once, future gods is what i call my "modern greek mythology universe". it is vague at best because the rules that apply to something like astral convergence aren't the same for, say, antigone's modern lament. it's more about the ✨️vibe✨️ and that they all Could exist in the same universe.
here are the wips that fall under this category
astral convergence: my darling. my love. in this modern au artemis and apollo left olympus and became assassins for hire after killing the children of niobe. now a group of mortals and goddesses (but Especially their stepmother hera) wants them to kill zeus, their father and king of the gods. narrated by artemis in first person referral with apollo as "you", the job is muddied by their own complex relationship with each other and towards zeus. this wip has some of my Favourite prose, i really just need to... actually figure out the sequence of events to get from point a to point b. artemis is living through a never-ending existential crisis while she grapples with her divinity, as she is relatively a very new goddess
she's history, & hyacinthus,: in like 2015 i was part of a greek gods rpg where i played the muse of history clio so naturally i became obsessed with her. in this rpg a relationship sprung between her and the bodyguard of zeus, kratos. this has 0 mythological backing but it holds a special place in my heart so now i must write for them because if i don't no one else will. she's history, follows clio's spiral after finding out she's pregnant (in the mythology she's hyacinthus' mother) so she asks kratos to get her out of olympus, all kratos can offer her is one night as he has to be back by zeus' side come morning. hyacinthus, is kind of a continuation, kind of an au where clio moves in with kratos and his sister bia and lives with them in a little rundown apartment.
oh, glory!: my iliad au where the trojans and the achaeans are rival gangs. that's it. that's the plot. i started writing this because when i took greek lit 1 in uni my class came up with this elaborate au where briseis died instead of patroclus and how or if that would change the course of events. now i'm sticking closer to the actual text but ✌️ yeah
the moon like a thin smile: sort of like an au to astral convergence?? because while being aroace is a huge part of artemis' character in astral convergence, moon like a thin smile is me indulging in some orion/artemis because deep down i will always be that 15yo girl* who got way too attached to this pairing despite it barely having any mythological backing. i did a combination of things to make it interesting: the world is recovering from the titanomachy still, which has left everything in a post-apocalyptic state, and the first ever winter (hymn of demeter!) is underway. this will have a sad ending
antigone's modern lament: a post-apocalyptic retelling of antigone by sophocles, my favourite play <3 started out as a hadestown au that sprung in my head while we watched a movie adaption in my greek lit ii course, this was 2019 and i was obsessed with hadestown at the time. so i imagined a version where antigone is "saved" from hanging herself in the cave by persephone answering her lament and inviting her to hadestown (which kills her anyways but... y'know). this short story is none of that! i am doing away with the hadestown angle and just telling it straight with the modern twist
moonburn: a retelling of the death of orion by the hands of artemis due to apollo's trickery, my Favourite version of his death just for the drama. this could potentially count as a prequel to astral convergence, as orion's death is a a huge source of conflict between artemis and apollo in that

I was just sitting at my locker after practice when Ja’Marr came striding up to me.
“Something about a new trainer, I heard.” - Sam
“Oh yeah?” - Joe
“Heard its a female.” - Tee yelled from around the corner
“Why do all of you people eavesdrop?” - Joe shook his head with a laugh.

“Okay, settle down everyone!” - Zac
At once. the entire meeting room went silent at the sound of our head coach's voice.
The franchise owner, Mike Brown, was standing next to him, seemingly about to announce something of his own.
“Mike you can take it from here.” - Zac
The older man gave Zac a nod and stood closer to the middle of the floor.
“Thanks for all of you coming together at such short notice, but I'd like to introduce you to our newest hire. She's an astounding athletic trainer and is here to keep you guys healthy as well as get the injured healthy. y/n, would you please step out?” - Mike
The new athletic trainer, y/n, stepped out, and she was one of the most beautiful girls I'd ever laid eyes on.
“Woah.” - someone mumbled
“Hey guys, I'm super excited to be working with the Bengals this season! I grew up in Cincinnati as a Bengals fan, so this is a full-circle moment for me! I'll be in my office if you have any questions you'd like me to answer.” - you smiled
When everyone left the meeting room, there was a bustle in the locker room, with almost every player talking about y/n’s striking beauty.
Unlike everyone else, though, instead of talking about her, I went to her office to talk to her.
Firmly, I knocked on her office door.
“Come in!” - you
After taking a deep breath, I opened the door.
She sent a warm smile my way, and I sent one back.
“Hi, Mr. Burrow! Do you have a question, or is there anything I can help you with?” - you
“No, actually. I just wanted to welcome you to the organization.” - Joe
“Oh, thank you, Mr. Burrow.” - you smiled
“Just call me Joe.” - Joe smiled
“Will do.” - you grinned
Just as I was about to reply, Nick Cosgray, the director of rehabilitation, opened the door.
His eyes darted to me, then to y/n.
“Oh, sorry. Am I interrupting something?” - Nick
“No, I was just leaving.” - Joe
I stood up and reached to shake y/n’s hand.
“It was nice meeting you.” - Joe
“Vice-versa. I look forward to working with you in the near future.” - you
After nodding, I exited the office.
Ja’Marr was standing in the hallway, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed while shaking his head.
“What?” - Joe
“You just flashed her with your blue eyes and charm, huh?” - Ja’Marr
“Maybe.” - Joe shrugged with a sly grin

I was getting lunch in the cafeteria today, scooting my tray around and picking through all of the healthy options.
One last banana, thank god.
As I reached for it, another hand brushed mine, and I pulled my hand back.
When I looked at the person next to me, my stomach fluttered when I saw it was y/n.
“Oh, shit, sorry. You can have it.” - Joe
“Nah, it's okay. I might have one in my car.” - you
“Ew, car banana in the summer? Absolutely not.” - Joe
She laughed and I couldn't help but grin at the way her nose scrunched up.
“I'm not taking a banana from QB1.” - you
“And I'm not taking a banana from the new girl, either.” - Joe
“How about we split it.” - you
“Great idea.” - Joe winked
y/n grabbed the banana and nodded her head to tell me to follow her.
In the corner of my eye, I could see Sam at our usual table, giving me a confused face as I walked in the opposite direction.
She sat her tray down on the table and unpeeled the banana, y/n broke it in half, and placed one piece on my tray.
“Pleasure doing business with ya.” - you
“You too. Are you gonna sit over here by yourself?” - Joe
“No, I'm going back to my office.” - you
“Oh okay. If you ever want to, you can come sit with me, Sam, and Trey.” - Joe
“Thank you for the offer. Have a good lunch, Joe.” - you
That was the first time she’d ever said my name, and it rolled off of her tongue perfectly.
“You too, y/n.” - Joe
She nodded with a smile and walked away. I watched her till she disappeared around the corner and then walked over to my table.
Sam and Trey were giving me weird looks when I sat down, along with Ja’Marr and Tee at the table beside us.
“What?” - Joe furrowed his brows
“The hell was that?” - Sam
“What are you talking about?” - Joe
“You don't share, especially not your fuckin’ food.” - Ja’Marr
Rolling my eyes, I tried to come up with a feasible excuse.
“We reached for it at the same time, only fair to split it.” - Joe
“Joe, dude, I know she's pretty, but have you heard about her?” - Sam
“Heard what?” - Joe
“She's been a trainer for like five other teams. Before she leaves the team, there's always this article saying she hooked up with a player. After she left the Niners, Nick confirmed that she got with the player she was rumored to get with. She's weird about it too, like explicitly telling the guy he’ll never be more than a one-night stand before getting with him. Usually, she's gone in the morning and has filed her two weeks' notice with the team.” - Sam
“What the fuck? Why do teams keep hiring her then?” - Joe
“She's good at what she does, athletic training-wise. But, really, dude, the woman's wild.” - Sam
“Watch out, boy, she’ll chew you up.” - Ja’Marr
“For real, she's a total maneater.” - Sam

