Your child self was right. And you're still allowed to say that what happened to you was unfair - that you deserved better. You're right to be upset or even angry. Your child self was not wrong.

Hey! So I have a trope question
Something I’ve noticed since I was little is a that a lot of media with a trio had the same make up of two boys and one girl, is this a trope or just some weird thing that just happens by random odds?
I think it's a little bit more broad and nebulous than a trope, although it does have a TVTropes page. It's not random odds, it's storytelling trends.
For a number of reasons, the majority of protagonist POV characters are guys. Starting from this premise, if you want to make sure your protagonist always has somebody to play off of so they aren't engaging with the story in complete isolation, you give them at least one character to hang out with. This minimum one character can have all kinds of traits (mentor, scoundrel, battle butler), but if you as a writer are taking the easy, normal approach, you will give this protagonist a friendly buddy/rival to team up and squabble with (and this buddy will also be a guy, because again, this theoretical writer is taking the easy approach to character dynamics), and as a second thought you will probably give our hero a theoretical love interest girl for him to pine after so you can (a) write/draw a Hot Lady as much as you want and (b) get Hero Boy to cover a broader range of emotional situations within the comfort of his friend group. Thus you have rederived the trope of Two Guys And A Girl, congratulations on your moderately successful mid-2000s gaming webcomic.
As the story continues you might realize Girl Who Exists So Protagonist Can Remember Girls Exist is not actually an appealing love interest for him, so you'll probably pair off Girl with Second Guy and leave Hero Boy to pursue other romantic avenues. Second Guy is liable to be rather more interesting anyway, since he's going to be a Lancer to the hero's Leader-ness and serve as his primary foil, meaning he has a little more personality and frankly a lot more romantic tension with the lead. In fact, if you want to be really lazy about it, you can take these three characters and snap them into a love triangle with absolutely no extra work on your part, and that's an infinite drama generator at no cost to you.
You might take a slightly different approach if you, the writer, are a lady writing a lady-centric romantic story, in which case Girl is liable to be the POV character while her buds Hero Boy and Rival Boy take turns having romantic subplot adventures with her. In these narrative structures you don't want to add another girl to the inner circle, because the presence of a Romantic Rival (which seems to be the only purpose Other Girls serve in these stories) would spoil the center-of-the-universe romantic fantasy, so your hands are tied and we're back to Two-Guys-And-A-Girl again. You might add a supportive girl best friend when it gets adapted for netflix though - she can pair off with whichever boy loses at no additional cost.
What we're seeing here is Easy Mode Storytelling. This is what happens when a writer takes the extremely well-traveled road and lets their wheels slide into the well-worn tracks and follow where they may. It's not good or bad, it's just easy. It's a story we can recite in our sleep. This particular character arrangement occurs with unusual frequency because there are a number of factors that make it easy, and when you take a broad approach, the easy approach will be statistically favored.
This triple arrangement can obviously be genderflipped - Hero Girl with her friends Rival Girl and Love Interest Boy - but this is less common just by the numbers, because in the space of fiction there are more Hero Boys than Hero Girls. All-boy and all-girl trios also happen, but because most people are straight, most writers will see this as depriving themselves of all the exciting romantic tension they could get from having One Token Character to be romantically viewed and pursued. Additional characters can be added to the group, leading to Four-Temperament Ensembles and Five-Man Bands, but broadly this three-person arrangement is the smallest possible Ensemble Cast unit a writer can easily construct.

Hello author!! I was the one who requested prompt 12 with riddle, jade, and jamil, and let me just say I absolutely loved it!! You wrote all of them so well, riddle and jamil's especially genuinely gave me butterflies in my stomach 😍😍. You said "feel free to message me with a separate request" since you already did riddle before my request, if I may request the same prompt with Ruggie instead? If not, feel free to ignore this!! No pressure!! Thank you so much for doing my request!! 💙💙
Tumblr media
12. You had a wonderful time dancing and flirting with someone at the ball, only to find out from your friends the next day that was your crush. And you have no idea if they knew it was you they were dancing with.
Hi reader!! And I very much did mean you could ask for a second request, sorry this took so long to get out I had a minor brain break. I was worried I was running out of ideas for the Masquerade prompts but RUGGIE- I wanted to write for him so bad after I got his card from GloMas. I didn't expect him to get so excited for such a posh event it was so cute. He works for this prompt so so well.
notes: they/them used for Yuu, Ruggie is a little shit but he really does care about Yuu, did you know sleep deprivation makes you act drunk? Because Yuu are about to find that out. The other event requests can be found on my masterlist here.
Tumblr media
The fabric of his costume had felt weird at first, Ruggie has no idea why rich people insist on making their costumes feel so uncomfortable, but something about the mask brings back some of his confidence. Enhances it even, maybe that should have been his first sign something was going to go wrong.
You have complicated feelings about being stuck in Twisted Wonderland. On the one hand you have made friends you genuinely feel lucky to have met, on the other you know if you make it home no one will ever believe you. No matter where you go, you will forever be stuck with a painful longing for a group of people that you will never be able to see again.
Something about the masks everyone was wearing last night and how exhausted you had been after setting up had brought those thoughts up into the forefront of your mind, brewing a strange set of emotions in your chest. You wanted to cry, you could swear that's what you were doing but when you had removed your mask to check, your cheeks were suspiciously dry.
"Ain't it against the rules to be removing that so early?"
Ruggie doesn't give things out for free, that's why you're looking for him. That's what you tell yourself as you try to run through the locations he could be in your mind, straining your eyes to look through the crowd for a glimpse of gold, it's strange really how foolish this makes you feel. Yesterday you would have had no trouble finding him, yesterday you would have rolled your eyes and said something about how you always find him when you don't need him. But now...
"Here." The stranger's voice is hoarse, rough with emotion much like the handkerchief he wipes your cheek with even though its absent of any sorrow. "You really aren't good at this whole stay'n up late thing are you, prefect?" You think you laugh.
"The headmage had me set up the tables." It's a task you swear should have been done with magic, but your manual labor was clearly more convenient. "Honestly I sort of just want to go to sleep, but that would be a waste of the party."
"Yeah! You'd miss out on all the free food!" You swear, if you had just been more awake, you would have realized why his voice made you relax. If you had been more awake you wouldn't have let him lead you out of your corner and rest your head on his shoulder. If you had been more awake-
"Ha you sound like Grim." He takes both your hands in his and pulls you up to your feet with a truly wicked smile peeking out from his mask.
"Well now that's just rude!" His fingers intertwine with yours and you swear if he would just take off his mask you would see the whole world reflected in his eyes. "I promise I'm a much more fun time than your stupid cat, c'mon let me show you."
"But my mask!" You aren't really protesting, you want to go with him you swear you just want someplace to hide your embarrassment.
"Don't need it~" And he clearly knows that as he makes sure kiss your knuckles while clearly staring from behind his the whole time. "Let everybody see just who you're dancing with, yeah?" ~~~~ "Coast is clear." Jack mumbles, clearly conflicted as Ruggie stumbles out from the supply closet, but he doesn't say anything just yet. But it isn't a thought he is going to keep to himself forever.
"Thanks Jack! You're real reliable y'know?" The freshman's tail twitches, but Ruggie's praise doesn't have its intended affect.""Thanks Jack! You're real reliable y'know?" The freshman's tail twitches, but Ruggie's praise doesn't have its intended affect.
"This sucks to watch you know." He sounds almost as disappointed in him as Ruggie is himself, there is a petty part of him that wishes Jack was judging Yuu too put he knows they're not really in the wrong here. "Don't you at least want your hankie back?"
"What makes you think that's what I'm concerned with?" It's not what Ruggie intended to say, and clearly not what Jack thought he would hear. For some annoying reason it makes him smug, but Ruggie can't even bring himself to stumble towards denial. "I'm not usually that confident y'know? And besides..." He doesn't think Jack will understand his worries. Maybe Jamil would, they aren't exactly friends but he has talked about dating with him before. Yuu isn't from Twisted Wonderland, he's poor as shit, sure you could argue that dating is supposed to be fun and not something you worried about but when you have a lifetime's worth of hard work in your future...
Ruggie isn't big on saying people deserve things, but he is big on Yuu. Sure Leona is a grouchy bastard, Jack has that weird soul mate expectation, the Heartslabyul gang come from weirdly posh countries, and Azul and the twins are sketchy bastards but they all could give Yuu a place worth belonging to. He can't do that, not yet. And no matter how hard he intends to work for one there is always a chance he'll fail. Dreams don't pay your bills after all.
"I don't think they mind." Jack is always too serious when he says things, but there is an odd gentleness to the way he says this that Ruggie hasn't heard from anyone whose told him that before. "Yuu respects and likes you just the way you are, didn't even need me to tell them who they danced with last night they already knew it was you. Subconsciously anyway." That makes his heart do some painful flips, as Jack turns to go. "You aren't a bad guy Ruggie. Not in their eyes anyway."
But he should be. That's the problem. He should be someone you dislike for all the times he stepped on your feet and tricked you into staying with him instead of looking for your real friends. For how he is showing up at your door intending to trick you into feeding him for how much he "helped" you last night only to find you on you way out to find him, food already in hand.
"Oh I'm glad you came." There is relief in your sigh he didn't think he would ever hear from a classmate at this school. "I was worried by the time I found you it would go cold."
"Ha thought y'knew me better than that prefect!" He tries to laugh, but he knows his face is burning red and he is so overwhelmed he can't look at you at all. "I'd never let food go to waste. 'Specially not yours."
He can work the details out later, Ruggie hates doing that. He likes specific plans, but this is nice. If he closes his eyes as he sits at your table he can pretend its his, that you are his. And when he opens them, when he decides to be honest with himself, one of those things will be true.

