This piece takes place after New beginning and more like flood of words. Something that reader do every morning in hope to stay sane

Another sentient twst works here

Sometimes your own consciousness can play evil, very insidious jokes. For example, faking some traumatic memories, replacing them with softer versions. Or, on the contrary, to draw pictures of terrible “if only”, the events taking place in which are much worse than reality. The cherry on top is the fact when, sitting on your bed or in a comfortable favorite chair, you cannot remember something. A constantly elusive detail that seems incredibly important. Even more vital.

It's doubly terrible when all this happens at the same time.

Triplely, when you open your eyes you see in front of you on one side such a familiar interior, but at the same time sickeningly alien.

Looking around the room again, you immediately close your eyes, realizing that the “dream” is continuing. However, whether it is possible to continue to call it such is an open question. Barely healing wounds, abrasions on the legs and arms served as sufficient proof of reality, if the rough fabric of the blanket on the bed and the smell of dust in the air were not. The nails dig into the inner part of the palm of their own accord, a habit that have appeared not so long ago; the pain help wake up.

Blinking away the remnants of an incomprehensible feeling, with an effort of will you unclenched your fingers and moved them onto the soft fur of the Grimm still sleeping next to you. The cat purred contentedly from the touch, continuing to be in the kingdom of Morpheus. However, you aren't going to wake him up.

The gaze moved to the other free hand, exactly the same, covered with plasters, reliably hiding the scratches behind it. The hand undoubtedly belonged to you, repeating every planned movement. However, at the same time, it - and the whole body - seemed something foreign. Like a spare part of a doll that you wanted to tear off and throw away.

Sigh. The hand falls back onto the bed and the eyes close. Nothing else comes to mind, but the emptiness that has replaced the nightmares is not much to please. You begin to ask questions, which is better? Feel nothing or choke on tears every day and night. The answer is stuck somewhere in the middle, while you are thrown from one extreme to another.

The ear involuntarily picks up the sound as if someone is walking under the window. Exhaling sharply, you don't pay attention. Why bother if you know the answer to this question better than anyone else. At some point, you stopped doubting anything and taking sensations for granted. If you heard someone’s footsteps, it means someone definitely passed by.

In the end, they was definitely stubborn.

Another deep breath. Well, at least they had the conscience not to show up in person, barging in and disturbing the hastily put together fragile peace. It looked unreliable, and it was.

The singing of birds outside cause irritation out of all possible feelings, but the earplugs bought at Sam's store made it even worse, so you have to endure it. They muffled the sound, but, left alone with yourself and your own heartbeat in your ears, you again experienced what you tried so hard to lock behind seven locks. An ironic coffin that should have been wrapped in several rows of chains and thrown into the sea, but, unfortunately, you can’t do that so easily with mental problems. Otherwise, the Octavinelle's trio would have been happy to offer their services.

Exactly… it's been a long time since you remembered the characters or, should you say, the students. They have fully proven their ability to influence the outside world, you. If this is the first step towards acceptance, then this world can go to hell. However, you are already there.

The presence of Grimm and ghosts did not allow you to completely go crazy, start talking to yourself, or go communicate with them. The jokes about He-must-not-be-named come to mind again. You had two dozen of such persons. The solitude has definitely been good for you. You stopped waking up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night, clutching your throat. You stopped flinching at every shadow and imagining very real monsters outside the windows among the dark branches by the accompaniment of the howling wind.

You hated some more, some a little less. You wanted to strangle someone just like they threatened you so many times. However, over time, all emotions invariably subsided, memory softened the corners, and in the end you felt absolutely nothing for them. Only hostility when Grimm mentioned their names.

However, someone would be happy with such a scrap of feelings.

Another sigh. You catch the smell of roses, although there are no flowers in the house. All the bouquets, petals and perfume were thrown away. You didn't need another reason to empty your stomach. Again the mind plays games, but the aroma is better than real thorns, traces of which can still be found on the body.

Another, sharper and tart flavor begins to mix with the roses. Spices, consciousness helpfully suggests. Black tea, someone's perfume, sea salt. Until finally, a sharp, metallic smell hits your nose.

