Return of the dragon | chapter four: it’s a wonderful lie

Thomas Mann was proving to be a real pain in the ass. He was supposed to be a nobody, someone she spoke to once then never remembered but he was intent on sticking around. They had gone on a few dates and he was a nice guy just not for Grace. In truth she found him boring and mildly irritating. He rarely elected to aske her questions due to him being too busy dick riding her father. I fucking hate my dad she thought. She found he lacked passion and adventure and creativity, he was quite content to stay where he was born and live the same life as his dad and never be original. There was nothing inherently wrong with Thomas it was just that she could never even picture herself liking him let alone be her husband, if she would ever want one.

So when he called her on a Wednesday afternoon and said he was taking her to a diner he likes she was intrigued. Fancy restaurant dates were never her thing and she loved American diners. He had rolled up in a red Lamborghini and driven her to a small diner on the outskirts of Manhattan. It had dark blue walls and shiny leather boots. Memorabilia of all decades decorated the walls and in the corner was a mahogany jukebox. Grace was ecstatic, this is what drew her in. she couldnt care less about fancy dinners and expensive gifts, she wanted individuality and she found it far more meaningful if someone learned what she liked and made a charming date she would adore them forever. He led her to a booth In the far right corner and sat across from her. They made small talk about their weeks until their food arrived. When grace was halfway through her burger he cleared his throat and looked at her expectantly. She glanced back confused and put the burger down with a small frown on her face.

"I actually brought you here to talk about something, away from the paparazzi and listeners." Now she was even more confused.

"is everything okay?"

"my dad wants me to marry and expects me to have kids in the near future and well I know yours does too and I was hoping we could work out an arrangemen-"

oh her heart dropped. He didnt actually like her and had no interest in actually forming a connection. why would he Im me.

"Im sorry but no. I have no interest in any of this" she watched his face drop and his hands fall to his lap awkwardly before she put the pieces together. "who is she?"

"what?" got you the look on his face confirmed her suspicions. He didnt look shocked he looked caught and  mentally she patted herself on the back for being so smart.

"the girl youre in love with. I take it that if you marry her your cash flow stops because your dad wants you to marry someone higher up, someone like me."

"yes but be honest grace your dad expects the same. Have to marry someone he approves of someone he picked. Were both stuck in this I thought you might help me. We would be married only to the public and our parents but in private we could do as we wished."

"I dont want to marry you or anyone"

"but-"

"look, we could pretend to be together for our families sake and find a way to convince our parents it wouldnt be good for us to marry. Ill get my dad off my back and you can search for a woman in a similar predicament to you, Im sure there are many"

"thank-you Grace really"she smiled at him for a second then sunk her teeth back into her burger

At dinner that Saturday night Grace told tony about how she and Thomas were now in a relationship and watched him nearly jump for jump for joy, she probably would have felt bad about lying to him if he wasnt such a dick. She had a feeling Pepper already knew however, she didnt exactly seem convinced and was oddly quiet the rest of the night. She had walked grace to the elevator to their pent house and kissed her on the cheek.. 

"I only want you to be happy" she said quietly and Grace just smiled back and hugged her goodnight.

"alright now that the boring shits over I have something to announce" tony stark had said to the team, some looked exited like Sam, others grimaced like Bucky or Nat or simply sat their bracing themselves, like grace was. If her father decided to announce her new relationship status in front of the team and in front of Loki especially she would probably punch him straight in the jaw and hope it breaks. "the avengers team is having their first every pool party. An actual pool party and not a few drunk people swimming in their underwear like its high school again"

"who did that in high school" Steve asked with a confused look on his face forgetting not everyone on the team went to high school in the 1930s

"I did" Grace smirked.

"you were home-schooled?" tony said with a look of confusion.

"and yet I was invited to every teenagers pool party in Manhattan"

"moving on" he mumbled "its an avengers thing for team building but Sylvie is welcome to come she was now officially living in a spare room at the compound" Grace still couldnt get the strange sense of déjà vu out of her brain every time she looked at her.

"could I bring Thomas, he would love this sort of thing" this was her key to selling their relationship she mentioned casually that he swam in high school and loved the pool and did her best to pretend like she hadnt read that in an interview article at 3 am the night before.

"of course you can" she caught Loki rolling her eyes as she smiled at her dad.

"I thought this was for avengers not riff raff" he really was a ginormous prick.

"the stark family always makes exceptions for things like boyfriends" and she paused and looked him up and down "psychopaths apparently too" a satisfied smug grew on her face as she watched Thor hold his brother down to prevent him for leaning across the table with a dagger in hand. She truly loved pissing him off and since he often started most of their fights Grace felt he deserved it. She only wished he would look less attractive glaring at her.

"perhaps,"Steve interjected "we can all use this as a way of working out our grievances with each other and stop trying to kill each other" the last part was said in emphasis as he glared at Grace and Loki, both of which did not seem pleased.

"oh come on its hardly my fault hes got such a rod up his ass."

"nor is it mine that the only person willing to be with her is the most dull man in the universe"

"fuck you Loki"

"Kunta" he mumbled at her in old Norse

"LOKI" Thor bellowed at his brother.

and thats meeting adjourned Thor marched Loki out of the room and grace watched and rolled her eyes until she stormed out too.

A loud rummaging awoke Grace from her sleep, it was coming from the bathroom and for a second she debated leaving it and hoping nobody killed her in her sleep. Begrudgingly, she got out of bed and slowly walked towards the bathroom. She opened the door as quietly as she could but to her disappointment it was only Loki. He looked up and saw her in the mirror and glared at her reflection.

"oh goodie youre back" she murmured sarcastically, he rolled his eyes and continued dabbing his arm with a rag. Upon further inspection she saw that he had injured himself which was odd because it was nearly impossible but she only took pleasure in his suffering. He removed the now crimson rag and she saw just how grim his wound looked. “that is disgusting” she cringed and Loki looked impossibly more irritated.

"Im perfectly well stark dont you worry"

"isnt that disappointing. You woke me up and I find out our not even dying"

"its 10am why were you asleep?"

"fuck off I had a late night" he rolled his eyes again and threw the bloody rag in the bathroom bin.

"out with that boring man again stark? You may be you but surely theres someone else who wants to be with you." She walked out of the room and slammed the door shouting "bye asshole I hope you bleed out"

After getting to know Jax and the club you decided to stay around Charming. Get to know everyone and make up for lost time. The one thing you wanted to do with Jax was to help work on a bike with him.

So what did he do? He went out and got a frame. He planned out that you two were going to build it from scratch.

"I'll order the tires and brakes while we work on the carburetor". Jax pulled out his phone.

