You know how in that one Overblot AU you have where the Overblot boys transform into their Overblot form when tired and stuff. Consider that Idia and Ortho technically both have Overblot forms, and thus cue the First Years having a heart attack when they see Ortho in his Overblot form for the first time since Idia and Ortho overblotted at STYX, away from everyone else. And all the while Yuu is like 'Yeah, that's Ortho'.

Anyhow, you brought up a very good idea of this Au, mainly how the Shroud bros work, bc, out of all, their overBlot conditions were different by all means.

When I was a wee wee dumb child... Surprisingly, I had a lot of toy cars and trucks. Some of them, I fucking dismembered to see what's inside and then reassemble them. What was interesting out of this was that I tended to put random shit inside if they had space, then close them back together.

I brought that up, for the sole motive that it's similarly to how Ortho works in this Au.

Imagine that for him, his whole Phanthom/overBlot being shoved all in the memory card. Taking that as the safe and sturdy material source from whom Ortho could take a more human-looking form.

But it was different.

You see, as I debated in my various double Isekai aus, the og Ortho was a completely separated entity from robot Ortho. So in the Isekai series, them meeting is 2 people interacting and becoming friends, showing how many differences they have in between them.(the best examples I could give were the magical girl Isekai and jjk Isekai, where there is literally a whole mountain of differences)

In here's not the same. The og Ortho and the robo Ortho have way too many similarities, to the point where, when they merge together, they become 1 entity that is a total mix of both. Kind and efficient like robo Ortho, but also outspoken and a bit more rash like og Ortho. Thus, he would experience moodswings sometimes or very visible changes in behavior.

How Ortho would be post book 6 is a whole other can of worms.

Like at first, when he presents back, everyone has a surprise when they see a fully human Ortho. He was moving and looking like a completely normal human, down to everything.

Then he goes back to a robot look the very next day. Sometimes he's half and half, but most times is either fully hooman or fully robot. No one really was trying to question it, or more like, they were afraid to question it, in case Ortho would show heavens know what.

The answer was painfully simple: it's his overBlot form, all toned down. When he gets extremely tired, his overBlot form constricts down into the robot body, thus relying more on the mechanical aspect of himself. When he's in high energy, he's looking fully human.

The only instance when you see his full overBlot form is when he gets mad or very scared. It's the fight or flight reflex when he's scared, hence if he's not running away, expect a bigass punch.

It's also a bit terrifying to see him changing forms if you don't know what really went down with him. Mostly because blot literally pours over from his robot body or gets sucked in. Pretty scary if you think about. :D

I guess Idia is also a bit guilty of the, sometimes, bratty attitude, bc he keeps spoiling him. :'3

uugugugugu even though I said I wouldn’t take so long on the next update... it’s been almost four months !!! I’m so sorry!! While I did draw a couple of one-shots during this time as distractions I will admit that I really struggled drawing this too... But!! I’m not going to sulk! I can do that in private. Let’s talk about the one thing on everyone’s minds:

This is why Sasuke isn’t purple.

In all seriousness I just thought it’d be funny if he were a realistic snake, and it’s when he’s “cutie-fied” in someone’s mind that he becomes purple and round.

I bet once Shioriko starts getting closer with Ayumu, she might blink one day and notice that Sasuke’s become purple LMAO

Next question:

YEAH I really went and did that in this story. Yes I’ve been on this 18 month journey fully knowing I was going to do this to my favourite character! Do I feel bad? Ehh... maybe a little! I hope I was able to pull this part of the story off. I don’t feel particularly confident about it. Just know that I did try my hardest to make this feel genuine.

Man, I hope people don’t get mad at me ahahahaha. I’d talk more about this but I feel that’d be tapping into spoiler territory. Maybe I’ll save it for a discussion when this series finishes. 

As trivia, I had this planned since the beginning. Back when Yuu Takasaki didn’t have a name and we didn’t really know what her personality was going to be like. I just think it’s interesting that this scene kind of formed along side my understanding of Yuu as a character.

But yes, I did struggle making this comic. It’s the longest yet, sitting at 27 pages. Somehow I keep making these longer and longer (and I’m certain it’s not necessary, but I can reflect on that in my art review for 2021.) I also had a hard time figuring out the lighting, I think I must’ve tried 3-4 different approaches to the same mood. It took a looonng while to settle on a colouring strategy for this comic. I hope the outcome is pleasing to look at!

