having thoughts about dnp saying the reason they wanted to write tabinof in the first place was to commemorate the era and give fans something to look back on and remember when they're older & how they consistently talked about the tatinof/tabinof era like it was an ending (or at least the end of their "peak")
the idea that in 2015!! they were preparing for their audience and community and their popularity to go away eventually so they wanted to create a physical reminder that "once upon a time there were these two guys called dan and phil who met each other on the internet who created this entire world"
it's like they were assuming the world of dan and phil and this community would be another trend and that their audience would lose interest in over time, especially after they'd just hit this massive peak. except it wasn't and we didn't
thinking about how that was almost 10 years ago and we're still here

⠀⠀ 💤 GOOD LOOKING! scaramouche x gn!reader
synopsis: kunikuzushi is confused as to why his 'heart' craves something besides you, his lover. when he comes to realize he abandoned you just like his creator and friends did to him, he returns only to be greeted by nothing. ୨ sfw, angst, fluff, hurt/comfort ୧
⠀⠀📋 this is a short nd silly little filler post while i'm working on heaps of reqs atm😵‍💫 this is based off of suki waterhouse's song good looking!!
Tumblr media
kunikuzushi seeks something greater in the comforting and quiet life he has with you. after three betrayals, he's finally found someone to love and care for without having to worry about them leaving. but why is it that his heartless chest yearns for something else? is it possible you're not what he needs?
he awakes in a cold sweat when he finds out. a heart. the puppet longs for a heart of his own. being able to love and be loved wasn't enough, or so he thought. one day when you leave to get groceries, kunikuzushi asks if he can join you, to your surprise. and of course, you could never turn down your lover.
you smile and allow him to go to inazuma city with you. you tell him it's good for him, that he has a chance of meeting new people and improving his communication skills. and kunikuzushi may have met people, but definitely not the ones you would've wanted him to.
tides thrash inside, baby, i'm high octane
you find your lover's presence to be something rare nowadays, as you're spending nights alone with an empty bed and a blank mind. it's not as lively without kunikuzushi, you would think. you turn to face the window and the moon is high and proud among the pitch black sky filled with stars.
the familiar sound of the door opening alarms you and you get out of bed with a hopeful smile on your lips. "kunikuzushi!" you greet the puppet with a warm welcome as you help him take off his materials. lately, he seems to be indulging in oddly different clothes rather than the ones you sewed just for him.
his gaze is so cold and distant. you notice this while waiting for him to speak up, but he never does. scaramouche brushes past you and slides the shoji doors shut to his room. your heart twinges for a moment. you were hoping to finally talk to him after what seemed like forever, but he must be busy again. surely, he doesn't need his lover as a thorn in his side.
fever in a shock wave, my core vibrates in an opium haze
scaramouche barely remembers he even had a lover to begin with. he supposes being occupied with fatui business has taken a toll on his memory as well, besides his physical and mental state. he allowed the doctor to perform strange tests on him after studying scaramouche as a specimen. he'll admit; the "harmless" experiments performed on him were rougher than he expected, but all's fine.
if he can't take on all of this pain on his own, how can he continue his path to stealing the gnosis and becoming a God? through these experiences, scaramouche has come to hate mirrors. when he looks at himself, he finds the same vulnerable boy inside him despite changing so much within time. the split ends of his hair remind him of how he ruthlessly cut it himself after his mother abandoned him.
he merely scoffs at the thought. only weaklings dwell upon the past. scaramouche is the present and future; he believes that the past is a waste of time and it will always be that way. yet through all of this time, he didn't even realize he left someone else in the past.
yet you think we're the same
scaramouche doesn't notice your disappearance until it turns into months, maybe even more than that. well, it doesn't matter, if anything, this should help. he'll deal with the pain all by himself like he always does and it'll strengthen himself as he journeys to the birth of his becoming of a God. but why does it hurt moreso than usual?
scaramouche doesn't understand why he holds too many emotions. he doesn't want to have emotions and he never needed them in the first place. he believes it's a flaw, along with the other mistakes his creator made when making him. he doesn't understand why tears cascade down his face in an uncontrollable state as he curls up on the bed, void of anyone's warmth.
starting at that point, he began to change into the pleasant yukata you sewed for him rather than his uncomfortable fatui attire. the scent of you still lingered in the cotton as he buries his nose into the material. scaramouche solemnly pulls away and looks around as if he just awoke from a bad dream.
"where are you... (y/n)?" kunikuzushi queries.
the skyline falls as i try to make sense of it all
kunikuzushi can hardly pay any attention to his fatui duties when he finally realizes your sudden disappearance from his life. you promised to stay by his side, and that you did, but where were you now? maybe you went down to the city and he simply didn't notice. although, your trips don't usually take this long.
kunikuzushi is aware he doesn't have a heart, so why, why is there an inexplicable pain in his chest where it's supposed to be? it hurts, he cries to himself at night as he recalls all of the innocent lives he took, their blood in his hands as he kept it to himself. a poor excuse for a God in the making...
he felt so useless and lost. how much time has past? for how long were you already gone? did you leave of your own accord? did someone else take you away? questions plagued his mind as he could hardly rest with such thoughts.
i thought i'd uncovered your secrets but, turns out, there's more
as time passes, he grows a temper that would make anyone turn the other way the moment they saw him. scaramouche is filled with nothing but loathe for this wretched teyvat he roams and the heavenly celestia that watches upon him. why did they take you of all people? what made you leave?
these are the type of things that he's thinking the second he sees you after lesser lord kusanali takes the gnosis away from him. he can't tell whether it's real, and in this case, it probably isn't. but he hasn't seen you in so long, he doesn't care if it's short lived. scaramouche allows himself to sink into your embrace, unknowing of the fact that he's falling to the ground after the wires of the machine detached from him.
"it hurts, (y/n). i don't want to be here anymore," he cries into the crook of your neck as you hush him, your fingers brushing through his hair. "you're the strongest i've come to known, my kunikuzushi. continue what you began for me. i'll be waiting for you."
a kiss is planted against his forehead and he awakes from his slumber.
you adored me before, oh my good looking boy.
in a frightened state, the wanderer looks left and right, searching for your whereabouts. it doesn't take him very long to find you, for you're sound asleep next to him. he slowly gulps and his hand hovers over your face in hesitation. dear teyvat and celestia above, can something go right for once? just this once, as he's suffered for so many years and he doesn't wish for it to continue.
your eyelids flutter open and he quickly retracts his hand. you look at him and your lips form a smile. the smile he came to love and missed for the longest time. then, you part your beautiful lips to speak, and your voice is as soft and gentle as ever. "what are you doing up so late, dear? you and the traveler have a busy day tomorrow, don't you?"
you ask as you gather all of your strength to sit up, still half-asleep. he struggles to release a sentence from his mouth, even a word would do good, but he just couldn't. his lips are agape as he marvels at your presence. you sleepily giggle, "oh, love. you can't keep slacking off, you know that, right? the traveler's little fairy... thing, paimon, is constantly talking about how you seem so lost in your thoughts all of the time."
"i..." a word. he finally speaks. "can i..." all of a sudden, tears begin to stream down his face and you're taken aback. "k-kunikuzushi, are you alright?" you question him in a panicking state as you're fully awake, sitting on your knees to examine his face. he takes it upon himself to hide his face in the crook of your neck, his arms slithering around your torso as he clings to you for dear life. his hands are clutching at you as if you were to disappear at any given moment, but it never happens.
the one and only time, can he feel relieved. his muscles aren't as strained anymore as he allows his frail body to make your embrace its home. you pause, your movements at a stop as your body is tense, but you rest your hand in his hair. "can i stay here? i don't feel like helping the traveler with whatever tomorrow..." he mumbles, hoping you'd say yes, at the very least. a chuckle escapes your lips.
"of course, love. we need more time alone, don't we? but for now, let's rest together." you pull away as he does and you slot your lips into his. he eagerly indulges in the kiss and his chest, though heartless, comes to be filled with a happy warmth that can cause a grin to break out onto his features. "rest with you... i need that, more than ever."

