jealousy jealousy
the 100 [ john murphy x reader ]
Tumblr media
type: ig angst but it’s not well written enough to ‘hit’
tropes: jealousy, roommates, unspoken but accepted love, best friends to lovers
warnings: violence ( knife fight ), mentions of murder
in which wells jaha is getting help by the only person willing to be around him, who just so happens to john murphy’s unofficial girlfriend, who then has to deal with his idiotic jealousy.
a/n: hii, i’m back! this is based on a request i really really liked but i’m not happy with what i actually wrote so i hope it’s okay to read. i kinda ignored how much of a psychopath murphy was in the first season cause i really couldn’t have justified his actions otherwise and the whole jealousy part wouldn’t have been entertaining AT ALL. so yea, i was struggling a bit ( whilst also blatantly ignoring the timeline, ignore anything that doesn’t match the canon timeline of s1 pls ), but at least i tried right🫣 no pronouns
w.c.: 2040
yours and murphy's relationship was a rather unclear, but at the same time simple one. you weren't officially dating, but during your time on the ark, when you were locked up in your shared cell, where you also met, you definitely did some inappropriate stuff; stuff that friends don't do.
your cell was also the place where the two of you bonded, becoming really really close rather quickly. although he was a very aggressive and irritating person to be around at first, you got used to it and soon he became your favourite person to be around.
now, after months of being roommates and part time lovers, you were finally on the ground, something you'd dreamed of since you first learned about it and therefore were keen on securing your survival. murphy on the other hand, got so bad that even you couldn't deny the fact he was a total asshole and if you didn't know he would never hurt you, you'd be way too scared to share a tent with him, especially alone.
you didn't actively distance yourself but after watching him bully wells, the chancellor's son, countless times for his father's actions, you kind of naturally looked for ways to make some new friends. and as if the universe hated john murphy, you seemed to work really well with wells.
everytime murphy saw you talk or walk around with wells, which honestly happened quite a lot, it fueled his hatred against home even more and made him want to stay away from you too.
you didn't mind not being associated with the provocative behaviour of john murphy and the way he tyrannized the other delinquents, however, it was a very different story when it came to going to bed and waiting for him until you physically couldn't keep your eyes open any longer, leading to you and him barely ever meeting and getting a chance to talk, despite sharing a tent.
yes, murphy was an asshole, that was totally not up for debate, BUT he was also the cell mate you had for the past few months; one who you loved deeply.
you were sitting by the dropship, wells next to you, watching your hands closely.
"see, it's really important that you wrap everything tightly, like super tight, since you don't want your arrow to fall apart in the air, alright?", you explained and made sure he understood. you were teaching him how to make an arrow from scratch and although you weren't an earth skills expert, you definitely knew more than wells, who didn't get the chance to attend earth skills class back on the ark. and you could probably count the people who at least tolerated wells on one hand, you included.
"okay and, sorry", he paused, scrunching his nose and forehead as he stared at the arrow-to-be in front of him, "how do i make sure the tip is sharp and everything? i just don't get it, sorry. i don't wanna waste your time y/n.”
you smiled, appreciating his consideration, but clearly declining his indirect offer for you to do something else. there wasn't anything else for you to do and he also wasn't wasting your time, he was just learning and you really liked teaching him; it helped you understand better as well.
"wells, c'mon. i'm choosing to be here, you didn't force me and i don't think it would be okay to produce less arrows, that literally get us food, just cause i'm bored of you", you said, smiling at him, "not.. not that i am bored of you, but you know what i mean!"
he grinned before nodding. honestly, there wasn't anything wrong with wells at all and you truly didn't understand how your fellow delinquents could treat him they way they did. especially murphy.
speaking of the devil, murphy was brutally staring at you and oh boy was he jealous.
he didn’t want to approach you, as he was lowkey trying to avoid starting anything right in front of you, let alone with you. he wasn’t blind and therefore noticed how much more distant you and him were ever since arriving on earth so he was trying to avoid any additional conflicts between you.
when you looked up, your eyes meeting his for a quick moment, leading to you sending a small smile his way, he almost forgot about all his anger and jealousy towards wells. that was until you looked back at the boy in front of you and started smiling hard at the almost perfect arrow he had just put together.
murphy was gonna make wells pay, hard. he just had to catch him away from you, something that was way harder to arrange than he’d like it to be.
“don’t you see you can’t control this?!”, wells voice echoed through the woods as you nervously made your way back. you were wandering around outside of camp, always keeping close to the dropship as you knew you could get los easily. the initial reason you decided to turn around was the cheering delinquents and something inside of you just had you thinking that murphy must have had something to do with it.
“wait”, you heard bellamy yell, making the noise die down for a moment. it calmed your nerves as you were standing at the back of the group, trying to be as tall as possible to see what was going on. “fair fight”, bellamy said before you could hear something metallic fall to the ground.
anxiety increasing again, you tried to push yourself through the delinquents that were proudly chanting for murder meanwhile you had to pray for a miracle; one that ensured that murphy wasn’t part of this.
“this is for my father”, you could make out murphy’s voice fairly quickly right as you were able to watch him attack wells with a knife. a gasp escaped your throat when wells defended himself with ease, pushing murphy to the ground and holding a knife to his throat.
“stop it! are you insane?!”, your feet were moving before you could think about your actions, bringing you right where wells and murphy were standing.
wells dropped his hand. murphy looked at you with fear and regret. he didn’t regret attacking wells, but he didn’t want you to see him like this. however, one had to admit that he hadn’t been trying very hard.
“y/n..”
“no, shut up john. i am so beyond done with your shit. yours too!”, you pointed a finger at bellamy who just rolled his eyes at your tone.
“if this is who you want to be, fine. go ahead and be a dickhead, john. you disgust me”, you mumbled angry words right into his face before storming off.
despite it being really challenging, you decided to ignore murphy for now. you couldn’t believe that he would do something as reckless as getting into a knife fight with wells! of course wells wasn’t innocent either, but it was clear who the aggressor must have been, even without having been there the entire time.
it was kind of embarrassing that you couldn’t even deny the high possible of john murphy, the boy you had lowkey caught feelings for, murdering an innocent boy for fun.
truly messed up, making murphy more and more deserving of the silent treatment you were giving him. at first he had stayed away from you until you didn’t even come to the tent at night, secretly having had asked a girl named harper to stay in hers.
so when you kept ignoring murphy the day after the incident, it angered him so much that he immediately stormed into your tent when he watched you enter it from afar.
“what the fuck y/n”, he said, his voice laced with irritation as he stared at you. his blue eyes piercing yours.
despite being intimidated, you stayed stubborn and didn’t give him any attention. he hadn’t deserved it yet.
“oh i see, you’re ignoring me? are you being serious? for what, scaring the chancellor’s son a bit? you know damn well i wouldn’t have done anything”, he said, rolling his eyes and waited for a reaction. this time you looked at him critically before ignoring him again.
“wait, you do know that, right?”, murphy’s voice softened a bit. he moved so that he could observe not only your body language, but also your eyes. this made you lower your gaze.
soon after, you felt two hands touching your skin. they were cold but the touch was warm, hot even. murphy moved your face so that you were looking at him and he immediately noticed your worried expression. he instantly understood that you actually didn’t know that he wasn’t a cold hearted killer.
“y/n, i wouldn’t have killed him, i swear. yes, i harmed him and i did that on purpose, i’ll be fully honest here, but i was just angry at him”, he explained himself calmly now.
you removed his hands from your face before getting up from the bed you had previously sat on. “what do you mean angry, john? what did wells do to you? you’ve been treating him like absolute shit, are you kidding me, i don’t get it”, you said. you wanted to yell at him but you also tried to hold onto the tiniest bit of privacy you had behind the ‘walls’ of your tent.
murphy slightly rolled his eyes and shook his head, then sat down on the bed and took off his shoes.
he is trying to escape the conversation!
it annoyed you that he had the audacity to ignore your question after everything he had done up until this point.
“what is WRONG with you, john. talk to me already!”, this time, he basically had you begging. again, unbelievable.
he tried to let as much time pass as possible before linking his hands, putting his arms behind his head and looking up. he sighed and licked his lips, trying to find the right words. “i was.. kinda jealous.”
you couldn’t help but stare at him and ultimately break out in laughter. this was absolutely pathetic.
“you were gonna kill someone out of jealousy? are you INSANE MURPHY?!”, you didn’t even try to keep your voice down, he deserved this.
“y/n, i know that it was wrong alright. but i already told you that i wouldn’t have killed him”, murphy was annoyed and you could clearly hear it in his voice. he however, could clearly see that you weren’t just going to let him disrespect you like that. he sighed again.
“do you want me to apologize?”, he asked quietly, his voice barely louder than a whisper. murphy moved his head so that he could look at you and when a slight grin appeared on your face, he let himself fall back into the sleeping bag.
of course you’d want him to apologize.
“yea, to wells”, you said, ruining his mood entirely.
“WHAT?! you gotta be insane. do you know how embarass”, your expression made him halt in the middle of the sentence, the stubbornness you radiated even caused him to groan. “okay.” you truly had him wrapped around your finger.
“good, john”, you said and walked over to him. “y’know what, this is an amazing sign for you to be better in general because from what i’ve noticed, you’ve been pure hell for most people in this camp”, you admitted, knowing he wouldn’t be mad at you for your honesty.
this, once again, caused murphy to roll his eyes at you. he shook his head slightly, not wanting to talk about his own behaviour anymore, he held one arm out to you, inviting you into the bed with him.
you hesitated for a short second, but quickly got down next to him.
“ugh come here”, murphy said and pulled you into his side.
sharing a bed or cuddling wasn’t a new thing to you two, but it made your heart jump, in a very very good way, everytime it happened.
you repositioned your head until you found a position comfortable enough to stay in and took a long breathe in.
after a moment of silence you began giggling.
“so, jealous huh?”

