Two sisters with the ability to hear spirits lose everything and must wander through a 'haunted' forest, The Wastes, filled with creatures non of this world. The Story and plot is well done but it's boring. There are good parts to it definitely, but for a story like this, especially being of fantasy, I expected it'd be a page turner and I wouldn't be able to put it down, but it just isn't that gripping. I do enjoy the whole idea of the story so I will read book 2 and maybe 3 as well, hopefully they're much more exciting. I did however feel betrayed along with Moria in the last chapter. As said, this first book at least, isn't much of a page turner although is still interesting. 6/10 would recommend

16 year old Echo is dead. She wakes up in an orphanage called middle house as a ghost. Through this story she works on finding her killer and bringing him or her to justice while making some new friends and helping them along the way as well. I thought the initial storyline was good, but there were things that could have been better. Like Echo is quite whiney and acts like she's the only one suffering for most of the book so i couldn't really connect with her nor did i really like her. The reason as to why Echo died could have been waayyyy better. It could have been much, much more exciting and a A LOT less of what it was. Though her and her death cause weren't very well done, i love the relationship that blooms between her and Cole, it's sweet. But having her dwell on Andy was a mistake, that's also what made me lose some interest, she was just too attached. In short, although she isn't necessarily, Echo definitely acts like a spoiled brat/diva. And her cause of death isn't something i really want to see in books, yes, it is a common threat people face in the real world, but i don't think that's something that should be a main plot point in books.

If anyone is interested, I’m selling this book!
I wasn't really interested in Sing's story. It's just not really interesting, and I think it might also be because I'm not into music (making). Although it did start to pull me in a little after she went out into the forest the first time and found the Tamino. Then when her and Nathan started to cross paths more and develop a friendship, it had me.
The cover. It dosen't even relate to the story. Not once does Sing wear a red dress. Not once does she run through the woods in that dress. The title is wrong. It gives off the impression that this story is creepy, wrong. Not in the slightest, and it dosen't suit the story. There is singing, but there is no /strange sweet song/. The title should actually be Angelique, or Sing and Angelique, or something along those lines since this story is pretty much all about Sing and the play Angelique. I kind of like The Felix's story, and the way it's written is really nice, full of mystery and wonder, leaves lots of room for imagination and questions. Kinda of wishing the whole book was focused on The Felix, and if there is a whole book dedicated to the Felix, please feel free to let me know! I don't like how we see less and less of the Felix the further we go into the book, and also, I would like to know how Tamino came into existence. Would that mean that Felix somehow had a baby, or the Felix and her brother and Mother weren't/aren't the only ones of their type out there and she found the Tamino? Nathan's side is somewhat interesting- Not as boring as Sing's, but not as interesting as the Felix's. It was a little confusing how this 'story's' timing was different from the rest in the beginning, but makes sense afterwards. However it does get interesting after we learn who Nathan really is, that's when things start to get good and we dive deeper into the ocean and see all the wonders. Zhin seemed pretty bitchy, she was not only rude, but she also tried to put everyone down and make a point that because she's privileged she's better than them. I didn't like her at all, and i feel like she was an unnecessary character and was pretty useless to the story except for one or two little things that happen. It's so obvious from the beginning that Ryan's a playboy, I mean, he was eyeing both Lori /and/ Sing at the same time, how could Sing be so blind? I would give 3.5, but I can't, so it's a 3.
**SPOILERS FROM HERE ON**
She shouldn't have been so shocked when she found Ryan with Zhin. The part after Nathan dies is so confusing, like what the hell, he and Tamino just died and Sing's standing in the lobby with playboy like heck didn't just happen? The author has some explaining to do. I feel like it has something to do with the fact that technically Nathan and George shouldn't really exist and should be long dead, so after they die life goes on like they were never there, but there isn't really any proof of this and Adi Rule still has explaining to do.

If anyone is intereseted, I’m selling this book!
The first two chapters were so BORING, I didn't even want to continue, but I thought I should try just one more chapter. Honestly, I loved chapter three, it allows you're imagination to wander and allows you to feel as if you may be at the camp yourself. Honestly, the book should have started off from chapter three, chapters 1 and 2 were unnecessary, the reasons why they went to camp could have been incorporated later in the story, we didn't need two whole chapters of it, BoRiNg 🥱. Alright, so, I noticed that whenever we get a look into how Rebecca's doing, it's super boring and just unnecessary. Rebecca is an unnecessary and an annoying character. Her perspective is super boring, whereas when we get a look into how David and Caleb are doing, it's either good, or okay, not boring. I read up to chapter six and I was done. This story was going NOWHERE. There wasn't really any progress being made, and there was little signs of any possible character development. This is just a crappy book. I don't recommend it at all. Save yourselves some time, and maybe money, and don't bother picking this up.

