Hellooo! Im so happy you opened your request 😩Can i request something for platonic Yandere strawhats (zoro and luffy really) with a teen! Reader who acts snarky and bold but they’re scared of everything form a butterfly to a emperor of the sea so they refuse to join the crew? If possible could you include law as well. Tyy💕
─Yandere!Strawhats (Luffy & Zoro) & Law x teen!reader (Platonic)
─Summary: you are a stubborn teenager and you refuse to have extra 'protection', bad luck for you…
─Warnings: manipulation, death, mention of gutting someone, blood, unjustified obsession, toxic behaviors, yandere stuff...
Tumblr media
─ Are you an idiot? Affectionate question that these two ask each other when they meet you.
─ You are brave and stubborn enough to get hurt during a fight but you run away if you see a butterfly because bugs are ugly and scary according to you.
─ And on top of that you deny his offer to be on his crew? Your pride is going to make these two men bald, they are doing all this for your good, you should be more aware of their actions.
─ Luffy is by your side day and night repeating over and over again that you are part of his crew, he will refuse to leave the island without you, you are too young, inexperienced and afraid to survive on your own even if you have family who can take care of you.
─ In fact, Zoro already took care of that, definitely if your family members didn't exceed his expectations, which to no one's surprise, they didn't, they wouldn't be able to protect you like he would.
─ It took them at least a week to persuade you enough with some manipulation, with the help of Robin, and even when you were half convinced to leave in search of not-so-desired adventures, they ended up kidnapping you because you were still stubborn.
─ So you found yourself glued to two idiots against your will, playing games with Luffy that even at your age wouldn't find fun, watching in silence as Zoro flexed his muscles while he trained.
─ And if you thought that someone from the crew was going to help you get out of that spiral of obsession you were very wrong, if they weren't threatened, they would also be somewhat obsessed with keeping you safe after spending some time by your side.
─ They will take advantage of how scared you are, literally anything would make you jump two meters off the ground, once you were scared of your own shadow, everyone will take advantage of it to scare you and make you hug them.
─ No matter how much you fight, Luffy needs at least one hug daily and will wrap his rubber arms around you completely suffocating you, Zoro is not that fussy, but he will use you as a stuffed animal to hug during his naps.
─ Don't even think about seeking comfort from anyone other than them or at least part of the crew when you're scared, they are the only ones who can help you, understand, the others only want to use you and won't take care of you as well as they do.
─ Many failed escape attempts, either because you have been caught or because you were just sailing through waters infected with sea monsters, you always end up locked up overnight as punishment.
─ If necessary, they will knock you out so that you do not put yourself in danger, your sarcasm and sometimes bad temper can put you in dangerous situations and they are not going to go through that, they would have to kill someone again.
Tumblr media
─ He was just passing by, your island was in a small fever pandemic and Law was just helping the whole town a little, however you seemed so out of it when you were sick, so lost and hurt, you reminded him of his sister.
─ He simply took you away to, supposedly, cure you since he had better equipment on the submarine, you couldn't even fight against this because seriously, it seems like you have one foot in the grave when you're sick.
─ He got rid of all your discomforts, but he also discovered that you were a big mouth, but hey, no one likes to be kidnapped so he got a good dose of irritating adolescence.
─ It was difficult to make you see reason that you would be much better off with him and that your island was potentially dangerous, it's not like you came to reason but he forced you to listen to him and collaborate with some threats.
─ He was quite surprised when one night you asked him to sleep with him because you saw a spider prowling around your room, even though you were a very sarcastic and sassy person, you were very scared and he used that as an advantage.
─ Do you want to get out of the submarine? It's okay, just hold his hand and you can go anywhere, do you want to go outside alone? No way, do you know about the insects, contagious diseases and monsters that can wait for you out there? Of course not, you're just a teenager.
─ He always makes excuses that something that terrifies you is hanging around the islands where you stop.
─ Maybe if you get too annoying or whiny about not being able to go out on your own, he'll let you go on your own for a bit… although it only gives you a false feeling of freedom since you always have one of the crew members watching you closely.
─ No teenage romance, he is not going through that time, if necessary he will show you the person you like dissected to scare you enough to think twice about trying to escape.
─ Consider all escape attempts a failure because Law has everything really calculated and the crew is too afraid at this point, they were the ones who had to clean the mutilated corpses of the people who were on the blacklist.
─ Because Law wrote down each of the people who have done something to you that he considers bad or harmful to you.
─ He has already lost a sister, he's not going to lose another even if you are not related to him by blood.

Don’t Fall In Love With Me (Yet) Pt. 3
Pairing: Trafalgar Law x reader
Content: reader wears a bathing suit (bikini top, shirtless, etc not specified!!!), a tiny amount of cursing, jealousy, a little hurt/comfort, gn reader, strawhat reader
Word Count: 1.5k
A/N: hey guys! sorry i’ve been sort of MIA for a few days, just got really busy and things. but, i finally had the time and energy to write today! law wants the reader so bad if you can’t tell… but he’s like waiting bc he’s unsure of how to the whole relationship, but like he’s learning!!! and they’re growing together!! so i hope you enjoy <3 (comment to be tagged in future parts!!!)
Part 2
It’s not uncommon for people to fall overboard on the Thousand Sunny. And by people, you mean Luffy, Chopper, and Brook. How was it that three out of the five devil fruit users currently on board were so clumsy? You weren’t quite sure, but it was something all the crew was accustomed to and therefore knew to watch out for.
On this occasion, it’s a Chopper who’s managed to be knocked into the sea below.
“Chopper, watch out!” Zoro calls to the young doctor, but it’s too late. He’s hit head on by a wooden plank under Franky’s arm. As the cyborg spins around in turning directions, he knocks the poor reindeer overboard.
“Shit! Quick, somebody go get him!” Nami commands.
You’re already stripping off your shirt and shoes (you’re wearing a bathing suit underneath, of course) as you run to the side of the ship. “On it!” The entire crew follows after you while Chopper is still falling, not even in the water yet. Your hands are on the railing ready to jump over, when you hear; “Room, Shambles” along with the sudden absence of Chopper’s scream. Sanji holds you back at the last second and helps you back down to the deck when you all realize; he’s back on the deck. The rest of your friends rush back to the center of the deck, where Chopper seems to be safe and sound. He clings on to his savior, Law’s leg, gasping and still catching his breath after his brush with death.
You and Sanji run to join the others, who are surrounding the youngest crewmates with hugs and crying. (You’re a very emotional group of people, after all.) Meanwhile, Law stands with his arms crossed off to the side. You run to him, instead, wrapping your arms around his neck in a brief hug.
“Thank you, Law.”
You could swear that you see a smile pass over his features before he coughs and shakes his head. “Don’t mention it.”
Laws hands remain on your hips after you’ve pulled back, and yours are still resting on his shoulders. You smile at him, and he wants nothing more than to just take your jaw in his hand and kiss you. The skin to skin contact from you being stripped down to your swimwear, and him shirtless as per usual, causes his cheeks and ears to flush a rosy hue.
Unfortunately, your rare, tender moment is disrupted by a low whistle, followed by teasing remarks and laughter. How could he have forgotten that your crew- your very obnoxious, childish, silly crew- is standing just feet away? Sure, you might not mind being so openly affectionate around them, but he does! So, with extreme awkwardness, he releases you and steps backwards.
*Ahem… I, uh…”
“They’re only, teasing, Law.” You laugh along with your friends.
He watches as you bound away from him and into the arms of your crewmates, playfully pushing them away as they sing some ridiculous song; “Law and y/n, sitting in a tree…” Even though you’re telling them off, he can’t help but feel a pang of jealousy at how naturally you fit in with all of them. How easily they make you smile and laugh- had you ever looked so happy in front of him? The whole ordeal makes him feel self conscious. “I could never make you as happy as your crew does,” he thinks. “And you would never leave them for me.”
That’s enough for him to storm off, too annoyed to even wave “bye.” Of course, you take notice of this. Surrounded by people a thousand times more boisterous than him, your eyes still remain drawn to his figure. You excuse yourself from the others and follow Law, calling after him.
“Law! Wait up!”
There’s evident surprise in his expression when he turns back. He pauses for you to catch up with him in a narrow corridor below deck, while you slip your shirt back over your head. “What is it?”
You quirk a brow- his tone is colder than it usually is (with you, at least.) Had the jokes from your fellow Strawhats really bothered him so much? “Uh… nothing, I just want to go with you.”
He hums and continues walking. “I’m not doing anything very fun. Just going to study.”
With a shrug, you continue following him. “Then I’ll catch up on my reading, too.”
When Law stops suddenly and turns to face you once more, you nearly bump into his chest. “You don’t have to coddle me, y/n.”
“…What?”
“Go have fun with your friends, I’m fine.”
“What are you talking about? They were just kidding about us, Law, it doesn’t mean anything.”
“That-That’s not what I’m talking about! You don’t have to follow me around and pretend like you enjoy being around me when it’s so obvious how much you love being with your crew.”
“Is that why you’re upset? You’re jealous because I love my crew?”
“I’m not jealous, I just don’t like being pitied.”
“I don’t pity you, Law. We’re friends- isn’t that a good enough reason to want to be around you?”
“I don’t believe you.”
You scoff. Sometimes, you forget how sensitive his ego is. “Well, it’s true.”
“Don’t lie to-“
“I’m not lying! God, why is it so hard to believe that I enjoy being with you? That I like you?”
He goes silent, and you stare at each other- both with fierce determination in your eyes.
“I know that you don’t always get along with them… and you’re different from them, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be friends, you know.”
“Well, you look really happy with them.”
“I’m happy with you, too.”
At that moment, Sanji rings the lunch bell, and Luffy and Usopp dash through the hall between you and Law. Usopp shouts, “Out of the way, lovebirds!” and you can’t help but giggle despite being in the midst of some sort of argument.
Law nods in their direction. “Go have fun.”
But, before he can walk away, you grab his hand. “Not without you.”
He would scowl if he weren’t so caught off guard by the feeling of your hand around his. With some grumbled reply, he complies, and trails after you all the way to the kitchen/dining room for lunch.
When you walk in and take your seat at the table, food is already being served. Law is right behind you (as he often is nowadays), so nobody pays the two of you much mind for being a little late. Sanji finishes serving everyone their plates, and the chatter begins to flow naturally once you’ve all taken the first bites of his delicious food. Law loosens up a little after a few minutes- it’s hard to stay angry when you eat Sanji’s food, after all. He makes a comment under his breath, hoping to clear the air between the two of you.
“This is nice.” You think he’s stating the obvious- Sanji’s food is always nice- as some cheap shot at an apology for his standoffish behavior. Then he adds, “Good food, too.” Law hopes that you’ll understand what he’s trying to say; “I don’t hate your friends, and I’m going to be better at getting along with them, for you.”
Luckily, your ability to read between the lines makes up for the lack of clarity in his apology. It still brings a bright smile to your face though, which grows into a grin after you reply. “It is, isn’t it?”
He simply smiles back at you and nods, a weight taken off his shoulders at the assurance you’re no longer at odds with him.
Robin takes notice of the quiet exchange, and decided to poke fun in her usual eerily-observant way; “You seem to be adept at making y/n smile, Law.”
Nami agrees, and adds on to the teasing; “Awww look! They have hearts in their eyes!”
Law’s cheeks flush as you launch into animated banter with Nami, but he still smiles to himself as he eats. Maybe it’s not so bad, learning to fit into your life alongside your crew family. The archeologist and navigator are right that you do seem especially happy around him, he had just been too preoccupied with how that happiness compares to the way you are with them. Still, it seems they had all taken notice of the increasingly obvious affection growing between the two of you. So, Law would learn to be more accommodating of your people- and to be less jealous (not that he ever was jealous, that’s just silly), rather than force you to favor one or the other.
After all, they were rooting for his relationship with you just as much as he was.

I need more siblings! reader and ONE PIECE character head cannons
A/n I’m tired and there’s probably a bunch of mistakes but I don’t care lol- I just need more found family stuff- this is the first time I’ve posted anything like this so yeah! Please tell me if there’s any mistakes or stuff I’m not to familiar with tumblr so I don’t know how to make it look nice :P
Whitebeard pirates
Like imagine being the youngest in a crew; you call white beard ‘gramps’ instead of pops. And he constantly dotes on you and tells you stories of his past adventures
Depending on how old you are (10-13), he encourages you to explore, isn’t offended if you want to travel the world someday on your own, and doesn’t want you to feel pressured by the white beard name. Probably tells you lots of stories and gets his sons to help teach you how to sail and learn different things to see what you are interested in.
* (14-16) if you decide to sail on your own, he’s happy and supportive! You’ll probably find that someone from the crew isn’t *too* far behind you, though, always making sure you are safe and out of trouble. If you decide to stay with a white beard, it’s a fight between the division commanders to see who gets you in their troop!
* Just-
* Father figures Marco and thatch-
* Thatch is always trying to one-up Marco and teach you cooking, while Marco wants to introduce you to medicine-
* Extensive cuddle sessions cause you fall asleep????
* Big brother! Ace who is over the moon with having a little sibling, telling you stories about him when he was younger and his brothers
* Brother! Ace is always helping you with pranks and Shenanigans
* And don’t even get me started on the boys protecting you if need be-
* I can imagine white beard having you stay on the ship in case of a battle, but if it’s like a thing where you're on an island and suddenly get swamped by marines, I can imagine
* Ace is coming to rescue you while Marco checks you over for injuries
* Just feeling so protected by your found family and thatch carry’s you back to the ship on his shoulders
Straw hat pirates
* I can see this going a few different ways- so I’m going to do it based on characters rather than scenarios-
* Luffy was used to being the youngest sibling- but being older than you and your captain ignited a special spark in him
* Will goof off- but safely? If that makes sense??
* Like walking on the railing of the sunny but his arms are around your waist to make sure you don’t fall-
* Sneaking into the kitchen to get snacks and he goes first, so if Sanji and Nami set up a trap, he gets stuck instead of you-
* Will make sure your hold on him is secure before he slingshots ya’ll anywhere
* Also!!! Special hat privileges???
* Seeing you in his hat reminds him of when shanks gave the hat to him when he was a kid- and he understands why shanks gave him the hat kind of?
* Feels like he’s passing on the torch :)
* Zoro is the protective level headed older sibling
* Not afraid to tattle to Nami if he catches you stealing from the pantry-
* Definitely a tough-love kind of brother-
* But when ya’ll are in town or on an island, he lets you hold his hand and guide him (even if you probably get him just as lost as he would have gotten you-)
* Makes sure you know how to take care of yourself in a fight if he isn’t there to protect you, which is RARE-
* If ya’ll are on the ship and you need to nap? Go to this man right here-
* Big brother cuddles are top-tier.
* Fights with shitty cook over who’s the best big brother-
* I feel like Sanji, Nami, and robin will make all kind of act similarly to a crew member who they see as a little sibling
* Spoilers but their childhood?
* Not good-
* They’re going to make sure you get the best out of your childhood- be its fantastic food and sweets from Sanji
* Learning about your special interests and gardening with Nami
* Or braiding robins hair and telling stories
* These three are the best to go to when you want to feel like a kid instead of a pirate.
Warlords/yonkos
* Mihawk is a dad
* Living up to his dilf reputation (those are head cannons for another day-)
* I can imagine he doesn’t show outward praise- so sometimes, as his kid, you kind of feel like he doesn’t care(?), but in reality, he does, shows it differently
* Did you master a new sword move? He may not pat you on the head or say a good job, but his affection and pride will come the way of
* Taking you to the local village and trusting you to run around and buy things without supervision
* Making your favorite meals
* Easing up on your chores around the castle
* Small but meaningful things like that
Red haired pirates
* …
* I haven’t seen the film red- so-
* Bare with me-
* Being the youngest on the red-haired pirate's ship is like having a bunch of cool uncles who act way too stupid for their age-
* You’re probably the most mature person on the ship despite your age, thanks to benn single-handedly making sure you didn’t turn out like your captain.
* Tbh Benn probably didn’t let shanks interact with you much till he was SURE you wouldn’t imprint on him as some other rubber child has done in the past
* He doesn’t want you to try and stab your eye out.
* Shanks himself is probably the worst when it comes to teasing, be it your height, age, inexperience- literally anything- but he definitely is the person to go to if you need a place to hide/vent
* He knows how to comfort people, so he can tell when you need him in a silly mood or a serious mood. He tries to be more attentive, learning from his past mistakes with other children
* His cape is a 10/10 hiding spot if needed