"Sweet, I can not wait to ride". You squealed.

"Woah, you're not riding until you get your license plus a year. These are not toys. They can hurt you, bad".

"Oh come on. I have the best teacher ever to show me. Please, dad". You clamped your hand over you mouth. This was the first time you ever used the d word with Jax.

"Dad? Huh. Sounds right". Jax let a toothy chuckle.

"I dont have to call you that if you dont want me to".

"No. No. I like it. Different but I like it, daughter".

"That is odd. But I'm glad we're doing this. Thank you".

Over the next couple weeks, you worked on the bike and rode the dirt bike around the garage. It was embarrassing to be seen on a bike for a child but it was good practice for the real thing.

"Hey, take it easy". Chibs laughed as he yelled when you almost ran over Juice who was in your way.

"Sorry, uncle". You giggled, riding along.

"I think she's ready for the big boy here". Chibs patted Jax on the back.

"I dont know. She seems childish when riding, sometimes".

"She reminds me of you, Jacky Boy. The las is ready".

"Yeah. It's just a big step. I dont want to mess it up for her". Jax wiped his hands on the rag as he watched you.

"You wont. She's been talking about this since you started the bike".

"I know".  Jax smiled as he saw you laughing and having fun while riding. The same way he does when he rides.

After the bike was done, Jax took you to get your license. He made you ride the little dirt bike there. That was really embarrassing but it was all worth it when you came out and saw all your uncles there with your bike.

"I passed". You joyfully screamed.

"Alright. Congratulations". They all swarmed around you. Celebrating with you.

"You ready kiddo"? Jax asked as he handed you your helmet.

"I'm ready, dad". You mounted your bike along with the others. The start of the bike sent chills up your spine. It felt great.

"If we go to fast just tell us. We'll slow down". Jax reassured you.

"Just try to keep up old man". You giggled as you took off. Jax shook his head and followed. You were just like him in almost every way.

I think I’ve mentioned before, but I dropped out of two universities in my life. Parents forced me into journalism (if you like writing, write REAL things that SELL, not books or translations!), and then tourism&management (economics is a lot better than whatever you want to study!)  I hated both with a burning passion and dropped out after wasting 2 years in the first and 3.5 in the second. I’ll leave aside the fact that everyone who knows me insults me for this (”there’s fucking idiots who can finish universities i refuse to believe YOU cant”), or the fact that my parents are both gaslighting me like nobody’s business on ME wanting them (I told them at 18 I want art, history, or foreign languages. they said that’s crap, go to journalism if you want to do essays. ok. drop out. alex stop wasting your life do an uni. ok. art, history, or foreign languages. nope get a real degree like economics. ok. drop out. alex you dropped out of two universities you’re worthless. ok mom and dad maybe i wouldnt have if you wouldve let me go to art, history, or foreign languages. what do you mean alex we told you to go to art, history, or foreign languages, you wanted to go to journalism and economy :)  ). I’ll also leave aside the fact that often times I DO feel like the ultimate loser and failure for not being able to finish two fucking universities I got through halfway.

The thing NOW is that I’ve been considering for a time that if I ever have the circumstances and money, I should just goddamn pursue psychology. Why? Simple.  It fucking hurts when I see distressed friends and all I can do is just .... pat pat. I’m here if you wanna talk. Like I wish I KNEW the ACTUAL fucking techniques therapists use because I WANT to help my friends at least, I want to help them so much, that it would probably be worth going through the university just for it.  Or maybe there’s some free tips online I should use.

It’s also iffy because I extend the offer to people but... not many take it. And don’t get me wrong, I can SEE why. I’m a dumbfuck who doesn’t know the correct procedure into talking to people. I’m a stranger to many. It looks fishy. “why the fuck is this person I talk about videogames with offering to listen to my life’s problems..... sounds fake” etc But like.. man idk.

I just wish I could do more for people in my circle of friends / acquaintances. Not just take an obnoxious mother hen role. Especially since I know platitudes only work half the time and the shit I say to avoid platitudes is questionable at best. Your first OC ever?god. its got to be Super Kitty. when i was like … an incredibly small child I used to draw comic strips about this feline caped crusader, who was friends with everyone in the city, and the comics always involved him stopping an evil banana man from stealing money from the local bank. He was paid with donuts for his service to the city. i still remember how to draw him.

14. Introduce an OC with a tragic backstory Mmm… there’s a few of them, most obviously Lent (whose background I did a short comic about). Basically his entire town got eaten by ghosts and turned into zombies, he only barely survived with a sliver of his soul left.

16. Which one of your OCs would be the best at biology (school subject)? Probably Bronze’s dad! I don’t talk about him much, but his name’s Devon Reed, and he was a biotech developer specialising in android design. 

I often describe him as being something of a reverse Arthur Weasley - a very fatherly scientist fascinated to the moon and back with the concept of magic.

Any OC OTPs? having trouble thinking of a lot of them right now, but there’s Eric + Lent & Naiadine + Tailias from Emerald Sigil, Avken + Baromet from my space campaign world, Sydd + Wyvv from my unnamed campaign world, and I’ve been considering Westrin + Servant as an interesting dynamic in Servant’s story

18. Any OC crackships? My character Bismuth and @autistictimeknight​‘s oc Eros. Theyre so fucking in love, I love it. Its been awhile but I do still think about them sometimes.

As I recall, Eros is an empath, she can read other people’s emotions. But Bismuth is a robot, and Eros can’t read her. Because of this Eros can let go of her fear of unintentionally manipulating the emotions of her date, which would hold her back from most other relationships. 

19. Introduce an OC that means a lot to you (and explain why)Hey, meet Bronze! I definitely do not talk about them every five minutes, why would you say that. 

Bronze was with me through two of the hardest years of my life so far, and being a DND character they grew with me, both as a fighter and as a person. They were non-binary before I started using those pronouns, they were the first character or person or anything who I fought someone about using the right pronouns for, they make a great icebreaker for if I want to see how someone reacts to non-binary pronouns … 

One funny anecdote about Bronze is that when I first made them, their “gimmick” was that they would sometimes glitch out and mess up their speech, mostly because I wanted an excuse not to engage in the roleplaying (which I was very bad at). The interesting thing is that as I got better at interacting with the group, we both grew out of needing it very quickly. 

I’m very proud of Bronze. 

20. Do any of your OCs sing? If they sing, care to share more details (headcanon voice, what kind of songs they like etc)?Westrin is a bard! His singing voice sounds like Bill Wurtz and these are his theme songs.