Part 1 : In the Shadow of Greatness
word count - 3,813
Tumblr media
You stand in your mother's room, the familiar surroundings offering little comfort as you contemplate your future. Your eyes roaming over the family mementos lining the shelves - relics of a simpler past.
The weight of her expectations hangs heavy in the air, a suffocating reminder of the greatness you're expected to live up to.
You're tempted to change your mind, to refuse the mission and defy your mother's wishes. But before you can voice your doubts, she interrupts your thoughts with a sharp command.
"You have no choice but to go," she declares, her voice leaving no room for argument. "Our people need you. You must do this for them."
Her words strike a chord deep within you, stirring a sense of duty that you can't ignore. Despite your reservations, you know she's right. You may have doubts, but you also have a responsibility to your mother.
You drew in a shaky breath, gathering what courage was left in your body. "I just don't know if I'm ready for this..."
Before she can respond, the door swings open, and a guard enters the room, their presence a reminder of the reality of your situation.
"It's time," they announce, their voice devoid of emotion.
With a heavy heart, you follow the guard out of the room, your mother trailing behind you. As you make your way through the corridors of the Ark, you can't help but feel a sense of finality settling over you.
Outside the drop ship, the guard motions for you to board, their expression unreadable. You hesitate for a moment, a thousand thoughts racing through your mind.
A flicker of movement catches your eye, and you turn just in time to see a curly-haired guard slip onto the drop ship in front of you, but before you can react, they vanish into the shadows of the ship's interior.
Ignoring the nagging feeling in the pit of your stomach, you push the unsettling sight to the back of your mind as you glance back at your mother, her eyes filled with determination, you know there's no turning back.
With a resigned sigh, you step onto the drop ship.
You may be Diana Sydney's daughter, but you're also so much more. You vow to make your mark on the world, to carve out a legacy of your own, one that shines as brightly as the stars themselves.
---
The drop ship shuddered as you and the other prisoners were herded aboard. The floor trembled beneath your feet as you were strapped into your seat, the metallic clang of restraints echoing through the cramped compartment. You were the last one to board the ship.
The hatch closing behind the guard echoing in the cramped space. You found yourself seated beside Clarke and Wells, their expressions mirroring your own mix of apprehension and determination.
Chancellor Jaha's voice boomed over the intercom, his words heavy with gravitas as he addressed the assembled prisoners.
"Prisoners of The Ark, hear me now. You've been given a second chance, and as your Chancellor, it is my hope that you see this as not just a chance for you, but a chance for all of us, indeed for mankind itself.," he declared, his tone solemn.
“We have no idea what is waiting for you down there If the odds of survival were better, we would've sent others. Frankly, we're sending you because your crimes have made you expendable."
The significance of his words hung heavy in the air as the drop ship's engines roared to life, drowning out any further explanation. With a lurch, the ship lifted off from the Ark, hurtling towards the distant planet below.
Clarke leaned in closer, her eyes wide with disbelief. "Return to Earth? But how?"
Jaha's voice swept over the group once more. " The drop site has been chosen carefully. Before the last war, Mount Weather was a military base built within a mountain. It was to be stocked with enough non-perishables to sustain three hundred people for up to two years. But make no mistake, this is a one-way trip. There will be no return journey."
The turbulence of re-entry rattled the shuttle around you, sending a jolt of fear through your body. Shocks from the atmosphere shook through the vessel as it descended through Earth's atmosphere, jostling you and your fellow prisoners in your seats.
Clarke gripped the armrests tightly, her knuckles white with tension, while Wells tried to maintain a facade of calm despite the worry etched into his features.
Abruptly Wells broke the silence speaking to Clarke as the ship continued its descent, “Clarke, there's something I have to tell you. I'm sorry I got your father arrested.”
Just as turbulence around you reached its peak, Clarke's voice cut through the ship, sharp and accusing. "Don't you talk about my father, Wells!" she spat, her eyes blazing with anger. "If it weren't for you, my father would still be alive!"
Wells flinched at her words, his expression pained. "Please, I can't die knowing that you hate me," he shot back, his voice tinged with regret. "You know that."
Their argument filled the compartment, adding to the already palpable discomfort as the drop ship hurtled towards its destination.
Despite the chaos around you, you couldn't shake the feeling that this was only the beginning of the challenges you would face on Earth.
Wells reached out and squeezed your hand, his eyes locking with yours in silent reassurance. "We can do this," he said, his voice steady despite the chaos around you.
And as the drop ship hurtled towards the surface of Earth, you couldn't help but wonder what awaited you below.
With a final jolt that sent a shockwave through your body, the drop ship touched down on the planet's surface, kicking up a cloud of dirt that enveloped the vessel in the patch valley on earth.
---
**On the Ark**
The sterile walls of your mother's room felt suffocating as she laid out her plan, her expression grave and determined. She spoke with a fervent intensity, her eyes shining with determination as she sat in front of you.
"Our society is facing a crisis unlike any we have seen before,” she began, her voice echoing off the metal walls of the cramped quarters. "The Ark can't sustain us much longer. We need to find a solution, and we need to find it now."
You listened in silence, your heart pounding in your chest as you tried to comprehend the magnitude of what she was proposing. To be sent to Earth, the very planet that had been deemed uninhabitable for generations, was a death sentence. And yet, there was a glimmer of hope in your mother's eyes,
“We have no choice," she Diana declared, her steely gaze boring into yours. "You must be the one to lead this mission. To sacrifice yourself for the greater good."
You shook your head weakly, "You're asking too much. I can't...”
“I know it's a lot to ask, but you are the only one who can do this for me. You must get arrested and be sent to Earth.”
Her words hung heavy in the air, and you felt the weight of your mother's expectations bearing down on you. To be the one to leave the safety of the Ark, to journey to Earth.
“I can't”
She gripped your shoulders firmly , her nails digging into your shoulders. “You can, and you will. Think of the legacy you will leave behind, the hero who saved humanity from extinction.”
You jerked away from her. "I don't care about glory, Mom! I care about..." you faltered, emotions choking your voice.
Her eyes darkened. “About what y/n? About your own selfish desires? This is bigger than you. This is about the future of our people, about ensuring that generations to come will have a chance to live.”
You stared at the floor, despair and frustration simmering within your body. "There must be another way..."
"There is no other way," she interjected harshly. "Either you accept this mission, or you condemn us all to oblivion."
You finally met her piercing gaze again, anger inside your chest. "And if I refuse? What then? Will you cast your only daughter out like garbage?"
“Refusal is not an option y/n.” she snapped at you, struck by your defiance.
"But why me?" you finally managed to ask, your voice barely above a whisper.
Diana's expression softened, a mixture of pride and sadness crossing her features. "Because you're the bravest person I know," she replied, her voice catching in her throat.
"Because you have the strength and the intelligence to succeed where others have failed.” She lifted your chin gently. “Because... because I believe in you."
Her words stirred something deep within your soul. Despite the fear and uncertainty gnawing at your insides, you knew that your mother was right.
“You don't have a choice, my dear. You are my daughter, and you will do as I say. You will accept this mission, or you will be condemning our family to death.”
"I'll do it," you said, your voice steady despite the turmoil raging inside you. "I'll go to Earth."
Diana reached out, taking your hand in hers, her grip tight with determination. "Thank you, my child," she said, her voice trembling with emotion. "You're the best hope we have."
Squaring your jaw, you gave her a single firm nod.
---
Consciousness slowly seeps back into your mind, you find yourself disoriented, the lingering effects of the drop ship's bumpy descent still echoing in your senses.
Blinking away the haze, you realize you're still strapped into your seat, the unfamiliar restraints digging into your skin.
Pushing yourself upright, you glance around the compartment, noting the absence of your fellow travelers. Panic grips your chest as you realize they must have already disembarked, leaving you behind.
With a sense of urgency, you unstrap yourself and stumble to your feet, swaying slightly as you brace yourself against the nearest surface. The drop ship is eerily quiet now, the only sound the faint hum of the engines as they slowly wind down.
Taking a deep breath to steady yourself, you make your way to the ladder that leads down to the first floor. The sound of your rings clanging off the metal of the bars.
You jump off the ladder searching the crowd for any familiar faces when your eyes catch sight of someone unexpected—a guard stationed at the door, his gaze fixed on the approaching delinquents.
Despite the disorder unfolding around him, he remains calm and composed, a striking figure amidst the turmoil.
For a moment, time seems to stand still as you lock eyes with the guard, his presence commanding your attention in a way you can't quite explain. There's something magnetic about him, something that draws you in despite never seeing him.
You begin to push through the crowd, your eyes catch sight of the guard speaking to a raven-haired girl by the doors. Their exchange is terse, tension simmering just beneath the surface as they trade words.
Clarke's voice rang out in warning from her place in the crowd, her concern evident as she spoke. "No, we can’t just open the doors.” She continues, “stop! The air could be toxic."
The guard dismissed her concerns breezily, his confidence unwavering, “If the air is toxic, we’re all dead anyway.”
“Do you mind? I haven’t seen my brother in a year.” The raven-haired girl snaps back at Clarke, her words sharp with frustration
A ripple of dissent passes through the crowd as the delinquents anonymously challenge her claim, “No one has a brother!”
“That’s Octavia Blake, the girl they found hidden in the floor," someone explained.
The pressure threatens to escalate as the delinquents continue to pitch in, but the guard intervenes, his authoritative voice cutting through the chaos,
“Octavia. Octavia no. Let’s give them something else to remember you by,” he says as he smiles at his younger sister.
Reluctantly, the raven-haired girl nods, her defiance tempered by the realization that she has little choice but to comply. “Yeah, like what?” she bites back.
The guard's voice swelled with pride. “Like being the first person on the ground in a hundred years.”
Octavia considered this for a second, the gears turning in her head as she headed to the door with a determined stride, her hand outstretched as she prepares to step onto the unknown surface below.
The crowd watches in silence, holding their breath, the girl's boots makes contact with the ground. For a moment, nothing happens, the world holding its breath in anticipation.
“We’re back bitches!” Octavia exclaims, sending a ripple of relief through the crowd.
You're greeted by the sight of your fellow delinquents racing ahead as your feet touch solid ground, their figures disappearing into the distance.
---
You and Wells climb down from the top of the dropship while you both discuss the concerning state of the wires atop the Ark, Clarke approaches with urgency etched into her features.
“We got problems. The communications system is dead. We went to the roof. A dozen panels are missing. Heat fried the wires.” You remark, voice tinged with worry.
Clarke wastes no time in redirecting the focus to their immediate priority. "Well, all that matters right now is getting to Mount Weather," she asserts, her voice resolute as she gestures to the map spread out before them.
"See? Look. This is us. This is where we need to get to if we want to survive."
You exchange a glance with Wells, a knot of worry tightening in your stomach at Clarke's words.
Wells, though concerned about the malfunctioning communications system, is quick to acknowledge the urgency of Clarke's point. "Where'd you learn to do that? Your father," he muses.
Jasper, ever the optimist, interjects with a lighthearted remark, eager to lighten the mood despite the gravity of their situation. "Ah, cool, a map. They got a bar in this town? I'll buy you a beer," he quips, a hint of humor in his voice.
"It's not about beers, Jasper," you say with a wry smile, trying to inject some levity into the conversation. "It's about survival." You admired his positive attitude in such unfortunate circumstances.
Wells, however, remains focused on the task at hand, his expression serious as he turns back to Clarke. "You mind?" he asks, seeking permission to take a closer look at the map and join in the planning for their journey to Mount Weather.
Before you can respond, Bellamy Blake inserts himself into the conversation with his characteristic rudeness. "We're on the ground. That not good enough for you?" he challenges, his tone dripping with skepticism.
Wells, undeterred by Bellamy's hostility, presses on. "We need to find Mount Weather. You heard my father's message. That has to be our first priority."
Clarke, however, refuses to be drawn into their petty squabbles, ending their fight.
"Do you think we care who's in charge?" she retorts, her voice cutting through the tension. "We need to get to Mount Weather because the longer we wait, the hungrier we'll get and the harder this'll be."
Bellamy, ever the provocateur, offers his own suggestion with a sneer. "I got a better idea. You three go, find it for us. Let the privileged do the hard work for a change."
Without a second thought, you step forward, closing the distance between you and Bellamy until you're mere inches from his face.
"Privileged? You think we're privileged?" you shoot back, your voice sharp with indignation. "We're all in this together, Bellamy. Every single one of us has to do our part if we want to survive."
Bellamy's sneer only fuels your anger. "We're alive. That’s what matters, that not good enough for you?" he retorts, his tone dripping with disdain.
"You have a better idea, Bellamy? Or are you just too afraid to get your hands dirty?" you retort, your voice laced with equal parts anger and defiance.
The tension between you crackles like electricity, the heat of your argument fueling an unexpected and undeniable attraction.
In spite of the gravity of your situation, there's a palpable energy between you that neither of you can ignore.
Bellamy's jaw tightens, his gaze challenging. "You think you know what's necessary? You think you're the one in charge here?" he scoffs.
Before your argument can escalate further, a voice interrupts from above. "Enough!" Finn's commanding tone cuts off your voice as he jumps down from the dropship, his presence immediately shifting the dynamic.
Clarke steps in, her voice firm. "We don't have time for this, Bellamy. Finn's y/n's right. We need to focus on finding Mount Weather."
Wells nods in agreement. "Let's get moving. The longer we wait, the harder this'll be."
Jasper, ever the optimist, chimes in. "I'm with you guys. Let's find that place and get some answers."
---
Your group ventured deeper into the unfamiliar woods, you couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer vastness of nature surrounding you.
Towering trees stretched their branches towards the sky, their leaves filtering the sunlight to create dappled patterns on the forest floor. The air was thick with the scent of earth and pine, and the sounds of birdsong and rustling leaves filled your ears.
Clarke led the way, her eyes scanning the underbrush for any signs of danger as finn followed closely behind. Jasper and Octavia walked side by side, their laughter and banter breaking the quiet of the forest.
"You know, I've never seen anything like this," you remark, taking in the scenery with wide eyes. "It's like something out of a storybook."
Monty nods in agreement, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "It's amazing, isn't it? I never thought I'd get to see something like this."
As you continue along the winding path, you stumble upon a picturesque lake nestled among the trees. Its surface glimmered in the sunlight, inviting and serene.
Octavia's eyes light up at the sight, and before anyone can stop her, she's stripping off her clothes and diving into the cool, clear water.
“Octavia what the hell are you doing?”
You watch in awe as Octavia swims gracefully through the lake, her movements fluid and effortless. She's like a mermaid, ethereal and otherworldly in her beauty.
The water around her glistened in the sunlight as she continued to glide in the Lake.
But your admiration is short-lived as a sudden commotion erupts from the water. “Oh… Octavia, get out of the water! Get out of the water now!” Jasper screams from beside you, you run towards the edge contemplating jumping in. Octavia's joyful laughter turns to screams of terror as a snake slithers out from the underbrush and strikes at her.
Without hesitation, Jasper springs into action, leaping down the rocks to reach Octavia's side. You watch in horror as he runs to save Octavia from its grasp.
"Jasper, be careful!" you shout, your heart pounding in your chest as you scramble down the rocks to join them.
Jasper focused solely on the task at hand, his face a mask of determination. With a final, desperate push, the group manages to push a boulder into the other side of the clear water, sending the serpent away from Octavia, it’s large figure slithering back into the water.
You rush to Octavia's side, helping Jasper pull her out of the lake and checking her for injuries. She's shaken but barely harmed, thanks to Jasper's quick thinking and bravery.
"Thank you, Jasper," Octavia says, her voice trembling with emotion. "You saved my life."
Jasper smiles weakly, his breath coming in ragged gasps. "Just doing what anyone would do," he replies, his gaze never leaving Octavia's face.
"Note to self, next time, save the girl."

** On the Ark**
The air in your room on the Ark feels heavy with tension as you watch your mother enter. Without a word, she fixates on you with a piercing intensity that sent a shiver down your spine.
Diana's expression is dark as she strides towards you, her movements calculated and precise.
There's a fire in her eyes, a dangerous spark that sends a shiver down your spine. "Well, well, well. Look what we have here. The daughter who thinks she knows better than her own mother."
"Mom, what's wrong? Why are you here?"
"Why am I here? Why do you think y/n? Because of you, that's why."
You recoiled at the venom in her words, the accusation hanging heavy in the air between you. "Because of me? What do you mean?"
"Don't play dumb with me. You know exactly what I'm talking about. It's because of you that I've been removed from the council." She continues.
“It's because of your disobedience, your insolence, that I've been removed from the Council."
"Mom, please, you know I would never intentionally hurt you," you plead, your voice trembling with emotion. "I didn't mean for any of this to happen."
Her voice rises with each word, a crescendo of rage and frustration that threatens to consume you whole. You shrink back, feeling like a small, insignificant creature in the face of her wrath.
"Oh, I don't want to hear your pathetic excuses. You think you're so clever, so independent, but you're nothing but a fool. A foolish child who thinks she knows better than her own mother."
You feel the sting of tears prickling at the corners of your eyes, but you refuse to let them fall. You refuse to give her the satisfaction of seeing you break.
“You've always resented me, haven't you? Resented the fact that. I'm more powerful, more influential than you could ever hope to be." Her words cut through the silence like a knife, each syllable dripping with scorn and resentment.
"That's not true!” You feel frustration and anger bubbling up inside you. "I'm not responsible for your mistakes, Mom. You brought this upon yourself."
"Don't make me laugh. You've always been jealous of me, jealous of my success, my power. And now you've finally gotten what you wanted, haven't you? You've finally managed to bring me down. Just like your father."
The mention of your father's name sends a pang of sadness through you as Diana's jaw clenches, her fists tightening at her sides. "You've always been so quick to shift the blame onto others. "
Her accusations hung in the air, poisoning the space between you as you struggled to find the words to defend yourself.
"He would never have wanted things to end up like this," you retort, your voice tinged with sorrow.
Diana's expression softens for a moment, a flicker of regret crossing her features. But then, just as quickly, it's replaced by a steely resolve. "It doesn't matter now.”

Ep 1 Pilot Live blog
I'm going in guys.
FiFirst sight of baby Clarke drawing and dreasming of Earth. :( And the reveal that the whole earth is dead, and only The Ark is surviving.... or so they think. Another 100 years before it's survivable.
Baby Clarke. Oh she's not even eighteen. Every crime punishable by death and our little feral Clarkie overpowers the big tough guards. OH look it's Abby. Giving the Delinguents the chance to live! ON THE GROUND!
Damn they shot her with a tranq dart.
And the drop ship is off.... zoomies. Clark wakes up in a tin can with OH WELLS!!!! poor baby Wells. OH Monty and
And the chancellor telling them they ARE the chance for everyone because THEY are expendable. I always hated that. How can you call people expendable. Such a bad world view.
Oh the lady we never saw again after the pilot. I liked her. Abby's friend. What was her name?
ooomg, Clarke is giving Well's dad a dirty look. AND floating hair for brains. Finn. Right how did I forget his name? Octavia is enjoying her freedom with the other kids. But acceleration and Finn and his followers break the fucking ship.
Why is my brain so bad I've forgotten everyone's names.
Wells trying to apologize and Clarke NOT forgiving him. Little Wanheda.
Clarke goes to check on the fallen kids and starts taking control right away
OMG BELLAMY, just back it up guy, and Clarke gets in his face right away.
But here comes Octavia "the girl that hid under the floor." "OMG Look how big you are." Much tears.
Oh pissy octavia because he's in guard uniform. "No one has a brother!" All these reveals are pretty slick, actually. I know the who thing is cheesy but they are giving us so much information.
WOW. They open the door and SUDDENLY EVERYONE IS SO BEAUTIFUL IN THE GOLDEN SUN AND WIND MACHINES.
Don't say Octavia Don't say it.
WERE BACK BITCHES!!!!
she said it.
and enter the delinquents. Oooh. Radioactive. Not me dancing with with delinquents. Yes. Yes I am chair dancing.
"Why so serious princess?" Ugh. Gag. Wow I really hate finn. Still. More so.
Poor baby Clarke is so serious. THey dropped us on the wrong damn moutnain. Was that seriously all before the first commercial break? WOW packed.
Kane as a villain. Remember that? He is awful. Jackson and SInclair!!
Wells wants to be so helpful.
OMG John Murphy as an actual villain. And Bellamy too. Octavia the rebel. It's so weird seeing them so naive. But actually Octavia's character is still the same. Wells and Murphy fighting until hair brains jumps down and acts "the hero." Why is he so icky?
"Hey spacewalker. Rescue me next." EW. Octavia you picked the wrong guy.
Oh remeber that Bob came up with that deep voice because he stayed out too late the night before or something and had a husky voice so he then had to fake a deep voice for the next seven years of his life. lol.
God I cannot express how every time Finn opens his mouth I hate him more.
Our first adventure with Clarke and Finn and Octavia and Jasper and Monty.
Oh that's right. Jaha was shot. I totally forgot. After Clarke gets his pardon it becomes a non issue. And Jasper and Monty got put in jail for weed. lol. And poor baby O for "being born."
Haha. The shocking two faced deer that scares them all. All these wonders of the earth are very nostalgic. OH that's right, Abby gets put into jail for using too many supplies to save him.
And they discovered the shooter of Jaha. "It's no one. Just a janitor." Oh this guy is trying to get Kane to kill people. OH YEAH KANE you're talking to the traitor. It's that guy.
Murphy's back story. Begging for mercy in the float chamber when your father floated him.
Bellamy is so young. A trouble maker. Really just trying to keep the Ark from joining them because he killed Jaha. And taking over as ruler. Or dad of the group.
Oh new reveal. Clarke tells them why they sent the 100 down. The Ark is Dying. Three months left of life support. Maybe four after sending them down.
Why does she think Wells turned in her dad, anyway? Just because she couldn't imagine her mom doing it?
Oh me rolling my eyes when Finn says "we have to warn them" when really he's just saying that for Raven, not for some moral reason.
Octavia stripping and jumping into the water. Where did her jumpsuit go and how did she get the pants.
And Jasper spots the CREATURE coming to get Octavia. You know they could have used the creature in the water as one of the dangers in the following eps but they just dropped that. The only monster we really had in early season was Pauna. I mean non human monsters. We should have had more monsters.
I'm really just not paying attention to Jasper saving Octavia. It doesn't really feed into the rest of the story. That was a big monster. We should have seen more of it.
The delinquents having their first bonfire and taking off the wrists. Oh that was Fox. Wells is a goody goody. It's a little annoying. I mean he's right but he's not going about this in the right way. There you go. Our doctors, our farmers, our engineers. Bellamy is like okay well that's a good point. Until he Wells says "how could you not want our people to come down." And then he's like "what do you mean WE kemosabe. those aren't my people. Those are the people who floated my mom and put my sister in jail."
Now they're shouting WHATEVER THE HELL WE WANT they are fucking morons. Honestly.
But they are loving the rain. Hey that's the first rain they've ever experienced. Aww.
And abby gets arrested for saving Jaha. I mean Kane is right. No special treatment. But the whole concept is not good. Abby is used to special treatment though.
Penal code ONE. Their first law. Wow. All crimes are capital crimes.
"I choose to make sure that the human race stays alive"
"I choose to make sure we deserve to stay alive." Abby.-- This was like the most important statement made in the entire show, right here. First episode. And it was a driving force until season seven where they were just like. Nah. Nazi cults are the best idea. Technology. Purple aliens.
Oh they put Abby in Clarke's cell with her drawings.
Clarke wakes up on the earth (the dream) with the luminescent trees. Again a thing they could have used more often. maybe it was too expensive.
Oh Finn. You're ruining the mood. Go away. Yes I mock Finn's every line after he says it. Finn finds tracks he says are monkeys. Which we never see.
Kane thinks he's the only one who's willing to do what it takes which is going to be echoed by Bellamy later. They're both wrong. What was that character's name? Played by Kelly Hu I think.
Bellamy dragging Wells out in the middle of the night with his gun. He's telling Wells to stand up to his dad and take off the wristband. Murphy's reprobates take off his wristband. I totally thought they were gonna kill him but the scene ends with the clink and release.
Now we're executing Abby until... Jaha comes to the rescue.
Swinging across the river..."see ya on the other side." Jasper is trying to impress O. Finn STOP TALKING. you're a terrible character.
Good music though. "IT's okay to be afraid, Jasper. The trick is not fighting it." Ok Finn that line is actually pretty good.
Jasper finds the sign for Mount Weather and after much cheering and laughing--BOOM in the chest with spear. Not sure how he survived that actually.
The magic of hollywood.
"We're not alone." and BOOM WERE OUT.
well. that was fun. I can't see it for what it was, though. I can only see it for how it relates to the rest of the story that I know came later even if somethings don't relate and some things I didn't notice or forgot.
The acting's a bit wooden and stiff and the delinquents are morons. The hair gel is too strong-- the main reason we're happy for the first delinquent rain storm.
I remember I didn't love the show after the first episode, but I liked it enough to keep watching. It wasn't until ep three or four that I really started loving it.
ALL RIGHT MY FRIENDS. Let us now open The 100 Rewatch 2023 season!
Add your opinions and insights. Link me when you do a liveblog. Comment and send asks.
I don't know if we have a schedule anywhere or a discord. But as of now, we're looking on focusing on each of the first six seasons every two months. SO february and march is season 1.

