Ship Analysis let's go.

RedCrackle, CarmIvy and Carulia.

A lot of people tend to say "Carmen said a multiple times Gray is like a big brother to her" No, she only said it twice. And after the Opera in the Outback Caper she never says it again. Besides, while talking about this she says:

"I THOUGHT I KNEW you like the big brother I never had UNTIL THAT MOMENT."

"I know, but before he was Crackle he was Gray and Gray WAS like a big brother to me."

She uses the verbs on the PAST, as in NOT ANYMORE. BLACK SHEEP SAW HIM LIKE A BROTHER, NOT CARMEN SANDIEGO. And the same logic applies to Gray. His teenage self saw Black Sheep as a sister, but that's not how his adult self sees Carmen Sandiego. Gray only FLIRTED with her when he had lost his memories. But FLIRTING isn't the only way of showing love.

And I actually liked this aspect of the finale because you can choose who Carmen goes with or if she stays alone. But at the same time I am a romance sucker and Gray and her really felt to me like the most implied ship. They have too many parallels, more than Julia and Ivy combined. They are literally red and blue. And no, Julia isn't blue either. Julia never wore blue. Not even once. Her dress at TSONTS interactive special was black, like pretty much everything she ever used(The only exception I recall is that photo of her with her mother where she's wearing pink). And I have proof:

Of course people have different perspections of color but these circles are the colors I've seen Julia wearing. At least to my eye, Julia never wore one single shade of blue(as long as I can remember). Unlike Ivy. Girl has blue eyes, her shirt sleeves were blue and she wore a light blue with lilac dress to The Need of Speed Caper(I'm not sure if that's really the name of the episode but you know what episode it is, that one with Trey Sterling where a badass biker Carmen fights with Zack and Ivy because they messed up in stealing a super car and for arrested, we're introduced to The Mechanic and The Driver and yay found family has an official headquarters now).

The thing is, Carulia can have different interpretations to every single one of their interactions. You can see them as romantic or not. Meanwhile, with Red Crackle and Carmivy, the romance scenes are clearly romance scenes. I think Julia showed some little interest in Carmen, but Carmen never showed interest in Julia. And I'll tell you why:Carmen meets Julia on a train in India, to keep an eye on Paper Star, where we have the following dialogue.

Carmen:Is this seat taken? (Sits before having an answer)

Julia:Actually yes. But, feel free to use it, until my partner returns.

Carmen:Partner? (Looks to the side, to the other seat while the camera focus on a suitcase with the C.D initials)

Julia:(clears throat)Travel partner.

We see later on the episode that Carmen leaves the Magna Carta along with Devineaux's suitcase on the other seat she looked at. So I interpretate that Julia got it wrong what she meant and Carmen realized she was with Devineaux. Of course you can interpretate otherwise but here's the thing:Unlike Red Crackle and Carmivy, Carulia doesn't have any moment that is UNQUESTIONABLY romantic. You can always interpretate the Carulia moments as friendship or something else.

The fashion caper with the medicis dresses and hypnotized models, you can interpretate that Carmen was checking her out or analyzing her outfit to enter the runway. The Stockholm Syndrome Caper you can interpretate Julia was checking her out or she was really just concerned about Carmen freezing in the winter(which seemed more likely to me). Then Julia leaves A.C.M.E. and some people say she left because of Carmen. I definetely agree that's one of the reasons but we see that the main reason is because she wants to work more with history, her true passion. Where her heart was. And she wanted to leave because of Carmen not because she's in love with her but because she believes Carmen is good and the rest of A.C.M.E. doesn't and she doesn't want to chase someone who is doing good but as she already tried to convince people and wasn't heard, she left. Or because she doesn't understand Carmen's actions being so confusing, sometimes good, sometimes seem to be not so good so she was just sick of the mess and drama and wanted to comeback to just history which seemed to be so since when Devineaux goes to ask Julia if the "crimson ghost" was good Julia goes all like "that's a hard question to answer". At least that's my interpretation. And when Chief says something about A.C.M.E. stopping to chase Carmen and Julia goes like:"Or I'll have to retire/quit/leave all over again" it proves one of the reasons she left was Carmen, but doesn't go over the implications. It might be love, it might not be. It can be the things I stated before. Julia being "Carmen's favorite A.C.M.E. Agent" can be seen in a love light, but also in a friendship light. Julia saying "Who knew my two keen areas of interest would ever collide" which I interpretate as being closer to history and still doing super secret stuff but sure it can be Carmen. The thing is that the Carulia moments are never something SURE that only has romantic interpretation and nothing else. Carmen doesn't even show any signs of jealousy in hearing Julia is going to have lunch with Devineaux. And some people go like:She was jealous when Devineaux picks her phone. For me, seems unlikely. She could just be wondering why was Devineaux picking up her phone in her office and where Jules was, thinking Devineaux was being invasive like we know he can be sometimes. The way she partners up with Devineaux to save Julia, she would have done to save anybody else. And lastly, To Steal or Not to Steal. First having Julia to help is not even a canon event, since Carmen can save Zack and Ivy without it and then the final scene with Julia doesn't happen. Secondly, red roses definitely have romantic views but at the same time they are also a common symbol of respect. People throw them at stages, at ice skating rinks, etc, in a way of saying "Good Luck" or "Good Job", which is proven since Carmen also gives red roses to Lupe Peligro before her fight.

