Well, i was thinking about Lizzie and Yn are together and they went to an event.

Normally, Yn is a bit scared about it, her ex girlfriend wasn't the best person to be around in those situations, she wouldn't let her talk, always wanted her near her and with her mouth closed. Never being proud of her, what she was working or like introduce her to other people.

So It was the first event of Yn and Lizzie together, and even if Lizzie never was like that, she had that fear, and where Lizzie was talking with another person while yn went to have a drink for her too, when she went to Lizzie's side, Lizzie instantly introduce yn and told that she is her girlfriend, every time she met someone or even if they were a coworker, she introduced yn and was so proud of telling everyone that yn was her girlfriend.

Even if she knew before, yn was 100% sure that Lizzie was the love of her life and a gift for every she went through

The love of her life

NO ONE'S POV Y/N takes a deep breath, looking out of the window at all the people with cameras, her girlfriend looks beautiful as ever sitting next to her, holding Y/N's hand and rubbing her thumb over Y/N's knuckles.

The pair only just arrived to the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premier. It's their first event they've come as a pair ever. Lizzie couldn't be happier to finally have Y/N by her side when they finally went public with their relationship.

Y/N, on the other hand, has been feeling super anxious. It's just that Y/N's ex-girlfriend was also an actress and whenever Y/N went with her to any kind of event, she just felt horrible.

Y/N was not allowed to speak, not allowed to go anywhere without her ex-girlfriend. She felt like she was being showed like a stupid throphy. 'Just stand still and look pretty' Is what her ex-girlfriend always said.

"Are you okay, baby?" Lizzie asks softly, noticing her girlfriend looks a bit off.

"What? Yeah, all good" Y/N fakes a smile and Lizzie immediately knows her girlfriend's lying. But before she can say anything, Y/N speaks again. "Oh, we're here" She informs, getting out of the car and holding her hand out for Lizzie who accepts it with a sigh.

Of course first comes taking photos and Lizzie practically drags her girlfriend there. Y/N wasn't sure if she should be there as her ex-girlfriend always used to tell her to wait on the side. But Lizzie's just completely different and is proud that Y/N is her girlfriend.

Even in the interviews that come next Lizzie always includes her girlfriend somehow, asking about her opinion or mentioning her whenever she has a chance.

Y/N left for some drinks now though while Lizzie got into talking with Benedict. Handing Lizzie a drink she brought for her, Y/N's met with a huge smile on her girlfriend's face.

"There you are. Benedict, this is my girlfriend Y/N. Y/N/N, this is Benedict" Lizzie says with a huge smile playing on her lips, interlocking her fingers with Y/N's.

"I see. Nice to meet you, Y/N" Benedict smiles. "Lizzie has told me a lot about you"

"S-she did?" Y/N questions surprised on which Lizzie gives her hand a little squeeze.

"Well, of course I did. I want everyone to know I have such an amazing girlfriend" Lizzie smiles, rubbing her thumb over her girlfriend's knuckles, making Y/N blush.

The conversation goes on and Y/N has to admit she's actually having a great time. It's a nice change to be included in the conversation and not receiving death glares for telling something.

Of course Benedict isn't the only one Lizzie wants to introduce her girlfriend to. Lizzie leads her girlfriend to her other friends and co-workers, one by one, introducing Y/N to everyone and having a quick conversation with them.

The time flies fast though and both girls get tired, so when Lizzie suggests to go home, Y/N can't say no and happily agrees.

"Did you have a good time today?" Lizzie asks softly, rubbing Y/N's knuckles with her thumbs.

"Yeah. I really enjoyed the time I could spend with you. Thank you, Lizzie" Y/N smiles warmly.

"You don't have to thank me for anything, baby. I'm glad you were there with me" Lizzie smiles back, leaning in to peck her girlfriend's lips with a kiss.

When the pair is finally back home, the first thing both girls do is taking a hot shower. And after putting on the comfiest clothes they could find, they just snuggle up together in their bed, deciding to watch a movie.

Y/N's head is comfortably resting on Lizzie's chest while Lizzie's hand is rubbing circles on Y/N's back. Every now and then Lizzie places a kiss to her girlfriend's head which never fails and makes Y/N smile widely.