Eyes open instantly, breathing quickens. A minute later, the realization comes that there is nothing in the air except dust. The gaze darts from the cat to the window and then to the bedside clock, which shows 6 am. It's too early.

Exhaustedly dropping your head onto the pillow, you close your eyes again, but with the invariably stupid hope of waking up somewhere else.

I keep thinking 🤔 about @minzart Twst Fary Tale Universe (twst tftu) and @writingforatwistedworld Twst Self-Aware au being connected somehow

Let me explain:

In the Self-Aware au the entire land of Twisted Wonderland is worshipping the player aka Yuu along the Great 7 themselves because of this it is sorta implied that Yuu managed to not only interact but also befriend the Great 7 which led them to not be as horrible as their Disney versions which led them to be considered a great figure to the twst universe as well but what if-

The Great 7 where the cast from the tftu universe? So in the au Yuu managed to stop the Twst Overblot boys from doing their evil plans from either killing, scamming, poisoning and Taking over the entire world basically and made them the Great 7 that is known today. So that means the FT! Boys managed to be good (but not that good just tolerating some people) and managed to earn their titles and achievements which will be recorded and learned throughout decades.....Since this is all because of Yuu. They decided to give them the positions they currently have in the Self-Aware au.

This will also confirm the theory that the boys are reincarnations if the great 7.

Since the Yuu in the Self-Aware au is the player/reader (us) and the Yuu in the tftu universe can come back into their old world that means we are also reincarnations of the old Yuu which is why the Self-Aware boys are very obsessed with self-aware!Yuu to the point they want to force us to stay in their world forever

I’m not sure if requests are open for twst, if they aren’t feel free to ignore. How would the Sentient!JP! TWST characters (just in general), feel about deleting the JP! Game they deleted it for the new English release. Like the ones who have the ability to, would they transfer themselves in the newer version before they delete it? Sorry If I am not making sense.

A/N: It's 12:30am and I got the urge to sift through my inbox and answer a request or two. And because it's 12:30am, these are purely unedited drabbles, but uh hey, better than no content... right?

This is a topic I have considered before which definitely expands the whole sentient au. We already know that it's possible for some of the characters to back up their data on your phone, hack into its functions and so on, so it wouldn't be a surprise if the more powerful characters (Malleus, Lilia, Riddle, Idia, Leona, Vil, Azul, Floyd, Jade) were able to transfer their consciousness into the EN app before you delete it.

They do initially panic (and sulk) a bit when they catch wind of your decision to delete the JP app for the EN one. But once they calm down and think it over, the two applications are practically the same! They just need to transfer themselves over, plus there's the added benefit of making their custom dialogues seem much more natural, now that they don't have to rely on machine translated text to communicate with you (especially if you're not fluent in Japanese).

For those who can't and are not as strong, they have to be a lot more resourceful if they don't want to risk being deleted. They're striking deals with their rivals, researching into magic rituals and more. It's a flurry of panic on their end. Some of them curse the fact that you're choosing to start over without them while others are trying to be understanding of your decision. It's not their fault if their panic shows through when your logging into the JP app every now and then to clean things up and tie up loose ends! If their backup plans fail, they may truly be lost forever!

Summary: Basically you hadn't logged in twst for a while now (could be 2 days or more) for whatever reason. But sadly you didn't know, that your game is sentient.

Tw: yandere, bad grammar, death, murder, religious themes.

Plz forgive this world that is full of sinners-

Alright, let's begin on how it happened:

Lilia was as always waiting for your return. He made himself look presentable, and stayed nearby ramshackle to greet you when you log in (aka when you get weekly stuff like gems and etc)

You didn't come back that day, sadly.

So what does our dear fae do?

Pray. A lot.

He is afraid that he or someone has somehow wronged you.

We're you busy?

Were they not praying hard enough?

Did he need to kill someone-?

And like that, he tried to sleep.

The same was on second day.

But when the third day (afternoon actually) comes, oh he is going insane.

This world is so full of sin! It is filled with sinners to the brim isn't it? That's why you aren't coming back, he's sure of it!

So, the massacre started. You can't tell me otherwise. He prays that you come back, while he slays those, he deems sinners.

If it's for you, he's ready to starts/wage a war again.

Malleus

Congrats, it's the end of the world!

