I see dead people and they are in the form of teenagers Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland killed in 1916 and 1989, respectively.
Yes, all eight episodes (too few episodes, I say. A good 13 eps would have been fitting) of DEAD BOY DETECTIVES is available on Netflix.
Series stars George Rexstrew (Edwin), Kassius Nelson (Crystal Palace), Yuyu Kitamura (Niko Sasaki) and Jayden Revri (Charles Rowland)
A bit about the series:
NO SPOILERS
Born out of DC Comics' Vertigo imprint and created by Neil Gaiman with its characters being spun out of the Sandman universe, how divergent is the series from the comics? Not very. They have retained the trio's backstories, but there were story arcs they could not delve into because Netflix's SANDMAN needs to get there first. Other than that, things are twists on canon or new creations.
Of the characters themselves, Neil Gaiman has said Charles was "more or less him" as a boy and in crafting the series characters, the costumes lent a hand. With his buttoned-up attitude, the bespoked suits for Edwin Paine belies his closed off demeanor. Jayden Revri's Charles Rowland had a ska/rude boy looked that was of fashion when he was alive. This was a nod that Revri appreciated as he has explained in the past he's, "half Indian, a quarter Jamaican and a quarter English." Charles also always has red on him as a nod to comics!Charles' red sweater.
While the characters were first introduced in HBO Max's DOOM PATROL, once the plans for a series was announced, it was quickly let known that this incarnation is not in the same universe as DOOM PATROL's characters, despite DOOM PATROL's Ruth Connell reprising her role as Night Nurse in the Netflix series. This series is firmly in the Sandman universe with Kirby (formerly Kirby Howell-Baptiste, briefly reprising her role as Death in the first episode.
Should DEAD BOY DETECTIVES get a second series, Rexstrew and Lukas Gage (who plays Cat King)
have already spoken of their love of Mason Alexander Park's character Desire from the series, with Rexstrew saying he would love to see Edwin's reaction to Desire.
There's no malewife like him.
Other cast members include Briana Cucuo, sister of BIG BANG THEORY's Kaley Cucuo. Briana voices Barbara Gordon and a sundry of other characters on Max's HARLEY QUINN.
Much too hot to be doing voice-work.
Jenn Lyon (Claws), Joshua Colley (Love, Victor) and Max Jenkins and Caitlin Reilly cutting it up in a (literal) small role.
Jayden says he can't wait for fan fiction and edits of Charles and Edwin and says their ship name will likely be Chedin. Mans don't know what he's asking for!
New trailer for Disney+'s BECOMING KARL LAGERFELD starring Daniel Br眉hl as Karl Lagerfeld.

How far along in Lagerfeld's life is this going to go? Does it go through 2011 when he acquired his beloved cat Choupette??
We honour Choupette!
-After stepping away from it for weeks, I finally finished AppleTV+'s THE NEW LOOK starring Ben Mendelsohn and Juliette Binoche as Christian Dior and Coco Chanel.
I held off on watching THE NEW LOOK because I kept unfairly comparing it to the exquisite Disney+ Espana series CRIST脫BAL BALENCIAGA. as both shows cover the same time period and Coco Chanel features heavily in CRIST脫BAL BALENCIAGA, with only a few appearances of Christian Dior. Both the shows are different in scope with CRIST脫BAL BALENCIAGA diving into the man and his designs, whereas the first half of THE NEW LOOK is about the toll the German occupation took on Dior and his family (with his younger sister Catherine, in the Resistance, being captured and put in a work camp) and Chanel's relationship with a Nazi liaison (played with fiendish excellence by Claes Bang).
The last half of the series stills deals in Chanel's collaboration with the Nazis and the repercussions of that, but moves onto Dior's trepidatious move unto having his own boutique.
The closest thing the series gets to a true homage to fashion is a look at the origin of Th茅芒tre de la Mode which was a doll fashion show that took place at the Louvre's Marsan Pavilion. The episode ends with the names of the designers who participated in it and it just a stunning reminder of the legacy these designers - how their names live on.
Yesterday was the 86th anniversary of the publish date of Action Comics #1 which ushered in, arguably, the greatest superhero of all time. The G.O.A.T. Big Blue. The Man of Steel.
Superman!

James Gunn (with his Superman and Lois) observed Superman Day while on set of SUPERMAN LEGACY.
Superman is the greatest to ever do it, so of course people must give tribute.
Action Comics #1 cover, you will always be famous!
Finished watching Netflix's BABY REINDEER in one go.
This show.
Not to trivialize it This "show" is actually seven episodes of an artist who flays himself open to examine the very real, extremely harrowing trauma of his past. Based on the award winning one-man play of the same name,
BABY REINDEER presents actor/comedian Richard Gadd's stalking journey to television. Playing a version of himself, Gadd stars as struggling comic by night/bartender by day Donny Dunn who becomes an object of obsession by customer Martha (Jessica Gunning) after her performs a kind gesture for her.