My take on Amaya and Magnifico as a Villain Couple:
Because why did they not get to be the villain power couple in this??????
I can totally see Amaya as a power hungry and ambitious woman that wants status and prestige more than anything else, and uses manipulation as her main tactic.
Or for Magnifico, he could either always have been self-centered, or every wish he denies gets absorbed by him, thus making all those wishes made with bad faith or malevolent emotions part of him, and over time turning him into a narcissist. That would work as both a metaphor for how power changes a persona and an interesting element to how the frick his powers work, because what was that???
And personally, I think he should have had the power to see people's intentions, a bit like colors or a feeling or whatever, with which he could know if someone wished for a knife to cook in the kitchen or if they were planning murder. Because that's a massive flaw I think. Though the canon orbs could work too, but I just think that it would be cooler.
And Magnifico would be clear that wishes can be dangerous and as such has iron rules when it comes to wish granting. Like that he will never do anything involving life and death for example. You wish for a kitty? Go to the local animal shelter. You want to resurrect your dead wife? Forget about that. You want a fire breathing dragon? That's a safety hazard, go home and become a firefighter. It would make so much sense.
And Asha could be wrong. You know, a protagonist who believes that they are right but actually aren't? I know, revolutionary. In her quest to make sure everyone gets their wish granted, she would accidentally cause both wonders and chaos, putting the people into a frenzy. Like in the film, they would start questioning Magnifico, who would then try to bring back stability to his kingdom. And then 'this is the thanks I get' would get to be an actual villain song!!!! He sacrifices so much time for his people, he brings balance and peace, makes sure that everyone is provided for and yet the moment something isn't perfect, they question him. Which would be where either his ego, or the negative emotions he's absorbed from the wishes come into play. He needs to get rid of this disturbance, so that things get back to normal. But it fails and people get agitated and he slowly loses his cool, becoming more and more aggressive with his approach, until it can't be justified anymore and is now purely about revenge. He's now a full villain. His background isn't, but his actions are. Now, Amaya sees a threat and she tries to get rid of Asha through manipulation. They are a duo, one working as her enemy, the other pretending to be her ally. And it would be glorious!!!! Because they'd be a freaking VILLAIN COUPLE!!!! Do you know how awesome that concept is!!!!!!!!! And I've been deprived of it!!!!!
How Magnifico and Amaya got together is a mystery in the film (except if I just never heard of it) and I think that would be fascinating if they were villains.
For their Villain Backstory, this is what my brain came up with:
When they were young adults, and Magnifico came into power, he spent hours every day harnessing wishes, deciding what to grant and what not to, and defending his decisions to the people who were still coming to terms with this new change. Wish granting was something new and coveted, but also something looked at with sceptism. One day, after the "wishing hours", a young woman come to him. Magnifico told her that the time for wishes was over and to come back the next day, but she wasn't deterred.
She told him that she was here for a wish not meant to be heard by others. He answered that he wasn't interested in such a thing, and that people should witness whatever he decides to grant to others, so that they too could judge his decisions. Seeing that he would not yield, she introduced herself as Amaya and that her wish was to marry him. Surprised, he looked at her, but shook his head and told her that he refuses. She told him that it could be true love, he told her that there was no love.
Amaya demanded to know what it was if not love, to which he answered; Greed. Ambition and desire for power was what pushed her to him like that. Unhappy, she agreed, but pushed on. As the king of Rosas, a country so new and so unstable, he did not have the strength and endurance to leader them in the long-run. One day he would collapse under the weight of the wishes and this country would fall with him. Magnifico tries to disagree, but she interrupts that if there was someone else, a partner who would talk to the people and stand by his side when he made the necessary decisions, then he would have the support needed to move on.
Conflicted and weary, he states that she wants the power of his eyes. Amaya confirms. She wants the power to see into people's heart and feel their intentions, which in turn is a burden to him, who has to feel them and yet make rational decisions over whether to grant their wish or not. More than that, she adds, is that whenever he has to reject a wish, he absorbs it and is saddled with the weight of its emotions. It's true, every wish he reveals and cannot grant becomes part of him, and a weight he has to carry. But the young woman is also a risk; she has very high ambitions. If Magnifico were to make her queen, Rosas would find itself with a leader who looks out for herself first. Seeing his indecision, Amaya says that in exchange for the title of queen, she will grant him a wish too. That surprises Magnifico, people don't grant him wishes. She tells him that she would learn to love him.
While he is flabbergasted, she explains that she will always see for herself first, that is why he is so uneasy around her, but when she loves him, she will look out for him as a priority too. And when he is a priority, so will all of Rosas be, because without Magnifico, there will be no Rosas. With this deal in front of him, where he gives Amaya the power to leader a country and gets what is needed to keep it together, Magnifico accepts. And with their wedding, Amaya is granted the title of queen and the sight to see people's intentions.
Is this flawless? Absolutely not, but I'd honestly give anything for them to have been a villain couple, where Amaya resorts to emotional manipulation as easily as breathing and Magnifico actually has good points.

Void Translations Quick guide:  () a person  [] a void call {} memories ** emotions <> physical reaction  ~breath~
General
The Pale King stopped having lab assistants a long time ago. To many of them got in the way, didn't follow requests fast enough, and asked to many questions breaking his focus. If he even remembers they were there. Oh, and he always forgets that mortal bugs aren't as durable as higher beings and they tend to die fairly easily. If only he had some sort of natural instinct to protect them so he wouldn't have to think about it. Too bad no one falls into that category. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
While baby Hollow managed to organize the notes by date, they don't actually know what that meant or what a date is. They just organized it by smallest numbers to largest numbers. And Hallownest runs on the day-month-year rule so could actually logic that out. And if the Pale King actually remembered that they organized the notes(he doesn't), he would just use the same logic we do when a computer organizes a list in numeric order.