Trust me, if you logged in right at that moment, you would have the longest log in in your history.

Unlike Lilia, he immediately panicked. While you weren't around, the weather was terrible.

A few people probably died because of the thunder

He prays, and prays hard.

On the second day he tries to use his magic to see what you're doing (your camera)

If you're playing another game then he immediately destroys(burns) the world.

If you're busy, tries to wait.

If talking to someone, the first option happens aswell

On third day it's the end of the world. Literally.

Unless you decide to log in, at that exact moment, say bye-bye to everyone alive except a few faes and maybe people.

Silver

Understands that you may be busy.

But still prays nonetheless. (He was raised by Lilia, a cute lunatic after all)

Honestly is afraid that someone might've hurt you. What if you're in danger and he doesn't know about it??

He's supposed to be your knight in shining armor, protect you with his life. What if you're in danger rn and he cannot do anything about it???! (Not like could've helped even if you were, he's in game. But he could've told Malleus or Lilia, then you'd be in game sooner than expected)

Similarily to Lilia, starts massacring people calling them sinners.

But I feel like it's at the end of 2nd day? Stealthily btw

He was sleeping, then heard noises. People were talking about you and how they thought you abandoned them.

He was angry and uhh

Made ketchup for Lilia to cook.

Even if you did abandon them, it's not your fault! But he's sure you didn't, they probably just needed to get rid of sinners that have wronged you and made you upset!

Shocked

Prays

And then

Starts giving you offerings.

Since the day 1

He definitely needs to try harder! Everyone needs!

The reason you're not here is because they're not praying hard enough! They're not offering you what you would like! Of course you won't come back if they won't!

Literally kills everyone left and right.

And offers them to you.

Negative two out of ten, would not recommend.

Fr, he doesn't think that it could be 'cuz you're busy. Probably you're offended that they haven't devoted themselves to you completely.

He wishes that everyone would be like them, on valley of thorns. But sadly, some see you as an equal or just an all knowing entity. Or even worse, but he doesn't talk about Shaftlands. At least some nations are good.

But he still thinks they're wrong in thinking you can have flaws too.

It's their fault for you leaving them!

(1/3) just wanted to drop in and say I like your writing style a lot, and specifically I really appreciate how you set things up in your sentient TWST au. Characters getting antsy without the player's soothing/empowering effect is always fun to play with, but it feels like a lot of people writing sentient/similar aus just leave it at that without analyzing how it affects the characters on an individual level. With how you laid things out, not only does it drive home how addictive Yuu's presence

Wow, this is a lot. I even went back to reread the imposter stuff I published just to get a grasp back on things because it’s been a while and I wanted to make sure we were on the same page. First off, thank you! I love getting messages in the inbox and to see a three part message really threw me for a loop but in a good way.

I totally understand that. I actually tend to dislike when writers make characters act a certain way with no rhyme or reason. Which is why even if I’m trying to write something more relaxed or small, I want to have at least a bit of real genuine logical/believable reason behind their actions. Most of the time I write for twst is actually spent considering how they would react, think, act in their situations, even if I’m writing hcs. If they all act/react the same, where’s the fun in that? At that point they all see like clones. Additionally if there’s no real relationship between them and the MC, their actions then feel downright weird or even pointless. Like for example, I hate seeing yandere AUs or stories where the yandere sees the MC and magically falls for them within a minute. This is why even if all the twst characters adore/are obsessed with the MC, I try to make their adoration different from each other and mention why the MC means a lot to them aside from how the MC’s “divine grace” affected them individually.

I feel like Grim is often overlooked, not just in my imposter AU but overall by the whole fandom. Myself included sometimes. Like, he’s actually a fairly interesting character that has had self-growth and has a mysterious past, and I feel that he’s only going to get even more interesting as time goes on. Anyways, yeah, you can bet that Grim will demand tribute for all his work. He kept the MC alive the whole time while the others were either trying to hunt them down or kill them! He’ll won’t hold back as he sees their remorse and guilt, he’ll continue on boasting about how he was right by saving the MC and they were all wrong!

Minami ramble under the cut

While I know the base for GIFFany is yanderes, Minami isn't one!

