Life is brimming with lessons that teach you how to live without being naive and a fool.

You were already taught a few lessons by life, as it made you jump through endless hoops burning with malicious flames waiting to scorch your skin at slightest touch.

So you found it fair to hold yourself as intelligent and mature.

Therefore, you trusted your conclusion to ignore whatever happened in the elevator with Im Jaebum.

What was said, what was done; none of it mattered.

An important lesson you’ve learnt is people say and do crazy things when they are riding high a shot of adrenaline.

Jaebum’s near-death experience led him to say things that he would not on a normal day. It was only because he was scared that he did. And everyone wants to die an honest man. You were certain if it were Paul in the elevator instead of you, Jaebum might have confessed something outrageous to him too.

So that was not the reason why you were staring at the two males in front of you as they spoke absolute nonsense to you. You already knew not to take what happened in that tiny metal box seriously. Instead, it was another life lesson you knew that made you stare at them as if they had grown two heads: everything has a price.

“Not everyone gets an opportunity like this, y/n,” Paul spoke, a second away from begging on his knees.

You shook your head in distaste, this was not part of the plan. Actually, there was no plan, but if you had one, this would definitely not be it. This was not how you imagined your lottery internship to turn out.

“Paul, I am flattered the company believes me to be capable of such an important role,” you breathed, trying to keep a polite smile as your eyes bounced between the bald man and the smirking jerk. “However, I do not think I would be suitable for this role. I made it clear in my internship contract that I will not have my studies affected by this opportunity. Unfortunately, being the secretary of the -”

“I’m sorry to stop you, y/n,” Paul cut you off, not apologetic at all. You bit your cheeks to hold back a sneer. “We have thought about this through, and believe it to be the best plan of action to take right now. Mr Im is new to this company and is temporary, and while we have made a public announcement, he is still on trial.

“We could get someone in a fixed-term confidential contract, but that’s too complicated.”

Your brows furrowed as you disagreed with that, but you didn't say anything.

“The remaining time left in your contract and Mr Im’s trial period match up perfectly. You already have secretarially role in the company, so you already know the ups and downs, the tricks and tips, so we really believe this is the best way. And about your studies, the summer break began last week. However, if you believe this to be in violation of your contract, we will compensate.”

“Compensate?” You rose an eyebrow, payment would be better than slaving away for free.

“Pay you, just like any other employee,” Paul smiled happily. Finally seeing some indication of interest from your side. He added, proudly, “with all employee benefits.”

You bit your lip in deep thought.

You mentally weighed the pros and cons.

There were pros, so many pros; a better resume, money, free coffee and healthcare, etc. But the con, the big con stared at you in bold, italics, highlighted in large red fonts: you’d be working for Im Jaebum.

If this was someone else you would have said yes the moment they offered it, even without the benefits. But with Im Jaebum, things got complicated.

You weren’t sure if he could maintain the professional relationship between the two of you. And if you were being completely honest, you didn’t know if you could maintain it too.

Even now, with Paul standing at one end of the table, and Jaebum settled on the long side. Your mind couldn’t help thinking about how short your skirt was, and how easy it would be for Jaebum to bend you over the wooden table, and make you a moaning mess.

It would be quite difficult to maintain professionalism when you’d be spending time alone with him. Or maybe, he would use his position to make you suffer. He might end up not coming to work at all, have you do all his work, and just show up to sign and show his face.

So much could go wrong with working for Im Jaebum.

And you also had to consider the fact that you hadn’t talked to him since the elevator incident.

You haven’t been to Heather’s place, too busy with the piled up assignments all due within the last two weeks. The twenty hours of weekly internship didn’t give you any freed up time either. You didn’t get an opportunity to see Heather, or her boyfriend, Im Jaebum, to have a talk.

“Oh come on, y/n,” Jaebum smiled at you, making your blood boil instantly. This was the first thing he said to you in the past two weeks and somehow managed to be an arrogant shit-eater when he did. Your glare didn’t make his smile falter as he sang, “It’ll be fun.”

No way. You thought. There is no way you would be able to work for that self-centred, cocky, incredibly hot jerk.

“We’ll cover your fees.” Paul stopped you before the no on the tip of your tongue tumbled out. You stared at him in shock, as he looked at you expectedly.

“My university fees?” You asked, shocked.

“Yes, all of it.” He nodded.

That’s a lot.

Your eyes fell on Jaebum who smirked at you as if he had the whole entire world at his feet's disposal, and maybe he truly did. He had something similar to that power if the company was willing to go to such extents to make him stay.

The pros were really starting to outweigh the annoying, irritating con.

“Fine,” you licked your lips, with a sigh. “I’m in.”

Paul almost jumped in his place with excitement, “Thank you, y/n! Thank you so much!”

Paul walked out swiftly muttering something about going to the HR and having a contract formed immediately. Your eyes followed him as he left, remaining on the doors that closed behind him.

You could feel his gaze burning the side of your face, and it truly felt as if you were about to combust.

“What?” You snarked, turning towards him annoyed.

Jaebum just snickered as he swirled side to side, carefree, on his chair, “Why are you always so mad, love?”

You rolled your eyes getting up, “I guess this meeting is over.”

“I didn’t dismiss you, y/n,” Jaebum said, stopping his playful actions.

“You’re not my boss until I sign that piece of paper, so,” you gave him a middle finger with a tight smile before walking out the office.

You could hear his light laughter follow you, but you ignored it.

You stopped in your tracks as you remembered something and entered the room once again. Jaebum looked up at you, surprised, before smiling brightly, “Welcome back.”

You cursed yourself for returning after such an amazing exit, but there were more pressing matters than your pride.

“Have you told Heather about what happened?” You closed the door behind you, making sure no one could hear you.

Jaebum’s eyes danced with amusement, as he shrugged, drawling, “What happened?”

“In the elevator, Jaebum,” you gritted through your teeth as you stepped closer towards him.

Jaebum’s smiled only grew as he frowned with feigned innocence, “I can’t seem to remember, maybe if you could help me remember.”

His lazy gaze fell to your lips before meeting your eyes again. A spark ignited deep inside you, and you told yourself it was anger; it was an annoyance.

You clicked your jaw as you smacked your hands onto the desk, leaning over it. Jaebum watched you, carefully, not intimidated a bit, only amused.

Your eyes narrowed at him, before you smiled sweetly, “You were holding my hand and crying like a child.”

Jaebum hissed, unaffected, as he tsked, “I can’t seem to remember that.”

“Did you tell her or not?” You groaned, your annoyance at peak.

What you would do to this man if you got a chance. He wouldn’t be smiling like that, he’d be begging you for forgiveness, for release.

Jaebum smirked as if he could read your mind, “No, I didn't.”

“Good,” you nodded, gulping as his eyes watched you with unsettling darkness. “Don’t.”

He rose his eyebrow, before nodding, “As you wish, y/n.”

You turned and felt his gaze watch you as you walked out. You felt it lower, watching your hips as it swayed side to side. Your hand gripped the cool handle as your shoulders sagged slightly.

You let out a low sigh, “Thanks.”

You disappeared behind the door before Jaebum could reply.

“Babe!” Heather sang as her long limbs fell over you loosely. You laughed, as you helped her sit straight. She leaned against you again, snuggling her face into your neck as she hugged you, “I love the way you smell, baby!”

You chuckled as you patted her red matted hair soiled with glitter and sweat at the back of the Uber, “Thanks Heather, I like how you smell too.”

“Don’t lie,” you could hear her pout, and it only made you smile. “You always make fun of my feet.”

“But that’s only after the gym or a hike, Heather,” you told her, as you brushed the hair off her face.

Heather was completely wasted tonight.

She was already drunk by the time you walked into the club. Jaebum wasn’t anywhere to be found, and you found her with a group of her “friends” that you didn’t like.

They would always make her drink too much, give her a little white sugar, and let her waste her platinum card on those low lives.

You didn’t like the way the guys would touch her as she slumped back onto the couch unable to see straight. You didn’t like the way the girls sitting around would not help her, instead, encourage her to be worse.

You were mad when you were pulling her away from the crowd and towards the bathroom when you had found Jaebum. He had just got to the club himself but was ready to leave as soon as he saw the state Heather was in.

He sat on the other side of Heather, holding her purse, as Heather held you from the middle seat.

Heather mumbled something in return and you couldn’t understand it.

“By that red letterbox is fine,” you told the Uber driver as he slowed down.

Jaebum got out first, and you helped Heather onto his back before getting out. You turned to the driver, giving him a small smile, “Thank you.”

“No problem, have a good night,” he said, already accepting a new ride.

“You too,” you said, as you closed the door. You turned to Jaebum, with Heather hanging her head over his shoulder. Her long ember curls falling down his chest as he grunted and halted her up.

“Woah, stop,” Heather moaned, heaving.

Jaebum looked at you with terror in his eyes, and you laughed at him, “Come on, let’s get this party animal into bed.”

“Is this where you live?” Jaebum asked as you led him up the small walk to the door.

You snorted and shook your head, “No, this is Heather’s home.”

Jaebum rose his eyebrows, and you continued, as you unlocked the doors,

“Her parents don’t live in this house anymore, so Heather skips between here and the apartment.”

You turned the lights on and took in the home that greeted you.

“They love sure love red, huh?” Jaebum commented, taking in the red couch, red feature wall, and red details spread over the living room and kitchen.

You laughed at that, agreeing with him. The Blacks sure did take pride in their red-haired heritage, and didn’t hide the fact that it was family’s favourite colour, “Mrs Black was going through an interior design phase.”

“Thank god it was just a phase,” Jaebum snickered, making you turn to him with a pointed look as you tried to hide the smile.

“She wasn’t too bad,” you replied and began walking towards Heather’s room.

Jaebum followed behind you, grunting as he adjusted Heather on his back, “No, she was just too red.”

You rolled your eyes as you opened her bedroom door and walked towards the bed. You pulled down the covers and Jaebum gently set her down. You took off her shoes, and earrings carefully.

Jaebum didn’t say anything and just watched you as you walked around the room getting out her nightshirt, and face-cleansing products.

“Why are you looking at me, Jaebum?” You asked, not looking at him. Instead, you pumped out the cleanser on a pad and gently took off the makeup from her face.

“Is there a problem?” Jaebum asked back, making you snort.

You gently turned her face and began the other side, “Yes, it’s making me nervous. I can feel you judging me.”

He was probably thinking what everyone else seemed to think when they saw you and Heather. They never saw the whole you both had for each other, how you would do anything for one another. All they saw was Heather in all her brilliance, beauty and wealth, and you, as her second, her side-kick.

“I’m not judging you,” he replied instantly.

Something about the way he said it made you believe him. You bit your lip, as folded the dirty make-up pads and put them on the side table.

“Then what are you doing?” You took a wet towel, wiping her face. You patted it dry and misted some toner and moisturiser. You turned back and met Jaebum’s eyes that remained on you, “Why are you looking at me?”

“There’s nothing else to look at,” he simply shrugged.

You rolled your eyes and pointed to the wall covered with photos of Heather through the years. Most of them had you in them, celebrating every holiday, and some photos from random days when the sun was shining brightly.

Jaebum stared at the wall as if noticing it for the first time. He got up and slowly walked up towards it. He took in the photos for a while, a small chuckle leaving him sometimes, “How did you two become friends?”

You smiled at the memory, “She saved me.”

You stared at your gorgeous friend, as she got up slightly. She searched around, her eyes disappearing as she smiled spotting you, “Oh, you’re here, y/n. I was going to the store on Wednesday.”

She trailed off, falling back into her pillow dozing off again.

“Her hangover is going to kill her tomorrow,” you turned to Jaebum with a tight smile, as you held up the nightshirt, “I’m going to change her.”

Jaebum instantly turned on his heels and walked out, closing the doors behind him.

You walked out to the smell of coffee and Jaebum sitting at the kitchen counter with two mugs in front of him. You furrowed your eyebrows as you settled on the chair in front of him, “Is this poisoned?”

Jaebum snorted rolling his eyes.

You blew the coffee before sipping it. It was still searing hot, so you placed it down on the counter, and turned towards Jaebum.

You took in his midnight hair pushed back, revealing his forehead. You didn’t know you could find someone’s forehead so sexy, but after seeing his hair down while he was at work, you had to admit it was hot. His piercings that were normally missing during office hours had returned too, a few missing.

You frowned your eyes focusing on his nose and eyebrows, “Why aren’t you wearing all your piercings?”

“It’s a nuisance putting it on and off,” Jaebum shrugged, before pointing to his lips, his tongue coming out to flick the sliver hoop, “Just wore my favourite.”

You held your breath, as the image of the cool metal against your lips, flicked by your tongue, gently tugged by your teeth invaded your mind. Your cheeks heated but you continued like nothing was happening to your body.

“Do you have piercings anywhere else?”

Jaebum smirked, “If you’re into pierced nipples, I can get them done for you.”

You groaned, a ridiculous smile on your face as you shook your head, “Can you ever have a conversation without being a prick?”

“A prick?” he gasped, “that’s a bit harsh. I would say I’m more of a flirt.”

“Oh, so you know? This is a conscious decision. You wake up every day and decide to be the bane of my existence.”

“I do wake up every morning and think of you,” Jaebum smiled at you. He chuckled, seeing you roll your eyes at him.

“You’re ridiculous,” you snorted. Jaebum simply shrugged, smiling.

Something beeped from the kitchen and Jaebum got up. You watched him walk over to the stove and turn it off. He reached for a mug before looking through the drawers for something.

You narrowed your eyes watching him, “What are you looking for?”

“Uh... a strainer?” He turned back to you, scratching the back his head. “I don’t know what it’s called.”

Your heart melted at how adorable he looked standing there, confused and unsure. The smile on his lips was so beautiful as he watched you, waiting for you.

“The second drawer over there,” you pointed, not looking at him as your cheeks tinted rosy again.

Jaebum murmured thanks, before using it to drain the liquid from the pot and into the cup, “It’s a hangover tea. My mum makes it for me every time I get too drunk.”

“You live with your mum?” You asked. Jaebum peered back at you a small smile on his lips.

“Yeah, but I rarely ever get to see her.”

“Why’s that?” You frowned. The way Jaebum talked about her, the lightness in his voice and the softness of his smile, told you how much he adored his mother.

Jaebum shrugged before giving you a cheeky smile, “My house is too big.”

You laughed at that. You were not expecting that at all. You heard Jaebum’s low chuckle as you sobered up.

“What about you?” He asked as placed the cup onto a tray with a glass of water and two tablets he found next to the refrigerator. “Do you live alone?”

“Yup,” you nodded, before frowning, “Not even a pet.”

“No pets?” He asked, sympathetic.

You nodded, “I’m scared of animals. It doesn’t matter what size, or how well-trained, or what the animal is. I am terrified of them all the same.”

Jaebum gasped as if you had confessed to a murder, “What is wrong with you?”

“Wow, I thought this was a safe place,” you mumbled before taking a sip from your coffee that had cooled down. You hummed at the taste, he made good coffee.

