I thought maybe you could love me like you used to. Even though I'm... different.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Genre: Angst
Prompt: you were sent on a mission to kill an upper moon but unfortunately did not return leaving everyone to assume you were killed on that mission. three years later your s/o is sent in a mission to kill a demon wreaking havoc on a small village, how will they react when they find out that demon is you? And how will they react if you ask them if they could still love you?
Tl;dr: Kny characters reacting to you being a demon/ asking them if they could still love you even if you’re different
Giyuu
- The day you were presumed dead was the day Giyuu felt like a part of him had died as well, you were everything to him, the first good thing he had in a long long time
- Before meeting you Giyuu hated everything including himself and he hated seeing another day but once you were in his life, you made him want to continue living and he truly believed he would have a bright and happy future with you
- He couldn’t accept your death and move on, he grieved for you from sun rise to sunset and would constantly wish it was him that was sent on that dangerous mission instead, that it was him that had died not you
- Giyuu has always been extremely good at controlling his emotions, always carrying a blank expression to hide his true feelings
- But now, with you who he thought was dead, standing in front of him pupils now like slits, innocent human blood on your hands, face, as well as on your fangs and claws that were not there before
- He couldn’t hide his utter shock, his whole body shuts down and he looks at you eyes widen, and mouth slightly agape trying to piece together what he was seeing, he let his guard was down, if Giyuu wasn’t the love of your life you could have easily killed him
- He feels hurt and confused because the person who he was grieving everyday for was in fact alive but was the thing he hated most in this world
- You use this moment to explain everything that happened, from the day you were sent off on the mission to the moment you were turned into a demon adding emphasis on how you tried to control your killing urges for the longest time but failed
- He listened, or rather stayed completely silent through the entire thing, his face still in shock and his eyes constantly scanning your body mainly your claws and fangs to see if his eyes weren’t playing tricks on him
- You end it off with asking for forgiveness and if he could still love you like he used to even if you were… different
- When he heard those words he snaps out of his haze ,for a minute he sees you, the human version of you no claws, fangs, blood and no slit pupils, just you
- Giyuu had lost so many important people including you in his life and he would do anything if he could just spend five more minutes with them, hold them one last time and now in a way he’s giving that chance
- His heart sinks and his facial features soften , he looks like he’s on the brink of tears. He quietly calls your name and reaches out with his hand to touch yours
- However he quickly pulls away when your finger tips were only an inch away
- If he were to be honest he does think he would still be able to love you…. even as a demon but he wishes you didn’t spill blood during your time as one
- Giyuu would have took you in if your hands were still clean even if it meant breaking corps rules, even if it meant having to go into hiding away from other slayers, even if it meant putting himself in danger for trying to take care of you. He would do it all if it meant he still had you
- But it wasn’t that way….you were a threat and he has no other choice but to kill you it was his job after all
- He takes a step back from you not because he’s afraid but because he needs to collect his thoughts
- Once he does he tightly grips his sword and his face goes to the cold blank one he always seems to carry but never used on the old you
- He is able to look you dead in the eyes and say no, his icy blue eyes shooting like daggers into you
- With an emotionless tone he says he could never love a murderer before going in for the kill
- He does it smoothly and quickly your head was cut off one time
- He would stand there and wait until your body completely vanished but even when you were gone , Giyuu still felt this intense sadness for you, that part of him that left when he thought you died was still gone
- He didn’t feel closure, despite you becoming a demon there was a small part of him that still loved you so he decided to take your haori adding a piece of the fabric to the one he was wearing so he could always keep you with him
Kyōjurō
- Like with Giyuu he is extremely shocked by this, seeing you his s/o now a demon, his enemy
- Kyōjurō can’t help but pause and just stare, a million thoughts enter his head at once
- He thinks back to the day he found out you “died”, how he was extremely heartbroken and how it took him a long time to get back on his feet
- He thinks about when he finally did come to terms with your death how he’s been trying his best to keep your name alive by constantly talking about you and your brave work as a demon hunter
- But now he feels betrayed since this entire time he’s been trying to keep the name of a murderer alive
- He knows he shouldn’t blame himself since he didn’t know of this, but he can’t help but feel upset with himself for praising you all while your were taking away innocent lives he felt as though he was disrespecting your victims and victim’s families
- He finally snaps out of his daze and is pulled from his thoughts when you call his name you were concerned as to why he hasn’t said a word since he found you
- He shakes his head and curses at himself for losing focus in the middle of a battle
- He is a highly trained demon hunter he isn’t supposed to space out especially in front of a demon
- Yes… he is already labeling you as a demon and not as the human he once loved
- The reason why he is already convinced of this is because it is clear to him that you seem to still have some of your memories from your human life as a demon hunter and of him
- He thinks this because when he found you you didn’t attack and called out his name with teary eyes
- So he knows that you knew you were killing people but still didn’t stop yourself
- How he wished you didn’t, he wished that your mind was soiled and you remembered nothing of your human life even if it also meant not remembering him, then that way he could have remorse for you since you didn’t know what you were doing
- When you ask him if he could still love you like he use to even if you were different with tears streaming down your face
- He looks away unable to look you in the eyes , his eyes are downcast and you swear there’s a dullness to his usual bright red-orange eyes, his lips are formed into a frown opposed to being in the usual bright smile you loved so much
- He wishes he could hold you and wipe away those tears from your eyes he wishes he could still love you even as a demon
- But he can’t, he can’t love you even if he tried
- He feels guilty about the fact that he doesn’t have that fuzzy and warm feeling inside of him he always had whenever he looked at you, all he feels now is emptiness
- But he will admit those feelings did exist before, you were the love of his life once upon a time so he’ll give you this
- He opens his arms, signaling for you to come
- When you’re in his arms he squeezes you tightly as you cry apologizing for hurting all those people and he tells you he’s sorry too, sorry he no longer loves you, suddenly you feel like your entire body was heating up and you felt the sharp nichirin blade cut through your neck easily slicing your head off, you could feel your body slowly burn and turn to ash
- The hug wasn’t meant for who you were now but for who you use to be the sweet, kind, innocent human he loved and would sacrifice anything for
- He holds you close as you turn into ash basking in the last moments he has with you
- You’re happy he’s the last thing you feel before you die but the the same time heartbroken knowing that the person you loved most in the world didn’t feel the same

Hiya yone! Recently my brain has been infested with bugs that want me to make a Circe Nico AU (Nico is Circe?? Kinda.) You are the glorious fanfic writer who can conjure up anything from anything, so please do your magic.
I'll try my best, however I only know like. 2 stories about Circe at best? So please don't put too much trust in me lol 😅😅
The first one is when Odysseus visits her during his return voyage to Ithaca. I forgot most of it (typical me) except that she turns his crew into animals, which Odysseus managed to convince her to undo and if I'm not mistaken, they live together for a while?? Let's just go with it.
As for this story, I think it would fit best with Jasico? Mainly bc they have that sort of enemies-to-lovers air (Jason distrusted Nico at first). Jason is best fit to be a returning hero, too. Though the Cupid debacle is like heaven and earth with mere convincing on Odysseus' part, I reckon we can work around it with enough maneuver. Why does Nico accept to turn them back? - Maybe he's feeling generous, maybe he's a petulant lonely witch who wants people to stay but never knows how to voice it, and ppl often run at the first sight of him, so he just turns them into animals to keep them by her side.
In the end, Odysseus leaves Circe. This aligns well with the fact that Jason just dropped dead shortly after he and Nico became friends. Which is a funny (and depressing thought) if you put thoughts into it. Which I can't atm lmoa.
Anw. think of it as a piece of quiet Jason has given Nico in the expanse of his loneliness. That, though he was swept away by the natural order of things at the end, Jason did try his best to alleviate Nico's pain. So I reckon there should be a little bit of affection - if not love - in there.
The second story is, well, Circe and Scylla. And the male lover whose name I forget.
This is a classic case of jealousy - so who fits it better than Percy, the canon epitome of every jealous trope in the history of fiction?
sorry that was my pettiness talking. Anywayyyyy, I suppose I don't need to talk about this... I mean it's pretty clear who is who and how the story transpires: Circe is in love with that-something-sea-god, who is in love with Scylla, so Circe turns her into a monster. The only difference between Circe and Nico in this is that he doesn't do anything to Annabeth (even refuses to hate her still. gosh).
But that wouldn't be Percico, is it? So I say just say fuck it and make Percy a sea monster or something Idk. A witch living secluded in an island with his beloved sea monster? I'm in.
Another choice would be to make Annabeth the bad one but I'm in no position to make that propose.
If you still want to keep the story, and if you're any of an unhinged person like me, just make Nico the villain. Well, Circe is the villain in this story, yeah? Embrace it - Nico as the powerful witch, whose loneliness-induced jealousy wreaks havoc on even a sea god. What's left is not love - because love is the last thing Yone needs in fanfics srsly - but an impression of terror, of how disastrous Nico's love can be.
The concepts mix well in this case btw. I remember a painting of Circe pouring a plate filled with poison into the sea. Just imagine it - a blinding blackness spreading rapidly across the lapping water with just a touch of Nico's dainty finger. The shadows overlap with the roaring waves - the black undercurrents raging all the same - and darkness swallows all those whom he call enemies. If Percy's the sea and Nico's the lightless bottom, dark, mysterious, and full of threats.
That's everything I have atm, I guess. Sorry for not being able to help much :(((

Hi! I wanted to say that I absolutely love your aus and stories! I was actually able to read all of the sleuth jesters’s main story as they came out and they were an absolute blast to read (along with your mermaid one shots and Dreams Deep Below the Waves).
Aside from that, I have been thinking about the “devil eyes” au. I know that someone already proposed a loony tunes-like alternative, but may I propose a y/n who gets fed up with Eclipse after a while of him moving and taking stuff in their apartment? Like they get so irritated by him that he becomes more so a nuisance than a general threat (they are still scared of him but they’re more annoyed than scared).
Y/n eventually gets so fed up with constantly having to find stuff that they actually begin writing notes to Eclipse with the first one being:
“Dear Animatronic that keeps breaking into my house,
I humbly request you stop moving my stuff around my apartment and taking my shirts. It is incredibly annoying to walk into your apartment only to stub your toe on the table that was moved two inches closer to the doorway. Just yesterday, I spent two hours looking for my favorite book only to realize that it has been taken from my home completely. Now, I don’t mind sharing my books, but if you could leave a note when you take something I would appreciate it. Also, I would like my academy shirt back.
Sincerely,
Officer Y/N”
Sorry for the long ask, but I really enjoy your works and playing around with scenarios for them.
-Qe
I like to think Eclipse leaves a shirt he had stolen with a message telling Y/N to re-wear it so their smell is back on the cloth, which, yikes, but the officer figures out that there are rules to the game and yeah, its annoying to have things missing and stolen, but if they play along, it's easier to deal with than the random havoc of finding things gone.
They wear the shirt. Things come back that they had missed. They write another note, and something else is left on it with a new message of what he wants to be done, like putting these blood-red flowers in a vase on the table, but when they comply, they get back their missing books.
That doesn't make it any easier knowing that when they next take off the shirt, he'll come back for it when they're unaware and when he so pleases.
It's never easier.

Wouldn’t Wūzhīqí make a better dark counterpart/opposite to Wùkōng? Six-Eared Macaque seemed more like an evil What-If.
I do think there is a difference between a counterpart and an opposite. A counterpart is something that completes another person. and an opposite is a person or thing that is totally different from or the reverse of someone or something else.