Summery‧˚｡ﾟ･° ｡✎ This is set in the Ocarina of Time timeline, where Ganon swore allegience with Hyrule to invade it. You are Zelda’s older sibling and heir to the throne until she eventually takes it.

If the act of pledging his life to honour Hyrule wasn't enough to make him sick, the sight of you was. Of course it had to be you. Zelda’s older sibling. The crown heir of the kingdom unless your sister decided she wanted it more. You were always a bit quiet. Shadowed behind your younger sibling. All because she held the blood of a god in her. He knew he had to kill Zelda to get what he wanted, but what about you?
The more time he spent in the castle the more he learned he hated the sight of you. Yet he missed you too much when you were gone. It was ridiculous. Pacing around the hallways he knew you typically walked. He started finding more excuses to spend time in the library just so he could be with you. The two of you never interacted. No one said he couldn't talk to you, but the looks from the royal guards and sheika warriors was enough to get him to stay away.
Being close enough to watch you was enough. Nothing fancy was needed. Hyrule would fall and you with it. A shame to have to kill one such as you but he’s done worse.
When you approached him however, things changed. No guards openly followed you. If any were around they stayed hidden. You assured him you came in peace and just wanted to talk. It had to have been a lie. Instead you calmly explained you wanted to ask some questions about him and his people. There are huge gaps in Hyrule’s library for the other kingdoms. Gerudo most of all.
The wars have not been kind to either side and you expressed what looked like genuine sadness and concern. Something he never saw from Zelda. Not when it came to him. You apologized for her previous actions as well. Explaining that your sister was not who she once was. Neither was he.
Ganon just smiled and nodded the whole time. It must be a game, or some sort of trick. Maybe you're planning to double check the information he gives to see if he's true to Hyrule. It scares him a bit. Knowledge is power and suddenly he’s powerless in front of you. There's no way to know if your words are true or not. You could be lying to him.
The idea that he doesn't truly know you and never will scares him. So Ganon takes matters into his own hands. If you won’t say what it is you truly want (even when you do he doesn't believe you) he will find it out. Suddenly he’s paying that much more attention to you. What books you read, the pastries you eat, what shops you visit. Gifts from an anonymous suitor are left on your desk and on your bed. Something tells you it’s him, but you can't prove anything.
You don't stop talking to him either. The two of you meet in the library every so often to talk. Your interest in him and his people is amazing to him. If he didn't know any better he’d say it made you almost likeable. Yet the fact you were the heir to Hyrule made you unreachable. Once that wall was broken however. The plan was settled the moment he thought of it. Once he had Hyrule he’d have you.
Kidnapping you would be too easy. Throughout all of your meetings you always talked about peace. How the past couldn't be erased but the future was still up in the air. For all the talks of peace he knew he would never be able to abide by it. Entertaining the idea wasn't going to hurt until he made his move. He’d break every promise he made just to keep you by his side.
The whole issue was adorable. Cute even. A rabbit was pleading to the wolf to change its nature. To hold its teeth away from its throat. You were too sweet and kind to survive. That’s why you needed him. He wasn't a fan of keeping a rabbit as a pet, but for you? The world. He could keep you as a pet, or maybe if you swore to behave he could sharpen your teeth? Teach you to live as a wolf like him. The ideas running through his head were too much.
You said you would give anything for peace. Even your hand in marriage? Would you give your heart and soul to a monster like him?

This is neither CYN nor an eldritch character
Why it's not CYN:
Look very closely, CYN has long hair down the sides and a much bigger... up swoop? The top part of her hair is much bigger.
I did notice however that they look very similar... I will return to this.
Why it's not an eldritch character:
Once again, look closely, J's visor is turned off and she didn't have a lower jaw, most of her body is comprised of "AS bits" (claws, cameras, snake body)
Misc: No other character has been seen with the double X expression, not even CYN. This character has been conveniently ignored by GLITCH, go back to the "It came from Copper-9!" video, they never cut to this character, you know who they DO cut to? Eldritch J, also known as the AS, also known as CYN.
Let me paint a picture for this character: A drone cursed with the AS stricken with the same visions of the future that Nori had but instead of fearing them... they welcomed the visions, thinking that they where... holy, and at the center of those "holy visions" was CYN.
Our savior, our messiah, sent by our one true god, a savior whom our friend would mimic... to the best of their abillity for their god...

3- worship & a misc enironment sketch
Warmups for today. I may finish up kiss drawing but who knows, time? motivation? We will see. Been practicing enviros so I can get better at it. Perspective has always been my weak point so I will keep practicing.
Something I missed from Tumblr after being on Twitter for a long time is that I when i wanted to write a little background on my illustrations or concepts, character limit and the unsightliness of a bigass thread kept me from it. And also a general shyness about my writing, but here it's easy to just write and not care if people care to read or not because of the read more cut. I want to be more comfortable sharing my ideas and not being embarrassed because it sounds dumb or whatever. :') And also my ideas morph and change all the time so it's nice to like... just have a record of what I've thought of rather than keep them in my little noggin.
Worship for the kiss challenge was a fun thing to portray. Sarsenbi isn't a god, but deeply devoted to his Goddess, the goddess of fate and divinity. He is her oracle, who once heeded her every word. He might have relied too much on her, but now struggles between the duties that his village expects of him to and what he wants. Mallow on the other hand does not believe in gods or fate, he's serious, stern and had always been set on the path to lead his clan. Since meeting Sarsenbi, he does't know anymore. The future is unclear, but they cherish all the small moments that they can manage, finding comfort in just being themselves, and not an oracle of the goddess or the next to lead his people.

