the summer after finishing university in New York, Marinette gets invited to a camping trip with Alya and Nino and his best friend. which, honestly, is for the best. at least she has more time than the four years she's already had to figure out how to reach out to her one-time superhero partner, with whom she fell out of touch after the reveal.
only, it's Adrien Agreste waiting for them on the meeting point, beaming so hard at her that it's blatantly obvious they know each other well. in her panic, what is Marinette supposed to tell Alya and Nino to protect their identites, if not that they used to date?

yo.. I saw the request that you posted today? IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD WHAT THE HELL? and I looked for the prompt and ended up finding it , Can you do a part 2 where the news reporter lady gets akumatized again finds the video that she was looking for? where y/n's crazy mafia father threatens to kill her now abusive ex boyfriend because he cheated on her but she was so blindly loyal and didn't want anybody to find out? like because that would be embarrassing but instead y/n didn't know (1)
HELLO! so I didn’t really understand the request well but i wrote this out and i’m planning on making another part related to this! so here it is! thank you for this request im so happy that you liked the first one.  Speaking of which, if you haven’t read the first one here it is!  Part One
The other part will be posted soon ;))
Strawberries, sunshine and Adrien Agreste on a red picnic blanket.
Life is so serene, so perfect at this moment. Especially with the blond resting his head on your lap as you run your fingers through his soft blond locks. He hummed and smiled softly. You noticed his cheeks were tinted red because of the time he spent in the sunshine. He’s gorgeous.
You pick up a strawberry from the plate and pop it in your mouth, the sweet juice bursting and dripping from the corner of your lips. Before you could react you felt a hand move to your face and wipe the substance with the thumb. You look down and see Adrien looking at you, his green eyes glistening and full of life. You couldn’t help but move down and kiss him softly on the lips. It was a slow, tender kiss which you didn’t want to pull away from but you did in order to catch your breath.
“Ma Belle,” Adrien whispers, moving a lock of your hair behind your ear. “How do you feel about coming to a film festival with me tonight?” “Film festival? You need to elaborate on that babe.” You say quirking your eyebrow up. You’ve never been to a film festival before, you didn’t even know what happened there. Fuck, you’ve never even been to a movie theatre before because you basically have a whole private theatre in your house.
He furrows his eyebrows at you and chuckles. “Basically once a year the students organise a film festival on school campus. Students get to show their own short films and projects that they’ve done while we sit on the grass with snacks and drinks. It’s really fun.” He explains.
It really seemed like fun but you end up looking down. You knew that after last time’s event some people still thought of you as a bitch. People still whispered behind your back and they still judged you. Other than that reason, your father was coming home tonight from Madrid and you were going to ask Adrien to come with you to meet him for the first time.
“What’s wrong? Don’t you want you come?” He asks you and you look at him, a slight frown on his face. “Alya is going to present her film today and I told her we’d come..” He continues and looks to the side.
“No, no I do !” You say quickly and sigh, “My dad is coming tonight and I was going to ask you to meet him.” You say, averting your eyes to the side.
You feel him stiffen up. “Oh.” He says.
“But I can tell him that we can meet for brunch tomorrow instead.” You say and hold his hand. “I know you’re nervous about meeting him but I just want my two favorite boys to finally meet.” You say and give him a small smile.
 He softly chuckles and grabs your hand, kissing it. “Of course mon ange.”
You giggle and hug him. It made you happy that he was willing to come. He knew it would make you happy.
“What should I wear for the festival? I don’t want to be under-dressed.” You say suddenly pulling away, already thinking about the outfits you want to wear.
“I think I’d worry about you being over dressed instead.” He laughs a little bit and you playfully hit him on the shoulder.
  “Nadja, if you don’t get me any scoop on them by tonight you’re fired.”
“Fired?!” Najda exclaims getting out of her chair. She watches as her boss raises a questioning eyebrow at her and she clears her throat.
“But madam, I can’t-“
“By tonight Nadja.” Her boss urges sternly, causing the red-head to gulp.
She nods slowly and keeps her head down as she walks out of the office.
Rage started eating her up from the inside. She needed to do something. Anything.
  “Hey girl!” Alya closes you in a tight hug and hands you a red solo cup filled with juice which was already spiked with some type of liquor.
“Hey Alya.” You smile at her and give each other a friendly kiss on the cheek. “Are you nervous?” You ask her.
“No..” She scoffs and suddenly downs her drink, laughing nervously. “Okay maybe just a little bit.” She says quietly and it causes you to laugh.
“I’m sure that your film is amazing.” You reassure her.
“Thank you.” She says warmly. She looks you up and down. “You always love dressing up dont you?” She raises an eyebrow at you.
“I told her that it’s going to be causal.” Adrien sighs and you roll your eyes playfully.
“This is as casual as I can get.” You state and arrange the beret on your head, smiling proudly.
 The two laugh and you feel Adrien kiss your cheek and sliding his arm around your shoulder.
“Marinette and Nino saved you guys a place up front, I’ll be joining you guys a little later.” She explains and nods over to where Marinette and Nino were sitting. You see them waving at you guys.
“Okay we’ll see you later then.” Adrien says and you both start walking away from her.
There they were, the whispers, the eyes all on you as you walk past the people. Adrien felt it too, you knew he did, that’s why his grip on you was tighter but it was also somewhat comforting.
“Allô!” Marinette says and giggles while she hugs you both. You could tell that she’s already had a few too many to drink You all sit down and start talking about what’s going to happen tonight, what films are expected to show and what you thought Alyas film is going to consist of.
You sip your drink slowly. This shit was strong but you didn’t mind it.
“Alya’s film is going to be the best.” Nino says proudly and confidently. “She’s been working super hard on it non-stop.”
You smiled at him. The way he talked about her with his adoring eyes - you could just tell that what they had was real. It reminded you of You and Adrien. Maybe you two weren’t there yet but the way he looks at you was the same.
“Luka’s coming later because he got held up at his gig.” Marinette groans and sprawls herself out on the blanket, her phone resting on her chest.
“are you and Luka getting serious?” Adrien asks, grinning at her.
She hums and nods. “I really like him.”
“I’m happy for you Marinette, you guys look really cute together.” You say and she sits up quickly.
“You think?” She asks, batting her eyelashes at you. You nod, grinning. “yay!” She exclaims and hugs you unexpectedly.
“Okay I think that Mari has had enough of this.” Nino says and takes away her drink, chuckling.
The atmosphere was amazing. People drinking, laughing and chatting all around you guys.
  Everything died down when the screen in front of you turned on and everyone started cheering.
Alya quickly joined you guys and you all greeted her again quietly as you clapped for opening of the first film.
It was a love story between an alien and a human which formed because of their mutual love of French toast. Weird ass story-line but it was beautifully filmed for some reason. You could tell it was amateur but the shots and the beauty of the movie as the human and the alien shared their first bite of French toast really immersed you into it.
“those berries look so good im going to bust a nut.” You hear Nino whisper and Alya hushes him, earning a snicker from Adrien.
“I wish someone would eat me like that French toast.” Marinette blurts out and you clasp a hand over your mouth trying not to laugh.
As the film showed the ending credits the creator got up from where he was sitting and everyone cheered, whistled and clapped for him.
“Isn’t it Alyas turn now?” Adrien asks and Alya nodded taking a deep breath in.
Nino squeezed her hand and kissed her cheek. “Everyone’s going to love it babe.”
Everyone got quiet as it started.
Two people were sitting on the roof,
“It’s the end of the world isn’t it?” the character says and before the other person could respond, the screen went pitch black.
Everyone started whispering to each other in confusion and you looked over at Alya as she furrowed her eyebrows.
The screen turned on again but it was a different setting.
Two men were now sitting at a large table, one with a cigar between his lips and the other in front of him. Both of them were wearing a suit.
“Mother fucker.” The man says as he lights his cigar.
“What the fuck? This isn’t what I filmed.” You heard Alya whisper.
You were confused as to what was happening but you were too focused on the film in front of you. The man with the cigar came into view even more. He looked famillar.
“You can’t kill him.” The other man says.
“he cheated on her, Johnny!” the guy with the cigar shouts and hits his hand on the table.
Wait. Holy shit, that was your dad.
“He cheated on her and she still went back to him.” He blows out smoke and looks to the side. Disgust evident on his face. “I thought I raised her better than that, I guess she’s stupid just like her mother.”
A picture of you on his desk was shown in view.
You were visibly shaking, your mouth dry. You heard people around you ask you questions but you couldn’t hear anything. You couldn’t even react.
Your father pulls out a gun and clicks it. “I’m killing that bastard tonight, pay off a few people to make it seem like a car accident and we’re going to Paris. Just her and me. I’ve got too many problems with my junkie wife and I don’t want an ignorant daughter too.”
Tears stream down your face. It wasn’t a car accident. Your father killed him. That’s how Trevor died. Trevor cheated on you with one of your best friends back In New York but you never left him because you never wanted people to find out that someone cheated on you, you had too much pride for that.
You get up from where you were sitting and run away, ignoring the murmurs of people and gasps as the film continued. You felt like you were going to throw up, you felt like everything around you has been all a big fat lie. You heard Adrien call out your name but you kept running away until you froze when you heard a familiar evil laugh.
You turn around and see the villain from last time again. but this time it she was holding your father In her arms while he’s passed out.
“Finally! I got it!”
People started to scream and you simply fell down to your knees. Too weak to move. Too weak to do anything.
Your heart was shattered.
Flashbacks come back to you at Trevors funeral. You were sobbing as you watched them bringing out his casket. Little did you know that your own father was the reason for his death.
You were broken.

Thoughts and Reaction to ROCKETEAR!
It's a long post, but when are these ever really short? xD Seeing Carapace first made me so excited. I've been sad we haven't had much of him in the show. And then I saw that it seemed like Ladynoir was doing pretty good as they only had Carapace helping them this time. More S2 & S3 like. So I was like cool, cool, this is great. But what the heck scientist WHY ARE YOU BRINGING TYRANNOSAURUS REX'S BACK! Obviously she's going to be something big later on, she's too nicely animated not to be back. Not to mention Bob Roth's plans. Anyone else both intrigued but also scared at what that could do later? Big upcoming plot point, I think.
Tumblr media
I screamed awwww because this is everything. I've wanted a LB/Carapace and Marinette/Nino friendship bond in this show since season 1. This scene made me incredibly happy! I'm a huge Nino fan, for those that don't know, so you can imagine how much I love this episode. Even though sad Nino.
"Alya, everyone has to believe that you will never use the Miraculous again!" End of episode: So anyway... So what I'm seeing here is, Alya's not fond of the idea of being just a spy, not being in on the action. Even though it's Ladybug's plan. Chat Noir isn't fond of what's going on right now either, where he thinks what's going on is all Ladybug's plans. Alya makes the decision to not do what Ladybug wants and tells Nino she's still Rena Rouge. So what's Chat Noir going to do to go against her? Because that's coming up on the horizon. Despite everything being easier for Marinette since everything's not just on her shoulders now, she's still been unable to play video games with her dad, and we know how much she loves doing that. :c That's really sad she doesn't even have time for her family anymore. DJWifi over here being all adorable. "You don't love me anymore!" Me: *Chat Blanc flashbacks* Alya suggests her new content could be Chat Noir edits and Marinette's like YES DO THOSE. Then those edits helped push Nino into thinking she was into Chat. Big oops. Not gonna lie, the rewind freaked me out for a moment. Last time I saw that was Chat Blanc so I thought something big was up. But nope, it's just like that scene in Puppeteer 2. Ugh poor Nino! He knows something's bothering Alya, but she won't say what it is and her behavior's too off from how she normally is. Poor guy. x.x Grumpy Nino that Carapace doesn't get attention and then they wrote his girlfriend with Chat Noir. I remember when Alya was grumpy for a bit about Rena Rouge not getting a party to celebrate her. Movie Ladybug telling Movie Chat Noir that he's better with Movie Rena Rouge. Is this a reference to the episode in Avatar, The Ember Island Players? Getting strong vibes when Play Aang and Play Katara were like, we're just friends nothing more and it's great! Play Katara was extremely into Play Zuko. I can see why Ladybug dismissed the movie (or was it the previous one since it's been awhile? Maybe?) because Rena Rouge and Chat Noir???? The writers (of the movie) just wanted to be different because everyone can see Ladynoir, unless they're blind. Alya and Nino are Andre's favorite couple. YES THANK YOU. I mean they're not my favorite because Love Square. BUT they're my second favorite next to them. Those kids are super adorable but definitely that kid playing Chat wasn't doing Nino any favors. First picture Alya shows. Chat with a heart tail. Yeah that's not doing her any favors lol. Nino: UGH CHAT NOIR'S COMING IN BETWEEN ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND. I KNOW, I'LL CALL MY BEST FRIEND TO VENT TO ABOUT IT. Best Friend Chat Noir: Best Friend Chat Noir: Welp maybe I should see what's up. Maybe I went a little to hard on the cat charm and she's fallen in love with me. Me: Oh oof here we go. Also can I ask, if anyone knows, who animated this episode? The fluidity is great and it looks really pretty. But it doesn't quite look like SAMG's work either. Whoever did it, I love it. S2 Chat Noir: You're not replacing me with a turtle, are you? :c S4 Nino: Who would want a reckless turtle as a partner? BOYS STOP. But yeah this whole scene had me laughing so hard XD Very dramatic and I love it. Nino's hilarious even when he's worried and sad! I would've absolutely loved to have heard this in English with the old English voice of Nino, but the new one worries me on whether or not he'll do a good job sounding like Nino and less high-pitched and whiny. :/ New York Nino was great but S4 Nino....x.x THE TRANSITION BETWEEN HIS INNER MONOLOGUE AND SPEAKING REGULARLY AGAIN 😂😂😂😂 Brilliant! It doesn't really feel like Miraculous Ladybug this episode, and I love it. Not that I don't love the show as usual but wow this is great. Okay, I want to point out that Chat Noir
probably was more worried about it than he would've been otherwise because of what happened with Marinette in Weredad. It probably made him more cautious about this sort of thing.
Tumblr media
LOL Chat's sulking because Alya's laughing at the idea of being interested in him. 😂😂 I know that's a blow to one's ego and all, and he's dealt with this kind of thing a lot so I do feel bad for him, but that is his best friend's girlfriend and he definitely doesn't want her to like him. Alya: With him it's not just ❤️it's *makes massive hand gesture indicating she loves him deeply* SO SO SO CUTE OKAY ALL THIS DJWIFI 😭 Alya: And I don't even know your secret identity! I would never fall in love with someone I don't know. Chat Noir, literally fell in love with Ladybug, whose identity he doesn't know. Well Alya, I wonder if you saying that matters for later somehow.... o.O Nino running away crying is honestly one of the things that hurts me most in the entire show. Ugh. Adrien over here being all, I'm having a good day. I'm happy and smiling and it's great. And then it wasn't. Adrien, if Nino let him and didn't interrupt, would've told him about how Alya really doesn't love Chat Noir, and that would've seriously led up to his identity being exposed since Nino was watching and filmed them. o.o Did you notice how he was going to tell him about it? S4, the basement is where it's at. Adrien: Uhh, when did you arrange all this? Nino: *pounds fist on desk* I ASK THE QUESTIONS! 😂 So like. Why is Nino interrogating Adrien when he's after Chat Noir? He doesn't know they're the same person. XD He's looking at him like Adrien has info he's keeping or something omg.
Tumblr media
Also again this animation is so nice. Adrien, feeling uncomfortable and so turns the music off. Nino, wanting his dramatic music on while he interrogates Adrien, turns it back on. Adrien, feeling even more irritated and uncomfortable, wants the music OFF and turns it off. Nino, turns the music back on. This may be a reference to something, I don't know, but lolol it's so funny. This episode is both super hilarious and super angsty! Honestly they've done such a good job in my opinion. Nino: I'm talking about something that I shouldn't tell you! ...but I'm going to tell you anyway! Alya's Rena Rouge and I'm Carapace! Okay but the way Adrien went from shock to utter anger, knocked his chair back and grabbed Nino's shoulders like "Tell me the truth. You two know about each other?" Aw man, my poor sunshine boy. A lot of the stuff bothering Adrien is all circumstantial, none of it is to purposefully keep him in the dark. And yet from his perspective, that's how it looks. "I thought secret identities must be protected at all times! If that was the truth, you would never tell me this!" Alright so three things. If he's referring to him saying that Nino and Alya know about each other, that was situational and important info for him to know now that this is out. It wasn't important to know before this. The time it happened was dire and was really no time to get around it. If he's talking about Nino telling him the secrets, well yeah that's not supposed to happen and Nino broke that trust. But also, I get the feeling pretty strongly at this point Adrien's going to be breaking some rules too and one of which is he's going to tell Nino who he is. Adrien's being too emotional in this scene to not be involved in it all, I'm wondering if that's going to be questioned later by Nino. He's acting like he knows too much to be a random viewer of the heroes like the rest of Paris. Also Adrien's best friend just totally dissed Chat Noir and went off about how he throws himself at Ladybug whenever he sees her with roses and love confessions. 😂😂😂 This is just too funny! "But he's always rejected because Ladybug finds him annoying! And she's completely right!" Omg Nino, that's not the reason anymore, shush! "And then Rena Rouge appears and he goes *tickles under Adrien's chin* hey pretty lady! You look elegant and you have great perfume." OMG does Chat Noir actually say and do stuff like that to Rena Rouge or is he just exaggerating here XD "If I could I would shut his mouth forever!" Yeah Nino, say what you really think about your best friend in the entire world. Yikes poor Adrien though. I never imagined he'd hear all these bad things about himself from his best friend directly like that. :/ That's a major misunderstanding of him. Which kind of pushes me more towards the "he's going to tell Nino" theory. Sad Adrien transformation DDDX Alya: *explained everything about why Chat Noir went over to her house in the middle of the night* Marinette *facepalm* Ugh that Chat Noir... Well at least there will be no misunderstandings there! xD "Chat Noir, you stole Alya from me! I will steal your life from you." Good lord man calm down. You can't just kill a man! Fanon: Chat Noir gets attacked by a guy over Marinette. Canon: Chat Noir gets attacked by a guy over Alya. Time to go back to the basement! lol Nino's music's still playing xD And the video is left with it paused on Chat Noir hugging Alya. Marinette looked a bit sad, but it was probably more about the situation being a mess rather than being sad he'd hug her. Meanwhile, Chat Noir's fighting Nino and would rather get beaten up by him than fight. x.x "I can't believe that I doubted you." "I can't believe I chose to do anything but be with you!" She wiped away akumatized Nino's tear just like how Ladybug wiped away akumatized Chat Noir's. ALL THE PARALLELS 😭😭😭 But that hug is so sweet!! Nino broke off the akumatization just like Alya did :o Dang, I wonder if that means something later too. "Love and secrets do not go well together, Ladybug. And I'm sure you have a lot of
them!" Secrets = from Chat Noir. Love = for Chat Noir. Yeah even Shadow Moth knows at this point. xP Thanks for that foreshadowing. Nino's charm is my favorite charm so far! It's my favorite shade of blue. Chat Noir: Everybody has doubts sometimes...even me." Ladybug: Is everything okay, Chat Noir? Chat: Oh yes...pound it!
Tumblr media
So um. The placemet of Adrien's poster in between Chat Noir, Ladybug, and just with this entire situation feels very strange. Very intentional. But no clue exactly what that could mean..... Nino and Alya are happy over there watching those two, like they're waiting for them to figure things out or something. But really, Adrien should've talked to Ladybug when he could still do so calmly and be reasonable. I doubt that's going to be the case later on. And honestly Ladybug doesn't even know what's going on. Every episode we've seen really either has them working together or she's unable to be Ladybug when he's unable to be Chat Noir most of the time. I've said it before but these two really need to communicate. Nino and Alya are like a less adorably romantic version of what they'd be. "But they're a couple and they know their secret identities, so why does that rule exist for us but they can know?" Very simple. Because they were temporary holders and the Miraculous they had, Hawk Moth hasn't made it his life's mission to obtain, unlike them, who are permanent holders and Hawk Moth's been after them fiercely to make a Wish that could destroy everything. But. The fact he's asking this, and Marinette's Chat Blanc nightmare, really points in the direction that he's going to eventually find out that while she's thought about telling him all along, Chat Blanc's kept her from doing so.
Tumblr media
Okay, so while it looks like he's staring up at the moon, if you notice, it really is just one of the pink bubbles.
Tumblr media
Now, they could be making it seem like it's the moon though to give it a double meaning. But poor Kitty, he's feeling so awful right now over in that dark corner Dx Nino felt bad for only two episodes? and it got resolved, so hopefully this all won't last too much longer for him! Marinette had a few shaky episodes so hopefully he'll have a few before it gets resolved. But somehow I think that may be wishful thinking. This episode was so amazing, honestly. Wonderful writing, made me laugh a lot, aw a lot, and hurt a lot. It focused on the core 4 characters which I've wanted more of for a long time. The animation was beautiful. And it just felt so different in such a good way. Chat Noir's having a hard time right now, and I know there's a lot of anger and hate about it going around. But please, think of this as him hitting a rough spot in the road to a much better and brighter future. He's going to end up okay, he'll understand it all someday. And that day's honestly not that far for him if you think about it.