Wuzhiqi sadly does not have a lot of lore around them to be a proper counterpart to Wukong, nor would it be fair to deprive them of their individuality for the sake of this story where the Six Ears is meant to be Wukong’s doppelgänger. Six Ears is an evil what if but that is what makes him the best counterpart to Wukong as well. Six Ears isn't meant to be the opposite of Wukong, he is meant to be his foil. Exactly like him in every way but choosing every wrong path to instill fear into Wukong of what he could be. Wuzhiqi rather is what Wukong could never be, which could be argued as a better 'opposite' would take away the impact of being a good counterpart.
Wuzhiqi is a great character but from what I have seen is more treated like a force of nature rather than a deliberate opponent. Wuzhiqi has a nature of chaos within them but it seems to be treated as a part of their nature rather than a conscious choice for them to wreak havoc due to any hubris or ego they might have. Not saying they that can't have that but it is just never explored enough to be anything concrete. It is very vague even on even what Wuzhiqi's crimes as they were mostly seen to cause flooding or bring trouble to sailers but it never seems to be out of malice but rather just in their nature as a water spirit.
Similarly, both Wuzhiqi and the Six Ears both do not have a connected past with Wukong. I think that there are too many disconnects to really hone in on how Wuzhiqi is supposed to be “evil” one, but rather I see that about is how Wuzhiqi could be seen as the “defeated” one. With Wuzhiqi, their story is set up that they were born to cause destruction while in the case with the Six Ears he is meant to show what Wukong would be if he kept choosing to be destructive.
This could lead to a different but still wonderful literary analysis about the difference between "born evil" and "becoming evil" and comparing how Wuzhiqi is framed to be a beast that is meant to be captured and contained and how this point of view is forced on Wukong in a similar manner. When Wukong commits a crime he is treated the same as Wuzhiqi where heaven's only goal is to capture and contain him. But where Wuzhiqi's story ends, Wukong's story is just beginning as he is given a second chance, proving that he isn't a mindless beast that needs to be caged but rather he is capable of self-reflection and understanding his actions have consequences. We get that deeper level of understanding and even humanity with Wukong.
Wuzhiqi isn't given a sympathetic viewpoint, but rather to be treated more as a flat character. While Six Ears isn't given a lot of backstory, we are given that he is a spiritual monkey. While he is undoubtedly mean to be Wukong's evil 'what if' he is still created in a frame that he is his own person, and thus has his own choices that he has made. He is meant to be seen to have the exact same tools as Wukong, and the same conscious awareness. He is meant to be the worst aspects of Wukong but only because he made those CHOICES to where he is. Six Ears is meant to show a Wukong that doesn't change his ways, and always chooses to do wrong when he knows better. Six Ears is unique in that he is always meant to show the worst parts of Wukong and while Wukong may NOT be like, he is it as a warning that he COULD be like that. That is what makes him a counterpart, showing all of Wukong's parts and he still is able to face the worst of himself.
Wuzhiqi could offer a different threat to Wukong but still in a similar way. The idea is that while Wukong isn't born "evil" such as the Wuzhiqi is described but rather that he has the choice to do evil. Wuzhiqi is never given an inner monologue or much of a backstory but we are given the idea that Wuzhiqi is a demon that was born out of nature and is doing what comes naturally, thus having Yu the Great having to come down to stop them. There is no hope for redemption for Wuzhiqi cannot change what they are, a flood demon.
Wukong on the other hand could be forced to face that he isn't the same. That he can't blame his nature for why he is what he is, and yes he is a yaoguai who grew up around other yaoguai, but he is still an intelligent and emotionally competent man who, in the end of the day, made his own choices that lead him to where he is. He chooses to be antagonistic and undermine heaven at every turn. Mostly done under impulsive choices where he didn't think it though, but he can't blame anyone else when he was the one that he didn't think his actions through. That is where Six Ears is meant to represent that side of Wukong that keeps choosing to make mistakes even when he knows better, but can't let go of his own ego or pride.
Wuzhiqi has the excuse that they are following their nature, but Wukong has to fight their impulses every day to do good. This could be a good point that Wuzhiqi could show what Wukong could never be, a mindless yaoguai who is a slave to their impulses and only looking for destruction. But because Wukong was never meant to be framed as such, as it would take away the impact of being a solid counterpart to Wukong. Rather he needed a foil character that is similar to him, another demon that is meant to represent Wukong's choices in life, rather than saying it was in his nature. To blame Wukong's nature for what he is would be taking away agency from his choices, and that is why Six Ears is meant to be a good counterpart by showing that 'what-if' side of himself.
At most the greatest similarity these two have is definitely how they are trapped under the mountain however, while Wukong was able to gain another chance and find redemption Wuzhiqi is still under the mountain and being guarded because they cannot change. It is because of that lack of agency that Wuzhiqi is given that they couldn't be utilized to the fullest extent to show Wukong's actions having consequences. They could offer a good insight into what a true mindless beast would be like and what stereotypes Wukong is forced to face with but there Six Ears offer more of that interpretation battle within Wukong of facing the worst aspects of himself that wouldn't be able to find within Wuzhiqi.

cute concept of phil and missa intimately dancing together post-prison break as a way to quietly reconnect and still be close to one another without the weighing need of conversation, just the others presence and while they're having their moment, they hear crashing sounds coming from the side and see chayanne messing with the machine ramon had put for the potato farm. missa yells in worry and immediate runs to him (not mentioning how they were busy) but phil just adores the way his kid was causing issues as it makes him feel just at home, constantly having things needing to be fixed and someone to watch over to make sure they don't falter in the process - 💿
Phil being able to let Missa touch him after so long spent being afraid of it. Finally being able to spend this time with his family and feel safe. When Missa holds him, it's not a threat. After so long of having pain as a "comfort" he finally has a soft touch to lean into
And when Chayanne wreaks havoc and Missa rushes to help, he feels at home. Phil had no idea he would miss this. The simple chaos that Chayanne brought, Missa's endless worry. Missa was far from the strongest protector, but he was a protector nonetheless. Not only for Chayanne, but Phil too
And even if Phil hates to be seen as weak and treated like he's incapable, he knows that's not Missa's intent. Missa doesn't think he's weak, he just wants him to be happy. They protect each other. They're a family

This week saw the release of yet another episode of "My Adventures with Superman", and as always I wanted to share my thoughts on it. These past two episodes have really been getting weirder and adapting some of the more 'out there' elements of superhero comics. Feels strange since the first few episodes seem to promise a more grounded tone and yet in this episode Mr Mxyzptlk, the mischievous fifth dimensional imp, is introduced to this universe, we find out that this universe is part of (sigh) a multiverse, and that there are other versions of Superman and Lois running around in those universes. It's a wild direction for the show to take, however I do think the episode itself is a bit stronger than the previous one, though I do have some quibbles.
Tumblr media
So with that let's jump into episode 7 of "My Adventures with Superman" (spoilers to follow) :
- Superman takes Lois and Jimmy to his spaceship and fortress (?) in Smallville to let them learn a little bit more about him. I find it interesting that so far, Superman still doesn't seem too curious about where he came from and what he is. Heck, Jimmy and Lois are more interested in that than Clark himself. Maybe I'm reading too deep into that, but this does remind me of "Superman Smashes the Klan" - in that comic, Superman is reluctant to really engage with his alien origins because they're a strong reminder of how different and unique he is from ordinary people, and his character arc revolves around him eventually accepting his unique alien nature.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MAWS's version of the character is also self conscious about his alien nature, and this episode reminds us of that. Could this show be building up to a similar character arc for Superman ? I certainly hope so, because I loved that character arc in that comic.
- It was hilarious to see both Clark and Lois fret over the date that they were supposed to have in this episode. So far, this show is tearing apart the notion that Superman is "unrelatable" with its dorky and endearing take on the character. I also appreciate that Lois is trying to find out more about Superman's origins because she wants to help him. It's just a sweet moment.
- So this episode introduces Mxyzptlk, and the idea of the multiverse, AND the idea that there are other versions of Lois Lanes patrolling the multiverse. This episode runs at a break neck speed, and I have to wonder if non-comic fans were able to keep up with it considering how "out there" these elements are. Although I guess even casual fans are familiar with the concept of the multiverse thanks to movies like 'Into the Spider-Verse', 'Dr Strange : the Multiverse of Madness' and 'Everything Everywhere All at Once'.
- I was super hyped about this episode because I heard that it was going to introduce Mxyzptlk who is one of my favorite Superman antagonists.
Tumblr media
For those of you that don't know, Mxyzptlk is a Fifth-dimensional magical being who has the power to alter reality itself and often uses those abilities to wreak havoc whenever he comes across Superman. You can think of him as a more powerful version of Loki from the Marvel Universe. His powers are seemingly limitless and there is absolutely nothing that Superman can do to physically harm him. The only way to defeat him is by getting him to say his own name backwards, which will banish him back to his own dimension for an extended period of time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luckily, while Mxyzptlk is all-powerful, he is also super gullible, which makes it easy for Superman to trick him and defeat him over and over again. He's just one of those comic book characters that so charming and fun, and I'm happy to say that this show has an excellent take on him. He's fun, he's funny, he can come across as a dangerous threat in one scene, only to turn into a total goofball in the next scene. He's great and I especially love the idea that Mxyzptlk has come across different versions of Superman and Lois. This means that Mxyzptlk can run circles around the characters because he seems to know more about them than they do about themselves. It almost feels like Mxyzptlk is a twisted self-insert for the audience, especially for those who have seen different Superman adaptations and are excited to compare and contrast those versions with this cartoon.
- While I loved the show's take on Mxyzptlk, I have to say, I'm not thrilled about the multiverse aspect of this episode. I think a lot of people are getting tired of multiverse stories in general, and I definitely fall in that camp. Why do so many stories feel the need to establish a multiverse in the first place ? What ever happened to stories that could be self-contained and stand on its own merits ? Why does everything need to be connected to everything ? It doesn't help that multiverse stories often end up pandering to the audience with cheap nostalgia and fanservice. Spider-Man: No Way Home is the perfect example of this where the entire plot of the movie is just an excuse to drop in as many references and call backs to previous Spider-Man movies as possible. Thankfully, this episode of 'MAWS' keeps the nostalgia pandering to a minimum, though I still rolled my eyes at the references to the Fleischer and DCAU Superman. Those stories just feel less special when they're all connected in a grand multiverse. I also have to criticize the entire 'council of Lois Lanes' plot since it seems a little derivative of the main plot of 'Across the Spider-Verse'. Overall, I would have preferred it if they just cut that entire plot element out entirely and just had Mxyzptlk as the sole antagonist. You can still play with the idea of him being a dimension hopper, but the multiverse trope can be downplayed and limited only to his character.
- While I may have some gripes about this episode, it's still pretty good in how it handles the characters. I love how active Lois is in this episode, she's constantly moving the plot along, standing up for Superman when she needs to and working with him and Jimmy to take down Mxyzptlk while also evading the other Lois Lanes. This episode ends up sealing the deal when it comes to the Clark and Lois romance as the two finally share a kiss, and its a cute moment.
- This episode ends on a cliffhanger with Lois finding out that there are other versions of Superman in other universes, and unfortunately a lot of those Supermen appear to be evil. I griped about the multiverse aspect of this episode, but it seems like this show is using it to tackle the "evil Superman" trope that has become so popular in the past few years, and honestly - if this show ends up giving a giant middle finger to that tired old trope, I will take back all of my complaints.
