kind of funny whenever (and this happens quite often) someone older than me is like "yeah the world aka US politics went to shit in 2016 it wasn't this ridiculous and bizarre before aaaa it feels different" because whether i Would agree or not is hampered by the fact that i was roughly 11 at the time. like i'll take your word for it boss o7 bc i was a zygote in terms of political awareness. my ass was not paying attention enough before so i have no previous era to compare it to. i was thinking about hex bugs or something that whole time idk

#of course ive been learning more about politics (current and past) since then and have more technical knowledge #but this post is about like. the feeling/experience of it yknow? how politics FELT rather than how they were #because politics kinda seems ridiculous to me in general but i figure the whole '2016 = first election you followed' thing might have a #teensy bit of bias there. just a little #and when my parents and grandparents and auch have said it i assumed it was probably a liberal-not-paying-attention thing #but ive had multiple professors who are about as left-leaning as one can be while still being vaguely capitalist (well. ig i dont know for #one of them. she might be a socialist? anyway) express the same thing so ive been thinking about it some more #I'll never know because i can never be there as an older better informed me but i still wonder sometimes how this like. may or may not have #fried my brain (and many others my age) growing up in that era. like anti-sjw stuff was the first political stuff i Actually consumed. #which is NOT GOOD FOR YOU. anyway my point is i think it probably messed me up but i don't know and may never know. thats all

gaang + fire nation girls and their opinions on yellowjackets??

okay well i've talked before about how katara suki and ty lee watch yellowjackets together as well as assigning each character their yellowjacket counterpart, so check those posts out too, if you want!

aang: he knows katara loves it, but he can't watch it, he finds it too upsetting and creepy

sokka: he enjoys it but katara can't stand watching it with him because he's always shit like "well if they had just listened to ben they wouldn't be in this mess" or "they should be nicer to nat" and he's killing the vibe -_-

zuko: it gives him nightmares but the good kind so he keeps watching. he's a little bit obsessed with adult shauna and adult misty they are like camp icons to him

toph: appreciates the soundtrack and also sokka's very biased recaps wherein each episodes mostly details what fresh misery his best friends nat and ben (and occasionally simone) have had to endure this time

suki: she loves the aesthetics, the tone, the suspense, the humor, the music, and most of all, the hot babes. i think she is a vangirl and a lottiegirl first and foremost so s2 was a beautiful gift to her. also she'd be lying if she said she hasn't read a fanfic or two

mai: she likes it but she thinks shauna should have, at the very least, kissed jackie's corpse, if not outright fucked it. ear eating was a good start and all, but doing your dead bestie's makeup is honestly not even weirder than what the average mortician does on a daily basis, so kind of disappointing to be honest.

azula: doesn't watch it because any tv show that isn't on hbo is too pedestrian for her refined tastes, but if she did she would be so obsessed with taissa she would be the number one taigirl and she would ship taishauna like her life depended on it!!!!

ty lee: it is one of her favorite tv shows ever because it involves lesbians eating human flesh in a bacchic frenzy and what can be better than that. she's a shaunagirl because she thinks shauna is the most unhinged and therefore the sexiest. she's the type of fan who is constantly coming up with fakakta theories about lore and where the show is gonna go next. if suki can constantly spam the yj groupchat with taivan fucking nasty in the lake 5k words then ty lee is at least allowed to predict that antler queen is actually a literal spirit of the wilderness who is personified by their very faith in the supernatural, right?

katara: a show depicting various women struggling to deal with their trauma in unhealthy unappealing destructive ways, toxic teenage girljocks who take soccer way too seriously, exploring taboos in relation to the colonial assumptions of society vs the constructed bogeyman of "the wilderness" that exists in the white supremacist imagination, and nuances of patriarchy vs relational modes of knowing through both absence and presence is exactly the kind of narrative that katara would be compelled, nay, transfixed by, even if she does have some well-deserved critiques when it comes to the show's execution, especially some of its blindspots when it comes to the issue of racialization. hence why she is the biggest yj head in this house (which is why i saved her for last). like she has a whole side twitter just for yj posting. she loves all her milf children equally, except she might have a teensy bias towards taissa for the simple fact that she is the best at soccer. katara is one of those fans who studies the soccer game in the pilot as a way of gleaning insight regarding the characters, because actually she's a really big nerd when it comes to things like that. she didn't like nat at first because she'd show up drunk to practices and that pissed her off, but then nat shared that strategy with kevyn tan's son and she decided that she was okay. stuff like that. despite the fact that she and suki have gotten into screaming matches debating jackie's sexuality ("i don't understand how you can think she isn't a lesbian how else are you supposed to read her character" "maybe she just kind of ...sucks? ever think of that?????") and also nat's (katara being of the opinion that nat is straight is actually so bravely correct of her, in this instance, despite suki's totally sympathetic objections that if nat is straight then how are she and lottie gonna partake in the milffucking?? hm?????) and also ben's ("no straight man would be carrying all those condoms with him for a weekend work trip" "suki not everyone is gay you can't just assign homosexuality to everyone you think is hot" [...] "okay i stand corrected just this once"), she is extremely emotionally invested in every single one of these characters, and seeing any of them get hurt or die makes her feel physically ill (yes, even laura lee). aang's like "you know, if this show is getting bad for your mental health, you don't have to rewatch every episode five times to pick up on nuances and easter eggs and potential foreshadowing" and katara's like "but if i don't then how will i be able to properly characterize them for my greek mythology AU novel-length fanfic???????" because she is totally normal about the show and everyone can agree on that.

Hello jade, beloved 🥰 so 2 big, tall men I love vs each other and 2 loud, annoying bias wreckers vs each other? Got it. 😂

So yuyu v gyu? Ugh, I LOVE loser, gamer boys. Which would suggest yunho. And I DO think mingyu is a teensy tinsy bit too perfect. But ughhhhh, I think it's mingyu 😒 haha I think yunho maybe a tad too young/immature for me atm so that immediately gives gyu a leg up in this internal debate i'm having. To reuse a description for gyu from earlier: He's gorgeous. He can cook. He can build things. He's artsy. He's such a big man. Listen, kim mingyu's got a lot going for him lmao I LOVE yunho. But I just think he's maaaybe not quite right for me in terms of an ideal type.

Now hyuck v hoshi? Ironically, I feel like haechan is actually the more mature one of these two people 🤭 he did have to grow up fast tho and ik hoshi plays it all up for the cameras. He's very ON everytime we, as fans, see him. And he's definitely got this softer, vulnerable side to him that we get glimpses of when he's drunk. But to again reuse a description for haechan from earlier: he's a softie with a heart of gold who has a knack for pushing the buttons of the people he cares about (aka, he's good at being a little shit, but deep down, he's got this big capacity for love). And he's someone I find very endearing bc of that. Hoshi can be that way too, but he's more clumsy with it. And, I think in part bc of his introversion, has less confidence with it. They're both big family people and make sure to take care of them and prioritize them, which is definitely 👌🏻 a big fan of that. And both hoshi and hyuck have ambition in spades, and while I admire that in both of them, not my favorite quality in a partner bc that typically means: workaholic. I didn't think this would get so long. But I GUESS the deciding factor here is just that I think haechan is a little bit funnier than hoshi to me. And humor's an attractive quality. So I'm going with haechan. 😅

     NOT PERFECT? NOT PERFECT? Ridiculous. Anything that Arsenio made was akin to a masterpiece to Nanami’s taste buds. Ever since the other man began making him different kinds of bread, there has been little desire from Nanami to go out and seek bakeries to satisfy his craving for that soft, warm, delicious goodness. Actually, he really didn’t go out much at all anymore in all honesty. What was the point in doing so when Arsenio’s baking and cooking was like the heavenly ambrosia of gods? Okay, maybe there was a BIT of bias in there, but it was just a teensy bit. Not enough to completely ruin Nanami’s subjective ways of exploring food and how it was prepared. Reaching out, he took that bread in hand, the smell of it already enough to fill him with contentment. ❝It’s hard to believe you weren’t following a recipe the other times that you made me things. You really have a lot of skill, Arsenio. I mean it. I think that I could learn from you as well.❞ Taking a bite, he chewed slowly as he often did; savoring his food and allowing its flavor to spread across his tongue before giving a proper assessment.