Some people might argue that they made Carulia that subtle to have casual representation for children in a way some parents won't complain. But you can make something less subtle but still discreet. Like Carmivy! Ivy clearly had a crush on Carmen, which Carmen seemed to reciprocate sometimes. Yes, Carmen's a flirt, but the way she looked at Ivy sometimes and smiled it was something else.

I think that what Carulia needed (besides romantic chemestry and more time to build better their relationship) is a huge moment in an episode that deepens the way they feel about one another. Like The Stockholm Syndrome Caper when Carmen is with her head on Ivy's lap, or the entirety of the chocolate factory girl's trip. Or something like the entirety of The Crackle Goes Kiwi Caper and the episode Carmen tries to rescue Gray from jail and V.I.L.E. takes him. And of course The Opera in the Outback Caper, serving both Red Crackle and Carmivy goodness. Carulia needed its own episode. When I think about The Crackle Goes Kiwi Caper my first thought it's "That's a Red Crackle episode". The same thing with Carmivy in the chocolate factory girls trip. Carulia tried to have an episode, that's when Carmen rescues her from Countess Cleo but the problem is:

1-It was the last ship episode. So they give us Carulia when we already had Red Crackle and Carmivy, who were already established first and had more developing. And it was also one of the very few last episodes so we don't see how Carulia goes from there because it doesn't have the time with such a rushed finale.

2-They didn't have "THE MOMENT". Red Crackle has "hang on tight, don't let go". Carmivy has "by Carmen Sandiego, who else?". And Carulia...?

3-They didn't have a date. Red Crackle had a coffee date, Carmivy had a fountain date(yes they were dates) and Carulia...?

I wonder how Carulia manages to, out of these three, be the ship with the least number of interactions and still feel like the most forgettable ship to me. I love both characters and their friendship but in a romantic scenario, I just don't see Carmen and Julia working. Carmen, to me seems like that kind of person that needs someone badass, who can keep up with her like Gray and Ivy, not a "cutie cutie lil bean wholesome smol uwu pie" like Julia. She may act as a badass sometimes but she's not a badass overall. Julia just seems like she would be that awkward flustered blushing mess when in love and for me, Carmen would go for someone who can be more comfortable around her, like we see she is definitely the case with Gray and Ivy.

For me, it's kinda like Carmen is Anthony Bridgerton, Julia is Edwina Sheffield/Sharma and Gray and Ivy would be Kate Sheffield/Sharma. Carmen might like Julia, but she still feels boring to Carmen.

Besides, Gray and Ivy also know Carmen for more time than Julia, what makes Carulia look, in my vision, superficial, shallow, artificial and forced. Gray, along with Shadowsan and Player, is the only person Carmen has since her past as Black Sheep and Ivy, along with Zack, were there at the very beginning of Carmen becoming The Carmen Sandiego. Compared to that, what does Julia know about Carmen? Romance requires a deeper connection, a bond Carmen clearly has with Gray and Ivy, that know her better and for a longer time. Compared to that, Julia barely knows a thing Carmen. Between a person you still have to build a bond with and one you already have that kind of bond with, it's a no-brainer who the best choice is. Really, I can't think of something Carmen and Julia have in common that has nothing to do with history. For a relationship to work you don't need to have everything in common, but you do need more than that. Just history isn't enough. And I can say that because my favorite subject in school is history(alongside with geography, english, philosophy and sociology)(I am a languages/humanities kind of person, fuck math and sciences). History may be enough for a friendship but not a romantic relationship. Besides, history and geography are things Carmen and Player bond more about and in a better way so having Carulia bond over the same thing just seems like it's nothing special and passes the idea that Carmen can bond with anyone as long as they like history and geography, that are intrinsically linked subjects, making Carulia feel, for me, even more basic than it already is. Not all ships need a complex storyline but it does add to it. Because Carmen and Ivy have that "strangers to teammates to friends to lovers" that has a lot of potential to it like one of them being in denial about having a crush on the other, fear that the other doesn't feel the same, fear of ruining their friendship, flirting accidentally, doing capers together with Zack making fun of them, having to put their feelings aside for the sake of the mission, Carmen can't truly open up about her feelings showing vulnerability, jealousy, etc.

And Red Crackle has that "acquaintances to class/roommates to friends to best friends to consideration siblings to enemies to strangers to friends to lovers to enemies to partners in crime to casually making out/hooking up without commitment during six months to enemies to strangers" vibe. The six months thing it's a headcanon but the way it's shown Carmen and Gray work so well together and how it is implied they made a lot of missions as a duo, without the others from their class, just makes me dream, and no one can stop me. Red Crackle are "opposite sides of the same coin". And they'll end up as lovers again because I see Red Crackle as a "right person, wrong timing" situation. They are meant to be and they will be one day, even if it takes a lot of time. They just have too much chemestry, angsty potential and drama material to count and that's exactly what I like. The possibilities are infinite and that just makes their storyline so interesting and I love that for them. So for me, it just felt like Carulia was kinda just there. Only existing.

I definitely think he finds the fluorescents to be sensory hell, given the hours he overworks himself with, I think he'd totally suffer from migraines too. The endless coffee and lack of food don't help. Poor baby definitely prefers some soft lamplight, even if it is bad for his poor old eyes, he'll wear his glasses before he turns on the big light.

I think so, I think if aaron hotchner's gonna buy something, he's gonna do it right. He makes sure to have a top quality mattress, suit, and ingredients to cook with at home. Or their semi-fancy premade snacks (thanks for the translation too <3)

I think he'd love forget-me-nots too! not to mention the name ringing true for one of his fears in life, they're so beautiful.