Obsessed less with Luffy jumping into Zoro’s lap and hugging him (Though I absolutely am saying I want more), and more obsessed with Luffy not eating and saying he’d eat both arms and legs to keep Zoro safe. Like, Sanji just told him Zeff gave Sanji ALL of the food and ate his own leg so Sanji would be okay and Sanji was a child. Like Luffy saying he’d eat both legs and arms for Zoro is INSANE. They’re so soft. Even when I think of my dearest friends I don’t know if I’d even offhandedly say that. Like don’t even worry about doing it, would you offhandedly say you’d eat BOTH arms and legs. I’m so happy insane-for-Zoro Luffy has entered the chat. Bring that fanfic on. I need it. Can you imagine this Luffy dealing with Thriller Bark?! Aaaaahhhhhh

I’ve been thinking more about my idea of the spade pirates coming after Ace and saving him from Blackbeard
So they get to him on Banaro island. They can’t beat Blackbeard but they can retreat. And Ace is mad because he hates running from a fight. But also Teach said he’s going to kill Luffy. Ace didn’t stop him and now he’s going to go after Luffy.
Deuce and the others are reassuring him. Better to live another day, we can get to Luffy first. Deuce is treating Ace while Mihar and Skull and navigating them away from Banaro and towards Water 7.
And Ace is furious but for so many reason. He’s angry he couldn’t beat Teach. That he couldn’t avenge his friend. There’s still the anger of Teach’s betrayal in the first place. But there’s also fear. He’s going after Luffy. Luffy who fights with his fist. If he touches Teach will that activate Teach’s devil fruit and take Luffy’s powers? He knows Teach’s powers take a devil fruit users ability when he touches them but does it work the other way around? He’s not sure, he had kept all of his attack from a distance just to be safe, but Luffy can’t do that. He physically hits his opponents. If Ace couldn’t beat Blackbeard when he has three years of experience on Luffy, how will his little brother hold up?
He’s hardcore spiraling. All he wants to do is turn back and fight. He knows how to fight, and he hates worrying. If Teach is defeated then there’s nothing to worry over.
“Stop that.” Deuce tells him. “You’re hurt and you don’t have a plan. Turning back is just going to put you in the same position as before. We’ll beat him to Water 7, meet up with your brother and come up with a plan. A real plan this time. Not you running off with no idea where you’re going.”
And that’s another thing Ace is angry about. The fact that his old crew is here. The fact that his actions put all of them in danger to. Cause Deuce is right. He ran off with no plan other than find Blackbeard and avenge Thatch. But he had been operating under the belief that Blackbeard wasn’t any stronger then he was on Whitebeard’s crew. He hadn’t planned for the devil fruit he ate to be such an issue.
But Deuce and the others get through to him, a bit, but he’s still going to blame himself for most of this.
They get to Water 7 and rush to find the Stawhats. Ace hasn’t seen Blackbeard’s ship anywhere near them on their travels but that doesn’t mean he isn’t here. (Though the town being in one piece is a little reassuring that they won the race here) Luckly the whole town seems to be all to happy to tell them about the amazing pirate crew who just saved the mayor’s life, beat the government, destroyed Enies Lobby, and threw the party of the century. Ace is both impress with his brother and also flabbergasted at the towns people who just point them in the direction of where the Strawhats are staying. Like no questions on who Ace and the others are, they could be here to kill the Strawhats and these people are just happily showing them the way. (Once again he’s desperately hoping they beat Blackbeard because these people just gave his brother away)
They make it to the Galley-La company right after Zoro’s speech about Usopp. They just finished having the conversation about how when they leave tomorrow Usopp can join them, but only if he apologizes first. When the doors are violently thrown open.
The crew whips around, some hoping it’s Usopp being dramatic. (Luffy and Chopper) others worried about Marines (Zoro, Sanji, Nami, and Robin) but it’s neither, its Ace making an entrance.
“ACE!!!” Luffy launches himself at his brother. Why is he here? Who cares! Ace is here!
Ace is so relieved as Luffy rockets into him. His rubbery arms wrapped around him several times, and Ace holds on just as tight. His three crew members are behind him, the rubbery body is a bit of a shock to see even though Ace had told them in advance. They’re all relieved that they beat Blackbeard to Ace’s brother.
After a second of just holding his brother and breathing in his relief, listening to Luffy babble a mile a minute, Ace finally pulls back. “It’s good to see you Lu. But we need to talk.” Ace tells them all about the hunt for Blackbeard. There are quick introductions between the crews, Ace asking after Usopp and hearing about the lose of the Merry. His heart drops. They don’t have a ship. They don’t have a ship! They need to leave NOW, before Blackbeard gets here. And they don’t have a ship. The ones the Spades chased him down on is fast but small, the whole crew won’t fit and Luffy would never leave them, Ace would never ask him to.
“Good thing Franky’s almost done with our new ship.” Robin reads the panic in the four new comers faces and easily reassures them that their ship is almost ready. It’s a tense night. People are taking watch incase Blackbeard Arrives and even those not on watch are barely sleeping.
The only one who’s sleeping well is Luffy, leaning against his brother. Ace can’t sleep and sat down to take watch, Luffy sat right beside him and fell asleep against him. Who could hurt him when Ace is here? A sentiment. Ace will do anything to keep true. Honored and touched by his brother’s trust.
The next morning is chaos. The Franky family shows up to tell them about the ship being ready but also the bounties. Ace is so proud of his brother and his crews new bounties! But then the Franky family shows them Franky’s bounty and beg them to take Franky with them. Luffy’s already decided that though. They head down to see their new ship.
Ace love it. He can’t think of a better ship for his little brother. It’s colorful and the perfect size for a small crew (Luffy has only ever wanted a ten person crew and right now Ace and his friends are pushing them over that limit, not that Luffy minds)
Mihar and Skull go to their smaller boat and bring it along side the new strawhat vessels. They can leave the boat here but they had found Stricker before they found Ace and had brought the boat along with them this far. Strikers coming along. (Franky probs stores it in ones of the bays)
The chaos of getting Franky to join occurs and boy I can’t imagine how Ace, Deuce and the others respond to watching Robin’s…. persuasion.
They get going, Ace knows Luffy wants to wait for Usopp but his own anxiety is getting to him. If Blackbeard catches up they’re in trouble. They still have yet to come up with a solid plan for fighting the man. Ace never thought he’d be happy to see Garp throwing cannon balls at them but what can he say it’s been a crazy few days.
Zoro tells the Spades to sit this one out. After all they don’t want to give Ace’s presence away to the marines (even if it’s Garp) might make it look like the Strawhats have an alliance with the Whitebeard pirates. Plus he and the crew kinda want to show off. They’ve gotten better since Alabasta. Luffy’s all in for showing off to Ace.
So the spades sit out of the chaos. Usopp arrives and everything feels like it’s going alright. Usopp’s so confused why Ace and these strangers are here, and wait…. Is that a sniper? Did Luffy replace him already? No it’s Mihar, they’ll explain later.
Garp’s getting to be a little much and Ace is about to offer assistance when he sees it…..Blackbeards ship heading for them. He did say he was going to kill Luffy as a favor to the marines. And who better to impress then Garp the Fist, Hero of the Marines. Blackbeard couldn’t think of a better set up. (He has no clue how crazy their family tree is)
Ace freezes and starts to panic because what can they do. If Blackbeard locks on to Luffy, he can pull him to his boat and Ace won’t get there in time. How far is Blackbeard range? He seemed to still be getting a hang of it, but how far is it? Should Ace jump to his ship and fight him there, no matter the consequences.
He’s about to make a dumb decision when Deuce grabs him “don’t you dare-”
“Everyone hold on to something” Franky calls “Coup de Burst!” And the ship rockets forward. All the spades are shocked. The ship is flying. They just avoided Garp’s giant ball and chain and Blackbeard all in one maneuver. They made it out. Bought some time. Ace can figure out how to handle Blackbeard. He also gets to adventure with his brother for a bit.
They den den call Whitebeard and set up a rendezvous at Sabaody.
The adventure continues.

hello!! ₍₍ ◝( ゚∀ ゚ )◟ ⁾⁾
How are you writer-sama?? (or do you prefer chan?)
I have a request for u! (ノ0)ノ💌
How do you think this introverts: Zoro, Law and Ace (kinda introv?) Would act with their s/o once they're "comfortable enough" with them? cuz I feel like their s/o would have some kind of "privileges" (?) and a somehow "different treatment"?? if you know what I mean (◕દ◕)
bc i think that at a certain point of the relationship they will already know and have already seen all of their different sides and aspects and so they accept them wholely (is that a word?) 😔 so they naturally feel more at ease and kind of lower more their defensive side with them.. 🥺
I hope it's clear 😭 and of course if you want to do it love! It can be a headcanon maybe?and preferably a fem!reader?
Sending love~💚
BYE BYE !! ⋋✿ ⁰ 0 ⁰ ✿⋌
Hello my darling-sama!!! I have been okay; I hope you are doing well and are staying safe. Sending my love to you
I love this request sm I fricken love my boys <3
Introvert Relationship Headcanons
(Ft. Zoro, Law, and Ace)
(SFW)
Tumblr media
Zoro
When he is first dating his S/o he is very blushy and nervous to be around them especially when it’s official and everyone knows about them. Isn’t quite used to showing or receiving affection so is a bit of a mess
Takes a while to be open with his S/o and not be so on guard all the time
After becoming more comfortable with the idea that his s/o is actually his own, he will warm up and actually open up to them
Pre time skip he is happy to openly show small moments of affection such as letting his S/o have their hand on him while guiding him around or leaning in close and chatting to them with a big goofy smile on his face
After the time skip he is much more stoic and serious than he used to be but when he is alone with his S/o he reverts back to his old goofy and funny self
When he is alone with them it feels like a massive weight is off his shoulders and is able to relax
He is very smiley and laughs/jokes with them - lets a really loud and body shaking laugh out like he used to
Secretly thrives on a mutual connection and communication - opens up a lot with his partner and wishes them to always discuss how they’re feeling so he can improve himself (his version of training his relationship)
Isn’t too affectionate but does like when his partner lies on his shoulder/lap or cuddles up to him
His love language is quality time
Drags his S/o everywhere with him like a little ragdoll that he can toss over his shoulder if they’re resisting
Will always make sure his partner is fast asleep before he is able to relax and sleep himself - this is the only time he is affectionate and allows his partner to sleep in his arms and snuggle into him
Is a lot more vulnerable and isn’t afraid to be “soft” (much like the simpy chef)
Always looking for his S/o and notices when something is wrong or they’re missing - which is huge for this airhead
In saying this, he will listen to them with direction and always knows where he is going if it includes his s/o (if he is with them or needs to get to them)
His S/o is the only person who he trusts to hold or handle his swords when he needs help or assistance in cleaning
His S/o is the only person who can make him smile easy. He just melts away the stubbornness around his S/o which baffles the rest of the crew as they’ve never seen him so happy before
Will give up training or napping to make his s/o happy - will stop everything to give them all his attention
Will only bathe if his s/o tells him to due to his bad stench (protests only if they join him)
His S/o will have to say “I love you” first unless Zoro is very drunk or very sleepy
Law
Won’t initiate the idea of dating unless either drunk or in a very cocky mood
Once in the dating period though he will be more willing to be more involved in conversing that would otherwise be very unlike him with someone he didn’t know well
Looks like he isn’t listening to them but is always taking in what they say and remembers every little detail
Much like Zoro he will take a while to warm up to the idea of being a couple
Once he is comfortable with it though he opens up to more of the affectionate side firstly
Since he is always studying he enjoys having his S/o draped in his lap mindlessly chatting or napping
Will always have one hand on his book and another on his partner either stroking their hair or showing some form of physical affection
Even when comfortable he isn’t as talkative as Zoro or Ace are; is more of the silent type no matter who he is with
Although when he does talk with his S/o he is less resentful of over sharing or coming across as weak as talking to anyone else
His love language is quality time and acts of service
Since he is always busy sometimes he forgets to look after himself so the idea of his S/o bringing him onigiri or a blanket during the night melts him deep down
Will always return the favour - give his s/o his jacket when they’re cold, shares food with them, prioritises their health even if it is something minor
Is more smiley with his S/o but only does this privately behind closed doors - doesn’t want any else to see him “vulnerable”
Smiles at them when they laugh or talk about something they like or make some comment or joke
When his s/o is asleep he is very much into giving them a lot of affection - lots of nose and forehead kisses/back rubs/hair petting
Is a lot more cocky and makes smart ass comments around them to fluster or annoy them (a lot of dirty comments or jokes whispered to them in public)
Is probably into saying mean things jokingly (like “you’re such a pain”) but if anyone else said it about his S/o he won’t hesitate to cut into them (literally)
Acts tough but if his S/o asks him of anything it doesn’t take a lot of persuasion for him to say yes
Will be a lot more hesitant to say “I love you” so his S/o will probably be the first to say it - he will only really reciprocate with blushing or mumbling it back or if they’re asleep
Builds his relationship on trust with his S/o and will never hover over them
Always encouraged them to speak up about their issues so he can guide them both to fix them
Ace
He acts so cocky around everyone else and maybe even still when he’s out with his S/o but once they’re alone he is all mush around them
He won’t need as much time as Zoro or Law to be open with his S/o as even before they’re a thing he will chat away to them almost as if he’s known them his whole life
Lots and lots of pet names that will range from very sweet and cheesy, inside jokes to even the most bizarre words he can string together
“Babe”/“baby”/“my love”/“princess”/“bubba”/“angel”/“my little soggy cereal“/“my lump of wet dirt”
Cannot physically keep his hands to himself - will always have his hands somewhere on his S/o’s body - hand around their shoulder/cuddling them close/hands under their shirt/having them sit in his lap/playing with their hair/holding their hand
Is very soft and “sub” a lot of the time with his words and actions - will literally do anything to please his partner and treat them with every inch of love in his body
Always ALWAYS affectionate both in pubic and private
His love langue is physical touch, quality time and giving gifts
His S/o will always be gifted with sweet items like flowers or little objects that remind him of them
Is the biggest weakling for kisses - every time they kiss this poor boy his legs will literally give out under him
Hates to sleep alone and can only sleep with his partner curled up with him - either big or little spoon he doesn’t mind as long as they’re there
Can and will chat about everything for hours if left to his own accord. And not just little small talk I mean like deep meaningful chats about his life and things he is passionate about and believes in
Will also open up a lot about the grey terminals and his past - even the touchy side with Roger
Is the first person to say “I love you” in a relationship - will just sort of look over at his partner and admire whatever they’re doing no matter what it is and just smile to himself and say it casually
From the beginning he will be open with “gross” behaviour as he would only be with someone he truely trusts not to judge - e. g., he doesn’t care if he burps/farts or anything in front of his S/o
Is very defensive of his S/o and will always standup for them even when they’re not around - the crew knows not to mess with them as Ace can get quiet snappy and aggressive when provoked
A relationship with him is always fun but he can turn serious when it comes to respect and trust - expects his S/o to hold him to the same level as he holds his S/o
Feels very betrayed by people in his past so he will give his all with a relationship and expect it to last and reciprocate his overwhelming feelings
Always try to act happy and cocky in public but is relieved to settle down with his S/o when he is sad and just rest with them - his own safe space

