🎀 Hobbies 🎀

I feel as tho I don't have much time to do things besides school, work, some chores, and survive right now, but I've been thinking about some hobbies I enjoy and would like to incorporate into my life when I decide to make the time without burning out!

Reading - I used to be big on reading just about any books I could get my hands on. Then I was really focused on reading self help, and now that I haven't been reading at all, I've been thinking about getting back into reading. Always looking for book recommendations, and I do have my eye on some books I'd like to purchase.

Gardening - if I had the time and space, I'd love to have a flower garden or a vegetable garden. It always makes me happy when the fruits of my efforts come to life, so tending to plants and gardening sounds super fun and relaxing.

Video Games - I used to play video games on and off, but I wouldn't mind owning a PS4 or a Switch and spending some time playing video games whenever I'd want time to wind down.

Cooking/Baking - I love learning things, and the sense of pride I've gotten in the past when receiving praise for things I've cooked or baked has really driven me to want to increase my skill. I've only baked something from scratch once in my life, but I'd really like to expand my skills in making desserts.

Exercise - I'm talking all forms of it! Dancing, martial arts/kickboxing type activities, yoga, pilates, running, swimming, spin/cycling, weight lifting (again), calisthenics, all of it! I don't currently look like the exercise type but I find various forms of movement to be so fun! If I had more time, I'd be trying new things all the time!

Volunteer work - This is something I used to do all the time, and it's a hobby that I enjoyed that kept me humble. Not only that, but I thoroughly enjoy showing kindness and compassion to others. Making a difference in anuwau brings me so much joy, and I love meeting new people and learning their stories. I also would love to volunteer with animals, because they deserve so much love and affection too!

Drawing/Art - I used to draw for fun but when I started college, I didn't have the time to devote to continuously increasing my art skills. I still own a sketch kit, coloring materials, and several sketchbooks so it really is a matter of having time.

Crochet - The thought of making things that I can gift to others seriously makes me so excited!! Crochet seems like such a fun, crafty, relaxing activity and the added fun of gifting those crafts to others would make it so fun!!

Scrapbooking - I don't know if I'd ever do this one, but I do Ike the idea of keeping my memories in a physical space, and not just in like pictures on my phone.

Learning - if school wasn't crazy busy, I'd spend all my time learning languages (ASL, Japanese, Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, Italian, etc), computer coding skills, how to make and do certain things, just anything I can do to keep my mind enriched.

Upcycling/Altering Clothes - I would love to upcycle or alter articles of clothes into more personalized pieces for myself. The thought of having a personalized, hand made closet full of clothes makes me really want to buy a sewing machine and learn how to use it to my advantage!

That's all I can think of for now that I'd like to someday incorporate into my life. Having hobbies is always so fun, but I've been so busy and tired that I don't mess with any of the hobbies I'd want to do. If anyone has any tips for time management, or resources for beginning new hobbies, please let me know!!

SHIFTBLR. I WAS SO CLOSE. AND I FIGURED OUT MY INTENTION.

OKAY SO LAST NIGHT I POSTED A SCREENSHOT OF A GUIDED SHIFTING MEDITATION BY ALUNIR THAT I WAS GONNA USE.

BUT BEFORE I EVEN USED IT, I WANTED TO REALLY GET IN THE MOOD TO SHIFT TO MY KPOP IDOL DR, SO I LISTENED TO SOME BTS, STRAYKIDS AND TWICE SONGS AND ALSO SOME OTHER SONGS I HAD CLAIMED AS MY OWN. I WAS REALLY HAVING FUN IMAGINING MYSELF IN MY DR WITH MY GIRL GROUP (IT almost felt like my kpop obsession days in highschool all over again😭😭) I WAS IMAGINING HOW FUNNY OUR LIVES WOULD BE AND THE CHALLENGE GAMES, THE CONCERTS, THE FAN MEETS, THE COLLABS THE HANG OUTS WITH OTHER KPOP GROUPS, THE FOOD?? SPEAKING IN SIFFERENT LANGUAGES, HOW FINEEE I WILL LOOK (also how fine the idols are gonna be up close, just GOD DAMN MAN.).

