Hello! For those who don't speak Korean, I have what I consider a very cool character fact to share about Ray that you wouldn't even come close to getting with the English version!

So, Korean has different formalities to be used when speaking to others.

When Ray first meets and speaks with the player (even the VERY first time through text messages), he speaks with the ***lowest*** informality! He talks and types with familiarity, which is considered highly inappropriate/rude with a stranger! You can interpret this in two ways: Ray already feels familiarity with you and it's his way of trying to manipulate a connection between the two of you, and/or-......consider the fact that you are also a "outsider" to this cult. You don't belong, you're not one of them. Considering Ray uses this type of language when he VERY FIRST meets you, it's highly possible it's ALSO due to the fact that he doesn't necessarily *respect* you. Those brainwashed inside cults are strictly taught to avoid connection with outsiders. There are multiple instances in Ray route where he hints at and also directly tells you that you're not one of them.

Tldr; Ray, from the very first moment of talking to the player, treats them as someone very close to him/very **beneath** him, depending on how you'd like to interpret his intentions. Maybe a little of both hehe

Anyways!! Fun piece of information I thought I would share with non-native Korean speakers! I think it's a very interesting part of Ray's character that absolutely no western fandom has covered...maybe because it might seem insignificant? But I really like this fact about him! As a fellow Ray enjoyed I thought you may like this! Thanks for listening :)

See, that's one of those things that gets lost in translation. English doesn’t have the same niche for honorifics as Korean does, so I do think that’s one of the things that gets lost whenever translators do their best to adapt the game from one language to another. I would read into this as him being informal with you because he already sees you with somebody who will be close to him no matter what.

Why go through the process of changing his language when his end goal is to be the most important person in your life? Break down the walls of formality and show you that you already matter to him. That makes sense for his desire and infatuation in my eyes, but... there's a point you make with him speaking above you.

There are hints of this sprinkled all over the place, and it's not that he thinks he's better than you, it's that he thinks he's smarter than you. Because of the manipulation he's undergoing, he believes that he might be the only person in the world who may be able to protect you from everything horrible and rotten. He has suffered so much and he is determined to make sure you don't suffer.

Which means that if he has to do something to correct you, he will, and there are two Bad Endings where that is the case. The Common Ending on Day 4 has him tell you that you can restart the game over and over until you’re fixed… and there’s a Bad Relationship Ending in V Route where Rika gifts you to Ray and he locks you away in your room until he and Saeran decide what they want to do with you.

So I heard that Tumblr is slowly being abandoned (they seem to be laying off a majority of their staff and keeping a skeleton crew) and we might be nearing the end of this webbed site. I don't think it's currently worth panicking over, but I'm definitely going to start making that neocities website.

I'll make a post soon about other places where you can find me. Unfortunately, I've spent quite some time these last couple years getting rid of a majority of my social media because most platforms were bad for my mental health. I do not plan on going back to these platforms, so if tumblr goes down, I'm going to be only on non social media.

Maybe if one of the new social medias being created, actually take off (like bluesky or pillowfort or whatever else these days) I might join, but if not I might be entirely on personal websites, patreon (I will start posting regularly like a blog and make more free posts), some old websites I deleted but not because I hated them (such as ko-fi, which I deleted due to inactivity) and possibly furaffinity. I'm still on the fence about furaffinity. I might also finally start using my toyhouse but that is an oc sharing website and not much of an art sharing website.

I really do hope Tumblr doesn't go down, this is my one social media and if it does go down I am going to lose nearly all of my audience. I can make do by creating a personal blog and using whatever I have left in terms of "can post my art there and people can find me", and it won't discourage me from making my personal projects. I can make do, and I will make do, but I don't really want to make do.

Anyways, that's all I have to say right now, I'll make a post later once I set up some alternative sites to find me at, but for now I want to give the heads up that if I'm gone, you're not gonna find me on twitter, Instagram, or whatever third option there is. I'm likely going to just make do, be offline more, and likely just become active on the discord servers I'm on.

Hrmm... Revising my game and I feel like there's still sooo much writing left to do, for something that probably won't even amount to much, so.. I do want to narrow my focus more (especially given my health problems seeming to get worse/less energy the past few years), but I'm not sure how would be best to...

I currently have 5 characters as the Main ones with full planned questlines and such, with each character having 6 quests you can do for them. But I haven't really started the writing for the 5th main character. So then I was thinking, if I were going to write 6 full quests worth of content anyway... is it better to allocate that time on just doing a Complete 6 Quests for ONE single character, OR would it be better to do something like.. choose THREE side characters and do 2 quests for each of them? So that people have a wider variety to interact with and sort of sample around (of course with the idea that, once the first version of the game is released, IF people actually care about it enough to make it worth the effort, I would then add additional content to complete those 3 characters stories as well)

If you were playing an interactive fiction sort of game centered around talking to & doing quests for a cast of characters (like there's no larger plot, more it's just about interacting with people, every character kind of has a self contained story, the focus is just learning about them and the world and exploring the area) --- Which would you rather have?

(and of course it would be stated up front which characters have only partial questlines, so people don't expect them to have full quests like the others and then get disappointed, or etc. etc.)

Basically, is it better to just focus in specifically on having one fully complete questline? Or for there to be a few stories that are not complete yet, but have more initial options available?

#I guess I just feel weird about investing too much into characters if possibly nobody will like them. so the idea of being able to sample #around a wider variety opens up the option of like 'hey even if neither of these 4 are your favorite - you have 3 other options soon too!' #or whatever. BUT I also am very anti-the trend of releasing half finished games or shit like that where people preorder and then #the game sucks on actual release and isn't fully playable or good until 5 updates later #HOWEVER.. those are giant companies with hundreds of employees and millions in funding. i get slightly annoyed when people make community posts that tell ppl to stop doing xyz and use the phrases "they're a FICTIONAL character, theyre NOT REAL" to justify whatever theyre saying because:

1) everyone knows that already, we're all aware these are blorbos from our media;

2) if someone is genuinely struggling to grasp that because of a delusion or similar, a forceful reality check is only going to cause harm rather than help;

3) it just feels so needlessly patronizing;

4) most of the time whatever I see people complaining about is either smth that I never see anyone doing or if it is smth somebody is doing then the block button is a very quick and effective fix for the issue (or even a quick convo w the person in DMs can resolve issues!)

(granted I keep my following circle very small and probably miss a lot but if i can do that then perhaps... perhaps other people can do it too fhfkdl like just prune back whatever u dont like seeing! unfollow or block as needed!)
