I wanna know about them all, but The Unmaking!
So The Unmaking is a project that I did for NaNoWriMo 2021 and is currently languishing in my Google Drive incomplete at 112,000 words of a rough draft because I committed to revising a different book rather than endlessly drafting new stuff (though I do intend to finish it someday). Anyway! It's an adult epic fantasy novel about a young woman in a kingdom torn apart by a very ugly decades-long civil war between various claimants to the throne, and who makes her living as a healer for one of the armies. She falls in love with an enemy soldier who has the ability to kill people by touching them (narrative foils…I do like them), and the two of them decide that, actually, maybe the divine right of kings sucks and they should try to fix this country themselves rather than relying on arrogant and terrible royalty to do it for them. Except oops, her boyfriend's idea of fixing this country involves a lot more violence and making his own claim to the throne than she was expecting! It's inspired by a lot of ideas I wanted to explore in fantasy: what the reality of having a villain boyfriend would actually be like, how much it would suck to be a regular person in a big fantasy civil war, and also that maybe the One True Heir isn't actually the solution to all of your problems.
As for a snippet, here's a scene of the main character defying one of the aforementioned terrible royals:

You know, I was thinking about it...and while I like the idea of Jiang Yuelou and Chen Yuzhi meeting and Chen Yuzhi thinking that Jiang Yuelou is a hero at first...I’m also toying with the idea of Chen Yuzhi and Jiang Yuelou being true enemies to lovers soulmates.  Like, they’re fighting one another and during the fight, one of them touches the other (as I’m considering making them like magic users or people who don’t have to do like...hand to hand combat) and they both get like the “soulmate shock” as I like to call it.  And they just look at each other like “are you fucking kidding me?!”  And neither of them are very happy about it
And then I’m thinking to make it so where, since they’re heroes and villains, if one gets hurt, the other can feel it.  It would be great to have that play out.  (Villain or hero showing up at the other’s door because they got injured and need them to patch them up anyone?  I think so)
Honestly kind of leaning towards this version more because I can get a lot more whump and angst out of this version.  Not saying that I can’t with the other, but the other version feels very Megamind to me and while that’s not a bad thing...that’s not what I’m going for either.  I think true enemies to lovers soulmate with added “anytime the other person gets hurt, their soulmate can feel it” would make for a much more interesting story.  So I think this is the version we’re going with

the fact that basically all the main girls in naruto are medic nin and literally none of the boys are sucks, but it's so frustrating with ino because it actually makes no sense for her to be the one on her team with medical ninjustsu. like, first off, the nara clan literally make medicine. why would shikamaru not be the obvious choice from that alone? but even outside of that, tactically it makes no sense. ino's abilities often leave her temporarily incapacitated when it's super important for medic nin to be mobile. both her and shikamaru are mid-range fighters so it has nothing to do keeping the medic away from harm. on top of that, she literally already has a job within the team as a sensor nin, so she's already spreading her abilities thin by have 2 specialties that don't synthesize well!!! and arguably her ability to use sensing in battle is more useful, but she can't sense and heal at the same time. and shikamaru can strategize and heal at the same time so... maybe one of her teammates should do some work for once, i'm just saying! she's literally a medic nin because she's a girl and for no other reason, which is why by the end of the series, she's almost never uses those abilities because it never made sense for her to have them in the first place! ugh!

please tell us about your work in progress? 😍😍😍 (is this the doe story or something else? 👀👀👀) - newbornwhumperfly
Okay! Rubbing my hands together like a scheming villain right now :D
It's not the Doe story aka Abandoned and Rescued because... I'll get to it at some point. At some point. Maybe with a new name because A&R is not cutting it for me right now haha.
But this one has a pretty similar start to A&R which is Outcast Whumpee gets kidnapped and team assumes they betrayed the team. Then the team also ended up captured, and instead of finding out that they were wrong about Whumpee, they ended up blaming Whumpee for their capture too. It's essentially a case of "the team was so bad to Whumpee that even the villain feels bad". So both the Villain and the Team Leader actually have a bigger role in the first half of the story :D
This story is definitely focused a lot more on the aftermath and the recovery path, and I'm trying to explore all the ups and downs of Whumpee leaving the team and the Villain and reconciling between them healing and the self-sacrificial tendencies they were taught as a kid. It's about striking that balance between needing support and community to heal, and the personal decision to let themself be helped.
Also it's self-healing Whumpee so it's very fun to them up :D
I have ... 0 name for anything in this story haha.
Also feel free to ask more about this story :D

This upcoming week's preorders for warhammer are the funniest combination they could think of.
For Kill Team, 40k's small scale game where you play as a single squad of dudes, you have the Chaos Space Marine Night Lords vs Druhkari Mandrakes.
To quickly sum that up, you have a terror troop that makes the "normal" space hell-infused supersoldier barbarians look nice. These are the people that skin their victims, broadcast screams to their friends, and generally are the most edgy of the edgy faction in general. You can see them below with all sorts of skin hanging off them, swords made of bone, and a whole ass banner made of a partial dead supersoldier.