"You can close your eyes, baby. I know how tired you are" Lizzie tells her girlfriend softly, noticing Y/N is struggling to keep her eyes opened to watch the movie.

"I love you so much, Lizzie" Y/N mumbles out, allowing herself to close her eyes and wonder what did she do to deserve such an amazing girlfriend.

"I love you more, Y/N/N" Lizzie says quietly, a smile playing on her lips as she keeps rubbing Y/N's back in circles.

Lizzie surely must be a gift for everything Y/N's been through. She's finally happy and it's all thanks to Lizzie.

And after this day Y/N's completely sure that Lizzie is the love of her life and that there is no one in the whole world she would rather spend the rest of her life with, even though they're dating only for a few months.

Yeah look, this is all sort of coming to a head next week so… buckle up for a bit of heart ache tbh.

But one day Anthony is sitting in the player’s box with that same hat on that she’d signed years before now. He’s sat between his mother in law and his sister in law and Ben is even sat behind him. But most importantly there’s a tiny boy running up and down with his smile and Kate’s curly hair and there’s another in Anthony’s arms with his hair starting to curl as it grows in.

“Anthony!”

He turned his head to see someone leaning over the divider with a cap and pen in his hand.

“Can I get an autograph?”

Anthony stood, balancing Miles, chuckling as Neddy grabbed onto the pocket of his shorts, following him.

“Thanks, I was a huge fan.”

“Amma usually does this.” Neddy said as Anthony scribbled his signature before he ruffled his son’s hair.

“Well a million years ago Papa was a tennis player too.”

“Like Amma?”

Benedict scoffed, “Not quite little Guy.”

Anthony shot his brother a look and opened his mouth to retort but was cut off by the roar of the crowd as the players were announced and Kate walked out onto the court.

“Amma!”Neddy squeaked, bouncing on the balls of his feet, his shoes lighting up. He turned back to the man who’d asked for Anthony’s autograph. “That’s my Amma!”

Anthony grinned, ruffling his hair again. “Yeah, that’s Amma.”

He waved to the man as Neddy scrambled forward, waiting for Anthony to sit before he scrambled onto his father’s lap watching attentively.

“Amma!” Neddy called out as Kate took out her racquet and Anthony felt his heart stutter as a slow smile made its way onto Kate’s lips.

She turned towards them and blew a kiss to Neddy who gasped excitedly and the crowd cheered as the moment was caught on camera.

“Okay boys, remember we need to cheer really loud so Amma can hear us.”

“I’ll cheer so loud.”

Mary chuckled, kissing the top of her grandson’s head. “Of course you will, sweet boy.”

“It really makes you wonder if he’s Kate’s.” Edwina mused poking her nephew in the stomach so he giggled. “Look at that sweet face.”

“Mmm she was such a sweetheart.” Mary hummed as they tossed the coin.

“It might surprise you to know I was once a very cute boy also.” Anthony said dryly. “You should see my baby photos.”

“Are they in colour or black and white?” Edwina asked with a sarcastic expression.

“Hilarious.”

“Amma’s going to win.” Neddy said under his breath. “She always wins.”

Kate did win. And she climbed the edge of the box just like always to kiss Anthony first and then the boys before she lifted Neddy down to stand beside her on the court and Anthony truly can’t believe that this is his life now when he sees Kate holding hands with their tiny son who’s giving Simon a high five.

Kate and his boys. It had felt impossible when he’d stood in the doorway of her hotel room all those years ago and he’d never take that for granted.

Summary: Basically you're the actor protraying Doctor Strange and Lizzies energitic behavior maskes you fall for her (Lizzie is single in this One shot)

Y/n POV

"Roar!!". Exclaimed the beautiful women known as Elizabeth Olsen. You see, these days that I've been working with her, I've slowly been falling for her. Why? Easy, everything she does is just cute.

"Ok, take a break and we will shoot again later today." Said Sam Raimi, he is the director.