So that's the seventh episode of 'My Adventures with Superman'. Despite my complaints, I still liked it and am excited to see more of it. I think I am going to skip the episode next week since I've heard that it's a two-parter and I would rather watch it in its entirety in the following week instead of watching it one episode at the time. It seems like the next few episodes will pay off all the plot threads that the show has set up, and I cannot wait to see how that turns out.

If there’s one thing universally agreed upon by high schoolers, it’s this: field trips are fun. Or at least they should be, in theory.
Instead of being locked in a classroom for eight hours a day, you get to go outside, cause some havoc, you know, the usual.
Your other teachers end up being nice because you cried to them that between all your classes and this field trip, you need an extra week on that paper that you’ve had assigned for three months and you haven’t started and is due tomorrow for a reason.
And, most of the time, as an extra bonus, you learn absolute jack shit.
The only problem arises when the teacher that is taking you on the trip seems to forget that part and forces you to actually pay attention with the threat of a quiz, and knowing him, he’s going to make it absolutely horrendous.
Yes, dinosaurs are badass but having to listen to your teacher read the plaques out loud makes gouging your eyes out seem like a good course of action.
Are we completely sure the teachers here have a 100 percent literacy rate? Garwin wonders, rolling his eyes as Sweeney struggles through another scientific name. I mean, knowing this school system, it would not surprise me.
There’s a couple of nerds taking notes but honestly there’s no chance. If there is a quiz, it’ll be the type of thing that’s “What year, exactly, did the cretaceous era end?” And the multiple choice options will all be around that 66 million years ago mark ingrained in everyone’s soul but you have to remember that science was able to determine the meteor fell on a Thursday and from that you have to extrapolate what the date would have been.
Can a meteor fall on us this today Thursday? That’d be great. No more AP exams.
And yeah, AP classes are supposed to have a curve, but with that little photographic memory of Dophie’s only half paying attention and half listening to MCR so loud it can be heard from three miles away, she’s gonna get a perfect score.
Case in point: Sweeney finally hears Gerard screaming and catches onto the fact that Sophie is completely ignoring his existence, per usual.
“Miss Foster!” He yanks her earbuds out by the cords. “Have you decided that you’re too smart to pay attention to this information?”
Well, she can probably legit get a zero on the final and still carry a 93 in the class. So I’d probably say the answer is yes. I think we all know that little smartass corrects Sweeney on a daily basis.
Between the typos and the shit he gets plain wrong, it was entertaining to see him flounder at the beginning of the year, but at this point she doesn’t seem to grasp the idea that everyone’s given up on the lost cause of a man.
This entire class has all had to suffer through more school than she’s been alive. Other than the dumbass sophomores in the class. But it wouldn’t be surprising to find out they were smoking weed in the back of class for a “science experiment.”
Ah, the things you can get away with in AP Enviro Science and a teacher that doesn’t care. Except about the toddler in his class who listens to music but hey. Maybe he’s insecure because he’s stupid and he has to maintain control over some aspect of his life.
Sophie mumbles something, denying it as she attempts to retract into her shell like a turtle. Unfortunately, humans don’t usually come with a shell, so she isn’t very successful.
“Then perhaps you can explain why you were listening to your iPod instead of following along?” Sweeney dangles the headphones in front of her as she rips out an eyelash.
Now, Garwin may have only gotten a 2 on the AP Psych exam last year because he only paid attention half the time because those daily quizzes were ass, but that doesn’t seem like the healthiest of coping mechanisms.
Sophie simply stares at the ground to pretend like Sweeney isn’t harassing her.
“Since you’ve decided you’re above this lecture, why don’t you give it?” Sweeney asks, gesturing to the definitely-accurate reconstruction of an orange hadrosaur. “Explain to the class how the Lambeosaurus differs from the other dinosaurs we’ve studied.”
You see, one of these was the Pteranodon family’s neighbor on Dinosaur Train. Larry Lambeosaurus was an endless pit that never seemed to fill with food, much like the average teenager. Unlike the average teenager, however, this may have something to do with his diet of tree and its caloric density, or lack thereof.
Instead of listening to Sophie rattle off dinosaur facts learned from a lifetime of being a fucking nerd, Garwin chooses to look at literally anything else for some scrap of entertainment.
Like, for example, the Albertosaurus. And imagining it coming to life and eating everybody à la Jurassic Park. That would be fun.
Sweeney gets increasingly pissed off as she keeps going. He really should’ve learned long ago to not challenge her ‘cause it ain’t gonna go well for him. He mutters something under his breath, and turns to go to the next increasingly stupid dinosaur.
Actually, Garwin takes that back. The dinosaurs themselves aren’t stupid. It’s the whole idea of having to get dragged to a place to forcefully learn about them instead of actually studying for the AP exam in less than two weeks. Not that he actually cares about that though.
“Nice job, superfreak,” he says to Sophie as she stands helplessly in the middle of the walkway. He pushes past her in an effort to appear engaged enough to not get another detention. “Maybe they'll write another article about you. 'Child Prodigy Teaches Class About the Lame-o-saurus.’”
Garwin’s gaze lands on someone reading the newspaper with Sophie’s face plastered across it. Yeah, the guy’s kinda cute with dark hair and teal eyes flicking up at Sophie ever so often…but, like, he’s probably freshman-ish years old and that’s kinda weird in the middle of the school day, not gonna lie.
And he isn’t in this class, that’s for sure. So he’s probably ditching. Kind of a dumb move to ditch and then go to a museum but hey. That’s his life choice and it’s not Garwin’s fault it’s stupid.
Garwin rolls his eyes as he moves into the next room. The desire to cause large amounts of property damage by climbing up the statues is immense, but, alas, one cannot succumb to temptation.
Their resident curvebuster doesn’t follow, and, honestly, that is a choice. Maybe if she gets eaten by a dinosaur or kidnapped with the guy pulling a Ferris Bueller, this class might know peace once again.
A not-small part of him could not give less of a shit if she disappears suddenly, and another not-small part of him can’t help but see the advantages. Maybe then we won’t all fail the class. It’s not like San Diego City College is going to miss her. Chances are, she’ll be the same to her unfortunate classmates there.
As the group shuffles around a reconstruction of a Triceratops, Sweeney begins droning on and on and on and on about the different types of ceratopsians, and it’s a damn fucking shame the one with three horns became famous instead of, like, the Kosmoceratops.
That fucker’s got fifteen horns and it’s common knowledge that an animal’s coolness is exponentially correlated with number of things that it has that can kill you.
In order to quell the rising tide of complete and total apathy, Garwin once again begins the search for something--anything--interesting to occupy his time.
And don’t you know it? There’s a hot guy hiding in a corner trying desperately not to be seen.
Between him and the kid reading the newspaper in the other room, something weird is definitely going down. So the obvious course of action is to walk up to the guy and see what’s up. Maybe even flirt a little. As soon as he can escape from Sweeney’s torture chamber, that is.
In the meantime, Garwin can still stare at him. He has dark hair gelled to perfection and light blue eyes. His eyelashes are visible from this massive distance away, so they must be super long and therefore super hot. Garwin’s fingers ache to trace his sharp square jaw and his skin is a light tan with a dusting of freckles for good measure.
In short, he’s absolutely fucking gorgeous.
He’s way too far to be certain, but he kind of does look like newspaper boy…for reasons that are as of right now indescribable other than sheer vibes.
And he’s wearing a black batman sweatshirt--a foolish decision on a partially sunny day such as today--that hangs in such a way to suggest he’s got some muscles hiding beneath it.
The world would be improved in many ways if that sweatshirt was a little less on.
Then, suddenly, by some miracle, some grace of god, Sweeney lets them explore for themselves. An argument could be made that he realized that no one was paying attention, but the more likely case is that he got tired of teaching and is now allowing them the slightest sliver of freedom to maximize his own laziness.
Garwin floats over to the guy in the corner as nonchalantly as possible as his traitorous heart is doing backflips in his chest. He was tall from a distance, but he’s even taller up close.
“Hey,” he says. Hey? Hey? That’s the most creative thing you could come up with? A cheesy pickup line would be better at this point.
“Hey yourself.” Guy-in-the-corner says with the slightest hint of a smirk. “I’m Alvar, what’s your name?”
Garwin is almost too distracted by Alvar’s thick accent--almost British, but somehow crisper--to remember his own name. “I’m Garwin. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Do you really think they looked like that?” Alvar asks. “The dinosaurs, I mean. It’s a little absurd, isn’t it?”
“Would you rather have the nerd answer or do you want the smartass answer?” Garwin replies.
“Who says I don’t want both?”
“Ah. Well then. The nerd answer is that at least some of them should have feathers. They are the ancestors to birds, after all. The fact that none of them do is a little yikes. And as for my other answer, I’m not a paleontologist, but,” Garwin points to a fossilized sauropod…or at least a skeleton of one that may or may not be real, “that one might be a tad bit skinny.”
Alvar laughs, a glorious sound. His eyes wander away from studying Garwin, focusing out of the room, landing on Sophie fucking Foster.
Ah, yes. First she gets into Yale without even trying and now she’s gained the attention of multiple people which depending on the intentions could be really fucking creepy. She’s literally twelve. This is complete and utter bullshit.
“Is that the kid on the front of the newspaper today?”
    “Yeah,” Garwin replies bitterly.
Alvar makes a thoughtful sound and looks back at Garwin, who has begun leaning against the wall. Yes, there’s a plastic fern between them but you do what you can.
“Come on, Fitz. Don’t be a total dumbass,” Alvar whispers as newspaper boy--Fitz--begins to step away from Sophie.
A swarm of kindergarteners barreled into the exhibit, nearly knocking both Sophie and Fitz off their feet. They hold their heads in their hands like their brains are physically getting stabbed and when they make eye contact again, Sophie watches Fitz in fear.
Why that is, Garwin can’t tell, but there’s something in Alvar’s expression that seems like he suspects something, and Garwin would give anything--except a full ride scholarship to Yale--to know what he does.
In the time Garwin spends studying Alvar’s features for clues and getting lost in his eyes, Sophie has magically disappeared. Fitz swears, probably loud enough to be heard all the way at the zoo across the street, as he runs after her.
Alvar rolls his eyes. “Life choices. Do I run after my dumbass of a brother or do I leave him be? Decisions, decisions,” he asks himself.
    What the fuck?
Garwin looks back at Alvar to find him already watching him. “Would you like me to go tell Sweeney or just…let her skip class?” And probably get murdered just a little bit.
It takes a good few seconds for him to process this request. “Eh, I’m sure he’ll notice sooner or later.”
Oh my fucking god this guy is fucked up. I don’t like Sophie, but I’d rather she not get kidnapped.
…Is it bad that he's still hot?
“Why the fuck are you two harassing Sophie?” The question comes out more forcefully than Garwin intends, but not enough to walk it back.
“That is one very long story and I don’t think you’d believe half of it. But let’s see--how simplified can I get this?” He pauses, formulating. “We’ve basically got a switched at birth situation going on here except we don’t exactly know who her actual parents are and well that’s a whole thing that I’d rather not get into right now. Also we don’t know if she’s actually the kid we’re looking for. And by we I mean mostly our dad but he isn’t here right now because he figured it would be less creepy for us to stare at children than he would be. And then Fitzy over there doesn’t know I’m here for extensive and even more complicated reasons. And he wasn’t supposed to interact with her. Problems all around.”
Garwin considers this explanation for a moment. On the one hand, it leaves him with more questions than answers, and on the other hand, he doesn’t really care enough to ask for further elaboration.
“Just don’t murder Sophie. I don’t need to see her on the front cover of the newspapers that should already be obsolete two days in a row,” he decides.
