I am still over the moon with One Piece Live Action and how it had given my OTP justice. Not only was I expecting that we won’t get a lot of Zoro-Nami interactions but I was also thinking that they won’t put too much emphasis in their relationship as Luffy’s first two members.

But gosh I was wrong. They had given us so much more! Scenes and dialogues that were ‘what ifs’ before were given life. We’ve been given a deeper insight on how their dynamics work and how they tried to truly understand each other and how they understood each other in the process. Their banters are peak interactions. They never missed a shot with each other. They are in sync in a weird and unconventional way. They both like to move alone and they are very untrusting yet they actually hit it off, even if they usually contradict each other.

Shipping aside, Zoro and Nami actually have a great low-key, underrated, minimally explored friendship. They work so well together especially when it comes to the crew and with their captain. These two completely balances Luffy out and can interchange roles when it comes to reigning him in and making him listen.

I’m glad the live action gave it a chance and explored it. I appreciated them even more.

being a poly shipper coming into one piece is incredible. Luffy is aroace and still in a relationship with all his nakama. Zoro and Nami are queer platonic partners. Vivi and Nami are primary long distance. They all juggle being Luffy’s cuddle partner because he’s insatiable. It still takes sanji and Zoro years to get together despite all this. Usopp is the only monogamous person on board.