“What about your parents?” Jaebum asked, making you stiffen. “Where do they live?”

You remained quiet.

You opened your mouth to tell him what you always told anyone who asks. It wasn’t that you were embarrassed or thought it was something to hide. You didn’t want people in your business and telling them to mind their business when they asked only piked up their interest more.

So you opened your mouth to tell him what you’ve been telling everyone for the past five years, “I don’t live with them.”

Normally you would follow up with something about living here was better for your education or future jobs. You would say something, an excuse, that was reason enough for many young people to move out of their parents home. But what you said surprised you, “I don’t talk to them anymore.”

“Oh,” was all Jaebum said. “That’s cool too.”

You peered up at him with a frown. You took in his relaxed gaze, the smile on his face just like it there was a minute ago. There was no sympathy, no pity. There was no spike in interest or anything.

He really didn’t want to pry. He didn't want to know why unless you told him. He only took as much as you could allow him.

Suddenly there was an iridescent pond shimmering in your chest. It swirled, making your whole body feel alive as you took in Im Jaebum. It felt as if your entire body was one cell, one tiny speck of dust caught in the breeze of Im Jaebum, and it didn’t mind.

You gulped, your body and mind acting quicker than you could control, “They couldn’t stand the sight of at me after they found out I was still doing something I promised I wouldn’t do anymore.”

The faces of your parents appeared in front of your eyes. The shock, anger, the disappointment on their face as they found you lying in a pool of your urine and vomit. The horror in their eyes, their desperateness as they shook your body, pleading for you to reply.

“They didn't kick me out. I left,” you ran a hand through your hair, as you let out a heavy sigh. You thought of the letter you wrote them, the way they had cried when they came to the hospital to meet you during those months, “I couldn’t hurt them anymore.”

“Do you think you would ever go meet them again?” You looked up to Jaebum watching you. You were thankful for the lack of pity in his eyes as he kept his gaze on you.

You sighed again, and it came out as a little laugh, “One day I will.”

You nodded, as you met his eyes. He smiled at you softly, and you smiled back as you scrunched your nose to stop the tears from threatening you, “When I am good enough, I will.”

“I hope that day comes soon.”

You didn’t realise Jaebum had come this close to you as you were talking. He leaned against the counter between you, his eyes intently taking you in. He folded his hands on the dark marble, his face leaning half-way over the counter.

You watched him back.

He was so beautiful.

You huffed out a smile as you shook your head at him. Jaebum instantly changed, leaning back, the playfulness in his eyes glinting once again as he rose an eyebrow in question.

“You’re not too bad, you know?” You smiled at him, before adding, “When you’re acting like a normal human being at least.”

Jaebum laughed at that before giving you a mocking smirk, “You’re not too bad yourself, y/n.”

You grinned about to say thank you, when he added, “When you’re not acting like a stick is stuck up your ass at least.”

“What an asshole,” you shook your head, laughing at him.

Jaebum beamed back, his eyes shining, “What a bitch.”

You took in the dark flecks in his eyes. You noticed their velvety blackness absorbing all light around it, but something else existed in those captivating eyes of his eyes. They didn’t get dragged away into the twilight of his gaze.

Instead, it shone brightly. It glistened, it was golden, white and sparkled like a starry night. It dragged you in, it made you want to lean close to him.

It made you want to place your lips on his and see how that shimmering halo swirled as he pulled you in closer. It made you want to reach for him, to place your hand on his soft cheeks. It made you want to walk around the counter and hug him in the middle of the kitchen littered with red embellishments.

Jaebum’s smile curled into an easy smirk as he winked at you before turning around. He picked up the tray with a cup of tea, a glass of water and Panadol, as walked towards the door the red-haired beauty was sleeping in.

Everything had a price.

Somewhere deep within your heart was a corner buried so deeply in the darkness you had forgotten it existed. The room was cold, dark, and there was nothing. Nothing except for a lone candle standing in the middle of the emptiness.

There had been nothing there for an eternity, and it was almost like magic. It almost felt like a trick of the eye, but then it happened again.

A flame, a spark, flickering at the tip of the candle; it sparked again.

This time it caught on. It burned, slowly getting brighter and livelier.

You watched Jaebum disappear behind the door of Heather’s room.

A sharp ache twisted your heart as you saw his broad back enter the dark room she was sleeping in.

The flame spreading over the wick twisted in shades of ember, their shadows dancing over the room.

You saw a word, you saw a face.

You knew the price for this feeling tugging, craving to grow bigger in your heart. You walked into the room, hidden in a deep corner of your heart. The ivory trail of your dress dragged on the dusty floor, turning brown with every step.

You didn’t look at the walls, you didn’t take in the shapes of the flames.

You took sharp, clear steps. You reached the candle, the flame reflecting softly against you. You closed your eyes, took in a deep breath and exhaled, blowing out the candle.

The flame was gone.

The candle extinguished, the room engulfed in darkness, once again.

You looked to the wall, the photo was no longer there but the image there was burnt into your mind.

The price of this feeling was too expensive.

It was too precious, and you couldn’t afford it.

NED STARK

He always worries so much after you, like if you’re unusually late getting home or you don’t call him back for some time. He won’t bother you about it because knows he worries, and he’s always ready to give you a warm hug when you finally get home. He’s very considerate of how you like things in the home and will fix anything immediately - although, you’re convinced he’s going to drop the AC in a lake if it acts up one more time. He has a picture of your wedding day that he absolutely loves and keeps in a safe spot in his wallet. The same picture is in frame on his desk, along with pictures of the kids. It’s the only decorations he has on the desk.

ROBB STARK

He’s convinced Grey Wind is starting to like you more because you’re the one who gives the goodnight treats. His favorite memories are the times when you both were able to get away to the lake or beach for a few days; he has a picture of you both on his desk at work. If you get him something you’d think he’d like, such as a scarf, he’ll absolutely wear it until it falls apart. Before you two moved in together, he really enjoyed calling you in the evening to hear about your day. Before you started dating, he’d send you pics of Grey Wind because you had the cutest reactions to them - soooo many emojis.

SANSA STARK

She loooves trying new things and hobbies with you, even if it doesn’t always end up so hot. The baking fiasco of 2018 shall not be spoken of, the pictures have been erased, it didn’t happen. She likes doing your make-up if you’ll let her, and she loves it when you two clothes shop together, mostly so she can dress you up. Lady is the most spoiled princess in the Stark family; you and Sansa have an instagram for her, she has her own rhinestone collar and custom bowl, it’s a whole thing. Sansa likes to brush her in the evening while she listens to you about your day or you both catch up with your fav TV shows. You two are way too invested in some of them and sometimes you stay up too late angry tweeting about it.

JON SNOW

You two were mutual friends for a while before you started hanging out exclusively more and more and finally someone asked if you were dating... At that point, you basically were. He really likes going hiking in the woods with you and Ghost, and some of his favorite pictures of you are from these trips - obvs they’re his phone background, and he gets shy if someone looks over his shoulder and asks if you’re his girlfriend. You both have gotten Ghost a nice dog bed and couch but he still likes to sleep at the foot of the bed, then promptly wake you both up at 6am for a walk. Jon was nervous but excited to introduce you to his family; he enjoys holidays with them much more because of you. He loves it when you text him cute things about your day or say you miss him.

BENJEN STARK

He caught your attention when you two began casually dating and he absolutely lit up when he talked about his nieces and nephews, and he showed you lots of pictures. It was just so cute. He absolutely loves it when you wear his shirts, especially the morning after - he will pull you back into the bed. He’s a total night owl but is very considerate of being quiet when you’re asleep. If you end up falling asleep after trying to stay up with him, he’ll carefully carry you back to bed. He works evenings too, so when he comes home early in the morning, he’ll cook you breakfast before staggering to bed (obviously he wants a good morning/night kiss as you get up and get ready).

JORY CASSEL

He’s an absolute sweetheart who will adopt all the dogs and fill up the house with them if you don’t stop him. When he’s playing with them or holding them, you like to take sneaky pictures because it’s just so cute and set it as your phone background. He always has the sweetest compliments for you, regardless if you’re dressing up or you just got out of the shower. The easiest way to fluster him is throw your legs over his lap while you’re wearing shorts or a skirt and just casually snuggle up. One day one of your dogs got out and you two were so beside yourself with worry, calling all the shelters and making posters and just stressing out together. The pup showed up a few hours later covered in mud and you both ran to hug her at the same time.

EDD TOLLETT

You’d actually been hanging out with him for a while because of your mutual friends, mostly Jon. You two had such an obvious crush on each other but wouldn’t make a move, so he and Sam did the trick where they invited you both out, then made an excuse and left you two alone. He’s the master of sending a meme in response to a text you sent two hours ago. He won’t admit how much he really likes it when you wear his shirts, either to bed or out on a date. They’re almost exclusively black metal band shirts with really weird art. You both tend to go to a lot of outdoor music festivals; he always wants to hold your hand so he doesn’t lose you in a crowd.

TORMUND GIANTSBANE

His beard and hair are still wild, don’t you worry, and he’s endlessly amused when it tickles you when he kisses you. His clothes are kind of a mess so you always try to straighten them out or iron them, which he really appreciates. Whenever he sees something cool, he has to immediately take a picture and send it to you. Sometimes he’s too excited about something, he just calls you or comes over. He’d totally want to go to nature reserves, zoos and parks for dates; he loves being outdoors and thinks you look best when the sunlight is on you. He’ll take so many pics on these dates but he’s a pretty bad cameraman (he tries!). He’ll go for the tallest rollercoaster at an amusement park and immediately regret it once the drop starts; he’s secretly relieved if you don’t want to go on one.

THEON GREYJOY

Let’s be honest, he’s kind of a fuckboy so you don’t date him too seriously. He’s the one who gets attached first and starts exclusively dating you. He really likes collecting guitars and would be stoked if you’d play or sing along with him. He prefers outdoor dates, but sports bars and music clubs are fun, too. No matter what, he’d be giving lots of PDA and wouldn’t take kindly to guys hitting on you. He always finds the most bizarre food or drink recipes online that he wants to try, usually resulting in your kitchen being a warzone afterward. Yara totally bullies him on his insta, no matter how much he blocks her.

YARA GREYJOY

She’s the definition of the types of girls your parents really didn’t want you to bring home but Here We Are. She has the most badass boots that she wears with an eyeliner with a wing so sharp it could kill a man. She loves pulling you close and being touchy with you in bars and clubs, especially when men are bothering you. Her diet 80% microwave so you have to cook actual food for her and make sure she eats. Family gatherings or phone calls always bother her, so you have to help calm her down afterward, usually with lots of making out. She’d like you to go with her when she gets tattoos so she has someone to chat and laugh with, and she’d subtly suggest you’d look cute with a piercing. She’ll kill the bugs in the relationship as long as you give her a thank you kiss, no matter what you’re in the middle of.

DAENERYS TARGARYEN

She absolutely LOVES Christmastime and wants to decorate the whole house, send a Christmas card with you and her three bearded dragons and wear matching Christmas sweaters (she can be surprisingly stubborn about that). Cuddling on the sofa and watching movies usually ends her falling asleep on you, and if you try to move her she grumbles and hugs you closer. The background for her phone is you looking very worried, holding her three bearded dragons after she posed them on you. She’d much rather wear your hoodies and shirts than her own, sometimes only that if she’s lounging at home with you. She tries to plan a really nice date at least once a month, preferably you two going on a little weekend trip to a musical festival or a beach.

JORAH MORMONT

He texts he loves you at least twice throughout the day. When you go out on dates, he’s always worried if you need a jacket or if you’ve had enough to eat. Heel is digging into your ankle and giving you a blister? This guy has band-aids. When he gets home early, he likes to cook a quick dinner that’ll be ready when you’re home. Watching kdramas with Jorah is great because he gets so baffled and ask you if this is what kids watch nowadays, but then he gets surprisingly emotional over the big confessions and love triangles. Walking through a park or boardwalk at sunset while holding your hand is maximum serotonin for him.

MISSANDEI

Her absolute favorite part of the day is the chat you two have in the evening while you take off make-up, wash your faces and fix your hair before bed. Sometimes you talk about your day, sometimes you listen to music or have a show on. She really doesn’t like phones or laptops in bed because she just wants to cuddle or be intimate. You introduced her to theme parks, and now she absolutely loves them. Missandei will find the biggest coaster and pull you toward it, she also would like you to win her one of those stuffed animals at the shooting games. She’ll put them on a shelf in your room. Sometimes she reads a book that bothers her so much, she has to stop everything, march in the living room and tell you all about it.

GREY WORM

You asked him out by writing your number on his cup at the cafe you worked out. You never got a text or call, but he suddenly showed up a few days later, totally blushing and asking you out. It was kind of adorable. He really likes keeping the apartment tidy and totally loves your baking. You didn’t think he had a sweet tooth, and he's been trying out different recipes to share with you. He can be pretty shy around your friends, so you hang with him solo. He has surprisingly strong opinions on movies, so movie dates always spiral into film theory discussions. He's so baffled by social media but he follows and likes everything you because your posts and pics are cute.

TYWIN LANNISTER

You two met at your company’s expensive party, he interested you right away and you had fun flirting and trading verbal spars. You weren’t sure how he got your number, but he’d end up calling you up for dinners and dates and so on. That ended up turning into trips and long stays at his manor and basically you ended up living there. Tywin enjoys giving you all sorts of expensive gifts and clothes, which he of course doesn’t see as a big deal because you deserve it. Eventually you’d bother him about what you mean to him, and that’s when he’d just outright ask if you’d rather be married. Quite frankly, he doesn’t care about his children’s thoughts on the matter. He really prefers the dates and vacations that are more relaxing, especially when he gets to see you smile at something you haven’t seen.

TYRION LANNISTER

You and Tyrion discuss books like some people discuss politics. Actually, you both tend to have a lot of long discussions, but you both are so opinionated on books. He actually writes quite a bit and dedicates a lot of it to you. His favorite thing to do is make you laugh in public while you’re drinking something; he knows it drives you nuts and it’s adorable how much you sputter and look for a napkin. He blames you for Jamie’s love of ironic emojis, and he likes to send you screenshots of Cersei’s weird facebook rants. When he’s stressing over a writing deadline, he adores it when you give him a massage and help him calm down.

JAMIE LANNISTER

He’d often tease you about using so many cutest emojis in your text messages, so he started ironically using them. You’re positive he just picks them at random but he figured out that eggplant and peach REAL quick. When you first started dating, he tried to impress you with expensive gifts and dates, but he vastly prefers the lowkey cuddles at your apartment. His head in your lap, your pet curled around his legs and him reading off ridiculous shit Cersei posts on facebook … That’s the ideal. He was a nervous wreck when you met Tywin, although he was trying to play it off and be cool.