Alvar smiles. His teeth are brilliantly white, and it’s ever so slightly crooked in such a perfect way that makes it seem practiced. His cobalt eyes fix Garwin to the spot as they turn toward each other.
“And, um, before I go, I do immensely apologize if I’m reading this wrong, but would you like to go out with me sometime?”
“Why the hell else do you think I wandered over here? Absolutely.”
Instead of giving Garwin his phone number like a normal person by writing it on a sticky note or the back of his hand with a sharpie that doesn’t come off for a week or just directly typing it into their phone, Alvar comes equipped with a stack of business cards.
And honestly, it’s not even that surprising. Like, yes, he’s only known the guy for a grand total of fifteen minutes, but that tracks with what he knows so far…which isn’t much. But it still counts. Bitch.
Garwin smiles. “I’ll call you and set up details when I can look at my calendar and I’m not already busy with club meetings and shit.”
    “Sounds good.”
After a short pause, Alvar opens his mouth to say something else, but he’s interrupted by Sweeney’s nasal whining before he gets the chance.
Garwin rolls his eyes. “I guess I should get back to the fucked up reality that is the American school system. See you later.”
    “Bye,”  Alvar replies, smiling.
Garwin makes his way back to the class reforming around Sweeney like a slime mold, taking his sweet time to not seem too eager to be going back to the hellhole that is occasionally referred to as a school but not dicking around so much he gets left, as making his way back there himself would be mildly inconvenient.
And we can’t have that, now, can we?
Garwin looks back into the corner to sneak one more glance at the indescribably attractive boy who has for some reason asked him out only to find that he’s nowhere to be found.
Was he just a figment of my imagination?
Garwin checks his back pocket, hissing as the sharp edges of a business card leave him with a paper cut.
    Guess that solves that mess.
Now if only all the world’s problems could be solved so easily, we’d be onto something.

A/N: well..... I still feel like this is only the surface of all the dark things I could do... *blinks innocently* P.S. sorry San... again...
Tumblr media
You strutted down the hallway, your clothes flowing behind you from the quick pace. Small, floating orbs illuminated your path in the otherwise empty area. Just like your body, your mind raced all over the place, worry gnawing at your insides.
You shouldn’t worry nor should you mind the situation, yet you couldn’t stop caring. You knew at the end of the hallway, behind a spiritual portal, was someone you shouldn’t associate with.
Someone, who was known to be a villain, a threat to Utopia. Someone, who lit up buildings for fun, created havoc and chaos wherever he went and didn’t even fear murdering another spirit. Someone by the name Jeong Yunho.
“Sunshine? What are you doing here?” The concerned voice of San forcefully pulled you out of your thoughts, making you jump in surprise.
You mustered a smile and turned around to face your boyfriend. You hoped the strain of smiling wasn’t as visible as it felt. “Sorry, you surprised me.” You walked over to him and wrapped your arms around his torso, hiding your face from his view. “I’m just worried”, you mumbled, a sigh escaping your lips once San hugged you back and rubbed over your upper arm.
San hummed softly, holding you a little tighter than before. “It must be horrifying being in the same building with such scum.” - You flinched at his choice of words. - “I’m sorry you have to endure this.” San kissed the top of your head and gently guided you away from the portal, oblivious to your inner turmoil.
You shook your head, trying to return to your cheerful self so San wouldn’t become suspicious. “Whatever it takes”, you smiled, masking your pain, “to have a better Utopia.”
San hugged you tightly, cooing even as he nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck. “You really are my sunshine, always so positive and able to endure just anything.” He didn’t notice your distant gaze as your memories resurfaced.
“I am quite bored with you now”, the man drawled, pressing the taser against your shoulder dozens of times. “When will your hero boyfriend show up and save you, huh?”
You couldn’t answer that question, silently thinking the same. You couldn’t even say how long you’ve been chained in the hideout of this man. It only took one torture session for you to lose any kind of orientation.
A groan escaped your lips from just another electric shock. It still hurt but after a while you became faintly numb to the sensations. Your fingertips tingled whenever you moved them a little, which only happened when you tried pulling on your chains. The metal had become warm by now, the sharp edges cutting into your wrists.
You blinked rapidly, tears clouding your vision. If you hadn’t walked home on your own, you wouldn’t be in this position. Actually, if San hadn’t stood you up on your date due to his hero duties, you wouldn’t have walked home alone that night.
“Stop crying”, the man hissed and kicked you in the stomach. “It feels just as bad for me too! I planned all of this and for what? For having a crybaby to my feet. This is not what I wanted!”
You hadn’t realised you were crying loudly, too delirious from all the pain. Another wave of pain shot through your body after you inhaled shakily. You stayed on the ground, the cold wetness feeling almost comforting now.
A deafening explosion behind you, threw the man away from you. He got up again after shaking his head, his gaze roaming the area behind you until they focused on something.
You couldn’t even muster the strength to turn your head, eyes closing every now and then. The edges of your vision filled with black spots while the pain slowly faded away.
The man screamed at something or maybe even someone before something similar to a lightning shot through his thighs, bringing him to his knees.
Your head rolled to one side when someone lifted you up into their arms, holding you close to their body. The warmth emitting from them felt almost uncomfortable compared to the cold you had grown accustomed to.
“Sunshine?”
You shook your head rapidly before you finally found San’s bemused face. You looked at him with wide eyes, waiting for him to repeat whatever he had said.
“Don’t worry so much”, he whispered and kissed your forehead. “Everything’s going to be alright. I’ll have to go though. The council ordered a meeting so we can decide on his future.” San rubbed over your upper arms, looking apologetic.
You smiled wryly and nodded, receiving another kiss from San before he rushed out of the room. He left you standing there, left you fighting your inner demons.
It wasn’t a real fight though. You noticed that as your feet led you back to the portal. This time you didn’t hesitate walking through, finding yourself in a dungeon-like area.
You wrapped your arms around your torso and walked along the iron bars up until the last cell. You stopped in front of it and turned to look at the figure huddled in the corner furthest away from the bars.
For a while your heartbeat seemed to be the loudest source of noise within these walls. The wet floors and the cold creeping along your clothes reminded you of back then, twisting your stomach in nausea. You inhaled deeply as you tried to suppress the upcoming panic attack.
The figure moved slightly, pale face turning towards you and dark eyes boring through your soul. A faint smirk appeared on his lips. “What pleasure do I owe you for this visit, darling?”
You stared at Yunho, contemplating what you should and wanted to say. You bit on your lower lip, knowing you shouldn’t even be here nor be talking to him.
“What’s on your mind, darling?” Yunho asked and stood up, slowly coming towards the bars with his eyes never leaving your face.
“Nothing”, you lied, despite wanting to say ‘everything’.
“Nothing, huh?” Yunho smirked and shook his head. “I can see on your face it’s not nothing, darling.”
You sighed and dropped your arms while you leaned against the bars, resting your head against the cool metal. “Why.”
Yunho patiently waited for you to continue, his smirk now a soft smile. He didn’t rush you nor did he brush everything off after you told him it was nothing.
“Why did you-?” You closed your eyes as more memories flashed through your mind.
“Stay with me, darling”, a deep voice called out to you, all while running somewhere with you in their arms.
You opened your eyes, having trouble keeping them open and focusing on the person carrying you. “Mhm.”
“That’s it, darling. You’re safe now. Nobody can hurt you now! I even made sure that bastard is burning in his own hideout for hurting you.”
Mustering all your strength you turned your head and looked over their shoulder, seeing bright flames licking into the deep blue sky. They danced over the building and the first spirits gathered around it. “Thanks”, you murmured and leaned your head against their shoulder, too tired to comprehend the meaning behind all this.
You looked back up to Yunho, seeing him standing in the middle of his cell with his arms crossed in front of his chest. The chains on his wrist pooled around his feet. You still had trouble seeing him clearly with the dimly lit cell.
A gasp escaped your lips when Yunho beckoned one of the glowing orbs to float closer with a simple movement of his finger. “You’re not supposed to have your powers in here.”
Yunho shrugged with his shoulders, the smirk back on his lips. “I don’t need powers to control a little light.” He chuckled softly upon seeing your pout. “You’re too adorable, darling.”
“Don’t”, you stopped him, holding one hand up and shaking your head to regain your focus. “You’re ignoring my question.”
“You never asked a proper question”, Yunho teased you as he walked closer to the bars, dropping his hands as the chains pulled at his wrist. They pulled them further back with every step he took until he nearly hung on the chains, unable to take even one more step.
There were still several feet between Yunho and the bars and it didn’t even cross your mind to move away. Instead you crossed your arms in front of your chest, slightly turning away from him with a frown adorning your face. “You know what I wanted to ask you.” You glanced at him out of the corner of your eyes, seeing him nod with a smirk on his lips.
“Sadly,” his tone was mockingly, “I’m only able to guess and I wouldn’t want to make assumptions. So, you gotta have to ask me properly, darling.”
Your mouth dropped open in shock and you stared at Yunho in utter bewilderment. “Really?” Though you didn’t intend doing it, your tone came close to whining as you stretched the last syllable.
Before Yunho could tease you some more though, you stopped him again. “No, don’t! Don’t say a thing, please.” Your heart pounded against your ribcage. You gnawed at your lower lip, slowly raising your gaze and looking at Yunho from under your eyelashes. “Why did you save me?”
Yunho’s face brightened up and he stepped back again, wandering around the small space as he tapped his chin in thought. Just before you snapped from being impatient, Yunho spoke up again: “How about this, darling? I’ll tell you when you tell me why you’re here.” He stopped and turned around to look at you, dark eyes boring into yours again.
Cold sweat ran down your back as you stared back at him, unable to tear your eyes away. Why were you here?
“It’s not just because you want an answer before anything happens to me.”
Your eyes widened ever so slightly, hearing Yunho’s statement. He wasn’t teasing or mocking you now. You could see the curiosity - and hope - in his eyes. By now your hearing became fuzzy from the rushing of your blood that blocked any outside noises. Your hands got sweaty while your heart went wild inside your chest.
Part of you knew exactly why you came to see him. You yearned for his attention, yearned for his soft and loving touch - his unconditional love. But your conscience couldn’t allow that. You couldn’t admit that an actual villain had gained access to your heart. Not when you’re supposed to be on the good side.
“Darling.”
You melted a little, hearing his soft voice barely above a whisper.
As if Yunho sensed your turmoil, he walked back to the bars. His face twisted in pain when he tried pulling against his chains. He wanted to touch you, smooth the frown on your face with his thumb. Instead he had to settle on words. “I saved you because I love you.”
“How?” Tears welled up in your eyes, threatening to fall at any given moment. “You don’t even know me.” Your heart cried in pain, bled even, from uttering these words.
“The first time I saw you”, Yunho spoke softly, pulling against his chains and ignoring how they cut into his wrists now, “I immediately knew. We have a lot more in common than you think, darling. There is only one difference between us. You’re the one in a cage.”
You chuckled mirthlessly and wiped over your cheeks. “Says the one trapped in prison”, you mumbled with a scoff, despite silently agreeing with him.
You were caged in, were being pushed down and formed to fit into a role that wasn’t you. And you were sick of it. Sick of trying to be perfect only to feel worthless whenever you made the tiniest mistake.
“I just need one word from you, darling. One word and we’re out of here. One word and I’ll set you free.” Yunho nearly dislocated his shoulders as he leaned as far forward as possible, looking at you with desperate eyes. He silently pleaded with you, silently asked you what you wanted.
“Sunshine! What are you-? Get away from the cell!”
