OOOOOH Remastered as Animals Behind Scenes

Oh wow, Ginkgo you're actually getting somewhere with the backgrounds- not I'm not lol. Backgrounds are still a killer, not to mention I had no idea how I wanted to make their den to look like on the inside. So I just went with the general: it's a hollowed out tree.

Another thing I ran into was how I wanted J to look like. I had settled on a fox prior to even starting Sleep nuzi comic. Further solidified by @electronix-arts post on J fox (go show some love on that post, it's an amazing idea :3)

But once I got past the sketching... I hit a wall. The colors for J had to be tested. I tried going with the usual color that I depict N, based off of his merch color. But it didn't seem to fit quite right like it did with V. So I decided to switch her over to the more common red fox palette. There are some foxes that are grey! But I didn't like the way the colors mashed with my style.

A funny thing I ran into was J doing the bap bap to get N's sensor back online. First it was a thought of letting J slap him with her nanite tail, buuuut I didn't like that idea. So instead I went with J just smacking him like a cat would- foxes are dog hardware with a cat software, you cannot change my mind. Then it was an issue of how I wanted it to look like.

Went through two versions, before scrapping it and finding the perfect reference photo.

I've been making progress on yet another project I decided to add onto myself! I really gotta stop, I have too many ideas and not enough time (proceeds to pile on another 3). It might take a little while longer because... very suddenly, a lot of exams were upon me 😅. I will try my best to still get it out by this week, but if not, then definitely next week. ^_^

Hi!

So I recently downloaded Webtoon and of course the first thing I searched for was your adaptation of the fic, ‘A Horrific Fantasy’! I didn’t realise it was a fanfic, so I might wait until Alastor is introduced in the comic before reading as I really don’t want to be spoiled on what he’ll be like in it.

So, I started reading the webcomic and I was just in absolute awe of every single thing about it. I’ve reread it multiple times now because I just love your art style so much. The colors, the linework, the beautiful detailing on the text boxes, all the textures in the backgrounds, the composition (I especially love the start of the Prologue and how the text box drips into the present day), the amazing human designs of all the characters — IT’S ALL AMAZING!!! 🌟

I loved it so much that the first thing I did when I saw my friend today was show the comic to him, and then I did the same thing when I called my family from home today — I was just showing them all like LOOK AT HOW AMAZING THIS IS!!

Besides me being an art student who loves to fangirl about these things, I also wanted to ask if you have any art advice for people who want to make comics or just any general advice that helped you improve as an artist? No worries at all if not, though!

I also always like to ask people who their favorite artists are as I find it interesting to learn about other people’s inspirations, so if you’re happy to share about that as well I’d love to know!

I hope this ask wasn’t too long, but I’ll finish it off by saying I’m really looking forward to future chapters (no rush at all, though — I understand these things take a lottt of time and effort to make) as well as all the artwork you post here on Tumblr because it’s all incredible! Hope you have a nice weekend! :D 💖

I don't think it's worth waiting for the comic to check out the fanfic, because it will take me a long time to get to the chapter with his first appearance (and my work schedule + additional art for the soul is not helping with this, haha)

Well, considering that I'm just self-taught, I can only advise a lot of watching and practicing. This is how I learned: I didn’t have any special courses or training (although that’s obvious, I guess xD), I just found cool guys and tried to adapt some their details to my art - sometimes it worked, sometimes not, and in the end we have what we have now.

Favorite artists… Pixmilk (his Inktober art is absolute gold), Piсolo-kun (or rather his challenge 365), Thomas Fischbach and his comic "Twokinds" (love how simple and harmonious his style looks), Nicholas Kole, Glen Keane and his sketches. I also really adore the old stylized cartoons like "My Life as a Teenage Robot" and how the designs don't even try to be realistic but are still expressive.

Aaaand thanks for the feedback! ~<3 This is my first comic where I do both the storyboard and the art myself (in my previous comics I was just an artist, the layout was done by the author), and such a high rating motivates me to continue trying (◕‿◕)

Hi Ghoap people! And shippers from the COD universe! I see comics are popular (Im also a sucker for those so dont worry!)