Hi! I'm sorry to ask but would you consider expanding a little on why you think Hazbin Hotel wasn't good/wasn't handled well? I have no attachment to it nor do I mean to defend it by asking this, I just stumbled upon the show last night and watched it with no prior knowledge of anything related to it, all in one (extremely sleep-deprived) sitting and enjoyed it. I don't mean you ought to justify your opinion or anything of the sort, I'm genuinely curious on what you think was a miss! Thank you for your time and feel free to ignore this if you don't feel like explaining🌼
HI! Don't be sorry, most any question is worth asking and being answered. I'll gladly expand.
*MAJOR WARNINGS FOR SPOILERS*
PLEASE EXCUSE ANY TYPOS I'M SLEEPY
-----
I want to start this with saying that I've been aware of and invested in Hazbin Hotel since it came out in 2019. I even have some merch a friend got for me way back when. I spent all of highschool watching the pilot every few months. So I'm not someone that just hates it, I'm just a long time fan that has been super, super disappointed. (Also, I find a lot of other people's reasons for hating it to be dumb. Such as the cursing or sex jokes, because plenty of other adult animations have the same thing and are considered good shows.)
I'm gonna break this down into two lists of a few things I liked and a few I didn't like. It's not everything, but it's the "big ones".
Liked:
1. The songs
No complaint other than they often started awkwardly in the middle of dialouges making it feel choppy and disconnected. Good songs though. Though I kinda disliked the way they were handled in episode 8.
2. The idea
It's a decent idea. It's fun. The story simply is just not committed to said idea. It feels like a first draft. Like the creator was too attached to the very first and original ideas and was not willing to build upon it and cull anything to actually take it to where it needed to go.
Disliked:
1. Pacing/Writing
To be blunt. The pacing is absolute shit. Eight 20-something minute episodes is not enough time to tell everything they were attempting to tell. Especially not with two songs per episode. Everything was rushed, events happening too close together. Even the timeline had huge holes in it and character development was watered down to the "big" moments. I get it, they had limitations, but they could have adapted better. They did fine with the first few episodes. Introducing Adam and the Overlords and getting Sir Pentious into the hotel.
But then they went straight into the fourth episode with a heavy hitter. They revealed the full extent of Angeldust's situation far too quickly. Not enough suspense. Then they went straight into Lucifer's introduction and Alastors sudden "affection". Again, the suspense of Lucifer, Charlie's big, bad, dad being revealed wasn't pushed far enough. It wasn't interesting. And Alastor's "affection" came out of left field. There was no hints to it, no character development, it just happened. And then yep, Lucifer, who hasn't done shit this whole time, just gets her that meeting.
BORING. So boring. That meeting shouldn't have happened till season two. There's no buildup, everything just happens. No character development, no nothing. Even Vaggie's reveal as a Exterminator happens in a single episode. There was no hints to it, and no suspense (yes again that word), and there was no emotional fallout. It should have been dragged out, a constant threat over Vaggie. Even the deaths are bad. The character weren't enough of a character to feel anything for when they died. And their death's were quick and boring. Cheap. Like seriously Pentious died in a single lil tap? Seriously?
(Razzle and Dazzle's names aren't even revealed to the fifth episode? I don't don't even think Kiki's was. They were just background "companion" characters. Like the forest creatures in Disney's Snow White. They aren't important to the story AT ALL. Literally barely more than background characters.)
AND THE FINALE!? It was just bad. So bad. There was, once again, no suspense and build up. There was no emotional vulnerability. It was just kinda sucky jokes and lackluster fights. The only part of the finale I liked was the Vee's fynny side commentary and the result of Alastor and Adam's fight.
The writing on its own it's- Well, it's bad. It swings back and forth between musical, adult comedy, and serious. Which would be more okay, if it was a smooth swing. But it isn't. It's choppy and stitched together. Full of one liners that could make a decent tiktok video sound or something. The dialogue is choppy and bland for every character. They all hold the same tone. They're all flat and to similar. Sure they're unique but they fade into eachother.
It feels like the script was worked on by 100 different people that didn't even email eachother. Or a disord mass roleplay that wasn't edited very well before being turned into a wattpad fic.
It has no strong structure. It's hollow like a house of cards and collapses on itself with one touch.
And the characters themselves are inconsistent. They don't stick to a characterization and all make the same type of dumb ass jokes or are the butt of the joke.
As a whole it just lacks:
1) Forshadowing and suspense
2) Emotional connection (between the character or with the audiences) and emotional fallout
3) Filler, fluff, a way to care about the characters past the serve archetype level
4) Character development
5) Consequences and stakes
6) Personal motives for the characters
7) Interesting conflict
8) Consistency
9) Balance between plot and subplots
10) Duality of characters
2. Worldbuilding
It contradicts itself. And most of the lore isn't really clear in the show itself, making fans rely on it being confirmed by the creators. Also, it's just... well boring. I might just be overly obsessed with angels and demons and biblical imagery, but Hazbin Hotel kinda makes them... lame.
There are so many "figures" in angelology and demonology that they just don't utilize. They do much better with it in Helluva Boss, and I would expect that dedication to the bit (for lack of a better word) to be carried into Hazbin Hotel considering I assume they have much more time, resources, and budget.
(Like why is it Adam and Saint Peter of all guys. Where's Michael, Gabriel, Raphael? Literally any actual angel!!! Hell (pun not intended), what about the Four Horsemen. You don't even need to study angelology, just read the Book of Revelation. Or even take a jab at the 7 Capitol Virtues.)
Also as I said before, it contradicts itself. And not in a clever way that's supposed to be a nod at some hidden secret, it's just bad worldbuilding. Like, are they really going with the "all humans come from one set of testes and ovaries"? Really? And if Adam was human, then died, why is he an angel? Like bleeds gold, calls others mortals, the whole shebang. It's just bad. And Lilith is supposedly basically the "og sinner", but she could have a kid? I could go on and on and on and on and still not be able to cover all the issues I see in this area.
Honestly it feels like the show relies too heavily on its audience simply not caring.
3. Character design
Bad. Just bad.
The "rules" the character designs "follow" are too broad and loose. They need to be stricter and have boundaries in which to design between. The characters all look like they are ocs from three different creators shoved into the same story.
They also just lack research. None of the characters 'match' they're backstories or supposed animal inspiration. They also all have basically the same body type. Which is boring. Not to mention that the characters that are supposedly poc have no poc features. At all.
And the color pallets are garish and hold no cohesion. The designs are just off the wall random. Why is Alastor red (pink???)? Why is Husk a cat-owl-deck of cards? Why is Nifty two feet tall and one eyed?! Why is Pentious a snake with an alive hat? And Lucifer and Charlie are just boring. Though Lucifer is probably the best design. (Saint Peter is the worst and it is driving me crazy. WHY IS HE A WHITE, BLONDE HAIRED, BLUE EYED ANGEL!?!)
And what does Vivziepop have against ears? Why does no one have ears except Alastor and the other more animal characters? They have earrings, but no ears. It's just so bad. The ears alone could fix so many of the designs to be more palatable.
(One suggestion for a design rule. One I tend to follow within my own hell and heaven lore, is using the different 7 Deadly Sins and 7 Capitol Virtues. Like an example, whatever sin got A into hell is what A is designed after. Like all sinners in hell for Envy share similarities that sinners in hell for Greed don't have. And like this can over lap obviously, but there's a central sin there designed under. And the same for those that go to heaven under the virtues. Would also solve the whole "what gets you into heaven or hell" plot hole).
Anyway yeah I'm getting tired (and getting weirdly angry, lmao) so I'm gonna end here.
I know I didn't cover everything I wanted to but this is getting ridiculously long. If anyone has any specific questions send in an ask.
P.S. My biggest pet peeve is that they didn't give Lucifer an actual "dangerous scary" side. Or even a "deranged losing" it side. He's an angel thats been isolated in hell since literally forever. He should be unstable in a way that isn't JUST being depressed in his room and awkward around his daughter. Also the fact that Charlie is literally half angel is just glossed over?!  LIKE COME ON PEOPLE, YOU'RE SITTING ON A GOLD MINE OF UNTAPPED POTENTIAL.
Anyway might just write my own story with the same plot, who knows...

God ok. So I rewatched the season 3 finale right. This was my first rewatch since bingeing the entire show in 2 days with no breaks except sleep last spring so obviously this was my first REAL watch of it that wasn't over emotional and sleep deprived. And I still cried my eyes out.
That finale (and the third season as a whole) is such a perfect piece of television for so many reasons but I'm just gonna be rambling about some of my favorite details for a second so just hang tight
Guillermo interrupting himself at the beginning with "and I deserve it" is SO UNDERRATED I'm obsessed with him
Laszlo draws such a realistic line of putting up a front of apathy even though we as the audience know how close he and Colin got that season. Like obviously he's mourning but it's not cartoonishly obvious that he's lying like we would see from Nadja. He's just unusually quiet.
Colin's pictures being torn out jumpscared me. Not a fun thing to forget about when you aren't emotionally prepared
I miss the Nadja doll. Where was she in season 4 fr
It cuts to Guillermo when Nandor talks about being reminded of how eternal life can be snuffed out in an instant. Camera guys ily
"You're running away from your feelings!" vs. "You're one of the things I need to get away from!" I never forgot about this moment I just can't believe it exists
Do y'all think Viago is gonna be confused when Guillermo shows up as a guest judge on drag race this season
LASZLO HAD A FLING WITH WALT WHITMAN????????? WE ALL JUST FORGOT THAT EXISTED HUH
Guillermo's little grins as he ran around trying to manipulate the house into staying. I love this little shit
Laszlo's speech legit got me choked up. WITH NADJAS THEME IN THE BACKGROUND I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
Ok. Fuck. The fight scene. GOD.
¡¡¡PLANCHA!!!
Wouldn't say Guillermo cheated, fought dirty yes but cheating is a bit of a stretch Nandor. I thought you were a strategist
HOW COME NO ONE TALKS ABOUT GUILLERMO THROWING THE KNIFE BACK ANYMORE. WITH THE "AH AH AH!" THAT WAS COOL AS FUCK I LOVE HIM
"You're just scared of me right now" I mean, that and one other thing probably
I know it's been pointed out on here a million times but I wonder if Guillermo realized that Nandor wanted to share ancestral soil. He must have realized right
NANDOR'S SMILE AFTER GUILLERMO LEAVES IM GONNA BE SICK
"MY NANDO- MASTER" AND WHAT IF I SCREAMED
The hat. Maybe it was packed and that's why Guillermo had such bad luck (/hj)
THEIR PLAYFUL TEASING. UGH. NANDOR IS SOOO BABYGIRL IN THIS EP
Do y'all think NADJA will recognize Guillermo on drag race????????
Catch me literally sobbing at the train station. NANDOR LOOKS SO PATHETIC. YOU CAN SEE THE HEARTBREAK IN HIS EYES. WHILE GUILLERMO CALLS OUT TO HIM. THEYRE IDIOTS AND I HATE IT HERE
The lighting on the scene where Laszlo discovers Baby Colin had no right being that cool
That kinda just devolved into recounting the events of the episode through screaming but like. It stands. That episode. God.