If he tells you he's gonna do abc for you. He's going to do it. so when you tell him a few weeks into dating that you like good morning texts, it becomes his lifeline. Ok one question that got me super curious I’m a huge fan of chenford and can’t wait to see what happens in season six with them but out of curiosity I have other tv show couples I love like Damon and Elena and Caroline and Klaus and a couple others what are your favorite tv show couples other then chenford

Oh, interesting question!

Well, let's start with the first ever ship that I fell in love with: Barney and Robin from How I Met Your Mother. HIMYM is the first English-speaking TV show that I ever watched, and I always loved those two together. And yes, I will forever be mad at how it all ended. Also, do they have an "official" ship name? I think I remember Swarkles? But idk...

Then there's the ship that I thought was my all-time favorite ship that no other ship could ever surpass: Castle and Beckett, also known as Caskett. I still love them to pieces, but Chenford has taken over the reign.

Then we have Kensi and Deeks, aka Densi, from NCIS: LA. I love them dearly, and am so glad they got what they've wanted for a while in the series finale last month. Yes, I cried.

I also have a soft spot for Tiva - Tony and Ziva from NCIS. I know it's been a while, and chances to see them back together on screen are slim, but I'm still hoping. Girl can dream, right?

I recently finished watching Brooklyn 99, and I immediately fell in love with Amy and Jake, also known as Peraltiago. They're so precious, and I love their dynamic so much.

Another ship I love is Jane and Lisbon from The Mentalist. I know they have a ship name, but I'm not sure how much I like it, so I won't mention it..

Okay, I think those are the ones that I like best. If I had to rank them, I don't think I'd get further than putting Chenford in first place. Nope, hold on.

Because OMG, how could I forget Chandler and Monica?! I literally have Friends on in the background right now, and almost forgot them.

Ok, so maybe I can add number two on the list, after all. But after Chenford and Mondler, I really don't know. I just love them all a lot. I think I'd have to put like three of them in the same no 3 spot, and then the other three together in 4. Once more, my indecisiveness shines through. Yay..

And once again, my answer is a little long. I just can't seem to keep these short. Oh well.

She has an unrequited love for Reiner, the poor thing never had a chance, the bastard didn't even realize it until she died for him. At a certain point of my fic, Evelyn starts to question her feelings for Pieck as she noticed how different she felt around her despite her feelings for Reiner. Evelyn is fascinated by her intelligence and finds her personality very curious, for her, Pieck is a mind ahead of its time, she really admires her.

Yes, Evelyn is just an indecise person. Yay.

How long have you actively been developing your OC?

I created Evelyn only three years ago and have been developing her since then, only very recently I had the pleasure to finally buy her a reference sheet from the amazing horizonzbusy!

Is there any significance behind your OCs name?

To be very honest, not much, I just really loved that name and how it sounded, I then did a fast research on it, finding out it is European with french and german roots, seemed like a good fit for an AOT character and decided to use it.

If your OCs appearance is based on yours, do they have any different features?

She is not based on my appearance, at all.

Is there anything you want to try doing with your OC that you haven't yet? (ex RPing, art, fics, etc)

Lots of things, to be honest! From memes to animation (this will probably never happen because I don't have that cash buuuut).

Omg same though, i was all about zutara growing up! Recently, my bf saw atla for the first time, and I was watching it with him (its been years, it was so fun!)

I guess back then I was kinda using katara as a self insert?? Haha I just had the biggest crush on zuko 😭

But watching it again recently idk I found this new appreciation for kataang, and aang especially! I just think aangs so charming and cute? 🥴

Yay love seeing people relate to the post I posted about becoming a Kataang shipper during my re-watch of ATLA 😘 (you can read it here if you haven’t already).

Firstly, yesss, watching ATLA is still fun after years. Ngl I think when I was younger (mostly because Netflix wasn’t really big), I watched Avatar but not thoroughly. It was more like, if the episode is on the TV, I’m going to watch it. I might have missed an episode or I’d have to wait till next week to see the next episode. This is compared to when I got older and I could do a full binge watch of the whole thing on Netflix (which I recommend 😉).

Secondly, haha I soooo relate to crushing on Zuko. Honestly, still do lol (literally have you seen what he looks like in the comics!?! I didn’t know his hair could get better than season 3 but 😍). And yeah, definitely understand using Katara as a self-insert for the Zuko love 😂. Love an enemies to lovers!!!

Aww yes, I don’t think I paid much attention to Aang when I was younger (other than him being the main character lol) because of how much I loved Zuko. But truly, every single character is so amazing that they all deserve the same amount of love and attention 🥹.

THAT DANCE!! I don’t know what’s in the air at the Fire Nation but Aang was too smooth. After watching that episode, my standards went up by 5000%. I feel like that might have been the episode on my rewatch that made me think a bit differently about Kataang. I think prior to that I was still fully on the Zxtara (going to x the ship name out again in case shippers don’t want to see this xx) train but then that episode happened and I thought this is fricking cuteeee (then of course proceeded to rewatch again).

I’m so happy they’re giving us more adult Gaang content!! So so excited for that movie 😍 and all the Kataang content to come.