     Sweet, yet not overly so. Everything was just right from the fluffiness to the texture. This was their first time making this kind of bread? Nanami was floored. ❝This is…delicious. Sometimes when it comes to new recipes, you never know whether it will be exactly to your liking. Some call for more sugar, some for more flour… But this one is a keeper.❞ He held what was left of the bread away, looking upon it with a sense of awe before he turned his focus to Arsenio. ❝I know this was your first time, but if you ever plan on making this again, could you allow me to assist you?❞ He wanted to learn too, especially in regards to how Arsenio went about his prep work. Although Nanami was quite skilled at all things involving food, there was still much he was willing to learn from others if the opportunity arose.

I'm curious, why do hypmic fans hate the anime adaptation? Is it bad or something messed up? Oh, I also hope pararai anime done well :"D

hello vanie! if i’m honest, i (somewhat) enjoyed the hypmic anime more than i disliked it, but i truly believe that’s my bias talking! (lol) i was really happy to see my faves moving and grooving, but i personally did not like the different plot points/story of the adaption nor did i appreciate the new side characters added while the newer groups (bat and dh) were just…not there? the pacing was also a little odd at times…

i think a major complaint of the anime was of how much it deviated from the source material (manga/voice dramas) despite the fact that hypmic’s intro to their canon story is pretty solid/well written for what it’s worth, so it didn’t really add anything new to the lore in itself. also, some of the characterizations are a teensy bit off, but overall, it’s just a silly little show to watch as a longtime fan lol?? it feels as though they’re attempting to cater to a completely new audience of fans, but at the same time, are trying to keep up with familiar lore that older fans are well aware of. hence, the sporadic pacing.

all in all, i did enjoy hypmic’s adaptation, but like all fans, wished it was done better and perhaps with a little more care. personally, i give it a huge pass as it was done during earlier covid times, so it suffered from the restrictions going on worldwide. i definitely think the animation is awesome given that reason though! really love the visuals and everyone’s overall design, and i really hope to see the newer characters added in another season if anything.

i also really hope paralive’s anime does less of this and sticks to its roots!! their manga seems to be doing quite excellent at this, so i hope their anime is similar in that respect. i’ll love these animated boys either way though, haha.

Daichi

He’s a hugger for sure! If you’re on your phone, or reading, or doing anything before bed he’s snuggling up behind you and resting his head on your shoulder to watch what you’re doing - he’s nosey like that. Anyways, being the big spoon is a very convenient cuddling position for that, and he gets to wrap you up and hold you close <3

Through the night though he slowly scoots down off his pillow in his sleep, so when you wake up his face is nuzzled into the middle of your upper back with his arms still squeezing around your midsection so tight you know you’d have to wake him up to get him to let go 😭 he’s also for sure a light snorer, but it’s ok he makes up for it by being cute or whtv 🙄

Asahi

Another spooner! He’s not particularly bias to being the big or little spoon but he just can’t face you 😭

There’s a few reasons: 1) it makes him freak out and it’s like he can feel your eyes on him even if they’re closed. He’ll be constantly peeking one eye open to look at your face and he’s half scared he’s gonna open them and you’re gonna be staring at him like 👁👁 LMAO

2) the breath on his face tickles too much and will eventually start to irritate him and he gets pouty cause it makes it tough to sleep

And 3) what if he’s making a weird face in his sleep and you wake up to see it 😭

So spooning for the win it is

Sugawara

I don’t think he’d be a big fan of being held, it makes him feel too claustrophobic and he’d feel kinda bad moving you off of him if he had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night :( I also think he tosses n turns a bit while sleeping so holding him wouldn’t be the best option anyways, however!

He likes touching/lightly intertwining legs - one reason is because you can kind of get away with it from any angle but still find a comfortable position that suits you, the other reason is because his feet get cold in the middle of the night and this is the easiest way to steal your warmth

Nishinoya

Ok ok, so I know it’s cliche - but I do think he’s a teensy bit too excited for bedtime cuddles! Not in a restless way, he’s just too excited with the act of actually cuddling you, like every time. Day cuddles are different! When the two of you have some alone time and he’s snuggled up with you on the couch, leaving a bunch of kisses (his favorite are Eskimo kisses), periodically grabbing your face so your lips pucker and leaving a dramatic kiss there after he talks about how cute you are (“oh my god you’re so adorable I could crush you ☹️🥺”), and then squeezing you so tight sometimes your back even cracks, it’s fine! You’re not trying to sleep so it’s just sweet Noya doting on you - but you can see how this would be a problem when y’all are tryna get some shut eye 😭

Solution: back to back, but touching so you can still feel each other’s closeness <3, bonus: every time Noya becomes aware your guys’ butts are touching he giggles and wiggles a little until you remind him it’s time to sleep 😭

Tanaka

Ok but he needs to have a hand on your ass and not even in a sexual way 😪🤚🏼 he just grabs on naturally or rests his hand there and sometimes lovingly pats it when he kisses your cheek before either going back to falling asleep or being on his phone or smth :)

He also loves burying his face in your neck, it just feels so soothing to him and he also finds your smell so relaxing and makes him feel all warm inside! Like when he sees you after a long day he loves wrapping you up in a big hug and leaving kisses in the crook of your neck and burying his face there cause he just missed you sm <3

Yamaguchi

Very much like Hinata he also adores being intertwined with you!! He finds it particularly comforting with your face buried in his chest or neck while he has his legs wrapped up with yours. He thinks it’s the best position to lean down and press a kiss to the top of your head (his favorite kind of sweet kiss), which he always does right before he feels himself drifting off to sleep.

He also likes rubbing your back/neck this way until you fall asleep, or while you talk about anything you wanna talk about. Waking up this way is also his favorite, and if you guys have moved in your sleep, you bet he’s pulling you back into a hug. He periodically squeezes you in his arms, leaves feather light kisses to your shoulder, runs his hands up and down your back, sure you probably won’t be asleep for much longer now with all this movement, but he just can’t help it with how sweet you look sleeping! Don’t worry though he’ll keep up the soothing while you wake up and talk about your dreams and what you want for breakfast :)!

Tsukishima

Not much of a cuddly guy throughout the day but when bedtime rolls around you bet your ass he’s expecting some kind of physical affection. His favorite is when he lays on his back with his arm out so you can nuzzle into his side, and once you’re all comfortable he wraps said arm around you to pull you in close.

Your favorite is when he runs his hand up and down your side or draws little designs with his fingers on any exposed skin. His favorite is when you bring your face up to rest in the crook of his neck or rest your head on his chest, any light kisses you leave or the breath that puffs out of you and hits his neck every now and then never fails to give him goosebumps and make him blush.

Kageyama

I don’t think he’s particularly ~stiff cuddling with you but I definitely think it’s not his forte when it comes to bed time! He just finds a comfortable spot - usually on his side or back - and that’s that! He’s found it and is gonna be out in approximately 2 minutes, but he does love feeling you in bed next to him :(

A good compromise he’s decided is reaching his hand out next to him him so he can hold onto your hand while he sleeps, or being the little spoon! It actually feels super comforting to him to feel you all cuddled up to his back and keeping him warm no matter if you’re bigger or smaller than him <3 he also loves the way he has to pry your arms off of him when he has to get up in those early mornings, or the way he feels your face squish up against his back sometimes, he just loves you.