I WAS JUST HAVING A BLAST IN MY HEAD REALLY. AND THEN I FELT LIKE I WAS READY TO SHIFT. I FELT SO EXCITED YET SO NERVOUS, I KNEW I WOULD WAKE UP THERE. I EVEN HESITATED FOR A BIT BEFORE CLICKING THE VIDEO BUT JUST WENT FOR IT.

GUYS. LITTLE DID I KNOW THE EXCITING FEELING I HAD, WAS MY INTENTION TO SHIFT. IT WAS THE KNOWING FEELING THAT I WOULD INFACT ARRIVE THERE REGARDLESS OF ANY RANDOM DOUBTING THOUGHTS I HAD. SO WHEN I WENT ONTO REPEAT THE AFFIRMATIONS ALUNIR WOULD SAY, I ALSO STARTED IMAGINING (again🚶🏾‍♀️) HOW IT WOULD FEEL TO BE THERE AND I SHIT YOU NOT. IT TOOK LESS THAN AN HOUR FOR ME TO SUDDENLY FEEL LIKE MY POSITION HAD CHANGED?? MY BED NO LONGER FELT LIKE A BED, IT FELT LIKE A SOFA (A VERY NICE ONE AT THAT TOO LMFAO) BUT I CHICKEN OUT LIKE THE COWARD I AM AND CAME BACK😭😭😭😭😭

I remember you liking that one music video with a bl-esque story line (two guys on a vacation or something?), so I was wondering if you were aware of the k-pop group OnlyOneOf? Their song "libidO" has an mv that depicts (queer) sexual awakening, in my opinion quite beautifully and tastefully. They have also recently started a series of solo projects, the first one being YooJung's song "begin" where the mv depicts the beginnings of a romantic story between a diner worker (YooJung) and a business guy (played by another member of the band, KB). KB is releasing his own solo song "be free" next week, on the 26th, and that mv will be continuation to "begin". (Also, since you like a good suit, I'd recommend watching their video "suit dance (lyOn's Den ver.)" because, well... they're dancing in nice suits.)

KPOP BL CROSSOVER DISCUSSION INCOMING

That music video I talked about in the past is Park Won's Fuxxxxx Crazy and it stars the teacher from Light on Me opposite the cutie from Mr Heart in a long weekend get away date and it is SO CUTE (and a little hot). I think of it as the follow up to the tiny cliff hanger we got for that teacher character in LoM.

I have seen libidO from OnlyOneOf.

It made a buzz here on the Tumblrs when it came out. I enjoyed the video, although I'm not wild about the song. I don't love it when Kpop references the late 90s. Early 90s, sure, but once it gets clubby and trancey I kinda check out.

I watched begin on your rec. Your YooJung is ADORBS (reminds me of a femme Kai - NO BAD THING), now there is a boy who should do BL. It's a very cute MV. Everyone should check it out!

But again, I’m not wild about the song. My taste in Kpop is... very specifically odd and kind of eclectic.

Look, for me, while OnlyOneOf are actually decent singers without any autotune (thank you 8D Creative) they are really breathy in their execution, pulling on head voice overmuch. This makes them sound untrained, immature, and a little unsophisticated to my ear. (I come from BTOB so my standards are high for vocal idols.)

I talked about this once with regards GOT7 but my preference is ALSO for bolder brassy voices (like when Jay B does rock - you need a wet recording to hear this). And if they have to go falsetto, something more warm and honey like Jinyoung (GOT7) or super sophisticated with controlled depth like Changsub (BTOB).

I know the OnlyOneOf boys are young and with a handler new to Kpop, so hopefully they are getting the training they need.

Still, you’re right, I love this for them: a series of linked MVs with a BL plot line, and I am intersted in seeing where they go with it. I subbed one of my side YT accounts to follow the group, I’m intersted in the story.

Nevertheless, if you think about it, will you let me know when KB releases be free? I wanna know what happens next!