It’s really hard to  talk about this comic without going deep into the story... but I will resist...!! I guess the last thing I want to talk about is that there are numerous references to the earlier comics in this series. I had a lot of fun mirroring previous scenes and having little easter eggs. If you’re able to pick them out it’d make me really happy!

(I wonder if  anyone noticed this throwback LOL)

I hope you all can forgive me for not including Setsuna in this update, by the way. Especially with how she kind of took a backseat last update too. This part is just Ayumu-centric. Setsuna will get her time to shine very soon!

Anyhow, now Ayumu’s come clean and and her worries are a lot less cluttered than they used to be. It’s a lot easier to think when you work through your problems step-by-step!

There’s one final loose thread to deal with and I think we all know what that is. Only one chapter left in this story, please look forward to it!

Or: The way to Yuu’s heart is copious amount of food

Yuu has always loved eating and discarding the whole getting iskeai’d affair, she had a whole new world’s worth of food to explore

So it made the experience slightly better, maybe

The tagline of “Food so good, I came through a different dimension to eat!” is probably not the best

Anyhow, Yuu started to cope by exploring new foods

Which there were lots of due to how magic interacted with the ecosystem of twisted wonderland

Jewel berries, winged fish, animal hybrids and so much more

Mostro Lounge became one of her favorite places due to the seasonal menu it provides

Also, her part time job place as the allowance she’s given by Crowley doesn’t support a wide range of food

With recipes from her previous world, Yuu contributes to new menu items

Starting from an idea of the dish, she goes on and experiments with the ingredients she is able to use 

The dishes are then to be tasted by someone, which were usually Jade & Floyd, before it can go on the menu

And of course, she is paid a hefty penny for each dish that goes on the menu 

As time goes on, it becomes obvious to everyone that Yuu holds an extradentary amount of interest in food

Constantly checking out the food and beverage section of bookstores

Being much more interested in the taste of herbs in herbology classes rather than medicinal uses

Having different meals almost everyday due to the amount of choices she has never tried

It’s also hard to ignore Yuu’s starry eyes and squeals every time she eats something good

Trey also saves some cake for Yuu during Heartslabyul tea parties

Cater shares food guides of good restaurants in the town around NRC

Deuce, Ace and Jack sometimes get dragged out with Yuu to purchase ingredients 

As Epel is from Village of Harvest, Yuu finds great interest in talking about corps that are in twisted wonderland

Sebek joins in with plants native to Valley of Thorns

Life seems fine and dandy but it wouldn’t be normal if fate doesn’t throw some curve balls right?

A box of high class sweets everyday from Leona, which were passed by different Savanclaw students 

Somedays Yuu would be stopped by Trey who would passed her some of his new creations

Ortho knocks on the door with a package of high quality of fruits by Idia 

During one of their walks, Malleus hands out a bottle of nectar collected from Golden Flowers

Yuu’s been enjoying the heck out of the week she received all those items

Even Ace and Deuce gets to share some of it due to large quantity

Sometimes they wonder if Yuu’s stomach is a gateway to another universe due to the amount of food she stuffs herself with

Unlike a certain someone that doesn’t get why she’s given so many gifts, “Isn’t it because we’re friends?”

Ace does notice the looks Yuu’s been receiving from her admirers 

“Yuu, which gift did you like the most?”

“Eh, that’s such a hard question~ Can’t I say I like them all equally?”

“Good luck with that.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

Kalim: Hm, but is it really okay to only narrow it down to Scarabia's students? Because my family, servants, citizens of the country of Hot Sands, and the teachers, my friends from the other dorms, the ghosts of the school… Once you actually start counting, there are so many people I want to make happy, there's no limit. So in the end, it's roughly "everyone". Hahaha.

Deuce: There's actually no meaning to it if the range of your wish is that big…

Grim: That's so weird!

Deuce: Hey! Don't say that when I tried to be especially ambiguous.

Grim: But don't you want to make a wish for yourself? Is there nothing in particular you wish for?

Kalim: But it's for me! If everyone is happy then I too will feel happy! So it's still a wish for me, right?

Trey: Being on your own is kind of difficult when you live in a dorm right? Everyone is noisy and while liveliness isn't necessarily bad, you also need some quietness. Isn't that what you want, Jamil?

Jamil: As expected of Trey. Thank you for considering my feelings. But do you also wish something like that, considering you could deduct that so smoothly?

Trey: Haha…who knows.

Yuu: By the way, did you decide on a place to travel to?/What do you want to try doing when you go traveling on your own?