Hinata

He definitely gets hot in his sleep but he love love loves cuddling with you, so you’ll always start off wrapped up in each other somehow. Usually face to face with your legs intertwined cause he thinks talking to each other about any and everything is a good way to wind down before bed - and I mean anything. Sometimes it’s just him asking you odd questions he’s been thinking about recently before one of you remembers you can google it

But no matter how you two fall asleep at first, you always wake up clinging onto his sprawled out body (probably because he’s kicked the blanket onto the floor and you got chilly in your sleep) or far away from him with all the blanket to yourself as he peacefully snores beside you <3

Yachi

Play with her hair and she’s KNOCKED 100%! She also loves either holding you or being held, but there’s got to be SOME kind of holding going on for her heart to feel full <333

She’s also the queen of surprise hugs from behind once you’ve been together for a fair bit and she feels more comfy being publicly affectionate with you! And if you do the same to her it never fails to make her smile or cover her face cause she’s blushing from surprise

“(Y/n)!! You startled me!” And now you have a very excited & giggly gf 😽😽

Kiyoko

I personally see her as a pretty religious back sleeper so the most ideal position is you in her side or you laying between her legs while she holds you and your head is resting on her chest. PERSONALLY she prefers the second one but she leaves it up to you <3

She just thinks it’s most ideal how she could reach down and trace her fingers lightly on the side of your face; or play with your hair if she’s able to; or rub your neck, back, and shoulders to ease any stress from your day. She’s a big giver of private affection and thinks it’s so cute when you’re so tuckered out you she wakes up with a little drool on her shirt. Not to mention your weight and warmth is super comforting to her ! And even if she wouldn’t admit it, she likes being able to use not wanting to move and wake you as an excuse to get 5 more minutes of you cuddling with her.

What’s every kpop fan’s goal in life?

To meet their idols, attend a concert, and attend a fan sign, right?

Some others... They aim higher than that.

And you’re one of those people.

In fact, you love k-pop so much that you found your career took a whooping turn and you ended up majoring in language, for the very simple fact that you could apply to join an entertainment company and be a staff/writer, the latter which makes you feel the proudest of yourself.

But life….

Life can be super mean sometimes. And you learn this the hard way, when you get rejected by SM entertainment - your first and actually the only choice because you are a major Shinee fan and life is just NOT fair at all!

One way or the another, after multiple applying, you finally get a good job in another company - Starship Entertainment.

Now, Starship was definitely not one amongst your top 5 agencies. But you always try not to let that affect your work - and over time, you come to love your job.

Especially when you get assigned as Monsta X’s writer and interpreter.

You find the members of the group very very appealing, all of them having their own charms.

Hyunwoo, who goes by the name Shownu and has an appetite that makes everyone giggle; He is such a soft-hearted soul and you really look up to him because he is always kind enough to give you a hand if he finds you doing something like lugging some boxes around, and would give the prettiest eye smiles when he gets a compliment.

Hoseok, who goes by the name Wonho and is probably the person you would sacrifice everything for; because of the heartwarming smile he has to offer, the way he continuously asks you to go through the comments he received on his vlives, and would politely request you to review what fans are saying about him on his posts.

Kihyun, who is very much Korean down to the bone with his extremely polite mannerisms and the way he always makes sure the staff - you included - are always eating as well; even if it’s a show about them. And also, the way he had once asked if he was your bias, and looked shocked to hear he wasn’t - and then continued to do things to get your attention and ask “Am I your bias now?” in the middle, like an idiot.

Jooheon, who also occasionally comes to you and asks for mini English lessons, and then gets bored after learning two or three new words - and then instead likes to chat about random things like the cats he owns, and your line of cacti which he, for some reason, is obsessed with, and your chats with Jooheon usually end with a compliment battle, and he always made you feel proud because he always says that chatting about normal things like that always inspires him a lot too.

Changkyun, who you consider as your bias wrecker because he keeps his own cool, stays in his own bubble and get things done, and doesn’t brag; instead, he’s very gentle, always the first person to notice if you’re sitting out in the lounge by yourself racking your brains for new content, and uses you as a guinea pig for testing out his lame new puns or pickup lines.

And then… Hyungwon, who doesn’t talk a lot when he’s with the rest of the group, but you found to be startlingly talkative when he’s doing a solo vlive or with only a few members like either Shownu or Wonho. In fact, you remember being wide-eyed when he continuously chatted with his fans on a vlive for a whooping 2 hours, and you can’t forget the precious and warm smile he had on his face when you said you liked seeing him so lively and talkative.

“I have a lot of things up my sleeve which you probably don’t know that much about, [Name]-ah.” He had said that time, and sometimes, you can see the way his eyes would filter through the staff during shows and land on yours, and smile at you.

And finally, Minhyuk, who was your absolute favourite out of the entire group, your bias because he gets along so well with everyone, always making everyone - including the staff - laugh, and would not hesitate to call anyone out if they’re doing something they shouldn’t. It makes you giggle, the way he would approach you in the middle of a variety show shooting they’re doing and ask if you were the writer of the show and how you had the audacity to make them walk around like lunatics. He acts like a crackhead like that, but you’ve grown to be so attached to him when you realized that, beyond his bright personality, he also is an insanely sweet person; You found this out when you had mentioned applying to SM entertainment because Shinee was your favorite group ever, and Minhyuk -even if he asked how dare you talk about other men in his presence - met up with Shinee while hosting a show and got the members to sign, and even got Kibum, your Shinee bias, to sign you a message inside their recent album.

Undoubtedly, Minhyuk was your favorite, for a good reason.

But still, to be put frankly, Hyungwon was the member that has your heart, for the simple reason that he was so unpredictable and has his own sense of humour and personality.

Since you got assigned to work with Monsta X, your life has been a messy tangle of fun, a normal day being you having a chat with Hyungwon and then getting interrupted by Minhyuk who would have zero filters and ask “Are you two dating?”, which causes the two of you to flush red for no reason, while Kihyun would overhear this and say “Huh?! You’re picking him to date but you don’t think of me as bias material?”.

The cycle would be endless, with Wonho laughing while watching the entire scene unfold, while Jooheon would join in with Minhyuk while Shownu would butt in and say “Minhyuk-ah, we have to go back to practise now tho,” and Changkyun sticking his head out from his dorm room and saying he still has 5 more minutes to finish the session of his favorite game.

You’ve grown to love this cycle and it doesn’t feel like a job, doing something you love with good people to work with, and life has been even easier after you got a dorm room within the building.

So, even if you had a roommate - and she’s nice, just not too close - things at Starship has been working out well for you.

Your daily chaos started simmering down a little once the pandemic hit, and all of the staff got confined to their rooms for work.

Because some of the shows you’re writing the scripts for are getting approved easily, you feel lucky to be one of the few staff who is now allowed to go alongside the members when they’re out for shows.

The times when you’re working from your dorm room, you feel so tired - perhaps missing the chaos you were so used to for the past couple years.

One day, you get a kakao chat from Hyungwon, asking if he can come over to discuss something with you.

It’s early in the morning - 8:15 am, and you’re half awake but you let him in, trying your hardest not to yawn too much in front of the member you considered the most attractive from the bunch.

Your roommate, Dawon, was kind enough to clean up the room a little bit when you said Hyungwon was coming over - and you said it on purpose because you knew she called Hyungwon her type and admits to having a teensy crush on him even though she knows it won’t work out anyways.

Hyungwon is wearing a caramel sweater and grey baggy sweatpants, and it always warms your heart to see the boys dressed in comfy clothes because they have to spend so much time wearing clothes that probably look good but not feel as comfy.

“Hyungwonnie, come on in!” You greet him, and he reacts with a chuckle and he always does that ever since you started calling him by that nickname after the day he said you should use casual language with him.

