The Oscars were announced today and while there is plenty that I am happy about disappointment still abounds. No love for SALTBURN. I knew Best Actor was crowded and Barry Keoghan may not get in,

AMPAS how can you deny him?

but I was sure of a Rosamund Pike nomination. Was holding out hope for a Dominic Sessa, or even unlikelier a Milo Machado Graner nomination for their respective works in THE HOLDOVERS and ANATOMY OF A FALL.

And while not personally disappointed (more disappointed by her BABYLON snub), very surprised that Margot Robbie didn't secure a nomination for BARBIE yet America Ferrera did.

Ryan Gosling speaks on Margot and Greta Gerwig's omission.

Not surprised by Andrew Scott not getting a nod - he didn't even get one from the BAFTAs - I just think there wasn't enough meat on the bones for that role.

Not surprised by Leonardo DiCaprio not securing a nomination as he's been pretty much absent from these conversations. What bothers me is that everyone I talk to about KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON pan his character, but not his performance. They hate that his character is stupid. They don't even touch on he's a bad person for poisoning his wife; no. It's his stupidity. So they hate that weakness in him and it blinds them to Leo's performance. Even director Paul Schrader whinged about how stupid the character was and Leo should have played the role originally offered to him; the FBI agent played by Jesse Plemons.

I love comparing who were being pushed to who actually got the big nomination.

Thrilled for Bradley Cooper as a lot of people were turning on him because they viewed him as a award desperate try-hard. But he really just cares so much about this role. He screened A STAR IS BORN for Steven Spielberg and when the "Shallow" scene came on Spielberg got up and whispered in his ear, "You are fcking directing MAESTRO". When you are given given that must trust by arguably one of the greatest filmmakers ever, of course you're going to be extra to the nth degree.

Not sold on Cillian Murphy's performance in OPPENHEIMER. It did nothing for me, but I'm happy he has had this award season experience. He stays outside of actors' circle and - based on absolutely no proof- I just think he probably felt it al superficial, but when he won his Globe and thanked his fellow actors I can tell he was sincere. I think coming together with his peers in a real way; not just mingling at parties, but by being in spaces where they discuss their craft and inspirations let him recognize that no matter how big the name, these are his tribe and they see the art and value of what they do. Awards season friendships are cool to see. I didn't see one this season but Bradley Cooper said he and Colman Domingo have become buddies this season after doing a photoshoot together.

*I honestly felt that Sterling K. Brown could be the upset and I was so happy to be right. His performance in AMERICAN FICTION is a breath of fresh air. I honestly wanted more of his character.

What I like about his Mark Ruffalo's nominations are that they both didn't think these roles would lead to this.

Brown said his publicist kept pushing him for interviews and panels this season and he couldn't understand why as he thought it was such a small role and he was just satisfied with being in the film, but his publicist saw the reactions to Brown's character and knew it was awards worthy.

Ruffalo said he didn't think he could do his POOR THINGS role because he's been so pigeon-holed and was accustomed to playing roles that were the anti-thesis of Duncan that he wasn't sure he could find him. Having people trust in you when even you yourself don't have that trust, or trying even while in doubt of yourself is beautiful.

Fox_Maiden: I honestly feel like some part of Arya always knew she was the Favorite Daughter/Favorite Sister, and that even her proper southern mother would cut her slack she wouldn't with Sansa (Anxiety-ridden Eldest Daughter). Maybe some small, childish, spiteful, part of herself even felt like it was her due since "Perfect" Sansa was so pretty and talented and Arya felt there was "nothing" left for her. Lots of Arya-fans conveniently forget just how jealous their fav was of her big sister.

And this is actually a realistic characterization. A younger jealous sibling taking advantage of this kind of privilege makes her character more nuanced.

After seeing your ask I tried to find some quotes to explain this further and I found too many and I got angry...

I wasn’t angry at Arya.. I was angry at Ned.