Hello hi! I love your idea to do fics based on Spotify Wrapped! 💕 I'd like to request a reader-insert Chakotay fic if that's alright! (I feel like there's a real shortage of Chakotay fics that don't include a pairing with Janeway.) And let's go with numberrrrrr 38! Thank you, can't wait to see what you come up with! ☺️
Hiii I agree - there aren't enough reader insert Chakotay fics! Hope you like this xx
So Good [Chakotay]
Tumblr media
Prompt: So Good by Halsey Word count: 1.8k Pairing: Chakotay x femme reader Notes: Let me know if you like the third person POV! Also I'm battling a head cold rn so I apologize for any errors or mistakes.
“I can’t.”
Y/N exhaled slowly, breath fanning Chakotay’s lips. “Then why are you here?”
Chakotay shut his eyes and leaned his forehead against Y/N’s forehead. “I don’t know.”
Y/N ran her hands down his sides and felt him shiver beneath her touch. “I saw it on your face, Chakotay. I know you feel this, too.”
“I do. I do, I just…” He shook his head and moved back, staring at her with mixed emotions: yearning, confusion, hurt, guilt, want. “I can’t.”
Y/N stared at him, stomach twisting. She swallowed hard, then pulled away. “You should go, then.”
Chakotay didn’t say anything for a few moments, and for a split second, he looked like he was going to kiss her. Then he shook his head and looked away. “I’m sorry.”
“Me too.”
-
When Y/N was assigned to Voyager, she had no idea how emotionally strenuous their first mission would be. She knew the commander of the Maquis ship was a previous Starfleet officer, but she didn’t know it was Chakotay. The man she hadn’t been able to stop thinking about since their last encounter years back; when he walked out of her apartment, likely to go hold his girlfriend’s body closer to him so he could forget about what he and Y/N had almost done.
Nothing had happened, not really. The two had been working together for several months and one night they’d been at Y/N’s apartment celebrating their project’s completion. They’d been sleep deprived, a little intoxicated, and had gotten a little too close. Y/N had known Chakotay had a girlfriend. She’d known he was unavailable, and it wasn’t until she felt his body heat radiating towards her on her couch, seeing his soft eyes linger on her face, that she’d realized how much she liked him. How she wished they could be more.
She knew it was bad. But they could have been so good.
Nothing happened, but oh how Y/N wished something had. She never would have wanted him to cheat on his girlfriend, but she’d been desperately hoping he’d tell her it was over. That what he and Y/N felt was real.
But that was years ago and she hadn’t seen him since.
Never in her wildest dreams did she think the two of them would somehow both wind up thrown across the galaxy and find themselves on the same ship, one which they’d likely spend the rest of their lives.
At first, she didn’t believe it. Through all of the chaos and danger, Y/N hadn’t really learned or met the Maquis until after the array had been destroyed and their fates had been sealed. She didn’t really get a chance to encounter more of them until she was trudging her way through the corridors of the ship, eager to collapse on her bed and pray she woke up back home on Earth. She passed by unfamiliar face after unfamiliar face—some in Starfleet uniforms that she just hadn’t had the chance to meet yet, and some still in their Maquis uniforms.
She was nearly at her quarters when she heard his name being uttered in passing. She stopped dead in her tracks and looked to the couple of Maquis talking to themselves down the corridor. She must have been hearing things, because there was no way…
“—I can’t believe Chakotay agreed to all this,” one of them said, “Letting Starfleet be in command of us all.”
“Yeah,” said the other. “Just because he used to be Starfleet, doesn’t mean we all want to be shoved into their stuffy system.”
Y/N stopped listening after that. Chakotay was there. On Voyager. In the Delta Quadrant. Stranded with the rest of them for who knew how long.
“Computer,” Y/N said. “Locate Chakotay.”
“Commander Chakotay is in his quarters.”
Y/N’s heard raced. She had a brief thought of, he’s already been promoted to commander? but quickly shoved that aside and asked the computer for the location of his quarters. She made her way there as quickly as she could without looking weird. When she reached his door, her hand hovered over the doorbell.
She didn’t even know what she was going to say to him, but she needed to see him. They’d have to speak to one another and work together eventually, so she might as well rip the bandage off.
Taking in a deep breath, she pressed the console and the chime rang.
“Come in.”
Y/N’s stomach flipped at the sound of his voice. She opened the door and stepped inside, heart beating so loudly she could barely hear anything else.
“Y/N?”
She turned and her lips parted. There he was, standing not ten feet from her. He looked the same, albeit with a new facial tattoo. He was still as handsome as she remembered him being.
“Hi,” Y/N said quietly, taking another step in to allow the door to close behind her.
Chakotay’s eyes darted around her, as if he couldn’t believe she was standing there. She could practically hear the gears turning in his head.
“I… heard you were on board,” she said slowly. “Thought I would… say hi.”
Chakotay took a small, hesitant step forward. “Y/N, I—wow. It’s… been a while.”
“Yeah.”
Chakotay offered her a smile. “It’s nice to see a friendly face.”
Y/N tilted her head to the side. “Who says I’m going to be friendly?” she mused lightly.
Chakotay chuckled. “Wishful thinking.”
Y/N returned his smile. “It’s good to see you.”
“You too.” He waved to his couch. “Sit. I’d offer you a drink or something, but, well, you know the replicators are still down.”
Y/N nodded and moved to the couch. “It’s alright.”
Chakotay sat on the other end. He stared at her for a few moments in silence. “What are the odds?”
“I’m wondering that, myself.” Y/N shook her head slowly, still having a sense that all of it was just impossible; maybe she’d still wake up tomorrow and learn it was all a dream. But if it was a dream, she wanted to make the best of it.
She reached out her hand tentatively, resting it on the cushion between them.
A genuine smile spread on Chakotay’s face. He placed his hand atop hers and she took in a sharp breath. The warmth of his palm was comforting and familiar. She intertwined their fingers and Chakotay squeezed gently.
“I can’t believe you’re here,” Y/N murmured, staring at their hands. “I didn’t know you joined the Maquis.”
“When the fighting started on my home world, I had to go,” he replied simply. “I couldn’t just sit back and do nothing.”
Y/N nodded. “That makes sense.”
Chakotay made a soft, thoughtful sound.
Y/N looked up and met his gaze. “What?”
He smiled. “Nothing. Just nice that you aren’t ridiculing me.”
Y/N shook her head and gave him a funny look. “You know I wouldn’t do that. Especially not for something like that. Starfleet may deem the Maquis to be terrorists, but… If someone came by Earth one day and said we had to give the planet to, say, the Xindi? Yeah, pretty sure a lot of people would also rebel against that.”
Chakotay’s smile widened. “I knew there was a reason I liked you.”
Y/N’s cheeks flushed and she ducked her head. “I know the fight must mean a lot to you—you never were one to resort to violence unless absolutely necessary—but… I’m glad you’re here away from it.” She cringed. “Not that I want you to be stranded in the Delta Quadrant for the next seventy years, but—”
Chakotay’s quiet chuckle cut her off. “I know what you’re trying to say.”
She nodded silently.
Chakotay gave her hand a squeeze. “We should probably talk about things. If we’re going to be working together for the rest several decades.”
Y/N’s stomach flipped. She nodded because of course she wanted to talk about it, but at the same time she just wanted to keep talking to him about anything but. It was just so nice to be with him like that: close but not too close with a comfortable, unspoken trust between them. “Yeah, I know. Look, I—I’m sorry. I know it was bad—that I didn’t push you away or stop you more. I know nothing really happened, but I shouldn’t have let things get so… emotionally complicated before that night.”
“It isn’t your fault,” Chakotay said. “You aren’t responsible for my actions.”
“Still… I should have respected your relationship more.”
“I appreciate you saying that,” he said softly. “So should I.”
Y/N bit her lip and looked at him for a few moments. “Are you two still together? I know… I know a lot of people on board are struggling with the realization that they won’t see their partners for a long time.”
Chakotay’s look softened. “No, we broke up.”
“Oh.” Y/N’s heart fluttered, but she instantly felt guilty because she shouldn’t feel happy that his relationship didn’t work out.
“That night,” he said slowly, carefully, “after I left, I… I did a lot of thinking. No matter what happened with you and I, I knew I had to end things with her.”
“Oh,” Y/N repeated, unsure of what else to say.
“So I did. I broke up with her and there wasn’t anything I wanted more than to go to you and tell you how I felt.” A look of guilt passed over his features. “But it didn’t feel right. Not right after I broke up with her. So I waited to let the dust settle and see if space between you and I would change anything.” He shook his head. “But you were all I thought about, Y/N. Everything reminded me of you, but then more time passed and it just never felt right to reach out to you again. The project we’d been working on had ended and we both had new assignments… But I never stopped thinking about you.”
Y/N shifted closer. “I never stopped thinking about you, either. I felt awful for what happened. I knew it was bad, and I knew that reaching out to you so soon after would be even worse. But… but I never stopped thinking about what we could have been.”
Chakotay lifted her hand and feathered his lips to her knuckles. “It isn’t too late to find out.”
Y/N’s breath hitched. “I guess not.”
“If you want to give it a try,” Chakotay said, staring at her. “I won’t beg or force you, and I will back off immediately if you tell me to. But we’ve been given a second chance, and I… I think we could be good together.”
Y/N pulled her hand out of his and hurt flashed across his features. But then she took his face in her hands and moved closer and just before she kissed him, she saw him smile.