21. Your most artistic OCProbably Westrin again, he writes a lot of songs… and Hallux is a game designer?

22. Is there any OC of yours people tend to mischaracterize? If yes, how? I honestly dont know… no-one talks to me about them, haha! 

people use all manner of pronouns for bronze, though. 

23. Introduce OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like?I’m gonna go with Enza for this one. Enza Colie was originally written entirely because I wanted an antagonist for a short starring his sister, Jane Colie. But the more I fleshed out his reasonings for acting how he did and explored his character, the more I realised he’d make an even more interesting character if allowed to have a redemption arc, too. 

I just want to state for the record that I was very reluctant to the idea, and he basically dragged his way out of the villain pit entirely of his own accord. I am dubiously proud of him, and also a bit scared. 

24. If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why?Probably either Eric (Big Man, Best Friend), Crocus (Mother figure), Reed (Father Figure), Westrin (hed just make a good friend u kno??), or Bismuth (she makes good conversation!)

25. The OC that resembles you the most (same hobby, height, shared like/dislike for something etc?)probably the homestuck fan-troll Hallux, but that’s mostly because they were based on a troll-sona I made awhile ago. They’re a hope/prospit game designer who is small and full of rage and love

Have you ever had to change your OC’s design or something else about them against your will? this is an interesting one… i don’t think ive ever had something Bad in a design ive done called to my attention by someone, but I did create my character Servant at around the same time I was first really expanding the diversity of my casts. (since i don’t talk about him often, a little context: he’s a magic spirit creature bound to human form to serve the royal family of the land and follow their orders.) 

somehow, younger-and-more-stupid me managed to have the revelation that making this “eternal slave” character literally anything other than a white man, especially as a white author, would be Pretty Not Good. im … thats really, really not something i should pat myself on the back for, but i do consider it one of the biggest bullets dodged in my artistic career so far that i realised that not all representation is good representation so quickly, before i could make that incredibly, incurably stupid mistake. 

after that, trying to make sure my characters and their presentations don’t harm anyone pretty much has become a paranoia. i don’t seem to have stepped on any toes yet, but when it inevitably happens, please let me know - i didnt know, and i want to fix it!

Crocus is a motherly figure who just exudes friendliness, while Sarle is .. very much not that, a researcher studying very gruesome things and pushing the boundaries of reality. 

- Jane and Enza Colie. I haven’t talked a whole lot about either of them here, but I’d rather leave their story to do the talking whenever I get around to it. Essentially, the both of them were intended to do the dirty work for their crime boss family, but Jane ditched to study medicine. Most of the conflict between the two of them comes out of Enza not understanding why she made the choice she did, and coming to understand how he’s been manipulated.

I can talk about Westrin, though. Westrin (a demigod of many things, but namely bards, travel, travelers, and people who are lost) often becomes close friends with mortals, sometimes practically adopting them. These people who consider him family, and people who have received his blessing, are able to use his surname, Brilanta, as their own if they choose. So I guess all of the Brilantas are siblings, at least in spirit. 

Oh, and XEN09 has like, seven siblings. Xe is the second-oldest, and least remarkable.

aside from the entire “bronze-tangential characters” thing i mentioned awhile back, I tend to really like designing characters with hair color lighter than their skin color. it just looks so cool man. i love drawing freckles but dont put them on enough characters. i like really curly hair, but also really long and flowy hair. i like drawing triangular body types, and pointy/prominent noses.

Rep. Jamie Raskin began oral arguments in the second Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump by assuring senators that he wouldnt lecture them endlessly like a college professor.

Raskin, D-Md., a former 25-year constitutional scholar at American University, cited a line from W.H. Auden that a professor is someone who speaks while other people are sleeping.

I know there are a lot of people who are dreading endless lectures about the Federalist papers, Raskin said. Please breathe easy.

Raskin said the case from House Democrats will focus on the cold, hard facts. He argued that Trumps defense team wanted to halt the trial without evidence by calling it unconstitutional.

They want to call the trial over before any evidence is even introduced, Raskin said.

House Democrats opened the second Senate impeachment trial against former President Donald Trump shortly after 1 p.m. EST, arguing;the case is constitutional despite him having left office.

The debate opens a historic trial of the only president to be impeached twice and the only impeachment trial of a president who is no longer in office. The Senate is sitting as a jury to decide whether Trump incited the insurrection Jan. 6 at the Capitol that left five dead.

Three House Democrats serving as prosecutors, who are called managers, are presenting arguments Tuesday: Reps. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, Joe Neguse of Colorado and David Cicilline of Rhode Island.

The House managers and Trumps defense team will divide up to four hours for arguments about whether the case is constitutional. The Senate will then vote on whether to dismiss the case.

The Senate is expected to uphold the trial as constitutional because senators already voted 55-45 to support the proceedings last month. But that vote also suggested Trump could be acquitted because a two-thirds majority is required for conviction and more than one-third of the chamber found the trial unconstitutional.

Trumps defense team led by Bruce Castor Jr. and David Schoen has argued the trial is unconstitutional because Trump is no longer in office. They said the Senate has no jurisdiction over Trump as a private citizen.

Raskin Brought Daughter To Congress On Day Of Riot: Of Course Its Safe

Rep. Jamie Raskin choked up repeatedly Tuesday as he recalled assuring his daughter, Tabitha, and son-in-law, Hank, that it would be safe to watch the House count Electoral College votes on Jan. 6.

Raskin, D-Md., said the young adults watched the proceedings from the balcony above the chamber before returning to an office where they barricaded the door. While separated from Raskin, they sent desperate texts to loved ones while hiding beneath a table.

They thought they were going to die, Raskin said amid tears.

Raskin said hell never forget the haunting sound of a battering ram that rioters pounded against the House door. He recalled how a rioter mercilessly pummeled a police officer with an American flag pole. Other officers suffered brain damage, had their eyes gouged and one lost three fingers, Raskin said. Officer Brian Sicknick died from his injuries the next day.

Raskin gestured to the pin on his lapel identifying him as a member of the House and said lawmakers were removing them as they evacuated.

When he was later reunited with his 24-year-old daughter, Raskin apologized and said it would be safe the next time she visited. She told him she didnt want to return.

Cassidy Joins Group Of Republicans Who Support Trump Trial

Though Republicans joined Democrats in pushing the impeachment trial of;Donald Trump;forward Tuesday,;it still doesn’t appear as if Democrats have enough GOP backing to convict the former president.

House Democratic impeachment managers need at least 67 of the 100;senators to vote to convict Trump in order to secure a conviction. But 44 Republican senators voted Tuesday that the trial was unconstitutional, more than enough to block a Trump conviction.

Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana added his name to the list of Republican senators who have said the trial is constitutional, denying a challenge from Trump’s legal team. He joins Sens.;Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania who had already;voted to support the legality of the trial last month.;

Cassidy;was the only GOP Senator who originally opposed the trial to vote in support of it Tuesday.

Cassidy praised;the opening arguments by House managers, who are prosecuting the case, after Tuesdays proceedings ended.;

“The House managers were focused. They were organized. They relied upon both precedent, the Constitution and legal scholars,” he said.;”They made a compelling reason. President Trump’s team was disorganized. They did everything they could but to talk about the question at hand. And when they talked about it, they kind of glide it over, almost as if they were embarrassed of their arguments.”

‘i Do Not Know Who The Whistleblower Is’

Did Alexander Vindman talk to the whistleblower about Trump’s 25 July phone call with Ukraine’s president?

That certainly seems to be what Republican Devin Nunes believes.

After a few questions about Hunter Biden and Ukraine, Nunes started asking the two witnesses about whether they spoke to the press about the now famous Trump phone call.

He started with Jennifer Williams, who said she did not, but that was just a feint. The real fireworks came when Vindman spoke of the two people he talked to. The first was George Kent, the senior State Department Ukraine expert who had himself testified before the committee last week.

The other was… an intelligence community official.

For those who haven’t been following closely, it has been widely reported that the whistleblower – the individual whose complaint set off the chain reaction that has led to these impeachment hearings – was a member of the intelligence community.

When Democrat Adam Schiff cut in, saying “these proceedings will not be used to out the whistleblower”, the audience let out an audible “oooh”.

But Vindman has testified that he doesn’t know who the whistleblower is, Nunes responded, so how could he out that person?

Things got tense.

When Nunes referred to Vindman as “Mr”, the Army officer curtly corrected him that it he should be addressed as “Lieutenant Colonel Vindman”.

They may believe that if they undercut that person’s credibility, the rest of the allegations will be treated with greater scepticism.

Senate Oks Impeachment Trial Guidelines Showing It Could Wrap Up Next Week

The Senate approved guidelines for how former President Donald Trumps impeachment trial will operate, a schedule that could allow proceedings to wrap up early next week.

The resolution outlines this tentative schedule:

Tuesday: Four hours of debate followed by a vote on whether its constitutional to hold the trial.

Wednesday and Thursday: House impeachment managers will have 16 hours over two days to make their case.

Friday and Saturday:;Trumps lawyers will have 16 hours over two days to argue their case.

After the arguments, senators will have four hours to ask questions of the House impeachment managers and Trumps counsel. Then either House managers or Trump’s team could make a request for witnesses, which could significantly prolong the trial. Only a simple majority is needed to call a witness.

If no witnesses are called, the trial could conclude early next week with two hours of closing statement for each side. The trial would then conclude with a final vote on whether to convict or acquit the former president.

The Constitution, in Article I, Section 5, gives each chamber the power to punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two-thirds, expel a member. At this point, 1994 individuals have served in the U.S. Senate. Of those, just 15 have been expelled and 14 of those were expelled for supporting the Confederacy during the Civil War.

In other words, Senate expulsion is possible, but incredibly rare.

Senate impeachment, meaning an impeachment trial for a senator, is rarer still, having occurred only once, with Sen. William Blount of Tennessee in 1797. But the Blount trial left an open question as to whether impeachment of a Senator is possible.

Blount was expelled for attempting to help the British take over part of Florida, in a scheme where he stood to profit. After he was expelled, Congress additionally held an impeachment trial. The Senate voted that it did have the power to impeach him, but it remains unclear if senators believed that was because he had been a senator or if it was because he had already been expelled.

We spent a minute on this here because Mr. Blount is certain to come up in this impeachment trial more than 200 years later.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate acquitted Donald Trump on Saturday in his second impeachment trial in a year, with fellow Republicans blocking conviction over the former presidents role in the deadly assault by his supporters on the U.S. Capitol.

The Senate vote of 57-43 fell short of the two-thirds majority needed to convict Trump on a charge of incitement of insurrection after a five-day trial in the same building ransacked by his followers on Jan. 6 shortly after they heard him deliver an incendiary speech.

In the vote, seven of the 50 Senate Republicans joined the chambers unified Democrats in favoring conviction.

How the Senate voted

Trump left office on Jan. 20, so impeachment could not be used to remove him from power. But Democrats had hoped to secure a conviction to hold him responsible for a siege that left five people including a police officer dead and to set the stage for a vote to bar him from ever serving in public office again. Given the chance to hold office in the future, they argued, Trump would not hesitate to encourage political violence again.

Trumps attorneys argued that his words at the rally were protected by his constitutional right to free speech and said he was not given due process in the proceedings.

Romney voted for impeachment on Saturday along with fellow Republicans Richard Burr, Bill Cassidy, Susan Collins, Ben Sasse, Pat Toomey, and Lisa Murkowski.

Donald Trumps lead attorney began his attack on the constitutionality of the former presidents impeachment trial not on legal argument but on a political one, saying moving ahead means impeachment will become the rule, not the rare exception.

The flood gates will open, Bruce Castor told the Senate, noting that two of the nations four presidential impeachments have taken place in the last 13 months.

What Is Donald Trump Claiming In His Defense

Trump has had trouble assembling a legal team. His usual personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, had to recuse himself because he also gave a speech at the event where the former president is accused of fomenting insurrection. Trump then appears to have fallen out with his first legal team, which was led by Butch Bowers.

Now led by lawyers David Schoen and Bruce L Castor, Trumps team have claimed that his speech did not amount to a call to storm the Capitol, he was simply exercising his first amendment rights, and his trial is unconstitutional anyway, because he has left office. Trump will not testify personally.

Schiff: Ignoring Trump Obstruction Hurts Congress Oversight Power

Schiff said that the evidence outlines “in considerable detail” a scheme to further Trump’s interests even well before the State Department recalled Marie Yovanovitch as the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine in May.

Yovanovitch was recalled following claims by supporters of the president that she was undermining Trump’s efforts to put pressure on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden to benefit Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign.

The GOP report said there was no evidence that Trump improperly withheld $391 million in military aid to Ukraine or pressured Zelenskiy.

The Republicans also assert that Trump’s action regarding Ukraine stem from his longstanding concern about “its history of pervasive corruption,” and they argue that there is “nothing wrong” with asking serious questions about the presence of Hunter Biden, Biden’s son, on the board of directors of Burisma, a large Ukrainian gas company.

“The Democrats’ impeachment inquiry is not the organic outgrowth of serious misconduct; it is an orchestrated campaign to upend our political system,” the Republicans wrote. “The Democrats are trying to impeach a duly elected president based on the accusations and assumptions of unelected bureaucrats who disagreed with President Trump’s policy initiatives and processes.”

