Back with another Ninjago little sister AU....
Now it's time for Kai and Nya's turn! Hope you guys enjoy it, especially since its a little longer
Enjoy anyways!! <3
Tumblr media
Hua Smith-Jiang
Hua means "flower!"
(For timeline's sake, Nya was 3 years old at the time of Ray and Maya's disappearance, and Kai was 5.)
Hua was only a couple months old when Ray and Maya left
She was a very well-behaved baby, however, something that Kai is still grateful for to this day
Kai had a lot of trouble raising both of his little sisters all alone, both Hua and Nya feel guilty
Before meeting Master Wu, Hua loved playfighting with the wonky swords that Kai would make
After recovering the golden weapons, Wu offered to become her teacher, since her old school was too far away from the monastery
So Hua basically spent the better part of her years in the Ninja's care
She would always hang about with Nya while she was creating her samurai X suit
When Sensei Wu's academy was opened, she became a pupil there
She would always behave in Nya's lessons but never in Kai's, and that would really piss him off
While her siblings and the other ninja were away because of their missions, that was when Hua began to feel really lonely
She would sometimes sit staring at the wall for a whole day because she literally had nothing better to do
Around the time of Possesion (She's like 12 years old at this point) she started to feel jealous of Lloyd because Kai would always treat him as a little brother
So she and Kai constantly got into arguments, Nya having to break them up all the time
She had a much better relationship with Nya
Once Jay and Nya officially became a couple, Hua never left her big sister's side for the next 2 weeks in case Jay stole her away
During the Hands of Time, Hua was kept in the dark about A LOT and it was getting to the point where no one would even tell her what was actually happening
The ultimately led to the worst argument her and Kai had ever had, Kai swearing at her and calling her a bunch of names
She sobbed her heart out afterwards
When her parents returned and Wu had disappeared into the time stream, Hua immediately went to live with Ray and Maya
She started to feel lonely all over again and she was sad because she thought her brother didn't love her anymore :(
Even Lloyd visited once apologising for making her seem invisible, and he felt guilty for the way Hua was feeling
(She forgave him and they became besties ehe)
But on New Year's Eve (a few days before SoG begins) Nya and Kai paid a suprise visit and Hua isntantly jumped into Kai's arms and balled her eyes out
Kai only rolled his eyes and was like "Did you seriously miss me that much?!"
But in all seriousness he did apologise for all the hurtful things he said and then they were a happy family again hehe
Hua was on a solo trip to Ninjago City around the time Garmadon returned, bear in mind she had absolutely no clue what was happening
She was on the street below the Bounty when Garmadon crushed it and she thought Kai had died
The first thing she did was find Nya
They both cried together because they thought their big bro was gone forever and also because Nya had lost her two best friends + her bf
But in the end Kai was ok so they were all happy again <33
I hc that around this time Skylor and Kai officially started dating, though it was on and off
But Hua LOVED Skylor so she didn't mind
Nya, Skylor and Hua went on girl's day outs like every other week
She would stay with her parents for two weeks, then stay the monastery for 7 days, before going home again
Bc she gotta see her big bro and big sis ofcc
Lloyd + Kai + Hua + Nya= the ultimate sibling squad
Hua had never felt more hopeless than when Nya turned into the sea
Her whole family sobbed for days and Kai was hit the hardest
Some days when Kai was just curled up on the corner of the couch silently, Hua would crawl up next to him and hug him, then he'd just start crying his eyes out
So you can imagine how happy these two were when Nya came back in Crystalized
By the end of Crystalized, Hua is 15!
Hua does also make an appearance in Dragons Rising, she's usually found at the crossroads and hung out with Arin and Sora a lot, telling them stories about the ninja
Obviously they don't know that Kai and Nya are her siblings so they never tell the ninja, and at this point they don't actually know her wherabouts.
That is all for Hua's story! Moving on to more facts about her:
Hua was really glad that she wasn't born with an element, because she hated the idea of going on all of the missions her siblings had to go on
Zane and Pixal were basically Hua's second parents after season 8
While she was staying with the ninja, Zane sometimes would give her the answers for homework, and Pixal would take her out at times where Nya couldn't
Even after they made up just before SoG, Kai and Hua were always butting heads
She loves wearing beaded bracelets and bangles on both her wrists
Hua once walked in on Kai and Skylor making out, the poor girl was so flustered she turned around and ran straight into the door 😭
Skylor laughed it off but Kai was so embarrassed
Jay always treaded lightly around Hua, since she wasn't really keen on Nya having a bf
She thought Nya would forget about her, even though her big sis tries to convince her that she'd never ever do that
Since Ray and Maya basically weren't a part of her life at all before Hands of Time, Hua sat them both down and brought together all her favourite things like bracelets, photos, etc, and she told them essentially everything there was to know about her
Somehow is probably the best Prime Empire player in all of Ninjago, both Jay and Kai are pissed about it
That is all! Zane is probably going to be next!! ^^
When she was younger (seasons 1-4) she'd dress up in the ninja's old gis for fun
Since her hair was quite long, she used to let the ninja style it for her for fun. Cole once created this beautiful twin-braided hairstyle and now Hua wears it like that all the time.

MEET GREER'S REPLACEMENT -  THE WANNABE.
{ FACECLAIM, AGE, GENDER, PRONOUNS } Is that FIRST NAME LAST NAME? A FRESHMAN (OR TRANSFER STUDENT) originally from HOMETOWN, they decided to come to Ogden College to study MAJOR on an ATHLETIC / ACADEMIC / FINANCIAL SCHOLARSHIP (remove if character is not a scholarship student). They’re THE WANNABE on campus, but even they could get blamed for Greer’s disappearance.
ABOUT THIS SKELETON: There was something about THE GOLDEN GIRL that made everyone envy her at least a little bit. Now imagine the pressure of not just trying to live up to the glow she cast on campus...but live in her former room too. Like THE WANNABE, a new student to Ogden College, has to this year. It's completely reasonable that they felt like they were entering a friendly competition with the former occupant of their room. But with the winner rigged and Greer still missing - could this competition really be that friendly?
MAJOR PLOT POINTS THUS FAR:
None !!! This is a brand new skeleton who just enrolled at Ogden !!! They just happened to be assigned to the room THE GOLDEN GIRL formerly lived in.
SUGGESTED FCS:
Paris Berelc, Josie Totah, Anya Taylor-Joy, Emma Myers, Isabella Ferreira, Valerie Thomas, Valentina Herszag, Kathryn Bernando, Maddison Jaizani, Maya Hawke, Gracie Dzienny, Barbie Ferreira, Anonia Gentry, Alisha Newton, Odessa A’Zion
CHECK OUT OUR WANTED CONNECTIONS !!!
SUGGESTED CONNECTIONS BELOW THE CUT
THE EXCHANGE STUDENT knows what it's like to move, so that should be some comfort to any of the new students they befriend. Unlucky for THE WANNABE, not even they can relate to moving into a room haunted by THE GOLDEN GIRL having lived there.
It's safe to say that with THE GOLDEN GIRL missing in action last year, THE NEPO BABY got used to not having to share their room. Enter THE WANNABE - but just because they got the room key doesn't mean they'll be welcomed.
THE MISCREANT left campus for a while too - but they came back to their room waiting for them. Surely THE WANNABE doesn't have to worry about THE GOLDEN GIRL doing the same though....right ??
THE HOMEGROWN HERO knows what it's like to be a fish out of water. And they know all too well what it's like to try to live up to THE GOLDEN GIRL. Maybe they can give THE WANNABE some tips - or not, if they're worried about the competition.
Sometimes it seems like everyone wants to be a clone of THE GOLDEN GIRL, much to THE UNFAVORITE’s chagrin - and they can’t help but roll their eyes every time they see THE WANNABE, considering their attempts to be the next Greer now that they live in her room.
How does someone like THE BIG MAN ON CAMPUS feel about someone who is trying to replace their ex-girlfriend ?? Well, if your girlfriend was THE GOLDEN GIRL, there was no choice but to get used to it. Especially with THE WANNABE now living in her former room.
THE WANNABE and THE BUSYBODY have one very important thing in common - they both would do almost anything to learn more about THE GOLDEN GIRL. Let’s just hope ‘almost anything’ is just a hyperbolic saying.
Considering THE GOLDEN GIRL has been missing for over a year, is THE FALLEN PRINCESS in the market for a new best friend ?? Perhaps she should consider the student who just moved into her old room - THE WANNABE definitely thinks they're the perfect fit to replace her.
In order to live up to THE GOLDEN GIRL, THE WANNABE will have to start trying to pry her secrets from people like THE ERUDITE STONER and THE SCHOLARSHIP STUDENT for information. Just to get closer to her mystique, of course Not to take those secrets to incorporate for themselves or anything.
THE WANNABE may find themselves left out of the social scene - thanks to their living in the shadow with THE GOLDEN GIRL  - will they get tips from THE COOL LOSER on how to deal with the treatment ?? Or will they continue trying to live up to the former occupant of their room ??

oh how things had changed for the pristine girl. if things would’ve gone the way that kiyana had wanted, she wouldn’t have moved so far away from the whom held her very heart in his hands. in fact, she had wished time & time again that her father had never gotten ill & needed to be closer to his side of the family. the day she had to say goodbye to her beloved, was the day that her life changed forever. she had left her small town, in which she grew to love & feel most at peace . . . leaving behind that one thing that truly made her happy. the look on his face as she walked away, stayed imprinted in her mind for years to come. but it wasn’t until a month after moving away that she realized that there would be more than just an image imprinted in her mind . . . but a child that had his eyes. she had come to find out that after leaving that she was with child, a child that she never thought possible. but what were she to do now ? she was a million miles across the country back home with her sick father. she had spent months not only preparing for something she wasn’t even remotely prepared for . . . but taking care of her father as well. things had gone swimmingly, he had gotten better & she now had a daughter named maya who was her absolute pride & joy. but things took a turn for the worst when her father had entered remission & passed a few months later. leaving his daughter & his two year old granddaughter behind. after she had buried her father in the place next to her mother, she packed her bags & left india for good, never looking back. she wanted to come back to the place where she had left her happiness & heart behind. but things would be different now, she had a child to think of & a man who deserved to know that he was a father. as she finally settled herself into her new home, she tucked the last piece of clothing into her daughter’s baby pink dresser. she then picked maya up in her arms & boop’d her nose with her index finger a smile plastered on her features. she then placed her daughter in her car seat, buckling her up safely as she had learned when her father taught her. she then made her way to the local grocery store, needing to pick up a few things for their home. but her expression dropped as soon as her dark hues landed on an all too familiar person. she could feel her heart in her throat, feeling as if she couldn’t breathe at this very moment. she quickly looked away, just hoping & praying that he hadn’t caught a glimpse of her.