Yuta was ignoring you. You didn't think much of it at first. You knew he was busy with work most of the time, usually making a point to tell you he'd be busy or getting back to you later. But for the past few weeks, every time you would call, there was no answer. At first, you were concerned, since it wasn't like him to not answer. But it got to the point where instead of letting it ring, he'd send you straight to voicemail. That was what pissed you off. You couldn't stand not having good communication, especially since you had children together.
Your twin girls, only two years old, were always asking about their father. Constantly asking when they would talk to him, or see him again, it broke your heart when you saw their disappointment flickering across their faces when you would tell them he was busy at work.
And speaking of your children, you were also concerned for their needs. While you did work to support the three of you, your job only paid you enough to cover basic bills, clothes for the twins, and your groceries. Yuta usually covered everything else, from the rent and insurance to the twins daycare fees; he usually left a stack of bills on your bedroom dresser when he came to visit.
He insisted you didn't need to work, but you were stubborn. You felt you needed your job in case of emergencies. In case of times like these. While you hated to admit it, your babies depended on that money. Being an inconsistent parent was not going to cut it; you couldn't afford that. You didn't know what his problem was, but you were sure as hell going to find out.
You called your mother to watch the twins, leaving them in her care for the night. You waved one final goodbye to them before going back home to change. Your baby daddy had clearly forgotten who he was dealing with. If he thought for one second you were going to let him abandon his daughters, and only be a "sometimes dad," then he was sorely mistaken.
Club Highway to Heaven was packed. It was usually brimming with customers; slow days were rare. Due to its location, it was a popular nightlife spot, with minimal competition. Spotting that the line was wrapped around the corner as usual, you immediately pulled around to the back parking lot reserved for the staff.
No one would bother you about parking in the back, and there was a parking space Yuta had reserved for you. But as you pulled forward, you saw a car in the space next to Yuta's. A gaudy pink Prius with cat ears on top sat there, in your way. In your space. "Ohhh, I see what this is about." You laughed softly, shaking your head.
You chose a random space to park in, not far from the back entrance. You got out, quickly making your way to the door, and putting in the code. You knew Yuta never changed the codes to this place, in spite of your many warnings about safety. Swinging the door open, you step carefully into the club. Immediately, you are transported to a different atmosphere.
The purple lights of the club caress your skin, enveloping you into the overall ambience. As you walk to the main floor of the club, the strong smelling mixture of alcohol, sweat, and weed make you choke out a cough.
Passing through the main floor, you see many half naked women, some walking the floor while others slide down poles. A familiar Rihanna song blares through the club speakers. Bottle girls in outfits nearly as skimpy as the dancers run around with drinks, trying to service their sections as quickly as possible. Men and women alike were cheering and throwing money like there was no tomorrow.
'Business is definitely booming.' You thought as you crossed the floor, and walked towards Yuta's office. You stopped when you reached the door, guarded by a massive, familiar bouncer. "Andre, long time no see. How's it going?" Your tone was sweet, calm. It would put anyone who didn't know you at ease. But the giant man at the door knew the look in your eye. It meant business. "Not too bad miz' Y/N. Here for the boss?”
"You know it." Andre gave you a knowing smile and stepped aside, letting you pass into the office. You walked slowly inside, not wanting your heels to give you away. Inside the office, Yuta sat behind his desk. A woman, presumably a dancer, sat in his lap. Her hand was on his chest, as she laughed at something he said before you came in.
"Well what the fuck do we have here?" Your casual words startled the pair. Yuta jumped, knocking the girl onto the floor. You'd probably laugh if you weren't pissed off. "Oh shit, Y/N! What the hell are you doing here?" Yuta asked, quickly adjusting his coat over his chest, as if he hadn't just been being felt up by one of his dancers.
"What the hell am I doing here? Oh I don't fucking know Yuta, maybe checking in on my children's dumbass father, who apparently forgot how to answer a got damn phone call! You've seriously been ghosting me to try and get your dick wet?!"
You were yelling now, and you hadn't meant to explode like that, but it was the last straw. Seeing him sit there, seemingly enjoying himself, while you had been worrying yourself at home had pushed you to the edge.
You took a deep breath, trying to compose yourself. Yuta looked at the dancer, catching her eye. "Candy, can we get some privacy please?" The woman, who'd been sitting on the floor the whole time, quickly got up, fixing her outfit before trotting out of the room. When you hear the door close, you release the breath you were holding.
"Y/N, I'm sorry. Can you please let me explain?" Sighing, you nod, earning a gentle smile from him. He grabbed your hand, guiding you to sit down in one of the mismatched chairs he liked to keep around. "Don't think you're off the hook though Nakamoto. I'm mad as fuck, and I don't want excuses, I want answers."
"Okay Y/N, calm down, you know I'll give it to you straight. I wouldn't lie to you." You raised an eyebrow. "Okay maybe not all the time but- you know what, nevermind. I apologize for not returning your calls. Work has been busy." He gave a noncommittal shrug, but he wouldn't look you in the eyes. He was hiding something.
"So busy that you can't make time for your daughters? They ask for you every day. They haven't seen or heard from you in weeks Yuta! They ask for you all the time, and I have to be the bearer of bad news and hold them when they cry because their daddy is busy with 'work.' I've been calling, and you wouldn't know if they were sick or in need of something because you haven't bothered to pick up your damn phone.”
Yuta hung his head low, fiddling with the rings on his fingers. "You're right. I'm sorry. I was wrong for going off the grid like that, and you and my babies didn't deserve it. It's just been way harder lately to manage things.”
Yuta rubbed his face, and for the first time, you took in his full appearance. His coat hung off of his arms, exposing his tense shoulders. He looked paler than usual, and there were bags under his eyes, barely concealed by make-up. He looked tired. "Talk to me. What's been going on?"
"I... had to fire my head manager. He was sneaking in coke bricks for some of the dancers. And I've been trying to find the source, since every other day, a dancer is showing up high off their ass. I've got to hire new security, since some people like to sneak in." He gave you a pointed look. "And I'm not trying to 'get my dick wet' as you so nicely put it. I was trying to investigate."
You regarded him skeptically. "Getting felt up by your employees is what you call investigating? Okay Mr. Officer." Yuta rolled his eyes at you.
"Getting that close to any of the dancers is hard enough, but you just happened to ruin my meeting with one of the biggest suspects in here. Candy is a ringleader of sorts. She was fucking that manager, and I'm pretty sure he's still got her running coke in here out of spite. But I don't have enough proof, since the other dancers are scared of her. I needed to get the information somehow, but alas, here we are."
You thought back to the woman who'd been there just a few minutes ago. She didn't seem very imposing from the floor, (and clad in a skimpy pink two piece set with cat ears), but you knew you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Your eyes widened as you realized something. "So that's the tramp who was in my parking spot! With cat ears!"
Yuta's ears turned red. "You uh, you saw that?" He stuttered, embarrassed. "Hell yeah I saw it! It would be a bitch who drives a Prius. That ugly ass car." Yuta couldn't help the snort that passed his lips at that.
"In spite of all that though, I understand why you've been busier. But you still could've sent me a text back, an email, hell, a regular letter in the mail! Anything to tell me you were alright. You made me worried, Yuta. We promised to communicate, for the sake of our girls and to maintain a good emotionally safe environment for them. They need us both, and this inconsistent parenting can't go on. I'm willing to help you with whatever it is you need for this place but don't shut me out. That only hurts us all. Okay?”
"Okay. Again, I'm sorry. I'll do better Y/N, for you and my girls. You have my word." Yuta leaned across his desk, offering you his hand. Resting your hand on his, you held back a shiver as he kissed the back of your hand. His lips were warm and soft against your skin. The tension in your shoulders slowly melted away as he kept your hand in between his, rubbing it softly. It was a habit he'd learned, back when you were together, to help calm you down.
He committed all small habits of yours to memory, easily able to perceive your mood. Now, as he sat playing with your hand, his thoughts were whirling. He still felt guilty for the way he'd left you in the dark, and he felt extra guilty that you saw him with another woman on his lap.
Even though the two of you weren't together, he couldn't help feeling like he'd betrayed you. He suppressed the feelings that the ache of not being with you brought to the surface, opting to press on for the sake of his business. But the truth was that he wasn't over you. He hadn't been on the dating scene since the end of your relationship.
His dates with Candy were never anything physical. Tonight was as far as it had gotten. Internally, he felt repulsed at her constant advances; he was only trying to get information. But you weren't anymore aware of his lingering feelings than you were of his whereabouts the past few weeks. He wanted to make it up to you, and being the man he was, Yuta had an idea.
Bringing your hand up to his lips, he pressed another kiss against your skin, and another. "Boy, what are you doing?" You pulled back, but he gripped your hand. "I'm apologizing. Won't you let me show you how sorry I am, mistress?" A sudden, strong pulse thrummed between your legs. Your eyes widened, and so did Yuta's grin. Your cheeks warmed.
"Don't- Yuta, don't play with me like that-" You are cut off when he takes one of your fingers into his mouth, closing his eyes as swirled his tongue around it. He moaned, before sucking it deeper into his mouth. Your mouth hung open at his audacity. You'd forgotten how bold he could be; but your body remembered.
Your legs shifted on impulse, muscle memory betraying you. Yuta released your finger slowly, his tongue trailing the underside of it before letting it go. "Who said I was playing?" His voice was low, dripping in lust and desire. You felt another pulse, stronger this time, and the familiar, slick feeling of your arousal gliding down your thighs.
"Yuta..." You say his name in warning, but truly as an anchor for yourself. "Please? I promise I'll be good. I'll do anything you like. Whatever you want, I'll do it." You felt the temptation of his offer course through your veins for a moment or two, before you caved. "You'll do anything, hm?”
Standing from your chair, you walked around his desk. You straddled his lap, and cupped his face in your hands. "Yes. Anything." The words are barely out before your lips are on his. His lips were fervent against yours, and his arms slid up, trapping your waist against his.
You took control, pushing his head up for a better angle. Yuta let you use his mouth, letting you do as you pleased; sucking and licking your tongue against his, biting his lips, anything you wanted. Just like he'd said.
Breaking away from his lips, you pushed his jacket down, off of his shoulders. Taking the hint, he sheds the coat completely, and you run your hands along his skin. Your nails graze his stomach, earning a low groan from the man beneath you.
Grinning, you slide off his lap, shimmying out of your underwear. Sliding carefully back into his lap, you gripped onto his shoulders. Understanding your intentions, Yuta tensed his thigh, watching as you pushed yourself back and forth. His eyes glazed over. He loved watching you use him to get off. “I see you still haven't changed; begging me to use you like a whore.”
Yuta swallowed thickly, holding back a moan. He felt himself twitch in his pants. “What's the matter baby? You like being reminded how easy you are?” You looked down at him, but his eyes were locked onto your pussy, grinding into the leather material of his pants. You move your hand from his shoulder, up to his hair. You gently pull his head up until his eyes are on yours. “Eyes up here pretty boy. I asked you a question.”
It took a minute before he remembered your question, his eyes darting in confusion. “Yes mistress, I like it.” You chuckled, tightening your hand around his hair. He moaned, leaning into your touch. “Pussy makes you go all dumb, huh?” Yuta nodded, and you released him, letting his eyes fall back to you on his thigh. Eventually, you felt that familiar heat in your clit. Your eyes roll back as your orgasm pulses through you, and Yuta holds you tighter as you rock your hips through it.
When you stop, taking a few moments to catch your breath, you find Yuta staring at you. His gaze is heavy, intense in a way that has your breath catching. It was a familiar look. Your heart squeezed in your chest, but you ignored it, opting to distract yourself. “Your turn, pretty boy. Take those pants off.”
Yuta blinked, breaking his focus on you for a second, before his features shifted into a lazy grin. He picks you up, setting you carefully on his desk, before obeying your words. He unbuckles his belt with one hand, winking at you as he does, before sliding his pants off. “Show off,” You mutter as he picks you up again, placing you over the bulge in his lap.
You scoot back, giving yourself enough room to palm him through his boxers. “Aw, what's the matter, too scared to ride me?” Yuta bats his eyelashes at you, fake concern dripping from his words. You pull his dick out, not taking the bait. “The last time I rode your dick, you got me pregnant, and we don't need anymore surprises.”
Before he can come up with some snarky comment, you start stroking him, your hand squeezing up and down his length with just enough pressure to shut him up. Yuta threw his head back, moaning loud and unashamed. “Please, fuck, just like that.” He panted, feeling himself embarrassingly close to his high. He tried to hold back, wanting to savor the feeling of your hands on him.
But between the pent up frustration of the past few weeks, and his ever present desire for you, the sight of you focusing on his pleasure is too much; before he can warn you, his orgasm slams into him, crashing like waves. Your eyes widen a bit, but your hand doesn't stop, until you see his hips twitch, legs shaking from the intensity of his release. You move your hands, rummaging through his desk drawer for a towel.
His cum covers his legs, stomach, and your hands. You're sure some got on your dress as well, but it doesn't bother you as much as it probably should. You wipe your hands off before starting to clean him. “Easy there, pretty boy. Breathe.” You coach him gently, running a hand through his hair as his heavy panting slows to quiet, even breaths. When you're sure he's calm, you kiss his forehead, then his lips.
“I mean what I said Yuta. You'd better keep your promise or else I'll burn this bitch to the ground.” You poke his chest, and lean into his face. Yuta smiles at you, and for a moment, you're distracted by his beauty. “Okay, I'll be there tomorrow. I promise. I won't let you down, not again.” He slides his hand into yours, lacing your fingers together. He brings your hand up to his mouth, kissing the back of it.
Your heart flutters at the gesture. Your moment is interrupted however, by your phone’s notifications going off. “I should get out of here, I need to go to work in the morning.” You slide off of his lap, standing to adjust your clothes. You see your underwear on the floor, and you bend to pick them up. Before you can reach them, you are startled by a stinging slap to your ass.
You jump up, turning to glare at Yuta, laughing his ass off. “Sorry, I couldn't resist; it was in my face!” Your eye twitches, and the laughter in his throat dies. You decide to let him get away with it for now, opting to walk out of his office. “Wait! Let me walk you out at least!” You raise your hand to acknowledge his request, before stepping into the hallway to let him get dressed.
You are expecting to find Andre still outside, but instead of the massive guard, you come face to face with two dancers. One of them was the girl from earlier, Candy. “So this is the bitch Candy? He threw you out for her?” The other one’s nasally voice immediately makes you annoyed. “Yeah that's her.” Candy steps forward, getting in your face. “Look here, bitch, I don't-”
She is cut off when your hand collides with her face, knocking her backwards in her heels. She falls to the floor in a pathetic heap, before gathering her bearings. Shock paints her face. “Did you just slap me?” You tilt your head, looking down at her. “Nooo, I gave you a hug. What do you think?”
The other dancer stomps over to you, but before she can swing, you land another slap, knocking her to the ground with her friend. Just then, Yuta emerged from the office. “Y/N what's- going on…” His words die as he sees two of his dancers on the floor. From the expression on your face, he already knew what happened. “Yuta! She slapped us and we weren't-” He holds up his hand, silencing the lie about to spill from his dancer's mouth.
“Candy, Cherry, this is my children's mother. You will treat her with respect, and if I catch you doing otherwise, we will have problems. Is that understood?” Both dancers looked down at the floor, mumbling a weak “Yes Mr. Nakamoto.”
Yuta jerked his head, signaling for them to get lost. When they were gone, you turned to him, one eyebrow raised. “Sorry about them, like I said, it's been getting out of hand. Here,” Yuta took your hand, placing a large stack of bills in it, “let's get you home, so I can shut this place down.” He walks you down the steps, before a few members of his security team follow you through the club to your car.
Making sure you get in your car safely, Yuta shuts your door. You roll your window down to speak. Yuta beats you to the punch though. “Do I ever tell you how hot you are when you're mad?” You roll your eyes at him, and he laughs, taking your hand. “Tomorrow Yuta, remember.” You look at him expectantly. “Tomorrow. I promise.” He squeezes your hand, and all you can do is hope that he keeps it.