I berly heard what Sam said because I was busy staring at Lizzie. "Dude, if you like her go ask her out." Said someone next to me. I got scared and quickly turned my head. Oh, it was Benedict Wong. He plays Wong and his name is literally Wong, can't make this shit up.

"Wh-what are you talking about?" I quickly retort, but I realize I have been obvious. "I've seen for 30 minutes how you've been drooling for her. If you don't ask her out now that you have a chance, you might regret it in the future." Wong tells me. When did he get so wise? Actually, he has a point.

"You're right, I'll try to tell her once we finish shooting for today." I tell him. Wong just smiles and pats my shoulder "Then good luck Y/n." It's the last thing Wong tells me before leaving.

I go and sit in my chair that had 'Y/n' printed on it and looked for some nice restaurants on my phone near where we're shooting Multiverse of Madness. After some time they finally call everybody back to shoot again. When I get there I see Lizzie is already in one the machines that will give the effect of like she is floating. I can see she is enjoying herself.

"Alright Y/n, were going to film when the Scarlet Witch has the talk with Doctor Strange once she arrives at Kamar Taj. So please get ready." Sam tells me. I quickly go with crew members to get positioned into one of the machines to also give the 'floating'.

Once Lizzie and I are ready. Sam starts "Lights, camera, and action!" The machine that is holding Lizzie starts moving her towards me. Her face is now holding the evil Wanda deamenor, but she quickly drops it. I quickly realized that she forgot what she was going to say in this scene. This happens to every actor, and actress, even me. Oh boy I was not ready for what was coming next.

"Weeee! I'm coming to get you!" Lizzie screams joyfully at me. Oh my fucking god, if this is a dream, never wake me up please. Elizabeth, you have full consent to get me and never let me go.

"Cut!" Sam screams. I turned to look at every crew menber who was laughing. I just hope they're laughing at Lizzies comment and not the dumb face I probably had after that.

After an hour or so we finish shooting the scene. I will admit it was kind of hard for me to concentrate considering Lizzie was just a few inches away from me in the scene we shot today.

I head to Lizzies trailer after finally gaining up the guts to ask her out. Once I get there I knock the door and she opens it, she was now out of her costume and wearing something more comfterable.

"Hey Y/n, need anything?" Yeah, as a matter of fact, it is you I need. "Yes, can I come in?" She moves out of the way so I can come inside her trailer.

Once inside, I finally start saying "Hey Lizzie I wanted to ask you if you wanted to go out with me to this nice restaurant not far from here." She had a serious face the whole time I was speaking but had a wide smile after I stopped.

"Of course! Is this date?" She asks me still smiling. "Y-yes this is a date. Unless you don't want it to be." I say trying to hide my evident nervesness.

Lizzie starts walking towards me. I was expecting a slap but got something totally different. She planted a kiss on my cheek. I opened my eyes; we were both blushing.

"A date it is then." She told me as she headed for the trailers exit. Lizzie stoped at the door and looked at me, "I'll wait for you outside." After that, she walked out.

I have no idea how I landed a date with the beautiful Elizabeth Olsen but I do hope I get more dates with her.

help. my brain has been infected with thoughts of LIVE as a dance academy. Curtain is an almond mother. Jeffers is doing contemporary dance about his struggles in securing the perimeter. Garrison is highly trained in tap dance but they still keep her in the bunker so all the students can hear every day is the ominous clacking sounds coming from under the ground. Milligan used to teach breakdancing, his ability to head spin randomly comes back to him one day and he nearly kicks Mr Benedict in the face.

the LIVE ghost (faint, echoing taps that float up from under the ground... mysterious...) that haunts the halls, clicking and tapping away... (camera pans down to show garrison furiously tapping her way down the hall while looking visibly anxious; she is holding a full glass of champagne which is bouncing up and down and splashing everywhere as she taps; she is looking for somewhere to discard it)

jeepers doing interpretative dance in complete silence. it is painful. he is getting very emotional about it

also i misread that as "he nearly spin kicks mr benedict in the face" and so true but also the idea of milligan like. he's fighting some greys and then he lands and just starts spinning on his head and everyone, including number two, mr benedict, rhonda, and all the guys they're fighting, just stop for a moment to a) gawk b) appreciate this. they're like "damn, we didn't know you could do that" and milligans like [upside down and spinning rapidly, facial expression completely neutral other than slightly widened eyes] "i also did not know i could do this."