SERIES MASTERPOST
masterlist
Tumblr media
“Girl, even if you don’t win, you’ll surely take the title of the hottest woman on the red carpet tonight.”
Florence’s words make you chuckle, but you try not to move your lips too much as the makeup artist finishes up the last touches on them, using a nude shade.
“Stop, my head is big enough already,” you tell her, giving her a look through the mirror. She is standing a few feet behind you, already wearing her beautiful, golden Versace gown that hugs her perfectly. Her hair is up in a neat bun so her back can be on full display and the diamonds in her ears can also shine brightly. She looks amazing while she is the opposite of what you’ll look like tonight.
Rhonda, the makeup artist has an amazing notion about your look when you showed her the gown you’d be wearing tonight and since the dress is not the sparkly kind, like Florence’s, she went a little heavier with the glitter on your eyes, using mostly whitish-silver colors, creating rosy cheeks and topping it with nude, glossy lips. Your hair is in loose curls with a bunch of extension, creating the illusion that you might as well be Rapunzel herself tonight. But you are the most excited about the gown that’s already waiting for you to be finally put on.
“What time is it?” you ask Florence as you don’t have your phone on you, but she has hers in her hands already.
“We still have half an hour before we have to leave. Dude, I can’t believe you are an Oscar nominee and might turn into a winner tonight!” she sighs, eyes shining bright with excitement. She hasn’t come off of this high for days, so over the Moon that you get to walk the red carpet tonight as a nominee.
“Don’t jinx it, Flo,” you warn her.
There’s a knock on the door of the hotel suit you’ve occupied for the glamming and Florence is quick to rush to it answering, but you both know who it is. As she throws the door open Harry comes to your sight, looking  as handsome as ever, wearing his custom made Gucci suit with a pink dress shirt underneath that matches your gown perfectly.
“Florence, you look wonderful!” his british accent fills the room, making you smile. Rhonda sets your makeup with some spray and you’re finally done. Standing up you move your legs around a bit as they went a little numb from all the sitting.
“Thank you! Pink suits you well, Harry,” your friend compliments your man and you watch them smiling.
When Harry’s eyes set on you, the light up, his smile widening from ear to ear. He looks spotless, freshly shaved, his hair recently cut and combed into place for a change. Not that you don’t like it when it’s all tousled and messy, especially when it’s because of your fingers.
“Angel, wow!” he breathes out as he walks up to you, taking your hands in his. You know he wants to kiss you, but doesn’t want to risk messing your lips up, so he is left with admiring you with only his eyes.
“Just wait until you see her in the dress!” Florence chimes in making you chuckle. You kept your dress a secret, wanting to surprise him with the first look. You gave out only the most necessary details for Lambert so the two of you could match.
“You’d be great like this too,” he teases, taking a look at your fluffy robe.
“I’m not going to the Oscars in a robe,” you tell him with a narrow-eyed look.
“I know, I’m just saying that you’d still be stunning,” he mumbles with a boyish smirk.
“Y/N? Time to choose a necklace!” Your stylist, Rupert appears from the room where your gown is hanging. He has a few jewelry boxes in his hands and he sets them all to the coffee table, opening up you are met with four breathtakingly beautiful diamond necklaces, each of them different yet so magical looking, you can’t decide which one you like the most.
“Harry, which one do you like the most?” you ask, kneeling down next to the table, mesmerized by the jewelries in front of you. Harry leans down and inspects them one by one before poking on the last one in the row. It has three rows of diamonds, not too big, the stones in the last row are shaped like water droplets, it’s such an elegant looking piece, it surely caught your eyes as well and you think it would be perfect with the dress.
Tumblr media
“This one,” he tells you and you nod, shutting the other boxes, satisfied with the choice.
“Alright, time to get you into the gown, girl,” Rupert winks, gesturing at you to follow him into the room.
“I’ll be right back,” you tell Harry, risking a quick peck on his lips before you disappear in your temporary dressing room.
You fell in love with the gown on the first fitting when Rupert pulled it out, still in the finishing phase. It still has pins in it, but it already took your breath away. It has a massive A-line skirt and a tight upper part that hugs your body perfectly, a row of buttons running down the middle of it. The sleeves are puffy, but then end in a tight run from a little above your wrists, the same set of buttons appearing like on your chest. It’s giving out some Victorian style vibes in a more sophisticated and simpler way, but it’s by far your favorite dress you’ve ever worn to any event.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It surely needs the extra pair of hands from Rupert to put it on, but once you are secured in it, you feel like a princess straight out of a fairytale and surely, your prince is standing on the other side of the double doors.
“Alright! Everyone get ready for the big reveal!” Rupert announces, sneaking out the room so he can open the door for you. He waits a few moments as you hear everyone shuffle around outside, probably lining up to see you walk out in your finished state. “Okay, three! Two! One! Welcome our Oscar nominee!” he cheers, a round of applause is heard before you even appear, but it’s quickly replaced with gasps when Rupert pulls the doors open and they get the first glimpse of you in your gown.
“Holy fuck!” Florence gasps, mouth hanging open as she keeps raking your form up and down. Your eyes find Harry’s gaze and you see him in a state you haven’t often found him in the past almost two years you’ve been dating. He is completely speechless, eyes glued to you in awe as if he just saw an angel in real life.
“Y/N, I—wow,” he breathes out, still at a loss of words.
“You like it?” you ask with a shy smile.
“I fucking love it, baby. You look… You really are an angel,” he tells you, making you chuckle at his words.
“Would you please help me put on the necklace?” you ask him and he nods eagerly, carefully taking the jewelry out of its box and walking behind you, he brings it around your neck, his fingers delicately working on the clasp. Once it’s all set, you step to the floor to ceiling mirror, taking in the final look.
“There won’t be a straight woman left on Earth once you step on the red carpet,” Florence bluntly comments, making everyone in the room laugh.
“Let’s take some photos, I need to immortalize this masterpiece,” Rupert gestures around, already grabbing his camera.
The next ten minutes you take hundreds of photos, alone, with Florence and then with Harry. He still seems a little stunned by your look, feeling shy when he circles his arm around your waist, but it’s cute that you can still have such an effect on him after being together for almost two years.
Florence snaps some with your phone as well, your favorite is when he held your waist and leant you back, making you arch backwards as your noses touched since he couldn’t kiss you. You already know it’ll end up as your lockscreen, replacing the selfie the two of you took on your latest trip to Hawaii.
When it’s time to leave you grab your little purse with your phone and other necessities and the three of you pile up in a minivan, since your dress needs all the space so it doesn’t get wrinkled before you step out to the red carpet.
As you sit in the car and watch the buildings pass by, your nerves start to rise in you. When the nominations came out a month ago it seemed so far, you couldn’t imagine yourself actually attending the Academy Awards, but now here you are, on your way to find out if you’ve been good enough to be the best.
Your role in Sinful Heaven has brought a lot to your life aside from the nomination. The three months of filming was one of the hardest times in your life you’ve ever worked through and at some points, you didn’t even think you’d get through it. Working so closely with Levi took a toll on you while you were trying to prove in such a heavy and serious role. It was a mess especially at the beginning when you and Harry were still in this weird phase, but that eventually turned right when he literally punched Levi in the face and ten minutes later asked you to be his girlfriend. It’s a badass way to start a relationship and you wouldn’t trade it for anything, especially because it put Levi into place or at least scared him enough to get off your back for the rest of the filming.
When Harry left following that visit, you couldn’t see each other until filming wrapped and you flew straight to him and travelled with him for the next two weeks, hopping from one city to the other, watching him perform every other night and spending all your time with him.
When the movie premiered eight months later, you didn’t appear with Harry by your side, Maya was your date for the evening, but by that time everyone knew you and Harry are an official couple. Neither of you felt like hiding it or caring about what others would think and you were able to focus on each other and rely on the strong foundation you’ve built for your relationship.
He was there with you when the nominations came out and probably screamed louder when your name appeared in the list. With tearing eyes and choked out sobs you jumped into his arms as he mumbled into your ear.
“I’m so proud of you, Angel. So, so proud!”
And now you are on your way to the show, only hours away from finding out if your dreams will come true tonight. Harry squeezes your hand and you turn to face him, his soft eyes meeting yours.
“Nervous?” he asks with a small smile.
“Very,” you admit with an airy chuckle.
“Whatever happens tonight, I’m very proud of you. Don’t forget that.”
“Thank you,” you whisper, giving his hand a squeeze back.
Since it’s the first time you and Harry appear on the red carpet as a couple, once you set your feet out of the car, everyone goes nuts. He helps you out and even fixes your dress so it falls just perfectly around your frame before he offers his arm. You link your through it, taking a deep breath as the two of you start walking down the carpet, posing for the photographers.
You feel powerful and strong, like it’s the peak of your career, but you also feel that it wouldn’t be the same without Harry by your side even though he is making sure to let you shine tonight. At one point he even steps back for a moment so photographers can snap you alone and you think it’s such a caring move from him.
You feel a little dizzy from all the flashlights by the time you walk into the theater, Harry holding your hand tightly as he leads you to your seats.
You’ve been to plenty award shows and it’s not even your first Academy Awards appearance either, but for obvious reasons, it’s the most important. Sitting in your plush chair, you can barely stop yourself from continuously fidgeting as one category follows the other and it’s still not yours.
Then following a jaw-dropping performance from Dua Lipa, Chris Evans walks out with a golden statue and an envelope in his hands and your heart skips a beat, but not because of the man himself, but because you know he is the presenter of the Best Actress category.
Your hold on Harry’s hand on your lap tightens and you glue your eyes to the big screens behind Chris as he smiles around.
“Good evening. It’s a pleasure to be here and to present the award for Best Actress. The theater tonight is filled with exceptional talents, but let’s see the nominees,” he speaks into the microphone and then he starts listing the names.
Emma Stone, Anne Hathaway, Margot Robbie and Rooney Mara are called and a camera fixates on each of them when Chris says their names, all smiling brightly and waving around before your name is called at the end. Taking a deep breath you plaster your most wonderful smile across your face, waving around like the other nominees did before the big screen splits, showing the five of you simultaneously.
“We’ve seen some spectacular performances from these ladies and now let’s see who proved herself to be the best this year.”
Chris flips the envelope open and pulls the little paper out that has the winner’s name written on it and for a moment you’re convinced you’ll pass out. You’ve never felt this anxious before and you’re gripping Harry’s hand so tightly you’re surprised he hasn’t pulled it back, but he is patiently putting up with your nerves, his eyes glued to the man on the stage as well.
“And the Academy Award for Best Actress goes to…” Chris starts with a charming smile, holding a short pause before he finally says the name. “Y/N Y/L/N for her role as Marie Davidson in Sinful Heaven!”
Your mouth hangs open, ears ringing as you process that your name was called. Everyone around you jumps up, including Harry, who is screaming just like when the nominations came out, while you are completely blank. It takes you a couple of moments to realize that you in fact just won your first Oscar and everyone is waiting for you to go and get your little statue.
“Baby! Baby you won!” Harry cheers as he helps you up from your seat and you throw yourself into his arms as reality sets in. “I fucking love you, Angel. Go and get your Oscar!” he laughs, pride all over his face as he urges you to walk up to the stage.
“Walk me up, please!” you stammer, not trusting yourself with walking in this fragile state. He offers his hand without a second thought, walking you to the stage where Chris is politely waiting for you to help you up on the stairs.
“Thank you,” you breathe out once you’re finally up on the stage, every set of eyes on you as Chris hands you the little statue.
“Congratulations,” he smiles as the two of you exchange two kisses on the cheeks before he steps aside and lets you give a speech.
You thought about writing a few words beforehand, but you figured if you end up being the winner you’d forget the whole thing, so there would be no use and that’s the case. Your mind is still blank as you look down at the award in your hands, the crowd still cheering on you, giving you a few extra moments to figure out what to say.
“I uhh—I don’t even know what to say, this feels like a dream,” you admit talking into the microphone, the clapping dying down so that everyone can hear your words. “I want to thank to everyone who worked on Sinful Heaven, because I wouldn’t be here without them. To my wonderful director and amazing costars, it’s been such a wonderful journey with you all. Thank you to my friends and family who were there with me from the very start, believing in me when I was losing faith in myself, thank you for never giving up on me. To my parents who I assume are now crying in front of the TV,” you add chuckling softly, imagining your mom and dad in tears as they listen to your words. “This is a wonderful sign to me that I am where I need to be and that I’m on the right path, so thank you for giving me even more motivation to keep me going on my way.”
Your eyes roam around all the guests until they fall on one proud man staring at you in his Gucci suit and pink dress shirt, his green eyes looking glossy as he listens to your words.
“And last but not least, thank you to one special person, because I’m convinced I wouldn’t be here tonight without him. I have one thing to tell you.” Forgetting about everyone in the theater you hold up the Oscar in your hand as you finish your speech: “Never have I ever loved someone like I love you.”
The crowd starts cheering again as you step away from the microphone and Chris is quick to jog up to you and help you down the stairs, Harry rushing back to take your hand once Chris lets go of it.
You catch him wipe a tear off his cheek as the two of you walk back to your seats hand in hand. Once you are settled, you take a deep breath and turn to Harry who is already looking at you, the same proud smile you saw from the stage still on his handsome face.
“I have never,” he tells you as his answer to the last line of your speech and you chuckle as your free hand finds the back of his neck, pulling him close. The lipstick on your lips long forgotten as you finally kiss him for the first time tonight.
“I have never either,” you whisper against his lips before kissing him again and again.
***
Smiling around you wait for the audience to quiet down as you make yourself comfortable in the familiar armchair. It’s such a nostalgic feeling to sit here again.
“Y/N, it’s so nice to have you here again,” Ellen greets you once the clapping has stopped.
“Thank you for inviting me.”
“Of course. A lot has happened since the last time you were here, you won an Oscar just a few weeks ago, congratulations!”
The cheering starts again as a picture of you appears on the screen behind you, wearing your iconic pink gown, holding your Oscar in your hands.
“Thank you,” you shyly smile, still not entirely in peace with the fact that you are now an Oscar winning actress.
“Such a major thing, congrats.”
“Thank you, it is a huge thing, yes.”
“Do you already have a spot for the award? Does it have a designated place?”
“Well, for now it is in my study along with some more mementos, but I’m planning to have a little stand made in the living room,” you share your plans.
“Surely, I would want to show it off if I had an Oscar,” Ellen chuckles. “You have such a busy time behind you, have you been up to something new lately?”
“We finished filming the third season of The Umbrella Academy, so now I’m having a little break before I jump into anything new.”
“Sounds nice, you deserve all the relaxing. Anything planned while you’re on a break? A new book to read, or maybe a concert to go to?” she asks and you already know where this is heading.
“You know you can just ask if I’m planning to attend a Harry Styles concert,” you bluntly tell her, making the audience and Ellen laugh.
“Well, I was just asking around about your plans, but I’m happy you plan to visit Harry’s concert! It’s also good to know that the situation has changed since the last time you were here, you definitely have been to one of his concerts since then.”
“I have been, yes,” you admit smirking.
“And I assume the two of you are now very close, am I right?” she asks and suddenly a paparazzi photo of the two of you appears where you’re walking down the street hand in hand just a couple of weeks ago.
“You could say that,” you nod, biting into your bottom lip.
“Amazing, because he is going to join us now. Everyone, please welcome Harry Styles!” Ellen announces and turning around you spot Harry walking out from backstage, the audience screaming for him. He shyly waves around walking up to the center, greeting Ellen with a kiss on the cheek before he turns to you, pecking your lips shortly as he sits down next to you.
“Harry, so good to see you again,” Ellen smiles at him.
“Good t’ see you as well,” he nods.
“So, the last time you two were sitting here, you—it was the first time you ever met, right?”
“Right,” you nod with Harry.
“And now you are…” she gestures at the two of you, not finishing the sentence, but everyone knows what she meant by that.
“And now we are… not strangers anymore,” Harry says chuckling, making everyone in the studio laugh.
“Certainly,” Ellen nods. “Alright, I thought that we could play another game, just to bring back some nice memories,” she explains, reaching behind her armchair, grabbing the familiar board from her, flipping it in your hands with a nostalgic smile.
“Can we keep it PG rated though?” Harry asks, examining his board before looking up at Ellen.
“No,” she simply answers, reaching for her cards as the audience starts laughing. “Okay, you know how to play it, no need for explanation. Here is the first one: Never have I ever used my fame to get in somewhere.”
Ellen is quick to show the I HAVE side of her board and you slowly do the same while Harry thinks to himself.
“Oh come on, you surely have,” you elbow him playfully as he smirks in your way, holding up the same side as you and Ellen.
“We all have, it’s not a shame,” Ellen shrugs. “Next one. Never have I ever forgotten the name of someone right after they introduced themselves.”
Ellen holds up the I HAVE side and you do the same again while this time Harry flips it over to I HAVE NEVER confidently.
“Really?” Ellen asks him, surprised at his answer.
“I’m good with names,” he simply shrugs.
“That’s a good trait. Alright, let’s move on. Never have I ever punched someone in the face.”
It’s a sneaky and very shady statement. Just a few days after the incident with Levi, word got out that he was punched, a few blurry pictures floating around the internet of his bruise, then fans figured out it had to happen around the time Harry visited set and people were quick to put the picture together and assume that Harry was the one who hit Levi, but it was never confirmed.
Glancing at your boyfriend you are fighting your smile back, holding up the I HAVE NEVER side as he is looking back at you slyly, continuously flipping his board before it finally lands on I HAVE, the audience immediately rumbling at the partial confirmation and seemingly Ellen is also amazed by Harry’s honesty.
“Alright, interesting. Love that for you, Harry,” he comments making everyone laugh as you reach over and give Harry’s hand a squeeze. “Last one,” Ellen announces, reading the last statement from her cards. “Never have I ever fallen in love with someone I played never have I ever with.”
Ellen quickly shows her I HAVE NEVER side as you suck your lips into your mouth, glancing at Harry again. You share a look before you both slowly raise your boards, both reading the same sign on them: I HAVE.

she's her daddy's girl, her momma's world - chapter 15
Tumblr media
goin’ to the chapel and we’re gonna get married
Katie’s getting married!
Read on AO3 or below!
It was a sunny morning in mid-April as Kelly and Stella walked through the terminals of the Denver International Airport, Maya walking between them, clutching tightly to both of their hands. The family had just gotten off their flight from Chicago and the three-year-old wanted nothing more than to run around, stretch her legs, and burn off the energy that had built up after the almost 3-hour flight.
As they approached baggage claim, Maya recognized who was waiting for them.
She gasped, excitedly, and pulled at her parents’ hands. “Mommy, daddy, look! Aunt Kaykee!”
Kelly and Stella chuckled at the exclamation. Katie was one of Maya’s favorite people and had been since she’d met her for the first time. When Maya first started learning the names of her aunts and uncles (both biological and honorary), she had trouble pronouncing T’s so Katie became Kaykee. A few years had passed since then, and Maya’s vocabulary skills were far more advanced, but Katie’s nickname stuck. Katie didn’t mind in the slightest—she wore her ‘Aunt Kaykee’ moniker proudly.
“That is Aunt Kaykee,” Stella said with a smile. “We’ll go see her in a minute, we have to grab our suitcases first.”
“No! Wanna see Aunt Kaykee now!” Maya begged, unleashing the full power of her baby blue puppy dog eyes on her parents. “Pwease, pwease, pwease!”
Stella sighed, but the smile was still on her face. Maya was so much like her father.
Stella looked at Kelly with a raised eyebrow. “Your kid,” she mumbled.
Kelly laughed. “You take her to see Katie, I’ll grab the bags.”
Stella nodded and they parted ways.
As Kelly stood by the baggage carousel and waited for their luggage to arrive, he saw Maya run right into Katie’s waiting arms. It was impossible to tell who was more excited and once more Kelly was thankful his relationship with Katie had grown to be as strong as it was despite the distance between Boulder and Chicago.
Grabbing the last of their bags, Kelly made his way over to where three of his most favorite people waited. When he arrived, Maya was recounting every detail of their flight for Katie, who listened with rapt interest. Kelly dropped their bags and put an arm around Katie’s shoulder, bringing her in for a side hug. “Not that I’m not happy to see you, but you didn’t have to drive down here to pick us up. I’m sure you still have a ton of things to do before this weekend.”
“Please,” Katie said with a smile. “I needed the break. And I will gladly take all the extra time with this little nugget I can get.” Katie tickled Maya’s side, causing the toddler to giggle hysterically.
“Well, we’re here now, ready to help you with whatever needs to be done.” Stella confirmed from her spot next to Kelly.
Katie smiled. “I’m definitely gonna be taking you up on that offer. Mom and Lucas have been so helpful, and everything is pretty much ready to go, but now that you guys are here, we can do the final fitting and pick up for your dresses and tux. Hopefully everything fits like it’s supposed to, and it'll be smooth sailing until the rehearsal dinner on Friday.”
“I can’t believe you’re getting married,” Kelly said, a hint of disbelief in his voice.
“Babe, you’ve been saying that since she and Lucas announced their engagement last summer.” Stella stated, playfully rolling her eyes. She and Katie shared a smile.
“Yeah, yeah,” Kelly said with a smile, waving his hand dismissively. “Let’s get this show on the road.”
Katie smiled at her brother and nodded, leading them out of the airport to where she had parked.
                                                   … … …
Once the Severides arrived in Denver, it was full speed ahead to get Katie and Lucas to the alter. Thankfully Kelly’s tux fit perfectly, as did Stella’s matron of honor dress and Maya’s flower girl dress. All the I’s were dotted and T’s were crossed and the only thing left to do was enjoy the rehearsal dinner and the wedding itself.
The night before the wedding, the entire wedding party was at the venue for the rehearsal dinner. They’d had dinner already and run through the entire ceremony program a few times and now, the remaining members of the wedding party were scattered throughout the venue socializing. Kelly found Katie out on the balcony overlooking the courtyard where the ceremony would be held tomorrow. He walked over to join her.
“You OK?” He asked, saddling up next to his sister.
“Yeah! Just…. taking it all in before tomorrow.” Katie said, flashing him a smile.
“It’s going to be a really good day,” Kelly replied easily. He smiled, thinking of his own wedding day a few years prior. It was still one of the best days of his life. “The best day of your life. Just focus on you and Lucas and how much you love each other.”
Katie’s smile grew. She’d heard stories about her brother’s dating history before he met Stella and, while she had never met any of the other women in her brother’s life, she’d experienced firsthand the change in him since getting together with Stella. Ladies’ man Kelly Severide was now married, a father to the cutest, sweetest little girl, happier than Katie had ever known him to be, and Stella had been the catalyst for it all.
She was excited for the future she and Lucas had ahead of them; one she was hopeful would be just as happy and fulfilling as her brother’s.
“Is it weird that I wish dad was here?” Katie asked quietly, interrupting the silence that fell over them. The smile on her face fell slightly, turning more thoughtful rather than joyful. “I mean, he was hardly a part of my life…”
Kelly put his arm around Katie’s shoulder. “It’s not weird. He was your dad, no matter how absent of a parent he was, and this is a big moment in your life. Even I wanted him at my wedding.” Kelly sighed softly but continued speaking. “He might not have been father of the year, but he did love us, and he wanted us to be happy. Benny might not be here in person, but he’ll be here in spirit tomorrow.”
“Thanks Kelly,” Katie smiled. She wrapped her arms around her brother, giving him a big hug.
Their hug was interrupted when a tiny but fierce force slammed into their legs. Looking down, the two saw Maya smiling up at them. Katie and Kelly laughed, breaking away from their hug, and Katie bent over to pick up her niece.
Kelly looked in the direction Maya had come from and saw Stella making her way over to them, a soft look on her face. As she reached them, Kelly threw an arm over her shoulders.
“You two ok?” Stella asked, her eyes darting between her husband and his sister.
“We’re good,” Kelly said. “Just a little brother and sister talk before the big day tomorrow.”
Stella smiled. “Speaking of tomorrow, everything’s cleaned up downstairs and your mom and Lucas are finalizing things with the caterers and coordinators. The rest of the wedding party is just waiting on final meeting times for the morning.”
Katie nodded and the group made their way back inside to where the others were waiting. It was time for them to head out for the night; tomorrow would be a big day and they all needed to be well rested.
                                                 … … …
Katie and Lucas’s wedding day was magical from start to finish.
Stella and Maya were with Katie, her mom, and the other bridesmaids all morning as they prepped and pampered for the day ahead. They met bright and early at a salon for mani/pedis before heading to the venue for brunch and to start getting ready.
Maya provided non-stop entertainment for the others as they got their hair and makeup done, the toddler easily winning them all over.
As time went by and the ceremony grew closer, everyone started changing into their dresses. It was during that time that Katie and Stella got to share a special moment as they found Maya, dressed in her flower girl dress, standing in front of Katie’s wedding gown. She was staring at it with such wonder and focus that the little girl didn’t even notice the photographer or her mom taking pictures of her.
Katie smiled. “Kelly’s gonna freak when he sees that picture.”
“Oh I know!” Stella laughed. “Don’t tell him I told you this, but he totally cried when he saw the pictures of Maya in her flower girl dress for the first time.”
Katie laughed along with Stella, but she wasn’t surprised in the slightest; Kelly was a total softy when it came to Maya.
Once Katie had her dress on, it was full speed ahead to the alter.
From his spot on the front row, Kelly smiled and stared lovingly as he watched Stella walk down the aisle. She looked beautiful, as she always did, and once again Kelly was reminded how absolutely lucky he was to have her by his side in life. He had prepared himself as best he could for the emotional gut-punch that would come with watching Maya walk down the aisle, but it wasn’t enough. The sight of his little girl walking down the aisle, expertly dropping flower petals along the path, brought more than a few tears to his eyes and he hugged her a little tighter than usual when she came to a stop at his side.
He'd tried to collect himself, but his efforts were futile when the officiant asked the guests to stand and his eyes landed on his sister. Katie looked beautiful and she walked down the aisle with a confidence that came from the understanding of knowing that the person you were about to marry was the love of your life.
Kelly might not have known Katie her entire life, but he was so proud of the woman she’d become and the life she was making for herself.
                                                 … … …
The ceremony was short and sweet, but beautiful, and it flowed easily into the reception.
The guests were distracted with cocktail hour while the families and wedding party took pictures. Dinner was a joyous affair, filled with toasts to the happy couple and speeches from their closest friends and family members, and then Katie and Lucas took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife.
As the music changed, Lucas grabbed his mom for the mother-son dance while Katie, unsurprisingly, turned the father-daughter dance into a mother-daughter dance. What did surprise Kelly was Katie walking over to him and pulling him onto the dance floor for a special brother-sister dance. He might not of known about Katie’s plan, but the knowing smile on Stella’s face told him that she’d known about it all along.
The dance floor opened to everyone after that and Maya immediately ran to Katie and Lucas, wanting a special dance of her own with her aunt and uncle.
Their daughter had never been shy, but Kelly and Stella were genuinely surprised when Maya became the life of the party. Using the energy only a toddler could possess (and the sugar rush provided by the cake she’d eaten), Maya bounced between her parents, her aunt and uncle, and various members of the bridal party as they celebrated.
                                                  … … …
The night was coming to an end and most of the guests were getting ready to line up outside the venue to say goodbye to the newlyweds. Some remained inside, talking with friends or finishing their final drinks of the night. The Severides however, stood just at the edge of the dance floor.
Stella, who had Kelly’s tuxedo jacket draped over her shoulders, was pressed against Kelly’s side and the two of them (with Maya sleeping off a sugar crash in Kelly’s arms) watched Katie and Lucas share one final dance.
The newlyweds were in a world of their own, swaying back and forth and talking quietly as if no one else existed; their love for each other evident in the way they looked at each other. It was a look Kelly knew well; it was the way he looked at Stella.
Kelly had had many flings and relationships in his life, but he’d never loved someone as much as he did Stella. Then Maya came along, and his heart somehow grew impossibly larger and there was enough love for not only Stella, but the new life they’d created together as well.
As he watched his sister and her new husband, Kelly knew that with Lucas, Katie would get to experience the kind of love he was lucky enough to.

