i just. sometimes i think back about devil may cry again. and. damn. like dante and vergil barely got to be actual children, vergil's obsession with power comes from his insecurity about being supposedly unable to save his mum and dante and. they were so young, they should've been able to play around as kids and enjoy their childhood. the fact that both of them just. lost their parents so quickly and had to find their ways in this godforsaken world alone.

it's so interesting to me how dante uses his taunts to like. lower his anxiety. he runs through fights making jokes because he's always scared. and i'd go as far as saying that on the other hand, vergil is just scared for his brother. the whole "im better than you" thing? it's always read (to me) as "i gotta make you strong enough but also i gotta unlock all my power so i can protect everything i love" but just gone too far. like he's taken it really to an extreme, obviously, but i do think it started out as genuine fear that he wasn't enough. these men for real just need therapy. all of them need therapy someone get the dmc gang THERAPY.

OH. AND ANOTHER THING. THAT FINAL FUCKING FIGHT IN DMC3 BETWEEN VERGIL AND DANTE. i like to think it's always been dante trying to bring vergil back from "POWER". like the "we are the sons of sparda" part is very much a "fucking wake up and look around you can do so much better" and vergil is so far gone that genuinely his response is "our souls are at opposites, brother. i need more power." which is such a personality defining statement from him. But the part that hurts most? When Vergil cuts Dante's hand on his way down to hell. He reaches out for his brother.

AND OOH. BEFORE I FORGET. lady saying to nero (not an exact quote bc i cannoooooot remember it) "you'll never be able to recover from killing your dad don't do it" isn't just a "no dont do it nero". DMC3. SHE'S SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE. she knows what it's like to be in neros place on dmc5, and. i just feel like sometimes we look over lady and her past. she went through so much too, like imagine being like 16/17 (?) and having your dad be like "yeah holup lemme go open the gate to hell come here daughter lemme k word you so i can open the gate to hell" and have to actually go out and stop him. and like i guess even with dante and vergil there's an element of "oh they're half demon they. kinda. expect this shit in their lives" LADY ISN'T. she's 100% human and has been through so much.

and like when that's put in perspective, it really makes me enjoy the games more. like, growing up playing the games it was all "wahoo haha pizza haha motivated haha gun-trick-sword-trick-gun-trick" and now it's all "man. more of my favourite characters are just. traumatised people who have really gone through the worst shit ever."

anyway. ro lore dumps about devil may cry again. maybe if i get time mid coursework i'll add more lmao we'll see 😔

a/n: PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: this fic is based off my own experience which means i'm kinda sharing something really vulnerable and personal with u all. and WHEWWW, writing this was very emotional, i cried a few times :') sadly, i didn't have a baji or anyone else with me who could've helped me or stopped what was going on. we can all imagine how that fucking ended for me, huh? lmao anyway so, here's me bringing you baji to comfort us all! :) i mainly wrote this for my own comfort but, i really hope that it also brings some sort of comfort to someone else who experienced something similar. i love u all, stay safe! and i hope u enjoy this :) mwah mwah mwah !!

it's past 9pm, already dark outside and you're currently waiting next to a small café where you and baji were supposed to meet 15 minutes ago but he's still not here. you pull out your phone and decide to call him. "kei, where are you?" you ask when he picks up. "i'm sorry baby, the meeting went a little longer but i'm on my way now. i'll be there in 10, okay?" you hum a small "okay" and then hang up. while you were waiting in front of the café you were playing around on your phone, not noticing that a man has been watching you from a distance. the man, still not taking his eyes off of you, walks closer to you and stops when you look up from your phone and notice him. "hey, sweetheart." he smirks. instantly feeling uncomfortable you ignore him and take a few steps back. "hey, where are you going? i just want to ask you something." he slightly chuckles and comes closer to you. "what do you want?" you ask taking a few more steps back until your back hits the wall behind you. "i saw you from the other side of the street and couldn't help but notice how sexy you are. You wanna come over to my place?" he smugly grins. all the color drains from your face now. you look behind the man to look for baji, or anyone else that could help you, but there's still no sight of him. "no, i have a boyfriend." he laughs at that. "that's what they all say but i'm not fuckin' stupid, you know?" he slightly raises his voice and anger takes over his face and your hands start shaking out of fear. "you really can't come up with a better excuse? hah! i don't give a fuck if you have a boyfriend or not. you're coming with me and i'll show you what a real man looks like." his hand tightly grabs your arm and you panic, trying to release your wrist. "stop it! let me go!" he laughs again "fine, you don't want to come with me? i can take you right here." he turns your body around so your front hits the wall. he presses his chest against your back and you struggle to shake him off of you. "HELP! SOMEON-" you want to scream but he covers your mouth with a hand to shut you up. his lips come closer to your ear and he whispers "i'll show you a good time, babe." tears stream down your face and you close your eyes, preparing yourself for what's about to happen to you.