I never got too deep into the tv series and honestly didn't even know it had a book adaptation but were there any big differences between them?
so many. to be fair to the show — with all the grace i'm willing to give jason rothenberg lmao — the show & the first book were developed at the same time from the same base concept kass had come up with for it.
that being said, here are some differences!
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤthe time between the nuclear apocalypse — called the cataclysm in the book — and the beginning of the story is 97 years in the show and 300 years in the books.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤthe ark is referred to as the colony, and consists of three major “ships” (phoenix, arcadia & walden), rather than the 12 or so stations (medical, earth monitoring, agro, alpha, arrow, factory, hydra, mecha, prison, tesla, flint & orchid) on the ark.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤin terms of comparability, phoenix & alpha seem to be the most “rich” of the stations / ships, and arcadia & walden being comparable to factory or mecha in terms of being the working class stations.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤthe colony itself has a far more in depth look into the classism on it’s ships, with phoenix being the “upper class” ship where people can have a better life through their status and wealth, vs arcadia & walden being more “working class” where people struggle to get by and a lot of the ships resources are not allocated properly. there is also a law divide between the ships, as those on walden or arcadia are not allowed to travel between the ships to phoenix without permission, and doing so could result in punishment.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤin the show, clarke & bellamy are the two main leads; in the books, there are four pov characters, with wells being one and another being glass sorenson, who isn’t in the show and doesn’t have any composite character there.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤthere are no grounders in the books; instead the people found on the ground when the delinquents land are a rebellious offshoot of the main group known as the earthborn. however they are more equivalent to a “good” version of the mountain men; as their ancestors survived in the mountain bunker before leaving it 50 years before the books start. they are led by max walgrove.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤas such, there are no grounders from the shows in the books. other characters from the show’s main group that don’t exist in the books : raven reyes, finn collins, john murphy, marcus kane, monty green, jasper jordan, harper mcintyre, eric jackson, nathan miller, etc etc.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤlincoln also does not exist in the books but there is a character similar to him in concept — a person from earth falling in love with a sky person & being rebellious against their people — in max's daughter, sasha walgrove.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤraven reyes also has a character similar to her in luke, glass's boyfriend. both are engineers who struggle to keep their loved one alive & suffer a leg injury some time into the show / book.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤvarious name changes from show to book are: ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤaurora blake is melinda blake. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤabby griffin is mary griffin. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤjake griffin is david griffin.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤthe colony’s law follows the gaia doctrine, the ark follows the exodus charter.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤthe skyboxis referred to as confinement or the detention center.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤthe nuclear apocalypse (praimfaya or apocalypse one) is referred to as the cataclysm or the exodus.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤthere’s no name for the tree in the show, but in the books, it’s referred to as the eden tree & it is set on fire by wells' in order to get himself sent down to earth.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤoctavia is 16 in the show & 14 in the books. bellamy is 23 in the show & 20 in the books.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤwhile clarke & bellamy are confirmed bisexual by the show & actors, it is unknown if kass intended for them to be bisexual in the books also. however, octavia is confirmed bisexual or mspec, as she has been shown to have crushes on wells & graham, & kissed a girl named anna.
SPOILER TERRITORY BELOW.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤbellamy is wells' half brother, with wells’ father, chancellor jaha, who had slept with melinda blake before getting into a relationship with wells’ mother. as there are no described races in the books, the ethnicities of the boys & their parents are unknown. this did not carry over into the show, as bellamy is played by the half filipino, half white actor bob morley, & wells is played by the black actor eli goree.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤbellamy & clarke are a confirmed couple in the books, having gotten engaged in the last book, rebellion.
ㅤㅤㅤ•ㅤmary & david griffin are revealed to be alive in homecoming, surviving unlike their counterparts in the show: jake (who died before the show started via being floated) & abby (who was murdered by russell lightbourne.)
this was a very long post & there are probably other differences but i'm in the process of rereading the books now so i'll reblog this with any others i find if i do!

Reunited
Pairings: John Murphy x reader
Warnings: none
Summary: The reader is reunited with Murphy after be separated from him.
Tumblr media
It had been a year since my boyfriend had got locked up, I tried to see him as much as possible but after I had also been arrested, I was no longer able to. Every day I dreamed of being with him again, wondering what he was doing, or even if he got with other girls. After all, we were all going to die soon.
"Prisoner, face the wall." Guards swarmed into my room; I wasn't good at keeping track of the time, but I knew for sure it wasn't my day. I still had several months left until I would be floated. I roughly shoved against the wall as they put a band on my wrist. I felt the band stab into my skin with small spikes.
"What's happening?" Instead, I received no answer and was pushed out of the small cage I had been locked in. Outside there was not only me getting pulled out by guards, but many others too. I looked around to see if I could him but suddenly everything went dark.
I awoke from a jolt and several screams. Around me were other prisoners like me, strapped to a chair or the wall. Chancellor Jaha's face showed on the screens around the pod, and he explained how we were getting sent down to Earth for a second chance. It was a good choice, personally. Either we get sent down and have the chance at living or dying or we stay up there and have no other chance at survival. I was devastated to see that I didn't recognize anyone in here, besides the obvious, Clarke and Wells.
Our seatbelts detached and we were all let out, everyone rushed down the ladder where we were met with more prisoners. I didn't get a chance to look around as I was shoved to the back, behind everyone and anyone that was significantly taller than I was. The doors were opened, and I was able to take in the fresh smell of Earth. The trees stood tall, and the grass was green. So much better than what I could ever imagine it to be.
I remember the days I would sit at my window and look out into the field of nothing. Wondering if I ever would be able to see Earth, even if it was just a photo. And now I was finally here.
I stepped out of the drop ship and walked around. All the faces surrounding me were unfamiliar, although I still had hope. I walked around and took a look at the different plants I had never even known existed.
A large group had formed over by the entrance to the dropship, so I decided to go check it out. I pushed through the people, and I saw three boys standing in the middle. One of them being Wells Jaha, the other being the spacewalker and lastly the one guy I had been looking for. "Murphy?" Everyone turned my way, and I could see the shock in his eyes as he saw me. The frown on his face faded and was instead replaced with a small smile. I ran up to him and the first thing I did was give him a long-awaited kiss. I could hear people around us cheering and letting out whistles, but I could not care less about what anyone thought at that moment. "Murphy? Is that really you?"
"Well, I'd hope you didn't just go up to a random guy and kiss him." He replies jokingly. He brings me in for a hug, which I return ten times harder. "I've missed you so much." He mumbled. By now everyone had walked off, no longer wanting to see what we were doing.
"I've been looking for you, I thought maybe you weren't sent down here."
"You can't get rid of me that easily. Come on, let's go explore." John pulled me off in the direction of where one of his friends was waiting. "This is my girl. Anyone touches her and their dead. Understood?" I couldn't help but blush at his words 'my girl' such simple words had such a big effect on me.
After exploring some more, John decided to stop and do some decorating on the drop ship. "You know, my father, he begged for mercy in the air-locked chamber when your father floated him," I remembered that day. That was a day that nearly ended us completely. After his father's death, John stopped talking to me and continuously pushed me away. If I had listened, and stopped trying to help him, we would no longer be a thing. That would certainly be an awkward way of life on Earth.
"If you're gonna kill someone, it's probably best not to announce it." Bellamy Blake walked over to us, and I noticed the small step John took to make it so he stood in front of me and apparently so did Bellamy as he eyed him down.
"You're not really a member of the guard, are you?"
"No. The real guard will be here soon unless we stop it. You don't actually think they're gonna forgive your crimes. Even if they do, then what? Guys like us, we're gonna become model citizens now? Get jobs? If we're lucky, maybe pick up their trash." Bellamy explained.
"You got a point?"
"No. I got a question. They locked you up. Separated you from your girlfriend. Dumped you down here like lab rats to die. So why are you helping them?"
"The hell we are-"
"You're wearing those bracelets aren't you. Right now, those things are telling them whether or not it's safe to follow us." I could tell as Bellamy kept talking that he was slowly getting closer to getting inside John's head.
"Okay. You said we could stop it. how?"
"Take them off. The Ark will think you're dead. That it's not safe to follow. You follow?" I couldn't tell if what he was doing was a good thing or not. Whether he wanted this for a certain reason or he genuinely knew what was right.
"Right. And if we do, what's in it for us?"
"You get to be with your girlfriend in peace, and someone's gotta help me run things."
John turns around and brings me back in for another hug. "This day just keeps getting better."

The air was crisp, clean, a lungful was enough to remind him of where he stood. Earth. Their original home, the point of origin. It was far more serene, and complex than he could have previously imagined. Sneaking unto the dropship had been worth the sacrifice he had to undergo. No one knew. Did they? Clarke was suspicious of him. Bellamy was the only actual adult to have survived the landing, here he stood, surrounded by a multitude of delinquents, himself included. Except these ones were all freshly eighteen, and were experiencing the luxury of freedom for possibly the first time. Two days since the dropship had landed, everyone setting up tents, exploring the forest, and each other. It was a mess. A sense of responsibility was being crafted into his chest, yet he had little to no desire to act on it. ‘Whatever the hell we want’ was a good enough tagline to allow him some peace of mind, and frustrate a few of the delinquents currently building shelters.
Bellamy departed the camp, preferring to spend some time away from prying, watchful eyes. The sounds were almost constant, he hadn’t known the Earth could be this loud. The Ark had the continuous hum of the engines, accompanied by the constant metallic vibration beneath his feet. Here. It stilled, birds, rustling, the wind, it all made sound. It solidified his choice, shooting Chancellor Jaha was a small price to pay to be on the ground, as well as with his sister. Who no doubt was actively getting into trouble. The sound of water flowing drew his attention, climbing over a few rocks he spotted a lone individual, kneeling by the slow creek. Bellamy’s attention perked, not exactly familiar with everyone he crept downward. As silently as he could. Once a few feet away, he found his curiosity getting the better of him, taking a moment to observe the individual. Dark, curly, long hair, pale skin in direct contrast to his own. With the strangers back to him, a sly grin spread across his freckled cheeks. “Boo!” Hands coming down harshly on the others shoulders, followed by a light chuckle leaving his chest. “Did I scare you?”

Title: PSYCHO – JOHN MURPHY
THE HOURS FEEL LIKE DAYS. If it weren't for the guards coming to check on her every couple hours, she's afraid she'll run out of time. Ainsley Ashter has spent the last five years in Solitary confinement. The silence alone was enough to drive anyone mad, let alone someone like her. Five long exhausting years spent staring at four walls, with nobody but herself for company. Even the guards wouldn't speak with her unless they had no choice.
Not that she blamed them. How do you look at someone who murdered their own parents brutally, with nothing but the metal post of her bed, and her bare hands? The easiest answer? You don't.
She heaves a sigh, half laying, half sitting on her cot, her elbows propped up so her head rests in her palm. Her other hand simultaneously pulls at a string located on the thin blanket. Any time now, she'll be pulled from her room, and dragged down the corridors until they reach the air lock. From there, she'll be locked inside until Jaha presses a button, and then she'll be sucked out to space. A supposed instantaneous death awaits her.
Keeping busy is the only way Ainsley knows to keep the demons at bay. Well, as long as she could. She's in the process of pulling one of the strings in the threading loose, when she hears the thudding of boots hitting just outside her cell. The door squeaks open forcefully, followed by four guards entering quickly. Each looking more nervous than the next.
"Prisoner 179, turn and face the wall!" The guardsman, Walker, shouts leaving no room for arguments.
Ainsley does as she's told. She knows the inevitable fate that awaits her, and there's not really any sense in fighting it. At least now she'll find out what it's like to die. If there's anything on the other side; if there were some truth to May we meet again.
God, she hopes not.
"So, what are my chances of having a last supper?" Ainsley mutters sarcastically from her position facing the wall, but not one guard dared to answer her. It's easy to assume it's because they are all afraid that she'd lash out, but the truth is; she accepts it. Her destiny.
Guardsman Nikolas is surprisingly the first person to approach her from behind, albeit a little hesitant. Ainsley doesn't even have a chance to react, before he's shoving a needle in the side of her neck. The effects of the sedative work quickly as the world around Ainsley blurs. The last thing she remembers is the stinging sensation of something on her wrist.
★──────────★
A groan leaves her lips simultaneously while her eyes flutter open. Once her eyes adjusted, she took notice of people strapped to seats in some kind of dropship. Some were awake, and some still trying to shake off the aftereffects of the sedative the guards used. Some has even taken the liberty to stare at Ainsley horror-struck. Out of solitary for five damn minutes and she already missed the silence.
"Prisoners of the Ark, hear me now." Chancellor Jaha's voice rang out, coming from a monitor in the center of the dropship. His head held high, and it was at this moment that realization struck Ainsley. He's sending them to Earth. "You've been given a second chance, and as your Chancellor, it is my hope that you see this as not only a chance for you, but a chance for all of us, indeed for mankind itself."
She frowns at Jaha's words, not really understanding how it's a second chance when he's sending them to a radioactive planet that's been uninhabitable for nearly a hundred years. Yet they call her a psychopath. Ainsley can't help but see the humor in it, as she scoffs.
"We have no idea what's waiting for you down there," Jaha continues. "If the odds of survival were better, we would've sent others. Frankly, we're sending you because your crimes have made you expendable."
"Oh, for the love of God and all that is holy, really? Does he actually believe this bullshit?" Ainsley scoffs, letting out a bitter chuckle. "Me, I can see it. Others? Not so much."
A few heads turn her way, but they are quickly drawn away by a guy yelling further down the dropship.
"Your dad's a dick Wells!"
Wells.. Wells Jaha? Wow. Seems like the Chancellor himself sent his own son to die. Ainsley isn't surprised that one sentence is enough to send the delinquents into a fit of laughter.
Ainsley shakes her head, and goes back to brooding. Her eyes sweep over the delinquents, before looking back up at the screen. The Chancellor's face causes her to roll her eyes again. He really seemed to believe the bullshit coming out of his own mouth. It infuriates her, and she doesn't even know why.

