How do we balance the tentative joy of hearing about the indictment with the overwhelming and crushing knowledge that not a goddamn thing is going to come of this and ultimately nothing will change?
Because
um
reasons.
(actually i feel like if the skies split open and shithead goes to jail it'll just leave a giant sucking void for desantis to slime his way into the party's graces and he'll charge full speed ahead into nuking this country from the inside)
Okay, look. Everyone reacts differently, we've all been through a fuckload of trauma, and all that, but I just... really don't get the pre-emptive "don't get your hopes up, nothing will happen and nothing will change." I know that people do it as a defense mechanism, but we spent months hearing that Trump would win the 2020 election. (He lost it.) Then we heard that all his lawsuits to overturn might actually work. (They didn't.) Then we heard that he wouldn't be impeached after January 6. (He was.) Then we heard that he wouldn't be indicted, and well, today, he was. This is unprecedented in the history of America. Over 250+ years, and a current or former president had never been indicted for anything. Not even goddamn Nixon was formally charged, and Biden definitely isn't gonna pardon Trump the same way Ford did with Tricky Dick. And now that someone has finally bit the bullet and gone first, there are a whole cascade of other indictments lined up and waiting to be finished.
We don't know what will happen, but something will. Trump will be arrested and arraigned, and yet again: this has never happened before. Just throwing up our hands and going "well guess nothing's gonna happen and he'll get off scot free!" is NOT the energy we want to be bringing here. It's time to push forward, make sure that the Manhattan DA, and everyone else with pending charges against him, hold that motherfucker's greasy orange feet to the fire and make him FRY. As for DeSantis, as I have written about before, he's not smart, he's not a good candidate, and his ideas are not by any means universally popular. Fascists thrive on making you feel disempowered and hopeless, so it's no use to fight them since they'll just win anyway, and all the terrible events of the last few years have made it an appealing idea, but... c'mon now.
Everyone insisted for months that Trump would never be charged with anything. But almost 60% of the country thinks that the criminal cases against him are permanently disqualifying, and this is before any major cascades. This whole "if you dare to arrest Trump, he'll win in a landslide in 2024!" psy-op is just that: a psy-op. A trick. A bluff. They're shit scared that the Big Mac God King is finally on the brink of an actual downfall and facing consequences for his actions for the first time in his fucking miserable life, and they're trying to freak us out of doing it, because they have nothing left. So I say: get him. Run him over. Then back up the truck and run him over again.

I think my favourite piece of symbolism in rgu will always and forever be the carousel in episode 39. In the intro, you get this awesome shot of Utena and Anthy riding on horses through the sky, and throughout the whole show you’re waiting for that moment to come to fruition.
Horses, of course, are heavily linked to the idea of the prince. Dios is described as a “prince on a white horse,” Touga explicitly states that horses are part of the “prince” persona, Akio and Touga both ride with Utena on a horse when they’re trying to be her prince. And as the protagonist, most viewers will be rooting for Utena to get her own moment of heroism. To break away from Akio’s abuse and become the gallant prince she’s always dreamed of being.
However, when Anthy stabs Utena, this dream is shattered. She says, “You remind me so much of Dios when I loved him. But you can never be my prince, because you’re a girl.” An intentionally cruel jab, rubbing salt in the wound. But also showing Anthy’s mindset, fear of being abused again by someone who wants to trap her in a power dynamic. She loves Utena and believes she is genuinely trying to help her, but still can’t trust her.
This is when the carousel appears. The same motif of the white horse, but this time a crude plastic simulacrum, going around and around in circles. Utena has been sold the idea of the prince as a way to claim autonomy in a patriarchal society, but in the end the “prince” in power only wants to keep everything in eternal stasis. The flying horses in the sky were always a pipe dream, because that’s not what it means to claim power within the framework of this system. A carousel can never advance. A prince can never truly smash the world’s shell, just accumulate power within it.
The nature of the carnival ride and the children’s laughter in the background are also important here, almost mocking Utena in her lowest moment. It reminds me of Akio’s statement that she was merely “playing” at the duelling game, like all this was some childish power fantasy. But we know that’s not true. That’s why Utena is able to pull herself up and make her way to Anthy’s coffin. Dios is the one riding the carousel here, offering Utena false platitudes and beckoning her to accept the way things are, join him in going around and around for eternity. However, Utena’s desire to help her friend trumps her desire to be a hero. To help Anthy has always been her main driving force, and Akio is so cynical that he can’t understand that someone might want to help for purely selfless reasons. Ultimately, this is his downfall.
When the curtain falls and the prince is revealed to be a child on a plastic horse, Utena is disgusted by the farce and accepts the painful reality of her identity being ripped from her and discarded. Because being the prince was never Utena’s goal, it was a means to an end to help Anthy from the very beginning.

can I see an ashi and gigi interaction <//3 look she even has an emote 🌺
KIDDING!!!!!! BUT HI I WANT MORE GIGI CONTENT 🫶 really curious about 🦐🦑🍄 octotrio? this is my attempt at more unagi crumbs BUT!!! I AM GEN CURIOUS ABOUT OCTO INTERACTIONS 🫣 don’t think I’ve seen gigi interact w the other two ssssso 👁️👁️
Tumblr media
in a nutshell?
if these three carked it right in front of them, gia would at long last repent and hole up in a nunnery like the good lord intended.
jk. (kinda)
on paper, gia is the octotrio’s personal henchboy as payment for a “favor” floyd does them a little prior/early into the events of book 5. (currently working on a one-shot that goes into this) originally gia’s tenure under the mostro lounge was only meant to be for a few weeks, but it’s made readily apparent once the octotrio finds use in something they are not about to let it slip through their fingers.
so begins the trio's pattern of finding even the smallest infractions on gia’s part as cause to extend their servitude under them. this is, understandably, why there's little love lost between them. i’d say gia prays for the trio’s downfall, but gia isn’t religious and far too proactive to wait around for that to happen.
they’ve made it their personal mission not to leave nrc until octavinelle is burning at their feet.
in reality, gia’s relationship with the octotrio is quite complicated.
they’ve been an absolute pain in the neck in every single encounter, but it doesn’t take gia long to realize the octotrio is their speedrun towards getting some REAL power in their hands. proud and hard-working they may be, gia is ultimately a pragmatist at heart.
though a bit of a showman, azul IS an undeniably powerful mage with many a tentacle in many a pie. the twins are nothing to sneeze at either.
as much as gia hates their guts, these three are their chance to make it not only to graduation but to actually make something of themself when staying at night raven is no longer an option.
and that’s not even getting into the growing familiarity between gia and the trio steadily murking the waters…
🦑 AZUL ASHENGROTTO: (tagging @thehollowwriter since you also sent an ask for azul)
perhaps the most subtle dynamic of the three (making it the hardest to explain) gia's view of azul can be largely inferred by their joke-title for him: boss.
if azul wants something done, then gia gets it done. gia proves themself an incredibly adept asset to azul and it's why azul pulls whatever strings he can to keep them under his thumb.
that said, while gia puts up with much of azul's overworking and respects they are indebted to the trio by not putting up much of a fuss-- azul is aware he occasionally has to sweeten the pot if he wants to keep it that way.
he'd be a fool to forget this was the same person who got all his original contracts turned to dust. and besides: what good, gracious employer doesn't reward his employees for their hard work?
so azul doesn't mind giving gia access to a few of his private merchandise channels, maybe even some of his more advanced grimoires and alchemy notes, etc.
this dynamic remains largely unchanged for a while, though if one were to squint they might catch a degree of casualness peppering their interactions over time. they indulge in subtle sniping-- even minor trolling-- namely from gia who finds azul an easy target.
they are not fully aware of how things have changed until @cyanide-latte's chrysanthos shroud makes quite a bitter impression on them both. in a low moment surprising even azul, he admits to gia that shroud makes him feel inadequate as a housewarden-- made worse by the fact azul knows it isn't shroud's intention. shroud, in his own way, truly embodies the spirit of benevolence an octavinelle housewarden should be and it's something azul wonders he'll ever be able to do himself. (you can read more on this in cy's post: here!)
gia, in an attempt to give azul the peace of mind that they won't try to use this moment of weakness against him (and bolstered by the knowledge this could come in as blackmail should he think to use what they're about to tell him), shares a bit of their own worries shroud managed to jar loose.
working for the trio is hard, however, it's also been the path that's given gia the most opportunities. but, with the trio being a year ahead of them, gia is well aware their time with them is limited. they can’t help but mull over what is to become of them when the trio leave for their senior internships. gia will likely never see them again and likely be nothing more than a footnote from the trio’s school lives. a strange, magicless weirdo from another dimension, wasn’t that a fun little story?
gia’s probably going to have a lot of free time as a junior and who knows how they plan to go about senior year, frankly, they’re a bit at a loss with themself…
anyway. if it weren't for azul """kindly""" giving them the chance to gain what they DO have by working for him (or whatever), they'd probably be even more lost than they are now. he's a pain and a half, but he's probably not the worst housewarden in octavinelle history.
at this, azul reminds gia he's made his plans to branch out the mostro lounge to the public quite clear. gia wouldn’t be bound to them anymore, but it'd be a shame to let their experience at the school's location go to waste, wouldn't it?
🍄 - JADE LEECH
gia's relationship with jade is probably the strangest because despite jade being the one that wigs gia out the most, he is also the one gia openly gets along with the best.
fun fact: gia opened up their own club. the biking club. they are the only person in said club because, for some reason or another, they reject anyone who tries to get in. it might have to do with the fact the reason the club exists is because they needed an excuse to have a bike on school grounds they are allowed to ride anywhere unquestioned-- such as for personal errands or scavenging for potion ingredients. this includes up in the mountains.
y'know who else is often in the mountains..?
because of this little coinkidink, jade found a very weak and fevered gia struggling to get off the ground because they'd stupidly decided to go out foraging while sick. and of course, what good, gracious vice-housewarden of octavinelle wouldn't lend a hand to a poor, unfortunate underclassman in need despite their fervent protests? they're obviously, deliriously ill and are unaware of what's best for them…
indebted to jade on top of the octotrio as a whole, gia lost what little personal time they had as president of their own one-man club. now the biking club is (semi-officially) affiliated with his mountain lovers' club-- meaning gia accompanies him whenever he goes and bikes him around trails whenever he feels like it.
in theory, being alone up a mountain with jade leech should be terrifying, but gia sincerely enjoys these outings. jade is not only incredibly well-versed in mountain flora but a skilled potionologist in his own right.
honestly, it’s not bad.