"shh, you don't have to cry, baby. be a good slut for me, yeah?" before the man can do anything else, you feel his hand getting ripped off your mouth and the presence behind you disappears. "what the fuck do you think you're doing?" you hear a familiar voice yell behind you. turning around you see baji grabbing the man by his collar and pushing him against the wall across from you. relief washes over your whole entire body and your legs give out, making you drop down to the floor where you pull your knees up to your chest and you keep crying. crying, because of what just happened but also happy and relieved that baji came to save you. baji's fist connects with the man's cheek over and over again. "i asked you a fucking question, fuckin' asshole. touching my girl like that? calling her a slut? you have a fuckin' death wish, huh?" he continues to yell at the man. baji is furious, you have never seen him this angry before. "i didn't know she's your girl! i'm sorry!" the man cries out. "even if she wasn't my girl, you don't fucking talk to and touch anyone like that without their consent. got it?" "yes, yes i'm sorry!" baji let's go of the man and he groans and he slides down the wall.

baji quickly comes over to you. "baby, hey, look at me." you look up at him and see his beautiful face which instantly brings you comfort. "hey," he smiles "i'm right here." you quickly nod your head to show that you're listening, still too shaken up to talk. he gently puts his hands on your knees and slightly squeezes them to let you feel him. "did he hurt you?" he carefully asks. you hold up your wrist where the man was holding you and pull up your sleeve to show that it's a little red and slightly bruised. baji's body reacts before he can think; he gets up, walks over to the man again who was groaning and laying on the floor. he straddles his hips and starts punching him again. "you hurt her, you fuckin' son of a bitch. i'll hurt you ten times worse, fuckin' promise you that." he yells in between punches.

you're in too much shock to properly react but you know damn well that if you don't stop baji, he will actually kill this guy. you carefully and slowly stand up, not trusting your legs enough to hold you up. when you're up you walk over to baji and the man. "kei, stop it! that's enough!" you yell at him. he doesn't hear you over the sounds of his fists connecting with the man's face and the groaning. baji's body is filled to the brim with rage. he has never felt that much anger in his whole entire life. "kei, please!" you tell louder and he finally hears you and snaps out of it at the sound of your shaky voice. he stops punching the man and gets off of him to stand beside you. "if you think you already paid for what you did, you're wrong." he says to the barely conscious man before he gently grabs you by your hand to pull you away and over to the other side of the street where his bike is parked. he leans your body against the bike, takes your face in his hands and wipes away your tears. "hey, you're safe now, okay?" his soft voice makes you start crying all over again and he pulls you into a tight embrace with his strong arms. "it's over, baby. let it all out. i'm right here." he softly whispers into your hair and leaves a few pecks every now and then as he lets you just cry in his arms. "he wanted to," you choke out, "kei, i think he wanted to ra-" "shhh, shh. i wouldn't have let that happen. you're safe, okay? safe. i'm not going anywhere." he softly mumbles. baji would probably rather kill this guy and keep freaking out but he knows you need him more than anything right now. he'll deal with this guy in a different way, another time. he feels you slowly calming down in his arms so he pulls away a little and wipes your tears away with the sleeve of his sweater. "can we go home? and can i stay at your place? i don't want to be alone tonight." you quietly ask with a shaky voice. "of course, baby. i'll never leave you alone again, okay? hop on the bike, let's go." he kisses your cheek and helps you sit on his bike. he sits down as well and waits until you wrap your arms tightly around him, then he starts driving home.