Shadow Fox
"Good morning, Adrien," Lyon greeted, walking up to the model outside the school.
"Hello, Lyon," Adrien smiled at his Greek friend.
"You waiting for someone," Lyon asked him.
"Would I sound too much like Cat Noir if I said you," Adrien smirked.
"Cat Noir's got nothing on you, Sunshine Boy," Lyon snickered.
"Ironic," Adrien thought.
"Hello, boys," Vallia approached them. "You two flirting with each other again?"
"Maybe," Adrien smirked.
"It's so obvious as well," Lyon shook his head. "How is it that so many people in this school still think Adrien is straight?"
"You were the one that pointed out their lack of common sense when we first got here, brother of mine," Vallia says.
"Oh, right," Lyon accepted her logic.
"At least Marinette was already dating Luka when you two started flirting in public like this," Vallia said.
"I was so blind to her crush," Adrien sighed. "I must have looked so insensitive to her."
"Adrien, crushes are pretty much a blind spot to all guys," Lyon tells him. "I know some girls back home had crushes on me that Vallia had to point out for me."
"It's true," Vallia giggled. "You can't exactly be rich, good-looking, and not expect people to get a crush on you."
"Celebrity crushes are the worst," Lyon shook his head.
"Don't I know it," Adrien out his head in his hands.
"Awe, poor kitty," Lyon playfully patted his head.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever, wolfie," Adrien slapped his hand away lightly.
"You are so lucky that I don't have archery practice today," Lyon playfully glared. "Otherwise, you'd know the exact consequences of calling me wolfie."
"Oh, I almost forgot," Vallia says. "Have you guys seen the latest post on the Ladyblog?"
"Vallia, you know I do not care for blogs," Lyon reminds her. "Most people with blogs like that believe that it gives them actual rights as 'real' reporters. Please, most blogs are basically just wannabe reporters throwing around their opinions."
"You never hold back when stating your own opinion, do you," Adrien asked.
"Why should I," Lyon raised an eyebrow. "Free speech exists for a reason."
"Point made," Adrien shrugged.
"Take a look," Vallia showed them her phone.
New Lead On the Identity Of Ladybug was plastered as the lead story on Alya's blog. Adrien and Lyon looked at each other before returning to the story. It was some theory story that seemed to be more like a conspiracy theory as she compared old photos of Hippolyta, Joan of Arch, and some statue that she seemed to us an app to add ladybug style armor to as a basis for her theory that the current Ladybug was also a heroic person under the mask. She was guessing volunteer workers, teaching assistants, and any other female teenager that liked to help people.
"I thought Ladybug told her months ago to stop trying to find her identity," Lyon did not like what he was seeing.
"Did being akumatized into Lady Wifi not teach her anything," Adrien pinched the bridge of his nose.
"From what you guys told us, that was more Chloe's fault," Vallia reminds. "Yet Chloe didn't even have a reason until Alya went a little too far when she thought that brat of all people was Ladybug."
"May the gods help that girl," Lyon shook his head. "I have never been so happy that there is no god or goddess of blogs."
"Hephaestus is the god of technology," Vallia reminded.
"But a blog on its own is not technology," Lyon countered. "It may be created with technology, but that is not part of his domain. The internet is a thing all on its own."
"Maybe Marinette can help Alya by being the voice of reason," Adrien suggested. "She usually is."
"She shouldn't have to be," Lyon says.
"Alya, Ladybug has repeatedly told you not to look for her identity," they heard their favorite bluenette's voice.
"Speak of the devil," Adrien said. "Or rather, speak of the angel in this case."
"Relax, Marinette," they hear Alya's voice. "It's not like I gave any specific people to look at."
"Alya, you are endangering her family and friends by trying to figure out her identity and putting your 'clues' on the Ladyblog," Marinette says.
"Hawkmoth won't attack her family or friends," Alya waved her off.
The two girls approached the school, consumed by their conversation. They hardly noticed the other three walking up to them.
"What even makes you think that Hawkmoth wouldn't attack her family," Lyon asked. "There doesn't seem to be anything he wouldn't do."
"Hawkmoth did akumatize a baby," Vallia pointed out. "Poor little August."
"Well, Hawkmoth didn't attack Lila," Alya reasoned. "And if he didn't attack Laydybug's best friend, he wouldn't attack the rest of her friends or family."
"Ever consider that Hawkmoth didn't go after her because he knew she was lying," Lyon asked, in his scary calm voice.
"What is your problem with her," Alya glared at him. "What do you have against Lila to accuse her of lying without proof!?!"
"My proof is that she was stupid enough to broadcast her 'friendship' all over Paris on your blog," Lyon crossed his arms. "Anyone that publically says that they are best friends with a superhero is like asking for villains to attack them. It's pretty obvious she is claiming so to get attention."
"How dare you accuse Lila of that," Alya yelled at the Greek, not that he seemed to care. "She would never lie."
"Except that she has," Vallia says. "Pretty much since the day that she got here and every day since then."
The Greek twins then walked away without another word. That was another thing that Adrien liked about them. They took no nonsense from anyone and would tell you if you were doing something, or were about to do something, stupid.
And they certainly took no nonsense from Lila. But they especially did not after she told a lie about Clara Nightingale stealing some of her dance moves from her. It was well known, since Clara's last visit to Paris, that the pop star was very good friends with the twins so they automatically knew that was a lie. And they made their anger very well known. They didn't care if it got them some glares in return, but they always made people know that they believed that Lila is a liar. Which was true, but not everyone knew that.
"You can't say that those two are not blunt," Adrien commented to Marinette.
Marinette giggled in agreement.
The two walked into the school before Alya could go on another of her "defending Lila' rants. They got old very quickly.
It had just been the end of the school day when the Akuma Alarms started to go off. Lyon and Valiia did a disappearing act while Adrien and Marinette both made bad excuses in order to get away from everyone to transform.
"Tikki, spots on."
"Plagg, claws out."
"Frostbite, freeze over."
"Flutter, wings up."
Ladybug, Cat Noir, White Wolf, and Beautifly were soon all heading toward the newest villain that Hawkmoth created.
"What in the name of Zeus," Beautifly swore.
In front of the four heroes was a psychedelic killer clown. With the poofy red and orange jumpsuit, giant black shoes, red and orange clown/Santa hat, and purple skin, he looked like the long lost twin to the Ghost Clown from Scooby Doo. And he was also very unnerving to look at. His weapon seemed to be a giant clown horn.
"I have never liked clowns before, and this is not helping," White Wolf stated.
"You're afraid of clowns," Cat Noir raised an eyebrow under his mask.
"Not afraid of them, I just don't like them," White Wolf corrected. "I find them to be creepy and weird-looking."
"Looking at this guy, I am actually on Wolf's side for this one," Ladybug says. "Not that I am surprised that Hawkmoth made a clown akuma, at all."
"One was bound to show up eventually," Beautifly crossed her arms.
"Lucky us," White Wolf complained.
"I'm guessing he is either a birthday clown who got upset, or maybe a class clown that got in trouble for his jokes, or someone pranked with no sense of humor," Cat Noir guessed.
"Those are actually some really good guesses," Beautifly says.
"Fight enough akumas, you get good at figuring out what type of person they were under the mask," Cat Noir said.
"Good thing they don't have attached glamours like we do with our miraculous," White Wolf says. "That would make things a lot more difficult."
"Chloe's first time as a villain was certainly easy to figure out," Cat Noir said. "All that changed about her was putting her in a Ladybug suit with reversed colors. He was a lot more creative with Stormy Weather and Evillustrator."
"What else can you say about those with purple skin," Ladybug giggled.
"I may like the color, but purple skin is not something I would ever like to have," Beautifly says. "I'd look like a human lavender flower."
"He looks ridiculous I'll give him that," White Wolf looked at the clown.
"I am Jokester," the clown yelled. "If others can't appreciate my sense of humor, I will make them laugh."
"I think Cat Noir may be right about the prankster getting into trouble theory," White Wolf said.
"Finally, someone sees my genius," Cat Noir laughed.
Jokester brought out a cliche clown horn. He aimed it at the heroes.
"Heads up, guys," Beautifly warned.
She used her wings to fly up and out of the way. The other three jump out of range as the clown blown the horn. Out came a sound blast of yellow sound waves. While it missed the heroes, the sound did wash over some civilians that were farther back on the street from them. They all started laughing immediately.
"I am suddenly reminded of the Joker," White Wolf commented.
"Even with all the crime, I still actually have always wanted to go to Gotham," Cat Noir said.
"Don't let him hit you with that sound wave," Ladybug called to them.
"Where's the songbird miraculous when we need it," Beautifly tried to joke.
"We'll see how this plays out, Fly," White Wolf tells her.
They all dodged another sound blast sent their way. White Wolf landed on the roof of a nearby building. He notched an arrow in his bow, letting it fly at the akuma. The clown dodged the arrow, letting it freeze the ground where it hit.
"Anyone want to take a bet on whether the akuma is in the horn or not," Cat Noir calls out, dodging a blast sent his way.
"At least it isn't hidden on a ship like Captain Hardrock's was," Beautifly says.
"Please don't mention her," White Wolf requested. "My ears still have a slight ring to them from her sound cannons."
"Not the quietest akuma we've ever faced," Cat Noir agreed.
"Try and surround him," Ladybug ordered. "He might get confused and not know where to aim the horn."
"Good idea," Cat Noir agreed.
The four separated, going in different directions. White Wolf kept the most distance so that he could properly aim his arrows at the clown. Beautifly stayed off the ground, her wings fluttering so that she could easily fly out of the way. Ladybug and Cat Noir were on opposite sides of the clown, both with their weapons out and ready to strike. Altogether, they formed an X around the akuma.
"You should surrender," Ladybug tried talking to Jokester. "Whatever Hawkmoth is telling you is a lie. He can't offer you anything real."
But the signature butterfly outline appeared over the clown's eyes.
"Do not listen to this teenage heroine," Hawmoths tells the villain in his head. "She only wants to take away your new powers and prevent you from spreading laughter and fun. I can help you spread real fun all throughout Paris while she can not."
"I could not agree more, Hawkmoth," Jokester replied.
He aimed his horn directly at the ground. Beautifly had seen this before when an enemy would aim their weapon right at the ground.
"Get out of the way," she yelled.
She immediately flew up, further off the ground. The three heroes on the ground followed suit by jumping or using their weapons to get onto rooftops. Jokester blew the horn right at the ground. The sound wave came out like a sonic boom as it boomed out in all directions on the ground. A few more dozen people all started to laugh uncontrollably. Jokester shot into the air and started flying just like when Rose was Princess Frangrance doing the same thing with her perfume gun.
"I hate it when we have to chase them," Cat Noir complained. "Can't they ever make it easy for us."
"Trust me, if I had it my way, Hawkmoth's lair would have a giant Las Vegas sign on it with 'come arrest me' spelled out in neon," White Wolf tells him.
"This is why I like having wings," Beautifly giggled.
She took off, flying after him. The rest followed after her. White Wolf aimed another arrow at the clown, firing when they jumped to another roof. But Jokester managed to dodge it and who knows where the arrow landed after that.
"I need to practice my aiming while I am running more often," Wolf said.
"What I would give to be a flying cat," Cat Noir says.
"I will have to look to see if there is a jaquin miraculous," Beautifly giggles.
"A what," Ladybug asked.
The butterfly hero flew faster, getting in front of the clown. She launched her razor flower at him. Jokester was forced to head back to the ground. He landed on a random street somewhere by Le Grand Paris.
"I will make you, heroes, see the joy of laughter," Jokester yells.
"Laughter is overrated," Wolf stated, firing another arrow.
He blew his horn at the arrow, blocking and destroying the arrow. They all then jumped out of the way as the sound blast almost got to them after destroying the arrow.
"Even with four of us, he has us on the ropes," Beautifly says.
"If we end up laughing non-stop, we won't be able to call upon our power or detransform because we wouldn't be able to form words properly," Ladybug said.
"Even separately, the sound wave is too big," Cat Noir noticed. "He needs to be distracted away from us so we can get the akumatized object."
"So we need an allie," Wolf said. "The stag or python miraculous might be able to help us. Or maybe even the songbird."
"Sonic scream, sound shriek, or paralyzing," Beautifly listed the powers of the three miraculous. "Any of those could help us."
Ladybug was about to respond when she saw Alya off to the side. She was on her phone, as usual, most likely filming the fight for the Ladyblog. Her blog had recently opened up to Lyon and Vallia's homeland of Greece because of White Wolf and Beautifly joining the battle against Hawkmoth. Google translate was probably very useful to them.
"I know what to do," Ladybug says. "I'll be right back."
With that, she left. Cat Noir was the first to get what she was doing when he saw that Alya was there as well.
"We better handle the clown gone wild until she gets back," Wolf says.
They separated again, dodging more sound blasts.
Ladybug destransformed into Marinette before she headed into Master Fu's building. She had a feeling that he was expecting her, like always. How he did that was a little creepy, but what did she know about Guardians of the Miraculous.
"Master Fu," she greeted when she came in.
"Come on in, Marinette," Fu says.
"I need the fox miraculous," Marinette tells him. "The illusions it can create will be the best distraction for this akuma."
"Of course," Fu said.
He went over to his phonograph and punched in his code. The miracle box soon rose out of it. He picked up the box and put it in front of her.
"Marinette Dupain-Cheng, pick an ally you can trust to fight alongside you on this mission. Choose wisely; such powers are meant to serve the greater good. Once the mission is over you will retrieve the Miraculous from them," he tells her.
Marinette immediately picked up the foxtail necklace. But then she hesitated when she looked at it.
"Marinette," Wayzz asked, concerned.
"What is it, dear child," Fu asked her.
"You know that I usually give this to Rena Rouge, right," Marinette started.
"Yes. And if I am correct, she is your best friend, Alya, correct," Fu guessed.
"Yes, she is," Marinette didn't even try to lie. "But... you know that Alya also is the creator of the Ladyblog."
"I mean no offense, but blogs are still quite foreign to me," Fu admitted. "But I do understand what you are talking about."
"Alya is a good reporter," Marinette started. "But she sometimes does not know when to let a story go or if a story will have unexpected consequences. Alya has been trying to figure out my identity. She's almost been obsessed with finding it pretty much since Ladybug's first appearance. The search was what started the events that caused her to be akumatized. I have told her to stop, but she hasn't."
"And you are worried that Alya will find your identity if you continue giving her the fox miraculous," Fu guessed.
"No, I'm worried that she will put us in danger when she figures it out," Marinette says. "She keeps saying that the people deserve to know who I am, who all us heroes are, even when that puts us all on Hawkmoth's radar. She's convinced that he won't attack us because a liar has been telling her that she is 'Ladybug's' best friend and she believes her. She thinks that since Hawkmoth had not attacked 'Ladybug's best friend' that he will not attack Ladybug."
"I see," Fu says.
"I have even told her, as Ladybug, to stop looking for my identity," Marinette continued. "Multiple times, I add. But she is still looking. Alya is a great friend, but she tends to listen only when it is something she wants to hear. I am not sure if I can trust her enough with the fox anymore."
"Heroes are not always set in stone, Marinette," Fu tells her. "Not even the ladybug and black cat are only compatible with one person. I trust that if you know when there is a good fit for a temporary hero, then that person will indeed be a good one."
Marinette seemed to calm down after that. But that also slightly made her curious about who else would be compatible with her miraculous. When they did that accidental miraculous swap and she became Lady Noir, she and Mister Bug actually did pretty well. Even if they did not have much practice with the powers that they literally had for less than fifteen minutes.
She quickly left and transformed, jumping over rooftops. She had to think of someone that could be a good match for the fox miraculous. She knew that Alya loved being Rena Rouge, but this was also a chance for her to see that her actions had consequences. To teach her that there are some things that are not worth a story. Also, do not believe everything you hear. That second one was more a jab at Lila than anything else.
The more Ladybug thought about it, the more she was thinking of a personality that would match the fox and its powers. Alya was hard-headed, stubborn, and liked to charge in. That was not the type of personality that would match with subtle illusions and an animal that is known for being sneaky and quiet. A fox should be sneaky, know when to observe before taking action, and should also know what will work best when in the shadows.
And now that she really thought about it, there was one person she knew that would be a far better fit for the fox.
Ladybug landed right near a very familiar boat on the Seine. Her Ladybug luck must have been working because the exact person she needed was right on deck.
"Juleka," Ladybug called, jumping onto the boat.
"L...Ladybug," Juleka stuttered, shocked. "What are you doing here?"
"I need your help," Ladybug stated.
"M...My help," Juleka looked even more shocked. "What can I do? I'm not cut out to be a hero."
"You are more capable than you think, Juleka," Ladybug pulled out the box. "Juleka Couffaine, this is the miraculous of the fox, which grants the power of illusion. You will use it for the greater good. After the battle is over you must return the miraculous to me. Can I trust you?"
Juleka was a lot of things. She was shy, sweet, kind, had a good head on her shoulders, and had a dream to become a model. She never would have imagined anything like this ever happening to her.
"M...Me," she was beyond shocked at this point. "I...I'm no hero, Ladybug. And... what about Rena Rouge?"
"Rena has... lost my trust," Ladybug admitted. "She has been permanently retired and won't be returning."
"Oh," was all Juleka could say.
"Juleka, there is no bravery without fear," Ladybug tells the shy girl. "Being a hero does not mean being fearless and always jumping into danger without a second thought. It also means being careful and going in with a strategy. You are naturally quiet and observant, a perfect match for the fox miraculous."
"I'm not a hero, Ladybug," Juleka was still reluctant.
"We all have a hero inside of us, Juleka," Ladybug gave her a reassuring smile. "You do not need to be fearless to be a hero."
Juleka looked at the box that Ladybug was offering her again. She wanted to be confident, to be able to stand up to people if she has to, to put herself out there more. Now, she was being given that chance.
"Okay, Ladybug," she took the box and opened the lid.
A ball of light came out, flying around the goth girl. To her credit, she did not stare at the ball of light and exclaim "what is that thing" like Alya did.
"Hello, there," Trixx greeted, not showing how surprised he was at not seeing Alya.
"Rad," Juleka gasped.
"Not easily shook, is she," Trixx asked Ladybug.
"Guess with magical superheroes around, these things are being seen as more normal," Ladybug shrugged.
"Alright, then," Trixx turned back to Juleka. "My name's Trixx, and I will be your kwami."
"Kwami," Juleka was not as informed as Alya had been.
"I'm what gives my holders their powers," Trixx answered. "I am the kwami of illusion. To transform, you say 'Trixx, let's pounce.' Detransform, it's 'let's rest.' To call my power, play your flute, think the illusion you want, and say 'mirage."
Juleka put the necklace on, but she still looked nervous about doing this.
"You'll do great, Juleka," Ladybug smiled at her. "I know you will."
Juleka nodded. "Trixx, let's pounce."
Trixx was pulled into the necklace and Juleka transformed. Ladybug immediately noticed that her hero outfit was a lot different from Alya's.
For starters, her colors are midnight black and dark purple. Her torso was similar to Rena's but was dark purple where it was normally white and black where it would have been orange. But that was where the similarities ended. Over her torso clothing was a black leather jacket with streaks of purple on it. She also wore knee-high black boots that had no heel and matched the dark purple gloves on her hands. Behind her was a real fox tail instead of Rena's fabric one. The same difference was the real fox ears coming out of the top of her head. Her hair remained mostly the same but grew to where the tail started to come out of her. Over her eyes was a dark purple mask. Her flute also changed to purple and black and was strapped to her back.
"Wow," Ladybug gasped. "This might actually come in handy if we ever have another akuma at night to deal with. There would be plenty of shadows that you could blend into."
"This feels so awesome," Juleka looked at her costume.
"So, what will I call you," Ladybug asked.
"My name can be... Shadow Fox," Juleka chooses a hero identity.
"Cool," Ladybug smiled at her.

Meanwhile, back at the battle, the three other heroes were trying their best to keep other civilians from becoming laughing messes. They already had to save Alya three times because of her need to film the fight even when it was a risk to her safety.
"Alya," Beautifly yelled in warning.
Make that four times.
The butterfly hero dived down and picked up the blogger. She just managed to fly out of reach of another sound blast from Jokester. She set Alya down on the roof of a building further from the fight.
"Hey, I need to be closer to the fight," Alya protested where she was put down. "I would never be able to get a proper video from here."
"Your life is not worth a simple video," Beautifly scolded. "Either stay away from the fight or just learn to dodge on your own. We can not keep saving you. It distracts us from defeating the akuma."
"I need this for my blog," Alya continued to protest.
"A blog post is not worth your life," Beautifly snapped at her.
She flew away before Alya could attempt to argue more with her. She saw Cat Noir and White Wolf standing on opposite sides of Jokester, hoping for at least one of them to get a hit in.
"Take this, Mr.Big-Nose," Cat Noir yelled, jumping at him while spinning his staff.
Jokester focused his attention on Cat Noir, raising his horn to make him laugh as well as blast him away. White Wolf fired an arrow when he was distracted. And this one finally met its mark. The arrow hit the horn and ice erupted around it, encasing his hand and the horn at the same time. That lead to the akum only being able to jump out of the way of Cat Noir's strike.
"Finally," Wolf says. "There is no worse feeling to an archer than constantly missing their target."
Cat Noir had to laugh at that, making the wolf hero playfully pout.
"Aw," Cat Noir looked at him. "A pouting wolf. How adorable."
"Call me adorable one more time and I will shove an arrow so far up your..." Wolf started.
"Don't want to be called adorable, then don't pout like that," Beautifly smirked, interrupting him.
"My quiver literally never runs out of arrows, you really want to tempt me," Wolf shakes his bow at them in a threatening manner.
"You're still cute, Wolfie," Cat Noir winked at him.
"Do not make me shoot you, Kitty," Wolf playfully threatened.
"You two are made for each other," Beautifly giggled.
"Am not," the two heroes could not hide their blushes.
"Someone needs to tell that Ladyblogger to take down that LadyNoir ship name," Beautifly giggled again. "Because that is obviously not happening."
Both male heroes were really going red, but their fun moment was ruined by Jokester.
"I will make you laugh if it is the last thing I do," he yelled.
"You'd think a clown would appreciate our senses of humor," Cat Noir commented.
The ice around the horn began to crack.
"Oh for the love of Hades," Wolf swore.
They all shot in different directions when the ice exploded with a sound blast that would have directly hit them.
"Looks like I need to layer on the ice," Wolf notched another arrow.
"Someone call for back-up," Ladybug's voice called.
Not even a second later, a black figure shot at Jokester and hit him with... was that a flute? The clown was knocked right into a nearby wall.
"That was the akuma I just hit, right," the figure asked, her voice telling them that she was female.
The rest of the team got their first real look at Shadow Fox.
"That is most definitely not Rena Rouge," Cat Noir immediately said.
"You can call me Shadow Fox, kitten," Shadow responded.
"This is an interesting development," Wolf commented.
"Indeed, it is," Beautifly agreed.
Alya, who had finally managed to get close to the fight again, was unbelievably shocked, not to mention angry.
"I'm Rena Rouge," she thought, angrily. "I was right here, why would Ladybug give someone else the fox miraculous. She doesn't even look like a fox."
The three did a quick look, up and down, of Shadow Fox. She was certainly a lot more different than Rena Rouge in terms of looks. And the way that she was able to just shoot at Jokester and nail like that meant that she was comfortable with being quiet even when attacking.
"That was a good hit," Wolf complimented. "Probably one of the few that have happened in this fight."
"Uh... thanks," Shadow said.
"I'm more happy about there now being three heroes with dark-colored outfits compared to the two with bright colors," Beautifly remarked. "We outnumber them, now."
"Finally," Cat Noir cheered in agreement.
"I resent both of you," Ladybug pointed at them, playfully glaring as well.
"At least the two of us stand out more," Wolf smirked.
Jokester than started to get up. He noticed that there were now five heroes against him instead of just the three he had been fighting.
"Oh, look," he gave them a creepy smile. "More people to join in my plan of spreading laughter. Goodie."
"This guy is really creepy," Shadow stated.
"See, she agrees with me," Wolf said.
They all dodged another sound blast.
"Okay, time to end this," Ladybug says. "Lucky Charm."
She threw her yo-yo into the air, calling whatever object that was going to appear. It came in a flash of light as usual and then fell into her hands.
"You have got to be kidding me," Beautifly said, looking at the object.
It was one of those ridiculous fake clown flowers. The ones with a small pump at the end of a tube to squirt water out of the flower.
"What in the world am I supposed to do this," Ladybug looked at it.
"You better figure it out quickly," Wolf called out to her.
He was running across rooftops along the street, continuously firing arrows at the demented clown. But none of the arrows met their mark because they were all destroyed by Jokester's sound blast.
"I'll try and give us some more help," Beautifly says. "Nature's Heart."
Her razor flower spun around her, landing on her hand in front of her. Out of the center of the flower appeared a blossom. This one was oddly known my Shadow Fox.
"That's a water lily," she said, making Beautifly look at her. "I grew up near the water, so I have a lot of aqua facts up my sleeves."
"Okay," Beautifly says. "Then I know exactly what this does. And it does make sense. Sound can not move through the water. Everyone out of the way!"
The butterfly hero took the flower and raised it in front of her. Jokester barely had time to look at her when a powerful torrent of water came shooting out of the flower. She loved her ability to call enchanted flowers, even if she never knew what she was going to get.
Jokester shot another sound blast, but the water was too powerful for it. The sound blast was now acting more like a shield as it tried to keep the water at bay. The heroes all stood on different roofs to avoid the torrent.
"I have never loved flowers more than right now," Cat Noir said.
"That's my partner for you," Wolf grinned.
Ladybug looked around, using her Ladybug vision to work out how to use what she had. Shadow Fox was the first to flash in her sight, then the water gun flower, then White Wolf's bow and arrows, and finally Cat Noir. She now had a plan.
"I can't hold this for much longer," Beautifly shouted.
Ladybug quickly made her way over to Shadow Fox.
"When Beautifly stops her attack, that is when you need to call your illusion," she tells her.
"But... what do I even create," Shadow asked, holding her flute tightly.
"Trust in yourself," Ladybug says. "You'll know what to do."
Shadow Fox nodded, holding her flute. Ladybug then went over to White Wolf and Cat Noir to explain their parts of the plan.
It was not long before the water stopped coming out of the lily that Beautifly was holding. She looked at it, frustrated for a second, before having to take off again as a sound blast nearly hit her. When Jokester went to fire his horn again, Shadow Fox put her flute to her lips and played the tune that activated her power.
"Mirage," she whispered, throwing the ball of light.
In a flash, there were many copies of the heroes along the rooftops. And no two groups were in the same positions, so Jokester could not work out which was which based on how they looked.
"NO," Jokester yelled, confused on where to fire.
Having been looking up, at all the copies, Jokester did not notice the flower that Ladybug had managed to sneak in front of him. When he stepped onto the pump, the flower squirted water right into his face, further distracting and confusing him.
Hidden in two different alleyways were Cat Noir and White Wolf as they waited to do their parts. When Jokester had his back to White Wolf as he was trying to blast all the copies while still trying to wipe the water off of his face and out of his eyes. The icy hero came out as quietly as he could, raising his notched arrow. Aiming as carefully as he could, he fired. The arrow sailed through the air, making contact close to the bottom of the horn, freezing it and knocking it out of Jokester's hand.
"My horn," he cried. "I need that to spread laughter."
Ladybug was quick to jump out of her hiding place and use her yo-yo to wrap around his legs and trip the villain.
"Cat Noir, now," Ladybug yelled.
"Cataclysm," the black cat called, his hand bubbling with black energy.
He jumped up, touching the frozen horn with his hand. The horn instantly turned to dust, falling into icy pieces. A black butterfly flew out of the remains.
"No more evil-doing for you, little akuma," Ladybug opened her yo-yo and threw it at the insect. "Time to de-evilize."
Ladybug released the butterfly, the creature now being white. She then threw the fake flower into the air, letting her Miraculous Cure sweep over the city. As the swarm of ladybugs vanished, three of the heroes started beeping because of the timers on their miraculous for using their powers. Ladybug and Shadow Fox were left with four minutes and Beautifly had three left. Cat Noir was probably close to having four minutes left but White Wolf did not use his power so he was not on a timer.
"LADYBUG," Alya shouted, running toward them.
"And... that is our cue to leave," Wolf stated. "I am not getting involved in this."
"Me neither," Beautifly agrees. "I'd rather fight the spirit of one of the furies."
The Greek heroes flew/ jumped away. Cat Noir then looked at Ladybug.
"I don't really know why she is angry, but I'm not getting involved in whatever happened that made her so mad," he tells her.
"Can I come with you," Shadow asked before he could leave. "I can hide and give you the miraculous so that you don't find out who I am."
"I'm cool with that," Cat Noir responded.
The two quickly left as well and Ladybug was left alone with the blogger.
"Yes, Alya," the hero knew that this conversation was going to happen.
"How... How... You replaced me," the Ladyblogger managed to get out. "I was right here, how could you replace me?!?"
"Because, Alya, you have lost my trust," Ladybug stated.
"Lost your trust? But I didn't do anything," Alya protested.
"Really? Because I recall telling you, multiple times, to stop trying to figure out my identity," Ladybug crossed her arms. "And yet you continue to try. I saw your latest blog post. That not only puts me in danger if your theory is even correct, but it also puts innocent girls in danger that anyone thinks could be me."
"The people deserve to know who is protecting them," Alya argued.
"And does that fact that my friends and family will be targeted by Hawkmoth mean nothing to you," Ladybug glared at her.
"Hawkmoth will not attack them," Alya tries to argue.
"And what reason do you have to think that," Ladybug was not going to back down. "Do you have him on speed-dial? Do you have a video of him saying that he would leave them alone? What proof do you have that he will not attack my family and friends?"
"Well, Lila is still..." Alya was interrupted.
"Her again," Ladybug shook her head. "I told that girl months ago to stop saying that she knew me and that we're friends. It was annoying then and it's annoying now."
Alya was undeniably shocked.
"But... she said..." Alya was interrupted again.
"Let me make one thing perfectly clear," Ladybug says. "The only way that me, Cat Noir, White Wolf, Beautifly, and any other hero in Paris knows Lila Rossi is when she has either been akumatized, been chased by an akuma, or has been the cause of one. Neither me, nor any other hero, is friends with her and she needs to stop lying by saying that she is."
"You're just saying that to protect her," Alya was in denial at this point.
"This is why you no longer will be given the fox miraculous," Ladybug remains glaring at her. "You are so in denial about the truth unless it suits you and what you believe. You go running head-first into danger, not caring about your safety or how it distracts me and the other heroes when we constantly need to save you. You also only ever publish what gets you more views on your blog. Lila Rossi's video, your theories about who I am, and I noticed that you still have not taken down that story you posted that accuses Cat Noir of stealing the Mona Lisa. That was a villain called Copycat, who was akumatized to look just like Cat Noir. We told everyone that, yet you still have not taken that article down or posted an apology to him."
"But... But... I..." Alya was speechless, for once.
"There is more to being a good journalist than clickbait articles," Ladybug got her yo-yo out again. "Looking for facts is also a big part of being a reporter. Maybe you need to think about that. Bug out."
Ladybug then swung away to retrieve the fox miraculous that Shadow Fox gave to Cat Noir.

“You all remember the plan?” Alya stared down the group of people gathered in her living room. “Because if you have any questions, now is the time to ask.”
“Honestly, I don’t think anyone was listening just now.” Alix rolled her eyes and huffed. “We’re exhausted, and we've been at this for weeks. What makes this plan any different?”
Alya knew her friends were tired, but she had to remain resolute. If she wanted her team of helpers to finish what they’d started, she knew that she needed to be the confident and optimistic leader they needed. Besides, this was the night that all their hard work would come to fruition.
It had to be.
Right?
She took a deep breath and plastered a smile on her face. “This time we’re keeping it simple. They’ll kiss for sure!”
“But that’s what you said about the winter carnival, the history project, the Secret Santa, and the mistletoe.” The jovial aura that usually surrounded Kim was noticeably missing, sending a pang of guilt through Alya’s chest. “Nothing has worked.”
Alya did her best not to cringe at the memories of their various mishaps. True, her previous plans had been a little intense, but it was worth the sacrifice. Marinette had done so much for all of them in the past, and Adrien deserved some happiness in his life. It was the least they could do for their friends.
“And let’s not forget the time we tried to lock them in that closet.” Alix’s frustration seemed to grow as she spoke. “Marinette sent Kim to the emergency room after that!”
Kim shuddered. “Don’t remind me. If I hadn’t run away, Marinette would have broken my arm for sure. I still can’t figure out how she busted down the door that fast. We were lucky that I walked away with a mild concussion instead of a cast.”
“Look, I know we’ve been at this for months, but trust me! It’s going to work this time.” Alya clenched a fist in front of her. “I just know it will.”
Removing his glasses, Nino pinched the bridge of his nose. “Babe, don’t get me wrong, it hurts to watch those two, but I don’t think we can handle another disaster. Every time we put those two together, Marinette flips.”
“Yes, but it’s not like we haven’t dealt with a jumpy Marinette in the past.” Panic began to settle in her gut as the energy in the room slowly died. “It’s just a little more than what we’re used to.”
“A little?” Nino closed his eyes and sighed. “Ms. Mendeleiev is still pissed about the fire in her lab last month, and we’re lucky that the museum isn’t making us pay for the broken windows.”
“Not to mention Juleka lost her eyebrows...twice,” Rose piped in from the back of the group. “I highly doubt she wants to lose them a third time.”
“They grew back,” Juleka mumbled, “It’s fine. Marinette and Adrien need us.”
“Yes! Thank you, Juleka! We can’t stop now!” She could hear the desperation in her own voice. “They are perfect for each other, and you know it!”
“Yes, and I want my bro to be happy. I really do.” Slumping in his seat, Nino looked defeated. “But at what cost?”
“You know as well as I do that it was even worse before we started doing all of this. Marinette wouldn’t even look at him, and Adrien walked around like a kicked puppy.” Giving up was not an option...not when they were so close.
“Yeah, I remember.” Nino collapsed onto the couch. “Adrien was so tight-lipped about the whole thing, and I thought he was going to burst into tears at any second. But this is getting dangerous, babe. You gotta admit that.”
“If only we knew what happened between them that made them act so weird around each other.” Alix chuckled. “Well...weirder than they usually are.”
“All we have to do is get them to sit on this couch together all night.” Alya couldn’t back down...not now. “No complicated schemes tonight. We just need to put the snacks in the right place so Adrien sits next to them. That boy is always hungry.”
Kim shook his head. “Okay, that’s great and all, but that only takes care of Adrien. How do you plan on getting Marinette to stay in one spot? What makes you think that she won’t leave the couch?”
“All of us are going to pair off and make it too awkward for her to join any group.” She was proud of this plan, but the hesitant looks on the faces around her planted a seed of doubt in her mind. “She’s getting here before Adrien, and I know she’ll retreat to the couch when she sees the rest of us already engaged in our own conversations.”
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m with Kim. That is the weakest plan I’ve ever heard.” Alix plopped onto the couch next to Nino, grabbed a pillow, shoved it against her face, and screamed. “This nightmare is never going to end!”
“No, it’s the perfect plan. Marinette is the kind of girl who is too polite to ram her way into a conversation between two people. My girl has class, and she hates being a third wheel.” Ignoring the uncertainty, Alya stood her ground. “Trust me.
“Well, I still think it’s a longshot, but it doesn’t involve fire or glass this time, so I guess I’m in.” Alix pointed her index finger toward Alya. “But this is the last time. After tonight we have to let them figure it out on their own.”
“Fine.” Once again feeling her confidence grow, Alya smiled. “But it’s going to work this time.”
“Whatever you say!” Alix said with a flippant wave of her hand.
It was going to work.
It had to.
What could possibly go wrong?
***
CRASH
With an outstretched hand, Adrien watched a punch-covered Marinette spring from the couch, run into Alya’s bedroom, and slam the door behind her. Where had he gone wrong?
It had been exactly three months, seventeen days, two hours, and twenty-eight minutes since Marinette, the love of his life, had accidentally revealed her identity to Chat Noir.
Her words from that day replayed in his head like a broken record. “I fell in love with a boy who apologized by giving me an umbrella after I thought he put gum on my seat.”
When everything clicked into place, he couldn’t not tell her who he was. At least that’s what he had thought at the time.
Perhaps pulling her into an embrace, whispering her name into her ear, and detransforming was not the best way to handle the situation, but how was he supposed to know that she would react so negatively? Not only was he her loyal partner, but he was also her crush. It seemed like a win-win! Right?
Wrong.
If he had known that she was going to avoid him for months on end, he would have done things differently. But the past was in the past, and he could only hope for a better future. Marinette was his lady, his light, his love. How was he supposed to declare his love if she kept running away?
“Follow her,” Alya whispered into his ear, pulling him away from his thoughts.
“What’s the point?” Adrien wanted to cry. “She told me that she loves me, but I’m not so sure that she does anymore.”
“Wait!” Holding up a hand, Alya had silenced the room with one word. “You’re kidding! That’s what happened? That’s why my girls been wigging out for months?”
Careful to avoid talking about the other reveal from that night, Adrien continued. “Yeah. It was a few months ago. I don’t think she meant to tell me.”
“Did you reject her or something?”
“No, not at all! I was overjoyed when I found out, but she ran away before I could respond.”
“That explains so much.”
He buried his face in his hands. “Maybe I’m scaring her off or something? I don’t know. Can you help me?”
Taking a seat next to him, Alya put a hand on his shoulder. “Would you like me to talk to her first? I can try to calm her down enough for you to talk to her.”
Hope fluttered in his chest. “That would be great. Thank you so much!”
He had the best friends.
“Wait here, Sunshine.” She hopped off of the couch and disappeared into her bedroom.
It felt like hours before Alya finally returned with the go-ahead for him to enter the room. He hopped off the couch, approached the door, and gave a tentative knock. His heart did backflips when he heard the soft “come in” from the other side of the door.
He turned the knob, slowly peeked his head in, and scanned the room. His elation was quickly replaced by concern when his eyes landed on a teary and disheveled Marinette sitting on the edge of the bed.
Despite the towel wrapped around her shoulders, she was still soaking wet with red punch. She looked miserable, and Adrien wanted nothing more than to wrap her in his arms and tell her that everything would be alright. But he was just here to talk.
Only talking.
For now.
“Hey,” he called out, closing the door behind him.
She sniffled and wiped her cheeks with the back of her hand. “Hi.”
He was pleasantly surprised when Marinette didn’t react as he crossed the room and took a seat next to her on the bed. So far so good.
Without thinking, his words tumbled out. “Marinette, we really need to talk.”
Her head shot up, and she turned to look at him. Her bottom lip trembled, and fresh tears streamed down her cheeks.
“I’m sorry,” she croaked out, “I messed everything up!”
“What?” Adrien couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “How?”
“Not only did I fail as Ladybug and reveal my identity, but I made everything awkward between us!”
“But you didn’t make anything awkward! I did!”
“No, it's my fault! Not yours. I’ve turned you down for two years because I was in love with you as a civilian. I ruined everything!”
“Oh, Marinette, no. Finding out about your crush was the greatest thing that ever happened to me...well, right after learning that my lady and the coolest girl I know are the same person.”
The corners of her mouth twitched into a smile. “Really?”
“Yeah, really.” He nodded. “I love you, Marinette.”
“You do?”
“I love you so much, and I’ve been trying to tell you for months. I didn’t think I could love a person more than I loved Ladybug, and then she turned out to be you, and I’ve never been so happy to have been proven wrong.”
“And all this time, I thought you were going to get mad at me.”
“Mad at you? No! Not at all!” He couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m overjoyed, but you kept running away from me, and you split up our patrol routes. I thought you were mad at me for telling you that I figured out your identity.”
“You thought I was mad at you?” She sobbed into her hands. “This really is a disaster.”
Screw it.
He was in love with her.
He couldn’t let her sit there and cry.
In one swift motion, Adrien leaned over, wrapped his arms around her, and pulled her into an embrace. She momentarily stiffened before collapsing against his chest and continuing to cry.
Hoping to calm her down before any purple butterflies paid them a visit, Adrien rubbed her back with his palm. “I’m not mad. I promise. I love you so much.”
“I love you, too.” Her voice was small and thick with tears, but they were the sweetest words he’d ever heard.
They sat in silence, allowing him to revel in the embrace. When Marinette eventually calmed down, she snuggled into his chest. It was a good thing that he wasn’t standing because if he had been, he would have definitely fallen over. She was so close and so beautiful. He could hardly contain his joy.
It was a beautiful moment that he wished could last forever...until she shivered.
Oh, right. She was covered in punch.
Here he was, enjoying the moment, letting his (hopefully) soon-to-be girlfriend freeze in wet clothes.
Refusing to let go, he rested his forehead against hers. “Hey, what do you say we get out of here?”
She shook her head. “But...it’s almost midnight, and I think Alya is expecting us to rejoin the party.”
“I think she’ll let it slide.” He placed a gentle kiss on her cheek. “After all, we wouldn’t want one of Paris’ heroes to get sick, right?”
Marinette giggled. “Yeah, okay.”
She was too cute.
The sound of her laughter was more beautiful than a symphony, and he would do anything to hear it again. He pulled her to her feet and laced his fingers between hers. They managed to leave the party without any qualms from their friends, and soon they found themselves standing on the sidewalk in the cold winter air.
When her teeth started chattering, his grip tightened around her hand before he quickly dragged her into an alley.
“Adrien!” she squeaked, “What are you doing?”
“Plagg, CLAWS OUT!” His transformation illuminated the space around them. “My lady, would you allow me the honor of escorting you home?”
She giggled again. “What’s gotten into you, you silly cat?”
He almost melted on the spot. She was going to kill him. Adrien was but a mere mortal. How was he supposed to survive if she kept being so freaking adorable?
“I’m taking you home the express route.” He held out his hand. “If you’ll let me, that is.”
She nodded and took a step toward him. Adrien swept her into his arms, knees nearly giving out when she wrapped her arms around the back of his neck.
All too soon, they touched down on her balcony; however, even after he lowered her feet to the ground, she didn’t let go.
Goodness, he was so in love.
“We should really get you inside,” he whispered, resting his hands on her waist. “You should put on some dry clothes.”
“Not yet.” She bit her lip as she looked up and met his gaze. “It was soaking wet when I fell in love with you, so it’s only fitting that I’m covered with punch when I do this.
He swallowed. “D-do what?”
Her hands cupped his face as she drew closer. “This.”
The world came to a screeching halt as her lips met his. Her fingers moved to the back of his head, deepening the kiss. It was everything he’d ever dreamed of and more. Her breath became his lifeline, his soul dreading the moment they had to part.
They smiled under the kiss, causing their teeth to clack and their noses to bump, but it was perfect nonetheless. This was his lady, the girl under the mask he swore he’d love no matter what.
When they pulled apart, they fell into a laughing heap on the ground. Cheers erupted around them as fireworks lit up the sky. It was as if the universe itself was celebrating with them.
“I guess that’s one way to ring in the New Year.” She turned her head towards the sky. “This year, we should definitely kiss like that every day.”
“I think that’s one resolution I can definitely keep.” He kissed her forehead. “And maybe we could even kiss more than once a day?”
“I’d like that.” She grabbed his bell and pulled him down to her level. “Let’s start now.”
Adrien was more than happy to oblige.