The strawhats dont know that Jimbe shares the other half of Luffys scar.
Word Count: 2,239
The Straw Hats hadn’t expected it, even as they traced inked lines on newspapers, old and faded with time, watched the news and clips of Marineford, brought by an old enemy’s hands.
They knew their captain would be scarred – saw it in the newspaper, the way his face broke with his brother’s body in his arms, saw it in bloody bandages inked with 3D2Y.
They just –
They didn’t know it would be like this.
Luffy’s scar is a red thing, a bloody thing. It’s roughly healed, clearly gone without proper care beyond the initial wrap, and it lays directly over their captain’s chest. An X, cruel and digging into his skin.
(Legends state that Joyboy, the first adventurer, carved an X on to Raftel. That the poneglyphs are his signature, the X that marks all treasure.
Below this X lies their captain’s heart, burned and flayed by the first of a dog.
It is a treasure that should have never been marked.)
He wears it openly, proudly, as if this X was not in the same place of the wound that killed his brother, as if his hand did not reach up to scratch at it, rest on it, hold it when he stared at the horizon. They have had a day to get used to but still –
Still it is a shock, fresh and unwanted.
(Scars have meaning, and scars have purpose. Zoro has two on his ankles and one on his front, two earned in learning, and one in battle. Another is on his eye, a price paid for being a student who aims to take down his teacher. Nami has scars, covered by blue ink, scars that freed her, scars that saved her. Usopp has nicks on his hand, scars in odd places from trying to repair a dying ship, from fighting his captain.
Lessons learned, purposed gained, willingly, voluntarily.
Luffy’s is nothing like that. )
It stares at them, taunts them, bright and red, a reminder that they weren’t there when Luffy was always there for all of them, wasn’t there when he needed them most, as much as it is a reminder of how Luffy’s brother died in his arms, in a war that should have never been.
(Luffy has scars – he heals fast, but not enough to cover burns from molten gold or holes from warlord’s hooks. But nothing is as vibrant as this one.)
But –
Luffy is here.
Luffy is happy. He smiles, bright and fearless, even if there are new shadows in his eyes and more quiet moments then there used to be. He is still just as strong, stronger even, if more protective of his crew. He’s Luffy – their captain, and their future king.
They weren’t there for him, and he doesn’t care if they weren’t because he’s glad they’re safe but –
Jimbe! Luff cries with joy, when they set a course for fishman island, He saved me!
Someone was.
-
Fishman island is a bright, happy place. The sun shines even here, and now, with Hordy and Vander Decken gone, the people shine as well. Joyful, smiling faces against scales and skin, teeth sharp or smooth, are all directed to their princess – now revealed to them – and to the pirates that saved them. There’s cruelty in corners, but not here.
Not now.
(Children run along the sea floor in Straw Hats, calling out attack names and harboring no prejudice.
Later, years later, there will be legends about a man in a straw hat, and joy written on all their faces – cruelty nowhere to be found. A beginning is here – one of hope.)
Not with Luffy lying on Jimbe’s side, bandaged and with his crew surrounding him. The party thrown by King Neptune echoes dimly in the background, melding gently with the chattering of his crew around him. Zoro sleeping on the ground by Luffy, Chopper atop of him, Usopp and Sanji murmuring together as they eat, the rest of the crew standing around, gazing at their captain who has given so much for them – who has just returned to them.
(They move in groups, now, and when Luffy left the party to talk to Jimbe the rest of them followed. It’s been far too long since they’ve been together and they are reluctant to part from each other.
Never again, they whisper, never again.)
Jimbe is new to them but not, there when they weren’t. He’s comfortable with Luffy, even if he is surprised when Luffy slumps against his side, curling under his arm to sleep away his injuries. There’s a terrible sort of fondness on his face as he looks at their Captain, one they all know is reflected on their own faces.
Luffy – he saves people. More than just in body, but in spirit, taking their dreams and shouldering them on his own until they are strong enough to carry themselves. Selfishly selfless, forcing people to rise and chase what every pirate holds dear.
A dream.
Jimbe hasn’t said his yet, but he’ll get there if Luffy has to drag him there kicking and screaming like he’s done the rest of them.
Though… his eyes hold nothing but devotion as he stares at the Straw Hat’s captain, so it’s more than likely he’ll just follow Luffy.
All the way to Raftel.
Luffy utters a quiet snore, burrowing close into Jimbe, bandages falling and revealing a reddened scar, and suddenly the Straw Hats find themselves with a purpose here.
But like in all things, Luffy is the one to make the first move. The way he has tugged on Jimbe’s kimono, has pulled it to the side, displaying the tattoo of the Sun Pirates, red and vibrant and –
A mass of scar tissue, burned and dark against blue scales, in the same shape as their captain’s.
It’s like the world goes quiet as Jimbe readjusts.
Like another weight has been added to the shoulders of those who love Straw Hat Luffy but weren’t there when he needed them most. Like chains, like nails down the throat, a horrible, awful realization that at Marineford, it hadn’t just been Ace who took a hit for their captain.
Jimbe had too.
He doesn’t talk about it, doesn’t seem to notice the way every Straw Hat has paled or gone wide eyed or slacked jawed (for those without visible skin or eyes.) He just quietly adjusts Luffy, hand ghosting over the scar on his chest, and settles back down.
Nami swallows, throat sick. “Jimbe?” She asks, knowing that he’ll answer her if no one else. “You were at Marineford, right?”
(Even in his sleep, slumbering away, Luffy winces at the name.)
Jimbe is quiet for a beat, then – “Aye. And Impel Down.”
“And afterwards,” Robin says smoothly, eyes bright with the knowledge of a historian who scoured every source for information about her captain.
Jimbe nods. “And afterwards, until Rayleigh took over.”
Everything. He was here for everything.
“Then...” Nami swallows and blinks back her tears. “You were with Luffy when A-“ His name feels forbidden. Taboo. “When his brother died.”
“Aye.” Jimbe’s words are soft as he lays a hand on Luffy’s shoulder, gently calming him from the twist his face takes, even asleep. “I was.”
Nami wants to ask what happens. She wants to know, wants to hold her captain, wants to say It’s okay, wants to know what hurt him so he will never hurt again, and Jimbe can give her these answers but –
The past doesn’t matter aboard their ship of dreams. Luffy had not listened to her story, not until she wanted to tell him herself. He had freed her from her chains, took her by the hand and led her to the horizon that she could map all her own.
Her throat closes up when she thinks about trying to learn his hurts, when he knew not to bother her own.
She can’t do that.
She can’t.
Instead, she lets her lips remain loyally closed as she watches the way Jimbe cradles their captain, as if he was the most precious thing he could think of.
(And really this man – who had conquered gods and armies and kings, yet still smiled so gently at his nakama and the sea breeze – he is.)
But Jimbe speaks anyway, and it’s not a betrayal of loyalty because he was there, when none of them were.
“I knew Ace, before Marineford.” They all hide flinches at the name. Jimbe gives them a somber gaze, and moves on. “We battled, before he joined Whitebeard’s crew and afterwards were friends. I refused to fight in Marineford for his sake, and was instead bound in Impel down, in the same cell as him. There… he told me about his little brother.” His gaze, impossibly, turns even softer. “He would just chatter on… smiling, in the face of death, as he told me about how reckless this boy was. How foolish. How loyal.” He tilts his head back up to the sky then. “He asked me to take care of his little brother.”
Nami’s heart stops. Usopp gasps. Sanji drops his plate. Chopper starts crying. Zoro’s eyes flash open for the first time.
(Under the hot sun of Alabasta, on a ship aboard a river, a man with freckles and a smile had asked, A little brother like that makes a big brother worry - Take care of him for me, okay?
They failed.)
“I failed,” Jimbe says, simply, but his words are draped in pain and agony, as his hand rises to his chest again, in a similar motion to what their captain has done, several times since they have reunited. “And that can never be forgiven.”
“But you were there,” Robin says, just as simple, her voice cracking. “And you saved our captain – didn’t you?”
Jimbe’s hand loosens its hold. “Ace had just died. We were running from Akainu and… I was holding Luffy. My own body was not enough to shield him – I failed-“
“Stop.” Zoro’s words silence the room, accept for Luffy, snoring gently into Jimbe’s side. “You were there, Jimbe.” He gets on to his knees, sword laying across his slap as Chopper is pushed to the side. “We were not. Thank you, for saving him.”
And then – Zoro, future world’s greatest swordsman, the pirate hunter, the demon – he bows, low to the ground, in a gesture of thanks.
It is brief, and quick, but Nami follows instantly, folding over in thanks as the rest of the crew does the same.
This is their crewmate – their future crewmate, from what he told Luffy – who was there when they were not, and took a blow for Luffy straight through his chest that would have otherwise been fatal.
Without Jimbe, their captain would not have had a chance to live.
What is a moment, bowed over, to something as insurmountable as that?
“I – please, do not bow to me!” Jimbe rushes to say, stuttering, eyes wide when Nami looks out. One hand is held out while the other, always protective, lays around Luffy’s shoulder. “It was my duty to do so, my responsibility, same as any of you. Luffy – he’s the man who will become King of the Pirates. To follow him is enough thanks.” His words ring loud. Ring true.
This is the man Luffy wanted on his crew for two years.
Nami can see why.
His faith – the faith that moves seas, moves mountains, changes the world, the faith in one straw hatted man – that’s the faith of all her crew,
She wasn’t sure about Jimbe.
(He had been the cause of so much of her pain – but he didn’t choose to hurt her. He would never, now.)
She is now.
Zoro, ever the leader, ever the loyal first mate, looks up and settles back down. It reminds Nami so much of Water 7, except here their entire crew is present, and here, they will not be fractured ever again.
(She will make sure that happens – by any means necessary.)
“It is our responsibility.” Zoro acknowledges. “We grew stronger over these past few years, on our captain’s orders – did you?”
His single eye pierces Jimbe, and Nami can see him swallow. But he stares back, unafraid, a true helmsman always following the course.
“Aye,” Jimbe says, and the tension is shattered by Luffy turning entirely over in his sleep, shirt shifting to display his scar, but his face entirely peaceful.
They ease back into their conversations, debts settled, crewmates thanked and now equals. It’ll be a few minutes before Luffy is up, running for adventure with them following on his heels but for now –
Now, the savior of their captains rests easy with Luffy by his side, and everything is okay.
(Later, months later, after Wano and after Whole Cake and after Emperors, Nami will see Luffy sit up at night as they all camp out in the aquarium. He will clutch his chest, and curl in on himself, deadly quiet and pale. His fingers will dig in, and dig in, and dig in, and all Nami will do is watch until –
Jimbe sits up and catches Luffy’s hand in his own, his other mirroring Luffy’s position and clutching at his own scar. He will say breathe, and Luffy will breathe, and –
Their captain will be strong, surrounded by those who were not there, and smiling, if dimly, at the one who was.
And, for once, matching scars won’t hurt as bad.)

"We have to have sex to keep warm" fic. Stranded on a winter island in sub-zero temperatures. Zoro/Usopp or Sanji/Nami.

More Nami/Sanji [June 16 2008, 01:48:33 UTC]
Though Anon liked the depressing Freezerburn, Anon still wanted to try to write something for this prompt~ Hopefully this is less harsh on poor little Sanji-kun :p Aslo, first fic, english not Anon's first language, blah blah blah... ------------------- "I can't believe they left without us..." Shoulders slumped, dejected. Annoyed. "For the last time, Sanji-kun, they have to get rid of the marines chasing the Sunny then they'll come back for us." Grabing his hairs, nearing panic-state. "But how will they do that without their wonderful navigator?!" Calm, waving a hand in dismisal. "Robin and Franky are with them so I wouldn't worry. They should be back by morning." Turning her back to the sea. "Sanji-kun, find us a safe place for the night." "HAAAII NAMI-SWAN!!" Happiness returned. ***
The small abandonned shack efficiently cuts the freezing wind but unfortunately lacks a fireplace, which is a ridiculous thing on a winter island. She's sitting against the wall, feeling a bit cold but it's bearable. "Sanji-kun, what's that noise?" "M-my t-teeth ch-ch-chatt-tering, N-Nami-s-san." Trembling, curled on himself next to her, puffing on his last cigarette. She looks at his coat covering her legs, feeling a tad guilty but he offered it to her so it's his fault... Throwing the coat at him. "Take it back." The air is cold on her bare legs. Taking mental note to never wear a skirt on a winter island ever again. Pleasantly surprised. "Nami-san is so generous!" He slips his arms into his coat, feeling instantly better because Nami-san's concern for his comfort warms his heart. *** She's rubbing her hands vigorously along her thighs, trying to keep feelings in them, pointedly ignoring the blond chef next to her who's nursing a bump on his head after suggesting one too many time to warm her with his body. *** Shyly. "Nami-san?" Trying again because she really does look cold and he is too and he's not even having ungentlemanly hidden motives anymore... Almost. Knowing they're still stuck there for a few much too long hours, she sighs, giving in. Without warning, she straddles him. "Try anything and I kill you." Unzips his coat then slips her arms under it and around his torso. Blushing, hesitantly wraping his arms around her. "Hai Nami-san." Yelping when she buries her face in the crook of his neck. "Ah! Your nose's cold!" Smiling. "Are you complaining, Sanji-kun?" Teasing. Shaking his head, hearts in his eyes. "NOT AT ALL! Far from me such an idea!" Presses her body against his. "Good." *** He's feeling much warmer now. Blaming the ungentlemanly thoughts that are back and stronger than ever and he can't help it because his beautiful Nami-san is wriggling against him. She's starting to think that sharing body warmth was a good idea but her legs are still cold and maybe if she could get him to radiate some more heat it'd be enough. Shouldn't be too hard... He tenses when her hand reaches between their bodies and skilfully unzips his pants despite being wearing mittens. "N-Nami-san?" And here he had been hoping she hadn't noticed his predicament but of course his beautiful goddess is far too clever. Fearing her rightful wrath and his imminent castration. "I'm so sorry Nam-" She shuts him up with a kiss, telling herself it's only because it's another way of fighting the cold. *** His burning hands are slowly caressing her thighs even though she ordered him not to try anything. She decides to forgive him this offence because she really is generous and because he looks like it's already taking all of what's left of his rationnal mind to not do more than that. Congratulating herself for her ingenious plan to keep warm, she rolls her hips once more, drawing another moan out of him. *** It's dawn and Luffy is joyously waving at them from the approaching Sunny and she's hopping where she stands, willing them to hurry and pick them up so she can get a hot bath because she's got cold again since leaving the shack (and Sanji's embrace). She looks at him and his cheeks are still bright red and he doesn't look like he's freezing at all. It's so unfair.