when you both enter his house his mom calls out for him. "im home, mom! y/n's here too, she's gonna stay the night." his mom comes into the hallway with a big smile on her face to greet you, excited that you're here since she absolutely adores you. but, her smile falls when she sees your puffy face and your red eyes. "hi y/n, honey are you okay?" she asks concerned. you were about to answer when baji speaks up. "baby, you can go to my room already, i'll get you something to drink. i'll be there in a second." you nod, send his mom a small smile and go to his room. "keisuke, what happened?" his mom asks again as she follows him into the kitchen. he turns around to her, she notices how his shoulders fall and his eyes get glassy, now she's even more worried. "y/n was attacked by a man." he whispers out and suddenly it all hits him all over again. how scared he was for you, the rage, how scared and vulnerable you looked. tears form in his eyes and his mom quickly brings him into a tight hug when she notices. a few tears fall from his eyes and he sniffles in his moms arms. "if i showed up later he would've-" his mom interrupted him, knowing already what he wanted to say. "but you did show up and you saved her, right?" he nods. "don't blame yourself, keisuke. i'm proud of you. it's horrible what happened to her but all you can do now is be there and comfort her, okay." he nods again, kisses her cheek and wipes his tears away. his mom pulls away, gets some water and a few snacks for you two and hands them over to him. "i know she probably can't eat much right now, but try it, okay? and tell her she can stay here for as long as she wants. i'm here for her too and i'll call her parents and let them know she's here." she kisses his forehead. "thank you, mom. love you."

when baji enters his room he sees you lying in his bed, wearing his clothes and cuddling his pillow tight against your chest. his heart softens at the sight and he places the snacks down on his table and sits down on the bed next to you. "baby, can you drink this for me?" he holds the glass of water over to you, you nod, sit up and take the glass from him. his warm hand brushes through your hair while you drink the water. "mom said you can stay for as long as you want and talk to her if you need anything. she also called your parents to let them know you're here." your heart softens at that. you're so grateful to have baji and his mom in your life. "thank you." you give him a weak smile and he puts the glass away when you finished drinking. "do you want food? mom gave me some snacks." you feel bad saying no, baji's mom is so nice to you, but you don't feel like eating. "i feel like i'll throw it up anyway. no, thank you. i'm sorry." you quietly say. "don't apologize! it's totally fine, okay?" you nod once again and let out a sigh. "thank you, kei. for saving me, i mean." you choke out, tears falling from your eyes once again when the memories from earlier hit you all over again. baji pulls you into his laps so you're straddling him and tightly wraps his arms around you. "no need to thank me. i will always, always protect you, okay? this will never happen again, i promise." and he means it. this will never happen again for as long as he lives. he presses some kisses into your hair and runs his hand over your back. "listen, i love you, baby. i love you so much. i got you forever, okay." he pulls away from the hug to look into your eyes, they're red and puffy, but still as beautiful as ever. your hand brushes over the apple of his cheek, admiring his beautiful face, the face of your own personal hero. "i love you, keisuke." you whisper. "so much." he places a few pecks on your cheeks. "it will probably take a while for you to learn how to deal with what happened but i want you to know that i'll be there for you every step of the way. you're never alone. and if you want to talk to a therapist about it, you can. i'll help you with everything you need, okay?" you sniffle at his words and feel tears forming in your eyes once again. "are you trying to make me cry again?" you chuckle and a big grin spreads over his lips when he sees you smile at him. "im so lucky to have you." you whisper against his cheek and press a kiss on his warm skin there. you let out a yawn and feel your eyes getting heavy. "lay down, i'll get ready for bed and be right back with you, okay?" he lifts you off his lap, lays you down and presses a kiss to your forehead before he takes his pyjama and walks into his bathroom. he locks the door behind him, pulls out his phone and dials mikey's number. when baji told the guy who assaulted you earlier "if you think you already paid for what you did, you're wrong." he was being serious and he was referring to sending toman after that bastard. "what's up, baji?" mikey's joyful voice hits his ears. "it's serious, i need you and the boys to handle something, or should i say, someone, for me." mikey notices the darkness and anger in baji's voice and instantly understands that it has something to do with you. "i got you. what happened?"