And I was wondering: What are the bare minimums for you to enjoy a comic? You see, I never really worked on a comic. I tried years ago for a project of some sort in my local area but never got anywhere. I always struggled with my art, perfection, proportion etc I put a lot of pressure on myself and projects a lot and either i dont do much effort or I do WAY too much and it burns me out. I get overwhelmed and it’s not fun. I am always feeling some imaginary pressure from others as I often got judged in the past and got my things examined closely and it started to get me paranoid and make me feel not good enough. Thats why I never published art before I joined Ghoap in over ten years or so. Im also terrified of art thieves and even more of all that AI shit going around. I want to be credited and known for my art, not be forgotten while my art keeps being reposted you know? SO if I were to make a comic (at least try) and tell a story, what are the bare minimums requirements? I see some comics have amazing art and I know I can’t deliver that. But I do see diversity of style from the 1Farm1 AU from Grimmzee to the Monster 141 AU from Bluegiragi to the CoffeeShop AU from Blueishfishfood and many more I’ve seen here and there. Some have backgrounds, some dont and some have simple elements. Some have amazing details and shading, some have basic shadings etc But what they all have in common is: getting proportions quite good if not excellent. And amazing angles instead of the basic standing/sitting. And all those nice facial expression that makes it nice to read what the character might feel. Especially the eyes for characters such as Ghost or Roach. Aaaand I know colors don’t matter. So at least there’s that. So what are the minimum requirements? I don’t expect doing amazing fight scenes like the Monster AU, I am clearly not that talented ahah but I know that it’s more interesting to have… something more than standing characters all the time. So please in the comments, let me know? Show me exemples? Doesnt have to be COD related but just comics from people around the internet who do it for fun and not professionals working for DC Comics for example ahah I just want to tell stories so badly but I know that writing is… a lot for me. Too much even. I’ll keep trying… but it’s complicated for now. And I know that comics are a great way to see your art get better with time! Lots of mangaka got better the more time passed so.. Why not me? Oh also another comic I’ve been following for years is A Tales of Two Rulers by Figmentforms And THAT is something I can never achieve. My second DnD character for the second campaign of Albornstella: Blood Gold of Vexis, an old Western-style story.

Lenora Lyn - A small vulpine-like beast-folk who is a budding inventor and weapons tinkerer with BIG plans and dreams, with a fascination for weaponry and gadgets. She has traveled to the wild deserts and plains of Vexis, hoping to bring and expand her knowledge and skills to advance technology in society. Despite an impeding war taking place between Vikings and Eravorn, things seemed to be going well.

-aaaand then the notorious O'Neils decided to scoop Lyn up as a captive, along with some other colorful characters. Getting to escape the O'neils eventually, now Lenora and her new friends have stayed together, completing exploits throughout the wild west. To many towns and cities in Vexis, they are now known as:

~The Bourbon Bullets~

But with the war advancing, rival gangs and crimes to balance, and other forces involving a long-dead evil King...it all links back to the accursed Blood Gold.

And there's A LOT of work to do.

So... a bit about me. I'm Gemini, INFP, and I am an introvert, plus a tad shy. Hmmm... I won't call myself kind, but I guess I'm a bit into "fairness" and whatnot. I try to help people in need but hate being tricked or being lied to, hate cheaters and playboys and etc etc. Meeting such people, my last screws gets loose, and i turn into an angry chihuahua. Food is something the two of you share and enjoy together. Whenever the two of you are out at a new city or island, the two of you rush off to go eat something, needing some sort of food in your stomachs. He loves taking you to fancy restaurants and seeing the smile on your face when seeing your food, it always makes his heart beat faster.

Shanks was never a man to care for clothing or what people wear, that was until he saw your style quickly falling in love with it. When the two of you go off to shop, he usually has you pick out his outfits, loving everything that you pick out for him.

Demon Slayer: Mitsuri

Gift giving is a strong trait for Mitsuri as well. One day, she found a small box on her doorstep with a little trinket from her significant other and she immediately found something to give back as payment for the generous gift. You guys have gifting wars, always wanting to one up the other.

I can see Mitsuri having a sweet tooth and that doesn't help with yours. The two of you spend days at cafes, eating all of the delicious treats, wasting all of your guys' money on the small items. You guys always come home and get confused, unsure of where both of your guys' money went, but when the notification of the payment being sent to the cafe was found, you two instantly knew the cause of your guy's problem.