He could feel the scowl pulling the corners of his lips down… feel his remaining eye  narrowing to a slit as his irritation begin to rise.
The stupid cook always riles him up—even more so when he is twirling around madly like the lunatic that he is… crooning praises at any woman who tickles his fancy.
Like what he is doing right now at the orange-haired navigator as their group headed towards Zoro’s.
That… annoys him even more.
His scowl automatically deepened. And his face scrunched into a more infuriated expression as he folded his arms across his chest.
The low growl that escaped his throat made Usopp—who was standing beside him, waving enthusiastically at the approaching group—flinch.
When the sniper saw his face, he cowered and promptly scooted away from him to a safe distance.
He continued to glare at Nami, who was smiling amusedly and was surprisingly tolerant of the twirling pest around her.
Why do they have to bring that shitty cook back?
Nami’s eyes met his and the amused smile on her lips turned into a vicious smirk when she saw his expression.
Zoro glowered at her when she deliberately continued basking at the attention swirly brows were showering her, going as far as affectionately patting the cook’s cheek.
It made the perverted kappa swoon and made a vein tick between Zoro’s already furrowed brows.
The cheeky witch really knows how to push his buttons.
“Why so grumpy Zoro?” She asked when she was finally near him.
“Shut up witch.”
“Ah. Not happy to see me?”
“...”
That catty grin again.
Trust him. Nami will definitely get what she deserves later.
When they’re finally alone.

Whump-/Flufftober- Day 10: Pillow Fight
Nami, Robin and Inari were sitting in their room, getting ready for bed. Robin was gently braiding Inari’s hair into two braids with her devil fruit powers as Inari herself was close to dozing off. She was wearing one of Sanji’s shirts. Asking just once had been enough. In fact, she had not even finished the sentence when Sanji had already started taking off his shirt. It was a weird request, Inari knew that, and had she asked anyone other than Sanji, she would have not gotten her way, but she missed wearing her siblings’ shirts and the happy, safe feeling she got from it. She sighed and buried her face in the collar, breathing in the scent of cigarettes and seafood. She had only been with the crew for a few weeks, but the smell already had a profound association in her mind. Of course, she associated it with Sanji himself. With his cooking skills, his protective nature, his chivalry, his kindness. But, right now, there was another association. It reminded her of home. Of making sushi in the grand kitchen, being told that she would be Minister of Sushi once she was old enough. Of Amande, her older sister who had acted like a second mother to her and had a habit of smoking. A single tear rolled down her face.
“Inari, what’s wrong?”, Nami asked, looking at her through the dressing table mirror.
Another wave of memories hit Inari. This time of Brulée and her devil fruit, letting her travel through mirrors.
“I’m just homesick”, Inari said quietly. “It’s been a while, you know.”
“I understand”, Robin said softly, tying off the first braid and running her fingers through Inari’s hair to start the second. “I lost my family very early on too. I still think about it sometimes.”
“Do you ever miss them?”
“Of course.”
“But… you don’t really seem like you do. How?”
“I suppose it’s because so much time has passed. But also… I found something new here. A reason to cling on to the present instead.”
“Yeah, these guys are like a second family”, Nami said with a grin. “But that doesn’t mean that your feelings are wrong either. Everyone in the crew has had to leave or lost someone they care about. We understand. And we’re going full sails towards your home. I can’t wait to see your smile when you see your family again.”
Inari smiled. Suddenly, there was an uproar from the room underneath them - the boys’ bedroom.
“Now what are they up to?”, Inari asked confusedly.
“Sounds like they’re having fun”, Robin said with a chuckle.
“Sounds like they’re fighting”, Inari corrected.
“That’s the same thing”, Nami giggled. “But they’re annoying me”, she growled. “I’ll tell them to shut up.”
“Wait, I’m coming too”, Inari said quickly.
“Just because you’re bound to me, doesn’t mean you have to follow me everywhere, remember?”
“Yeah, but I want to. I can’t sleep like that!”
Robin’s extra hands disappeared into petals. The second braid was also done. She raised herself from the bed elegantly.
“Let’s see what they’re up to then.”
Nami opened the door to the boys’ room. Immediately, the dampened shouting became very clear. The room was a mess. Pillows were flying all over and Zoro and Sanji were rolling across the floor, fighting, pulling each other’s hair…
“Be quiet, you idiots!”, Nami shouted, but nobody heard her.
Robin laughed. Inari just stood there with wide eyes. Out of nowhere, a stray pillow landed directly in her face, so surprisingly that she stumbled backwards into Robin’s arms. Angrily, Nami picked up the pillow and hurled it in the direction it had come from, knocking Chopper off his bunk bed. Only seconds later, she was completely involved in the pillow war, throwing pillows at everyone who looked at her funny like a wild cat.
“What are they even fighting about?”, Robin asked amusedly, still standing in the doorway with Inari.
“I don’t know”, Inari said, a grin spreading across her face, “but I’m joining!”
She rolled underneath the barrage of pillows, grabbed one off the floor and tossed it at Franky.
“Yo, Inari!”, he called with a smirk. “Are you challenging me?”
“Maybe”, Inari said playfully.
Just as Franky grabbed a pillow with his large hand, he was hit in the face by one himself.
“If you want to hit Inari, you’ll have to go through me”, Sanji announced. It seemed he had not gotten to put on a new shirt yet. He was covered in red spots from brawling with Zoro and rolling across the floor. “Nobody hits a lady in my presence. I-”
Sanji was cut short by Zoro whacking him over the head with a pillow.
“And who’s gonna stop me hitting you, curly-brows?!”
Just like that, they were back to just focusing on each other. Feathers were starting to fly out of the pillows, whirling through the room like large snowflakes. Inari laughed. This pillow fight was a free-for-all. Seemingly, no one seemed to have a specific enemy - except for Zoro and Sanji of course. Even Robin joined in - taking not a single hit thanks to shielding herself with her powers. Finally, Usopp was the first one to call for a time-out, Chopper following right after. Inari dropped to the floor, panting in exhaustion and laughing. She had never been in a pillow fight this intense before.
They’re really like siblings, aren’t they? Siblings… Maybe Nami was right. If I could pick anywhere to be except home… this would be it.
“So… what was this even about?”, Inari asked, chuckling in-between words.
“Luffy doesn’t want to keep watch tonight”, Chopper answered, halfway buried under the blankets in one of the bunks.

Strawberry Kisses
Summary: The reader has new Chapstick and Sanji can’t figure out the new flavor.
Character(s): Vinsmoke Sanji
Song Inspiration: Strawberry Kisses by Olivia Herdt
Word count: 2.6k
Notes: tbh I’m not sure how I feel about this but imma post it anyways. When I was writing it I was reading Host Club sooo Sanji might act a bit like Tamaki because I can’t help see them as the same person 😭
━━☆⌒*.
It’s the same routine for every morning. Sanji would wake up early to cook breakfast for the crew while he leaves his lover asleep. He would love to wake her up to have someone to talk to this early in the morning but he knows well enough not to wake Y/n this early in the morning. The blonde cook lingers in bed for a moment longer looking down at his sleeping lover. They didn’t have a big bed but that didn’t seem to matter, they were all upon each other. Y/n was curled up into his chest while one of his arms draped over her hip. It was a good thing the 2 of them don’t move much when they sleep. Sanji pulled her closer and watched her steady breathing. Her h/c hair was an absolute mess and her mouth hung open, leaving a small trail of drool onto the pillow. Saying she looked like a mess would be an understatement but that what he loves about her.
Sanji felt so bad leaving. He didn’t want to leave her alone but someone’s gotta cook the food for their rowdy crew. With one last squeeze, which caused a small groan to escape from Y/n’s lips, Sanji softly kissed her exposed forehead and finally began to his day. An hour without Y/n is never that bad. And soon enough an hour came and gone like it was nothing. One by one his crew mates began to fill the kitchen. Sanji finished up the last of the food preparation, making sure to leave a small port soon to the side for Y/n. She’s always the last one to wake up in the morning, and because the food never last longer than 5 minutes, he always make sure Y/n has food before anyone else. Y/n finally made it to the lively kitchen, upon seeing her still half asleep mood his face lit up. She just as beautiful as ever, even if her hair looks like it hasn’t been brushed in days. Sleep still clouded her actions as she stumbled her way to the hip of her lover. It took her a while for her eyes to adjust but once they did and landed on Sanji, her face lit up.
“Mornin’!” Y/n giggled, pressing herself up against the male wanting to feel his body warmth again. Sanji scoffed at the action as her took on of his arms and snaked it around her waist.
“Did you sleep well, princess?” Sanji questioned as he leaded down and gave her a small peck on her lips. Y/n scrunched up her nose for the early morning touch before she smiled and returned the peck.
“Amazing, as always.” She sighed, wiggling out of his grasp so she can finally eat breakfast. The 2 of them has been dating for a while. And of course, that doesn’t mean didn’t have a rocky start. With Sanji’s obsession with girls it was bound the be a struggle. Luckily, the love Y/n felt for him was strong enough to look past it. They had worked though it and seeing how Sanji‘s obsession with girls isn’t gonna stop anytime soon, Y/n trust Sanji not to do anything (thankfully Y/n doesn’t get jealous easily either). Surprisingly, it’s been smooth sailing so far, give or take.
With Sanji being a passionate lover and all, it was also no surprise that he knew almost everything about Y/n. From her favorite foods (duh) to her secrets to and even when it was her time of the month. It was creepy but in a nice way. And so it’s safe to say that he also knows what her kisses taste like. In the morning her kisses always taste like mint because of the chapstick she puts on after brushing her teeth. It was probably the best thing in the world to the lovesick cook, he had easily got use to it when they started dating. However this morning was different, she didn’t taste like the normal mint, she tasted fruity. His blue eyes trailed over to his lover who now sat at the table with the others, talking about todays plans. With the flavor still lingering on his lips, he continued to try and figure out what the flavor could be. His eyes watched as her glossed lips curled into a smile, as if she was teasing him. Taking a moment to try and figure out what the flavor is himself, he let out a soft hum as he joined Y/n at the table. At first she didn’t bother to look over seeing how she was enjoying her conversation with Usopp and Nami, but once Sanji’s large hand rested on her thigh, she glanced over at him. Sanji did not waste a minute, once Y/n looked over at Sanji, he attcked her lips once again. She let out a small yelp from the sudden action and placed her hand on his chest to try and push him back.
Nami and Usopp, who were both having a conversation with Y/n simply rolled their eyes at the couple before continuing their conversation without her. It common to find Sanji doing those type of things. Random kisses and hugs, random burst of ‘I love you’, cheesy date nights. It doesn’t take a genius to learn he’s a hopeless romantic. Of course that doesn’t stop the crew from reacting themselves. Zoro would complain about it, Nami and Usopp would yell at him for when he gets to cheesy, or when he makes Y/n embarrass, or does it at an inapporapte time, and Robin, Franky and Brook would always comment on how flustered Y/n ends up getting. Even if it does annoy the others and makes Y/n embarrassed sometimes, they all know he means well. Finally Y/n efforts of pushing against him payed off. Sanji finally back off of Y/n giving her space and her mouth back so she can eat. Catching her breath, Y/n looked at Sanji with her eyebrow raised, “What’s this about?”
“Your chapstick...It’s different.” Sanji muttered, trying to focus on the flavor. He was a cook for god’s sake and he can’t even figured out a the flavor of Y/n chapstick even if it is artificially flavored. Adrianna saw the look of confusion on his face as he was deep in thought. It was rare to see Sanji like this, normally he would swoon over it and make those weird faces but this time was different. His swirled eyebrows furrowed together and his blue eyes staring at her lips, hoping to get an answer. It was one of the very rare moments when Sanji’s actually cute.
“Yeah, I ran out of the other one. You like it?” Y/n giggled, as she turned back to her food.
“I’m not sure. What flavor is it?”
“Hmm.” Y/n hummed wondering if she should tell him or not. There were pros and cons of telling him and not telling him. If she doesn’t tell him then she can see this rare cute side of Sanji that she doesn’t get the see often but if she doesn’t tell him then she has no idea what is gonna happen if she doesn’t. The last time Y/n tried, keyword tried, to tease Sanji they end in the bedroom for the rest of the night. It safe to say it was a long night that night. But on the other hand, Y/n doesn’t get to see Sanji cute like this often, so even if they end up in the bedroom, it would be worth. A small smirk played on her lips as she looked back up and Sanji, “I’m not telling..”
ミ☆
Y/n was surprised she was able to last this long.  Ever since Y/n brought up the challenge, it was like every chance Sanji got the 2 of them were kissing.  When they pass each on the ship, when Y/n asks for a glass of water, even when she was in the middle of training he found some way and excuse to kiss her. What really got to her the most was she never knows what type of kiss it was gonna be: small and quick or deep and passionate. If she knew he was gonna be the egar to figure it out she would’ve just told him. Luckily lunch was right around the corner so Sanji had to spend time preparing food for the others, leaving Y/n alone for a while, even if it’s only 30 minutes. The h/c colored girl was more than happy to take this time to relax with Nami and Robin. Nami was sunbathing and Robin was reading, Y/n also wanted to join Robin in reading however the book she picked laid in her lap, untouched. Instead all she ended up doing it staring off into the distance running a finger along her lips.
“...I think they’re swollen.” Y/n muttered to herself as she dropped her hand to her side and laid down. She clearly bit off more than she can chew. Y/n meant to keep the comment to herself seeing how she got herself into this mess yet Robin clearly heard her.
“Are you feeling ok, Y/n?” She glanced over at her younger friend and questioned. Noticing that Y/n seemed to be lost and thought, Robin didn’t want to bother her so she went back to reading her book until Y/n let out a heavy sign.
“My lips are swollen and it’s only noon. This is not how I’d imagine it.” Y/n explained as she looked over to the other girls.
“You’re dating Sanji, how did you think it was gonna go?” Nami scoffed as she lifted up her sunglasses and looked over at Y/n. Nami was right, she should’ve expected this from the ero-cook but she couldn’t help herself; Sanji looked to cute.
“I know, I know. But Sanji just looked so cute. I mean, when was the last time he looked cute and didn’t make those stupid faces. and plus he knows everything about me, so you can’t blame me for wanting to keep at least one thing a secret from him.” Y/n defeaned then pointed to her lips and exclaimed, “But I never wanted this!!”
“Someone as naïve as you should not be dating someone like Sanji.” Nami shook her head. Her brown eyes had quickly fallen on the certain blonde cook as he made his way over to the 3 of them. Before he approached them he put out his cig and shoved his hand back into his pocket, fiddling with something. Y/n who was leaning back into her chair with her eyes closed didn’t even hear him approach them. Only when Sanji had pushed a few piece of hair out of her face did she jolt awake. Seeing his blue eyes, Y/n took a defensive state waiting to see if he was gonna kiss her again. A soft chuckle left his lips before he looked over at the girls and fell right back into character.
“Nami-sawnn~~ Robin-chwann~~ Lunch is ready~!!” Sanji swooned as he spun in front of the 2. They glanced over at Y/n for a moment but then back at Sanji. Thanking him, they left the 2 alone on the main deck. It was probably the best thing to do for now. Seeing the smirk on his lips when he looked over at Y/n and the way he played with something in his pocket, Nami and Robin had figured that Sanji had finally found the answer to his question. Robin let out a soft giggle while Nami sighed heavily as they made their way to the kitchen. Once the 2 had left the couple alone, Sanji took a seat next to Y/n. She watched him with a close eye, making sure he doesn’t pull a fast one. He let out a chuckle as he finally pulled out what he was playing with in his pocket. Y/n raised an eyebrow as she eyed the object but it didn’t take long before her fact lit up with relief.
“Underneath our pillows is not the best hiding spot.” Sanji stated, placing the tube of chapstick onto the table next to them. “Oh thank god! I was scared you were never gonna find it and this game was gonna go on all day.” Y/n let out a heavy sigh as she adjusted herself in her seat, “Just for the record we are never doing that again.”
“You were the one who started it?”
“Yeah I know, and I was stupid. If you kissed me anymore my lips were gonna fall off.” Y/n pointed to her red swollen lips, “Look. They’re all swollen. Now imma have to put Chopper’s nasty medicine on them.”
“Ohh~ but I couldn’t help myself, Y/n-chwann~~!! Your lips are just so soft and cute~~!!” Sanji swooned as he engulfed Y/n into a hug. She let out a shreak from the sudden hug. As much as Y/n loves Sanji, she is so over him today. From all the kisses Y/n wanted more than to be left alone for a day or 2, however Y/n knows she just can’t get rid of Sanji that easily. Maybe that’s what she loves him so much because no matter what Sanji’s always there, whether she wants him to be or not. From kisses, to laying in bed together, to just enjoying each others company, he’s always with her. Even though Y/n was annoyed with him, she couldn’t help but smile as she squirmed against him.
“S-sanji let go. I wanna eat my food before Luffy does.” Y/n laughed, trying to break free from his grip. However, he wasn’t gonna let go anytime soon.
“You know I always save you a plate.” Sanji loosed his grip on Y/n as his hands fell down to her waist. She decided to stop squirming against him and just enjoy his warmth. They sat in silence for a moment, simply just enjoying each other company and listening to the waves crash against the ship. Moment like these were always the best to Y/n. Doing nothing and just enjoying each other presences, however, seeing how it’s lunch time, Y/n just wants to eat. She squirmed against him once again finally telling him to let go. Y/n had wasted no time making her way to the kitchen either, with Sanji following close behind her.
“So..” Y/n started, grabbing Sanji’s attention. The hum from him had told Y/n she could continue, “Which flavor did you like better?”
“Hmm...” Sanji trailed off, trying to remember the flavor of mint. He was used to the minty flavor but the new fruity flavor wasn’t bad either. Y/n looked up at Sanji trying to read is facial expression to get a hint or something to see what flavor to get next time. Before she could even process the look on his face, Sanji dipped down again and capture Y/n’s glossed lips once again. She gasped once again, surprised that Sanji kissed her again even after she told him her lips were swollen. Luckily the kiss didn’t last long, Sanji pulled back and licked his lips, tasting the flavor of artificial strawberry. Y/n puffed out her cheeks in frustration from the kiss while Sanji finally gave his answer.
“The strawberry flavor isn’t bad. I like that one.” Sanji answered as the 2 of them stopped right in front of the kitchen door.
“M’kay.” Y/n nodded, noting the information, “Good then because after today I'm only gonna switch between these 2.”
“Huh? Your not gonna change it again?” Sanji asked, sounded disappointed.
“Of course not.” Y/n stated as if was common sense. He let out a disappointed sigh at the fact that he wont be able to kiss Y/n that much again but now that he thinks about it, he probably did take it a bit over board. He had good intentions though. Y/n spun around on her heel and faced the door but right before opening it, she glnaced back at Sanji and added on, “Oh and to let my lips heal, not kissing for 2 days. At least!”
“Whaa-! 2 days!? But Y/n-chwan I can’t do that. I gotta kiss you.”
“Well you should’ve thought about before you kissed me every 5 minutes today. You probably have enough kisses from me to last 4 weeks.”