Yeah, and on your final point, I do remember lots of Aang hate from some shippers (I do think there might still be some even now). Definitely not saying all Zxtara shippers hate Aang (and definitely don’t think that was what anon was implying)!!! I do think it was a small minority who were probably just trying to find an excuse to hate Aang but I have seen many Zxtara shippers who absolutely adore Aang which always makes me happy because he is a sweet sunshine who deserves all the love and appreciation ☺️.

‘A Heart With Wings’

Chapter 2

July 10th

Oceans POV

  This was the last night Oceans was going to be on deck, by the morning, she’d  be in San Diego. She felt excited to finally be on land, everyone on board was going to have a 3 month vacation. I mean, she had been on that damned ship for almost 2 years already, anything that was more than a week away from the ship was good enough for her. Though Oceans was still sad that she would have no one to go home too, she had dealt with everything that involved her family as far as the house and their belongings. They had offered her to go home early and deal with it all with the lawyers and stuff, but she just stayed on board and worked on it there. All Oceans could stay with was the house, that she rented, and her fathers things, that were in her name on the will, which were his military stuff, from badges to certificates. She had them stored away. And his old truck, that she kept in a garage that was safe. Oceans was walking around the deck as she breathed in the fresh night air and looked into the distance up above. She remembered the stars were her favorite thing to see, it reminded her about the few calls she got from her dad when she was a little girl, he’d always tell her,

   ‘“You see that star constellation that looks like a man and the moon?”

  “Yes daddy I do!! Can you see it?”

 “I can.. I can see it too, meaning that I’m there with you, as long as we can see the same moon and stars together, that means I’ll always be with you. You’ll never be alone, ok sweetie?”

  “Ok daddy! When are you coming home? I want to see you.”

 “Oh sweetie I want to see you too, just wait for a few more weeks, then I’ll take you to go get ice cream like we used to.”

  “Yay!! The chocolate one?”

  “Yup, with sprinkles.”

That was a core memory Oceans had of her father. That was the last time she ever spoke to him. For 2 weeks later they had gotten the news that he had passed. Oceans father was her wingman, always there for her and making every thing about Oceans beautiful and worth it. Sometimes when the days were hardest, she’d take the night to talk to her dad as she looked up at the stars, believing that he was there with her, because from Heaven, he could see the moon and stars too.

  “I miss you pops... but hey, I’m going to see you.. I’m coming home tomorrow. I’ll bring us some ice cream too with your favorite flowers. Goodnight pops.”

 Oceans kissed her fingers and saluted them to the sky with a smile. She then walked back into her bunkers, where she’d meet another fist fight once again, but this time worse. The minute she walked into her bunker, she was hit hard in the head from behind, and it all went black for her.

  July 11

 Oceans woke up the next day and immediately felt the rush of pain that hit her body, she was laying face flat on her bed, and she rolled over thinking she had enough space to get up, but instead was met with the hard ground from falling from the top bunk.

  “Agh! owww.... what the heck?”

 As she slowly stood up she could see from her knuckles where she could’ve possibly put up a fight he night prior. But she didn’t remember a thing. Her legs were awfully soar and were trembling a little as she stood up straight, leaning onto her bed for support. Oceans tried to think about what happened last night, but all she remembered was talking to her dad, then coming to bed. Oceans grabbed her things to shower and walked towards the shower room, she didn’t even look in the mirror as she got undressed, but when she finally took a look at why her shoulder hurt so bad when she took off her shirt, she gasp when she took in the damage,

  “What the heck!! Wh-.. wh-... why? I didn’t do anything”

  ‘Jeffries girls certainly did this.. I’m not even going to bring it up.. if anyone asks, I fell off my bed.’

 Taking her time to shower so she wouldn’t hurt herself more, Oceans took a few minutes to get done, but soon she was dressed in her dress blues wearing her slick bun, everything on her looked like perfection. 

  The LTs POV

 The Admiral led all the sailors off the ship and had them standing in line to wait to be dismissed, or for their families to take them home. 3 hours had passed, and Oceans was the only one standing there, on the big deck with the glorious ship behind her, shielding the setting sun from hitting her. The LT was in charge of making sure no one was left behind or hanging around, and he saw how no one came to pick up Oceans. 

  ‘That kid.. I wonder what’s going through her head right now..’

 The LT walked up to her and sighed sadly as he saw the dry tears on Oceans cheeks, and how red her eyes were, he placed his hand on her shoulder and ordered softly,

  “You may go home now Officer Oceans.”

 Oceans sent him a tight lipped smile,

  “Thank you sir.”

 “Do you have anyone to take you home?”

 “No, but I’m going to go get something to eat first. Go with your family LT, they miss you-“

  “What about you kid-“

  “Don’t worry about me, I can handle myself.”

  The LT looked at Oceans with a serious gaze as he pointed at her face,

  “You sure, what happened to you face then?”

  Oceans playfully said,

  “Oh, I fell off my top bunk, I’m a heavy sleeper, but I’m ok! Just go home LT.”

  ‘Bullshit.. I’m sure Jeffries girls jumped you again.’

 The LT didn’t buy shit, but he knew that if she didn’t say the truth at first, it was because she didn’t want to talk about it at all. So he let her go,

  “Alright then kid, get somewhere safe, keep yourself phone on you at all times.”

  “I will, sir. Goodnight.”

  “Goodnight.”

 Oceans POV

 Oceans was in her dress blues as she walked around San Diego, she was looking for a place to eat and change into something more comfortable. And as she walked on the beach, she saw a nice place that looked homey, it was called, ‘Hard Deck’.