Movie dates are adorable and can be spent together during any movie, especially with Mitsuri who will go out and see any movie, all except horror movies. Before meeting you, Mitsuri hated horror movies, always getting scared of them and never getting the concept behind them. Then, you came into her life and now she goes to see the movies no longer feeling afraid or fearful with someone strong by her side.

Haikyuu: Asahi

You both are definitely introverted, having all of the signs of one and that only makes your relationship stronger, knowing that the other experiences the same thing. You guys prefer having indoor dates and creating pillow forts in the living room only to watch all sorts of movies. (Another character who hates horror movies, but still refuses to watch them when your around getting to scared)

Helping people in need is a strong trait within the two of you showing the most when around your guys friends and families. You're always there for each other's events cheering them on, or when the other is in need of some help the other is there ready to be of assistance. You attend all of his games, making sure to be the loudest one there just so he can hear you and be proud of how far he has gotten.

Synopsis: The Riddler, occupying an observation room at Arkham Asylum, expresses his annoyance with the inept psychiatrists' repeated attempts to pierce his psyche, and decides to give them what they want: the story of his life, how he became a criminal, and why he repeatedly opposes Batman.

As a child, Edward was a cipher, ignored by even the playground bullies at his school. Hungry for attention (especially with ignorant, unloving parents), the young Edward began his "career" in the sixth grade by cheating at a solve-the-puzzle contest - by sneaking into the school the night before the contest, he was able to practice solving the puzzle, and easily won the contest. Edward's fame proved to be fleeting, however, and the young boy realized that to keep the attention he so craved, he had to turn to his true talent: cheating.

After graduating, Edward became a deliveryman, a job he found extremely tedious. Out of boredom and greed, he began stealing from his clients, but even this could not satisfy his ego. Eventually, he donned the alias of "the Riddler", and started sending riddles to the police foreshadowing his future crimes. The Riddler's early career was fraught with many difficulties, missteps, and a narrow escape from Batman, but nevertheless, he managed to accrue a respectable amount of loot and two loyal henchwomen named Query and Echo.

With Query and Echo, the Riddler came to the crowning caper of his early career: a raid on the Reservoir Street depository that completely misled the police and left him with two million dollars. Once again, Batman narrowly failed to capture him, giving the Riddler a more impressive reputation than ever. Now overconfident, the Riddler planned an even bigger caper: stealing a set of Stradivarius violins from both a private collector and a public opera. Unfortunately, Batman quickly put an end to this caper, handing the Riddler his first unqualified defeat.

As he recounts his humiliation at Batman's hands, the present-day Riddler begins to have a meltdown. In a fit of psychosis, he breaks the one-way glass between him and his doctors, only to realize that his doctors had left on lunch break; he had been telling his life's story to thin air all along. Orderlies rush in and subdue him, leaving the Riddler near-catatonic and muttering "no one there…" on an endless loop.

Woah! It's been a long time since I posted something coming from myself, isn't it? Well, the VLD show is over, but the fandom is still alive and creating ideas for a #postseason8 sort of thing, and I actually like this kind of content. Aaaand, because of that, I also love improving my skills to represent moments and characters too.

This drawing was, like, the first thing I drew from Princess Malocoti. I really, really fell in love with her design, is so amazing and cool! It definitely called my attention! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ However, the time passed and passed and I guess I kinda improved her design ideas.

Being she a character whose drawing consistency fades away sometimes, I've chosen personal design options that would fit more, always thinking about how would she look in VLD and a Post Season 8 with different animation. Why is it? Cuz as I read before from the fandom, DreamWorks doesn't have the license anymore, so, maybe to keep the consistency in character design, another Corean or Japanese Animation Studio, along with Studio Mir, was in my mind when I draw the VLD characters. I usually mix the character concept with more realistic facial expressions, with the preexisting designs made in VLD.

I started to practice more the facial concept I actually wanted for princess Malocoti. Even when this is not the sequencing order from one sketch to another, it actually represents how different from Princess Allura I wanted her to look.

As time passed, I wanted to "read" Malocoti's design from the top of the head to the tip of the feet. Having a curvy body as It was in the comics, which makes a difference in style and physical characteristics of VLD, sounded good to me; however, I guessed it needed to be adapted to fit more in the style that was present in the show.