Evay QA Bulk Post 1
I’m working through my inbox but don’t want to drown y’all’s feed in my asks so I’m grouping as many together as I can. Q&A below:
MISC SONIC ASKS
Thank you so very much! I was trying to really combine both Amy and Sonic’s aesthetics. Amy is classy and design oriented so I wanted to keep that feel, but I wanted to show how their home would evolve once she and Sonic start living together. Sonic’s never canonically had a house, but he travels so much that I headcanon that he’s constantly collecting trinkets and souvenirs from all the places he’s visited. So I wanted to give them a very “worldly” design style. If you’re familiar with Uncharted 4, I picture Sonic and Amy’s house being very much like Nate and Elena’s beach house.
I love interior design and architecture but I’m not great at drawing it (yet). Once I improve I want to do a full layout of their house for my stories (and the future Shadora Fortress).
I really enjoyed the movies and I’m excited for the third! I hope they give Shadow a voice that’s deep and delicious and doesn’t sound like a sniveling villain. I don’t like it when they cast him with a very generic evil voice, I prefer it when he’s got depth. Honestly I’d be happy if they stuck with Ian Hanlin, he’s perfect to me.
For the record, I absolutely love that game. Some of my favorite memories involve me and my best friend playing it. He ABSOLUTELY is an avid gun collector. I love seeing the memes of Shadow just rambling off about gun details. BUT HE KEEPS THAT CRAP LOCKED UP IN A SAFE AND UNLOADED AT ALL TIMES!!!!
At least for my stories he isn’t one to actually threaten to harm anybody for wanting to date his kids. He dealt with that enough trying to be with Aurora. But you can bet he won’t think anybody’s worthy to date his kids lol
First of all, I am ALWAYS down for Sonic singing his feelings. Like that is my #1 favorite thing in every story. Whenever he breaks out the guitar/lute I’m like “HELL YEAH LET’S DO THIS”
Secondly, that SONG omg!!! I’d never heard it before but wow 😭 I couldn’t love it more. I completely agree and thank you so much for sharing with me!
That is so funny that you say that. It was not my intention to make human Sonic look like RCS but honestly he is my favorite Sonic at this point so maybe it came out subliminally! Also I think Roger is just so damn handsome so I will take that as a compliment lol!
SHIPPING ASKS
I do ship them but I don’t know about them having kids. I don’t really know those characters well enough to write family members for them and I wouldn’t want to do it wrong. Thank you!
I’m fine with any of your ships as long as it’s not with relatives. And as long as you keep my characters “in character” then that’s fine.
Interesting! 🤔 I haven’t heard that pairing before but hey I’m certainly not going to tell you that you can’t ship them together.
I loved Amy the minute I saw her so just from a superficial level I was like “These two are too cute together!” But I really fell in love with them when their story evolved and we got to see their dynamism in the games outside of just a cute little pink sprite in Sonic CD. And Sonic X really sealed the deal haha So many romantic moments between them in that show, God bless.
Sonic and Amy were just making out, not anything more. Orbot and Cubot aren’t accustomed to seeing that so that’s why they reacted that way.
I don’t have any plans on that at the moment. I like that universe and I especially loved how Sonic acted around her in it, but idk if I’ll make a comic about it. But I can never say never!
PERSONAL ASKS
I’m sorry to have worried you, but honestly I was okay while I was away. I went through a lot of major life events and I had lost my drawing mojo and was fighting to get it back. But now it’s back with a vengeance!
I plan on doing both. I know several amazing parents who do a wonderful job raising their kids and still follow their passion.
Thank you so much! I’m self-taught, but I’ve researched a lot of tutorials and references to help me improve over my life. The number one thing people need to study if they want to do comics or animations or anything is ANATOMY! You don’t have to take an anatomy class (I didn’t), but look up references and tutorials to learn how the spine works, how the muscles work, proportions, etc. Even if your characters don’t fall into the typical human form, you still need to understand skeletal structure and muscles.
I’m not an avid listener but I do like some if her songs :)

AURORA ASKS
Thank you! Yes that’s pretty accurate. Their family is all about honesty and telling the truth, but younger Aurora doesn’t like to share all the details with Sonic because he’s so reactive with her and will quickly try to fix whatever the problem is and Aurora wants to learn to fix it herself. Amy is more willing to just listen to Aurora and offer advice if Aurora asks for it. Amy WANTS to beat up whoever is upsetting her daughter but she also knows the importance of learning how to fight for yourself so she wants Aurora to feel empowered to do that.
Thank you! I hope you’re having a great day too! I think Amy is better at TALKING through feelings and Sonic’s better at the overall cheering up way of handling things. So as long as there’s nothing terribly awful bothering Aurora and she’s just feeling a little down, he’ll find ways to make her laugh. Sometimes that means walking in unexpectedly in a costume to shock her or dragging her out of the room to have a musical jam session together.
Sonic’s also known to give people flowers when they’re sad in canon (he does this regularly in the games and in Sonic X), so he’ll bring her bright, colorful flowers to make her smile.
In my AU, Eggman has already kind of peaked by the time of Boom!Baby. He’s softened a lot and isn’t interested so much in world domination as he just wants attention lol. Having Sage and becoming a father further helped me justify that with my AU.
He's also particularly sentimental towards Aurora since he helped deliver her, so he doesn’t really fight the team anymore. He is more like a constant pain in their sides mucking things up.
Sonic team is busy fighting other, newer foes in my AU.
Their biggest challenge is going to be the Time Travel comic that I haven’t completed yet. It’s hardest because not only will lives be put on the line, but it also touches on trust and when to let go. I’m sorry I can’t give you a more detailed answer yet but I don’t want to spoil the plot! And thank you so much!
MISC ASKS RELATED TO MY AU

It’s VERY important to Aurora for her parents to give their blessing, so Shadow will honor that and ask them for it. I already know how and when he’s going to do it, but I can’t spoil it for you yet! 😉
They’ve had three litters. I headcanon that back in the day hedgehogs used to have litters (2 or more kids) all the time but that became less and less common in modern day. But I also headcanon that as the Ultimate Lifeform, Shadow was engineered to be able to… multiply effectively. So even though they’ve only been pregnant 3 times, they keep having triplets or twins.
I do consider the First Kiss comic canon to my AU. But it happened a while before My Gal, maybe like a year or so before. Give them time to stew on that kiss hehehe
They just wanted to make a life change. The stars just happened to align at the same time haha
All the kids’ names are supposed to be based on their personalities or powers. Most Sonic characters are named that way, so I don’t know if it’s canon for Mobian parents to sense what their kid’s powers will be or not. Aurora has dreams that sometimes give her premonitions so she had inklings to what their kids might be like so she and Shadow could brainstorm ideas based on that. Also a lot of their names are outer-space-related or at least outer-space-adjacent and that was because Shadow’s a space man lol So he had influence in that.
Sonic wants all his descendants named Sonic II so he’s no help lol.