Hyungwon gives a little nod to your roommate in acknowledgement, and waits until you draw the curtain separating the room, before he speaks.

“I have a magazine shooting next month, and these are the set of questions they’re gonna ask me.” He says, putting the big envelope he had in his clutches on the top of your desk after he takes his seat. “I need help coming up with answers.”

Hyungwon was usually one of the few members who always comes to use the opportunity; the artists are free to ask the writers for help with answers they’ll give for their interviews, and Hyungwon always makes full use of the opportunity, and Shownu and Wonho occasionally drop by too, as well.

You’re always happy to be asked for help, but today, you find yourself sweat-dropping at the thought. You were so sleepy, the only reason you’re not dozing off is because you had forced yourself not to sit down.

“Why?”

“What?”

“You’re usually always excited when I ask for something like this, so why today?”

Ouch. Sometimes, much like you can read the boy’s faces and know what’s going on, they can sometimes do the same for you, too.

“Well, you see....”

“Have you been getting enough sleep?”

Double ouch. You knew the boys - at least, most of them - were good observers, but you didn’t expect Hyungwon to catch on so easily.

“I actually do get enough sleep, but these days, I feel extra sleepy for an hour or so after I wake up.”

This makes Hyungwon chuckle, putting the papers back inside the envelope and turning back to you.

“Welcome to the life of every human being. You sound like you’ve been babied too much.” He has to say, and you watch the way he gets up from his seat and places the envelope inside one of your drawers.

“Let’s get some breakfast.”

“W-What?!”

This makes the male raise an eyebrow, glancing around the room as if he was unsure if it really was you who said that.

“You’re acting as if we have never gone out for a meal together.”

“Well…” You say, because you’ve actually gone with him a couple of times over the four years you’ve been assigned to them.

That was probably because the boys enjoyed ordering in mostly, and eating at their own free times.

Anyhow, it was only a few times, so it definitely did surprise you.

“Okay. Where do we go?”

“I’m in the mood for some eggs and sausages, do you have anything you want to eat?”

“Hey, we’re gonna split the bill okay!?” You hurry to race Hyungwon outside, who goes out in a very knowing way, one that was like a deja vu of the times when he’d butt in when you’re trying to innocently pay for your delivered lunch tray and he’d ask to tab it over to him.

Kihyun was right, he really was different from the way most Monbebe actually looked up at him.

At the restaurant, Hyungwon takes his mask off only after you two are seated at one of the sectioned booths and have ordered your food.

“The pandemic isn’t good, but this is the only thing that I enjoy about it.” He admits, eyes going over to the lack of people inside the place which would usually be filled to the brim with office workers trying to grab a quick breakfast.

“This pandemic has made me a sleepyhead like you.”

“Hey!”

You find yourself smiling so hard around Hyungwon because during breakfast and after you had forcibly paid for you two, on your way back when he offers to buy you coffee - and even remembers your usual order - and the next two hours he spent with you while you helped him write answers and edit what he wrote, it really does not feel like he’s a celebrity at all; but more so as a close friend who makes you feel warm in ways you’ve never felt before.

“Why?”

You snap out from your little trance and go back to typing your script on the laptop, when he interrupts you.

“Why are you smiling? What kind of madness of a show are you writing now?!”

“Hey! Don’t accuse me of writing madness when your Monbebe loves it so much!”

“Yah, that’s too much! Our Monbebe will love us anyway even if you show them us being normal!”

You giggle, because really. When has Monsta X ever been normal?

The next day, right after you wake up, you’re working on the itinerary for Monsta X’s upcoming vacation show - a little too late, you had to admit, and that too, when you’re feeling so desperately sleepy like you’ve been feeling lately every morning.

Dawon had gone out to grab breakfast with some of the other staff, and you’re munching on your melon bread, knowing well that the espresso shot you’ve had just a while ago won’t last you for more than 15 minutes.

And it doesn’t.

In fact, you’re actually snoring when your phone rings loudly, making you lift your sorry face up from your laptop keyboard and answering as soon as you pick up the phone.

“Yes, Manager-nim? I’ll send you the itinerary in fifteen minutes!” You say the impossible, because your task in barely done, and you had a feeling you’d fall back onto the laptop keyboard the second the manager hangs up the call.

The sound of familiar chuckling makes you raise an eyebrow and glance at your phone, horrified to see Hyungwon’s name on the display.

“I need it in ten minutes, not fifteen.” He says in a heavy voice, and it makes you huff in embarrassment, glad that he couldn’t see you.

“Very funny, Hyungwon. What did you need?”

“Nothing. Just wanted to wake you up.”

“I was up!”

This makes him laugh yet again, and you sigh, typing on the keyboard as you think about what good excuse you can say.

“If you were up, you wouldn’t have thought I was your manager.”

You let out a little groan, connecting your headphones to the phone so you could multitask while speaking to the male.

“Really, now, Hyungwonnie, what did you really want? Is there something you wanted to ask again?”

“No, I really just called to wake you up.”

“Well. Isn’t that sweet of you.” You say, sarcastically.

The mini banter and sarcastic comments continue for about ten minutes, by which you’d even finished up the itinerary.

So, even if he did laugh at your sleepyhead behaviour - as if he could talk - you made sure to thank him before you go out to take the printouts and finish off your task.

And then, that becomes a ritual.

Hyungwon calls you every day at 8 am, right when you’ve signed in for work and are about to head to get some coffee.

He makes small talk with you, talks about little episodes he’d had, and listens to your ideas.

After the first week, you don’t feel sleepy even if you don’t get the coffee; and you don’t even get sleepy after he hangs up.

Every day, it feels like he’s prepared something new, because he makes you laugh so hard that your sleep completely vanishes.

In fact, after a couple of days, he searches up English songs on Genie Music and sings, butchering up a lot of the lyrics on purpose - you know it’s on purpose because Hyungwon has a really good pronunciation when he tries.

One day, you’re butchering up the lyrics of a song along with Hyungwon while you’re writing talk segments for Monsta X’s comeback showcase. Your roommate has been giving you funny looks recently, especially after she asked who was calling you every day and you couldn’t lie and told her it was Hyungwon.

The sudden sound of your door flying wide open and a blonde Lee Minhyuk barrelling into your room makes you stop your singing.

“Oh. So it was you, huh.” He has to say, making himself comfortable on your beanbag chair, and drawing the cloth partition between your room when Dawon - your roommate - keeps staring.

Really, Minhyuk does not know what filters are supposed to be.

“What do you mean?” You ask, and from your headphone, Hyungwon hears his friend’s voice, so he dismisses the call after saying he’ll see you again later.

“So it was you Hyungwonie has been getting up every morning to sing his heart out, huh?”

You stare at him, baffled. “Well, he does sing some normal songs, but he mostly sings crack-”

“He usually never wakes up on his own even if he has schedules, and now he has an alarm to call you every day? What, are you guys dating or something?”

“Yah, Minhyuk, what are you saying!!” You hiss, horrified, because the cloth partition does little to block out sounds from the other side.

“I always tell people if they like someone, to stop being so obvious and just ask them out. It’s easy!!”

“It’s not easy and omg shut up!! He’s just calling me because he’s waking me up, he’s just being kind!”

“Hyungwon never wakes up for us, he’s never kind to us, then! And he’s always still sleepy even if he wakes you up, because he goes straight back to bed after he wakes you up!”

You sigh out loud in frustration, shaking your head. “Come on. What did you want, Minhyukkie?”

Minhyuk gives you a knowing smile before he shakes his head, handing you the binded notebook he had in his clutches.

“You’ll give me a read-over, right? I told you about the radio-show I’m gonna start hosting in a few weeks, right? The concept is clear, but I have some topics I want to talk about and I made some scripts about how I could continue the talk.”

“You got it. I’ll need some time, though, how does Thursday sound?”