So, I tried and tried to make the character more appealing while looking at the comic's physical appearance. A slender body, with big breasts and bigger hips than Allura, I could see (this is not me being a perv, I had to have specific observations, sorry for the description, though). Seen the previous Sketches, it was noticeable how I've exaggerated body features in order to comprehend, instead of analyzing more, but apart from it, this could be justified by saying I was developing her backstory at the moment too, so I focused on two things at the same time.

Now, I'm looking at it much better as my skills progressed a little bit too.

In terms of hair and body, I made them more remarkable to highlight a difference in terms of design from Allura. I tried to give her features according to the backstory I started to write for her. I thought "Well, she gotta have a convincing design and a backstory that can hold it". I have lots of things in mind for her story and Krellian culture, as well as a new name for her, since I actually want "Malocoti" to be kind of a last name.

However, what I'm talking about? What do I want when expressing a fan Fanfiction concept many of us don't know about? Well, please, allow me to explain the deal.

"Voltron: Eclipse of a Legend" or "VEoaL" (VEOAL), is a post season 8 fanfict that tries to find solutions to problems made in the Voltron: Legendary Defender, using most of the canon elements and writing structures to form new ones that can be explained, offering an enriched story with the proper character backstory that can justify the present actitudes and physically personal changes given to the characters. Enforces moral messages about "found family", "friendship" and "teamwork", as well as including ones that tend to be more developed and serious when it comes to the topics. Due to the main cast being all adults, the level of bloodshed, skin exposition, adult themes and swear words depending if it would fit the character's personality, can appear, adding more to it, these features only appear with a good justification to serve into the story.

Damages caused by Voltron in past seasons can be now affecting the present.

Broken relationships can be existing with the purpose of being "fixed".

Realistic responses, dialogues and reactions can be given.

New missions and new antagonists can be included with an actual role serving the story.

LGBT+ representation will be included with certain characters.

Minor characters like Curtis will have more depth.

Personal main cast backstory explaining their personality in VLD can be highly included.

The main purpose is to give more character dev and development, as well as including comic relief here and there.

A new menace is affecting realities around the universe and their different solar systems. With new oppositions against the Defender of the Universe for cracks they left behind, Coran warns to Lance, who is still struggling with a new identity left by her deceased girlfriend, Princess Allura. Meanwhile, Shiro's decease is increasing with not too much time left to him, breaking the heart of the ex Voltron pilots. Pidge, and a really exhausted Hunk, are on the way to find an explanation to the strange phenomenon with Coran and Romelle's help. Obstacles are in their way to hit them like never before; members with a broken relationship between themselves have to work together to find a possible way to bring Voltron back and save the universe once more. Resistance. When the past is calling them, is it okay to hear them, or just leave them behind?

Lots of stuff are coming through my mind and I actually need to do the fic. I had two attempts before, but I guess I now have a more stablished structure to begin with.

Talking about the progress I made with Malocoti's conceptual design, I looked more at her hair instead of the rest of the features I actually know. While drawing today, I found out that she has an already more detailed kind of hairstyle than just her hair pulled back.

The hair is way different in the two vignettes, however, I took the first one as a reference for her hair, along with a more detailed style in the front of it. The first one made clear her hair is wavy and has braids in the back. With some references for girly hairstyles and looking more reference for elf princesses, I could finally find a personal hairstyle that fits more with her and looks very similar to the one in the first vignette.

I also saw how I actually improved in the sketch and anatomy too, but, well, I'm still not so good with hands. I should practice them more apart.

I was going to draw her with clothes that actually cover her body, but anyway, I'd give you some more spoilers if I do that. This is one, but is not that complex or necessary. She's just dancing to please people as a plan, and later one she comes to fruition.

Jr doesn't actively try to play matchmaker but he does take the occasional opportunity to nudge either of them into actually realizing the mutual attracting Luigi and Bowser feel toward one another. uwu -Bowser and Luigi don't actually date for at least a couple of years before they finally figure out "OH! He likes me too! O:" By that time literally everyone else knew but wanted them to figure it out for themselves. They're a little dumb but at least they're wholesome. -Once they do start dating, Bowser and Luigi go on double-dates with Pauline and Peach often! :> -----------

This intermission is shaping up to be a ‘spot the timeloops’ kind of puzzle, so I think he’s facilitating the past here, rather than changing it. In which case, he’s as limited as Jade was earlier - he can’t really mess with people unless they’ve already been messed with.