Jamil: I'm… fine with any destination. Hm… Now that you mention it, I haven't thought about making any concrete plans yet. In any case, I want to peacefully relax in a place where no one knows me. But well, at least until I graduate from college. Until my wish is granted, I'll browse through some travel magazines.

Trey: That's good. I also pray that your modest wish will get granted.

I've always had this nagging my mind, but do you think any of the dorm leaders will be willing to get along with Malleus? Then there's Yuu acting as a bridge between everyone, they're what's helping everyone cooperate. Anyhow, do you think Yuu will try to get the other leaders to get along better with Malleus or what? Sorry if this sounds wonky

I’d say some of them can? But perhaps if they need to work together. The dorm leaders do think he has an unapproachable aura about him, but it’s not like they’re going to have a less than civil discussion with him... except Leona that is.

Riddle in his ghost marriage card does talk to Malleus, who had approached him. The former did think Malleus came to frost the roses (this was a reference to Maleficent but I forgot if she actually did freeze flowers). But they ended up talking, and Riddle even took Malleus’ teachings to heart, so much so that it gave him the motivation boost to continue fighting the ghosts.

Leona... we all know the animosity between him and Malleus. Aside from the fact Diasomnia won for two straight years because of Malleus, Leona dislikes Malleus because the latter has everything he wants: the right to the throne, people willing to serve him, talent that would cause people to talk about him highly.

Azul wants to reach out to Malleus (probably for business reasons, since Malleus is the crown prince of the Valley of Thorns), but he has to be careful about that because of his power. It’s why he reaches out to Sebek (Lab Sebek story) and Silver (Azul Halloween story) and made some sort of deal with them (well, in Silver’s case, Azul helped him so Silver would feel indebted to him).

Kalim is pretty friendly to Malleus, but he is friendly to everyone, so it’s not a surprise. They interacted in his robe SR where Kalim was talking about how dreary the colors of the NRC robes are but Malleus revealed their beauty (forgot what he said exactly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯).

Vil and Malleus interacted in the Halloween event, where Malleus gave him a long lecture about the difference between dragons like him and eastern dragons (my, how Malleus learned so much in such a short time hahaha). Additionally, Vil was the one to have pointed out that no one invited him in one dorm leader meeting (specifically the one in ch2).

Idia... I would have said Idia wouldn’t even talk to Malleus, but they did interact in Dances and Wishes, where Idia had to get his wish and found out Malleus wants his Gaogao Dragon to have friends. And Idia actually helped him. 🥺

As for Yuu, well, Crowley did let them study in NRC because they’re able to keep everyone together in the Dwarf mines, so probably, they can help the dorm heads cooperate together! But who knows? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Not everything can be up to Yuu, after all.

Yarichin Bitch Club.

Ever since I had the misfortune of having that opening theme song stuck in my head because of countless memes and tiktok edits. . . I have wished for days to have the ability to create a time machine to prevent myself from saying. . .

"okay, fine I'll bite the bullet and check out the source material."

Now if you're reading this and thinking, "huh. I never heard of this series..." let me just tell you, GOD I WISH I WAS YOU RIGHT NOW.

No one was going to tell me this BL Manga about a "pHoTogRaPhY cLuB" wasn't completely INSANE? I was just supposed to find out Three Volumes Later??

Now some of y'all who have read the source material might be thinking. . .

"Okay Callisto, get over it it's obviously supposed to be a comedy it's not meant to be taken seriously 🙄"

And to that I say... I mean I guess??? But do we really need all of THAT to make it a comedy?? I feel like you could still have an entertaining comedy BL Manga without 90% of the shit that goes on in that series..... But that's just ✨my two cents✨ take it or leave it.

FIRST THINGS FIRST, here's all the stuff I'd automatically remove from this series off the bat.

💀 The Gang Bangs.

💀 Teacher x Student Relationships.

💀 In fact all instances of unconsensual acts & sexual assault committed in this manga. Throw all of that away.

💀 the fact that the term Bisexual was used as a replacement for the term switch, and had nothing to do with the sexual orientation itself whatsoever.

💀 The High School Setting.

💀 Whatever the fuck Yuri was on.

💀 90% of the hyper sexualized traits these characters had.

Now here's what I'd change to make it better... Basically here's an AU of what if it was actually a normal photography club....

Actually make it a fucking Photography Club. Not a sex club that's in a fuckin HIGH SCHOOL. Hell, you could just throw this in a college setting too, for more mature themes.