So…
As I said, after my theory and salt rant on the spoilers and trailers for the episode “Crocoduel” (link down below)
I would probably say my thoughts on the episode after I was done watching the episode itself. So, here I am. :)
Also, I’m on a road trip with my family and some family friends, so I watched the episode and typed this up late (or early) night (or morning) so…:p
Anyways! Before I start saying my thoughts on the episode, let’s do a summary or a synopsis of the episode.
Warning: Spoilers for “Crocoduel”
The episode starts during Kitty Section Rehearsal. Everyone is having fun, while Kitty Section is playing. When Kitty Section finished their set and everyone was praising them Luka all of sudden mentions that Marinette hasn’t been to rehearsals in a while, which leads Luka to think that she’s avoiding him, which also leads to him starting to get depressed. Everyone tries to reassure him that she isn’t avoiding him, she’s just really busy (mainly Rose). It doesn’t work and Luka gets more depressed and leaves the group. The group then tries to make a plan to help Luka and Marinette by exploiting the twins b-day.They ask Juleka if she approves of the plan and she nods. Juleka then tells Luka about the party that they’re having on the boat. Luka gets excited to see Marinette and everyone at the party. After, Marinette finds about the party on the Liberty she’s able to piece together the groups plan and ask Juleka if she can somehow find a way for Luka not to be there at the party. Juleka tries to tell or ask Luka if he can’t attend the party, but she doesn’t have the heart to tell him. Then, all of sudden Jagged comes the through the porthole of the twins room. Jagged gives Luka the attention while Juleka is in the corner. Anarka burst into room to tell Jagged he is not allowed on the boat, which results in Jagged being invited to the twins b-day party. On the day of the party, while everyone is going down to the Liberty, Juleka starts to feel anxious about not being able to comply to everyone’s wishes. When Marinette goes to thank Juleka she sees Luka and starts to panic and leaves below deck. Luka takes this as a sign she doesn’t want to be his friend anymore and starts feeling depressed, which almost causes his akumatization Luckily, everyone is there to reassure and comfort him. Meanwhile, with Juleka and Marinette, Marinette asks her why Juleka wasn’t able to not invite Luka, which Juleka starts to feel guilty about it which almost causes her akumatization, but Marinette is there to comfort her. Cue, Jagged coming aboard the Liberty and greets Luka. They go downstairs so Jagged can give his present to Luka. Juleka starts to feel left out and Marinette calls him out. Jagged explain to them that it was a misunderstanding and tells them that the gift was for Juleka and the gift Luka gets is an old record of Jagged and Anarka’s is old music. Anarka sees this and tells him not give Luka that because it’s the reason they fell apart. Jagged disagrees with Anarka and they get into argument, which results in both of them being akumatized. Everyone evacuates the boat and watches the two akumas. The akumas instead of putting an onslaught on Paris they fight each other in a battle. But, when Ladybug appears and intervenes they both go after her. Meanwhile, Adrien is getting ready for a photoshoot (i assume idrk and idrc :)) and sees the commotion and transforms into Chat Noir. (ok guys yk the drill) Ladybug and Chat Noir fight against the akumas, then Ladybug has to use Lucky Charm. The charm leads her to get Juleka and give her the tiger miraculous, which debuts the super heroine Tigress Pourpre (or purple tiger as it said in the english sub :)). Meanwhile, the akumas bring their fight up to the sky and have a stare down before the two super heroines intervene. They get the akumatized object. Tigress uses her power “Collision” (which i still don’t know what it does other than it sends a power full force or punch). They capture the akuma and Ladybug does her Miraculous Ladybug and everything returns as the way it was before the akuma attack. Jagged and Anarka start arguing again until Juleka finally stands up and yells at them to talk instead of argue. They two are shocked, but comply and they make up. The party continues, Jagged and Juleka have their little moment, and Marinette and Luka have a talk about how Marinette avoiding Luka made him feel, which ends on them agreeing to be friends. End of episode.
Wow! That was a long, detailed, and unnecessary summary, but, oh well it’s too late now. :p
Now onto my thoughts on this whole episode :)
So, let’s start off from the beginning. I liked how the costumes were the exact same as the “Silencer” episode, EXACTLY the same :) (you can tell i’m being sarcastic) But, in all seriousness I wish the outfits were a bit different, but I get it, I still like the original costumes though. Luka being sad about Marinette really struck a sad chord in my heart (because I have a soft spot for Luka). And when Rose tried to cheer up Luka by saying she was just busy with water ponies and all that, some might find that stuff endearing and funny, but tbh I found that kinda unnecessary. Not to mention, the way Rose described Marinette’s favorite “water pony” “Pom Pony” it suspiciously sounded a lot like Adrien Freaking Sunshine Agreste. I mean “has a gold mane. that is just so good to brush! But he is super sensible” doesn’t that ring a bell of some kind, it’s kinda obvious with the gold mane, but then again I might be looking to far into that. Anyway, moving forward, I know Juleka is kinda like the outcast or the seventh wheel of the group, but like come on! It was clear that she didn’t think that the plan was great idea, but she just didn’t have the courage to say anything. Like, can’t anyone see that she seems uncomfortable. But, I guess that was a bit redeemed when they gave us a cute julerose moment. Moving forward, to when Alya was talking to Marinette, so the scene itself wasn’t that bad, but when Marinette went up and said and I quote “But…it’s going to be so weird! You know that Luka loves me and I love Adrien! And every time we see each other. he gets hurt because he knows I will never feel the same!”, “You know that Luka loves me and I love Adrien!” “I LoVe AdRiEN!?”. I swear to everything that is keeping me sane if I hear Marinette mention how much she LoVeS AdRiEn and how much she wishes he would notice her I’m going to lose it. I mean, all crushes are valid, but come on! Do we a need a reminder EVERY FREAKING EPISODE! Also, where are the Adrien pictures I swear they were there before, but idk. Also, for once I agree with Alya, she can’t keep avoiding Luka I mean look at this sad boy…
Tumblr media
I don’t wanna see this boy frown I wanna see this boy happy and play happy chords on his guitar not sad ones :( Anyway, more into the episode, I feel so bad for Juleka. She really was everyone’s scapegoat this episode. Not to mention, how she felt left out and guilty at the same time. For one, not being as acknowledged as one should be on their b-day on both her family and friends. And then she also felt guilty for not complying to Marinette’s request and feeling bad if she did comply to Marinette’s request. Moving along with the episode, I know that Jagged being Luka and Juleka’s dad is a big “shocker” but come on Marinette you knew that Jagged was Luka’s dad you were there! It so easy to piece together that he’s also Juleka’s father too because, well they’re twins! But, I digress. Speaking of twins, everyone is aware that Luka and Juleka are twins, but (and yes I am bringing this back up) in the synopsis they only say “Juleka’s Birthday”, I would’ve played it off if no one knew that they were twins and it was supposed to be a big reveal where everyone found they were twins (even if Astruc spoiled it already) but no, everyone was aware that they were twins, so I don’t see why it they couldn’t have just added his name in or said the Twin’s Birthday. But, okay I guess they’re just lazy. So, where was I? Oh, right! So,Marinette goes below deck and Juleka follows and in which results in Marinette comforting her. And I feel like that this is the reassurance that Juleka needed, to know that everything was going to be ok because when you look at her face in that scene all her negative thoughts leave her and she feels liberated of some sorts. Fast forward to when the parents get akumatized, three words Couffaine Family Drama and that’s it, that’s legit all I got on that. Anyways! Onto when Ladybug intervened in the akuma fight, I still don’t get why they had to include the scene of Adrien getting ready for something, I kinda think that scene was a bit unnecessary. Like, even if that scene wasn’t included in the final cut of the episode I would’ve been fine, but okay we’ll just deal with the scene. Not to mention, they had to make Chat Noir appear right after Ladybug get hits by the canon ball, some people say coincidence, I say convenient. Now, let’s talk about the lady of the hour, the new super heroine, Tigress Pourpe! I LOVE HER! and I’m not joking. Even when Juleka met Roar, her kwami, I was like “YES!” because Roar actually is the one that helps Juleka get her confidence to help her in suit and out. Not to mention, the relationship between the two is really cute. Even, Juleka’s suit is beautiful and very detailed and you can see the confidence that the Juleka has in the suit. And I AM HERE FOR IT! I also love that Juleka’s super heroine identity is apart of her overall character arc because of how you can see that Juleka standing up to her parents is the first step for her to be able to overcome her anxieties and become more confident in herself. Also, the Jagged and Juleka moment was so cute. I kinda underestimated Jagged as father figure. You can really see that he is trying his best to spend time and provide for his kids and I love it. Now onto the final scene, first of all, I am so relieved that Luka didn’t say “You and Adrien are meant to be” because I swear if he did I would’ve been dead on the floor. Second of all, I freaking melted when Luka said “it hurt more not to see you”. You can tell how much Luka loves and cares about Marinette when he only needs to be her friend to be satisfied, he doesn’t have to be in a serious relationship with her he just needs to be her friend and be able to see her. Luka deserves so much more than what the show has given him.
And with that my rant and review on the episode “Crocoduel” is finished.
I know I probably left some things out, but if I have an epiphany I’ll probably just post it later. Now that this is finished I’ll probably also do a rant or review on the episode “Wishmaker” because I’m very hyped to see it and I know I’ll have a lot to say about it.
And with that I hope everyone has a great rest of their day (or night)! :)
And always remember…
But that’s just my opinion (・ε・)

I kinda like the fanfics of mlb where Gabriel made his wish then everything goes wrong and he totally regrets it?
So i made a fic.....
✿✼:*゚:.。..。.:*・゚゚・*✧・:*。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆
Rückkehrunruhe
Ladybug- no, Marinette limped to the side of the lair where Cha- Adrien laid. With her legs broken and her ribs fractured she grunted in pain as she moved to her partner's side. Adrien opened one of his bloodied eyes to see Marinette moving to his side. He silently held her hand as their heads meet.
Hawkmoth won. They lost.
Their breathing was uneven as their exhausted body lay injured on the ground. They closed their eyes as they let their tears fall. Then they heard the transformation words in Hawkmoth's mouth. It triggered them both harder.
"Chaton, I'm sorry“, her voice quivered and shook as her sobs escape her mouth. Adrien rub circles in her hand as he held it tightly.
" You shouldn't be Lad- Marinette", he replied.
"No. I let everyone down. I let Hawkmoth win. And I know this isn't your ideal plan for us to reveal ourselves. I'm sorry", she explained with a heavy heart and tears still flowing endlessly.
" Hey, hey. We did the best we could to protect the miraculous. These injuries we have proves that we fought a good fight. And I don't care how we reveal ourselves, I'm just glad that it's you.", he gave her a small smile as he held her both hands. Marinette felt more tears as she hugged Adrien and let her sobs and tears escape.
"I'm also glad it's you, Chaton"
They hugged each other tightly as they felt a blinding light over to where Hawkmoth stands. He was going to make the wish.
"If we ever had the chance to meet again. I would like to take you out on a date.", he murmured in her hair.
" I'd wait for you."
"I'll love you in a hundred lifetimes M'lady"
"Me too"
They closed their eyes as their vision went black.
On the other side of the room stood Hawkmoth- or also known as Gabriel Agreste as the cold jewels of the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous lay in his hands. The red and black kwami stared at him, frowning.
"You are going to regret this old man", the black cat kwami hissed in remark yet Gabriel paid no attention to it.
He quickly removed his brooch and threw it on the side of the grotto. He clipped the ladybug earrings to his ears and slipped the ring to his finger next to where the Graham De Vanily twin rings were.
"You are going to regret this Gabriel", the ladybug kwami said in a warning tone. He doesn't care. As long as his beloved Emily lives, he doesn't give a shit.
" Tikki, Plagg unify!", his shout echoed the room as power surges through his veins. In years of studying the Miraculous, he has always known the power these two main jewels hold. It was simply exhilarating. His form changed as he entered the powerful state any man can hold.
"Gabriel Agreste, you only have one wish we can grant. Yet it requires a great sacrifice-", a double toned voice spoke in the middle of his state
"I would sacrifice anything", he cut off the being that was talking to him.
" Then, it shall be granted", it spoke again after minutes of silence.
A white flash glowed from the room until it expanded and expanded and Gabriel was enveloped in this blinding light until everything went black.
Gabriel groggily opened his eyes and saw that he was not in the grotto anymore. He was laying on a soft bed with pillows and a blanket. Wait, did his wish worked? Was it all a dream? He looked around and saw that everything was pretty much the same.
He quickly sat up straight and saw the jewels at his bedside. And he breathed a heavy sigh. He scanned his surroundings and saw a figure lying beside him. It was a blonde lady. His eyes became watery as the lady turned her face and it revealed a sleeping Mrs. Agreste.
She opened her emerald green eyes and stared at him for a bit. She rubbed her eyes and sat up straight as her eyes met his.
"Gabriel?", as his name escape her lips Gabriel felt as if his world came back to life. He hugged his wife as some tears threatened to fall.
"What's happening?“, she said with her bedroom voice. But it sounded sad and strained. Gone was the happiness and the sunshine that he used to love and adore.
" Mr. and Mrs. Agreste, breakfast is ready", a voice echoed across the bedroom as a maid called them
Gabriel and his wife dressed for the day and exited the master's bedroom. Gabriel looked around the halls and saw pictures of a little Adrien and in the middle hall stood a large portrait of their family. He expected to see Adrien smiling and beaming while holding his mother. But instead, he saw Adrien having a stoic and emotionless look on his face.
Where is Adrien? And Nathalie?
He and his wife went to the dining room-still excessive as ever- as they sat down and their breakfast is served.
Yet Adrien isn't arriving. Is he okay?
"Is Nathalie here?", he asked his wife quietly chewing on a croissant. She looked at him with confused eyes.
" Gabriel..she died 10 years ago in Tibet remember?", she looked at him as if he was being weird.
"O-oh? Yeah, I must've forgotten", she just shrugged at him as she scrolled along with her phone not even looking at him.
Where was Emelie who was kind as an angel that he loved? Is this Emelie now?
"-Adrien, please"
Gabriel's ears perked as he heard the name of his son. His eyes immediately darted in the grand foyer as his son trots down the stairs. He wasn't like what he used to look like. His hair was a bit shorter and wild. While his clothes weren't the usual Gabriel™ shirt and polo, it was a gray turtle neck and a black leather jacket paired with black jeans.
"Adrien! I'm glad you're here, come join your mother and me in breakfast!", he enthusiastically said.
Gabriel expected an excited approval and an Adrien speeding to the dining hall but instead, all he got was a disgusting stare and an Adrien rolling his eyes at him.
Did he just roll his eyes on him?
"Adrien, I believe your father asked you to join us for breakfast.", Emélie's stern and scolding voice echoed the mansion's halls.
" Pfft...Me? Join you? No, I'll pass", he snorted and chuckled as if what his mother said was a joke.
Gabriel couldn't believe everything that is happening. Was this still a dream? Is this his granted wish?
"That's what public school have done to you, you're becoming a spoiled brat", Emelie's voice laced with hatred as she scolds their child.
" You're really silly these days, mother. They simply opened my eyes to the bullshit you two put me through", Adrien innocently yet irritatingly said.
"Adrien! Don't talk to your mother like that!", Gabriel found himself talking and scolding Adrien. This is not what he expected.
" Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to eat breakfast with my girlfriend not with you two ", Gabriel's eyes widened with the sudden mentioned of a girlfriend. His son turned quite rebellious how about the reputation they have to uphold?
" You h-have a g-girlfriend?", he silently whispered but Adrien seemed to hear it he turned his head and leaned into Gabriel. His father was uncomfortable with space their in and decided to move a little.
"Hey, mother? Your husband must've hit his head pretty bad this morning", he laughed dryly and fixed his bag.
" You-
"Bye old man", he exited the two big doors. While Gabriel, still in shock sat down at the dining table again. When did this go so wrong?
Is this what do they call a prank? If it is it's not funny at all, he thought while continuing to eat his breakfast.
" I'm done. I will prepare for my rehearsal for the upcoming movie. Call me when your spoiled son decides to come home", she said with a cold tone.
Gabriel tried not to stutter as he finds the right words to say. What in the world happened?
After Emelie left the mansion- without a single goodbye- Gabriel decided to investigate why this was the result of what's happening now. He walked around the house to see what changed. In the garden, gone was Emelie's statue that sat by the roses. The flowers were still the same. When Gabriel decided it is time to leave he heard voices of the gardeners murmuring in hushed voices.
"-if I were Adrien I would have done the same. Imagine being locked up and scolded in your childhood. That would be traumatic."
"Well, that's Mrs. Agreste. She likes everything to be perfect. While Mr. Agreste only likes to do whatever his wife tells him to do"
When one of the gardeners looked in his direction, he immediately went into a panic.
"Mr. Agreste! H-how long h-have you b-been s-standing there?" He stuttered.
But Gabriel instead looked at him with a blank expression and left the garden area. Why is everything being the exact opposite of what he wanted? Is this some kind of joke?
Then by noon, Gabriel decided to see things for himself. He asked his driver to drive by Adrien's school. As they arrived in Collègè Françoise Dupont. He spotted his son on a nearby bench. He has some company. A girl with midnight hair which Gabriel noticed was indeed Miss Dupain-Cheng, the holder of the ladybug miraculous.
They were making out by the bench. But Miss Dupain-Cheng was also different from the way she used to be. Pigtails, and everything pink. Now it was all red and dark colors.
When Miss Dupain-Cheng spotted the car. She stopped kissing his son and whispered something to his ear that made him look his way. Gabriel saw the way his son's lips turn into a frown.
He grabbed his girlfriend's arm and his belongings and went to a place where he can no longer see them. When they were gone Gabriel leaned into his chair and breathed a heavy sigh. This was all too much. He closed his eyes and tried to remember the days where Adrien still has that smile that radiates like the sun-similar to his mother- instead of the looks of hatred and disgust he sends to him now.
When he got back home it was already dark. The mansion was cold like it was when Emelie is still in a magical coma.
He spots his wife by the dining table eating her dinner.
"Where have you been?", she asks
Gabriel winced by the tone she used.
" Outside. Waiting for Adrien", he answered.
She snorted and rolled her eyes. And she continues cutting the steak with her fork and knife.
"Claire? Where is Adrien?", his wife asked the secretary. Standing in the place where Nathalie was supposed to stand.
" I d-don't know Madam. He hasn't arrived yet", the secretary replied with a slight shake in her voice. Emelie just frowned.
When they finished dinner, Adrien has not yet arrived. Emelie was scrolling something on her phone. And the mansion was covered in the deafening silence that you can hear even a pin drop.
After a few hours, the mansion doors flew opened and it showed an Adrien that is slightly disheveled and definitely reeks of alcohol. Gabriel almost got sick with the smell, yet Adrien paid no attention to his parents.
"Well, it's about time you come home. I was worried you'll just go with your whore girlfriend and be like wild animals", Emelie's voice echoed across the foyer as she descended the stairs slowly.
Gabriel was by the living room. And his eyes laid on Adrien who was gripping his bag tightly that you could see the white in his knuckles already.
He chuckled bitterly. "At least I know that my girlfriend treated me better than all of you did", he spat with hate and bitterness
" I raised you! And this is what you repay me?!", Emelie shouted. Gabriel was torn in who was he supposed to calm first. If was wearing his miraculous he would be overwhelmed by the anger and tension he was feeling as he stands in the middle of the mansion.
"Well, this is the effect of being raised by you! Don't blame me for what I am now because you raised me!", he shouted back
" Adrien!", Gabriel shouted and Adrien didn't even bother to look at his face.
"You ungrateful son. You are no longer deserving of an Agreste name, I don't want to have a son that is so atrocious and ill-mannered!", Emelie's voice dripped with hate as she shouted those words to their son who was fuming.
"It's not like I want to be an Agreste in the first place anyway", he grimaced as he spoke with the same level of hate. He marched up to his room and slammed it so hard that it feels like the door was about to break. And Emelie went back up straight to the master's bedroom.
Gabriel stood in the living room frozen. It was awful. Everything is not what he wanted. He wanted to curse the little gods for not giving what he wanted.
All he felt was regret. He was supposed to be happy- they were supposed to be happy. But everything is just dark, cold, and depressing. Emelie was alive and they were complete but they were also broken and knowing that it cannot be fixed added weight in his heart. He got what he wanted but all he felt was regret.