Tumblr media
Opposing them are the shadow demons of the torture elf faction. These are the guys that lurk in the shadows of Edgy Shadow Murder Elf City that scare even the people who live there. They also skin people and wear them as their clothes too. And they wield edgy dark magics that they throw to burn people alive (and possibly their souls as well).
Tumblr media
Then you have the War Cry box, the Age of Sigmar Fantasy skirmish game which has Lumineth vs Nighthaunt.
The Nighthaunt are cursed spirits that the god of the dead personally has constructed ironic punishments for. These ones in particular are eternally burning ghosts that used to be healers, alchemists, and priests who attempted to use sacred fires or potions to burn away death or purify areas of the undead who now spend their afterlives aflame or having to keep the awful flames of Nagash's realm alight upon pain of worse fates.
Tumblr media
So that leaves us with the elves who are the exception right? Well they're nicer than the above, being monk/druid/paladins who are trying to save the realms. However, anyone familiar with Lumineth or with the trope of "too good makes an evil paladin" kind of tropes, you can figure out that they're not always the good guys in the stories. Still they're mostly good, but let's hope they don't run out of villains to fight
Tumblr media
They're also dropping the dark fantasy human hunters alongside the eternally starving ogres who are mutating teeth and tusks out of their body (they previously were for sale together but they're now splitting the box).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So these opposed and themed boxes are dropping soon alongside... gnomes.
Tumblr media
The whiplash between these products feels like being hit with a truck

Pairing: Azriel x Hybern!Princess!OC
Summary: Nimue was a gift for the King of Hybern. His shining jewel, the perfect heir. However, she is clear about who the villain of the story is. When she saves her father's enemies from a tragic end, she realizes that now it's the Cauldron who has a gift for her: a mate.
Warnings: heavy injures, description of injuries, blood, violence, weapons, bad language, english not being my first language
Tumblr media
They look at each other, adrenaline boiling and screaming in everyone's veins. Nimue doesn't take her eyes off Rhysand, but she feels everyone looking at her.
She feels naked, unprotected.
She blinks to get used to all that light. She had never seen so much light and it's beautiful.
Her senses come to life as she lets go of Rhysand's hand, which she had unknowingly been clinging to. She breathes over and over, trying to calm herself, but involuntarily she begins to tremble.
What has she done, what has she done, what has she done.
Father is going to kill her.
Amidst her frenzy of thoughts, Rhysand starts barking orders. She doesn't hear them well, only scattered words: healer, help, house.
Nimue glimpses a huge house to her right, and realizes she has brought them all to the courtyard of a mansion. Around her, everyone seems to spring into action.
The blonde female runs into the house, and seconds later comes out accompanied by another woman, shorter and slighter. She can't tell if she's fae or a creature. When Nimue and her lock eyes, it's like they're looking in a mirror. Both frown but decide to ignore each other.
For Nimue, it's as if everything is happening in slow motion: when she wants to realize, there's another person there, attending to the two injured Ilyrian. A glow emanates from her hands, its warmth reaching the princess's face. A healer, she supposes. She had never seen one.
She fights against her own panic, trying to get used to all the hustle and bustle and all those sounds. The birds flying above her head, the sunlight, the smell of the sea, the smell of pine and cedar, the voices around her, the poor Ilyrian screaming in pain...
She lowers her gaze, and without thinking, she starts speaking: "I can help."
Everyone looks at her again, judging her. They scan her from head to toe.
The two females who were thrown into the Cauldron are to her left, crying and hugging the one who was with Rhysand. Are they sisters? They looked so much alike...
"I can help," she repeats, this time firmer. She starts walking and sees how Rhysand prepares to attack her, "I can heal both of them, if you let me."
She analyzes the High Lord's face, and sees how little by little he is giving in. No one articulates any words, with a simple nod of the male's head, he grants her permission. He has nothing more to lose.
She kneels beside the one with the shattered wings and begins to do what she does with herself and the wounds she has ever suffered: with her magic, she grasps every little nerve ending, every small piece of skin. She pulls them and threads them, weaves them, joins them and separates them as if making a tapestry. So little by little, she shapes the wings of that Ilyrian. It's all pure instinct, what her nature dictates to her.
Father always told her she was his Goddess of Destruction, but Nimue knew deep down that she was capable of fixing, of healing, of bringin good to the world.
Under everyone's watchful eyes, she was piece by piece, shred by shred, joining and repairing the broken wings of that male. When she reached the bones, she simply imagined how they should have originally been: she ordered them to return to their form, to be soldered, and they obediently complied.
With a final grunt from the male, Nimue finished her work. But before she could get up, he grabbed her arm:
"Thank you," he whispered. Nimue is stunned. Thank you?
Had anyone ever thanked her for anything? Had anyone shown her gratitude?