after baji told mikey everything he got ready for bed and came back into his room to you. seeing you asleep already and curled up under his blankets. you look so peaceful right now, so angelic and like you are made out of glass. once again, he promises himself that he will protect you forever. and nothing and no one will hurt you ever again. he gets into bed with you, pulls you against his body and wraps his arms tightly around you. feeling safe in his arms, you unconsciously wrap your arms around his waist and he smiles at that, kissing your forehead a few times and whispering a gentle "i love you, baby." into your ear.

i hope you're rdy bc i have 3 dabi thoughts in total for you but i'll send them individually 🧍

alright let's start off easy xD

the fandom's thoughts on how dabi would react to finding out his s/o is pregnant seem to go in two different directions. either he's terrified and leaves for good or he sees it as a chance to prove that he's better than his dad. personally i usually go with the second one bc i want him to be happy xD

which leads us straight to girl dad dabi 🥺 i'll never get enough of thinking about dabi with a little girl that takes after him in a way that's almost scary. they have the same stunning blue eyes and it helps him learn to love them bc now they don't remind him of his dad anymore but his daughter instead.

she has the same unruly hair as him and it's a real pain to get under control. dabi even learns to braid her hair (it takes a while tho lmao) bc she always wants him to do it :3

your daughter also turns out to be a picky eater. her daddy doesn't like smt? she doesn't like it either. but this works the other way round as well. her daddy loves smt? she loves it as well. this becomes a little worrying tho after a while when the little girl starts to show interest in fighting heroes and worst of all: arson 💀

one time you find her in her room smearing watercolors all over her face and arms - purple to be exact - bc she wants to look just like her dad. and when you tell her that she can't get the staples she so desperately wants it breaks her little heart 😭

do you want me to cry? do you want me to shed tears so bad? like... the way dabi would absolute dote on his daughter, treating her with the outmost love and respect, never missing a chance to spend some quality time with you both like going to the sea or have late afternoon walks, granting every single wish of hers under your tender glance and smile like– he’s so gonna make sure she gets all the love, appreciation and attention your daughter wants and deserves.

at some point you gotta step in because he’s so ready to comply to every single request she does, even the craziest ones, a single syllable of your daughter and dabi is already on the move with the most chill and stoic face ever.

like that one time the three of you went to the zoo and your daughter said a simple “mr. lion looks so majestic, i love it so much!”, the next thing you know dabi was climbing up the fence, with the guards yelling at him that he can’t while you stand there trying to hide yourself behind your hands, not from the embarrassment but because of laughters since you didn’t expect him to do something so extreme “my daughter wants a lion and i’m gonna give her that fucking lion, ya heard me?!”, yeah no, he’d definitely go ballistic at any request from his little mochi.

in the end you guys got away with a plushie of a lion that your daughter loves, but to which dabi clicked his tongue at because he wanted to give her the real thing and not a miniaturised version of it, in all this you’re just laughing amused at funny all this situation was for you.

and i’m not allowing anyone to fight me about this, he would 100% read your daughter fairytales before going to sleep. dabi would lay with her on her small bed letting your daughter use his chest as cushion while he reads with soft soothing voice the fairytale of the night, once she’s asleep he would gently tuck her in and kiss her on the forehead lovingly, because she is one of the most precious existences to him.

and as you looked at them tenderly from the doorway, arms crossed to your chest, you really thought that dabi’s initial fear of not being a good dad was for nothing because he turns out to be an awesome dad for the splendid daughter you two have.

ok first off, thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to write down ur thoughts and share them with me. it’s truly one of the greatest joys of being an author, and the closest i can get to experiencing my writing as if i wasn’t the one who wrote it. NOW let’s get into it…

the overarching watcher hate is so justified and hilarious, they really just exist to be the most obnoxious and toxic livestream chat ever. at least, the ones who hang around jimmy are LMAO