Crowley and Aziraphale both have equally severe trauma, but it's different for each. That has to be taken into account when comparing their reactions to their former Sides. There are meaningful points of comparison, but the interesting part is in how they've adapted to survive their abuse, not who is "better adjusted." The things that they've learned to help them survive have kept them alive and hurt them in equal measure.
Also, although I'm a strong believer that each character has...well, a Nature, things about them that are hardwired in, I think their responses to their Sides are the products of Nurture (or, well, lack thereof, the poor dears) more than anything.
It didn't take Crowley long to grow away from Hell because Hell doesn't encourage connection. It encourages the opposite. Demons aren't even supposed to trust each other! They're just supposed to be afraid of each other! And honestly, that's where evil will sow the seeds of its own destruction: Hell treated Crowley so poorly that he decided he wanted to go off and be part of something else instead, and I think his work will ultimately lead to Hell's downfall, because I truly doubt Crowley is the only demon who feels that way.
It HAS been hard for Aziraphale to grow away from Heaven because Heaven doesn't just encourage connection - it coerces total assimilation by promising that with Heaven, you can be Good. However, this, too, is where I think evil will sow the seeds of its own destruction: if you make people desperate for belonging and desperate to feel like they are Good, they might join up with someone who's more accepting of them, someone with whom they can belong more naturally, someone who makes it easier to do good. I find it likely there are many angels like Aziraphale and Muriel, who want affection and are earnestly trying to be good for real.

Angst thought of the day for you my friend
How did Na react to Wukong's prison ( that piece of scroll of memory Azure trapped him in ) get sliced in half? With the thought of maybe never being able to get him out again?
And would she insist on going into the scroll with MK and Macaque? And to see him (Wukong) so broken inside as he relives some of his worst mistakes?
hello frosted 🤭
It already worried Nà to death enough knowing he was trapped in the scroll and currently in the grasps of Azure. It was another punch seeing the tablet get sliced. I feel like for everyone there, it felt like a drop in their stomach.
Tumblr media
After this, it’s when MK takes this leave, and the others are onto their training arc with master Subodhi. I’ve had the idea that Nà might have some sort of support power (similar to tang), and I believe I might’ve mentioned it in the other angsty posts hehe. BUT taking that time to hone in on her powers, however can’t focus because she’s too entirely focused on never seeing Wukong again. In the training, it might be addressed that her dependence on Wukong is ultimately her downfall, and would only have to trust that they will be able to get him back ( he is Monkey King after all!) Also other tidbit on Nà having to overcome her own issues, her being dependent on Wukong’s attention is what made her happier, but ofc it’s backfired when he’s not around- this coming from her being kind of lonely in her life in Megapolis, away from her family, and not having many friends (yet).
ANYWAYS
we come back to the point where they get the sliced tablet thingy
Tumblr media
Definitely a stress crier
Tumblr media
And finally her trying to tag along with Mac and MK into the scroll. Macaque would be so very against the idea, it’s far too dangerous and he wouldn’t want to risk putting her in such a predicament. I think it would be funny for Nà to see both of the monkey boys coming back out from the scroll and being nicer (?)to each other. As from the incident with possessed Wukong and LBD would’ve tarnished their relationship just a bit. In the moment where they find Wukong, there’s an understanding between the two that Wukong wants to be better in his ways.
Maybe the three of them from then on out would have a better relationship… maybe learn how to share Nà

Summery: Mikey shows up in hopes to save Y/n, but little does he know, what awaits him when he arrives.
Paring(s): Sano "Mikey" Manjiro x Reader
Warning(s): Kidnapping, Guns, Attempted Murder, Violence, Angst(with happy ending)
Tumblr media
Smiley and Angry rarely ever were afraid. Fear didn’t come easily to them, it would take a lot to get under their skin. Both of them were strong in more than one way. And as a captain and vice captain, they had to keep up the strong willed appearances to their division and fellow Toman members. However…
In this moment. They were never more scared in their lives.
Their sister had been kidnapped, possibly harmed, and god knows what you were going through right now…
It made them sick to even think about it. So, they focused on the rage they felt towards the fuckers who hurt you. Took you away. And when they get there, they would be all but merciful.
“Takemitchy! How much further?” Smiley asked over the loud engines. “Not much more. We’ll be there soon.” Takemichi answers. “How did you find out about all of this?” Asked Angry.
“I overheard Mikey’s conversation with the guy who kidnapped Y/n.” Takemichi lied. He did know about the phone call, but only after he had traveled back to the past for what felt like the hundredth time. But the twins didn’t have to know that. “I wanted to stop him, but I knew that would be useless. I could tell he was ready to put his life on the line to save Y/n.”
That was also true. Only, in the future, it didn’t exactly play out that way. In the future, Y/n had died saving Mikey. She had been shot, taking the bullet that was meant for Mikey. It resulted in Mikey falling deeper into darkness, and ultimately, resulted in Toman’s downfall.
The twins fell silent. They always had a hunch, that you and Mikey might have felt more than the platonic feelings for each other. They were hesitant, of course. Afraid of their sister getting hurt somehow, or her heart broken. While they respected Mikey, they were still hesitant to let him get that close to their sister. It didn’t even involve him personally. That hesitance goes for anyone.
But if Mikey was willing to do this. Go alone, to save their sister, knowing he could be killed…
Maybe they didn’t need to hesitate anymore.
“There!” Takemichi said, looking ahead at the ever approaching warehouse. They pulled up at the front and looked in shock at what they saw. Bodies. Multiple unconscious bodies, scattered about the ground. This was Mikey’s doing, no doubt. Takemichi hopped off the back of Chifuyu’s bike. “I hope we’re not too late. Come on.” The twins and Chifuyu nods and hurried ahead.
All of them stopped in their tracks, when they heard the unmistakable sound of a gun being fired.
Tumblr media
Mikey had arrived at the warehouse, and he was immediately greeted by at least twenty men. All ready to fight, some ready with bare fist, some with metal poles and knives. Mikey got off his bike and slowly approached.
“Get out of my way.” He says lowly. Much to Mikey’s annoyance, the dumb son of bitches didn’t listen. Which was fine. He’d just make them move.
Every person who dared to stop Mikey, was met with a swift knockout. Not one could land a single hit on him, and before anyone knew it. Mikey had made it to the warehouse doors.
He quickly opened the doors, and was met with a earth shattering ‘bang!’ .
And that’s when he felt it, the sting and the warmth of blood pouring down his skin.
Tumblr media
“You’re an idiot if you think Mikey is coming alone.” You tell Isamu. “If no one else, then my brothers will be with him. They’re protective, sometimes annoyingly so.” Isamu shrugs. “If he wants you to see another day, he’ll be alone. But if what you’re saying is true, then I’ll just kill whoever he brought with him too. Then…” Isamu looked down at you, and tapped the gun against your cheek. You flinched as the coldness of the pistol made contact with your skin.
“I’ll kill you too.”
You glared up at him, more upset with the thought of Mikey and your brothers being harmed, than the threat of you being murdered.
Suddenly, the sound of an engine filled your ears. Isamu smirks and stands up from beside you. He cocks the gun. “And here he is.”
You began to panic. Desperately trying to figure out a way to either stop Isamu, or warn Mikey at least. Isamu walked ahead of you slightly and aimed the gun up at the front doors. “Come on, Mikey.” You took the chance to move your body to an upright position, while Isamu was distracted.
Every slight move you made, sent a fresh wave of nausea through you. You tried to focus on standing, trying to drown out the lightness in your head. You managed to stand up. Just as you did, the warehouse doors began to open.
Now!
You raise your leg and kick hard into Isamu’s back, just as he pulled the trigger, throwing his aim off. The sound of the gun going off made your heart sink into your stomach.
Dizziness took over, and you were sent to the ground. The world spun and shifted in your vision. However, you were able to make out something through your slowly blurring vision.
Mikey.
He was standing in the entrance, still alive. By an insane stroke of luck, the bullet that had been fired at him, had grazed his right cheek. It had missed.
“You bitch!” Isamu yelled, turning towards you. This time, he aimed the gun at you. Before he could pull the trigger once again, Mikey rushed towards him. He jumped up and brought his foot down hard onto his head, effectively knocking him out cold.
“Mikey!”
Another voice filled the empty warehouse. You could recognized it as Takemichi’s voice. You then heard multiple footsteps approaching quickly. “Y/n, are you ok?” Your brother Smiley’s voice. Then, you felt someone tugging at your hands. “Shit, this is on her tight.” Chifuyu’s voice.
Your eyelids threatened to close, exhaustion finally setting in. Though, the sound of repetitive impact kept you conscious. Was Mikey still fighting Isamu? But, Mikey knocked him out…didn’t he?
“Mikey! You got to stop!” Takemichi yells desperately.
“He…He’s gonna kill him.” Angry muttered.
You opened your eyes, your gaze falling onto Mikey’s back. The source of the harsh impact had been coming from him. He was on top of Isamu, delivering blow after blow to his face. Blood covered Mikey’s fist, and speckled his face.
Your stomach twisted at the sight. He really would end up killing Imasu if he didn’t stop. “Mikey…” Your voice cracked, so quiet you could barely hear it. You suddenly felt your hands being freed from the tape. As soon as you were sure it was gone, you used what little strength you had left to push yourself off the ground and hurried to Mikey.
“Y/n, wait!”
When you reached Mikey, you wrapped your arms around him and tried pulling him off of Isamu. However, you were far too weak right now to do much of anything. “Mikey!” You cry, still hearing the impact of his fist colliding with Isamu’s face. “Mikey enough!”
Mikey didn’t stop, he barely registered your voice. “Mikey, you’re gonna kill him! What will everyone else think of you do that!? What kind of leader would you be!?” Mikey seemed to have paused at that, but his fist was still at the ready to punch again. “If you kill him…Toman will never look at you the same way again. I won’t either.”
“What kind of example would you be setting for everyone? Toman doesn’t resort to murder to beat their opponents or solve their problems. It’s not right, and you know it. If it were how you lead, how you persuade Toman to be. It wouldn’t be the Toman I respect, and you wouldn’t be the leader I admire. So please…Stop this.”
It seemed you were finally able to reach Mikey, as his body became less tense, and his fist lowered. As he turned to face you, your body gave out, and you slumped over. “Y/n?” Mikey caught you before you could hit to ground. When you didn’t respond, he became panicked. “Y/n!?” He shook your body slightly, still nothing.
All you could hear was muffled frantic voices before giving into exhaustion, then everything went dark.
Tumblr media
Mikey couldn’t look the twins in the eyes, not after what happened to their sister. You had been kidnapped and badly hurt because of him.
“Hey Mikey.”
But that didn’t stop them from talking to him.
“You have any idea why that guy kidnapped Y/n?” Asked Smiley. Mikey was silent for a good while before finally speaking. Though, he kept his gaze on the ground.