~~
They've been traveling together for a while now. With more additions to the crew, Sanji's no longer the newest member. They leave East Blue, crossing over to the Grand Line. Their voyage continues onward.
Fitting into his role as the second cook of the ASL Pirates was easier than Sanji could have ever hoped, and he knows it's largely due to Thatch. Thatch, who, for all his incredible skill and titles and history, turns out to be...a remarkably normal person. It takes less than an hour for Sanji's awe over Thatch being his childhood idol to turn into pure indignation when the other cook professes his love for Luffy, and now their daily proposals to Luffy with food are just part of routine on the Merry.
(Sanji still knows his cooking is amateur in comparison to Thatch's, but none of their crew seems to realize, and Luffy eats all their food with equal gusto. Even Thatch himself only ever compliments Sanji, often with ridiculous faux outrage that Sanji's cooking looks better, which is absolutely false, Sanji would know. But even so, the man sounds so genuinely offended that Sanji can't help but appreciate the lengths the older man will go to in order to keep Sanji from feeling inferior.)
It's during a rare moment of calm, when the skies are clear and Deuce and Nami seem relaxed about their progress, when Sanji decides there's never going to be a better time to ask. He finishes washing the last of the pastry plates from the desserts the crew had just finished devouring (his hands momentarily pause on a plate that Ace had to pull out of Luffy's throat when she swallowed it whole along with the pastry, and Sanji allows himself a moment of imagining that the plate with her slobber is somewhat like an indirect kiss...), before he exits the kitchen to go to his locker.
From the locker, buried beneath gravure magazines of buxom ladies whose beauty will never compare to Luffy's, he pulls out a magazine far more valuable to him, the only one of its kind that he'd brought with him from the Baratie.
Back up on the main deck, Sanji finds Thatch sitting by the mast while watching Luffy and Usopp play with some new contraption the latter made. He looks up when he senses Sanji's approach, grimacing when the movement makes the wind blow his now loose hair into his mouth.
"I need a hair tie if Marco's not going to send me my damn hair wax," Thatch complains, even as he pats the ground next to him for Sanji to sit.
"You could always ask our lovely navigator," Sanji grunts as he drops down, careful not to fold the magazine, which Thatch has yet to notice.
"Ah, beautiful Miss Nami might have one, but her hair's pretty short...honestly more likely Deuce'll have one." Thatch sulks, because he'd really rather get a hair tie from a pretty lady, but as it is, Thatch probably has the longest hair on the crew at the moment, followed by their first mate. "If only our ladies had longer hair...ah, my darling Seastar with long hair..."
Sanji lets himself get drawn into imagining their most dazzling Lady Captain leaning against the rail of the Merry, sunlight sparkling off the waves in the background paling in comparison to her radiance. Her face is shadowed by her trademark straw hat, before she raises her head, causing long, silky strands to ripple around her like dark angel wings, glittering threads of black diamond dancing across her cheeks before she tucks them behind her ear with a small smile--
Both cooks sigh dreamily in perfect unison.
"Hey Luffy, they're thinking somethin' pervy about you again!" Usopp shouts in the background.
Both cooks ignore him, likewise in perfect synch.
Thatch regretfully pulls out of his Luffy Vision first. "So, you got something to talk to me about?" He knows it can't be about dinner, because they'd already started prepping for that.
Sanji blinks, and oh, there's Luffy, with her short hair, still just as lovely, probably doing something incredibly stupid and dangerous, but that's okay because Sabo's stepping in, and the Revolutionary may be batshit crazy but he won't let Luffy hurt herself--and right, he wanted to talk to Thatch.
He carefully brings the magazine out in front of him, and Thatch leans over curiously. The pages easily fall open to the column, remembering the page Sanji poured over countless times. Sanji hears Thatch's breath hitch.
"This you?" Sanji asks, looking at the faded photo of the smiling boy, before his eyes flick to Thatch.
The older man's eyes are wide, glued to the page. Sanji wordlessly offers him the magazine, and Thatch slowly takes it, his hands handling the paper carefully as though worried it'll crack.
"Yeah, that's me alright," Thatch murmurs, eyes scanning the column before his lips twist into a wry smile. "How the hell did you get your hands on this fossil?"
"Found it while we were looking for stuff for the Baratie's collection, some old second hand shop," Sanji says, and it's not a lie, but it's not like he can admit he was obsessed with them and actually hunted for them after obtaining the first ones.
Thatch makes a low sound of understanding, before he starts flipping through the rest of the magazine, pages that Sanji honestly doesn't even remember. "I wonder if this magazine's still even going..."
"It is," Sanji informs him. "It's changed a lot, but we still get it delivered."
Thatch laughs then, shaking his head as he closes the magazine and hands it back to Sanji with the same care. "I'm sure it has changed, after what happened, oh man..."
Sanji frowns. So something did happen.
"So how did the kid in this end up a Whitebeard pirate?" he asks, but he means, How did the boy's adventure end?
"Mm, you sure you wanna know? It's not a particularly nice story, though I suppose it has a happy end." Thatch leans back heavily against the mast, his hand subconsciously reaching up to brush hair away from his face, lingering on the deep, if old scar around his left eye. Sanji wonders if it's related.
"If it's something you don't mind sharing. I'm sure I can handle it."
They're interrupted by a crash, and look up to see Sabo heaving Luffy up back over the rail by the end of her tail. She'd clearly almost fallen overboard, again, but is laughing as carefree as ever, even as Usopp wrings his hands apologetically behind them. Sabo doesn't look mad though, and is stroking Luffy's hair now that she's safely back on deck and in his arms, his face disgustingly besotted.
Deuce and Nami come out of the cabin at the noise, and Ace and Zoro startle awake from their respective naps as well. Deuce takes one look at what's going on, and launches into a full blown scolding session for all three of the members involved, clearly dissatisfied with the way Sabo handled it. It had only taken the first mate a few days in his company before Deuce had determined that no matter how sensible Sabo may seem at times, he's still Another Stupid Brother, and therefore gets the same treatment.
The rest of the crew listening in winces when Deuce hurls a, "Luffy being stupid is one thing, but you're WAY too lenient with her, you foolish Revolutionary!" Nami and Koala cheer him on in the background.
("Told you," Ace mouths, before hastily looking away when Deuce's gaze snaps to him.)
Usopp looks thoroughly chastised and sincerely sorry, Sabo looks weirdly pleased as though being told he's lenient is a compliment, and Luffy looks bored and is searching for an escape when her gaze lands on the two cooks.
"Thatch! Story time?!" is all the warning they get, before Luffy's arms grab onto the mast behind them and the mermaid torpedoes head-first into Thatch's chest. It's a testament to the Whitebeard Commander's sturdiness that all he does is grunt at the considerable impact, even as Sanji winces in sympathy. That'll definitely bruise.
"Alright, yeah story time, if anyone wants to hear my boring old past," Thatch agrees, and Luffy cheers, turning herself sideways and flopping down on Thatch's crossed legs to look up at him with eyes sparkling with expectation. Sanji isn't even jealous, because in her new position, Luffy's thrown her tail across Sanji's lap, and he begins reverently rubbing circles into her soft scales, heat creeping up his cheeks when her flukes flick with pleasure.
Deuce sighs, giving up on his scolding as everyone gathers around the cooks. But he doesn't seem too disappointed, and pulls out his notebook as he joins them, as though he intends on recording whatever Thatch's going to say. Ace plops himself down on Thatch's other side, ruffling Luffy's hair distractedly and hiding his curiosity poorly. Sanji gets the feeling that despite knowing him for much longer, Ace hasn't heard much about Thatch's past either.
"Well, so..."
~~
Thatch was born to a middle class family in a relatively active port town on the Grand Line. His parents ran a modest diner, certainly nothing high class, but popular enough among the locals to almost always have full seats.
Thatch was what they called a "child prodigy." He'd started helping in the kitchen simply because he wanted to do the same things as his parents, but by the time he was seven, he'd already surpassed both of them in skill. His parents decided to leave the kitchen to him, while they focussed on management.
With Thatch behind the menu, the restaurant's popularity grew, drawing more traffic. Among their visitors were occasional food critics, who spread their business's reputation and made it something of a cult tourist spot.
When Thatch was nine, his father came up with the idea that it might be good publicity, for people to know that a literal child was behind their now famous restaurant's food. And in the name of said publicity, he also decided to have the restaurant officially under Thatch's name, although is parents still managed it.
"Child prodigy chef owns his own restaurant," was definitely a headline that journalists latched onto. The berries were rolling in.
Thatch himself, he didn't really care about that. He rarely ever left the kitchen now, constantly cooking, constantly coming up with new menu items, constantly training new chefs as their once small family diner expanded into a chain. He didn't really mind it, he loved cooking after all, but he often wished he still had time to talk to patrons, or explore town. While there weren't any child labor laws in their country, he couldn't go to school or make friends or do anything a normal child might otherwise enjoy.
So when the largest, most prominent cooking magazine sent a representative to talk about a potential column centered around him, Thatch was hopeful. He'd always dreamed of leaving the island, and it'd never seemed like an achievable dream. He wanted to exposure to new things to expand his cooking repertoire, and he wanted to be able to challenge himself as a cook--but more than anything, he also just wanted go and see what might be out there, outside of his diner's kitchen.
His parents reluctantly agreed. At this point, Thatch had trained enough experienced cooks, and their reputation was established enough that Thatch's temporary absence wouldn't damage them. And Thatch knew his parents were drawn by the potential for greater publicity from the column, and Thatch (and their restaurant) possibly becoming a household name not just on the Grand Line, but across the world.
(Thatch never thought his parents were bad people, or even bad parents. He hadn't wanted for anything, and they let him pursue and nurture his passion. That they were business-minded, and had also come to see Thatch as an asset and publicity tool was something he understood. They still loved him, in their own way.)
His parents' only condition was that Thatch return in a few years, before he was fifteen. A "child prodigy" becomes less interesting with age, and eventually becomes "a normal adult." They wanted Thatch back before that, to reestablish his connection to their diner, before he inevitably faded out of public interest, or had to re-establish his identity as an adult cook.
And so at eleven years old, what seemed like the entire town saw off Thatch, who set sail on a small ship manned by experienced sailors, and chaperoned by the journalist who would be documenting his voyage.
For the first two years, the journey was everything Thatch had ever wanted. They would go to new islands, information provided to him by the journalist, and then he would be given free reign to do whatever he wanted, so long as it included food and cooking, which is what Thatch would have been drawn to do anyway. That there were always a handful of adults a few paces behind him, documenting everything he did and forcing him to voice his thoughts out loud, all eventually faded into the background. Thatch got used to voicing his inner thoughts for their benefit. It was hardly a chore, and Thatch was having the time of his life.
But all things eventually change. Due to the success of the column, Thatch's journalist was given a promotion, and the last stretch of his journey before Thatch was to return to his home island was assigned to a new journalist. Thatch had always known that their relationship was strictly professional, and was used to changing traveling companions at this point. It felt a bit lonely that the first journalist, the only person who had remained a constant, was leaving...but he understood.
It's just business, after all.
The new journalist replaced the old one, and their journey continued--or at least, it was supposed to.
Child!Thatch, adult Thatch would later think, was remarkably naive and sheltered for all that he was a veteran cook. He was used to having things being laid out in front of him on a neat platter, for the adults in his life to control all aspects of his life, conveniently convincing himself that it's what he wanted anyway. He was used to the adults taking care of all the details, because all Thatch had to do to make everyone happy was cook. He not once doubted those responsible for his life, and blindly trusted that they would keep everything smooth and safe for him.
Because when one day, thirteen-year old Thatch woke up to see red staining the walls of the cabin, and then looked around to find the corpses of everyone else on the ship strewn around him, it took a remarkably long time for him to process that this definitely wasn't what was supposed to happen.
He was disoriented, too numb to even feel panic or put up a fight when the new journalist came in and tied him up to pass him to the pirates who had decimated the crew.
Pirates. It wasn't the Golden Age of Piracy yet, and although the Roger Pirates and other famous names were often whispered about, most sailors didn't expect to personally run into pirates. Thatch had been warned of their existence, but hadn't really thought much on them, as they had seemed irrelevant to his own peaceful civilian adventures.
The pirates and the journalist had a deal, he gathered. The pirates had wanted to get their hands on the famous child prodigy cook, and were willing to pay good money. The journalist had agreed, and had summoned the pirates to their location. Everyone but Thatch and the journalist had been killed to erase witnesses.
Before handing Thatch off to them, the journalist demanded payment first. Thatch remembers wondering why the journalist hadn't demanded anything before agreeing to the deal--it seemed a bad business tactic.
Thatch was standing right next to the journalist when the pirate captain drew his sword. Thatch wasn't scared, because he knew he wouldn't be hurt. He was an asset. And he probably knew what would happen before the journalist did.
He still remembers feeling the whoosh of air as the sword came, the sound of it hitting flesh, the dull thunk, the loosening of the arms gripping the rope that held Thatch bound.
Thatch thought ah, so human heads can be severed just as easily as fish heads.
Thatch didn't put up a fuss, going with the pirates. It was clear he couldn't have stayed on the ransacked ship, because even if he did, he had no way of manning the ship alone, even if he even knew how. And so he wordlessly followed, and continued to do what he'd done his whole life: obey adults.
And at first it wasn't bad. A kitchen was a kitchen, no matter how dirty, and Thatch knew how to please people with food. The pirates seemed overjoyed with Thatch's skill.
But some part of Thatch really wondered if that's all they wanted from him, and that bad feeling manifested itself as reality soon.
Hey brat, the captain said one day, and dumped a sack of ingredients Thatch had never used before into the kitchen. Turn this into something good. We need to get rid of an entire rival crew, and they're gluttons.
Thatch may never have used them before, but he recognized the things in the bag. They were all things he knew to avoid.
The pirate captain was asking him to make poison.
Thatch was a cook. No matter the reasons why people wanted him to cook, no matter who benefited and what money was passed around, and no matter how terrible the conditions--Thatch was alright so long as he could cook. Thatch cooked so that he could make delicious things that would in the end, contribute to nourishing people. He polished his skills to make that experience better, to make his patrons happier, to make himself feel more accomplished as a result.
Poison...that wasn't something that a cook could make.
Thatch, for the first time, spoke back to an adult. He felt that numb feeling again, over any fear.
I'm a cook, I can't make anything that can harm people. Please let me start preparing dinner. Thatch stated it as fact, and to him, it was.
The pirate struck Thatch. It was the first time he'd ever been hit, because as a child prodigy, as an asset, he'd always been too valuable to damage. But now...
You'll make it, or we have no need for you.
Bars were added to the kitchen, making it Thatch's cell. All edible ingredients were confiscated. And every day, the pirates came in with more ingredients, more demands.
Make an aphrodisiac. Make a date rape drug. Make something that'll make someone lose feeling in their limbs. Make something that'll cause loss of senses. Make something that'll cause crazy hallucinations. Make something deadly, but undetectable in water. Make something that can dissolve guts from the inside out. Make something that won't kill, but cause excruciating pain. Make something that WILL kill, but only after several days.
The pirates didn't want a cook. They wanted a master poisons brewer. Which, Thatch was not.
Every time Thatch refused, they beat him. They threatened to cut off his legs, because why would he need them, when all he needed were his hands? They threatened to carve out his eyes, and the captain stabbed a knife close to his left eye to show how serious he was. They left Thatch with running water, but didn't give him anything to eat, other than the deadly, horrible ingredients they'd left inside the kitchen for him to turn into even worse poisons.
Thatch sorted the ingredients by those least harmful, and kept himself alive by reluctantly eating those first, but knew that the longer this continued, the more permanent and fatal the damage those ingredients would cause.
(He tried to come up with ways to use what he had to nullify effects, but he was just a kid, and it was his first time trying to make actual medicine. His experiments were risky, and often failed.)
Thatch didn't know how long he was in there, his sense of time and self muddled as he survived off of numbing agents and aphrodisiacs and hallucinogens. They barely kept him alive, and made him feel horrible. He tried to remember why it was so important he kept eating them, and rationing them like they were valuable.
In the corner of the kitchen was an ever growing pile of bright, beautiful fruits that he knew would cause immediate agonizing death...but they looked so lusciously juicy and ripe, and it was getting harder to remember why he couldn't eat them.
Perhaps it was the hallucinogens, perhaps it was everything wrong with his body that Thatch had unwillingly caused himself by eating, but one day, Thatch realized he was going through the movements of peeling those fruits, chopping them, squeezing the juices and watching with fascination as they sizzled into the bubbling pot he was brewing. He was too entranced by the concoction to even notice that his hands were burning and blistering, or perhaps they were just too numb.
He added spices, adjusted heat, and hummed. It had been too long, since he had cooked.
Except he wasn't cooking, because this wasn't food.
It smelled quite delicious, Thatch thought, mildly impressed with himself. Something tropical and fruity, mellowed by mushrooms and a great many other herbs. And it looked aesthetically pleasing, with its dancing, hypnotic colors. If he hadn't known what had gone into it, he'd consider it presentable to critics as his next seasonal special.
But now that it was done, and ready to be served, Thatch had no clue what to do with it.
He hadn't thought that far (he wasn't thinking at all), and didn't know how to think about the thing he made, when it wasn't edible.
He supposed he could possibly see if it could melt through the bars of his cell, though he wasn't sure where he'd even go if he could escape. The cell didn't have any windows, and Thatch wasn't even sure they were at an island, they could still be on open water. Thatch might be able to throw it on a pirate, as a weapon. But there were dozens of pirates on board, and not nearly enough for all of them.
He could drink it himself. It would be an escape of sorts, he supposed.
It never crossed Thatch's mind to offer the concoction to the pirates, as a creation to be used.
He stood in the kitchen for hours, aimlessly stirring the pot, watching the brew get darker and darker, its magical colors turning into murky brown. Eventually, it became a thick, black tar-like substance that reflected no light, that looked like a void as Thatch stared into it.
A thin gray haze gradually began filling the room, and Thatch was well aware of it. He was already starting to feel noticeably worse than before. He supposed that was one way of giving himself a time limit: he'd either decide what to do with the brew, or succumb to the fumes first.
He distantly heard muted sounds overhead, and he realized the pirates may be fighting someone. It happened once in a while. But it was usually with other pirates, and he doubted it was the marines, and no civilian vessel would dare get close to such an obvious pirate ship. And well, if it was pirates...that's just more of the same, wasn't it?
Thatch eventually heard footsteps approaching the room, and someone coughing as they inhaled the fumes, now dense enough to be a dark smog that made it hard to see his own hands (or maybe that was the effect of the poison in him).
A creak--the cell doors were opening.
Thatch could barely think anymore, but made a split second decision. He didn't know what the consequences would be, but had a hunch he wouldn't survive long enough to find out anyway, so what did it matter.
He picked up the pot, and hurled all of its contents at the approaching figure.
There was a FUCK! and then--
Thatch won't ever forget what happened when that brew hit a human body.
But as he fell, the last of his strength gone, wondering if he should feel horrible or proud that he killed someone on his way out, Thatch saw the room light up, the black haze vanishing into searing, brilliant turquoise flames.
~~
"And so that's how I met Marco!" Thatch says, voice surprisingly chipper, even though Sanji feels like retching.
"You melted him," Ace says flatly, voice a mix of horror and awe.
"Sure did, if he had been anyone else they probably woulda been a puddle of human goo, and even he got halfway there," Thatch agrees, his hands stroking Luffy's hair harder, as they'd been doing all throughout his story telling. "Though lucky me, to have thrown poison at possibly one of the only people in the world with instant self-regeneration and possibly immortality."
"Was he mad? Pineapple bird-man. Melting doesn't sound very fun," Luffy frowns. She'd admittedly fallen asleep for most of the story, but woke up again when Thatch's hands in her hair got more tense, more urgent. She contentedly nuzzles into his thigh, more interested in making sure that Thatch's alright than in his answer, and she purrs when he crooks his fingers to scritch her reassuringly.
"Oh sure, he was mad for a little bit, but he's a nice guy and was a worry-wort even back then, so he brought me to Pops. And well, it took a while, but we're best buddies now and have been for years! Fancy that."
Deuce was shaking his head. "I still can't believe that stupid crew wanted to take down Pops with poison of all things, and were stupid enough to enter his territory without it even being ready."
"Well, it's not like they could have won in direct combat, and to be fair, back then the Four Emperors weren't that established, and territories in the New World were a lot looser than they are now." Thatch shrugged. "If nothing else, it was a creative angle, if a poorly thought out one, unlike some people's way of challenging Pops." Ace fidgets uncomfortably here, and Deuce snorts.
"You..." Sanji's finally recovering from his queasiness, because fuck Thatch's tale really wasn't pretty, especially from a cook's perspective. "You don't mind fighting, and killing people now?" He glances at the swords strapped to Thatch's belt, and thinks about his own insistence to never use his hands in combat.
"Well, I'd prefer not to do it, same as anyone else. But I don't mind fighting in general, and once Pops adopted me, I wanted to be able to defend myself." Thatch laughs here, and it sounds bitter, making Luffy look up. "Haruta actually suggested I use poison, if I knew how to make one that could almost take down the Phoenix, and, well...that's a no. May have thrown him overboard for that, but he deserved it. I told them I was good with knives, and Vista helped me develop my own style."
The conversation moves on then, the other crew members chipping in with questions, but Sanji sort of tunes it all out. He thought he was over his queasiness, but it's back again. Being forced to brew poison, and being offered nothing but harmful things to eat...fuck. Even Judge hadn't done that...
He feels something wrap around him then, and Sanji looks down, and realizes that Luffy's looped her tail so that her flukes curl behind his back, securely holding him, even as she continues to nuzzle Thatch's leg for attention.
How weak he must be, Sanji thinks, to need his captain's comfort now. But it helps, and he gradually relaxes.
Eventually the others realize that the story's over, and disperse back to their usual tasks, leaving Thatch and Sanji and a snoozing Luffy curled around both of their laps.
"Well, I guess that explains how the boy prodigy's journey ended," Sanji says, reaching over to Thatch's side to run his hand through Luffy's hair, smiling when she hums happily.
Thatch makes a soft sound, that sounds like possibly disagreement. "Well, sure, I ended up joining the Whitebeard pirates, and never ended up going back to my hometown. Everyone thought I was dead anyway, and being on the Moby was better than any restaurant for me, because I got to feed my brothers and travel, at least wherever the Moby goes, and that's still a fine adventure in its own way. But I guess you're right in that with a territory and a literal army backing me up...it's not quite the same kind of adventure, without the trill of the unknown."
Thatch looks up then, and when his eyes sweep across their little ship, and the small crew strewn about it, he looks fond. "But I guess in a way, that's what I'm doing now, isn't it? I may no longer be a 'boy prodigy,' but me traveling with you guys, going back up the Grand Line...it's sorta like that journey again."
Sanji blinks.
"The end of that journey...maybe you're on it with me, right now." Thatch winks.
Sanji snorts. "That's so cheesy," he says, but he doesn't meant it, not really, because he can't deny the giddiness that begins welling up in him at the thought.
Because what adult doesn't still have a child inside them, buried underneath layers of years, still craving those wishful dreams from long ago?
There's a moment of silence, before both cooks break out into laughter, carefree and boyish.
And so their journey continues onward.
~~