SANDOR CLEGANE

He’s such a grumpy bear that a lot of people wonder how the heck you two got together. You both like to hang out at music bars and clubs, and he’s always got a protective arm around you, and as the evening winds down he likes to nuzzle your hair and receive any kisses you give. He sleeps in really late and grumbles when you pull him out of bed to get his ass outside. He’ll always take care of the yard work and grills the best barbecue. He actually really likes when you ask him what he thinks about an outfit, even if he just says it’s fine, because he likes the way you twirl and show off your backside. There’s probably a football team he’s obsessed with and he WILL text you angrily about someone getting a red card or missing a goal.

BRONN

When you asked for his number, you were shook that he still had a goddamn flip phone. Even after dating for forever, he still has that damn thing. Your favorite date spot is live music bars, even if he starts to get overly affectionate and pull you in his lap. He has leather jackets and sometimes wears black cowboy boots with them and it just … works? He also probably rides a motorcycle but makes sure you have the proper clothes and helmet and actually obeys traffic laws when you’re riding with him. He’ll still flip off drivers, though. He doesn’t go to the doctor, his sick ass shows up on your doorstep half-dead and you force cold medicine down his throat while scolding him. He just likes being looked after, not that he’ll ever admit it.

PETYR BAELISH

You’re kind of surprised he asked you out, he seemed like a very wealthy, prominent person and you were a little worried. But on all your dates he’s nothing but a gentleman and he wants to go places you enjoy to know you better. Even if you both go somewhere more lowkey like a cafe or an art museum, he just has to impress you by picking you up in a nice car. He’s much more genuine in evenings at your apartment when you cuddle with him, or when you send sweet texts that he has trouble responding to right away because they’re just so nice. He likes to follow your social media just to see what you’re up to, and he has a picture of you on his desk, probably one where you’re wearing something he got you.

STANNIS BARATHEON

He’s on top of anything that needs to be fixed or dealt with around the house, sometimes without you even noticing they were broken. He’s very grateful when you plan dates for fun or for anniversaries, because he has trouble with such things. He also totally melts when you bring him coffee in the morning with a kiss, or take his coat when he comes home. Holidays are an absolute mess; last year he was THIS close to throttling Renly with a string of holly. You like changing his phone background to saucy pictures of yourself, because he already sucks at phones and now he’s bright red and it’s taking him five minutes to figure out how to change it. You were pretty bummed when he finally figured out how to set up a phone lock, so now you just text the pictures while he’s at home. It takes a few seconds before you hear him sputter and drop his phone in the other room.

DAVOS SEAWORTH

Admittedly, Davos is a little insecure about the age difference between you two, but he’s always very comforted when you hold his hand and kiss him in public. He always has interesting places to take you, and somehow he seems to know at least one person there. He always has a new story about how he lost his fingers and now it’s just an inside joke between you two. You think its hilarious how worked up he gets about his sports teams, and he cracks up when you yell at competitive cooking shows. Sometimes he needs your help deciphering Stannis’ weird, cryptic texts. He’s very weak when you’re dressing up to go out, especially when you slip on pantyhose and heels.

MARGAERY TYRELL

You didn’t realize how big of an influencer she was until she innocently asked for a selfie of the two of you. You were on a beach date and you kissed her cheek while she made a cute pose. Much later she showed you the pic on her instagram and holy shit is that’s 20k likes what in the seven hells. If it’s a sunny day, she absolutely wants to go out to the beach or an outdoor mall or anything. She likes to show you pics of outfits, ask your opinion, and buy it as a surprise if you really love it. If you both got a pet together, she’d basically treat it like your kid. She loves taking you with her on her family’s expensive vacations, and she can’t stop holding your hand and grinning the whole time.

BRYNDEN TULLY

Brynden is also worried about the age gap between you two, and it often bothers him when people mistake him for your father while you two are out. He loves talking about you to his nieces and nephew. He held off on telling his brother out of spite, because he knew Hoster was going to bug him about proposing. His favorite thing to do with you is go boating on the family’s lake, especially when you’re laughing as you try to keep your hat on. His absolute favorite picture is a selfie you took while you were in his lap, you’re making a silly face while he’s kissing your cheek.

EDMURE TULLY

He loves doing the silliest, most domestic stuff with you. Doing laundry together while joking around, picking out furniture to match in the living room, even adopting a dog or a kitten who would end up spoiled rotten. He’d actually fall for you quickly while you were dating and already think of your wedding and a family, but he wouldn’t want to pressure you at all. He has the worst bedhead and you have to grab him before he runs out to work and try to tame it. You both have the most ridiculous in-jokes and when you watch dramas, you both get way too emotionally invested and try not to cry in front of each other.

BRIENNE OF TARTH

She’s very shy about taking selfies with you until you encourage her and insist she’s adorable. She takes good care of her health and works out a lot, and she’s definitely want you to join her for the latter. She’s great with motivating and praising you! She likes dates where you two just wander around outdoor malls or museums, you just walk and chat about all sorts of things. You’re absolutely her phone background and lock screen, and when her dad calls to check on her she ends up talking about you a lot. You both like to put on cooking shows while you fold laundry or clean and you end up getting so distracted.

RAMSAY BOLTON

You weren’t totally keen on introducing him to your parents, then they suddenly came over while he was hanging out with you and he was such a Perfect Gentleman™ you almost got whiplash. He’s the reason stray dogs always hang around your backyard and porch, he leaves food out for them. He always frowns when you cover up his hickeys with concealer. He’s not the least bit phased by horror or slasher movies, but puts them on TV anyway so you can cling to him and hide your face. He’s absolutely the sort to threaten any male friends he thinks are too close to you, then play innocent when you confront him. He likes date spots that are a little more secluded, so he can grab your body and give you a deep kiss anytime he’s wanting you.

ROOSE BOLTON

In the morning, he always has to kiss you when he wakes up and before he leaves for work, no exceptions. He’s very private so those he works with are surprised to learn he’s married, but once you two are together at some company party it’s obvious he dotes on you. His kinks are even more pronounced now and he loves buying you things he wants to see you wear. He’d like to have a family with you once you’re ready. He’d be super into you sending him sexy pictures during the day, but he won’t respond right away or pretend the picture didn’t load just to mess with you.

OBERYN MARTELL

He looooves surprising you with thoughtful gifts, weekend trips or even just flowers sent to your work with a loveydovey note that has all your coworkers teasing you. A mutual friend hooked you both up for a blind date, which bothered you a lot, but Beric was so nice, genuine and apologetic that you decided to go through with it anyway. You’re grateful you live in a cold climate because he looooves the fireplace and snuggling with you in front of it. He’s not the best at cooking and would appreciate you teaching him, also you look super cute in an apron so that’s a bonus. Expect a ton of different outdoors and camping trips from him, also he’s the worst about getting injured and insisting he’s fine, even when there’s blood all over the bathroom sink.

I’m a shy introvert and I can’t for the life of me start good conversations in real life with new ppl. And If I try to, it’s very awkward. Lol. I was mostly ignored as a child whenever I tried to express my opinions and that really effected me. My very close friends described me as “kind, brave, and pretty.” Like, every single one of them said the same thing🤣 when I’m out and about with my friends, I seem very friendly and approachable at first but then come off as cold and serious after meeting and first talking because I’m very shy and not assertive at all. I’ve also been told that I seem like I don’t care about anything. when I’m around ppl I’m very comfortable with I’m very loud and silly, dark/dirty humor. I’m always obnoxiously signing (shouting) Disneys Frozen songs at my friends just to annoy the crap out of them. my hobbies? Well... I have a horse and a mini donkey who are my BABIES and rarely no one comes before them. So, I guess horseback riding is my biggest hobby. I’d say my second is learning new languages. Im a huge music lover and love to play funny songs to remind my friends about our inside jokes. I’m very athletic with medium height but I have a thick build. love to play hard at games like tag, capture the flag, hide and seek. Like, I give it my all when I play. Very outdoorsy. Trail rides, hiking, fishing, camping... I’m pretty sure the only “talents” I have are remembering song lyrics and movie quotes. Aaaaaaaand annoying my friends. Tendou loves you because you’re so safe. Like everything about you makes his heart warm and face turn up into a smile. He gets his energy just by being around you, and in return he’ll do anything he can to make you feel just as comfortable and happy as he is.

He came to know you sometime after high school through a mutual friend group. His first thought when he saw you was - wow. She’s so pretty. And poor baby was shy and thought he didn’t deserve to talk to someone as pretty as you, but he decided to give it a shot because of how approachable you seemed. He concluded you weren’t intimidating (meaning it was safe to keep talking to you :D) even though were a bit serious and closed off. Nothing he wasn’t used to! He’s been friends with Ushi for years.

But the process of getting to know you was where his heart slipped and fell in LOVE. His first impressions of your personality were that you were as goofy as him! You had no cares in the world- singing loudly, making crazy funny jokes (he found them crazy funny), and super passionate about your pet (do they count as pets?) horse and donkey. One look at a picture of both, and he decided instantly that the donkey was his favorite. He also saw how brave you were, and learning about your past, he grew to admire you and want to protect you then. He also dealt with some not nice things in childhood and it effected him too, so he wanted nothing more than to make your life better going forward. .

Your relationship is so pure and fun ITS THE BEST. Both of you would be so freakin happy ya know. He has you teach him how to horseback ride, and your relationship is just filled with so many inside jokes. You have a whole shared playlist that’s just every song that pertains to your inside jokes, and you blast and sing it as you guys hang out or drive around. You write out lyric quotes on his wrist, and he’ll do song lyric texting pranks with you. You both do your best to keep each other happy, comfortable, and try and push each other to grow out of your comfort zones. Tendou would teach you to be more assertive, and you would teach Tendou to be more secure in himself. Your friend group knows you guys as the ‘fun couple,’ and you two really do live up to the name.

Denki Kaminari!

There’s nothing on the face of this earth that could convince me that Pro Hero Denki wouldn’t be absolutely obsessed with you. When he first saw how pretty, approachable, and friendly you were while in the middle of a mission, he didn’t hesitate to make some moves on you (Denki I get it you wanna talk to the cute girl but PRIORITIES THERE IS A MISSION IN PROGRESS). And if you responded a bit coldly (unintentionally!) at first, he would just be more intrigued by you.

As he met with you more times, he found himself slowly being sucked into a pit of “I want to spend a LOT more time with her,” which he didn’t know how to deal with at first. He was also caught super off guard when he found out you had a dirty sense of humor, but that absolutely sealed the deal for him that you were the perfect girl.

He watched firsthand how brave you were. Despite his crazy missions, and sometimes you getting dragged into it, you always kept calm and were willing to keep moving forward, without being fazed. He also knew that you weren’t super assertive, and he wanted to help you become more assertive because he knows how strong you really are. Although he is relatively assertive, so he doesn’t mind voicing your concerns on your behalf if you need him to. He has your back always.

In your relationship, y’all are all about living life as much as you can. You manage to get Denki away from the agency every once in a while, and when you do, you two just dip from the city and go on adventures. You go on walks, hikes, and fish on weekend long camping trips where you two just get to bask in each others love. He takes care to make sure you feel appreciated and loved. When you two are unfortunately trapped in the city doing work, you guys find way to embrace the inner child that lives in you both, playing hide and seek or tag at home at night. Loser has to do whatever the winner wants hehe.

hi, im jade! everyones favorite party goddess and trans doggy girl~ but you already know that! if youre reading this, it means youre interested in learning more about my reality, because paradox space is fucking weird like that and you cant really be sure all the time

as far as im aware, everything up to the point where we beat the game happened without deviations from the alpha timeline? so this is what rose has talked about as a ‘terminal timeline’, or ‘post-canon’, or whatever the hell that is supposed to mean

we got to earth-c, and i settled in the troll kingdom because trolls are cool, dave and karkat were in the neighborhood, and the caverns are close by so i can visit rose and kanaya speedily as well! i still do have my old tower out on an island, with my workshop and garden, but i almost never sleep in it, too far away and isolated from everyone...

then one day i found this old active server in the furthest ring keeping tumblr active and i thought, hey, why not have some fun? ;D

as for the others...

my darling sis june egbert! she lives in the consort kingdom, but has been thinking about relocating elsewhere lately! she went through a rough patch right after the game, unsure of what to do and full of all sorts of doubts and questions, but shes doing a lot better nowadays! specially now that terezi is back, shes been a lot more peppy and hanging around with the lalondes particularly!

rose rose rose rose~ happily married to her wife kanaya, duh, but that doesnt make her any less of a flirty cutie! a while back she got really sick for a bit, and weve been keeping an eye on her just in case it happened again, but its been all good ever since! she helps kanaya at the caverns a bunch, which makes her schedule busy busy... and you didnt hear this from me, buuuut words out on the street that she and kanaya may be warming to the idea of having a kid! <3 well see how that goes!

one cool dude~ daves a little bit of a shut-in honestly! and honestly i dont blame him? he must be tired after all the timeline and time travel shenanigans, so he spends a good chunk of his time hanging out in his and karkats house! hes kind of awkward about opening up with feelings and stuff, and ive been trying to nudge him to be more open for a while! but with all the craziness thats been going down lately, and more people coming and going and getting together, hes starting to consider things he hadnt before~ hopefully, some specific someones? ;)

janey! my uh... ecto-mom, technically, although we see each other more like cousins than anything else! she still owns crockercorp, but ever since jasprose has been around, she has been spending a lot more time at home and just hanging out with her friends, which really, sounds a lot healthier than the big business thing she had going on a while back! she enjoys teaching me baking stuff, but doesnt have much patience for my decorating skills ;p

grandpa! and grandson technically, hehe, jakes kind of a weird case, hes a mixture of a shut-in, a celebrity and an adventurer! he can spend up to weeks at a time without leaving his manor, but then hell have full weeks of interviews and hiking, and thats not to say anything of when he and dirk put out another episode or two of their dumb comedy talkshow... hes often busy with stuff, but hes still a good pal and can clear his schedule in seconds if we need him for something!

one sweet nb dude! rox really is... something else, really! fun to tag along at a party, fun to chill at home playing games, fun to talk about more serious stuff and open up with him, he really is just solid as they come! hes been hanging out a lot more with june since she got out of her depressive slump, but sometimes i wonder if junebug finds weird to get flirty with roxy, considering im pretty sure we made out in front of her at some point or two... hehehe

dirk! if daves a bit of a shut-in, hes a shut-in times two, which is weird because youd think someone stuck in post-apocalyptic earth for so long would want to hang out more? not to say he DOESNT, though! hes around jake often enough, and keeps close to jane, roxy and dave specially! we dont see each other too often, but we HAVE been messing around with robots and planning out to upgrade our respective self-bots for funsies!

aradia! we only met briefly in dreams for the longest time, but i knew already that she was a riot! she came with terezis group after she finally found vriska, and seems pretty happy just... kind of... being around and watching shenanigans ensue! i actually dont know where she lives, but she drops by occasionally, because im apparently pretty ‘fun’... cant say i disagree ;)

sollux is blind, and not dead, and WILL kick you in the shins if you keep prying about how exactly he ended up like that, which is fair enough! he spends a good chunk of his time with aradia, and im not sure if theyre dating or not...? but hes been around the other trolls a bunch! specially kanaya, apparently theyre good friends that go way back! i guess they both DO style their hair similarly, with the side spike thingies...