Pen Pal // h.s.
Warning: light language, there is a mention of self harm, and some verbal abuse.
Highschool AU This is really long for me 9.4k words and it’s not really done I am thinking a part 2 and maybe even a 3. Let me know what you think!
Tumblr media
When she was five she was given a project from her teacher saying that she had to write to a pen pal. She had no idea what a pen pal was and how she got one, but she had told the class that a pen pal was someone who lived far away and we wrote a letter to them. Their letters were going to England to another class and they had to write them and they had to write back. This sounded fun. Teacher had a hat in her hands and when she passed it around we had to pick out a piece of paper that contained a name and an address. She took her's out and saw the name, it was a boy, she didn't like boys, well that wasn't true, the only boy's she liked were her brother, her best friend and her daddy. The teacher told the class they had to write to their pen pals for the whole school year.
#####
When she was ten, she still wrote to her pen pal, she didn't understand why she had been writing him for the last five years, but she had been. He was funny and easy to talk too, she thought that perhaps this boy was going to be her first crush, something she thought one of her brother's friends would be, but she was pretty sure this boy was. He helped her through a lot, like when Mommy and Daddy argued and doors slammed or when Mommy packed up her suitcases and left or when Daddy didn't come down from his room and her brother had to take care of her or when Daddy changed. He helped her a lot, and she helped him too, they sometimes even helped each other with their homework. She had found a true friend in him, and she hoped he felt the same about her.
#####
When she was twelve her Daddy let her have an E-Mail and she told the boy, he too had an E-mail and they talked on MSN all the time, but they still wrote letters to each other, personally hand written pieces of paper seemed much nicer than typed words on a screen. Her brother was about to be in high school now and she would be starting middle school next year. The boy had started middle school this year and it was the first time, she realized, that she knew how old he was. They would talk about homework; friends and she asked him questions about boys. The boy didn't answer a lot of them but she didn't mind, the only boy she cared about noticing her was him, but then something dawned on her. They may never meet.
When she was fifteen she started High School and the boy was a year ahead of her. Her mother had returned to the city, remarried, and she wanted to see her children, but she refused to go, as far as she was concerned her mother had abandoned her and her brother and her Father had taken care of them, but he had changed even more. Her brother would soon be off to college and she would still be here, her father wasn't so bad, only when he disapproved of something did he get angry, he never struck her, her brother would never allow it, he was protective over his baby sister especially now that boy's had started to notice her. She still wrote to the boy and told him all about her problems, it had been ten years and she could still confide in him and he confided in her and she liked it that way. It meant that somewhere she had someone who cared, someone who listened. Someone who knew her better than anyone.
###
She was sixteen when her world began to change, she still wrote to the boy and now she had a boyfriend, one of her brother's friends, she was a cheerleader and he was a soccer player and was on the swim team. Then she got a letter, it said that he had received a scholarship to her school and he was coming to New York, she was ecstatic and began to write him back when the pen suddenly fell from her hands as she realized something she had been denying. She had feelings for the boy with the elegant handwriting and who always wrote in blue pen. He couldn't come here, not when she had a boyfriend, but who was she kidding, they didn't know what each other looked like, so maybe she could hide who she was from him, the only thing he knew about he was her name and there was more than one Y/N in her school, but he never called her by her real name, when he was ten he gave her a nickname and nobody knew it except for him. She realized how ridiculous she was being, this boy had no romantic interest in her and if he did, what did it matter? She has a boyfriend now.
What she didn't know was when he came to New York her whole life would change and he would be a part of that change.
She had feelings for the boy with the elegant script and blue pen, and they were not going to go away.
"Ugh, how can you eat so much?"
Y/N Y/L/N looked at a friend with thinly veiled disgust, she had no idea where Maya put it all and considering she was eating cafeteria food, it made it just that much worse. Especially because today's menu was all seafood.
"Excuse me for being one of the few girls in the world that acknowledges a love for food." She said and then took a bite out of a fish stick and grinned.
"Hey, I like food just not too much." Y/N said, eyeing what could only be Maya's twentieth piece of fried fish.
"That's because you, my friend, are a cheerleader and must stay in impeccable shape." Maya winked and then went back to eating.
Y/N sighed, it was true, part of the reason as to why she didn't eat a lot was cheerleading, she needed to stay small so she could tumble and be thrown in the air. Maya seemed to resent her for the fact that she was a cheerleader, but Y/N could not help it if Maya did not have great hand eye coordination. She knew Maya didn't really like her, but she put up with having her around because Will and Joel liked her. She didn't know why Maya hated her, she thought it was partly because she was part of the in crowd and Maya thought that they were all snobs.
Y/N was no snob.
Someone patted her head and she turned to look and was looking into the kind eyes of her best friend.
Will Davis.
His brown hair was in his eyes, covering the chocolate orbs. He sat down, his skinny frame folding easily on the chair. He had to push his glasses from the end of his nose back up to where they were supposed to be. Y/N couldn't help but grin at him, he was so normal, that was why she opted to sit with him at lunch and not the—as Maya bluntly puts it—the popular hoes.
Y/N looked over at her other friends, they were crowded around their table near the window, laughing and joking, she saw her best friend Isabella and her brother Jack, they looked annoyingly happy. She was well aware that Jack liked Isabella but his feelings were not reciprocated, but Jack was a star at school, everyone wanted to be with him, especially Kayla.
Y/N hated Kayla.
"Well, I'm done; I'm going to go prepare for class." She smiled at the group and dumped the contents of her tray into the garbage and left her tray on top, leaving the cafeteria, she straightened out her uniform and remembered something.
She had had practice this morning and all of her bag was still in her locker, crammed into the small space. She had gotten a lift with her brother today so she had to put all of her stuff in his car. Huffing, she spun back around and walked over to her brother's table, feeling the eyes of her other friends on her, as if she was betraying them.
She knew that they thought sooner or later she would stop sitting with them and sit with the 'popular' crowd, but she sat with them because they were superficial, they were fun to be around and she liked them, even Maya on her good days.
"Jacky," she said, arriving at the table and stopping in front of her brother. He seemed to be in an overly animated conversation with Liam, her more or less boyfriend.
"Yes?" He looked up at her, sounding bored.
"I need your keys so I can put my stuff in your car." She held her hand out expectantly but Jack made no move to hand over the keys. She was aware that the group was staring and acutely aware that Kayla was practically drooling over her brother, she didn't see the big deal. She could admit that he was nice looking but hot? No way, then again he was her brother it would be weird if she thought he was a god like the rest of the school.
Jack was nearly eighteen and this was his senior year, along with Liam, Kayla and a few others. He received a lot of female attention and people were always asking if they were really related, Y/N could see why, they looked nothing alike.
Jack had silvery blonde hair and dark eyes, he was tall and had a soccer player's build, where Y/N had Y/C/H and Y/C/E, and had a frame that was slightly toned from nearly four years of cheerleading.
Y/N never understood why she was a cheerleader, she wasn't a girly girl and she didn't dress up a lot, she was more into art, but then cheerleading provided her with confidence and made her feel alive like nothing had before, she loved the feeling of being tossed into the air and soaring like a bird. It was freeing.
"How do I know that you aren't going to joy ride and leave me stranded here?" Y/N scoffed at this.
"Honestly, even if I was going to do that, you would never be stranded, I'm sure there are a million people who would give you a ride." She batted her lashes innocently at him.
He could never deny giving his sister anything, he loved her, he had taken care of her when Father had been unfit, he watched over her, he protected her.
"Fine, here, but give them straight back." He said firmly and she rolled her eyes.
"Yeah yeah." She said turning back and going to her locker. Maybe she should joyride, just to teach him a lesson, then again, that would be one time that Jack didn't protect her.
Y/N walked to her locker, putting in the combination and opening it; grabbing her bag she hauled it over her shoulder and was about to head out to the student parking lot when a hand gently grabbed her waist pulling her back. She raised her eyes to see Liam, smiling down at her.
Liam was her boyfriend, she supposed, they had been together for over a month now and Y/N was very happy. He was very good looking with brown hair that had a messy on purpose look, brown eyes, like melting chocolate, a tall stature and the build of a soccer player mixed in with the grace of a swimmer.
"Hey," he said as he moved, causing her to walk back and feel the cool metal of the locker's behind her.
"Hey," she said smiling. Liam's hand snaked out to play with a strand of her hair. He always played with her hair, Y/N didn't understand the fascination, it was a big frizz ball as far as she was concerned.
"Any plans tonight?" He asked while still fiddling with her hair.
"Sure, with the most wonderful man." Liam looked confused and let her hair fall back. "You should meet him, ever heard of Edgar Allen Poe?" She smirked as he shook his head.
"You are a devil woman." He moved so that Y/N could do what she had originally planned and put her bag in her brother's car.
"Walk with me?" She asked and he nodded, taking her bag and holding her hand.
She knew a lot of girls didn't understand why Liam was dating her; she didn't understand it herself, he was popular, the whole female population of Anchor Academy wanted him and threw dagger looks at her in the halls, but she revelled in it, for once she was envied, for once people wanted to be her.
Y/N deposited her bag in the boot of her brother's truck and turned to the back seat where she knew she had left her pencil box, she slid them into her brown leather backpack and locked the car—after closing the door—and spun to Liam. He had his hands on her hips and was staring down at her with a burning intensity.
"Do you want to do something tonight?" He asked in a shaky voice. They had never been this close before, they hadn't even done more than pecks, she didn't know what was stopping her but she knew she was grateful that he was patient, she wondered how long that would last.
"I can't, I'm sorry, but I have to finish this assignment." The bell rang then and Y/N now understood the meaning of the phrase saved by the bell. "I need to go, but I'll see you tomorrow?" She got on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek, waving as she headed to class.
Y/N wasn't exactly lying to Liam, she did need to finish this assignment, but it wasn't due for another two weeks. Y/N knew why she didn't go out a lot on school days, but that was her secret.
#####
Y/N sat at her computer desk, researching for this English paper when her chat window came up.
Hello Y/N
Y/N smiled and typed back. They had been friends for eleven years now, he knew her inside and out as she knew him, except for the fact that they had no idea what the other looked like, she thought and he agreed that it would be better to keep their faces hidden, like real pen pals.
Y/N remembered the day she had been told she had to write to him and the day he walked into her life, never walking out.
Y/N sat at her seat next to her new friend Will. He was funny looking; he had really big glasses and funny hair. They were friends because Y/N saw him reading and she wanted to read too.
"Okay guy, we are doing a fun new assignment called Pen Pals! This means, each of you will select a name from this hat," She held the hat out for show. "And you will write that person a letter and then they will write you one and you will keep replying until the end of the year. Does that sound like fun?" The teacher was overexcited, Y/N didn't see the big deal, she was writing to a stranger. Her mom always told her never to talk to strangers.
The hat was passed around and Y/N dipped her hand in and pulled out a piece of paper, handing the hat to Will. She opened the paper and saw the name of her 'Pen Pal'.
Harry Styles
Under his name was what she thought was an address. She pulled out a piece of paper and a pencil and began to write her first letter.
Dear Harry...
You're distracting me from homework, Y/N replied to Harry. When she had started that assignment she had no idea she was going to make a lifelong friend, a best friend and she had, in Harry, he had been her first crush, even if she hadn't officially met him, Y/N had wanted him to be her first kiss too, but that was impossible in case she was able to get a plane to England and the little savings she had in her piggy bank, Father gave her money but she always used that on the weekends, going to movies or restaurants or clubs.
Really, what are you doing?
She was about to respond when he wrote something else and she giggled.
More importantly, what are you wearing? ;)
Y/N shook her head; Harry was always a cocky smartass.
Edgar Allan Poe
You're wearing Edgar Allan Poe? Lucky guy
Oh haha! I am studying Edgar Allan Poe and wearing nothing
Harry didn't reply, which was uncommon for him, not much rendered him speechless, in the time they had spoken, be it through letter or internet, she had learnt a lot about Harry and his life, what he was like and what he was hiding, she felt as if she was one of the only people who knew the real Harry and somehow that made her feel lucky.
What poem?
He ignored the naked comment. Smooth.
Instead of typing the title, which he would then Google, Y/N wrote the poem to him, perhaps he could shed some light on it for she was having no luck.
Romance, who loves to nod and sing,
With drowsy head and folded wing,
Among the green leaves as they shake
Far down within some shadowy lake,
To me a painted paroquet
Hath been- a most familiar bird-
Taught me my alphabet to say-
To lisp my very earliest word
While in the wild wood I did lie,
A child- with a most knowing eye.
Of late, eternal Condor years
So shake the very Heaven on high
With tumult as they thunder by,
I have no time for idle cares
Through gazing on the unquiet sky.
And when an hour with calmer wings
Its down upon my spirit flings-
That little time with lyre and rhyme
To while away- forbidden things!
My heart would feel to be a crime
Unless it trembled with the strings.
Y/N awaited his response as she read over the lines of the poem herself. The poem was called Romance and Y/N really hoped Harry didn't read something onto the title.
Well Y/N, it seems you have a pickle in your hands here.
Ever the asshole, Harry didn't help her at all. She sighed, deciding he was too distracting for her to actually get work done.
I'm signing off, you really are no help. Talk to you soon.
Y/N logged off before he could respond. For another hour she pondered what the poem could mean and then gave up and decided to concentrate on her art assignment. She was supposed to draw something that meant a lot to her but she couldn't think of anything except for Harry and she couldn't very well draw him, she had no idea what he looked like.
Then an idea no, more like an image, came to fruition within her thoughts and she began sketching, not knowing where this idea had come from, but she was going with it, it was all the help she was going to get.
Y/N awoke the next morning and sauntered into the kitchen, pouring herself some cereal she went to get milk when she saw the envelope sitting there, with her name written on the front in elegant script and written in blue biro. She knew who it was from immediately and sitting at the table, her breakfast forgotten, she opened the letter and started reading.
She was glad she didn't eat, because she probably would have just thrown it all up with the nausea she felt.
Harry was coming to New York, not only that he was coming to her school.
That was bad, he would see her, who she really was, who her friends were, what her friends were like, her brother and he would see what she looked like. Y/N suddenly felt extremely self conscious and opted not to wear her original outfit and instead wear baggy jeans, a tank top, a giant hoodie and ugly sneakers.
She didn't want Harry to see her because she knew, she knew that he would be beautiful and she was not, he would laugh at her and never speak to her again.
Y/N didn't think she could handle losing her friend, her best friend, her soul mate.
Y/N had never changed outfits so many times in her life.
She had gone from baggy, to slutty, to loose fitting, to tight, to exposing, to completely covered, and finally she decided to go for a mix and ended up in something she would normally wear. Looking at herself in the mirror she realised that being friends with Isabella had influenced her style way too much.
And even scarier, she had never put in this much effort to look nice for Liam.
Y/N was wearing a loose grey shirt with a leather belt that emphasised her small waist, a pair of black skinny jeans covered her legs and her feet were enclosed in ballet flats. Her hair was pinned on one side and her makeup was light, she wore no jewellery and she had her bag slung around her shoulders.
Y/N descended the stairs and grabbed a berry yogurt from the fridge for breakfast and waited for her brother.
Jack came down the stairs a few minutes later and nodded at her, picking up his backpack and an apple, grabbing his keys they were about to leave when their father came out from the study.
He was always in the study.
"Where are you going dressed like that?" He asked Y/N, his breath heavy with the scent of alcohol. Y/N looked down at her attire, not seeing anything wrong with it.
"What's wrong with it?" She asked cautiously, standing closer to Jack.
When her father drank, he drank until he couldn't see anymore and he always asked or commented on Y/N's looks and she knew why. She looked exactly like her mother. Jack always came to her rescue when he started on a tirade, she was grateful to have such a loving brother.
"It looks like you are trying to impress a man. I want to know who?" Y/N cringed back at the look her father gave her. She hated it when he was like this.
Ever since their mother had abandoned them, Y/N's father had indulged in Alcohol and, as a result, had lost his job. They had nearly lost their home until, one day; their father had snapped out of it and got himself together. He got another job and was earning good money, Jack got a part time job for extra money and Y/N also got a summer job to pay for art classes.
He still drank and when he did, Y/N would rather avoid him.
"No one sir, I was just trying out a new style."
"What's it called? Whore?"
"Father." Jack stepped in, standing between Y/N and their father. "Enough. You're drunk."
"Just like your mother, she abandoned you kids, I stayed and this is how you repay me? By looking like something out of a x-rated movie?"
Y/N bit her lip and kept her tears at bay.
He wasn't her daddy right now. He was the thing that their mother had made.
"Y/N," Jack whispered. "Go to the car." Y/N did and waited for Jack.
When he appeared she was fidgeting with her outfit.
"Y/N, you look beautiful. Don't listen to him."
She smiled as he unlocked the car. She put her stuff on the back seat and sat, buckling her seat belt and fiddling with the music as he took off towards school.
"But out of pure curiosity, who are you trying to impress?"
My pen pal from kindergarten who just moved to this school.
"No one, just trying something new."
#####
Harry rolled his eyes, walking along behind the chick giving him the tour of the school.
Isabella? That was her name he thought. She seemed to like to talk and look at herself and look at Harry. Typical Barbie teenager, he could have her in minutes if he wanted, but he was far too anxious about where he was and who he knew was here. He felt oddly nervous, but he didn't know why. He knew that he was good looking—okay, that was an understatement—he could get any girl he wanted with a snap of his fingers, but it was different now.
He knew everything about Y/N—except for what she looked like, which was a big thing for Harry. He could admit that he was shallow, he always went for the easy girls as opposed to any other girl, but he doubted that Y/N was easy.
The fact that she had a boyfriend said so.
Harry clenched his jaw at that thought, it was ridiculous to get annoyed over one word, but Y/N having a boyfriend was not the way he had pictured their first meeting to go. He expected her to fall into his arms or his bed, depending on the location.
He had to stop thinking of Y/N like that. They were friends, best friends, and had been since she was five and he was six, he loved her like a friend and cared about her. He lived for the days they would talk for hours. He loved being able to open up to her.
He loved having a girl as his friend that cared about him even though she had no idea what he looked like.
"And this is the cafeteria. You can sit with me, you said you played soccer right?" Harry nodded at Isabella's question. "Good, I sit with some soccer players." They walked into the room; it was white and blue with long tables and benches. There was a lineup for the food but Harry wrinkled his nose.
He never ate cafeteria food; he always brought his own lunch.
He had told his Grandmother this and she had packed him a lunch. His stomach growled thinking about it.
"Did you want some food?" She asked.
"I have some with me." He responded, giving her his signature smirk. She smiled back at him and batted her eyelashes as she trotted off to a table in the back with a group of boys and girls. Isabella sat and gestured to a spare seat next to her in which Harry took.
"Everyone," She announced, gesturing to the group as a whole. "This is Harry Styles, he's new. He moved here from England and he too plays soccer."
"Interested in trying out? We need a new player." A boy with light silver-white hair asked.
"Sure," Harry responded nonchalantly, when really the prospect of playing the game he loved so much gave him a kick of adrenaline.
"Excellent. Come to practice this afternoon." He reached over offering his hand. "I'm Jack, captain, goalie." Harry shook his hand, recognising the name.
My older brother, Jack, is starting second grade next year.
Jack starts high school soon.
My brother got into the soccer team.
Jack was made captain!
So, this was Y/N's brother. He studied the boy, trying to imagine his features on a girl. An image rose. Dark eyes, contrasting with a pale complexion, tall and stringy, like a beanstalk, with a bit of athleticism due to cheerleading and long silvery hair.
Harry wasn't entirely put off by the image.