AO3
The whisper of wind in his ears, the tap of boots on the tin roofs, the pigeons nesting among the chimneys, cooing to the spring in his step. Chat Noir ran high over the streets, reveling in this late April evening, basking in the fading light of day.
 Everything in his path was blooming recklessly, fueled by sunshine, turning the warmth of spring into an opulent palette of greens, whites, yellows, pinks, and every other color one could think of.
 It wouldn’t have been far from the truth if Chat claimed he floated on the breeze. It certainly felt like it. Butterflies, the good kind, not the evil purple ones that’d been giving them so much grief, fluttered happily in his stomach. His chest swelled with affection as if it tried to contain all the smells and scents at once.
 His heart was so full he was ready to burst into song any second now. And snugly pressed to his chest was none other than the bravest, prettiest, awesomest, and the most amazing girl he knew. The love of his life, sans the spots. Marinette Dupain-Cheng. His Lady. His girlfriend. His everything.
Her hair tickled the exposed skin under his chin, but he was too focused on carrying his precious cargo to utter a chuckle. It was her who giggled happily instead.
 “I really could have gotten home myself, silly Kitty,” she murmured to his sternum. Only his enhanced hearing allowed him to pick up the words over the rush of air and the buzz of traffic.
 “A gentlecat always walks the lady home after a date,” he countered, allowing a little bit of flirt to seep into his voice.
 A date! he thought excitedly, his heart skipping a few beats. The very first real one, official and everything. Not that anyone paid attention to two goofy teens sharing an ice cream, walking down the banks of the Seine and doing all the carefree, silly things teens did. Bantering, picking flowers, playing tag just because. Holding hands, stealing glances, blushing. Basically half of Adrien’s bucket list went down on that date, more than he could ever hope for. It was still very fresh—the romantic side of their relationship, just like nature herself, coming to life with spring—yet he doubted the excitement of enjoying her company on both sides of their masks would ever ebb.
 Alas, their time had run out all too quickly. For unfathomable reasons their parents set a curfew and warned them not to break it. Yet Adrien refused to leave Marinette to return home by herself. He announced his arrival at the mansion, claiming he was exhausted after a busy day, and dashed off to his room. The door barely had time to close behind him when Chat Noir was already leaping through the window. He scooped Marinette into his arms and vaulted them high and away from the prying eyes of pedestrians. Just a little run and they were already on the little balcony of 12 Rue Gotlib.
 It wasn’t dusk yet, although darkness already settled over the city thanks to the rain clouds that flocked from the west, keeping the last rays of spring sun to themselves. A silver half-moon peeked tentatively over the rooftops, picking up the slack.
 Unexpectedly the sight filled him with nostalgia. “Anything can happen at half-moon,” Chat recited absently. He didn’t remember where he’d heard the verse.
 “Anything?” Marinette frowned in confusion. After all, they had just spent a delightful afternoon together. Why would his mood turn wistful so suddenly?
 He decided to play it off. He grinned cheekily. “Like maybe … a kiss?”
 He was pushing his luck, he knew. They hadn’t reached that milestone yet, still tiptoeing around each other after the accidental reveal, still testing the waters, although neither of them was oblivious to the other’s feelings anymore.
 To his astonishment Marinette fixed him with a coy smile and threw her hands around his neck. She climbed to her toes. “Maybe,” she whispered, her lips a hairbreadth away from his. Her eyes twinkled in the moonlight.
 Chat released a ragged breath against her mouth. He shuddered from head to toe as he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her flush against him. His body screamed for her, longed for her presence. But he wouldn’t dare to make the first step. He always followed her lead. He had to be sure it was what she wanted, even if he knew it wasn’t in her nature to tease him like this.
 And then Marinette was kissing him. Sweetly, tenderly, with just a hint of passion simmering underneath. The gentle caress shrunk his world to just her and this moment.
 He was sure he died, his heart flatlining out of sheer euphoria, his neurons fried from overjoy, his body coming apart at the seams. He floated to heaven and then her kisses brought him back to life. Back to the warmth of her embrace, to the flowery scent of her skin, and to soft kisses he knew he would never have enough of.
 All too soon she withdrew, leaving his lips tingling and cold. He stumbled, dizzy with love in his heart and springtime in his lungs.
 She must have thought he was being dramatic, because she ruffled his already wild mane.
 “Goof,” she giggled. “Go home, before you catch a cold.”
 “A cold?” He knitted his brows. “Why would I catch a cold now?”
 “It’s raining, you dork.” Marinette bopped him on the nose and turned her hands up. A few plump droplets splashed on her palm.
 Huh? How long did that kiss take? He hadn’t noticed when the rain started. Either those clouds had been moving faster than he’d thought, or he might have been more distracted than usual. Lately he tended to get tunnel vision in Marinette’s company, tuning out everyone and everything while soaking in her presence.
 From behind the deck chair Marinette produced a black umbrella. She pressed it into his claws. “This is no dew, Kitty. It’s going to pour heavily soon.”
 “Really?” He chuckled. She walked straight into this one. “I’m purring already, my Lady.” He grabbed her hand and put it to his chest. Then he released a rumble worthy of a thunderstorm.
 “Besides, where I stand, the sun is shining all over the place.” He dropped the cheesy line with a flourish.
 “See, you’re already delirious,” Marinette replied matter-of-factly. “Also, yes, I’m very proud of you for getting the ‘Singing in the Rain’ reference, you dorkasaurus,” she added, seeing his pout of indignation. “Now go, before you get wet for real.”
 “Didn’t you mean furrrrr real?” he started, but dropped it immediately when she set him with one of Ladybug’s finest glowers. “A kiss good night, purrrhaps?” he asked hopefully.
 Marinette grabbed him by the bell with such force, his hand slipped on the umbrella’s handle. She pressed her lips to his, but with more fire than sugar this time.
 Snap! The black canopy sprang to its full size, startling them both.
 “Sorry! Sorry!” Chat exclaimed, but Marinette just shook her head, launching into a fit of laughter. It was impossible not to join her.
 “This umbrella is absolutely terrible,” she wheezed, clutching at her belly. “The ultimate killjoy.”
 “You mean this is …” He trailed off, finally giving the umbrella a thorough look. Sure enough, he soon found the loopy ‘Agreste’ carved into the handle. “Oh, wow,” he whispered reverently. Marinette had mentioned the significance of that first rain they’d experienced together.
 “Yup. And I want it back, mind you,” she added.
 “This is an Agreste umbrella. You’d need to marry me for the name to check out, Princess.” Chat shot her with a toothy grin.
 “Did you just propose on the first date, Adrien?” She raised a brow. “You might want to save something for the second one.”
 “Ooops.” He feigned a horrified gasp. Incidentally, that absolutely had been on his bucket list. This was Marinette after all. “I’m gonna have to google some new ideas. But anyway, your answer would be …?”
 Marinette shook her head again and thrusted her hand into his face. “You’re impossible. Just go home already before we both catch a cold.”
 Right. He hadn’t noticed her shivering in the cold evening breeze, and the rain probably wasn’t helping.
 “As you wish, m’Lady.” He bowed. “See you tomorrow?”
 “Tomorrow it is, my Prince,” she replied with a curtsy, raising the imaginary fabric of a long dress with her fingers. Then with one last playful wink, she disappeared through the skylight.
 Chat sighed in contentment, drawing in the chilly, humid air. He didn’t feel even a little bit tired, more like ignited after the spectacular afternoon of romance, flirting, and banter. He leaped to the railing and elongated his baton so that it hit the pavement. Then, like a leather-clad Mary Poppins, he floated down, startling a few passersby.
 “Du-dudu-du, du-du-dudu-dee-dudu,” he hummed under his breath, setting into a leisurely stroll. The rain picked up a heavier rhythm, just like Marinette predicted.
 “Du-dudu-du, du-du-dudu-dee-dudu.” He continued letting his inner Gene Kelly come out and play. He always wanted to perform that song, ever since he’d watched the movie with his father ages ago. And what better place to do so than the Parisian streets, a classy background to the classic number?
 He already felt the tune bubbling in his throat. He couldn’t contain it any longer even if he tried. With a theatrical shrug he folded the umbrella and propped it against his shoulder. His lips stretched into a dreamy smile when he set off again. Then came the song.
 “I'm siiiingin' in the rain, just siiiiiingin' in the rain.” His voice carried over the street, earning him a few confused glances. He gave his audience a little wink.
 “What a gloooorious feeling, I'm haaaaaappy again,” he claimed, jumping onto a lampost. “I'm laughing at clouds. So daaaark up above. The sun's in my heart ...” Chat’s smile turned into something more smitten as he gazed upon a certain balcony looming in the distance, “… and I'm reeeeeady for loooove.”
 “Let the stoooormy clouds chase everyone from the place.” He waved at a couple making their way through the rain, hiding under an already-soaked newspaper. They chuckled at his antics and clapped, rewarding his performance.
 Encouraged, Chat turned his face to the sky while throwing his arms to the sides in a truly musical fashion. “Come on with the rain! I've a smile on my face!”
 He resumed his walk, nonchalantly swinging the umbrella in large circles. “I walk down the lane, with a haaaaaaaappy refrain. Just singing, singing iiiiiiiin the rain.”
 Chat spotted a few phones aimed at him and chuckled inwardly. People always looked for a scoop. Alya was going to be so angry she missed this. He could almost hear her gritting her teeth. Let's give them a show, he thought as his feet carried out the routine, a mix of waltz and tap dancing.
 “Daaaaaancing in the rain,” he howled. “La-daaaa-da-da-di-daaaaAAA. I'm happy again.” He grabbed the umbrella as if it were a ukulele and struck a chord, making an elated face, as if he were Luka’s more handsome twin. “I'm singin' and dancing in the rain.”
 More tap dancing followed. Chat finally found a way to release all the pent-up energy that had come from the afternoon spent with the love of his life. He tapped, he stepped, he pirouetted, for his joy and for the entertainment of a significant crowd that had gathered to witness his performance. The umbrella was his partner, his pendulum, his microphone and staff. Oh, how versatile a prop this was! Chat leaped like a very wet ballerina, jumped over the puddles or right into them, frolicking in a totally unfeline manner, splashing the water onto himself and all around. A reckless, unstoppable dancing and singing machine.
 Slosh! A wall of cold water washed over him, effectively ending the show. He wiped the liquid from his eyes only to see a very familiar red-clad figure holding a polka-dotted bucket, which must have been the source of his unexpected and involuntary shower.
 Concern marred Ladybug’s face. She breathed heavily—she must have been running fast to get here. But why did she have to be such a … what had Marinette said? Ah, an ultimate killjoy.
 “Why did you go and do that?” he complained, frowning in accusation. Water dripped from his soaked hair right into his ears. Both pairs.
 Ladybug narrowed her eyes at him. “The neighbors were complaining about some caterwauling felines and I decided to investigate in case there was an akuma,” she said.
 Chat shook his head, trying to get rid of the ear leak. “Well, was there?”
 His partner raised a brow and smirked, taking in his drenched form.
 “Oh.” It suddenly dawned on Chat that maybe performing a musical number in a city regularly haunted by mind-controlling villains wasn’t the best of ideas. “Sorry,” he said sheepishly, then shivered. “I’m cold,” he added.
 “Awww, poor kitty,” Ladybug cooed. She relaxed her shoulders, no longer alert. “I need to take you home.” She tangled her yo-yo around a chimney, grabbed him at the waist and in the next moment they were already soaring over the streets.
 She stopped on a roof a block away from the mansion. Her timing was perfect, as usual.
 “AAAACHOOOOO!” Chat’s sneeze was so powerful Plagg flew out of the ring, taking the leather suit with him. The little kwami didn’t look happy in the least.
 “Awww, shucks.” Adrien trembled. “Now it’s even colder.”
 “You don’t say,” Plagg grumbled. He was dripping wet.
 Ladybug sighed in disbelief. She scooped the sprite into her hand and hid him in her pigtail. Then she proceeded to lift Adrien princess style and set off in the direction of his house. Unseen and undetected by the mansion’s security system, she slipped through the bathroom window and into the warmth of his room.
 A true hero, the epitome of helpfulness, she grabbed a blanket from the bed and wrapped him tight. Then, with a towel she had taken from the bathroom, she gave Plagg the same treatment.
 “I’m gonna leave you to change and go to sleep,” she finally declared. “No more clowning!” She pointed a finger at Adrien.
 He gave her an innocent blink. Alas, Ladybug seemed to be immune to his charm. Or maybe it was just late for her. After all he had caused her to leave the dry room and investigate an alleged akuma attack. He decided to step up his game.
 “Maybe a good-night kiss?” He fluttered his golden lashes hopefully. That always got a nice fluster out of Marinette.
 “Haven’t you gotten like two already?” she frowned.
 “Nuh-uh, that was Chat. Adrien didn’t get any,” he complained. “Besides”—he fixed her with the delightful smile of a teenage heartthrob, his voice lowering to a murmur—“three is the charm, as Lady Luck should be perfectly aware.”
 Ladybug tapped her lip thoughtfully. “Well,” she drawled, stepping closer, “you do make a compelling argument …” Then she closed the space between them.
 Meowrrr, the cat in him uttered. Three was definitely the charm.

Miraculous: Rise of Anatis 44
Another terrible episode down. I hate this one as well. It's just as cringy as Puppeteer 2 but I couldn't resist a chance to have Luka help out Marinette. I'm a sucker for cute Lukanette moments. Anyway, try to enjoy this as best as you can. This is the best I could do but I still dislike it. Also Sasha Mallard is my cameo appearance. Sasha can be shortened to Sassy and Mallard is type of duck. Sasha Mallard = Sassy Duck. I figured since Thomas Astruc can put himself into the episode so can I haha. Though Sasha isn't my real name but it does contain my name :)

Chapter Forty-Four: Animaestro
"Oh, I can totally get you an interview with the director of the Anatis and Lady Noir film," Lila gasped as she walked into the canteen with Alya, causing Marinette to roll her eyes. There is no way she knew the director and Marinette wanted to shout out and call her out on it but she knew Lila would just turn it around on her. She took a deep breathe and focused on her happy place, feeling her mind relax and calm down. Lila might be a liar and Marinette wanted nothing more then to call her out but that would ruin the plan and that in the long run would bring her way more satisfaction this way. Anatis intended to bring her down once and for all. He saw as the threat she really was and he was more then happy to take out but he wanted to make sure she could not lie her way out of it. It made Marinette feel relief as she had someone else on her side other then Luka. Not that she didn't want Luka on her side. It was just nice to have someone else as well. "We're like super close. He even asked me to help build the characters of Anatis and Lady Noir because of how close I am to them,"
 "Girl, that is so cool," Alya gasped as she listened, completely entranced by it. "Will you be going to the premier?"
 "Of course, I will," She grinned as they joined the line at the canteen. "Thomas gave me and my mama VIP passes to thank me for my help,"
 "Oh wow, girl, that is so cool," Alya gasped as she helped Lila carry her food to the table. Marinette rolled her eyes as she sat down and took out her food as Rose, Juleka and Ivan joined her. Max, Alix and Kim had headed to their own little table as Nino joined them.
 "How can Alya believe her?" Rose asked as they began to take out their lunches. Juleka shrugged as Nathaniel and Marc joined them.
 "You'd think that she would at least take what she said with a pinch of salt like the rest of us," Nathaniel sighed as Marc handed him a sandwich. He thanked him and kissed him on the cheek, making the writer blush a little as the others shrug. Marinette sighed as she took out her lunch as Adrien and Chloe joined them as well. She shot them a smile before turning back to the discussion.
 "She is blinded to the truth because her desire to be successful overrides her common sense," She sighed, frowning. She was still friends with Alya but the girl had been avoiding her since the visit to the museum but according to Nino, Marinette wasn't the only person on her shit list. She had been avoiding him and told him that they should take a break. Naturally, Nino had been upset at first but he regained freedom, meaning he could focus more on his friends and work but him and Marinette knew that her shit list wouldn't last long. She'd get lonely from Lila been constantly busy with her 'commitments' and would soon come back to them. Though Marinette wasn't sure if she was going to jump back with her friendship with her. However, she would deal with that when it comes. She bit into her sandwich as Marc and Nathaniel discussed the next issue of their comic in hushed voices. A few minutes later, Luka walked in with Kagami and to her surprise, Felix. Marinette wasn't sure how to react to him as they came over to their table. However, Adrien jumped up and hugged his cousin, clearly happy to see him.
"Felix, how was your classes?" He asked, dragging his cousin into the seat next to him as Kagami grabbed the other. Luka took his usual seat next to Marinette as Felix began to tell Adrien about the classes and how welcome everyone had made him feel. Luka began to talk to Marinette, who happily listened to him until Lila approached their table, causing everyone to go quiet as they glanced at her.
 "Hi, everyone," She grinned, her eyes lingering on Luka for a few minutes. He instantly teased up, feeling uncomfortable with her expression. Marinette, however, slipped her hand in his, making him relax a little as he tightened his hand around hers. Lila gave them a false smile before turning her attention to Felix. "Hi, I'm Lila. I'm a really good friend of Adrien's so let's be friends,"
 Felix didn't even speak a word but truth be told, he didn't need to. His aura instantly became colder and he shot her a glance of pure ice, sending shivers down everyone's spin. Alya frowned as she came over, seeing Lila looking shocked.
 "Wow, talk about rude," She muttered, making almost everyone roll their eyes. "Lila is just trying to make friends,"
 "Firstly, don't you dare talk to me so causally, Miss Cesaire and secondly, I have no interest in befriending someone who is so fake that she makes Kim Kardashian look real," Felix declared in an extremely harsh tone, causing Alya and Lila to look like they had been hit by a wet fish and everyone else to laugh. Nathaniel even shouted out 'burn', Adrien, however, cleared his throat, making everyone look at him, getting a nod of Kagami.
 "Since everyone is here and I consider most people here friends... not you, Lila..." Adrien stated, causing the Italian fox to gasp as he singled her out. "I have something important to say and I want to tell my friends before it goes viral tonight. Me and Kagami are officially dating,"
 Most people cheered but two people didn't. Lila and Alya. Naturally, Lila didn't as she glared small daggers at everyone but Alya looked like she had been betrayed.
 "What?!" She gasped, making everyone look at her. "You're dating the ice queen?!"
 "Alya!" Marinette gasped, causing Alya to look at her. "Kagami isn't an ice queen. She's actually really nice,"
 "Aren't you even bothered by this?!" She gasped, surprised that her best friend wasn't freaking out. The girl had a massive crush on Adrien after all and she should be hurt to find out he's dating someone else, especially someone like Kagami but Marinette apparently wasn't. Instead, she looked happy for them. It baffled Alya so much. She grabbed Marinette's arm, surprising her and pulled her aside. Luka looked like he wanted to follow her but Marinette shook her head, turning her attention to her.
 "What?" She asked, crossing her arms. Alya bit her lip.
 "Aren't you heartbroken?" She asked, making Marinette sigh and shake her head. She wasn't heartbroken because she never really loved Adrien in the first place. She understood she had liked him a lot but she also understood that she had placed him on a pedestal but since her realization and the talk she had with him, she had removed the last bits of him from her life. She had finally put sunshine yellow where it should be. With her but as her friend. "Mari, you can be honest with me,"
 "I am been honest," Marinette sighed, pinching her nose. "I am happy for Adrien and Kagami since I have moved on from him,"
 "Girl, you moved on from him?" Alya asked, confused. "Since when?"
 "It's been happening for a while, Alya," She admitted, making the other girl frown. "But I guess the final push was the other day in the museum,"
 "Girl... I'm sorry," Alya muttered, expecting Marinette to be heartbroken but Marinette really wasn't. She shrugged as if it was normal, making Alya stare at her. "You're not... heartbroken?"
 "No," Marinette replied, making her stare at her again. "Alya, Adrien is great and all but honestly, I think he's just a friend,"
 "Right..." She nodded before smiling. "Well then that solves your love dilemma. You can totally date Luka. In fact, I could set it up so you can confess-"
 "Alya, no," Marinette stated, firmly. Alya blinked and looked at her in surprise. "One, I will confess to Luka when I'm ready, which I'm not and two, I don't want to confess to him just yet anyway. I've only just removed Adrien from my heart and I'm not really to tell Luka that I like him. I like our friendship and I certainly don't want to rush this. I don't want him to think he's a rebound from Adrien,"
 "Yeah but that doesn't mean you can't tell him," Alya stated, making Marinette sigh and give her a look. "Alright, alright... I get it but I'm not sure I like Adrien dating the ice queen,"
 "Well, you don't have to," Marinette pointed out, shocking Alya. "Adrien is happy with Kagami and also can you not refer to her as ice queen? She is actually a friend of mine,"
 "What? Since when have you and Kagami been close?" Alya gasped, surprised.
 "Since Friendship day," Marinette answered, pinching her nose.
 "Girl, is that why you've been blowing me off?" Alya asked, crossing her arms and making Marinette sigh.
 "I haven't been 'blowing' you off," Marinette corrected. "I've been telling you no for babysitting because I'm not a full time babysitter and it's your chore. I don't mind doing it once in a blue moon but not every single weekend. In case, you have forgotten I have things to do,"
 "What things?" Alya asked, clearly not impressed by Marinette's answer. "Also you babysit Manon,"
 "Yes, I do because I get paid for it," She replied. "And I have commissions to make and homework to do. I also have the duties of been the class representative, which you should be helping with given that you're suppose to be my deputy and on top of that, I have to help my parents with the bakery and like I said I don't mind helping you out occasionally but I can't and shouldn't do it every week,"
 "Are you saying I shouldn't be going on dates then?" Alya asked, clearly annoyed. Marinette rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, mirroring Alya. "Well?"
 "No, I'm not saying that," She stated, making Alya smile. "But you shouldn't be putting your 'dates' above your little sisters. Also it's not healthy to be constantly around your boyfriend,"
 "What do you mean?"
 "You see Nino in school, you're constantly around his or he's around yours after school, you spend the whole weekend together. There's never time for anyone else in either of your lives. I mean you literally invited yourself along when Adrien wanted to spend time with Nino. That is not cool, Alya," Marinette explained, making Alya roll her eyes. "Alya, I'm serious. You say I've been blowing you off but whenever I ask to hang out, it's either 'I can't. I'm with Nino' or 'can Nino come along?' and when I have agreed, you just completely blank me and act like you're on a date with Nino. Basically, I end up third wheeling,"
 "Oh, it's not that bad," Alya gasped but then Marinette began to reel off all the times they had hung. All of them consisted of going to places for couples and her ignoring Marinette to pay attention to Nino. Alya bit her lip as Marinette showed her the texts of their arrangements. There were even ones where Marinette said she wanted a girl's day out and she brought Nino along or when Marinette suggested it should just be them and Alya would have a go at her, asking her if she disliked Nino. "Well... ok... maybe I have been a bit strong on the whole dating thing but I care for Nino..."
 "Which I'm not doubting," Marinette confirmed. "But this behavior is why you two are taking a break, Alya. It's ok to have a life separate from your boyfriend. You know that right?"
 "Well... I guess...." Alya frowned, rubbing the back of her neck before glancing over at the Italian, who was attempting to make small talk with everyone. She even went to sit down next to Luka but he put his legs on the seat and told her that it is taken while glaring at her. She didn't get why he didn't like her. After all, Lila was just trying to make friends. "It's just Lila mentioned that if a couple doesn't spend all their time together, they end up breaking up,"
 "And you believed her?" Marinette asked, clearly annoyed at Lila been mentioned. Alya nodded and Marinette sighed. "Right, of course you did,"
 "Marinette, what's that suppose to mean?"
 "Nothing," Marinette grumbled before sighing. "Look, just take Lila's advice with a pinch of salt. Not everything she says is law,"
 "Um... right..." Alya sighed, not wanting to get in an argument about Lila again. She shook her head before smiling. "So why don't me and you have a girly night tonight?"
 "I can't," Marinette admitted, making her frown. "I'm hanging out with Luka and the rest of Kitty Section,"
 "Oh really?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows. Marinette rolled her eyes but she was smiling a little.
 "It's nothing like that," She replied, making Alya snort. "We're just watching a movie together and it's not like we'll be along,"
 "A movie together eh?" Alya grinned as the bell rang, causing Marinette to jump and drag her off to their next lessons. The rest of school went by really quickly, which Marinette was grateful for. She collected her homework and rushed over to the lockers, ignoring Lila who send her a sneer. She grabbed her bag and books, said a quick goodbye to Alya and rushed out of the locker room. She made her way home and quickly greeted her parents before rushing upstairs and dropped off her books before getting changed. Once happy with her outfit, she ran downstairs and said goodbye to her parents before heading to the Seine where she was meeting rest of Kitty Section. She saw Luka first and waved at him, causing him to smile and wave back. Juleka was leaning on the wall next to him but Ivan, Mylene and Rose weren't there yet. Marinette ran over and greeted them.
 "Hey," Luka smiled as she pushed a bit of her hair aside. Juleka instantly smirked as she glanced at them, making Luka feel nervous before he cleared his throat. "I like your dress..."
 "Oh... thanks," Marinette smiled as she looked down at it. It was a simple pink dress with her signature flowers across the skirt area. She had paired it with her normal jacket and a pair of ballet pumps. Her hair was in her usual style and she had the purse she had made from her Nonna's gift with her, which Plagg was inside, happily sleeping. Luka had also changed his outfit. He had a different band shirt on and his usual ripped jeans but he had switched his hoodie for the jacket she had made him, making her smile when she realized he was wearing it. "You don't look too bad yourself,"
 "T-Thanks..." He flushed, looking a little nervous. Of course, that made Juleka snort and call him a nerd. In reply, he stuck his tongue out at her before facing Marinette. "Are you ok after your talk with Alya?"
 "Yeah, I am," She smiled as Rose got there. She instantly squealed over Marinette's dress, making both of the Couffaine roll their eyes before she moved over to Juleka and leaned against her, muttering about how pretty it is. "I could make you one if you want, Rose,"
 "Oh my gosh!!!" Rose gasped, practically fluttering. "Yes!! How much would it be?"
 "Um... well... I'm not sure..." Marinette admitted. The only person who had really paid for her work was Jagged. Luka frowned and looked at her.
 "You don't have a commission list?" He asked, making her blink and shake her head. "You really should, Marinette. I bet lots of people would buy from you. I know I would,"
 "Me too!!" Rose gasped as Juleka nodded. "Oooh, we could help you make a website, where we could show off your designs!!"
 "Oh... wow... I mean...." Marinette gasped, flushed at the idea of having her own website and showing off her designs. She was especially flushed at Rose's enthusiasm. Not that she didn't appreciate it but Rose was very intense. Luckily, Ivan and Mylene turned up and Rose refocused her energy on seeing the film but her little out burst had given Marinette food for thought. She could make her own website and showcase her designs.
 ~Later that Evening~
 "Thanks for walking me home, Luka," Marinette smiled, gently kissing his cheek. Juleka and Rose had gone back to the Liberty and Ivan had taken Mylene home, leaving Marinette to head home. Luka had insisted on walking her back which she happily agreed to. He went to tell her it was no problem but before he could, her parents appeared at the door and insisted he could in for a little bit. Apparently, her dad had tried out a new cake recipe and wanted an outsider's opinion on it. Marinette giggled as he practically dragged Luka into the kitchen, asking if he was allergic to anything. When Luka told him he wasn't, Tom practically squealed and gave him a slice of cake. Luka tried it as Marinette took a seat.
 "Wow," He gasped, making Tom smile. "This is really good, Mr Dupain,"
 "Oh, you can call me Tom, son," Tom grinned, making Luka nod. "You really like it?"
 "Yeah. It's just the right amount of sweetness and really fluffy too," Luka smiled, taking another bite. "Are you going to make it available for sale?"
 "We're trying it out at the premier of the Anatis and Lady Noir film," Tom explained, making Luka blink and grin. "You see it's made with coconut instead of almonds as the direction is allergic to nuts. I'm told that it's not too serious but as a baker, I have to be careful with these things. Oh, do you want to try one the macarons as well?"
 "Sure," Luka smiled, getting a giggle of Marinette as Sabine came through and greeted him. "It's really cool that you get to cater at the premier,"
 "It is," Sabine smiled as Tom gave Luka and Marinette a plate of macrons. "It's a really good opportunity for us and we're very excited to go. There's going to be loads of celebrities there including the Agrestes and of course, Jagged Stone,"
 "Yeah, he mentioned he was going," Luka nodded causally, making Tom and Sabine look at him in surprise. He forgot not everyone knew about Jagged been his dad. "Oh... um... Jagged is... a friend of my mum... Yeah..."
 Sabine giggled as Luka looked nervous before continuing the conversation as Luka and Marinette ate their macarons. Jagged had mentioned going to the premier, even inviting Luka to it but Luka wasn't sure it was a good idea so he turned it down but promised to let Jagged know if he changed his mind. He had also been invited as Anatis, along with Lady Noir but both decided to turn that down too. While they were flattered, they agreed they shouldn't go as they were superheroes, not celebrities. Luka finished his macaron and grabbed a couple of more as Tom began to go over the list of the things that had been ordered. He slipped one into his pocket for Tikki when no one was looking before munching on a few more. They were really good.
 "We need 600 maracons 800 petits fours, 1000 Pain au chocolat and that's not even mentioning the Anatis and Lady Noir three-tier cakes," He sighed before glancing at Luka. "Those maracons taste good?"
 "Yes sir," He smiled. "They're really good,"
 "Excellent," Tom smiled before turning to his wife, who was frowning.
 "That's a lot of food," She sighed before looking at him. "Maybe we should hire someone to help us serve all this food at the premier,"
 "I can help," Marinette stated, causing them to look at her. "I can totally help with that!"
 "You mean... as a server?" Tom asked, looking at her with uncertainty and surprise. It's not that he didn't believe that she wasn't capable. It just that Marinette was super clumsy and any damages or accidents would be taken off the bill. "Are you sure, sweetie? You'd walk around and serve people maracons?"
 "I can do it," She grinned, holding up a plate with fruit to prove her point. However, she ended up misplacing her footing and falling. Luckily, Luka jumped up and caught her as well as the plate, holding it perfectly. The fruit wasn't as lucky. Marinette blushed and muttered a thanks as her parents shared a look, making her frown. "You don't trust me?"
 "Of course we do, sweetie," Sabine reassured as she put down the plate and began to pick up the fruit with Luka. "It's just-"
 "I'm such a klutz," She sighed, frowning. "Yeah, I don't trust me either..."
 "Of course, you're not a klutz and we do trust you," Tom smiled, placing his hand over hers. "You're hired but there's going to be a lot to do so I hope you're prepared for a busy day,"
 "Of course, papa!" Marinette grinned as Luka bit his lip, straightening up and place an orange on a table. "And I'll be super careful!"
 "I... I could help as well?" He muttered, making the three of them look at him. "If you want..."
 "That would be great," Tom smiled, making Marinette grin. "Two helpers are even better then one but are you sure you won't be busy that day? We don't want to intrude on your life, Luka,"
 "It would be no trouble at all," He smiled, making Marinette grin. "I don't have much experience as a waiter but I know a little about it. I work as a delivery boy a couple of days a week,"
 "Well then, you're hired," Tom grinned. "With you two as our servers, this will be so much more easier,"
 "Ooh, I'll can make you a waiter's outfit!!" Marinette gasped, making Luka smile. "We'll so professional! It's going to be a blast!"
 ~Evening of the Premier~
 "So put your thumbs here and look straight ahead," Tom suggested as he got Marinette to hold an empty plate. Luka had already grabbed a plate and was walking around serving them. He was dressed in a classic waiter's outfit that she made that actually matched her. Something which was his suggestion. It had surprised her but she was more then happy to make them match. For her, she wore a black shirt with puffy, short sleeves and a baby pink skirt. The shirt's sleeves had white cuffs and a white collar with white buttons and she had added an apron and a head dress that had baby pink frills on it and her signature flower dress. She had completely the look with comfortable, black shoes and polka dot tights. She had also put her hair in a bun instead of her normal style. Luka's outfit was a lot more simple to make then hers. He wore black trousers with a matching black waistcoat and bow tie. Like her shirt, the waistcoat had white buttons and his shirt was the same shade of pink as Marinette's shirt. He had a short apron around his waist with her signature flower design was place on the edge of it. On his feet, he wore completely black converses, giving the outfit his own personal touch. He had even gelled his hair back for the occasion. She watched him, walk around with confidence before turning to her father, who looked nervous, making her sigh. He was convinced that she would trip and fall when trying to serve people. Though she didn't blame him for that, she wanted him to actually trust her. She looked at the empty plate before sighing.
 "Shouldn't there be maracons on here?" She asked, frowning. Her parents gave each other a look, making her frown before her mother cleared her throat.
 "Of course," She smiled nervously. "We'll put them on when you're ready,"
 "Dad, Mum.... I am ready," She gasped, frowning. She couldn't help but feel a little bit embarrassed by their actions. She understood why but she also believed she could do this. "I promise I'll be super duper careful,"
 "Well... ok but don't be shy to ask for help," Her mother stated, making her father nod and give her a plate of macarons. She took a deep breathe and began to walk over to some of the guests. However, she misplaced her footing and tripped, causing her to spin and move in a wild motion as she tried to regain her footing and not drop the macarons. Meanwhile, Luka was having no problems as he walked around, serving people. He gave them a charming smile and easily moved about, offering people the macarons. He moved passed Jagged Stone and some other guy to go get a second tray but Jagged called his name upon seeing him and pulled him other, introducing him to the person he was talking to.
 "Tom, this is Luka. He's a fantastic musician and can really play the guitar," Jagged grinned, holding his arm around Luka's shoulders as he went bright red as Jagged sung his praises. Luckily, most people weren't paying attention but he better stop Jagged soon before he let the cat out of the bag so to speak. They weren't ready to go public with that yet. "Luka, this is Thomas Astruc... he's the director of Miraculous: The adventures of Anatis and Lady Noir,"
 "It's nice to meet you, sir," Luka smiled, making the direction smile a little as well. "Would you excuse me though? I'm actually working here tonight,"
 "Oh, so that's why you're dressed up," Jagged grinned as Marinette tripped up. Both Jagged and Luka went to catch her but Jagged caught her first. "Whoa, Marinette,"
 "You ok?" Luka asked as Jagged helped her to her feet before pointing to her and telling Thomas Astruc who she was. He showed him the glasses she designed and explained she had designed his album cover, Rock Giant, making her blush and giggle nervous. Thomas Astruc complimented her and she offered him some macarons but a number of people grabbed them before he could. Luka and her returned to the table and grabbed fresh trays each before moving around and serving them. Luka always gave her a smile when they cross paths, making her feel more confident as she moved around. She happily talked to Adrien and Kagami when they came in and greeted Chloe when she saw her. Chloe had wore a beautiful dress that was golden in color and even had her hair down with a tiara on it. Marinette had gushed over the gown and how beautiful she looked, making the heiress blush. Luka frowned as he noticed Mr Astruc was not having a good time. A number of people were ignoring him as he tried to talk to them and everytime he tried to nab a macaron from Marinette's tray, someone else beat him to it. Seeing that he looked upset, Luka walked over and held out the tray of maracons. "Here you go, Mr Astruc,"
 "Ah thank you," He smiled, taking one and munching on it. "Hmm delicious,"
 "No problem, sir," He smiled as he took a couple more of him. "If you want anymore, just let me know,"
 "I will do," He smiled as Luka walked away. A few more people took the rest and he walked back to the main table to get a fresh tray, giving Sabine and Tom a smile. He walked off and continued his work. However, the sound of a false laugh caught his attention. He looked over and saw Lila Rossi stood talking to a number of people. She was wearing an orange and white dress. It was nice but it was clear she had themed her outfit around her akumatized self. The dress itself started orange and faded into white. It had a cut out area around the middle that allowed her ribs to show a little. The top half of the dress was connected to the lower part by white lace. The lower half of the dress was short at the front and longer at the back. She wore white lace shoes with a matching white purse. However, she had left her hair in her normal style and wore light orange lip gloss. She had even wore her fake miraculous around her neck. He walked away, heading towards Marinette to warn her as Lila happily chatted away. He walked over to her and was just about to tell her when Lila strutted over.
 "Luka! Hi!" She gasped, clinging onto him. "Oh my gosh! I had no idea you would be here. Are you watching the premier?"
 "Lila, let go of me," He declared, pulling his arm away from her as she frowned. "I'm working and I believe I had made it very clear that I am not interested in been your friend or did you forget that you declared war on me?"
 "Oh, well... I didn't mean it," She gasped, going to grab his arm again. "I was just caught of guard because how mean Marinette-"
 "Marinette wasn't mean to you," He corrected, pulling away from her again. "Now if you excuse me, I have work to do,"
 With that, he walked away, making her scowl as he moved over to Marinette. It was then she noticed the matching outfits, releasing he must be helping out her family. She turned on her heel to go spin her stories to make her feel better but then she saw Adrien with Kagami. With the ice queen there, she knew she had no chance at getting close to Adrien. It made her growl even more. Why the two boys, who would look great on her arm and help her climb the social ladder, bothering to spend time with those losers when they should be trying to get her attention? She growled to herself before taking a seat and crossing her arms. The more she watched them the angrier she got but then an idea popped into her head. This was the perfect chance to ruin Kagami and Marinette. She got up and walked over to Marinette, who glared at her but served her a macaron anyway. She took it and bit into it before making a face.
 "This macaron is awful," She gasped, making Marinette frown. "What's in this?"
 "It's made with coconut instead of almond, Lila," Marinette deadpanned. "And no one else has complained,"
 "Oh my gosh! You know I'm allergic to coconut, Marinette!" She gasped, falsely. "Are you trying to poison me?"
 However, Marinette didn't bite the bait. Instead, she just sighed in clear annoyance.
 "No, Lila, we had special orders to make them like that as Mr Astruc is allergic to almonds," She stated, making Lila frown. "If you don't like them or really are allergic then don't eat them,"
 With that, she walked away and continued to give out the macarons, making Lila annoyed. She walked over to Adrien and tried to insert herself into the conversation but both Adrien and Kagami walked away before she could even begin to talk. She growled to herself again and took out a piece of gum before chewing on it as she watched everyone. She saw Marinette brief loose her balance but she caught herself, making Lila frown. She was hoping she would have fallen over. She also noticed the director of the movie been chased by little kids while Kagami and Adrien talked with Chloe. She blew a bubble with her gum before smirking as Marinette began to walk by her. She stuck out her foot, causing Marinette to try and spin as she tried to not to spill anything. Lila then got up and walked over to the table, grabbing a slice of cake. She placed it down on a chair and put it on a chair near Adrien and Kagami, smirking to herself. She didn't care who sat on it because she would just blame it on Marinette but it would be great if it was Kagami. Speaking of the ice queen, she took out her gun and dropped it subtly as she walked past Adrien and Kagami. She smirked as she heard Kagami say something about the gum on her shoe but she had one other thing to do. She slipped out of the cinema and headed to the nearest bakery before buying a couple of passion fruit macarons. They were Adrien's favorite flavor and the perfect item to frame Marinette for. She flashed her pass and walked back inside, just as Mr Astruc sat on the chair was the cake on. Apparently, he was so worn out with the children annoying him that he didn't notice the cake. She smirked to herself and unwrapped the passion fruit macaron before walking over to him as he let out a sigh.
 "Oh my... are you ok?" She asked, making him look at her. "You look so stressed. Here, why don't you have this? I was going to have it myself but you look like you need it more then I do,"
 "Oh, thank you," He smiled, taking the macaron from her and eating it, failing to notice the smirk on her face. "Ah Passion Fruit. One of my favorite flavors but I usually can't have it because of my allergies to almonds. I'm so glad the bakery I hired made a coconut alternative,"
 However as soon as he said that, he felt his skin itch, causing him and Lila to gasp as red blotches appeared on his skin.
 "T-That was a coconut alternative right?" He asked, making her gasp.
 "I think so but I did find it in this wrapper," She gasped, making him take the wrapper off her and sniff it. He then stormed over to Mr Dupain and demanded to know why some of the macarons had almond in them. Lila then tried to dropped the hint that maybe Marinette was responsible since Passion Fruit happens to be Adrien's favorite flavor. Instantly, Luka came to her defenses and Marinette denied the accusation but the kids from earlier started to laugh at Mr Astruc as he had sat in the cake. While he told them off and got upset, Lila tried to blame Marinette, only for Kagami of all people to say how she saw Lila holding a slice of the same cake. Adrien also said he saw her leaving the venue briefly, meaning she could have brought the passion fruit macaron and if Marinette did want to give him one, she would have already done since she had talked to them a couple of times already. The final thing that made Mr Astruc storm out was when Lila used her own 'allergies', claiming she got herself some macarons so she could enjoy them too and if she did give one to Mr Astruc, she had done it to be kind but didn't realize he was the director of the show who was allergic. When Marinette tried to say she had framed her, Lila started to cry, drawing attention to her. Luka rolled her eyes and went to say something to Mr Astruc to see if he was ok but noticed the man had disappeared. He frowned and asked one of the security if he had seen him. They pointed him in the direction that the man had gone and Luka followed. He walked into the bathroom and frowned as he noticed one of the cubicles were closed. He walked over and knocked on it.
 "Mr Astruc?" He asked, frowning. "Are you ok? Do you need medical attention?"
 "No, I'm alright," He replied, clearly upset. His heart song was melancholy and a little depressing to hear. "My allergies don't require me to be hospitalized. I'll just have this nasty rash for a couple of days,"
 "Are you sure?" Luka asked. "I don't mind calling an ambulance for you,"
 "No, no... it's fine... you should go back to the party," He replied, making Luka sigh. He didn't want to leave him but he was still working. He left the bathroom and headed back to the main party. Everything had calmed down but he couldn't see Lila anywhere. He walked over to Marinette as she sighed.
 "Where did Lila go?" He asked, hoping she wasn't there anymore.
 "She left," She sighed, frowning. "She gave him a passion fruit macaron, despite knowing he was allergic and couldn't have them. I told her myself. Is he ok? Does he need medical attention?"
 "Apparently not," He replied, explaining what he had told him. Marinette nodded and listened. However, before he could continue, one of the security guards got thrown into the room as a man walked in. He was wearing an ladybug patterned mask but the rest of him looked like pen scribbles. He kind of resembled the director, causing Luka to realize he must have been akumatized. The entire party broke out in panic as everyone tried to get away from the akuma. Luka grabbed Marinette's hand and ran off with her but thanks to other people, he dropped her hand, losing her. He wanted to go and find her but he had to go and transform. He slipped into the fire escape, causing Tikki to fly out before he transformed. He jumped onto the roof and landed on it, frowning as he saw a giant 2D Godzilla, destroying stuff. Definitely one of the weirdest akumas he's come up against. A few minutes later, Lady Noir landed next to him.
 "Well, that is weird," She muttered, making him nod. "Any ideas?"
 "It's Thomas Astruc, the director of Miraculous: Tales of Anatis and Lady Noir," He replied, making her nod. "He's calling himself Animaestro,"
 "Ooh... our film!!" She gasped, grinning before making a thoughtful look. "But you're not really afraid of cats, are you?"
 "What? Of course not," He replied, making her grin happily. "You didn't think I was, did you?"
 "Hey, you could be for all I know," She grinned as they jumped and landed on the roof near the akuma. Anatis threw his yoyo and wrapped it around Animaestro, causing it to turn his attention to them.
 "Anatis! Lady Noir!!" He declared, glaring at them before glowing and changing into some sort of transformer. He fired a beam at Anatis, who jumped back and blocked it with his yoyo before firing at Lady Noir as she tried to sneak up on him. She landed next to Anatis, who was observing. Animaestro changed form again, looking like some old Disney character, declaring himself as the best hero. Lady Noir growled and charged at him but he threw a dark disc that landed on the floor and created a black hole, which she fell in. Anatis threw his yoyo and pulled her from it, landing on the roof as she huffed.
 "I hate cartoon logic!!" She gasped as they jumped away from giant boxing gloves. "How do we beat him?!"
 "The only thing that doesn't change is his mask," Anatis yelled as they ran. "I think the akuma is in it,"
 "Ok so how do we get it?!" Lady Noir replied as Animaestro jumped up and transformed into a woman she recognized as Majestia, declaring something about fearing the power of cartoons. "I like cartoons as much as anyone else but this is ridiculous!"
 "Maybe we just need a little luck to beat him," Anatis grinned before throwing up his yoyo. "Lucky charm!!!"
 A head camera appeared out of no where and he caught it, frowning.
 "Ok... but how does this help?" He muttered, glancing around but nothing lit up. "Kitten, any ideas?"
 "Maybe we need to make our own film?" She asked, making him nod. He pressed record and placed it on his head as Animaestro taunted them before firing eye-beams at them. It caused them to fall into the underground, causing them to groan. "I don't think he likes the idea of competition,"
 "Agreed," Anatis replied, getting up and helping her to her feet. "You ok?"
 "Yes," She nodded, blushing a little before he pulled away and took out his yoyo. Animaestro jumped down in the form of a cartoon ninja and threw a smoke bomb, causing Anatis and Lady Noir to cough as the smoke surrounded them. "I can't see anything,"
 "Protect your miraculous," Anatis ordered as they moved so they were back to back. "He could be anywhere,"
 "Right!" Lady Noir gasped, covering her ring with her hands. She closed her eyes as the smoke got in them before briefly opening them and quickly looked around. She saw Animaestro reaching for Anatis and pushed him out of the way before the two of them jumped back but coughed, looking away from him. They heard someone shout something and heard Animaestro grunting like he was confused, allowing them to throw the weapons at him blindly before a flash told them that he transformed again. They both opened their eyes as the smoke cleared, causing Anatis to frown when he saw Animaestro was gone. Lady Noir also frowned as she looked for him. "Where did he go?"
 "I don't know," Anatis frowned, confused. "Animaestro had the perfect chance to grab our miraculous,"
 "Yeah, we were blinded from that smoke," Lady Noir agreed before frowning. "So why didn't he?"
 "I don't know... It doesn't make any sense," He sighed before glancing up at the camera on his head and taking it off. "Something must of happened that we didn't see but hopefully the lucky charm caught it,"
 Lady Noir nodded as he re-winded and pressed play. She moved closer as the video played. It showed Anatis turning to Lady Noir, telling her to protect her miraculous before turning back. Animaestro jumped out from the smoke but suddenly stopped moving as if the video had been paused.
 "Did you pause it?" She asked, confused.
 "No," He replied, frowning. "Did you see him freeze?"
 "No," She shook her head, looking at him. "I had my eyes closed because of the smoke,"
 "Me too," He muttered, frowning before it clicked. "That's why he couldn't take our miraculous. If no one watching him then he freezes,"
 "Just like a movie," She gasped, looking at him. "If no one is watching it then it's as if it didn't exist,"
 "And now we know how to stop him," Anatis grinned, stopping the film and hooking the camera on his belt before the two of them jumped up onto the streets and onto the rooftops. Anatis blinked as he saw Animaestro had changed into a giant unicorn and was spitting rainbows that turned things into cartoon stars. "This is just weird... Lady Noir, we need to get people stop watching him,"
 "Ok!" She nodded as the two of them jumped down to the cars where people were stood. "Hey! Listen up! You need to stop watching him!"
 "Just because it's colorful and shiny doesn't mean you should watch it!" Anatis shouted, causing a number of people to look away. He spotted the TV van as Nadja exited it with her film crew, causing it to light up in his luck vision. He smirked as he got an idea. "Lady Noir, distract him! I need to go on TV!"
 "You got it, Annie," Lady Noir replied, jumping away. Anatis jumped over and landed in front of the camera, walking up to it as blue blasts came from the area where Lady Noir was.
 "You!" He gasped, knocking on the camera's glass. "Yes, you who are watching me on the other side of the screen. Wherever you are, close your eyes! Do not look at Animaestro! Turn off your screens! Animaestro gets his power from people watching him so help us take him down by taking that attention away from him. We need each and every one of you to do this. It's the only way to defeat him,"
 He frowned as he heard Animaestro laughing behind him.
 "You can tell everyone to shut their eyes and switch of their TVs but there will always be at least one person watching me!" He declared, laughing. "So try all you want, Anatis! I'll still win,"
 "He's right," Anatis muttered to himself. As long as there is one person watching then Animaestro will be able to move but what if they couldn't watch at all? "Sorry, Nadja but there will be no live streaming today,"
 He took out his yoyo and destroyed the camera, breaking it and causing Animaestro to growl before he changed form again. This time he took the form of a magic girl from an anime and fired a special attack at Anatis. He dived out of the way and blocked it with his yoyo as Lady Noir joined him. She summoned her cataclysm, making Animaestro attack them again. They blocked his attack, causing him to growl and shout something about how everyone needs to watch animation.
 "Too bad, we're the last ones!" Lady Noir grinned as they jumped out of the way of another attack.
 "And once we close our eyes, it will be time for the end credits," Anatis grinned before nodding to Lady Noir. "Ready, Kitten?"
 "You know it, Bugaboo," She grinned, holding her hand. "I trust you,"
 "Then close your eyes," He stated as Animaestro turned into his normal form and dived at them. The two heroes grinned and closed their eyes, freezing Animaestro in place. Lady Noir reach forward and placed her finger on his mask, destroying it before they opened their eyes. Anatis took out his yoyo and captured the akuma before releasing the purified version. He unhooked the camera on his belt and threw it up into the air. "Miraculous Ladybugs!"
 The cure swept through the city, fixing everything and restoring the missing buildings before spinning around Animaestro himself. He turned back into his normal self as the cure disappeared before looking around confused. To their surprise, the cure had actually fixed his allergic reaction to the macaron as well. He blinked and looked up at the heroes.
 "Anatis?! Lady Noir?!" He gasped, clearly excited. "Oh wow... wait... was I akumatized?"
 "I'm afraid so, sir," Anatis replied, making him frown as someone ran over.
 "Mr Astruc!" They called before looking over and pushing their eyes up as they slipped down their nose. "Oh, wow! Anatis and Lady Noir! Thanks for saving the boss,"
 "No problem... um?"
 "Oh, I'm Sasha Mallard. I'm the writer of Miraculous: Tales of Anatis and Lady Noir. It's so cool to get to meet you," They grinned, holding out their hand. Anatis shook it and smiled before they turned back to Mr Astruc. "Let's get back to the party, Boss. The film's gonna start soon,"
 Mr Astruc nodded and walked off with Sasha, who was happily talking about meeting the two heroes. Lady Noir moved next to Anatis as his earrings beeped.
 "Ah, I better go," He replied, turning to Lady Noir. "See ya around, Kitten,"
 "Bye, Annie," She grinned before jumping onto the roofs and running off. She returned back to the cinema and rushed over to her family as Luka came from a different direction. She rushed over to him. "Luka! Are you ok?"
 "I'm fine," He smiled as Sasha walked in with Mr Astruc. "Looks like Anatis and Lady Noir saved the day again,"
 "Of course, they did," Marinette grinned as Lila walked by, laughing in a fake manner. "But no thanks to her,"
 "I'm surprised she came back," He muttered, frowning as Mr Astruc walked over to them. "Mr Astruc, I'm glad to see you're not akumatized anymore,"
 "Luka, was it?" He asked, getting a nod of him. "I just wanted to say thank you for checking on me earlier so here. I think you should have my pass to see the film. I've seen it lots of times already,"
 "R-Really?" Luka asked, surprised as he looked at it before looking at Marinette. "No, she should have it. She's been wanting to see it more then me,"
 "Why don't both of you see it then?" Sasha suggested, holding out their pass too. "Like the boss, I've seen it lots of times too so she can have mine,"
 "A-Are you sure?" Marinette asked, getting a grin of Sasha, who nodded. "Oh! Thank you!!"
 "No worries but would you mind if I grabbed some macarons? I was kind of late to the party," Sasha smiled, rubbing the back of their neck. Marinette grinned and grabbed a tray of macarons for them. Thomas took them out of her hand and smiled at them as they dug in.
 "Go and enjoy the show," He grinned, causing Marinette to grab Luka's hand and drag him into the room. They flashed the passes and took a seat next to Adrien and Kagami, who waved at them as the film began.