“He wanted to lure me out, and kill me. He had a gun pointed at me as soon as I walked in. And he used Y/n as bait.”
“Bastard.” Smiley spat. “It’s my own fault.” Mikey mutters. “This happened because of me. She was better off not being around me.”
“I wouldn’t go that far.” Angry said. “I’ve never seen Y/n as happy as she has been with you. You mean a lot to her. And after tonight, I can tell she means a lot to you too.”
“We shouldn’t be around each other like we have been. People might think we hate each other or something if we stop seeing each other.” Mikey mutters. “It’s for her own good.”
Smiley sighed and crossed his arms as he leaned against a near by wall.
“I could tell, as soon as she saw you at that first meeting we took her to.” He said. “She met everyone else, she thought they were all cool and respected them. But you…I could see it in her eyes. Her admiration for you was undeniable. She looks at you like you’re her hero. So before you start jumping to conclusions like that, maybe consider how she would feel if you suddenly stopped talking to her.”
A doctor walks out of the room you were currently in. He approached the twins, telling them they were allowed to see you now. Before they went, Smiley spoke to Mikey one more time.
“Take good care of her Mikey, treat her right. She means a lot to us too.”
With that, the two walked inside.
Tumblr media
The sound of beeping stirred you from your slumber, bright light causing you to flinch and narrow your eyes. You turn your head to see a heart monitor, and an iv bag. So, you were in a hospital. You turned your head the other to see your brothers, sleeping in the chairs sat on the other side of the room.
You tried to sit up straight, groaning as you did so. That seemed to have caught your brothers attention. They snapped out of sleep and rushed to your side. “Y/n! How are you feeling?” Asked Angry “Exhausted.” You muttered. “What happened?”
“You were beat up pretty bad. Not to mention that asshole drugged you.” Answered Smiley. Oh, that’s right.
Wait. Then what about…
“Where’s Mikey?” You ask quickly. “Out in the hall.” Said Smiley. “He hasn’t left since you were brought here.”
“Can I see him?” You asked. Your brothers nod and briefly leave the room. After a few minutes, they came back, with Mikey.
“Mikey…” Your voice came out in a relived sigh. “Thank goodness you’re alri-”
Mikey wasted no time getting to your side. As he reached the bed, he hugged you close to him, hiding his face in your shoulder. You didn’t hesitate to hug him back with your good arm. You felt Mikey’s shoulders shake slightly, his grip on you tightened. “I-I thought…I thought you…” His voice was just as shaky. You glance down at him for a moment before looking at your brothers. They both gave you a knowing look before quietly leaving the room.
“It’s alright Mikey. I’m right here. I’m ok.” You said softly. “But what about you? Are you ok?” Mikey nods slowly, afraid that if he started talking, he’d loose what little control of emotions he had. Another sigh left you. “Good. Here.” You scoot to the side, making room for Mikey. He climbed onto the spot next to you, and held you close again.
“That guy…Isamu. Is he still alive?” You ask. Mikey nods. Another good thing. He deserved his lights being punched out, but not to be killed. Mikey was above resulting that kind of violence. He used his fist like a real fighter would. Maybe this time, a little too much.
But at least he didn’t stoop that low. And that’s what matters.
“I’ve never seen you so mad before…I don’t think I’ve seen you mad ever actually.” You mutter. Mikey was quiet for a moment. You felt him shift slightly, moving his head back to look at you. “What do you expect? Some guy takes you away and hurts you, of course I’m gonna be mad. But…”
Mikey’s eyes avoided your own as he spoke. “I really did want to kill that guy for a moment.”
There was something about the way he sounded admitting that, caused a slight twinge of fear to pierce your heart. His voice left no room for consideration. He meant what he said. And that scared you.
“There’s something…wrong with me Y/n. I can’t fully understand it, and the best way I know how to describe it to you is, impulses. They’re so strong and…violent. I can’t ignore them when it happens. And before I know what’s going on, there’s someone’s blood on my hands. Whether that blood belongs to my friends or not.”
Was it fear you were feeling right now, having heard all of this? Or was it something else? You weren’t afraid of Mikey, even hearing this, you don’t think you could say you fear him. Was it pity? Concern?
You guessed, what really scared you, was the fact that he was capable of doing such a thing. Anyone is capable of killing someone else. Mikey was no different. But you hated the thought of someone like Mikey murdering someone.
“So…It’s happened before?” You asked. “Back then, when you were fighting Isamu…you’ve done that before?”
Mikey nods. “As of recent, those impulses haven’t popped up. I have…good people in my life to help with that. Whether they know it or not, they keep me from doing things I don’t want to do. That I shouldn’t want to do…” Finally he looks at you. “This may be selfish of me to say. But, you’re one of those people.”
“I am?”
“Yeah. But, I don’t want you to feel like you have to be my personal therapist or something. I just, care about you a lot. So, I figured you should know…”
Your hand found it’s way to Mikey’s, you gave it a gentle squeeze. “I care about you a lot too Mikey. And you’re right, I don’t think I can help you on a professional level. But…” A soft smile formed on your face. “I’m willing to help you as best as I can because I…” Your heart was in your throat, the words you wanted to say seemed impossible to get out. But…Mikey was just so honest with you right now. So honest, and vulnerable with you.
You didn’t want to keep secrets from him, even this kind of secret.
“Because I love you.”
There it was.
“I love you way too much to let you deal with that burden on your own. I want to be there when you feel like the world is against you. Like when it seems everyone’s out to get you. I’ll be there at your lowest and I won’t leave you alone no matter what.”
There. Even if Mikey didn’t feel the same, you meant every word. You’d be there for him, even if just as a friend.
Suddenly, tears began to fill Mikey’s eyes, and rolled down his cheeks.
“Mikey? Are you ok? I’m sorry, did I say something to upset y-” Mikey cut you off by bringing you in a tight hug. “Do you really mean that?” He asks shakily. You nod your head. “Every word.”
Mikey then pulled back, only the lean forwards to plant a kiss on the corner of your mouth. Heat rushed to your face. “M-Mikey!?”
“Sorry. I’ve never kissed anyone before so that probably sucked.”
You blinked once, then twice before it all set in. A bright warm smile graced your features, and before you knew what you were doing, you pulled Mikey in and kissed him softly.
Mikey, as awkward as his effort was, melted into the kiss. After a few seconds, you both pulled apart.
“Does this mean you love me too?” You say with a giggle. “Thought that was obvious.” Mikey says, hugging you again. You laughed gently and snuggled in closer to him.
“Good.”
Tumblr media
“I can’t believe you never learned how to tie a tie.” You sigh as you fix Mikey’s messily made tie. “Seriously. Your sister is getting married today, you’d think you’d practice beforehand.”
“When would I ever be wearing a tie aside from this though?” Mikey mutters. You give him a look. “You should still know. You’re a grown man for crying out loud.” You finished tying his tie and take a step back. “There.” You took a moment to take in Mikey. He wore a gorgeous suit, made by Mitsuya personally.
“There’s my handsome man.” Mikey looked away from you, a light blush on his cheeks. “Shut up.” You laugh and take his hand. “Come on, the others are waiting.” You lead Mikey out of the bedroom. Mikey looked down at you, the blush still on his cheeks.
“Y-You look pretty.”
You look up at Mikey. “Thirteen years of us being together, and you still act all shy when complimenting me?” You tease. “I’m trying to be a gentleman!” Mikey frowns. “Well thank you.” You say, leaning up to kiss his cheek.
You both make it to the wedding hall along with everyone else. Emma looked breath taking as she made her way down the isle to meet her husband at the altar. You felt so happy for your best friend. After all this time, she and Draken had finally tied the knot. It was almost tiring seeing neither of them make a move, back when you all were teenagers.
Though he would never admit it, Draken knowing that Mikey of all people got into a relationship before him was little unheard of. He respected Mikey, and loved him like a brother. But Mikey was not the type to get into a relationship. Or at least, that’s what everyone thought at the time.
So when he was told that you and Mikey were together, he figured it was time he hurry up and confess to Emma already. And he was glad he did. Cause look at him now.
Almost in tears at the sight of his soon-to-be wife.
You held Mikey’s hand and rest your head on his shoulder. Mikey smiled softly, glancing down at you.
When he found out Draken had proposed to his sister, it got him thinking.
And thinking got him planning.
And planning lead him to taking action.
Though. He thought it would be rude to propose to you on his sister’s big day.
He’d wait until tomorrow.
Mikey squeezed your hand gently. Tomorrow couldn’t come soon enough…

all that love ever taught me
Eddie Munson x Reader
Summary: Eddie has loved you for a long while, he just doesn't have what it takes to tell you, and that might just be his downfall.
Requested by @stiegasaw: Could you do something with Eddie as a secret admirer?
A/N: This one is written in a bit of a different style than what I normally do, but I think it turned out okay, do let me know. Also, exclusively from Eddie's pov (a very lovesick Eddie, might I add) <3.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson despised cliches.
He hated when movies threw in that overly done love story, where against all odds, the guy gets the girl in the end. It was overused and too far away from reality, more often than not making him roll his eyes at his TV to a movie he was enjoying before all the mushy stuff started.
He couldn't stand it because they always made it look like the real world was a sea of roses, which was so so far from the truth.
Eddie hated cliches, because ultimately, he was living the biggest of them all. Except in his scenario, a happy ending was nowhere to be seen.
The tragedy started after the first time Eddie failed to graduate, Jason was giving him shit about it right on the first day back, making a show with his peers about how much of a failure Eddie was. And that's when you came crashing into his life — his personal angel, he liked to think — strutting up beside Eddie with your doc martens and a faded Bon Jovi shirt, talking all sweet about how Jason alone managed to lose the last game of basketball for the school's team. It shut the jock up and sent a cupid's arrow right through Eddie's chest; who acted like a massive weirdo and was too flustered to say anything to you. Safe to say he was kinda glad for being held back after discovering you'd be sharing his classes.
And now, six months later and a lot of wishful glances combined with leaping hearts, Eddie found himself head over heels in love with the girl who defended him once. But he couldn't be blamed, no one stands up for Eddie Munson, and when you also smile at him from the other side of the classroom and take an extra set of notes whenever he misses a class, he was bound to become every single cliche he said to hate.
_
Monday morning started out with shy rays of sun peeking over grey clouds, making the steadily falling droplets of rain shine. It was precisely the kind of morning that got Eddie wanting to turn around in his bed and continue sleeping. But he couldn't, an annoying chemistry assignment said so.
Hawkins High's parking lot was more packed than usual, leaving Eddie to park his van a little further than he'd like. He huffed in disdain when he plucked the key from the ignition, putting on his hoodie in a cheap attempt to not get soaked.