"That's Isabella, as you know." Jack continued, pointing to the girl next to him. "Cherr captain. Laney and Kayla are also cheerleaders. Liam, Jared are also on the team. The others are around somewhere, but we all prefer each other's company."
Harry acknowledged everyone with a nod, noting that Liam was a boy with dark hair and eyes and was also, he suspected, Y/N's boyfriend.
This guy, one of my brothers' friends, asked me out so I won't be able to talk tonight.
Liam, the guy I went on a date with, asked me to be his girlfriend. I said yes.
Harry knew he was much better looking.
Harry looked around the cafeteria, trying to see if he could spot her.
"Ah," Jack said and here comes the most important member of our group.
Harry looked to where Jack was pointing and saw a girl walking towards them, tray in hand. Her eyes met Harry's and everything seemed to go silent. She was beautiful, not a generic beauty, but someone who didn't know how beautiful they were. Hair in a braid at her side, big luminous eyes widened as they looked at Harry. A small frame, with some muscle.
"Who?" Harry asked, not able to tear his eyes from her. His study happened in a split second; no one noticed that they had shared a moment.
A moment he would never forget.
"My sister."
The moment he first saw his Y/N.
#####
"Come on Y/N, you don't want to miss him, he is so hot." Stella, her partner in science, pushed Y/N out of the class.
She was trying to get Y/N to the cafeteria to see the new boy, she had heard about him all day and received an excited message from Isabella saying she was escorting him. She had heard he was hot but she knew something about him that no one else did.
The new boy was Harry Styles, her pen pal for over ten years.
Y/N was nervous as her and Stella approached the cafeteria, Stella scanned the room and her shoulders slumped in disappointment.
"He isn't here yet. Let's line up, by the time we get our food, he should be here."
Y/N waited in line, noting that her brother and boyfriend came through and immediately sat down. They never ate school food. Y/N was envious. She hated the oily, bland food they made. She made a note to go car shopping sooner so that she could leave during lunch and buy something.
Y/N got her tray and on it placed an apple juice, a salad, a chocolate muffin and a small bowl of Mac 'n' Cheese.
Y/N decided to sit at her Brother's table today—well Isabella had decided for her—and as she made her way over, she stopped dead in her tracks as her eyes met with him.
His eyes were bright, emerald green and his hair was shaggy and brunette, falling under his chin and just above his eyes. His skin was sun kissed and he had an athlete's build. He was the most handsome boy Y/N had ever seen. Then it registered.
She had never seen this boy before, he was sitting with her brother, her boyfriend and Isabella and he, too, was staring at her.
She felt a lump build in her throat and she didn't need Stella's input.
"That's him, the new boy."
Y/N gulped and suddenly felt the urge to run and hide.
The new boy.
Her boy.
Her best friend.
Harry Styles, her Harry.
Y/N was able to move from her spot once Stella broke the trance she had been in.
She didn't look at him when she got to the table, taking a seat next to Liam and realising with annoyance that Harry was across from her. She couldn't look at him, then they would all know. They would know she knew Harry, she cared for Harry and she couldn't let that happen.
"Hey baby," Liam said as she settled in her seat. Leaning forward to kiss her on the cheek. Y/N's eyes inadvertently went to Harry as his lips made contact. His eyes blazed and his jaw tightened as Liam kissed her, but Y/N didn't understand why.
"Ow," Liam said as he pulled away, glaring at Jack. "Who just throws bread at someone?"
"That's my sister," Jack said. "Next time, it won't be bread."
"Jack, you are so overprotective. I am not a baby anymore" Y/N said, looking at her brother. It was the first words she had spoken since seeing Harry. She didn't look at him or tried not to anyway.
"Y/N!" Isabella said excitedly, drawing her attention. "This is Harry Styles; new guy from England, your brother is letting him try out for the team!"
Isabella, I know more about him than you, shut up and stop looking at him like that!
Y/N let her gaze go to Harry.
"Really? You must be something special to get that stubborn JACKass to let you try out." She smiled innocently at Jack.
"Oh you have no idea." Harry replied, his voice like heaven.
"We'll see about that." Liam said, slinging his arm around Y/N. "Are you coming to see his tryout babe?"
Y/N looked over at Harry who smirked at her quickly before glancing down at his untouched lunch. He seemed to have packed lunch, Y/N found that cute.
"Wouldn't miss it."
###
Y/N changed into some workout clothes.
"Alright," Isabella said as they stretched on the field. "We are going to practice the cheers for next weeks game, because frankly you suck at it. Let's go!"
Isabella was nothing if not direct.
She looked out at the field and saw Liam; he smiled and waved to her. Jack saw this and whacked him over the head.
Y/N couldn't help but laugh at that.
Then she noticed Harry and all laughter died as they looked at one another from across the field. He was shirtless, and boy did he look good, and he made it no secret to check her out. Y/N turned from him before Liam or Jack saw the look Harry was giving her.
She was distracted all through practice, but luckily, she wasn't the worse one here. A lot of the other girls were distracted by Harry too. Y/N tried not to dwell on that.
As the cheerleaders were packing, Y/N noticed Jack and Harry shaking hands and smiling.
He must have made the team
She saw Liam then and he began to walk over to her, she smiled and walked over to him, after having packed up what she was supposed to, and he wrapped his arms around her, resting his head on top of hers.
"So, Harry is a pretty good player isn't he?" Y/N said as she pulled away from Liam, taking his hand and walking to where she would change.
"Yeah, I guess so, hopefully he will be enough to get us out of this slump."
"I'm sure he will be." They had reached the entrance to the girl's locker room and Y/N looked up at Liam, his brown eyes smiling at her.
"Do you want me to take you home?"
Y/N was about to say no, that Jack gave her a lift to school and would take her home but then she thought about how little time she spent with Liam and nodded, hurrying to get changed and coming back out in record time.
"That was fast." He commented, smirking at her as he took her school bag.
"Well, I wanted to spend time with you." Y/N crinkled her nose. The girl's locker room always smelled like perfume, too much perfume and all of different scents. It got quite difficult to breathe in there.
"Cutie."Liam bent down and brushed his lips over Y/N's.
Liam pulled back grinned, Y/N stood and stared up at him, unable to form words.
The kiss was small, short and...Nice.
"Why Miss Y/L/N I do believe my kissing has stunned you into silence. I am quite good."
Y/N shook her head and shoved his arm playfully, about to say something smartass back to him when something caught her eyes. A flash, retreating into the boys' locker room.
Harry?
She turned back to Liam and they continued walking, they were nearly at his car when she remembered something. Slapping a hand to her forehead. Liam looked down at her in concern.
"Shoot, I forgot my homework in my locker. I'll be right back." She began to run towards the school.
"Do you want me to come with you?"
"I'll meet you at the car in a couple of minutes." She called back to him, dashing into the doors and running to her locker.
She put in the combination and got the book she needed, shutting her locker door she turned to go and jumped, seeing something she hadn't noticed before.
"Well, alone at last."
Y/N looked up at the person before her, feeling her insides melt.
"Harry," She breathed, unable to say anything but his name.
"Well Y/N, we meet at last."
Y/N looked up at Harry. She wasn't ready for this, no matter how many times she told herself she was, she wasn't and she realised she never would be ready to meet Harry. He was someone that she could turn to when she needed a shoulder to cry on. He was someone she could tell everything to—she had told everything to him and he was her best friend, someone who knew her better than anyone and now that he was here, she regretted telling him all those things. She regretted letting Harry in.
"I should go," she mumbled and started to walk away. Harry grabbed her arm and she spun, nearly head butting his chest. For a moment she stood frozen and, annoyingly, a song started playing through her head, one that she should not be thinking about when she had a boyfriend.
At last, my love has come along, my lonely days are over.
"Y/N" Harry whispered and she saw how close their faces were, his lips mere centimetres from hers. If she leaned forward, just a little, they would kiss and she had thought about kissing Harry plenty. Harry seemed to be thinking the same thing. His eyes travelled down to her lips and then back to her eyes. He was about to say something. Y/N wanted to hear it, she wanted to hear what he had to say to her, but the trance they were in was broken when Harry smirked down at her and spoke.
"I always imagined our meeting to go a little...differently."
Y/N didn't like his tone and managed to step out of his grip on her arm.
"You've imagined our meeting?" She asked, her voice coming out a little breathlessly.
"All the time, Y/N," she tried not to think of how her nickname—the name only he called her—sounded like a caress. "I mean, we've known each other for years and we have never met. I've always wondered what it would be like." He grinned wickedly at her and Y/N felt herself respond with a small, teasing, smile. One Isabella had taught her.
Damn her flirting classes to the pits of hell!
"Well, it's great to, you know, finally meet you. We should definitely hang out some—" Harry placed a hand over her mouth and moved his eyes in the direction of an empty room. Y/N felt her brow furrowed in confusion and then she registered the sound of footsteps. She didn't have time to respond before Harry was walking towards the room, with her in tow, locking the door and pulling the blind down.
"Harry," She hissed. "What are you—?"
"Y/N?"
The voice came from the hallway and Y/N widened her eyes as she recognised it. Harry put a finger to his lips in the international sign for silence.
"Y/N, baby?"
Liam was walking past the door and Y/N had to resist the urge to yell out his name, Harry saw this and leaned into her, whispering in her ear. His breath caused her to shiver.
"Y/N, I just want to talk to you alone."
"Harry, he's my ride home and my boyfriend," she said defensively.
"Text him and tell him you need to do something really quickly and you'll be out soon."
Y/N looked up at Harry, planning on defying him and then she thought about it. She would never be alone with Harry again and she had wanted to meet him—talk to him in person—for years. Perhaps she should listen.
She took her phone out and sent a quick text to Liam.
Hey babe. Running late, meet you out the front in a few? Sorry for taking so long xox
Harry gave her an approving look as they heard Liam's phone go off and he headed back down the hallway, leaving the school.
"Okay, you have five minutes, what?" She asked Harry.
The Harry in her head looked like the Harry before her except for the attitude. Her Harry was sweet, funny and romantic. Harry, though funny, didn't seem to have anything sweet in him.
"Cute," Harry said and she looked up seeing one corner of his mouth was turned up in a smile.
"What is?" She asked.
"You," he grinned and Y/N grinned back. Then her smiled faded as he kept looking her up and down. Y/N squirmed uncomfortably under his scrutiny. He was looking at her like...like a piece of meat, ogling her. This was not how she imagined Harry would look at her; she imagined kindness to shine from his eyes and a feeling of safety to wrap around her.
Right now, all she felt was...uncomfortable.
"Look Harry," Y/N said, raising her eyes to his. "I really need to go," she said firmly, trying to get him to shake off the look of a stranger checking out the best piece of ass. He didn't.
"Oh Y/N, I have been waiting to meet you for over ten years and you're just going to walk away from me?" He shook his head. "I thought we were friends, best friends."
"We were—are—but Harry, I really need to go. I'll—I'll talk to you later, tonight, okay?" He gave her a curious look.
"No girl," he said slowly, "has ever walked away from me. It is unfamiliar and quite disconcerting. I don't like it very much but it seems to make you far more endearing. I enjoy a good chase, Y/N," he raised his eyebrows suggestively. "But be warned, I am quite good at catching what I want."
Y/N looked at him with disgust and shoved past him.
So this was who her best friend really was, an asshat that liked to use girls. Well, she wasn't going to be one of them.
"If I had known this is what you were really like," she said, hand on the door knob, turning to face him, "I never would have kept writing to you."
Harry drummed his fingers in time with the music on the steering wheel of his car.
He was driving to a local corner store, a mini mart of sorts, to get some things for his grandmother. He didn't mind helping her. She was letting him live with her, rent free and even gave him money for doing her favours. Harry didn't want to take it, but she was pushy and would put it in his wallet while he was asleep.
He smiled at the thought.
"I never would have kept writing to you."
His smile fell as that unpleasant thought worked its way into his mind and he slammed his hand, hard, on the steering wheel, berating himself. He couldn't believe how bad his meeting with Y/N went. He was such an ass. He knew he was, he could proudly admit it and also admit to the fact that there was no hidden reason behind his being an ass, no woman who scorned him, no abusive relationship with his parents and no reason at all.
Except that he was an ass and he enjoyed being an ass.
Mostly.
His arrogance only got him so far in life. Sometimes he would have to reel it in and suck up his pride and stop being an ass. Perhaps he should have done that with Y/N.
She had always been there for him, since he was six years old and first received her letter. When he found out she was a girl he was instantly annoyed, girls had cooties, but he wrote back anyway. That stupid egg headed boyfriend of hers had  called her baby and Harry had to suppress a laugh at that, he had had so many babies in his short life and knew that more would come. But there is only one Y/N
It had been a week since Y/N had spoken to him and if she did look at him, she glared. It bothered Harry, more than he was willing to admit, that this girl he had known for so long—and had finally met—may hate him. He had no one but himself to blame, it was easy to act differently when typing on a computer or writing a letter.
Harry only acted that way with family and very close friends. Never had he acted the way he had with Y/N with any other girl. He had never given them special nicknames or blown off parties to 'hang out'. He never stayed up all night talking or anxiously awaiting a reply.
He had never wanted someone like he wanted Y/N.
Not in a physical way, although she was remarkably good looking. He wanted Y/N on an emotional level too. He wanted to kiss her if he wanted and do things to her he had done before with other girls, but he also wanted to be able to talk to her, to tell her how he felt and have her listen and in turn, listen to her.
Was this love he was feeling? Had he fallen in love with the girl who never wrote in cursive and never stuck to one pen colour?
Harry thought about it and a startling revelation came to him.
He was most definitely in love with Y/N.
There was no other way to explain his feelings and even—dear god!—the silly grin that was now on his face as he thought about it. He pulled up to a red light and groaned, hitting the steering wheel.
I'm in love with my best friend and treated her like crap.
God he was stupid.
Y/N had been a constant in his life. He had always been able to turn to her for comfort and she had turned to him. He knew more about her than anyone probably did. He knew that when her mother left, Y/N had cut one line along her wrist and then looked at herself in disgust for doing it because her mother didn't deserve her blood. He knew that she hadn't spoken to her mother—Val—since she walked out, and he knew what her father would call her when he was drunk.
He knew her favourite colours, movies, T.V. shows, books and what she wanted to do. He knew her fears and her dreams. He knew that she loved carrots and detested broccoli. He knew that she would only ever dot her I's with hearts if hell froze over, and she liked to draw smiley faces on the toes of her converse.
He smiled thinking about it all and then he saw her in his memory, the way she had looked when he had first laid eyes on her and his heart sped up.
I am in love, aren't I?
He didn't understand how he was in love. He always thought he would fall in love when he was older. He knew Y/N, inside and out and he realised that he had been falling in love with her, slowly, since that first letter and had been in love with her long before he saw her.
Harry jolted with surprise at that, as the light turned green and he continued to drive, he was shallow. He knew it. He only ever paid attention to a girl if she was good looking and flaunted it; tight tops, pants, short skirts, the lot. If you didn't have any of that, he wasn't interested.
With Y/N it was different, he had never seen her before and yet he always wanted to spend his time with her. Re-reading her letters, seeing if she was online, anything really. He made excuses to stay in and talk to her. He would rush home if he knew he would receive a letter from her and butterflies would go crazy in his stomach as he saw the envelope.
She always wrote on nice stationery and sprayed the letter with perfume.
He loved going on her words, tracing them with his fingers.
God, Harry thought as he pulled into the car park for the store and got out, locking his silver Audi and moving to the entrance of the store.
He froze for a moment, the last thought in his mind, whirring around as he looked at the one person behind the counter and his heart soared. They didn't see him and he ducked into an aisle as he calmed his heart and that thought that was still nagging at him.
God, I'm in love with Y/N.
#####
"Isabella, I only have a short break, what do you want?"
Y/N held the phone against her ear and shoulder as she listened to Isabella babble about the upcoming school dance. She rolled her eyes, her school had too many dances. This one was a welcoming back dance, although it wasn't scheduled for another month or so, but Isabella always had to start preparing early.
"I'm thinking blue, maybe. I think I look good in blue and gold for you. Maybe not blue, that would clash with the gold. I know, red! I'll wear red and gold and you can wear gold and red!" She chirped excitedly.
"What's the difference?" Y/N asked, opening her chocolate bar.
"Red is my feature colour, so it will be the colour of my dress and nails and lip stick and I will have gold shoes and accessories. Gold will be your feature colour and red you sub colour. Duh Y/N, have I taught you nothing?"
She rolled her eyes, thankful that Izzy couldn't see her.
"Alright, but red and gold remind me of curtains."
"Curtains?"
"Yeah, like older mansions always had red curtains and gold ropes and poles," she shrugged. "Reminds me of curtains, plus, red doesn't go with skin tone.”
"So what colour would you suggest for yourself?"
"Black."
There was a pause and then Isabella yelled into the phone.
"Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N! You are not going to another dance in a black dress! For the love of God! Wear some colour!"
"But black is—"
"Black is a colour you wear once in a while. Not. At. Every. Social. Function," Isabella ground out and Y/N winced. "That's it! I managed to get you to dress like a girl everyday now I have to get you to dress in colours when we go out. I am scheduling a shopping trip...Two weeks before the dance. For now, we will browse online."
"Isabella—"
"What are you wearing right now?"
"A skirt and top."
"Elaborate, Y/N. Shape, colour, design?"
She sighed but continued, knowing Isabella wouldn't stop until she had an answer.
"A green skirt that is longer at the back and zips up the front and a white tank top tucked into the waist band of the skirt. My shoes are white enclosed with a wedge heel design and I am wearing gold bracelets and a silver necklace with a heart on it."
"Good girl, see? If it weren't for me, you'd be dressed like Will." Y/N didn't try to deny it.
"Isabella, I really think—"
"No excuses. It's written. It's done. Get your fabulously dressed butt back to work and call me later."
Isabella hung up and Y/N stared at the phone for a moment before sighing and putting it back in her bra—girl's gotta do what a girl's got to do—and headed back out to the register, where Mr. Stark had been managing the register.
Mr. Stark owned the small convenience store that Y/N worked at and had been good friends with her father—still was apparently, and she got the job with no problems. The pay was good and the hours flexible.
Smiling at the old man, she took her seat behind the register and waited, flipping through a magazine as she did. She heard the bell above the door chime but didn't look up, until she felt a tingle go through her and when she looked, no one was there. She frowned and then shrugged. They probably went down an aisle.
Returning to her magazine, Y/N thought through Isabella's words.
Did she need to wear more colours? Did Isabella have a point in helping her change her wardrobe from drabby to, as she says, fabby?
Looking down at herself, her style had definitely changed and Y/N liked it, maybe she should stop wearing black dresses to every dance.
Y/N saw in her peripheral a customer approach and stowed her magazine away, scanner in hand. Looking up she saw, to her dismay, who it was that was placing the items down. Locking her jaw, she decided not to acknowledge him and started scanning and placing in the paper bags that Mr. Stark used, insisting it was better than plastic. When she finished scanning, she was annoyed to find that she had to acknowledge his presence.
"Will that be all?" She asked, not quite meeting Harry's eyes. The green seemed to blaze into her.
"I think so, Y/N." The name was like a caress and Y/N had to suppress a shiver of delight. "Actually," Harry amended and Y/N looked up from typing in the total. "One more thing, when do you get off?"
"Do you use that line on every girl?" She asked, typing in the total as Harry fished bills from his wallet and handed them to her.
"Only girls I like." Y/N didn't pause in counting his change, but his words caused a thrill to go through her. "So, when do you get off?"
"Why?" She asked, handing him back his change.
"Because I want to talk, don't friends usually talk?"
"Friends yes, I wasn't aware we were friends Harry," she responded, still refusing to meet his gaze.
"Y/N," He sighed. "What I said, it was completely out of line. I—I'm sorry. I was so nervous meeting you. I mean, you imagine something for so long you want it to go perfectly and then you lose all sense and start blabbering." He ran a hand through his hair and Y/N finally met his gaze.
She could see that he was sorry, in the depths of green there was regret.
"I get off at 4," she said, which was an hour away.
"Would you mind—would you mind if I took you home?"
Y/N looked up at him and saw that he was nervous. Harry had always seemed so confident in his letters and typing that she hadn't thought he could get nervous and with his looks, she thought there was no need. Although what he had said to her still hurt, she had known Harry was a player, he had told her as much, but she had never thought—never imagined—that he would treat her like one of those countless other girls, and that hurt more than words could describe.
Her decision was made as she quickly mulled that over and she told him her answer.