CASA TIDMOUTH’S MOST NORMAL AND RELIABLE RAILWAY WORKERS: THE STEAM TEAM

Thomas Awdry Billington

Age: 23 Occupation: NWR 1's driver

Very cheeky and even nosy at times. Every time someone he dislikes gets into trouble, his immediate response is to make a joke out of their situation. Except when it’s something absolutely serious, which is rare. He always puts his best in anything he does and will excitedly prove himself to be the best person up for any job offered to him… which sometimes results in him getting into accidents and mishaps. Edward took him under his wing ever since he started working in the railways three years ago, making Thomas look up to him fondly and consider him a father figure.

He holds the Golden Whistle that is connected to the Shining Time world and stores golden dusts. It also helps control the usage of gold dusts during Lady’s time in Sodor so it won’t run out. He also runs a bulletin board called Sodor's Rumors where railway workers can write and submit the latest gossip or news to the board, whether it’s signed or anonymous. Ones about the quarry workers usually interest him because he's a curious little guy. He noticed, however, that rumors about spirits and suspicious people started popping up more and more ever since Lady joined Sodor Railways. There’s something else, though. He can’t help but feel that he might have forgotten someone important.

Trivia:

The shortest out of the Steam Team. Gordon sometimes calls him “little Thomas” because of this. Also because of his bed hair.

Huge fan of Depeche Mode. His favorite album is Violator.

He seems to never run out of energy.

The bottom of his huge ass shoes has retractable rollers. 6 on each sole, complete with side rods. Similar to the wheels of his steam engine!

Thomas’ partner in gold dust hunting. He’s also his best friend even though they have their moments of disagreement. He holds the polaroid camera that can capture pictures of golden dusts and sparkling trails that are invincible to normal eyes in an area. His mail delivery is also part of Sodor’s Postal Service. Being a generally good-natured and obedient person, people who don’t know any better like to mistake his positive traits as naivety.

With his history of being treated as a doormat or stepping stone, whenever he felt like someone is being close to him just to use him for their personal gain, his perception of them can change quickly from trusting and loving to skeptical and critical. Even though he’s a generally polite and well-mannered young man to (almost) everyone, there are several moments where he snaps and just outright calls out said person who wronged or made fun of him. All of these factors result in his actions usually following what he believes can be beneficial to him and is the best for his well-being. Is he really the sweet, pouty, often snarky Percy that everyone knows and recognizes on the surface? Whatever the answer is, does it really matter as long as he’s useful?

Trivia:

Back in high school, he was an ace pitcher for his school team called the Sodor Sobriquets.

His magical polaroid camera works without using any films. He got it inside the wishing well when he accidentally fell inside it during his first day at work.

Edward Pettigrew

Age: 46 Occupation: NWR 2's driver

The old reliable! He’s a generally kind and patient person. He rarely ever takes insults or jokes to heart and just patiently waits for misfortune to befall whoever mocks him. Even enjoys it more whenever he gets to be the one dragging their sorry ass out of trouble. However, those who have known him for a long time know not to mess with him. Despite not submitting things to the Sodor’s Rumours Bulletin Board, he likes to smile and nod while reading the railway workers’ quips and notes. When he was younger, he was bold and brash and can never bow down to authority figures. He was also quite a charmer back in the day, something that his two closest coworkers always tease to him.

Even though he’s now a sagely man with a lot of life experiences, he seems to hide a lot of things and know matters someone like him shouldn’t have…? No need to think much about it, though! Probably nothing important, just wise Edward being wise Edward.

Trivia:

He’s great at ballroom dancing and skateboarding.

He used to get into street fights as a young man.

That long scarf is a gift from Henry back when they were younger.

Something about the smiles he gives whenever he’s made fun of by his friends don’t seem pleasant. Feels quite unnerving, even. What is up with that? Oh well.