"Those crimes will be forgiven," Jaha continues after a pause. "Your records wiped clean. The drop site has been chosen carefully. Before the last war, Mount Weather was a military base built within a mountain. It was to be stocked with enough non-perishables to sustain three hundred people for up to two years."
"Spacewalk Bandit strikes again!"
"Woo!"
"Go Finn!"
The shouts coming from various delinquents causes Ainsley's head to abruptly spin in their direction. Her eyes land on who she assumes must be Finn, the space walk Bandit, who is currently hovering in the air. It's stupid of him, to be doing something so reckless. Even she, who had been locked up for five years, knows exactly what will happen when they reach the Earth's atmosphere.
He will slam against the wall. The force of the impact probably killing him on the spot if he's lucky. If he's not, well, he will suffer before he dies. Either way, the end result will be the same. Ainsley can't help but be curious about what will happen to him after he's dead. Is there an afterlife, or would who he is never have mattered at all?
Finn floats towards the Chancellor's son himself, Wells Jaha, and a blonde girl Ainsley doesn't actually remember. Unfortunately, Ainsley can't hear the few short words that were spoken, but judging by the expression on Wells' face, it isn't pleasant. Finn is smiling, almost tauntingly, his eyes darting between Wells and the blonde with ease.
"Stay in your seats!" The girl exclaims in the direction of two young boys who thought it would be alright to float around like Finn is.
The boys ignore the blonde's advice, and almost immediately following, the turbulence starts. It rocks the dropship with such ferocity that Ainsley is already preparing for death. That doesn't stop her from gripping her seat so tight her knuckles are turning white. The screams of the other delinquent fill her ears along with the slamming of bodies against the wall. Her heart beat so loud that Ainsley's afraid of it exploding out her chest.
The crash jerks Ainsley's head so fiercely that it slams into the boy beside her, the pain enough to make both of them hiss and curse. His head jerks away from hers almost immediately as if he'd been burned, after realizing who she actually is, before he leans far enough away from her and closer to his friend. A deranged scoff escapes her lips. It doesn't take her long to be drawn to the bodies on the ground of the boys who wouldn't listen to the girl. Ainsley morbidly wonders if it would be frowned upon to study them, but figures most-likely it would be so she doesn't.
Ainsley's seat belt retracts by itself. Ignoring the pang in her head, she stands from her seat and follows the moving delinquents towards the ladder to get to the lower level. Time to see if the remainder of the delinquents would die from radiation, or if this truly is their second chance. Ainsley climbs down the ladder as quickly as she can, and pushes her way to the front of the crowd growing by the doors. Ainsley ignores the whispers surrounding her appearance. It's only a matter of time before they decide she doesn't belong.
"Stop! The air could be toxic," the blonde from earlier shouts, doing the same as Ainsley pushing herself to the front.
"If the air is toxic, we're all dead anyway," the man states. He's wearing a guards uniform, but Ainsley doesn't remember ever seeing him on the Ark.
"Bellamy?" A dark haired girl pushes her way to the front, confusion and awe lacing her features as she approaches him. It's like caution drifted out in the wind when she rushes forward and places her arms around him, his doing the same.
"My God, look how big you are." Bellamy smiles affectionately.
"What the hell are you wearing?" The girl takes a tiny step backwards, her nose scrunching up in disgust as she looks over his clothing choice in disdain. "A guard's uniform?"
"I borrowed it." Bellamy reassures her. "To get on the dropship. Someone has to look out for you."
Ainsley watches the scene with only mild interest. To be perfectly honest, all she wants is those doors to open. To finally know whether they all will end up like the boys upstairs, or if they'll live.
"Where's your wristband?" The blonde demands towards Bellamy.
"Do you mind?" The girl standing next to Bellamy glances at the blonde in annoyance. "I haven't seen my brother in a year."
"No one has a brother!"
"That's Octavia Blake! The girl they found hidden under the floor!"
Ainsley whistles slowly as Octavia tries to lunge forward to get to whoever said that, her face red in anger. In all honesty, Ainsley hopes to see a fight. It doesn't come to one, because Bellamy doesn't let it. He holds Octavia back from the crowd. Bellamy, in not so many words, tells Octavia that they'll give the delinquents something else to remember her by.
About how grand it'll be to be remembered as the first person on the ground in a hundred years. Ainsley probably should just stay silent, to just watch everything unfold without giving the delinquents any other incentive to not trust her, but where would the fun in that be? Besides, she doesn't exactly know how to keep quiet. Being in the sky box with nobody but herself to talk to, well, she can't stop herself from talking now.
"It's ninety-seven, actually," Ainsley says, loud enough for all the delinquents to hear. The ones closest to her took a step backwards, leaving just her and the blonde in front of the Blake siblings. The whispers started again, though this time about her, and realization dawned on Octavia. Ainsley could see it in her face. The glare is wiped off and replaced by apprehension.
Bellamy stares at Ainsley, albeit a bit confused. He can't understand how she could be as insane as others on the Ark have said. He looks over her facial features for only a fraction of a second to be more inconspicuous, and shakes his head. She looks seemingly normal. Her soft features give off an appearance of innocence, one that even reminds him of Octavia. This is a problem he'll have to address soon, but not now. For now, he reaches his hand up to the lever, and pulls.
The doors to the dropship open slower than Ainsley would like, and she has to put her hands over her eyes to block the onslaught of the sun's violent rays. Once she doesn't have pink dots lining her vision, she takes her first look at their new planet. It's green. The most vibrant shade of green she has ever seen. The sky's the most beautiful shade of blue with white clouds at various intervals throughout the sky. She's pulled away from looking at the trees, when Octavia begins making her way down the platform. One foot plants firmly into the dirt below, followed quickly by her other foot. Octavia holds her arms out in a 'welcome home' gesture, taking in a deep breath.
"We're back, bitches!"
This is all that's needed for the delinquents to cheer and scream and race off the dropship, and around the vivid forest. All except for Ainsley. Instead of cheering around like a lunatic, she simply moves to the edge of the platform and sits down. She's filled with a nameless dread as she watches them run around in absolute glee.
How long will it take before they cast her aside like she's nothing? It's the only thing that keeps her from enjoying the new world around them. Ainsley can already tell Earth is going to be a lot more pain than it's worth.
What if, after all these years spent alone, she is as insane as everyone thinks she is? The years have not been kind. Her life has never been kind. So why the hell would it start now?

So you're mildly interested in The 100 but it's garbage and you just want the goods of fanfic?
said no one ever. but here we go
Cheater article
1900s : Mount Weather Emergency Operations center is constructed in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the United States as a military bunker.
2051 : Scientist Dr. Becca Franco, created an AI A.L.I.E. (Applied Lucent Intelligence Emulator), but turns out the AI is a eugenicist and subscribes to the thought of overpopulation, and that the greatest threats to humans (the mystery she was created to solve) is humans. Franco shuts that shit down. She retreats to her personal space station, Polaris, to continue studying, where she created a new A.I. dubbed A.L.I.E. 2 (and only compatible with a special blood compound she also created, called nightblood)
2052 : A.L.I.E. launches a worldwide nuclear strike to “save the human race” due to its calculation that there were “too many people.” She set out to solve the world’s overpopulation problem by eliminating enough of the human race to save the rest.
2054 : October 1st, the first Unity Day. 13 separate space stations from 12 separate nations (plus Franco’s) are trying to ride out the apocalypse that’s happening on the surface. The 12 stations are way too sus about Franco and how she made ALIE and Alpha Station shoots Polaris down. With her fall, the remaining 12 join as one and create The Ark - the supposed last bastion of human survivors.
PYSCH. Franco didn’t die with the rest of her station, she jettisoned in a little pod, shot up with Nightblood and having shoved ALIE 2.0 into the back of her neck at her brain stem (ALIE 2 being an implanted AI to better understand human emotions, unlike its predecessor who was a stand alone AI). She crashes to earth with the rest of the superhuman blood- i mean, nightblood, and tries to help the ppl who survived on the surface (everyone in space thought everyone else died). Her story becomes the legend of the First Commander and her technology becomes the foundation of the Grounder society, with the Nighblood passing through Grounders. A.L.I.E. 2.0 becomes "The Flame," a chip passed down and implanted through the generations of Grounder leaders called Commanders, which contains the memories of all Commanders before them.
2100-2149 : On the Ark, Abigail Griffin, Marcus Kane, Thelonius Jaha, Charles Pike are born and live in humanity's post-apocalyptic society in space.
The generation below them also grows up on the Ark, including Clarke Griffin, Bellamy and Octavia Blake, Monty Green, Raven Reyes, John Murphy, Jasper Jordan, Harper McIntyre, Finn Collins, Nathan Miller, and Wells Jaha, all of whom will make their way to Earth at the start of the series with the Delinquents.
On Earth, the Grounders become the descendants of Earth's human survivors, developing new languages, faith, and customs foreign to the pre-apocalypse world. 12 Grounder Clans emerge, as well as societies of nomadic grounders.
OK done with the condensed and relevant version of that article, now to the important plot.
Clarke is MC
Mom: Abby, head of medical clinic
Dad: Jake, head of engineering or smn
Chancellor: Thelonius Jaha
Wells: Chancellor’s son, clarke’s bff
Because they’re all part of the Elite Alpha Station, they don’t get a lot of acceptance from the others that are essentially considered lower class by default, so they tend to band together very clichishly
There are limited resources on the Ark, obvs, so shit like one kid only rule, food rations, recycling of  goods (like clothes), etc. That also means that all “crimes” are super detrimental and get you floated… into space. Death penalty style. Unless you’re a minor, then you get incarcerated until you’re 18 when you go through a revision and maybe you’re let back into populace or maybe they float you anyway
So
Jake finds out the Ark’s oxygen scrubbing system is in catastrophic failure. Like not just a little glitch but full failing. And there’s nowhere to run in space, so he tells Abby and suggests they tell everyone so everyone can be in on the decision of what to do moving forward. Abby is hesitant, and they bring it up to Jaha (Thelonius is Jaha, Wells is Wells) who immediately shoots it down - mass panic and all that. Jake still presses that they should Let The People Know and while that who whatever is going down, Clarke hears her dad talking about it. She stresses over it, confides in Wells about it, and then her father is floated for treason (recording a video he intended to release to the public about the failure). She is 17 and so they toss her in the Skybox (juvy) but gen pop gets visitation with the outside, so they put her in solitary for the rest of her sentence so she can’t blab.
Just before her 18th (revision hearing anticipated), guards bust in and haul her out. She flips, thinking they’re floating her early, probably starting in the Skybox to save on oxygen. But no, she sees her mom for a sec and she explains they’re sending down the kids in a dropship to test if earth is safe. It’s not projected to be for another few generations, but clarke knows there’s a time crunch. she knows the real why. They zap her and she wakes up on the dropship, descent already starting, and there’s… Wells? Goody Two Shoes Chancellor’s Son? the only other person she told about her dad. wtf yanno. He confesses to her he got arrested to get sent down on the Dropship with her. ok but didn’t you sell out her dad? Question Mark?
They have monitoring cuffs to relay their vitals to the Ark to see just how toxic earth is now. There’s supposed to be a radio but it gets fried in the rough landing. They go out and WOW EARTH! But they were supposed to be dropped on Mount Weather, uninhabited maybe, but should still be stocked with pre-war goodies. they’re also horny, stupid, delinquent teens so they just start dicking around and taking off their wristbands (fuck the Ark, they don’t get to know about us, they sent us on a suicide mission) and clarke is like. Hello? The Ark is dying. Pissbaby (Bellamy Blake) is like so what. Whatever the hell we want. And clarke is like uhhhhh do you know farming like the aptly named Farm Station? Do you know medicine? Tell me what you do know. Oh right, you were training to be a guard to keep your sister (a second child *gasp*) safe, you both got caught, she was iced, you got demoted to a janitor, and then the head of the guards was like “shoot jaha and i’ll get you on that dropship” and so you did. What a Big Bad Boy. boring. But he knows how to appeal to the rest of the delinquents, and so he’s effective.
So they try to actually survive (food, water, shelter, under clarke’s direction mostly) because maybe they don’t hate everyone on the Ark. clarke gets some of them to head out towards mount weather, just to see what they could benefit from. but on their way there, one of them gets speared. Holy shit there are people living on the ground! And then the rest of them get their ass in gear and try to actually survive. people start dying, surprise surprise, they get panicked by the threat of people already established on the land they were told was their birthright and by the fact that they’re woefully underprepared. also Super Charming Space Walker Finn is hitting on clarke and she’s kinda into it because wow. hormones. there’s also this acid fog that rolls through sometimes and boils the skin off their bones.
One time, she’s running from it with Finn and Wells and they find an old, mostly buried car to hide out in.
Canonically, she hops in with them to flirt and brood and drink.
Canonically, she goes with them back to the rest of the delinquents and the Dropship.
Canonically, she is Skaikru (the Grounder word for People Of The Sky) and is treated as such.
But also like. Canon is garbage anyway
And instead, we were gifted with KL Morgan
And KL Morgan gifted us with Destruction
And then for more canonical aus, we have KL Morgan (again ofc) with The Lay of the Looking Glass Land - it does take up further into canon so this blurb wouldn't be sufficient

