Yo ! To excuse myself from not keeping my promisses to translate my fanfics, here's Nao's Heart Station of Awakening !! "the new normal"

i wake up to the sound of buzzing horns and the pitter patter of raindrops on my window.

today's a Sunday.

i tuck myself under the sheets and try to get myself back to sleep..go back to the dream that i was having.the dream where maa braids my hair while reciting stories she used to hear from grandma in her long lost childhood,the dream where my father kisses me on the forehead and tries to get me out of the bed on early mornings,the dream where my siblings used to come finish the savoury glass of milk maa had just served for me to have and how i used to chase them for all thier mischiefs..

that was MY normal.but it's not the same now,is it?..

"what i have now is my new normal."

I finally get up from my bed half heartedly and take a glance around me.It's been almost a year since I've shifted to the city for my higher studies.maa said it will be worth it,but somehow i always find myself longing to go back,always find myself at a loss when it comes to adjusting myself with this new normal.

oh how desperately i wish i could go back to what i had earlier,run along the rice fields in our village,lie down at the shade of the banyan tree on summer afternoons and feel the cool breeze on my face.

Everything is so different here.the skies don't look the same anymore,the sunsets in our village used to be tinted with pretty crimson red and orange hues,while all i get here is pale,dull sunsets.back in our village,the moon and i used to have conversations every night,while here all i do is stare across my window pane at the citylights.

The past year has not at all been all sweet and savoury for me.Uncountable memories i have left behind, indescribable moments of love and happiness i wish i could feel again, adjusting to a new environment was never a piece of cake for me but then adjusting to the new normal is all that life really is isn't it?

i lazily open my laptop as i take a bite of the sandwich leftover from yesterday.. another thing to remind me of how pampered i was at home,how maa never let me go outside the house without having a proper breakfast.cut to the present, ironically I'm living off of stale and leftover food for almost a year now..just because no matter whatever expensive food i order it never tastes like how maa's food does..

i surf the net for a few hours but my mind just can't get focused so i decide to just give up and lay down on my bed.as i patiently wait for brighter rainbows and warmer skies to adorn my days,i reminisce all the prettiest moments I've left behind at my home that I'd die to live again,all the silliest fights I'd love to fight again and all the hopeless crushes i had when i was young, that I'd love to fall for again..

i can slowly sense myself drift away to sleep as these words that maa and paa uttered to me keep ringing in my ears -

"live for what tomorrow can bring,not what yesterday has taken away"!!

Dreams [EPISODE 2 – A DREAM TO SING WITH BTS !  and MY FIRST SONG ] PART 2

this is the continuation of the 1st part of episode 2 !! thanks for reading!! :))

At first glance it seems like my first song MISUNDERSTANDING is a song about a misunderstanding between two lovers…but I wrote this song with something way more broad in my mind…

TO BE HONEST..I have not even told my friends what this song is about so this is probably the first time I’m explaining what it really is about….

MISUNDERSTANDING is a huge word…with a great depth and a lot of emotions in it…For me this song is not just about the misunderstandings between two lovers….this song  is about those clash of opinions between two best friends when you start to think and ponder over whether that person really is your best friend but later you realize that it was just a MISUNDERSTANDING…this song is about those few exchanges of rough verbal accusations when you think your family doesn’t support you and doesn’t let you do what you want to do with your life but you realize afterwards that it was all just a MISUNDERSTANDING….this is about those few rare moments in life when you think you are being controlled and don’t have freedom to voice your opinion but it’s all just a MISUNDERSTANDING…

Though this song is off beat at a few points and not that good in terms of quality..since this is the first song I made all by myself with almost no equipment  except for my phone and laptop…but the message that I wanted to put out through this song is that ; SOMETIMES IN LIFE NOTHING MAKES SENSE AND EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE ON THE WRONG TRACK…IT FEELS LIKE WE ARE JUST DOING NOTHING BUT WASTING OUR PRECIOUS TIME….BUT IT’S NOT SO…IT’S JUST A MISUNDERSTANDING….WHEN WE LOOK AROUND WE SEE THAT THERE IS WAY MORE LOVE,LIGHT,HOPE AND OPPORTUNITY THAN WE CAN EVER IMAGINE !!!!!!

 So this is the end of EPISODE 2…I know I bored you to hell with my awkward and boring story…but I promise that EPISODE 3 will be the final episode !!!!