AHA i’m glad u liked the part abt jimmy not liking to cry, i’ve been told he’s got a bit of a prideful streak in other series that didn’t come thru as much in his double life run, so that was a little nod to it.

the ranch could not escape its destiny of being tragically burned down 🫡

(omg the therapy appointment interlude. i remember when i’ve had to pause while reading a fic to address real life business and now someone’s doing that for MY writing…. :’))) i hope the appt went well!)

this chapter was a lovely opportunity to really show jimmy stepping up for tango, with both verbal and physical reassurance. he may not know everything abt the hels situation but he knows he loves tango <3

phantonym and tyrannicide did come along! they might be scientists, but they’re as nasty as any hels player (dr l8r_h8r did, in fact, stay home to monitor the portal. he’s kinda over the whole ‘violence’ nonsense.) tango actually targeted them first bc of their lab coats.

and YUP i got a lotta good username ideas from those suggestions. and it WAS very difficult to keep track of them all thru the chat backlog. i don’t know how long i spent going thru each player’s sequence of events, one by one, JUST to make sure i hadn’t forgotten to have someone die for the last time, or show up again without a new join message.

and unfortunately for jimmy he made the classic error of “typo in the group chat.” joel did what he had to 🫡 (buuuut once he saw how serious the situation was, he decided not to push it anymore)

atlas is a clever bastard and i love that yall love to hate him 🙏 he saw a virtual ocean of wolves storming down the hill and was like “ok clearly i’m not dealing with that, so let’s see where my efforts can be better spent.” the hired grunts don’t possess that kind of critical thought 🎻

okay i'll try to be serious for once lmao.

first, acadimileth has a special spot in my heart. i know some people dont like the teacherxstudent thing, but i think with dimileth works perfectly without too many moral issues: 1) dimitri and byleth are close in age, 2) it's not our modern world, but a fantasy/medieval ages-like, 3) him being a FUCKING PRINCE outclasses her being a teacher, in the "omg she has power over him" argument speaking. also, they dont do anything while dimitri is still a student, the in-game romance happens after 5 years of byleth sleeping, plus 1 year of war where byleth is not a teacher anymore.

so, acadimileth is one of my fav dimileth type. i love when dimitri is shy thinking about his professor and his inner turmoils, and i love that byleth slowly learns how to have friends, how to feel emotions, and how to understand that the funny feeling she feels in her heart everytime she thinks about dimitri is something more than "simple friendship" eueue :D also hot bc forbidden.

also for three houses, i like dimileth with feralmitri after the time-skip. i may be ace, but feralmitri makes me feel Things 👀 ahem anyway. the angst, the hurt/comfort, feralmitri making feral sex with his professor, it's just *chef kiss*

i also enjoy a good CF!dimileth lovers to enemies (to lovers), but i need my happy ending or i'll get sad t.t

as for three hopes, i love enemies to lovers, and reincarnation au!!!!! best if there's both! dimitri fights the ashen demon on the battlefield, but he's so mesmerized by her he almost gets killed, but then the ashen demon stops her sword, they look at each other... EUEUEUE yes i love hopes!dimileth a lot too. i wish the game had more dimileth itself but OH WELL thank sothis there are fanfiction.

i also enjoy a lot modern au. my fav type is work collegues, i dont even know why, i dont work in a office xD maybe bc this thrope can bring that bit of "forbidden" acadimileth has?

in general, i love mutual pining, especially dimitri pining for his professor, while byleth is not fully aware of her feelings and can even get jealous! i love soulmates au bc i'm a sucker for soulmates; in both canon and modern au. i love when dimitri gets feral for his beloved, and i love when byleth learns feelings thanks to dimitri.

so, yeah, i like almost every dimileth dynamic xD my only "turn-off" from a fic is a bad ending, and/or if dimileth is not endgame. i need them to be happy or i'll CRY for real cwc

oh, last note: i do enjoy established relationship and post-game fics, but i dont read them much often. i prefer the drama and THEN the happy ending with them getting together lmao

MY SATOGOU GOODBYE RANT.

so yeah i said i would do one so here i am. honestly dont know how long this will be so let's get stuck in lmao <33