Being with Chris had its many perks but not working was definitely one Maya never wanted to take advantage of.
When Chris first brought it up when they got engaged she looked at him like he had two heads and said “I worked to hard put myself through school to get these expensive ass letters behind my name to just stay my ass at home” and that was the last time they had that conversation.
But fast forward to 2020 If you told Maya that she would have to close both of her dermatology offices in the middle of award season a few months ago she would have laughed at you.
She just couldn’t see herself not working because she loved what she does, but with both New York and Boston putting in place stay at home orders there’s nothing she could do.
It didn't help that it was only Maya in Boston dealing with work and all that entails, Delilah's up in the air school situation, and a whole hoax of things while Chris was in L A being as supportive of a husband and father as he could be on the other side of the country.
At least Dodger was being pretty normal.
Thanks to Chris's family for being so helpful where they could because for a minute Maya felt like she was beginning to drown.
This saga starts with the beginning of the pandemic.
January was chill there were whispers that there was a deadly pandemic on the horizon but no one took it seriously.
February Chris had left at the beginning of the month to LA to promote his new show Defending Jacob and it wasn't like anything out of the ordinary the couple worked, and called each other daily.
Chris told her he'd have to be there through March but would be home in time for Maya's birthday in April.
Her lawsuit against Boston PD was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount that was donated to charity and trust me that lawsuit cost them a pretty penny because Chris was threatening to go to the press and Boston PD did not need anymore negative press.
After finding out that the older officer already had many reports against him for abuse of power he was "let go" by Boston PD and the other officer was demoted to desk duty and sent Maya an apology letter for his actions
She thinks he only did it because her husband is Chris Evans but she tries not to be a cynic.
In mid March with her offices were forced to close and the lives of her twenty employees were in her hands, but sin there was no money coming in she had to regrettably furlough all of them until she could open back up.
This news could come at a worse time because Lilah's school was trying to transition them to online learning for the rest of the year.
So Maya now had to also be her home school teacher for the last 2 months before summer vacation .
Maya does feel blessed because she was still able to teach some derm online classes through NYU, and her family was healthy but Chris still wasn't home.
Because of travel restrictions in LA on April 1st Maya found out that the earliest Chris could be home was in possibly July or Mid June if they are lucky because he need to start filming for Grey Man that was set in Boston.
Then rumors started to swirl that Chris could be cheating on Maya but
She doesn't play that and isn't a dummy
Chris isn't stupid and
He's been in their home in LA quarenting with his brother Scott the whole time so if some foul shit did happen she would be the first one to know and on the first jet smoking to beat some ass.
But hey when it rains it pours.
In interviews Chris would say he was "quartining with his family at home in Boston."
They would try to make the spaces look just like Chris and Maya's homebase in Boston even going as far as strategically moving photos of them in the background to make it look like his office at home.
And it actually work most people thought Chris was in Boston anyways and it was all gossip the others thought he went back home to clean up this mess.
But nope Chris was not in Boston he was 2,764 miles away and this time it all just felt different and he hated not being able to be there with them during this crazy uncertain time and Maya just needed a vacation.
In April Maya and Delilah just had dinner at the house for her birthday they facetimed Chris and once Liliah had gone to bed Chris and Maya had sexytime over the phone.
The rest of the month Maya just went with the flow and did the same through June.
Now we are all caught up and in the present day.
It's Chris's 39th birthday but he was still in LA.
Maya stayed up to call him at midnight in LA because that was their tradition but now it was about 12pm and Chris has not picked up any of her phone calls Maya was annoyed.
Maya and Delilah sat in the Den as Maya was detangling Delilah's freshly washed hair getting ready to put her curly hair into braids as Mulan played on the tv in front of them.
"Mommy can I call dad it's his birthday and I haven't got to talk to him today. Lilah says playing with Maya's phone.
"Go ahead sweetheart maybe you'll have better luck them me." said Maya as she sectioned Lilah's hair.
As the facetime ringtone went Dodger who was laying in his dog bed next to Lilah began to bark and then he ran for the front door Maya looked that way but didn't see anything since the alarm didn't go off either which she found strange.
She shrugged it off only for a second until she heard a bag hit the ground as she quickly stood up the only thought in her head was to protect Delilah helping her to hide under the couch.
As the person entered their den Dodger continued to bark and she grabbed a pair hair scissors about to attack the intruder until she saw his face and exhaled the breath she didn't even know she was holding.
"CHRIS you scared the shit out of me" she said before he could say anything.
He laughed "Baby I didn't mean to scare you" Chris said
Lilah screamed and crawled from under the couch.
"daddy, daddy, daddy I missed you and Happy Birthday." Lilah said running into Chris's arm.
"I missed you to babycakes you been taking care of mommy for me" Chris said holding Lilah and walking towards a still shocked Maya.
He kissed Maya's forehead trying to pull her into a hug but she rolled her eyes and pushed his hand away.
"Chris i thought you weren't coming home till July" Maya asked
Chris shrugged "plans change now are you gonna come and give daddy a kiss you what"
He said flopping on the couch with Lilah on his lap.
Mays sucked her teeth peeked his lips and told Lilah to come so she could finish her hair.
Her saltiness cause Chris to laugh as Lilah moved over to her mom.
They were sitting on the same couch so Chris bent over and began to whisper in her ear. "Stop acting like that baby I wanted to surprise you"
Maya gave minimal response and Chris didn't like that so then he brought heat.
When he walked Maya had on a beige short set the top was fairly tin and the shorts barely covered her ass, he could see her nipples stand at attention on her delicious breast when walked.
It's been 3 months since he's had sex with his wife and boy can he feel it. He gave her tigh a firm squeeze now pecking her spot behind her ear forcing Maya to stop mid greasing Lilah's scalp to take a deep breath.
"if you stop acting up tonight I'll do that thing with my tongue that you like if not daddy won't be letting you cum at all tonight.
Chris said moving his body back to his original position smirking at his shooken up wife whose attitude did a 180 quick, fast and in a hurry.
Chris was no home and with his girls and he couldn’t be any happier.
After braiding Delilah's hair Maya went and they dropped her off at Chris’s moms which was a fight in itself because she wanted to stay with her daddy but Maya had other plans.
The original plan was to take Chris out of the country for his birthday but plans change.
Before Chris showed up today Maya had nothing planned for Chris's birthday because he was not suppose to be home they were just going to the same thing they did for her birthday.
On there way back home my had an idea with there hands intertwined Maya began to speak.
“So birthday boy what do you want to do for your birthday” Maya asked
“You know I don’t care as long as I’m with you my love” Chris said kissing her hand.
Maya giggled “Well we’ve dropped Dede at your moms and Scott said he could take Dodger”
She states looking at the puppy through the rear view mirror as Chris began to rub is thumb over her knuckles.
“It seems you already have a plan for us babe” he smirks
“I know you are just getting home but how about we drop Dodger off and I was thinking maybe drive to New York, I need to get out of Boston and have a bit of a staycation”. She said.
Chris chuckled and looked at Maya as the stopped at the red light.
“Wherever you lead I’ll follow. He said
“You are so corny old man” Maya laughed as she leaned over and peek his sweet lips.
They continued their drive to Scotts and talked enjoying eachothers company for the first time in a while, they were so wrapped up in each other that Dodger had to bark to remind Chris he was about to pass Scoots house .
Maya laughed at the puppy then pet him telling him how good of a dog he is.
“Alright birthday boy Scott has Dodger now let's switch its my turn to drive you around” She said.
They headed home to pick up a few things and then The Evans were off and headed for there trip.
After the 3 and 1/2 hour drive they got to New York and the barren streets shocked them.
They are staying in there penthouse apartment on the upper east side that over looks Central Park and New York's famous skyline.
Before settling in Maya decided to get groceries once she got back Jazz played softly in her ears as the punchy aroma of the candle Slow Burn hit her nose.
“Hey Chris I'm back” she called out to him.
She was met without a response just the smooth stylings of Frank Sinatra.
Maya put the groceries in the kitchen and headed to their master bedroom.
Kicking her shoes off and following the rose petals into the bathroom that revealed Chris who sat in all his glory in the pink tinted bathtub.
Apparently he did not hear her as his eyes stayed closed and his arms outstretched.
And all Maya could do was admire the greek god that was her husband.
His long wingspan encompassed the entire back of the tub as his strong biceps would flex ever deep breath he took. And don't to get Maya started on those baby blues which were one of the only things Lilah did not get from Chris. Those same blue eyes were now looking straight at her.
“I was hoping you’d be back soon” he said
Raising his head to look at his goddess of a wife smirking at him.
“So I’m guessing you would like me to join you?” She asked
Maya teased him as she began to slowly remove her clothes.
“Hey aren’t I the birthday boy that shouldn’t even be a question Maya so you better bring your sexy ass in here” Chris said to her as his arms still laid on the back of the tub looking like a king”
Maya stepped in with Chris’s help the warm water encapsulating her body as she sinks down.
She sighs in satisfaction when her body is finally completely in the water as she lays into Chris’s embrace.
They just sit there and enjoy each other company, washing the dirt off of each other from the day, and stealing kisses from one another.
Maya and Chris were that couple you loved to hate they didn’t show off their love that much with Chris’s anxiety and Maya’s destain for public scrutiny because she’s black woman with a man of Chris stature, PDA was mostly off the table. However behind closed doors they are the cutest most intimate couple you’d ever meet.
Once she was clean from her road dirt Maya left the water first placing a kiss on Chris’s lips as she headed to start dinner and Chris laid back and continued to relax.
Once Chris finally got out the bath he found Maya in the kitchen halfway finished with dinner.
“Jesus babe it smells fantastic in here and I see you changed the music” Chris said
He was now fully dressed in a blue t-shit in matching joggers, his hair damp from the bath as Lauryn Hill's rendition of Can't Take My Eyes off of You played in the background.
She chuckled “only the best for you my king”
"Mhm I like the sound of that" He said as he went in the fridge and grabbed a bottle of white wine and poured them both a glass.
She was at the counter cutting up veggies.
“Ok so how long do I have wait before I can devour all this?” he asked placing the glass in front of Maya.
They took their first cheers of the night tapping the glasses together.
Maya took a sip and moan at the taste of the wine.
“Soon Chris don’t stress it babe you will be fed very soon” she said.
Her hips began to sway to the music as she hummed along.
At long last, love has arrived, and I thank God I'm alive
Chris walked up behind her wrapping her arms around waist swaying with her body and catching the rhythm.
You're just too good to be true, can't take my eyes off you
Moving her hair to her left shoulder Chris begins to kiss her neck.
"Remember when we first bought this place." Chris asked
"Yes you didn't want to you said my place in Brooklyn was enough for us" Maya said putting the knife down and melted into Chris's strong arms.
"Mmm but you did an excellent job at convincing me why we need this place, 3 bedrooms right in the Heart of the city just for times likes these when want to get away." Chris said with his arms still wrapped around her.
She laughed "I thought it was because you fucked me against the balcony on our terrace is why you said yes"
He smirked at the memory "well that to"
Chris sucked on her neck and moved his down her satin dress but the timer on the pot decided to be a cock block and go off before he could make a move.
He groaned and Maya laughed directed him to get ready to eat.
Just as the food was finishing up Chris set the dining table for two, taking the rest of the flowers from his bath laying them out between the kitchen and there Terrence where they were having dinner overlooking the city.
Tumblr media
It was a beautiful night. There was a soft breeze and the city was a glow quieter that usual but still a sight to behold.
Maya brought out the food as Chris poured them another glass, they both sat prayed then rose their glasses to cheers again.
During dinner Chris made some corny jokes that always seemed to put Maya in a better mood as Maya would slyly rub her foot up Chris’s pant leg.
Next came dessert still out on the terrace they shared a slice of cake (more like Maya fed Chris cake) which is how she ended up in his lap enjoying the very expensive yet immaculate view they had from their home.
He rubbed her thigh as he kisses her shoulder just thinking of the fastest way to get Maya out of her dress.
"god you are beautiful" Chris said
His hand now playing with the trim of her panties under her strappy white satin dress.
"Oh no birthday boy you not fucking me out here tonight you gotta come inside for your last present" Maya said.
Chris groaned Maya got up seductively waking back inside her curves just begging him to follow her
“This woman Is going to be the death of me” Chris thought as he came back inside and closed the door that lead to the terrace.
Maya handed Chris his third and final glass of wine of the night.
He raised an eyebrow "Are you trying to get me drunk Mrs. Evans so you can have your way with me?" he asked.
Taking a sip from his glass he smacked Maya the ass and watched it move as she walked towards their living room.
She laughed "I wouldn't have to get you drunk to have my way with you Mr. Evans"
Their living room had floor to ceiling windows that overlook Chris's second favorite city, and that's where Maya stood wine glass in hand looking all the people that looked like ants. But all Chris could think about was how this woman fell for him.
She watched the scenery and he watched her but when that signature trumpet blew he remembered that the music was still playing and so did she.
Maya turned around to see Chris was watching her one hand in his pocket and the other still holding his wine, she made a face at him.
"What are you looking at me like that Chris, you ok?” she asked hand on her hip taking another drink from her glass.
The moon shined off her skin like she was in the sun, her white dress reminding him of their wedding day the way it hugged her figure.
Still speechless Chris walked up to her placing both of their glasses on the coffee table, he brushed her hair behind her ear and she moans nuzzling her head in his touch.
"Baby I am absolutely perfect because I am here with you" he says.
Chris softly pulls her by the waist bringing her flush against her body as raspy voice of Louis Armstrong in Le Vie En Rose brought butterfly’s to Maya’s stomach because this was their song.
His hands lay softly on her waist as her arms lay around his shoulder as they dancer slowly around there living room.
Hold me close and hold me fast, The magic spell you cast, this is la vie en rose.
His cologne sent waves of pleasure and warmth through her body, when Maya laid her head on his chest not wanting to let him go. As their heartbeat became in sync the moonlight casted their sillones on the ground.
They were two lovers who were lost in eachother hoping to never get out and wanting to hide from the world it felt new but familiar.
Once the song ended Chris kissed her so deep and and passionately Maya thought she was gonna cum then and there.
Chris's hands moved from their previously respectable position making circle on her hips to the bottom of her ass telling Maya to jump causing Maya wrap her chocolate legs around his waist.
As Chris walked he kept repeating how much he missed Maya so much while he was in LA.
They couldn’t even make it back to their bedroom for their first round of many.
And Maya was a goner as Chris made love to her all night in every corner of their apartment as the city watched as the couple were engulfed with each other.
But there was a little voice in the back of Maya's head "Well damn how are we going to top 40 next year" it asked.
The preoccupied side of her brain shooed hat thought away so she could just enjoy being with her man at this moment.
Thanking god there was no more space between them like the miles before.

