PSA: Don't use Open Office

I keep seeing people recommending Open Office as an alternative to Word, and uh... look, it is, technically, an open source alternative to Word. And it can do a lot of what Word can, genuinely! But it is also an abandoned project that hasn't been updated in nine years, and there's an active fork of it which is still receiving updates, and that fork is called LibreOffice, and it's fantastic.

Seriously, if you think that your choices are either "grit your teeth and pay Microsoft for a subscription" or "support free software but have a kind of subpar office suite experience", I guarantee that it's because you're working with outdated information, or outdated software. Most people I know who have used the latest version of LibreOffice prefer it to Word. I even know a handful of people who prefer it to Scrivener.

Open Office was the original project, and so it has the most name recognition, and as far as I can tell, that's really the only reason people are still recommending it. It's kind of like if people were saying "hey, the iPhone 14 isn't your only smart phone option!" but then were only ever recommending the Samsung Galaxy S5 as an alternative. LibreOffice is literally a version of the same exact program as Open Office that's just newer and better – please don't get locked into using a worse tool just because the updated version of the program has a different name!

Artwork made for an AAI fan game that didn't end up happening. They wanted someone to replicate the game style as closely as possible, so these were my attempts at that. Love these bitchy siblings ⁽ˊᵕˋ ⁾

Some family feels for the pokeattorney AU <3 I noticed I have the tendency of drawing them either sleeping or dozing off... I swear it's not intentional. I think Umbreon would fit very well for Phoenix during disbarment era (and ironically, Umbreon has a connection to poison), while the idea of Trucy + gigantamax Eevee is just too funny to pass up (Apollo will have nightmares) Espeon fits Miles' refined aesthetic. Also note how Espeon and shiny Umbreon both feature the lighter version of Miles and Phoenix's signature colors. They meet the whole Eevee family during a smuggling ring case, Trucy begs to keep them afterwards. Espeon and Umbreon both evolve at the same time, but they're in different timezones - it occurs during a case that involves incidents in two different countries, so they're working separately but something happens and their mons evolve to protect their trainers. On a side note I think Trucy + overalls is the cutest thing so I need to draw a fullbody version sometime.

Hmm... Hot take warning, but since the new team took over, HS2 has steadily felt more like actual fanfic and less like the official semi-canon continuation that it was. I still LIKE it, I think, and I'll still keep up with it, but with the air of an odd-but-intriguing longfic instead of anything having any bearing on the characters or universe. 🤷

#ignore me #idk what it is specifically but it Feels different than before :/ #some of the dialogue really hasn't been hitting right these last few updates #and some of the character interactions and plot drama have been. a little much #in a way that bothers me when even the Epilogues didn't #I just. hm. maybe it's all the fourth wall breaking too. it doesn't sit quite right with me #it's still INTERESTING and the art is great though. I hope the team is having fun because it's still a really cool fanwork #edit: also yes I will continue calling it HS2 and not the new name bc I always thought the name change was kinda dumb lol