“Perfect. Thanks!” He gives you a flying kiss that makes you laugh, and then he’s out as fast as he came barreling in.

You expected Hyungwon to stop the calling after the confining to your room rule gets lifted up and you’ve started to go to the office for work.

But he doesn’t, and he sounds as if he’s never been as prepared before as he is now.

Even when the comeback is near and he must be practising into the late hours of the night, he never misses a single day.

A few days before the comeback, you find him having lunch with Shownu, and it’s the first time you’ve seen him in a while - and you hadn’t seen his new hair till then too.

For the first time in the four years you’ve been assigned to work with Monsta X, you take a good look at Hyungwon.

A really, really good look.

At first, he hadn’t noticed you, and while you’re refilling your water bottle with chilled water, you notice the way he’s smiling a little while he listens to what Shownu is saying. The way he uses his hand to brush the fringe of his hair he’s dyed blonde is attractive for the first time - and you’d always thought he was a really, really handsome young man… But this is the first time he looks so attractive that you feel like you’re in a daze, staring at him until chilled water fills up your bottle and pours on your fingers, finally catching your attention.

What gives?

The little yelp you let out makes both Shownu and Hyungwon glance over at you - noticing you for the first time. Hyungwon’s eyes go wide, the top of his palm going up to cover his mouth.

“Ah, [Name]-ah. How are you?” Shownu calls over to you, ever so naturally, and you greet him with a smile when it looks like he’s motioning for you to come over.

“I haven’t seen you in a while. Are you doing well?”

“I’m doing good, Hyunwoo-oppa. You guys must be working super hard for the comeback, right?” You say, glancing at Hyungwon, and for the first time ever, you think he’s actually… blushing ?!

It makes you flustered, thinking about what Minhyuk had talked to you about, while he accused you two of dating. Really, Minhyuk had no filters, it never fails to drive you insane sometimes.

“Yeah! You can expect a lot, please do support us a lot!”

You turn to look at Shownu, beaming at his friendly and charming smile before you excuse yourself and head back before you felt your head would explode.

Now, what the heck was that all about!?

Whatever it was, you were definitely going to blame Minhyuk for this!

It absolutely surprises you when Hyungwon doesn’t fail to call you, even the following morning.

You guess you had just imagined it in your head yesterday when Hyungwon looked flustered to see you.

Stupid Minhyuk! It was all in your head after all.

“Now that today’s dumb song segment is over,” Hyungwon says, after he sings a butchered up version of Pretty Please, “I’m gonna sing a song from our album!”

“Oh? Will that be okay?”

“Well, you’ll hear the album preview later today, so, why not?” He has to say. “It’s one of my favorites from the album.”

And then, he sings up to the second chorus of Beautiful Night - a song you fall in love with instantly, because the lyrics are so beautiful and Hyungwon sings as if he’s doing so with his whole soul. It almost makes your eyes teary, and you can barely tell him that you love it, before you have to excuse yourself with a little lie.

Since when did Hyungwon’s voice sound this emotional? It’s been over four years, but his voice has always been the same, beautiful voice as before. You open up Genie music, playing some of the older albums, listening to Hyungwon’s voice in the songs, and you feel like you’ve missed out this side of Hyungwon completely, this madly romantic side of him that sounds so sincere that it makes your heart race.

What is going on, seriously…

As the days pass by, the little tingle in your heart whenever you see or hear Hyungwon keeps on getting more and more painful.

In fact, by the end of Monsta X’s three-week promotions for Fantasia X, hearing Hyungwon singing songs for you become almost unbearably sad.

Despite having to wake up earlier, or even having to excuse himself in the middle of getting his hair and makeup done, he makes sure to call you - even if you’re sitting and listening to him when he’s in the same room as you are in.

You realize you can’t hold out your expressions if it’s in front of him, so you make sure to get up and go away somewhere when Hyungwon’s call arrives every day at 8 am on the dot.

It’s a warm Saturday morning, and you’re on your bed, your earpods on and listening to Fantasia X on Genie when Hyungwon’s call of the day arrives.

Today, it’s different.

Usually, he sings a trot song, or a really ugly version of an English song with the hopes of making you laugh so much that your sleep completely vanishes.

But today, he doesn’t say anything and immediately starts to sing soulfully; today, he sings Newton, one of your absolute favorite songs by the group, and…

The way he sings it is so, so sad .

Something inside your heart feels like it is burning, and unknowingly, your eyes brim with tears, because…

All the things Minhyuk had told you, all the things you’ve been thinking about Hyungwon lately, all the little glances he sends your way and then looks away when he sees you’re watching…

You feel your emotions going haywire, and your wishful thinking makes you start crying and you pray to god that Hyungwon, who’s singing the chorus so beautiful and sincerely does not notice.

It’s almost unbearable, and you take off your earpods and have him on speaker, thankful that he doesn’t notice you’ve reached for tissues to wipe your tears.

Since when did I start feeling this way about him?

How can I think this way about one of the members I work for?

Why does Hyungwon sing as if he’s singing just for me, and only me?

Why does it feel like we are never able to meet eyes now?

You have so many questions and no answers, and your hands are shaking as you try to press record on your phone because he sounds so, so beautiful and your crying is not helping you in focusing on his sincere singing.

It is at this moment that the door to your room flies open, and your roommate, Dawon enter the room, then freezes when she sees you crying.

“What’s going on?!”

You’re only able to hand over the phone to her, and mumble a little “Please record it for me” through your sobs.

Dawon looks very confused, raising an eyebrow when she looks at the receiver and sees that it is Hyungwon, on the call.

At that moment, Hyungwon wraps up his singing, clearing his throat a little and speaks for the first time today.

“[Name]-ah.”

You find yourself sniffling, glancing at Dawon who looks visibly upset now… and you can’t even blame her…

“[Name]-ah.” He calls your name again, and this is one of the things that makes you sad in regards to Hyungwon, because… He is a member of Monsta X, one of the manlier groups in the industry for sure, but… He’s so gentle and sweet, a kind-hearted soul, and he does not lack in anything, as he has proudly claimed so.

Even the way he calls your name out is so gentle that it makes more tears stream down your face, and you’re almost scared at how to answer whatever Hyungwon would ask from you.

“[Name]-ah. I have something I have to tell you, in person.”

Your eyes meet with Dawon, who now looks wide-eyed, and you were sure you would probably look the same.

“I… I have to tell you this in person, so, if you… If you’re willing, would you like to… go for dinner with me today?”

More tears stream down your face, and now you know you can never look Dawon in the eyes either so you bury your face on one of your pillows, heart aching too much to do anything else.

“Hyungwon-ssi.”

Dawon speaks into the speakerphone, and it makes you glance at her, wondering what she was going to say.

Hyungwon replies with a loud ‘Huh?’ in confusion.

“Hyungwon-ssi, I’m sorry, but [Name] is outside and she left her phone here.”

Dawon looks at you, lips pressed into a thin line. You feel so uneasy, and it felt like Hyungwon felt the same, because he starts to stammer.

“Wh-Wha? What?! If [Name] wasn’t the one who answered, then wh- Whaaaaa!” You hear a loud whine before the call gets disconnected with a quick mumble of “Sorry!”.

Dawon hurls the phone at your bed, and leaves the room without a word, and it pains your heart so much that you feel like you’ll die.

A text message pops up on your phone a little while later and seeing the text makes you feel a little dizzy, even.

‘If you’re freely going to allow other people to roam through your phone even, I don’t think I have any other choice but to come to see you right away.’

What?

Wait, does he mean-

You hurry to grab your phone and iPad, wiping your face as best as you could and going out of your room. You find Minhyuk and Kihyun using the Xbox in the lounge, so you quietly take a seat near them, greeting them and opening up your iPad without another word.

“[Name]-ah, why do you look so weird?”