Dreams [EPISODE 2 – A DREAM TO SING WITH BTS !  and MY FIRST SONG ] PART 1

(I don’t know why it took so long for me to write the 2nd episode but here it is..so do give it a read...this is part 1 by the way :)))

 Year : 2019 ( 2 years later )

So during these two years Augustina had made a lot of cover songs and posted them on youtube…she tried to make a cover of almost every other song!!! You name it…songs by every other artist…BTS,Christina Aguilera,Charlie Puth,Justin Bieber,Justin Timberlake,Alessia Cara,Selena Gomez…she made covers as much as she could and posted them….though she did not receive that much attention she worked hard…

One fine day in the year 2018, she just wanted to go and check out her channel…she didn’t expect anything much… she just wanted to look at the number of views…

And then she received 2 notifications…and she was on cloud nine..

She just got two comments on one of her cover songs!!!!!!!!!!

it’s nothing much if you look at it for the first time but it means something great to a person who has never had any comments…it just made her feel like maybe she is actually doing good!!!

She was more than happy and this just motivated her to work even harder.

And then days passed and came the year 2019…

But something had changed this year….Augustina stopped posting covers…her dreams were buried underneath the expectations of people….She was good in studies and because of that people didn’t pay much attention to her affinity towards music..Moreover she had given up too easily just because of the fact that she was not getting that much views on her cover songs and she started to think that maybe she was just wasting all her time over something which was never meant to be…

She was doing well in studies and had almost forgot about songs..she stopped listening to music completely and occasionally when someone asked her about singing,she just used to brush away the topic with a nod and a smile..

One fine day in the month of july,Augustina was just sitting in front of the TV and scrolling through the pages of her Biology Textbook.The TV was set to the channel VH1 and she was just trying to find something on her textbook when she heard a song playing on the TV…

The music video was really colourful and she somehow liked the song too…she couldn’t catch the name of the artist but she saw the song name…’BOY WITH LUV’ it was….

She immediately searched the song on Youtube…the artist was a boy band named BTS…

She had heard the name of this band almost 3 years ago…she remembered hearing a few of her friends talking about this band and looking at the pictures of this band on the cover of their monthly school magazine…she didn’t pay much attention to them at that time because somehow she was not that interested then…but ironically…call it fate or whatever you want to…she came across the same band 3 years later….

MAYBE THIS WAS GOD’S PLAN OF MAKING HER AWARE OF HER PURPOSE IN LIFE….

After listening to other’s songs of BTS, like MAKE IT RIGHT and HOUSE OF CARDS…She couldn’t help but start to admire them…

And one day suddenly she knew what her dream would be and what she wanted to do in life…

SHE WANTED TO BECOME A SINGER AND COLLABORATE WITH BTS !!!!SHE WANTED TO MAKKE SONGS FOR PEOPLE !!SHE WANTED TO SING IN FRONT OF A HUGE AUDIENCE AND WORK HARD AND MAKE MUSIC FOR FOREVER !!!

Well at first glance this dream looks just near to impossible…but she believed that she could..

So her first step to becoming a singer would have to be to make her own songs…and she had literally no idea how to make a song…so she tried to learn…

The first song that she wrote was ‘MISUNDERSTANDING”….She wanted to produce the song professionally but because of COVID 19…she couldn’t…which meant she had to do it all by herself…she started to learn through Youtube !!! After a few weeks she started to produce her song…it was not that good but atleast she tried to do something..which is better than nothing…..

She was expecting a lot from this song….probably getting famous or something like that…but it didn’t happen….

At that time she was heartbroken and shattered because she was expecting too much….but now she knows that it was a wonderful learning experience for her….she learned something she never would have imagined…and this made her even more confident and happy….

OHHHHHHHH MYYYYY GODDDDDDD !!!!

I THINK I JUST FORGOT TO DO MY HOMEWORK !!!!!! ! I’M finished nowww !!

And once again 15 year old Augustina forgot to do her maths homework…and was trying her best to come up with another excuse…

Augustina – should I tell our teacher  that my copy disappeared should I say that somebody stole it???

         I really don’t want to get scolded

 Anwesha : Chill….we forgot too…and guess what our teacher is going to forget about the homework too!!!!!!

 Augustina : I hope so !!

        And she was damn right,the teacher forgot about the homework that day!!