There are 3 litters. The first litter has the triplets Piper, Zane and Nova. The second litter was born almost a year and a half later and has the twins Aster and Blitz. The third litter was immediately after and that has the triplets Cinder, Diamond and Boon. All this information is listed in their character reference post.
In the beginning the family mostly just stuck to ordering online and getting home deliveries lol. But if they do have to do a grocery store run it’s a full family event. The kids all ride on Shadow (see this post). Their house has two fridges to accommodate for all the mouths to feed!
Their life certainly isn’t boring anymore 😂 It’s exhausting but they’re happy (also there are 8 kids haha!)

Aurora definitely would have asked him about this, but at least in my stories Sonic became an orphan at a young age and I don’t have him with any siblings.
I’ve had another person ask me who I picture Sonic’s parents as and I do plan on drawing a reference of them, but they’ll be unique to my stories. They won’t be from any other Sonic media.
I don’t draw Aleena, Manic and Sonia because of a couple reasons. I never watched Sonic Underground so I don’t have the allegiance/nostalgia that a lot of people have to that show. Also for my own preference, I don’t like the idea of Sonic being born to royalty. It doesn’t suit him, in my opinion. That doesn’t mean I don’t respect people who have that as a part of their canon and it doesn’t mean I have any bad feelings towards the Underground characters. I just don’t draw them. I grew up on the games and later Sonic X and Sonic Boom so my stories revolve around what I know.
It’s funny that you mention that ship because I only just learned about it from Starrjoy’s P!AU comic. Again I didn’t watch Sonic Underground so I don’t know who Bernadette is, but sure I’m down for Sonic having two moms. Families come in all shapes and sizes, so as long as they’re a loving parent or parents then I support it.
They love all their grandkids and they love spending time with them, but I think in their older age Sonic and Amy go off on more adventures again. They never stopped adventuring, but they settled down a bit while raising Aurora. Now they’re relishing a second wind and they’re frequently going on worldly explorations.
But they always make sure to attend any events the kids are involved with and are always home on Sundays for family dinner. Sunday night is dinner at Grandma and Grandpa’s! <— I have them always having dinner at their house on Sundays even before Aurora and Shadow have kids
To be honest, I never felt like they needed more. I had a comic where they discussed it hypothetically, but they’re content with just having the one kid. (Don’t worry, just because they’re not having kids does NOT mean they aren’t… active 😈 They’re very VERY much so!). I am okay with fan stories where people give Aurora siblings and there’s a fic I’m reading right now that involves Sonic and Amy having a whoopsie baby way late in life and adult Aurora is having to deal with that and I love it lol. But just for my own writing, it’s a single-child household.

WTNV quick rundown - It Devours! - Joyous Congregation&members

Stephanie is a young woman who befriended Darryl when they were both children. She is studying for a degree in theology and wants to become a Church Elder (which she does in the end). She is good at volleyball and enjoys the academic side of her religion. She and Darryl end up dating.
Jamillah is a young woman who never lets go of her power drill and understands a lot about machines despite not being too interested in science. She does the illustrations for the churchs pamphlets.
Martin McCaffry is a church member who used to work for the TSA out at the NV airport. He was unhappy with his job and continuously made drawings of an elongated dark figure with no memory of making them. He tried setting traps, making sacrifices and even using a future predicting machine to try and catch it. Eventually, he met a church member called May who turned him onto the religion and a new (worse paying) job overseeing the summer camp counsellers. This doesn't help him either. He eventually becomes consumed with drawing the figure and spends all his time making them, but has never been happier.
The church urges all of it's members to present a happy face to the world with the intention of spreading joy but outside presentation is valued higher than actual feelings.
A religious gesture in the JC is to make a 'circling motion with an upright fist'. If returned, the participants than make eye contact and hum a single low note for ten seconds.
They believe the Smiling God has always been here even before the Big Bang. It lives beneath the earth but used to live with people except people 'weren't ready' and so it had to go away. The DOW is heaven.
The Smiling God uses exclusively it/it's pronouns and has a wide smile with a vast field of teeth.
Blood-letting is part of worshipping a Smiling God.
It is believed to devour your sins, unwanted desires, regrets and worst memories, things you wish you did and didn't and vice versa.
The Central Church of the JC in NV used to practice out of storefronts in half-empty strip malls but earlier 'this year' a proper church was constructed a few miles off of route 800. It's tall silver steeple is visible from the highway and it looks like a mix of a church and an office building. It has huge old looking doors with ringed knockers in the shape of centipedes. The real door to enter is a more office-building looking one around the side.
The JC believe in the '11 stages of human education' which are: birth, earthly nourishment, divine nourishment, friendship, love, awareness, family, enlightment, community and the Devouring. Depictions of these in the church often include foxes, for reasons not fully understood but a possible theory is just that Kevin (their prophet, who apparently brought them the Book of Devouring from 'heaven'/the DOW and would preach on his show) just really liked foxes.
There are classrooms in the church, full of toys like dolls and candles and cars with human faces painted on them. There's also books like 'Felicia finds an obelisk' and 'Smiley the centipede accidentally swallows the Earth'. There is a board with the question 'What is Divine Pain?' on it. The teacher is called Ms French (or was when Darryl was young).
The congregation religious outfits consist of long shapeless yellow robes and big square hats with mesh that covers the face.
Once a year the church holds a 'Youth Culling' where children can choose to become full members.
Before services, church members fast so their hunger will remind them of the Smiling God's hunger.
The Congregation has missionaries in Venezuela, Mexico and Double Mexico. Darryl teaches them Double Spanish.
Gordon hates and fears books.
The Book of Devouring is bound in centipede skin and has a pattern made of nails with wire strung between them on the cover, which makes the interlocking triangles of the centipedes hunting pattern. It is written on the yellow pages of a legal pad and contains diary-like entries of observations and many drawings of the triangular movement patterns. The invocation to summon a Smiling God involves wearing fox masks, jumping up and down and having a tray of milk and teeth.