No, her real doubt wasn't that. Had she ever done anything worthy of others' gratitude?
She swallowed her fear and terror, kneeling on the ground. She watched as the male limped away from her and enveloped the blonde female in a hug, how he squeezed her tightly as they both cried on each other's shoulders.
She was so, so lost. Where was she? What was happening around her?
"What a miracle of a girl," the healer whispered. Standing between Rhysand and the slighter female, the more aged-looking woman never took her eyes off her, "You are a Cauldron's blessing. When you're done, I'll need you to teach me how you do that. You are a–"
"Silence, Madja," Rhysand's voice resonates under her feet and in the very mountain, as if he had spoken those words inside Nimue's skull. She shrinks, intimidated. That's the power of a High Lord, "Now him. Heal him.”
She looks away from Rhysand and sets her gaze on the last remaining male.
Kneeling on the ground beneath him is a pool of his own blood and something that seems to be shadows, moving frenetically back and forth. She had never seen anything like it, those... beings, moving around the man. Nimue hears faint noises that she can't quite understand.
Behind her, she feels a presence moving. Rhysand looks down at her, those violet eyes so deep that Nimue feels hypnotized, "Don't just stand there gaping and do what you did to Cassian. Now. Or I'll cut off your head, you filthy Hybern rat."
She nods, and when she turns back to the winged male, he looks back at her. His amber eyes follow every small movement she makes: from the slight tremble of her lower lip to the way she raises her hand.
When he tries to speak, a trickle of blood runs down his lip to his chin, "Touch me and I'll cut off your hands, traitor."
Nimue trembles.
What the hell is she doing? Where has she gotten herself into?
Before she knows it, two streaks of water run down her cheeks. Is she crying? She had never cried before, what a strange sensation.
Her gaze travels to the hands of the male in front of her. He grips a beautiful black dagger, its tip directly aimed at Nimue's chest.
She swallows hard and, in a quick motion, grabs the arrow he has lodged in his chest and pulls it out with all her strength. She has been so fast that the male collapses forward, falling on top of her.
Rhysand and the healer, Madja, take care of getting him off her, and when Nimue tries to touch him again, the High Lord growls at her, "I told you to heal him, not to open up the damn hole in his chest further."
By pure instinct, Nimue snarls back at him, "I am healing him, you idiot. Back off."
Where she found the courage, she doesn't know. But they obey her, and she gets back to work.
The male is lying on his back on the ground, and Nimue places her hand on his chest, where the arrow was previously lodged. She begins to weave again, slowly, thread by thread.
Her gaze rests on his face, which, with closed eyes, lets out the occasional groan between his teeth.
Azriel feels like his chest is on fire. He feels the edges of the wound burning, he feels combustion from within. He takes gulps of air as he struggles not to lose consciousness, and blinded by the pain, he reaches his hand into the air and grabs onto the first thing he finds.
Nimue startles when his hand grabs her elbow, but she lets it be, the touch of his glove is a new, pleasant, and different sensation. She looks back at his face, and in a low voice, she speaks to him, "I'm almost done. Just making sure there's no trace of the poison that the arrow was coated with."
Azriel lets out a growl. He couldn't care less about the explanations. He just wants it to be over already.
The pain reaches the core of his bones and he opens his eyes abruptly, looking at the girl in front of him.
What is that?
Around her, he sees a thread, a small golden rope encircling her: it descends down her shoulders and arms, caresses her wrists and fingers, and wherever her skin meets his, he sees how the thread enters his own body.
Is he hallucinating?
Hasn't he had enough with the arrow between his ribs, that now the poison is making him hallucinate?
Behind the girl, he sees Rhysand, Amren, Cassian, Mor, even damn Madja. He sees how in slow motion their brows furrow, he sees how they lean forward, looking puzzled at something that makes Azriel scared.
"What's going on?" he asks agitated. He tries to sit up on his elbows, but although the pain has already diminished, it still doesn't let him breathe properly, "What are you all looking at like that?"
Nimue furrows her brows as she pushes the man back to the ground so he stays still. She frowns, as she begins to feel something on her fingertips...
Something is not right.
The sensation travels up her forearm and shoulder, and settles in her chest. There inside, like a caged bird, that sensation starts tumbling, back and forth, faster and faster.
She removes her hand from the man's chest and he sits up in front of her, like a spring.
Azriel feels like he's going to explode. What has that witch put inside him? What kind of magic has she used on him?
"What the hell have you done to me?" he shouts. Azriel brings a hand to his chest when that pressure keeps growing.
Nimue mimics him, feeling like her chest is going to burst.
What has she done? Has she made a mistake? Perhaps her magic has betrayed her now for the first time...
She's hyperventilating, and when she feels that, indeed, she's going to explode like a firework, she looks into the eyes of the male in front of her.
And then everything suddenly calms down.
They stare at each other, stunned, not knowing what to say. Their breaths come together, equally fast and choppy.