  ‘I guess I could try this place.’

 Oceans was happy she made the right choice, everything seemed calm and great. Oceans took her bag and got dressed into her simple clothes, some loose bell bottoms with a Navy sweatshirt, she had loosen her bum and let her hair flow loosely. When she walked out Oceans looked around and saw that the walls were decorated with Navy photos and badges,

  ‘Owner must be part of the Navy, or something.. I think that’s the owner, she looks nice..’

  Oceans took off her bag and laid it on her lap after she took her seat. She looked around and looked at all the other Navy sailors that had stopped there, but she didn’t recognize them,

  ‘They must be from the other ship that came in today, I think it was Abraham Lincoln? Yeah I think that was it-‘

  “Can I get you anything, ma’am?”

 Oceans turned back to the bar and saw the bartender in front of her, she had the warmest eyes and such a welcoming voice, her smile made it all better, making Oceans feel somewhat better about her choice of bar. Oceans sat up and answered, 

  “I’d like to open a tab please.. and Um.. do you have something kinda strong?”

  Pennys POV 

 Penny took in Oceans appearance and her heart was just about jabbed, this Navy sailor wore a beat up face, she knew she was Navy because she saw her walk in in dress blues at first,

‘Honey you just got home why do you want to get drunk!’

   As much as Penny wanted to word out her thoughts she couldn’t, it was her job to please her customers, but she felt something different for this particular sailor. But she either way answered,

  “Yes, we do actually, would you like that?”

 Penny saw Oceans shake her head replying,

  “Please. And.. can you keep them coming please? Until I close it?”

Penny sighed sympathetically as she asked first, 

  “It’s not my call dear, but do you have someone to take you home after you call it off?”

  Oceans sent her a tight lipped smile as she lied through her teeth, but only because she didn’t want to worry this sweet and beautiful bartender and owner of Hard Deck and because she was desperate to drink her problems away,

  “Of course I do, thank you for your concern ma’am.”

  “Of course honey.”

  ‘This baby doesn’t have a soul to come and get her.. I’ll keep an eye on her.’

 Penny knew this pretty, red teary eyed, freckled lady was lying, she had seen that face through different people after working in a bar for so long. Penny was determined to not let Oceans lie give her the right to let her new customer to drink away irresponsibly. So, Penny knew just exactly what to do. Of course, she’d give her sober customer the first two drinks that were requested, but after that.. the rest would be sparkling apple juice. 

  The Aviators POV

 Maverick had a successful return along with the crew of Top Gun: Rooster, Phoenix, Bob, Payback, Coyote, Fanboy, and of course, Hangman. They- (meaning Phoenix and Coyote) made a bet that whoever would arrive from the deck to the Hard Deck last, would buy all the drinks and rounds for the night. And of course, Coyote as always made a bet with the Queen of bets (Phoenix), the Queen of who won all the bets. So yes, he lost as he arrived last with Hangman. Hangman and Coyote rode together in his truck, meaning they both lost, and they both had to split the check on the rounds and drinks tonight. So when they finally arrived, Hangman wasn’t in the happiest mood, he hated pulling out his wallet on a bet he didn’t even make but still lost to. But Coyote made it up to him by saying that he’d put most of it, and Coyote always kept his word. 

  Mavericks POV

  Maverick had Rooster and Payback push two long tables together so they could all be at the same place. Maverick never admitted it, but he loved seeing them all together, it made it look and feel homey to him. He loved seeing their smiles and ridiculous laughs when one or the other said jokes that were just funny and others inappropriate, of course. It wasn’t too long before he left his loud, cheering family to go see his dear love at the bar who was currently standing by a customer who looked like they were slumped on the bar?

  ‘I wonder who she is? Why does Penny look at little upset? Hmm..’

 Pennys POV

 Penny’s eyes left her customer for a few seconds as her warm and loving gaze found her dearest’s bright blue eyes.  

  He came walking to her with a smile but his eyes were filled with curiosity as he subtly pointed at Penny’s customer once he finally got to the bar. Penny shook her head in a way of saying that she had it under control. She then sent him a head nod and said calmly but with a hint of a flirty tone,

  “Welcome back Handsome, I see you all made it back to deck finally.”

  He sat down a seat away from Penny’s customer as he replied,

  “Oh yeah, all the guys are happy, they are taking a 3 months off then we’ll be back out there for a short amount of time.”

  “Oh that’s great! I’ll be looking forward to seeing your bigs kids all here often.”

  “Most definitely. Say can we get a couple of rounds for our table, aaaand, if you can-“

  Maverick sent Penny a sly wink that made her tummy fill with butterflies, as he continued to say,

  “would you like to join us? We’re celebrating tonight, Admiral Cyclone just passed another mission for us to dive into. And well, they’re all excited to try it out once we’re back in the game.”

  Penny looked at her customer then back at Maverick as she said,

  “Give me 10 minutes? And I’ll be right there.”

 Maverick caught immediately how his Penny was worried for this particular customer, and he loved how she took care of anyone, so she knew he understood when he said,

  “Of course dear, I’ll wait for you.”

  “Ok!”

  Oceans POV

 Oceans has already downed two of Hard Deck’s strongest drinks, and was laying her head on her palm with her elbow probed on the bar as her eyes were closed. The drinks had made her a little dizzy, she wasn’t used to drinking such strong drinks, but she felt like she needed more, her head was still filled with the embarrassment and humiliation she went through today. Like being left last on deck because she had no one to claim her as their own and take her home,

   ‘If I can still remember it all then I’m not drunk enough..’