Maya remembers the day her daughter was born like it was yesterday.
It had been a lovely summer evening, on which the air was still toasty from the sun and a warm breeze stirred the tall grass of Ignacia. Kai, only two years old then, had to wait outside while she delivered. He was anything but happy about that. He wanted desperately to stay with his mother, being the concerned little mama's boy that he was. While he was left to pout outside, Ray remained by Maya's side, comforting her as she screamed and pushed and felt like her body was breaking at the seams. Somehow, giving birth seemed to hurt twice as bad this time than it had two years ago. But all that tribulation—nine months of soreness and sickness, plus FSM knows how many hours of labor—was worth it when she got to lay eyes on her daughter for the very first time.
She was perfectly healthy, and beautiful too, the most beautiful baby girl in the whole world. What love Maya felt as she gazed down at the newborn in her arms, every bit as fierce and affectionate as when she'd first held Kai the same way. It was as if her very heart was beaming with joy, sending warmth gushing through her like the current of a river. And oh, how her breath had been taken away when the little girl first opened her eyes. They were a deep, dark gray, like a storm at sea, shining with innocence but also swirling with something deeper, something powerful. Ray said they were like hers, but Maya thought they were far more intense, far more captivating.
The Master of Water had fallen in love twice in her life: the first time with her husband, and the second with her son, the moment she'd first set her gaze on him. On that wonderful summer evening, she found herself in love for a third time.
The first time her daughter wrapped her little hand around her mother's finger, Maya had sensed something. A sort of energy—not yet very powerful, but still there all the same. No doubt it was elemental energy. It wasn't fire, burning with intensity, radiating off her in waves of heat like it did Kai. No, this energy had a calmer, more refreshing feel, like a splash of cool water on a hot summer day. Her second-born, Maya was sure then, would one day become a water elemental. When she told Ray of this revelation, he wasted no time. He'd forged a mobile out of metal to hang above their baby girl's cot. The decorations were ocean-themed, with little whales and seashells and fish with colorfully-painted scales, dangling over the infant as she lay down. Maya remembers how she'd stare at it in fascination, trying to reach up and grab at the charms with her tiny hands.
The discovery of her power also prompted the family to give their daughter a name. Maya had eagerly suggested Nya, after Nyad, the fierce warrior and first Elemental Master of Water. Perhaps then, she thought, she too would grow up to become something great. Ray found it fitting, and from that day forth, their little girl was known as Nya.
Maya would argue that Nya took more to her father than her as a child. She loved it when Ray played with her, squealing and giggling whenever he scooped her up and tickled her. He would flash his wife smug looks every time, causing her to roll her eyes and swat at his arm. Nevertheless, Maya was attached to her daughter, and Nya seemed drawn to her as well. The elemental power of water connected them, the same way little streams and rivers are connected to the ocean, and it was that link that kept the two close-knit.
When her children couldn't sleep—which happened often, seeing how fussy they tended to be—Maya sang to them while Ray watched from the doorway, a fond smile on his face. The words of her lullaby would roll off her tongue, soothing as a siren's song, washing over them like gentle waves. Kai would always drift off by the end, earning a tender kiss from his mother. Very rarely did it work on Nya, however. She would blink up at her, eyes tired but still shining with a look of curiosity.
"Still awake, my sweet girl?" Maya would grin down at her while Ray chuckled from the doorway. "Hm...perhaps you want an encore."
She would launch into another lullaby then, this one about ocean breezes and the songs of whales and mermaids beneath the waves. Her own mother would sing it to her as a little girl, and it still seemed to work after all these years. Her song of the sea would never fail to lull Nya into a peaceful slumber. Maya would lean down and kiss her forehead then, another surge of motherly affection coursing through her.
"Sweet dreams, little water lily."
In her daughter's eyes, she was a protector, and she would do everything in her power to keep her safe.
---------------------------
"Aht aht, careful now. Wouldn't want to do anything foolish."
Krux's blade glints dangerously in the evening sunlight. Maya flinches, feeling it just inches from her throat. Ray holds her shoulders as she trembles with fear and rage, but she barely feels his touch. She's too focused on the look on Krux's face, of smug, twisted satisfaction that she wishes more than anything she could wipe away. Her gut churns and she fights the sick feeling creeping up her throat.
"What do you want with us?" Ray practically spits the words out. He sounds like he's trying to sound firm and unafraid but the waver of his voice gives him away.
"You two are coming with me. I could use your smithing abilities for a little project I'm working on." Venom drips from every word Krux speaks. He glares at the couple, eyes alight and burning with raw hatred. "When I'm through with you, you're going to regret ever creating those blasted Time Blades in the first place."
Maya grinds her teeth. "You're a fool if you think we're going to aid you."
"Well...perhaps I'm a fool, then."
Krux's face contorts in a wicked grin. Maya gasps, feeling Ray's grip on her tighten, as he points toward their children with his blade. Kai and Nya, now five and three years old, play together outside their home a few yards away. Their laughter fills the air, smiles on their faces and eyes bright as they chase each other through the grass.
"Such sweet, innocent little souls," coos their ally-turned-enemy. "It'd be such a shame if something terrible were to happen to them...wouldn't you agree?"
A growl, furious and near-animalistic, rips through Maya's throat as she glares at Krux. Despite Ray's tugging at her shoulder, she takes a shaky step forward. "If you so much as think about harming our children, you'll be sorry."
It's an empty threat, and everyone knows it. The reality is that the odds are stacked horribly against the Smith family. "Maya, please." Ray tugs her back, gently but firmly.  "This isn't a fight we can afford to lose."
"You'd do well to listen to dear old hubby," sneers Krux. "So, my old friends, what will it be? Come with me without resistance, or refuse and let your darling children pay the price?"
Maya feels sick to her stomach—-no, worse than sick, like she might die right here and there. If the lives of her children weren't on the line, she would attack that monster without a second thought. She would kill him. She would make him regret his betrayal, make him sorry he ever threatened her or her family.
Unfortunately, the lives of her children are on the line, which leaves her and Ray with very few options.
The words catch in her throat. They hurt to say. Everything hurts. She forces them from her lips anyway, a declaration of surrender that pierces her harder than Krux's sword ever could.
"We'll...cooperate." Her voice is hardly more than a whisper. "We'll do whatever you want. Just...please, don't hurt our children."
"A wise choice." Krux's eyes practically glow with a sadistic sort of glee. "Come along, then. We haven't any time to waste."
His sword remains pointed at the couple's backs as he corrals them away, like sheep toward the slaughterhouse. Tears blur Maya's vision and she stumbles, nearly collapsing as a heavy sob racks her entire body. She feels Ray's hands on her, steadying her, murmuring encouraging nothings in her ear. His words don't reach her. All she can hear is the laughter of her children. It was once such a wonderful sound, one of pure joy that made her heart swell, but now it's a haunting echo that rings in her head, reminding her of all she's about to lose.
She didn't even get to say goodbye, to tell her babies that she loved them one last time.
Don't look back, she wills herself. Don't look back, don't look back, don't—
She steals a final glance over her shoulder.
Her children have given up on chasing one another, having found interest in other things. Kai chases after a butterfly, giggling and growling like a little tiger as he frolicks through the grass. Nearby, Nya stares curiously at a puddle by her feet. She dips her toe in, squealing at the sensation of the cold water, before happily jumping in with a small splash.
It's the last thing Maya sees before Krux shoves her in the back, sending her stumbling forward with a yelp. Her eyes burn with hot tears, droplets of fire trickling down her face, as she and Ray are led away from the only family they had left.
In her daughter's eyes, she is gone.
---------------------------
"Mom?"
Maya's head spins. She feels dizzy, disoriented, like everything that's happening is a dream.
It's been at least eighteen years. She'd given up hope of seeing her children again ages ago. She'd long since resigned herself to life as a prisoner, slaving away for the Time Twins alongside her husband until her final days.
And yet, here she is now, standing in the same home she was forced to abandon all that time ago. Ray cowers beneath the glare of their son, who holds him firmly by the collar of his shirt, seconds away from delivering a finishing blow. She recoils at the look in his eyes. They burn with rage, with hate. The room is dark, but the flames of the forge illuminate his face, casting long, unnatural-looking shadows across his features. In this light, he looks older, dangerous, deadly—nothing like the sweet little boy she'd birthed and raised. Maya's heart shatters like glass and she sniffs, swiping at her moistening eyes.
Her son thinks she and his father are traitors, and that hurts far more than a wound from a weapon ever could.
But her daughter...she says nothing.
"Nya, my baby girl." Maya can no longer hold back her tears. She stares into those stark gray eyes, searching desperately for any sort of redemptive gaze, any sign of forgiveness, anything. "How you've grown..."
Despite her hope, she knows Nya will respond the same way her brother did—screaming and threatening, to make her pay for all the suffering she's caused. Maya wouldn't blame her one bit. She'd abandoned her and her brother, left them to fend for themselves all their lives, lost and confused and completely alone. She thinks of the harsh winters they must've endured with little food, how badly they must've struggled with money and to keep the shop in their possession.
Wincing, Maya draws a shaky breath and prepares for the worst.
Nya only stares at her, like she's part of a dream she's just walked out of. Then, after a few moments, she flips her hood up. Maya chokes back a sob at the sight of her not-so-little girl. She's absolutely lovely, her face soft and heart-shaped with short hair that frames it perfectly. She never got to see her grow up, to bloom from a little bud to into the beautiful water lily she is now. How she wishes she could go back...
"I..." Nya's voice wavers, as if it's moments away from breaking. Her lip quivers, and in the dim light of the room, her eyes glisten with tears. "I missed you."
She lunges forward, and for the first time since she was three years old, she hugs her mother. The moment her daughter's arms find her, Maya breaks down. She sobs, tears streaking down her face like raindrops in a storm. She holds Nya oh-so-tightly, like she's her anchor, the only thing keeping her from drifting away and drowning. Nya cries too, her shoulders shaking as she embraces the woman she's never known but always missed. Maya rocks her daughter back and forth, the way she did when she was small, and suddenly it's like Nya's still that young and innocent and in need of her mother.
After all this time, they're reunited. Her baby girl's alive, and she doesn't hate her. She doesn't think she's a traitor. She doesn't want her dead. Perhaps she and Kai can help free her and Ray, and defeat the Hands of Time for good. And then, maybe after that, they'll be a family once again.
Nya pulls away from the tight embrace, but her focus remains locked on her mother. Maya sniffs as she meets her shimmering gray gaze, heart aglow and a genuine smile on her face. For the first time in years, her world seems bright again.
In her daughter's eyes, she finds reason to believe again.
---------------------------
"I'm not a little girl anymore, okay?"
Nya swipes her bangs from her eyes, huffing and gritting her teeth. Maya swallows the lump in her throat. Her daughter has grown up―she knows that―but she never realized just how much until this moment. She watches, staring helplessly at the back of Nya's head, as she stalks away, leaving her alone in the boiler room.
This mission wasn't wasn't the fun mother-daughter romp she thought it would be. She'd stowed away on the Hydro Bounty to help her girl in any way she could. Ray had insisted it was a bad idea; he'd said that Nya was fiercely independent and stubborn (traits she'd definitely gotten from him), and she needed her space, especially now that her elemental powers have gone haywire. Still, Maya hoped she could've helped. Anything she could've done to help her little girl, she would've done...
It's not until now that she realizes her daughter is right.
Nya's done it all: grown up, learned the ways of both the ninja and the Elemental Master, fallen in love, unlocked her True Potential...all without her. She never needed her mother before, and she certainly doesn't now.
Her daughter is right, and that's why everything hurts so much.
Maya regrets everything. She wishes she could've made Krux or Acronix send her back in time, or tried harder to escape, or just done anything better, so that she could've been the mother she always wanted to be. She squeezes her eyes shut, teeth snagging on her lip. She had no control over what happened to her and Ray. She knows that. All she wanted was to make up for lost time, to be a mother, like she should've been all those years. Not that it matters what she wants―her daughter's made it it abundantly clear that she doesn't want or need her. How could Maya have expected anything different? How could she have waltzed into the Monastery with a smile on her face and expected everything to be okay between her and Nya?
Maybe that's why it's too late for her now.
She buries her face in her hands, letting tears stream down her face like waterfalls.
In her daughter's eyes, she is a failure.
---------------------------
"...Wherever she is now, she is in our hearts."
Wu's words ring over and over again, a broken, haunting echo in Maya's head. She stands on the beach, the sand wet and squishy between her bare toes. Water laps against the sand, gently caressing the shore, and the air is crisp and salty as it cools her skin and whistles through her hair. Ray stands beside her with an arm draped over her shoulders. She presses closer, desperate to be near him, as if she would drift away if he wasn't there.
In the dying sunlight, the surface of the water sparkles like her daughter's eyes. Maya sniffs as her own eyes start to itch. Pain is something she's well-acquainted with by now, but never before has it stung so sorely. Every effort she's ever made for her daughter has failed. All that hard work at the start, all the years spent apart and struggles to reconcile, just to lose her again, like sand slipping through her fingers. Her mind wanders to the last time she and Nya saw each other, the last time they had ever spoken to one another and felt the others' embrace. In her daughter's eyes, she saw everything she'd ever wanted Nya to become: a positive influence, an excellent Master of Water, and most importantly, someone better than her. She wonders what Nya saw when she looked at her that day. She'll never know now, but she can only hope it was something good.
Because now, in her eyes, her daughter is no more.