idk why, but I'm very embarrassed to publish this
Yandere!Fyodor x Reader
English is not my mother tongue, sorry for the mistakes.
tw: kidnapping, yandere, mention of: broken bones, abuse, isolation, bad mental health, punishment and escape attempt (nothing explicit really), stockholm syndrome, fyodor is a general tw
Your life with Fyodor had been good, as good as a life with a kidnapper could be, but you would never admit that out loud, it would be too hard a blow to your dignity.
At first everything was hell, Fyodor was the definition of cruel, it took you months to be able to get out of the 4 walls where he locked you up, in complete darkness. It screwed up your eyesight, your sleep and your overall health, physical and mental. He at least fixed those problems, paid for your eye surgery, gave you vitamin D supplements, helped you by fixing your sleep schedule, etc.
It wasn't so bad, except that not all the issues could be fixed, your mental health was horrible, it still is, you doubted he could fix that.
Before you had all that help Fyodor gave you, you had to change your behavior, you were always a fighter and with Fyodor it would be no exception. The turning point of your behavior was the night you tried to escape. He caught you, as punishment he broke both your legs and your fingers, he also left you in complete isolation, you don't know for how long. Since that punishment, you never disobeyed Fyodor again, not intentionally at least.
As time went by, and when he saw that your meek behavior was not a lie, he began to give you more liberties. One of the most important for you was the freedom to go outside, obviously accompanied by Fyodor.
Also, with that freedom to go out, you realized that Fyodor liked to treat you like a doll. Every time he allowed you to go out he was the one who dressed you, you had no voice or vote in that.
On those outings, you realized that the place you were in was Russia, you didn't know specifically which part. Before arriving in Russia, you had never seen snow in person, so it was beautiful the first time.
Today was one of those days that Fyodor allowed you to go out.
He dressed you in warm clothes and took you to a coffee shop. It was nicer than you thought it would be, not only because you went outside, but because your talks with Fyodor were pleasant.
By the time you left the coffee shop, it was getting dark, but you convinced Fyodor to go to a local bookstore and buy some books. It wasn't for you to read it (you didn't understand Russian and Fyodor had never tried to teach you so you couldn't communicate with others), it was for Fyodor to read it to you, it was an activity that, surprisingly, you enjoyed very much. You left the bookstore with a book of poems whose cover caught your attention.
Walking on your way home you heard high-pitched meowing coming from an alley, you stopped your steps and, consequently, to Fyodor, who was holding your hand.
"What is it, милый?"
"I heard meowing." Your gaze did not move from the alley.
You let go of Fyodor's hand and headed down the alley, Fyodor followed you closely until you reached a cardboard box lying on the ground.
You bent down and opened the box to find an orange furred cat, it was about the size of your hand and very thin. You wondered what kind of horrible person had abandoned such a cat.
You petted it and the cat reacted affectionately, rubbing its head against your hand. You laughed at the action and turned your head to see Fyodor standing behind you, still standing. "Please, Fedya, let's keep him."
Fyodor wasn't a big fan of cats, or animals in general, it wasn't that he hated them, but he preferred not to have pets. But there you were, begging him for an abandoned cat, and, well, you were being on excellent behavior, so he needed to give you a reward, right?
"Okay, but you'll be the one to take care of it." You nodded quickly as you grabbed the cat, pulled him against your chest, and covered him up as best you could with your coat.
The two of you walked out of the alley, you were petting the cat's little head as you smiled. Fyodor just looked at you, appreciating how cute you looked when you were happy. He thought that, perhaps, he could do more things to see that smile of yours more often.