The 100 Liveblogging pt2
Alright we are back
Episode 1x04 Murphy's Law
Alright recap, twelve year old girl Charlotte killed Wells, the only 100% good person (other than Monty) because Wells' dad the Chancellor Jaha was in charge when her parents were executed. It was stupid as hell
Clarke is gonna trick her mom Abby into thinking she's dead by taking off her medical tracking bracelet. Harsh but I get it
Finally figured out who Abby looks like. Sutton Foster
Murphy really is the fucking worst. Like I know teenage boys are just like that I live with one but still
So they buried Wells and then found his fingers cut off? With Murphy's knife nearby. Like story wise it would make more sense for them to find Wells' body and the knife at the same time
They understandably think Murphy did iit
Okay look I will say the show is doing something interesting. We know Charlotte killed Wells but we've also grown to hate Murphy so much that we have to ask ourselves if we're cool with Murphy taking the fall. It's an interesting idea.
And then the rest of the 100 go all mob rule on him once again reminding me that I'm so happy I'm not a teenager anymore
Also the 100 are terrible at chanting
WHY IS FINN THE VOICE OF REASON NOW?!?!?!
Charlotte confesses while Murphy is in the process of being hanged this can't possibly go wrong
"I was just trying to slay my demons like you told me!" Charlotte......you are 12 years old you know that's not what he meant
"Go float yourself" instead of go fuck yourself, cowards, cowards all of you!!!
Finn and Clarke ran off with Charlotte, smart choice
Charlotte tried to hold Clarke's hand and she slapped her away lol
Raven: Abby I tried to trade for this part on the black market but couldn't get it. Abby: I've got this. The less you know the better *proceeds to do exactly what Raven did*
This child actress is trying so hard to cry and she can't and I feel bad pointing that out but it's so noticeable
Man, Clarke and Finn if you stopped being domestic for one second you would notice that Charlotte ran off and Bellamy found her
Bellamy clearly trying to save Charlotte because he can't as easily save Octavia anymore....good bit
Wow Abby, the black market merchant turned you in to save their own skin? Wow!
So the plan is to send Raven to Earth instead of Raven and Abby....what could possibly go wrong?
Ooooooh spooky cliff
Murphy was literally covered head to toe in blood four hours ago and is totally fine now
Charlotte jumped off a cliff as a self sacrifice??? I guess thats what it is??? Just like full skydiving pose and everything??
I dont agree with all the politics the characters of the 100 consider but I do think it's very interesting to watch these teens grapple with those politics. Like no it's not full philosophical debates but it's fun to watch nonetheless.
Aaaaaaand Clarke and Finn are having sex
Final Rating: 7.75/10
This was the first episode so far to question what rules make a society and its interesting to watch these scared teens grapple with that. For as much as I mock this show its at least trying something I can't say a lot of these CW shows try. Honestly yeah best episode so far.

the ground, that’s the dream.     this is reality.     reality sucks.
tws:     mentions of alcoholism, mentions of drug addiction, blood, gore, murder, torture
Tumblr media
basics.
aliases:     care, blondie, prisoner 307, karolin kom skaikru, karolin kom speiskru
age:     17 - 23 (physically), 149 (biologically)
date of birth:     october 10, 2131
parents:     elizabeth ‘liz’ forbes (deceased, s4) and william ‘bill’ forbes (deceased, s1)
crime:     caught with painkillers hidden under her pillow during a random room inspection
skills:     distraction, guns, knives, archery
affiliation:     ark (formerly), delinquents (formerly), skaikru (formerly), speiskru (currently)
guard elizabeth and councilman bill forbes’s marriage was far from perfect.     maybe it had been at some point, but as years passed and they grew old in a glorified tin can floating in space, they also grew apart.     the only thing that kept them together - other than the fact neither were interested in going through the long process of getting a divorce - was their daughter, caroline.     with sparkling blue eyes, long blonde hair and a captivating smile, she had both of her parents wrapped around her finger ever since she came out of the womb.     sure, she was a handful.     pretty little girl from alpha station, whose parents worked important jobs and spoke to important people, caroline wasn’t the nicest girl on the ark.     but she did love with all of her heart, and oh how did it hurt when her own parents broke it.
her life began spiraling out of control when her father began drinking.     at first, it was barely noticeable.     just an extra tint of pink on his cheeks or a dazed glint in his eyes.     but it quickly was replaced by the stench of alcohol that seemed to stick to him like a second skin.     his behavior changed, too.     gone was the focused and well-opinionated member of the council, replaced by a man who arrived late to meetings, tripping over his own feet and nursing a flash without a hint of shame.     about a week after this happened for the third time, bill got home and announced he was removed from the council.     the very next day, his wife took his spot.
from then on, it only got worse.     caroline saw too much of her drunk of a father, and too little of her workaholic mother.     she threw herself into her studies and spent a lot of time with her friends, because being home was simply not an option.     by being absent, she didn’t notice her father had developed a new addiction.     so when, during an unscheduled room inspection, a guard pulled a bottle of painkillers from under her pillow, caroline couldn’t fathom how it’d ended up there in the first place.     all she knew was that she wasn’t the one who stole and hid it.     she kicked and cried as the guards all but dragged her out of the quarters, screaming that she was innocent and didn’t know who the pills belonged to, but her protests fell on deaf ears.     she was thrown into a cold, dark cell and was forced to wait six months for her eighteenth birthday, when she’d be put on trail to see if she could be pardoned or not.     she knew she wouldn’t be.     the council was floating people from smaller crimes than stealing medication.     she’d die in six months because she was guilty.     guilty of a crime she didn’t commit.
what caroline didn’t know, however, was that during the time she spent in her tiny cell, her father - the one who hid the bottle under his own daughter’s pillow - tried to change chancellor jaha’s mind.     he hoped he’d be able to sway his old friend into pardoning caroline.     it worked... sort of.     five days after bill’s last conversation with jaha and a little over a month before her eighteenth birthday, caroline was sent to earth with the delinquents.

the 100 [ bellamy blake x reader ]
Tumblr media
type : angsty, maybe a bit fluffy?
tropes: forced proximity, best friends to lovers
warnings: mentions of anxiety, heavy language, lowkey manipulative bellamy
in which bellamy blake and reader used to date but when he spiraled after octavia was arrested and his life fell apart, he distanced himself from her. after he begs her to trust him blindly and she does, they have to figure out their relationship on earth as neither of them is able to let it go.
a/n: hii, this is my first piece of writing in a loooong long time but i’m really enjoying the 100 again and i’ve noticed a severe lack of bellamy content on here, so i hope you like it! i don’t think i used any pronouns but i did use the term “girl” multiple times to describe reader! w.c.: 4.831
after octavia was discovered, he lost his job and his mum was floated, bellamy fell into a terrifying rabbit hole of depression. he lost himself with everything else in his life and instead of holding on to you, he wanted you to do better than him; so he ignored you. of course it made everything worse than it already was but it helped to tell himself he was actually saving you, despite seeing you fall apart piece by piece for months. he knew you'd get it together at some point, you had a great life going for you and he didn't want to risk you losing it at anytime soon, especially not because of him.
so when commander shumway approached bellamy and asked him to assassinate chancellor jaha in return of being able to go to earth with his sister and he said yes with barely any hesitation, he couldn't help but think about you, the girl he was so deeply in love with.
so now, bellamy was close to sprinting across the hall, giving his all to reach your door as fast as he could. he was going to earth, he had already shot the chancellor, but he couldn't leave you behind, no matter how hard he tried, not even after all those months of breaking your heart.
but just because he broke your heart that didn't mean he didn't love you the entire time.
you had taken the day off of guard duty, not feeling well as your three year anniversary with bellamy was approaching or, well, it would've if he hadn't abandoned you a few months ago.
although you tried your hardest to get it together, especially because you didn't want to risk your job as a guard on the ark, you couldn't just forget about bellamy. you had never loved anyone like him and no one had ever hurt you like he had.
there was aggressive knocking on the door, startling you immediately. you sighed frustratedly, there was no one who'd have time, or even want to, visit you in the middle of the day. especially not that desperately, since whoever was disturbing your peace got more and more aggressive with each knock.
you opened the door and before you could say anything, you were pushed into your room by a strong, all too familiar man. not being able to comprehend, you simply stared at the tan man in front of you, admiring his freckled face you had missed so much.
"bellamy? wha-", he cut you off, shaking his head frantically.
"look, y/n, this has gotta be really weird for you right now, but we have to leave. like, now. you have to come with me, okay?", although he was clearly stressed, there was a softness to be noticed in his voice that you knew all too well. you also recognized that he wasn't exactly asking you to come with him, he was telling you to.
"bellamy, what do you mean? you can't just come here and, and.. bellamy i don't understand! why are you wearing a guard’s uniform?", you rambled, looking at him more than desperate for answers. you knew that you would follow him anywhere but you didn't want to. you shouldn't after what he did to you.
he sighed, looking around nervously before taking a deep breath in and putting his hands on your cheeks. he held your face in his hands, pulling you a bit closer to him as he looked into your eyes.
"y/n, i beg you, you have to trust me, okay? i know i haven't been the best.. the best to you but if there's one thing you can do for me, even if it's the last time you ever help me out again, i need it to be today, right now", he noticed your big eyes, only now realizing that this might not work out and it scared him, terrified him even. "y/n..y/n, baby please. i'm begging you, begging. we don't have time, we need to go, please trust me, please y/n!"
"okay, bell."
you could tell how much this relieved him immediately and right as a little smile started showing, he pulled you out of your room, swiftly grabbing your necklace you always kept next to your keys and dragged you through the ark. it felt like you were running through the entire space station and when you finally slowed down, bellamy didn't give you a single second to ask questions.
he just motioned to you to be silent as he carefully pushed you towards something you recognized to be a dropship. your eyes widened in panic, what the hell was going on here.
"bellamy, serious-", he simply covered your mouth and shoved you into the dropship before closing the door. as panic overtook you and your breathing got heavier, your perception lessened. without bellamy pushing you around and doing whatever you needed to do for you, you wouldn't have gotten anything done.
you were clearly having a panic attack and while it hurt bellamy to not be able to help you get through right now, he had to prioritize your safety during the travel to earth and before you knew it, you passed out.
{ ~* }
you felt soft taps on your shoulder as you slowly regained consciousness. slowly raising your head before finally opening your eyes and looking around. you were still in the dropship but you were all by yourself, no sight of bellamy. of course.
the person who'd been trying to wake you was a boy you recognized as wells jaha, the chancellor's son. he looked at you, relief basically written all over him as you finally reacted to his attempts of waking you up. "i'm so glad you're awake, i almost thought you wouldn't wake up again. wait, let me help you out."
he started to unbuckle you, holding you up as you were still a bit weak from your intense panic attack. he could tell how confused you were immediately.
"i'm wells, you're a guard, right? why'd they send you to earth with us?", wells questioned as your eyes widened.
"earth?!", you repeated immediately, not believing what you heard and completely ignoring his question. you couldn't be on earth, it wasn't even going to be habitable for the next three generations so how could you be on earth now, alive?!
wells didn't really know how to react, he had expected you to know but you were just as, probably even more clueless than the delinquents. he decided not to engage in any more conversation, respecting your space as he figured you'd want some time to cope, as well as recovering from whatever made you pass out.
you were thankful for being left alone, slowly standing up and once you felt stable enough to walk to the hatch, you followed the ladder down. immediately you were met with the most beautiful sight you've ever seen.
tall trees, their roots covered in beautiful, bright green plants and, of course, many people all around the area.
you didn't care about them though, the only person you wanted to find was bellamy, he had to explain himself. what was he thinking, taking you to earth without even telling you?!
luckily, it didn't take you long to find him. he was talking to a girl much shorter than him; she had dark brown hair and bright blue eyes and although you hadn't seen her that well the last time, the day she was arrested, you were certain it was bellamy's little sister octavia.
you walked over to them, careful not to overestimate your strength yet and once bellamy noticed you, he got tense immediately.
"y/n, how are you?", he spoke up, seemingly interrupting octavia who simply looked at you curiously. while she had never really met you, she knew so much about you. everytime bellamy told her a story to fall asleep to, it was always about princess y/n and once she got older, he finally revealed that you were actually his girlfriend. she loved what she'd heard so far but she decided to lay low, not wanting to interrupt the two of you.
"i'm good. bellamy, what the fuck is going on, are we really on earth? you have to-", he sighed loudly before cutting you off. "i'm glad you're feeling good. you shouldn't stress yourself too much, you're probably still a bit weak, okay? enjoy earth."
the usual softness in his voice was all gone, leaving nothing, but unfamiliar coldness as he walked off. what the fuck was his problem.
"i should've known that he'd leave me again, why did i fucking come", you mumbled angrily. you really had every right to be angry at bellamy, but if you were being honest, you were probably way more disappointed than angered by the man who once loved you as much as you love him.
octavia looked at you confusedly, not being able to follow at all. "what do you mean again, you're y/n, his girlfriend y/n right?"
"i don't even know what i am to him anymore", you answered, feeling tears shoot up to your eyes. no, you couldn't cry about him anymore, you had wasted too many tears on his egoistic ass.
octavia's eyes softened, similarly to how bellamy's used to. she walked up to you and hugged you carefully, not wanting to disrespect your personal space beyond your liking. you hugged her back, appreciating her sympathy a lot and although you kinda didn't want to spend time with bellamy's younger sister, you didn't want to punish her for something out of her power. she had dealt with that too much already.
"my brother can be a real ass sometimes but he'll get over it, i think i know how much he loves you", she spoke softly, smiling at you. you smiled back at her but realized that she really had no clue how over the two of you were.
{ ~* }
days on days passed and not a single interaction between bellamy and you happened. you wanted to talk to him so desperately but whenever you approached him, he'd find a way to get away from you as soon as possible. it felt like you were back on the ark, trying to understand why your boyfriend of two years was suddenly ignoring and avoiding you.
you wanted to fight for his attention, you really tried to but when he set up a knife fight between john murphy and wells, you figured that you had to say goodbye to the idea of ever getting anything positive out of a conversation with him. the bellamy you once loved was probably gone for good and whatever egoistic, violent leader he had become now, was no one you wanted around you.
this time, you really had to get over him.
it honestly made you sick to watch him act like the born leader of the delinquents and it was almost worse to see them follow him blindly. he was leading them to do horrible things, he was clearly motivating their aggression and allowed them all to be terrible to each other.
of course you were angry, but it also confused you a lot. bellamy really terrified you, he was going down a path you couldn't follow and he wasn't anything like he used to be back in the ark, back when he was still your bellamy.
he used to be sweet, loving and caring but now it was so obvious that he was using the 100 delinquents to reach his own goal, you just couldn't figure out what goal that could be. another thing you were pretty confused about, was the fact he took you with him. when he begged you to come with him, he was so different. it almost felt like he loved you again, you were embarrassed to admit that you thought things would get better now, that everything would be like it was back then and you knew that you deserved better, no one, not even john murphy deserved to be treated like bellamy had treated you that past year. still, you just couldn't let him go, so you decided it was time for some distraction.
while you really enjoyed spending time with clarke, learning a bit from her medical knowledge, as well as simply making a new friend, you needed more. literally, you had no one besides bellamy, octavia and clarke and you didn't actually have any of them. you needed to make friends.
deciding to go against bellamy's orders to stay with clarke, something he hadn't told you personally, instead sending one of his little minions your way, you left the drop ship in search for something else to do. you weren't gonna let him tell you what to do, not if he didn't even have the balls to talk to you himself.
right as you left the dropship, you immediately spotted a tall boy with funny googles on his head walking towards one of the gates and decided to approach him. you remembered his name, joshua, or jasper.
"hey jasper", you smiled at him and he immediately smiled back. "hey y/n, i'm just heading out for the hunt."
you raised your eyebrow. hunt? that was perfect for you. not only did you ace pike's earth skills class, but you were also a trained guard. of all the people in your camp, it was safe to assume that you'd be the best at it.
"can i come too? i think i'd be a lot of help", you spoke nicely and without even thinking about it, jasper nodded. his smile grew as he was more than willing to spend some more time with you.
"i'm sure bellamy won't mind", he said and although you really didn't want to be around bellamy for once, it upset you even more that he couldn't even ask you to go with them. he knew just as well as you did that they needed you and that you were the best shot they had, probably even better than him since you actually finished your guard training.
you followed jasper out of the walls, stopping right outside as you joined the rest of the hunting trip. there were about seven unknown faces and of course bellamy’s. as soon as he saw you, he tensed up, leaving you to sigh annoyingly and roll your eyes.
"y/n get back inside the walls, it's not safe outside", he said, voice stern, motioning for you to turn around and go. you immediately shook your head.
"i'm gonna come with you guys, i'm literally your best shot and you won't even notice me, i'll be with jasper the entire time", you complained. he knew you wouldn't change your mind but he wouldn't risk your safety. bellamy trusted jasper but not with you, he trusted no one when it came to you. no one, not even yourself, would protect you as well as he would and although he had been avoiding you for days now, expecting to keep going until he knew you'd gotten over him completely, he had to be the one going with you.
"yea no, you're either coming with me or not at all, y/n. this is your first time outside the walls and i wanna make sure you find your way back home, alright?! however, if you don't want to go with me that's fine. stay back and help clarke then. got it?!", he was convinced he'd make you change your mind.
"fuck you, bellamy. really, let's just go already", you were angry. he was treating you like a complete stranger and you actually felt a bit embarrassed in front of the other people. what was he thinking talking to you like that in front of so many of the others, it was unnecessary.
he was caught by surprise by your response, less because of your words, but way more because you actually chose to come with them. he was so sure you would never want to be alone with him after all he had done but this just proved that it wasn't enough yet.
he should've known better than to expect you to just stop loving him that easily. hell, how could you get over him, if he couldn't even go a single hour without thinking about you.
"okay then", bellamy said before everyone split up and went into different directions. you followed him, making sure you stayed behind.
"you know damn well that i'd be a great help. should've gotten your shit together and asked me", you mumbled and although he heard what you said, he decided not to respond.
you two were walking for a pretty long time, killing some birds on your way. obviously that wouldn't be enough for the entire camp to eat so you kept going. there wasn't much talking done either, you were able to work together without speaking, you had always been able to.
of course it was awkward, but it went fine until a loud sound rang through the woods. bellamy turned to you immediately, eyes wide as he grabbed your wrist and started running. despite having never left the camp, you knew that this was an alarm to warn about the yellow fog that was incredibly toxic and even deadly.
the two of you ran as fast as you could until bellamy noticed something in the ground that looked like a door to a bunker. he immediately pushed you in front of him and told you to go in, following closely as he rushed to close the door before the fog could get you. bellamy turned on his flashlight while your breath was shaky as you put a hand up to your heart. your athleticism wasn't an issue, your anxiety however was.
"y/n, are you okay?", bellamy asked softly as approached you, reaching for your shoulder but before he could touch you, you backed away.
"bellamy stop, stop doing this", he looked at you with a questioning expression on his face. "you know what i mean."
he simply shook his head, lowering it before quietly saying "i'm sorry, y/n, but i really don't. i just wanna make sure you're okay."
you huffed, did he even believe his own words? you were annoyed by his obliviousness and slid down the wall, he did the same oppositely from you.
neither of you said anything for some time but with every minute that passed, you feared that he would leave the bunker at the first chance he'd get, ruining your only opportunity to have the conversation you've been wanting to have for almost a year now.
"look, bellamy.. i just don't understand how you could do what you did. you're confusing me", you explained quietly, not wanting to look at him yet.
"i know, i don't understand either", he spoke back and as your eyes met, you could tell he wasn't lying. "i was angry, angry at everyone, even you. and i know that it wasn't fair, i wasn't treating you how i should have but when i lost everything, i was ashamed. you deserved better than that and i knew you wouldn't just let me go."
"literally what were you thinking?!  i was with you through any hardships you ever had to go through. what made you assume id just leave you, what made you think that after two years with you, i'd just abandon you. what for?! having a sister? i'm not the fucking council, you should know me better than that", you were angry but you didn't want to yell at him, you wanted this to work.
he sighed, he didn't know what to tell you. of course you were right, he fully agreed but what good would him agreeing do?
"talk to me, bellamy", you basically begged.
"i'm sorry, y/n. i have never regretted anything as much as breaking your heart. you were on my mind every single day", he said truthfully, not being able to look into your eyes as he spoke until he lifted his head. "if i could turn back time, i would. i am so sorry for ruining what we had."
you stared into his eyes, giving yourself time to think about what he just told you. you'd do anything to go back to how things were, you missed bellamy so much.
"me too", you then admitted. "you know, it would've been our three year anniversary a few days ago", you said and laughed slightly. bellamy smiled at you, oh how he had missed your laugh.
"i know", he said and reached into his pocket. "i didn't get you anything new and i know that i can't just regift something i already gave you years ago but i grabbed this when i asked you to come with me and i just.. didn't have time to give it to you yet."
you listened curiously, watching him pull out a silver necklace he once gave you. your mouth and eyes widened in excitement, it was your favourite piece of jewelry ever since you'd gotten it, but when you realized you didn't have it on you, you were sure you'd never see it again and it made you incredibly sad.
"oh my god, you took it with you? thank you so much, bellamy! i was missing it already", you admitted, excitement lacing your voice. he smiled again and handed you your necklace you put on immediately.
you smiled down at yourself, carefully grabbing the star charm.
"i missed seeing you like this, you are so beautiful, y/n", bellamy spoke quietly, you simply halted in your movement. your eyebrows were raised slightly as you looked at him, what was he doing?
"y/n, i know that i don't deserve your forgiveness, fuck, i don't even deserve you! but please, i'm begging you to forgive me for what i did. i don't expect it to be easy, but-"
"why did you ask me to come with you, bell?", you interrupted him. it took him a second before he chuckled and looked to the side, then focusing on you again.
"i spent so many months ignoring you, thinking i was making things so much better when i actually ruined us. i already told you that i thought about you every single day and i knew i wouldn't survive to go down here without you", he explained. "i know that it was incredibly selfish of me to bring you here and at first i didn't want to because i didn't want to expose you to all these dangers earth might bring. i wanted you to do better than me, that's why i distanced myself from you, but i was a fool to think this would work. the hold you have on me and my life is actually insane, y/n. when i had the opportunity to protect my sister and to take you down with me, i just-"
"wait, bellamy, why are you even here in the first place", you questioned. there was no way you wouldn't know about his mission but a janitor did.
his expression changed immediately, his jaw tensed and you could tell how scared he was to tell you, but he also didn't want to lie to you. not right now, not apart of this conversation.
"y/n, i messed up, okay.. i did things i regret and leaving you wasn't my only mistake, but i couldn't let my sister go to earth unprotected, alright? i had to make sure she was safe", he rambled immediately, panic lacing his voice. you on the other hand, only got more suspicious of him. "i shot chancellor jaha on shumway's request."
your eyes widened in shook, you couldn't believe what you just heard. "what, i-"
you wanted to be upset at him so bad but something in you couldn't. "is he.."
"i don't know, that was the goal", he answered quietly, not daring to look up.
"oh my god, bellamy! are you kidding me, you can't just shoot the chancellor, you can't shoot anybody actually!"
"y/n, i know, please. i know that i messed up but i can't change it anymore", he sighed before running his hand through his hair. by now, it was finally curly and loose again and you couldn't help but notice how good he looked. but that wasn't the point, not at all.
"do you though? you changed, bellamy. you have become someone i don't recognize, whats gotten into you?!", you got up from the ground, looking around helplessly. "first you shoot the chancellor and then you lead these kids in the aggressive way you do. do you even notice what you're creating?", at this point you were yelling, you didn't care anymore.
"y/n don't yell at me", he said but you just shook your head. he got up and approached you but you backed away like earlier.
"for fucks sake, stop telling me what to do! you're not my leader, if anything, you're my boyfriend, or ex boyfriend. hell, i don't even know what we are because you didn't have the fucking balls to actually break up with me before being an asshole. i have every right to yell at you", you hissed and you could see how much your words hurt him but bellamy wasn't gonna stay quiet this time.
"i never broke up with you because i didn't fucking want to. i didn't treat you like it but fuck, y/n i love you", he was raising his voice as well now.
"loved, you loved me, you don't anymore", you said and it seemed like this time, you went too far.
"shut the fuck up, y/n. don't say shit like that, don't disrespect me like that", he yelled at you, knowing full well that your disrespect wasn't even comparable to what he put you through. "don't accuse me of not loving you because i could never stop loving you. there wasn't a single day in the past five years where i didn't love you and you know that this is true, we both do!"
you bit your lip as you tried to calm yourself. the adrenaline was overwhelming at this point but still you somehow knew that he was right. you believed him.
"and you don't have to forgive me for what i did and for the way i'm leading these kids but you know damn well that i'd do anything for you and that i love you", his voice was softening again as he was calming down too. "and i know that you're not over me. you wouldn't have come with me, if you didn't love me at least a little bit."
you took a deep breath in, he was right. of course he was, but you couldn't just forgive and forget.
"y/n, baby, i'm not asking you to forget what i did, please don't. i just wanna know that i am right and that i still know you and most importantly; that i didn't ruin your life even more when i brought you down here", his voice got quieter and you could even hear it breaking towards the end of his sentence.
"yes, bellamy i still love you", you simply admitted, sad eyes meeting his right before he pulled you into his arms.
you didn't resist because you needed this, it was what you'd been seeking for all these months.
bellamy was relieved that you still loved him. he didn't expect everything to magically be amazing again but he knew that he hadn't lost you yet. he still had a chance for redemption and he was going to fix things. he was going to be a better man for you.
his strong arms were wrapped around you tightly, holding you against his chest as he also enjoyed feeling your touch again.
"i love you so much, y/n. i'll fix everything, okay? i will never hurt you ever again and we can work through this, if you want to. i missed you so much, baby", he said. his hand was now holding your cheek as he looked into your glossy eyes.
you nodded, believing him again.
you were hoping that he was saying the truth, that he would never mess it up again. you just wanted to love him again, but you weren't stupid, things, he would have to change first.