TW: CHILD NEGLECT, DEATH IN PREGNANCY
house rogare is a house as ancient as the dragons themselves ; holding ties to the once prosperous valyria. but when the doom struck, a house that owned a bank rivaling ( surpassing ) that of the iron bank seemed to falter and crumble as well ( the dragonlords were gone, and the century of blood that followed was devastating ). they managed to sustain their wealth ( but a portion of what they had once laid claim to ) ; living within the upper crusts of society of lys by surviving on favorable trade deals, but not once did they forget what they had once been.
marrying into the targaryens here and there, house rogare managed to forge connections to westeros ( though these seemed to be lost when robert led his rebellion and seemingly killed the last of the dragons ). so when dragons flew over essos and daeneys stormborn turned her eyes toward westeros once more, an offshoot of house rogare ( a man and his young wife ) were quick to pack up their things in order to follow the mother of dragons. it was there they had their first ( and only ) child ; a girl by the name of valaena rogare ; a birth that assisted in integrating them further into the unburnt queens court ( for what house would be more loyal than someone who was with her long before they set foot onto westeros? ). upon coming of age, their daughter would come to serve as a lady-in-waiting.
lord velaryon, much like his ancestors, was a proud and greedy man and upon seeing the ties the rogares ( a house that had once meant nothing in westeros ) had made to the royal house, arranged a betrothal between himself and the rumored valyrian beauty. it was, perhaps, the furthest thing from a love match, but the rogare's who had traveled west saw it as an opportunity.
as the elder two rogare's returning to lys following the passing of their patriarch, valaena grew pregnant shortly after her marriage, only to pass after birthing a girl. devastated at the loss, the now grandparents refused to return west.
uninterested in his lack of a male heir, lord velaryon passed the girls care off to a wet nurse ( and later a septa ) barely waiting the appropriate time to grieve before marrying once more to yet another illustrious house ( his second wife providing him his much desired heir and spare within several years of marriage ).
growing up, rhaenys knew little of her fathers affection, nor her stepmothers care ; their attentions often focused on their own children, who seemed to be favored in all ways. her upbringing was largely due to driftmarks maester and septa ; the staff that riddled with castle and the smallfolks who spotted the land. they showered her with the love her father refused her and taught the velaryon girl everything she would need to survive in this world ( and yet still, she strived to earn some sort of acknowledgement from the man ).
HEADCANONS.
001. when bad weather rolls in to shroud the island of driftmark, rhaenys took the exploring the entirety of her home in the years of her youth. she learned of every nook and cranny; of rooms long forgotten and collecting dust. she came to claim one as her own, calling it a solar when asked despite the fact that it was so dreadfully far from her own chambers. the room is perch high up within driftmark, with windows overlooking both the sea and the greatness of the island as a whole. the room is often flooded with light. cleaning and rightening the space was a task she undertook herself. when she was not sitting lessons wandering about the island she’s come to call home, that is where she often squirrels herself away.
when the sun shines upon driftmark, and when the woman is capable of shaking her servants and sworn sword alike, she takes to walking the island alone. whether it be visiting the small villages that pepper the shores of her home ( by now, she knows all the names of the small folk ; knows of their families and plights ), or walking the vast shores themselves.
002. her septa taught her lengthily about old valyria per the request of her father ( the man wanting all of his children to know where they came from ). it sparked an obsession with old valyria and she has since collected everything from old texts, jewelry, antiques and clothing that hail from the lands. she has a basin she keeps filled with hot coals ; a spot to nestle a petrified dragons egg, should she ever find one ( in the hopes that while cradled amongst the coals it might crack and prove that she truly is a trueborn velaryon ; like a dragonrider of old ). the room she’s claimed as her solar almost a shrine and she meticulously displayed each and every one of the objects she’s found.
if it were not for the rumors of the toxic air surrounding valyria, rhaenys is certain she would visit herself in search of artifacts, dragon eggs and to explore the once great ruins.
003. despite being the first trueborn velaryon, her father has always treated her as if she is something lesser, leaving the woman feeling the need to prove herself worthy of the velaryon name. she tries to excel in all that she does ( her dancing is flawless, her needlework is admirable, she knows the histories of her house and that of the great houses of westeros, she’s more than proficient in several languages and holds herself well ). she tries to wear the mask of velaryon lady well ; and it is only those closest to her that can see the cracks and imperfections ( the wildness that she often restrains, the laughter that is just edging to loud when she’s truly surprised or joyful, the crumbling of emotion when deeply effected, the roll of eyes when recounting a conversation held earlier in the day with this or that lord or lady ). strangers though? to them, she plays any cracks or apparent faults off. attempts to make them seeming charming.
004. she has only asked her father about her mother a handful of times, but given the half-answers the man provided, rhaenys stopped trying to obtain any further information about the woman until one day a servant made an off handed comment about how similar she looked to her late-mother. it was then she began to ask the staff and driftmarks residents what they knew about the former lady velaryon.
it was also this encouragement that led the woman to taking to frequently writing the portion of her mothers family that had remained in lys. she's taken to corresponding with distant cousins and her grandparents alike. though none of them are aware of exactly how lord velaryon treated his daughter, there have been constant requests that she join them for a time ( a thought she's entertained but never dared follow through with ; wondering if she left if she'd bother to return ).
005. her father cared little of her whereabouts in her youth, leading the woman to travel frequently to dragonstone ( driftmarks' sister island ) and kings landing itself.
006. she has a way of warming & charming even the iciest of hearts. the woman is naturally charismatic and will be welcoming ( be kind ) to anyone… until her chosen family or those she cares for are threatened ( then she’ll likely hiss and spit as a kitten might ; the woman has no capability of bringing physical harm to anyone regardless of circumstance, but her sworn sword and the other guards that shadow her are more than capable of swinging a sword on her behalf ).
007. she carries around two small valyrian daggers, one is always strapped to her right thigh, the other is often hidden within her shoes. she’s been taught how to kill someone if the need requires it, but in truth, she’s easily overpowered physically. she relies on those loyal to her house to physically protect her.
008. given her proficiency in high valyrian, rhaenys will fall into speaking the language without realizing it ( particularly when highly emotional, or when trying to have a private conversation amongst her family members without others catching wind of what they are discussing ). she does often assign random little nicknames towards those she likes ( and occasionally those she dislikes ).
009. her favorite stories to be told upon falling asleep each night as a child were tales of great love. she came to idolize these couples and long for a great romance of her own ( it was only once she grew older that she realized each great love made into a song was only due to the tragedy that seemed to follow ). even so, she’s still under the belief that every person is destined for one great love.
her hopes for romance have been dashed with the passing of the dragon queeen and tensions raising within westeros. she knows peace amongst the great houses is nothing but piece of paper ; easily discarded. it’s the marriages that often accompany them that solidify things. and given her fathers greed, the woman knows her husband will not be one of her choosing, but someone the man picks to further strengthen house velaryon and bring it back to its true glory days.
010. her maternal grandparents returned to lys shortly before the passing of her mother due to the passing of another family member ( and despite knowing they have a granddaughter, have not dared return since ). once she was old enough to understand their absence, her septa took to writing letters on the young velaryon's behalf, bridging the connection to her mothers family. she now corresponds with them regularly on her own ( the elderly couple all but begging she visit them in lys before they leave the world behind ). despite the disregard of her father, there is something keeping her tethered to westeros. for that reason, her grandparents tugged a few strings and sent a handful of guards to watch out for her ( not trusting the lord velaryon ). one of them got along well with the eldest of the velaryon children and since swore their sword to her.
POSSIBLE CONNECTIONS.
her father. the relationship between father and daughter is near inexistent. the man viewed his eldest as a hinderance and burden growing up, but now that she's blossomed into a valyrian beauty, rhaenys is a pawn ; another means to strengthen velaryon ties to great houses and further expand their reach. i imagine rhaenys rarely speaks about against the man aside from the occasional biting remark.
her stepmother. i'm up in the air on this one ; i could picture their relationship rather bitter, seeing as rhaenys might view her as a replacement to her mother, or perhaps the woman is kind to her in little ways on occasion. attempts to act like a mother to her when lord velaryon isn't around but because its only when the man isn't around things are a bit tense.
half siblings. i can see her getting along with maybe one of her siblings but the rest probably aren't great, likely due to the lot mimicking how lord velaryon regards her. they probably carry an air of indifference and mostly ignore one another, but pretend to be a united front in public.
her septa & driftmarks maester. these two sort of were the front runners of raising her. i imagine in secret she refers to them as her mother and father, despite the two telling her countless times not to do so ( they've probably given up trying to correct her at this point ).
staff at driftmark ( cooks, maids, guards, etc ), as well as smallfolk of driftmark. people who watched her grow? who she befriended? whose houses she ate meals in, whose families she asked after? basically people who probably believe in her more than most.
possible betrothal. someone throw a big wrench into her plans with a betrothal. destroy her thoughts of a grand love for something political and strained. she's going to find a way to break it, but just to spice things up and add tension into her life for a bit
lovers. i imagine she’s kept a very, very small number of lovers ( 1 - 2 at most ). i’d particularly like to see someone who made her throw caution to the wind. who encouraged her to shed the ‘perfect lady’ mask to be a bit more reckless. someone she could really picture her life with and maybe they both longing talked about a future they couldn’t have for some reason or another.
sworn sword. probably from a westrosi house ( or perhaps someone from lys ) ; their family had ties to house rogare before her grandparents returned to lys and her mother passed, and her grandparents have since written expressing desires to have a close, trusted ally watch after their granddaughter. this person is well aware that lord velaryon is an utter asshole and has taken their duties very serious.... perhaps they could have been sent as a ward to house velaryon or even to act as a companion to rhaenys and have sort of stepped into the unofficial role of sworn sword as well if you'd prefer they keep a noble title.
hand-maidens/ladies maids. one or two people from houses loyal to house rogare or house velaryon. i imagine they’ve been with rhaenys for at least ten years. maybe they started as companions in her youth. i can see these as being the people ( aside her family ) she’s closest to. they’re her confidants.
friends. given she travels around the crownlands, she’s probably met countless people. she will try to find common ground with anyone and everyone. if they don’t see one another frequently, she’s probably penning letters every few weeks ( or if they’re good friends, occasionally sending along little gifts… or finding an excuse to visit most likely ).

