Why would you ever apologize that's the fun part of ask games!!

Going to be as obnoxious as possible and choose my favorite per year for each of these!!!! (solo fics only, though some of my collabs are right up there!!)

35. What’s your favorite fic you’ve posted?

2019

The Five People Who Missed Peter Parker the Most, as it is my first fic and will forever be my favorite. I put so much of myself in it and I'm so very proud of it.

2020

Not Just a Machine because it was (I think?) the first Detroit:Become Human AU and because it was so much fucking work and yet I loved it so fucking much!!!!!

2021

Indirect Proof because this was also a year in the making. I put so much time, thought, and effort into every single part of this fic. I love it so much.

2022

from the sidelines, because of how much love and time I put into it. My magnum opus perhaps!

2023 (thus far)

ghosts that we knew simply because it was four years in the making and was (still is???) the only biodad AU I know that wrote the inverse.

36. What fic are you proudest of?

2019

Five Times Peter Made Michelle Laugh because it was my first 5+1! It's still one of my favorite genres of fics even if I don't write it as much. I miss that time period and writing this little nudged to the left thing was so exciting.

2020

Your Hand in Mine because it was an unintentional post IW/EG rewrite that I didn't intend to write. It was originally something SO different but I'm really proud that I made my own contribution to this trope.

2021

Like a Wall of Stars because it created the Woobeau tag bitches! This isn't the first (or the last) time I created something for the first time on AO3 but it's one that I'm still so giddy and proud that I was able to do and do with love.

2022

when you help someone, you help everyone because post NWH fics with Peter & New York City are still so frustratingly rare. I'm very proud of this one and the emotions it conveys.

2023 (thus far)

point of view, quite simply because it might be the fic that takes me over 100k? it's one that I absolutely did NOT expect to become anything more than what it is and yet.

37. What fic has been the hardest for you to write?

2019

Someday We'll Know, simply because it was the first of my fics to "blow up" - it got so much attention and love that while flattering, made me a little nervous at the time because I was still so new.

2020

Insult to Injury, not because it was actually difficult but because a Morgan POV that intentionally wanted to disrupt some fandom tropes? I was concerned how people would react to it. That it did so well was very gratifying.

2021

No Need to Say Goodbye because everyone knows how much I despise the May Dies trope to my very core. Writing my own attempt at this misogynistic trope was an exercise in grief that fucked me up for a bit.

2022

into the dark because it was the first (and probably last lmao) time I ever wrote a time loop fic, one that I made harder myself by writing it in MJ's POV and not Peter's. I'm so proud of it but hot damn was it hard to think about and plot.

2023 (thus far)

when you move, i move, simply because fandom is horrendous and spideydevil is automatically thought of as an age gap. it's not! they existed before the MCU! alas.

38. What is your most self-indulgent posted story?

2019

Maybe in Another Universe (I Deserve You) was before it's time!!! It's so underrated TO ME and I love it so much. Proof positive of how much my love for Peter and MJ endures!

2020

This Never Happened Before which was The Lake House AU I spent a whole ass year talking about before I finally wrote it. Very gorgeous to me!!

2021

My Tears Are Becoming a Sea was a fic I never thought I'd write? Parkner? Peter at MIT?? What the hell? Never let anyone say spite can't fuel you lmao I'm very proud of this fic and what it wanted to say

2022

tell me where (to put my love) because first kill deserved better!!!!!!!!!!!

2023 (thus far)

back to december because tsitp is a dumb teen show with a dumb teen fandom but fuck if i won't treat you right jeremiah!

4. Tell me about one of your abandoned WIPs. Why did you abandon it?

I answered this one slightly differently a moment ago and reading it again you’ve just reminded me of my first ever Lestappen fic, pre-Monaco Malaise!

I had thousands of words traversing the 2019 season. From the Holy Temple of Lestappen that is Austria ‘19, to mentions of Silverstone, I got up to Germany. A group of driver’s go out drinking and headed back to Sebastian’s holiday home where Max and Charles ended up sharing a bed together. Classic one bed trope. The idea fizzled out, but here’s a snippet of drunk Charles oversharing:

Charles considered him for a moment, “I’ve had my share of sober flings, but gotta keep up appearances, you know.”

That comment niggled its way under Max’s skin, but the thought of having a heart to heart with Charles about his sexuality felt like crossing a line.

The silence extended a beat too long so Charles continued, “I don’t drink much, not since signing for Ferrari. Lowered inhibitions means taking risks. The risk of being seen, or taking the wrong guy home increase pretty quickly.”

5. Share a snippet that you’re proud of from an upcoming fic/chapter.

Sweetheart, I’d send you my whole draft if I felt it was ready, of course you can have another snippet ❤️

“I don’t want another drink.”

Max’s gaze lingers heavily on Charles as he takes a long, slow swig. Dutch courage and all that. The glass is half empty when he places it on the countertop.

“What do you want then?”

16. Do you stick to canon when you write characters and fics?

This is a big fat yes! I experienced a full blown moral dilemma when I had to change one fact for the purposes of continuing the plot for Monaco Malaise Part Two. I already have my disclaimer written that’s how seriously I take it 😂

Of course within reason we all have to deviate from truth and canon but I try my best to portray the most authentic retelling of events and representation of our boys! ❤️

I just wanna say your retro style is so absolutely spot on. I always stop and admire how thoughtful it is, I feel the love you have poured into it. Thank you for sharing them, they delight me every time.

This makes me so, so happy... thank you!! The style developed a couple years ago, when I was going through a pretty stressful part of my life. And while I was (haunted) house-sitting for my grandpa, I decided to put on some old tv programs! (Schoolhouse Rock, my beloved). I found that drawing in a style that harkened back to my childhood cheered me up and was also just really fun and stylistically liberating! :D It's nice being able to make art that has ties to my happy memories and also have people enjoy it just as much as I do <3