  And that’s when she lifted her head and asked with a slight slur, but still filled with politeness,

  “umm Ma’am?”

 To push her request Oceans lifted her hand as to call for Penny, which Penny saw straight away as she came to her,

  “Yes dear?”

 “Um I- I wou’ like a coup’ more?”

 “Of course! Coming right up!”

 Penny ran to the back with two glasses and immediately filled them with sparklingly apple juice, then rushed to the front where Oceans still sat and said,

  “Here you go honey!”

  Oceans eyes went wide with some delight as she thanked Penny,

  “Oh than’ you! You’re the bes’ !”

 Penny patted Oceans arm as she said happily,

 “Of course I am. Now honey, what brings you here? You’ve been here all afternoon. Waiting for a date?”

  Oceans waved her hand dismissing Penny’s assumptions, 

 “Oh no, not a date, I hate my job.”

 Because Oceans was a little wizzy she kinda spoke her mind out. Which Penny was looking for, she needed answers to her concerns. But Penny looked at Maverick as they both mirrored a look of confusion. Penny then sat on her side of the bar giving Oceans her full attention when she asked,

 “Oh? And why do you hate your job?”

 Oceans finally looked up from her glass and her healing black eye and busted lip were in sight once again, making Penny give a small frown of sympathy, Oceans then corrected,

  “It’s not the job I necessarily hate, it’s the people I work with, they’re assholes. I work for the Navy, I’m a Aviation Mechanist.. I test the Jets I fix or help build. But.. now I’m beginning to hate what I do, because of them.”

  “Well, What did they do, dear?”

 Oceans pointed at her face as she said with a hiccup first,

  “I got jumped 3 weeks ago, after I swung at a fellow sailor, for saying some insulting things to me. And then.. well, today I uh.. got jumped again as a reminder to never touch their friend again, and it turns out, that I’m going to be with them again when we sail out in 3 months. And I’m a little scared, those girls are huge, and awful. There’s no proof it was them that did it, I was blindfolded in the process I guess, and I was pretty knocked out for most of it, but I know it was them.”

  Penny felt terribly sorry for Oceans, and she could see that Maverick felt the same way too. She saw the way his blue eyes looked at Oceans sympathetically, and filled with some sort of anger too. 

  ‘Poor girl.. does she not have family? Anyone to help her out so she’s not on her own?’

  Penny reached over and rubbed clasped her hands softly as she asked tenderly,

  “And do you have family to go home to, you know, to rest this out and maybe you can get help to be transferred?”

  Oceans pouted her lip a little as she shook her head no,

  “No ma’am, I got no one.. hence leaving me alone.”

  Mavericks POV

  Maverick was hearing all of this and couldn’t help but remember when Rooster lost his father Goose when he was a little boy, 

  ‘Must be hard on her to not have anyone..’

  He watched Oceans as she told Penny everything and he could tell that she was completely wrecked, a few steps away from losing it all. Just as Penny was about to give her condolences and sympathy, 4 women walked into Hard Deck talking loudly and laughing over hysterically, making Him, Penny and Oceans turn their attention to the entrance where they came from. Maverick turned back to Oceans and saw what little dizziness she felt flee from her body immediately as Oceans just simply let out a sigh of worry with a frown when she saw who it was, LT Jeffries and her 3 girl friends, the ones who jumped her a few hours earlier. Maverick saw Oceans expression and knew what she was thinking,

  ‘I’m guessing those are the assholes that jumped her.’

Penny’s POV

  Oceans then slipped off her chair, and went on to saying before Penny could give a word,

  “I’d like to close my tab, thanks for the chat, Ma’am. Keep the change.”

  Penny couldn’t let her go just like that, she was afraid she might never see her again, so Penny took out a card and scribbled her number before grabbing the $30 Oceans had given her and handed her the card as she said quickly,

  “You’re free to come around at anytime. Please, if you have time, come and see me. I’d like you to keep me company for the worth while, it sometimes gets lonely.”

  Oceans POV

 Oceans looked at the card and smiled softly,

 ‘That’s so sweet of her... Penny.. pretty name too.’

  Oceans put the card in her pocket and said as she shook Penny’s hand gently but with purpose,

  “Thank you Penny, I’m Constantine by the way.. but people on land call me Connie. And then people on water call me Oceans. I’ll come by tomorrow.”

  Oceans let go of her hand and saw Penny’s face lit up as she smiled,

  “Perfect, I’ll be seeing you then, have a great night.”

  “Have a great night, Penny.”

 Oceans turned from Penny and looked at the customer who was a seat away from her, Maverick,  he glanced at her and gave her a nod with a smile, which Oceans mirrored, with simple words,

  “Have a great night sir.”

 Hangman’s POV

 Hangman let out a shout of victory as he had just beat Coyote on pool, he clapped his back telling him,

  “I’m getting a drink on your tab for that one, give me a second.”