The reason this is number one is because out of all of the relationships this is the one that is strictly platonic
Like yeah romantic relationships aren’t bad but
Out of all the relationships this one is the most demanding and pure
I mean not to spoil but Naomi is literally taken to the Entity’s realm and Denali is taken there simply because her need to find her friend is so strong!!!!
Like she doesn’t care that she’s being killed every single day
She’s just happy that she’s found her friend that went missing
And loves her friend so much that she’s willing to be permakilled to get her back home
2) Sebastian x Reader (When You Fall)
From When You Fall which is a Stardew Valley fanfiction
The least toxic out of the romantic relationships
And by least toxic I don’t think they’re toxic at all
Like even if there’s a little angst (there’s gonna be a little angst btw) they’re a strong couple
Actually makes each other better rather than making each other worse.
They love each other for who they are including all of their flaws and they would be number one if Denali and Naomi didn’t have a relationship that goes above and beyond.
Like what kind of person would help you through your depression?
A person that loves you that’s who.
Like 80 years from now the two will be old and grey and still acting as if they’re in the honeymoon phase
3) Eden x Eleventh Doctor (The Garden of Eden)
From an unpublished Doctor who fanfiction that I am in the process of writing
Here is where we’re getting into the ohhhh this relationship is kinda toxic really
And it’s a shame they’re number THREE on the list lmao what does that say about my writing?
They are constantly arguing (90 percent not in a serious way)
And Eden sort of sees the Doctor as a God due to how they met which puts him on a pedestal
BUT the relationship doesn’t start off romantic which I think is healthy for them
And they are both fiercely protective of one another due to how long she’s spent traveling with him
So while she does see him as a God it isn’t in a very obvious or serious way unless you can see inside of her head as she doesn’t treat him as such at all.
Also a very goofy relationship overall
4) Grace x Seth Clearwater (unnamed fic)
It’s an unwritten and unnamed Twilight Fic that I might post when I’m done with the whole thing lmao
The only reason they’re number four is that I think that him imprinting on her is taking away his choice
Like yes they would probably still end up together regardless of if he had the ability to imprint or not because they’re soulmates
But him having the trait does take away the ability to actually choose
Like it’s literally a one look and that’s it thing. It forces you to live someone platonically or not so he doesn’t have a say in the matter
BUT the two do genuinely love each other so so so much that after their angst is done they’re inseparable
Which again sorta toxic when it’s a codependent relationship but they actually RARELY argue
Seth is actually so sweet that again after the angst is done they might have an argument once every like 5 years.
5)Quinn x Spencer Reid (Baby Blue)
From my Criminal minds fic that is currently posted on ao3 that I am debating on posting here.
Actually they argue so often
If he hadn’t have gotten her pregnant in a one night stand they would have still met and would have a love hate relationship
Like without the baby they would be an enemies to lovers trip but instead he immediately and accidentally got her pregnant so now they’re stuck with each other
Do genuinely love each other and after they finally figure out that they have feelings for each other everything calms down
But with her being pregnant and them not being in a relationship and then the jealousy and miscommunication everything is just toxic
Like could they tell each other that they accidentally fell in love with the other and they wanna try to have a relationship?
Yes.
Will they?
No.
But again after the drama they’re actually a very affectionate couple that manages to keep their passion into their old age
6) Ashanti x Cárter Walsh-Kim (unnamed fic)
From my deleted twilight fic
While he isn’t a main main character he serves to be the Jacob of the plot but they actually dare and he doesn’t force himself on her or fall in love with her future child :)
They’re a healthy college age couple?
Kinda boring but not toxic at all until Emmett enters the mix
They’re stable and comfortable and honestly would be endgame if it wasn’t for Emmett
She loved him and he loved her not much else to say. They’re low because they break up lmao
7) Ashanti x Emmett Cullen (unnamed fic)
From the same deleted fic as above I might rewrite and repost
toxic because they can’t figure out if they wanna be together or not
Like actually they have a really good relationship when they’re not arguing and he’s being a wannabe Edward with his angst
Like when they’re not fighting a great comedic duo
And he’s her biggest supporter and she’s his.
And while I know I just compared him to Edward they don’t have the whole turn me I don’t wanna turn you drama like it’s a very easy discussion and decision
He’s literally just hung up on Rosalie and that’s where the drama comes from
And the arguing kinda makes some of his old human traits reappear
8) Fawn x Johnny Slaughter (Accidental Prey)
A Texas chainsaw massacre fanfiction that isn’t finished
Would be lower because he’s actually a murder and is keeping her hostage????????????
Like he’s forcing her to live with his murderous cannibalistic family
And he kinda abusive
But he’s genuinely in love with her (more like obsessed)
And hes the only reason that she’s alive
I can’t spoil the end but dude LOVES her more than Johnny in my other fanfics loves their partner more than just being possessive and obsessive
9) Bucky Barnes x Reader (Mr.Right)
From a deleted marvel fic that I haven’t finished and probably won’t until I get the urge
These two just absolutely JUMPED into a relationship without thinking about it
And tbh idk if they’ll last or not but they do currently love each other
It’s super middle/high school vibes but they do have a good relationship
He’s an assassin though
And has gotten them almost killed
And has taught them how to murder people
And is actually kinda a fucked up guy AND relationship because they kinda lose their mind.