The Host Club’s Busy Week: Who Let the Rich in the Bakery?!
So during the middle of the night (at least it was for me), a group of us in the Maribat Discord server came up with this AU and thus this was born. Wanna thank @ficsforthestars for instigating this AU! I had a blast writing this.
Also, some things to know before you read: Mari goes under the name Marin when she's part of the school and Mari/Marinette outside of school. Adrien and Felix are called Twins since they look identical despite their different personalities and having different surnames.
With that, I hope you enjoy this!

“A competition?” The twins asked, Adrien and Felix looking at one another and then back at Damian.
It was another day at the Host Club, the boys lazing around as Mari was crowded by the clients that were in the club at that moment.
Today’s event: Tea with Marin (with cakes made by Marin).
Damian smirked.
“Marinette’s parents own a bakery, correct?” A series of nods. “Well, it just so happens that they’re very popular despite being a small commoner’s business, which leads to my next point.”
Damian shows them a flyer, Richard and the rest of the boys wondering what it was.
“A piece of paper.” Tim says after skimming the flyer, going back to resting his head on the club’s pillow stash. “A flyer to be exact.”
“Correct.” Damian puts the flyer back into his case, Felix noticing other photos and templates in the leather file. Templates were marked in red, some notes scattered around the paper.
What was Damian up to?
“What does this have to do with Marinette and her parent’s bakery?” Richard asked, something in his gut not sitting right.
“Well, the bakery needs part-time workers or any volunteers that can help them this upcoming week.” Damian pulled out his remote to summon the club’s screen projector, showing some photos of Marinette’s parent’s bakery filled to brim with customers ordering cakes and other pastries, Sabine and Tom wearing panicked faces.
Many of the orders and pastries were pink and red themed, the boys quickly picking up on the theme: Valentine’s Day.
“But we also have our Valentine Day’s event coming up.” Jon chirped in, worried about possibly having to cancel their event to volunteer at the bakery. Not that he minded. Maybe he’d get to try some cakes there.
“Like if we would ever raise a finger to prepare for the event.” Felix reminded the group, everyone nervously chuckling except for Damian.
“Back to the matter at hands, we’ll be competing to see who can deliver the most pastries for that entire time we are there.”
Damian changes the slide, showing a map of the area around the Dupain-Cheng Bakery. There were dots scattered across the city, a lot circling around the outskirts of the city and around the bakery itself.
“Sounds fun!” Adrien squeals, Felix placing a hand on his shoulder.
“Seeing as this is a competition, I’m sure there’s a prize involved.”
“Nothing gets by you, does it, de Vanily?” Damian wipes out a tiny envelope.
“What’s it got?” Jon asked, wondering what a small envelope the size of Damian’s hand would contain.
“A one day baking class with Marinette.” The boys simply looked at each other and blinked, turning back to Damian new with confused faces.
“We can literally just ask if she-“
“-with just Marinette teaching you in the bakery.” Damian grinned as he watched everyone straighten in their seats, wanting to laugh at the serious expression that morphed onto Grayson, Agreste and de Vanily. “A one-on-on class. Usually it’s take a lot of membership points to even gain a class with her parents, but with their daughter?” Damian chuckled. “You’d have to buy a year’s worth of pastries to gather the amount of points needed to purchase the class session.”
“We’re rich.” Tim bluntly stated, gaining a few agreements. “We can literally buy three year’s worth of-“
“Drake, do they look like a factory to be able to produce that quantity of goods?” Tim mumbled a no. “There you have it.”
“So, who’s in?” All the boys raised their hands. “Let the game begin.”
Marinette felt a shiver go down her spine as she drank some tea with the ladies, turning her head to see the boys arguing with each other.
A storm was brewing.
----
“STOP GROWING MUSHROOMS BY THE OVEN SENPAI! YOU’RE GOING TO RUIN THE DOUGH!” Marinette screamed, pulling Dick away from their oven, allowing himself to get dragged out of the kitchen and into the staircase that lead to the apartment.
Adrien and Felix giggled as they watched their friend get scolded by Marinette, quickly going over to the counter to hand Damian over the money they had gotten from their recent delivery.
“Did he mess up again?” Felix asked Damian, accepting the water bottle the Wayne had offered.
“He sure did.” Tim replies, sipping on his coffee.
“And he was so sure he was going to get it right this time.” Damian grinned. “He ended up getting lost towards the end and had to get our driver to help him, only to be off by a whole number.”
“Should’ve seen how embarrassed he got when he knocked on the wrong house door and apologized for bothering them.” Tim said, smirking into his  coffee. “Wish I had known about this instant coffee sooner. Don’t have to wait for it to be grounded or anything! Just add water and it’s done!”
“Well thanks to you, we’re a bag short.” Marinette scowled, causing Tim to jump. “I swear I just saw you drink a cup a minute ago.” Mari said, rubbing her temple as she made her way back into the kitchen.
“It was actually five minutes ago.” Tim mumbled, taking another sip from the coffee before planing it down to help ring the customer at the counter.
“Wait, just how much has he been drinking?” Adrien said, turning to Damian for answers.
“For every five cups he pours, one of them ends up for him.” Damian answered, glaring at Tim as he attempted to steal another cup. “This coffee is for the elderly lady over there so you can’t have it.”
“Party pooper.” Tim muttered, watching Damian give Jon a blind eye.
Said boy was sitting with the elderly lady, chatting away as the two ate some brioche.
“I thought you guys were here to help, not to be babysitted.” Marinette growled through her teeth, making everyone go back to their respected jobs.
She knew, she just knew it.
That shiver that rippled down her back that day was this. She was being warned about this disaster.
When the Club appeared at her door that morning -at four of the morning mind you-, she knew something was up, she knew they were plotting something.
And today was not the best day to interfere with her life. Today was one of the busiest days of the year, so Mari didn’t need this ball of stress to start the day, knowing there was more stress awaiting for her further on.
But just as she had finished scolding them and demanded them to go back home, her father decided to walk by, his face brightening upon seeing them.
He started to cry and hug Marinette and thanking her for getting her classmates to help them out, thanking Marinette for always being so concerned for her parents.
As Tom welcomed them in, Mari could only watch in complete annoyance as she watched them have their way.
Oh the work that awaited them, which led to now.
Felix and Adrien had finished delivering their 49th order while Richard was still on his 23rd.
While Mari wished she could go and encourage Dick, but she couldn’t, even if she wanted to.
Her parents had their hands full and she was needed in the back, trusting Damian with the money, counter and managing his monkeys.
He wasn’t the Club’s manager for no reason after all.
With a heavy sigh and after slapping her hands on her cheeks, she headed back to the kitchen.
-----
“Thank you all for helping us today.” Sabine said with a bow, the boys also bowing, though at different times.
“Marinette’s lucky to have wonderful friends like yourselves.” Tom said, patting his daughter’s head. Marinette gave her father a smile but dropped it when she turned to see the club members, her eyes narrowed.
“If anything, we’re lucky to have Mari for a friend.” Jon said, running up to Sabine. “Now we know where she gets her kind personality from!”
Thank Jon was the only thing that rang through the member’s mind, thanking the oblivious boy and his sunshine personality.
Sabine hugged the boy. “I’m just so happy that my little girl is getting along with her classmates and making friends.” She let go of Jon, who wobbled to compose himself. “We were worried she wouldn’t make any, seeing as it’s a very prestigious school the lot of you attend.”
The twins looked at each other before grinning, Mari not liking it one bit.
“Don’t worry about a thing Mme. Cheng!” Adrien said with a chirp, Felix noticing the cue to continue.
“The three of us are in the same class and club.” Felix said, smiling at the cooing Sabine gave them. He continued. “We are very close friends, spending a lot of time together, working on club activities and schoolwork.”
“And because we spend so much time together, we’ve practically her favorite duo. We are best friends after all!” Adrien ended with a smile, shaking Felix’s hand behind his back upon noticing how Dick wilted at their right.
“Oh Mari!” Marinette was smoldered by hugs, the Club enjoying every bit of it.
-----
“So, who won?” Felix asked, sipping on some Earl Grey.
The weekend had passed, the Club spending their glorious three days there, getting fed by the Dupain-Cheng’s.
Jon -in particular- adored Sabine, one of favorite things about her was how comfortable he felt around her. Almost like having a second mother.
Tim enjoyed simply being in the bakery, to sit in the aroma of freshly made coffee was heavenly.
The rest simply liked the bakery because of Marinette and the feeling of being home despite only being there for a few days.
“Yeah! Tell us Damian!” Jon chirped, stuffing his face with some cookies the Dupain-Cheng’s had given him.
“Well,” Damian pulled out his screen projector again, taking out a pointer. “Seeing as Jon and Tim lost interest in the competition as soon as they set foot in the bakery, that leaves the rest.”
He changed to the next slide, showing four lines on the map along with dots of the same color.
“Ooo, what are those lines and dots for?” Jon inquired. On the map, there were lines of different colors along with matching dots.
“These four lines show the route each of us took when delivering the pastries. The dots show the orders that were successfully delivered.”
At the corner, there was a guide that named which color belonged to who. Damian smirked when he saw Richard cower behind Tim while the twins glanced at each other before Cheshire grins graced their faces.
Felix tried his hardest to not laugh while Adrien didn’t bother to hide it. Turning around from his place, Adrien laughed at his senpai.
“Look at yours Richard! Your blue line is all over the city! And you only got 30 dots on the map!”
Richard curled into himself, his face burning with embarrassment.
It wasn’t his fault that all the streets looked alike!
“Sad to see that you got lost while being a few meters away from the bakery.” Felix added, smiling at his amount of dots on the map: 96. Meanwhile Adrien felt cheated.
“Why does Felix get 96?! We went the same way! We should’ve gotten the same amount!”
“You only got 69 because you failed to notice Felix sneaking in other orders as he joined you.” Damian filled in, wondering why-
“Wait… how do you have over a 100 orders?” Oh. So the sleep-deprived idiot noticed. “You were inside the bakery the entire time. Did you cheat?!” Tim accused, Damian raising a brow.
“Me, cheat?” Damian put the projector away. “No my dear brother. I simply found a loophole.” He took out another remote, the boys watching in anticipation. “I simply used drones to deliver the orders, no walking necessary.”
“SO YOU DID CHEAT!” Adrien and Richard yelled, Felix simply frowning.
“And as I’m the sole winner, I’ll be using the opportunity to gather more photos for Marin’s monthly magazine.” Damian smirked. “It has become a club favorite, even gaining more demand than his Majesty himself.” Damian wanted to laugh upon seeing Richard wilt even more, dragging himself to a corner to mope.
“I should’ve known.” A voice spoke up, causing everyone to whip their heads to their eavesdropper.
“Mari.”
“You did all of that just for fun?” She growled, walking up to the boys, her arms crossed over her chest, tapping her foot. “For your entertainment?”
“A bit, yes, however-“ Damian was shortly interrupted by a fuming Marinette.
“So you did!” Marinette yelled, grabbing Richard’s attention. “I can’t believe you guys!”
“Marinette, we didn’t mean-“ Adrien started, only to see Richard walk up to Marinette and placed his hands on her shoulders.
“It started as a competition.” Richard said, dropping his hands once he had her attention. “And we shouldn’t have treated something so serious like that as a simple form of entertainment. Sorry.”
Marinette looked at Richard, averted her gaze and turned away from him.
He had that look again. Glazed baby blue eyes and a thin line for a smile… the chirp in his being gone.
Letting out a sigh, Marinette turned back to the ashamed group of boys.
“It’s fine. I’ll look over it this one time.” Marinette turned to Damian. “However, whatever prize you were thinking of giving better not be rewarded as a condition for me turning a blind eye.”
Damian nodded, ripping the envelope from the beginning in half, making the boys scrunch up their faces.
“We’re sorry Mari. We promise not to do something like this again.” Jon spoke up, making Mari feel guilty for getting angry at the group. Darn him and his baby doe eye strategy.
“Like I said, it’s alright.” Marinette restated, now wondering how she was going to tell them what she came for.
“Did something happen Mari?” Jon asked innocently, the club fully knowing she was the softest for him.
The perks of being a young, childish prodigy.
“Well, my parents wanted to thank you all for helping out at the bakery the other day, so they want you guys to come over next week.”
“Next week?” The boys sang, watching Marinette fidget under their gaze.
“You see… it’s my birthday next week.”
Everyone went haywire, Richard quickly picking up Mari and spinning her around, shouting that his little girl was growing up. Damian started to jot something down and made phone calls. Tim simply blinked before muttering something into his phone and falling asleep.
The twins managed to pull Mari away from Richard to only squish her between the two, throwing one arm each over her shoulder. They talked about how they felt betrayed that Mari kept her birthday a secret and how now they had to go shopping for her gift.
Something about a house and a new building caused her to break away from them, warning them that they better not do anything of that extreme for her. Ever.
Jon offered her to buy her his favorite cake from this world-renowned patisserie, which upon hearing their name, Mari paled.
She knew that person, her parents’ idol and there was no way in hell was she going to allow Jon to buy her something worth thousands of Euros over a simple birthday cake.
Damn rich kids.
But seeing them fawn over her like this, to argue and have fun like this… it was like a dream.
A dream that was her reality and that she was thankful for.
She was blessed to be surrounded by such loving people.
She couldn’t wait to tell her parents that they all said yes.
It’d be a nice day filled with friends at her parent’s bakery, having cake and-
The floor began to rumble, scaring the entire club members and the other people there, a few of the girls screaming for dear life.
The floor parted open, Nino standing on a rising platform, light beams beaming pastel colors and Nino bopping his head as party music blasted from his speakers. His turntables glinted and his mixer sparkled as people began to gather around the uprising studio.
“Who invited that moron of a DJ?” Damian snarled, noticing the twins tense. “It was you two, wasn’t it?”
They looked at each other and then at Damian. “What? He’s cool.”
Everyone watched as Nino lowered the music and whipped out a microphone, grinning madly.
“Hey dudettes! You’re probably wondering why I’m blasting party music, but get this!” A spotlight came out of nowhere, landing right on top of Marinette, causing her to freeze. “Starting today, we’re going to countdown to Marin’s birthday! Give it up for the soon-to-be-birthday dude!”
All the girls that were present at that moment turned their heads in unison to look at Mari, proceeding to squeal and surround her, asking her why she had hidden her birthday from them.
This was why Mari thought to herself as she was pushed and pulled on from the mob of girls she was surrounded by. She listened as some girls promised to bring her some pricey fabrics, threads, perfumes and other things from high-end brands Mari only wished to glance at and never touch.
This is why she didn’t say anything, but Nino just had to go and say something, didn’t he? Nino and his loose-lipped self.
-----
That following week, up until her birthday, Mari came home with a mountain of gifts, her parents panicking upon seeing the gifts and not knowing what to do. Meanwhile, one thing rang in her mind.
Damn these rich kids.
After settling on what to do with the gifts, Mari excused herself to her room, her eyes landing on a box on her desk upon setting a foot in her room.
She picked up the box, noticing how delicately it was wrapped, a pastel pink paper with ladybug print all over it, a single red ribbon at its side with a note underneath.
The note had her name, Marinette using this sign to open it and cry upon seeing the picture.
In a simply glass frame with a single ladybug in the corner, there was a single picture of the day the stupid idiots went to volunteer at the bakery, everyone smiling at the camera.
Marinette wiped a tear as she placed the frame on her desk, a single phrase in her mind.
Damn these rich idiots… what would I do without them?