Water splashed around his sneakers as Eddie ran towards the school's doors, backpack bouncing on his back.
He stopped just short of reaching the roof, his feet coming to a halt when his gaze landed on you, who stood beside the glass doors he was trying to reach, shaking the rain from your umbrella.
Eddie felt a single drop of water running down his forehead, and then another, and one more; his hair shining as more and more raindrops clung to it. It happened most of the time, a small part of him froze whenever he was presented with the possibility of having a moment with you. Something inside him kept saying; 'what do you want with someone like her? Someone so astronomically out of your league? You'll just weird her out eventually'. Even if you were nothing but kind, always making an effort to talk with him, he still hesitated.
"Eddie, man," Gareth's voice snapped Eddie's mind back to reality, "what the hell are you doing? You're getting soaked." The boy stood on the sidewalk, under the small roof of the brick wall, frowning and shaking his head at Eddie.
"Just zoned out." Eddie waved a dismissive hand at him, walking under the roof and out of the rain. He pushed back his hoodie, shaking his head as a dog would to get rid of the raindrops.
Gareth scoffed, "yeah right, and I'm looking at the reason why," he pointedly shot a glance in your direction with a smirk, earning himself a shove in the shoulder from Eddie that only made him laugh harder.
_
There were rare times in which Eddie would consider himself lucky. Having your locker just three doors away from his, was one of those times.
Eddie took his time separating his books, gently swinging the metal door back and forth and creating a melody with the rusty hinges and the click of his rings.
Your laughter made his ears perk up. Not so subtly, he peeked from behind the locker's door. His fingers fumbled with the little notebook he had in his hands, anticipation building in his stomach.
A soft chuckle escaped you, resonating through the school's hallway and making Eddie smile. He watched as you carefully picked up the note, as your eyes crinkled with a smile of your own once you read it.
With messy handwriting — messier than normal, considering his nerves — Eddie had slipped the first anonymous note inside your locker just barely a month ago. For the sole purpose of him hearing a conversation between you and one of your friends, where you were saying how you felt a little weird in your new jacket, like everyone was looking at you. And Eddie simply couldn't let it pass, because it was a light blue leather jacket that had rendered him breathless for a moment, and he needed you to know. So he wrote;
For what's worth, I think your look is pretty metal. Which in my humble opinion, is the most beautiful there is.
It got you biting your lip to contain the smile, holding onto the small note as if it was a diamond ring.
Eddie got pretty addicted to the sight, so every once in a while, he'd pour little bits of his affection in a note and slip it into your locker.
Too late, he realized you had closed said locker and were now making your way to him.
He subconsciously straightened his posture, hastily shoving his black little notebook into his back pocket.
"Hey, Eddie." You held onto his locker door, fingers dangerously close to his own.
Eddie cleared his throat, his thumb barely grazed the skin of your hand before he pulled away. "Y/N, to what do I owe the honor?"
You chuckled and swatted at his arm. For a moment, your lips parted, and it looked like you wanted to say something else, before the words faded and you settled for; "I took some extra notes in our last class, Mr. Anderson usually gives us a few minutes to catch up before his tests, you can take them if you'd like." You extended the paper to him, with the neat handwriting Eddie was all too familiar with.
"Shit, you're an angel, sweetheart," the pet name slipped past his lips like butter, as if it was routine, as if you were his to call. His locker door shut with a loud bump of metal against metal, eyes fixed on yours to see how much damage his loose tongue had caused.
There was a reason for the way he felt so drawn to you, Eddie figured, maybe if he was bold enough, he'd test fate.
You smirked, eyelashes kissing the corner of your eyes, touch as sweet as honey and as warm as the sun when your fingers closed around the cuff of his hoodie. "Come on, don't wanna be late, he's not exactly kind in that matter," you fell into step beside Eddie, hooking your pinkie with his, "you'd know, right?"
He would know, Eddie was once ten minutes late for that class and had the door slammed in his face. That was the last thing he could think about though, with the way his heart was threatening to beat out of his chest. Your skin was soft against his guitar-scarred fingertips. He loved the feeling, it numbed any and all other senses.
_
When the last bell of the day rang, sending eager students home, the rain was even worse than it was in the morning. Eddie was glad the classes were over, he'd happily stay in his room for the whole rest of the day; lights out, cigarette hanging from his lips as he mindlessly strummed his guitar with the sounds of rain hitting the roof.
Just as he walked out of the school doors, Eddie found you, your back was pressed to the brick wall as droplets of rain collected on your boots — courtesy of the ridiculously small roof from outside — you held your backpack straps with one hand and your umbrella with the other, wisps of loose hair following the same path the cold wind set. Eddie could see the goosebumps on the naked skin of your arms, he wanted to pull you close, or at least give you his hoodie.
"I thought it would get better, but I think it just got worse," Eddie chuckled, looking up at the dark clouds with a grimace.
"Oh yeah," you glanced at him and then up as well, "perfect weather to stay at home though, isn't it?"
Selfishly, Eddie thought of hot chocolate; of his comfy worn couch, and a cheesy movie on his TV. He thought of sweaters and fluffy blankets; of pouring the sweet hot drink in two mugs, and bringing one of them to you.
"Sure is," Eddie stuffed his hands in the pockets of his jeans, averting his eyes, a ghost of a smile on his lips for the dream that could never be.
He didn't see your smile, or how you looked at him like he held the moon and stars at his fingertips. He did feel your shoulder bumping into his. You had moved closer, now pressed to him under the small roof.
"Are you waiting for someone?" Eddie asked, blinking down at you when tiny raindrops flew on his cheeks.
"Not really," you huffed, raising your umbrella, "I'm kind of on my own."
"What? In this?" He raised his eyebrows, jutting a thumb towards the pouring rain as if you hadn't noticed it.
You just shrugged, "I was gonna wait it out a bit."
"You're gonna wait forever." He pursed his lips, not thinking much about his next words, "let me give you a ride."
"No, Eddie, it's okay, I don't wanna bother-"
"You could never."
Eddie blamed it on the heavy rain when he clasped your hand in his, running with you to the school's parking lot and to his van. The end of his jeans got soaked as he stepped in the puddles and strands of hair started clinging to his wet cheeks and forehead, but he didn't care, you were laughing and holding tight onto his hand and it was the prettiest thing he had ever seen.
A few drops of water were running down the bridge of your nose and to your chin when you threw yourself on the passenger's seat, Eddie following close behind and slamming shut the driver's door.
Eddie gripped tight the steering wheel, the last bits of laughter dying on his lips. He was a little breathless, from the running or from having you in his van, he didn't know. "Where to, angel?"
The sound of raindrops hitting the metal roof was muffled because of the closed windows, making the rain seem much more tender than it was. You let go of your backpack, letting it rest on your feet as you wiped away the raindrops stuck to your eyelashes.
You leaned closer before answering, one hand coming up to brush away strands of hair caught in Eddie's lips.
Any coherent thoughts slipped from his mind when your fingertips touched his cheek, as you slowly tamed his curls behind his ear so you could see his eyes clearly. As simple as it was, it felt intimate in a way Eddie had never been with anyone else, making his body fill with goosebumps from head to toe. The naive side of him wanted it to mean something.
Only once you pulled away, that Eddie could look at you, pupils blown wide and hoping you couldn't see the pink on his cheeks.
"I'll guide you." Was all you said.
Eddie drove out of the school's parking lot with ease, making sure to keep well under the speed limit as he followed your directions.
Somewhere along the way, the silence started to become a bit too loud. Eddie fumbled with his radio a bit, until you startled him by saying, quite animatedly, that you loved this song.
"This one?" He asked, gaze moving between you and the radio. It was a Judas Priest song, one Eddie knows all too well, but didn't expect you to like.
"Yeah, I usually blast it on my player whenever I have to clean the house, until my mom tells me to turn it down," you mumbled the last part.
Eddie chuckled, chancing another glance your way before turning up the volume just a smidge. "I like it too. I uh- I've even played it once, with my band."
You turned to him, eyes twinkling with excitement, "you have a band?"
Eddie had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep focused, knuckles turning white around the steering because oh how you drive him mad in the best possible way. "I do, yeah, we usually play at The Hideout for a few drunks who are there to watch. It's not much but, it's something already."
"Oh, this is me," you quickly pointed at your house, causing Eddie to slam the breaks abruptly.
The house was pretty, he didn't even realize he had entered one of the nicest neighborhoods in town. It was easy to be around you, to get wrapped up in the warmth of your presence; it was easy to forget why he kept you at arm's length in the first place.
You had good grades and popular friends, a nice house, parents with well-paid jobs, and a promising future. You'd no doubt be leaving for college as soon as you graduate, leaving Hawkins behind, leaving Eddie. Because that's exactly what fits in with you, something better than this town, better than him. At least that's the excuse Eddie chose to tell himself to avoid another loss.
"Eddie this is so awesome," you finally continued, "when I was younger I sometimes wanted to have a band too. You know, travel the world, play for different people."
"Yeah well, I'm about as close to doing that as you are," Eddie smirked, turning off his van and slumping back in his seat, feeling rather drunk in the way your perfume got trapped in the stuffy van.
"Bullshit, you can play. Me and instruments definitely don't see eye to eye." You picked up your backpack, hugging it to your chest and making no effort to leave, even though you were right in front of your house.
I can teach you, if you'd like. Is what Eddie wanted to say, he could feel the words pushing against his throat and forming a lump there. Or maybe; you should come see us play sometime.
He couldn't bring himself to say it.
You waited for just a second longer before thanking him and saying goodbye, as if you were asking him to do something, anything that would tell you what this dance between you two was.
Eddie watched you run from his van and to your porch, waiting until you were safely inside your home and he was left alone with just the low tune of the radio.
As he drove to his trailer, something felt missing. Every time he turned to look at the passenger's seat the hollowness in his chest deepened. He felt like a coward for losing his chance, one he would probably not have again.
The rain was falling heavily, making the radio stutter in its play. Eddie fiddled with the buttons until all he heard was static, he punched the steering wheel, almost knocking the old thing out of place, before heaving out a frustrated sigh and slumping back in his seat.
"What's wrong with you, man?" He asked himself and didn't know the answer. But he cursed his parents, for leaving him with a scarred heart. He cursed Hawkins and that damn school for putting a target on his back. He cursed you, too, for making him fall so easily. Mainly though, he cursed himself.

Reading Poldi’s POV on patreon makes me appreciate the dancer background for MC even more since it sort of the opposite of Poldi
Let me explain: Poldi has everything, he comes from an important family, he is inclined to magic, top of his class, etc… but the one thing he lacks, his one downfall is his lack of self control
MC on the other hand has nothing except self control, which is what saves them after the chase, and probably gets reinforced since dance is all about controlling one’s body.