“Yah, Minhyuk, how can you say something so rude?!”

You shake your head and give a weak smile at the two, opening up your notepad and leaning against the couch.

A moment passes by, and Minhyuk moves closer to you on the couch, so close that you actually move a little back as well.

“What?”

“I finished my game with Kihyunnie. So. Why? Why do you look so sad? Did Hyungwonie hurt you?”

Now, you’ve been doing a good job of not crying since you got out of the room, but seeing Minhyuk’s worried face and then remembering Hyungwon’s words - along with Minhyuk hitting a bullseye right away… All of that combine together and it makes you start to cry again.

“Wha? Hey?!” Minhyuk looks very startled, and he usually never looks surprised like he doesn’t know what to do, but today he looks like he’s at a dead end, and you allow him to grab your hand and tell Kihyun he’ll be right back, before he hurries to drag you over to the other end of the lounge near the vending machines.

“Yah, what is going on with you lately? Hyungwon really said something mean to you, didn’t he? Sheesh. Acting like he’s in love with you and then making you cry like this? I didn’t expect him out of everyone to behave this way.”

The more Minhyuk spoke, the worse you felt, and you’re barely able to ask him if he could be kind enough to leave you alone for a second when you hear a familiar voice calling your name.

“[Name]-ah…. Minhyuk-ah?!”

You and Minhyuk glance up to see Hyungwon approaching you, and you hurry to take your hand away from Minhyuk’s clutch.

Really, Hyungwon couldn’t have caught a worse timing.

Minhyuk shoots you a sad look, then gets up from his seat, goes to say something to Kihyun, then the two of them leave while Kihyun glances at you with a worried look on his face. You can’t get yourself to look at Hyungwon, so you’re looking at your hands, fingers fumbling while Hyungwon stands in his spot in front of you, not saying a single word.

More tears fall down your face when you remember Minhyuk’s words - and how wrong was he to assume the worst from the sweetest person you know, and it pains your heart because you knew if you looked in his eyes, you wouldn’t be able to stop crying.

“Why?”

Hyungwon says a single word, and honestly, that was the only thing you didn’t have an answer for.

Why were you crying?

You didn’t know.

Why can’t you look at Hyungwon?

You had no clue.

Why did Minhyuk know right away?

That too, you didn’t know at all.

Why can’t you answer him?

You had no reason.

So instead, you find tears streaming down your face, and you wish you could leave, but you felt like you owed Hyungwon at least this much, to hear what he had to say even if you felt like something was cutting through your heart.

“Stand up.”

It’s the first time you’ve heard him ask you to do something in that voice, an angry, impatient voice you’ve never imagined you’d ever be on the receiving end for.

“[Name]-ah.”

You hum in response, eyes on the ground. Hyungwon lets out an exhale and you can feel your hands trembling because it’s while you’re looking at his shoes with an aching heart, that you realize something you’ve been wishing so hard was not true.

You were in love with Chae Hyungwon.

Out of completely nowhere, so naturally.... You were so madly in love with Chae Hyungwon; so much that looking at him now would be too much to take, now.

“You heard everything I said, didn’t you?”

It makes you look up at his face for the first time today, and it pains your heart.

It paints your heart, because he’s wearing clothes with a lot of creases - something he’s been wearing to sleep, and he has on a beanie that covers most of his messy-looking hair, and he’s looking at you with puffy eyes and a frown that hurts so much to look at.

You couldn’t bear to look at him anymore so you shake your head in response. Hyungwon looks visibly disappointed, like he knew right away that you were lying. You think he has something more he wants to say, because his lips part a little… And then, he lets out a sigh and shakes his head as well.

“If you are this burdened by how I feel, then…” Hyungwon’s voice trails off, taking a step back and then turning around. You watch the way he walks out of the lounge without a word, and if you felt like you’d never been more hurt before, you were completely wrong, because nothing pained your heart more than watching the male leave like that, as if he had so much to say and couldn’t…. Just like how you felt while you sink back on the couch and cry your heart out.

And from that day onwards, Hyungwon doesn’t call you again.

I get that the author most likely had good intentions while writing the post but I disagree, that's absolutely what is implied, consciously or not. These ideas don't exist in a vacuum, and lesbians being exclusionary and detrimental to the community is a harmful stereotype that persists through people letting this sort of thing slide.

Also seperate to the issue of whether or not that sequence of events would happen or whether it was Just An Illustrative Story So It Doesn't Matter Don't Get Butthurt,, it raises legitimate issues that are real problems to combat right up until the lesbians were needed to be a scapegoat. It lends legitimacy to the final statement: lesbians have power over gay men on the axis of "purity and lack of male privilege" and are driving apart the community. In this story: The Trans community is targeted based on transphobia - true , Bi community is targeted on the basis of bi-erasure - true, it then posits that gay men are being removed and isolated from the community based on the burden of having and benefiting from male privilege. The idea that lesbians have the upper hand because gay men have """""male privilege"""" and so therefore don't deserve to be in the LGBT community is a completely backwards power dynamic and also something that no lesbian has ever fucking said? It's a non issue!! A straw man. And time after time these strawmen are named as "lesbian schools of thought". We're left with this pervasive idea that lesbians are trying to gain the upper hand and lack all solidarity surrounding experiences of homophobia and transphobia.

The reality is that in terms of numbers lesbians make up a very small part of the LGBT community and therefore it's incredibly easy for people to use them as a group to "other" and attribute undesirable traits (like transphobia) in order to allow themselves as non-lesbian cis allies to distance themselves from their own bigotry and claim an automatic moral high ground.

It's been proven time and time again that transphobia is a symptom of being cis not "a lesbian" and yet the amount of trans positive posts that include some kind of hint that "lesbians are on thin fucking ice" is absurd and that just doesn't happen with any other SSA group?

My point being that it's completely unfair that the lesbian community is painted this way, it makes lesbians feel isolated from the rest of the community and I can only imagine how hard that makes thing for trans lesbians who feel as if they won't be accepted in either group. It's unfair and frustrating.

Lesbians are singled out because it's a comfortable archetype for presumably well meaning people to fall into without examining their bias. Lesbians fall into a cross section of homophobia and misogyny, and face heavy handed criticism from within our own community. It costs absolutely nothing for people to leave lesbophobia out of their trans positive posts but they still end with that little d*ke hating flourish all the fucking time. As a lesbian, I think it's reasonable for me to be a teensy bit pissed off about that.

We, on the other hand, just saw a movie about toys being alive and being complex beings. We’re at a teensy bit of a bias here.

And don’t you dare tell me that you wouldn’t potentially forget Woody. Yeah, maybe as an adult who just saw a movie about living toys, but if you were a preschooler/kindergardner who was suddenly given these toys by an older kid you barely knew, you have every chance of being just like bonnie. This is technically an extension of “what if the purrgils yeeted Thrawn + Ezra into alternate sci-fi universes” idea. But you have no idea how much I want Thrawn to be in B5 land. Or how much I wanna write an AU/fusion where Thrawn is commander of B5 as a sort of political assignment the Chiss know he would suck at and inevitably fuck up because they have nefarious plot reasons for wanting it. Good thing Eli is there to help Thrawn keep his position. The Chiss were a neutral party during the Earth-Minbari war so perhaps everyone is hoping that having a Chiss in charge after the unfortunate losses of the previous stations will help prevent bad luck and smooth things out by not having any bias for either Earth or Minbar.