Main character, Takashi Toono a college student that's trying to get out of his comfort zone more. So he decides to join the photography club, because he thinks it's not demanding to require anything of him compared to any other club on campus. He knows completely NOTHING about photography, and doesn't have any passion for the art media. His Character growth would be learning to appreciate the art media While learning what it means to him, as well as who he wants to be as he enters the adult world as a young adult.

Yuu Kashima, can stay as Takashi's love interest. Also, I feel like all the members should have a specific style of taking photos that correlates with their personality in some way. Yuu's photography style would be something the lines of Candid photography which is a type of photography style that's main focus is to take photos in the moment or in surprise. Something he has already done when he took that photo of Takashi. I also feel like Yuu would be the one to keep pushing Takashi to love photography, and understand it's more than snapping a photo.

Kyousuke Yaguchi, can stay as the Love Rival for Yuu Kashima and overall keep his personality? It was actually pretty interesting and I liked his Character dynamics with everyone else. Kyousuke Yaguchi can also stay as the outsider that directly / indirectly influences Everyone else in the club. Causing Takashi to explore his feelings and expand his social group, and make him think about what he wants to capture in his photos. Overall the same interaction between Kyousuke & Yuu Kashima with their rivalry and brotherly relationship at it's breaking point. As well as, Kyousuke and Yui's relationship being tense with miscommunication.

Yui Tamura, I imagine Yui's photography style would be more of Adventure (capturing shots in the great outdoors, usually involving extreme sports; mountain-climbing, skiing, kayaking, sky diving, etc) & Sports Photography. Which could create interesting interactions between Kyousuke and Yui. Cue Yui trying to cover up the fact that, every time the soccer club commissions Yui to take some photos of their club activity to promote their club, all of Yui's photos are of Kyousuke playing soccer. Causing Yui to complain to Kyousuke to get out of his shots and that he's ruining them by being in all of them. So, Kyousuke just shouts back "then stop following me around with your camera, DUMBASS". Just imagine Them bickering, because Yui 100% did not delete the photo he captured of Kyousuke getting knocked out by a soccer ball to the face.

Itsuki Shikatani would definitely be in the club, but only because he prefers to have his photos be taken, more than he likes taking photos himself. He would probably be a cross dresser, who enjoys dressing up in feminine articles of clothing and posing for photos. Everyone on campus who doesn't know Itsuki personally, always asks who the beautiful woman in these photos are, the club president and vice President always just says it's one of their cousins that happen to be in town. If Itsuki had to have a style of photography, it would probably be fashion.

Toru Fujisaki. . . This one is difficult only because his Character is purely centered around Yuki's Character. . . So I'm going to take some creative liberties here. . . Probably really insecure about himself, because he feels like he's a wall flower that's really forgettable, that no one cares about. Although, it's mostly because he's shooting himself in the foot by not letting one have the opportunity to get to know him to give him a chance, in the first place. Until, he meets Yuki who makes him realize that not everyone sees him as a wall flower and someone can notice his nicer qualities about himself that he's hiding away. Toru's Character development in this AU, would be for for him to learn to love himself more and try to trust people to accept him. As well as to expand his social circle with the support of not only Yuki, but the Photography Club as well. At first I bet, he would only feel comfortable with Yuki taking his photos and modeling only for him, but over time he'd let the other club members take his photo when he gets more confident in himself. While also, developing his own style of photography, that isn't just "cute photos of Yuri", it would probably be Still Life or Portrait.

Ayato Yuri, okay first. . . I'm still not over the fact that this boy was written like a deranged feral child, that was given access to a pornhub account way too early in life. While being dropped on his head several times, before and after his first words. Anyhow. . . I feel like Yuri would fit the trope of the genius, that no one understands in any capacity. His mind is 10 steps ahead of everyone else and he forgets to slow down and explain what the fuck he's talking about, when he goes into a passionate rant about photography. With endless rambles about golden ratio, gold lighting and blue lighting, and how he needs these specific props, that don't seem to fit the theme of the photo at all to make it perfect. But despite that, his photos always come out beautifully. No one can deny that his methods might be extremely weird, but they always work out way too well to give anyone the opportunity to chastise him. Anyone trying to work with Yuri often leaves the experience with a beautiful photo in hand, but an enormous headache. Even members within the photography club can't keep up with Yuri most of the time either, he's often in his own little world that just makes sense to only him. He can be a eccentric and passionate about his hobby and goofy to not make people feel too uncomfortable with the huge distance he unintentionally places between himself and others when he doesn't bother to slow down for anyone. But, he still has a good heart to make sure everyone gets a piece of art that'll always be memorable to them. Additionally, with that being said I feel like Toru would be the few people that would consistently attempt to keep up with Yuri, when he's a light year away from everyone else in his rambles. Toru wouldn't shut down and show disinterest in what Yuri says when he can no longer keep up, he's always being supportive and encouraging Yuri to continue because he knows it makes him happy to be able to express his passion. And sometimes, Yuri will pause and explain a bit to let Toru keep up with him, because he just truly appreciates someone trying to get closer to him, without making him feel bad. I would say Yuri is a jack of all trades when it comes to Photography styles. There isn't a single style he is terrible at, but he truly excels at Abstract Photography.