Ultimately what “doomed” MC was Poldi misplaced belief he can fix everything because “he’s the best right?”
Seems to carry over to his adult years with his response to MC in the dream
“STOP, CAN’T YOU SEE I’M TRYING TO HELP YOU”
Sensing a theme here…
Sorry for the long ramble, love your writing <3
I love your analysis anon! (You might be right about that theme...)
When you think about it, the MC and Poldi are opposites to the core. No matter how cocky the MC may act, no matter how aggressive, or calculating, the MC has humble origins and has always had to be disciplined. The MC has been exposed to new skills, new situations, and has had no choice but to adapt and excel. Even in the quest for vengeance, that's a lot of time and patience to look for clues and answers, and the MC has been doing that for years!
I wonder if the years have made Poldi more disciplined?
Anyway, thank you for sending this, and I love to hear y'all's thoughts on the story like this.

new to you [ e.williams ] part 1
Tumblr media
ellie williams x fem!reader
summary; being the new person in a tight knit community, you would think it’d be tough to create any meaningful relationships but oh were you wrong; and it might just be one new connection in particular that will ultimately be your downfall
parts; 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 (ongoing series)
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
You can’t even remember how you felt or how your situation changed so fast.
After everything happened you started to question what you were actually living for. You desperately wanted to find a meaning to the constant suffering and how to find ways to fight it. You were head-strong, not easily defeated by most things. You were a natural born survivor, numb to experiences that would drive normal people insane.
To cut a long story short; you lost your dad, then your mother and not long ago your big brother. Your dad died just before you could comprehend the world around you, having no treasured memories to think back on but it still managed to hurt just the same.
It was scary being by yourself, you had never done it before. You’ve been attacked, stalked, beaten, shot at but you always had your family to help you bounce back from those traumas. It was easy to underestimate loneliness when the world around you was thrown into chaos.
You remember feeling numb. Unable to feel the cold rain pelting yourself as you stood just beyond the gates. Maybe you had trusted this guy named ‘Jesse’ too easily. Following him to the place he called home and entering without questioning his intentions.
You were badly injured, your skin and clothing staining a deep crimson. It was clear the adrenaline was wearing off but you still managed to move. Your eyesight was blurring, the heavy rain messing with your vision. You could hear voices but you couldn’t make out any words. You couldn’t even feel yourself breathing anymore.
The longer you closed your eyes the more enticing falling asleep felt. In that moment you stumbled, the harsh contact with the ground shocking you as you blacked out.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
It has been three months since you arrived at Jackson. Maria took you in when Jesse found you on a patrol, head to toe covered in blood. She reminded you of your mother and Jesse reminded you of your brother. It was clear they had no ill intentions when you woke up to a hot meal and your wounds neatly bandaged. They asked you questions but didn’t press too hard, they could only imagine what you endured before they found you.
Once you were back on your feet you were given small jobs here and there to ease yourself into the lifestyle. It was nice for a few days but eventually it got tedious. You wanted to do something a little more worthwhile. You started to take a massive interest in the patrol jobs asking Jesse about them. Maria was hesitant at first considering the state they found you in but Jesse convinced her to let you both patrol together. Jesse was the only person you really conversed with in Jackson but you knew you were the talk of the town, I mean your entrance really was something.
After patrolling for a few weeks with Jesse, Maria decided to give you a new partner for the morning patrol; Ellie Williams.
You were confused. Since you were still classed as inexperienced on the patrols you thought they’d partner you with one of the older guys. You were more so shocked that Maria suggested it. On a few occasions you have run into them having words, Maria was always the one to shut it down before it got too heated which ends up with Ellie walking off in a huff.
Maria said the pairing was due to both of your patrol partners Jesse and Dina being asked to thin out a horde so you and Ellie were tasked at patrolling buildings closer to Jackson. You knew Dina and Jesse were in a previous relationship so you would share a few words when hanging out in a big group but you never had the chance to talk to Ellie. Jesse would keep you up to date with his friends relationships like his and Dina's or Ellie and Cats; who was now her now ex-girlfriend.
You stuffed your backpack with all the necessities and slipped on a worn out hoodie due to the weather. Exiting the building you stumbled back lifting your left arm up. The suns golden beams were radiating all around just like rays. The glittering of the snow causing it to appear brighter, straining your eyes where it was almost painful. The patrols always started around sunrise. This was to make sure everyone got a decent amount of rest when they came back early afternoon.
It was a short walk until you met up with the other patrol groups gathering their horses and gear. You climbed upon your horse that you were overly fond of, she was a white horse called Blue. You began stroking her mane as Jesse sauntered his way over to you.
"I made the adjustments like you asked." Jesse announced pulling your shotgun from his half-open backpack and handing it over.
"What would I do without you." You replied teasingly taking the shotgun from his grasp. You asked if he could do anything to reduce the shotguns recoil and it looks like he succeeded. You always envied Jesse’s handiness, never being much good at it yourself. "Are you okay with taking the paired patrol with Dina? The last time I heard you were taking some time apart." You glanced over the shotgun once more awaiting a response.
There was a moment of hesitation as he debated on answering, “Yeah I don't see why not, we still talk on a daily basis but we just aren't together." Jesse replied lightly stroking Blue as he met his eyes with yours, "Listen, (Y/N). I'll be fine. Besides I should be asking you the same question about Ellie." He carried on as he nodded his head in her direction. Ellie was casually talking to Dina whilst sorting the supplies out in her bag.
Your eyes wandered back over to Jesse's in confusion, "Why would you need to ask that?"
"I guess I'm not expecting you to make an effort with her. The only people you really talk to is me and Maria, which isn't a bad thing of course!" You rolled your eyes and looked over at Ellie again.
"It's fine Jesse, you don't need to spare my feelings. I do promise to make an effort its just everyone seems so comfortable in their own little bubble.” He gives you a massive grin and pats your leg.
"Glad to hear it! I just hope you understand I'll be asking all about it once I get back." You laughed at his brotherly behaviour and said your goodbyes. You were pretty nervous as you had no idea what to expect from Ellie but you just hope you get along for the sake of the trip.
Once the gate opens everyone sets off on their different routes so you and Ellie were finally alone. She was riding ahead of you having done this route before which gave you the perfect conversation opener.
"So, do you do this route often?" You could see Ellie's body freeze for a second at the sudden question, probably not expecting a conversation out of you so soon.
Ellie turned her head towards you before speaking, "Not really, do you?" You studied her side profile as she awaited your response. The route was hardly familiar but you could've swore Jesse took you along this path.
"Maybe once with Jesse, I can't really remember it though." Ellie hummed in response turning her head back. Your reply was vague but you weren’t exactly focusing on your words right now. The comfortable silence left you with your thoughts, your thoughts being clouded by the girl in front of you.
"What's the deal with you and Jesse anyways? You two seem close." Your eyes widened comically not understanding the intent behind her question. Ellie probably meant nothing by it but you took it as a sign of interest. Then again she could just be asking for Dina; her and Jesse did date after all.
You let out a small sigh toying with Blue’s mane, "I guess you could say that, Jesse was the one who brought me to you guys. I'm pretty sure you remember my grand entrance to Jackson." Upon replying to Ellie's question you had just gotten to the patrol point. You stationed your horse in the garage as Ellie had made her way over to you.
"Yeah that looked rough. Do you want to talk about it?" You paused, chewing on the inside of your cheeks as you quietly thought to yourself. Did you?
Ellie’s presence at the side of your horse threw you from your thoughts as you politely accepted her offer of helping you down.
You both decided to venture further into the building, not straying far from each other’s side. You briefly looked over at Ellie and noticed that she was staring back at you. You jumped in response and darted your eyes to the other side of the room, "Oh! Uh, I don't mind but I'm sure you've heard the story from somebody else." You climbed through the window trying your hardest to avoid the broken glass still present.
Ellie followed and made her way over to the logbook, “Please I don't listen to shit talkers like that." She commented sitting on the desk picking up the clipboard and pen, "Though, can't say I'm not curious."
Ellie/(Y/N) - All clear. -E
You gave her a small smile in response, "Ellie, it really is fine. I’m not going to lie and act like the bigger person when even I would want to know what happened." You sat next to her on the desk and breathed in, closing your eyes and fiddling with your fingertips. You could feel Ellie's eyes on you as she placed the clipboard down giving you her full attention.
You were traveling with your big brother after your mother had been shot multiple times by a group of trigger-happy hunters. That happened around two months ago and you could see the damage it was doing to your brother mentally. Despite this he always managed to keep you well fed and healthy. The day that Jesse found you was the day you lost your brother to the infection. He was bitten by a runner on his ankle due to him running out of bullets and not realising until it was too late. You managed to crush the runner's head with your foot but the damage had already been done.
Your brother looked so defeated as his eyes glazed over the bite. He looked like he was about to throw up as he fought the rising fear of facing the inevitable. Your heart leaped into your throat as you began piecing together the situation before you. Maybe it was the pent up emotions of losing your mom and now being forced to come to terms with losing your brother. You just couldn’t understand what went wrong.
Your brother knew what had to happen next to ensure your safety and shushed you saying it was okay. The raw panic noticeable in his voice as he held your face and looked you in the eyes, "You know what you have to do." Your body went cold as he reloaded his pistol and placed it in your hands. You looked up at him, lips trembling and eyes glistening with tears. You held onto the pistol firmly and hesitantly lifted it up to his forehead.
Your stomach clenched as you gripped the gun tighter,  "I love you."
Ellie noticed your change in demeanor and how you were biting your lip to try and hold back the tears. She began gently rubbing your back in circular motions to calm you down. You took two deep breaths and carried on twiddling your thumbs, "After I shot the gun I drew the attention of another horde in the area I suppose. Luckily, Jesse was patrolling at that time and got to me as I barely had enough ammo to defend myself. Who knew runners were so good at hand to hand combat?"
Ellie gave off a little laugh at that comment realising it was your way at trying to lighten the mood. You looked over at her and smiled, slowly dragging yourself off the desk. Ellie followed along quietly. She had an idea of what happened but it hit a lot deeper coming directly from you.
You cleared your throat slowly shuffling towards the exit, "We'd better head off to our next area. I don't want to disappoint Maria since I'm still new to this patrol business." You explained turning around to face her. It was nice patrolling with Ellie. Sure, doing it with Jesse was equally as good but you enjoyed the change.
"Doing it in pairs is fairly new to me too. I usually did it in groups." You paused and knitted your eyebrows together in disbelief.