Is higher than Johnny because he isn’t physically abusive like Johnny is

From an unnamed unfinished unpublished Texas chainsaw massacre fic that will be posted when I’m done with all three chapters
Actually one of the WORST relationships and probably should be last
But the reason why it isn’t is because Corinne is no longer stuck with him
He physically, verbally, and emotionally abused her
Forced her to kill their child because the police were close to catching them and a child would slow them down
Constantly cheated on her with victims after he kidnapped her and forced her to live with him and his family
He doesn’t really love her (he thinks he does) he really just sees her as a possession.
13) Peter Parker x Reader (the Beauty of You)
A marvel fanfic that I deleted that is a You AU so Peter is in the role of Joe lmao
While he isn’t abusive he is VERY manipulative which is mentally abusive
Has murdered people to get to Reader
Has threatened to kill them
They’re lower than Corinne because Reader is stuck with him like until they die
Isolates them from literally everyone and uses his powers to keep them isolated and needing him
Loves them I guess lmao
14) Rasmodius x Reader (the Wizard and I)
From the stardew valley oneshot
Reader is also stuck with him for life
And this relationship is kinda romantic but the reader is being held hostage as some sort of slave
Like dude doesn’t actually love her just wants to keep his place
Like they’re literally his pet and is stuck like this
And unlike the other bad guys he literally has the ability to make them immortal
Like there’s no love at all, Reader is just possessed/enchanted to be okay with this.
Like their choice was no but this is still how they ended up unfortunately

Misc: time to go deep into my Kanrina bag, post K'an getting run through by Andromeda with a spear, we at the boedga references
Living among humans wasn't the future K'an sought for himself. His path, his destiny, glittered gold--filled with glory and conquest. All of Tenochtitlan bowing before him, swearing fealty in his name. After so long of being denied his divine right, K'an proved both his brother and that oracle wrong. Yes, the gods wrote his destiny in the stars. Their light shined his name.
But it was not the one they spoke.
"Boy, quit sulking and get yo ass up!"
K'an groaned as he sat up, scowling at the woman in front of him. Does this woman ever stop yelling her demands at me?
He was a king once; now the once great K'an of Tenochtitlan was reduced to a manservant of a surface woman. How the mighty had truly fallen.
"What is it you want, woman? I was deep in thought." K'an crossed his arms.
"First of all, my name ain't 'woman'. It's Marina," Marina snapped back at him. "Second, you can be in your thoughts and feelings when you pay taxes."
"A king doesn't pay taxes. He is the wealthiest of all men." K'an snorted.
"You call yourself a king when you sleep on a couch." Marina adjusted her designer sunglasses. The annual luncheon was in a few hours and like hell she'd miss it. Plus it was another opportunity to show up her rivals once again. "It's giving bum."
The comment wounded him. Much more than being stabbed by the Yucatec Amazon did.
"Bum? Bum?! I am K'an of Tenochtitlan-"
"-go get my red bag."
"What?"
"Mookie, go get my red bag."
"What is this 'mookie'?" The way this woman talked made no sense. She spoke in strange tongues he'd yet to learn.
Marina balled her fist. "It's bout to be you if you don't get my red bag!"