Koshiro Itome I think Koshiro would fit the silent type trope, but with a lot on his mind. Always over thinking things, and although he looks calm his mind is always buzzing with 500 things at once. Because, of this the only way he can find some semblance of peace is by going out for a nature walk and letting the environment take his mind off things. He's always worries about deadlines for projects, meeting up with clients face to face for the first time, whether or not a company will like his photos he submitted, if his boyfriend Akemi is okay, what if he doesn't find anything to take a picture of or if he's missing the perfect shot right now, will the club be okay after they all graduate, what else can be learn to improve his skills etc etc. Akemi can always tell when he's actually calm and when he's just zoned out and drowning in his own worries behind his calm demeanor. Luckily for Akemi, he knows exactly what to do to make him feel better, like a life boat to his pleas for help in the vast ocean of his thoughts. Koshiro is 100% the mom friend in the club, always helping newbies out on how to properly take care of their equipment, and the general basics, stopping people from bickering and carrying around a Mary Poppins bag of useful items. "Damn I forgot to bring my infrared lens with me!" "It's okay I brought a spare, here you go." Koshiro's photography style would be Nature & Wild life, cue everyone wondering how the hell he managed to capture a photo of baby bear and it's mother so close up with such clarity with the equipment he has on him. It should be impossible there's no way he could it's just unlikely, but all Koshiro does in response is just shrugging calmly "I just slowly walked up to them, and took some photos and went my way after I was done, they weren't bothered at all." At first no one believes him, until they see the next photo of him petting the mother bear, and within the next photo of him holding the baby bears paw. I like to think Akemi is always bragging at how his boyfriend is basically a Disney Prince, with the way animals just trust him enough to let Koshiro approach to take the photos. Of course Akemi has the proof that his Boyfriend is not making any of these up. With photo evidence he had taken from a incredibly safe distance away, of Koshiro just interacting with wildlife at such a close distance. Because, Akemi was not in fact gifted the ability of a Disney prince, to be doing that shit that Koshiro pulls on a daily basis. I feel like because of this Akemi can be a bit over protective of Koshiro, always telling him to text him before he goes to work and he gets back home, so he knows a feral bear didn't devour his boyfriend in the woods. He tries his best to join Koshiro while he works so he can be at peace of mind that Koshiro is in fact safe, but they both know it's very difficult for Koshiro to focus. When his boyfriend is being incredibly cute how could he remember he's here to take photos of the wild life and not his boyfriend? That and Akemi always accidentally scares away the wildlife, when he accidentally reads the animals body language wrong as any attempt to devour his boyfriend. Akemi will lose 25 years of his life with amount of false alarms, he has encountered in those damn woods.

Keiichi Akemi, Akemi is definitely one of those smug bastards, that has an ulterative motive or an ace up his sleeve. Appearing sweet and kind until you realize it was a facade. But one way or another you find yourself wrapped up in his convoluted plans, where you're either in his photoshoot as a model or you're carrying all his equipment, while he goes from one job to the next. Akemi's photography style would be Wedding Photography & Landscape something he definitely would've picked up from the countless outings he had with Koshiro in the outdoors. Akemi's friends are almost always married or paired up together, and that's no coincidence. This man is a match-making demon, a hopeless romantic who loves to see a budding romance finally bloom. So, he can snag a fat check when they thank him for brining them together and hire him as the official wedding photographer. His intuition is never wrong about the perfect pairings and how to push the right buttons to move things along, without getting directly involved until the right time comes. Something, that will be a pain in Toono's ass down the line as he stays in the Photography Club.