Binary Star
Part II
Tumblr media
Pairing: academic rival!Satoru Gojo x reader
Warnings: yandere, obsession, power play, hurt/comfort, no curse au, this series will get darker as the story progresses.
Words: 1.2k
Summary: It has to pay off, he thinks as he waits for the headmaster to finally announce the valedictorian, knowing she is there too, shifting from one foot to the other impatiently. What face is she going to make when his name will be called? Is she going to cry? To yell at him and publicly demand a re-evaluation? Or will she, perhaps, finally admit he’s done a fantastic job and won fair and square?
Part I
P.S. Academic rival -> CEO!Gojo
_____________
When he spots her name in the stack of papers his HR left on her desk, Satoru gets a brain freeze for a second. Couldn't be the girl he had once studied together with, no. It's been what, more than ten years since he had last seen her? It must be some other woman wearing the same name.
But he can't just leave the paper be, immediately taking it in his hands while the manager makes a confused face: Satoru only looks at the candidates' profiles when they are aiming for the high management positions in his company, nothing less. This woman, however, applied for the middle-level position, only recently becoming a senior at her old job. Why is the CEO looking at her CV so intently?
All Gojo sees is the name of the school they both graduated what feels like a hundred years ago, and he knows it's her. It's the girl who was his one and only rival, someone he had finally considered his equal when they both were fighting for the position of a valedictorian. It's her. He can finally understand what has happened.
Not that he wasn't searching for answers right after graduation. Knowing Shoko sometimes hung out with her, he was showering the girl with questions until she groaned something about the family of his classmate moving and that it's likely he would never see her again. She didn't tell why. Said she had no idea.
It's true, Satoru sees now: his old rival did move god knows where, nearly half across the country to a place he didn't even know existed. Some tiny city, he thinks as he googles the college she attended only to realize that it is, in fact, a community college. Community college? For someone as talented as her? Was she out of her goddamn mind? Even if she, for some unfathomable reason, didn't want to go to Harvard like him, despite her scholarchip, she could have chosen any other decent place with her marks. How could she do this to herself?
He continues reading the resume, the memories of her annoyingly pretty face fresh in his mind as if it all happened just yesterday. Internships at some tiny companies, assistant positions, and other entry-level jobs she should have never taken in places he has never heard of either... Until she finally moved here about two years ago and started slowly climbing the career ladder. Unfortunately, her CV leaves Gojo with more questions than answers he expected.
"I want you to interview her," he finally says to his HR manager, who's been shifting in her seat impatiently ever since he had taken the printed papers from her desk. "And if she says yes, I want to know when she'll come."
He isn't sure why he's doing it. It's been far too long to be holding any grudges, and, honestly speaking, he isn't angry at his old school rival. Curious, perhaps? This must be it. He just wants a closure of sorts. He wants to know why she has abandoned everything she believed in, even if it's selfish of him to be prying into her past. Clearly, something had happened. Something horrible.
Did she get pregnant, maybe? Gave birth? Remembering her father, he wouldn't be surprised if it was the reason they had to move. And yet, she didn't seem the type to do something like that... Not when he had never seen her speaking to boys outside of school, and even then, she would only be talking to them about lessons and future college or university prospects.
He has to have some patience, Satoru thinks. Surely, she'll accept the interview and come in person.
And she does, walking in the building - Gojo watches her from above, peering down from his fancy cabinet with enormous windows - just two days later. She looks somewhat different - not that he didn’t expect her to change after all these years - but there's the same air about her, he can feel it in his bones. It makes him strangely nostalgic, and he starts to itch to go down and talk to her the second she waltzes into the office of his HR. He needs to know why she left. Her secrets are making him restless like a child.
He needs to see her face when she realizes he's both the owner and the CEO of the company she wants to work for.
After giving her about 10 minutes, Gojo runs down the building as if he's a boy chasing an ice cream truck. He needs to see her. The itch that has been dormant for almost ten years is almost unbearable now, and he has no time to waste before she disappears again from his life.
"Yuki, I have a question..." he starts as if he has no idea she's conducting an interview at this very moment, making a surprised face and almost shouting the name of the woman he once called his equal. "Woah, I can't believe it! Is it really you?!"
Satoru knows it's not right to be that happy about her baffled - if not fearful - expression, but he can't help himself. Here she is, the girl who could never shut up in class whenever a teacher asked them a question, sitting in the office he built with the money he earned, not borrowed from his father. He is where she has always wanted to be, Gojo is sure. Geto would probably smack him for being a smug bastard in front of a woman who surely has nothing against him, but Satoru feels ecstatic.
Until he sees she is not only scared: she is terrified. Why? Is it because her old rival ended up doing much better than her? She must be feeling upset and jealous, but she shouldn't be horrified. There's nothing to be scared of. Is she worried she won't get this job because she thinks Satoru is a manchild who can't forgive her for their silly school competition?
Or is she scared of him?
He doesn't like the thought.
"I'm so happy to see you!" He adds with a too-wide smile. "What are you doing here?"
It's concerning how she bites down on her lower lip, nearly ripping the thin skin covered in lipstick.
Thankfully, Yuki finally acknowledges his presence with an awkward smile, "Mr. Gojo, good morning. I apologize, but we are in the middle of a job interview. If it's alright with you, I'll come see you a little later."
The woman in front of him still doesn't utter a single word, and he feels like she'll escape him again if he lets her. With a dramatic sigh and a smile so wide it's a wonder how his face hasn't cracked yet, he announces to her, "Oh dear, I'm so sorry for interrupting! But you'll wait for me after your interview, alright? We can go grab a coffee together! It's not like it's against our company policy, right, Yuki?"
If eyes could kill, he would definitely be dead by now because his HR is ready to stab him with a fork she once stole from a cafeteria and is now keeping in one of her drawers. Satoru isn't that suicidal yet, so he quietly leaves her office before his old rival can utter a single word.
Now, this is about to get interesting.

alright, i'll do it.
I'll go off the deep end over the argument scene
Tumblr media
First and foremost: they're kinda both in the wrong, obviously. But also kinda both in the right?
Macaque, is in the right for being upset that Wukong didn't listen to him, that Wukong drove himself to this point, etc etc. He, even, is not the one to start this argument, and instead approached peacefully, and attempted to leave when he was getting irritated. It was Wukong that pushed him over the edge into blowing up at him.
He even leaves afterwards, which, actually, is technically the right course of action. In a healthy relationship (platonic or romantic) it'd be best to give both parties time to cool off, and then return and discuss the issues calmly to find a solution.
The main problem is; they don't do this. Macaque doesn't come back, and Wukong doesn't cool off.
On the other hand, Wukong is in the right for being mad, mad that Macaque isn't working to free him (cause, from his position, it sure seems like he isn't), and is instead 'wasting time'. Mad that Macaque would dare to say he was dragged into a mess when he isn't the one trapped under a mountain. (On some level, mad at himself, likely, for letting all this happen).
He, of course, doesn't have the choice to leave, so instead he's left.
The core issue here, as is usual with most relationships shown in media; is their lack of communication. Wukong didn't truly listen to Macaque, and Macaque was too upset to understand Wukong's side of the issue.
...And they let this fester.
Of course, this isn't the end of the falling apart between them. No, there's more to this, the show makes this adamantly clear with MK trying to get Macaque to tell him "what happened between them".
Things continued after this, this was just the barest tipping point.
So. Macaque (probably) didn't come back.
We don't know why. We don't know if it was his choice, based on hearing Wukong yell that he "never wants to see your face again", or if it wasn't his choice, if something else happened.
So Wukong is left alone.
It is shown, in Journey to the West, that Wukong is prone to anger.
Quite usually, this is his response to most situations that upset him (followed later by crying), anger and destruction is usually his first response.
Whether viewed under an "autistic Wukong" lense or a "traumatized Wukong" lense, this makes perfect sense.
It's even shown in the show, if you look at the early pieces of flashback art that show bits of the Journey, you can see that Wukong looks pissed in most of them, and that he slowly starts to look happier as the images go on, as, in the story, he worked on this issue, and got better, less angry, less prone to immediately resort to violence.
(Notably, as far as I remember, the tipping point for when he slowly starts becoming less violent literally is the Macaque Chapter. Interesting, huh?)
Wukong, likely, logically knows that there was nothing Macaque could do to free him. Emotionally, though?
He's going to be upset the next time he sees him. And when he's upset, he's prone to anger.
Macaque, on the other hand, is going to see Wukong, with the Journey to the West group, slowly becoming a better person, old parts of him returning, creating someone new. Wukong... changed for these people, he listens to them.
But not for him. Wukong didn't change for him, and he never listened to him.
So. They meet again. We're not sure how. We don't know if that whole thing of Macaque pretending to be Wukong and attacking the JTTW gang is still actually a thing in Monkie Kid. It's possible he might do it out of jealousy, but we're not sure if it happens.
Maybe Macaque came to Wukong for help. Maybe Wukong, still mad about being left behind, refused. (I consider this possible based on the the way the special shows Macaque when MK says that "Monkey King would try to save us if one of us was trapped" + his reaction to MK saying he'd never abandon his friend in s3ep10. It's possible he's regretting not trying harder to free Wukong, but...)
We don't know.
What we do know is, they fought, and Wukong, in the end, successfully killed Macaque.
A Key thing this show hasn't brought up though is... how.
Shadow Play, vaguely, implies that it might've been via his Kaiju Form.
Notably, we are now at the point where Wukong, who, once again notably, has the most memorable Kaiju Form within the story of Journey To The West, is the only one of the three monkeys in this show who hasn't used their Kaiju Form.
We've been told, quite a few times, actually, that Wukong is holding back.
He held back against Nezha. He held back in episode 9, in the fight against Macaque. Even when he was possessed he wasn't using his full power- we're outright told that Wukong was fighting her control the whole time- he couldn't do that while also going at full power.
We've never seen Wukong go all out in the show.
...Why?
Why would the most powerful character, of all time, not use that power to defeat world-ending threats? Why would he choose to not pull out all the stops?
...
("You can't just ignore your power because you're afraid of it.")
Why else, would he not be using his full power, if it wasn't what killed his best friend?