the other half of the dave-kat duo! swooooon~ really though, i cant remember the last time i said “dave” or “karkat” without talking about the other shortly after... buuut theyre just roomies, and hell get awkward and grumpy if you even so slightly IMPLY otherwise, despite the fact everyone knows they fall asleep leaning against each other during friday movie night! roooolling my eyes~ with the rest of the living trolls having arrived, hes been a lot more willing to go outside, which im glad for! its healthy to get some fresh air from time to time, and specially hang out with friends!

oh-la-la, miss maryam-lalonde herself! kanayas the matriarch of the caverns, and quite the busy gal, having taken it upon herself to supervise her entire species reproduction and well-being... in my opinion, she needs a good vacation from time to time, and to be less of a workaholic! >:o ive been helping her occasionally in the caverns, and as of late weve begun trying to mess around with ectobiology for some troll-human crossing experiments with... not good results so far... but hey, rome wasnt built in a day!

terezis back, yes! after spending YEARS out there looking for vriska, she managed to find her and come back, the madwoman! personally im not sure why anyone would go to such lengths for... her... but also, its not my bond, not my place to speak, she obviously really loves her a bunch! with vriska no longer lost in the middle of the furthest ring, shes started to catch up with everything going on with earth-c, and i think shes really going to like being around! specially with how much june and the rest have missed her ;)

troublemaker extraordinaire herself! shes... well, shes vriska, im pretty sure she stole that eyepatch from sollux? so you just know she up to no good already >:/ speaking of her eyepatch, im not sure WHY shes wearing it? whatever kinda wound she got, she doesnt like mentioning it, despite bragging about defeating english at every chance she gets! terezi says they found her popping in and out of consciousness in the furthest ring with some messy wounds, and that shed probably been hovering out there after the fight for years... doesnt seem to have humbled her in the slightest <.<

callieeeee! theyre super sweet and wonderful but also really shy and awkward! they live with roxy but manage to outdo dirk in terms of shut-in-ness... they also totally like roxy but is unsure about approaching those feelings considering the whole species thing and whatever, ive been trying to get them to open up for a while now! weve written fanfic together and drawn grids, so i can definitely tell theres some attraction there, even if theyre afraid of acting upon it just yet <3

jaspie is roses bane, and the one cat that made me get used to their smell enough that i dont bark at them instantly anymore! im pretty sure she crashes at janes often, and is just as outgoing and flirty as i am around earth-c parties and bars, which is saying something honestly! i wont let her dethrone me as the party god, though >:)

and finally davepeta! theyre staying with june for the time being until they can get settled around and see what they want to do here! theyve also dropped by dave and karkats a bunch, which i most certainly dont mind! i definitely appreciate some help in bringing a romantic vibe into those twos lives~ ;o

and thats about it! theres also the nannasprites and tavrosprite and arquius, but they pop by so sporadically and rarely that i dont know what theyre doing a majority of the time... we lost track of gamzee after the session so hopefully hes totally gone, and we havent heard any message from caliborn in years... and with the furthest ring broken and the black hole sealed, leaving a weird white empty space right in the middle of reality, im not sure what our chances of bringing back the other trolls are :( but still, we keep living on happily over here and having our fun slice of life ending together!

id say after everything weve gone through, we deserve a big break, dont we? hehehe <3

You starred at the bracelet as it was safe away in a jar so it wouldn't harm you. You read book by book trying to figure out how to reverse its source. The only thing was to soak it in driftwood blossom but your aunt only had one left. But you felt this was an emergency so you boiled it down anyway and now you were just waiting for it to cool.

Once you woke up you were nervous since the bracelet turned white instead of the dark chestnut color it was originally. You couldn't give it back looking like that so you played around with a few spells turning in a natural brown but it wasn't the color you wanted. Maybe he won't notice.

...

You looked around and saw no sign of Changkyun and you wanted to keep it that way. You wanted to stay your distance as heart breaking it may be but you couldn't get caught up in his family.

But what if he wasn't like them.

You did overhear his family talking about how he wasn't ready so maybe he was new to this whole thing. His family was forcing him into this world and he wanted no part of it.

Your aunt wouldn't approve so maybe it was just safe to stay away until you could. You figured you would have to move away just like before anyway so you shouldn't get close to anyone so what was the point.

"Hey." You jumped from the thought of him right behind you.

"Hey." You smiled but followed by a cough. "Sorry I'm going to be late to class." You quickly ran off trying to avoid him.

And that's how it was for the past week. Your only excuse was that you were sick and missing a few days was your proof.

...

"Why aren't you in school?" Your aunt said as you once again slept passed first period.

"I just don't feel good." You yawned. "Besides what's the point in getting a school education anyway when all we do is move around. I learned more on my own then this dumb school."

"I don't know I like this place so far. It's quiet." She shrugged. "I'd think we try to stick it out as long as possible, at least until you're done with school." She sat in your bed.

"Once again what's the point? It's not like I can have a normal life and go to college and start a family."

"Of course you can dear. I did." She smiled.

"Not since I was born. Because of me you have to hide too." You said with anger in your voice.

"That's your mothers fault unfortunately." She tried to lighten the mood but it had no effect. "Once you have control with your powers, all this running will end. Don't worry."

"How do you know that?"

"Because as of right now, everyone is afraid of you. All you need to do is prove you are not a threat."

"And what if my powers take over and I can't control myself?" You started to feel the emotion overcome you.

"They won't. You're strong and you have a warm heart. There's nothing to worry about." She caressed your cheek before getting up. "You can stay home for the rest of the week and starting tomorrow we will work on your powers." She said. "I better get more drift wood since I'm out. Can't have hunters on our backs."

She left you alone.

How can you control your powers when all you have is anger. You wanted a normal life more then anything and you just hated that you had to live like this. Hide from people you grown to love and can't even be yourself around. It was hard.

"Mandrake? How do I get that?" You were trying to find spells on how to sacrifice your powers but nothing was standing out to you. Mandrake was a rare herb that all witches banned since it could do such horrible magic. It's said you can use it against yourself but it can be very dangerous and no one was survived enough to say if such a spell can work or not.

You were in depth of your reading when you heard a bang against your window and it suddenly opening. You held your hands up ready to attack until you saw our precious boyfriend struggle to get in.

"What are you doing here?"

"I came to see if you were okay since you haven't responded to my text or phone calls. It's impossible to reach you."

"If my aunt finds out, I can get-"

"She's not here." He had a devious smirk. "Her cars gone and I saw that your uncle is passed out on the couch."

"Well I'm really sick so stay back."

"You don't look sick." He walked closer to you.

"It's a stomach virus." You fell upon your bed as he got closer.

"So?" He started to make his way on top of you that your stomach was erupting with butterflies. "I missed you."

You froze. "Did you not miss me?" He said disappointed.

"I do." You bit your lip nervously.

"Then what's wrong? It's my family isn't it? I promise they're cool- well maybe weirder then most but once you get to know them it's.....weirder." He laughed.

You wanted to tell him to leave so you could be saving your own skin but you couldn't. You have fallen in love with him in the short time you knew him and it made you weaker. He smiled at the way your were staring at him causing his cheeks to turn red.

"What do you think of me?"

"Can I use perfection?"

"No." You blushed.

"I think you are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen." He started.

"No."

"I mean it. Also you are very different, which is why I like you."

"Different how?" You asked intrigued.

"Well for our first date we hiked through the woods after midnight is something, well almost.....Other girls want to go to the mall or some fancy dinner but instead we hang out in cemeteries." He smiled "You don't care what people think and I like that. You are just you."

"I feel like I can trust you with anything." He continued sweetly.

"I trust you too." You wanted to tell him the truth but not yet. You wanted to plan things out and make it memorable. You were going to tell him everything and you didn't care if his family were what they were. He was different and you were madly in love with him. Maybe this was your chance to stop the hunt and rejoice.

"I'm going to kiss you now. And I don't care if I get sick." He said and didn't give you a chance to react before bringing his lips towards yours. You didn't take long to respond. You wanted him just as bad.

He guided you up more so you could lay comfortably on your bed as he had you wrap your legs around his waist. Your breath was getting thinner, causing him to kiss farther down your neck. You held your breath trying to stay in control especially from your powers.

His hands start to wander up your loose tee, leaving goosebumps in its place. He sensed your stiffness and looked up at you concerned. "You want me to stop?"

"No, no. I'm fine. I'm just....not used to this." You laughed sweetly. "I've moved around so much I never even spoken to a guy before."

"Remember our first date? We both are sacrificial." He said causing you to blush.

"I'm ready to lose mine if you are?" You bit your lip.

"You sure? We won't be able to help out the witches or-"

"Oh shut it. We will be safe now." You laughed.

"What about your step dad?" He asked.

"You said he was sleeping right? We'll just have to be quiet."

"Okay." You bit your lip as he started kiss down your chest. He had your shirt off in a second and was already working on your bra. You just let him take control as you tried to stabilize yourself from destroying your room.

He quickly moved down father, removing your shorts, along with your underwear. He leaned down kissing up your thigh until he came closer to your most sensitive area. It definitely wasn't like anything you have ever experienced before that you had to clump your first together as they started to heat up from your overwhelming powers. You let out deep breaths trying to contain the audio moans that were trying to escape past your lips. You grabbed the hairs in the back of his head as he continued to please every inch of you.

He suddenly pulled up as he stared at your weakness. "You alright? You're burning up."

"Yes. Please keep going." He smirked at your words and pulled off his jacket. He leaned down once again back where he was until he figured you had a taste and got back up removing his shirt. You followed and sat up already reaching for his jeans, helping him in the process.

You couldn't help but stare as you finally had him undressed. He noticed and couldn't help but blush that he had you pinned to the bed once again ready to take control.

"Just let me know if you want me to stop."

You nodded. You knew the obvious when it came to the first time. Pain.

"I'll go slow." He whispered as he made his way under the blankets with you. He kissed your lips passionate then looked down to guide himself below. You felt chills once you felt his member brush through your folds. You winched in pain as he slowly started to rock against you to try to adjust.

"You okay."

"Yeah." You smiled. He grabbed your hand sweetly.

He slowly started thrusting which caused more pain. The pain was worse then you thought causing you to clench your teeth, but it eventually smooth and you felt the pleasure start to take hold.

"You can go faster." He looked at you surprised.

"You sure?"

"Yeah." You caressed his cheek.

He started quickening his speed against you and that's when you finally felt comfortable. You could tell he was more comfortable as well as he started kissing down your neck.

You couldn't help but moan as he kissed along your collar bone, you couldn't contain yourself anymore.

"I'm not hurting you am I?" Changkyun looked at you to make sure you were okay since your eyes were closed tightly.

"I'm great." You smiled out of breath.

You wrapped your hands around his back as he sped up once again causing the pleasure to stir up into your stomach. You could tell he was close as well since he started moving unsteadily.

"Oww." He winched in pain as your fingers dug into his back.

"Sorry." He kissed your lips with a smile as you felt him slow down and finally release inside the condom, causing you to reach your climax as well. He still thrust against you slowly to work down from his climax.

Once the feeling subside he collapsed on the bed next to you. You felt paralyzed lying there, letting every possible emotion flood through.

He leaned up to look around your room suspiciously. "Were your candles always lit?"

You looked up following his gaze. You mentally slapped your self. You thought you had your powers under control but you guess it was impossible. At least you didn't destroy your house.

You couldn't help but laugh thinking about it. "I guess I knew you were coming."

You cuddled up into his chest, which felt like forever until he started to get up.

"You can stay if you like." You blushed. "My aunt probably won't be back until later." You couldn't help but notice the burn fingertip marks that were now scarred on his back. That's what your magic does when you had no control. Fire. You were lucky that it didn't grow worse.

"I would love to but knowing my family, they'll probably go out on a hunt for me." He rolled his eyes.

You nodded getting up and wrapped your sheet around you. "Oh here." You handed him his bracelet as he was getting ready to leave.

"Oh thanks. My aunt just gave this to me, she'd probably flip out if I lost it." He laughed.

"I hope you don't mind but I might keep this a little longer." You smirked pointing to the jacket.

"Keep it as long as you want." He smiled.

"So how long is your family in town?" You continued to ask.

"Not sure. Kind of just wish they would leave already." He laughed but you can tell he was serious.

"Why what's wrong?" You lied already knowing the answer.

"They're just a little weird. And I'm forced to keep them company." He rolled his eyes once again.

"I'll try to see you later." He smiled as he held up your hand and leaned in to kiss it until he took a glimpse at your burned finger tips. "What happened?" He asked concerned.

"Oh....that." You quickly took your hand away. You almost forgot about the damage his mountain ash bracelet left.

"I was trying to cook breakfast this morning and accidentally touched the burner." You lied. "I'm fine."

"You sure it looks pretty brutal."

"Yeah. I'll just buy some burn ointment or something." You shrugged.

"Or maybe find some natural herbs in your spell book of yours." He teased that you quickly laughed to hide your awkward expression.

"Sure." You nodded.

.....

You couldn't handle it anymore. You cared for Changkyun to much, you needed to be normal. You have to be. If you wanted a normal life and keep Changkyun safe you needed to find away to get rid of your powers. It was dumb and reckless but you had to try.

You went down the dark alley to the supposed 'spell shop' that you aunt got her herbs from.

The shop stood out like a sore thumb compared to the other shops. It was suspiciously creepy. The door had an obnoxious creek as soon as you entered probably alerting the whole neighborhood.

"Hello dear, what can I do for you?" An older women spoke behind the counter.

"Just here to look at some books." You smiled avoiding her stare.

"A spell book?"

"Well this is a book store." You laughed nervously.

"You don't have to hide in here dear. I'm not so different." She said causing you to turn towards her.

"What do you mean?" You played dumb.

"Please girl. I can just feel how powerful you are......I'm guessing you don't know it yourself."

"How can you tell?"

"You wouldn't be here." She stated the obvious. "So....What are you looking for?"

"I was wondering if you have the spell book of Levisa Mandrake?"

She looked surprised from your request. "Why would you need such a book?"

"I want to be normal." You said just getting to the point.

"Ahh I see." You couldn't read her expression. "That's very risky."

"How so? I just want to be able to live through my life without fear or secrets." You sighed.

"Because all the spells in that book are dangerous. They use it against other witches.....not on themselves."

"But doesn't it destroy magic?" You asked growing impatient.

"It has yes, but it can also kill a witch." She began. "Only a few witches have survived such a spell."

"Well I'm pretty much dead anyways with these powers. I need them gone." You raised your voice.

"Alright. This way." She had you follow her far back in the darkest parts of the shop. She pulled out a key to unlock the glass case.

"That's all it takes? A key." You laughed confused.

"Of course not dear. This key is made with mistletoe. It's very powerful."

She rummaged through until she found the fight book. It had a lock and key and she immediately brought it up to the counter.

"Thank you, how much?" You asked ready to get your wallet.