Henry Stanier

Age: 42 Occupation: NWR 3's driver

Used to frown and complain about tough work a lot. He was incredibly protective of his engine and got upset at seeing any stain or dent on it. He’s also extremely worried that heavy workload can put a strain on or even damage it. A long time ago, he hid himself and NWR 3 inside a tunnel to shield from the rain. This and that happened, his engine gets bricked when he went to work the next day, he attended a church sermon for the first and only time to find inner peace, and after he learned his lesson his engine is finally free (to help out Gordon)... but the wildness of his story doesn’t simply end there!

After his first Flying Kipper delivery went horrifyingly wrong and he died in the accident, he got to meet Lady in the Shining Time world who eventually revived him. Since that event, his view on life has never been so offputtingly bright and positive. He lives life cheerfully and is now a much kinder and friendlier person, even though he has his moments of snarkiness (though it’s usually out of saying the truth bluntly instead of being mean). With that amount of epiphanies and one divine intervention, the comparison between his past self and current self can be quite jarring.

Trivia:

He is narcoleptic.

After Lady disguised herself as a regular railway worker and met Henry for the second time, Henry thought that his time is finally up. This is not the case however, which resulted in both of them laughing hysterically after Lady talked with him.

Every time someone mentions “beauty” and “life” in the same sentence within his earshot, he’ll go into an enlightened ramble with a bright, cordial expression.

When he’s stuck in a situation with seemingly no way out, he’ll start writing his will in his cellphone. If there’s moss, he’ll start eating that.

He doesn't remember anything from his childhood before he was adopted by two rich as hell parents. He doesn't have a birth certificate and nobody really knows where he comes from. Either these facts or his encounter with Lady is the reason why his view on life is quite… unique, to say at least.

Gordon Gresley

Age: 41 Occupation: NWR 4's driver

Prideful and can be rude at times. He’s very ambitious and takes his occupation as the driver of the greatest and most beloved express train in all of Sodor seriously. Because of his upbringing, he used to look down on those that he deems weak or is contributing less and less to the railways. He’s also quite competitive and always pushes himself to his limits in order to live up to his (and - when the situation calls for it - his engine’s) reputation and restore any remaining glory of the Gresley name.

A lot of people view the Gresley lineage as suspicious or even cursed because of how easily its members die out under unnatural circumstances (illness, accidents, etc.). The formerly large and respected nuclear family of nine is now reduced to just him, Scott, and his mother. The subject is frequently brought up during Scott’s interviews and reporters who recognize Gordon always try to pry information out of him (the main reason why he moved to Sodor). Even though he loves and lives off attention, the ones that are given by reporters and journalists are always met with scowls and exasperated “go away”s from him.

Despite scoffing at the idea of the Sodor’s Rumours Bulletin Board and thinking that it’s a silly idea, he submits rants whenever his brother finished calling him on the phone. He sometimes gets embarrassed in showing affection or appreciation which made people who don’t know him well assume that he’s distant and unappreciative.

Trivia:

The youngest Gresley. His middle name is Juniperus.

Despite not liking his mother very much, he still maintains a decent (???) relationship with Scott and his cousins just so she would stop getting worried and pestering him.

Even though he has a high image of himself, he gets easily thrown off guard whenever faced with a crowd or confronted directly.

He, Henry, and Edward used to be an incredibly tight-knit trio when they were younger. However, as the years passed, he felt like the three of them don’t have that much in common anymore (Henry slowly turned into someone quieter and more passive, Edward became more calm and less brash). They’re all still… friends, but sometimes Gordon can’t help but feel like things really aren’t the same between them as they used to.

When he smiles, it changes his entire face :]

James Augustine Hughes

Age: 35 Occupation: NWR 5's driver

An incredibly pompous person, James thinks highly of himself. VERRRY highly. His entire design and personality just screams “Look at me. Look at how handsome and fabulous I am and praise me!”. He absolutely hates it when he sees other people getting praised or complimented for the things that he has (people who fully dress in reds and golds or wear aviators just like him and get complimented for those). Sometimes he reads complaints and worries submitted by others in the Sodor’s Rumours Bulletin Board to make him feel better about himself.