It was you and your dad, after your mom had left you both, it was just the two of you. That changed when you both went to Pandora, it was suppose to be your uncle Tommy, but he was killed in an armed robbery. Your dad had fallen for a na'vi and had basically betrayed the whole human race and so on, after the war he decided to stay, and so did you, thinking that he was going to remain to his promise about never leaving you, regardless of what happens.
Then your half brother Neteyam was born, you've never seen your father so proud about having a son. It made you wonder if that's was his same expression when he had you in his arms. He was happy and you were happy seen him happy. That was when things began to change, as much as you wanted to spend time with baby Neteyam, your so called step mother seemed like she didn't want you to be near her son. It confused you since your dad had allowed you to be with him occasionally, but not Neytiri, she'd often tell you to stay away from him or to not go near him. It must have been the new mother instinct or something.
Next they adopted Kiri, a baby born from Grace's avatar, no one knows where she came from, she was some kind of miracle baby, that was when things began to change. You notice the look on your father's face, how his eyes would lit up when he'd see his baby girl, you remember when he used to look at you with those same eyes, not anymore. It was as if Kiri had become his new Baby Girl, he stopped calling you that a few weeks after Kiri and Neteyam's first communication with Eywa ceremony, he'd only refer to you by Kid or by your name, something you're not used to. But as time passed you got used to it.
Lastly came Lo'ak and Tuk, they had a total of four kids, well, Jake had a total of five, but he had basically stopped interacting with you, specially since you were already grown. It was as if he as waiting for you to turn to a full grown adult so that he could ignore you with the excuse that you were already grown and didn't need him. Despite being a grown up, you still needed your dad. While your younger siblings got both his and their mother's attention, you were basically ignored. You understood, they're much younger than you, but you already wanted the slight bit of attention too.
You weren't really alone, their was Spider, a kid who was stuck here as well. You both lacked the kind of attention you wished. He had lost both his parents, even though your dad was still alive, he was busy with leader duties and his family. You were both like outcasts, Spider had considered you her sister the moment you both met, and you considered him your brother. Despite everything, Spider really liked interacting with the Sully kids, even though your step mother did not like him, he didn't care.
Meanwhile, you barely spent any time with your siblings. They didn't even know you were their older sister until later on, they thought you were a friend of their dad, but when they found out the truth, they were confused on why you were never really around them. As much as you wanted to be around them, you never couldn't, you were always pushed a side by Neytiri and your dad. They always had the excuse that they were busy with the kids, but you'd watch them have fun at the lake without you, when you had brought it up with your dad, about wanting to spend time with your family, he'd often 'forget' about you, yeah right.
Lo'ak and Kiri loved the idea of having a human sister, specially since you both shared the same features about having the same amount of fingers and toes. They'd spent most of their time with you and Spider, then Tuk began to tag along with Spider. You were all basically a small group, always together, except for Neteyam. He was busy training on being the next leader of the Omaticaya and stuff, you didn't really know him much due to him being busy and always pressured by your father and his all of a sudden high expectations. He didn't have high expectations with you, so what was the change in plan?
Even though you'd spend time with your siblings, by the end of the day, they'd always go back to their home, with their family while you'd go back to the lab, on your own. Sometimes you wished that you were born a na'vi or have an avatar body so that you could at least be seen by your dad, by this time your dad had become a stranger, he no longer spoke to you, only when necessary, he'd just give you a 'Hey Kid' or not even look at you at all, as if he no longer thought you there. You had given up trying to have that relationship with your father like you did many years back, whenever you tried talking with him it was as if you were talking to a wall or talking by yourself, so why bother trying to interact with him. You were basically a spare child of Jake's.

You waited for him every day.
He said "I'll be right back." You remembered it, clear as day. Played the moment he stepped into the TARDIS over and over in your mind.
And you waited.
There was only one place on the space station that the TARDIS could manifest into, really, and it was, as far as you were concerned, out of bounds. But there was a little communal area nearby; it was the first place you and the Doctor had wandered into from that little closet, which meant that, should the TARDIS appear, you'd hear it -- and you'd see the Doctor only moments later.
So you spent as much time there as you could.
Being on the space station for so long, you had no choice but to take up duties or else be sent off somewhere else, so you couldn't spend your every waking moment there. But your every break, your every moment not spent working, was spent in that little room.
You even spent some nights there, falling asleep to the metallic hum of the station under your feet.
No one bothered you.
The Doctor had saved them from certain death. They understood the gravity of him, the love and dedication one developed for a person like that. And you'd been with him for some time. They'd only spent the one day with him. They couldn't imagine how you felt. How much you hurt as you waited, day after day, your loyalty and certainty never once wavering. Even in the face of ever decreasing odds.
And yet.
You jolted awake one night (well, "night" was relative) to the unmistakable sound of the TARDIS.
He'd finally come back for you.
You'd fallen asleep in that little break room again, something you did with increasing frequency, but you didn't mind. A few restless nights were worth it when you knew you'd be back in the TARDIS eventually.
You were standing, waiting, when he stepped through the door. When he looked around, trying to get his bearings and finding you instead.
Your name had barely left his lips when you launched yourself at him, pulling him into a hug so tight that his breathing was momentarily cut off. There was no hesitation, his arms were instantly around you, holding you nearly as tight.
"I'm so sorry," he murmured into your ear, over and over again, and you could tell that he meant it down to the deepest pits of his two hearts. That leaving you behind weighed heavy on him. Haunted him.
"Why?" you asked simply, voice impossibly soft.
He pulled out of the hug, though his hands stayed firmly on your shoulders, like you might vanish the moment he broke contact with you.
"Someone put a time lock on the moment I left. I don't know how and I don't know why... but I've spent the last few hours trying different moments to get back. This was the first one that worked."
A few hours.
He'd only been gone a few hours.
In his time.
"Doctor, I've been here a year."
The way your voice broke on that last word broke him. You could see it in his eyes.
"I know," he said, voice full of endless sorrow. "I know. I'm so sorry. I tried so hard to get back to you sooner."
"I know." And you did. You knew the Doctor would never abandon you, never intentionally leave you.
"They've treated you well?" he asked suddenly, as his eyes took you in, looked you over. Examined you.
"The best," you answered with a tearful, relieved laugh. "They put me to work after you didn't show up for a week, but they've made sure I'm fed and clothed and everything. They even assigned me a new birthday and threw me a party."
He laughed at that, though the smile on his face seemed... sad.
"What's wrong?" you asked, tensing up.
"It's just..."
"What is it, Doctor?"
"You seem happy." And his words were so final, like there was no other conclusion, and nowhere left to go from that statement. "You took really well to the future," he commented after barely a moment, leaving you no room to think, to interject. "You've made friends. A life..."
Oh.
You saw the problem even before he said it.
"You'll want to stay, then?" The inflection made it sound like a question, but you knew it was an assumption.
"Don't you fucking dare leave me here again, Doctor."
"Sorry, what?" His face was stunned, and you were reminded for the first time in over a year that sometimes he could be a complete dumbass. "But... you're happy here... content here..."
"Please," you begged, voice thick with emotion. "Please, let me come home."
"And where's home?" he asked, and you knew that he thought you meant Earth, your time. Perhaps even specifically the house you'd lived in, with your family.
"You're home," you said instead.
It took a moment for him to realize what you'd said, and you watched as first the realization hit, and then as his face morphed from something so full of sorrow to so full of joy and hope.
"You were always my home. Always will be," you assured him, and he pulled you into another tight embrace.
When the crew awoke the next "morning," all your belongings were gone. The only thing left that showed you'd ever been there at all was a note you left wishing them goodbye, and a note from the Doctor expressing immeasurable gratitude to them for taking care of you.