You jumped in surprise and spun around, facing a mortified hero frozen at the end of the hallway. San wasn’t frozen for long though, his face twisting in anger and concern while he crossed the path with large booming steps.
For a split second you wanted to cower and hide, fearing he would hurt you for being here. Still a part of you tried reasoning with your fear, telling it San would never even think about hurting you. Though with the fear carved so deeply into your soul, you only clutched the metal bars and pressed yourself against them, hoping to somehow vanish into thin air.
“Y/N, darling, please.” Yunho begged with you, making your head snap towards him. You looked like a deer caught in the lights of a floating orb.
San nearly stumbled over his own feet when he heard Yunho. He hid the moment of faltering though, channelling his hatred even more instead. “I told you to step away!”
Once he reached you, he grabbed your upper arm and forcefully pulled you away from the bars. His fingers painfully dug into your muscles and a small whimper escaped your lips as you caved into the motion.
“You’re hurting them!” Yunho growled, the chains rattling angrily behind him.
You wanted to turn your head and look at Yunho, now that your back was turned towards him, but San forced you to face him instead.
“Why are you here?”
“I”, you whimpered again, San’s grip making your knees tremble, “I needed answers.”
“Answers for what?” San nearly shook your body when you didn’t reply immediately, growing more and more irritated. “Sunshine, answers for what?”
“Why he saved me and you didn’t!” You cried out, loud sobs ripping through your throat. You clutched your hands in front of your chest, needing to ground yourself again.
“Save you?” San shook his head, blinking rapidly. That was the first time he heard of that.
“Did you even know?” Yunho asked, his chains rattling again, followed by a churning sound. “Did you know someone kidnapped your ‘Sunshine’ and tortured them for three days?”
You looked up at San’s face, seeing the glimmer of surprise in his eyes, before he scoffed and turned his attention back to you. “That guy - no, scum - killed dozens of people. There is no way he would save you. Especially not when you’re my Sunshine.”
San observed you, concern written all over his face now. He saw the light dying in your eyes, expression falling and even though you didn’t move, it felt as if you became distant. The warmth and cosiness he usually felt, slipping through his fingers and vanishing into thin air. “Sunshine?”
You raised your hand and placed it on his wrist, palm growing hotter until San yelped in pain and let go of your arm.
“What the-? What was that for?” San rubbed his wrist with a frown, seeing his skin turning red where you had touched him. “Why did you use your powers against me, Sunshine?”
“You didn’t know”, you stated, voice void of any emotion. You stepped back until you felt the metal bars behind. “You should leave now, San.”
“Leave? What are you talking about?” San followed you, hands already reaching for you again. “Let us go together, Sunshine.”
Before San could touch you though, a loud crashing sound made him stop in his movements. His eyes raised from your face, seeing Yunho now towering behind you, bloody hands wrapped around the metal bars and chains dangling from his cut wrists.
“Y/N!” San called out, trying to pull you away from the bars and away from Yunho but you dodged him. He halted in confusion. “What are you doing? You need to get away from here! I need to protect you!”
“Protect me?” You laughed dryly. “Like you protected me when I got tased over and over again? Like you protected me when I got kicked in the stomach, in the back or in the head? Like you protected me when I got my arms cut open until the skin barely clung to my muscles?” You pushed the fabric of your gown up your arms, revealing the scar littered skin - something San hadn’t noticed either. “I’m sick of you protecting me”, you whispered and pulled the fabric back down, brushing over it in a comforting manner. “You haven’t even noticed, but this Utopia is far from perfect and half of the fault for that lies with the council you worship so much.”
“No, no, no”, San rapidly shook his head, desperation apparent in his voice, “he got into your thoughts! Please, Sunshine, this isn’t you!”
The right corner of your lips raised and you tilted your head to the left. “Sunshine”, you purred, languidly walking around San, amused, his eyes followed you like a small puppy followed its owner, “ever thought about the double edged sword hidden behind that name?”
“What are you talking about? I called you that because you were cheerful, bright and full of warmth!”
“And yet you perfectly showed the other side as well. The side where sunshine blinds you.” You stopped in front of San, looking up into his face as you smiled softly. Still, the pain was visible in your eyes. You raised your hands and cupped his face, stroking your thumbs over his cheeks. “You closed your eyes to so many things, just because the council told you to. They made you blind metaphorically.” You sighed, hesitating momentarily.
“You’re wrong about this”, San whispered, placing his hands on yours, “please, Sunshine.”
A single tear ran down your cheek when your eyes met with San’s, mouthing an apology before you moved your thumbs to his eyes. “I’ll be the one to blind you literally. Whatever it takes for a better Utopia.”
San screamed in pain from the heat emitting from your thumbs. He desperately clawed at your hands and broke down to the ground when you finally let go.
A sob escaped your lips and you pressed your hand over your mouth. You turned away, unable to watch San cowering on the ground and writhing in pain.
Yunho, who had silently watched, broke through the bars and engulfed you in a tight hug, rubbing over your back comfortingly.
“Sunshine? What happened?” San shakily pushed himself up, after hearing the metal bars snap. He waved his hands in front of him, trying to find you. “Are you okay? Sunshine?”
You hid away in Yunho’s chest, feeling the pain ripping you to shreds. You grabbed his shirt, grip so tight your knuckles turned white. How could he ask for your well-being right after you hurt him? How were you supposed to bury the last of your feelings for him when he didn’t hate you now?
“Let’s go”, Yunho murmured into your ear, placing a soft kiss on the crown of your head afterwards. When you nodded, he shot a lightning bolt through the wall, breaking a large hole into it.
You heard an alarm in the distance while Yunho guided you through the hallways away from San and his pleading calls. His voice still rang in your ears when you two left the building.
Once outside Yunho stopped and turned around, setting fire to it with several lightning bolts crashing through the roof. A satisfied grin spread over his face while he watched the flames grow. His attention switched to your face when you shifted in his hold, seeing the same expression he had seen so many years ago. “Almost like the time I first saw you.”
You looked up at Yunho with a puzzled expression, leaning into his chest as you waited for him to elaborate.
“The first building I blew up”, he chuckled, grinning at the memory, “you stood in front of it, looking at it in awe and fascination. No sign of horror or fear like everyone else. That’s when I knew I would love you until my dying breath, darling.”
“But I’m broken.”
“We all are”, Yunho whispered, leaning down and kissing your forehead.
“You would still love me?” Your voice was barely above a whisper, almost drowned out by the roaring of the burning building.
Yunho gently turned you in his hold, raising your head by holding a finger underneath your chin. “I DO love you”, he stated firmly, making sure you kept eye contact with him, “and I would watch all of Utopia go up in flames when it means you might love me back one day, darling.”
A hint of a smile ghosted over your lips as you remembered his gentleness when he nursed you back to health, remembered how he did everything to make it as comfortable for you as possible, remembered how Yunho stayed with you during nights of nightmares, sitting on the cold floor and holding your hand while you tossed and turned in bed. You knew you already loved him back - your heart did, long before your mind and you only needed to accept that fact now. “I do love you back”, you said, sealing the promise with a kiss.

synopsis; park areum is a small journalist who gets mistaken for a sex worker one day. she gets kidnapped and then given to lee jeno, an infamous mafia for creating war and havoc.
warnings; lower caps intended!!, this is part 2/20, action, fighting scenes, short love triangle, mafia romance, cursing/mature language, jeno falls in love hard, !jealous mafia jeno, enemies to lovers, smut!!, makeout scenes, gripping, degrading, praising, jeno is a bit of a dick but we been knew. park areum is a bad bitch <3.
Masterlist of other chapters of the story. | Chapter 3 here.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
areum woke up strapped on a chair, sense of panic gaining over her body because it started to squirm against the restraints on the ankles and wrists behind her body.
she wasn’t alone however. in the mysterious room was the leader it seemed. he sighs, “park areum, twenty three and a newly journalist in the company national korea tv, you don’t seem to have many family members except for a younger brother who is in college.”
areum’s breathe felt ragged with suffocation the more he knew about her. “what do you want bastard?” it came out as a large threat because you shouted towards him. the boy on your left side goes to grab your hair. “watch how you speak to our boss.”
jeno raises his hand, shaking head towards the brunette. “haechan, calm down. afterall isn’t it your fault you brought the wrong person here?” the guy that stood beside you was now looking down on the ground almost ashamed of himself. areum scoffs mockingly.
“ohhh. so now you’re holding someone innocent here? let me go, why am i still being held hostage.” jeno side eyes you, watching haechan go back into the line with the other guards.
areum watches jeno lifting his foot on the side of the chair pushing it with the girl back enough to make her rock on the edge of the large open window he could easily decide to drop her roughly to the cold ground and kill her that way.
areum gasps when jeno held the jaw tight in his fist, he had immense strength and power in his body that he could easily crush the bones by a poke.
“you should really be quiet. remember that you kicked my dick and it hurts like hell. i have a strong urge to kill you right now actually, it will be so easy to get rid of you and no one will notice you aren’t there.” he trails as he admires the girl’s iris pupils tremble in fear. something in her eyes was so arousing to him, he loves that she were fun to mess around with.
“do it then.” areum urges forward. it was like fire playing with fire, both equally stubborn, one was afraid but fighting through it and the other was a cold blooded killer.
he laughs at her words, marking them in his head as if it were the funniest joke he heard, the hand lets go off areum’s face that was deeply in the girth with the fingers on it. the grip he had on her previously was harsh to the point, red fingertips and marks were scarring areum’s face.
she did not realise it sooner but her breathe stopped when he was close to her, his presence was domineering and intimidating.
cold chilling silence hit the room, areum leans back breathing heavily, body shivering occasionally and then lightly shifting eyesight around the room towards his body guards. full armed, armoured, looking ragged and focused on her only as if she were their prey, their dinner and enjoyment.
“let’s strike a deal alright?” jeno calls out to the front, dragging another wooden half broken chair in front of her to sit on. he leans forward with both hands clasped together under his chin, evil smirk carved on jeno’s face as his beautiful layered bangs rest above.
furrowing eyebrows out in confusion, areum spoke out of breathe because the coldness of the abandoned building starts to effect the thinly fabric clothing. “what?” she was able to make out, observing what he meant.
“you have two choices. option one, you stay under my care and rules and i let you live. i don’t want to have to murder an innocent life all because of my stupid bodyguards incompetence. furthermore because of your troublesome career, we can’t have you risk the chance of you to snitch about us.”
his words were so condescending. areum leans against the chair frame. “what about option two?”
the bodyguards laugh a little as if it were already obvious what the second choice was, jeno chuckles at the girl’s naiveness. he darkly answers, “i kill you.”
areum heart sunk as the choices were something she wouldn’t want anyways. “what about my brother..?”
jeno raises eyebrows in intriguing manner, somehow most people would make a decision already just so they could get to live. but areum was asking about her brother that is not even in living with her.
“you should really prioritise your life, not your brother. you could die if you don’t choose wisely.” jeno said.
she watches him before replying. “my brother is my priority.”
jeno yawns at the sappiness areum brought on the topic. he could careless about your pondering, just make the decision quick. “whatever, pick one already.”
areum stood silent for a while, the moment jeno stood up getting tired of this game he loudly orders. “just kill her she is taking too long.”
“I have a condition!” areum shouts overlapping jeno’s voice. he immediately looks down at you, confused. “what condition?”
areum leans her head forward, this time in rather a pleading tone. “i’ll take option one, but i want to see my brother please.. i beg you. Once is enough for me. he is only nineteen.”
jeno hums tilting his head. “will you do anything if i allow you to see your brother?” he saw areum nod immediately.
he seems to have found a weakness.