Overall, I feel like this could've been a really nice BL Manga which was a love letter to the art media of Photography. As Toono figures out what Photography means to him and how he wants to use it to express his feelings. "Why do you take photos? What do you want to say in these photos and tell people without the ability of using your words?" I feel like at first Toono, would just be confused "it's just a photo what's so special about it? You take it as a cool momento for something."

But, as time goes on, and he learns why everyone in the club enjoys photography and why they're here, he learns it's more than that. Whether it be to vent something you're unable to express in words, express your love for something or someone, to tell a story, to inspire others, to feel free, to share something with someone. All these different forms of expression, will let Toono figure out what he wants from photography and how he plans on expressing it.

Also instead of the whole "have sex with someone in one month or we gang bang you against your will" dilemma. . . I feel like another suspenseful situation could have been, "Create a photo album, that will impress all of us in one month, or you have to help us all out with our next projects." Which at first doesn't sound terrible, until you remember...

Yui is a thrill seeker, and would probably push you off a cliff to snag a cool photo. Or force you to be his pack mule as you climb up serval mountains.

Itsuki would force you to cross dress and model different fashion styles to make you look like a clown for his own amusement. All the while he revels in your shame, and points out how these colors don't suit you at all, but ignores the fact he's the one who put you in that outfit in the first place.

Yuri is such a wild card that you honest to God don't know what the fuck will happen to you, it'll be like being on an acid trip the whole time. And not knowing what will happen brings you more fear than knowing what will.

Koshiro would probably bring you to a wolf den full of hungry ravenous wolves, and let you accidentally get eaten alive by a pack of wolves. While he takes pictures of puppies, without a care in the world.

Akemi... Akemi just scares Toono, he seems like the safest bet out of everyone else. But Toono knows better to trust that sweet smile. Toono would be safer walking into Satan's house than spend a day with Akemi at work. Whatever he would have planned for them if he were to lose this challenge would not be good for his sanity. He hates how he knows Akemi wants just that for Toono to know he's not going to be safe either. Akemi would probably make him cry with prying questions about his romance life. While hitting too close to home with all his assumptions about him that he can't argue back. It's losing battle from there on out.

The only problem for Toono is Everyone in this club is so different, that it's almost impossible to be able to impress them all. None of them agree, which style is better or having almost anything in common photography style wise. Toono can't just half-heartedly replicate anyone's style either, he's going to actually try and fail miserably to understand this art media better, like everyone else. I think after losing the challenge and spending time with everyone, Toono would come to really like the club and everyone else in it.

And that's my ✨two cents✨ on how this story could've been better if it didn't focus too much on the whole pwp aspect.

With all the customers coming in, it was easy to forget everything but the rush in their little cafe. Including where certain green sprigs had been hung up and where they hadn't been. Thankfully the rush had slowed down to a more relaxed and sedate pace. Rather than sitting or standing idle though as they waited for the next round of customer traffic, Yuu spent his time helping Mika to clean up tables and seats.

"Whew, what a day huh?" he said, a warm smile on his face. He'd always known that they would be popular, but he hadn't realized just how he'd end up being. "We may end up having to restock after all by the end of the night if this keeps up."

He was about to comment on how the decorations had been a huge hit with their patrons too when a very high pitched and girlish squeal cut him off. He was instantly alert, jerking a slight bit to see what the problem was. But the girl in question had a huge and beaming smile on her face, her form shaking as if she could barely contain herself while she pointed at something above his head.

It appeared that the mistletoe that had been hung in different areas of the little cafe to get customers, had ended up trapping them. Trapping in the best way though. He still couldn't keep the blush from rising to his cheeks though as he looked back to Mika.

"This must be Karma," he lightly joked, cheeks darkening further as he stepped closer to wrap his arms around the back of the taller man's neck. "Merry early Christmas, Mika."

Even as he raised to his toes and his eye lids lowered, he could see a great many phones out, recording or taking pictures of this moment between them. But that meant little to him and even less when he pressed his lips to Mika's own.

“Ah, it’s been a whirlwind, to say the least,” Mikaela breathes, stretching idly in between wiping down tables. It was the least they could to make cleaning up at the end of the night quick and efficient without compromises. Standing too long behind the counter got his feet itching to take him elsewhere, even if it was essentially chores. “We definitely need to keep an eye on the coffee. Everyone’s been asking for hot drinks left and right---Huh?”