Oh my god I woke up this morning and my Stardew Valley meta post had almost 150 notes????? Hello?????????? Anyways I started writing this last night because @moon-is-pretty-tonight left nice tags on the original so thank you so much!!
We know from the starting scenes of the game that the farmer's grandfather loved Stardew Valley. So why did he leave? Pelican Town is a good place to grow old; George and Evelyn are just fine. It's a fine place to raise a kid, but maybe he just wanted to raise his child closer to real schools and other children.
Or maybe, just maybe, he understood.
Was there a day when he was in his thirties where he looked at his friends and realized they weren't like him? That he could run faster than them, work longer, explore deeper into the hidden places of the valley?
Was there a day when he went to the wizard to ask him for help, for knowledge if nothing else? Did he learn then that his family was different? Special? Chosen? And how did he react? He couldn't possibly raise a child in the valley if they would be as strange and fey as him. He had to leave. There was no other way.
But years later, on his deathbed, did he regret that choice?
Is that why he gave the farmer the letter?
Is that why they went back home?
When the farmer steps off the bus that first day, the valley is still on the cusp of winter, just barely tipping over into spring. The flowers are starting to bloom, but a chill still hangs in the air. As soon as the farmer's boots touch the soil there's a change. The air gets warmer. The trees get greener. Not by too much, not all at once, but it changes.
The junimos watch the farmer as they do their work. They're new to farming, but take to it with frightening speed; their first batch of crops is perfect. None of the townsfolk tell them that parsnips don't normally grow in less than a week, that cauliflowers don't grow to be ten feet tall, that fairies don't visit when the sun goes down and grow potatoes and beans and tulips overnight. The junimos talk amongst themselves in their strange, wild language, and agree: this is the one. They're back. The valley recognizes its own, even when they've left for a generation. The farmers have come home.
Things change fast in the valley. The community center, empty and decrepit for so many years, is rejuvenated. (Lewis says it was abandoned only a few weeks after the farmer's grandfather left. Strange coincidence, he says, that it both came and went with the farmer's family.) The mines and the quarry, similarly abandoned, are explored for the first time in ages. The town becomes cleaner, brighter, more vibrant, happier.
And it is happier. Not just the environment, but the people. It's the talk of the town for weeks when Haley does her first closet purge. Leah's art show in the town square is a huge success. Shane's smiling for the first time since he moved to the valley. All of them, when asked, say it's all thanks to the farmer.
People love to ask why Lewis didn't fix the community center on his own. Why Willy never repaired the boat to ginger island. Why Abigail or Marlon never went down to fix the elevator in the mines, or why Clint didn't fix the minecarts.
But isn't it so much more interesting to ask how those things were there in the first place? How they got so broken down? If the stories the townspeople tell are true, the valley was once a beautiful place, flourishing and full of life; why did that change? When did it change?
Was it when the farmer's grandfather, the locus of the valley, its chosen representative, left town?
And if so, what happens when the farmer comes back?

not to beat the "sokka's misogyny" disk horse even further into the ground, but while i agree with the take that sokka being sexist logically doesn't make sense, i would go further to say that the water tribes themselves being sexist is both illogical and thematically contradictory.
the flaws of each nation in atla have always been linked to their element, and specifically what those elements represent. fire is the element of power; power, left unchecked, leads to imperialism and authoritarianism. earth is the element of substance and stability; stability, prioritized too highly, creates and justifies the rigid class system and rampant corruption of ba sing se. air is the element of freedom; freedom, taken too far, becomes irresponsibility and abandonment.
meanwhile, water is the element of change... therefore the water tribes cling to antiquated ideas about gender roles instead of adapting with the times (especially when the times involve a fucking war going on).
not only is this unrealistic, it also breaks the thematic pattern of the nations' flaws being virtues taken to extremes, and how this dovetails into the show's overall message about the importance of balance. if we're keeping with the pattern of virtue and vice being two sides of the same coin, then the flaw of the water tribes has to be related to change. and here is where some of the (badly executed) ideas in the comics and legend of korra could have come into play: change, left uncontrolled, can lead to progress... but at the cost of tradition and spirituality.
(imagine a nwt cut off from the world and forced to rely solely on itself, ingenuity and creativity flourishing out of sheer, desperate need. imagine a nwt where waterbending is nothing more than a tool, used to build and defend and maintain a fortress always at risk, its spiritual origins slowly lost to time. imagine a nwt more military than community, whose architecture and technology far exceed anything the world has ever seen, who look down upon their less advanced sister tribe, and see no need for the avatar - after all, where was he when they had no one but themselves for the last 100 years?
when warned that the fire nation is coming, they show no fear; they have held strong on their own for the last century, bolstered by their weapons and wits, and will continue to do so. you need the spirits, aang implores, and is met with derision, for there is no place for spirits in a society always chasing more, greater, better. the spirits have not helped us before, avatar. why would they now? we are all we need.
when the moon spirit falls, unprotected and forgotten in an abandoned, rundown spirit oasis - so do they.)
not only would this fit better thematically, it would also ensure that the nwt's flaw plays a role in its own downfall. where the fire nation's warmongering resulted in the poverty and suffering of its own people, and the earth kingdom's corruption led - at least in part - to the fall of ba sing se, the misogyny of the water tribes is never shown to negatively impact them in any way. the north isn't defeated by the fire nation because they relegated half the population to healing. the south doesn't suffer raids or lose their waterbenders because they (supposedly) didn't let women fight. this lack of narrative punishment means that - outside of a few girlboss moments for katara - the sexism of the nwt isn't significant to the overall story whatsoever.
furthermore, while the ba sing se arc last almosts half a season, and the fire nation's actions drive the entire show, this supposed systemic oppression of women shows up for one episode in the first season before disappearing entirely. pakku is reminded of his lost love, magically turns into a feminist, and somehow the entire tribe follows suit? no one else protests, not even the other students or the chief?
and yet, though there are still no female waterbenders other than katara, or agency for kanna in her relationship, or any indication that women stopped being forcibly betrothed - the entire issue is simply swept under the rug and never brought up ever again in the show. i understand this was a children's cartoon made in 2005, and that even having female characters openly speak about and challenge misogyny was a radical feat for the time and genre, but the reality of patriarchy is that it's structural, sustained and immensely difficult to resist - if the show was going to depict that resistance, it should have done so with greater depth and nuance, as it did for many of the other difficult topics it tackled.
ultimately, handwaving misogyny away like it never existed is far more disrespectful to katara's character, her fight against injustice, and the girls who saw themselves in her, than simply toning it down or removing it could ever be.