i’ve always loved the line “who we are and who we need to be to survive are two very different things” when Bellamy says it to Clarke because I think it is so important, not just for the plot at the moment (aka them torturing Lincoln for information) but as a whole for them as leaders in the series.
the thing is bellamy knows the meaning of those words very well. he knows that who he was and who he and his mom had to be in order for octavia and them to stay alive are two very different things. clarke isn’t there yet, she didn’t have that history, she had a good childhood a loving dad, her best friend was the chancellor’s son. she never had to think about survival until she came down to earth.
but bellamy? he knows everything about it. he is aware how much he had to sacrifice in order for his sister to stay alive to the day they came down here and even his own coming down is tied to that same quote-he chose to shoot jaha, aka to be a different person from who he is in order to come down to earth and protect her and make sure she survived because he promised “my sister, my responsibility”.
he knows how rations had to be split, how a hole had to be made in the floor for her, how he had to take care of O and make sure she’s quiet while their mom worked extra shifts, how as a kid he had to hide a baby and make sure she’s never found during inspections.
he knows everything about sacrificing yourself in order to survive. he’s been hurt from it too when he made the wrong choice and his mom died, his first sin and he tried to make up for it afterwords. because i believe the reason he came down to earth wasn’t just Octavia, it was the promise he made to his mom and the guilt he felt when it comes to being the reason she died. i can even bet you that when he got into that dropship, he knew there was a risk of dying but he took it anyway because that’s how little regard he had of his own life.
back to the subject i love that quote and i think clarke, just like him, remembers their conversations well and keeps it in her heart, repeats it in different moments later on and perhaps it helps her push on.
i hope it did.

The 100 rewatch 2023 ep 1.07 Live Blog
Contents Under Pressure.
The clarke/raven/finn love triangle is so soapy. blech.
Oh. Storm is here. Raven is trying to reach the Ark Station. But through a hurricane so that's hard. Clarke is being so supportive and reassuring. (that's a real relationship. Princess Mechanic forever.)
Kane is listing Abby's crimes. All punishable by death. Kane is trying to ignore the radio signals. The council voted to save Abby. Kane is bitchy saying those flashes AREN'T evidence of the kids' survival and Abby gets kicked off the council.
THAT is a signal from Raven Reyes. OH it's station wide. LOL. Everyone in the Ark hears Raven saying The 100 are alive. Ha ha. The signal is coming from earth. Kane looks gutted.
Ah it's ClLARKE on the radio. Abby's voice cracks. Ope she just lets dropped the fact that they aren't alone and Finn got stabbed by a grounder. oops. Jaha asks about Wells. No sorry. Wells is dead. :(
Bitch. You sent him down there. Don't get all pissy Jaha.
Abby is breaking up. THERES A HURRICANE BABY. A huge one. Does that cover the entire south east? Monty's moonshine is used as treatment. Monty and Jasper and Bellamy are out in the storm. No they're back. They are dragging Lincoln. "Intel."
"This is not who we are," Clarke says.
"It is now," Bellamy says. And he's right actually. But it's not really a good thing.
Clarke the medic. Abby guiding her. That's nice. Oop. Tying Lincoln up. And here's Miller. Is this the first time we seeMiller?
Octavia is defnding Lincoln. He hit Lincoln for Finn and Jasper and John and Roma. Who are dead. Yes O he speaks English and Bellamy things he'll understand.
Jaha is morose an looking at memories of Wells. Again. You sent them down there. I have never liked Jaha since he said the kids were disposable. Sorry.
Oh what was that lady's name. Diana. Thanks Jaha. She's divisive. Her people are the workers. She used to be the Chancellor. My people. Your people. Sigh. "you've activated project exodus. congratulations. you will forever be remembered as the man who brought us back to the ground."
Well. No actually. He won't. There's no one to remember him for bringing the ark home. Because they are all dead and/or sucked up into a sparkly purple alien.
I missed all Diana's maneuvering because I was thinking about how pointless it all turned out to be. Stupid season 7.
Yeah yeah. Finn will die if she moves the knife a millimeter in the wrong direction.
Oh. he wakes up as she tries to take the knife out. Yipes. I bet the grounders were not as careful taking the spear out of Jasper's chest. Wait what happened? They all got knocked off their asses but the knife is out of his chest. And he's not dead yet. But he's giving Clarke the lovey dovey eyes right in front of Raven and that is just icky.
Bell trying to get Linocln to talk. Miller finds his antidotes. "Who knows with these people." Listen. Bellamy could EASILY have been Pike. I will forever declare that Clarke's influence kept him from being like that.
Finds Lincoln's journal with a drawing of O and hatchmarks of the 100 live and dead.
Abby wants to talk with Clarke. Clarke doesn't want to talke to her. She goes up to talk to Bellamy. Tells his goon to "get the hell out of my way." "If he didn't hate us before, he does now."
Relax princess. You know the narrative never puts the weight on that term that the fandom did.
Bellamy thinks they're fighting a way and Clarke things they're not soldiers. Bellamy thinks they can't win if they don't fight. Because Lincoln is intimidating.
Finn is seizing but i gotta say I don't care. The stakes mean nothing because we know he's fine in the end. Except for being an awful person who ends up murderous. So like. That does not draw me into the narrative in retrospect.
Kane walking through the people and having all of them being angry at him does, however, have narrative and character resonance. Surprisingly. Wow. Watching Kane alter his character before our eyes. Jaha is finally doing the right thing and telling the Ark the truth. General assembly. Oh wait. This is section 17 where everyone died. Kane came to the culling site to wallow in his guilt. "If I had waited a day, two days, they'd still be alive."
He knows it was him. He was so sure. He swore an oath to protect them and instead he killed them. (ACAB)
"Pull yourself together Kane, and then get your ass to the mess hall." Okay I don't hate Jaha ALL the time. He's like a midrange fav character for me. I suppose I like him better than Jasper (sorry Jasper fans.) If I look at it that way. L was a midrange fave, too. There are lots of characters I hated more.
Clarke has figured out that the knife was poisoned. They say he doesn't understand her but he does. She's trying to force him. Now she's begging. B is going to torture him to get the antidote. O wants to say this is not who we are. Ironic considering who she became. I do not like the character development of O through the whole series. Honestly. She mostly got worse. Seeing her now and she was way better in s1 even being a bratty kid.
Now they're hitting him. No. We do not like torture. Bellay. You do not like hitting him. Clarke begging again. But he won't so B has to hit him again. Aww. B touches Clarke's shoulder to get her out of the way.
This ep is pretty good honeslty.
Jaha telling the truth. He lied about the 100. Earth is survivable. The Ark is dying. He says the culling gifted the rest of them the time they need to go to the earth. But the people still think he's lying to cover up the culling. The dude says all those people died for nothing. But he literally just said that they gave them time to find a way to get to the ground. The dude is like you don't know how we feel.
I LOST MY SON!!!!
Jaha offers the open seat to Diana Sydney. What? No election? Bad idea. She's a scum bucket.
Back to the torture. Pain is not going to make Lincoln tell the antidote. Sorry Clarke. B is not hapy. Oh no. I forgot he shoved that thing through his hand. Yikes. He tries to get Clarke to leave. Ugh. Bad. That's bad. Ugh.
Oh i forgot about this. Raven without any compunctions. Shocks him with live wires. He screams for the first time.
Oh wow. Is this necessary???
Raven crying because "He's all I have!!" O slices herself with the knife. "HE won't let me die."
B is dying. Not literally. Emotionally. HIS SISTER.
But fucking Lincoln tells her which bottle is the antidote. She won't let B touch her.
This shit is FUCKED UP. Wow.
Finn has been given the antidote. Now Clarke is crying over Finn. "I can't do this without you." UGGGGGGGHHH. I'm gonna throw up.
Oh is the hurrican passing already? Nah. That doesn't happen that quickly. It was like three hours tops and probably less.
Ugh. Clarke is being a total bitch with Aabby. "Dad's dead because of you. You turned him in. I know it. WElls told me everything before he.... He let me believe he did it so I'd hate him instead of you."
"That was never supposed to happen. Jaha was supposed to talk him out of it."
She was used to preferential treatment because Jaha had a crush on her. But he didn't offer that preferrential treatment to her husband. I'm going with season 1. And season 1 had Jaha with a thing for Abby. Even if they didn't go anywhere with it. Maybe Jaha gave it up when Wells died. But that is a narrative motivation in season 1.
Clarke takes the spike out of LIncoln's hand and tries to treat him but he won't let her. God he's stubborn. And he lets Octavia do it. Sorry Lincoln you're being creepy with the teenager. You are NOT a teenager. This is a kid man.
And O is being spiteful because O does that best. But she's so sweet to lincoln about him saving her life. and fair he did. but he was willing to sacrifice ALL of the other kids. Now he speaks english does he?
I was not expecting to not like Lincoln. This is weird. Stop looking at her like that. Ew it's creepy. I was caught up in the narrative before which makes this a romeo and juliet story. But they were both kids and LINCOLN is and has always been an adult. wtf.
UGh now finn is looking at Clarke like she's the love of his life. And CLARKE says "She needs you finn."And she wakes up Raven and says he's asking for her. Which he isn't.
Must I say it again. Dump the limp hair biscuit and hook up with Raven. PRINCESS MECHANIC RULES.
Bellamy and Clarke. Who we are and who we need to be to survive are two very different things.
I DO NOT LIKE THIS FAMOUS BELLAMY QUOTE> IT's just the ends justify the means and I DO NOT AGREE.
"It's not being in charge, is it?"
Ugh Diana Sydney swearing in. HOw many eps before she betrays everyone?
OH THE BAD NEWS. We're going to the ground. NOT ALL OF US. 2237 people on the ark. Room for 700 in the dropships. They're on the titanic and there aren't enough lifeboats.
All right. That was a jam packed episode. And I have to say I liked it a lot. It didn't have any big resolutions. I suppose the knife came out of Finn. But it was a lot of character development.
Kane has his complete personality switch and goes back to his childhood spiritual center.
Abby learns that Clarke knows she told on her dad.
Jaha finds out Wells is dead and begins to slowly lose it.
O defends Lincoln and sacrifices herself to save him and Finn trusting Lincoln and the Romeon and Juliet thing starts.
Bellamy pushes himself to be this emotionless torturer because he thinks it's who he needs to be.
Clarke essentially gives up Finn in favore of Raven. Poor judgement. She should give up fin FOR Raven and both of them should dump him and sneak off to the bunker together. I am not apologizing. Bellarke isn't ready yet. They should be future ex girlfriends.
Miller takes over as Bellamy's lieutenant.
Diana Sydney, one of my least favorite characters, despite my kind of being on her side with the class issues on the ark, shows up and is giving power without any sort of vote at all.
The exodus is set up. Oh i can't wait til they get to the ground.
LOTS of character development. Lot of action.
Man if I could write this instead of them, things would be different. Wells would survive. Raven and Clarke would hook up and support each other for a while. When that broke up, amicably, Bellamy and Wells would be waiting in the wings. Yes. Raven and Wells. She never had a guy worthy of her and he never had a chance to be who he could have been. I would have LOVED to hear them argue. It would be enemies to lovers, because he was Jaha's son and a pompous ass and she was a cocky bastard who has no respect. AWESOME.
sigh. well anyway.
What did y'all think of the ep? I'm not editing this post. We die like teenagers in the apocalypses.