found my new fav aang stan smackdown. op went off
Thanks for the link to such an interesting discussion. It's extremely interesting to read different interpretations of the same plot.
Personally, my opinion regarding Aang is a little different from what I see in the hashtags. It’s difficult for me to condemn his actions from a moral point of view, because I love when the boundaries of this very morality are tested in a work. I love it when characters aren't representative of everything that's right. It's the reason I love Zuko and Katara as individuals, and the reason I don't judge Aang's mistakes.
His mistakes are the most interesting thing for me in terms of drama, because I'm interested in the emotions that the situation evokes.
My problem starts when the plot itself justifies it. When Aang's mistakes in behavior are shown either as a virtue, or they are conveniently forgotten about. And this happens quite often, and it annoys me because it deprives me of really interesting conflicts with the plot.
For example, his relationship with Toph is insultingly unrevealed, and he's extremely poorly integrated into the concept of the world etc. That is, I don’t like Aang not because he’s a bad person, but because it’s like I’m being limited from his really dark sides that I want to explore.
Yes, he makes mistakes within the plot, but only safe ones. He won't rob people like Zuko or take revenge on someone like Katara. He's the main character, which means he must be perfect. And it would be easier if I was infuriated by his perfection. No, it infuriates me that he isn't perfect, but the plot is trying to pretend that this isn't the case, that he's the purest child in the world.
But for the same reason, I don't condemn his negative actions. Rather, I blame the writers for not allowing these actions to truly impact Aang and his relationships with people, which makes me feel like I'm looking at a fanfiction, and the original story exists somewhere out there, we just weren't told it well.
Therefore, I don’t know if I can call myself a supporter of this very interesting, but not close to me, opinion. After all, it’s precisely those mistakes that are condemned in this post that make Aang an interesting character for me personally. And I think it’s a huge omission that they're abandoned by the plot, ignored or justified by the authors

All right guys, time for me to over-analyze Earthspark.
Okay I kept seeing people point out in Earthspark where Bumblebee making a joke about Soundwave being energon deprived and accidentally makes a cassette explode inside of him and they are just shocked that it's either so out of character or its dark humor is somewhat bad.
I get it but I think it's understandable why he would act this way. Bee is very likely born in the middle of the war and we all know that raising a kid in a damn war is not a good place for them. They are forced to be able to fight, adapt and mature immediately because their lives depend on it, not every time an older bot is around to help them. But the bots likely try their best to have a nice environment for them(especially that it was Optimus who mentored Bumblebee).
This would have an effect on them and one of them is they are likely to be more alert, serious, have problems socializing and maybe form a different kind of personality like, I dunno, dark humor perhaps.
In episode 3 when they are playing charades Bee said it was an 'injured deception' How do you proceed in this situation?' when clearly it was a chicken. It's obvious that he is using game night as a way to teach or train the Terrans or get closer to them(and I face-plamed at some of those scenes but still laughing) and we can see how that went through.
But what if Bee only acted this way because, again his entire life is focused in the war, he is under pressure. The Bots need to teach and prepare him for everything and now that there's no war it's hard for them to adjust just like Megatron said that 'the war is clearly over for everyone'.
That line hit me so hard.
Because it does not only apply to the Decepticons who willingly refuse to surrender but to everyone because it's not easy to just adjust in a new and more relaxed life when the entirety of your life is about fighting for your life and taking risks.
Not to mention the possible scars you've got along the way whether it's physical, mental or emotional scars. The habits and mindsets formed to survive in their war.
It's impossible for them to just, I dunno, settle down or throw that away.
I doubt that Bee is the only one affected by this.
In short
.
.
.
The war just screwed them all up.
Also we aren't even sure if the cassetticon lived or not. All it said was that it exploded when Soundwave tried to eject it. I know it must damn hurt (hungry and wounded that hurts💔) but who knows maybe they lived and Bee just didn't get the chance to finish his story because it's the wrong the time to tell that joke infront of kids too who are worried for Twitch and Thrash whom are likely energon deprived.
He probably tries to lighten the mood with some humor but we know he failed.
That's all I got and I think I might got some of it wrong but I can't remember. Feel free to correct me.
Edit: I forgot to put some things here like the assumed cassette who exploded is Rumble and like how some cope by making humor and such because I'm not good at English so thanks for the ones who commented in this.

PAC Reading: The Chariot
The Chariot talks about willpower, drive, and taking the reins in your own life. It's having a balance between creativity and logic, using both to go after your goals. What parts of yourself do you need to harness to achieve your goals?
This reading is for entertainment purposes only and is not a substitute for professional help in any capacity. Remember your choices are all your own, use common sense, and don't be a dumbass.

Y'all seem to be avoiding deeper emotions. For some of you, it's just emotions entirely. It's not even that you're avoiding negative or 'bad' emotions. You're also avoiding the things that can bring you a deeper sense of joy. I think it's genuine emotion that you're avoiding. Y'all seem to have this view of emotions that they're irrational, soft, weak and I'm hearing gross, so I guess for at least one of you emotions are gross. The one that is being pushed the most though is thinking being emotional = being dumb. I'm seeing this example of someone who judges someone for something, then they go and do it in secret. You may be the type to deprive yourself of something in the name of being 'rational'. Now, the way it's being shown to me is that you are going SO damn far avoiding emotions that you're being more illogical now then you would have been if you just let yourself FEEL. It's gotten to the point that being 'logical' is costing you. It's like you see being unemotive as a strength? Listen, the strength is understanding when and how to communicate your emotions. Not just avoiding them. Because let's be honest here, you feel emotions. You're just running from them. You think that if you keep pushing them away and pushing them down you'll somehow reach a point where you're okay and you just don't have to deal with them. Babe. You want to be happy, you want to FEEL happy. We all do. And that's the thing. You're trying so so fucking hard to convince yourself that you don't want things and you don't need/have emotions but you do. You want to be loved (platonically or romanticly). You want to do things that make you feel things. You do all this shit to prove to yourself or others that you're strong, but babe, you are strong, you have nothing to prove. The Chariot is all about combining two opposite things together and using them to move forward. What it's here to tell you is that you CAN be both emotional and rational. They aren't even opposites, you just think they are. Emotions are another way our body and subconscious communicate with us. Emotions tell you what you think in a lot of ways. You feel happy? You think something is nice or good. You feel sad/angry you think something is wrong. Now, that doesn't mean what you think/feel is always right, you can and will misunderstand situations. We all do. But condemning yourself for feeling something? For laughing when you're happy? Or crying when you're sad? Is not helping anyone. I'm serious. Tell me who are you helping by not letting yourself be happy or sad? Who the hell could benefit from that? Because it certainly isn't you. The Chariot is here saying to achieve your goals. to live your life and own it. You have to let yourself feel it.

