the good news!”
“And what news will that be?” He asked.
“That no matter what we have done, we’re still going to heaven!”
“But you cant..” he said with irony “none of you can.” My voice became shaky and I asked “all of gods creations will go to heaven, with out exception. Wasn’t that what you said?”
“Yes.” He responded with sadness “it’s what I said.”
“Then I dont understand..” he looked at me with sadness and explained with a heartbreaking tone “it’s because none of you are gods creations.” He paused “you’re mine.”

Judging Others
1 ‘Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. 2 For with the judgement you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. 3 Why do you see the speck in your neighbour’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your neighbour, “Let me take the speck out of your eye”, while the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbour’s eye.
Profaning the Holy
6 ‘Do not give what is holy to dogs; and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under foot and turn and maul you.
Ask, Search, Knock
7 ‘Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread, will give a stone? 10 Or if the child asks for a fish, will give a snake? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
The Golden Rule
12 ‘In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets.
The Narrow Gate
13 ‘Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. 14 For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
A Tree and Its Fruit
15 ‘Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? 17 In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will know them by their fruits.
Concerning Self-Deception
21 ‘Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord”, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only one who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?” 23 Then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.”
Hearers and Doers
24 ‘Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. 25 The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great was its fall!’
28 Now when Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were astounded at his teaching, 29 for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