Aaand that's a wrap! For this lil story series within this ever growing AU at least!
It may be a cheesy ending, but it still feels like an ending of sorts? which, is something I usually never actually manage to write to, everything I write is usually either short or abandoned....so I Feel Accomplished ^ ^;;
If you managed to get through it all, thanks so much for reading and sticking with this!!!! ;A; I’m definitely extremely curious to know if you have any thoughts regarding my take on Thatch's past, or anything else, because as always any comments are HUGELY appreciated!
Thanks again!

Some questions about Fishy Dad AU!!! Did Jinbei take the kids back to the island for them to start their journeys? Also, are Luffy's clothes different from cannon in a way to hide his sun? Because Nami at that point would learn to associate a sun shaped burn with Arlong, and i don't think she would join someone with that mark willingly without some history lesson on the Sun Pirates first...
dad jinbei au
oh that’s a good question, i never thought of that!
i think the starting point of their journeys is different for each of the brothers.
ace, i think, would want to start off at reverse mountain, because he wants to go see crocus before he starts his journey. this ace isn’t bitter towards roger, because he grew up sheltered from the world’s hate, and he had a massive family who didn’t care who his birth father was. to anyone on fishman island, he’s jinbei’s oldest brat, and that’s all that matters. jinbei has told him a bit about the roger pirates, but he didn’t know them well, and crocus is the only one whose position ace knows for sure, so he goes to talk to the old man and learn more about his parents (later, when the spade pirates reach sabaody and ace finds out that rayleigh was there the entire time, ace facepalms because he was so fucking close. ace didn’t have to cross half the world to reach crocus. but at the same time he doesn’t regret it, because he got to meet the old man, and he got to meet each of his crewmates, so it was worth it)
Sabo knows from before he even starts his journey that he wants to join the revolutionary army. because he grew up on fishman island, and he saw firsthand the terrible effects of the slave trade, and he wants to help build a world where his loved ones don’t have to fear the possibility of being kidnapped as slaves. so he sets out from fishman island and heads straight into the new world, searching for some way to get in contact with the revolutionaries so he can join them. jinbei has full confidence that he raised his boys to be strong enough to handle any seas, but he still frets over sabo heading straight into the new world without any crew to back him up
in this au, the asl trio’s meeting would have to happen earlier in order to match up with them meeting koala (she’s a year older than sabo and ace, so around the time she was saved was when luffy met ace for the first time), so maybe luffy was given to dadan as a baby, instead of being raised in windmill village. so he knew sabo and ace from the beginning, and they were picked up by jinbei at ages 4 and 7 respectively. so how did luffy meet shanks in this au? i think it would have happened when they were passing through fishman island on their way back to the new world after the red hair pirates left dawn island. jinbei’s probably away on a voyage, leaving his sons in the care of the royal family, or some other friend, and when shanks and his crew pass through, the boys find out he’d been to dawn island. they get excited because that’s where they’re from, and that’s what causes luffy to imprint on shanks. he wants to know how his foster mother dadan is doing (too bad shanks never met dadan, but he does know makino, the nice lady from the village who used to come visit the bandits sometimes and bring clothes and treats for the boys). luffy ends up getting kidnapped by a passing pirate crew, which shanks saves him from, in the process losing his arm, and that’s how luffy gets the straw hat.
luffy thinks that starting his journey from fishman island would be cheating, so he asks his dad to take him back to dawn island (jinbei grumbles and huffs about having to take him so far, but it’s all in good fun). not only is it a good starting point, luffy also wants to take the chance to see dadan before he sets off, so he can tell her that he and his brothers grew up safe and loved and happy. and he can tell her that even though he was only with her for a few years, she’ll always be his mom (dadan starts sobbing and throwing things at him, telling him to get out, she’s not emotional, not at all)
as for luffy’s sun tattoo? his canon clothes would cover most of it (since he wore his vest buttoned at the beginning of his journey) except for a few rays at the top, but personally? i feel like he would be too proud of his sun to ever cover it up. he’d probably wear his vest open specifically to show off his sun.
when nami first sees it, she immediately distrusts it because, like you said, she associates it with arlong. it does make her more cautious in her approach to luffy though, and she doesn’t try and turn him in to buggy because if there’s a possibility he works for arlong, it could get her in lots of trouble. she puts on her persona as an officer of the arlong pirates when she deals with him, thinking it’ll be the best way to get his trust, since with his strength he’ll be able to help her out of the situation she’s in really easily. and then she can travel with him back to cocoyashi without much danger. the more time she spends with him though, the more she gets perplexed because she sees how different he is from arlong’s crew. and he’s definitely too stupid to be putting on an act.
she finally gets her answer when zoro asks luffy after they leave orange town “what does that sun mean anyways?” and luffy explains to him about the meaning of it, and how this sun is his pride, because it connects him to his family

ZoNa Holiday 2020 Entry Prompt 1 (Snow Angel / All Wrapped Up)
@zonamievents
One Piece in Fallout Universe (kinda~)
AN: I’ve been playing Fallout 4 a lot and couldn’t help but think about what it would be like for One Piece in the universe, so please enjoy this snippet. Also, I haven’t done any creative writing in nearly three years and I ask for forgiveness if its rough. This piece isn’t heavily on about them being together just yet, though I plan to write more for the prompts and expand this better. Worked on this for about five to six hours straight to try and get it done in time, but it’s late. I’m still gonna squeeze my entry in though, hopefully! :)

I never regret The years that I’m giving They’re easy to give  When you’re in love  I’m happy to do whatever I do for you
There’s something about being within inches of death that suddenly makes blood rush faster and for all the words that hadn’t formed to break through the flood gates. Maybe it had just been the adrenaline talking, a need to achieve certain feelings before dying off and becoming one with the scattered waste of the world.
But, Nami would have only been lying to herself to try and pass that off as the reason as to why her lips shook out a hasty “I’m in love with you” towards Zoro’s direction before the last swing from the Deathclaw rattled the right side of her skull, sending her in the air through a concrete pillar and hot blood dripping into her eyes preventing her from seeing Zoros reaction to the words.
Because there was truth in the statement, though she was unsure of when during the six years of traveling with Luffy that the feelings had started. Had it been so early as to their first meeting? Seeing him face off Arlong along side their friends? Or maybe the time apart had built an unknown longing for two years that was finally becoming clear to her in the past few months?
Thoughts race like blood when you think you’re going to die. Nami had seen that in the time Bellemere died, how she had pushed to voice courage towards little Nojiko and Nami. This time was different than Bellemere, she had died being a protector to the end, and Nami would die because of her own rookie mistake.
As her eyes slipped closed from the world, it seemed Zoro had finally gotten serious and she could just barely make out his voice over her busted eardrums, but she did.
“Don’t die on me.”
*****
Living for you Is easy living  It’s easy to live  When you’re in love  And I’m so in love  There’s nothing in life but you
Nearly twenty hours earlier, Nami had very different plans for the day.
There was plenty of work to go around at the Strawhats main settlement; crops to be harvested, buildings to be constructed, purified water to be gathered, defenses to be fixed... And that was only here!
She had awoken just before four am had hit, the sun still hidden deep in the clouds, and Nami had decided that the weather would be alright for the day and that the impeding snowstorm would hold off for another day or two. The first thing on her agenda had been to check on the mikan trees and see if they were well.
Franky had created plenty of special greenhouses throughout their compound for Nami to keep her mikan trees safe, along with Robin’s flowers and Usopp’s pop greens to grow safely. She didn’t necessarily mind the thought of the mikan trees being among the other garden beds around the settlement, but she did worry about if people would only go to them for food rather treating the trees with upmost respect that Bellemere would approve of, let alone take care of them properly.
After three pulls on the door handle, Nami’s bedroom door finally gave way for her to exit it —Franky said that was the downside of working with rusty wasteland materials, maybe she could hire someone to look for newer, untouched supplies to get an upgrade. Though, by the head of swaying green before her, it wasn’t even her strength or the willingness of the door to give up, but rather Zoro who had forced the wood into action.
“Yo,” casual as ever, Zoro leaned on the wall opposite of Nami as she slammed the door back into place, not in anger, but the damn thing was too much trouble!
“I didn’t know you were back yet,” Nami rested her hands in her hair, combing it into a tangled ponytail, she could only manage to place her eyes at his nose, looking too closely into Zoro’s eyes lately brought on a heat she couldn’t control. If she kept her hands busy, they wouldn’t give away the noticeable shake and she could hold back the need to run away. “The way Brook talked, it seemed as if the raid would take longer.”
Zoro gave a curious peer towards her, tilting his head down as if that was the way to suddenly unearth what was different in the moment, “Well, it was supposed to, but Brook really wanted to add those instruments to his collection and threw any caution out the window.” A sly smirk stretched his lips and if Nami knew any better, she would say that was the truth, but a half-truth at that.
“And you also got lost, heading dead-center into their manpower?” Nami gathered her own smirk as his slipped to a scowl, the fire snapping to life in him and gearing up for their usually banter.
“Shut up! I wasn’t lost, the hallways kept changing their direction, I can make my way around fine without anyone else!” Zoro chewed out at her with more venom than necessary for her small comment.
Nami’s left eyebrow lifted, as she crossed her arms across her chest and cocked her hip out towards him, “Besides being here to tell me your prevarication, you came to see me for something, right? Your room is on the floor below this one. AND, whatever it is, is going to cost you, surely you don’t mind me raising your debt, hm?” She gave a cheshire grin that didn’t match with the sweetness her tone was tinted with, giving way to her true feelings as her brown eyes glinted gold.
The threat of a higher debt seemed to sour Zoro’s mood even more, “Don’t even think about it.” The reverb of his voice in his throat caused a twinge at the base of her spine and the gathering heat pulled Nami’s eyes to look into his finally, a pair of steel that seemed set on unraveling her. “You can take up your charges with Chopper, since he’s the one that wants the two of us to head out and gather something for him.”
His hand rested beside her head and the small height gap between the two was noticeable now, though she was unsure of the moment he had made his way so close to her own body, trapping Nami against her bedroom door.
That heat that wouldn’t go away was flooding her, she could barely keep her breathe together and she definitely wanted to run as she dug her nails into her palms to gain the last of her control to keep from sprinting.
The air hung tense for a moment, like Zoro had been sizing her up for some reason, his only good eye tracking the nervous jitter Nami’s body gave off. While his observation’s of her was making things worse, she found that by standing her ground she could regather herself and ducked beneath his arm, leading the way towards the greenhouse garden where her mikan trees resided.
He followed beside her, watching the way she smoothed her hands along her jeans with a hawk’s stare. Yes, she very much wanted to run away right now.
Yet, she couldn’t run. There was few people that Nami would deny if they asked her of something and that few included Chopper. “So, what is it exactly? It must be something quite important if Chopper wanted to hound on you right after getting back and pretty far if he’s wanting me to guide you there.”
“I’ve been back for two days, maybe you would have noticed if you didn’t avoid any area that we could overlap in,” Zoro had noticed more about her lately than she was hoping he would, and the pinched ire he held back somewhat showed he wasn’t pleased.
“I’m not avoiding anything!” Nami frowned as she balled up her fists at her side with a huff, “I’m a busy woman around here. It can’t be helped that when I get pulled into ten million directions that I don’t end up in the ones that you were lost in!”
Distracted by the jab at his sense of directions, Zoro seemed to drop the subject of her actions with the need to yell some more about how the world was just switching itself around as he walked, not that he could possibly be lost.
By the time the two had stopped bickering over it, Nami was punching in a button and the refurbished garage door was squeaking up to reveal her mikan trees in their full beauty. She inhaled a deep whiff of the scent that hit, and her mind seemed to relax completely as she took it in. There was no arguing, or someone needing her, or a world probably crushed beyond repair that was needing fixing. No worries, no overwhelming heat or tingles in her spine, just the moment of a far away home she couldn’t return to, a mother that was beautiful and gone, a sister that was picking at her.
It was nice to get lost for a second. But the sound of a sharp inhale beside her knocked her slightly out of it, turning towards the one who had made the noise to see Zoro... nervous? His hand clutched at his swords and his eyes were caught on her lips, her neck, her blissed out eyes. Nami could tell he was holding back, what that was she had no clue about, but her trance was completely broken, even as the heat reared its head again.
Zoro seemed to be stuck in the moment with her, the world around them having dropped far away. “Don’t avoid me,” his voice broke through the silence, his calloused hand coming to clutch her cheek and stray his thumb across her lips.
So close, too close.
His thumb dipped between her lips and she hummed a noise of commitment to him as her tongue slithered to give a drowsy lick to the digit. Nami’s mind raced yet was empty all at the same time, the intensity of Zoro’s gaze burned into her, and there seemed to be only one way this encounter could possibly end.
And it probably would have, with the way Zoro leaned closer, his other hand popping the button of her jeans.
Alas, there was still a world around them though that kept moving even when they were lost in daze.
The tiny pitter patter along the concrete gave away the incoming target and Zoro had half a mind to veer back the words he wanted to use as the reindeer grew closer.
“Another time,” Zoro had whispered to Nami, fixing the button and creating a healthy, normal distance between the two as if what happened didn’t occur at all.
Nami had to admit that she was in a bit of stupor as Chopper finally gave way under the closest lights of the hall to them, a jolly smile breaking out across his face as to seem he’d been searching for a bit for the two.
“Oiii!” Chopper shouted in delight, fastening his pace towards the two and inhaling the nice scent of the mikan’s. Chopper was too cute to allow something so indecent to happen in the presence of, “I checked for Zoro in his room and then tried to find you at yours Nami, but both of you were gone. I figured Zoro was lost somewhere, so I came to check here. What good luck I have!”
Though Zoro protested at the prospect of him being lost, the two still gave warm smiles to Chopper, Nami offering a soft scratch to the top of his head, partly to ease her shivering, but also as a small congratulations to the animal doctor.
“So, why were you looking for us, Chopper? Could it be about this thing you wanted us to go out and find for you that Zoro mentioned to me?” She peered down at him and his expression grew serious, it seemed today really wouldn’t be focused on getting work done around the place after all.
“Yeah, I wanted to catch you before you left. As I told Zoro, I’ve been doing a lot of different experiments and part of those experiments is using the blood from feral ghouls and I’m starting to run low on stock. Law told me about this group of scientists that had taken shelter in a factory on the other side of the state who were also doing some experimentation, but got killed by a pack of Deathclaws that have been living in there since. He’s sure that they made up nearly a hundred packs of feral ghoul blood.” Chopper had shrunk back down to his small size while talking and Nami had a frown on her face that deepened more and more as he told her the scoop of what he believed just the two of them could take on.
“He’s also wanting us to bring back the claws of the Deathclaws there, if possible,” Zoro interjected, his arms crossed over his chest now and leaning against the edge of the open door.
“Chopper, that’s nearly insane! Sure, Zoro could take on such a feat, but it would be a death sentence for me!” she was frazzled at the thought of getting stuck in a pack of Deathclaws who could easily tear her to shreds in an instance if they so pleased.