"No money."

"Oh then how do I-" She grabbed your hand placing it over some kind of glass vile and had a blade aiming towards your finger. "Hey What are you doin- aish." You winched in pain as she drew blood filling up the container.

"Your payment is your blood." She put a cork on the top and wrapped it in cloth. "Don't be reckless." She said putting the book in a bag along with some kind of sack.

You left with an uneasy feeling in your gut. You may be some kind of powerful witch but there was still so much you didn't know about. Darker stuff you felt you shouldn't mess with. You felt like you probably should have never stepped foot in that shop but the only positive thing was you had a chance to be normal and that was all that matters.

>>To Changkyun: [6:23 P.M] Hey you home?? I need to see you

You wanted to see Changkyun one last time before you went forward with your spell. If what the lady said was true and there was a possibility that you could die, you need to see him, just case you don't get another chance.

"Shoot the target." Changkyun's brother pointed to the tree with a giant red 'X'.

"Why do I have to do this? Isn't it my choice?"

"Just think of it as self defense training."

"Like I will be carrying a crossbow everywhere." He laughed at his statement.

"Maybe you should."

"Because there is so called witches that will attack me."

"It's not funny man." His brother raised his voice. "This isn't some fairytale."

"We are talking about witches. They aren't real." I.M responded back.

"What about the one in the basement?"

"Just because she had some allergic reaction to some dirt doesn't make her a witch. You guys kid napping some innocent girl is really fucked up and I don't want any part of it."

"When are you gonna grow up? One day this shit will bite you in the ass and I'm not gonna be there to save you." His brother snapped.

"Maybe I'm not the one who needs saving." Changkyun tapped the trigger sending the arrow straight to the bullseye. He dropped the crossbow walking away alone.

Once his brother leaned down to collect he noticed a black shadow starring at him in the distance. He could make it out as some women. He quickly ran to his bag to grab another arrow but once he looked up the figure was gone.

....

Changkyun didn't even want to go home. He walked as long as he needed to clear his head until he ended at his door.

She's not spilling." Changkyun over heard his aunt talking to his dad. "We know she's here. I can just feel it. Should we just kill her?"

"Snoop much." His brother interfered exposing him.

"I.M, where have you been?" His father sighed.

"Just a walk." He shrugged.

"Alright. Go get ready for dinner." His father sent him off but his aunt stopped him.

"No no, he's part of this now, he should listen. And he goes to school he can help us." His aunt spoke almost excited.

"Any newer students at your school, specifically a girl who seems off?" His aunt started. "She would be around your age."

"Not that I know of-" Changkyun started to speak confused.

"Isn't your girlfriend a newer student? She just moved to that old house down the road." His brother smirked.

"Bingo." She smiled crookedly.

"No, what are you saying? That she's a witch?" He said defensive.

"She just moved here?" His aunt spoke.

"Yeah so what? We have new kids all the time."

"Alright aright. Just keep an eye out for her to make sure."

"She's not a witch." He raised his voice.

"Let me ask one question." His aunt started her interrogation. "Have you been wearing the bracelet?"

"Yeah."

"Did she touch it or react to it in any way?"

"No. She even handed it to me."

"Why did she have it?"

"I forgot it at her house."

"I.M you need to wear that bracelet all the time." His father raised his voice.

"I know I'm sorry. I am wearing it. Can I leave now?"

"Fine."

"What are we going to do?" His aunt whispered to his father. "He's obviously fallen in love with the little witch."

"Let's not be accusing quite yet. It doesn't seem she's dangerous."

"What if she is the (Y/L/N) witch. Then he's in more danger then we know."

"How about we invite her over for dinner and see for ourselves." His father spoke.

"That's a good idea. Expose her for what she really is." His aunt smiled. "Can't wait."

"Why aren't you answering me?" You growled into your phone as you stood outside his house.

You paced back and fourth outside his house because you didn't want to walk into the wolf's den. You figured you can just wait until he answers you back.

"Great I probably look like an idiot....or worse a stalker." You whined. "Now I'm talking to myself.

"Can I help you?" You saw a woman standing at his door confused.

"Oh um....Is Changkyun home? By any chance." You sounded embarrassingly nervous.

"Are you his girlfriend?" She asked.

"Oh yeah." You smiled.

"Great. We are just about to have dinner, please join us." She said welcoming.

"Okay." You shrugged.

She led you inside and already started making you a place at dinner. "Changkyun....you have a visitor." His aunt called from the stairs.

As soon as Changkyun ran down the stairs, he made eye contact with you and you expected a smile or at least a look of compassion but it was the opposite.

He looked at you with fear and panic and it worried you. A deep chill down your spine. What was wrong?

“Joan?”

Joan giggled in her daze, lolling her head back and forth across the sand. Except, the sand felt a lot harder than it should be...and it was so cold all of a sudden...and she couldn’t see the glow of the sunlight behind her eyelids.

“Joan!”

Joan’s body jolts awake for the second time that night. She sat up so quickly it sent a miniature gun salute popping and cracking up her spine.

“Joan? Are you okay?”

Cathy is kneeling beside her. She has her hand on her shoulder. Her eyes were deeply worried.

“You kinda- you kinda went weird for a few minutes.” Her sister said. “I thought I lost you.”

“No, I’m- I’m fine, Cath. Promise.“ Joan assured her.

“Nothing new hurts?”

“Nothing new hurts.”

Cathy nodded and stepped back, pulling Joan to her feet.

“What happened?” Cathy asked.

“I-” The words caught in Joan’s throat. The memory of what exactly went down flash through her mind. “I saw my sister again.”

Cathy’s eyes widen.

“Holy shit.” She said. “Okay- okay- explain it to me. Can you do that? Will you be okay to?”

“Yeah, yeah,” Joan nodded. “We were...we were on the beach on some random Saturday. Catalina was there. It was...amazing.”

Cathy got a sympathetic look in her eyes. “Was it good— I don’t even know how to say this without... I just wanna make sure you’re alright.”

So many emotions were whirling through Joan’s mind- sadness, grief, closure, pain, misery, anger, longing. There was too much for her to process and it made her brain feel like it was going to burst apart in her skull.

“It was good to see her again,” She whispered. “It just— it sucks that she’s not- she’s not here, I guess. That’s all.”

Cathy gave her a quick, but tight hug.

“It’ll all be over soon, Joan. Don’t worry.”

Joan nodded.

Now that she somewhat had her bearings collected, she and Cathy began moving again.

They met up with Anne and Kitty at the bottom of the hill leading up to the field. Just a few yards behind them, the Lee Estate gate looms behind them.

“Great! You didn’t, uh, die!” Kitty said.

“Did it work?” Anne asked. “Did you get the key?”

“Yeah, we got it,” Cathy answered. “It’s actually a radio. Apparently it can open mechanical locks or something. Show’em, Joan.”

Joan nodded and took out the new radio. She walked up to the gate, seeing a small mechanical plate with three pieces of a pyramid on it. She began to tune in and, on channel 56, the parts of the pyramid lit up.

The gate swung open.

“Cool!”

“Wow.”

“Neat!”

Those were the chimes from the other three.

“Please have a boat, please have a boat, please have a boat...” Anne muttered as they all passed into the Lee property.

The salty tang of the sea was as sharp there as it was on the beach. Land broke away and became a wooden boardwalk, which creaked loudly with each footstep pressed against the boards. The black ocean churned loudly below the four of them. It sent spirals of anxiety through Joan, but she tried to stamp them down.

“A boat!” Anne cried in relief. “Oh, thank god. The keys are probably inside the house, which is HUGE by the way!”

She was right. The house was big. How some old woman got the money to pay for it was beyond all of them.

After finding that the door was locked, but had a tune in symbol, Joan took out the radio.

She didn’t like how much she was having to use it.

“That is a nifty gizmo.” Anne said as they all herded inside.

Surprisingly, it was quite warm inside the house, which was a relief because the temperature was definitely dropping outside. The four teenager scampered through the foyer and to the living and dining area, where they were hoping to regroup and maybe find someone to eat or drink (none of them had noticed how hungry they were before). However, all they ended up finding was a figure in one of the armchairs.

“There you guys are!”

“Oh my god!” Cathy shrieked. “You scared me!”

“Catalina!” Kitty rushed up to the older girl, nearly knocking her over in a hug. “Jesus! I was so worried about you!”

Catalina blinked and stumbled, slightly stunned by the sudden contact, but then she laughed softly and stroked the top of Kitty’s head. The girl nuzzles her face even closer, tightening the hold.

“I’m okay, Kitty. I promise.” Catalina told her.

“Wait—”Joan said. “How...did you get in? The door was locked. Did you have a radio?”

“No, I didn’t have a radio.” Catalina said, looking at Joan absurdly. “The kitchen window was open. I climbed in.”

“And the fence?”

“I jumped it. I’m not as dainty as you think, Johanne.”

Joan scanned Catalina over. The older girl has always been an amazing liar, but she didn’t seem to be hiding anything...at that moment. She nodded softly.

“Alright, Catalina’s here, great!” Anne said. “Everyone start looking. Find something and hope that it helps.”

They break.

Joan and Cathy went upstairs, finding a string for a pulldown ladder, which Cathy very helpfully called a “cat toy”. They climb up it, finding a musty old attic and a chest in the far back.

“Of course.” Joan sighed, then muttered, “Paranoid old woman...” She walked back down the ladder and made her way to the exit of the house. “Hey, Cath. How are you doing?”

“How are you doing?” Cathy fired back at her.

“As crappy as everyone else.” Joan said. “I feel like I just got run over by a truck. With acid wheels.” She paused. “If that makes sense.”

Cathy laughed. “I got it. I think everyone feels the same. We’ll make shirts when we get home!” She quickened her pace to walk right beside Joan as they stepped off of the front porch. She placed a hand on her sister’s shoulder. “We’ll be okay.”

Joan can only manage a wry, barely-hopeful smile.

They walk down the front path and back down to the boardwalk. On their way to the basement, they stop by the boat docks to check in on Catalina and Kitty, who were having a friendly conversation to pass the time.

“Hey, Kit,” Joan said, walking up to the younger girl first.

Kitty smiled at her. “Hey.”

“How’s it going?”

“As steady as she goes.”

Kitty leaves it at that. Joan moves on to Catalina.

“Catalina.”

“Your Highness.”

Joan’s mind flashes back to the time loop in front of the tunnel, however she can’t muster up even an ounce of anger or rage. When she looks into Catalina’s eyes, so unloving, unlike in her flashback memory, any ember she may have conjured gets instantly smothered and replaced by freezing cold misery.

“For the eight hundredth time— and I don’t know why I have to keep trying to sell you on this, but here it goes— Maria wasn’t my fault.”

Catalina crossed her arms, and Joan prepared for a vicious hurl of flaming words, but she just sighed and looked dejectedly at the murky water. Maybe she’s imagining what it must have been like for Joan on that day.

“If that’s what you believe in, I guess.” She finally said.

There’s a momentary burst of flame, but a rock to the boardwalk from a particularly big ripple puts it out. Catalina looks upset, Joan realizes. She doesn’t know what to say to that, so she just turns and walks to the basement. Cathy trails quietly behind her.

“Find anything useful?” Joan asked, stepping inside the stale-smelling basement. Cathy goes to check out a desk as she speaks with Anne.

“Nothing yet, but the night’s still young.” Anne answered. She’s definitely calmed by degrees since the argument on the tower, but Joan can still see betrayal glinting behind her eyes.

“How are you feeling?” Joan pressed. She wanted Anne to know she still cared about her. “Physically, I mean. Everyone looks like they’ve got the flu.”

They were all pale- too pale for it to be healthy. It as if their blood was slowly being drained from her body as the night progresses, leaving it blanched and cold. The only color that remained on their faces were their eyes, although very dull and void, like scratched gemstones, and the pink flush that dusted their cheeks. There was the shaking, too- the incessant trembling of their limbs, but they all knew it wasn’t from the cold. Not really.

“Why do you care?” Anne snapped. She marches past Joan to inspect a projector. “Seriously,” She whips her head around to look at Joan. “why didn’t you let me go with you to Main Street? Did I do something that bad?”

The hurt in her eyes returns. The pinch against Joan’s aorta does, too.

“I’m sorry, Anne. I’m sorry.” Joan said. “I just thought you needed a breather. I mean, an hour earlier you were literally possessed!”

“That-” Anne processes it. “-it true. That is true. But it was still annoying!”

Joan went to say something else, but Anne turns away to dig through a shelf. She sighed and regrouped with Cathy, who managed to find a padlock code in a desk, so they make the hike all the way back up to the attic and opened up the chest.

Inside were the keys, which made Joan’s heart leap in joy, but also a map of the caves.

“Tune into the signal.” Is what the page said and, as Joan was reading this as she and Cathy made their way back downstairs, a glitchy wave contorted the entire house.

Joan is back in the attic.

“Joan...”

That was Catalina’s voice.

“Oh, Joan...”

She was calling to her.

“Come down here please. We have something we want to show you.”

Joan didn’t want to move, she wanted to huddle up and hide in that attic until dawn, but she feared what would happen to her if she didn’t obey, so, slowly, she crept down the attic ladder.

Out of her peripheral vision, she notices two bodies- Anne in the study and Kitty in the bedroom. Joan rushes to her best friend first.

The spacebun girl is slumped low in a chair, her limbs completely limp and her head sagging.

“Anne, come on, babes! We got a boat to catch!”

Anne does not stir.

Joan goes to Kitty, next. The girl in sprawled in a position on the floor that looked painful. Her muscles were probably straining just to keep her in that form. Like she cousin, her eyes were shut.

“Kitty, let’s go! We gotta motor!”

Kitty does not move.

Joan hurried down the stairs. She found Cathy’s barely in a chair. Her legs were bent on the floor, and the only thing keep her body up was the way she was propped on the seat cushion.

“Come on, Cathy, I— I need you! Don’t blank out on me now!”

Cathy does not wake.

Joan backed up slowly. The thought that all three of them may have been dead hit her like a freight train.

“Ah.”

A voice from behind.

“There you are.”

Joan turned slowly.

There is Catalina, standing in the dining room. She almost looked normal. Aside from the glowing red eyes of course.

“Now, we imagine you’re a bit confused.” She said. “But don’t fret. This will be the final part of your training, Joan.”

“𝔸𝕝𝕝 𝕥𝕣𝕒𝕚𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕚𝕤 𝕤𝕦𝕡𝕖𝕣𝕧𝕚𝕤𝕖𝕕 𝕓𝕪 𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕪 𝕤𝕜𝕚𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕕 𝕚𝕟𝕤𝕥𝕣𝕦𝕔𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕤.” Chimed the radio in Joan’s pocket.

“Training?” Joan echoed. “I-I don’t want to be-“

“You signed up for this, Johanne.” Not-Catalina got her off.

“Ì§. Lêåvê. þð§§ïßlê.”

“So please,” Not-Catalina continued. “I cannot bear your excuses, offspring.” Her voice is flitted and splotched with stinging irritation.