He can’t help but blink, the indescribable joy on their customer’s face very telling of something they were clearly not aware of. Oh.. he remembered her, a frequent customer that seemed to really get a kick out of the fact they had opened a café together in the first place. Well, nonetheless, he was happy that people had openly supported the two of them together, in addition to their food, drink, and endeavor. It was all for the people that wanted to support them, anyhow.

Eventually, he looks above, and the mistletoe hangs innocently between them, and immediately his cheeks ignite. Oops, the hunters had fallen into their own trap. “Oh, whoops,” the blond can’t help but laugh, content to lace his hands behind Yuu’s back, sky blue looking away for a moment to address the piqued interest of the patrons that took notice. “If you’ll excuse us for a moment,” he hums with a smile, embracing the holiday cheer as well as his partner in crime.

“It’s always Christmas with you,” he chuckles softly, easily meeting halfway as lips touch, like a warm hearth of fire. Mikaela has to convince himself to pull away lest they’re stuck there forever ( and for the sheer fact the still had a few hours of people to contend with ), tuning out the world. When he finally does, though, he looks more content than ever. Gently, he unwraps his arms only to caress Yuu’s cheek. Sure, it’d be a spectacle to those totally infatuated with their infatuation with one another, but he didn’t mind. He didn’t mind being unabashedly himself. “Let’s get back to work, Yuu.”

i love shinoa too but i can't seem to like mika. its not because i ship yuunoa i just hate how he acts rude to the squad even though they're nothing but nice to him. did you ever have this problem?

I keep forgetting about this account so my reply on this is very late. I apologize for that.

Anyhow, I never had the problem because Mika is one of my favorite characters in this series. I liked him from the get go :)

I’m at risk of preaching to a wall, but I have to throw this in in hopes you’ll have an open mind. While it is fair to dislike the way Mika treats those in Shinoa Squad (I don’t really like his behavior either, it can be uncalled for.) I don’t think it’s fair to completely hate him for his actions when you look at things from his point of view.

As readers, we are given a look at all/most of the characters from an outside point. Mika doesn’t have that luxury.

He allowed his arrogance to get the better of him and was manipulated by Ferid, ultimately resulting in the deaths of the people he loved the most. Krul treated him with kindness, but obviously she still saw him as a pet, or an object to be owned, to some extent and made it clear she only kept him around because he was to be used. He has seen the horrors of the SotE experiments firsthand.

He knows nothing about the squad. He doesn’t know any of their sob story backgrounds just as they know nothing about the abuse he underwent for four years in Sanguinem as an incomplete vampire.

The most Mika knows is that they were present in Shinjuku when Yuu went berserk (confirming his suspicions that he was being used in experimentation) and that they rescued him once. But so what if they rescued him? Krul also saved his life, but solely for her own reasons/to use him.

It’s understandable that he’s wary and I really damn the fact we endured a three month timeskip because we probably would have seen some more development between him and the others. It’s also important to remember, Yuu took four years to stop being a jerk and open up to the others.

Mika has only had 3-4 months and his humanity is depleting as well. His character is doing pretty good with his reactions to everyone imo.

I hope I didn’t make it seem like you HAD to like Mika, That wasn’t my intention. Just my two cents on why it isn’t really fair to hate him for his realistic reactions to things

Fuuka – 05

Fuuka continues to cement its role as my guilty pleasure of the Winter, thanks to its utterly shameless tendency to put protagonist Haruna Yuu in the most favorable situations imaginable, and still have him complain about it. That might sound unpleasant, but it’s actually pretty fun.

Adorable childhood friend coming by his house to reminisce? Sure, why not? Flipping through photo albums, where most of the pics are of Koyuki yelling at Yuu for various reasons, most of them related to him being a pushover? You got it! Yuu managing to blurt out that he liked her then…b-b-but not now! Seriously! (Now as well.)

Koyuki leaves suddenly, which Yuu takes as meaning he said the wrong thing, but little does he know she’s weeping tears of joy at the news her love wasn’t one-sided. I still don’t see her beating Fuuka. Fuuka’s the title.

You know what this show didn’t need? Another girl! Especially not one who is impossibly tall and gorgeous, like she just jumped out of a magazine or something. But we get one nonetheless in the person of Iwami Sara, who seems very standoffish and aloof but I’m sure is really sweet deep down.

She also happens to be the sister of Hisashi, one of the members of Hedgehogs (styled as HEDGEHOGS…because you have to YELL IT) who also graciouslly offers the use of one of his studios for the new light music club to practice…free of charge. Where’s this guy’s sense of entrepreneurialism?