The report also says Trump did “nothing inherently improper” by involving his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani in Ukraine matters.

Neera Tanden, President Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the White House Office of Management and Budget, faces what could be a contentious;confirmation hearing Tuesday after facing pushback from Republicans;as well as progressives.

Tanden, the former head of the left-leaning Center for American Progress, is expected to be grilled by the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Scott’s phone vibrates. He lets go of the car door and fumbles his phone out of his pocket.

“You can sit shotgun,” he tells Liam and steps back to sit in the back instead. Liam pats his shoulder as he passes him, tired smile around the eyes.

He only half-listens to Mason’s and Liam’s hushed conversation about the newly bitten wolf whose scent they had lost. Instead, he checks Stiles’ message.

‘Fyi some newbie intern nearly killed ur best friend today! Pointed a LOADED gun at me & then tripped over his own feet’

Scott can’t help but smile as his thumbs fly over the keyboard to reply: ‘Aren’t you a newbie intern too?’ He follows it up with, ‘Sounds a lot like you actually, rmbr when your dad wouldnt give you a gun?’

‘Got upgraded to trainee! keep up, scotty!!’

Of course Scott knows that. Doesn’t change the fact that Stiles is very new at the FBI, does it?

“Are you texting Argent?” Mason asks from the front.

Scott watches the little icon symbolizing that Stiles is typing for a moment longer, then switches conversations.

“Yeah,” he says. “Let him know we lost the lead.”

“Thanks to me,” Liam interject, frustration evident in his voice.

Scott looks up. Liam is hunched up in his seat. It’s night and save for the passing streetlights it’s dark out, but Scott can still tell he has his hands balled to fists in his lap.

“Hey.” He leans forward to drop a hand on Liam’ shoulder, squeezing it briefly. “Don’t beat yourself up, okay? I lost the scent, too. We’re not totally sure there’s even a bitten werewolf here in the first place, right? It’s all just rumors and hearsay.”

Scott’s phone vibrates twice in quick succession. He ignores it.

Mason gives them a quick look. “Yeah, and what am I supposed to say? I can’t even smell the stuff you guys can in the first place!”

Liam gently shoves Mason in the arm, earning himself a “Hey, I’m driving, genius!”

“I’m texting Argent to let him know that we lost the scent,” Scott says and sits back again.

Stiles sent him an image and a text. Still, Scott forces himself to finish his text message to Argent before checking what Stiles sent him.

(After that, he waits a few seconds longer, to see if Liam is really all right. His heart is beating steady, his chemo signals are normal, and he’s arguing with Mason about whether they should throw Corey a surprise birthday party or not. Good enough for Scott.)

The picture is of Stiles; he’s wearing a bulletproof vest with the letters FBI on it over his a dark blue outfit and he’s holding a gun, aiming at something to the left of the camera. The safety glasses on his faces do little to hide the look of intense concentration that Scott’s seen a thousand times before. He’s probably at a shooting range, from the looks of his surroundings.

There’s a curious tugging in Scott’s stomach.

Scott has no idea what that has to do with anything but he can’t disagree.

The thing is, Stiles has been – well, Scott would almost say, flirting with Scott for a while now. It’s less crude and overt than when he did it as a joke when they were just kids. More like actual, real, adult flirting, and less like a silly joke. After everything that came with the bite, Stiles had stopped for a while, slowly phasing out the jokes about making out. Scott honestly hadn’t even noticed until Stiles had started up again a couple of weeks ago, mostly over text and on the phone now, since they rarely see each other.

Maybe it’s just Stiles’ way of saying he misses him.

Except, Stiles has no problem outright admitting to missing Scott, (and neither has Scott, for that matter, since he misses Stiles a lot, all the time).

So Scott has no idea what this thing is. All he knows is he always tended to completely ignore those kind of jokes when they were younger and now he wants to reciprocate.

Push the boundaries. Just a little.

‘Didnt know an attractive face was required for being a good shot’, he texts back, lacking anything more clever to say.

They enter Beacon Hills. As Mason stops at a red light, he turns around, trying not to get twisted up in his seatbelt, and takes one, two, three selfies with Liam and Mason in the background, their looks changing from surprised to silly faces with each picture.

“What’re you doing?” Liam wants to know.

Scott shrugs. “Letting Stiles know what we’re up to.”

He picks the second picture to send. Mason’s and Liam’s faces are funnier in the third one – Liam is actually sticking his tongue out and it’s adorable – but well. Scott looks better in the second one, he thinks. He can’t help that he looks tired and sweaty but his smile is less goofy and more attractive. He hopes.

‘Liam&mason say hi!! :D’

Stiles replies immediately with a bunch of shocked emojis. ‘Didnt know u were w/ them! How’s our firstborn doing? Where were u? I dont see any blood’, he adds and then a thumbs up emoji.

Scott is typing a reply, when another message comes through: ‘U rly spending ur weekend at home chasing wolves buddy?’

At that, Scott almost laughs because yeah, of course he does. So does Stiles whenever he gets a chance to be home. Scott regularly has to talk him out of going werewolf chasing (in the nice way) in Virginia, and he’s not always successful.

When another message with more question comes through, Scott just sends, ‘Hold on’.

Mason stops in front of Scott’s house just a minute or two later, Scott’s phone still buzzing in his lap.

“You gonna be okay to get home?” Scott asks, even though they have a car and nothing really happened tonight. He can’t help but worry. Malia likes to blame his mother hen instincts on him being an alpha, but privately Scott thinks that it’s all him.

“Yeah, dude,” Liam replies. “We gonna see you before you leave town?”

“Yeah, I’ll swing by.” Scott gives them each a clap on the shoulder before exiting the car. He barely has one foot on the pavement before his phone starts ringing.

“I was gonna call you in literally ten seconds,” he says as a greeting, letting the car door fall closed behind him and watching Mason and Liam drive off.

“But you haven’t. And you weren’t answering. Could’ve been eaten by a monster by now,” Stiles says, voice going a hundred miles an hour as always.

“I’m not. Still alive and kicking.” Scott knows Stiles can hear him smiling, but it doesn’t matter.

“You ever gonna tell me what you guys were up to or am I gonna have to drive over there and drag it out of you?”

“Dunno,” Scott says. He’s fumbling for the right key for the door, trying to keep his voice down now in case his mum’s already gone to bed. “If me not telling you results in you coming here, then I’m not gonna say a word.”

Stiles is quiet for a long moment. He sounds unusually fond when he demands, “Spit it out, boy wonder.”