But the main idea is just the Chimaera arriving in B5 space (probably in Sector 14. yknow). Thrawn meeting John Sheridan. Cause like they have sooo much in common and I think about it all the time. Thrawn interacting with all the crew and ambassadors and being a pilot as well as a commander-esque figure! Kosh is Ezra’s dad/mentor figure now. Thrawn hates this. Thrawn is losing his mind at yet another galactic level threat amassing its forces and infiltrating/manipulating every species it can get its hands on and the various governments around the galaxy just fighting each other and/or ignoring it and the fact that Sheridan cant get EarthGov to listen (same hat! same hat!). The two have a lot to talk about. “What do you mean ‘telepaths’?” “I mean there’s like people who can read minds here, like the Jedi!” Thrawn having uncomfortable Vader flashbacks and steering clear of Talia and Lyta and Kosh and the PsiCorps and getting Ezra to stick near him every time Bester is on board. And Bester can’t do anything to Ezra cause this kid is Too Powerful. Thrawn being a useful asset in the War by studying what little is known about their enemy’s culture and art! Thrawn and Sheridan admiring each other’s values and tactics and respectful command! The B5 crew and Chimaera crew hanging out! Ezra meeting the Rangers and having a community he can train with! Marcus is Ezra’s dad now? (Trans dad? Trans dad!) Garibaldi not tolerating even an iota of Thrawn’s nonsense but he has to put up with him like everybody else. Londo and G’Kar desperately trying to get Thrawn onto their sides and him just being tired of all this shit. Thrawn being immersed in a world with so much to learn and a fight that he can win, even if it isn’t his galaxy and his people he’s saving!

Basically Thrawn being in a well-constructed and well-wrtten sci-fi universe that I adore with all my heart!!!

I’m not gonna say this all set into place with Sheridan’s “I’ll keep it [the art] in a place of honour” line (S3E4) but basically. BASICALLY. I wrote a teensy bit on the idea the other day but it’s rough. I just have many plot bunnies in my head that I NEED to write ;n;

"Yes sir," Ivanova responded. "To be fair, is it really that hard to believe? We've got the Shadows on one hand raging a galactic war on every member of the League with pawns on Earth, which, may I remind you, we have ceceded from, we have Delenn, who by all rights shouldn't exist either, telepaths all over the place-- and need I remind you of the wonderful mess that is Babylon 4? Go back a few hundred years and all of this would have been crazy. I'm sure the universe has time to throw in some interdimensional travellers." She punctuated her statements with her classic nod and smile, that look she threw Sheridan in the face of the familiar nonsense they dealt with every day now. He thought with the galaxy growing ever crazier she would have grown used to it, but perhaps habits died hard. He had to say, it kept him grounded in a way. Ivanova, while not always right, was constant. Sheridan hummed. He thought again to that voice, those many voices, whispered in the night from an old friend. He is arriving; the man who shares your heart.

First listen time! Again, I don’t expect anyone to actually read this, I’m just kind of determining how I feel with it.

1. Un Village: I like the play in pitch he did here; sort of like Young. And the chorus has a very cool groove. It’s so melodic and relaxed, I’ll have the English bits stuck in my head for a long time.

2. Stay Up: I’d say not bad. I love that he went a little edgier, lyrically. If I’m being honest I wish he’d gone to his lower register a little more, especially since it’s such a sexy song, and his lower range is just sexier to me. Ymmv though. But like I said, good for him for pushing the envelope!!!

3. Betcha: This one delights me! Groovy chorus, and I love the bridge. For as chill and rhythmic as it is there’s a whimsy to it? The 8-bit sound bites and *teensy* echoes of ‘Bout You by D&E? I really like this one.

4. Ice Queen: This one’s a little slow to start for me, but I’m not mad at it. It’s a lot like something that would’ve come out when I was in high school. Again, not bad.

5. Diamond: Really like this one! It’s so smooth and his adlibs are gorgeous!!! Very Boyz II Men! It’s awesome. 😍

I’m glad Psycho got an official album release; it sounds so cool in studio. ❤️

After an initial listen I’d say either Betcha or Diamond is my favorite. They’re both on the sexier/fun range that I like when I listen to r&b.

Real talk though? I’m kind of disappointed, for two big reasons. One, this is the kind of album that I’d hoped to hear from Kyungsoo’s solo album, if he ever decides to do one. I have an obvious bias, (as in the Western definition of the word,) and I’m aware of that. But he has a clear talent for r&b songs: Tell Me What Is Love, Thunder, Good Night, the entirety of EX’ACT. I can’t help but wonder what he would be given to put out now.

The second reason for my disappointment is that I don’t feel this genre was the best showcase of Baek’s voice. Please don’t misunderstand, he sounded fantastic, and the songs are great. But one of my favorite things about Baekhyun’s voice is how powerful he is, and overall this album is chill with a capital C. Truthfully I would’ve loved to see a rock album from him. Long shot, yes, but how amazing would that be with the way he killed the Wolf remix and how he nails Drop That? (And don’t get me started on Mama!) Basically, I think in regards to music style Jongdae so far has the most befitting genre for his skill set.

But I *do* like Baekhyun’s album, and I’m very proud of him, and I’ll happily support him as he promotes. He’s gonna rule the charts, and I look forward to his reign. ❤️

Quick Gotham thoughts 5x03

I almost wrote it as “Gobblepot” thoughts XD So you can imagine the level of my coherence here. And no, having had only two hours of sleep has little to do with it XD There will be bias. I’m not sorry.

I totally blanked at the opening scene because Oswald was so breathtaking. My heart overflowed with love. The choir was amusing. I somehow get this vibe that Oswald is both deadly serious about this praise and knows full well to take it too seriously, which gives him a good center too.

Aw Mr Penn. It certainly is difficult to tell sad things to Oswald, with his volatility and everything. And you saying how his people love Jim Gordon... well, that’s just reminding Oswald that he loves him too XD

Man, do I love Oswald’s quick survival instincts! And really, gang member with a cool beard, are you really so dumb to think that The Penguin would tag the walls after committing a crime? Surely you should’ve known by now that Oswald is smarter than that. Graffiti tagging is juvenile.

But those outbursts and Oswald threatening everyone he sees, that rubs me the wrong way. I mean, how could Oswald have held his empire if he’s that unstable? I’m just going to ignore this and think Gotham’s pulling my leg and we see Oswald at his low moments here. After all, that behaviour isn’t wise, isn’t pragmatic, and Oswald’s always been both.

I love Jim being fearless. That suicidal streak of his is very consistent throughout the seasons, and it’s good. Jim, you’re everything but okay XD Listen to Harvey, get some sleep!

You still look like a model every damn time. That’s a sick coping mechanism, Jim. I kind of envy that.

Just when did Bruce began towering over Jim? It’s so sweet XD

But they really are piling the kids on Jim. It works well - makes him sweeter, you know, and he always had this nice way with kids and teens, so it’s pleasant to see the more human side of him. But it also feels like a teensy bit too much sometimes?

Jim. It’s okay to make promises you can’t or won’t be able to keep to adults, they know not to believe them blindly. You don’t make promises like these to kids. You just don’t.

The BatCat scenes are cute. But sorry, gotta ignore them.

Olga XDDD I value loyalty above a lot of things, actually, so seeing someone stand by Oswald’s side even at the worst time, that literally warms my heart. And I’m glad this character wasn’t forgotten.

And while those undergarments are both dysfunctional and ridiculous, every time we get shown Oswald without his suit, my mind screams fanservice!!! and is quite happy, actually XD

Oh Oswald, my sweetest. You know you can’t trust anyone named Edward. You’re not in FMA, after all.

Jim. Jim. Are you for real? You really think that to deal with Oswald you need someone’s help? I don’t think Jim is physically capable of not being just a bit soft in Oswald’s presence. Or that he’s capable of not finding him cute. Even when they’re both standing with guns pointed to each other and screaming threats.

Oh yes, they know each other. They know each other so well. When to push which buttons. God. Why are they so damn good.