It was supposed to be like any other day. I’d wake up, the guard would give me three small portions of food throughout the day, whilst rereading the various classics and Greek mythology books my father sent. Eventually, I’d fall back asleep with my mother’s dove pendant clutched in my hand as I gazed out the window, into the dark abyss scattered with diamonds. On every other day, you’d make sure to aside time to practice self-defence. Something that my father had guards teach me before I was locked up.
Today was not one of those days. The chaos of yelling, screaming and grumbling outside the door ripped me from my trance. I shook my head and tried to engross myself again in the book I clutched, but the sound of the door flinging open broke it.
It also didn’t help that this was the last day before I’d be eighteen. Before I’d be floated.
“Prisoner 301, face the wall.” My breath hitched in my throat. No! I still had one more day!
When you didn’t even move an inch towards a wall the guard stalked his way towards you, his presence towering over your sitting form. “Get up on your feet!”
“No! I still have a day left you cunt!” You screeched.
With a punch to the man’s groin, he collapsed to the ground and you scampered out to escape. Unfortunately, I’ve tried to escape my cell multiple times so it was no surprise when someone tackled me as soon as I left the room.
“Get. Me. The. Fuck Off!” I yelled as punch after punch landed on the man’s back. The man grunted after each punch, but he never let me go until I was stood in front of the one man who turned me in a year ago. My own father; Marcus Kane.
Although it was a relief to see him after so long, I couldn’t help but glare at the man. He was supposed to be there for you no matter what, yet he never visited. Too much of a coward to face you and sent books in his place. The kind of books you and your mom used to read together.
“Dad?!” I hated him, but I still hugged him. I hated him, but I still loved my father.
Your eyes glossed with tears that had every intention to escape.
“I don’t want to die, not today!” I pleaded, refusing the tears to shower my cheeks. “I don’t want to be floated!”
“You’re not being floated (y/n),” He told you. “You’re being sent down to earth.” A chill ran down my spine.
“But I thought the earth was still uninhabitable?” Dad just shook his head as another guard hooked me over their shoulder and stalked away from my father’s now retreating figure.
Typical. Just like when I was first chucked in the skybox. He couldn’t even muster a single goodbye. The punching of another guard ensued as he hauled me over to the dropship entrance.
Suddenly, there was a prick in my arm and gradually I drew drowsier, and drowsier. My punches slowly weakened after each hit. The last thing I saw before I succumbed to darkness was the menacing smirk of one Commander Shumway, my eyes darkening in both anger and fear.
In what felt like seconds, my eyes squinted open while adjusting to the poor lighting of the dropship. Screams and yells from others around me filled my ears. As my vision came into focus, I looked around to see the horror morphed on many of the teens’ faces. In the seat five seats down from me, I recognised a familiar head of blonde that I knew oh so well.
“Clarke!” I called. The blonde whipped her head my way and relief settled on both our faces. “Thank the gods you’re here! If I could I’d smother you in a hug right now I would!”
The two of us bursted out laughing knowing I’d actually smother her. Before I had the chance to ask her something else, Chancellor Jaha’s voice filled the room.
“Prisoners of the Ark, hear me now. You’ve been given a second chance. And as your chancellor, it is my hope that you see this as not just a chance for you, but a chance for all of us. Indeed, for mankind itself. We have no idea what is waiting for you down there. If the odds of survival were better, we would’ve sent others. Frankly, we’re sending you because your crimes have made you expendable.”
Expendable? What the hell?! All I did was try to spread the word that the life-support system for the Ark was failing, after overhearing a heated discussion between Jaha, my father and others in the Council.
“Everyone here being expendable is bullshit and you know it!” My voice echoed throughout the dropship, catching the attention of everyone in the room. I gulped at the stares thrown my way, but it was the stare of the single guard in the room that caught my eye.
No guards were supposed to be inside. So the only reason why he’d be here would be because he was escaping something… or to protect someone. Perhaps a certain younger sister that wasn’t supposed to be born?
It had to be Bellamy Blake, the older brother of floor girl, Octavia Blake. His gaze seemed to linger on me slightly longer than the other delinquents around. I wasn’t sure if it was due to pure curiosity or how everyone knew I was Marcus Kane’s daughter. I tore my gaze away from his blank stare and stared down at the metal ground.
As Jaha’s speech became muffled, I gaped at the floor and the room began to groan and shake. A familiar dark-skinned young man was suddenly talking to Clarke.
“Wells?” I questioned. His brown orbs tore away from Clarke, his gaze landing on me.
“(Y/N)! Thank god!” He floated over to me, pulled me up to my feet and smothered me in a hug. A giggle vibrated through my chest. “What’s so funny?”
“I told Clarke I’d smother her in a hug, yet you’ve gone and did just that to me,” I chuckled. Wells only chuckled as I hugged him back.
“This is nice —” We both started but ended in a fit of giggles. Two other delinquents then join Wells and I in standing up. I could hear Clarke softly calling my name to sit back down along with the others standing, but I just ignored it.
Strangely, Wells still held on to me and sat in the seat I was in just before, plopping me onto his lap and snuggling into me more. He and I did have a weirdly affectionate friendship before both our arrests, but even this was pushing the line between friendship and a romantic relationship.
The dropship lurched, sending three delinquents flying who had left their seats despite Clarke’s protests. I clunged to Wells’ neck as his grip on my waist tightened, closing my eyes tight. Something sickening yet sweet filled my nose. Smoke. Sparks went off right and left and with one final violent jolt, the dropship came to a stop.
     We were on the ground!
The dropship powers down almost instantaneously and echoes of seatbelts unbuckling filled the room. Heat rose to my cheeks as I slowly clambered off Wells’ lap. His cheeks were crimson red as were probably my own. I helped him to his feet and took one of my hands in his, leading him down to the doors, waiting for them to be to opened as a crowd formed in front.
A dark-haired girl stormed through yelling, “Bellamy!” The guy in the uniform I saw before spun around and stared at the girl in shock. So I was right! He was Bellamy Blake and that girl was definitely Octavia, his sister.
“My God, look how big you are!” The two smiled at each other before the girl - Octavia - jumped forward and pulled Bellamy into a tight hug.
“Where’s your wristband?” Clarke asked Bellamy as she sided next to Wells and I.
“Do you mind?” Octavia cut Clarke off with an annoyed look. “I haven’t seen my brother in a year.”
“Seriously Clarke?” I jumped in, everyone’s eyes turning to me as I let go of Wells’ hand. “We’ve reached the ground and the first thing you do is ask where the guy’s wristband is?” Clarke was surprised by my outburst, but Octavia and Bellamy looked at me thankful that I stood up for them.
“Surely you’d like to be known as someone else. Perhaps the first person on the ground in a hundred years?” Octavia grinned in appreciation whilst Bellamy nodded my way.
I returned the smile as Bellamy pulled on a nearby lever, opening the door to the outside. As a haze of smoke breaks, a bright light shone into the ship, momentarily blinding me but the lush colours of green, blue and brown eventually took its place.
Finally, I’d be able to put my Earth Skills to use!
Octavia slowly made her way down the ramp before she stepped onto the ground. She turned back towards the ship, a massive grin etched on her olive face.
“We’re back bitches!” She threw her arms up as she yelled.
A parade of teens stormed off the ship in a hurry, yelling and screaming that we’re back. A laugh resonated in my chest as a familiar presence took my hand in theirs.
“Together?” Wells asked. With a soft sigh, I nodded, but not before I leapt onto his back. He shook his head as he wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck.
     “Ride on my noble steed!”
A gush of air swept through my (Y/H/C) locks as Wells sprinted out the door, but within seconds of Wells being on the ground, we both tumbled onto the grass. One glance at each other was enough to send us into a fit of laughter.
     “I missed you, Wells —”
“I missed you, (Y/N) —” A chuckle from above broke two of us from our trance.
“It hasn’t even been a day and you two are back to finishing each other’s sentences.” Clarke towered over Wells and I, teasingly shaking her head at us.
“Are you really surprised at this point, Clarke?” I retorted as I jumped to my feet, smothering the blonde in a tight hug.
“Nope!” With a quick kiss to Wells’ cheek, I sauntered off in hopes of recognising someone else. Within two minutes I had lost the motivation so I found myself a sturdy and long enough stick I could use to fashion a bow with. Someone’s shoelace would probably work for the string.
I sat close to the dropship, carving my initials into one end of the stick with a shard of metal that had broken off the ship, when someone sat next to me.
“Hey, you’re Marcus Kane’s daughter right?” I turned to see Octavia and nodded expectantly.
“That I am..” I replied slightly bitter. “But you can call me (Y/N).” I held my hand out for her to shake, but she hugged me instead. To say I was surprised would be an understatement.
“Why aren’t you angry with me? My father was one of the people that got you put in the skybox in the first place.” I asked as she pulled away.
“Because it wasn’t you who did it. It was your dad.” Well, she wasn’t wrong about that. A mischievous look appeared on her face. “Want to get into some trouble?”
I mirrored her expression. “Oh hell yes!” We both giggled before I grabbed her hand and lead her to the dropship. We pulled up behind Clarke and Finn, who were recruiting two other guys to head over to Mount Weather. “Can we go now?”
“Sounds like a party, make it six,” Octavia said as she gestured between the two of us. Clarke doesn’t protest, but a certain oldest Blake does. He grabbed Octavia’s shoulder causing her to let go of my hand.
“Hey, what the hell are you doing?” Bellamy scolded Octavia.
“Going for a walk,” she retorted as she pulled out of his grip. “Are you coming (Y/N)?”
I glanced from the group to Bellamy a few times, debating whether to follow along to Mount Weather or to help Bellamy around the dropship. Although I’d probably be more help with the group of five, something in my gut told me I’d be just as helpful here.
“I’ll stay here and help Wells and Bellamy with keeping order. As I’m sure they’ll need my help” I sauntered back over to the ship, ignoring Clarke and Octavia calling my name and a gaping Bellamy.
Throughout the day I helped Wells with pretty much everything, but as soon as the sun was near the horizon I decided to stop for the day. I wasn’t blind to Murphy trying to get people to take off their wristbands. Such an action was most likely something Bellamy put him up to as he was the only one that could benefit from it. The only question was why.
A shadow casted to the ground by the fire told me there was someone behind me.
“If you even think you can get the upper hand on me to get off my wristband, think again Blake.” It wasn’t a long shot if it was him, and my suspicions were proven right when the man himself sat down next to me.
     “How did you —”
“Your shadow gave it away you idiot and only you or Murphy would dare approach me from behind. Not that Murphy has though.” He just nodded as I finally turned to him.
Although I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction, Bellamy was handsome. His slightly tousled black hair, brown eyes and olive skin put him under the tall, dark and mysterious category. I tore my gaze away before it became borderline staring.
“Was there anything else you wanted to talk about, Blake?” I questioned. He shifted in his spot slightly.
“Thank you for earlier, with Octavia,” He admitted. “Although I’m certainly not a fan of your father, thank you.” Something in my gut told me he really did mean what he said.
“I’m not heartless, Blake” I retorted. “Compared to Chancellor Jaha and everyone else on the council, I’m a puppy.” We shared a look and snorted, trying to stifle our own laughs.
     “Why a puppy?” He asked.
“Because although I look innocent, anything can still set me off and my bite is much worse than my bark.” I stood to my feet, dusting off any dirt and sauntered back over to the dropship.
A couple of hours later the world was enveloped in darkness, our only source of light being from the fire. Everything in me wanted to ignore the world around me. However, the muffled sound of arguing grew louder and louder as I left my daze.
“My father didn’t write the laws,” Wells’ voice admitted. My gaze looked up and landed on the arguing figures of Wells and Bellamy.
“No. He enforced him, but not any more, not here,” Blake shrugged. “Here there are no laws. Here, we do whatever the hell we want, whenever the hell we want. Now, you don’t have to like it Wells. You can even try to stop it, change it, kill me. You know why? Whatever the hell we want.”
I stood up, opening my mouth with every intention to object — at least get Wells and Bellamy to compromise on the situation — but Bellamy seemed to notice this and sharply shook his head. My eyes narrowed at him and scowled. He was taken aback by my scowl and I had no idea why.
“Whatever the hell we want!” Murphy yelled out to the crowd. The crowd of teenager, minus Wells and I, followed in suit and started chanting the only rule established. A rule that would do more harm than good.
“Am I the only one who thinks this is gonna result in chaos?” I asked Wells.
     “You’re not the only one.”
He wrapped an arm around my waist, holding me close and I rested my head on his shoulder. Something that didn’t go amiss by the eldest Blake. Bellamy’s face was unreadable and I didn’t know if it was a good thing or a bad thing.
A low rumble echoed from above before a downpour of rain decided to settle. Our first thunderstorm. A soft sigh left my chest as a smile formed on my face. The rain felt so good and I just didn’t care about getting soaked.
I allowed myself to enjoy the rain a little while longer, looking around at the other delinquents with a smile. My smile fades almost instantly when my eyes meet Bellamy’s dark chocolate orbs. I scowled once more at him before scavenging around for something to collect water in. He needed to know I wasn’t onboard with his so called plan.
The handrests of the seats inside the dropship ended up being perfect. I struggled a little getting some off, but I managed. With my small collection of water troughs, I sat them outside sitting in front of me as they collected the rain water.
The thunderstorm didn’t last for very long, but I’m left with a few troughs filled with fresh water. I drunk some water until my thrist was satisfied and I made sure Wells got some as well. Any water-filled troughs still completely full I snuck into the dropship to hide.
Wells then took my hand and lead me to a tree across the clearing and we helped each other up. We sat on a thick enough branch that could hold both our weights, sitting there in silence comfortably for a couple minutes, my head resting on his shoulder. Wells was the one to break the underlying tension in the air.
“I think we need to address the elephant in the room…” Wells trailed off. He took my hands in his and turned the both of us around, our legs dangling on either side of the branch. I could only sigh and nod.
“I know we’ve been best friends since we were toddlers and have always been affectionate with each other, but the cuddle in the dropship got me thinking.” Our fingers threaded through each other as he spoke. “I… I want us to be be more friends.”
My head perked up at his words. Not going to lie, I did develop a crush on Wells two years before I was chucked in the skybox. However, I never acted on it as we had been best friends for years. We grew up together and at one point I thought he had a crush on Clarke.
“But what about Clarke?” I mumbled as he took my cheeks in his hands.
     “It’s always been you.”
His lips melted onto my own. Although his lips were slightly chapped from dehydration they were still incredibly soft. It felt as if a fire had started in my heart and I didn’t want it to stop. We eventually had to part for air, but he quickly slammed his lips back on mine, this time his tongue slipping into my mouth. We fought for dominance over each other, but Wells ultimately won. Our lips parted once more and we panted as we caught our breath.
Wells rested his head on my own and we both sighed.
“I’d hug you, but I’m worried we’d fall out of the tree.” Wells chuckled and pecked my lips. “I’ll find another tree nearby to sleep, we wouldn’t want people getting the wrong idea.”
I pecked his lips before jumping down from the tree. Almost everyone was asleep, so I walked quietly as possible to the closest tree nearby. I laid down, resting my head and back against the tree. Just as I was about to succumb to sleep a familiar presence sat down next to me.
“To what do I owe the displeasure of having your presence, Blake.” Bellamy snorted at what I said.
“I’m flattered you knew it was me,” he smirked.
“Yeah, well, don’t get used to it,” I clapped back. I finally turned to his annoyingly handsome face. Gods I wanted to kiss that smirk off his face — wait what?! I kissed Wells only minutes ago and I was already thinking about kissing someone else?
“So…” he trailed off. “You and Jaha. When did that happen?” I gaped at the thought of how to respond.
“We both had crushes on each other, prior to us both being thrown in the skybox,” I admitted. “Neither of us acted on it before the Ground.” He nodded, but something in his eyes told me he was disappointed about something.
Mentioning being thrown into the skybox reminded me why I was put in there in the first place. Me trying to expose to the rest of the Ark that life-support was failing, my father being the one to chuck me inside and throw away the key. It was a cowardly move and my father knew it. He never even came to see me the utter bastard.
“I need help taking off my wristband.” Bellamy looked at me with disbelief. “I want to take it off, but I don’t want to hurt myself.”
He stared at me right in my eyes, probably to see with there was any hesitation in them. However, when he saw none he helped with the wristband, slipping it off with ease.
“Thank you.” He wasn’t really supposed to hear my thanks, but he did, just giving me a small smile before he walked off in the other direction.
My eyes glossed with water, the teardrops threatening to escape but only a single tear rolled down my cheek.
     I’m sorry, Dad.