jadis (+misc) thoughts
so there's a bunch of stuff i liked about. all that and a little bit that i didn't that's just been sticking with the comic since i started it
i did really really like how like... nuanced jadis was presented as. like all of the demiurges have a thing of "this person was made into what they are by their circumstances, they wanted on the winning team and not the losing one" (except for mammon LOL but he kinda had the same thing just in the reverse order) which i have continued to really like. but especially for jadis where like she's a victim ("" etc ymmv) of circumstance but also did have the agency to make one single choice, which was to immediately bite off more than she could chew and then be shocked into submission for all of it. i know abaddon had a whole thing about people trying to read into it as much as they could to make jadis a liar and how much she isn't that and like i don't think she is but i also don't think she's supposed to be this objective thing. like the specific word he used there was "reasonable". also re:that a little tom for the love of god can you turn off comments on your website they annoy me personally and also you it seems like
anyway so jadis got overwhelmed by knowing everything at once, we saw that happen to allison. like once that happens to you it's really hard to think about anything else. i think she just feels trapped by the whole thing, like she could (shulk voice) change the future by doing something else instead of what she's been predicted to do but the difference would be so small in The Scheme Of Things as to be meaningless. and yk like she does kinda do that, she spends weeks trying to get allison to just eat some food, which my next point: the three and a half years allison spent with jadis are presented as necessary recuperation instead of a waste of time. i really like that. like obviously she would've just died on the moon of rayuba if jadis hadn't offered her help but even beyond that the first panel after the six (billion. lol) month timeskip is her sitting outside, in clothes, not emaciated, eating and reading books. like that's really cool! she can do that again! and then the like zaid thing. which. man. first of all im just glad zaid and allison like actually were able to talk second of all he seems like a cool and nice dude. anyway like. zaid is obviously the reason allison leaves but like it's also just. jadis never had that. jadis can't have that. the only people that jadis is connected to are people who worship her for living in a hospital/being frozen in ice so like no help there like jadis is actually just fucking stuck there. forever. unless The Gang decides and is able to break her out. which i can dream both because i think it'd be cute and because it would be an actual cool writing move but like this will not be a thing that happens
anyway because of that i thought the thing where jadis introduced herself as the prescient one with the story about allison sitting next to that kid at lunch because she was the only one who wasn't weird about her and making her laugh before she died and then the. jadis saying goodbye to allison and thanking her for her presence as she says she's stupid for trying and she isn't coming with her. man can we get jadis a hug. for the love of god. like she's trying to help where she can and she's had way too much shit and she gave allison something physical to remember cio by even though shes being weird about it and. cries 10 million forever
also the way prosthetics were treated on the like 3 most recent pages felt really tasteless for reasons i don't feel like explaining but for reasons i think are probably pretty understandable. i really don't like the sff thing of prosthetics being treated as manifestations of like spiritual sickness (when they arent like symbolically evil etc etc) and like. for the arc that made me want to actually pick this back up because abaddon was talking about how trope-break-y it was etc etc like that's just really lame. letdown of the century, please be ableist in new and interesting ways next time. that said the "even if i'm in hell, nobody gets to tell me i can't enjoy myself" page is so fucking good. simply love to see it. cant wait for the page after that to be allison giving jadis a huge hug and bringing her with her and zaid
also, white chain alive! but we knew that already like she JUST got her human body. yes abaddon jokes a lot about doing character designs that he renders unusable by killing them on the next page but like cmon. we knew this. they didn't show a body
i'm going to bed now so the last thing i'll say rn is i'm still really fucking annoyed about allison only ever. i don't wanna say "feeling the bare minimum of emotion as required by the plot" because she feels very strongly about a lot of things but like you get what i mean. like a lot of the k6bd characters i get the sense of like, this is an interesting character. i want to know more about them and would be invested and entertained by a story different from the main one that focuses on them. like i don't get that with allison like she's being really depressed because the author wanted to write about depression now. like which is true of every character of course but. you know what like i played about 200 hours of a jrpg that i thought i would like way more than i did and that i tried to like way more that i did and like i'm so so so so so fucking sick of Main Characters who have zero like definable personality other than "i'm here to move the plot forward! i'm here for the audience to have a perspective imposed on them!" and like the evil mode thing doesn't even work there either because the jrpg guy had one of those too and his evil mode was still really dull but also actually a little bit interesting! like please for the love of god i need a character that justifies themself as a main character with something more than "audience perspective" like FUCK

[ Zehan Zhang, cis male, he/him, 30/143 ] we’ve followed [ TIAN ] for awhile now, the [ WITCHER ] has been in Novigrad for [ A WEEK ]. they’re known to be [ APATHETIC ] and [ JUST ]. We find it fascinating that after all these years they [ DON’T WORSHIP ] the gods. They often remind us of [ BLOODSTAINED PETALS; A FOGGY MOUNTAINTOP AT DAWN; AN EMPTY FLASK; WORN COLD STEEL ]. Our thread has already been woven on what their future is looking like, but we’re eager to see the [ HERBALIST ] experience it.
SUMMARY
Largely retired from hunting for coin, Tian has lived his life as a lowly herbalist/beggar for nearly half a century. The contractual obligation to worldly value has impacted his sense of morality immensely and has made him reevaluate his life's work, purpose and sense of self.
Coming from the school of vipers, he's not only slain monsters but kings and peasants alike. Such bloodshed and destruction had once been something he never considered until they'd been betrayed by the very people they'd worked for.
One part survivor's guilt and one part disillusion, Tian has committed his life to vagrancy and making his living by selling herbs he's collected along the way.
Although he avoids conflict as much as possible, it's inevitable when he finds himself unable to resist those who are in trouble and with all the skills he'd painstakingly honed since childhood, it's not difficult to pinpoint exactly what he is once his sword his drawn.
HERBALISM
A unique aspect to the vipers were all the ways they'd learned how to kill. With their contracts varying from man to monster, knowledge of herbs and the poisons they make were key to getting the job done when opportunity was sometimes hard to come by.
Tian is a master at making poisons, potions and antidotes after finding that sometimes, less effort was preferable than slaughtering a whole town. Although, he'd never tout himself an alchemist for the kind of obligation that comes with when he'd much rather pick berbercane fruits by the roadside.
ORIGINS
Tian originates from a small mountainous tribal community of hunter/gatherers, fabled to take after the ghost tribe of ancient folklore. They respected their own tradition of not pledging their faith to any man or god and practiced swordfighting and martial arts in order to become the next generation of breadwinners for the clan. They had been honorable people, undisturbed by Northern/Western politics and warfare. In turn, they'd fostered a naïve child in Tian who never knew any better than what he'd always known: that people were compassionate, just and fair.
Tian had been the star pupil of his generation and was sent to Gorthur Gvaed to become the best hunter he could be. Becoming a Witcher was seen as gaining 'godhood' and ultimate enlightenment when it came to allegiance due to the Vipers' known neutrality and the expectation was for him to become the pride and joy of his community.
However, the strenuous training took a toll on Tian's mentality, moving away from community and towards selfishness and survival. He saw his own greed in coin once he was introduced to a world where money was exchanged for goods and luxury.
His ambition to introduce his clan to the outside world beneath the mountains veered away of the values in which they thrived upon and slowly, his tribe's customs and traditions began to dissipate into the ease of township and feudalism.
MISC.
Tian Lang is his full first name, although he found it to be too identifiable in its naming convention and tends to just use 'Tian'.
As a Witcher, he was often regarded under the moniker 'Venom' due to rumors that he was able to take down his foes with a single nick of his poisoned blade.
Tian masquerades as a hapless, blind and drunken herbal merchant. Always blindfolded to conceal his telltale eyes, his other keen senses tend to make up for the one he's ashamed to let the world see.
Although his hair has turned white due to the toxicity in his blood, his knowledge of herbs allows him to dye it a reasonable colour. He’s also very dirty.