 Coyote rolled his eyes as he shewed him away, Hangman simply laughed as he was walking backwards towards the bar shooting finger guns at his buddy, but was put to a pit stop when he bumped into someone from behind, making him turn around to either scold the guy that ran into him, or apologize to the girl he ran into. Hangman was both an ass and a sass. His eyes went wide when he saw the girl he bumped into, she was almost as tall as him, her hair was a golden-orangish color, kinda tossed everywhere because of the summery winds in San Diego, plus she had been ruffling it all afternoon. Her freckled face was pink on the cheeks but had a busted lip and a busted nose with a bruised eye, his mind ran a million miles an hour as he processed what he was seeing,

  ‘Who hit her? Why is she still beautiful looking like that? Oh god my manners! I ran into her-‘

 The first time Oceans spoke to Hangman, was when she said in a soft but worried tone,

  “I was looking down, I-I didn’t mean to bump into you sir-“

 ‘Oh her voice is lovely too-‘

 Hangman’s mind raced with thoughts as he continued to find new things he liked about this new stranger, but he had to focus on the fact that she apologized to him after he had ran into her, because he wasn’t watching where he was going, so in his southern drawl he countered,

  “No ma’am, I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going as I was walking backwards. Are you ok?”

 He didn’t let that question escape his concern for her as he went on to take her broken state, though Oceans felt grateful for his concern, she knew she’d never voice or let him know in any way, he was a stranger and she was too embarrassed anyways, so Oceans simply shrugged it off,

  “Oh, Of course I am. Thank you. Um.. Be careful next time.”

  She sent him a small smile than ran out of the building, calling out to a taxi that was near by and leaving in mere seconds, leaving a very confused Hangman, 

  ‘Who the heck was she? Damn if I see her like that again I’m not letting her go until she told me who did that to her, poor sunflower-“

  “Hey handsome! Are you in line?!”

 A loud but cheerful voice from a girl distracted Hangman’s thoughts, he faced the girl he saw in front of him, she was short, had bouncy blonde hair, wide blue eyes and a gorgeous smile. 

  ‘My my my! Where did you come from?’

  Oceans was immediately gone from Hangman’s mind as he took in the appearance of this Barbie doll that was in front of him. He ruffled his hair as he put his hand in front of him,

  “I was darling.. but why don’t you ladies come first instead.”

 The blonde awe as she tapped Hangman’s broad chest with her finger as she called out to her friends,

  “Awww look at this charm, such a gentleman, come on ladies, he’s letting us go first!”

 They all began to squeal as they stood in front of Hangman and began to fill his ears with compliments and the gossip about their day. The 3 ladies ordered first as Hangman kept conversation with the Barbie girl, he then asked for her name,

  “I’m sure your gorgeous face has a gorgeous name?”

 The blonde smiled as she stretched out her hand saying with her hair twirling in her fingers,

  “I’m Cathrine, Cathrine Jeffries.”

 ‘Her name has a cute swing to it too..’

Little did Hangman know, that no matter how cute this girl was, she would be the downfall of his life.. but of course, you never learn until you made the mistake first.

Can I just say I love Tulia ✨✨ She is so badass and sweet and finally Jean gets someone! How would you describe her personality tho? Like it changed slightly in each book?

Also what is your fav Aot and jjjk book you wrote? They are all so unique and different, like I’ve never seen stories like those before since most stories follow similar themes and plot

Awww yay I’m glad you like her!!! I do change which aspects of her personality I focus on depending on the storyline of the book but overall (with the exception of pomegranate ink because everyone’s just goofy in that and the first half of endure because she was still a kid) she’s a pretty mature and self-assured person who’s very kind and wise. She does have a shorter temper though and her judgement can be clouded when she gets angry, and she can be reserved with people she doesn’t know. She is a pretty good judge of character though! And yes her and jean are so cute together I love them.

Hmmm I think for aot it would be a tie between ship in the harbor and endure. Endure is like a comfort because it’s (so far) the longest story I’ve ever written and the one most people have read and I feel like I learned a lot from it. However ship in the harbor is definitely my most creative and has the most complex characters (especially Y/N in that story she’s probably one of the most interesting characters I’ve written) and it really makes me go out of my comfort zone. It’s also going to end up as my longest story once I finish it so that’s cool. Honorable mention goes to the 13T series even though I don’t like the writing style anymore just because I like the mythology I came up with for it.

For jjk I feel like all of my fics are very different and I like them in different ways. Pomegranate Ink is very lighthearted and fun (although there is angst planned for later on dw!) so it’s good to just feel good. I think icoamd has the best worldbuilding for sure and it has the most to be explored — for example, my favorite relationship in that story is between Y/N and a character that hasn’t even been named in the story yet. And then I love h / h because it’s the kind of fic which is almost even better when you know what’s happening due to how many plot twists are in it.

Thank you!! When I’m coming up with plots for my fics I have two methods: if it’s a canon au, I look for ‘holes’ in the story that the author did not necessarily explore to the fullest. I think the best example of that would be promise Y/N being an MP which there are no main characters in aot who are MPs (i guess besides annie and hitch but annie is only there as an MP for a season and hitch isn’t really a main character). If I’m coming up with my own world building, I try to think about what I want to happen in the story and then come up with plausible reasons for it — like in icoamd, I wanted Megumi to be Y/N’s guard but for it to be a very forbidden relationship, which meant she had to be engaged but with no chance of falling in love with her husband, so I made her future husband wayyy older than her. Then the question became why is she marrying someone so much older than her?? Because she’s a royal, marrying for an alliance to stop a war made sense, but then there had to be a reason for the war (which there is, Y/N just doesn’t know it yet). From there it comes down to research and referencing history to try and be somewhat accurate.

Yay, I have finished it, even if I thought the writing like two times and I forgot what I was actually going to write both times. It has a bit of fearplay and the end is fluff. Also this is a bit short ;-;

The timeline is before Blackbeard kills Thatch, so they're still cool.