Due to the events of his childhood and teenage years, he has a habit of wanting to get into popular cliques or feared friend groups, a juxtaposition of his arrogant and self-centered personality. He looks up to people who are respected or even worshiped by their peers and even tries to be just like them. There are certain kinds of people that he believes is worthy of his respect, but he is starting to get more and more unsure of who exactly they are ever since he became proper friends with Thomas and Percy.

Trivia:

When he was in high school, he wanted to become a psychologist. He gave up on pursuing it after he got into a nasty fight with a teacher and got a mean scolding from the principal and his parents. He was also a bit quiet back then.

If he gets ignored a little too much, he starts to panic.

He’s good at reading others and quick to notice change.

He looks up to Gordon and respects him greatly, even going so far as to be just like him for his approval. Though as the story progresses, things really aren’t looking bright for this statement.

He’s fluent in Spanish and French.

Tobias “Toby” Holden

Age: 56 Occupation: NWR 7's driver

Despite his age and his engine being considered one of the slowest in the railways, he works hard and diligently. He also has a good sense of humor and lends a good ear to anyone with interesting stories and tales. Even though he's a knowledgeable and wise driver that knows how to handle problems slowly, he can be temperamental at times and frowns at the sight of people with unchecked egos and self-righteousness. Due to experiences in the past that also got Henrietta involved, he actually distrusts youth who think they know all and act all mighty because of their new technology, engines, and even actions that have potential to harm others when used carelessly.

At day, Tobias Holden is NWR 7's driver. At night, he reads records and books about Sodor's history with anomalies and significant cultural differences compared to Mainland's. Not originally from Sodor, he is aware of the island's cultural and environmental quirkiness and can't handle the thought of his wife being involved with those sorts of things. Even though he avoids confrontations, he'll do anything to get rid of anything that threatens the harmony of his life - and to an extent - the railways. He’ll make sure ghosts and spirit don’t exist. He’ll make sure the cases of people disappearing and other ones appearing out of nowhere don’t struck him and the people he cares about. There's an itch at the back of his mind that says that a certain driver for the NWR 2 and a lady dressed in magenta aren't really as simple as they look on the surface, and he's not going to keep quiet about it… eventually.

Trivia:

Rumours had it that he once got arrested in his youth because he body-slammed a cop.

He wishes to live a quiet life someday. There must be no other place as pretty as this island.

He likes hearing Thomas' jokes.

He doesn't like the idea of being separated from Henrietta. He'll do anything for her. Anything.

Likes: tiramisu, slow dancing, seeing pompous young people getting into trouble, his wife <3 Dislikes: people in power.

Towards the end of his life, the actor Adrian Schiller, who has died unexpectedly aged 60, found success and sudden fame in two blockbuster TV shows: The Last Kingdom (2018-22), on Netflix, in which he played the richest man in medieval Wessex, Aethelhelm; and ITV’s drama Victoria (2016-19), as Cornelius Penge, a footman in the royal household.

In both, a fleeting glance would suggest that here was a naturally authoritative actor, blessed with gravitas and style. This camouflaged the demonic comic spirit within, which had informed so many of his memorable stage performances since he first appeared in the German Expressionist Carl Sternheim’s 1911 play The Knickers at the Lyric, Hammersmith, in 1991. In a delicious comic performance, he played a weak-chested Wagner-loving barber thunderstruck by a flash of discarded lingerie as the Kaiser drove by, suggesting, said the Times critic, “a tousle-headed combination of Charlie Chaplin, Egon Schiele and Gollum, whose idea of romance is reading extracts from the Flying Dutchman”.

Schiller proceeded to leading roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1990s – his Porter in a disappointing 1996 Macbeth was the funniest I had ever seen, while his entertaining Touchstone in an awful 2000 designer knitwear production of As You Like It rescued another dud evening.

He was less prominent in some strange productions at the National – Peter Handke’s wordless The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other in 2008, as one of 27 actors playing 450 characters in a town square, coming and going with no interaction, and as a revolutionary tailor in a poor 2013 retread of Carl Zuckmayer’s 1931 Captain of Kopenick, in which Antony Sher did not eclipse memories of Paul Scofield in the NT’s 1971 production.