Hi, I was wondering. What is up with Stephen strange's fridge? Also in the comics they say he can only eat nonhuman food and I was wonder if it depends on the writers? Because I think I saw him eat human food

Greetings and thanks for asking, anon! That's a very interesting question and I've been meaning to address it for some time now.

I believe the fridge and the whole eldritch aesthetics are related to the creative team back from v4, mostly because of the artist. Chris Bachalo has a very unique style and it's not hard to find those elements in his art, like tentacles, angels, demons and so on.

Jason Aaron, the writer, wanted to portray magic as something that takes its toll, unlike the beautiful theatrics we've seen for literal decades since the creation of Doctor Strange and his psychedelic world. There should be a cost and that cost would be ugly, repugnant even. Bachalo didn't want to be the artist to do it at first but in the end he accepted the challenge. More on this story on the letters from Doctor Strange v4 #20.

Therefore, it was well established that Stephen was only supposed to eat "magic" food (worms, tentacles and other nasty stuff) in order to strengthen his stomach and body. He was a very sick man back in v4 because of the cost of magic.

That concept, however, is... kinda blurred nowadays. It really depends on the writer. Some still worry about the cost of magic (as seen in Strange Academy), while others are more focused on the classic portrayal of magic (DODS and Strange v3). There's a relative common ground about food these days as well. Stephen is seen eating both kinds.

As for the fridge, it also found a balance. In v4, it is portrayed with tentacles but, after that, we can see a few hints that it's now a common fridge with the addiction of some... strange elements.

If you watched NWH, I'm sure you spotted some weird things in his fridge as well, probably a reference to these comics.

Aaaand this is it. You're absolutely right to suppose it depends on the artists, writers and how they want to portray magic. V4 redefined the status of magic as never seen before, so it took a good couple of years to see it gradually returning to a pre-established concept. Now that Jed took over, I believe magic to be more connected to its roots since he's very found of Strange Tales. But the tentacles came to stay so it's very likely that we'll see a little bit of both in the next years.

Aaaand today we will talk about threads and bows!!1 in once i have asked myself, if hats are made of yarn, then... what are ribbons made of? and i did this

here we have four main types of magic which have Hat Kid in game ribbons made from these threads have the same abilities as hats, but it can be used only by Bow Kid "but, Tador, you forgot to make one thread!" actually no, and i will explain it in another post

Hello! Thanks for such kind words, I really appreciate it 💗💗💗As for the ask thing - lucky you, I specifically make only traditional comics because digital art allways was a bit hard to me ""x3

Honestly when people ask me on "how to get started with a comic" I allways feel nervous because...welll......I literally started the first issue of my AU comic Reincarnationtale with making some random sketches and being like "this is in chronological order yea...i guess i'll make a comic out of this...yea". AAAAND THEN ONE YEAR LATER I DID A REMAKE OF THE ENTIRE THING...In fact, I did remakes of all the first three issues and currently doing a remake of the fourth one! So yup, I guess I have zero capability on speaking about how to properly start a comic :"")

BUT! Now, I have more experience in this stuff, so I can say that - WOW, starting with a proper script is VERY helpful! Since issue eight I've been writing a script for each page, describing what happens on each frame and who says what. It really helps understand beforehand what you want to fit onto the page and helps organising the whole comic itself! Then, after I make a bunch of scripts, I can start working on the pages themselves - and for this, I make...whatever THIS is:

Basically I just make small sketches of how I think the framework on the pages will look like. Sometimes the final thing can vary from those concepts, but still, it helps you realise what exactly you want your pages to look like (all of these were made for the recently published issue nine btw)

I can't really give and advice on the sketching part because uhhh....you just draw the characters you want however you want in your art style???? I dunno, everyone has a different style so yeah, no advice on that one, I guess it's preference 👉👈

And, the last thing I'll say (again, not an advice, it's preferably to each and everyone to draw however you want) - these are the things I usually use for my comics! I like making lineart with 0.1 mm liners, using 0.5 and 0.7 as highlighters. Also, I like adding a bit of colour into my lineart...I dunno, it just looks pretty. You can't see it on the picture, but, for the colouring I usually use Berlingo / PrismaColor / BOTH OF THEM pencils!