Submitted prompt:
To all the Lady(bug)s a Chat dated.
This prompt starts with Adrien losing Plagg and his ring, whether that is via Fu or Mari or LB is up to the writer.
He clings to the hope that Alya broadcast back in Pharoh, that Ladybug is a student at his school. And so, he tries to find her by dating everyone.
He starts with his own class, randomly asking out the girls one by one without regard to their relationship status or sexuality.
And this is where it starts to get salty. He just wants to confirm his suspicions so he ask Alya and Mylene, even though they are in happy relationships. He asks both Rose and Juleka, even though they’re both lesbiens and also a couple. When he asks Alix, she either rejects him because she’s ace and/or in a Poly relationship with Max and Kim, or maybe they do go out.
Either way, every girl besides Chloe and Lila (he already knows they’re not her) gets asked out, and those who agree get a week at most.
Even Marinette herself, their relationship only lasts a week with her newly changed viewpoint of him (both with this dating craze and the reveal). He dismisses her as Ladybug possibly due to her frequent lateness and how he perceives LB to be timely, always showing up at the exact right moment.
(Sidebar maybe Chloe and Lila salt, where they try to ruin the relationship)
After exhausting every girl in glass, Adrien expands to dating within the same grade. Since the class is a bit more tight-lipped, the news that Sunshine Boy Adrien Agreste is released after the first break up outside the class.
Gabriel may either discourage or allow this as he or Nathalie overhear Adrien’s plans or musings, maybe they find a notebook where Adrien writes down everything that matches or doesn’t match Ladybug to the girls he dates.
Once Gabe gets involved, it gets bad. Each breakup or asking a girl in a relationship has the potential of causing an Akuma, either via a jealous boyfriend seeing their GF get asked out or maybe the Girlfriend considering. Either way good old Hawk Gabe finds another bonus to Adrien’s dating.
This is annoying for Lb as it interrupts her possible search for a new Cat but she probably won’t confront Adrien due to not wanting to give him false hope. Adrien also enjoys these Akumas, not the actual akumatization but getting to see LB. He may even pay special attention to where she comes from, where she goes to leave and maybe he even tries to catch her detransforming.
This continues on until Adrien finally reaches out to try and date Kagami. Kagami would definitely have heard about Adrien’s dating and may even have been somewhat insulted he didn’t ask her sooner but they date.
Everyone is surprised as it lasts longer than a week. Legitimately on the 8th day Gabe believes Adrien has given up on Ladybug and so prepares a press release promoting and building up the relationship.
Maybe a personal moment where Kagami reaches out to Marinette and shares her feelings. How Adrien seems to expect her to act a certain way and how she’s trying to fit that mold.
After a month, Adrien dumps Kagami leaving her heartbroken and perfect prey to become a POWERFUL akuma. She targets Adrien and voices her grievances while she chases him all over Paris. It doesn’t help that Ladybug has to show up and save him, even as he tries to whisper sweet nothings and flirt with her, right in front of Kagami.
Eventually Kagami is defeated with the help of multiple users (Adrien definitely wanted to stay close to LB when she tried to get the Miraculous) and Adrien is sent home where he is punished.
He is now being Homeschooled again and his writings on why each girl he tried to date could or could not be Ladybug are confiscated by Nathalie (they may be of use)
—————————
Edited a few things to keep with the rules and also because ace people aren’t all automatically aroace. Some ace people feel romantic attraction if not sexual (google the ‘split attraction model’ if you’ve never heard of it’, and desire relationships. Alix can be ace and still want and have relastionships.
Alya salt is allowed, bashing is not. The only way I can imagine her ‘sabotaging’ Marinette’s relationship with Adrien is if she knew Adrien was only dating Marinette because she was Ladybug, which would be bad enough just on its own even if Adrien were a good person (which he’s not, let’s not let anyone pretend otherwise), but gets exponentially worse if she’s seen his true colors, and ramps straight up to horrifying if she knows he’s Chat Noir.
She would warn Marinette first, and if Marientte didn’t believe her, or didn’t want to believe her, her form of sabotage would be acting as a very steely-eyed chaperone with Nino in tow to make sure Adrien doesn’t try to pull anything. Marinette would probably ask her along on the date herself if Alya’s already voiced her fears. Marinette, even if she’s hoping Adrien is a good person and it’s all just a misunderstanding, would still want to play it safe. She’s Chat Noir’s victim, after all. She’s not going to take the threat of anyone else treating her like that lightly.
And you know what? This wouldn’t even be out of character for him, because what is the difference between him not respecting Marinette’s no because she likes another boy, and him not respecting Marientte’s no because she’s already in a relationship or straight up is not attracted to men? There is no difference. The end result is the same. Adrien does not respect her no. He does not respect that she is not attracted to him and does not want to date him. Adrien has literally already demanded that she give up on whoever she’s in love with and date him instead. He’s already demanded she break up with her S/O and date him instead. None of this is out of character for him because that would require him having morals in the first place.

Not a Good Look: Chapter 2
Chapter 1 | Chapter 3 | AO3 link
@thequeenofpotatoeunicornss tagged as requested :)
Disclaimer: I don’t own ML.
Adrien’s not sure whether Marinette’s garbled confession shuts his brain down or kickstarts it into lightspeed. Marinette…loves him? One of his best friends is in love with him? How could he have never seen it before? All this time, he’s been worried that she’s secretly hated him, but it’s the opposite entirely!
“But the wax statue thing,” is the first thing his mouth blurts out, while his brain still tries to reboot. “You said you didn’t –”
“I lied!” Marinette shrieks in his face. Then she whimpers and curls away from him, just like she’d done that time. “I…you said there was this other girl that you loved, and I didn’t want to get between you and Kagami –”
“Kagami?” Oh. Dear lord. So many things are starting to fall into place. “I like her a lot, Marinette, and we kissed after we got ice cream on the Seine with our friends but, well…I felt like there was something, you know…missing. And so did she. So, we agreed to put things on hold until we figure it out, so we didn’t hurt each other by trying to force something. And, um…she wasn’t the girl I was referring to in the car. But what about you? I know you like Luka.”
“Oh. Yeah, Luka’s nice and supportive and super sweet, and I really like him as a friend, but he’s not – he’s never been…”
He’s not you. He’s never been you, rings loud and clear between them. Marinette looks away, fiddling with one of her pigtails. It breaks Adrien’s heart to see his friend like this, hurting because of him, and if Ladybug wasn’t in the picture – if only Ladybug wasn’t around – then he could fix that pain. He could take her hands and look into her bluebell eyes and let himself love her, because falling for Marinette is as easy as breathing, but Adrien can’t let himself fall for his friend and betray his lady like that. And he especially can’t betray Kagami like that, because he genuinely does love her, but could he pick between these three girls if it came down to it? His love for Ladybug has been longer, lasting through every battle they’ve fought by each other’s sides, but his love for Kagami is like a thunderstorm: wild and fierce, looming on him and then capturing him in an iron grip.
“And I also think Kagami could tell that I, um…I think I’ve always felt something more for you,” he says. Marinette’s head whips around, and her cheeks are dark pink, and her blue eyes are wide, and the sight is just so…Marinette. If someone looked up the dictionary definition of beauty, Marinette’s name would be right there next to Ladybug’s, with Kagami filling in a separate definition of her own, because the way in which she’s beautiful is as different to Marinette and Ladybug as night is to day. “I just didn’t realise it until you said…well, I always thought there was this wall between us, and knowing there isn’t – ugh, why is this so hard?”
“It’s okay,” Marinette mumbles, somehow managing to smile despite the way her heart must be breaking just as Adrien’s has done after the times Ladybug’s rejected him. “Really. You should go get that other girl. She’d be so lucky to have you, and I know Kagami would agree.”
“But she’s turned me down before,” Adrien says. “I guess I hoped if I kept trying, she’d eventually say yes. But she told me that there’s another boy, and I don’t want to let her go because I love her, but that’s why I have to let her go. And if she wasn’t around and Kagami didn’t confess first, I think I’d say yes to you. Sorry, I know that’s the last thing you want to hear –”
“No,” says Marinette with shimmering eyes and lips that twitch into a weak attempt at a smile. “Knowing that I did have a chance somehow makes it hurt less than knowing I had no chance at all. That other girl doesn’t know what she’s missing out on.” Then, before Adrien’s eyes, she schools herself back into the happy, sunshine Marinette right as they pull up to the kerb outside the bakery. How does she do it?
“I’ll see you at eight,” Adrien says to the Gorilla, who grunts in response. Then he shuts the car door after Marinette and follows her into the bakery and upstairs through the living area, all the way up to her room, where Kagami’s already waiting for them with, surprisingly, Alya and Nino.
“Um…” Marinette says, while Adrien freezes when Alya and Nino give him twin smiles. “Not that I don’t love you guys, but…what are you doing here?”
“Well, we figured we’d surprise our besties and drop in,” Alya says. “Plus, Nino wanted a croissant.”
Marinette snorts. “Of course.”
“Hey,” Nino grumbles.
“And, uh…” Alya bites her lip. “Look, we don’t know what to believe anymore. But Kagami told me and Nino about the Lila thing, and I don’t want to believe that she’s a heartless liar, but if Kagami and Adrien are taking your side and you’ve apparently got this plan going on that involves her, and you’re my best friend –”
“Alya –”
“And oh my god, if she’s lying then – then the expulsion, and all the times she’s said you were nasty to her and she didn’t know why, and I told my best friend to her face that I didn’t believe her –”
“Alya,” Marinette says with a small smile. “It’s okay. Really. I forgive you. You too, Nino.”
Nino’s shoulders slump in relief. “Thank god, dude. Nothing against you, but you have gotten pretty vicious when – ow!”
“Shut up!” Alya hisses, removing her elbow from his ribs. Marinette sighs.
“It’s okay, guys,” she says, heading to her desk chair to wheel it over, while Adrien drops to sit cross-legged at the foot of the chaise, where Alya, Nino, and Kagami are folding pieces of paper in different origami shapes. The origami ladybug at Alya’s feet nearly makes her snort. “I told Adrien in the car. He doesn’t feel the same way and I’m okay with that.”
“Oh. Oh.” Alya’s eyes crinkle. “Sorry, girl. After all the times you’ve tried…”
“How many times?” Adrien says. “Uh, if Marinette’s okay with me knowing about all this stuff?”
“Sure, knock yourself out,” Marinette mumbles.
“Oh, I have stories to tell,” Alya says. “But now’s not the time. What’s the plan?”
“Al and I are in with you guys,” Nino says when Marinette frowns at them. “Whatever you need us to do, dude.”
“If that’s okay,” Kagami says. “I’m sorry if I wasn’t supposed to tell them, but I thought that it would be okay since they’re your best friends and I know how much it was hurting you that they didn’t believe you.”
“Of course it’s okay. And thank you for trying to make things right between us,” Marinette says. Suddenly looking quite nervous, she adds, “Well, Ladybug said it’s okay to tell you guys, since I accidentally revealed my identity to Chat Noir and Ms Mendeleiev and I can’t be called on again. She entrusted me with a Miraculous a few weeks ago, back when Ms Mendeleiev was akumatised.”
The Rat! Adrien wants to exclaim, but he manages to stop himself just in time. Adrien Agreste isn’t supposed to know that Marinette was Multimouse, and he certainly doesn’t feel like explaining to his lady how he let his secret identity slip.
“The Rat.” Marinette fishes out the little necklace from underneath her shirt. Out of her purse flies a little rat – Mullo, if Adrien remembers the other kwamis’ names correctly. “I asked Ladybug if I could borrow it to pull off our plan to get evidence against Mr Agreste and Lila. I don’t think she’d have normally agreed, but she knows that Lila’s bad news since the Oni-Chan thing. Maybe she’s hoping that we can find a way to neutralise Lila before she grows too dangerous, since she can’t really get involved in this kind of teenage drama thing as a superhero?”
“Smart,” Adrien says, unable to keep the breathless marvel out of his voice. Marinette’s cheeks turn a dusty pink.
“And as she said, Ladybug and Chat Noir can’t very well be seen sneaking around in someone’s house, especially if it’s got nothing to do with Hawkmoth,” she says. “Plus, their Miraculouses aren’t the best-suited for it. But she said that if Adrien’s willing…” She fishes around in her purse and pulls out a familiar teal Ouroboros bracelet, summoning an equally familiar snake kwami in a burst of light. “He could become Aspik again and help.”
“B-But why me?” Adrien croaks, while Nino’s and Alya’s eyes bulge at the sight of Sass. “If you know I’m Aspik, you have to know how badly I messed up –”
“Well, I – she didn’t want to release more Miraculouses than necessary,” Marinette says. “And it’s your house, so you know your way around it. You have to come.”
“But I probably left a horrible impression on Sass, didn’t I?” Adrien says miserably. Sass chuckles.
“Some people are better-suited to other powers,” he says. “You could wield the Snake effectively enough if you learn not to fixate on one specific event.”
“Like trying to save Ladybug from Desperada.”
“Precisely. Rather, take in the entire situation. Look for different angles.”
“Just like you do when you’re fencing,” Kagami says, and Sass bows his head at her in agreement.
“Only if you’re willing,” Marinette says. “Otherwise, I’m happy to give you the Mouse and I can use the Snake –”
“No. No.” Adrien snatches the bracelet. He remembers vividly what it’s like to constantly go back in time, to remember all the other outcomes when everyone else around him doesn’t, and that’s not something he’s going to put on Marinette if anything goes wrong. “I can do it. I won’t let you down like I did Ladybug.”
“You didn’t let Ladybug down,” Alya says. She makes the final fold on her scarlet origami dragon and presents it to Kagami, who takes it and examines it from different angles with a small, approving smile. “Trust me, as the Ladyblogger, she’d be proud of you for stepping up and trying. Pretty sure she’d only be disappointed if you ended up working for Hawkmoth or something.”
“Alya’s right,” Marinette says softly. Then she clears her throat and pulls a familiar pair of glasses out of her purse. “And Kagami, you’re our ticket in and out. You can teleport us into Adrien’s room and if we need an escape, Ladybug wants you to use the Horse to create one for us. We can call you if we’re all transformed.”
“Of course.” Kagami immediately accepts the glasses and bows her head at Kaalki when the horse kwami materialises. “But why me? Why not Alya or Nino?”
“I don’t work with scruffy riff-raff,” Kaalki sniffs. “But you have the air of glory about you!”
“She’s not replacing Ma – Pegase,” Marinette says. Had she been about to say Max’s name? Had Ladybug told her that Max is Pegase? Just how much does Ladybug trust Marinette, anyway? Adrien hadn’t been aware that the two were particularly close, but it would explain why Marinette’s been so against Lila from the start. “But since Kagami’s already invested in the plan and I didn’t know that Alya and Nino would be here…well, Ladybug would prefer we keep it to as few people as possible.”
“She’s really putting a lot of faith in us, isn’t she?” Adrien says as Kagami slips on the glasses.
“For what it’s worth, I know you three can do it,” Alya says.
“And we’re happy to be the origami moral support, dudes,” Nino adds.
“If you make me a horse, I’ll run you through with my foil,” Kagami says dryly. “I didn’t even know you were proficient at origami, Nino.”
“Yeah, everyone’s surprised when I tell ‘em,” Nino says. “My teacher back in primaire – remember Mr Leroux, Marinette? – he told us the story about making a wish on a thousand paper cranes and I made it my mission to get that wish so our dad would come back. The wish didn’t come true but hey, I figured out that I loved origami, so it can’t be a waste, right? Maybe it was a blessing in disguise.”
The silence that falls on the room is almost awkward but not quite. What does Adrien say to that? Nino’s his best friend – one of the closest people in his life – and yet he’s never once thought that there was more to Nino than the bubbly, upbeat DJ. Adrien already knew that Nino’s father wasn’t around but…he’d never suspected anything like this.
“My father died when I was young,” Kagami finally says, breaching the stifling air with her non-hesitating manner that’s always so effective at jolting Adrien into action when he needs it. “And Adrien’s mother is gone. I think Marinette and Alya are the only ones of us with a normal family.”
“Normal is subjective,” Marinette says, while Alya snorts. “If you’d met my grandfather, you’d understand. Should we –?”
“Yes!” Adrien hastens to slide the bracelet on, while Kagami carefully slips on the dainty, almost-invisible golden frames of the disguised Horse Miraculous. “Sass, scales slither!”
“Mullo, get squeaky!”
“Kaalki, full gallop!”
Aspik’s not sure how to accurately describe the rush of emotions at seeing Multimouse again beyond some sort of baseball bat of sjdhfkljllaskdl that whacks him around the head. Ladybug had been so right to give Marinette a Miraculous! Why does she have to be such a cute hero?
“You look like a snack,” he blurts out. Although Multimouse’s cheeks pinken to the colour of her suit accents, she also snorts and raises an eyebrow at him.
“And you look like an egg,” she says. Alya lets loose with a particularly evil bout of laughter.
“Are we sure that Ladybug can’t give you the Mouse again?” Kagami says. Although Aspik can’t see her eyes behind her darkened glasses, he’s got no doubt that she’s taking in every little detail of Multimouse with her unfaltering gaze, which is one of the things about her that both thrills and intimidates him. “You really are adorable.”
“I third that sentiment,” Alya says. “Damn, I knew my bestie would be an epic superhero.”
“Agreed, babe,” Nino says. Now Multimouse’s cheeks are stained scarlet.
“S-Stop it!” she splutters. “Kagami, just – just do it already!”
“Okay, give me a moment to focus,” Kagami says, the corner of her mouth twitching. “I’ve never done this before.”
Multimouse moves to stand by Aspik’s side while Kagami frowns in concentration. Although she’s transformed, Aspik’s fairly certain that he can still catch a faint whiff of her usual scent of strawberries and vanilla, or maybe that’s just his brain deluding him, because he knows for a fact that the Miraculous magic disguises everything about someone’s identity. Then again, if he knows that Multimouse is Marinette, does that lessen the effectiveness of the magic? This is entirely new territory for him.
In more ways than one, his brain supplies, and Adrien’s too distracted by the glowing blue portal that appears before him to start poking at that thought and why it sounds suspiciously like Plagg.
“Eady, Raspik – dammit, ready, Aspik?” Multimouse shakes her head, causing her twin buns to swish from side to side. A little sixth sense tells Aspik that drawing attention to her lovestruck stammering – which is super cute, not that he’d ever voice that – is the worst thing he can do, especially before a nerve-wracking mission with someone other than Ladybug. How will Multimouse do on her second ever mission, especially with no Ladybug? If only he could tell her that he’s Chat Noir and she’s got an experienced superhero by her side.
“Aspik?” Kagami says. “I can’t keep the portal open forever.”
“Right!” Aspik blinks and shakes his head just like Multimouse had, though not as hard. Then he reaches out to take Multimouse’s hand, unable to hide his grin at the endearing blush that spreads across her cheeks at the contact, and they slip through the portal into his bedroom. Although he can understand why she’d keep her crush from him – not wanting to risk him hating her or acting awkward around her – he’s hard-pressed to find a reason as to why he’d hate her for it in the first place. He’d meant what he’d said to her earlier: she’s nothing like all the girls who cling to him and force their way into his personal space. Marinette commands attention, yes, but not through loudly demanding it. No, she draws it through her softness, her loud passion, her kindness…by being their everyday Ladybug.
“I think I’ve always felt something more for you. I just didn’t realise it until you said…well, I always thought there was this wall between us.”
No. Oh, no. Nononononono, he’s already wrestling with his feelings for Ladybug and Kagami, he cannot be having a love crisis right in the middle of a mission…but how hadn’t he realised until Marinette’s confession that he’d always loved her? Maybe he hadn’t wanted to let himself love someone who could reject him and then interact with his unmasked identity, whereas with Ladybug, he could be standing right in front of her and neither of them would have any idea. And Kagami had been the one making the moves and waiting for his response in their relationship, so he hadn’t been given the chance to hem and haw about her rejecting him.
Maybe it’s because his love for Ladybug had hit him like a sledgehammer, bashing him around the head and crushing his heart with the overwhelming strength of a gorgeous heroine in red spandex decrying a supervillain to his buggy face, and Kagami had shouldered her way into his life and carved out a comfortable little spot to share their experiences and made it impossible for him not to like her, while his feelings for Marinette have been soft, insidious, creeping up on him like the plants on Marinette’s balcony creeping up a trellis.
“Adrien?” Multimouse’s soft voice breaks through his wild thoughts. Her bright blue eyes greet Aspik when he lands back on earth, crinkled as she regards him with a tilted head. “Is everything okay? You don’t have to do this if you really don’t want to. I know it must be terrifying to be sneaking around and spying on your father like this.”
“N-No! I’m fine!” Aspik blurts out. “Just…lost in thought. About something. I’m fine. Really. We need to do this.”
Multimouse lets out a small laugh at that. “Alright. Lead the way, egghead.”
“Don’t call me egghead!”

Miraculous Ladybug Hogwarts houses
I see a lot of fan fiction about the various characters of Miraculous Ladybug in their respective Hogwarts houses, particularly the main four teens, but often I’m disappointed at the houses that are chosen. So here’s my take - and keep in mind, these are just my opinions:
You have four main characters, and four Hogwarts houses. Let’s see where we end up.
RAVENCLAW
Most people generally agree that Alya would be in Ravenclaw. As a Ravenclaw myself, I agree with this wholeheartedly. I see the argument for her being in Gryffindor, especially since she’s always jumping into dangerous situations with akumas, but there’s a difference in how she approaches it. A Gryffindor would run into danger for the thrill of it - because they like the adrenaline charge it gives them, because they enjoy it for its own sake. Alya runs into danger, sure, but she does it strictly for Research Purposes. She does it all for the sake of the Ladyblog, which she in turn only does to better understand and further educate the public on the superheroes.
Not only that, but she’s also quite logical in her approaches to issues, such as in the “Ladybug” episode when she goes looking for clues to clear Marinette’s name at school, and in the “Pharaoh” episode when she finds Ladybug’s history textbook and uses it as a way to deduce her identity. As a Ravenclaw, I completely understand her method and her logical way of thinking about things.
HUFFLEPUFF.
A lot of people peg Adrien in this house, and I totally see why. He’s a sweet cinnamon roll who just wants to love and to be loved. However, Hufflepuffs are more than just the sweet and feelings-y people. Puffs work hard and never give up, because they believe a job worth doing is worth doing well. They are friendly and loyal to a fault sometimes, but ultimately are the ones who would adopt anyone who came their way and do everything necessary to take care of them.
Now who do we know who would do that? Our main DJ, Nino. In the very first episode, “The Bubbler”, he is akumatized because he’s angry not for himself, but for his friend. Most Akumas are very focused on their own lives and what they want to achieve for themselves, but Nino’s is entirely for his friend. As soon as Adrien walks into class in “Stoneheart”, he immediately befriends him. Not only that, but in “Anansi”, he keeps going to Alya’s rescue - without superpowers - even when he knows he can’t win, because that’s his girlfriend and he promised to protect her no matter what. He’s a true Hufflepuff in my eyes, and a perfect example of what a true Puff can be.
Gryffindor:
Now, I know what you’re going to say. Marinette, Ladybug, with the red color scheme and the overbearing loyalty to anyone and everyone. But I’ll do you one better.
Gryffindors are impulsive, they’re loyal to a fault, they’re slightly disregarding of the rules, and they’re stubborn. VERY stubborn. So while I do see the argument for Marinette being the Gryffindor of the group, I would raise you Adrien. Adrien who ran away to get to school in “Stoneheart”, and almost didn’t leave with Nathalie when she insisted. Adrien, who was so impatient to become a superhero that he didn’t let Plagg explain the rules before transforming. Who over and over again has sacrificed himself for his Lady, and who in “Chat Blanc” is so torn in his loyalties that he literally destroys the world out of sheer panic because he doesn’t know whose side to choose.
There are so many moments where our seemingly innocent sunshine child is remarkably devious and rebels against his rules. Yes, he does come across as submissive to his father, but that’s because abuse and neglect is a clear pattern in his life. In most other situations, he’s more than happy to bend the rules to do what’s right. He will rush into situations without looking and get captured or brainwashed, he’ll decide to sneak out without thinking about what his father would say if he finds out, and he’ll rush to defend any and all of his friends from any injustice.
And finally, we have Slytherin
Ah, Slytherin. The snake house. The sneaky-sneak edgelords. The house of evil and darkness. Or maybe just of people with ambition and big dreams, who, similarly to Gryffindors will bend the rules to do what’s necessary. Marinette fits all of that description and more!
I like to say that I’m a Ravenclaw most of the time, but my Slytherin comes out when I’m angry or determined. The same is true of Marinette - she doesn’t seem like a likely candidate for the “scary” side of Slytherin, but get her angry or determined and nothing can stand in her way. This is seen in her time and time again as Ladybug as well as Marinette. For example, in “Robostus”, she deliberately picks an argument with the teacher to get sent out of class in order to get Markov back to Max. When she’s confronting Lila, she’s quite scary and looks like she truly wouldn’t let anything hold her back from proving the truth - and you could even see her doing something slightly evil to do it.
And yes, she does sometimes do things that didn’t necessarily warrant quite as drastic a reaction. For example, in “Chat Blanc”, she can’t get into Adrien’s house to give him his present, so she transforms and goes in through a window. Yes, this was stupid. But keep in mind: This Girl Is Only Fourteen.
We see these characters and wish they had the emotional stability of twenty-five year olds with steady jobs and no debt, but that’s not where they are. These are Children. Literal minors who have the fate of a city on their shoulders. So yes, they’re going to make bad decisions. Alya is going to run into danger to get that video, Adrien is going to choose not to take responsibility for his actions, Marinette is going to use her powers in a slightly less necessary situation, and Nino-- Well, Nino doesn’t really have any flaws in the same way, but Nino is going to blindly trust Lie-la’s words without checking it because he doesn’t have any reason to mistrust her.
TL, DR: The common conceptions of the Hogwarts houses aren’t entirely all encompassing of the characters, but these are just my opinions.