I am just gonna give one example that sums up whole dynamic very well:

None of which stopped Arya, of course. One day she came back grinning her horsey grin, her hair all tangled and her clothes covered in mud, clutching a raggedy bunch of purple and green flowers for Father. Sansa kept hoping he would tell Arya to behave herself and act like the highborn lady she was supposed to be, but he never did, he only hugged her and thanked her for the flowers. That just made her worse.

[AGOT- Sansa I]

They teach Sansa how to act like a highborn lady and this expectation makes her stressed but her sister is free to do whatever she likes and their father shows her nothing but love... no scolding.

And in the end of this Sansa PoV, Arya once again doesn’t listen Sansa and Septa and she causes problems which result with dead Mycah and Lady and hateful Joffrey.

And everything Ned does after this incident proves again and again that he is a very bad father to SANSA. But a very understanding one for ARYA (I am not gonna say he was a good father to Arya because I think he should be more stern with her for her own good).

For example: Ned knew that Arya let Nymeria go and he says this is ok…

“I hate them,” Arya confided, red-faced, sniffling. “The Hound and the queen and the king and Prince Joffrey. I hate all of them. Joffrey lied, it wasn’t the way he said. I hate Sansa too. She did remember, she just lied so Joffrey would like her.”

“We all lie,” her father said. “Or did you truly think I’d believe that Nymeria ran off?”

Arya blushed guiltily. “Jory promised not to tell.”

“Jory kept his word,” her father said with a smile. “There are some things I do not need to be told. Even a blind man could see that wolf would never have left you willingly.”

“We had to throw rocks,” she said miserably. “I told her to run, to go be free, that I didn’t want her anymore. There were other wolves for her to play with, we heard them howling, and Jory said the woods were full of game, so she’d have deer to hunt. Only she kept following, and finally we had to throw rocks. I hit her twice. She whined and looked at me and I felt so ‘shamed, but it was right, wasn’t it? The queen would have killed her.” “It was right,” her father said. “And even the lie was…not without honor.” He’d put Needle aside when he went to Arya to embrace her.

So if some lies have honor, why didn’t you let Lady run off too? Nymeria deserved to live but Lady didn’t because...?? Your honor was more important than your daughter’s feelings or an innocent’s life. (Ned chooses Sansa over his honor only in the very end is kind of… too late)

So you have time to talk about ARYA’s traumas but you can’t even find joy with spending time with Sansa during a tourney...

You have time for explaining what kind of danger you are in to ARYA but not SANSA- the daughter who is actually in danger because she is BETROTHED to a Lannister and idolizes of being a Queen.

You have time for finding a WATER-FCKING-DANCER for ARYA but not a harp teacher for SANSA... Let’s not forget that this whole situation started with Arya’s desire to play with swords but who needs a lesson, I guess..?

Also he doesn’t care when Arya attacks her sister physically? Sansa burst into tears and was hallucinating Lady in her room after Arya destroyed her dress and she tried to make her father listen her problems for ONCE but he didn’t have time ... And look at how Arya plays the good sister right here:

“It’s not the same,” Sansa said. “The Hound is Joffrey’s sworn shield. Your butcher’s boy attacked the prince.”

“Liar,” Arya said. Her hand clenched the blood orange so hard that red juice oozed between her fingers.

“Go ahead, call me all the names you want,” Sansa said airily. “You won’t dare when I’m married to Joffrey. You’ll have to bow to me and call me Your Grace.” She shrieked as Arya flung the orange across the table. It caught her in the middle of the forehead with a wet squish and plopped down into her lap.

“You have juice on your face, Your Grace,” Arya said.

It was running down her nose and stinging her eyes. Sansa wiped it away with a napkin. When she saw what the fruit in her lap had done to her beautiful ivory silk dress, she shrieked again. “You’re horrible,” she screamed at her sister. “They should have killed you instead of Lady!”

Septa Mordane came lurching to her feet. “Your lord father will hear of this! Go to your chambers, at once. At once!”