And when their bodies stop vibrating and calm down, she feels it there.
There's something, something pulling her towards...
Towards him.
Azriel jumps to his feet, as if they hadn't just removed a poisoned arrow from his chest or he hadn't just lost liters and liters of blood. He finds Truth Teller in its usual place and with a practiced motion after years and years of battles, he grabs the girl by the collar of her clothes and lifts her up like a feather. The dagger rests comfortably against her neck, and she does nothing but look back at him, wide-eyed.
"Azriel!" Rhysand shouts. He ignores his High Lord, although every fiber of his being tells him to obey him, "Azriel, let her go!"
Then, Nimue comes to her senses. With a practiced movement, the winged male is kneeling on the ground again. The pretty black dagger is now in her hand, while with the other she pulls back his hair.
Azriel doesn't know when all this happened. He just knows that he blinked and now he's the prey. He clings to the girl's hand pulling his hair and tries to break free, but he can't understand how such a small woman can have the strength of a thousand men.
"Now I'm going to let go of you and you're not going to attack me. Understood?" She utters each word slowly, as if speaking in another language.
Nimue takes a step back, releasing the dagger, which falls to the ground with a dull thud.
Azriel stands up, and in a leap, he's next to Rhysand in an attack position.
Before Nimue, everyone present is on high alert. Some in attack position, others simply ready for whatever may happen.
The first to speak is Azriel, with the same accusatory tone as before, "What have you done to me? Undo it." He's trembling, and Nimue can't tell if it's from fear or from the pure rage she sees in his face.
Even if she wanted to, she couldn't undo it, because she herself doesn't know what has happened.
What is that pulling her? What is that feeling in her chest, an anchor dragging her toward that winged male?
Everyone remains silent, looking at each other.
However, it's Rhysand who speaks first, the voice of reason in a desperate situation, "Let's all calm down."
Because he doesn't know if he's the only one who sees it, who feels it. That sudden change in the air. It smells like cedar and mist, like Azriel. But if he pays attention, he smells the sea salt and the sweetness of poison in the air. The scent that the girl in front of them emits. It's intoxicating and chilling at the same time. He couldn't say.
What he can say, however, is what he sees crystal clear. Azriel's essence, mixed with that of the unknown girl. He sees how both mingle in the air.
And then, Rhysand would swear that he stopped hearing Azriel's heartbeat next to him.
"My mate," his friend whispers. His face, a complete expression of surprise, something that the Shadow Singer rarely showed, "She's my mate.”

So I was relistening to Sam for the billionth time and once again came across David lecturing Darlin for being dumb.
Now, this episode gives me...mixed feelings. It always has. And the point I'm about to make was actually one of the first I ever made on the Discord but y'all know me, never missing a chance to restate and overexplain.
I'm most definitely not the first person to point this out but Darlin's first interactions with Sam that get them chewed out are extremely similar to Milo's first interactions with Sweetheart. They both meet somewhere where the listener shouldn't be, they come to a tentative agreement, then fight something that gets them fucked up and was kind of stupid. The difference is, as far as we know, David never finds out about Milo's stupid mistake. And, if you ask me, a shade is far more dangerous than a couple of vampires.
Can you imagine that pack meeting? Darlin getting read the riot act, Milo sitting there knowing he did something just the same but got away with it. Do you think he called them out? Or do you think he stayed quiet, knowing he had no room to talk?
And more so, how do you think Darlin reacted when they found out the story of how Milo and Sweetheart first met? The indignant rage of knowing what he did and got away with, the memory of the burning shame they had to sit there and endure, the humiliation they felt getting lectured like a child. He did the same thing and got none of that. I always imagined that when Sweetheart told them that they had to go take a walk for a few minutes in order to keep a cool head and not explode and then refused to talk to Milo for three weeks so that the rage would calm down and they wouldn't have to suppress the urge to break his jaw whenever they spoke to him.
The point I first made was "Do you think Darlin holds a grudge against Milo for not getting the same lecturing that they did?" Maybe it's not a strong one, but it's there.
It's interesting how the same event characterizes people differently. In Darlin's case, we see them as reckless and stubborn, someone acting out without a plan. In Milo's case, we see him as strong and protective, wanting to help keep someone safe. How can the same even paint one character as a hero and one as a villain when they did the same thing?
Because of connotation, my friends.
Milo has been painted as the smart-mouthed but fiercely loyal and protective friend, so we (including the rest of the pack) want to see his actions in the same light. Darlin has been painted as a brooding, emotional outcast, someone who acts rashly but with good intentions, so we see their actions similarly. But that's not fair. It's not fair to Darlin, who just wanted to protect their friends, and it’s not fair to Milo, who needs to be reminded that him throwing himself in the problem headfirst in life or death situations isn't the solution.
In conclusion, Milo deserves to have his little excursion with Sweetheart revealed and be reprimanded out of respect for Darlin cause that shit ain't right and it bothers me.