“That’s why Zoro should go with you! I believe that you could sneak in and steal the blood packs before the Deathclaws know you’re there, but if anything were to happen, Zoro could fight them off to protect you,” Chopper’s idea was rock solid and there was the chance she could do it, she had done it before a few years back, but that was sneaking around only one of them, not a bunch that most likely contained their children.
“Well, I guess it could possibly work out-” the gears seemed to finally scratch together in her head and she whipped down at Chopper with her hands on her hips and teeth sharpening with her words, “WAIT! Don’t tell me that you were planning for ME to go ALONE if Zoro or someone else wasn't available to go as well?!”
Chopper cried and jumped to hide behind Zoro’s legs, though he hid the wrong way to have part of him sticking out. “Like I said, I believe in you being able to easily sneak around without alerting them, but Zoro was the one who said that somebody should go with you, so I asked him and then he tried to say he could find it on his own, but there’s no way. He would definitely get lost and end up on the other side of the globe! Don’t you understand my predicament, Nami?”
He was giving her those big, watery eyes and her heart started to crack for him. Of course Chopper couldn’t leave as one of the main doctors around and on top that everyone was either gone or too busy with dealing with all the settlements they helped out to gather supplies for Chopper’s side project. That really did leave Nami, Zoro, and Brook, and he probably made the plan while the two guys were gone, leaving the task as something Nami would have to carry out.
A hefty sigh left her chest and that heat and tingles caused by Zoro seemed to completely disappear as her mind already began to gather ideas of the best and fastest routes to take across the state.
Nami straightened her back and closed her eyes to contain the last of her angry, “Alright, I guess it can’t be helped then, huh, Chopper?” She gave a small, tight smile to the tiny reindeer and made a mental note to try and trick Sanji to check in with Chopper in the future so he would be sent out on his suicide missions rather than her.
Chopper’s ecstatic shout echoed along the hallway, pulling the bag off his back to shove plenty of Stimpaks in Nami’s palms and then Zoro’s. “I made up a lot just in case you guys get in tight situations. These things can heal in a punch, but don’t forget that the best for the body is proper rest, diet, and caution.” The last part was directed at Zoro, by the way she had seen Chopper give a sharp doctors gaze at the man who was putting away the healing items with a bored look.
“Yeah, yeah, no worries. Don’t worry Chopper, we’ll be back by tomorrow night and without using any of these,” Zoro smirked proudly at the reindeer whose eyes were the ones to be glinting this time, the shining stars nearly bursting out to show his high thoughts of Zoro.
With a whimper, Nami rang her hand across her face. Just what had she gotten herself into?
...
And did he say Zoro was the one to volunteer to go with her?
*****
For you Maybe I’m a fool but it’s fun People say you rule me with one Wave of your hand Darling, it’s grand  They just don’t understand
It was nearly eighteen hours since they left the compound, her mikan trees all nicely taken care of, and an awkward air of silence created between the two. Well, it wasn’t necessarily awkward, but more of an overwhelming tension that was making her feel awkward as it dragged on more with nothing happening between the two of them.
At this point, Nami’s lips were worn away in all the wrong ways. She had been biting on them out of nervousness and she had also slide down a hill and smashed her face into a rock. If there was one thing to pick out from that accident just than Zoro’s laughing being the only time she had seen him show emotion since leaving, it would be the prospect of bad luck could be looming after the first incident.
The factory that Chopper had told them of seemed to be an old food packing plant, she gazed up the rusted back garage doors and to the very few windows the looming structure seemed to have. Zoro beside her did the same, since getting within half a mile of the place, his hand had been firmly planted and unmoving atop of the hilts of his swords.
The closest window to the ground that Zoro could possibly boost her to was near the left side and she waved her hand for him to follow over to it. He positioned himself to be right under it and readied his arms to toss her up enough that she would get through the window.
“If something goes wrong, yell,” there was a joking smile on his face, as if the thought of the signal being her scream rather than the obvious racked of Deathclaws going crazy would be what it would take for him to know she was in danger.
Nami rolled her eyes and shifted the weight of her bag to even out on her back, giving a few rolling huffs of air to prepare herself, “Yeah, yeah, let’s just get this over with,” she grumbled and pushed her body into his waiting grip.
Zoro’s right hand taking hold of her thigh and his left hand pushing into the belt of her jeans, sliding his thumb beneath the fabric for just a moment pop her panties on her hip, tossing her upwards as she gasped. The idiot was confusing her with each of his whims today.
Her hands gripped onto the creaking window frame and let herself drop through, positioning her body in the air to fall safely. As Nami’s feet had hit the ground, she kept a still stance and held her breathe, taking in the surroundings around her, finding that she was nicely alone in the space she landed in.
Feeling that the coast was clear at the moment, she kept a crouched stance, taking steps over the destroyed conveyor belts that was missing teeth mark shaped bits that were strewn across the room. If Chopper wanted Deathclaw claws, that could wait until another day after she found out how many were here and they could properly plan a strike, rather than race in and sustain more injuries than necessary.
As she shifted through the plant, trying to figure out where the lower stairs would be —Deathclaws liked being below the ground after all and that would be the most likely place that they would be and where these past scientists hid the blood from any prying hands— her mind drifted to Zoro.
Today had been confusing and all because of Zoro. She wasn’t used to his outward reactions towards her, let alone the thought of a mutual lust between the two. What exactly had changed so quickly during the past week for him to put himself out there and ready to jump Nami?
After working through four different room, picking up some canned food that could be put to use back home, the stairs finally appeared before her. And just beside them was a slim wall holder that contained a worn map, a big score for stumbling around in an abandoned place like this.
“Bingo,” she whispered to herself, fingering through the pages as quietly as the paper crinkles would allow, finding that there seemed to be two higher levels, the main floor she was on, and three basement floors beneath her.
That meant there was three floors she would have to crawl through in the hopes of finding these feral ghoul blood packs for Chopper and three floors of potential Deathclaws with however many that she didn’t know about. Nami’s skin broke out in bumps, worried sweat sliding down her chin, down her neck, and hitting the bare skin of her breasts. She was starting to regret the bra and tank top, but anything more and the sound would have given her away.
She pushed down the stairs, heading to the first basement floor to check through it.
Zoro had been so confident to undo her pants and take her right in the hallway where any of their friends could easily walk through and find them. The idea of such an occurrence brought the tingles back to her spine, Nami’s mind swirling around with just what he might do if he had seen that sweat, how his lips would fiercely attack the space of her breasts.
Half of this floor seemed to be clear so far, she dimly noted, nicking some metal scraps that were resting in a shipment of boxes. They were probably waiting to be unloaded and used to fix something in the plant before the nukes dropped.
The next set of stairs wouldn’t be too far and Nami knew that she should probably keep her senses in check, but Zoro just had to reignite that heat once again before she came in here.
It should have been gross, licking on his thumb like a kitten, but it was hot and the little bit of salty sweat residue tasted nice on her tongue. She wanted more of that, more of Zoro, but it was risky to think of anything past a nice romp in the bed. Though she didn’t take him as the type to hit and that be it, yet the thought of him having those same confusing feelings that laid past friendship or family or lust was odd.
Love.
The hints of feeling in love had been creeping through Nami’s mind for over seven months now and on top of that, Zoro caught on to the fact that she had been trying to distance herself from him to keep out any of those kinds of feelings taking a hold of her and rendering her a victim.
There was nothing wrong with being in love. She was so happy for Usopp and Kaya every time she saw the two of them in that special bubble of theirs.
But, the thoughts of how much harsher it would be to lose that person after taking that step into a different boundary, the pain of losing the only one who got to see you so intimately, that would be much worse than just losing close friends and family. She didn’t want to go through another death like Bellemere’s ever again.
So caught up in her head, Nami hadn’t even realized she found herself on the second basement floor until the smell hit her nose and she dived behind a desk decked with a busted up computer terminal.
Her breathe got stuck in her throat, a tiny whimper slipping out of her hands she covered over mouth.
She had been right about the Deathclaw children.
There had to be a dozen adult Deathclaws alone and over half a dozen of the children on this floor. In the past, the Strawhat crew had met a few friendly Deathclaws, but that was a different case than now. The way they growled, slinking around the room and sniffing, there was no doubt in her mind of the hunger that was in these Deathclaws. But, there was another stench of a smell she had recognized as well.
Peaking beneath the sliver of the desk, across the room there was stacks on stacks of labeled feral ghoul blood packs, just as Chopper had heard from Law, but it seemed that a few had gotten busted open and the smell of irradiated blood was mixing with the Deathclaw’s and creating something foul that made her stomach twist in sickening flops.
No matter where she seemed to look, there would be no way that Nami could reach the blood by sneaking around Deathclaw’s there was just no space to hide behind to reach the blood packs and any direction she went and the time spent grabbing them would only lead to her being noticed and most definitely killed.
Maybe if she could get back out and to Zoro, she could lead him into here to clear the place for her to gather the blood packs, or at least distract them long enough. But, there was no telling if there was more in the last basement floor and how many compared to the amount that was around her now.
With each second passing of her being on the floor like this, it was becoming apparent to Nami the predicament she was in.
Especially so when a throaty growl was too close to her ear and she could feel drool drooping along her leg.
Screwed, so screwed.
She had half a mind to actually turn and look to the predator, it’s mouth hanging open before her and the fangs glistening with saliva from the swinging lights above.
Her lungs burned from the scream she let out, the Deathclaw’s arm swinging down to crush the desk, Nami narrowly escaping the bloody death with a quick roll of her body. Hopefully the idiot Zoro had heard her, though she was uncertain if it would reach so far above compared to where she was in the basement.
All of the Deathclaw’s on the floor now had a nice eyeful of her spread out along the floor, like a snack before dinner for them, and below she could hear the rumble of more feet and claws racing to tear into her and make her bits.
The Clima Baton she had grown so used was being worked on by Usopp and so he had given her an overly upgraded laser pistol, but there was no way a laser pistol could get her out of this mess. Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, they were the types to be able to get themselves out of this situation without worries, but Nami wasn’t them.
That was why the moment she raised the pistol, a Deathclaw rushed from behind and sent her flying into a wall. The wall of blood packs she needed to get. No doubt was her left leg broken and the pumping blood was driving the Deathclaws insane with thirst. There was a slight distraction though, as Zoro finally burst forth, bringing out all three of his swords and slicing right through the first one to attack her.
Nami knew that she should probably get somewhere safer, but the reason they were here for Chopper came first. Zoro could take care of the Deathclaws and she could get the blood.
She whipped around her bag, throwing the flap open, and pushing the blood packs in by the arm full. There was a Deathclaw rearing itself up for an attack at her, but she almost had them all in her possession and Zoro would take care of it, right?
But, it’s claws still came racing for her, tearing away the tattered tank top in the first swipe and cutting open her stomach with the second.
“Nami!” She could make out Zoro calling out to her, but she couldn’t see him beyond the rush of the lower floor Deathclaws surrounding him, the space of the whole floor seemed to be taken up by the creatures.
Hope was growing dark for her.
And that was how Nami had gotten into this moment.
She sent her secured bag to Zoro through the Deathclaws, and prepared herself for this to be it. It was one of those moments that her brain just wasn’t thinking properly and death seemed inevitable now.
Even though she was scared of loving someone, scared of dying, scared of ruining that person she loved, Nami broke out into one more smile.
“I’m in love with you.” Zoro’s face peaked through the wall of Deathclaws and her words reached him, she hoped, as the arm of the nearest one swung into her, giving her a final look of its stretching skin tinged pink, the bent horns of a devil, and the foot long claws that hurt like a bitch.
The concrete pillar it launched her into could have been nice, save for the fact of her head not being wrapped around it.
Zoro’s voice echoed out to her as her eyes slid shut.
“Don’t die on me.”
*****
Living for you Is easy living  It’s easy to live When you’re in love And I’m so in love There’s nothing in life but you
It was with a harsh thumping in her head, that Nami had awoken to a delicious warmth enveloping all over her. Such a nice warmth that she couldn’t resist nuzzling herself deeper into it, the feeling of her ear brushing over prickled skin like a scar.
A scar...
“Oi, you finally came to,” Zoro’s voice was low, even, though she didn’t miss the way his chest shook with a relieved sigh he seemed to have been holding in.
“Mmm, everything hurts,” Nami whined and cracked her eyes open, noticing first that Zoro was missing the top clothes he had on earlier then realizing that she was now wearing his jacket along with fabric wrapped around her head, waist, and leg. “Isn’t this a bit much?” she mumbled, shifting her body to get a better view of his face.
“What’s a bit much is you forgetting that Chopper gave you stimpaks to use and then proceeding to throw your bag at me,” he glared down at her and she sighed, that was right, she did have medical supplies that would have helped her, but she instead made the decision to be an idiot.
“Sorry... I was.. too caught up in my head,” Nami had tilted her gaze away from his as it was piercing her too much and she needed a relief and when she looked around them, the bodies of all the Deathclaws that had been crawling among the basement was dead now and their hands and feet were missing the claws. “At least you got the other part of why we were here, huh? Chopper will be happy.”
“He won’t be happy to see you in this state knowing he was the one to send you out here,” Zoro’s hand cautiously came to rest on the top of her head, stroking her orange locks at a steady pace. “Love, huh?”
She could hear the way his lips curled around the words and a blush crawled over her cheeks at the thought of her hasty confession. Nami raised her fist, slamming into the side of his head with a screeching “shut up” accompanying it.
But, the hit did nothing to rid Zoro of the teasing smile. “I guess trying to take pages out of Brook’s philosophy was all wrong,” he whispered thoughtfully, laying his lips to hers for a brief moment of fireworks, but he pulled away too quickly for her to enjoy it.
“Eh? Brook?” She let her head fall into a tilt as Zoro gathered her up into his arms in a bridal style, lifting her up and throwing both of their bags into her lap. Nami guessed that now she was awake and he knew she was going to live, he was fine with getting out of this place.
“Yeah, he was saying that when you try to go after a woman, you have to be over the top and come on strong,” a smirk strung across his face and a chuckle echoed around, “and then you will definitely get into their panties.”
Her eyes nearly rolled out her head, “Oh my god, seriously?! That’s why you were suddenly coming onto me? Cause you wanted to get me out of my panties? I didn’t realize that you and Sanji actually were so similar,” she poked at his buttons to tease him. Of course she should have known he was going by what someone else said.
“Oi! Don’t compare me to the shitty cook!” His foot rose to slam through the rest of the garage door that hadn’t been cut up and as the shanty metal clattered on the ground, piles of snow could be seen rising along the hills before them as more fell down from the sky.
Her smile drooped a bit, “I’ve been out for a whole day?”
Zoro sighed behind her, pulling her in closer to keep the cold away from her body, “Yeah, but it doesn’t seem you’re too bad off.”
“I guess we have plenty to talk about later on...” Nami’s voice drifted off as she wrapped his jacket tighter. There was something nice in this moment, a relief to know that her time hadn’t come, that Zoro was trying to work towards something with her, and being all wrapped in Zoro’s clothes and body.
Yes, it was wonderful, the warmth coming back, and that she wasn’t alone in those tingles that tickled her spine.