Rose Red’s All Hallows Eve: Ticket Please?
Summary- 4.2k Curtis Everett x You. Your boyfriend got you tickets to a charity Haunted House, and the special features include immersed scenes from the movie of your choice. Once you hear that the one and only Curtis Everett from Snowpiercer is a part of the choices, you just have to go. Prepare for a night of apocalyptic fun!
Warnings- Blood/Gore, brutal killings, swears.
A/N- Written for @jtargaryen18 Haunted House 2020. This is a 3 chapter story that will be posted within a few days of one another. Be sure to read the warnings for each chapter. The page dividers were made by @firefly-graphics , I highly suggest checking out her work, its really excellent and a bit of everything to choose from. The manor described in this story, Rose Red, is a piece of work from Stephen King, and I highly suggest watching the tv mini series, if you can find it. Perfect for this time of year. Special thanks to @what-is-your-plan-today for being my Beta in this project. Happy Reading and Haunting! 😈🎃

“What do you mean Bryce that you can’t come? You promised you would! When is New York State ever going to open Rose Red to be explored like this again Bryce?” You spoke into your cell phone while looking in the mirror, currently doing a french braid to keep your hair out of your face. Your expression reflected back at you was a mixture of fury and disbelief. You had only been talking about this charity for 6 months, and here was your boyfriend backing out after he’d promised to come with you numerous times.
“Something came up with Maya, okay? You know my sister can’t do anything without fucking it up. Besides it's just a house”
“Bryce, don’t talk about your sister that way.” You sighed exasperatedly before your voice dropped slightly conveying your disappointment “And it's not just a house, it's just the most haunted manor and grounds in New York. They had it condemned supposedly just for that reason! You really can’t come?”
“You know that shit isn't real. Sorry Baby, but why don’t you take one of your friends? How about that Karen chick?”
You gave a sigh and roll of the eyes, Bryce never bothered to get to know any of your friends, not like you did with his friends. “You mean Stacey? Her name isn’t Karen.”
“Well, she’s like a Karen.” He retorted with a condescending tone.
“Whatever Bryce, I’m hanging up now.” you snapped out, he was being an ass especially considering this entire night had actually started out as a treat to him from you.
“Hey, Hey, I was kidding. Take Stacey. You know I wouldn’t be any fun, I never liked Snowpiercer, remember?”
“That’s not the point Bryce…” you sighed again.
“Look, go have fun with Stacey, and tomorrow morning I will pick you up, we can go for a drive down the coast, just the two of us. Maybe have a long weekend in Hampton. How does that sound? I will even take you to that hotel you like. That one right on the beach with the view we stayed at last summer. We had fun there, didn’t we Sweetness.” now his tone was a hint of teasing and promise, and although you were still mad that he ditched you again, you felt a warmth bloom in your chest that he was trying to make it right.
You bit your lip remembering, it had been a fantastic vacation, and Bryce really showed you a good time without ever having to leave the room. At your silence he gave a chuckle of triumph. “That’s what I thought, I'm gonna call them right now. Have fun tonight baby.”
“Okay, but you better be here bright and early Bryce. Love-” Before you could even say the words, he hung up, and you hit the end call button, trying to get over the feeling of disappointment before you called Stacey. You could already hear what she would say, but as your best friend, she would be there. She always was. Dialing her number, you pulled out the tickets from your purse, allowing yourself a smile.
What could you say, you were a fangirl. Snowpiercer was such an intricate dark story, you had fallen in love with it the first time you watched it on Netflix. So when Bryce mentioned his grandfather was helping sponsor a haunted house charity at the town's resident creepy manor, and it was featuring several film sets. Including none other than Snowpiercer, you just had to have all the details. It even went as far as Bryce having his grandfather putting in a good word of how much of a fan you were to get you in. You scrimped and saved, Bryce as well helped you with paying for the tickets. You had really wanted to do this with him too. No, he didn’t share your love for the story, but he was your boyfriend and Halloween was your favorite holiday. It was something you two could have shared.
Oh well, next year we will do what he wants to do, you thought to yourself waiting for Stacey to pick up her phone.
A familiar voice answered, jerking you from your thoughts. “What’s up? I thought you would have already left for the charity function?” Stacey questioned.
“Slight change of plans, something came up with Maya, and Bryce can’t make it.”
“Big surprise.” the answer made you wince, cause this wasn’t the first time you called Stacey about Bryce. “You want some company? I can be ready by the time you get here?”
“Please?” you already had your purse over your shoulder and were heading out the door as she answered.
“Don’t worry girl, I got you. See you in a few.”
Tumblr media
The line to get into the grounds was long, cars piled up as the two of you pulled to a stop. Stacey leaned forward to look out the windshield, giving a soft whistle. “Damn, they pulled out all the stops for this charity, didn’t they? Isn’t that the Rose Red Manor?”
“Yea, they were able to get it for the night from the Governor. Pretty crazy since this place has been condemned, they were supposed to demolish it back when Ellen Rimbauer’s grandson sold it to New York. You know the stories here, don’t you? Men die, Women disappear never to be seen again. The house somehow has random room built on out of nowhere. No one actually knows how many rooms Rose Red has, and the grounds are much larger then the records state.” You let your foot off the brake, easing forward.
“Shut up, that’s not true.” Stacey gave a shudder and you laughed, winking in a teasing manner. “How does a house keep getting bigger? I say bullshit.”
“It’s all just for spooks, the place is safe or else they wouldn’t let us on the grounds.”
“If I die Y/N, I’m haunting you.” Stacey jibed back, pulling up to the concession stand, and you rolled down your window.
“How many, and what set are you here to visit?” a tired voice sounded at you while you pulled the tickets out of your purse and handed them out the window.
“2, for the Snowpiercer, Curtis Everett set.”
The redhead took your tickets, her green eyes flickering to check them before she gave a slight smirk of perfectly painted ruby lips. She leaned forward, to look into the car. “Curtis Everett you say? A personal favorite of mine, the set reminds me a bit of home.” Your eyes flickered to her name tag, reading Natasha Romanoff, it sounded Russian, where it is assumed the train derailed at the end of the film. “Curtis is a bit intimidating, but don’t get scared, it's all a part of the show.” She stamped your tickets and collected bracelets, handing them back to you which you and Stacey both snapped onto your wrists. “Enjoy, and make sure you have those tickets on you. The Wilford on set will be looking to collect them. Bozhe, pomiluy tebya.” God have mercy on you.
Your brows came together in confusion at the foreign launguage and gave a nod. “Thanks?”
The woman smiled and snapped her window shut, ending the conversation. Pulling the car away to continue to park, Stacy wrinkled her nose. “What was that about?”
“You got me. I don’t even know what language that was, I’m guessing Russian?” You watch and follow the people directing you to park and are soon in your designated spot. “Whatever, you ready?” The uneasiness slipped away as you got excited, cause lets face it, Curtis Everett had been a crush for you since you saw the movie. And now you were going to see him, well the actor in the role, once again. From what you could tell this charity was an a-list kind of deal, cause after hours of scouring online, you found nothing talking about Chris Evans doing this function. Maybe Bryce was good for something, you thought as you got out of the car, and then chided yourself for being so cruel to your boyfriend. After all, if it wasn’t for him, you wouldn’t be seeing Curtis or the Snowpiercer set. While you two were walking, apparently the last ones in the queue, you pulled out your phone to send him a message.
Hey, Stacey, and I just got here. Miss you and Love you.
It wasn’t even a few minutes till your phone pinged back
Have a good time and don’t get too scared.
Smiling to yourself at the glowing screen, you stuffed your phone back in your purse and proceeded towards the front where you showed your bracelets.
“Ahh Snowpiercer, you actually go around back. Follow me.” Your host said as he led you around the side of the building, away from the last of the people disappearing inside.
“We're not going into the house?” you couldn’t help but feel disappointed at the idea, it was supposedly one of the most famous haunted houses in New York State. The well-dressed host turned, looking at you for a moment before putting on a suave smile.
“Since you are special guests, I’ll wait for you after your tour with Curtis Everett on Snowpiercer. Give you a proper tour of Rose Red. But I assure you, that you’re in for a better treat, this is a truly exclusive walk though as hardly anyone gets to explore this much of Rose Red. Did you know that Ellen Rimbauer also had a private train on the grounds? It’s not documented as extensively as the house is, but many strange occurrences have happened here as well. It’s rumored that a single match light can be seen running up and down the aisles. Workers will be glimpsed from the corner of your eye in the darkest shadows. The ones that have visited the train claim to feel extensive chills, and in the engine, ramblings and whispers of madness can be heard. Most assume it's the conductor, looking for his replacement.” Your host continued, while out of the darkness a massive ominous train loomed, vines all over it, and it almost had a skeletal appearance as windows were busted out of it, and it looked pitch black in all the openings.
“The workers used the train to bring in materials from the harbor to the construction site. And in 1903, a riot happened on the train, the crew claimed that they weren’t being compensated for the conditions, and they demanded better wages. When W. Rimbauer refused them, they put a stop to the train for good. Resulting in many deaths.” Your host led you to the front car, in which a pale man stood with a lantern and a single red rose he was twirling in his fingers, and upon seeing the trio of you, he promptly slipped the delicate flower into his robe and smoothed down his outfit. Giving a wave, he stepped down and you noticed that oddly he was wearing what looked like a luxurious robe, his bald head shining in the glow of the lamp. The more you studied him, the more you thought he looked exactly like Ed Harris in his Wilford role. You were about to ask, when he interrupted you with his own question to the host.
“Blackwood, this the Curtis couple? We were a bit worried you wouldn’t show up tonight. Which is a shame, as Curtis has been waiting for you.” He seemed to direct his answer solely at you, his pale blue eyes glinting gleefully at you, it was the only way you could describe it, but they still sent a shiver down your back. Ed Harris or not, he was a good Wilford, you thought to yourself as you tried not to let his act give you the creeps. Stacey pulled in closer to you, hooking her arm through yours and whispering.
“You sure we should go on this train? It’s pretty fucking creepy back here. And where is everyone else?”
Blackwood cleared his throat with a smile. “Now ladies, the Curtis scene was very exclusive. In fact, only you two were able to get tickets. Seeing how it’s away from the main house. But I’m going to leave you in the capable hands of Wilford here as I must return for the next group. I will be back soon to give you a house tour afterward. You ladies enjoy the fully immersed experience.”
Your host left you with Wilford, who lifted his lamp to show a path that led down the side of the train. “It’s just a way down here, Curtis will meet you inside, and take you on the tour of Snowpiercer. Now, remember, he will not be breaking character as is per his instructions. We want this to be as authentic as possible.”
You and Stacey follow along behind his seemingly smooth stride, both of you tripping up a bit although Wilford seemed to have no issues with the uneven ground. Both of you were panting a bit when he came to a stop, and held a hand up to a ladder, leading into the darkest opening you’ve ever seen.
“There are no lights inside?” You drawled out and Stacey braced her hand against the train to catch her breath.
“How the hell are we supposed to see? And climb in with heels? No one told us that this was going to be an expedition just to see a movie set.” the woman snapped out, and Wilford turned that gaze from you to Stacey, giving a cold smile.
“It will all come on once you're inside, everything is in its preordained place in Snowpiercer and we are allowing you to really see it all come to life. But before you two go on, can I have your tickets please? No one goes onto the snowpiercer without one.” His grin turned eerie in the shadows on the lantern he had brought with him, and you were quick to look away from it,
Fuck he is weird. You shudder, while searching your bag and handing over both tickets. He immediately put them in his robe and held the lantern up so you could see a bit better to get inside. Grasping the ladder, you start to climb in, Stacey following right behind, holding onto the back of your shirt. One you stumbled in, and Stacey did too, you both turned to look back out, expecting Wilford to follow you in, but the door slammed shut, and a shudder went through the train, hard enough so you both yelped, falling into each other.
“Y/N! What the fuck is this? We have to get out of here.” You could feel Stacey digging into your arms in a panic, and you stumbled back to where the door was, your hands slamming against freezing cold metal, your palms pounding on the vibrating metal.
“Why is it vibrating? WHY IS THE TRAIN MOVING?” You started to yell, and Stacey moved up next to you, also slamming her palms against the metal walls. Blinding light made you both yelp and cover your eyes, stumbling to land in a heap when you pulled your arm away from your face, blinking to get your pupils to focus. It was an empty train cart, windows that appeared to be filled with bright natural light lined the walls, and at each end, metal doors that have yet to be opened. Stacey takes the first tentative moves to stand up, pulling herself to look out a window and her eyes widened in disbelief.
“What is it?” You ask as you start to push yourself up to a stand, and she shakes her head as if to shake whatever she was seeing away, muttering over and over.
“What the fuck?”
You make your way over, and all you can see is snow. Snow and ice, speeding past like this train were actually able to run on a track. Buildings encased in snow, making way to nothing but white, everywhere. Even the windows had frost encasing around the edges, your breaths fogging the glass.
“How? What?” you question, beyond confused and rubbing at your face to look again. How the hell could this be? You go to reach in your bag for your phone, and look down to see it is gone. And not just your phone, your bag. Scanning the train, there was no sign of it. Panic settled in a little more now that you didn't have a way to call for help should you need it.
Stacey pressed her fingers to the glass, her tone a bit shrill as if she was trying to convince herself it was make believe. “Gotta be like we're watching a screen right? Just supposed to look like the trains moving.” Although the train gave another shudder, swaying back and forth.
You never got an answer, as one end the doors swung open and people wearing all black spilled into the train, all carrying axes, faces masked so you couldn’t see anything discernible about them. Except for flashing teeth among happy grins. Each one hefting their ax like it was a toy. Your confused addled brain screamed at you to pay attention. Danger. But you were in too much of a shock to really focus.
Another whoosh and you spin around to see who was coming out the other side, Stacey whimpering in fear next to you, still staring at the first group. But your eyes raked over these men, dirty and worn looking. The one in front had a wide stance, his feet braced against the rocking of the train like he was familiar with it. A black trench coat swept around him, ragged sweaters piled over a broad chest and your gaze fell onto a familiar hard face, scanning his opponent, drawing himself into a more fighting stance. Curtis Everett.
“Oh shit” it dawns on you what scene this was and you draw Stacey closer to you, and back against a wall.
“What? Oh god, I don’t understand what is happening.” Stacey said in a panicked voice, and you shook her a bit.
“I don’t know either, but stay out of everyone’s way, okay? Those axes are not fakes!” The weapons they held were clearly not props, the heavy blade handles slapped in palms, and gleamed in the winter sun streaming through the windows. A touch would easily slice into anything. And these two groups look ready to hack into each other.
“Shouldn’t they help us get out?” Stacey’s eyes rolled wildly, and you gulped, seeing the large trout get passed up, and just as you guessed, the ax easily sliced into the fish’s flesh, drizzling blood down to see  along the edge, dripping down the handle and to the floor.
“I don't think so Stace…” You whipped back to look at the opposing group, feeling Curtis’s gaze seeking yours with a glimmer of hatred and confusion behind them. For half a second, then it was back on their enemies. You could see it, the taunting lunges each group made, and just when they both broke for each other, you screamed and yanked Stacey down onto the ground as they all collided. Attempting to avoid stomping feet and falling blades, you two tried to stick to the wall, screaming and covering your heads, blood splattering everywhere above you in hot sticky sprays that rained down on your two.
Stacey wouldn’t stop screaming, her voice piercing above the noise of the fighting, bodies started to litter the floor, and you tried to make your way towards one of the exits, your hands and knees slipping in warm fluid. Over bodies you dragged yourself when Stacey’s screaming changed to one of pain and panic. Looking over your shoulder, she was getting dragged away by her ankles, her fingers trying to find a hold in the floor, nails raking through the blood to create long rakes through all the red.
“Y/N! Y/N! Help!” she continued to scream, and you twisted to go back for her when she was whipped to her back and her arms came up in defense, trying to cover her face or neck.
“No!”
Whump! This is when you lost all your control and started to scramble back for her. There was so much screaming and you never realized it was coming from you.
Whump! The ax planted in Stacey’s chest and she jerked upwards, trying to push the blade away, and the militants foot planted on her stomach, yanking her loose. You would still see her moving, still alive. You were closer.
Whump! this one landed on her skull, blonde hair turning stringy red and his boot planted on her face this time, crushing in her forehead and nose as he yanked it out, once more red spray flew through the air.
Several whacks fell on her, over and over, spraying you with each yank the axe gave off Stacey's body, the militant man grinning as her blood sprayed all over him, you, any nearby person.
You were in shock, your hands to your mouth, as you saw Stacy's body collapse into broken pieces, blood spurting out of her mouth and she went limp right in front of you. His gaze fell to you and his wide bloody grin looked like he just won the prize, his axe lifting when he was suddenly thrown back and slaughtered himself. You didn't pay attention to who took him out, only catching sight of a whipping coat snapping in the person's actions, you turned towards your best friend's body, convinced she might still be alive. This was all just for fun, pretend after all, right? Snowpiercer and the Revolution did not exist.
“Sss-Stacey?” you crawled over to her, your hands cupping her broken face and leaning over her still warm form, doing your best to hold what remained of her face together, as if you could just piece it back together like a puzzle. You kept shaking her, although she had several gaping holes in her body.
“Come on Stacey, we got to move.” you sobbed over her, unaware once more of what was going on.
You didn’t notice the fighting stop or the survivors rush to look out the windows in a panic, but you did feel a hand yank the back of your shirt to slam you into the wall and keep you pinned in place. Even as you struggled to get back to Stacey’s body, lying lifeless. You didn’t notice any of these things till a growl snarled in your ear. “Girl, stop it! What’s wrong with you?” A vicious shake thudded your head against the wall, and the crack against the back of your skull made your eyes roll back in pain. The world tipped upside down, Curtis’s scowling cut face tipped around, and you went under, the blackness welcomed from the hell you just experienced.
Tumblr media
“Hey Curtis, she’s awake.” was the first thing you heard, your head pounding and when you started to pry your lids open, figures were blurry, moving around, flashes of light blinding you till they were blocked back out by bodies. You gave a moan and lifted your hand to your face when the larger one slapped it away, and the cold slick hand grasped your throat, dragging you forward. “Focus Bitch, we don’t have all day.” Your eyes snapped obediently to Curtis, fearful and wide-eyed as you took him in.
In the movie, he was large, towering over others. Here, as he was staring you down, face contorted to semi-controlled rage, and leaning over you so you could feel his hot breath wash over his face, how the blood dried to crack along his cheek, and eyes that you swore were debating snapping your neck.
“I don’t understand what is going-”
“Shut the fuck up, you’re not asking questions here. Wilford sent you?”
“Wilford? Yes, yes.” You stutter, his fingers squeeze further and you can feel the hot tears streaming down your face, landing on his filthy hands. “He put Stacey and I in here, m-m-my friend. She was…” Your eyes rolled to where her body was twisted strangely, smeared in gore from where she slid around, or someone tripped over her. All you knew is her eyes started up at nothing now. Her wounds were gaping and bled out.
Curtis gave you a shake, his snarl brought you back to him. “She was what? What did Wilford send you two back here for?”
“We were here for a charity! I was supposed to meet Chris Evans, You as Curtis Everett.” your voice started to rise in a panic, your hands grasping his wrist at your neck. “That’s it, why is the train moving? Why are you all using real axes, fuck I just want to get off.” You sobbed, the survivors looked at you with disgust, shaking their heads.
“Once you’re on the Snowpiercer, there is no getting off.” Curtis leaned back a bit, looking you up and down as if inspecting you curiously. “You’re such a fragile little thing. Just like a baby bird, all brittle bones and helpless.”
“No getting off? What are you even talking about?” your tears started to sting your eyes, the panic settling deep in your chest like your heart was about to explode.
Curtis ignored your question, his free hand tugging at your thin sweater and shaking his head. “Fucker didn’t even send you back here properly dressed.”
You tried to struggle and Curtis slammed you back hard enough to make you stop.
“She’s fucking whacked out of her gourd. Gotta be a kronole head someone spouting that shit.” A young man said behind Curtis, and he got in your face, tapping your cheek smartly. “Girl snap out of it, that shite fucking rotted your brain.”
“No Edgar, this is different, she's lying. Good at it, but lying.” Curtis made to stand, dragging you up with him. You stumble in his hold, falling against his body before he dragged you along, hissing in your ear.
“I don’t know what Wilford was thinking Little Bird, sending you back to me with this innocent act of yours. But don’t worry I will make you sing.”

She may be a bit naive, but she can stand up for herself. Her father would often call her a quiet storm. It was a phrase she never understood as a child, but has come to own and love as an adult. The phrase is tattooed on the outside of her left foot. She is not afraid to speak her mind, and stand up for what she believes. → Her being spoiled has led to poor impulse control. She often acts before thinking, and does what she pleases. She follows her instincts, and while luck is often on her side, it has led to trouble. → She wants to believe the best in everyone, but her past has taught her to be wary. Trust is easily lost, and near impossible to gain back. She has grown reluctant to open up to people for fear of being hurt. → Do not get her started on marine life and conservation. It is her passion and she will go on for ages about it. She’d wanted to study and work in marine science for as long as she can remember. → Her time is mostly dedicated to her job. She works full time at the local aquarium and her remaining time is spent doing contract work for conservation groups. The limited time she takes to herself is spent researching, swimming, or going out dancing.

I'm just shocked at how Liam's been engaged and has a baby, and Zayn's been engaged and had a baby, and yet they could somehow have been together all this time. I'm dissing any ships because I see way too much proof of Ziam to say it's not real, I just can't wrap my mind around how you can keep up such a ginormous façade, two babies and two engagements and other girlfriends? Do you think both pregnancies are fake? Liam's and Zayn's?
+ And if it were true that all of the relationships were fake, I just just don't understand why they would choose failed engagements over just dating, if they needed a distraction. Like, why go all that way? And why go all the way to fake babies? I'm so confused by how far fetched it seems, and yet also it seems like there's too many loose ends left unaccounted for, for it to be real.
Trust me my dude. I was in the same boat as you. It all seems so far fetched but when you look closer into it you’re literally taken aback at the realization that this shit happens in Hollywood everyday. Our boys haven’t been the first to go through this bullshit and sadly they won’t be the last. I don’t think all the relationships have been fake. Danielle and Liam for example. I’m sure the first time around they were real, but when they got back together there was something going on and it was painfully forced. My theory of them switching from girlfriends to engagements is to provide something solid and to keep their names in the tabloids.
Isn’t it ironic how Liam went from dating someone significantly older than him to someone so much younger? The fact that they keep on changing Maya’s age and birthdate even though there’s proof that she’s younger than she says she is. But why is it such a big deal? Because they need people to keep talking about it. The fact that Liam and Cheryl had already met before they got together and now it’s the same narrative with Maya having met Liam back when she was a fan at a meet and greet? The fact that Z was engaged to perrie for 5 years before calling it quits when he left the band? The fact that he dated a up and coming super model who needed the publicity and to help his bad boy image? The fact that Z was posting another blonde girl on his IG so recently before Gogo is hilarious to me because you can tell they changed their minds in who they wanted him to stunt with. All the beards are connected. It’s not that much of a fucking small world. Like Eleanor’s one and only big fashion shoot was with G??? Maya and G hanging out at dinner with mutuals. Everything is heavily calculated and so painfully inorganic yet so plain obvious.
The fact that Liam’s out here talking about Bear being a fucking prodigy child who’s been running since like 6 months old and has been able to formulate complete sentences at like age one. What the hell man? As for Z’s and Gogo’s stuff- I made a post about it the other day talking about how I could see both ways in how her pregnancy could be real but not Z’s and how it could be all fake. I really recommend it. It’s not too far down if you’re really interested.

Day 24 - Lingerie
Two months later - Tony
Two months after the charity event, Peter’s baby bump was clearly visible. The media had already figured out that Peter was pregnant because Tony loved to dress his husband in tight clothes to show off PeterÄs perfect little bump, but now, even Peter’s heavy coat couldn’t hide the swell anymore. Tony was beaming with pride.
The pregnancy went well. Peter’s morning sickness had stopped and Tony was relieved he didn’t have to watch his Omega suffer anymore. His husband started to complain about back pains and mood swings, but the Alpha did his best to make it easier for Peter.
The first time Peter had yelled at him, Tony had been frozen because his Omega had never raised his voice before, but as soon as Peter had apologized in tears, Tony reassured him it was fine. Since it was indeed Tony’s fault that this incredible Omega suffered to carry their baby, the Alpha would gladly deal with occasional accusations and tears.
Every evening, Tony gave Peter a massage to ease the sore muscles in his back. Peter got tenser and tenser the bigger his belly grew and Tony tried to make it easier for him. On top of that, it usually ended with sex because Peter was incredibly horny.
Usually, the Omega already started moaning when Tony pressed into the sore spots in his shoulders and it was only thanks to Tony’s force of will that the Alpha didn’t fuck Peter immediately. Peter’s slick smelled even sweeter since he became pregnant and sometimes, Tony struggled to stop himself from tasting and taking his Omega.
After one of their massage sessions had turned into mind-blowing sex again, Peter and Tony were cuddled together in their bed, enjoying the afterglow.
“Do you want to know the gender?” Peter asked him, his hands tracing invisible patterns on Tony’s forearms that were wrapped around the Omega’s chest. “The doctor has known it since week sixteen, but I wanted to talk to you first.”
Tony was silent for a while and thought about Peter’s question. Gender didn’t matter, but he wanted to know as much about his child as possible. Maybe it would be easier to find a name if they already knew whether they were expecting a little boy or a little girl.
“Do you want to know it? I think I do.”
Peter turned his head and smiled at Tony, looking so beautiful that the Alpha’s heart arched. “Me too.”
 “When is your next appointment?”
The Omega didn’t leave Tony’s embrace while he fumbled for his phone that sat on the bedside table. He scrolled through it and opened his calendar.
 “In about a month.”
“Let’s ask her then, sweet thing.” Peter’s smile got only brighter.
Three months later - Peter
“Are you sure you want to know, Alpha? I can tell her again that we want to wait until I give birth.”
They were sitting in the doctor’s office, waiting for the alpha woman to come in. Peter was nervous. The pregnancy had been good to him so far, but he was seven months along now and his belly became harder to handle. Additionally to his back pain, his emotions were a mess. He was sick of being anxious, moody, and almost unbearable horny all day.
“If you’re having second thoughts, we can wait, baby.”
Did he want to wait? Peter took a deep breath before he answered. On some days, it took him a while to untangle the intense emotions from what he really wanted.
“No, I’m sure. I want to know.”
When the doctor came in, she nodded at them and asked Peter to lay down on the exam table. The cold gel on Peter’s stomach was familiar by now and he relaxed. Tony’s hand was holding his like it always did during the appointments.
“Everything looks good, Mr. Stark. The baby is healthy.” As always, Tony and Peter exhaled in relief. “During your next visit, we have to check if the pup is getting into breech position.”
Tony looked so happy that Peter’s heart was melting. Asking for the gender was the right decision, even though they were unusually late.
“Tony- I mean, my husband and I have agreed to ask for the gender.” Peter didn’t know why he was nervous.
The doctor looked at her joint hands before she gave them a big smile.
“Congratulations, Mr. and Mr. Stark. You’re having a girl.”
 Tony started to cry.
  Four months later - Tony
“What do you think about Maya, Sarah, Celia?” Peter sat on the couch, scrolling through his phone and looking for baby names. Tony sat next to him, his arm wrapped around his husband.
“I don’t know.” The names were nice, but they didn’t have the spark Tony was looking for.
 “Gina, Heather, Victoria?”
Tony didn’t answer because he couldn’t give a reason why the names didn’t fit.
“Do you want to go through the alphabet? We can start with A. Annie, Ashley, Amelia?”
Closing his eyes, Tony pulled his husband closer, one hand resting on Peter’s huge belly. It was only a month until their daughter was due.
“I like those names, Peter, but I want something special for our little girl. I want a name that means something.”
The Omega turned his head slowly until he could look into Tony’s eyes. “What do you think about Maria?”
Tony’s voice failed so he answered with a kiss. He still didn’t know how he deserved this perfect Omega.
   Five months later - Peter
Being in labor hurt, but it didn’t hurt as much as it could have. Peter had talked to his doctor in advance and decided to give birth to their daughter in a hospital with the help of modern medicine. He was still exhausted and sweaty when Tony gently put their daughter into the Omega’s arms.
“Maria Stark. Daddy and I will love you. Forever.” He whispered the words into Maria’s hair.
Their daughter was healthy, crying furiously during birth, but she calmed down quickly in their parent’s arms. She was the most beautiful creature Peter had ever seen.
Tony smiled at him, a proud expression on his face. “Thank you, Peter. Thank you for this incredible gift.”
Peter smiled back. This was the happiest moment of his life.
  Seven months later - Tony
As much as Tony loved being a father, he had never been more stressed in his life. Maria was a calm child, only waking them every four hours at night, but Tony still yearned for a good night's sleep. Still, their daughter was worth it so Tony didn’t fret when Peter mumbled at 4 am that it was the Alpha’s turn to get up.
Tony picked her up from the crib and carried her over to the bedroom so Peter could feed her. The Omega was half asleep, but he smiled softly at Maria, and Tony had to hold back the tears from the sight of his husband and their daughter. Sometimes, his emotions were still getting a hold of him.
When Maria finished, Peter fell back onto the mattress, almost immediately falling asleep again. Tony carried Maria around, waiting for her to get tired as well so he could tug her back in. In contrast to Peter, sleep didn’t catch Tony right away. Instead, Tony watched his Omega next to him. Every struggle, every sleepless night was worth it. He had found his family.
Bright sunlight woke Tony a few hours later. He got up slowly, Peter had already left the bed and reached for his watch on the bedside table. 11 am. He hadn’t slept so long since Maria’s birth.
 “Peter?”
Tony heard a rumble from the stairs and a few seconds later, Peter entered the room. The Alpha was speechless. He had expected that his husband would come in, dressed in sweats with their daughter on his arms, but instead, Peter wore nothing but Tony’s favorite blue set of lingerie. And to top it off, he had a cup of coffee in his hands.
“Morning Alpha. I brought you coffee.”
The smell of freshly brewed coffee was a temptation Tony couldn’t resist. It’s been a long time since he had last enjoyed his morning coffee in bed. “Where’s Maria?”
“Oh, I haven’t told you?” Peter asked innocently while he climbed onto Tony’s lap and straddled his thighs, careful not to bump against the hot mug. “Since our anniversary is in three days, I asked Steve and Bucky to babysit today. They picked her up three hours ago.”
“So, we’re alone?” As much as Tony loved his daughter, he was thrilled to spend some alone time with his husband.
“Until tomorrow morning. I thought we could celebrate a little earlier since my doctor cleared me for sex again.”
If that wasn’t something Tony had waited weeks to hear. Before Peter could react, Tony had abandoned his cup of coffee on the bedside table and turned them around so Peter was caught under him. With a feral grin, the Alpha’s hands wandered over Peter’s body until he could pull down the sinful blue panties, leaving the matching bralette on.
“Are you ready for me again, Peter? Ready to get another pup?”
The Omega loved, but the sound was breathier, like arousal was already taking him under. “I’m not in heat, Alpha. And a second pup might be a bit early, don’t you think?”
It was never too early for another pup, but Tony would wait until his husband was ready. Instead, he focused on kissing every inch of Peter he could reach until the Omega was wriggling in pleasure.
As much as Tony wanted to savor his time with Peter, it had been too long for them to wait. Tony’s kisses turned more impatient, his hands groping Peter’s body and wandering lower.
It was a needy moan that made Tony’s resolve snap. With a growl his Alpha turned his husband around, getting the perfect view of Peter’s plump little ass. Without teasing, Tony spread his husband’s and shoved a finger inside.
Peter moaned like a whore, but Tony barely listened. He was completely focused on the feeling of being inside his husband. It had been so long, Tony had almost forgotten how good it felt.
One finger became two, two became three until Peter was squirming, begging and crying on the sheets. The Omega was beautiful, so responsive, so shameless in his pleasure. Tony had wanted to watch, he really did, but when Peter’s thigh brushed accidentally against the Alpha’s clothes cock, Tony lost it.
With a growl, Tony ripped his pants apart, not stopping until his cock was out, until he could sink into the wet heat. It was like coming home again. Tight, hot wetness engulfed him, making his body burn with arousal and Tony knew he wouldn’t be able to drag this out any longer. It was pathetic, but he wouldn’t even last a minute.
Thankfully, Peter was just as close. Like teenagers, both of them came after a few thrusts, panting against each other’s skin and savoring the closeness they had missed for so long. Tony had knotted his husband, finally tying them together again, and they took their time to come down again. Pressing kisses onto Peter’s shoulder, Tony pulled his husband close.
Even half an hour later, when the knot went down and their mess poured out of Peter onto the mattress, they didn’t move. Tony was laying there, caught in his own thoughts while he savored the closeness of his husband.
 “Peter?”
 “Huh?”
Tony swallowed, carefully choosing his words. “You know that I own you?”
Peter shifted, turning around until he could prop his head on Tony’s chest. A lewd smirk appeared on his face. “You remind me again and again when I have your cock up my ass.”
The Alpha huffed, but he couldn’t reciprocate Peter’s flirty tone. “No, I mean… I own you legally.”
Peter’s demeanor changed, flirtatious words turned into uncomfortableness. “Yes.”
“I don’t want that, Peter. I want you to stay with me because you chose to stay with me. I want Omegas to be allowed to work alone, I don’t want them to depend on Alphas. I love owning you, sometimes I even want to chain you to my bed and fuck you until you can’t move, but I want to own you because you want me to and not because I paid May a lot of money.”
Tony’s words were followed by a silence, minutes during which Peter was lost deep in his thoughts. Finally, there was a small smile on the Omega’s face.
“What do you want to do, Alpha?”
These were the words Tony wanted to hear and he buried his hands in Peter’s hair to pull him even closer.
“What do you think about Tony Stark going into politics?”