The lil Square
Y'all seem to be actively avoiding your potential. I think some of y'all know this and others may not. Y'all see going after what you want as rocking the boat for some reason. You may be in a situation where letting yourself embrace your potential will make someone else insecure, make others mad, or you feel like they'll judge you for what you're good at. There's a bit here about seeing your true potential for what it is as being egotistical or arrogant. Honey, I'm here to tell you it's not. I promise. Why are y'all judging yourselves for what you're good at?? There are enough people in the world who will judge you for shit, you don't need to do their job for them. You seem to think that if you pick at yourself before others can, you'll catch every flaw or you'll be able to handle criticism better. That ain't how this works. Because A: most 'flaws' people pick at are more about preference, what one person hates about what you do others will love you for it. B: You end up breaking yourself down before you even get started because you're soo focused on the 'flaws' that you don't see the awesome parts. And C: You end up fitting yourself into a model that is palatable to everyone and lose what you liked about it in the process. It's impossible to be liked and approved of by everyone. You seem to be soo focused on all you're not good at and just dismissing what you are good at. Babe, you need to reverse that. Own your strengths. If others don't like that they can go fuck themselves. There's a bit here about comparing yourself and being afraid of competition. Here's the thing about that though: Yes, there will be people better at whatever you're trying to do. BIG BUT HERE (haha), that does not take away from your strengths. It doesn't. Someone else being good at something doesn't make you bad at it. A rose is good at being a flower, but that doesn't mean a sunflower is bad at it. That being said, YOU CAN BE 'BAD' AT SOMETHING. THAT IS OKAY. YOU CAN DO SOMETHING TO JUST DO IT. YOU CAN DO IT JUST FOR YOU. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE GOOD AT SOMETHING TO JUSTIFY DOING IT. GETTING JOY FROM DOING IT IS REASON ENOUGH. There's an underlying message here about jealousy and letting others do things that they enjoy badly. See, when we judge ourselves for something, we usually end up judging others for it. Everyone does this to some extent, we're human after all. The advice here is to let yourself just be and do and not judge yourself for it. That will reflect outward towards others. As above so below, as inward so outward. When you feel safe enough with yourself to let yourself reach your potential fully AND openly be bad at some things, others will feel safe enough with you to do the same.

Sphinx Two
Y'all came through strong, y'all may have some intuitive abilities going on here. You seem to have this fucked perception of yourself and your intelligence. You seem to be more emotional, maybe even consider yourself sensitive. What I'm seeing is that you may think that means you lack judgment or rational thinking. And that embracing your more logical side means losing your emotional intelligence. (the other sphinx group had the exact opposite issue, which is kinda cool cause one sphinx is meant to represent logic and the other emotion, and the chariot brings them both together) You may have been taught to believe that being sensitive means being weak, and means you lack intelligence. Which we know is bullshit. You seem to take it one step further though and avoid things that require you to use your mind. Y'all seem to feel like you just can't do things, can't make decisions because you can't trust your judgment. Maybe people have talked to you that way so much that you've started to believe it. Well, fuck that. YOU ARE SMART. YOU ARE CAPABLE. You absofuckinlutly can be emotional AND smart. It's okay to feel things deeply. It's okay to be sensitive. You need to understand that there is more to you than that though. You're not stuck with one singular trait. You can be a motherfucking badass and cry during sad movies, or happy movies for that matter. Y'all seem to have been put in this limiting box, whether by yourself or others or society it doesn't matter. What matters is you saying fuck it and embracing every side of yourself. The emotional side. The confident side. The smart side. The shy side. The brave side. The scared side. The wild side. The tame side. You are a full, complex person. We all are. You're limiting yourself by keeping yourself in this box. You don't have to maintain this easy-to-grasp personality for the people around you. Yea, they may not be able to handle the full complexity that is you but that's their problem. Complex doesn't mean bad. Each and every one of us is full of complexity and contradictions. We're human. I keep hearing 'they'll think it's weird'. Sweetheart, does that really matter? I'm serious. Some people think tarot is weird and here we are. Even the roughest opinions are just that, opinions. (Y'all may want to read the second pile's reading, it may help you.) No matter what you do, someone somewhere will have a problem with it. Are you really going to let that stop you? You really are going to deprive yourself of something awesome purely because someone else (who doesn't give a shit what you think of them) will be whiny about it? No offense babe, but I think you need to reevaluate your priorities.