(Also, one more thing. In Sam's first healing audio after the double vampire fight he asks why Darlin wouldn't just tell a healer to shut up and heal them when they started asking questions. But in reality, the healer that Darlin would've gone to while running on instincts probably would've been Marie and yeahhhh I'd like to see anyone tell that woman to shut up and do something. Don't fuck with Mama Greer.)

The BenchTrio pt.1
I've been inspired yet again, background below, enjoy my ramblings
excuse my english, it's been some time since i wrote anything in it
-TOMMY-
Full Name: Tommy Innit (not yet Craft) but in the stage of becoming so. Voluntarliy. But not really. As always, the Syndicate trio looked at this child and said mine now. Tommy had to comply.
Alias: Just as with Siren, I didn't really wanna go with the most popular choice and come up with something myself, but after some searching I settled on Theseus anyway. LOOK. Tommy always wanted to be a hero, the good guy who can really change stuff and help the others. That's why he settled on the name of one of the greek's most popular heroes. He was the BIG GUY, THE BESTEST OF THE BEST, THE ONLY MAN EVER. However, the real reason was, that because of his powers, he was mostly confined to the healing quarters, he couldn't really prove himself on the field. The name was supposed to lift his spirit, pretend that if he could get a chance he could live up to it. THINGS CHANGED, when one day he was exceptionally let on a mission and stumbled upon a hurt Syndicate member (cough cliché cough) Perses(Techno). In the myth, Asclepius was the god of medicine, he was such a good healer, he started bringing people back to life. Now, the gods didn't like that, mostly because people were supposed to die and to not change their nature, but we'll ignore that and implement my story. The Commission wanted the villains gone and suddenly some guy is helping and healing them?? Nope. That's why they wanted the guy who was the cause gone. Just like in the myth Aeslepius was killed for his actions, so The Commission declared Tommy their enemy after they found out it's him. THEY KILLED HIS HERO STATUS. But he was reborn into a vigilante Asclepius, just like Asclepius in the myth was ressurected and became a god. Of course it was the Syndicate that came up with the name. 💥💥💥💥
Powers: I also thought about different powers, but after I came up with the stuff above, it all just fell into place.
So in my incomplete lore, when Tommy somehow meets Siren for the first time, when he's still a hero, they start fighting. Normally Wilbur would just start using his voice, BUT Tommy is quicker and more agile and manages to touch Wilbur.
One of his powers is emotion manipulation, he touches someone, he can alter what they feel. So when he puts his hand on Wil, he's able to do just that. (warning - my half-assed attempt at writing a fanfiction snippet)
Wilbur suddenly falls on his knees, hands shooting up to clutch his face which morphs into a horror filled expression. Trembling, unable to use his own powers, he looks up to Tommy.
"W-what did you do?!"
Tommy, shocked himself, stands still hovering over Siren. Looking at the image of the powerful villain crumbling before him, he slowly comes to his senses and starts to grab his compromised opponent. Yet, as he's about to do just that, in the last effort of self perseverance Siren lashes out at him, knocking him over, then while still trembling, runs away. When Tommy's able to pick himself up from the sudden attack, the villain is gone.
When he's part of the BenchTrio and an unofficial Syndicate member, he helps Wilbur and Techno with their emotions, that come with their powers. Wil, with his emotional stability, because let's be real, if you could command people to do whatever you want you could go a lil crazy with the power, and Techno, with his bloodlust state and sensory overload that the voices cause.
I think healing powers are kinda self explanatory. Touch, wound go brr and disappears. The bigger the damage the more energy it takes.
Additional info: His suit is not as proffesional as the others, because he has not yet been fully involved with The Syndicate. Therefore it's mostly scraps from his old costume and homemade parts. The others have proffesional gear made by The Syndicate.
-TUBBO-
Full Name: Tubbo Underscore
Alias: Atom, due his powers, no real story here. He was deemed by The Commission as too dangerous, his power too unstable and cast away to "retirement". He didn't want to fully join The Syndicate, but decided to work with them and became a vigilante. He was named Hephaestus.
"As a smithing god, Hephaestus made all the weapons of the gods in Olympus. He served as the blacksmith of the gods, and was worshipped in the manufacturing and industrial centres of Greece, particularly Athens."
Tubbo created weapons for The Syndicate.
Powers: He's able to create nuclear brusts that deal grave damage, but he tries to use this power as rarely as possible as not to destroy too much, opting to small blasts from his hands. However, he must be careful because his power is also linked to his emotions and if angered, distraught or scared he can lash out and burst with energy creating big explosion around him. That was the reason why The Commission feared him and wanted to get rid of him. They also didn't provide any useful ways of dealing with said powers, that's why he was unable to fully control them. HERE COMES TOMMAE with his powers, dudes helping bros.
Enhanced intelligence - my boy's a teenager and can build complex weapons - here's why.
FUN FACT: -that i came up with after coloring the drawing. Tubbo's costume is black and yellow, that's why Tommy calls him Beeboy.