“I’m sorry, okay?” Joan said. “How many times do you want me to say it? I had no idea what would happen!”

Not-Catalina held her hands up in a calming gesture, then set one on Joan’s shoulder. The touch was icy cold.

“You have nothing to apologize for.” She said. “Trust us on that.” Joan doesn’t budge beneath her hand. She goes on: “The test is easy. We-”

Ninety-six figures appear all throughout the house, eyes glowing, bodies flickering in the darkness that holds them. They disappear as quick as they came.

“-will speak of something we see in the house and you will go and find it. See? As simple and good-humored as your mother’s apple pie.”

Joan doesn’t answer. Not-Catalina draws her hand back.

“Let’s start off with something easy.” She said. “I spy with my little eye...radiation.”

Joan jars out of her daze.

Catalina began to count down.

Joan started to search the house frantically. It was difficult having to pass by her friend’s bodies- she nearly tripped over Anne’s strewn-out legs.

Finally, as Not-Catalina hit three, she went with the only thing she could think of.

“Is it- are you talking about the TV?”

“Very good! Well done!” Not-Catalina praised. “Now, next... I spy...a knot.”

The countdown began again.

Joan searches, but she couldn’t find a damn knot anywhere in the house. It didn’t help that it felt like she was upside down again.

“One.”

Joan’s stomach coiled painfully.

“Johanne. What a disappointment you’ve turned out to be.”

A grandfather clock chimes loudly.

Cathy’s body began to shudder.

“No! Don’t do anything to her!”

But They didn’t listen.

In the blink of an eye, Cathy is gone.

“Aw, your new sister.” Not-Catalina cooed in pity.

“Bring her back!!” Joan cried. Tears edge her vision. “Right now!”

“Oh, I’m sorry, dear.” Not-Catalina said. “As they say- what’s done is done. And now, it’s time for the bonus round, Joan. Stay sharp. I spy a memory.”

Joan’s mind flashes.

She staggers away from where Cathy used to be and up the stairs. Not-Catalina is watching her from the study, by Anne’s body, as she hobbles to the bedroom and stairs at a photo on the wall.

“The picture.” She croaks.

“Very good. Very nice.” Not-Catalina purred. She appears beside Joan and pats her head like you would a dog. “That’s a picture of Margaret Lee and her friend, Anna. You see... you and your schoolyard chums are experiencing— well, this has sort of happened before.” She turned her head to photo. “Maggie and Anne tried to...sport with us many years ago. And, well...”

Images flash by Joan’s eyes.

“Only one survived.”

Not-Catalina turned and began walking back down to the living room. She seems to drag Joan along by an unseen force.

“But in the process, we discovered a way to return, so to speak.”

They both stop.

“It just takes a little time.”

“What happened to Anna?” Joan asked softly.

“Let’s just leave it at: the poor girl didn’t know what she was playing with. It doesn’t matter.” Not-Catalina answered. “The waves. It’s the waves, we think. And we will use those waves to absorb into your friends as sunlight blooms into flowers. And we will grow. And we will engulf.”

Joan’s entire body felt as if it were just dunked in arctic waters.

“You— you can’t do that!” She cried. “Think about what you’re doing!”

“We can do that, Joan.” Not-Catalina said. “And what has seemed to your parents as eighty years has been eons to know an existence without life.” Her words seep in before she begins again, “We tried it too quickly with Anna, but now we know to wait...and soak.”

Down down down- Joan is pushed deep into the ice waters. She’s frozen, unable to fight against this.

“We has to keep you here, on the island. It will be a great honor, Joan, really...to carry us through this life.” A wicked smile curls on Not-Catalina’s lips. “And onto the next.”

Joan backed away, but she knew running would do her no good.

“Please, just don’t do this,” She begged. “We’re— we’re not—”

“It’s sad, I know, to lose the facility to feel...” Not-Catalina said. “...to be, but...we have not felt anything for a very long time. And we’ll do whatever is necessary.”

Not-Catalina chuckles at Joan’s horrified expression. She kneels to her height and leaned in close.

“When our vessel dashed on the rocks we had until dawn.” She said. “So do you.”

She pulled back suddenly.

“We would spend our time wisely. And,” She smiled, “we thank you for your good service.”

Joan’s vision blurs and she’s back in the attic. She trudged down the ladder and found three tape players in the place where her friend’s bodies used to be. She sluggishly cranked the handle of the top two, her mind far away, but when she walked downstairs and passed the large mirror, her reflection shifted.

She froze.

“Let Maria go out on her own.” The Other-Joan said.

“Why— why does it even matter? She’s not— she’s not here.” Joan growled, but her reflection shifts again and it’s back to normal.

She sighed and went to the last tape player and cranked the handle.

Everything around her buzzed.

“Ugh...”

Kitty is on the floor in the foyer, with Anne and Cathy strewn out beside her. They all groan.

“I think I’m gonna be sick...” Kitty mumbled.

“Me first.” Anne said.

Joan wanted to leap into all of their arms, wanted to express how happy she was that they were no longer hollow shells of human bodies, but she couldn’t. She felt too dizzy, too nauseated, too scared to do anything besides slowly lower herself into one of the armchairs in the foyer. She propped her elbows up on her knees and held her head, letting everything that was said to her sink in fully.

They were going to die. Or maybe just become vessels for ghosts that will wear their skin like coats, and she isn’t sure what is worse.

“Did—” Cathy’s voice falters for a moment. “Did that just happen? With you and Catalina? That wasn’t a dream, right?”

“I wish it was.” Joan sighed. She raised her head, but found doing so more difficult than she expected- it was like her skull was now made out of the heaviest metal in existence.

“Catalina, she’s...” Kitty looked around. “Those weird nuclear submarine monsters took her to the caves. We have to go get her back!”

“Yeah, of course,” Joan nodded. “But how?”

“Maggie has a bunch of old military tapes in her basement,” Anne nodded. “I know there’s some slides on the tunnels dug all around this island. Maybe they’ll help?”

“Worth a shot.” Cathy said.

The four them walked out of the house and out the basement. The ocean was churning loudly, black waves rolling over one another like they were fighting for power over the sea. The boardwalk rocks treacherously, the boards practically threatening to cave in beneath the teenagers.

They all ducked into the basement and Anne went over to the projector while Joan grabbed a reel. They put it in.

The first slide to pop up was of two young women around their age or maybe in their early twenties reading a journal together. One has long, maybe brown hair (the slide wasn’t colored) and the other was dark-skinned with seemingly black short hair. They both seemed...happy.

“Oh god, if this is a prehistoric scrapbook...” Anne said.

“It’s cute! They’re learning!” Joan said. “But it doesn’t help us. So onto the next...”

The next slide shows the blueprints of a bunker up on the fields and the one after that is a sketch of the weird triangles.

“Woah, Maggie knew about those things?” Kitty said aloud. “That’s so weird...and creepy.”

They continued to search, eventually coming up with a plan: The bunker in the field leads right into the cave. To open it, Cathy and Joan would go into the Catbird Station in the woods and send a signal, then Kitty and Anne will wait for the door to open. Then, they’ll all regroup and the sisters would head inside and hopefully save the day.

It was a stretch, but it was all the got.

Dr. Jones

“God it’s freezing.” Monty whines and you can’t help but roll your eyes at him.

“Yes, thank you. We’re kind of in the tundra so it should be cold. If you were hot that’d be a bigger problem, when you’re hypothermic you feel hot and that, my friend, is why people who freeze to death are often found in less clothing.”

“Great fun fact. What are we doing here?”

“I found the plane. Or I’m like 99% sure that I did.”

“In the tundra?” Monty asks with a shiver and you can’t help but smirk over at him.

“In the tundra. Maybe a hundred more miles or so.”

“How do you plan on getting us there?”

“Dogs.” You tell him, the snow squeaks under your boots as you make your way further out of town to meet your contact.

“I’m sorry, did you just say dogs?”

“Are you honestly surprised?” You ask over your shoulder, “Hi Mike.”

“Doctor, I’ve got two sleds ready for you, is there anything else you need?”

“Supplies for a week?”

“Everything just like you asked. You sure you don’t want another driver out there with you?”

“We’ll be good, six dog teams?” You ask digging in your bag.

“Yea, the distance you’re going six dog is perfect. You’ve got Bear as your lead. He can be a bit more stubborn but you said you’ve driven before.” You nod and he continues, “The other lead dog is Blanche. She’s a bit smaller but listens well and leads like a dream.”

“Wonderful, thanks so much Mike.” You tell him handing him the salsa you’d used as a bartering chip. “My grandma sends a special hello.” You tell him nodding to the extra peppers in the jars.

“She’s a good woman that Marion. Safe travels Doctor!”

“Thanks Mike.” You tug your hat back over your ears and head out to where the dogs are. The sleds are already packed and ready to go and the dogs are excited to start running.

“Where do we sit?” Monty asks as he tugs his face mask back into place.

“We don’t. We stand in the blades in the back.”

“I thought that was for the drivers.”

“We are the drivers! Gee for left, haw for right, woah for stop and hike for go!” You call over the wind. You step onto the back of the sled, kick up the brake then yell, “Bear! Hike! Hike!” The dogs all leap forward and with a loud whoop you’re off. You glance over your shoulder to see Monty scrambling onto his own sled to follow you and you shouldn’t laugh but you can’t help it. Poor Monty.

The first day isn’t horrible you’re stiff and cold but you make it to the camping spot you’d plotted around 8:30 and while Monty might squawk while he works no one is better than Monty. He gets a fire going and a tent up faster than you can get all the dogs off of the leads and back on a line for sleeping.

“Alright, what for dinner?” Monty asks as you dig in the bag for your food and the dogs food.

“Here, we’ve got beans and rice, just needs to be warmed up a little. I’m going to feed the dogs so we can go to bed right after we eat.”

“Sounds good. I’m exhausted.”

“Same.” You agree heading over to feed the dogs before your own food is ready. “Eat up doggies! See you in the morning!” You call heading back to the warmth of the fire where Monty has the beans and rice heated up and waiting for you.

“So do the dogs just sleep out here?”

“Yea, they usually dig a little hole for themselves and sleep in that. Their fur is crazy thick.”

“Cool. So what exactly is the plan here?”

“Well, if my map is correct we should be about halfway. The flight path that he would’ve taken would have brought him north before going south to New York City.”

“So we’re what? Like one day away?”

“Yea, if we push the dogs a little more tomorrow we should get there earlier than we did today. We might have enough time to start actually searching the area.”

“How are we doing that?”

“Metal detectors. They’re on my sled.” You tell him in between bites of dinner.

“Perfect. What-“ Monty is cut off by your satellite phone ringing and you wince at him.

“Sorry,” You pull the phone from the bag at your hip. “Hello?”

“You’re in the Antarctic?” Your dad’s irritated voice fills your ear and you bite your tongue to keep from groaning.

“No, we’re in Canada. Why?” You’re not lying, you are in Canada, just the very very northern most part of Canada.

“Your Grandfather told me you were hunting down the myth of Captain America!”

“Tell Grandpa I say hi and thanks for the dogsled hook up.” You hear your dad angrily repeat this to your Grandpa and grin cheekily over at Monty who rolls his eyes. “Besides dad, Captain America isn’t a myth.”

“You’re just like him! Chasing after anything that sparkles! That lifestyle almost got your Grandmother killed!”

“I’m fine dad. Things are different, and Grandma loved her adventures with Grandpa. I heard that once upon a time you did too.”

“Yes, but then I grew up! Got a real job! A wife! A child! It’s time to stop this nonsense and come home. Live a normal life.”

“Thanks but just because you passed on the Jones legacy doesn’t mean I’m going to. I’ve gotta go dad. It’s late and we’re tired. Love you.” You hang up the phone then and sigh down at it. You’d kind of hoped he wouldn’t find out what you and Monty were up to until it was over.

“He want you to give up this foolish dream and be a normal girl?” Monty asks. He’s heard the speech almost as many times as you have.

“I know he means well but it’s not for me. I like the adventure, the danger, the challenge. Why can’t he understand that?”

“Parents.” Monty says with a shrug and you laugh.

“Alright. We really should get to bed though. We’ve got a big week ahead of us and I want to be out of here early.”

“Alarm set for 0500.” Monty says as you crawl into the tent. He throws some snow on the embers of the fire then follows you into the tent. The only thing you remove is your boots.

“Night Monty.”

“Night Indiana.”

LOCATION → Sammy & Kitty’s apartment, LA.

WARNINGS → None, actually. Bad cooking?

NOTES → Somewhere between Kitty yelling and making fun of girl’s hair extensions, Sammy thinks it’s the perfect time to propose. idk i’m so bad at these summaries.

KITTY

It was Kitty's first day off since moving to L.A, and honestly? She was sort of exhausted. Between TMZ and college work she'd barely had time to sleep let alone spend significant time with her boyfriend. On top of that she was trying so hard to be better for Sammy. To be more thoughtful. To be nicer. Knowing it had only been few weeks since Sammy was sick and in an effort to avoid ordering take out, Kitty had decided to cook. However somewhere between the boiling water spilling out onto the floor, tomatoes exploding in the pan and chicken that was now black, Kitty was somewhat defeated, sitting cross legged on the floor with dude in her lap. It was a lot easier when his neighbors did it for her in New York and Kitty just took the credit. "I suck at this, dude." She murmurs to the pup, patting him softly.

SAMMY

Sammy has been out on an evening hike with a few of his LA friends and was pretty tired when he had gotten home. Home. It was crazy to him that he was now living in LA and with Kitty, the love of his life, he honestly was scared it would all go away and he was just dreaming. When he entered the apartment he could smell a faint smoky smell as if something was burning. Confused he called out for kitty. “Babe?” He asked as he closed the door behind him and then saw the dog bolting from the kitchen, giving him a clue as where Kitty could be. And he was right. He looked down at her with a small laugh, finding her distress just a bit charming. He looked around at the failed attempt at dinner and he pouted “Oh honey...” he said with a small chuckle as he kneeled on the ground in front of her.

KITTY

Kitty's nose wrinkles at Sammy's voice, and though she wants to stand up and pull herself together now he's home, shes just too tired. She looks up at him when he enters the room and chews on her lower lip as she watches him assess her failure. "I tried? I really did. And then things started beeping, timers started going off at random times and I couldn't remember which was which and there were flames and..." she shrugs defeatedly. "Gordon Ramsay makes it look way easier." She comments with a faint smile and pushes her hair away from her eyes. "I can make you cereal or... something? Is that healthy?"

SAMMY

Sammy scoots closer to her, straddling her legs as he leans down and kisses her forehead. “Well, I really do appreciate you trying.” He spoke softly. “You’ve been very helpful and supportive these past couple weeks and I’m very thankful for it... but you know you don’t have to be like super girl, right?” He asked her as he brought a hand up under her chin with a soft caress of his thumb to her cheek. “I’ll love you even if you don’t cook for me.” He smiles at her.