Chapter 15 - The Mystery of Tears
Song Qingshi had a bit of a sweet tooth.
Seeing that the weather was getting hotter and hotter, he dragged Yue Wuhuan into a riverside teashop selling iced desserts and ordered two large bowls of Sushan* and lotus drinks.
*T/N: 酥山 is a type of what we'd call ice cream that originated in the Tang Dynasty. It's a little more ice than cream)
"By the way," Song Qingshi recalled an anomaly in Yue Wuhuan's medical case and asked straightforwardly, "Your eyes don't shed tears. I checked your tear glands, but there wasn't any problem. What's going on? Is it congenital? "
Yue Wuhuan wasn't interested in sweet food, so as he picked at the ice cream for a while, he was taken aback when he heard the words. After thinking about it, he said: "It's not congenital. . . I also cried when I was younger but didn't like being seen, so I always hid and cried. Later, when I was sold into the manor, I found that crying out during those dirty acts would excite those people more. I didn’t want them to get what they wanted, so I learned not to cry. . . After holding them back long enough, you just stop crying."
Human emotions can be deprived, and there have been psychological experiments that violate human ethics to prove this point.
Yue Wuhuan was forcibly deprived of his ability to cry after being imprisoned in a cage through harsh control training and psychological suggestion.
Song Qingshi suddenly felt that the freezing treat in his hand was no longer sweet.
"It's not a bad thing. Tears aren't a necessity of life." Yue Wuhuan smiled indifferently and comforted him. "I'm satisfied that there's something in me that can't be controlled by the Acacia Seal, so Master doesn't need to care about it."
"How can you not care?" Song Qingshi gently opened his curtained gaze and looked at his beautiful eyes again. He said seriously, "It's human instinct to laugh when you're happy and cry when you're sad. Don't worry, I'll find a way to make you cry!"
After saying this, he realized that what he said was wrong. How could there be any reason to make others cry?
Song Qingshi shrank back into his seat in embarrassment and forced himself to save face: "It doesn't have to be sad. I also cry when I'm excited. . ."
"So, Master can cry when he's excited?" Yue Wuhuan remembered the scene of him crying emotionally under him in his dream, and a strange pleasure arose in his heart. He leaned slightly sideways to force out a clean breath, relying on the presence of his curtain of hair to isolate their line of sight. He didn't hide the longing in his eyes, licked his thirsty lips, and couldn't help teasing with a seductive voice, "I look forward to Master making Wuhuan cry. . ."
Seeing that he didn't totally crash and burn, Song Qingshi was relieved. He patted his chest and promised: "Leave it to me!"
He would go back and study psychotherapy properly!
Yue Wuhuan smiled happily for some reason.
Suddenly, the sound of joking cultivators came from the space, seemingly interspersed with words like Golden Phoenix Villa.
Song Qingshi immediately exited his divine thoughts and turned around.
Sitting in the next cubicle were two casual cultivators with basic foundational cultivation. One was a sword cultivator, and the other was a demon cultivator. Neither was ugly in appearance, but they spoke freely, discussing the recent events in the Immortal World:
"That mad Daoist and Golden Phoenix Manor are completely going at it with each other. A few days ago, the owner of Golden Phoenix Manor was severely injured."
"Thirty years ago, the mad Daoist's only son, Daoist Lie Yun Zhen, disappeared, and the treasure of his sect was lost. He offered a huge reward and pursued the murderer for many years. Finally, he found out that the Heart Guarding Terrace was in the hands of Lord Jinzhuang. He must seek justice no matter what."
"I didn't expect that the owner of Golden Phoenix Manor would also be a murderer and a treasure hunter."
"That's the Heart Guarding Terrace, the best cultivation weapon in the world. Who wouldn't be tempted?"
"The same goes for Lord Jinzhuang. It's not good to offend anyone, but to provoke that crazy Daoist, that protective lunatic. . ."
"Since Lord Jinzhuang refuses to admit that he killed Lie Yun, there's still something to talk about..."
". . ."
"Many acts of unrighteousness will lead to your own death." Song Qingshi hated Jin Feiren's behaviour. He secretly muttered a few comments about "garbage" and turned around and quietly told Yue Wuhuan, "If Golden Phoenix Manor comes to ask for medical treatment, just say I'm not here. We're closed, I'm gathering medicine, make up a better reason to send them away. Let the medicine servant steward come forward, don’t see those bastards. . ."
Yue Wuhuan responded obediently.
Song Qingshi couldn't help but ask: "Do you know about the Heart Guarding Terrace?"
"The matter of Master Lie Yun happened 30 years ago, and I only entered Golden Phoenix Manor 10 years ago." Yue Wuhuan explained with a smile, "Jin Feiren is naturally cautious. With the low status of the slave and the Acacia Seal controlling our words and actions, we are unable to access any hidden matters. . ."
It only took him a few years to discover the matter from scattered clues and guess the whereabouts of the Heart Guarding Terrace. Then, in a cryptic way, the Copper Fortune Immortal realized that Jin Feiren had also conceived a baby thirty years ago, and there was something fishy about the conceiving process. The Copper Fortune Immortal was a character who wanted money but not life. He openly flattered Jin Feiren but secretly had some personal grievances. After he found some evidence, he didn't show mercy to Golden Phoenix Manor and sold it to a crazy Daoist at a high price.
After confirming that Copper Fortune Immortal was investigating the Heart Guarding Terrace matter, he planned to die with confidence.
He even endured an extra two years of torture just to do this pleasurable thing.
Jin Feiren would never have imagined that a slave whose words and actions were involuntary could also viciously stab him, right?
However, the madman failed to kill the beast.
What a pity. . .
Yue Wuhuan suppressed the regret in his heart and secretly glanced at Song Qingshi, who was next to him, fearing that he would find out that he was malicious. He was good at calculating his true face, so he put on the gentle and kind sheepskin cloak again and continued to eat ice obediently.
The topic of the two casual cultivators next door began to change, and it actually shifted to Medicine King Valley:
"It's said that the Immortal Medicine King is the most pure-hearted and ascetic ancestor outside of Buddhism, but I didn't expect him to be a fool."
"The old house in Medicine King Valley is on fire, it's burning fast."
". . ."
Song Qingshi looked at Yue Wuhuan suspiciously. He didn't remember there being a fire in Medicine King Valley.
Yue Wuhuan did not want these filthy words to touch his ears and got up to leave: "Master, I don't want to stay here."
Song Qingshi hesitated and got up to pay the bill.
But the sword cultivator said with a smile: "Who wouldn't know that Prince Wuhuan is so beautiful and charming that he has charmed the Immortal Medicine King into a lustful state?"
The demon cultivator also smiled evilly: "As long as you enter Golden Phoenix Manor, who hasn't played with that slut? The most beautiful thing is the one that has been played by Lord Jin. Immortal Song lives in seclusion, so he doesn't know about this. He must have taken this slut to do some forbidden things. I saw that Prince Wuhuan's bedside manner is unique. It can make men lose their souls. Immortal Song has never tasted these things, and he can't stop."
"Hahaha, I really want to see it with my own eyes. . ."
Song Qingshi's face turned blue when he heard that. He wished he hadn't left early. He looked at Yue Wuhuan cautiously, unable to guess his expression through his curtain of hair. After thinking about it, he felt that he couldn't run away, and he had to do something that strong men could do, so he rolled up the sleeves of his robes and went to give them a piece of his mind for Yue Wuhuan.
Yue Wuhuan couldn't hold back, so he could only let him go.
Song Qingshi walked up to the two of them with arrogance, suppressing the nerves from his social anxiety, and slammed on the table heavily, constantly controlling the cursing words in his heart.
The sword cultivator and the demon cultivator raised their heads and saw a little beauty in white clothes standing awkwardly in front of them, obviously very nervous but pretending to be calm. He looked at each of them, pink lips wanting to say something as if there were a thousand words wanting to come out.
What's happening here?
It's not that they think they're handsome, and he wants to offer himself as a pillow seat, right?
Song Qingshi stumbled and said: "I, I. . ." He found that he really didn't know how to swear, so what should he say to sound the most aggressive?
Most of the cultivators play with meat and vegetables and don't care much about men and women. The more the sword cultivator and the demon cultivator looked at him, the happier they felt. They felt that the beauty was so pure, so he hurriedly persuaded: "Don't worry, speak slowly, brother is waiting for you."
"Okay, no rush," Song Qingshi took a deep breath to calm his mood and asked with a straight face, "Do you know who I am?"
The sword cultivator smiled and wanted to touch his hand: "I don't know, dare I ask for this beauty's name?"
Song Qingshi grabbed his restless wrist and said loudly, "Medicine King Valley, Song Qingshi."
The sword cultivator's expression froze.
Song Qingshi's palms gradually tightened, and he said seriously, "I'm the idiot you just mentioned whose house was on fire."
The sword cultivator's wrist was crushed.
The demon cultivator realized something was wrong and turned around to run away.
Song Qingshi shot out several poison needles. and all kinds of strange rashes appeared on the two of them. The two men's bodies sprouted all kinds of weird rashes, painful and itchy. They sobbed and wanted to peel off the skin of their bodies. They wanted to scream, but an elixir was sent into their mouths, and their throats were hoarse, and they could no longer make a sound.
"Slander the Medicine King Valley, and you will be punished for seven days. Try and argue, and you'll be banned for ten years!"
After Song Qingshi made the verdict coldly, he left the two filthy wretches rolling all over the floor and returned to Yue Wuhuan's side. He felt manly and behaved very well and wanted to ask for praise.
Yue Wuhuan instantly realized those two men's unbearable thoughts toward Song Qingshi. It was intolerable. He lost control and grabbed the hand that Song Qingshi had used to touch the sword cultivator's wrist. He dragged him to the side of a well and scrubbed at it with disinfectant soap. "You do not touch that kind of dirty thing; it's not clean. . ."
Song Qingshi was washed, baffled.
Yue Wuhuan washed his hands for him and finally realized that he had lost his composure. He thought for a while, lifted the soapy rag, and showed a gentle smile: "Later, we're going to eat hand-held mutton from Tian Xiang Lou. Your hands have touched poison and touched people. It's safer to wash them off."
Song Qingshi understood in seconds.
It turned out that he had also infected Yue Wuhuan with the cleanliness fetish of a medical student.

🇮🇪☘️ idea...
The abusive parent does not allow the child to develop their own sense of self, and instead demands the child becomes a reflection of the parent. They pore over their child's every detail, looking for forbidden material, or anything which might lead them astray. "What's this CD I've found in your room? Who's this new person you've been texting? What's this website you visited?" Surveillance mixed with punishments to keep the child in line. And the child may become partially aware they're being abused, when they see their friends have normal parent-child relationships. They may become aware that things aren't exactly normal for them... "My friend can do this, but I never could." It becomes internalized, until the problem (the parent) is removed from the equation, and it becomes, "I can't go out Friday night. It just isn't for me." All the while, they maintain some level of emotional investment in their abuser, who assures it's all in their best interest. And eventually, it becomes a sort of self-doubt the child has. All of the things they are deprived of are great unknowns, forbidden and not to be bothered with. . . No, they really can't go out Friday, they're petrified of doing so.
Arthur is not Connor's parent. Connor is different, and more conflicted, in that he has a millennia of memories of what normal is. However, after 900 years of abuse and genocide, I think anyone would break. Oh, no, Connor can't talk to Ciarán. That's not for him. He wants to. He misses him dearly, but he just can't.
Nor can he understand why Ciarán keeps reaching out. But, what else is there to do? Like when a loved one is stolen by a cult who cuts contact. . . Helping necessitates breaking boundaries, it requires making the loved one uncomfortable to get them out of that bad situation. And it hurts. Because Ciarán would never want to make Connor uncomfortable. But he doesn't know what else to do, other than keep reaching out.