Hi angel of course. I hope you’re doing okay and please stay safe my love I know the urges are incredibly painful when they’re strong so I am sending you all my love. I love you. I’m also always here if you ever want a friend to talk to 💗💗💗
MAJOR TRIGGER WARNING FOR S3LF H4RM AND RELAPSE
________________________________________
You crawled through the dark of the boys room, tiptoes around each bed. You could detect the bed of your lover, fast asleep and snoring inaudible mumbles to himself. You gently snuck into his bed, peeling the covers up to guide you in next to him. His mumbles stopped, alerting you he had woken from the current rustle next to him.
“Huh” he asked, half sitting up. His eyes flickered over to you; curled up next to him. “(Y/n)?” he questioned, brushing your hair back groggily. You sniffled, prompting him to lie back down and face you again.
“What’s wrong?”
You stayed silent, almost embarrassed why you were upset. It felt almost pathetic to even let him know but you had to tell someone; you had to get help.
“It’s happening again…”
He didn’t say much to that, wrapping you into his long arms, cuddling you close to him. You didn’t need to say more; he already knew what you meant. He knew what you needed.
“You know I love you, right? Nothing will change that. I am so proud of you for fighting this; for fighting off the darkness. It doesn’t matter to me if you have relapsed or not, what matters is you are safe and you are trying. These urges will come and go but I will always be here; and I don’t plan on changing that”.
You nodded, unable to say anything. You appreciated his words but that didn't change the sting under your skin from your urges; it never changed how you physically felt. You had to believe it would get better; that all the emotional pain you felt would ease again where you wouldn't feel like this. It had to. It always did.
Luffy placed a delicate kiss to your forehead, squeezing you tighter into his arms. “Cmon, we’ll head to the kitchen and grab an ice cube” he sat up, ushering you out of the bed.
He held your shaking frame as he walked you to the kitchen, peppering your temple in light kisses. Sitting you down at the bench he ran over to the freezer door, setting free an ice cube for you. He delivered it back to you, holding it out with a wonderfully chipper smile, reassuring you that you were in safe company. He sat down next to you as you grabbed the ice cube from him, tracing it on your skin. “Now, baby” he began “would you like to tell me what happened?”
You sat there telling him how you felt. Telling him about that hurt and the urges you felt as you traced the cold cube along your skin, distracting you from your impending urges to do more harm. Luffy sat there, listening to your every word, engrossed with what you had to say.
He loved you.
He wanted to keep you safe and supported, knowing how incredibly strong you were fighting this. He had never known anyone as brave as you. He wanted nothing but happiness and love for you and although he couldn’t guarantee endless happiness he could guarantee endless love and support. Not just from him, but from the whole crew. None of what you did was weak or destructive to them; they all found you the way Luffy did.
That’s what it meant to be a Strawhat.
To be one of them.
Unconditional love and support.
It was a place where even when your world would crumble they would be there to hold you and guide you to safety. While they didn’t always understand it, they never questioned or made you doubt your reason for urges or relapse. They were your guiding system; a hand to hold and not fix you because you didn’t need to be fixed.
You weren’t broken.
You were lost.
And if they could manage to guide the thickheaded swordsman, they could afford to guide their friend back on the path again. They didn’t care how long it would take to hold you. They cared about your security.
No matter how long or treacherous the road would be.