KITTY

"That's good since I think you'll find Quinn has already firmly cemented her role as Super Girl." She answers, not able to stop the smile that pulled at her lips when he touches her cheek. At least he noticed she was trying... it meant she must have been doing something right. "Does that mean we can get take out tonight?" Kitty looks past Sammy and up at the now hecticly messy kitchen. "Like... healthyish take out? I really cant eat oats one more day without going crazy. We can get whatever you want."

SAMMY

Sammy chuckles and kisses her tenderly. “That’s right. That’s her job.” He nodded “Yeah, we can order take out, I’ll take a shower so I stop stinking from the hike and then we can watch the oh so famous Kardashian’s you’ve raved about.” He suggested to her, hoping it sounded okay. He stood from his place on the floor and helped her up as he looked around. “But first I should help you clean up.” He said with a chuckle

KITTY

She nods and takes his hand to get up from the floor, squeezing it gently as a silent thank you. "Nope, go take a shower, babe. I can clean up out here." Kitty reassures him with a half smile, and stands on her toes to softly kiss his cheek. She might not be able to cook, but cleaning she could do without messing up. Besides... he was all sweaty. "The Kardashian's will be waiting for you when you get out. Just don't lie down and fall asleep or anything while you getting changed." She moves to the sink, and turns on the tap. "Unless you feel like you need to sleep of course 'cause you did just go hiking, so that's cool too." She adds with a quieter voice.

SAMMY

Sammy was tired, he spent most of his days feeling a bit tired and looking forward to sleep but being with Kitty after a hectic week felt like the right thing to do. Not only that, he wanted to spend time with his girlfriend, he had hardly seen her all week, she had been so busy. “If I help it’ll go by twice as fast.” He told her as he brought the soiled pans to the sink. He looked down at her with a quirked eyebrow “You’re being weird. What’s going on?” He questioned her as he bumped her so he could get a sponge and start scrubbing the pan in his hand.

KITTY

"It's okay, I can-" She starts to protest but rolls her eyes when he picks up the pans. And he called her stubborn. She lifts an eyebrow at his next words, glancing at him for a brief second before quickly grabbing the sponge from his hands. "Nothing's going on." She shrugs slightly, forcing a much brighter smile to her lips. "Go and have a shower, babe." She instructs him. "I've totally got this. Really. I made the mess, not you."

SAMMY

Sammy doesn’t believe her for a single second. He let her take the sponge and furrowed his brows, standing there for a moment and chewing on his lip before realizing what had changed. “You’re being really nice... like Marley nice. What’s going on.” He asked again, his hands reaching to her waist. “Don’t make me tickle you...”

KITTY

"Maybe I'm just a nice person." She looks at him with a smile, confused about whether he was complaining or not. "But nothing is going on." She says again, noticing his hands coming closer to her and dropping the sponge automatically to take a step back from him. "Sammy... no." Kittys voice gets serious, knowing how ticklish it seemed that every damn part of her body was. She holds out her hands defensively, "Doooont."

SAMMY

Sammy gave her the most knowing look. “Kitty.” He said in all seriousness and then smiled at her. “You haven’t called me an idiot in like a month...” he replied to her and then cornered her against the counter, his hands ready for the attack as he wrapped around her and began to tickle her.

KITTY

"Maybe you haven't been an idiot." Kitty counters, her eyebrows raising at him as she continues to back further away from his hands. "Saaammy dont..." she says in vein, squealing when his arms wrap around her. Her giggling is loud and shes twisting against him to get away. Her body is only able to take it for a short time before she gives in, "fine fine fine." She says breathlessly in between laughing. "You're so annoying!"

SAMMY

Sammy laughs along with the girl, stopping when she gave in. He pulled back and bowed down to her. “Thank you, I pride myself in it.” He smirked and leaned over and kisses her gently. “Now what’s the issue dear?” He asked he wrapped his arms around her neck.

KITTY

"Oh thank God." She says thankfully as she catches her breath, her eyes rolling when he bows in front of her. He was defintely an idiot... but he was sort of her idiot. Kitty leans into his kiss and fidgets with his shirt idly as he pulls away. "You're sweaty." She remarks, her lips twisting. "You really should shower." Mostly shes just looking for a way to delay talking about her feelings at this stage."So im clear, are you complaining that I'm too nice?" Was that even a thing? Kitty sighs quietly and somewhat frustratedly, knowing now they lived together there really wasnt anywhere for her to run to.

SAMMY

“I’ll shower after we talk.” He said with the raise of an eyebrow. He purses his lips and bobbed his head as he thought of the right way to phrase his thoughts. “Not necessarily complaining, cause don’t get me wrong, you being nice... is nice, but it’s also kinda weirding me out. Considering how sassy and sarcastic you normally are and you haven’t made any snarky comments, not even about my pictures with Lana on the the red carpet... I’m actually shocked I didn’t get an earful about that,” he rambled and continued “not that I like want you to be upset with me but, I just... I feel like you’ve been tiptoeing around me cause I’ve been sick.” He finally spit out.

KITTY

"You were expecting me to get upset about those photos?" She snaps back, pushing him away a little. "Was that the point? You cuddle up to your co-star and see how long it takes for me to realize that's what you want?" She shakes her head, scoffing under her breath. "I didnt say anything because I was trying to trust you." Mostly true. She hadn't said anything because she didnt want to fight with him again. "And for the record, I'm not tiptoeing around you because you've been sick. I've been tip toeing around you because I'm delaying the inevitable. We stopped having sex for a while, you got sick and now it's... awkward. It's all just awkward. And I get it, I'm not a nice person, so just leave if it's so weird. Go and be with Lana or whoever you want to be with. You've basically beat the record for how long someone has stayed at this point so congrats, you'll get a prize in the mail. But I'm totally keeping Dude."

Sammy shook his head. “Woah, no, no, no. I didn’t think you’d get upset... I just thought you’d make a snarky comment on her outfit or something.... babe. I don’t want her.” He reassured her. Or at least he tried. He honestly didn’t mean anything when he mentioned the other girl, he half expected Kitty to laugh it off but boy was he wrong? “Have I really not proven myself by now?” He asked a little hurt if he was being honest. “The inevitable? Kitty, why are you so damn adamant that I’m going to break up with you? When everything I’m doing is leading to the exact opposite? I moved in with you, I moved states for you. Fuck, id marry you right now if you were down. Which, I know you’re not ready for, by the way so I won’t ask you.... but the awkwardness between us is only on your side. I don’t feel awkward when I with you. Us not having sex was definitely not because of you and you know that. And you know what? I like who you are. I like everything about you.” Sammy brought his hands to his hair, scratching his head in frustration. “Fuck, even you getting angry at me all the fucking time makes me love you....” he sighed and took a few breaths. “Look. I know I’m more friendly with people than the average person but that doesn’t mean I don’t love you or I’m looking to leave you or cheating on you for that matter. I love people, I love my friends and fuck if I don’t love you the most... I love you so damn much. You need to learn to trust me, Kitty. I’m not the other guys you dated. I’m not ghosting you or leaving you for my next coworker live interest... I know It doesn’t seem like it but I have a pretty good head on my shoulders and know what I’m doing and what I want. And it’s you. I don’t know how else to say it or spell it out. You drive me fucking crazy.” He said, biting his lip with a small smile tugging at the corner. His heart was honestly so full and even though they were fighting, she’s the only person worth fighting for.

KITTY

Kitty was mad. It was as though every feeling she’d had since finding out Sammy was sick was coming to the surface and the easiest one for her to grasp right now was anger. She’d watched him “date” his co-star before, and maybe that was why everything with Lana caused her to spiral so much more than normal... But he really hadn’t helped the situation either. She chews on her bottom lip as she listens to him speak, feeling less angry as each moment passed. Sammy didn’t often speak this much, and she knew him enough to be sure he wasn’t acting or reciting some cliche speech right now. Kitty also knew she should probably just move on, but she’d spent what felt like forever now not having the last word and being ‘relaxed and nice’ about everything, she didn’t have it in her to do it right now. “More friendly? You were basically making heart eyes at her on the red carpet, Sammy. And we both know i’m nothing like her -- for one, when I wear hair extensions they don’t look tacky and cheap.” She shrugs, sighing in frustration. “I love you, you idiot. More than I’ve ever loved anyone. I got over every loser that’s ever hurt me, or left me for someone nicer, or better, or sexier... but I don’t want to get over you, so if you’re not planning on breaking up with me I’m gonna need you to put it in writing that you’re not going anywhere. Because I’m so damn sick of not being enough for people.” She lifts her eyes to meet his. “I’m also gonna need you to stop freaking smiling!” She says, hitting his chest gently before resting her forehead on him. “God, you’re so annoying.”

SAMMY

Sammy chuckled, he couldn’t help it. “It’s Lana, and she has a boyfriend, either way, our relationship is totally platonic. Like I love her to death but like my little sister.” He explained to Kitty, hoping she would get it. He took her hands in his and quirked his brow slightly with a small smile. He didn’t know what overcame him but what he was about to say, it just felt right. “You want it in writing?” He asked as he kisses her head and pulled away from Kitty slightly to get down on one knee. “Marry me, Kitty.” He says gently, looking up at the girl, suddenly feeling very nervous and actually scared. His voice had the slightest shake to it as he continued to speak, getting more emotional as he went on. “I-I know it might be too soon but to me it just doesn’t feel soon enough... I know you��re the one for me. I think I’ve known since the day I met you...” he bit his lip, laughing at himself for getting so emotional. “Gosh, I’m so lame.” He said under a shaky breath. “I want to spend the rest of my life with you and fighting for you and alongside you...” he brought her hand to his lips and kisses it. “I’m so in love with you, Kitty Wilde.”

KITTY

Kitty's eyes widen as he pulls away and moves onto his knee. She almost laughs because there's no way he could possibly be proposing... unless he was proposing they shower and order Chinese food. "Sammy..." She wants to stop him. Because this was not how she planned on this conversation going. She was a mess, they were standing in their kitchen surrounded by half done dishes and burnt inedible food, and they'd just spent the past ten minutes arguing. And then she hears his words -- the words -- and her heart stops beating. Was he serious? He looked serious. He sounded serious. "Sammy..." She repeats herself as she tries to remember how to breath, let alone talk. "I... This..." She shakes her head, and takes his hand to pull him up. "Stand up, stand up, stand up. That's not what I was getting out." She reassures him. "I love you... so much. But you don't have to propose to me because I'm scared you're going to leave me. That's my problem, Sammy. Not yours. Just...umm... write it on a post it note or something."

Sammy’s heart was beating at what felt like a thousand beats per minute. He knew it was a long shot but yet he still hoped she would say yes. Yes, maybe part of him did it to reassure her that he wasn’t going anywhere but most of it was because he couldn’t wait to officially spend the rest of his life with this girl. He wanted this not just for her but for him. He took another deep breath as he stood to meet her. “I...I know this isn’t what you were getting at... and I’m not just saying this to make you feel better... I- I was serious when I said I want to spend the rest of my life with you. And yes I’m terrified.” He took another moment to breathe, grabbing one of her hands and placing it on his chest, over his heart, where she could feel it still beating unbearably fast. He let out a nervous laugh. “But I’m also so, so sure that you’re the one. You’re it. And I don’t want to spend another day with anyone, anywhere doubting that. Especially not you.” He nodded and then went to reach for the drawer beside her to grab the stack of post it’s and a random purple pen, scribbling something quick on it. “So...” He said as he brought of the little piece of sticky paper to her, the words ‘Marry me?’ Scribbled on it.

Kitty was speechless. She could feel the beating of his chest and hear the way his breathing was different. But it was... sudden. Even if sometimes it felt like they were together for a lot longer, it was so sudden. She swallows and takes a deep breath as she tries to unscramble her thoughts through the sound of her own heart pounding way too loudly. God, why couldn't she think?? "You're still sweaty." She muses quietly with a small smile on her lips. He pulls away to get a post it note and in that moment Kitty's positive he's realized he's insane and is taking it all back. But if she wasn't sure how she felt before, she was even more unsure now. Taking it back might have been the smarter more rational decision, but if the way her stomach sank was any indication maybe it wasnt the one she wanted after all. Nothing with Sammy had been normal. From the moment they met Sammy had surprised her. He was crazy, and unpredictable... and possibly got too attached to his co-stars. But he fought for her. A lot. It didnt seem to matter how many times she pushed him away, or how many times she doubted him, he stuck around. He was the last person she thought of before she went to sleep at night and she loved that his face was the one she got to wake up to. Her whole life she had been trying to prove to someone that she was worth it -- her parents, her friends, her coaches, her boyfriends. But with Sammy? He didnt ask her to be anything other than herself. He didnt want or need her to prove anything. Being with him wasnt always easy... but she really did love and care for him more than she did herself. Which was... different and new.Kitty ran her fingers through her hair a little nervously, looking down at their puppy who clearly decided he'd had enough unsupervised destruction around the apartment and made his way back into the kitchen. She lifts her eyes to the post it note Sammy was now holding in front her, and she couldn't stop her face from lighting up. The blonde wasnt good at emotions, she tended to over talk and say the wrong thing, generally offending someone. But she knew how she felt in this moment. She chuckles and picks up the purple pen from the counter top, quickly taking the post it not from his fingers and scribbling below his words. There's a smile on her lips when she hands it back to him, her own words simply saying 'Yes.'

SAMMY

Sammy grew more and more nervous. Kitty being quiet about it all didn’t really help either. He half expected her to just push him away and leave the room, maybe just end things for good... god, he was stupid. He didn’t want to scare the girl away and now he was on the verge of a meltdown with how quiet they boy were. He then sees the small smile on her lips and she comments on the newly dripping sweat running down his chest. The nerves and excitement making him sweat like a pig. Still she hadn’t answered but the smile seemed hopeful and Sammy returned the small smile, waiting for an answer as his heart continued to pound in his chest. Wow, waiting was exhausting. He felt like he’d ran a marathon. He watches as she turns to pick up the pen, thankful she made the next move cause Sammy was close to a full blown anxiety attack, and she also take the note, writing something below it. It was fast and Sammy honestly has no idea what it says but he’s still hopeful. She then shows it to him and now Sammy’s the one who’s speechless. He grabs the note from her hands and pulls it closer to his face, reading it over and over and over and over. It’s in her handwriting, this was real, she said yes. He lets out a relieved sigh and looks at her with a huge smile. “Wait, really?” He asks.

KITTY

Kitty watches as Sammy takes forever to read the note. That was what he wanted, right? It was what she wanted... surprisingly. And just as she questioned herself, the look on his face answered her. "Really." She nods, grinning like an idiot and still not sure how arguing about his co-star had led to him proposing."I love you. And the idea of not having a future with you terrifies me more than being with you forever. So... yes." She says biting down on her lower lip to try and stop herself from smiling so much. "God, you make me way too cheesy." She lifts herself up on the counter behind her and wraps her legs around Sammy to pull him closer to her . "So we're... engaged?"