“Me too?” Tears welled in Sansa’s eyes. “That’s not fair.”

“The matter is not subject to discussion. Go!”

Sansa stalked away with her head up. She was to be a queen, and queens did not cry. At least not where people could see. When she reached her bedchamber, she barred the door and took off her dress. The blood orange had left a blotchy red stain on the silk. “I hate her!” she screamed. She balled up the dress and flung it into the cold hearth, on top of the ashes of last night’s fire. When she saw that the stain had bled through onto her underskirt, she began to sob despite herself. She ripped off the rest of her clothes wildly, threw herself into bed, and cried herself back to sleep.

It was midday when Septa Mordane knocked upon her door. “Sansa. Your lord father will see you now.”

Sansa sat up. “Lady,” she whispered. For a moment it was as if the direwolf was there in the room, looking at her with those golden eyes, sad and knowing. She had been dreaming, she realized. Lady was with her, and they were running together, and…and…trying to remember was like trying to catch the rain with her fingers. The dream faded, and Lady was dead again.

“Sansa.” The rap came again, sharply. “Do you hear me?”

“Yes, Septa,” she called out. “Might I have a moment to dress, please?” Her eyes were red from crying, but she did her best to make herself beautiful.

“Arya started it,” Sansa said quickly, anxious to have the first word. “She called me a liar and threw an orange at me and spoiled my dress, the ivory silk, the one Queen Cersei gave me when I was betrothed to Prince Joffrey. She hates that I’m going to marry the prince. She tries to spoil everything, Father, she can’t stand for anything to be beautiful or nice or splendid.”

“Enough, Sansa.” Lord Eddard’s voice was sharp with impatience.

Arya raised her eyes. “I’m sorry, Father. I was wrong and I beg my sweet sister’s forgiveness.”

Sansa was so startled that for a moment she was speechless. Finally she found her voice. “What about my dress?”

“Maybe…I could wash it,” Arya said doubtfully.

“Washing won’t do any good,” Sansa said. “Not if you scrubbed all day and all night. The silk is ruined.”

“Then I’ll…make you a new one,” Arya said.

Sansa threw back her head in disdain. “You? You couldn’t sew a dress fit to clean the pigsties.”

Their father sighed. “I did not call you here to talk of dresses. I’m sending you both back to Winterfell.”

For the second time Sansa found herself too stunned for words. She felt her eyes grow moist again.

“You can’t,” Arya said.

“Please, Father,” Sansa managed at last. “Please don’t.”

Eddard Stark favored his daughters with a tired smile. “At last we’ve found something you agree on.”

“I didn’t do anything wrong,” Sansa pleaded with him. “I don’t want to go back.”

Father looked at her strangely. “Gods,” he swore softly, “out of the mouth of babes…” He shouted for Septa Mordane. To the girls he said, “I am looking for a fast trading galley to take you home. These days, the sea is safer than the kingsroad. You will sail as soon as I can find a proper ship, with Septa Mordane and a complement of guards…and yes, with Syrio Forel, if he agrees to enter my service. But say nothing of this. It’s better if no one knows of our plans. We’ll talk again tomorrow.”

Sansa cried as Septa Mordane marched them down the steps. They were going to take it all away; the tournaments and the court and her prince, everything, they were going to send her back to the bleak grey walls of Winterfell and lock her up forever. Her life was over before it had begun.

“Stop that weeping, child,” Septa Mordane said sternly. “I am certain your lord father knows what is best for you.”

This whole chapter makes me so fcking angry, you have no idea…

Don’t forget that this happens after Ned talking with Arya about how she didn’t do anything wrong, how winter is coming, how they should stick together…

At this point Arya had already talked with her father and her father showed her love and understanding… also she got a dancing teacher.

(Arya said she hated Sansa too but her father there to make her understand— but Ned had no time for Sansa)

Ned giving that kind of love to SANSA— 404 NOT FOUND.