So Scott tells him about the rumor of the newly bitten wolf without a pack three towns over, and how it was supposedly a young girl. That they’d gone looking for her, but lost her scent, or maybe never even had it, they’re not sure.

He’s still explaining as he walks by his mom on the couch where she’s watching one of her shows. He stops talking to drops a kiss on her hair.

“Who’s that?” she mouths up at him.

“Stiles.”

“Tell your mom hi from me!” Stiles demands in a loud voice as if he expects it to carry from the tinny phone speaker all the way to Scott’s mom on the couch. Scott winces.

“He yells hi,” he dutifully relays.

His mom smiles. “Hello to you too, Stiles. Tell me how he’s doing tomorrow, hm?” She’s already nestling back down into her blanket so Scott just nods and takes the stairs up to his room two at a time.

“So basically a whole lotta nothing,” Stiles finally sums up when Scott finishes explaining.

Scott laughs. “Pretty much, yeah. I texted Argent cause he was the one who told us about the rumor. If she pops back up again and I’m back at UC, Liam’ll have to go after her. Or I’ll come back down, we’ll see.”

“Think he can handle it?”

“Yeah,” Scott says. “I think he can. Better than he thinks he can, actually.”

Stiles laughs. “That’s cause you always have faith in everyone.”

“I’m just not as paranoid you,” Scott teases back, making sure his voice is soft so Stiles won’t misunderstand. That’s not entirely right anyway, he thinks. Stiles had faith in Scott, always and all along.

“That’s why we’re the dream team, Scotty.”

“Yeah.” Scott kicks up his feet against the wall, lets them slide down back onto the bed slowly. “Miss ya, buddy.”

Stiles exhales loudly and there’s a rustling sound. It sounds like he’s shifting around on his bed.

“Miss you too. So weird not to see your face every day, honestly. Earlier, I was staring at that pic you sent like some kind of serial killer scooting out his next victim.”

Scott snorts. He knows the feeling; though he feels more lovesick than serial killer-like. He’d known that Stiles leaving would be hard on him, but he hadn’t expect it to be like this. Hadn’t seen it coming that Stiles’ voice in his ear would be enough to make his heart beat in a quicker rhythm.

“You coming home for Christmas, right?” Scott asks.

“'Course I will.” Stiles pauses. “You’re gonna need a crowbar to get me off you.” There’s something in his voice – embarrassment, maybe. Hesitation.

“Nah, I’ll like it. I’ll superglue you to me and then no one can demand we be separated for the whole week. Like that time in second grade, you remember that?”

Back then, Stiles had spilled glue on their shirts, causing them to stick together within seconds. This time, Scott thinks, he’d glue their hands together instead.

Stiles laughs quietly. “That was totally on accident!”

“Well,” Scott says slowly. “It won’t be this time.”

He hears Stiles shift again. Suddenly, Stiles smacks his lips, making a loud, obnoxious kissing sound into the speaker. “Alright, Scotty boy, it’s a plan.”

Scott shakes his head and smiles.

You land at the airport and couldnt believe you are back in your home town. The one place you wanted to get away from and stay far from it as possible. After finishing school, getting yourself a good job and made something of yourself. Your parents didnt like the idea of you moving away but understood because you wanted to go to school and better your education. Now you are back in Charming.

You got out your phone to call for a cab and head down to the garage and surprise everyone on your return home. You went outside with your luggage to wait for your cab, you looked around and noticed a police cruiser parked out side. You immediately thought about the old man Wayne Unser. For some reason your thoughts are brought on someone else, the one you left behind and feeling heart broken about it.

“Are you y/n?” The cab asks to pull you away from your thoughts

“Yeah, sorry” You reply while the cab driver gets your stuff in the trunk of the cab and you get in.

“Where to?” He asks before turning on the meter and driving away

“Teller Morrow Automotive” You reply while looking out the window

“Alright” The cab driver says and begins to pull out of the airports parking lot.

You sit in the back seat, looking at the town while driving down the main street and remembering the places you hung out while growing up. Saw the old ice cream shop where you had your first date, even though your dad didnt approve of and your brother was being a jerk towards the boy. Well he isnt a boy anymore.

“Alright, we are here” The cab driver says once more pulling you away from your thoughts.

“Right, thanks. Here is what I owe you” You tell him as you pay for the fare and get out of the cab.

The bikes are perfectly lined knowing everyone is inside the club house. You grab your luggage and walk towards the office where your mom will be busy at work. Everyone inside the garage are busy at work trying to get the cars ready for the customer to pick up.

You walk up to the door and knock to see if your mom will look away from her paper work.

“Name and problem” She says without looking up

“Can a girl get some decent service around here?” You reply while looking to your mom

“Well if you would” She cuts herself off from saying anything else while she finally looks away from her massive paper work.

“My baby is home” She says and gets up from her chair to give you a hug

“When did you get here? How did you get here? Did you take a cab? Why didnt you call that you are coming home? Why didnt you call all together?” She asks very rapidly while you try to stop her from talking and finally answer her.

“It wouldnt be a surprise if I called for pick up or even called that I was coming home now would it?” You say while place your bags in her office.

“You know I hate surprises. I missed you so much” You says and gives you one more hug

“Go into the club house and surprise the shit out of everyone. I will meet you inside in a little bit, I need to get some paper work done” She says as she leads out the door and gives you a little pat.

As you are walking is when the noises get louder and louder. You knew that they were celebrating something, once you got into the bar area is when every single one of them stopped to look at you. Neither of them recognized who you were and the two people you wanted to see the most are not in sight.

“Hi uncle Tig, Bobby, Piney. Wow more like grandpa Piney” You correct yourself and finally it hits them.

“Holy shit y/n?” Bobby asks as he walk towards you.

You nod your head as you smile. He lifts you to spin you around while excitement rushes through him.

“Last time I did that you were as tall as my finger and that was a lot easier to twirl you then” Bobby says as he sets you back on the ground

“Last time I saw you, you were way smaller then and you are hell of a lot more stronger now. Well sort of” You tease while he nudges you.

“You grew up beautifully, just like your mom” Tig says as he pulls you in for a hug

“Thanks uncle Tiggy. Now where is my brother that I love to claim on certain days and my dad?” You ask while Tig still as you tucked under his arm looking around the club house.

“Its really good to see you baby girl” Piney says as he comes to give you a hug

“Y/n I dont know if you remember Happy, Chibs, Kozik. This is Juice and Opie is some where here” Tig says while introducing you to the others but you remembered Chibs.

You have always remembered Chibs, you never forgot about him and you always thought about his perfectly deep voice along with the accent you have come to love all these years.