I'm starting after the 'im glad i met you part', bc i kind of already did a post on that anyway lol (and just wanted to add, in the dub they changed it to 'I'm sure glad i met you,' and Ash says it so soft omg i literally died on the spot watching it ;-;

(headsup ignore the fact some of the images are off a youtube channel i couldn't find the scenes💀)

so i hope this is all in order, but this bit is so so SO sweet when Goh tells him 'thanks for reaching out for me' like no surprise i was literally crying at that point like sgdxkjnfsgf it's so sweet to me that without Ash none of his journey would have really happened, but tbf you could say the same for all of his companion tbh. either way, i am very glad goh met satoshi too omg <3 🥺

theennnnnn this part is Ash just offering some sweet words of advice and comfort, talking ab their dreams ect, like, nothing too bittersweet to see here, but i guess you can say the way he said 'WE' and meant both of them is sweet lmao

OK so on the palm of our hands thing i have a few things to say

first of all i love how Ash knew that he knew what to continue with bc they are just so in sync with each other ofc <3 and OFC they had to put that scene in for the last episode, like when it was in the Mewto episode for the first time, i was honestly screaming of how cute it was LIKE THE FACT ASH MADE THE LITTLE ADD ON OF 'OUR HANDS' IN THE FIRST TIME THEY DID IT JUST MAKES IT EVEN MORE CUTER EJHSKF

but anyways as much as i love this scene because of how 'the future is in the palm of our hands', can be interpreted in some otherways, 👀 I also couldnt help but thing about something else.

after/before the Project mew stuff actually started/finished (pretty sure it was after,) we see a scene of Goh, Gary and Horace using the 'palm of our hands' phrase together, and yeah its rlly cute lmao, but i was kind of hoping it was something unique for Ash and Goh, not trying to be a fusspot, but i think the scene now feels slightly less special to me now Goh used it with some other people?

I mean sure, ash and goh were still the first people who did it, and it IS their kind of thing lmao, like they created it. Even tho it was just an initial thought, it is still really sweet that goh used it with others don't get me wrong <3

when i was watching this i was like no way this is it lol like are you not gonna confess

jokes but thankfully they made a bittttt more to it (and good bc if they left it there I would be sitting there like what)

so they start to walk away from each other and you see Goh is still quite sad while Ash is still holding up, my heart was dying </3

STOP IT WHEN GOH STOPPED AND HE WAS ABOUT TO CRY AAAAAAAAAA 🥺🥺🥺

BUT OFC

OFC ASH HAS TO CALL OUT TO HIM AND THE WAY GOH'S EYES HAVE THE LITTLE SPARKLE WHEN HE HEARS HIS VOICE 💖 The fact Ash actually thought while he was walking away 'oh shit need to check up on the bf' lol and climbed up the little hill to wave him off again is the cutest thing; CANNOT CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE this made their whole goodbye for me tbh 💕💕💕

the bit where they nod at each other is so comforting to me like it's weird, but it gave me a little more satisfaction i'll say, lmao. also gives you a hint that they are wrapping up the goodbyes fully so it gave me some very brief preparation time 😢

OK i do love that when he runs off, he's more confident, and when it switches back to Ash, it has him watching over Goh until he can't see him anymore, which is rlly cute <333 ahhh they're so pure man

SOOOOO BASICALLY THIS IS MORE OF THE RANT SECTION:

uhmmm so first things first. Did i like the goodbye for them? Well, yeah, it was quite cute, especially the end part where Ash gives him that last bit of encouragement and called out his name, because SHEESH if they left that part out and gave them that first goodbye without Ash calling out to him, and they just left each other....yeah, i wouldn't be happy.

see, i just kind of thought they deserved a bit better. It was v cute and all, but like they've been through so much together 😭 😭 😭 😭 like I'm saying this as a shipper but still 😂 tbf if they hugged I probably would have cried but let's be honest I could cry at anything at this point

but hey what we got was pretty cute, I just would have tweaked some things because honesty this duo are literally the closest I've ever seen in the anime, and I would have hoped for a little bit more, BUT IT'S FINE IT HAPPENED *mentally counts*