HIGH IN THE MOUNTAINS, DEEP IN THE SPRUCE, ON THE SHORE OF THE LAKE, IT’S CAMP LITTLE MOOSE!!!!
Tumblr media
High and Mighty
The villain had been debating entering the hero’s cell for what? Ten? Maybe fifteen minutes now? Graceful footing, yet awkward stance as they hesitated in front of the iron door.
It seemed like a terrible idea for the most part. But on the other hand, they owed the hero a visit.
When villain had been imprisoned, Hero had visited them more than once. Engaging in daily conversations and making sure they only received the best of treatments from the guards and other guests.
Yet after eight months of Hero’s capture, Villain couldn’t afford to visit even once?
They hated the feeling of owing a hero, but they hated the guilt of not showing up even more.
Villain braced themselves, placing a hand on the large metal handle. Whatever state the hero was in on the other side was not going to be pretty, eight months locked in an abandoned warehouse at whomever’s mercy was guaranteed to be a nightmare.
Even Villain felt sick when they saw the message shared throughout the villains community. Free use, Hero; tied up in a room full of tools, address is 2509 Pine Street, warehouse on the left, do what you please.
No note of who had caught them nor a tally of who had used them. Villain, honestly, did not want to know.
With one deep breath, trying their best to prepare themselves, and one steady push of the door, they were in.
The first thing to reach them was the smell, metallic and bitter. Bile rising to their mouth before they could see a thing.
Once their eyes had adjusted to the dim lighting, they noticed the stain on the floor. Maroon and sticky, not dried. Then the tools, shelves upon shelves of tools, ranging from dusty and never used all the way to dripping of fresh blood.
Villain wanted to swallow, but they couldn’t. Everything just got worse the longer their eyes stayed open.
“Hero…?” Their voice was tentative, like they weren’t even sure whether or not the person in front of them was who they thought. In the light, they definitely didn't look like their Hero.
The other didn't respond, lifting their face up slightly to catch a glimpse of the newest intruder, of their new torturer. But when their eyes landed on the villain--despite their multiple beatings--they couldn't wipe the grin off their face.
"F-Finally... took y-you a while, h-huh?"
Out of everything the villain had thought the hero might say, this was nowhere near their list. And the comedic aspect that they still managed to bring to the table only confused the villain further.
"What?"
Hero smiled even brighter, leaning their head back. "T-took you a while... 've b-been waiting~"
Villain didn’t trust their voice enough to respond. They were afraid it might crack or they might breakdown completely if so much as a sound escaped their lips. Guilt bubbled up inside them and seeped through their muscles into their bones, into their brain.
It hurt to see the hero like this. They couldn’t help but recoil even if just slightly at the sight. They had done this. They had allowed this to happen. And the hero had been waiting for them all along.
Unawarely, the villain’s eyes avoided the hero, it felt like the longer they stared, the more real it became. By a pure accidental movement, their eyes landed back on the many tools surrounding them. Hero flinched when they saw where the other’s attention had gone, but steeled themselves back over when the villain noticed.
“R-Ready?” Hero waggled their eyebrows jokingly, blood had crusted over them which took any and all lightheartedness from it.
“For what…” As soon as the villain had asked they regretted it. They didn’t want an answer. It was just out of habit to question.
The crime-stopper looked even more exhausted at this point. Having to explain to villain everything while trying to keep the mood light killed what little energy they had left.
Villain noticed for the first time just how small they looked, not all heroic anymore. Dragged by the hair off their pedestal to be ravaged by violent villains from all over.
“Kill me, Villain.” Their eyes began to water as their bottom lip shook. “Please, I-I can’t take this a-anymore—”
Hero kept talking, kept rambling through their emotions. Letting everything slip. Their steeled expression, cocky tone, hidden tears, everything.
Finally letting everything go.
The villain on the other hand, did not have the same idea in mind. “No.”
The mindless rambling stopped. Shutting Hero up so quickly that every word jumbled on their tongue. They looked shocked, but mostly betrayed. They had waited eight months for the villain, knowing they were the only one who would be willing to end their suffering.
And they had said no.
“I won’t kill you.” I can’t. “I’ll do you one better, I’ll kill whoever put you in here.” The villain stuttered, trying to get their thoughts in order. “You don’t deserve to be here.”
Villain took a step forwards, the way Hero flinched only fuelled their anger; their hunger to avenge. “Who.”
“Please, Villain…”
“Was it Supervillain? Superhero? It has to be one of the supers, you’re impossible to catch otherwise.” The criminal scoffed, discussing their thoughts out loud in hopes of the hero’s aid. Meanwhile, their hands got busy with untying the chain that restrained the other. Fiddling with the massive padlock at the end, they searched for something to pick it with.
Hero let their head fall, avoiding the villain at all costs despite having begged for their attention just before. Despite having waited for months for their arrival. Now they couldn’t face their own shame.
They didn’t even notice when their bonds fell to the floor, releasing them after so long. Only coming to when Villain’s hand gently took their chin and tilted their head up. “Who brought you here, Hero?”
Every muscle in their frail body tensed, tensed with shame and failure. The name felt like a bullet to the heart, “Sidekick.”

Yandere God + Yandere cult members x Cult leader reader (pt 1) :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cw: Religious themes, cult themes, gore, yandere themes, gn reader, harems
Tumblr media
You were hurt, not critically, but still badly hurt. Your legs had cuts made from whips, bruised neck after being choked. You staggered in the forest ears ringing, vision slightly blurred.
How would you end up like this? You may ask, you had a wealthy family with quite a bit of notoriety under their belt, so you being the only child you obviously received the best life, best tutors, best experiences, best extracurriculars. You never wanted to inquire how your family received such riches. You simply wanted to continue living your luxurious life. Your family lived in a community in the countryside, your estate being near the woods. It was a peaceful night when the sounds of people screaming as well as your mother shaking you woke you up, as you and mother got essentials she explained how they were in a cult a popular yet hidden one, they got money from how much members they recruited which was a lot, but someone in the community outsmarted them and subsequently snitched on them to the whole community. The angry mob quickly got the house, much quicker than your mom expected. You two were blocked, stuck having to watch as your dad get slaughtered while trying to rationalize with the mob, stuck having to watch them flood into the house. Your mom decided to sacrifice herself to give you time to run. As you ran, some of the villagers whipped you, and one caught up beginning to choke. You two were fortunately tussling near a cliff. You decided to roll over the cliff with the person. Which is what led you here.
You staggered until you eventually were met with a temple sort of structure, which was very clearly abandoned. You limped in through the doors. You went to sit down on the old couch, scanning the room to see anything to patch yourself up with. Your eyes landed on some cloth, and you stood up to take them ,before you saw a book. It was gold, with black ink and engraved symbols, curiosity seemed to rope you in and you opened it on the first page, meeting you with a page, which had "welcoming spell" as it's title and steps as to how you could complete it. "Great a cult, another one," you thought. But even so, your life had no more purpose, so after you patched yourself up, you decided to follow the steps. And finally, the last step, which was easy to complete, you took blood from one of your cuts and made the shape that the book told you to. You waited and sighed, disappointed, but you didn't even know why you were surprised. You turned back when a glowing gold light flashed behind you brightly. You turned to see a figure, a small one with many eyes looking at you, you wereshocked to say the very least. "How long has it been since I was shackled to this prison, forgotten and left to rot. Mortal, I would reward you for freeing me, but alas, I do not have the prosperity of which I used to have." The small figure said with a voice, heavily contrasting its figure, one that deep, booming and loud. You were in utter shock, staying still until it spoke again. "But if you just help me, do something for me, I would be indebted to you." It said, you slowly nodded, curious about what it was going to propose. "Be my confidant of sorts and help me gain my power, Unfortunately, I am far too horrifying to scout members out, but you are absolutely charming. Simply follow my steps and help me regain my power. Do that for me and act as my spokesperson, my acomplise, my prophet." It spoke to reaching its hand out to make a pact with you. You reached your hand out, and as you touched, a gold glow emitted, and you saw as your body got engraved with an emblem on your thigh, completing the pact
Now, you had to help this god regain its power so you could be rewarded with prosperity.

Um, hi. I'm human, and not a regular listener, so apologies if I'm overstepping, but I asked a friend of mine for help with this already. He said it was above his paygrade and to ask you.
So, like I said, I'm human, and so are my parents, grandparents, and pretty much all my family. And for the first ten years of my life, I thought my sister was too. When she was sixteen, she started wearing long pants and hats all the time, and we all thought it was a fashion choice. A weird one, but at least she wasn't trying to dye her hair with Kool-Aid or pierce her ears with a sewing needle and an ice cube. But then the hat came off on accident. And then my parents saw her horns. I still remember the way they yelled at her before they kicked her out. I still remember the way I just sat on the stairs, being scared for my big sister but not wanting to interfere because what if our parents turned on me, as well?
I recently moved to the city for work. It's a nice place, and there's a park near my flat. There's this woman who walks her dog in the evenings through the park, and by "this woman" I mean my sister. Well, I haven't actually spoken to her about it, but my sister has a rather distinctive birthmark on her left cheek, shaped kind of like a crescent moon. The woman does too. Her hair is shorter, her horns are longer, and she's got a tail, but there's no way she isn't my sister.
I want to reach out to her, I really do. But I'm scared of what she'll think of me. I didn't help her back when I was ten, and I can't fully blame myself for that - I was ten. But even now, I haven't cut off my parents for what they did to my sister. I still go to family dinner with them every other Sunday. They were horrible to her and I'll never forgive them for that, but they're my parents and I still love them.
Is there a way I can ever get my big sister back?
I first want to reassure you that you're perfectly welcome here, reader. You aren't the first sapio to write in to us, not by a long shot, and I sincerely hope you won't be the last.
I also want to take a moment to address a rather throw-away comment in your letter. You say you “can't fully blame yourself” for not acting in your sister's interests when you were a child. Reader, I don't see that you can blame yourself at all. I hope you can find a way to work through any lingering feelings of guilt about what happened back then.
As to your question, I think you need to think very carefully about what you want to gain from reaching out to your sister, and how you will feel if your attempts to reconnect don't go as well as you would hope. There are a few questions I'd like you to consider before making any attempts to reach out.
Your sister has built an entire life for herself independent of you and your parents. Are you able to meet her in that life, and take her as she is – whoever she is, now? Or is some part of you hoping she will slot simply and unproblematically back into your life?
You say you want “your big sister back”. I'm sorry but the person who was your sister when you were 10 simply doesn't exist any more, any more than your 10 year old self does. She has grown and changed, and you need to be sure you want to meet the woman she's become, not only the memory of the girl she was.
I also encourage you to reflect on whether you're ready for the reality of being a sibling to someone in the community. You were raised by people so entrenched in anti-creature beliefs that they abandoned their own child when they discovered her liminal nature. It takes time and effort to be able to show up for your friends and family in the creature community without trailing those ideas in with you.
If, after careful reflection, you decide you still want to reach out to her, I recommend giving her as much room as possible. Approaching her while she's walking her dog is one thing, but that is not the time to spring an entire reconciliation on her. You can introduce yourself, and either give her your contact details or write what you want to say in a letter for her to read when she is emotionally prepared.
I understand that you love your parents, and are able to remain in a relationship with them despite their social and political views. That isn't a failing on your part – it's the reality of love. We all have to make our own minds up about what we are willing to tolerate, and how, and when, and from whom. Your sister also has the right to decide who she shares her life with – even if that decision is hurtful to you.