Why we care about Onision and Coolguykai’s kids (Masterlist)
There’s a lot of information floating around about the kids but I don’t know if anyone has made a post compiling it all together so I figured I would do so. Also because an “argument” used again the anti-o community is that “we’re creepy for even thinking about kids” so I figured I’d show that we’re not just thinking about them for no real reason. For some slight background information, they have an older son around age 7 and a younger daughter around age 4. This is written in bullet form under the cut with bold sections for easier/quicker reading for those who would prefer that. Feel free to add more if you know anything and I’ll keep updating this post. Eli=Kai
Update: The girl fell 12 feat out the second story window to the ground giving her a depressed skull fracture. This was because Kai was cooking and left the child alone in a room with the tv and a caprisun while they were cooking and James was in the garage. The right side of her head was caved in and requires constant monitoring. The girl was known to climb the furniture and also known for standing at windows by the couple which is why the windows are supposedly kept locked to protect her. Even then, she was left totally without supervision and fell as far as she did right onto the driveway. She may have serious brain damage. James filmed her body while Kai comforted her because he was paranoid it would be seen as his fault (the video wouldn’t absolve him of anything, he’s just an low IQ dumbass). James also made a lot of awful sexually themed tweets while he was in the hospital with his potentially dying daughter. Here and here are links to the full police report, the daughter’s name was redacted due to her age
Greg refuses to talk with children who cannot speak properly yet. Besides the obvious stupidity behind this (children learn to talk from being spoken to), giving a child the impression that they are only recognized for what they can do for their parents is an emotionally damaging thing to do. It’s also damaging to show emotional neglect which Greg is doing by not caring for his children beyond the uses he has for them
Greg and Eli will have sex in front of their kids and while sharing a bed with them. Early exposure to sex is harmful for kids and despite the obvious fact that Greg isn’t a dom, he still does have rough and harmful sex with Eli and the other girls they bring in for threesomes. We have seen the marks on Eli’s neck, we now know those kids likely have seen Greg give them to him. There was an incident where the boy was in the room on a tablet while his parents were going at it right in front of him as well as the now infamous story that the first time Sarah had a threesome with the couple (Greg and Eli suddenly started having sex without Sarah’s knowledge or consent then she joined after), the daughter was in the bed with them too. They would start and stop sex as the girl kept waking up because they were right beside her on the same bed
During a blackout once, Eli decided to vlog about it. In the video you can see one of the children under the table with a tablet shining in their eyes. Instead of comforting the kids they were told to hide under the table with a tablet while their parents vlogged about it. The parents then promptly went out to eat. It’s unsure if the kids went with them (we didn’t see them in the vlog) so either the kids were out with them while their parents spoke quite vulgar in the car, or the “loving” parents left their two very young children alone at home during a blackout with nothing but some tablets to keep them happy
Overall it does seem like the parents think that tablets are an adequate babysitter for toddlers. Even if that toddler isn’t in the same room as them. That is very obviously not safe nor a good substitute for caring for a child. Given the accident the girl had, it’s clear they think that if they leave an active toddler in a closed room, totally out of sight, with a tv that that’s safe
They chose to parent their children using the “gentle” and “attachment” parenting techniques. They do not implement these styles properly however on top of the possible negative effects of these parenting techniques. This has resulted in:
Not ending breastfeeding at an appropriate time or with the proper care required for prolonged feeding
Breastfeeding at night without brushing teeth afterwards resulting in the boy losing his teeth at age 2
The boy not being told to not be physically violent with his sister or dealing with the child’s violence but instead instructing him to punch Greg instead (the boy will push his sister off the couch for example).
Sleeping with the children despite the couple clearly wanting sex constantly as mentioned above
And all the other complications of never telling your child no, never introducing new things to them or imposing rules or restrictions, having one parent refuse to give you boundaries while another that doesn’t even care to talk to you half the time, etc. The parenting style is meant to be gentle, but this results in, as stated above, not telling the children not to hurt people either
The children supposedly only had one friend (or at least the boy did) which was Maddie’s daughter. Greg and Eli spontaneously decided to end their relationship with Maddie resulting in their son losing his only friend and playmate. Given the nature of the split from Maddie, it’s clear their son was not a factor in the decision at all (not saying you have to remain friends with someone for the sake of your kids but the decision to drop Maddie was bullshit and clearly selfish)
While baby sitting his and Maddie’s kids, Greg refused to change Maddie’s daughter’s diaper and didn’t even bother telling Maddie about the diaper being full. This resulted in Maddie coming back to find her daughter covered in feces and it had been on her daughter long enough that the resulting rash caused her daughter to bleed. Greg clearly doesn’t give a shit about babies (no pun intended) and makes me wonder how often his children’s diapers were messy and he did nothing about it
The Jackson house is FILTHY and not suitable for children. Just recently I posted one of Eli’s videos and it contained a part where Eli saw the dog walking around with food in its mouth that Eli didn’t even know where it came from and not even phased by it. Food being left out is a mold and bacterial hazard on its own, very harmful for children. But it’s also teaching kids bad habits and also if the dog could find it, kids could too and toddlers love putting things in their mouths
Greg used to have a large sex doll that had no business being in a small house with children running around with no supervision
Greg’s initial wetland work created a direct line to the lake they live on, that’s a serious drowning hazard, especially for someone who didn’t think he could watch to make sure his kids wouldn’t walk to a tree that could hurt them. He has also now planted (or at least bought) poisonous bright red berries among a bunch of edible ones. So much for worrying about the kids...
The diet of the Jackson family is atrocious. It’s already showing negative effects on the parents but that is much less dangerous than having malnutritioned children. The children are growing and developing and they require proper nutrition for this, not doing so can result in many dangerous complications on top of both mental and physical stunting of growth.
Update: Greg’s daughter has been seen recently in a video and yes, she is crazy small for her age
Greg has been reported as yelling at his child and blaming said child for “causing them to lose” a game. This was reported by Maya while the three of them were playing a video game and were teamed up together. Greg literally yelled at his toddler for not being perfect at a fucking video game not only turning the game into being about winning, but putting expectations on a child that just should not be the case. As a parent, and even as a younger sibling it can even be beneficial to let them win because otherwise it would be unfair to play any games with them, especially those requiring larger amounts of skill. You wouldn’t expect David Beckham to play soccer with his kids with the same vigor he’d play professionally would you? And if you’re playing a game as a team with your kid and you want to win, it’s up to you to play better to make up for the obvious difference in skill when a toddler is playing
Speaking of Maya, when yelling at her for refusing his advances he spontaneously laid on her without her consent and with no real warning (it was intended for her to be another one of Eli’s girlfriends and she was brought over, as far as she knew, to meet with Eli to see if they were compatible in person), Greg was actually holding his child and running in and out of the room screaming at her. The subject matter alone was inappropriate for a child to hear (Greg asking why she was not sexually attracted to him because “everyone was” for example), let alone being carried by a screaming man running around the house. It almost seemed as if Greg decided to use his child as a human shield because there was no other reason for him to pick up a child to bring to a room where he was going to scream at a young woman. The child couldn’t even leave if he wanted to because he was being held
There was audio in the background of one of Eli’s videos where you can hear Greg scream to “take some fucking responsibility for once”. This was either directed at one of his very young children, or yelled at someone else in the house or on the phone loud enough for the children to hear. Again, not a good environment for these children to grow up in
During a livestream the boy once entered the room to tell Greg that he loved him, Greg didn’t respond back in kind. I get that Greg likely wanted to get the kid out of the livestream for his so-called privacy, but that doesn’t stop him from from quickly responding to the kid while doing so. Especially in a private livestream with people who know of your kids and are waiting in line to enter into the household as a third
The children get to watch Eli flinch and otherwise act scared of Greg, they may not understand it, but their brains will remember this. It is also encouraging them to be more scared of their father than they already likely are
James gets mad if Kai turns on the heat even in January. Toddlers and children can be quite sensitive to the cold and it doesn’t matter how he feels, what matters is his children (which clearly isn’t how he feels)
Update: A recent video of the girl has shown that her hair is a sad mess. At that age the girl’s hair should be bright, shiney, and healthy looking. Unfortunately it is unkempt and dull. It would look like her hair is washed too often with bad products and not brushed as it should be on top of visual signs of deficiencies leading to unhealthy hair. I’d take a potshot and assume this child were deficient in amino acids and other healthy fats if she were brought to me (disclaimer: I cannot officially diagnose anyone over the internet). It may also be due to her horrific accident

Making my heart race for 45 minutes every week season 17x5 or like everyone else likes to call it Grey's Anatomy.
"A VERY LONG BUT IMPROTANT PART TO READ BELOW."
Now before I get started I was idly scrolling through Instagram instead of studying like I was supposed to and I was recommended a Grey's Anatomy confession site to torture myself (because most of the time I feel irrationally sad after reading when I see my faves being bashed) and I was a good few confessions in when I noticed that someone had taken a part of lasts weeks review word for word and submitted it. I never really thought I would have to but I beg please don't do that. Confession sites tend to make my heart race and when I realized it was my words that were used I was already in the comments, none of my opinions in these are final so I'd rather not have my words posted anywhere else where people can't see the complete picture. Its definitely fine to use it as inspiration but Please do not post my reviews anywhere else, or at least ask first.
*Now finally onto the review*
All in all the episode was like I expected in terms of outcomes however Grey's has got to come up with another genetic disorder besides Alzheimers, because this is yet another doctor with the gene. Not much happened besides the main event so let's hope I don't talk all over myself again.

Catherine Fox and Jackson Avery
Refuses to wear the mask like the pig headed woman she is. Her especially should take no risks because as it was pointed out in the episode she is immunocompromised. She didn't actually appear in person but I thought I would mention her part in the episode because it gave us Richard and Jackson scenes which I have grown to love and appreciate because they're always wholesome the one they had tonight on systematic racism was great and one that I hope managed to educate viewers on the situation. It's great to see Jackson have someone there who has a parent figure there to listen calmly. Catherine as great of a mother as she is in my opinion sometimes she can come across as an eccentric aunt. I'm glad Richad managed to tame the wildcat and convince her to wear a mask with his sexual promises. We've lost enough Grey Sloan staff and family from it so far.

Meredith
A hopefully temporary resident at the fake beach where nothing is real. Unfortunately there were no new visitors at the beach. Like I stated last week, I'm not entirely sure if we'll see anymore of the greats such as Mark Sloan, Lexie ect but there's still a chance next week although it seems like she might be waking up, but like I always say with Grey's expect the unexpected She may or may not be out of the deep end yet but I'm just thankful for the few glimpses we got to see George and Derek grace our screens again the nostalgia was great. However as much as I enjoyed seeing them again, I want Meredith to wake up I miss her, she may not be as fun and quirky as she used to be in the earlier seasons but without her working in the hospital it's hard to deny that something's missing from the episodes.

TEDDY / OWEN/ TOM
(Here we go again.) 😔
This triangle has been going strong for a long time almost too long, and once again they flipped the switch its always back and forth. A few episodes ago she was begging Owen for forgiveness and now she's telling Tom they have a future. I feel like she needs some time to process what she's really feeling most of the time it seems like she's confused and fair enough it all happened so fast the time between her being with Tom and Owen expressing his still lingering feelings to her but now she needs to make sure that the decision she makes now is the one she actually intends to stick with.
On another note Tom seems to be out of the woods, for now at least which is great when he asked for his son I was a little concerned for a bit I wasn't sure if he was really going to make it. He's a douche and a hard ass but he has the potential to have a great character development, so I'm glad he got another chance. And my comments about wanting Helm to be his new protege remains in that small scene they had last week something just clicked with me and there's also the fact that she wanted to treat him despite the risks.
Owen was here as a filler basically, and to reinforce the love triangle again.

Jo Wilson
Is thinking of switching specialties, if Ben can do it like changing sweaters why can't she switch? I do think it will be a good fit for her the way she has been fawning over the babies of recent it was either that or give her one of her own which in my opinion I don't think she's ready for. But even in all of the excitement I can't help but think that she's only looking at the cupcake and rainbow side for now because although it's awesome being the first one to hold the babies and everything, not every delivery goes well sometimes the babies don't make it or in other cases the mothers die I hope she's ready to face that side of the package as well.
Just mentioning as well that I love the friendship between her and Schmitt. It was an unexpected but pleasant pairing one of which I'm looking forward to seeing more of in the long run.
On the other hand if Jo switches this gives us more of a chance to see Carina as well because she was signed on a a series regular yet we don't get to see her enough except for on Station 19 and on there she's only Maya's girlfriend. I hope it changes soon and they give her more of a plot or something.

Amelia/Link
Not much relationship content other than Link finding out about her and Koracick's fling and he took her going into the hospital before the end of her maternity leave quite well. They are one of the healthier relationships in Grey's. Right now at least things always get trickier later.
I'm glad she went in though it let Koracick know that he still had people who care about him and she managed to make Teddy who everyone was treating like garbage as well feel a little better.

Maggie
No Winston today but we got a lot of Maggie content which was great. She was the moral support once again but today I was fine with it I always enjoy her moments with Bailey and at least she was able to be there for her seeing that Ben was MIA and Webber was busy taking care of her patients along with Jackson. Once again a very needed conversation between her and Bailey and I loved that she still went to comfort her despite the fact that rehashing her own mother's death had to be painful to do.

Bailey
(Thanks for ruining My Girl for me Grey's now instead of feeling happy I'll forever think of Bailey saying goodbye to her mother.)
We all know that whenever Bailey starts spouting out her feelings and asking for help and advice things are about to go down.
Before we get completely into it I'd just like to express my disappointment in the fact that Ben literally dropped everything took the aid car to save his in laws no questions asked then dropped off his mother in law at the hospital with Covid and left his wife who has anxiety without even checking in. I know he's a first responder as well and he isn't allowed into the hospital that easily either but geeze no other phone calls or messages to check in?. He better have been stuck putting out a huge fire or something equally as bad, besides being him being hurt himself at least.
Another foot note to appreciate Bailey primping before her facetiming with Ben. Go get it hun. Their relationship be cute as usual.
Then the big revel her, mother has dementia, yet another doctor with the alzheimers gene. The moment between her and Meredith was heartwarming to be honest it's a foreign thing seeing them so close and having life conversations still but it's something I hope we get to see often they've had them as semi rivals/ semi friends long enough.
It was hard to see her have to say goodbye and the fact that her father couldn't be there to tell his wife any final words and be there to hold her as she passed made it worse, his wife that he was married to and loved for so long had to die without the comfort of her husband by her side and her daughter could barely hold her hand because of the bulk of her suit, then one of the saddest parts was that she possibly didn't even know what was happening to her. But thankfully Bailey could have been there to sing to her and keep her calm, a lot of people don't even get that much of a chance during the pandemic their loved ones die alone.
The moment I saw the conversation with her dad and the way she was only half listening I knew she was going to blame herself at some point over what happened, it remains to be seen if Maggie's speech worked or if she's going to continue to blame herself. Like I stated before I love the conversation her and Maggie had. One of the reasons why I haven't stepped off the Grey's Carousel is because they touch on topics that others don't cross they aren't afraid to touch the important and controversial things.
I was too being sad over her mothers death at first but I also want to talk about her and Webber's friendship he immediately postponed everything to be there for her, he took over her workload and still made sure he was there in time to be there and support her when she watched her mother flat line.
___________________________________________
The pandemic has always been real to me but somehow seeing the names of those that passed at the end was surreal I found myself just staring at the screen for a few minutes later reflecting on everything.

Next week is the winter finale and I have no idea how it could get anymore dramatic than it already is. There's been so much already but Grey's always manages to surprise me. Then after that episode it's back to nothing until March 😭😭😭.