Can I Steal You For A Second? Chapter 29
Summary: Adrien is forced to participate in a new dating show, but becomes more excited when Ladybug says she’ll participate as her civilian self.
AKA: AU where Adrien doesn’t know Marinette, the superheroes are 22 and Gabriel is mean and ruthless but not Hawkmoth.
Read on AO3
Start from the beginning Chp 1 on AO3
The next morning, everyone left. They were going to spend the week in their hometowns, or a town close to Italy in Lila’s case, in a hotel and not talking to anyone they knew, until the rose ceremony at the end of the week. It sounded dreadful, but it was essentially what Marinette had been doing since filming started. Marinette missed the other girls a lot. The mansion was a lot creepier when she was in it by herself.
Thankfully she was only there for a couple of hours Monday morning. As soon as she was awake, a producer found her and informed her of everything that would happen on the date. Marinette had to be ready to leave by mid-morning and she had a couple of lines that were scripted for her to say to explain what would be happening, but otherwise the flow of the date and how everything went today depended on her parents.
Once she was ready, she was quickly rushed out of the mansion and driven to the park right next to her parent’s house. There was a little picnic spot set up for the two of them, with only drinks available, and Marinette was instructed to stand by a specific entrance and wait for Adrien to arrive. She imagined that this is how Adrien felt when he showed up to his dates with the girls, everything set-up and anxiously awaiting the arrival of them.
After a couple of minutes, a black SUV pulled up and out walked Adrien. He was wearing jeans and dark grey polo shirt, which made Marinette drool a little spying those arm muscles.
She got so excited to see him, that even before he had reached the grass of the park, Marinette ran towards him, a huge smile on her face. He grabbed her mid-run and swung her around. She instinctively put her arms around his neck and let out a giggle. When they stopped spinning, Adrien’s lips found Marinette’s and she sighed, remembering how wonderful it was to have Adrien all to herself for the day.
“Hey, Beautiful,” Adrien said once they broke apart.
“Hey.” Marinette breathed back. She would have been content to stand there and stare, but she knew that she had a script to follow. She intertwined their fingers and started pulling him across the park towards the set-up in the grass. “So, welcome to my city,” she joked, nudging Adrien’s shoulder as they walked.
He let out a laugh that was brighter than sunshine, “Yes, well I have to say it’s truly beautiful.”
They sat and picked out drinks from the basket, taking instructions from the producers on where to sit, which way to face and whatnot for the cameras. When they were settled, someone yelled “Action!” and Marinette continued with her more scripted lines.
She pointed out some various things that the producers considered very Paris as they sat and sipped their drinks, making small talk, which was very easy for the two of them, enough for the producers to be happy.
“Now I know you’ve never been to Paris before,” Marinette started, after getting the cue from a producer with a mischievous smile, to which Adrien rolled his eyes. “But for some reason, I don’t feel that a tour around Paris would be beneficial to you.”
“I don’t know,” Adrien said with a soft smile. “It would be fun to see where your favorite spots in the city are and compare notes.”
Marinette’s heart leaped at the idea, even though she already knew where all of his favorite spots were, at least as Chat. Sadly, that wasn’t in the script so she just gave him a smile and moved on.
“As much fun as that would be, I have something even better planned.” Adrien perked up at that, and if he had his Chat ears they would have stood straight up. “Now, I don’t know if you knew this or not, but this park is actually right across the street from the best bakery in Paris.”
Adrien’s smile grew, clearly guessing where she was going with this. “Oh, is it now?”
“Yes,” Marinette said, not letting go of the charade. She stood and offered her hand to him to join her. He took it, and didn’t let go. Instead, he let her lead him out of the park towards her parent’s bakery. “It’s called the Dupain-Cheng bakery, and I’ve scheduled a time with the owners for a private baking lesson.”
Adrien gave her hand a squeeze before responding, “That sounds wonderful Marinette.” He paused, and Marinette wondered how much he was playing towards the cameras right now. “But wait, why does the name Dupain-Cheng ring a bell?”
Marinette smiled as they reached the door. The producers had asked her parents to close down for the day, which was stressful for them she knew, but she also knew that they would do anything for her, no matter the cost.
“Why Adrien, that’s my last name, silly.” Marinette’s voice almost sounded fake even to herself, but she knew the audience would love this conversation, so she continued to play. Plus, her mind was completely distracted thinking about the fact that she was about to see her parents again, for the first time in too long.
As they reached the door, Adrien turned towards her and said, with a slightly panicked look on his face that must have been for the cameras, “Wait, are you telling me I’m about to meet your parents?”
“Surprise!” Was all Marinette said as she opened the door to the bakery. She could barely contain a squeal as she saw her Maman and Papa standing behind the counter waiting for the two of them to enter.
She collided with them in the middle of the store. Sabine overtook Marinette in a hug that Tom shortly joined in on. After a little bit, they broke apart and Marinette had the opportunity to introduce Adrien.
“Maman, Papa, this is Adrien Agreste.” Tom shook Adrien’s hand, but Sabine gave him a quick hug, and when she pulled away, Marinette noticed a slight blush on Adrien’s cheeks. “So, I heard you have a wonderful baking lesson prepared for us.” Marinette said once everyone had settled.
Sabine stepped forward and grabbed Adrien’s hand. “We do. Adrien, have you ever baked bread before?”
                    ----------------------------------------------------
As the morning went on, Marinette learned that Adrien was not good at baking. She honestly didn’t think that she had ever laughed so hard in her life. Adrien made a mess out of the flour, and while he was kneading the bread dough, it attacked him and somehow the two of them ended up on the floor. Adrien surfaced unscathed, but he did have flour streaked across his face and a clump of dough in his hair. While what remained of Adrien’s bread loaf was baking, Marinette and her parents took turns telling Adrien funny baking stories that had happened to them throughout their years of owning the bakery and everyone was in good spirits by the time the bread came out of the oven. Adrien’s bread loaf was lumpy and sad looking, but still tasted delicious and Adrien seemed very proud of himself.
Too soon, Marinette and Adrien were being whisked away to give everyone time to set-up for the evening portion of the night in the apartment upstairs. Marinette and Adrien made their way back to their picnic spot in the park and sat to chat.
“That was incredibly fun.” Marinette announced as they sat down.
Adrien let out a laugh, “If you call utterly failing to bake some bread ‘fun,’ then sure.”
“Oh, don’t beat yourself up too badly. When I first started baking I was terrible at it too. I always made a mess and ruined my parent’s creations, and even I had lost a few battles to some bread dough before.” Marinette said, reaching over to brush some flour off of Adrien’s shirt. The producers had cleaned him up as soon as the bread was in the oven, but flour in the bakery is like glitter in the craft world, it just never seems to fully go away.
“How did you get better at all of it?” Adrien asked, and Marinette had a feeling that he was genuinely curious.
“Practice. Lots of practice. I started baking around three years old, and by middle school I was an expert.”
“Are you saying that your bread would taste better than mine?” Adrien asked, trying and failing to look appalled, which caused Marinette to laugh.
“Well...” She started, which made Adrien laugh in return.
“Hey now! My bread was good!” Adrien said in his defense, which brought the two of them to laughing once more. It was just so easy to be around him. Everything was fun and relaxed and it made her wonder how the time he spent with the other girls went. If he was this comfortable around them, then did it mean that she was any different than them? She shook that thought from her head though as the sun started to sink lower in the sky.
“Anyway,” Marinette started, leaning into Adrien’s shoulder. “Are you ready to go meet my parents again?”
Adrien grabbed her hand and smiled, “With you by my side, always.”
Hand in hand they walked back to the bakery, this time entering through the side door that led to the stairs that would lead to the apartment. Marinette couldn’t tell if Adrien was nervous or not, but he gave Marinette a confident smile as they walked through the front door. Her parents were waiting in the living room with a little surprise for her.
“Alya?!” Marinette screamed as her best friend jumped off of the couch.
“Marinette!” The two girls stood screaming in the living room and Marinette was vaguely aware of Adrien giving Sabine the flowers the producers had given him and a bottle of wine to Tom. As Marinette squeezed the ever-loving daylights out of Alya, she gave her a quick whispered summary of everything that had happened since her last letter, and reminded her not to mention the letters at all.
“Don’t worry, girl, I’m a professional,” Alya said with a wink.
“Yeah a professional journalist,” Marinette mumbled as they all went to sit down on the couches. “Adrien, you already know my parents, Tom and Sabine. But this crazy lady is my best friend Alya.”
Alya gave Adrien a once over, and Marinette could see all of the gears turning in her head. “Okay,” was all she said before sitting back down next to Sabine.
Marinette tried not to blanche at the lack of sarcastic remarks from her friend, but took it as a good sign and sat down to join the group.
“So, Adrien,” Sabine started, excitedly grinning at the new addition to their group. “Tell us more about yourself. We try not to believe everything that’s written in the magazines, and we’d much rather hear it all from you.
Adrien was naturally charismatic. If he hadn’t already won over her parents during their baking lesson that morning, he had slid into their good graces through both his manners and his friendliness. His hand was comfortably resting on Marinette’s knee, which she only noticed because Alya was staring at it like it was a homing beacon for her attention. All five of them were engaged in a conversation about what it was like being on the Bachelor, when the oven went off.
“Dinner is ready!” Tom announced as he clapped Adrien on the back good-naturedly. Marinette was having a hard time processing how well her Papa seemed to be taking Adrien and she was dying to ask him all of her questions.
They ate dinner in an easy silence, the producers not wanting any conversations to be had while they were eating, as that was bad for filming. After they finished with dinner and all the plates were cleared away, they all sat back down at the table, and Tom started off asking questions.
“So, Adrien, what do you plan to do with your future? You know after the Bachelor is done and everything.”
Adrien gave him a smile, that only Marinette could tell was slightly forced, “Well, sir, my current track is to take over the business side of my Father’s company and continue modeling until I age out of it. Then, once my Father retires, I will take over the whole of the company and keep the brand of Gabriel thriving.” Marinette kept up her façade, but she knew that wasn’t what Adrien wanted to do, but rather what his Father had planned for him.
“Does the idea of that make you happy, dear?” Sabine asked innocently. Marinette whipped her head towards her Maman, forgetting how in-tuned to people she always seemed to be.
Adrien didn’t answer for a moment; clearly taken aback by a question he’s probably never been asked before. “Well, if I were to do it all by myself it would be a little overwhelming and boring. But, if I had the right partner, I could see myself being happy with that line of work.” Marinette had to compliment Adrien, as that was a very diplomatic response that even Gabriel couldn’t be upset about.
“Right partner, huh?” Alya leaned forward, shooting a knowing smirk at Marinette.
“You do know that Marinette designs, don’t you Adrien?” Tom spoke up, clearly understanding the underlying statement to Alya’s comment.
Adrien peeked over at Marinette, who could feel a blush forming on her cheeks. “Yeah, I did actually. From what I’ve seen she’s very talented.”
At that both her parents and Alya gaped. “You’ve seen her sketchbook?” Alya asked, her voice filled with shock. “Not even I’m allowed to see her sketchbook!”
For the first time that night, Adrien looked uncomfortable. “Um, no. I’ve just seen a shirt she had designed. It was really well designed and made. I actually thought it was a Gabriel original.”
Everyone around the table relaxed, but there was still an uneasy air around the table. Marinette was baffled and didn’t know what to say, when Sabine cleared her throat and addressed Adrien once more. “With that, Adrien, how about you and I go off for a little chat.” Adrien squeezed Marinette’s hand (which he had held throughout the entire chat under the table) before responding with an “Of course,” and following Sabine out of the dining room.
Tom then awkwardly looked around before jumping up and looking at Marinette, “Hey, why don’t we go chat too?” Marinette glanced at Alya, who gave her the shooing motion before following her Papa up the stairs into her bedroom.
“What was all that about?” Marinette asked once the door was closed and they were alone. The camera crew would be on their way up, but they were allowed a few private moments before they began filming.
Tom’s cheeks reddened. “Oh, I forgot my cue. Once your mom took Adrien, I was supposed to take you, but I forgot.”
Marinette couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh Papa, I’ve missed you so much.”
They shared a small hug before a banging was heard on the trapdoor. Once the camera crew was up the stairs and set up, Marinette and Tom sat around the chaise and she was finally able to ask the questions she had been dying to ask.
“What do you think of him, Papa?” Marinette asked nervously.
Tom didn’t answer immediately, which made Marinette even more anxious. Finally, he let out a sigh, “He’s wonderful, cupcake. He’s everything I could have ever hoped in a boyfriend for you, and you are clearly crazy about him.”
“So, do you approve?”
“Yes, my little bon bon, if you decide that this is the boy you want to marry, then I support you wholeheartedly.”
Marinette let out a sigh of relief that she didn’t know she was holding. She knew that she wasn’t out of the woods yet, as her mother was a harder critic of boys than her father was, but having half of them on board with Adrien so early in the night was a relief.
The conversation flowed and Marinette was able to answer all of his questions, mostly about the kind of dates that she had been on and whether the food was any good. Marinette gushed about Alice’s cooking and even told him about their failed baking attempt to make macaroons that ended with all of the girls eating the store-bought ones because they didn’t want to wait for their homemade ones to be finished.
Too soon, the producers were telling Marinette that it was time to switch and that Sabine would be coming up here, and Tom would go talk with Adrien. She gave her Papa one last hug before sending him off to interrogate her future husband.
Once Sabine was in the room, and they were able to have a moment “alone” without the cameras filming, they both sat down on the chaise and Sabine dove right in.
“He’s a wonderful young man,” she started without any prompting from Marinette. “He has a good head on his shoulders and seems very interested in finding true love through this show.”
Sabine paused, and Marinette could sense that there was a “but” coming. “What’s bothering you, Maman?”
She let out a small sigh and gently reached over to cup Marinette’s cheek. “There are still three girls in this competition. What if he doesn’t pick you?”
Marinette paused, trying not to let those little doubts that had been pestering her recently flood through her mind. She knew she was Adrien’s end-game. She knew that he loved her more than he could ever pretend to love the others. They were two halves of a whole, they complimented each other in every way they could. They were Ladybug and Chat Noir for goodness sakes. But, how could she begin to explain that to her parents without giving away their identities.
“If he doesn’t pick me at the end of all of this, I’ll be upset, sure, but I’ll get over it. I love the girls in this with me almost as much as I love Adrien. If he decides I’m not the one, it would hurt at first, but I’d find a way to be happy for the girl he does pick, as I would hope they would do for me.”
Sabine stared at Marinette, and she felt as though her Maman was trying to read her mind through her eyes. “You really truly love this boy?” She asked, no trace of a smile to be seen.
“Yes, Maman, I really truly do.”
“Then I approve.” She said with a curt nod. “But if he breaks your heart, I don’t know if I’ll be able to stop your father from going all Were-Dad on him.”
Marinette involuntarily laughed, and knew she would have to explain that comment to the producers later. “If he does, at least Chat Noir will actually be able to help Ladybug in the fight.” Sabine joined in laughing and gave Marinette a tight hug.
“I trust you, sweetie. Follow your heart, and we’ll support you no matter what happens.”
Marinette could feel tears welling up in her eyes as she pulled away, but right at that moment, something loud crashed through the trapdoor.
Everyone, including the crew people jumped as Alya strutted her way over to the chaise, “All right, girl, it’s my turn.” Sabine let out another laugh, and stood up to allow Alya her spot on the chaise, but Alya shook her head. “I’ve got a better spot.”
Before Marinette could realize what was happening, she was being dragged away from the cameras and through another trapdoor, this one leading to her balcony. She purposefully didn’t mention it to the producers, just because she knew that it would be a hassle to get even one cameraman up here, much less a whole crew.
“Quick, before they follow us with a camera, you’ve got to spill.”
“Spill what?” Marinette asked, completely confused.
“Girl, don’t play dumb with me. It didn’t set in until it was mentioned that you had possibly shown your sketchbook to Adrien. You really are head over heels for this guy, aren’t you?”
Marinette was still in shock but managed to give a nod.
“Good God girl, did I not tell you the most important part of the Bachelor? The girls who fall in love first are the ones who get kicked off first. You’re going to scare the poor boy when he’s not at that level with you, it’s going to freak him out and then you’ll be sitting here on your chaise crying your eyes out over a mediocre Disney movie and a tub of ice cream.”
“Woah, Alya, slow down.” Marinette grabbed her friend’s hands to stop her from continuing. “Look, I know you’re worried about me, but I promise that it’s all going to be okay. Even if he doesn’t pick me, I trust Adrien to make the right choice.” Marinette glanced around, even peering through the trapdoor to make sure no cameras were listening in. Just in case, she lowered her voice to a whisper. “Listen, no one can know this but Adrien and I are pretty much on the same page. I really think he’s going to choose me at the end of this.”
Alya, far from being shocked and excited, as Marinette had expected, instead gave a loud snort. “Oh please, girl, that’s obvious just watching the two of you interact. He cares for you, a lot, but of course he would be stupid not to.” Alya took a deep breath before continuing. “Just promise me that you won’t get your hopes up, and that if he does break your heart I can beat him up first?”
Marinette scanned Alya’s eyes for any sign that she was joking. For once her friend’s hazel eyes were clear and sharp as diamonds. “Will saying yes get you to be nice to him during your talk?”
Alya’s face split with a smile that was borderline evil. “Not a chance.”
Marinette sighed, “What am I going to do with you?”
“Love me, as always,” Alya replied with a flip of her hair before she disappeared off of the balcony, leaving Marinette alone.
                    ----------------------------------------------------
Marinette wasn’t ready to say goodbye. But, the producers had a schedule to keep to and Adrien would be flying out to another city to meet another family (leaving Ladybug in charge of watching Paris) later that night. They had gathered in the living room, none of them really wanting to start the goodbye. Finally, Alya stood up and walked over to Adrien and Marinette, her hands resting comfortably on her hips in a menacing way.
“It was very nice to meet you Adrien, but if you break my girl I’m going to break your pretty model face.”
Tom and Sabine let out a laugh, and Adrien joined in, though his was a little forced. Her parents stood up and joined in on saying their formal goodbyes, giving everyone hugs and wishing Adrien a safe week of traveling.
“It was been wonderful to meet you, son.” Tom said after giving Adrien a bone-crushing hug.
“Hopefully we’ll get to see you again,” Sabine said, giving Adrien a gentle kiss on the cheek.
By the time to two of them walked out to chat in the park next door, Adrien’s blush had faded, but he still seemed slightly dazed from the whole encounter.
“Well that was fun,” Marinette said once they were seated, the film crew and their bright lights listening intently.
“Marinette, they were wonderful.” Adrien said, turning to face Marinette fully. “Thank you so much for welcoming me into your home. Your parents were a blessing. It’s been so long since I’ve had a mom kiss me, I... I forgot what it felt like.” Marinette was so stunned she forgot to speak. Thankfully, Adrien continued, “I can see where you get your level-headedness from, and that your adorable awkwardness comes from your dad. They were fun, friendly people, and considering Alya was the only one who truly gave me a hard time, I’d say it was a successful evening.”
Marinette sighed and leaned her forehead onto his. “Adrien, I’m really glad you had a wonderful night and that my parents didn’t embarrass me too much.”
Adrien’s hand moved to cup her cheek, “Marinette, even if they did embarrass you, there’s not much in this world that could change my opinion of you.” He closed the distance between them and their lips met, but only for a moment.
He pulled away just enough that they weren’t touching, but Marinette could still feel his breath on her lips. “This is going to be the longest week.” Adrien whispered, and Marinette was sure that the cameras wouldn’t be hearing this conversation.
“I’ll be here when it’s all said and done,” Marinette whispered back.
“I know, and I’m forever grateful for that,” Adrien leaned in once more, this time the kiss stretched a little longer, but they parted eventually, as they always do.
“Thanks for a wonderful evening, Miss Dupain-Cheng.” Adrien said as he stood, offering Marinette his hand to stand with him.
“Always a pleasure, Mr. Agreste.”
She gave him one more hug goodbye, before he turned and walked towards his designated black SUV that would take him away to the arms of another girl. Marinette tried not to let that bother her too much, as she walked to her SUV and prepared herself for a lonely week at the mansion.
                    ----------------------------------------------------
Adrien was so ready for this week to be over. After his amazing first hometown with Marinette, he felt let-down by the other two he had completed. Juliette’s family was nice enough, but it was clear that they were trying to show off how much money they had and it was also clear that Juliette was uncomfortable about the whole thing. Lucie’s family was great. They were sweet and well-mannered, but it almost felt like a job interview rather than a casual, meeting the future-husband, which put Adrien off a little. Adrien felt like they were deciding if he, and by extension his Father, were good enough for their two fashion companies to be merged. It didn’t help that Lucie’s American Aunt, the creator of said large fashion company, was there to look at Adrien through a microscope as well.
Thankfully, only Lila’s hometown stood in the way of him and freedom from overbearing parents. These parents all seemed to ask the same questions, and Adrien went through very similar questions with each, including asking the dad for permission to marry his daughter, which was a little old school, but something very important to him. He truthfully only cared about one specific dad’s opinion, but if he had asked Tom and no other dad’s he would have gotten chewed out by both the producers and his father, which is something he wanted to avoid.
That being said, Juliette’s hometown was still the worst so far, especially knowing that he was going to have to send her home this week. He tried to be vague when answering questions from her family, especially about his feelings, and he made sure he only kissed her on the cheek as he was leaving, so he wouldn’t be leading her on more than he had to.
Overall, he was ready for this week to be over.
Lila’s afternoon portion was boring and cringe-worthy. She was too stiff and didn’t seem interested in the street fair they were supposed to be enjoying. He knew they weren’t actually in her hometown, which was totally his fault (he had told the producers he wouldn’t leave France, which to them meant he would travel to the closest city to Italy they could find, aka Monaco, and he wouldn’t be allowed to complain), but she still could have pretended to be interested.
Now, as he was walking up the front steps towards the house where he would finally be meeting Lila’s parents, he was just ready for the whole evening to be over and he could stop pretending that he like Lila in any sort of way. Thank goodness she was going home next week.
Lila opened the door ahead of him and they made their way to the living room. There he could see two people who had to be Lila’s parents and another, younger looking girl waiting for them.
“Daddy! Mom!” Lila announced, and they both rose to greet her. They each gave her a quick hug and she turned and hugged the other girl as well before turning towards Adrien. “Mom, Daddy, this is Adrien Agreste.” The way she said his name, like she was emphasizing every syllable, made his skin crawl.
He shook hands with her dad, who was middle-aged and was dressed as though he grew up wealthy, as he said, “It’s nice to finally meet you, son, you can call me Mr. Rossi.” Adrien forced himself to smile.
“And you can call me Mrs. Rossi,” the woman next to him announced.
Adrien moved on to Lila’s mom, who looked like a slightly older version of the girl herself. He handed her the flowers, and she leaned in and gave him the standard French cheek kisses as a welcome.
Lila grabbed Adrien by the elbow and dragged him to the last person in the room, “And Adrien, this is my friend, Adriana.” The girl, who was of medium height with long dark brown hair and a pretty face waved.
They awkwardly sat down in the sitting area, Lila seated with her mom on one side and Adrien on the other, and Adrien waited for the standard questioning to start. Everyone, however, seemed content to sitting in silence, so Adrien cleared his throat and asked the first question. “So, Mr. and Mrs. Rossi, I just wanted to say that you have a lovely daughter here. What exactly is it that you two do for a living?”
Mr. Rossi broke out into a long conversation about what he did for Italy and all these things he had accomplished, but Adrien had a hard time listening. Lila and her mother were whispering about something, and for once, Lila was actually keeping her voice down so Adrien couldn’t tell what they were talking about. Thankfully, soon after Mr. Rossi had finished describing his occupation in detail, a maid came out and called them to dinner.
That’s another he really liked about Marinette’s house. Tom had made dinner for the five of them, not some wait staff, like it was at every other hometown he had gone to.
As they were walking to the table, Lila’s mother had Lila’s arm in a vice grip and walked over towards where all of the cameramen and producers were. Lila was pointing something out to her mom, where another hushed conversation happened before they joined the rest of their group at the table.
“What was all that about?” Adrien asked, curiosity getting the better of him.
Lila almost looked taken aback by the question, but quickly recovered by rolling her eyes and whispering, “My mother wanted to make sure she looked young and pretty enough on the cameras before we moved to a new setting with new lighting.” Adrien didn’t believe her, but shrugged it off anyway.
Dinner was bland and boring, and considering they weren’t allowed to talk about anything interesting thanks to the producers, it was awkward.
When their plates had been cleared and they were allowed to have conversation again, Lila’s parents asked the typical questions, about him being the Bachelor, his future plans, how absolutely lovely their daughter was, etc. Adrien was just praying that they were about to move on to the individual conversations when something unexpected happened.
“So, Lila has told us that you are absolutely amazing in bed.” Mrs. Rossi said as almost an off-hand comment. Adrien almost spit out his wine.
“I’m sorry, what?” Adrien looked to Lila for an answer, but her face was beet red and she wasn’t meeting Adrien’s eyes.
“Oh, are we not supposed to talk about that on camera? From what I’ve heard you’re giving her some good exercise every other night.”
Adrien felt his cheeks get red, but he couldn’t stop staring at Lila. She was now glaring daggers at her mother, which could only mean that there was something Adrien was missing.
“Lila, what is she talking about?”
It was like Lila hadn’t even heard him, she just continued to stare aggressively at her mother.
Finally, something seemed to click and Mrs. Rossi’s cheeks turned pink. “Oh no. That was with the other boy, wasn’t it?”
Lila stood up and left the room.
Adrien just stared at the place where she had been sitting, at a complete loss for words.
“What other boy, dear?” Mr. Rossi asked, which was the first helpful thing he had done all night.
“Oh, Lila had been telling me about this boy, Mark, that she had been seeing while at the mansion. She said it was pretty serious, I just couldn’t remember if it was Adrien or Mark who was really good in bed.”
Slowly, the pieces clicked together.
“You mean, Mark the producer?” Adrien asked, finally finding his voice.
Mrs. Rossi absently turned towards him and waved away his question, “Yes, that one.”
Adrien slowly turned towards the group of producers that was gathered in the dining room and quickly found Mark in the crowd. His face was also beet red and his fellow producers were staring at him appalled. Clearly, they didn’t know anything about this either.
Adrien stood from his chair, and asked louder than he had planned to, “Which way did she go?”
One of the female producers waved for him to follow her and together they raced down the side hallway, a camera crew on their heels.
Their group found her sitting on the back deck, a new glass of red wine in her hand, staring out at the view. Adrien approached her slowly, not knowing what kind of mood she would be in.
“How long?” He asked once he was close enough to see her face. She hadn’t been crying, she just looked slightly annoyed.
“Adrien—”
“No. No more bullshit. Give me a straight answer. How long?” Adrien allowed some of his anger to show through, and Lila stepped back away from him at his aggressive tone.
“Since the second week.” Lila almost sounded bored, which only infuriated Adrien more.
He quickly did the math in his head. “Six weeks? You’ve been sleeping with a man while dating me for six weeks?!”
Lila at least had the decency to look ashamed now.
“All those times the girls mentioned seeing you out and about late at night, and how you were always really tired in the mornings, that was all because of Mark?”
Lila just nodded.
“Wait, that night you were crying during the cocktail party after the voice recording analysis came through, the first time that I truly saw the real you, why were you actually crying?”
There was a small pause before Lila said, this time her voice slightly cracking, “Mark was there when you and Marinette confronted me and heard me beg you to keep me. He broke up with me that night because he thought that you were starting to mean more to me than he was.”
“But that didn’t last, did it?” Adrien asked, crossing his arms over his chest to stop them from shaking. It was taking everything inside of him to not transform into Chat Noir and beat the shit out of this girl.
“No,” Lila said, standing up a little straighter. “I love him and he loves me. You could never measure up to him and you never even deserved someone like me!” She made to storm off, but Adrien caught her wrist and turned him back towards him.
“You do not get to go around making my life difficult and torturing the other girls, who are actually kind and decent human beings I might add, and then get to walk away from me. I’ve kept you here solely because I held out hope that deep inside you might be a good person, especially after seeing the real Lila that night. Instead, this entire time you’ve been actively cheating on me and lying to my face about your feelings for me!” Adrien let go of Lila’s hand before he accidentally hurt her.
He let her walk away, and just kind of turned towards the camera crew and whispered, his anger slowly deflating, “What do I do now?”
Adrien was given a bottle of water and guided to a chair. The female producer who led him to Lila told him that Chris would be arriving shortly and he would explain everything. It gave Adrien enough time to process through his feelings.
He wasn’t specifically mad at Lila, he hated her and this gave him a very good reason to send her home, one his Father couldn’t argue with. He wasn’t even mad at Mark, because if the poor man decided he wants to put up with Lila, then he can have her. No, his anger was coming from the fact that he had to act upset and heartbroken about this. He couldn’t rejoice or even celebrate that Lila was finally going home, because then he would have to explain that his Father had a hand in picking who wins this competition.
Plus, despite all of the chances he had given Lila, all of the hope he had held out for her, she had turned out to just be a horrible person. It frustrated him that he had even tried to defend Lila to Marinette. Beautiful, wonderful Marinette who had tried telling Adrien that he was wrong about Lila since the beginning.
This only solidified his certainty that Marinette really was his better half. She saw Lila as the snake she was, and if he would have gotten rid of her sooner, none of this would have happened. At least Adrien knew this would make good television, even if it humiliated him because he didn’t notice that something like this was happening.
Not too long after, Chris Harrison walked through the door. Adrien stood and shook hands with him, and gave him a grim smile.