overestimating minho to the point he can think straight anymore 💗 as a dancer he has great stamina so it would take a while for u to break him but oh god would it be all worth it, starting out with making out and touching over his clothing and then proceeding to rimming and fingering him open until he's cumming for the third or fourth time, maybe his legs started to shake already but he's mostly fine just a but out of abreath but nothing that could stop him from teasing u about u failing to break him so u simply show him what he wants, blowing him as u finger him at the same time and u don't stop u til he's finished at least another two times and yeah he's sensitive he's shaking his sweating but he's still hanging on by a threat and since u decided to wreak havoc on him why not finish it by fucking him rough and hard just the way he likes it when ur two are in the mood?? so as u enter him he's already holding on to u and looks a bit like ur good boy minho and not the brat he is when he wants u to go rough on him, starting with small movements already get a reaction out of him but when u finally go hard and hits his prostate just right Damm he's seeing stars and they're all look like you, he's on all fours shaking crying feeling like his soul is levitating and ur directly leading him to heaven and when u lead his hand to his stomach to feel u fucking him it's the last drop needed for the damn to break, he's cumming and he's cumming hard, crying whining and holding to your hand until he's finally done and u both can breath normally again. aftercare is just the best after it, u kissing his shoulders and then his temple and lifting him up and taking him to the bathroom so u both can take a bath with one of those bath bombs he swears he doesn't like but makes sure to have a stock, then u help him with getting dressed and drying his hair so u can go to bed and cuddle until the morning comes, not before offering him something to eat and drink ofc. when the morning does come he complains so much about how u attacked him and almost broke his pelvic bone and about how he can't even sit properly let alone dance but also he doesn't let u be more than 1m away from him all day, laying across your lap and making u feed him too bc "u tired me out last night now u gotta make sure I recover well" but well thats just life with a kitten
the journey this ask has taken me on…“that’s just life w a kitten” please i love it so much hehe
it’s just like minho to taunt you and rile you up the point of completely and thoroughly breaking him, then to whine and complain abt it afterwards 😽 he prides himself on being able to keep his emotions in check but unfortunately for him, his body is much more honest. the way his thighs are trembling and his chest is heaving betrays him but even so, he doesn’t relent n still manages to flash that smug, lazy grin challenging you to do more
leading his hand to his stomach so he can touch the spot that bulges when you thrust into him…❤️‍🔥 the intimacy and the arousal he’d feel in that moment would absolutely send him into overdrive, he wouldn’t even have the chance to get flustered abt how deep inside him you are before he just falls apart beneath you. and the aftercare how sweet ㅠㅠ the way he gets after being wrecked within an inch of his life is a sight to behold, pliant and affectionate and clinging to you without any reservations. so demanding when you’re fucking him and even moreso after the fact…he’s a needy kitty through and through <3

Runaway Wind Chapter Forty Four
Tumblr media
<- Previous Chapter | Current Chapter | Next Chapter ->
“We met back then?” Mickey’s explanation caused Kairi to slowly bring a hand to her forehead. Memories stirred, as murky as they were.
Yet in the midst of her recollection, Mickey was still piecing together the past. “Well, now that I think about it, We met a few weeks before all that when she was in trouble. I saved her with some help from another keyblade wielder.”
“Another keyblade wielder?” Sora scratched the back of his head, wrapping his head around the idea of more wielders in the universe.
Riku however, was a bit more inquisitive as he crossed his arms and asked, “What was their name?”
Tumblr media
Looking from the keyblade in her hands to Mickey, Kairi’s eyes widened in recognition. “Oh! That’s right! You saved me with Aqua from those creatures!”
Mickey couldn’t help but stumble back, even as Ansem looked at the two of them with horror. “Creatures? What kind of creatures?” The idea that such a threat had been hiding under his nose and threatened his daughter struck at his heart.
For Mickey, it was almost worse. It was not so long ago that they’d met, yet with everything that happened in the keyblade graveyard meeting a pure light was almost a blur in comparison. Being zipped around the universe by the gummi shard hardly helped his recollection. But the time for rumination would come later. “Those monsters were something else I was able to take care of. But this makes things worse. Your daughter has a pure light Ansem, the darkness is already going to be drawn to her.” The girl winced at the explanation just as her father slowly clenched his fist. Mickey pointed to the weapon in the child’s hands and continued,  “A keyblade will magnify that light, and stronger heartless will be drawn to her. Not to mention, having a keyblade that young is dangerous.”
Mickey was all too aware of how powerful a weapon a keyblade was. And any weapon in a child’s hands was a disaster waiting to happen. Either from a stray swing, or an unintended spell wreaking havoc.
Slowly, Ansem made his way to a chair in the corner of the room. His daughter moved to his side as he held his head in his hands. “How could this have happened?”
Rubbing his chin, a thought came to Mickey, “Kairi, did you happen to touch Aqua’s keyblade?”
Wincing, Kairi nodded as she fretted, “Should I not have?”
Sighing as the picture came together, Mickey put his hands on his hips. “Aqua’s keyblade probably sensed her light  and bonded with her. And pure light itself is powerful enough that manifesting a keyblade isn’t out of the question for it once a bond like that’s made.”
Tumblr media
“Her name was Aqua, and I think you were able to make contact with her keyblade.” Mickey continued his recollection as the group had their attention squarely on him. ”After connecting with it, the light of your heart was able to manifest that weapon for you to protect yourself.”
Bringing her hands together, Kairi murmured, “I had a keyblade?” No doubt she was feeling a sense of betrayal settle in. If she knew more, she certainly would.
Kairi’s doppelganger tilted their head as they asked, “Do you remember it?” Kairi could only shake her head, ten years hardly helped her memories.
Crossing his arms, Sora asked, “Wait, if she had a keyblade years ago, why didn’t she have it when she came to Destiny Islands?” The boy was ignorant as usual, good with a keyblade but little else.
Mickey cringed, no doubt weighing the risk of telling them what he did. “That’s…”
Tumblr media
Ansem began to pace as he pleaded. “Is there anything we can do? I can’t take it from her.”
Mickey regarded the keyblade in Kairi’s hands as he muttered, “But keyblades are bound to their wielder’s hearts, so they just come back.” The bond a keyblade had with its wielder was useful in keeping them handy. But it ensured that anyone trained or sensitive to such power could always find it.
But…
“I can stop that,” Mickey replied as a certain ritual came to mind. It was a Keyblade ritual that only worked on the compliant or highly restrained. It couldn’t even keep the keyblade from her forever. But for now, it would be enough to give her a respite of normalcy. Assuming she wanted it. Mickey turned to the girl, who was looking from her worrying father to a concerned Mickey with her own share of fear. “Kairi, there’s a way that we can keep you safe, but we need to take your keyblade from you.”
Frowning as she held the keyblade in her hands, Kairi asked, “Will I get it back?”
Mickey nodded as he placed a hand to his chest. “Yes. I promise when you’re older, we’ll give it back and I’ll teach you.” It wasn’t a promise made to ensure compliance, but one made to show another the path the keyblade would lead them on.
Perhaps she could sense that sincerity. Perhaps she was simply satisfied with Mickey’s answer on its face. Either way, she looked at Mickey and asked, “What do we do?”
Calling his own keyblade to his side, Mickey reached out to Kairi’s weapon. “Place the keyblade in my hand.” Slowly, she moved the key to his grip, and slowly he took hold. As he did so, he pointed his keyblade to her and spoke…
“From your hand, I take this Key.”
There was a glow between the two keyblades.
”Through this act of sealing, I shut the path between heart and weapon.”
As the ritual continued, the light from Kairi’s keyblade dimmed away.
“However, so long as you have the makings, and fate brings it to your hands, its wielder you shall be again.“
With a twist of the arm, Mickey turned his key and there was the sound of a turned lock. Kairi’s hands fell away from the keyblade as she took a step back. Ansem watched for a few seconds as Mickey held onto Kairi’s keyblade. When it remained in place the two relaxed, and Mickey grabbed a nearby blanket to wrap up the keyblade. “Ansem, keep this locked away. If she touches it again, it’ll re-bond to her.”
Ansem no doubt had questions, but taking the keyblade he was a bit more at ease with his daughter’s safety. “We shall have to discuss the matter of training her later…”
But that day would never come.
Tumblr media
“That’s my fault.” The king’s conscience won out as he confessed, “ I used a ritual to separate it from you so the heartless wouldn’t find you.” He could hardly meet Kairi’s wide eyes as he tried to explain, “I wanted to give it to you when you were old enough to start training. But—”
“The world fell to darkness soon after, and you couldn’t find me.” Though the details of that fall were lost to everyone here, it would be enough for their understanding. However, Kairi furrowed her brow as she called her weapon to her hand, much to Mickey’s shock. “But I got the keyblade back. A man named DiZ gave it to me when I found my way to Castle Oblivion.”
Mickey rubbed his chin, hope kindling in his eyes. “He could know what happened to your real father!” A lead to the whereabouts of his old friend.
From his hiding place in darkness, DiZ sighed. Mickey would never find his old friend as he was.
“But we never passed him on the way out,” Sora pointed out as he shrugged. There was no reason now for DiZ to show his presence. Not when his initial plans for the group were so undone.
The one member that DiZ wanted to connect with in an attempt to form a front against those that betrayed him had lost his darkness. And so close to such light, it was likely to be at bay. Not to mention he was still cowed by his failings, offering a meager, “We’ll try and find him when we can.”
Crossing her arms as she dismissed her keyblade, Kairi sighed.  “Good, cause I’ve got a lot of questions for him.”
So many questions. Even now, she was still a curious girl, wanting to know more. But DiZ would have to be a mystery she would never solve. She shouldn’t have to face her father having dyed himself in the darkness of revenge.
And so he ventured on, back to where had set up a lab in Twilight Town. He needed more time to think of his next move against Xehanort and his treacherous apprentices.
Tumblr media
Xion tilted her head at Kairi and pondered, “What would you want to ask him?”
Sighing, Kairi found herself at a loss and sat down. “I don’t know where to start. What was home like? What was he like?” Even now, she couldn’t help but want to know about the world she once called home. A dark look came over her face as one particular question came to mind. “If he knew about whatever that imposter was doing.” Somehow, she knew they were behind Hollow Bastion’s fall.
Crossing his arms, Riku winced. “Actually, about the fake Ansem.” Kairi and Sora looked at him as he revealed, “He’s not gone.”
Kairi felt her stomach drop at the news, Sora was little better as he stumbled back with wide eyes, “He survived?! How?!”
Riku put a hand to his chest and grimaced. "He got out of my body and possessed some kind of clone of me.”
Sora began to regain his composure as he processed the explanation. “A clone? That must have been who I met climbing the castle.” Granted, on its own it sounded odd, but Kairi was right next to her own duplicate of Xion. If the people in black wanted to mess with Sora, cloning friends would definitely work.
Still, that left one big problem as Kairi sighed, “So we’ve got to worry about the fake Ansem and these guys in black?”
At Sora’s concern, Riku furrowed his brow as the comment struck a chord. “Actually, I remember something from when he possessed me. Before he fought you at Kingdom Hearts,  Ansem went to meet someone in a black robe.”
Kairi pursed her lips as she mulled the news over. “Like they’re working together, or the imposter’s in charge?”
Putting a hand to his head as he racked his brain, Riku tried to recall. “This is going to be weird, but it feels like both? The guy he met seemed so similar to Ansem.” With a small shrug, his eyes grew downcast. “I’m sorry I can’t remember more.”