Rather Minami was always a bit "off". A bit expressionless, uncommon interests for her age, smart academically but terrible socially and strangely morbid for a child. In her teens Minami tried to mask her "wrong" personality with a sweet one.

Thing is, if she was expressionless ppl thought she had no feelings, but if she kept a pleasant face always and hid anything unpleasant they ALSO disregarded her feelings.

The twst of Soos and GIFFany's relationship was: Minami got a RSA boyfriend who was troubled and she was the shoulder he cried on. She never opened up herself in fear that'd make him leave. Then a better girl came along, and the RSA guy didn't think Minami would mind if they just broke it off. After all nothing bothers Minami.

(tangent but I like my RSA ocs to be people with good intentions/cores who hurt ppl without malice or realizing, as a counterpart to NRC/WHA)

Well. It did bother her. Minami destroyed his room not in a "you're only mine!" way, but in a "how dare you use me like a game!".

GIFFany talks about her programmers realizing she was sentient and dangerous, trying to end her, but she killed them instead. Minami's first rejection for being "wrong" was from her mother who Minami cut off her life after her parents' divorce.

I like GIFFany as a villain, but the way she is treated like a mere game despite being sentient IS sad. Whether her obsessiveness comes from unchangeable code or desperation to not be alone, it's tragic either way. Obvs she's still a villain tho. Like. That should be obvs looking at the shit she pulls. So that's the vibe I wanted with Minami too.

Anyways I found that Alex tidbit interesting!

Personally while a GIFFany redemption would be interesting. bc Witching Hour Academy is a school of villains, for my ocs I don't aim for an external redemption but rather they change internally for their own benefit (which often benefits those close to them anyways)

Post OB Minami isn't sweeter and kinder towards others. She's more open of her cynic and derisive thoughts, but her kind words are truer and not just for show. She gives up on external love and decides to love herself most of all. This, tho, lets her have stronger relationships with Jojo (a less dependent relationship) and Giselle (a self centered diva who comes to respect her)

Seeing how the familiar world was falling apart.. a very strange feeling. Especially when the awareness of the reality of what was happening had not yet completely set in head. When you did not fully understand that from now on this was your reality.

It all started very imperceptibly, with simple little things that were so easy to overlook, write off as a play of the imagination. Increased luck in gachas was just random. Constant "Easter eggs" here and there. All players saw them, not just you, right? However friends were often surprised when you told them about it.

When your phone just started to turn off more often than usual and glitter strangely, you attributed it to a virus or a bug in the program. It was a pity that the programmer did not find anything and the device returned to you safe and sound.

You began to hide it, put it as far away from yourself as possible, afraid to touch it sometimes. Parents often complained that you spend a lot of time on the Internet. Why were they looking at you with concern now? Of course, it was not every day that their child develops paranoia at the sight of technology.

“I did this for you” You shifted your tired gaze to the screen shining in the dark. On a character that hovered in the air with a pair of bats and such a familiar, mocking smile.

You might not have lost your mind, but those around you had long thought otherwise. Snorting, you looked away and stared back into the darkness. You just tried to ignore the game on your phone, wishing you had not downloaded it.

Anne, the beloved prefect of Ramshackle. Friendly, yet blunt. Caring, yet not afraid to call you out.

Impulsive. Cheeky. Surprisingly mature. She makes friends, she makes rivals. And she is somehow able to capture anyone's heart.

She is the perfect self-insert, and that is all thanks to me.

Hiya! The name's Annie. I practically run this show. My main job is being in charge of making them scenarios. Whether that means threatening the other Rosla or whipping the twst cast in shape (making 'em fall in love), I do it all.

Is it super tiring? Yes. Is it super fun? Also yes.

It is much harder than it looks to make Azul Ashengrotto not obsess over finances for the remaining of the daydream (But well, we want pathetic scheming man). Sometimes, when the characters are being too difficult, I create my own clone version out of them. Though it's much more fun if it's the original souls we played with. A bit more difficult, but their surrender is quite satisfying.

When I'm in charge of threatening playing with the other Rosla, I act pretty childish and smorally grey.

It's fun, showing Mayuu's deepest, darkest secrets to her greatest nemesis. Or to her greatest allies. I get an entertaining reaction either way.