Also, his suit was partily supposed to resemble those yellow hazmat suits (at least the hood).
-RANBOO-
Full Name: Ranboo Beloved
Alias: Due to his powers he was named Spectre. The Commission never fully trusted him, because of his memory problems and thought he might spill their beans. He convinced Tubbo to leave The Commission after him. He was named Lethe. "The shades of the dead were required to drink the waters of the Lethe in order to forget their earthly life. [..] Virgil writes that it is only when the dead have had their memories erased by the Lethe that they may be reincarnated." Ranboo was tasked with convincing and recruiting new members of The Syndicate. In a way he was the threshold between their old and new life.
Powers: Standard teleportation. Enhanced reflexes came form the idea that when Endermen are angered they become really fast :p. Also, the mask he's wearing works as a noctovisor. Where did that idea come from? Endermen canonically see the world in inverted colors which kinda looks like as if you used nightvision. Also he should probably see where he is teleporting.
BENCHTRIO LORE: The name BenchTrio, in this case, was made up as a joke, that all three of them were often benched while still working in The Commission. Tommy, because of healing powers, Tubbo because of his instability and Ranboo because of his memory problems.
If you've made it through the whole text ily <3
damn i love using greek mythology as a reference for this stuff it makes my brain go brrr.
As always I'm listing some of the fics that inspired me the most:
The Oath of Hippocrates by Melatonin_High
tommyinnit’s clinic for supervillains by bonesandthebees (bonesandcacti)
Welcome Home Theseus by SoulfirePhoenix
Give them the love they deserve!!
Now I'm onto finishing a little strip of comic for this universe >:333
Also enjoy my bff's reaction to me writing all that shit to her at 4 am:

i know the fandom loves to pretend that xie lian doesn't take care of himself but let's really think about it for a second. he doesn't have a penny to his name, he has no luck, no spiritual powers and no friends and family left in the mortal realm. how exactly should he take care of himself?
he eats food off the floor because it's better than going hungry. that's how many people in poverty live. he doesn't think twice before touching something that might poison him because when you don't receive medical attention for centuries, you're naturally going to adopt an "it is what it is" mentality about your health. he probably didn't get treated by a healer the first few times he got corpse poisoning because he didn't have enough (or any) money to pay them with. he's humble and ignores however which way he's slandered because what can he do? he's heard things like that and worse before.
800 years of poverty will teach anyone humility as well as strip them of it. 800 years of poverty and solitude can make anyone into a complete cynic, an abuser and/or worse.
but xie lian didnt break, not permanently. what jun wu put him through is nothing compared to what the world put him through. tell me this: is jun wu truly the real villain of the story? or is he a micro manifestation of all the other systematic issues in the TGCF universe, wrapped up into a shiny, evil package that's easier to hate, easier to digest and easier to fall for?
know that even though jun wu "set up" the fall of xianle, it was corruption and imperialism that truly brought the kingdom to its knees. know that teen xie lian truly fought for his people, be they patriots or rebels, and that the reason his efforts could never come to fruition was the corruption of the royals and the nobles.
in a world as systematically corrupt as that (much like our own), how easy do you think it would have been for a poor, homeless and friendless man to live a happy, fulfilling life (which he never lived)? and how much easier would it have been for him to gradually give away his morals and principles in favour of a better meal for once, for a better bed for the night? considering his martial skills and vast knowledge of cultivation, would it not have been easy for him to take a path like jun wu himself? like xue yang, even?
and do you think that xie lian did *not* do all these things just because he had "self-sacrificial" tendencies? after centuries of being only a little better than a beggar, do you think the reason he wants to help the common people is because he feels Rich Prince Guilt?
don't you think that the act of preserving oneself here, the act of not sacrificing onself for a cause, is actually whenever xie lian decides to keep following the path of justice, his Third Path? does self preservation only count when it's your body you're preserving, or your material wealth, or your name? surely your own principles matter more. surely you mean more than a fancy title on a tyrant's mouth.
place yourself in xie lian's shoes, and answer this: if you were to go through all that, even if you were to not become a horrible person, would have found and maintained the courage, time and time again, to keep being kind, to keep taking care of yourself, to not become heedlessly reckless, to not become a walking corpse with a noose (ruoye) wrapped around your neck?
in my opinion, xie lian is a hell of a lot positive for a man who's been through so much and never heard a "it's okay, you can rest now" once (until hua cheng came along, at least).
do you think xie lian doesn't feel bitterness towards lang qianqiu, who buried him with a stake through his heart for gods know how many years, because he just... hates himself? or do you think it's because he helped raise lang qianqiu since childhood and earned real respect and admiration from him, after so many years of being spat on, cursed and ultimately turned invisible? do you think he begged to be banished once again only because he felt guilty (although yes, he did feel very guilty) for the terrible fate that befell lqq's family, or because he also genuinely cares about what happens to his people --- he protected the xianle remnants by setting himself up as a cold-hearted murderer, and he protected lqq by refusing to fight him.