It was amazing! Kept me on the edge of my seat almost all the time. I was however disappointed that throughout this series and especially in this last book that we never got Marcus's perspective. We've gotten the perspective of all the main characters we've know throughout the series except for his, and since this book was sort of about him it would have been nice, especially when Clara went to see him about Anastasia. It was a nice wrap up and a lovely read. I do love how the characters came to grow and mature throughout the series, 9/10 would definitely recommend!

The girls are in NYC, and the excitement has just begun. I loved it, I had listened to the audiobook and it was amazing.
Although Lorraine was still pretty annoying.

Rich Good Girls being rebellious, one Bad Girl trying to carve out a new life for herself as a Good Country-Girl, Dangerous Gangsters and Judging Crowds, fake identities, money and love. Meet Gloria, Lorraine, Clara, Marcus, Jerome, Bastian, and Carlito. I absolutely loved it! Although snobby rich white girls were/are annoying. Gloria was more annoying in the first half of the book, but Lorraine was just annoying throughout. I actually liked Clara, as well as Marcus, and the relationship that develops between them. I'm looking forward to reading book two!

I couldn't put this book down during the first half/part one! It was a page turner and I absolutely loved it! Part two did slow down a little bit, but was interesting nonetheless. Not to mention the fact that this cover is beautiful! The relationship that's created between Ingrid and Ethan happens so fast but was done well, I can't wait to see more of them as well as more of Jia and Will, Misty didn't really appeal to me, she just seemed like a girl with superpowers and anger issues. It's very sad that, (as far as I know), we won't see more of Sunni, she seemed like she was a good character and I would enjoy more of her. Eager to read book 2!

I couldn't really engage myself into the story, it just didn't have that excitement or interestingness for me. It was boring for most of part 1, some chapters were interesting, but that didn't last. Part 2 did get good. The beginning of part 3 is somewhat boring , but it picks up. Part 4 was good. It was also a slow story, sometimes we jump from present to past, and sometimes it was okay, other times it confused me a little. The chapters were a good length. Our main character Ciere can be pretty annoying sometimes, especially how she kind of just falls for a character that enters the story later on and who she kind of knows nothing about. The ending to Ciere's side of the story was okay, but the ending to Daniel's side seemed a little pointless to me. All in all, it was decent story, but I'm not really sure if I want to and/or will read book 2.

Even though this is a middle grade book, It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Like that cover alone is stunning! I loved it! It kept me on the edge of my seat, although the whole doll thing was a little predictable since it came from the Caribbean where all that voodoo stuff was, so it was a little obvious that the doll had something to do with voodoo and the creepy-fate kind of stuff. Although when I was on the chapter where things really started to pick up and I was able to sort of put pieces together and figure out the plot, it became too obvious that the right thing to do was to return the doll to the rightful owners. All the magic, timetravel, mystery, creepiness, and regular life-ness come together to create a wonderfully written novel. It also reminded me a lot of Princess and The Frog, I guess because of the bayou, alligator, fireflies, dolls and voodoo, and the multiple New Orlean mentions. I now also really want to read Circle Of Secrets which concentrates on Larissa's best friend, Shelby Jane, and When The Butterflies Came which concentrates on her 'enemy', Tara Doucet.

It was a lovely story, I enjoyed it. But that ending was wrong, very wrong, I expected something way better and lots more heartfelt/heartwarming.

This book was absolutely amazing. I loved it from beginning to end. It gave me all the feels and I couldn't put it down.
It gives you insight on a soldier's life, on war, and just how much their friends' and families' lives are impacted by the outcome of war, good or bad.
Throughout this book, I smiled, laughed, and got teary-eyed.
It was a beautiful story and absolutely deserves four stars! [in my opinion]
The children, or more so Betsy, was not done well, she was a total brat, the child of someone who dosen't know discipline.

It was meh, mostly cause it was boring. I didn't really want to finish reading it, the only things that kept me reading was the sisterhood between Quinn and Mattie, the situation with Mattie, her parents, and Jonathan Dawes. I forced myself through the other stuff. Not only was it boring, but it was also annoying and confusing how each paragraph was about a different character(s). It IS NOT consistent with characters, I would have much preferred consistency where each chapter is concentrated on one or two characters. Quinn also kept me going. Quinn, why, WHY. Thank god I only spent $1.25 on this thing and downloaded the audiobook free.

It was all going good, enjoyable read. You get to part three and it starts to get a little boring. I felt like the last three chapters were somewhat unnecessary, and they dragged on. Then we have a character that was tortured and crucified in the 2nd last chapter, but who then is fine and alive in the last chapter. Not only was that super confusing, but there was no explanation for it whatsoever. Chapters were also a little lengthy, mostly in parts two and three. If you count single page, they're like 15-20p long but back to back it becomes 30+p long. But I really loved how each chapter was a different characters perspective, it was kind of like getting everyone's side of the story for once, I enjoyed that :).