"Okay! Let's see which yandere you'll be stuck with this time, Mayuu!"

Age: It depends lol. My age fluctuates a lot! After all, I'm sometimes played by the author, and she's much younger than that. Other times, I play a wise 400 year old. But yeah, I usually look 16. So 16, I guess?

Fun tidbit: I'm the only twst insert who canonically has powers! The rest of them have it on the mage AU. I could open up portals to different dimensions, like that yandere one. (Though don't tell any of the others that, else they'll make me return them to the real world.) I could also make my own dimensions, or alternate versions of them. My favorite past time is plopping a sleeping Mayuu into a romantic dimension and see her panic at all the positive attention.

Fun tidbit 2 since I'm awesome: I'm also the one in charge for your asks! Aka I throw pies at Riddle while the author takes notes :>

Not-so-fun tidbit: I know I ain't real or anything. Am sentient. Its really cool, but there are some not-so-nice side effects. Some of which you will see in the "background" part.

I really hate it when I've got nothin' to do. When she doesn't think of me or twst. It doesn't happen often. But the nothingness I feel, ugh. It's so void-ish.

Plus the existential crisis is weird. Like, who am I? Am I Annie? Am I Anne? Something else entirely? Nothing at all? Who am I? What am I? What should I do? Whom shall I play when were not playing a game? These thoughts roll in my brain, refusing to leave. And i am left to ponder. What if I am nothing?

The pain that is caused from all of my questions. I hate it. And so instead, I opt to doing nothing. No smiles, no talk, nothing. At least the void is softer than the rabbit hole.

Background:

Unlike the other Rosla, I don't have a family. I've been in her brain for as long as I can remember. I guess the other Rosla could count as my family, but they all have families of their own. Sometimes I can see their family. Lucky me, huh? I'm the most connected to the real world. But I'm the farthest from being real. Aw gosh, I hate being mushy. Anyways, here's Anne's character profile.

Fun tidbit: Anne loves cosplaying. And impersonation usually accompanies that. Let's just say, Heartslabyul had one too many mini freak-outs :)

Not so fun tidbit: Maybe Rollo was right. Maybe magic does corrupts character. After all, Anne was the sweetest child growing up. Yet now you can see her push Rollo into the pile of fire lotus. That's what you get for hurting her Deuce.

𝘿𝙀𝙎𝘾 :: in which mari is a twisted wonderland player who finds that their games are— colliding?!

𝙉𝙊𝙏𝙀 📝 :: sentient twst au isn’t mine, the first instances of this au came from @dreamii-yume and @pandas-pandemonium ‘s fantastic blogs. I just wanted to add a certain scenario to the pile! Also ignore the fact that I accidentally posted this on my twst x reader blog instead of my oc blog. I’m really sorry.

𝙒𝘼𝙍𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙂/𝙨 :: yandere behavior

𝘽𝙀𝙂𝙄𝙉𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙂 :: Mari was already a fan of twisted wonderland for quite some time now when she first found the game while hanging out in Leviathan’s room. It was in a language she didn’t understand so she was disappointed that she couldn’t play the game at first. Leviathan wanted to make her happy so he used magic and his programming skills to create a version of the game that’s in English so that she could play it. Yes, he received many kisses that night.

However, the use of magic on this game may have had... other effects.

𝙋𝙇𝘼𝙔𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙂𝘼𝙈𝙀 :: The first one that took an interest in Mari was Rook. His keen eyes spotted how she seemed so “angelic”. That’s why he kept popping up for her. Even if she chose a different character for the free ceremonial robes card, he still ended up in her cards somehow. He constantly greets her during log ins and she greets him back in a soft voice. She’s the type of player who likes to save up as much as possible for her fave so she’ll be grinding crystals very often.

𝙊𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙍 𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙏𝙀𝙍𝙎 𝘼𝙒𝘼𝙆𝙀𝙉 :: the more she spends time playing, the more characters that start awakening. They see how happy she is when she gets a card she wants so they start to mess with the game’s rates so that she can get whoever she wants. There’s still a competition on becoming her fave but generally still make sure she doesn’t suspect them of being sentient.