“Aye, your da is in church wit Jackie and should be out soon” He says with his Scottish accent

You give him a small smile as you nod and loving the way his voice sounds like along with his accent.

“Kozik, isnt that the guy you said was an asshole and if you ever saw him again you would skin him alive while he watches you fillet him like a fish with your machete?” You ask while looking to Tig.

Kozik throws his arms in the air and walks out the door. The others roll their eyes as they sit at the bar and you join them for an afternoon drink. They ask questions about your school, how life is and how your job has been since you started. Finally the doors swing open.

You sat next to Chibs and waited for your dad and brother to come out. You looked around the bar and how much the place hasnt changed one bit. When the doors opened, you turned around slowly as the room got quiet real fast. Your dad stopped in his foot steps while Jax looked twice in hopes he wasnt imagining what he saw.

“Hi dad. Jackson” You say as you got up from the bar stool

Thats when your mom Gemma walks into the club house with a wide smile on her face. Your dad Clay looks to his wife to get reassurance it was you. She nods her head.

“Missed you doll face. Are you home for good?” Jax asks as he pulls you into his arms and twirls you around and never wanting to let go.

“I missed you to big brother. I dont know yet, for now on holidays from my job and see how the rest of the visit goes” You tell him still in his arms

As you let go of Jax and pull away from him. You look to your dad who has tears in his eyes because his little girl is finally home.

Dearest Pat, I finally understood why you're doing what you're doing. I felt abandoned, not cared about, and sometimes that you hated me. I was so confused. I thought, I mean I truly thought you wouldnt after you blocked me on everything..my emotions during that period would go from "wait seriously?" To "are you fucking kidding me?" To "why did you leave me?" To "what the fuck made you hate me?" To "I deserve better." I didnt want to come back to California. Truly. I remember having to down an entire mojito, a shot of tequila, and two drinks you showed me Tito's and seltzer on the plane. I was to pick up my kittens, they were staying at your moms since you were the only other person who I knew in this area to take care of them. But you were so angry. It was so hard.. the man I fell in love with, the man I wanted to marry.. well I had faith in that man.. he was my favorite human. I admired everything you did. Your disciplined life style always inspired me. Your cleanliness. Your routine. Your selflessness. Your attentiveness. then i got 2 walk around for 2 hrs.... i rly just kind of circled the dealer’s room n sometimes the con floor n i visited the idol table but only rly found one shinou keychain i wanted so.. oh1 a tsumiki i emt turned out 2 b the mei i befriended like 2 years ago at the con tho! n i was like “aaa it’s nice 2 see u again!” n they had the junkrat too (the junkrat wasnt junkrat tho, i just mean it was the same guy as the junkrat i befriended back then w the mei) HOWEVER at an itabag booth, i thought the person running it w pink hair looked like tori n i was like “oh my god r u cosplaying tori?” n they went “yea! n this is my Eichi!” n pointed 2 their fellow booth runner n i was so excited n asked 4 their pic n the eichi had 2 put on their jacket (they were the dance gcha versions) n i was like “oh my gosh dude i luv ES i was actually gonna go as tsukasa today we coulda been the rich kid trio omg” n i showed them my ES buttons/straps then left n a while after, i met a komaeda n took their pic n we talked abt despair n DR n joked around n hs was brought up n he apparently has a jake engl!sh cosplay at home n we were just joking around for a while abt DR n hs n h!veswap n stuff until i parted ways 2 go back 2 the dealer’s room. before that in the dealer’s room, i met a homare n after my pic i said “uhm.. prec/ure, thank you for saving everyone!!”  n found that kind of cute. a junko also took selfies w me aa.

i also met an aoba n took their pic n told them abt the official english localization coming soon n they were stoked bc they didnt kno abt it b4 n they told me there was a noiz at the con too so i was like “!!” n i eventually found them n apparently they were semi-new to the dm/md fandom? they said they were Late but i told them abt the localization too. while i was talking to the noiz, some lady at a nearby artist booth was like “are those ur real nails? omg can i take a pic” so i let her photograph my hands n we talked abt nails n how she usually kept hers long but has to cut em shorter for cons bc they break at cons due to the lifting she has to do n stuff.

the LL panel!! we mostly asked the 3 ooc questions abt idols n stuff after they did their trivia and dances. speaking of trivia, i won a d!sney villain lanyard, makkach!n sticky notes, n p0kem0n socks bc i answered like. 4-5 questions right haha some of the questions were rly easy tho sooo

then i walked around More. i explained to a group that i was giving out lollipops bc mikan’s a nurse n lollipops r like a doctor n the yukine went “i kno ur source ur no-!” n i went “i kind of am! but ur right, maybe im kind of like junko;’s mistress...” i saw a pregame saihara, kaede, n maki n when i gave them shots 4 their lollipops, i said “saihara, maybe thisll cure ur depression!” on impulse but jtggth. I ALSO MET A REI COSPLAYER n i was like “aaaa i luv ES hewwo... reiPs united” n they were like “im actually not a reiP, but ppkt hink since i cosplay him that im one haha. im a ritsuP but i cosplay rei bc who loves ritsu the most? rei!” n we talked abt events n how u have 2 try rly hard n they said that ppl think the next gacha or event will b leo n i was like “the knightsP are already Here...” n i said that if happyele brought out chiaki i’d die but b Ready n then we started talking abt how chiaki is so effing GOOD n ryuse!ta! being Good Boys n they were like “i wouldnt cosplay ryuse!ta! but chiaki, maybe... yknow, i actualy dont like subaru that much bc hes rude/cold to chiaki tbh.” n i was like “also arashi” n they went “...dont like him.” n then “how/why could/would anyone reject chiaki’s hugs?? they say he’s sweaty but like, ill hug tou so much dude” n i was like “YEA id hug him a thousand times over” n i was like “yknow how he pats anzu’s head n says good girl i wish that were me.. but hes so Good” n they were like “he obviously drops hints at anzu, saying things like ‘haha well this could/would happen If You were My Girffriend...’” n i was like “YEA the boy isnt Subtle.. he’d b like ‘wow i wish i could have a gf that could make me a bento.. wink.wink. oh, anzu u can cook? [scoots closer] hm. that’s-” they had 2 leave after a minute but ANYWAY they said they were gonna b kanzaki on saturday n im READY