"Groups? Why out of all people did you go on group patrol?" Ellie sighed heavily.
"My old man insisted." She looked incredibly embarrassed. Her cheeks were tinted red as her eyes refused to meet yours.
Your face softened noticing her discomfort, "That's actually really sweet." You muttered giving her a small smile before opening the exit door for her. She looked at you warily, expecting you to mock her about her overprotective father figure. Most teenagers would've.
You followed behind Ellie on your horse for about 10 minutes making light conversation until she pointed out an area to station your horses. You went off to take a look in the new building, your curiosity getting the better of you. Your dominant hand was hovering over your gun just in case you encountered any infected but overall the place seemed clear.
You jumped over another broken window that led to the outside, observing the back structure.
You came across a jagged but slim crack present at the bottom of the building that no human could possibly fit through. It looked so old and fragile, crumbling at the simple touch of your finger, "Hey Ellie! Did anybody know about this?" You were laid on the floor shining your flashlight through it as Ellie came jogging up beside you.
Ellie shook her head in confusion and crouched own, "Not that I know of." She squinted peering closer, "Holy shit, it looks like it leads underneath the building."
You hummed turning to her, “Yeah seems like it. The bricks look like they'll come loose if I kick them hard enough." Ellie nodded and stood back. You smashed your foot against the wall forcing all the bricks to collapse in unison creating the perfect entrance. You both smiled at each other as Ellie helped you off the ground and gave you a high five, "Alright, masks on. Better to be safe than sorry.”
Once your masks were fixed on, you and Ellie jumped down. Both your flashlights lit up the space that was now visibly swarming with spores. You and Ellie decided to split up to cover more ground and hopefully you'll find some useful supplies.
Spores were almost always a bad sign so you kept your wits about you, making sure you were checking every nook and cranny for possible infected.
As you entered a new room you came across a skeleton with a bottle of alcohol in its grip. Examining it further, it was pretty clear whoever this was took their own life.
A gun was not too far from its other hand alongside a note left on the dresser. You took the alcohol from its grip and shoved it in your bag. It felt wrong given the circumstances but in terms of survival you can’t be too picky.
Moving over to the note you brushed off the dust that’s been gathering for the past few decades and started reading it.
To whoever finds this,
Me and my wife Judy have been bitten. To protect our kids we locked ourselves in the basement. Judy has locked herself in the room next door. I pray she doesn't allow herself to turn but nevertheless I will not be another victim to the infection.
I've tried to reason with Judy but she says she's going to wait it out. How can she allow herself to turn? I really hope she survives this for her sake but even if she does I won't be alive to see it. I hope she comes to her senses. Soon.
You flipped the note over but that was it, "Locked herself in the room next door?” You mumbled staring down at the writers skeleton.
Your eyes widened as your stomach dropped, “Oh fuck-" As soon as you came to the realisation you heard a monstrous groan bellow throughout the building and a gun going off in the next room. You quickly dropped the note darting towards the commotion finding Ellie in a heated fight with a version of infected that you've only ever seen once.
A shambler.
It charged at Ellie throwing her to the ground with a nasty thud. You knew you had to stun the shambler somehow otherwise you'd have no chance of killing it. You swung off your backpack and picked out the alcohol. Your mother taught you how to make a molotov before she passed. This was brought on when a group of psychos thought they owned the city and killed anyone who passed through.
Must be a pretty common thing.
Anyways, clearly one of them liked to smoke because you found 3 lighters and plenty of roll ups on his corpse. The molotovs you made managed to thin out the group as your mother and brother took care of the remaining few.
You began ripping a piece of the shirt underneath your hoodie, putting your mothers teaching to good use. You lit the fabric preparing the molotov just in time. From the corner of your eye you could see the shambler getting ready to charge at Ellie again which forced your body into action. Using your dominant hand you threw the Molotov leaving it no time to react.
You pulled out your shotgun as it burned the mutated flesh causing it to screech out in agony. You fired the remaining shots trying your best to aim for the skull. It was difficult due to the frantic flailing of its arms but you were persistent, making every shot count.
Noticing its change in demeanor you dropped your shoulders and attempted to control your erratic breathing. The shambler fell to its knees bursting out in a vicious cloud of spores as you took a sigh of relief. You peered over at Ellie who was slumped, leaning against the wall clutching her abdomen in pain.
Your eyes did a double take as you saw most of the glass in her mask was missing. You suppressed a shiver as you caught on to her rapid short breaths. This can’t be happening. You stared in utter fear as Ellie continued to breathe in spores.
In the back of your head you knew there was nothing you could do to help her but that still didn’t stop you from trying. "Oh fuck, oh fuck!" You ran over to Ellie in a panic ripping off her mask and clasping your hand over her mouth and nose as best as you could.
"It’s going to be okay, just please stay calm for me." You urged fiddling with the clasp using your other spare hand, “You can have my mask and I’m going to hold my breath, okay? I’ve done it be-!” Your body was slammed against the floor as Ellie held your mask firmly to your face, groaning in pain.
"(Y/N), d-dont" She stammered trying to catch her breath. You easily pushed her off you as she leaned back in pain again, looking at you in desperation.
You sat there sadness clouding your features as you looked over at Ellie’s weakening state. "H-how?" Your eyes scanned all over her face.
For a second you froze, your face hardening, “You aren’t coughing?” You questioned bluntly. Ellie’s breathing began to slow as she averted her eyes away from yours, “How are you breathing in this shit?”
Ellie shifted uncomfortably, "I'm immune." She managed to get out.
Your mouth snapped shut as you reeled yourself back. Naturally, you felt a huge wave of relief but the feeling of possibly loosing someone else was still lingering.
"Your immune." You repeated standing up. "Well thank fuck for that I almost thought you were dead." You scoffed kicking her broken mask aside.
"(Y/N).." Ellie trailed off gazing up at you as you as you picked her up off the floor.
You looked away from her as you lightly let go of her fragile body and threw both your backpacks over your shoulder, "C’mon, Let's get you back home."
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Once you and Ellie arrived back in Jackson she was immediately taken in for medical treatment. Maria asked you what happened but you gave a very vague response and returned home. They offered you treatment but you always preferred to do it yourself, there were only a few minor cuts and bruises anyways.
Whilst treating your own wounds you began replaying in your head what happened. You regretted being rude to Ellie after finding out she was immune but you had no clue why you spoke to her like that to begin with.
Getting frustrated with yourself your movements became sloppy. You hissed in pain as you further irritated your cut and withdrew your hands from your stomach. You struggled to look at yourself in the mirror hating this version of yourself.
Fed up, you took a deep breath and grabbed the bandages left inside your bedside drawer. Once you were all patched up you decided to grab some food. Anything would do right now. You put on a thick jacket and stepped outside; the snow was a lot heavier now than before.
Walking along the streets of Jackson you noticed how quiet it was. You were never out at this time as you'd usually sleep the rest of the day since the morning patrols always sucked the life out of you. It was undeniably gorgeous. Your favourite part of Jackson has always been the fairy lights that framed the buildings. If you weren't so exhausted all the time you'd watch them every night along with the stars.
Once you had collected your food you headed back home. You could vaguely hear voices on the street ahead of you turning the street corner. You mentally kicked yourself for not recognising them sooner. Walking in the same direction before you was Ellie, Dina and Jesse. The last thing you wanted was to be interrogated by Dina and Jesse but this was the only route that led to your house. You could see the outline of their figures begin to stop in the middle of the path urging you to quickly hide yourself behind a conveniently placed tree.
"What do you need to apologise for?" Dina asked standing in front of Ellie with her arms crossed.
Jesse put his hand on Ellie's shoulder to stop her from walking, "There's no point doing it now, (Y/N)'s always asleep at this time."
Ellie nudged Jesse's hand off her shoulder and tried to barge past them until Dina held her back, "Ellie is there something you're not telling us?" Dina questioned glancing over at Jesse.
Ellie huffed and rolled her eyes, "There isn't! I just want to apologise for what happened." She explained looking back at them intensely.
Dina moved her hands to her hips, "You want to apologise because she put herself in danger to save you? That's the job! You protect each other!"
"What if she's mad at me?" Ellie quietly mumbled causing Dina and Jesse to look at one another.
Jesse put his arm around Ellie to comfort her which she just silently accepted, "Why would she be mad? (Y/N)'s saved my ass a bunch of times and we just laugh it off. You're thinking too much into this."
Ellie shrugged in response, "I guess."
"C'mon, you need to rest. You're not helping your condition standing out in the snow." Dina urged walking the opposite direction. The three of them turned around and began walking towards you. You breathed a sigh of relief as they passed and began walking again once they were out of sight. At least you knew Ellie had no hard feelings towards you. It's a shame you couldn't tell her it was mutual.
Once you got back home you ate your food and fell straight to sleep. You had a regular morning patrol with Jesse which started at 6:30am and you knew you’d need as much rest as you could get after today’s events.
After your well needed slumber it was finally time to set off on your patrol with Jesse. You two were riding your horses through the heavy snow until you came to a stop. You jumped off your horse and surveyed the area for any infected. Jesse came up beside you with his gun out, taking the lead.
"So (Y/N), care to elaborate on yesterday's antics?" You rolled your eyes at his question and walked past him.
"There's nothing to elaborate on, we were just jumped by infected. Ellie got hurt so I finished them off and we turned back." There was no way you were going to tell Jesse about Ellie's immunity. It was still a lot for you to digest and besides there's no way he'd believe you.
Jesse shrugged and stopped in his tracks, "Hey, if that's all that happened then I believe you. I only asked because Ellie was acting weird about the whole thing."
"It's fine. It was a rough day for both of us." You reassured him looking back with a small smile.
After looking around and finding no infected you both headed back to your horses. After 5 more hours of patrol, you both finally headed back to Jackson.
As the gates opened you were met with Dina and Ellie who must’ve gotten back just before you. Your two horses were passed off to the stable hands as Jesse strolled his way over to them with you following closely behind. "How'd it go ladies?" Jesse beamed causing them to cut their conversation short and look over in your direction.
Ellie looked down at her shoes once she saw your figure approaching behind Jesse's. "Hi guys." You smiled warmly at them nodding your head in the process.
"Hey you two, we were actually waiting for you to get back." Dina grinned, "I'm sure you've heard of the dance happening this weekend?" You glanced over at Jesse furrowing your eyebrows slightly.
Jesse laughed nudging you, "Well I was going to drag (Y/N) along with me."
“Any excuse to throw me around it seems, what a gentleman.” You joked earning a giggle from both Ellie and Dina. You four were walking through the town but you couldn’t shake the feeling of Ellie’s eyes on you. You didn’t have the confidence to face her which was an unusual new feeling for you.