Mickey put a hand to Riku’s back. “It’s a good start though.” While it was cold comfort an old enemy was far from dead, at least they knew who he would turn to.  At the sound of footsteps, everyone looked to see Donald and Goofy rejoining the group, Mickey asking, “What’d you find?”
Grumbling, Donald sat down near one of the tents they had set up. “Nothin around but a bunch of green.”
“And no gummiship for us to leave with,” Goofy added as he sat next to his friend.
“Don’t worry, I know someone who can help us out with that.” Calling on his keyblade, Mickey conjured a glowing portal, “I’ll go on ahead, with any luck I should be back tomorrow morning with some good news. For now, just keep an eye out in case Maleficent comes back.” He jumped in, the portal vanishing in a flash.
Rubbing his eyes from the flash of light, Sora asked Donald and Goofy, “Do you know who Mickey might be asking for help?”
Crossing his arms, Donald nodded, “It’s gotta be Master Yen Sid.”
Snapping his fingers, Goofy began to smile. “I reckon he might be able to help us get our ship back!”
A chuckle came to Riku as he turned back to the pieces of his tent. “Well that’s some good news, at least.”
Xion nodded as she joined him and helped straighten out the tarp. “It sounds like you needed some.”
Looking from Riku to Kairi, Sora slowly grinned and replied, “Well, right now, we’re all together. After months apart, that’s pretty good.”
Kairi returned his grin. “Yeah, pretty good.” With everything they’d found out today, she had to admit that having her friends close by was a sorely needed comfort.

My idea for a possible storyline for Tekken 8:
Ever since the trailer for TK8 dropped, I've been thinking a lot about where they're going to take the Mishima storyline moving forward. The trailer seems to be setting the stage for a father/son showdown between Jin and Kazuya similar to the one between Heihachi and Kaz in TK7:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We've been told that the clip from the trailer is part of the story mode, but they also made it clear that they didn't want to specify WHEN in the story this takes place. This made me think; what if this fight happens relatively early in the story? Like, in the beginning or middle of the story instead of at the end like in TK7. I personally like this idea as it would be a change from the previous story (also, this way Jin and Kaz can continue their fight in later games, meaning they won't have to kill one or both of them off in this game).
Now, there are many possibilities as to why Jin and Kaz has to put their fight on hold like maybe Heihachi or Jun returning, Claudio intervening or a new big bad appearing.
Personally I've come up with many different ideas as to what I would like to happen, but being a Devil Jin fan, most of my ideas involve him in one way or another. An idea I really like is something like this:
Jin and Kaz have their showdown as seen in the trailer. Jin now uses his devil gene to get more power while he fights, but the more he uses it the less control he has (we could maybe see this in Jin changing his fighting style as the fight progresses). At some point Kazuya then transforms into his true devil form:
Tumblr media
This pushes Jin to his limits and he transforms as well. At first he transforms into the devil form that we know from the previous games, but Kaz' true devil form is too strong. At some point Jin realises this and, in a last attempt to take down Kaz, he transforms into his own true devil form:
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: I'm maybe the only Tekken fan in the world who actually liked this Devil Jin design, I've always had it as my headcanon for Jin's true devil form. I'm not saying it has to look exactly like this, I just want it to look more inhuman and savage than his normal devil form.
In his ultimate devil form Jin is able to defeat Kaz (not kill him but bring him very close to death). But before he can finish the fight, Jin becomes fully consumed by the devil gene. I don't have it all down to detail but Kaz somehow gets away and now the world faces a new threat: Jin in his ultimate devil form wreacking havoc and causing disaster wherever he goes! In this form Devil Jin would be much more animalistic (like how he acts in Blood Vengeance but much harder to take down).
So in an ironic twist, Kazuya now has to stop Jin to save the him and the world. Maybe he even forms a reluctant alliance with Lee and Lars to stop Jin. That way Kaz gets to be the "hero" again and Jin gets to be "the villain" but this time it's involuntarily (since many fans, myself included, disliked the way they made Jin the villain in TK6, here he gets to be more of a tragic hero who sacrificed his humanity to save the world from evil, only to become an even greater evil himself).
Of course in my ending Jin would be saved and NOT killed and Kaz would probably go back to trying to kill Jin (this is where Lee and Lars could step in and try to stop him).
Idk I just think that this would be a different way to handle the story than having it be a copy of the last game, but still without straying too far from the father/son dispute that's been playing a big role in their games.
Feel free to tell me what you think of this and if you have any ideas that you'd like to see in the story!

Cactusverse Hoenn Timeline: Delta Emerald Part 2
If you missed the first part of the timeline click here.
Alright so now it’s time for Brendan to face Norman in a gym battle. Granted he only has 2 badges (but 3 contest ribbons) but he’s determined to face his father. He may have decided to take the path of Pokemon Coordinator, but there was still a part of him who wanted to see if he could beat his father. When he got to the gym, initially Norman was going to refuse until he saw Brendan’s fully evolved starter Sceptile, his Mightyena, Marill and Beautifly and the Ribbons case. Norman then agreed to battle his son It was a tough battle as Norman is certainly no pushover but Brendan manages to defeat his father! This brings Norman to happy tears as he congratulates his son on the win and hands him the Balance Badge. Norman expresses how happy he is to see how strong his son has gotten but more importantly that he found his passion as a coordinator. This shocks Brendan as he expected his father to be disappointed in him since Norman is so passionate about being a trainer. Norman though says he respects Pokemon Coordinators a lot and in the end it’s not his life to live but Brendan’s and he should go with what makes him happy and not what he think will please him. Besides Norman already had his dream come true that day of being able to face off against his son as equals in battle! Back in Littleroot Town…May tells Professor Birch about her lack of Pokedex completion. She expects her father to be disappointed but is surprised when he isn’t. Birch says while he’s enjoyed spending time with her doing fieldwork he prioritizes May’s happiness. And if her journey revealed to her a passion for battles then that’s what she should go for. And that if she ever wants to still do research on the side she’s more than welcome to. Aren’t we glad Birch and Norman are understanding fathers?
Now that May and Brendan don’t have to worry about it’s time for them to continue their journeys to eastern Hoenn. The two end up running into Steven who is being followed by the two legendary Pokemon Latios and Latias. Sensing that the Pokemon need help the three trainers go with the legendaries to Southern Island to stop Team Magma who have been causing havoc. As thanks Latios agrees to join up with Brendan and Latias joins up with May. At this point Steven sees the true potential of the two trainers and gives them both mega bracelets. May and Brendan go their separate ways after that to challenge the Fortree Gym and the Lilycove Contest Hall. Along the way May ends up rescuing the scientists at the weather institute from Team Aqua and Brendan sees the grunts of Team Magma seemingly plotting something at Mt. Pyre. The two trainers end up meeting in Lilycove and have another battle that ends in a tie this time. The kids decide to check out Mt. Pyre and find Team Magma and Team Aqua grunts once again battling each other. Thankfully because the grunts and admins were too busy throwing hands with each other May and Brendan were able to make it to the top where Archie and Maxie were stealing the Orbs. The kids immediately engage in a fight with the two leaders and get their butts handed to them hard. The Teams make their escape while the old couple at the top of the mountain heal up the kids Pokemon and tell them the lore of the Hoenn Region and how serious the threat was now that Archie and Maxie were well on their way to awakening the Kyogre and Groudon
It’s at this point that May and Brendan absolutely panic. They did not sign up for this at all. So they called their fathers hoping they had some answers. Unfortunately there was little comfort to be had as this was an unprecedented event. All Norman and Birch could do was assure the kids they would be contacting the authorities and Norman warning them to “not pull what that Red kid in Kanto did and try to face them on their own” The kids do their best to try to resume their journeys but struggle to put their all into it with the looming threat of both Team Aqua and Team Magma. May ends up trying to relax at the Mossdeep Space Center after defeating Tate and Liza only for it to be overrun by Team Magma and her having to join up with Steven to defeat them. May tells Steven what had happened on Mt. Pyre and he assures her that the league will help. Meanwhile Brendan heads back to Slateport to train with Lisia before the Grand Festival occurs only to see Team Aqua attacking Captain Stern to steal his submarine. After the submarine is stolen Brendan confides in Lisia about what is going on and is upset about feeling so powerless to stop things. Lisia tries to cheer him and promises to call her Uncle who “knows a lot about the legends of Hoenn” Still Brendan feels frustrated and calls May on her Pokenav to tell her that he’s going after Team Aqua. To his surprise May doesn’t protest about him being reckless and says she was thinking about doing the same against Team Magma. The two promise each other to make it back safely and to NOT tell their dads what they’re about to do.
The two trainers go off to face the two evil teams while the League tries to figure out a plan. Unfortunately the higher ups of the league refuse to intervene saying it’s not the League’s to police anyone. If any League member wants to help out they can but if they get hurt or break any laws to try to stop Team Magma/Aqua the League will not cover their hospital stay and will not provide legal representation. Some of the gym leaders and Elite four members decide not to intervene because the risk is too high and hope the International Police and G-men will come. (Spoiler Alert: they arrive far too late to be of any use) May heads to the Jagged Pass to find Team Magma’s hideout where Brendan heads to the Seafloor Cavern to face Team Aqua. Both kids feel a strange surge of adrenaline course through their bodies as they enter the hideout as they begin to defeat the grunts one by one. To the grunts who are getting their butts kicked they noticed that children’s eyes are glowing. Brendan’s eyes have taken on a shining ruby hue while May’s has taken on a brilliant sapphire glow. Unbeknownst to the kids, their aura powers flaring to life boosting the power of their Pokemon’s attacks and most importantly keeping them in complete sync with their Pokemon. May and Brendan manage to reach Maxie and Archie respectively and defeat them in battle. Unfortunately it’s all for naught as the two leaders awaken Groudon and Kyogre. The two ancient Legendaries immediately disappear with the Red and Blue orbs glowing and shaking violently. Maxie and Archie get word from their admins that the weather has gone out of control with intense heat waves in some areas of Hoenn and catastrophic flooding in others Across Hoenn the gym leaders and elite four members who decide to help begin trying to do evacuations and calm the citizens. Steven calls both May and Brendan and ask them to come to Sootopolis as soon as possible. When they arrive they notice the violent clash between Kyogre and Groudon seeming to get worse with the Red and Blue Orbs Maxie and Archie are holding beginning to glow even more violently until the orbs sink into the chests of the two team leaders
A horrible aura surrounds Archie and Maxie as Kygore and Groudon transform into their Primal Selve. Archie and Maxie begin to speak in an otherworldly tone with horrific language about annihilating everything to the absolute horror of their admins. Steven and the admins quickly work to restrain the two while ordering May and Brendan to go with Wallace to Sky Pillar. The two kids and Wallace hitch a ride on Wallace’s Wailord and make it to the Sky Pillar. Wallace reveals he’s from a line of ancient Sootopolitans who are some of the last native Hoennians who carry on aura guardian practices. Wallace tasks the two kids with climbing up the tower to awaken Rayquaza who is the only one who can quell the fighting. But before he lets them go up there, he wants them to prove that they are ready. So he has them face off in a 2 versus 1 battle. May and Brendan defeat Wallace thus earning his approval to go up the tower. Using his aura powers he opens the seal to Sky Tower and the kids make their way up to a sleeping Rayquaza The kids wake Rayquaza up and as they do so they plead with Rayquaza to save Hoenn. As Rayquaza hears not only their wishes but the cries of people all over the region as the fight between Kyogre and Groudon rages on, the ancient dragon gathers up enough strength to Mega Evolve. Rayquaza flies off to Sootopolis and soundly defeats the raging beasts (which also frees Archie and Maxie from their control) before de-mega-evolving and flying back to the tower. Everyone in Sootopolis is cheering this event…everyone except a still disguised Zinnia who is upset that Rayquaza did not maintain the transformation. With the crisis over, May and Brendan are ready to resume their 90 day challenge…until they realize due to the destruction caused by the event the Grand Festival has been pushed back until past the 90 day limit and the Sootopolis gym (May’s final badge) has been destroyed and needs time for repairs. Given all that has happened the two kids decide to declare the challenge over and that they should just enjoy their journey since they had been racing to finish and then getting sidetracked by the villainous teams.