THEN the whose line panel! it was RLY funny but writing all the details would take FOREVER okay.. im not that dedicated. maybe another time, kay? anyway, i saw a farz n a vincent n took their pic n went “oh, did yall see/kno there was a lawrence here earlier?” n the vincent pointed to farz n said “that was them” n they said “that was me haha...” n i went “...oh my GOD im so effing stupid i cant remember faces well im so sorry” but anyway the panel was funny n for the prompt “things u say abt ur cosply but not ur s/o”, i went up n i said “i could prob buy this for cheap...” then for “cheesy promomercials for anime characters” i said “welcome to kyu/bey’s magcal girls! u can become a magical girl w a low price. our prices r so low, but dont lose ur Head over em!” 

anyway i didnt kno the panel was 2 hours but i left a lil after halfway thru to go to the fr33! anel n they did trivia (i didnt get any of the questions.. i got CLOSE on a question tho. they said, “in 50 off who was nagisas boss” n i said “master dave” but it was “easter dave” so the other person got the prize (it was a poster or a button, idk) n i chose the number 5 for the dare n had it w rei, n rei had to propose to a random audience member n they nervously proposed to a hanayo n it was funny hehe. i also asked truth/dare 6 w nagisa n it was “whats ur dream/dream job” n he said an astronaut who’s also a penguin farmer pff anyway it was fun!! i also asked what if they were to b idols n i think rei said hed b the costume designer? i also asked if they could rap freestyle n they said “we’ll take a hard pass on that one haha”n i was like “hehe its fine i was Joking”

then i kind of loitered around blasting hypm!c songs then st down until i had 2 go hooome!! TIME 2 GO 2 BED

What happened was this. I met a boy who quickly became my best friend and we hung out everyday. I thought me him and caitlin were it. We would be best friends forever. I was so happy. Then they had it out when i was back home from my mom dying. I came back a few days after it happened to take my finals. He asked me over the night i got back to talk about it and see me. We talked all night and so i just slept there. He told me he wouldnt try anything. Only when i woke up, he was. And i was very confused but okay with it because i had liked him a long time but didnt want to do anything about it. He was in love wuth caitlin like i wanted. I didnt think hed do anything with me just after my mom died. I thought it was a one time thing. It turned into a thing, and i fell for him. I loved him. He was there for me, when Hunter wouldnt even talk to me after she died and he promised me he would be there for me because i knew she was going to die eventually. So this guy was the only one actually there for me. He told me he didnt feel the same way. I just didnt believe him because we were basically dating. After a few months i felt like i needed to back off and that it wasnt really helping me, that i wanted to be with someone who felt the same for me. Only when i went over there, i told him still i didnt want to do anything, but he still tried anyways. I got fed up and got my things and opened the door and said i was leaving. He promised me he wouldnt do anything. And i believed him because i trusted him wholeheartedly. We went back to watching the movie when he just went for it and did it and i kept saying no, until i just gave up. Eventually i was into it enough that i asked for sex. But i just hated myself afterwards because i just betrayed myself. He thought it was okay because i eventually said i wanted it. When i confronted him about it he told me i shouldnt have gone over there when i knew he was high. So i just felt like it was my fault and i stupidly went back to sleeping with him sometimes. When summer came around i told him i was done, and i meant it. I didnt send him anything flirty or anything the whole time. But of course stupid me was still addicted. When we got back to school there were two times at night i got weak and would ask him over. Didnt happen but still shouldnt have said anything. Then came the day that i was desperate for homework help. He said he wanted sex out of it and i said fuck no like youre my friend you should just want to help me. He said he was too busy to help me. I was desperate so i told him id have sex with him that weekend. He tried for then but i said that wasnt happening. I figured i could get out of having to do it by just not doing it then and telling him no on the weekend. Well he wouldnt take no for an answer, i said no at least 50 times until he finally looked at me and said get on the bed. And in that moment i just froze and thought if i didnt do it it was going to happen anyway. Maybe i could save my pride by just pretending like it didnt happen afterwards. Only i couldnt forget it. I cant explain how i felt, only that i just couldnt handle being in my own skin. I was losing it. Caitlin was so concerned she ended up bringing the police to my room because she felt like i needed to report it even though i told her i didnt want to because there was no proof, it wasnt straightforward, it would do nothing because force wasnt used. They ended up convincing me to talk by telling me that nothing would happen unless i wanted it to. So i went to the station with caitlin and pat. They told me all this bullshit about how no means no and i was raped and it was real. The next few days were filled with being driven around by the advocate and getting the school to put a no contact order in which they had to majorly convince me of because i was terrified if he knew i was upset about what happened that he would retaliate. I ended up just being so out of it that i said they could investigate because they told me that if there was no case that nothing would come of it and itd just disappear. Only they were manipulating me. Because i found myself in an interrogation room. They told me we were just going in there this time and it meant nothing, and she was just recording it for her own recollection. I was then torn to shreds in their attempt to get me to say i made it up. Because he had cooperated so well and everything and there was no evidence, just he said she said. I said i TOLD you from the beginning thats exactly how it would be. And then all the work they had done building me up telling me it was real was stripped away with each question trying to get me to tell them it wasnt true. She said she had to decide whether to charge me with false reporting. I eventually was hysterical. I couldnt breath. My dad warned me if they dont have a case thats what they do. Then They made me stay in there and talk to them because she knew she had gotten me to a point that i felt the worst about myself that i could possibly feel, that it was all my fault. I spilled everything about my mom dying and how if she wouldnt have died and i wouldnt have trusted him this wouldnt have happened, and i eventually managed to stop crying. Only i wasnt okay. I went home and tried to kill myself. I was so messed up i thought there was no way i could go around campus with everyone knowing what happened and that everything was my fault and i couldnt live with it. But i was so scared when the blood was everywhere i tried to stop it. Even though i thought i had probably actually gone too far that time. So i just tried to go to sleep. Only to find the bleeding did stop. And i called my dad and told him i was switching schools and i was freaking out. He talked to me and helped reset myself from all the havoc they caused on me. I was thankful i hadnt been successful. But i was so angry they were allowed to destroy me like that. What they did was worse than what he did. And i am so ashamed of all of it. My worst moments i have experienced are on a tape in that station. That woman still sleeps fine at night even though she tore apart a victim. And i still live with knowing i am an idiot. All the signs were there for me to know to stay away from him. But yet i trusted him with everything. And thats why i cant trust me. Or anyone. Because i thought he was it. That hed always be there. But yet when i think about it, i still know i made way too many mistakes. And i cant stand myself for it. Im a lot better now. But i cant love anyone. Im not capable. The two worst things happened one after another, and im a completely different person. I cant feel everything because i still cant deal with what happened. But im getting there now. Austins really helped me. And now this new boy is making me feel head over heels... and im so terrified. I dont trust anything, so how can i let myself feel this way? I dont know what im going to do. But right now im doing a good job of shoving it away if im not in front of him for a few hours... well see....