SAMMY

Sammy swears his heart skipped a beat actually hearing her yes. He envelopes her in his arms, pulling her incredibly close to him, a yelp of excitement and happiness escapes his mouths and he rocks her back and forth and kisses whatever he can reach with his lips. He’s so happy, he actually didn’t know he could be this happy. He feels intoxicated and high and everything just felt right in the world. “Holy shit, yes. We’re engaged. I- uh I need to get you a ring...” He stammers “Tomorrow, we can go pick one out. Whichever one you want. Holy fuck, I can’t wait to tell my parents.”

KITTY

For the second time tonight Kitty finds a small squeal escaping her mouth when Sammy's arms wrap around her and his lips are attacking her. She's happy... Beyond happy. Her face actually hurts from grinning which until right now she thought was something people said when they were trying to be cliché and cheese. "You don't have to rush." She assures him, not caring about anything other than just being with him. She picks up the post it for a second, "We have this... it's basically the same thing as a ring. But we should probably do the whole meet the parents thing some time soon." Kitty laughs slightly and leans in to kiss him again, pulling away with smile when she needs to catch her breath. "You still have to watch the Kardashians with me tonight."

SAMMY

Sammy takes another deep breath and nods. “Okay.” He says softly, pressing his forehead against hers with a gently smile. “I’m so happy right now.” He told her with a chuckle as he pulled away to look at her. “Damn, I thought proposing would get me out of that...” he joked and laughed, shaking his head with a sigh. “It’s okay, I’d endure the Kardashian’s every day if it meant being with you.” He grinned. “Okay, I definitely need to shower now and then we can Ubereats some nice champagne and food and we’ll watch the Kardashian’s. Yeah?”

KITTY

"Nope." She chuckles, tilting her head with a smile. "You basically just committed to watching it with me forever and ever and ever." She nods at his plan and places a gentle kiss to his cheek. "Oh phew, I was hoping you would shower sometime soon." Kitty teases him, her legs still tightly wrapped around him. There was a part of her that didn't want to let him go, being here with him right now felt perfect and she so very selfishly didn't want it to end. "And then we should really celebrate... preferably without clothing. Actually definitely without clothing." She smirks, and finally lets go of him so he's able to leave. "I love you, hot shot."

SAMMY

Sammy chuckled at her snarky comment and pressed his lips to her neck, growling lightly into her skin with desire and leaving a few kisses to her skin before pulling away, biting his lip with a grin. “I like the way you think.” He said as he kisses her and pulls away with a nip at her lips. “I love you, too.”

Phil

I met a boy in 11th grade. Lets call him Phil. He rode my bus. He was 1 year younger than me, and a little bit shorter. He had shoulder length blonde hair and was kind of lanky. Not really my type but we got along as friends. We made eachother laugh a lot. I valued him as a friend.

My other friends started hanging around phil too. On Halloween, my friend told me that phil had a secret he was keeping from me. I had a feeling in the pit of my stomach that he liked me as more than a friend. I saw the way he looked at me. I was flattered but I didnt let phil know that I knew.

That evening on the bus, phil broke down and finally told me. I was excited. Part of me kinda felt like I liked him too, mainly because I was just flattered to have someone interested in me and because he had always been there for me as a friend. But like I said he wasnt really my type. He was younger than me. He got detention a lot. He was kinda immature. So I kinda just let it go.

In the following weeks I started seeing him in a different light. He had always been a good friend. I admired that he didnt give a fuck what anyone thought. I had always wanted to be like that. And he did have a certain charm about him. Maybe I did like him back after all.

We flirted back and forth for the next few months. We talked on the phone occasionally. We sat next to eachother on the bus. It was like we always were, except with flirting. I was always waiting on him to make a move.

Around valentines day Phil was on myspace talking about a girl named "lily". He was talking about how lily had stayed a few nights at his house and was watching horror movies with him. I thought to myself, what the fuck?? I thought he liked me. What was he doing with other girls? I got pissed. I messaged him on myspace, not angry or anything, but just casually asked what he was doing. He said that he and lily were going to the movies. I said cool, I had been wanting to go to the movies myself to see something (probably the new twilight movie if you want me to be honest). And then he messaged back: sorry, its just going to be me and lily. I was like FIRST OF all, I was not asking to come along with you guys. I was so fucking pissed. I couldnt believe he thought I wanted to intrude on their stupid little date. But inside i was boiling with jealousy. It was valentines day and I decided that love was a big lie and I was done with it forever.

I started acting distant towards him. He finally asked me what was wrong. I said nothing. I was being stubborn as hell. He kept trying to pry an answer out of me, and I finally told him, I LIKED you. Dumbass. And he looked at me with shock. He said he didnt know that I felt the same way. And he was sorry about hurting my feelings with lily. I fell right back into it again. I couldnt be mad at him for long.

We talked on the phone every night after that. Every waking moment that we weren't at school together we would talk on the phone all hours of the night. My parents got pretty pissed about it because I had never been the boy crazy type. I was all about school, grades, friends. They didnt like this side of me, but they couldnt tell me anything. I was already head over heels. We talked about hopes, dreams, wishes. He wanted to either go in the army after school or go far far away across the country. I admired his ambition.

It was march. We were talking on the phone one night and he asked me to be his girlfriend. I said yes. I was blushing so fucking hard it probably would have been super embarassing in person. But I prepared myself the next day. We held hands on the bus, in between classes. The calls at night just kept getting longer. He knew I was really inexperienced with guys. I had never even kissed a boy. He said he wanted to give me my first kiss.

The next day, as he was walking me to 1st period, he gave me a quick peck on the lips. It didnt really feel like anything. It didnt blow me away or anything like that. It was kind of underwhelming. But I reached a new point in my life. I just got my first kiss.

It seemed like phil always wanted more and more. He wanted me to come over to his house. My mom never let me, not because she didnt trust me but because she was always funny about me going to other peoples houses. His parents were divorced and to be honest his dad didnt really watch him that well. He kind of let him do whatever. My parents were a lot more old fashioned.

It wasnt long before phil started talking about sex. I really, really, really did not want to go into this with him. But I was afraid that if I didn't at least talk to him about it I would lose him, and I would be such a loser for that. I was 16. I knew plenty of kids my age who had sex. It wasnt a big deal to a lot of people. But it was to me. I always wanted it to be special. It was kind of a scary subject to me. I knew that you could get pregnant, get diseases, anything could happen. But talking about it wouldnt do any harm, right?

He knew my parents were strict, so he suggested maybe I skip school with him or go to the library and mess around. Even the idea of that made my blood run cold. But I would be like, "haha yeah maybe." I hate myself for being so fucking stupid. I should have just said no and that I wasnt ready.

I finally convinced my parents to let him come over. He could come in my room to watch a movie but we had to leave the door open. We watched the notebook. We made out for most of it. Even with the door open. I couldnt believe the fucking nerve of myself. But I would have done it if it meant keeping him. But I drew the line at anything sexual. I finally told him I wasnt ready and he seemed to accept it.

After he left, my parents sat me down and said that he was nice, but they wanted better for me. They said he was too immature. That he wasnt meant for me. I kind of tried to brush them off but looking back on it I knew in my heart that it was true. But I would have never admitted it to myself.

He came over a couple of weeks later to help my dad do some yard work. By now, we were saying i love you to eachother and talking about how we would get married one day. I know that sounds crazy because we were so young but I just wanted so badly just to have someone, even if I didnt agree with everything he said or did. I had never had a serious boyfriend before and I wasnt about to fuck it up.

Anyways, after the yard work my parents took me and him out to eat at a nice restaurant. He held my hand on the ride there and said to me, you see your mom and dad? I want us to be like them when we grow up. They are the perfect man and wife. And I just smiled. My mom and dad were my role models. I valued and cherished them so much. I knew they wanted whatever would make me happy even if they didnt agree. That meant so much to me. And I knew that phil had a broken home life. And I thought maybe I was helping him in a way by letting him around my family so maybe he could have sort of a family of his own to talk to and that would be there for him.

Phil came over one more time. We ate dinner and watched the dvd, bloody mary. We snuggled on the couch. My mom was in the room over. He kept trying to get me to come closer and fool around with him but I wouldnt do it. I could never do something like that under my parents roof while they were IN the HOUSE!! I told him maybe if we had some time to ourselves sometime. I kept pushing sex and fooling around off. I was not ready at all. Im glad I stood my ground on that. Even though I didnt stand for much else.

Phil started becoming distant a little. He went on hiking trips with his friends on the weekends. He was really outdoorsy and I was more of the bookish type. I still am. He wouldnt hold my hand as much in between classes. The phone calls were few and far between. I became a fucking wreck.

I had no idea what I did wrong. Was it because I wouldnt let him get in my pants? I felt like I was still a kid. I wasnt ready. And besides, he said we would get married. And I thought we would have the rest of our lives for all that kind of stuff...right?

I would try to talk to him about it but he would shut me down. I tried to reason with him. I could fix this. I wanted to. I didnt want to lose my first real boyfriend.

My friends really became my support. They told me that he was using me and I needed to let him go before he hurt me worse. It was Saturday. I decided that on Monday at school I would break up with him. I never got a chance.

Sunday I got a text. It was from Phil. It said that he didnt want to be together anymore. That he tried too long to make it work and it just wasnt going anywhere. Our hobbies were so different. We were in two different worlds. He thought I could be worth his time, but I just wasnt. Thats literally the words he said to me.

I called my friend and bawled. That was the lowest I had ever felt.

The next day at school it was like phil and I never happened. He sat on the other side of the bus. He spent lunch with his friends at a different table. All I did for a week was lay my head down and cry. At lunch. In class. At home.

I was an emotional wreck. He really broke my heart. I had always had problems with my self esteem and he truly confirmed to me that I wasnt shit. I wasnt worth anyones time. That everyone deserved better.

This led to somewhat of an epiphany. I decided I wasnt good enough for anyone. I would stop feeling altogether. I wouldnt let myself get hurt again. I couldnt open up my heart only to have it smashed. I tried so hard to make something work, and then I ended up getting burned in the end.

And he continued with his life. Got a girlfriend right after that. And bragged about their sex life on myspace. I was absolutely devastated. And it showed in my life. My mom became worried about me. I stopped caring about school. I just wanted to come home and cry.

My sadness wasnt necessarily about just losing phil. It was because I came to feel like I could never truly be loved. When youre 17 and someone tells you that you are not worth it, it really fucks with your head. I descended down a downward spiral.

I wrote depressing poetry. I stopped putting on makeup and cute clothes. My mom made an appointment with my doctor. She asked if I cried a lot. I said yes. She asked if I felt hopeless. I said yes. I went home with a brand new prescription to zoloft. Something I had probably always needed. But the event itself triggered that depression and manifested it into a monster.

But, its true what they say when they say that time heals. It doesnt erase the hurt or the memories but it heals. I moved on with my life too. I focused on school again. Hung out with friends. All of it led to a better life. I believe that I couldn't have reached that if it werent for phil.

Phil made me feel low. He tried to convince me to do things I didn't want to do. And then he made me feel like a lesser person because I didn't want to do it. And for a long time I tolerated it. But I'm not that girl anymore. If someone doesnt like me, that is their fault, not mine. I will no longer try to mold myself into what others want me to be. Phil made me stronger, even though he broke my heart into a million little pieces. But I put them back together and i healed. And I thank phil for helping me build that broken path that led me to a brighter future.

Bad title for this question I know. I have never really had to go to the doctor for anything, ANYTHING. Recently I went to go see one because my energy level has been horrible, and I am always fatigued. After seeing the doctor, and getting lab work done, I had spent almost a $1000 dollars. But still, I'm okay with that, if its like one visit every six months or so, so what. Anyways, they found my Testosterone levels to be really really low. So they put me on a medication called androgel. Let me tell you, I can only get 15 days worth of this medication at a time, but every time I go to Walgreens to get a refill, I spend hundreds. Tonight when I picked it up it cost me $268.41. I called everywhere to see about health insurance, even though I only need help with prescriptions. I dont know what to do. I dont need all out full fledge health insurance. But apparently if I tried to get it anyway, I would be denied due to a pre-existing condition ((WTF))!! Apparently the only people who can qualify for health insurance are those who dont need it to begin with. And those who need it are denied because of a pre-existing condition. They are no programs that help with prescriptions that I know of, that dont require tons and tons of paperwork, audits, background investigations, and appointment after appointment. Man I love that painting. That looks like a top notch get together and I used to just like stand infront of it when I was a little kid, staring at ever ridiculously small detail...I really wish I could be there.

Describe the best hairstyle you’ve ever had.

I would have to say that the best hairstyle I've had was when my hair was really short. But I recently grew it out because I was tired of not looking like a girl and tired of rude comments.

Horse back riding. I did decent enough and advanced through the classes pretty fast but I was way too anxious to keep it up. I was nervous around the trainers and hated when the classes were full so I could barely hear anything. Not to mention I'm small and thin and weak which made certain aspects difficult.

Kristoff - basically Scandinavian for Christopher, which I’m told means carrier of Christ (okay...)

Andersson - son of Andrew (I don’t know who Andrew is)

Bjorgman - .....I absolutely have no idea about this one.

Christopher (this was by Anna, when I first met her, in which I immediately corrected her), Ice Dude, Woodsy Guy, Tall Guy, Hey You, Weirdo (by my cousins)

When and where were you born ?

I am adopted, so I’m not exactly sure where, but my birth date is on May 3.

What’s your zodiac sign and what traits do you most relate to ?

Zodiac, schmodiac. I don’t really believe all that stuff. But if you really insist, they all say I’m a Taurus. That’s the bull one, right? Awesome.

Traits? Well, it says here on the Internet that Taurus men are down-to-earth, stubborn, reserved, and can be aggressive and competitive. Well, I guess that’s me alright. It also says here that Taurus men are supposed to be well-traveled and highly successful financially. Now, I highly doubt these though.... Who came up with this stuff, anyway?

Not pretty easy. My mom usually says I’m like a rock. Not easy to break.

I do have some small scars in my arms and also a bit on my legs. Mostly due to my mountain climbing, but nothing too serious.

Um, comfortable wear? I’m no fashion expert, ya know. I’ve heard others say that my style can be either a combination between ‘lumberjack and mountaineer’ or ‘exhausted college student and hobo’.

I like me. All of me. But then again, I think being taller than most people I know is a total bummer.

Currently a junior at college. Trying to see if I can graduate with a degree in business management.

Eh, it’s alright, I guess.

I loved woodworking. And also Biology, I guess. Music too.

How would you describe them ?

Well, dad is...dad. He’s cool, as far as dads go. Doesn’t really speak or socialize much, so I guess, we’re similar at that aspect. Loves the business as much as he loves us.

Mom...well, she’s a bit chattier than us boys in the family. And by chattier, I guess you could say that she and Anna get along very well. She can be quite meddlesome, but I think she only does that because she wants to take care of us, and that she just wants the best for us.

Do they have any siblings ?

No. I got TONS of cousins though.

Are they close with their family?

Oh, yes. Very.

I guess you can say that I’m heteroromantic and heterosexual.