“Hey Adrien, I came as soon as I heard,” Chris said, grabbing Adrien fatherly by the shoulder. “Are you all right?”
Adrien let out a dry chuckle, “I’m not going to lie to you Chris, I’ve been better.”
“That’s understandable. Listen, I’m going to go take care of Lila, all you have to do is leave okay? You don’t have to stay and watch this. You won’t even have to explain it to the other girls if you don’t think you can, we can have it all arranged for you.”
Adrien considered that for a moment. If he walked away now, Lila would win. No, he wanted to see her realize that she had dug her own grave and that there was no way out now. “Can I do it?” Chris looked a little surprised, so Adrien added, “I want to be the one to send her home.” Chris nodded and turned back towards the house. Adrien followed.
They found Lila hiding this time in a spare bedroom. Adrien took a deep breath, squared his shoulders, and tried not to look too excited about doing this.
“Lila. I just wanted to let you know that I am completely appalled by what you have done to me and how you have treated our relationship. You have manipulated me and lied straight to my face for weeks now, and I cannot have a relationship like that with my future wife.” He took another deep breath before continuing. “I’m going to ask you to leave the house and the show now.”
Lila gave an annoyed nod like she knew this was going to happen before turning to Chris. “What happens to Mark? What about my stuff?”
Chris stepped into the light, “Your stuff will be shipped to your house in Italy. As for the staff member that was involved in your affair, he has been let go to find employment elsewhere.” There was a moment where Adrien thought Lila was going to fight for Mark’s job, but Chris gently took her arm before she could say anything, “Lila, let me walk you out.”
And with that, Lila Rossi finally walked out of Adrien’s life.

~~~~~~~~
Dupois road was known for its multitude of shops and variety of small cafes that adorned the streets; but what it wasn’t known for was its little flower shop that stood at the end of the road. It was small and not all that well known, but those who went there always left a good review and frequently returned as regular customers.
Though Marinette Dupain Cheng was not one of those customers, she did find herself drawn to the quaint little shop and quite fond of its owner, Adrien Agreste.
No matter the day, she always seemed to find time to stop by the small shop. The large windows allowed for a bountiful stream of light to illuminate the store and the sun seemed to only rival the warmth of the smile that Adrien would give her as she walked in.
“Back again already?” Adrien’s voice was obviously teasing but inviting, nonetheless.
“It’s my lunch break and I’d much rather spend it here than stuck third wheeling Alya and Nino.” She took her usual seat across from him near the end of the counter. “Besides, it’s not as if I’m harassing your customers. If I vividly recall, plenty of your costumers find me absolutely charming.”
Marinette smiled goofily in attempt to poke fun at the blonde. It had been merely a week ago that a customer had walked in when Adrien was feeling slightly agitated and reacted more abrasively than usual. So, Marinette tried to assuage the situation by being her cheerful self and was thereafter deemed “absolutely charming”.
Marinette giggled, taking out her sketchbook as Adrien rolled his eyes at the girl before joining her, resting his elbows on the counter-top. “Remind me why you keep coming in here?”
“I’m offended, Sunshine, I always thought you enjoyed my company.” The two shared a laugh before she went back to her doodling and responded properly. “I suppose flowers are a common request, so practice is always helpful.”
Marinette worked at the tattoo parlor just a couple stores down from the flower shop and was one of their most popular artists. Though she herself wasn’t adorned in tattoos like some of her coworkers were, she did have a couple scattered across her body. There was one of a ladybug on the inside of her ankle done by her best friend Alya and another of a cluster of macrons on the side of her rib-cage in honor of her parents’ bakery opening up its second store in London. There were various other little ones that she might’ve given herself with a stick and poke on late nights where there was nothing else to do, though those held less of a significance.
Moving away from the counter and into the back-storage, Adrien’s voice rang with a question. “Well then, what flower do you need for today’s practice?”
Marinette thought for a moment, eyes trailing around the shop, looking at the various arrays of plants that adorned the walls and clusters of flowers placed in vases. The store smelt fresh and the floral perfumes eased her nose after being cooped up in a room with somebody for at least an hour. “You choose for me this time,” she finally responded, eager to see what he would pick out for her.
“Are you sure?” she heard him ask. She hummed a yes in response and flipped to a new page in her drawing book. “Alright, then. A white gardenia for you, Ms. Marinette.” He walked back in holding a white flower in his hand. “White gardenias symbolize purity and trust and are given to convey the message that the recipient of these flowers is lovely.”
“Is this your way of telling me that you find me lovely, Agreste?
“Quite the flirt, aren’t you?” he rolled his eyes as she smirked taking the flower from his hand and examining it. It was a beautiful flower and Marinette was delighted to understand what it had meant. This was something that she looked forward to every time she entered the shop. Learning what each flower meant was a joy because it meant that she could give her friends and family flowers not only for the beauty of them, but with a secret message.
Placing the flower down in front of her, she sketched out the basic shape of the flower in pencil, later adding the petals and smaller details. Once she felt confident enough in her design, she changed to her pen and drew a replica. Adrien watched her draw, fascinated by her precision and focus. His eyes were glued to her paper and were only interrupted by the sudden ringing of the chimes above the entrance door.
The sound alerted Adrien as he stepped away from Marinette and smiled at the customer. “Welcome! Can I help you with a flower arrangement or are you just browsing?” It was his usual greeting that Marinette had grown accustomed to hearing after popping into the store every so often. The lady that had walked in smiled at him before speaking.
“Hi! I’m looking to buy some flowers for my girlfriend. She’s coming home after being gone for a year working abroad so I’m picking her up from the airport.” She looked excited; her eyes filled with a sense of joy that caused Adrien to smile.
He nodded and thought for a moment before quickly dashing to the storage room once again. He came out with a pair of flowers: a pink lily and a white orchid. “Here, star gazer lilies and white orchards are both ways of conveying ‘I miss you’ but I think that considering she is your girlfriend, the lilies would be better suited. They symbolize admiration and missing another, so I think they’ll work out well.” He handed her the flowers and she inhaled its scent before smiling brightly.
“They’re perfect. I’ll take a bouquet please?” Adrien nodded before starting to build the arrangement. Marinette watched him carefully take the flowers and wrap them up in cellophane, his fingers folding the plastic gently and taping the ends with a sticker. As he handed her the flowers, she thanked him, paying for them before heading off with a smile evident on her face.
He waved goodbye before returning to Marinette who was still drawing and tapping her on the shoulder. “Coffee?” The smile on her face was enough of a response for her to slam her sketchbook shut and stand up.
“Sounds perfect.”
-----
Adrien was growing accustomed to hearing the tinkling of chimes at noon signaling Marinette’s lunch break. So, when he noticed it was already 1:31 and Marinette had yet to make an appearance, it was safe to say that he was slightly alarmed.
The bells suddenly chimed, and Adrien would be lying if he were to say he wasn’t the tiniest bit disappointed when his best friend Nino appeared through the doorway instead of the bluenette. “Nino! Surprised to see you here.” An automatic smile made its way to Adrien’s face as he and the bespectacled boy exchanged a hug. “I assume you’re here for some flowers?”
“Yeah, I need to pick up some flowers for Alya actually.” He scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment. “It’s our six-month anniversary today and I forgot to buy some so here I am. At the best flower shop in all of Paris.”
Adrien chuckled at his forgetful friend before picking up a couple of roses in the back and creating a bouquet. “If it makes you feel any better, Alya came in this morning before her shift.” Nino’s eyes widened in surprise before laughing and taking the roses from the blonde. “You two really are perfect for each other,” he teased as Nino paid for the flowers.
“I suppose we are.” A heartfelt smile rested on the boy as he grinned at Adrien. “I noticed you looked disappointed when I walked in. You weren’t expecting a certain tattoo artist, now were you?”
Though he refused to admit it, his felt his cheeks tinge pink as the words left his best friend’s lips. “I – she usually comes in much earlier, so I was concerned alright. It’s nothing like that.” He was reassuring Nino but at the same time if felt as though he were trying to reassure himself. He didn’t like Marinette, did he?
“I didn’t mention any names.” Adrien’s cheeks turned a more violent shade of red as his friend laughed. Nino made no further mention of the girl but something about the smug smile that tugged on his lips made Adrien think otherwise.
After his friend left, Adrien went back to work, rearranging the bouquets or sweeping any loose petals that were scattered across the wooden floor. Ten minutes, maybe fifteen had passed before the doors to his store opened again. His back was still turned away as he tried to reshelf some flowers, so he responded with his typical greeting, “Welcome! If you need any help with an arrangement, I’ll be with in a just a second and but if you’re just browsing go right –”
“Didn’t you just switch up those flowers yesterday Sunshine?” a knowing voice teased him, causing him to turn around.
“I reckoned you were finally going to show up. I suppose the shop was getting a bit too quiet for my taste,” he joked as the girl made her way to the counter. “Don’t you have a shift right now?”
Marinette clucked her tongue before dropping off her things on the counter top. “Alya’s watching for me. She owes me a shift anyways considering how many times I’ve taken hers because of an impromptu date with her boyfriend,” she walked over to where Adrien was, holding up a couple of the flowers that he was moving. “Need any help?”
“What? No practice today?” Adrien took the flowers from her hand and placed them into a vase, moving the flowers around for the prettiest arrangement. “Could you pass me those roses? The red ones,” Marinette nodded, reaching over to grab the flowers but as she was trying to pass them to him, her foot tripped over the broom that Adrien had left leaning against the wall. Before she could face-splat against the floor, Adrien quickly discarded his flowers and caught her, arm slipping around her waist.
“Agh!” Marinette squealed as he held her upright. His arm was snaked around her waist, supporting her balance and their faces were close to the other. The room was quiet and all that could be heard were the sounds of their hearts beating rapidly. A blush tinged both of their cheeks as they stared into the other’s eyes.
Adrien was quicker to react, apologizing profusely; “are you alright? Sorry I really should have put that broom away earlier I just wasn’t expecting –” before another word could be spoken Marinette stopped him with her own apologizing.
“You’re sorry? I should be sorry! I was being careless and clumsy, and I should’ve watched where I was going before –” Marinette rambled, only to be cut off by somebody clearing their throat. The two looked behind them to see a man who couldn’t have been all that much older than them with a grin.
“Though I apologize for interrupting the two of you I was wondering if I could get some help with a bouquet?” the two young adults both blushed at the reminder and immediately separated. Adrien was quick to clean up before aiding the man in his needs.
Marinette went back to her spot at the counter and tied her hair up in a bun, trying to avoid contact with either males in the room, doodling in her sketchbook. From what she had gathered this was the man’s first date and he wanted it to be perfect. She smiled at the thought of being gifted flowers, her pen quickly sketching the scene in front of her.
From her spot at the end of the counter she watched as he wrapped the peonies he had selected into a bouquet and handed them the man at the other side of the register. Her lips tugged into a smile as she watched him graciously converse about the man’s upcoming date and how excited he was. Something about watching Adrien easily talk to all his clients always made Marinette filled to the brim with happiness. Looking down at the drawing in front of her, she traced over the lines on his arms of the still image of him handing the flowers to the man.
“What’cha drawing now?” his voice had suddenly rung as Marinette jumped in surprise.
“Adrien! I didn’t see you there,” she quickly squealed, slamming her sketchbook shut as he leaned over her shoulder. She turned around, eyes meeting the blonde. She was startled by how close he was to her yet again. Her eyes seemed to travel down his face, admiring his features as the sunlight hit them. In attempts to diverge the conversation and hide her now rosy cheeks, Marinette motioned towards the shelf; “do you need any more help with cleaning up? I’m here for the rest of the hour.”
Adrien looked over at the small mess that they had made before nodding.
“That would be perfect.”
-----
The tattoo parlor that Marinette worked at had a drastically different aesthetic than the little flower shop Adrien was used to. The walls were a dark grey colour that contrasted with the white designs that decorated the walls. There were shelves placed around the parlor that were filled with knick knacks and various other decorations. On the walls were also different framed artworks and photographs of tattoos or drawings and most of the light came from the pot lights that were sporadically placed above him.
He made note of how the shop was always playing music as he walked in, waving hello to Alya who was leaning against the table that stood in the front of the parlor.
Her eyebrows raised upon seeing the ex-model as she faked surprise. “Agreste? What are you doing here? Ooh lemme guess, here to pick up Marinette for your first date?” the auburn-haired girl teased.
“Haha, very funny Alya,” Marinette walked in, a smile appearing on her face when she saw Adrien. “You ready for your first tattoo?” How Marinette had convinced Adrien to get his first tattoo he knew not. But he was still eager and excited for the experience and it didn’t hurt the he would get to be around Marinette some more.
Alya’s face contorted to one of shock. “A tattoo? If somewhere to tell me that the Adrien Agreste were getting a tattoo, I would’ve never believed it.”
“Well a lot of people didn’t believe I quit my father’s modeling agency and opened up a store but here we are,” the three laughed at his response before Marinette made signal for him to follow her into the area in the back of the parlor.
She motioned for him to take a seat on the large longue chair in front of him and disappeared for moment, returning with a booklet. She handed it to him and opened the book. “You can look through here if you want any ideas but considering this is your first tattoo, I would recommend going for something simpler than the designs that are in the back of the book.” Adrien thought for a moment flipping through the contents of the book, stopping at certain designs, contemplating them before continuing to look through the rest of them. “Nothing catching your eye?” she asked.
“Actually, I was thinking of doing a flower, but I still don’t know which one,” Marinette smiled. Of course, he would want a flower, he does work in a flower shop after all. “I thought it would be only fitting since you practice drawing flowers in my shop all the time.”
“A flower by yours truly? I suppose it is rather fitting,” she smiled and thought of the varieties of flowers that he could choose from. “What flower are you thinking of? A rose? That one’s popular. Perhaps a lily? You always liked those. Maybe a –”
“You pick for me,” the confidence in his voice took Marinette by surprise. Though she was touched by the trust that he had in her for choosing a reasonable tattoo, she was still taken a back that he wanted her to choose his first tattoo.
“Are you sure? But this – I mean, this is your first tattoo you know?”
“I know.”
“Then why would you want me to –”
“Because I want the tattoo to mean something to me.”
“You work in a flower shop and yet none of those flowers mean anything to you?” Marinette deadpanned, ignoring the cheeky grin that appeared on the blonde’s face.
“The one you choose will,” he said it with pure confidence as he smiled. It would be a blatant lie to say that Marinette’s face had not turned bright red at his remark.
Curse how smooth he was.
She tried to smother her blush as she pondered. What would be the best choice for Sunshine boy himself? An idea clicked through her mind as she smiled excitedly. “How about a sunflower? The only flower that could rival with you, sunshine boy.”
The smile on Adrien’s face was more than enough to know that Marinette’s choice was a perfect one.
After ten minutes of coming up with initial design and chatting with Adrien, Marinette settled on a smaller, simple design, very minimalistic and Adrien decided on placing it on his left upper arm, near the shoulder. After prepping the design and cleaning the area where the tattoo was going to go, Marinette was ready to get started.
Adrien was surprisingly good with the pain and remained still throughout the process. The two talked for nearly the entirety of the time, catching up about life and just gossiping about their friends.
“What’s your favourite flower Marinette?” he winced slightly, due to the pain. Though she was used to him pestering her with questions, she still wondered how many questions the green-eyed boy had in him.
Marinette thought for a moment, eyes trailing over his exposed arm before settling on an answer. “I suppose it’s always been a cherry blossom. Call me corny but they remind me of spring and it’s just always so beautiful to see them,” she paused from her work and pulled down slightly on her t-shirt, showcasing her collarbone. “I got it done when I had just turned twenty. Probably my most painful one but I love it nonetheless,” on the skin underneath her collarbone was a cherry blossom branch that reached out to her shoulder. It was pink and delicate looking and somehow Adrien found himself staring at its beauty for much longer than he’d anticipated.
“You say it as if you haven’t been twenty in ages. You’re only twenty-one Marinette,” he mentioned with a provoking smile.
“And you’re only twenty-two. So, don’t try and act like you’re so much wiser than me Sunshine,” she teased him before going back to her work.
Adrien leaned back into the chair and thought of his life a couple years ago before he had decided to open his shop, how his father would react to such ludicrous idea. Not only is he “tarnishing” his skin but the idea that his first tattoo would be of a sunflower? He would have been thrown out of the house if he were still living there.
They continued to talk, somehow stumbling across the topic of dating. “How did it go with that one guy you went out with?” though he didn’t show it, Adrien was tinged with jealousy. He wasn’t quite sure why though, just the feeling, perhaps the idea of Marinette being close with somebody else made him upset. It was probably just that he was afraid she wouldn’t pop into the store as often. Yeah, that seemed like a suitable response.
“Kim? We didn’t go out. We’re just friends, have been since we were in middle school,” the idea of dating her swimmer friend was one that Marinette refused to think of. Though she was confused as to why Adrien thought it was a date. “Though he did say that he had a friend who was potentially interested. I think his name was Luka, I’m going to be meeting with him in a couple days.”
An exasperated sigh slipped out of his mouth. Though he didn’t wish to intrude on her love life, he still felt compelled to tell her that going on date might’ve been a bad idea. Why? He had yet to find an excuse suitable enough to tell her because based on what he had read in books and in movies, “I don’t know”, was a bullshit answer. “Oh?” he managed to respond.
“You holding up alright?” she asked him sincerely. Her words seemed to be laced in concerned after seeing the blonde close his eyes in pain. He nodded his head and before she went back to work. There wasn’t much more left to do, just a couple touch ups and details and before they knew it, Marinette was done.
Standing up she handed him a mirror to look at the final product. “And we’re done! Wasn’t so bad now was it,” she gave herself a little pat on the back for her work. Adrien examined the tattoo and smiled upon seeing it.
“It looks perfect! What do you think?” the flower was beautiful, and Adrien couldn’t have been more ecstatic about the results. His eyes looked up to meet Marinette’s and she flashed him a grin.
“Almost as bright as you, Sunshine boy.”
-----
Call it fate, call it not wanting to spend an hour stuck in the tattoo parlor where her coworkers were complaining about how their boss wasn’t letting them break for the weekend, whatever it was, it caused Marinette to spend another one of her lunch breaks at Adrien’s flower shop.
“I’ve got a pot of pansies for you to practice drawing, their sitting in your usual spot,” Adrien responded, currently on the phone. Marinette looked over to see a fresh pot of purple pansies and smiled. She took a seat and started to draw, waiting for Adrien to get off the phone.
Her eyes were focused on the drawing in front of her. The ink of her pen slowly running out especially considering how long she’d had it for. She included a beautiful intricate design engraved into the pansies and went over the lines in ink, shading where she felt like made sense.
She felt his figure watching her process from behind the counter and met his eyes. “Thoughts?” she asked him, curious to know what he thought of the drawing. She turned her sketchbook so that it would face him, and he looked at it eagerly.
“It’s gorgeous as always,” he grinned at her, lightly tracing over the drawing with his finger. “You know, pansies were actually used in the Victorian Era for secret courting. They mean loving thoughts or that you are thinking of the other,” he continued to ramble on about the flower and Marinette watched him, finding it adorable how nerdy he would get about flowers and what they meant.
Not that she would admit that to anyone.
Marinette inhaled the sweet scent of the pansies and played with its petals. “I had no idea that these were such romantic flowers,” she had to admit that hanging around Adrien had opened her eyes to how many other flowers there were. Before their encounter she could probably name only a couple flowers but now her floral vocabulary consisted of at least twenty. “You know I had a client ask me for a tattoo of a gardenia and they looked so excited when I knew what they were. What would I do if you didn’t have your little flower shop?”
“I’m sure you could find another flower shop to practice at,” Adrien chuckled, heading to the back to start on another arrangement order.
But none of those flower shops would have an owner as charming as you. Marinette thought watching him come up with a cluster of pink and red roses. The two sat in a comfortable silence, Adrien messing around with an array of flowers at the counter as Marinette sat on the opposite side, now practicing drawing the bouquet of hyacinths that Adrien had given her after the pansies were done. Her pen moved along the paper, eyes shifting from up to look at the flowers to back down.
Fiddling with the rose in his hand he asked her a question. “How did your date with the Luka boy go?” His voice seemed quieter than usual, as though he had been nervous to ask. Shrugging her shoulders, she kept her eyes on the piece in front of her.
“It was alright,” she hummed, fingers outlining the corners of the paper. “But we both agreed that we would be better off as friends.”
Letting out a sigh of relief, Adrien set down the roses. “Well if you’re any interested, my friend thinks you’re cute,”
Marinette didn’t look up from her drawing but snorted in response, “What friend?”
“Me,” swallowing whatever pride he might’ve had left, he confessed. “I’m the friend.”
His voice seemed nonchalant and a smug smile rested on his lips as the words escaped his mouth but the rapid beating of his heart in his chest was a dead giveaway that the boy was nervous. The pen in Marinette’s hand nearly dropped in surprise. “Oh? You should’ve told me earlier. I think your friend is quite adorable himself,” she let out a laugh as her eyes finally met his.
“Really?”
“I mean, it’s hard to resist a ball of sunshine,” Adrien snorted at her comment as he leaned closer to her from across the counter. His face was much closer to hers than it had ever been, his green eyes more vibrant than usual. Marinette smiled, moving closer as well, leaving a smaller space between the two, a heavy blush marking her cheeks.
“Is it now?”
Adrien sealed the space between their lips, a smile forming as they kissed. It was soft and delicate, the smells of the roses he had left on the table filling the air. After they parted, a pair of lovesick smiles were prominently displayed on their faces.
“And it’s even harder to resist when that ball of sunshine is as good of a kisser as you are,” she teased once more, causing him to roll his eyes before locking their lips once again.
I’m Sorry, Princess.
(ML Lovesquare Fluff Week 2k19 - Day 4: Watching Sunrise/Sunset )
Hello, lovely readers!
HAPPY DAY 4 OF LOVESQUARE FLUFF WEEK 2019!!!
The Day 4 prompt is “ Watching Sunrise/Sunset”.
Thank you @lovesquarefluffweek for organizing this week of fluff!
Day 4: Watching Sunrise/Sunset
Adrien leaned over and kissed his girlfriend on the cheek before saying goodbye. “I’ll see you later, Princess.”
“Mmmhmm, yeah okay,” Marinette mumbled underneath her breath.
He leaned over and looked her in the eyes. “I love you.”
She averted her gaze and lowered her head. “Yup...I love you, too. I have to go. I’ll see you later.”
His heart sank as he watched Marinette turn on her heel, walk across the courtyard, and disappear down the stairs.
“Dude.” Nino put his hand on Adrien’s shoulder and shook his head. “What did you do?”
He sighed. “I don’t know. Usually, she’s pretty vocal about what’s wrong, but this time she just got quiet.”
“That’s even worse, bro. That means she’s really mad.”
“I’m going to go after her. Maybe she’ll tell me what I did wrong so I can apologize.”
“No, dude. Trust me. When Alya gets mad like that, it’s better to give her space. Let Marinette cool down for a bit, and then you can go talk to her.”
“I guess you’re right...but I feel like I should do something for her. What should I do?”
“Beats me, bro. Out of the two of us, you’re the hopeless romantic. You’ll figure something out.”
Alya ran into the courtyard and slung her arm around Nino’s shoulders. “Good afternoon, boys! Where’s Marinette?”
Adrien sighed. “I think she’s super mad at me, but I don’t know what I did. Say...you wouldn’t happen to know why she’s upset, do you?”
“I am privy to that information, yes.”
“Okay...so will you tell me what I did?”
“Nope!” Alya shook her head. “It’s something that the two of you will have to sort out on your own. She’ll tell you when she’s ready. HOWEVER, as her best friend, I will tell you that if you don’t fix it, I will have to take matters into my own hands.”
He felt his eyes grow wide as images of an angry Alya coming to his house flashed through his mind. “Uhhhh…”
She laughed. “I’m kidding, Sunshine! Don’t worry...you and Marinette are the most sickeningly adorable couple in the school. You two are practically made for each other. Just give her some time to calm down, and then bring her chocolate or something.”
“That’s what I told him,” Nino said, resting his cheek on Alya’s head.
She rolled her eyes. “That’s because you’ve learned from your mistakes.”
“Well, after the first time you got mad and I tried to talk to you right away...uhh...let’s just say that I learned that it’s ‘space first’ and ‘talk later’.”
“Got it,” Adrien noted sadly.
“Cheer up, Buttercup!” Alya said with a smile, “You’ll be okay.”
Before Adrien could answer, his phone went off in his hand. He swiped up and saw a message from his bodyguard.
“Ugh,” he groaned, “I have to go to my Chinese lesson right now. Let’s just hope that I can focus. Thanks. I’ll see the two of you tomorrow.”
“Good luck, bro.” Nino gave him a thumbs up.
“Thanks...I’m definitely going to need it.”
***
Marinette curled up in her bed and sniffled. Earlier that day, her anger had been directed towards her boyfriend, but now she was frustrated with herself. She didn’t want to be angry anymore, and couldn’t entirely blame Adrien for what had happened. She knew that he probably didn’t know why she was upset and that he most likely didn’t even realize that what he did was not okay.
She reached across her bed, grabbed her Chat Noir plush, and squeezed it against her chest. “Silly kitty...I wish you were here. I think it’s time for us to talk.”
A knock at her trap door below prompted her to sit up quickly. The sudden movement made her lightheaded, and she flopped back onto her pillow with a groan.
“Yes?” she called, hoping the person on the other side wouldn’t make her get up.
The hatch creaked open.
“Princess?” asked a familiar voice, “May I come in?”
“Adrien.” His name echoed like a song inside of her mind. “It’s like he knew what I needed.”
“Marinette?” he called again, “Please...I-I just want to talk.”
She carefully sat up and clutched the Chat doll closer to her body. “Come in.”
Adrien walked into the room and took in his surroundings. “Where are you?”
“I’m right here.” Her voice was barely above a whisper.
“Marinette, I’m so sorry. I don’t know what I did, but the thought of you being this angry with me just...I...I can’t handle it. Please tell me what I did wrong. Please.” His voice began to break. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
“Then why are you angry? I won’t do it again.”
“I’m not angry at you anymore. I was, but now I’m not.”
“What can I do to make sure this doesn’t happen again? I can’t lose you, too.”
Hearing the desperation in his voice broke her heart. “Oh, kitty...you’ll never lose me.”
He choked back a sob. “Please, Marinette...I…”
She peered over the side of her lofted bed and saw Adrien standing in the middle of her room with his palms pressed against his eyes. He looked small and alone...like a child who had gotten separated from his parents in a store.
“Adrien.” His head snapped up at the sound of her voice. “Come up here.”
He hastily wiped his face with the back of his hand and scrambled up the ladder. “I’m sorry, Princess. Please talk to me.”
She sighed. “Earlier today when Chloe was saying all those mean things at the end of class, I got mad. Then, you put your hand on my shoulder and told me to just ignore her...but I didn’t want to. Instead of calming me down, it made me even angrier. When I got home, I started to think about everything, and I realized that I was mad because it’s not the first time you’ve told me to ignore someone who is being cruel. I know you and I are two different people who don’t respond the same way to stuff like that, but sometimes something has to be said to people like Chloe.”
“I...I didn’t even realize...I just wanted everyone to stay safe. I didn’t want any Akumas and…”
“And then I kept thinking about it, and I realized that you constantly have to make excuses for terrible people. I hate to say it, but your family kind of sucks, and openly recognizing that people like Chloe are bullies would be admitting that your dad is also a bully. It’s not you who I’m mad at, it’s your dad...and me.”
“Wait...why are you mad at yourself?”
“For not seeing it sooner. Adrien, I love you, and the fact that you thought that you were going to lose me because I was mad at you only proves my point. I will never leave you, kitty. I love you more than anything.”
He launched himself across the bed and pulled Marinette into a tight hug. Still holding the Chat doll against her chest, she found herself unable to return the gesture; nonetheless, she leaned into his embrace.
He then gave her a gentle squeeze, causing her to squeak. Embarrassed, Marinette buried her face into his soft, cotton t-shirt.
Adrien chuckled. “I love you so much, my lady. You mean everything to me. You’re my world...no...the center of my universe...wait, why aren’t you hugging me back.”
“I can’t move my arms.”
“What? Why?”
He pulled away from the embrace. Marinette watched as his eyes landed on the Chat plush in her arms. A blinding smile spread across his face.
She pouted. “Once I calmed down...I...uh…I realized that I missed you.”
Adrien planted a soft kiss on her forehead. “How about you put that Chat Noir back with his Ladybug so I can properly hold my lady in my arms?”
Marinette leaned over and returned the doll to his rightful place on her pillow. “Done.”
“Good...now we can move onto the best part.”
“So, hugging you isn’t the best part?”
He stood up on her bed, pushed open the windowed hatch on her ceiling, and held out his hand. “Oh, I never said that hugging wasn’t involved. Follow me, Princess.”
Marinette took his hand and followed him onto her balcony. She gasped at the sight before her. Her lawn chairs had been adorned with fluffy blankets, and two steaming mugs sat on a tiny table.
“When did you have time to do this?” she exclaimed.
Adrien scratched the back of his neck. “Well, Alya said that I should bring you chocolate or something, but I felt like that wasn’t enough. You’re too incredible for something as simple as chocolate. So, I had Chat Noir come and set this up so you and I could watch the sunset together. The view won’t be nearly as beautiful as you are, but it’s a close second.”
Tears began to well in her eyes. “Adrien...I...this is...you’re incredible. It’s perfect. Thank you, Chaton.”
He took her hand and led her to one of the lawn chairs. Once she was seated, he then proceeded to lovingly drape one of the blankets around Marinette’s shoulders.
“Are you warm enough, my lady?” he asked.
She looked up and met his gaze. “Almost...my hand feels a little cold.”
“Oh?”
“You’re hand felt pretty warm.”
“Is that so?”
“Yup.”
Adrien sat down in the chair next to her, took her hand, and gave it a gentle squeeze.
“That’s better,” Marinette said with a contented sigh.
“I love you.”
“I love you, too, Chaton...always.”
They sat in a comfortable silence as the sun sank below the horizon, painting the sky with a dazzling array of pinks, purples, and reds. Slowly, the tension from the day melted away, and they quietly reveled in the love they had for each other.
While this would not be their last bump in the road, Marinette knew that as long as they were together, they could overcome any obstacle that stood in their way. After all...they were made for each other.