So Sansa was still in denial about what happened to cope with her trauma and to hold on to her dreams and Ned not even once bothered to reach her… because he was feeling guilty.

This scene explains many things:

Sansa is still coping with her trauma ALONE

Arya already had some support behind her

They fight— Sansa is the one who gets scolded AGAIN

Their father don’t even care that Arya attacked Sansa

Arya plays the good sister with her “sweet sister” nonsense (Do you know who else keeps saying that phrase? Tyrion, when he mocks Cersei)

Their father is taking everything all Sansa ever wanted without explanation

Arya can keep her beloved teacher but Sansa already lost her wolf, dreams, chance to be a queen…

Why would Arya bother to listen her teachers/sister when in the end she gets what she wants? Even when she ruins everything she will have the love and support of her father.

So I don’t blame Arya for her reckless and selfish acts… I blame NED.

I FCKING HATE HIM FOR WHAT HE DID TO SANSA. I am so glad that he died. SORRY NOT SORRY.

What bothers me is this: Was making Ned a bad father to Sansa Martin’s intent? Did he deliberately make Ned favor Arya to make Sansa getting closer to Lannisters?

If this was his intent then he did a great job with writing a lousy father… But if he believes that Ned was a good father to Sansa… oh boy what the hell?

Unfortunately when it comes to Sansa, Martin only mentions how she had a part in her father’s death or how she was the least sympathetic one. So these kind of takes give me the impression of him not being aware of what the fck he wrote.

Like when he talked about how Sansa misremembered the name of Joffrey’s sword but in truth it was Arya.

Or when he talked about how her telling the truth about Trident would affect things when we know that Robert already knew the truth…

Or him blaming Sansa for going Cersei when we can clearly see that it was her father’s doing for leaving her alone… (Also Cersei already knew Ned was going to do sth and LF??!?!)

WHY DOES HE NEVER TALK ABOUT HOW SANSA WAS LEFT ALONE AND USED BY HER OWN FATHER? I wish he talked about these struggles rather than talking about her being an UNRELIABLE NARRATOR even though EVERY single character is UN!??!?!

He thought he did some. Whatever.

So I would say Arya being petty and jealous and using her father’s favorism is a good writing but I am not sure about the author’s intent. But I read what it is written. And it seems clear to me.

I am gonna end this post with this quote that shows how Sansa was in constant stress because of her sister and she was actually right..

She treasured every chance to spend time with him, few as they were. The only thing that scared her about today was Arya. Arya had a way of ruining everything. You never knew what she would do.

idk 50/50 tiny z!xy just fucking dies of cholera, or manages to scrap long enough to find a way into a sect (bc that's the best chance of survival)

calculating... best-best chance is either endearing themselves to the nie (but it's so fcking cold and hard to travel there as a starving orphan brat), or waiting out the sunshot campaign and beg jiang 'big-mad' cheng to let them into yunmeng jiang. or wait out and joing lanling jin under the evil jinternship, but that is definitely making a deal with a devil that z!xy would rather avoid.

(there's nothing z!xy can do for the state of the world. they can't even take care the state of themself).