Once you all made it to the bar Dina turned around to face you, "All jokes aside I think it'll be really fun. Everyone deserves time to chill out and have a few drinks."
You gave off a laugh and began fiddling with your fingers in embarrassment, “I can’t say I like the idea of voluntarily making a fool out of myself but- " The corner of you mouth quirked up breaking out into a wide grin, “- Ah, what the heck you’ve twisted my arm, I’ll be there.”
You were kind of regretting that now standing in the middle of your room feeling completely out of your depth. Saying you were nervous was an understatement. Call it the fear of the unknown but you weren't sure what to expect.
You were born after the outbreak and your family were constantly on the move. Having Jackson to settle down in was a blessing but because of past events you still felt uneasy. Picking an outfit to go to a dance was alien to you and acting as if everything was fine was hard.
It was the day of the dance and you were looking at your collection of clothes in disgust. You were hopelessly scanning the clothes in your closet expecting one item to catch your eye. Shaking off the heavy feeling in your stomach you changed into a pair of blue jeans and a low-cut shirt. You glanced over at the clock and realised Jesse should be at your door any minute now.
You sat on your bed for five minutes until you eventually heard him knocking, "Hey (Y/N)! You ready?" You slowly got up off your bed and took a deep breath. You walked over to the door opening it and staring back at you was Jesse. He looked you up and down with the biggest smile, "Let's get this party started, shall we?"

PEEKABOO cutie + geordi rant under cut
I love geordi n cutie so much aaahhhhggg1!!1!!1!1! Geordi/Cutie's playlist has only 8 videos (the last time i checked), and in comparison to the other characters playlist's, this is nothing, so therefore we can only know so much of Geordi and Cutie, unlike with other more popular characters such as David/Angel, or Sam/Darlin’.
I hate it when people only look at them through with black and white thinking becaude they're both different, complex, AND flawed in their own ways together and seperated. Right off the bat, we can tell that Geordi and Cutie are two VERY different people by personality, with Geordi being much more skittish, while Cutie being more forward, But as videos progress, and more audios get released, it grows more and more obvious that those said differences impact their relationship and ways of handling certain topics/situations.
We can concur that Cutie finds comfort in listening to Geordi's thoughts from the audio where Geordi comforts Cutie in the post-inversion audio, while not shown in this particular audio, it's obvious that when Cutie isn't/can't listen to Geordi's thoughts, they worry about what Geordi may or may not be thinking and what he might not be telling them, even if theres nothing to BE told. We can tell from later audios after Cutie and Geordi talked about boundaries a few times, that Cutie IS genuinely trying their best to respect Geordi's boundaries, but is unable to. It's also shown that Cutie doesn't see the ptoblem with listening in on other people's thoughts (pool party audio). I don't think Cutie is doing this in a morally evil way, but i feel as though they are genuinely struggling with respecting others boundaries and picking up on what might make people uncomfortable.
With that said, I feel like Geordi has problems with communication, and I feel like if they communicated (heavy on Geordi), it could've atleast helped avoided some issues if they (again, main spotlight on Geordi), if they had just communicated and talked to eachother about what they need and what makes them uncomfortable CIVILLY. Early on, after it's revealed to Geordi that Cutie is a telepath, Geordi finds Cutie listening in on his thoughts again without his knowledge and consent, which, ultimately leads to an "argument", quotation marks on "argument" because throughout the video, from what we can hear, Cutie is asking questions and relevant concerns while the entire time, Geordi is upset with them; This is the first time this has ever been brought up, and Geordi basically goes out on them. I feel like this tells us that Geordi doesn't know how to properly communicate his uncomfortability, and his emotions, bottling these up instead of expressing his worries to his partners.
WITH THAT SAID, i think it's important to understand that they're both lacking different qualities that are essential to keep a relationship stable and healthy. These two are EQUALLY flawed, and I don't think only one of them should be blamed for their downfall.

Watching Two Heroes again reminded me of something I haven’t really seen talked about a lot, but
All Might Keeping Secrets and Self-Isolating Led to His Downfall
Tumblr media
Obviously, right? Everyone and their mother’s said this, and it’s clearly meant by the story. But I think David Shield is the best example of this, and I haven’t really seen the Two Heroes movie mentioned when having this conversation. This is my explanation of this movie being the epitome of this idea, and the time where I believe All Might learns from his mistake — even if it’s too late for him to change the course of his narrative.
Tumblr media
The movie clearly indicates early on, by All Might himself, that David Shield, his “best friend” and sidekick from his college days has not been informed of One for All, and All Might intends to keep it that way. Deku, ever the audience lens character for the world of My Hero, questions it, to which All Might answers it’s to keep his friend safe.
Tumblr media
This is shown to not be the case. In fact, by not telling his friend about One for All, David, someone who is good and concerned about his friend, turns to villainy out of desperation to save him. If All Might had simply told him about how his power works, and that he’s passed the torch on to Deku, then David wouldn’t have had as much need to worry. And this is something that All Might had several opportunities to reveal, even over the course of the movie itself. Most especially when David’s checking Toshinori’s vitals and his quirk levels. (Which, I have no idea how you would even trace something like that, but I digress.)
Tumblr media
Then, to add salt to the wound, All for One targets David regardless of his knowledge of One for All. Just his connection to All Might as a former sidekick was enough to put him in the line of fire. All Might’s secret-keeping didn’t protect him from anything, and instead turned an already bad situation worse. In the end, presumably David Shield is put away in prison, because when we see Iron Might in the manga, only Melissa is pictured, not her father, and if David had been available I refuse to believe that he wouldn’t have had a hand in the suit’s creation. All Might’s time limit in his muscle form is also shortened once again.
Tumblr media
Ultimately I believe this specific situation is what led to him eventually urging Deku to not make the same mistake he did, in not telling anyone about One for All.
Tumblr media
Also, the specificity of Wolfram being drawn this way after being defeated, gaunt and steaming, paralleling someone else we all know and love, felt very intentional. I don’t have more to say about it at the moment, I just thought it was interesting and that I’d point it out.

who am i, darling to you (ii)
surrender to the sound
The low hum of the engine came to life as you found your seat on the plane.
"So, let's go over what we know. The unsub targets honeymooning couples, but the question is, how does he manage to catch them off guard?" Hotch asked
He was seated across from you, and you pretended not to notice his eyes occasionally drowning into yours.
You flipped around your case file, while your other hand was clutching onto your favorite book.
You know it inside out: it was your grandmother's favorite, and apparently your mother's as well.
Some of the pages still smell like the incense she used, and her hair oil.
It’s a relic, or time capsule you think. One of bedtime stories, sleepless nights, and memories just out of reach.
"Given the lack of signs of struggle at the crime scenes, it's possible that the unsub is either surprising them or has some form of control that keeps them compliant." Reid chimed in sitting next to you.
You two got along really well, he was the first one to strike a conversation with you since joining the team. Few days into your reassignment to the team he approached your desk.
You were reading: And then there were none.
He complimented your taste and went on to analyze it himself. "You know, one of the most intriguing aspects of the book is how it delves into the psychology of guilt and remorse. Each character in the story is haunted by their past actions, and their guilt ultimately becomes their downfall."
And just like that he became one of your best friends.
Emily offered you and Spencer some coffee as she took the seat across from you. You smiled at her; all of them were like family to you. Emily and Penelope, the sisters you never had.
And JJ like to the mother always wanted.
Sometimes you look around and can’t believe you have people around you, who love you, and want to spend time with you.
It was nice, everyone on the team was really welcoming.
Even Hotch, well as welcoming as he can be.
At first you would get a brief nod from him, and sometimes when you delivered a profile correctly, a slight raise of his eyebrows and some stolen glances which you kept close to your heart.
Recently though you’ve been getting occasional smiles, few compliments, and brief moments of laughter. But quick as they come, quicker they disappear.
Morgan leaned forward from his seat next to Hotch, "But how does he target his victims in the first place? I mean, we're talking about well-prepared honeymooners, not easy targets."
"He could be monitoring their activities before attacking. The unsub might be studying them, learning their routines, and finding the perfect moment without raising suspicion." You said, it felt almost scary to you, the way you're able to dissect their behaviors, putting yourself in the mind of a serial killer, profiling, and going over the most heartbreaking cases.
You hunt, just like they did.
And the patterns he left on the women are still stuck in the back of your head. He hates women.
(That much is clear)
"This type of power play, especially if it were done post-mortem, suggests a level of sadism." You continued. "These women most likely represent a source of his resentment."
“So we're dealing with an unsub who targets couples, targets the women specifically, and is able to go into their rooms undetected." Emily said, "Should be easy enough."
“Emily and I can go to the resort, ask for their security footage. There’s gotta be something we can find out.” Morgan said.
“Since you have experience with sexual assault cases you and Reid go see autopsy results. See if these marks were post-mortem." Hotch said, looking over at you and Reid.
You were relieved you weren't paired with him, you overthought every decision around him.
And you could barely look him in the eye, your words often died out at the tip of your throat: impossible to convey words of much intelligence.
The air in the coroner's office was thick.
Of course temperature wise it was cool, and airy. Detached and void of anything warm. the victims bodies told so many stories.
"These markings: they're deep stab wounds. They were also done post-mortem," Dr. Fields stated. "They are precise, not hesitation wounds—he knew what he was doing from the beginning."
"He seems to be targeting their femininity. This stems from a deep hatred for women," Spencer muttered.
"Or a woman," You interjected.
"You think these victims are surrogates for someone else in his life?"
"The time and effort it takes someone to inflict these wounds takes determination. This sort is indicative of someone affected by past trauma."
"What can we know about husbands?" Spencer asked, redirecting the focus to the examiner.
"Whereas the women died from strangulation, the men were drowned, and it's assumed they were drowned in their hotel bathtub," Dr. Fields responded
"So he takes his time with the women, gets it over with with the men?" Spencer asked.
"The time of death for the male victims was hours earlier than their wives. Maybe he wanted to eliminate the competition, wanted to enjoy his time alone with them?" You suggested.
ʚ ═══・୨ ꕤ ୧・═══ ɞ
"Strauss wants a briefing on this case." Hotch announced walking into the makeshift briefing room. It was a tiny station in a small town in Florida.
Emily snorted, "So she can question everything we have so far about the profile?"
"I'm not sure, but it sounded urgent that she wants to talk to the whole team." Hotch replied by opening the laptop and starting the call to Quantico.
"Hello agents." Strauss said as the call came to life, holding up the case files. "The director called, he wants to consider you going undercover. Due to the high popularity of this resort, and the timing in which these murders are being committed-"
"We might need to understand his patterns from within the environment he operates in." Hotch finished for her,
A collective pause filled the room, and their words hung in the air, an uneasy silence passed through the team.