LET GO OF PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT READY. It's not an attitude of arrogance or pride, but of congruence, you'll keep loving them but with another perspective, from another level of understanding, understanding and awareness. It's the hardest thing you'll have to do in your life, and it will also be the most important: stop being attached to those who aren't ready to love you. Stop having difficult conversations with people who don't want to change. Stop showing up for people who are indifferent to your presence. Stop giving your love and energy to people who aren't ready to love you back. I know your instinct is to do everything you can to win the good thanks of everyone you can, but it's also the drive that will steal your time, energy, and sanity. When you start showing up for your life completely and completely, with joy, interest and commitment, not everyone is going to be ready to find you there. That doesn't mean you have to change who you are. It means you have to distance yourself from people who are not ready to love you. If you are excluded, subtly insulted, forgotten, or easily ignored by the people you spend the most time with, you are not doing yourself a favor by continuing to offer them your energy and life. The truth is, you're not for everyone, and everyone isn't for you. That’s what makes it so special when you find the few people with whom you have a genuine friendship, love or relationship: you’ll know how precious it is because you’ve experienced what it isn’t. But the more time you spend trying to force someone to love you when they’re not able, the more time you’ll be depriving yourself of that same connection. He's waiting for you. There are billions of people on this planet, and a lot of them are going to meet you on their level, with the vibration of where they are, connect with where they are going. ... But the longer you stay engulfed in the familiarity of people who use you as a pillow, a back-up option, a therapist and a strategist for their emotional work, the longer you stay out of the community you crave. Maybe if you stop showing up, you'll be less wanted. Maybe they will forget you completely. Maybe if you stop trying, the relationship will cease. Maybe if you stop texting, your phone will stay dark for days and weeks. Maybe if you stop loving someone, the love between you will dissolve. That doesn't mean you ruined a relationship. It means the only thing that sustained a relationship was the energy you and only you put into it. That ain't love. That's attachment. The most precious and important thing you have in your life is your energy. It's not your time that's limited, it's your energy. What you give each day is what will create more and more in your life. What you give your time to is what will define your existence. When you realize this, you'll start to understand why you're so anxious when you spend your time with people who don't bring you, and in jobs or places or cities that don't suit you. You'll start to realize that the most important thing you can do for your life, for yourself and everyone you meet is to protect your energy more fiercely than anything else. Make your life a safe haven where only people who can care, listen and connect are allowed. Your not responsible for saving people. It’s not your responsibility to convince them they want to be saved. It is not your job to show up for people and deliver your life, little by little, moment by moment, because you pity them, because you feel bad, because you "should", because you are obliged, because, at the root of all this, you are afraid that you do not Return the favor. It’s your job to realize that you are the master or mistress of your destiny, and that you’re accepting the love you think you deserve. Decide that you deserve real friendship, true commitment, and complete love with people who are healthy and prosperous. Then wait in the dark, just for a moment.... ... And watch how fast it all starts to change. -Pauline Nguyen

My Ted Lasso Re-watch: S2E2
Lavender
Oh Jamie, going from reality TV, to talk show and looking like a muppet. Also, the bit with Phil and Holly has not aged well with ermmm... Recent discoveries behind the scenes. Not of Ted Lasso, of the talk show This Morning.
Man City doesn't want Jamie. But he still has support of fans, that's good. We do eventually find out why he left Man City.
Beard and Jane are not a good or healthy couple. They should not be together. Beard deserves better but the thinks that's what he deserves.
Nate micromanaging Will. He's just doing his job, and doing it well. Leave the poor guy alone.
Aww, Will has a girlfriend. Good for him.
Roy cares about his new team. Especially Kokoruda and Phoebe. Too bad he wants nothing to do with Richmond.
Keeley knows what she likes in a man and isn't afraid to express it. Go Keeley.
Ted riding the lawn mower, what a dork.
Ted is hurt about Dr Sharon staying for the season because he still doesn't trust her. Even though it's good for the team and later him. She does have a cool bike though.
Ted is confusing. He wants to be included about decisions for the team but wants Higgins to make his own mind up about things. It was Higgins's idea to bring Dr Sharon in and since he is director of football operations (what does that even mean)? He should get a say in what is best for the team. And Dr Sharon is what is best for them.
Nate is still too quick to complain about Will. I will say, personally I find lavender to be kind of horrible to smell.
No one wants Jamie. Because he shows no loyalty to anyone. And clubs and the public have seen that. They don't wasn't to sign him for something if he's just going to jump ship when he gets bored.
Ted bursting though doors is everything to me. I love that manic pixie dream boy. But yeah, don't barge into a therapist's office.
Sudeikis does actually play video games in real life, because they are fun. If something is taking over your life you should change your habits to prevent it from taking up most of your waking hours. This only applies to non-addictive things. You don't want to deprive yourself of enjoyment because that will make you miserable, but just adjust how you view that relationship you have with it. It's why some people struggle with dieting. Because they try to eliminate the things that are 'bad' for them, instead of accepting that they can be part of their diet but not a major part of it.
Ted is very disarming. He wants to know everything he can about a person straight away. But Dr Sharon sees through it.
Keeley mentioning Dubai Air, for the campaign that Sam will be a part of next episode.
Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. I have watched too much Supernatural to have gotten that joke before Ted did. Plant and Page were Sam and Dean's most used aliases. You are off your game here Ted, Dr Sharon really must have you rattled.
'What a fucking arsehole' is back again, because Dr Sharon doesn't eat sugar. I'm going to have to keep track of how many times it's said in the show.
As much as Rebecca might know what her problems are, she still show see a therapist because they would have knowledge and the capabilities to help her move on from her relationship with Rupert. She manages on her own well enough, but there are still things that might need addressing. And Ted, he works out that he needs help eventually. Friends aren't your therapists, they can only do so much to help. If you need help, see a professional, your friends are your support network to help keep you in the right path to getting to a healthier emotional state. You're not burdening people by sharing your problems, but they might not always be able to help you in the way you need, that's where professionals come in. Spoken as someone trying to get that help now.

i have some nazuna thoughts
i feel like nazuna's parents were somewhat there though not absent enough for him to think that something was wrong, that it was impacting him negatively
like even if the parent(s) is/are there, and even if the parent(s) is/are home, it doesn't mean that the kid is receiving anything
i think that there really wasn't anything "out of the normal" for nazuna when he was younger- else he would've noticed and held it against them for being different than other parents (in a bad way)
but he doesn't really consider them at all. he doesn't love them, doesn't hate them, and doesn't really mention them. they're not a part of his life anymore.
i feel like the thing that happened with them was apathy. of course we know that nazuna's dad worked a lot, long hours he woke up early and came back late. (from sweet halloween) but we don't know about nazuna's mom a lot. we know the family went to church, but in my personal christian experience, you need community (friends) else you're there and you're wasting your time (not really getting anything out of it)
it could've been that his mom really was out as much as his dad, but i think she was around more than his dad was. like i said earlier if he was deprived of something that other kids very obviously had, he would've developed a grudge against his parents. but that's not the case. he just feels disconnected to them
besides physical disappearance causing a disconnect it could also be an emotional disconnect. when the kid's young, they listen to people, especially their parents, a lot. maybe they don't behave, depends on the kid, but they take things in.
and then they respond in various ways and more and more as they grow up. but there's a point where they start to realize a futility in trying to communicate back. and that happens when the parent just refuses to acknowledge that they've heard their child.
sometimes it happens intentionally, which is obviously shitty, but sometimes it happens unintentionally, which will still have negative consequences on the kid. this builds a pretty big disconnect in kids perception of the parents.
now if his mom just straight up ignored him, i think he'd notice when other kids got responses from their moms, so i don't think that's the case. rather i think that she listens, and she takes it in, but she has a hard time expressing anything good about him. she worries about him, but she doesn't know how to express anything good out of it. so she tries to lay out his life for him, yk, the expectations.
expectations and nagging are negative ways that parents try to care for their children but it can also negatively impact the kid more than benefit them. they worry, that's why they think about all these things. but then the kid worries too, and instead of thinking about how to grow themselves for them, they think about "growing themselves" to fit the expectations- and sometimes the expectations aren't even the best for them
and the parents become someone who only gives them pressure and no support, and when you chase after them like that for a while, it really becomes tedious and you never know what you want in life. its so easy and tempting to take someone else's hand and run with it, because you don't see the expectations that will come with it