On the other hand, he was outstanding in Chekhov’s Three Sisters, superbly directed, and modernised, by Benedict Andrews at the Young Vic in 2012, playing Kulygin, a leather-jacketed schoolteacher tragically infatuated with his own disloyal wife; and he was a compelling, original, quietly spoken and sympathetic Shylock in The Merchant of Venice at the Wanamaker, the candle-lit indoor venue at Shakespeare’s Globe, in 2022. The Merchant rekindled the current noise around the play – is it antisemitic or about antisemitism?

In an interview with the Jewish Chronicle, Schiller tilted towards the second view. He averred that he was “a Jew, but not Jewish”.

Schiller was born in Oxford, the second of four children of Judith (nee Bennett), a teacher, and Klaus Schiller, a gastroenterologist whose family had emigrated from Austria to Britain in 1938. When Klaus was appointed a consultant at St Peter’s hospital, Chertsey, the Schillers moved to Surrey.

Adrian was educated at Kingston grammar school and Charterhouse, in Godalming, Surrey, where he pursued a busy life in stage productions. Instead of drama school, he took a good degree in philosophy (after switching from architecture) at University College London, although he always self-deprecatingly said that he majored in “plays and partying”.

His early television career encompassed series such as Prime Suspect, A Touch of Frost, Judge John Deed and much else, through to the first series of Endeavour in 2013. He also popped up in the Channel 4 series The Devil’s Whore (2008) set in the English civil war, and the Doctor Who story strand The Doctor’s Wife in 2011.

One of his most effective cameos on screen was as the barman in a striking government-sponsored advert in the anti-drink-driving campaign in 2007. He leaned deep into the camera with a series of non-equivocal questions to a bemused, unimpressed young glass-holding customer who may or may not have grasped the seriousness of the interrogation.

But he always returned to the theatre, seeking out the most demanding roles with companies who would accommodate him. He gave an almost ideal Cassius, wirily intellectual while bubbling passionately underneath, said Michael Billington, for David Farr’s 2005 RSC touring version of Julius Caesar. In the title role of Tartuffe at the Watermill, Newbury, in 2006, he was cool and venomous, as well as understated, and clearly the star of the show.

And for Stephen Unwin’s English Touring Theatre in 2007, he rebooted the remorseless villain, De Flores, in Middleton and Rowley’s Jacobean shocker, The Changeling. He was more than notable, too, opposite Sher’s Sigmund Freud, as a vividly hilarious Salvador Dalí, in their great encounter scene in Terry Johnson’s Hysteria at the Hampstead theatre, revived there in 2013, 20 years after its Royal Court premiere.

His feature film credits were not extensive, but in 2014 he was well cast as the sardonic high priest Caiaphas in Son of God, Christopher Spencer’s biblical epic. In Sarah Gavron’s Suffragette (2015), scripted by Abi Morgan, he was an imposing Lloyd George, coming round to the persuasion of the militant vote-seeking women led by Meryl Streep as Emmeline Pankhurst and Carey Mulligan as a fictional worker fuelled by the excitement of change and protest.

His last movie, yet to be released, is Red Sonja, in which he plays the king of Turan in a remake of the 1985 sword-and-sorcery Marvel Comics fantasy.

Back on stage in 2023, he returned to questions of Jewish identity and survival in three short new plays at the Soho theatre and a more substantial Holocaust drama, The White Factory by Dmitry Glukhovsky, at the sparky new Marylebone theatre (formerly the Steiner Hall), in which he was a powerful, wise presence in the story of a survivor of the Łódź ghetto in Poland, played by Mark Quartley, adapting to American life in the Brooklyn of the 60s.

At the time of his death, Schiller – who was also a skilled sculptor and guitarist – had just returned from Sydney and the triumphant international tour of The Lehman Trilogy, directed by Sam Mendes, and had been looking forward to the next leg of the tour in San Francisco.

He is survived by his partner, Milena Wlodkowska, a laboratory support technician, and their son, Gabriel, and by his sister, Ginny, and brothers, Nick and Ben.