ONE of jason momoa’s projects whether small or big: heck, i’ve paid for stupid apple tv just to watch “see” and i’m among the only 30 people on this website knowing about this show! i’m even gonna pay netflix again just to watch “sweet girl” in august, i watched frontier back when it came out, i watched red road, road to paloma (jason’s movies) and all- HECK I BOUGHT HIS SHOES because i 100% support everything he does for environment and to stop single use plastic. don’t go around and pretend wb doesn’t KNOW what they’re doing by keeping amber heard on aquaman 2: there literally IS a petition to have her fired, with TWO MILLIONS SIGNATURES on it. watch the youtube comment section on every video with her, every aquaman-video related on youtube: THE ONLY THING PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT about this movie (and these movies) is her and how they won’t support another movie with her, and people have voiced it pretty openly. tons of aquaman fans 100% support jason momoa and love him as aquaman, they loved patrick wilson, they loved yahya, and NONE of us want the movie not to exist: WE JUST WANT AMBER HEARD OUT OF IT. that’s the thing: you want to be an activist for the pocs of this movie? well get her out of it, because they will LOSE by having her on it, and neither wb nor amber heard herself will suffer because of it, it’ll be the pocs i’m supposedly not supporting who will suffer the most. for everything they’ve heard from the public, wb KNOWS amber heard is the problem and the only thing people are opposing regarding aquaman 2. nothing else. fans loved james wan’s version, prefered it to what even zack snyder’s showed for atlantis in justice league. fans loved jason’s version of aquaman, he’s got nothing but praise for it. fans all want to see more of black mantha and mostly regretted him not being properly exploited as a villain on the first movie (since y’know, i’m part of the fandom, i actually know that). so no, me, not supporting a studio that has chosen to stand their ground and to stand up for a racist/abusive/homophobic b*tch (and yes, she is homophobic, don’t come at me saying she can’t be because she’s bisexual, there are proofs) who can’t even come at some locations to work (ie: australia), at the expanse of ACTUAL POCS (who will lose a lot of money, maybe credibility for working with her) is not me being a fake activist. yes, amber heard is NOTHING in this movie(s), that’s why it could be so easy to replace her. she’s just there, playing pretty while the actual pocs of this movie carry the movie (jason, yahya, james; all doing an amazing job that already HAS been tarnished by amber heard- as seen again, through social medias and and such). and again, that’s not adressing how she LITERALLY bullied jason momoa through the whole press tour, mocked him and his character and oftentimes said mera was the main character and “the hero”????? (again, everything is out there, on this thing called the internet, do your own research): some examples, her playing the victim because jason “tore her book’s last page” and how her and her fans literally called him an abuser and toxic for doing so, trying to have him cancelled. how she and her mob LITERALLY cyberbullied zoe kravitz (aka jason’s step-daughter, and also a poc) for talking positively about johnny depp. not even gonna talk how she openly mocks johnny depp (let’s still talk about him, no matter what, you are still ignoring THE AUDIO TAPES where she admits to being an abuser- and the other audio tape where we actually hear people - witnesses to the scene - say she cut his fcking finger!) on social media and bullies him (or anyone who stands up against her; even australia’s prime minister, while SHE is the one who comitted a crime in this country!), how, again, we have PROOF that she’s a racist: faked her activism for black lives matter, refers to latinos as “maids”, uses the n-word. PROOF that she’s homophobic: mocking johnny depp for running to his bodyguard, saying he should shag him and such. PROOF and TESTIMONIES that she’s literally The Worst to work with. PROOF and TESTIMONIES that she ABUSED her assistant and stole her r*pe story for clout. PROOF that she used sick kids for clout and didn’t donate ANY money to charities, even tho she kept screaming at the top of her lungs that she did, only to gain popularity and play the selfless victim even more. remember how she became the spokeperson for dv victims, even tho she was charged back in 2009 for abusing her girlfriend? (and again, we have audio tapes where she argues the difference between punching and hitting her husband, while drugging him with xanax but ok) please, tell me again how much of a “fake activist” i am for not wanting to support that woman and the studio that keeps a blind eye to everything she’s done, to her loved ones (yknow, the actual footage that shows that whitney, aka amber’s sister had been beaten by amber), to the public eye, and to her colleagues on the set of aquaman itself?