I also used another of my oc's for this fic; which is female and 14 years old (Reference at the end of the fic btw :])

With a heavy sigh he left the Striker on one of the shores, hidden from view, he didn't want to get in trouble with the Marines in the early hours of the morning. Little did he know that his boat would have a visitor shortly after he left.

The borrower watched intently as the human walked away, climbing onto his boat when he disappeared completely from sight. It took a bit of time due to her size, but after a few minutes, she finally managed to get inside and try to hide as best she could. All she wanted right now was to get away from this disgusting island and stay hidden from the humans.

She brushed her hair off her shoulders, sitting on one of the inner corners of the small boat, while both of her hands gripped the straps of her backpack/bag.

It wasn't long before Ace was back on the boat, standing still before climbing onto it. Although he couldn’t see inside completely, he knew someone/something was there and he didn't like that at all, as it could be a threat. 

He crouched low and leaned over the floor of the Striker as his left hand caught fire. Immediately there was a scream from there and he leaned in fully to see, his eyes widening at the sight of a person who seemed to be no bigger than his hand.

He quickly put out the fire in his hand, slowly reaching towards the person to pick her up. The tiny only pressed further into the corner. When Ace was about to reach her… “No! no no no no! Stay away! Do not touch me!" The tiny girl yelled, tears beginning to fall from her eyes, hugging herself as she tried to get further away from Ace, even though she knew she couldn't.

Ace sighed as he passed his hand, which he had just moved away from the little person, over his face. "Look, uh... I'm not going to hurt you, okay? I just thought you were an enemy or something that had snuck into my boat, I didn't think you were a tiny girl..." If he was honest, he really felt bad about scaring a girl who wasn't even bigger than his hand.

The girl looked at him for a moment, before wiping away her tears. "You promise?" Ace smiled widely seeing that she intended to trust him. "Sure, although, can I ask you what were you doing inside my boat?" She looked away for a moment before replying. “I got on here because I want to leave this island, I don't want to be here anymore…” Ace nodded in understanding.

"It seems understandable to me, although I don't think you would like being down there, that area is going to be completely filled with fire." The tiny girl's green eyes widened in shock. "Of fire? So where should I go?" She asked as she let herself be picked up by the human.

"I could hold you all the way back to the ship." he answered with a smile. "To the ship? Are you a pirate? If so, I don't think-” Ace simply cut her off. "Yes, I am a pirate, I belong to the Shirohige pirates crew and don't worry, they will surely love to meet you, especially the pineapple head." He said with a small laugh.

"Are you sure?" "Absolutely, don't worry." He replied holding the tiny girl closer. She just settled into his soft grip, closing her eyes. "Thanks, by the way, my name is Samantha even though they call me Sam." "Ace." he said as he finally headed towards Shirohige's ship.

"Man, nobody loans me anything." You can feel the self-deprecation and resentment dripping from that sentence

Let's take a moment to appreciate Hookfang, who's been following Snotlout around the whole episode

And another moment for Fishlegs who openly, genuinely, gave him a chance

Hiccup's great, man, really. He's giving Snotlout every single chance he's asking, calming down the others, letting him win so he could get a confidence boost! These are amazing friends

And now he's panicking, oh my god

Have I mentioned how much I love Hookfang and Snotlout's relationship yet? No? Well, I do, and Hookfang is an amazing boy

It's interesting to me that people are saying more and more often that you can't rely on corporations such as Disney to provide you with adequate queer media, but it is being made by other queer people. I said such a thing and suggested supporting indie queer folks, because eventually, yes, it'll show there's a demographic for it. And got told off for it on this stupid hellsite years ago for saying anything like that! YAY :)

I've been reading a lot of queer books lately, and while some of them don't fit my criteria, it's still nice to have the selection. I'm interested in representation, but only if it's alongside a story I like. But for those who enjoy young adult romance, we finally are seeing more options! Meanwhile, I watched one of my former fandoms tease gay ships only to suddenly start pushing het ships ten times harder - as the series gets more popular! SE and D!sney can barely bother, and both of those companies are pretty... uhhhh lmao SE's response to the lack of people of color in 16 is not good actually! One of my blorbos has a crush on a player who can be male or female and is owned by D!sney and produced by SE AND the SE queer mascot is derived from the flower she's named after, and I still expect player will default to male. (So far, most media has done that, and only one official book has gone with female) And I really don't want to fucking hear that somehow those companies will change our lives so let's just keep feeding them money. Not saying you can't enjoy the media from any of those companies bc I'd be a hypocrite to say so. But also, I'm not practically slapping aside queer creators like they're nobodies, or slapping them aside but fussing about how it impacts me personally I'm slowly burying myself in piles of queer books and love it, and yes, this does impact me both as a creator but also as a reader/gamer/etc? ("consumer" makes me sound like I'm not appreciating the hard work, but I guess saying I'm the audience would work?) I want the queer media that feels like it speaks to me deeply I want the queer media that speaks deeply to someone else, even if it isn't me I want all of it ALL OF IT Creativity is a precious thing. We won't always understand someone else's. I just want it all to exist as normal. I will take queer media from queer creators. I will take it from people who are not out yet. I will take it from allies. I will take it from anyone. I will take it from huge media companies. I just want it to exist so we all have a selection. (but please, stop thinking that the selection is only going to come from multibillion dollar companies??? that doesn't make it somehow better)
