My last year of undergrad is coming up! Oh boy! I sure hope my anxiety about the Rapture happening before I graduate doesn't come back up like it did my senior year of high school!

Did anyone else’s families try to gaslight you into thinking that the rapture happened, and they went to heaven but you got left behind and abandoned by god?

#my family never did this to me but I've heard about it even before starting this blog #my dad is fortunately not cruel like most of my family #sure there's plenty here that did tho #I was told constantly it was about to happen tho and probably before I became an adult

Pointing out that the Rapture as a concept is a little less than two hundred years old - it's originally from the 1833 - that really buries the lede on how recent it is. Bc the modern evangelical take on the Rapture is from a book published in 1970. That predicted the Rapture would happen no later than 1988.