 Later that day …….

 Baishali  – Hey I saw your cover that day on youtube !! It’s good for your first cover….

 Purbachi - WHAT??? YOU MADE A COVER SONG??? What’s the name?? I’ll check it out too !!

 Augustina – We don’t talk anymore is the song !!! I made it on smule !! do like and share okay !!!

 Purbachi – sureeeeeeeeee !!!

 Augustina had taken vocal training for almost 6 years…so by 2017 she thought it’d be a good start by posting covers on youtube….she didn’t have her own channel so she posted her first cover of “we don’t talk anymore” on her father’s channel…While augustina was happy that a few of her friends appreciated her first step towards her dream….but she knew there were others too who didn’t like her newfound hobby of making cover songs…..

 Classmate 1 : she thinks she will be able to sing…ha ha ha…..i never want to listen to that voice of hers…“AUGUSTINA THE SINGER” ….HA HAHA……sounds damn funny doesn’t it????

Classmate 2 : I guess even her friends are just telling her they’ll listen to her cover so that she doesn’t feel bad….how pitiful !!!

Classmate 3 – she says she has taken vocal training…I really doubt it too…she rarely sings in front of us..

 While they were talking augustina just heard everything…she didn’t feel bad…people talking like this was common for her now…the reason she didn’t sing much in front of her class was because of all the mocking….she didn’t even start singing and there they were giving all kinds of bored looks...once when she was about to go to audition for the inter house singing competition and was telling her friends…one of her classmates just walked up to her and said “you better not go to sing….i’m not being rude but I doubt that you will get selected…..don’t stress too much about things you have no idea about….!!!”……and that made her to feel dejected again…

But she didn’t mind too much…after all she had friends who always helped her out and motivated her for everything she did..….and she just stopped thinking about that

 The rest of the day went well….

She then came home after school and then worked according to her usual routine…but all this time she had something in mind….a person….someone she had a huge crush on…..the person for whom she made the cover of the song “we don’t talk anymore” which was just relative to the situation she was facing with that person right now….

 She was thinking : “will he listen to it?...he probably won’t….why will he anyway ? he doesn’t even like me !!...i should just stop thinking about him and concentrate on my homework “….

 TUITION CLASSES

 Flowrida : Hey! You are always the first person to come to tuitions…..always on time huh??

 Kabita : Yaaa Flowri, we both know why she comes so early….don’t we august??

 Augustina : To be honest I must actually thank him….just because of him I posted my first cover song on youtube….do you guys know that I’ve always been thinking of posting covers but I couldn’t but this time I did???i should really thank him !!

 Swagata : You always end up giving credits to other people….especially him …take a little bit of credit for yourself too !!!

 Augustina : Stop….He’s just behind you all!!! By the way did you all listen to my cover song?? It’s the first time I’ve uploaded a cover song so you three better check it out and share it other wise I’ll…

 (just then augustina’s crush came towards her with his friends Rahul and Abhinav)

 CRUSH: Hi Augustina ! I checked your cover song…it’s good…keep it up !! ( and he walked away )

 Augustina : Thanks !

 Flowrida : Did you see that ???...we want a treat tomorrow….

 Swagata : TREATTTTT TREATTTT !!!!

 Kabita : TREATTTTTTTT !!

 Augustina : who gives a treat for something like this ???? concentrate guys..sir is teaching something 

 Flowrida : Aishhhh this girlll….she always makes us do things so that she can talk to him and then starts ignoring us…yaaaa I’ll just go and tell him that you like him

 Augustina : noooooooo….okay okay I’ll give you all a treat okay??

 Kabita : Flowri..this trick of yours always works!!!...

 (all four of them had a good laugh and then after tuition they headed back to their homes )

  AFTER A MONTH

 After almost a month Augustina checked out her cover song…”10 views and 3 likes”….

 To herself : “ Well I think it’s not that bad….no subscribers as yet but I think 10 views for my first video is a pretty good start and atleast two other people liked it !!!”

 And this was the beginning of a journey she had chosen to undertake….which was full of turns and twists and turmoils…..

so i have been writing a story....my story of how i started loving music...started making music...all the bittersweet things i’ve faced and experiences i’ve had so that anybody else out there facing the same things can get a little bit of motivation and encouragement from my story...and i’ll be releasing the 1st episode of my story by next week! :)