Honestly, I don't forgive Hunter OR Wrecker for refusing to explain to those three poor clone cadets that the reason they were abandoned isn't because the clone troopers didn't care or weren't loyal, but because they had chips in their heads FORCING them to obey the Empire's orders even when it meant disloyalty to people they cared about.
Like, Hunter and Wrecker KNOW THIS because Rex, a "reg", came and found them and made sure they got to a place where they could GET THE FUCKING CHIPS REMOVED. Hunter and Wrecker saw what happened to Crosshair, they saw what happened to WRECKER HIMSELF.
And yet they hear these poor cadets feeling so betrayed by being left behind and can't even find it in themselves to EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM to try to lighten that sense of betrayal even a little. They sit there listening to one of the cadets saying "Wow, you're doing so much to find your squad member, I wish the other clones had been that loyal to us" and just accept that comparison in fucking silence.
And the icing on this insulting cake is, of course, that Hunter and Wrecker say they can get the three cadets to a safe place and instead of CONTACTING REX AND THE OTHER CLONES, they decide to send them to fucking refugee island instead. THEY DON'T EVEN LET REX OR ECHO KNOW THAT THERE ARE THREE CADETS STILL ALIVE TO BE SAVED. THEY DON'T REUNITE THESE CADETS WITH THEIR OWN PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN FREED ENOUGH TO BE ALLOWED TO CARE AGAIN. Nope. Gotta take them away to refugee island, away from the entire clone community, and never tell Rex or Echo about them ever even though Rex and Echo are out there TRYING TO SAVE CLONES AS THEIR ENTIRE FUCKING MISSION.
FUCK Hunter and Wrecker for this, SO MUCH. They truly hate the real clones to an absurd degree and it shows and I hate THEM for it.

A lovely day for rain
Tw: kidnapping, paranoia, drained reader, mention of needles once, police, forced affection
Taglist: @oleander-nin @itsyagurlchip @radicallxser
“You know… you can leave at any time.”
He whispered soft venomous words into your ear as he held you in his lap. Hugging his arms around your waist as he rested his chin on your shoulder.
“None of the doors are locked… I even told the others it was fine.” Your shoulders slightly perked up with hope. Feeling the sun on your face without being monitored... Getting to see your loved ones again… it felt like a fever dream hearing those words full of faux comfort.
“Not that you'd last long out there…” The blue banded terrapin chuckled dryly as he nuzzled his snout against your neck. “... You'd soon see how much better it is here and come running back.”
Your heart held a stoney doubt from his words as he churred and hugged you tightly. “But if you just ask you can leave at any time.” With bated breath you fiddled your fingers. “Could I leave now?”
He hummed and leaned back, releasing you from his embrace, fingers twitching to hug you again. Sprinting from the train car, you snatched the opportunity. Not minding the others as they watched you run through the abandoned subway station, jetting to the surface.
Unfortunately you were met with pouring rain instead of the free sunshine you longed to feel. That didn't deter you however as you ran. There was no trust of knowing what he'd do next, all you had to do is run.
Your legs burned as you stumbled into your apartment. You were lucky that your bank account auto paid rent and that you kept the spare key just under the door. You flopped on your bed, tired from all the running you did. But you still had to contact your loved ones.
Everything was in the same place as when he kidnapped you months ago. Blankets and pillows filled the small apartment from the events of that night. Picking up your very dead phone, you slipped it onto the charger, praying it still worked.
As you waited you got a cup of water and downed it quickly. Still very on edge, every creak and honking of horns outside had your skin crawl. You nursed the cup in your hand before getting more, feeling extremely dehydrated.
Suddenly you heard the sound of your phone coming back to life and all but stumbled to unlock it. After waiting an excruciating amount of seconds you unlocked it, messing up the password a few times from nerves. Once unlocked your heart fluttered as you opened your contacts. Only for it to drop like a weight in a pool. Everyone was gone…
You opened your apps frantically just to see you were logged out of every single one. And the password had changed. It had been so long that you couldn't remember anyone's number, so you couldn't contact them.
That Jupiter Jim loving-
You took a shaking breath as your hands covered your mouth and nose. Calm down, think this through… You could figure this out. After a few strained breaths you dropped your tired hands and sat back, emotionally and physically exhausted.
It was freedom, but it sure as hell didn't feel like it. And if it was this was, it was a messed up freedom.
Your eyes widened as you scrambled up, remembering one form of communication he could digitally erase. Frantically searching, you shoved things around your counters as you pulled out a box. Letters!
Biting the inside of your cheek, you looked through the envelopes that were held inside. However all the return addresses were crossed out. Having never shown him this box, you check again. Still the same marked out return addresses.
You groaned in defeat and slumped to the floor as tears filled your eyes. You did everything you could think of. Another envelope caught your eye as you tried sucking in what felt like a trapped fate.
Begrudgingly you left your disappointed stupor on the frigid floor. Reaching out you tiredly caught the envelope and opened it, not bothering to check the return address, knowing it would be crossed out. Inside was a paper letting you know of your termination from your job. Eyes widening at the news brought the tears finally flooding down.
How- How had he planned this!? When!?
Glancing over the letter again an epiphany grabbed your attention. The police… No matter how much they might not do, you could at least get in contact with your loved ones. At least that was the hope.
You slammed the letter down onto the counter and rushed out of your dinky apartment. Despite what a short rest you had, desperation clinged to anything that would get you away from that mutant.
Tears continued to pour down as you sprinted to the police station. You knew you looked like a mess and you didn't care. Anything to finally connect with the people you love, to have that freedom you craved.
Stumbling through the door a few people inside stared in surprise, others in disgust. You shook it off, wiping away the streaming liquid. You walked to the front desk, the person there giving you a judgemental look. You took in a deep breath before stuttering out your name and asking for someone to help you contact friends or family.
The person only nodded and called to another worker, motioning them over. Faith fluttered in your heart again as they covertly conversed with one another. This was your last effort, you had to hope as much as possible.
Disappointment reared its head as the second person walked away. But you clung to the plea of freedom as the first person you talked to motioned you to sit down. So you awkwardly sat down in the waiting room.
Rubbing your tear stained cheek, you watched the bustling city outside with growing paranoia. You were searching the crowds for that signature lime green skin, that stupid blue bandana, those eyes that told of obsession. Every second felt like little needles piercing your head as you nervously waited.
Your name was called as gravity pulled on your entire world. Snapping your head to the voice, you saw the one person you didn't want to see more than anything, waving to you with a bright smile.
Leonardo Hamato
All you could feel was defeat and exhaustion in every sense of the word as he helped you up. He waved to the officers with thanks as you both started walking towards your prison.
“So… did we have fun on our little adventure?” He leaned beside you to whisper softly as his arm reached around your back, landing his hand on your waist. You looked at him with a tired glare, earning a chuckle from him as he squeezed you against his side. “Oh don't give me that! I said you could leave where you wanted. I never said anything about having something to come back to.”
You wanted nothing more than to just fall over or punch him in the face. He only took notice of your near fainting, picking you up without a fight. Everything was a haze as he nuzzled your neck once more. “I told you how you'd be running back…”

The thing about post-canon Jade is that she is actually genuinely in character. Yes, even candy!Jade's scandal with Rose. In fact I'd argue that's one of the most in-character moments in the epilogues for either of them. Especially with the context of the most recent update.
TO BE CLEAR. I don't think it was a GOOD decision. I think they definitely should've TALKED to Kanaya about it before they went through with having Yiffany. I think they should have raised her without keeping her secret from literally their entire family.
But it IS in character.
Jade wanted a kid because she was afraid of being isolated and left behind by all of her peers. Given how incredibly lonely she's been HER ENTIRE LIFE and how much abandonment she's gone through, this was a REASONABLE FEAR. All of her friends were moving into a new stage of life, and she couldn't bear to be left behind again, because she's always being left behind.
Rose didn't necessarily want a kid, but she DID want to help Jade. Rose and Jade are genuinely good friends. The beta kids are all ride or die for each other. If Jade had asked Dave or Jegbert-- circumstances willing --they might've suggested communication, but they would've done it, because this is their Jade. Any of them would move mountains for any of the others in a heartbeat. Rose and Jade are no exception to this rule. While Rose loves Kanaya, loves her a whole lot, she's not... great? At current events? She looked into the future, saw that Kanaya would forgive her, and went ok. It's help Jade time.
And yes, they should have talked to Kanaya about it. But this is Rose and Jade. Some of the least communicative characters in Homestuck. Both of them just fix it themselves, and then never talk with anyone else about why or how or what they're doing until it's too late. Of course they messed up on the communication-- they've never been able to communicate well with anyone.
There's no world in which they figured that out in the time that they grew up on Earth C, considering they raised themselves as gods for the remainder of their teenage lives.
Kanaya has every right to be fucking PISSED about this. She's in the right to be angry with both of them for the shit they pulled. They were in the wrong for Rose cheating on Kanaya and Jade asking her to do it. But it was, actually, FULLY in character.