People are comparing it to HBO's Michaela Coel created I MAY DESTROY YOU, but to me the only similarity is that both shows - both created from the personal experiences of their creators - branch off into more than what the initial subject seems to be. BABY REINDEER deeply explores trauma and the guilt/shame/self-recrimination and overall destruction it can cause.
Nicholas Galitzine is interviewed by his THE IDEA OF YOU (which, the more I reflect on the film I realize I liked it more than I thought) costar Anne Hathaway for Interview magazine.
Some of the Anne with an E questions and Nick's responses.
Favourite Meal
He says sick as fcuk, but when he had the chance to wear something sick he chose these pants.
Please consult Luke Sabbat on which constitutes as a sick fit, please.
Though astronaut crooner geek chic may become a thing.
Amazon-MGM is rolling out their advanced screenings of THE IDEA OF YOU starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine.
Rom-coms are not my favourite genre, so I can't judge them fairly. The film is fun, it's fine. But the crowd loved it, were very responsive so it hit its target audience.
My only issue is that the songs could be better. C'mon now, there have been some fake movie bands that had actual good songs.
Crazy thing is that the next single due out from the film is "Closer", when it should be the end-credit song, "The Idea of You" performed by Nicholas Galitzine and Anne-Marie.
Get them in music video!
And of music video, in the film they play clips from an August Moon video and Nicholas is dressed like a professor in glasses to boot. He's never looked better.
-MARY & GEORGE has hit Starz in the U.S., with episodes releasing weekly.
How are you feeling about this reckless slore, George?
it's a wild action, vibrant, brutal action flick that is right up there with the best of the best.
It's very easy to compare it to the JOHN WICK film (the JOHN WICK stunt team was to do the fight choreography but in one of the multitudes of bad luck that happened to the film during production namely Covid 19, but including the studio going bankrupt, Patel's gaffer dying from a heart attack, losing the location he scouted for four to five months, having to move the shoot from India to Indonesia, thus losing much of the production team and their equipment and Patel breaking his hand on his very first stunt, and injuring his foot when a stuntman stepped on it) Patel lost the stunt team), and while Patel has said his influences were bombastic Bollywood action films and Korean revenge films; for me, not as versed in those films, an easy reference is THE RAID. So if you like that brand of action, you would love MONKEY MAN.
What I especially loved is that after the first act the action levels out, which is great because when it is incessant (as I found JOHN WICK 4), it's mind-numbing, so with act two, you get breathing room and a deeper dive into the story and it gives more depth to the film.
-Dev Patel is just one of the many SKINS cast members who are having a moment. What are some of the others up to?
-Jacob Anderson was in only one SKINS episode but he has remained in the fold somehow.
He even invited the gang to his wedding.
and was on GAME OF THRONES with Joe Dempsie and Hannah Murray.
Anderson can be seen May 12th in series two of AMC+'s INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, where he plays the long living, long-suffering Louis du Pointe du Lac.
-Jack O'Connell, pictured with young Jacob, will reportedly be the villain in Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Googler's next team-up.
Jack can be seen S.A.S ROGUE HEROES.
-The cast reunited at another wedding a few years ago based on pics posted by Kaya Scodelario and five years ago at a Golden Globes celebration.
Kaya can be currently seen in Netflix's THE GENTLEMEN.
-Also on Netflix is Daniel Kaluuya's directorial debut THE KITCHEN.
during his time on SKINS, Kaluuya also pitched storylines and co-wrote a few episodes for the series.
-Nicky Hoult, who played the lecherous Tony, is our future Lex Luthor in James Gunn's SUPERMAN LEGACY.
Phil Dunster is following in the footsteps Gordon MacRae and Hugh Jackman (for at least two nights) and will play Curly in an upcoming performance of OKLAHOMA at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
Tom Hendryk loves him some Philip.
-While Phil is going very live, a few other AFC Richmond-ers are going animated. Cristo, Hannah and Brett with Cristo providing the voice of Chipiri in THE CASAGRANDES MOVIE on Netflix;
and Brett and Hannah (who recently won a Royal Television Society Award)
in the upcoming THE GARFIELD MOVIE.
-Also, for the children is James Lance, who appeared in the second installment of THE FAMOUS FIVE: PERIL ON THE NIGHT TRAIN.
James is living for this hat/scarf combo, isn't he?
Still in the kids realm, Brett has conquered the Muppets, now he is on to Fraggle Rock!
Appearing as Pryce, Brett also gets to sing in the episode.
-On the live-action side, we now have a release date for Moe Hashim's next project; the Anthony Hopkins gladiator saga THOSE ABOUT TO DIE - coming to Peacock on July 18th.
