Hi! I started watching Devil Judge and realized that Jian Yuelou and Kang Ye Han have a lot in common. Only Yuelou had Commissioner Bai, thanks to whom he retained his humanity /I'm not sure if I put it right/ unlike Ye Han. How do you think they are similar and how do they differ? And if they had met, would they have been able not to kill each other in the first minutes of communication?😅

I believe I actually answered this question a few years ago, actually, except I compared Yohan, Gaon and Elijah to Jiang Yuelou, Chen Yuzhi, and Keying. But I can do this again, sure, no problem

Similarities

Fucked up childhood/backstory (Kang Yohan was abused by his father, bullied at school, and lost his brother in a church fire; Jiang Yuelou was abused by his father, was abandoned by his mother at age 11, forced to take on his father's debts after he died....fucked up)

Both are extremely possessive of their significant other. Extremely

Loves their significant other a lot.  Like a lot

Showers their partners in gifts (i.e. Yohan gives Gaon a new watch, new clothes, Jiang Yuelou gives Chen Yuzhi a tie that was meant for him, a whole ass clinic, a fucking hand carved sign to go along with said clinic...)

Both have cats

Both have little girls to look after: Keying and Elijah

Wants revenge on the people/things that caused their suffering/tragic backstory: Yohan and the Blue House/whatever the fuck the party was called, Jiang Yuelou and opium

Has been severely injured: Yohan with his gunshot wound to the stomach, Jiang Yuelou in the shootout against his mother, shot himself in the arm, another shot to the arm

Has saved their significant other many times from getting hurt: Kang Yohan with coming to Gaon's aid when fighting Juk Chang's gang members, Jiang Yuelou rescuing Chen Yuzhi from Jin Dacheng's torture

Has taken care of their significant other whenever they got hurt/sick: Yohan taking care of Gaon after Gaon saved him from the bomb in his office, Jiang Yuelou taking care of Chen Yuzhi whenever he collapsed from a fever after sitting in chilling cold rain for too long as he carved out his sister's memorial plaque

Jiang Yuelou has a family to fall back on; Kang Yohan has no one once Isaac dies (I mean he has Ms. Ji but it's not the same)

Professions: Kang Yohan is a judge, Jiang Yuelou is a cop

One's significant other is alive, the other is dead (but we don't talk about that)

Kang Yohan is willing to bend the rules/manipulate to get what he wants, Jiang Yuelou plays by the rules (but pushes the envelope) and is much more straightforward

Kang Yohan is far wealthier than Jiang Yuelou

Honestly, I'm sure there are other differences, but it's been so long since I've thought about the devil judge that I can't remember

As for if they met...I'm sure they'd probably be very civil...Kang Yohan is very much so like Zhan Junbai, so Jiang Yuelou has some experience talking with that. Though I'm very sure they'd do research on each other before they meet...and if they start to push each other buttons/bring up each other's past (because Kang Yohan is good at doing that) then that's when I'm sure they'll be at each other's throats. Hopefully Chen Yuzhi and Gaon will stop them from doing that however. Hopefully