In any case, the band…kinda sucks, particularly Yuu and Fuuka, but Sara is kicked off her third band and Fuuka decides to invite her into theirs, and the girl can not only play, but look very cool doing it.

After practice they head over to Denny’s, I mean Danny’s, which—wait a second…

Anyhow, the whole band is at some Denny’s ripoff, when all of a sudden everyone has somewhere to be…except Yuu and Sara. Did I mention Yuu’s face accidentally made contact with Sara’s boobs? Yeah…that happened, and then she smacked him in the face with a guitar, which should have caused a lot more damage to Yuu than it did. The magic of anime!

I’ve been ragging on this episode up to this point, but I have to say, I did not expect Sara to end up being one of Yuu’s best Twitter buddies, @0704-yamato.

It happens so subtly as you expect Sara to be bored and checking her phone with just Yuu there struggling to find words to say. Turns out Sara’s the same way: finding it far easier to communicate through tweets than with her vocal cords, which so often uses the wrong words, or the right words the wrong way, resulting in misunderstandings (and getting kicked off bands).

When Yuu first started tweeting I was like “Oh great, this gimmick again,” but it paid off big league here, from the sundae, to Sara’s sudden change of character, for which she actually apologizes for by saying “sorry for the sudden change in character!”

The next practice, held not at the full-up studio, but at Nachi’s ideal place (which he withheld so it didn’t look like he was as into this band thing as he really was), everyone has practiced a lot more, and they play a much smoother version of the show’s theme song, “Climber’s High!”

When Sara’s praise of Yuu’s progress is interrupted by Fuuka’s praise, and Yuu thanks her, Sara punishes him for allowing the interruption by jamming her guitar into his back. So this is how it’s gonna be, huh? Look out Koyuki: you’ve got more competition. (Note: next week’s episode is titled “Hinashi Koyuki”. Should be interesting.

Because my mouth is hurting like hell and it’s now a pain to talk, why not let my Yuu suffer with me as well? Hence, Yuu with no voice. 

Crowley wasn’t happy when Yuu slammed his door and started to gesture wildly at her throat

Crowley was even more unhappy when he learnt that Yuu couldn’t speak because it was a signal of something very troublesome happening

So he sent Yuu back to class with a promise that he’ll investigate 

And Yuu is really having the time of her life with no voice, not

Ace even had the guts to laugh at Yuu’s misfortune 

Thankfully Jack delivered a swift hit to Ace with a “It isn’t something funny to laugh about.”

Yuu quickly wrote a thank you with a big smiley face on a sketchbook she got for communication

So, during lunch, the first year gang asked her to recount the events for the past few days in order to find clues

Which lead to another mystery as she can’t remember what she did for the last two days

Grim is equally as clueless because he didn’t follow Yuu for those two days and opt to stay at ramshackle dorm

“. . you really are of no help.”

Anyhow, classes still need to be attended so everyone splits up and does some research on their own

The fact that Yuu lost her voice wasn’t very noticeable as she wasn’t a talkative person in the first place

But there were little things that Yuu did after she couldn’t speak

Like she pulled on Deuce’s sleeves to get his attention for something

Ace gets a little jealous that Yuu didn’t pulled his sleeve even once

Tapping a student’s shoulder to get through a tight spot

Sebek’s voice is loud as always when he speaks in place of Yuu

Or when she writes out her thoughts she would add little drawings at the end of it

Epel would sometimes draw on her sketchpad as well

Jack somehow got really good at guessing Yuu’s thoughts

2 days pass and not a word from Crowley, Yuu decides she should probably take this matter into her own hands

During those two days, Epel and Sebek got some leads as they found someone that saw her during the two days which she don’t remember about

One saw Yuu at the forest and the other heard Yuu’s voice around the same place as well

So, it’s safe to assume that something definitely happened in the forest and it’s related to her situation

As the first year gang starts getting excited about solving the case, their fun is cut short as Malleus and Lilia shows up

Malleus heard a familiar voice in the forest but found it odd since Yuu lost her voice days ago

After some threatening words, it was the doing of a fairy who heard Yuu singing in the forest  

The fairy wanted to hear Yuu sing but after a few songs Yuu had to go back

They threw a tantrum and stole Yuu’s voice and by some magic, Yuu’s memory got affected as well

Thus, Yuu got her voice back and can finally stop writing all her thoughts

All’s well that ends well