health vent

my body is choosing violence because i went out yesterday and walked around a mall for like a total of an hour 😋 i spent the rest of the time sitting inside the car while my mum and sister went to the shops

my head feels so so heavy and my legs and knees and ankles hurt particularly bad but my arms too, and lately my fingers and wrists and elbows. it feels like my muscles are crushing my bones 🤪 and my joints keep having this weird swelling and releasing pain and it’s so ‼️‼️‼️ my joints when i’m moving it standing or anything just feel like they’re fcking like grinding directly onto eachother like my cartilage just evacuated my body or something??? i ate food this morning, 20 minutes later i was dead tired again and fell asleep. i went downstairs for dinner and 5 steps up the stairs i was breathless and my heart was pounding in my chest so hard it was hurting, not to mention the pain got w o r s e 😋 also when i stood up to wash my hands after dinner there was this horrible pain in my knee and then it buckled, which lead to me exclaiming ow multiple times to no response from my family they didn’t even bat an eye 👍 i literally cannot get up to pee or wash my hands without my legs being super weak feeling like jelly underneath me.

cried like twice today and then got yelled at by my sister to just get up and open the blinds and get food myself, girlie i’m not even getting up to pee i am delaying that do you think i’d be feeding myself if you gave me that choice? no because that means i’m going downstairs, cooking food, eating the food, and then proceeding to get stuck downstairs because the post-eating fatigue will kick in, and i’ll somehow have to get myself upstairs or listen to her and my mother call a bunch of people and complain about my father while i’m lying there in excruciating pain so tired but unable to sleep because they’re too fucking loud‼️

my dad gave me strong as painkillers today and guess what ? they didn’t work !!! what a surprise

we are now, as of 3 hours and 44 minutes ago, on day 14 of this bullshit <3 will i ever return to normalcy? probably not!

i’ve resigned to the belief i have me/cfs and that one, way too tiring walk with my brother up the mountain threw me into a lovely downward spiral because there is NOTHING on the blood tests are out of the ordinary or indicate any of my symptoms, even prior to them worsening, were caused by anything hormonal or viral so 😃 literally everything is normal, except for my slightly elevated ANA and lymphocytes but that could be from just about anything, theres no inflammation, no indicators of muscle death, no more immunoglobulin anything, and based off my lovely lab ratting myself to a bunch of meds like antibiotics and anti inflammatories and painkillers? nothing has helped 😋 not to mention the orthostatic intolerance fits the bill too.

i should’ve known not to go on that walk already, i was already feeling the fatigue on and off (we love waking up some mornings feeling like you haven’t slept for days and being unable to keep your eyes open at all) and i was getting weak and tired after i ate but no, i was like “yas let’s go out on a walk” and me two weeks later is regretting all my life decisions

i am really fucking pissed at my mom too because for my sister she travelled across the entire world to like fucking 7 different countries to find out how to help her, but no, for me? she doesn’t even ask how i’m feeling or check up on me, just asks me to do this and do that and go downstairs and drink her stupid chinese herbal soup and open my windows to ‘air the house’ and go see her scammer chinese doctor twice a week, who by the way, is 100% a quack because i’ve gone to her like three times in the past for other issues without change, which means the only way she works is a placebo because my mum and sister believe in her, but my brother and i don’t and she couldn’t help us. the only reason she’s even remotely invested is because this is the perfect excuse for her to keep me out of school, but otherwise she gives no shits. shes not trying to get me a doctor so she can find a diagnosis, or so she can try to help or accomodate, no it’s so i can get a note from them that i am possibly chronically ill so i can be enrolled into some online health school <3

oh luvbug i’m so sorry to hear that :( things for me are weird! chaotic! my mood’s all over the place and i kinda never know what the next day is gonna bring, BUT i am seeking help and constructing treatment plans and all of that good stuff and i’m quite proud of myself for it!

still, in all honesty, it makes my heart ache to know that you’re going through such a rough time right now. i hate knowing that you’re in pain (or that any of my sweet anons are in pain!) and i so desperately wish i could take it from you, because you do not deserve it at all. in times like these, i try very hard to keep my optimistic nature and attempt to find silver linings in the situation. usually, for me, these silver linings are that whatever hardship i’m experiencing, it will make me a better person in the future; it will enable me to grow, to endure, to build strength; it will add character and help remind me to appreciate the good times: there is no good without the bad, right?