The team hadn't gone undercover in years.
"Undercover?" Morgan broke the silence, "This team hasn't gone undercover for years, Hotch and I are the one of the only ones who's gone undercover, but never as a team."
"Going undercover as a honeymooning couple could give us an advantage. It might put us right where the unsub is likely to strike." Emily responded
"It could help us observe the surroundings, identify any potential patterns or anomalies that we might miss from an investigative standpoint." Reid said, agreeing with Emily.
"This only calls for a couple since the unsub is targeting couples. We need two agents to pose as husband and wife." Strauss said
You sucked in a breath, the thought of going undercover sent shivers down your spine, you've done stimulations before, but the real thing? You push the feeling down as soon as it bubbles up.
You only joined a year ago surely they would want someone more experienced, someone who's shown themselves proved themselves to the team more.
But before your mind could fall deeper into your thoughts the sound of Hotch's name coming from Strauss stopped you. "Based on your experience and being Unit Chief the director wants you at the forefront of it." Hotch nodded, looking at the rest of the team.
"I would like to take Agent Prentiss since she has experience with Doyle-“
"Actually Agent, I believe it would be better if someone else went in with you."
And suddenly you were the only one in the room, a pair of uneasy green eyes met yours, Hotch raising his eyebrows ever so slightly.
And if you were crazy enough you would think he looked worried.
"With all due respect Ma'am I don't think she had enough field experience for this."
"I am concerned about that, however it has been brought to my attention that our unsub has a type and they all have a resemblance to-“
"To me" You finished for her. trying to sit up straighter and slow the beatings of your heart as you meet hotch's eyes. "If we can use my cover as bait, I would know what to say and how to be careful around him-"
Hotch looked over at you, calling out your name. "This is very risky, and dangerous not to mention doing a covert mission like this won't be easy."
“I understand Sir, but-"
“I don’t want any of my agents going in a bait, the profile isn’t complete yet. We don’t know what we’re looking for.” Hotch responded, eyes still boring into yours.
“Agent Hotchner we can’t wait until there are more victims, I’m sorry but it's the director's orders.” Strauss said, “We’ll send over the alias needed and with the information you have now it should be a simple task." And with that Strauss signed off, leaving only you and the team looking uneasy.
"This could work, Aaron,” Rossi said, sitting off to the side scribbling absentmindedly on his notepad.  “While you two are undercover we can gather more pieces to the profile with your insight."
"Let's go over the victims, affluent couples honeymooning, madly in love, never leaving each other's sides."
You only caught snippets of the rest of the conversation. You were too busy wondering why for the first time Hotch was avoiding you, his eyes were glued to the board not sparing you a second glance.

I feel like I've seen every Bluelock boy paired with a very cute, very bubbly, and chill gf/reader before, but I haven't seen any of them paired with a cool and competent or even bossier type. Are there any guys you think of liking that type??? Or maybe just deserve that type to be kept in line lmao 🤣
nonnie!! 😳 NONNIE UR BRAIN I’M GIVING IT A THOUSAND KISSES UR SOOO RIGHT FOR THIS!!! i guess it doesn’t really show with the fics i’ve uploaded so far – which is a damn shame, i should fix that – but i am absolutely all for readers who are just… out there, ya know? they’re prickly, or easy to anger, or sardonic as all hell, or way too clever for their own good or yes yes, bossy<3 i eat that shit UP like it’s my last meal. this is not to say i don’t enjoy sweet, bubbly readers (bc i do!) but the type you describe just… scratches a certain itch iykwim 👁️👁️
i think one of my first posts ever about blue lock on this blog (cw. mid writing LMAO) was exactly about this. obviously most of the blue lock guys are only extreme egoists when they’re playing soccer, but i do think that aspect of their lives will ultimately start to bleed into their personality as they grow up/go pro. so having someone who’s just like “yeah that’s great and all but if you won’t make it to date night i’ll leave your sorry ass” is just. so sexy to them like?? they haven’t gotten their ego knocked down a peg in a while so i think they’d be drawn to a partner like that askdhxnbz idk if i’m explaining this very well but as far as i’m concerned all blue lock boys deserve an unhinged reader lol 😤
THAT BEING SAID!!! >:))) i have a top three list of blue lock men who i, personally, would love to put in their place and encourage anyone out there to do so as well LOL
1. MICHAEL KAISER — this cocky motherfucker ugh need i say more 🙄 the urge to censor his name was real strong but i persevered still cannot believe i’m (sadly) attracted to this horrible, horrible man. he’s sooo insufferable and just so obsessed with himself like he unironically refers to himself as the emperor when i tell you there’s nothing i want more than to make this man beg on his knees i mean it – what a pretty sight that would be hm? <3 all his past lovers probably treated him like he was god’s greatest gift to women (HE IS NOT) – and by now he’s not only used to it but comes to expect it – so when he meets you and you’re like “mm you’re kind of a prick leave me alone thenk yew✨✨” he’s just. so scandalized LMFAO suddenly he’s the one chasing after you and vying for a shred of your attention oooohh yes that’s exactly what he deserves how it should be
2. ITOSHI SAE — listen he might be my precious babygirl now but i used to hate this mans guts like no other and that little resentment still lives on in my heart in the form of wanting this man’s downfall to be a woman like don’t tell me that’s not the hottest thing you’ve ever heard. he’s just so single-mindedly focused on soccer – japan’s treasure and what not – and thinks he can get away with being an asshole because of it but you place down your foot and tell him to cut the bullshit or you’ll find someone who treats you better (AMEN SISTER) and suddenly he’s grappling with the reality that shit he might just fall apart without you yes girl make him suffer
3. OLIVER AIKU — i couldn’t not include the resident fuckboy here mmmm the possibilities for him are endless and each one more delicious than the last. he might not be as insufferable as the others but he still thinks extremely highly of himself, especially when it comes to his way with the ladies. typical “oh no i don’t do relationships” kinda guy who can show you a good time for a night before dipping in the morning – and you just don’t want that. so you reject his advances, say you’re not interested and move on, but for some reason, oliver can’t. literally physically wounds his pride when he crawls back for a second chance but you don’t budge, still wary of him due to his past behavior unless he can show you otherwise. and the way he scrambles to prove himself as trustworthy to you? god tier groveling from a man YUMM

Sometimes I see people sleeping on the fact that the one who actually ruined Hanseok was Hanseo. Vincenzo and Cha Young were the ones that humiliated him in his own game but Hanseo was in fact the one that made him afraid to die an anonymous death when he almost killed him and the one responsible for his ultimate downfall when he rebelled and attacked him when Vincenzo was paralised fearing for Cha Young's life and with the trackers.
To think that if Hanseok had treated Hanseo with care he might have had the most loyal partner kinda makes me go insane 🧍‍♀️

Epic: The Musical and Linked Universe
So I’m sure someone else noticed this already but Epic: The Musical gives off Linked Universe vibes. So I’m honor of the Circe Saga releasing next week, I thought I’d put in my 2 cents about what songs I associate with each Link (+some non-canon LU Links). There’s a bit of another LU-Links-reunite AU building up in my head but there’s no real direction yet so have this brain vomit instead:
- The Horse and The Infant - Warriors. So this goes into my headcanon that Warriors is the hero of 10,000 years ago. No I have no foundation for that theory. It just IS. Anyways he’s fighting the Yiga with an army of Gerudo and Hylians. He has to kill the Yiga leader’s son, who’s the new incarnation of Ganondorf. The kid is an infant. I don’t think I need to explain more but yeah.
- Just A Man - Hyrule. This song is the ultimate Hyrule song for me. It explains his character in my Relinked AU too. It’s just… it’s Hyrule’s song. As for the story based off of Epic: The Musical itself, I think he’s running from some sort of war in his Hyrule (either a civil war or a war with Calatia). The details aren’t that clear yet, other than he kills someone and feels bad about it.
- Full Speed Ahead - Wind. Need I say more?
- Warrior of the Mind - our first non-canon Link: First! I Imagine First and Hylia kicking ass together during this song
- Polyphemus - Okay, we’re getting into true AU territory with this one, but this is Twilight’s song. He’s trying to piece together the Mirror of Twilight again and accidentally angers a Hinox or other large monster. With him is Dusk, Rusl (or maybe Colin), and Dusk is stabbed at the end. That’s all I’ve got for this one.
- Survive - Time. And this one has a Story. Ganondorf attacks Time’s castle town with an army of Gerudo and monsters. Time and the Sages fight him off but at the last second he breaks free and slaughters everyone, including Time. However, just as the song ends (the point where Polyphemus falls asleep), Zelda rewinds time and sacrifices herself to seal Ganondorf into the Mirror of Twilight. This is the moment the Downfall Timeline is created too.
- Remember Me - Our second non-canon Link, Shadow! He, Four, Dot, and others are fighting this monster. The Four Sword shatters, Shadow takes charge but in the end wants to do the noble thing. Oh and he gives his name as “Link” and not Shadow (or Shade, as Four’s beginning to call him in my headcanon)
- My Goodbye - Legend and Fable have a falling out. Legend’s sick of feeling used because he’s the hero, so he decides he’s had enough.
- Storm - Our third non-canon Link, Age! Basically a Tears of the Kingdom scenario except Age and his Zelda (Fauna) never went down below the castle. He never loses his arm and Fauna never goes to the past, but they have to evacuate Hyrule to the sky with the help of the Light Dragon who clears the way.
- Luck Runs Out - Sky and Groose. Idk what went down in Sky’s Hyrule but they’re having a disagreement about how Sky’s handling it.
- Keep Your Friends Close - Our last non-canon Link, Spirit! This one also has some story behind it to make the song fit. Idk why, but he and his Zelda (Phantom) have gone to speak to their Wind God, Zephos (the same from Wind Waker) who gives them a challenge. They fail and Spirit gets separated from the group. I imagine it might have something to do with Ganondorf who’s still stuck under the receding Great Sea.
- Ruthlessness - This absolute bop goes to Four. It’s also a follow-up to Remember Me, so that means the monster Shadow refused to kill is Special. Related in some way to Fierce Deity special. So the story here is after the encounter with the monster, Four, Shadow, and others (I’m debating giving Vaati a redemption arc?) decide to try to get help from the god Fierce Deity. Except Deity is pissed because he thinks Four is a weakling when it was actually Shadow who took the blame for what happened to the monster. Fierce slaughters all of Four and Shadow’s men, Four seals himself into the Four Sword to distract/hurt Fierce, and Shadow escapes but feels really guilty.
That’s all I’ve got for now. I’ll add the Circe Saga when it comes out.
