YES I support Kvothe, YES I know hes a dangerous sociopath with a long history of violence, NO I dont care because hes my sweet little flame my absolute moron my precious dummy baby wizard and I love him
It seems very d&d campaign appealing for me. Everything just connected when I read that Patrick used to play rpg as a teenager...
Probably one of the reasons I like KKC so much is that it doesn't really have a plot. Not that nothing happens, but the tension works by pulling the readers in a dozen different direction gently, and the appeal of the book is to discover the worldbuilding: the magic, the mythos, and the relationships. I love that. I'm definitely writing a story that's a bit like that, too
Denna: Did it hurt when you fell-
Kvothe: From heaven? Wow, I didn’t think you were such a flirt-
Denna: No, I meant when you fell down the stairs.
Kvothe: …
Denna: You just laid there for 15 minutes.
Why does Felurian only seduce men and not women? I imagine after 100 of years you'd like to spice up things a little.
Easy answer: Pat is heteronormative
Possible answer, that doesn’t quite fit my interpretation: Felurian was wronged by a man centuries ago and this is her ongoing punishment of him by only seducing people of his gender??????
Favorite answer: She has seduced women, but they were either alone or with people who didn’t understand what was happening, or no one believed that Felurian would have seduced them. Same with all genders. I refuse to believe only men attracted to women are effected by her.
Side note: Do we think other fey have slept with or been seduced by her?