do you think that being so old and having seen so much, xie Lian can't tell danger when it's looking him in the eye? he's not stupid. he doesn't neglect his safety until and unless it's to protect someone he cares about. e.g., when he tried his level best to protect shi qingxuan during the Blackwater arc, knowing that he's fighting things and people beyond his control. my point: it didn't matter if he failed. he had to try, just like he tried with his kingdom, and the kingdom that came next. sqx was the first person after hua cheng to befriend and defend him in a long time, and he wanted to show him the same courtesy. can this be reduced to "self-sacrificing" tendencies or "playing the hero", too?
when xie lian stepped out of that bridal sedan, he knew he was playing with fire, but he's not stupid. if he hadn't stepped out, who is to say that crimson rain sought flower wouldn't have entered on his own, or dragged him out forcefully? xie lian isn't a "you only live once, let's make bad decisions" person. xie lian is a "no matter how many lives i live, i will not change" person.

*cracks knuckles* thank you for asking dear stranger i would love to ramble about my children (the?) Heroes of the City (sorry, I still don't understand how article THE works) is a story in the genre of LitRPG (like literature + RPG or manhwas/novells about rankers) and it's about Players who are trying to save The Sentient (?) City from self-destruction (or help it destroy itself if a Player feels like hating the world) so the main cast is Eki (she/them) aka The Leviathan Slayer aka The Hero she smol she kind she could kill a god if this god is a threat to her found family but only if said god is a physical threat she is a beating pillow for every morally gray/black character in The City and will never win against charismatic-based villain (she's very naive and soft hearted and everybody uses it)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Black Silver (she/her) aka The Witch or The City's Shadow
the hottest and the deadliest villain of The City and i have nothing else to say
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rex (he/them) aka [data deleted]
he is one of The City creators and his main mission is to be a threat to his ex-soulmate - Black Silver who is actively destroying The City
they are the Most Toxic Couple of the project and i feel terror every time i think about them
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Little Box (she/her) aka [???]
i don't know what she is and i'm lowkey scared to know so she's just vibin' here and there (i think she's dead)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Coffee Fox (he/him) aka The Keeper aka The Guardian
a barista of a tiny coffee shop and The Retired King of The City
he brings comfort and love to every Hero but can only watch The City fall because he's forever locked in his coffee shop
Tumblr media
Magnolia (she\her) and Glitches (they\them) aka The Healer/The Parasite
ah yes a cool badass parasite with no morale compass and an absolutely miserable host with terrible anxiety disorder i love it (Glitches also often flirts with The Bitch i mean with the guy who is hated by the whole City and Magnolia lives in constant fear because of it)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Midas (he/him) aka The Bitch i mean The Cursed King
The Bitch of The City (and he's fucking rich and hot too i hate him so fucking much i don't even draw him consistently WHYYYYYYYYYYY)
Tumblr media

Adam (the fuck/that) aka The Emptiness
the mute horror of the City (he likes Little Box and Magnolia though)

How do you imagine the adult!Damian's life?
First of all no evil pipeline and second no batman pipeline
I've seen some posts about him retiring himself and becoming a veterinarian but let's be real here, this boy can't stay still, he would enjoy the peace of civil life in the start but he will get bored soon and all his siblings and friends know it
Then I offer you: reluctant hero Damian 'I-said-I-want-peace-and-no-hero-stuff-but-I-see-some-bandits-and-I-need-to-protect-the-others' Wayne
The stories can help him help with the investigation, do a "hacker job" for some friends or siblings, fix some machine, literally punching villains and criminals in their face, being the family healer (he is a sorcerer guys), being the neighborhood cryptid, go some night as random vigilant because 'my brothers and father are so stupid for the fuckin' sake! I still need to do this shit' to save the city and/or his family
Also
Damian, in call with Tim: Explain to me again, why should I do it?
Tim: because I and Bernard are in our sabbat year and we all know how dad is when he is focused and your grades are perfect, Damian, no one would bother if you skip some class to help in this case
Damian: >tt< it's better you give me a nice souvenir when you come back, Timothy
_______
Damian: Jason... Why are you in my kitchen?
Jason: There's a bullet in my leg and I need you to take it out
Damian: ... You have luck that Alfred the cat like you
Jason: Are you not fixing this with magic?
Damian: How did you get shot?
Jason: ...me and my friends are drunk
Damian: you don't deserve magic
_____
Jon: Dami, please please please please please
Damian: I'm not a hero Jon, how do you expect me to invade the Luthor computer to help you? Do you want me to commit a crime?
Jon: please Damian! It's really important this time, I swear!
Damian: >tt< I'm in
Jon: you're the best Dami!