Chapter: 0.07
Nova stood watching as Kane tried to blend his people with her own. It was a disaster waiting to happen. She was surprised her commander had agreed to it.
“Monin.” Kane said cheerily. “I thought we'd start with a reception then move on to training. We have a lot to learn from each other. Weapons there, please. Only Ark guards are here.” Indra along with other grounders threw their weapons into a box. “Thank you for agreeing to this, Indra.”
Indra looked him up and down, before replying with a snarky comment. “We're here on the commander's orders. I agreed to nothing.”
The council meeting room quickly became full of grounders. Kane looked uncomfortable as he spoke to Jaha in a low voice. Nova tried not to smirk as she heard Octavia telling a guard to stick his tongue up his ass. She sighed listening to Kane deliver a speech about their common enemy, the mountain men.
Nova’s eyes landed on Murphy as one of the other grounders started to square up to him. She bit down on her bottom lip as she decided what to do. With eyes on them Murphy had suggested they kept a low profile with the aftermath of Finn’s death still being raw, and a part of that was not jumping in to defend each other unless it was necessary. Nova did as Lexa said and stayed away from the ceremony, but now Nova wasn’t sure if she could go back as whispers about her involvement had started to spread. Thankfully it hadn’t reached the ears of the sky clan yet.
Murphy glared at the person in front of him, “you got a problem?”
“Yu stood der watching while Ai village was massacred.” ‘You stood there watching while my village was massacred.’
Nova couldn’t hold her tongue. “Penn hod op. Yu get in em wasn’t em.” ‘Penn stop. You know it wasn’t him.’
Murphy shrugged, “sorry man. I don’t speak grounder.
Penn stepped even closer to Murphy, causing him to push the grounder back. Kane stormed over to them. “Mr. Murphy, apologize to that man.”
“For what?” Murphy asked. “He started it!”
Kane shook his head. “Two days' work detail.”
“Work detail? I just told you I didn't do it-” Murphy challenged him.
“Care to make it three?”
Penn glared at Murphy, “you can burn just like your friend.” Murphy clenched his fist but ignored the comment. He was trying his best not to take the bait.
Penn smirked, “Hei nova? ha does Ai feel bilaik a skaikru slut nau? everybody get in Yu turned bilaik bakon ona bilaik gada in kru gon Disha. cockroach. Ai wonder chit bilaik sister would fig raun taim she could-”
Penn was cut off by Murphy punching him in the face. As a riot broke out between sky people and grounders, Murphy ignored Kane who was yelling at him, and grabbed Nova’s hand and dragged her out of the room with him.
______
Murphy closed the door behind him and spun to face Nova. Who looked bewildered by what just happened. “Are you okay?”
She nodded, “I’m fine.” Her fingers trailed over the bruise appearing on his knuckles. “I can’t believe you punched Penn in the face.”
“He had it coming,” Murphy’s eyes were glued on Nova’s fingers. He wasn’t used to somebody worrying about him, she gently pressed a kiss to the back of his hand before rubbing her thumb over his swollen skin. “What did he do to you anyway?”
‘Hey Nova? How does It feel to be a Skaikru slut now? Everybody knows you turned your back on your own people for this...cockroach. I wonder what your sister would think if she could-‘
Nova shrugged, pretending the comment didn’t hurt her. “Nothing important, just that I’m a slut, a traitor, and he was starting to talk about my sister when you punched him.”
Murphy gritted his teeth. He would have done more than punch Penn in the face if he had known what he was saying. “How do you say I’m sorry in grounder?”
Nova chuckled. “I’m fiya, why? Are you thinking of apologising for causing a riot?”
Smiling Murphy shook his head. “Hell no. I just wanted to say...I’m fiya Nova.” He brushed a loose strand of hair behind ear, “you could have gotten hurt in there.”
She closed her eyes. “I’ve been through much worse, and so have you.”
Murphy gulped down, his eyes had trailed from her fingers to her pink lips. His feelings towards the grounder confused him. From the moment he let her escape the drop-ship something changed. He had never put his neck on the line for anyone before, let alone a stranger. The grounder girl who helped him live quickly became his only friend. But now? Murphy wasn’t sure if friendship was the only thing he wanted.
Nova opened her eyes to see Murphy gazing down at her. The look made her stomach tighten, her lips parted slightly as he leaned towards her.
The door to the room swung open, as Clay, a young grounder stood sheepishly rubbing his neck. “Kane en indra are lufa au Yu both. Ai heard chit happened fou, Skai boy punched penn gon defend Yu?” ‘Kane and Indra are looking for you both. I heard what happened before, Sky boy punched penn to defend you? Causing a massive fight to break out? ’
A wide smile spread across Nova’s face as she nodded, “he don dula.”
Murphy frowned as the grounder raised his eyebrows and left, “what was that about it?”
“He was asking if it was true if you punched Penn, and caused riot.” She laughed, “Kane and Indra are looking for us.”
Great, just great.
______
“Good, Fio. Who's next?”
“I am.” Octavia stepped forward, “We're supposed to train together right?”
A few grounders tutted as the sky girl argued with Indra that she should train with them. Kane stood beside Nova who was leaning against the wall. “Aren’t you going to train?”
She shook her head, “I’ve never been much of a fighter.”
“What is your skill?” He asked curiously. Kane wasn’t dumb, every grounder he had came across had a specialsed skill.
“Archer...” memories of the promise she made to Treyton came flooding back. “Let gyon au kom foutaim.” Kane raised his eyebrow at the grounders mumble. Nova cleared her throat, “We should all try our best to let go of the past. I can teach your people how to use a bow and arrow if they are interested. And Indra says it’s okay.”
He smiled, “thank you.”
______
“I take it you don't approve.” Murphy did his best to Ignore Jaha. “I asked you a question.”
Murphy stopped mopping and turned to face Jaha. “Who cares what I think.”
“I do. That’s why I asked.” Jaha looked back at his people and grounders training together. “So what do you think?”
“I think the grounders can go to hell.” The moments the words passed his lips he regretted saying them. Murphy didn’t hate all grounders, he was pissed at them getting special treatment. “Most of them anyway.”
The chancellor waited until the hallway was clear before following John further into the camp. “I got you off work detail.” He watched as the teenager screwed his face up. “You knew my son and I'd like you to take me to his grave. Now that there's a truce, it's safe for me to go see the body.”
“Then get somebody else to take you,” Murphy spat.
“I'm told the graves are unmarked. You can show me which is his.” Jaha offered Murphy a gun, which he accepted. “You can hold a mop, you can hold and gun.”
______
Murphy scoffed as he watched Jaha kneeling at Wells grave. He had no sympathy for the man who killed his father. “Are we about done? We got to be heading back.”
Jaha didn’t take his off Well’s grave, “How well did you know him?”
“Well enough to be hung for his murder.” Murphy paused, “Clarke sugarcoated it for you didn't she?”
“What happened to my son?
Murphy sighed, he didn’t want to relive one of the worst days of his life. “Twelve-year-old girl stabbed him in the neck with a knife she took from me”
Jaha shot his head up. “Why would she do that?”
“She couldn't kill you,” he shrugged. “Yeah, so you got a lot of blood on your hands, Chancellor. Every single one of them including your son would still be alive if you hadn't sent us down here.”
Jaha stood up and clasped his hands behind his back. “ If I didn't send you, they would've died on the Ark with the rest of us and we would've never known that Earth was survivable. Their sacrifice is why we are here. Good can come out of even the darkest acts, John.”
Murph groaned as Jaha started to walk the wrong way, “Camp you is that way.”
“We'll rest at the dropship for a while.”
“Suit yourself.”
______
Murphy shook his head as Jaha continued to offer him food. “You sure? You must be hungry?”
“No one gives anything without expecting anything in return.”
Jaha looked at him with a blank expression on his face. “That's a cynical way to go through life, John.”
“You pull me off work detail, you offer me food. Why are you being so nice to me.”
The chancellor cleared his throat, as if was getting ready to deliver a speech. “Everyone deserves a second chance. That's why we sent the hundred to the Earth in the first place.”
“What a load of crap. You didn't give a damn about us. You still don't, that's why you're not fighting for those kids in Mount Weather.”
Jaha gave him a disapproving look. “I have to think of everyone. I know you don't want to hear this but sometimes you have to sacrifice the few to save the many. Like I said, good can come out of even the darkest acts.”
Murphy shook his head. The only person who treated him like a human was Nova, she showed him kindness when nobody else did. “Then you can take it from me, I was pardoned, slate wiped clean I'm still treated like dirt.”
“You made mistakes, so have I.”
Murphy glared at him, “I'm nothing like you, Chancellor.”
“No, we both should have died several times over. We both suffered at the hands of the grounders. We both have been betrayed and imprisoned by our own people.”
“So there's no place for us,” Murphy said sarcastically. “Great thought you were supposed to be inspiring.”
“There is a place for all of us. When I first landed on Earth I met a woman who spoke of a place beyond the dead zone, a place where everyone is accepted, a city of light.”
“Sounds like a fairytale.” Murphy continued to listen to Jaha’s rambles about a better life, while trying not to think about what could be happening back at camp.
______
Murphy awoke in the drop-ship to the sounds of others talking. What the fuck? He jumped to his feet, “Hey what the hell is this?”
Jaha stepped to the side to reveal a small group of people standing outside. “We're going to the City of Light.”
“You're going now? There's a million ways to die out there.”
“If it's not your time, nothing can kill you. If it is your time it only takes one.” Murphy opened his mouth to reply when Nova came into view. What the hell was she doing here? Jaha smiled at the young man’s expression. “I thought you might want some company Mr. Murphy.”
Nova quickly hugged her friend before turning to face the strange man who had asked her to join them. “Do you even have a map?”
“Nope.”
Murphy wrapped his arm around Nova’s shoulder. “Then how do you know where you're going?”
“I don't, but I won't be moved by fear. You want to stop being treated like a criminal. You gotta stop thinking that's what you are. Take this leap of faith with me, John Murphy and let me show you there is so much more for you than this.”
Jaha started to lead his ‘people’ away. Murphy and Nova watched as the group started to fo further into the forest. “Why did you come?”
“Jaha...your leader said he knows what I’ve done...he apparently knows how to make the pain stop.” She blinked away tears, “I feel so guilty. Every time I see your people...I see his face everywhere I look.”
“So you want to go?”
Nova bit down on her bottom lip. “I-I don’t know. I’m not going anywhere without you, if you stay I stay.”
For the first time in hours a smile pulled at the corners of Murphy’s mouth. He weighed up their options, they could return to camp Jaha and risk others finding out what Nova had done, or take a chance. “What the hell,” he shrugged. “My people hate me, and Lexa has practically banished you. Let’s see what this place has to offer.”
Nova leaned up and kissed him on the check. Murphy locked his own fingers with hers, as they started to catch up with the group searching for the city of lights.