Four months have passed since the battle between Kyogre versus Groudon. Most of Hoenn’s major infrastructure has been repaired but there’s still a lot of displaced people and Pokemon. Team Aqua and Team Magma have turned over a new leaf to help restore Hoenn as penance for their crimes. The Grand Festival and the Sootopolis gym are finally open and ready for business. After time relaxing, training and enjoying life, both Brendan and May are ready to hit the final legs of their journeys. At the Grand Festival, in a nail bitingly-close finale Brendan triumphs over Lisia to become the newest Top Coordinator of Hoenn!
Meanwhile May manages to beat Wallace and make it to Victory Road. Before finishing Victory Road she runs into Wally and they have one more battle at full strength that ends in Wally’s defeat. Wally is frustrated but he’s still determined to one day beat both her and Brendan. He mentions that while he was getting his badges a man named Scott had approached him and talked to him about testing out the Battle Frontier that had recently opened up. Wally runs off saying he would train there and then rematch May. May continues on to the Elite Four where after a series of tough fights, she manages to challenge Steven and claim the title of Hoenn Champion for herself. Now Littleroot has two new stars in Top Coordinator Brendan and Champion May. However peace doesn’t last long as a slew of Key Stone thefts make the news. Wally even calls his two friends once his is stolen. The thief soon reveals themselves as they attempt to steal May and Brendan’s Key stones only to fail. The thief introduces herself as Zinnia and leaves. After a game of cat-and-mouse around Hoenn, Zinnia eventually reveals her plans to May, Brendan and Steven at the Mossdeep Space Center about how to save Hoenn from an impending meteorite without sacrificing another world in the process. She tasks the two kids with going back to Sky Pillar if they find an even better plan. Steven, deciding he wants to learn more about Hoenn’s origins heads to Meteor Falls to learn more about Hoenn’s relationship with Mega Evolution from the Draconids. Meanwhile Archie and Maxie approach May and Brendan to give them Aqua and Magma Suits they had developed but did not use during their villainous schemes. The kids eventually go back to Sky Pillar to confront Zinnia where she ends up giving them another history lesson and then summons Rayquaza only to find that it can not mega evolve because it used up the last of reserves fighting Kyogre and Groudon
Distraught, Zinnia falls to her knees wondering if there is any hope left for Hoenn. However May and Brendan step in and once again plead to Rayquaza. With the combination of the meteorite retrieved from Mt. Chimney and their own aura powers Rayquaza is once again strong enough to potentially mega evolve. Zinnia, evoking her own aura powers teaches Rayquaza Dragon Ascent and then challenges May and Brendan to a two versus one fight to see if they were strong enough to further help the ancient Pokemon. It’s a tough fight but the two kids defeat Zinnia and donning the Aqua and Magma Suits fly into space on Rayquaza to not only destroy the meteor but defeat Deoxys, the unknown Pokemon that was hiding inside the meteor.
At last peace in Hoenn is restored. May and Brendan return to the Mossdeep Space Center to witness the Litleonid shower while Wally continues battling at the Battle Frontier, eventually being the first person to win all seven symbols.

#FFxivWrite2022 - Day 19 Prompt: "Turn a Blind Eye"
I'm not sure this is my strongest entry, but I have to imagine that Keimwyda and Ardbert had some chats that did not make it into cutscenes. This would be one of them.
--------------------------
“You don’t have to let them use you like this, you know,” Ardbert said.
Keimwyda jumped. While she was no longer frightened by his presence, she was far from being able to anticipate when he would suddenly make himself known.
“I’m sorry?” she asked.
“Which is not to say I’m not grateful,” he continued. “I have to admit I find myself hoping that you actually pull this off. It would be of some comfort to see that this world doesn’t entirely perish for our mistakes. But… you do know you don’t have to take up this cause, right?”
A sad smile crossed her lips. “I fear that is not fully an option I am free to take. My own world hangs in the balance as well—as I believe you know.”
The phantom’s face fell, a fresh wave of shame hitting him for his attempted part in the Ardor.
“But even without that…” she continued, “...I think I would go through with it all the same.”
“I don’t think it’s fair to you,” he objected.
“It is not.”
He was startled to hear her say it so frankly. “You see it too, then. I was beginning to wonder.”
“I am not a fool,” she answered quietly. “Well. At least not on this count.”
The two stood in silence for a moment; she, leaning on the dresser where she had paused to gather her breath after a bout of soul-shattering pain, and he standing intangibly by the door, not at all sure what to do with himself.
“You have told me some about the toll this is taking on you, and I can see it for myself in how you cried out a moment ago. It’s getting worse, isn’t it?”
Keimwyda nodded.
“I mislike this,” he said. “It isn’t fair. And you still intend to go and deliver Kholousia?”
“I do.”
Ardbert scowled. “You are quite sure you must deal with all of the wardens in order to stave off the Rejoining?”
She laughed despite herself. “I do not know that, no, but those more learned than me seem to believe it to be true. Besides,” she said, “you have seen the havoc and death those things sow in their wake. You have seen the way they gather strength and spread their influence. If we do not strike now when they are already on the run, we may never have a chance to do it again.”
“But Eulmore, of all places. Those cankers would happily fling you from the nearest balcony should they think you a threat to their comfortable retirement. Surely you cannot believe that they would endure even half as much pain for you.”
She lowered her eyes, blinking away the white at the edges of her vision. “As I said, I am no fool.”
He folded his arms and regarded her seriously. “One would not guess it to look at what you are choosing to do.”
“Good.”
Ardbert took to pacing about the room. He had been in her shoes, more or less. He knew how it had ended for him. He wanted it to end better for her. “So tell me then,” he ordered. A deep wound in his heart wanted to hear it for himself, but he suspected she might need to hear it again, too. “What could possibly justify what you’re doing? Why is it reasonable for you to be brought over from another world against your wishes, thrust into chaos that you are not responsible for, to then risk your very existence for people who live only for themselves? You said there were reasons beyond saving your own world. I want to hear them.”
She was silent for a long moment. “Reasonableness does not come into it,” she said at last. “But… I must do what I can. It is true that full many people in this world think of naught but themselves. As is also true in mine. But… I have seen what these creatures can do. I witnessed the transformation firsthand—and of a good woman, at that. The agony on her face—the monster she was made to become—the others who would now suffer at her unwilling existence—no one deserves that.
“If I can do anything to prevent it, I must. As a dear friend once put it: ‘For those we have lost. For those we can yet save’. How could I live with myself if I had a chance to put a stop to this, and simply chose to look the other way?
“So instead I will look the other way at the slights and the failures of the people I fight for. Gods know I have enough failures of my own. Let the wheels of justice turn for such people in their own time. That part is neither my purview nor my strength. I can but strive to extend the mercy that they would live another day, long enough to perhaps make things right. All I can do is choose to believe there may yet be hope for them all.”
Ardbert took her words in silently. They reverberated with him. They reminded him of things he had once held dear, but had begun to lose sight of by the end.
He had heard what he needed, and what he hoped she needed. “Of course you must. And you will. Go crush that accursed lightwarden like only a Warrior of Darkness can.”
She smiled weakly. “I shall try, my friend. I shall try.” Tears began to form in her eyes. “Would that I were not so frightened.”
“But you are resolved. This will not be your first tangle with fear, I imagine.”
“Oh, most certainly not.”
“Then you shall do it again.” He smiled for the first time this evening. “It is what heroes do.”

everything happens when it is supposed to...
As a young fox who lived alone in the forest, Kang always knew that he was destined for something more, as most animal familiars knew instinctually. But it was not until the day Kang met his witch that he knew exactly what that was.
It had been a day like any other when Kang left the safety of his burrow to look for food. Survival was paramount for a white fox that did not hibernate in winter and he took his usual route through the snow-covered forest when he smelled food. This was different to when he had to hunt, this was the smell of fresh meat.
Following the scent, Kang darted between the trees until he came across a dead rabbit lying in the snow. Nose twitching, Kang closed the distance between himself and his dinner, eyes darting over his surroundings to make sure it was safe before he approached. It was considered a lucky day if he could conserve his energy and not have to do the hunting himself. His mouth was watering as he got close enough to close his jaws around the dead rabbit just as a loud snap sounded in the stillness of the forest!
With a yelp, Kang dropped the rabbit as he suddenly found himself trapped within a metal cage. It had sprung up from beneath his feet the moment the dead rabbit was lifted from the spring! The white fox scrambled around the confined space in an attempt to get out, but he was well and truly trapped! And no matter how much he struggled and pushed against the cage walls, he was not strong enough to get out.
A few hours passed and Kang was exhausted from his repeated attempts to get out when he suddenly heard the crunching of footsteps. Growling, he backed himself into the furthest corner of the cage, ears pinned back against his head when the large figure of a man appeared before him. He smelled of death and blood as his gloved hand reached down to pick up the cage, causing Kang to bark and yelp in fear. Other foxes in the forest had been known to disappear before, but Kang never thought that it would be his fate as well. He had always been so careful.
As the man walked further and further towards his destination, Kang was eventually able to hear the terrified whines and whimpers of other animals in the forest and when his cage was tossed unceremoniously on top of a pile of others, he knew that he was done for. They all were.
Kang had backed himself against the back of his cage again when the man drew close again, the cage door opening and a large hand reached inside to roughly grab him around his neck. He said something about Kang’s fur being able to fetch him a pretty penny as Kang attempted to snap at him with his teeth and swipe at him with his claws, but all he got in return was a tightening of that hand around his throat. The sensation of the air being cut off had the fox whimpering and wheezing, his attempts to struggle and escape began to slow as his vision dimmed...
------------------------
When Kang blinked his eyes open again, all he could register was the utter chaos around him. All the animals that had been locked in the piles of cages had been set free and were running around the man’s camp to wreak gleeful havoc. The man himself was seen running away from his escaped bounty with his clothes on fire!
Kang was extremely puzzled as pushed himself up to stand when he suddenly noticed a presence behind him and he started, turning swiftly to face what could be another threat when his eyes fell on her.
Her long dark hair was flowing in the winter wind and she was breathing heavily from exertion, but the look in her eyes was one of triumph because she had won. She was the one who had driven the man away and freed them all.
Kang blinked up at the woman and knew immediately that she was different. She was not a human like all the others who usually came through the forest. There was a mystical energy about her that drew Kang’s own in to meld with hers. And the moment that happened, the woman looked down at him -- at this trembling fox that was cowering at her feet -- and her eyes softened.
She could feel it too. Kang knew it.
Hello, Kang. The woman’s voice sounded in his head as her hands reached down to him to pick him up. My name is Xiao Wei. It’s so nice to meet you. Would you like to be my familiar?
Kang did not even think to ask how she knew his name as he settled in her arms, but he knew right then and there that she was the one he had been unknowingly yearning for and now that they had met, he promised himself to protect her with his life.