____
Damian gets an internship at the zoo and a group of criminals decide to steal the animals for genetic experiments
Damian: ... not in my watch
Damian, defeat the criminals and save everyone: you're late, it's yours and the girls' day shift
Duke: honestly? we came slowly because we knew you were here
___
Damian: today I just want to garden and read my shoujos
*literally aliens*
And the shit goes, sometimes he needs to be Batman because Bruce is old and needs help in some cases, and obviously the class "I'm not Batman!" basically adopt some random stray kid as young sibling now and carry them around everywhere
And also he will call his siblings for their first names in the future because they get Damian's trust but the most important family members still are: Alfred, Dick and Steph
And as a cherry on top: "you know what? I'm leaving! I can't have a shit in Gotham! I'm moving to Blüdhaven!"
Dick Grayson slowly picks up the box with a flamebird costume that "conveniently" fits on Damian perfectly
I say this because this boy has been disappointed by so many adults in his life and continues to be Robin, so the only conclusion is: he likes being a hero, not because of his father, but because of himself. That's why he wasn't just going to stop being a vigilant, he was going to continue being a hero even when he wanted peace

CW: LONG
World building question::: since Theseus did die and the minotaur escaped, how did that affect history and myths? Like a great demigod has been slain by a monster and a priestess not only led him out of his captivity BUT MARRIED(?) HIM!
Did the great writers write myths about them? The witch and the monster or because they were never cursed by the gods maybe it's written in a beauty and the beast style, like the priestess and the wild man? Or, desperate to hide the fact their great hero failed and the supposed monster was actually just a very large man abandoned by his family, the great writers lied about Theseus' victory over the minotaur, and Ariadne!reader + Minotaur!Konïg are just known as this really odd couple.
Speaking of which, besides being seen as very odd because of their love for each other, how else are they treated? Is reader still given the same respect as a priestess? What does she do while Konïg is gone? Does she deal with any harassment? What about Konïg? We know he sails but does he become a hero or legend? Does the crew he sails with know he's the minotaur? Or do they just regard him as this unsocialized large man and that's it?
Ahhh so many possibilities!!!! Sorry this is so long I just love these twoooo ugh :(((
Heyy! These questions are so super cute!! 💕
Knowing how crazy and unfair these myths usually are, I’d bet the tales would paint the priestess as the villain of the story, even worse than Pasiphae or even the bull himself. She not only unleashed the Minotaur but also allowed him to hit so that's like super naughty of her! :((
Also no storyteller was there to see their love or how they lived after they left Crete so these two were written down as deformed monsters who killed the king, wrecked the island of Crete, fornicated in the wilderness and probably ate children along the way. If they ever heard any of these stories during their lifetime, they must’ve laughed!
--besides being seen as very odd because of their love for each other, how else are they treated? Is reader still given the same respect as a priestess? What does she do while Konïg is gone? Does she deal with any harassment?
Reader becomes a weaver and a healer beyond the sea. She’s no longer an “official” initiate but knows that Hecate is still with her (because that's how it is when a powerful goddess claims you as her own!)
She uses her skills and knowledge for healing which makes her a respected member in their new community. Because of the influence of her dark goddess she’s a bit of a loner still, and does not easily make friends. But now that she can dabble in the so called “worldly affairs”, she wants to help others if she can, and by saving lives she gains a widely honored reputation.
If anyone harasses her while König is away–which would be rare because anyone can see her husband is a beast—she might show a darker side of herself and the goddess at her back. People will rather leave her alone than test the power of the foreign woman’s curse, and besides, most men respect her out of fear. Which of course makes König smile with pride :)
What about Konïg? We know he sails but does he become a hero or legend? Does the crew he sails with know he's the minotaur? Or do they just regard him as this unsocialized large man and that's it?
No one knows about König's past and he likes to keep it that way. If he could decide he’d rather not be perceived at all, any kind of reputation just inherently feels wrong to him. He especially doesn’t want to be thought as the true heir to any throne: king is a synonym for tyrant in his mind so he doesn’t want to have anything to do with his royal past.
König never becomes much of a legend except in his home town and with his crew, and even then he’s mostly celebrated as the big buff guy who doesn’t talk much but who always keeps his word and fucks and fights like it’s his last day on this earth. For König, it’s enough that his wife is pleased with him and that people who know him think he’s a good man. He’s very happy with this kind of legacy!
This couple wants to be left out of the history books altogether, they want to live a happy, peaceful life that's uneventful and lovely in it's simple beauty. No one remembers who they were after a few centuries have passed, and they wouldn't have it any other way. ❤️❤️❤️

The thing about an AU where Gojo and Shoko defect with Geto is that, well, they're OP af. The two strongest sorcerers? Plus the best healer? With these three as the newest villains on the block, the "good guys" wouldn't last one chapter. So now what? (。_。)
Edit to add my solution: A Family of Villains - A wacky villain origin story/Kinda a slice-of-life fic exploring the logistics of sashisu being the greatest villains in the jujutsu world while being 18, on the run, and raising 4 kids. Mostly fluff and humor of course.