But some things don’t go as planned

𝘼 𝙉𝙀𝙒 𝙂𝘼𝙈𝙀 :: yes. Considering that Mari pretty much got every card she wants from every character, there’s not much to work on at one point. Every card was levelled to the max, she even finished the new events, not a single thing was left unfinished. She did what she had to and was happy with what she achieved. So, she started a new game and got busy. What game exactly? Genshin Impact.

𝙍𝙀𝘼𝘾𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉𝙎 :: Quite obviously, the twst characters are upset by the news of her finding a new game to play. She can’t just discard them once she’s bored with them! This leads them to following her to Genshin Impact.

𝙂𝙀𝙉𝙎𝙃𝙄𝙉 𝙄𝙈𝙋𝘼𝘾𝙏 :: while Mari plays Genshin, she can’t help but notice that she’s achieving quite a lot in it as well. When she needs a specific item, she finds more of it in their respective places than usual.

Mari: hmm, I really need more of these philanemo mushrooms. Man, if Jade were here, he could probably grow so many

Mari: oh wow there’s so many of them here.

Drops from enemies are amazingly great too. She’s able to fully build her main and other characters.

𝙒𝙃𝙀𝙉 𝙎𝙃𝙀 𝙍𝙀𝘼𝙇𝙄𝙎𝙀𝙎 :: it surprisingly doesn’t take her too long to understand that her game is haunted, likely as a result of Levi’s tinkering with the game.

𝙃𝘼𝙋𝙋𝙔 𝙀𝙉𝘿𝙄𝙉𝙂 ? :: Mari finds a way to communicate with the twst boys and says that they can help her with genshin and she can play a lot more twisted wonderland right after. They agree and have fun playing with her.

Announcement

Wow, I can't believe I'm actually doing this...

I am starting a new series! Do you all remember that AU we talked about back in January? I'm starting a series for it! (If you are new/unaware of what the AU is, it's the Sentient AU that @dreamii-yume and @pandas-pandemonium talked about on their blogs, you can look their for more information. I would suggest using Yume's tumblr archive though, because those asks were answered back in January as well, I'm pretty sure.)

The series will be in multiple parts; Basically a CYOA. It will be mostly fluff, angst, and light yandere. There will be a few extra smut scenes, but it will be written separately from the main series so I can keep it SFW.

I'm sorry this is all very sudden, but I hope you will all enjoy it! I might also go to a few bigger twst creators for help/shout outs if they do/offer them, because my blog/SFW works haven't been getting as much attention.

Updates on the Sentient Twst fics

Hey y'all,

So I'm writing up this quick post as an update as to what's been going on, or rather, what suddenly came into my head literally just this morning.

My initial plan for the 1k follower special was to do a Sentient! Twst fic in which Y/N gets transported into the game's world through Malleus's magical hijinks and cooperation from the whole student body. The main driving point is that Malleus is only able to keep Y/N in the game world for up to 1001 days/nights (originally 1000, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity for an Arabian Nights reference).

Then I thought, hol' up, 1000 days is like... 3+ years isn't it?? That's a LOT of time for a lot of things to happen.

So I sort of scrapped the idea and decided to do one where the whole student body is thrown in to Y/N's world from their phone, y'know, fleshing out the drabble requests I'd received over the past couple years? Then I read through that draft from a few months ago and didn't quite like it, and so I decided to return to the original idea: 1001 Nights in Twisted Wonderland.

But again, that is a lot of time, in which it feels really long for a 1k special, especially since it's going to split into 7 parts, 1 for each dorm and an extra chapter to wrap things up and make things more ominous than it should. Then it struck me: Why not just make this into a full fledged fic??

And now I have my ao3 account open and I'm debating over posting the prologue since that's done, and the Heartslabyul chapter is like... 10% done? Idk, I haven't quite figured the whole plot out yet. It's just a vague idea of how I want Y/N's stay in Twisted Wonderland, swarmed by rabid yanderes will go.

Then I also wondered: Wait- how about that 1k follower special that was promised literally eons ago?? Should I just take that other Sentient! Twst fic and run with it? Because dang guys, I haven't written a proper fic in so long, that I'm scared both ideas will end up stretching really long and I'm not too sure what to do.

So uhh, TL;DR: Maybe y'all will get two different Sentient Yandere fics in the future? Idk, help me out here please lmao