Oswald is leading a handcuffed Jim into a room... no, that’s not the beginning of a kinky story. But it could be! And they’re incapable of stopping their flirting, ever. Ever. Thank god. Because I’m not taking this “I’ll shoot you and leave you for dead” seriously. If you wanted to shoot Jim, Oswald, you would’ve done it before when he was such a thorn in your side. The same counts for Jim. You both threaten each other, but you both are still here. Still choosing to work together, still choosing to protect. Just who are you trying to fool, boys. You’re certainly not fooling me XD

Boy do they love doing Oswald and his underlings dirty. I’m forever bitter about Gabe. I’m slightly less bitter about Mr Penn, since he seemed to have been pressured by the rest, but really, we’ll never know. I hope they won’t do Olga dirty though.

Seriously though, Oswald being thrown into the same cage as Jim is comedy gold XD

I’m not that invested in Barbara’s storyline here. Sad but true.

Yes, much better to have Gobblepot squabbling over whatever when they should be trying to get out XD They are so married. Have been for a long long while. And damn, do I love it that Oswald always bares his soul to Jim, shows him both his fears and his desires. Does he do it with anyone else? Nope. But with Jim, oh, with Jim he can actually be himself. How good is that?

Jim actually being the first to propose a plan that requires working together? YES.

Oswald loves working together with Jim. It’s clear as day. It couldn’t be clearer if he shouted it out loud. His face says it all.

And those little smiles they give each other.

And the fact that Oswald always goes to Jim when he’s scared. Really. Should you have brought Barbara into the picture at all? Jim, think it through next time!

So, to sum it all up. Gobblepot flirting is on another level, they are totally married and also totally in love after all those years, and also jump up at the first hint of opportunity to work together and get each other’s praise.

Considerate. It would be stupid to not consider Leeteuk’s leadership qualities when it comes to a relationship. He’s not my bias and he’s never been my bias, but I think the fact he takes control of things is pretty good. Not in any other way than he’s organised and he will remember if you said something in the past which could affect something he’s doing. Say when you first meet you tell him you’re afraid of the dark, he’ll remember this no matter what. You don’t like chocolate? he’ll find the best red velvet cake for you. He’s a man of a great deal of affection which may be hidden sometimes, mostly because if he’s ever been hurt in the past he’ll hold onto any worries or problems that occurred before. Providing he’s with someone who’s open with him, this won’t be a problem. Also, I expect a little teensie bit of OCD. I read his ideal type list, most people just say two or three things but this boy has really thought about it. Definitely is always looking towards the future, so will give you his all if he loves you deeply.

Heechul

Tease. I know a lot of idols, yet none have ever managed to live up to the same standards as Heechul when it comes to someone who can make me so frustrated yet I still think he’s cute apart from wonwoo but that is a different story. Expect a lot of times when he’ll straight up tease you, be it for any reason at all. Overall I just think he’d be playful and not as serious as some of the others here, opting to see a relationship as an extended version of best friends. He loves you, but he’d also count on you to answer his 3am jokes and would most definitely glare at you from across the room if you didn’t check your phone when he clearly did actually text you. But, yeah, it’s not too serious and that’s the main point I have to make. You can count on him for anything though, but like Leeteuk he may carry things from past relationships which might make him insecure, as they’re both cancers. You can still rely on him for anything, though.

Reserved. This isn’t a bad thing, believe me. Yesung is the type who would get a compliment from you and act like it meant nothing to him but on the inside he’s a mess. ‘Cause he appreciates it all, everything you do for him, even if he doesn’t show it as well as someone like Donghae might. Hey, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. On the reverse, I don’t think you’ll find someone as devoted as Yesung. Sure, he’s not emotional as such, but you can bet if he finds out your boss was being rude to you one day, he’ll be on the phone to SM’s legal team asking about how he can sue them to hell and back. If you’re dating him, you’re already closer than anyone else is to his heart. I think of all things he’s scared of having his heart broken being a virgo and all, so it’s wise to be aware that Yesung probably will be as shy as Moon Taeil is on occasion. Only difference is, Yesung is always shy, and probably the epitome of those do you like me?--we’re married--yeah, but do you like me? posts. 

Shindong

Charismatic. Shindong, a mon avis, is one of the sweetest people ever. Like, I’m serious. When I first found out his avi was shinsfriends my heart was so warm... I think he’s a seriously caring person that would be amazing to be around. Compared to the others he’s quite open and friendly, allowing himself to openly fall in love with someone for them doing quite mundane things. Kinda like... oh you held a door open for me? let’s go on a date!, but less dramatised. What you should know is that if he does care for you, he’ll care for you beyond all earthly forms and you will feel like royalty. No joke. Considering that his ideal type is someone who can play drums, I think he may be attracted to pretty flamboyant acts or gestures. He’s not the type to be embarrassed if you’ll take him on a date or ask him out, he’ll think it’s good! Keep in mind he’ll remember everything you say, and he’ll overthink it too. Reassure him of your love.

Eunhyuk

Passionate. Can I just write fuckboy? I’m joking, I don’t believe he’s a fuckboy, that was the primary thing that came to mind because... well, I’ll save that for another time. Enquire about my thoughts for another post. My boy is an Aries, and you know what that means - fire signs, wild signs. He’s emotional, he’s romantic and he can be a bit of an asshole. All within reason, though. What you should take from it is that he's loyal, he’ll give you his all. Regardless of his star sign, he’s someone who has learnt a lot from life and most likely won’t take things for granted anyway, so I see him as the type who won’t fall out of love once they’re in it. Take that in whatever way you wish to, but personally I think he’d be a lifelong companion who will show you all the love you might have ever missed out on. He’ll want you to be honest but might not be honest himself, so give him the benefit of the doubt and try to accept him when he’s being moody instead of telling you what the real problem is. He’s hyper, too. 

Siwon

Confident. Anyone who is here to deny me that Choi Siwon is one of the most beautiful people to ever exist, please click off now because I’m not gonna shut up about this for the next paragraph. Yeah, if I looked like he did I would be confident too, but don’t take this as him thinking he’s too good for you. He’s somewhat humble too, someone who will give you their all if you do the exact same. Now maybe I'm pulling at strings here, but he said his favourite film is the godfather and maybe I’m pulling at strings here but I’m assuming he is someone who would be closely attached to their family and is a big contender for most loyal in SuJu. Another Aries (you have to know by now that I will only date an Aries), he’s strong but may often jump to conclusions in things. He knows how to annoy you and may use this against you if he needs to protect himself. He’s intelligent, kind and not afraid to make some banter. What a lad.

Donghae

Trusting. I love a man who cries, okay? Wonho, Taeil, and Donghae are three of those men and I will never deny them my love. It’s a great thing that he isn’t afraid to express how he feels, and even if I get a lot of second hand embarrassment from watching him it’s enough to cope with. As he wants someone motherly, it can be assumed he wants someone who can care for him. Basically, I think he’s secretly a bit clingy and needy, which is cute, really. He’d give love back to you in different ways though, and I think he’d also want to be with someone who he could consider a good friend of his, too. He’d rely on you, knowing that he’d have your back if you needed him to. I just generally think Donghae can be included in that perfect boyfriend category I've started, he’s so cute and I fell in love with him too quickly (sorry, Kyuhyun, you’re still my number 1 though). He’s a mix of every kind of boyfriend, a little flirty and romantic but loyal and playful too. Love him lots, okay?

Request: I meant Sungwoon but my phone corrected it to sunwoong. I just want a vampire au with him. I can’t believe that happened considering he’s my bias (well tied with Woojin). Sorry that happened!!

A/N: ahhh the classic vampire au,,, they are always so angsty, i tried to make this one more light-hearted :) enjoy!

campus golden boy ong seongwoo’s halloween parties are legendary

he throws one every year, reserving his family hotel’s conference center rich bitch

it tends to get a little wild

girls tend to wear a little less, guys tend to flirt a little more

nearly half the school attends, and everyone goes all out with the costumes

your costume? a cute lil minion

smh i wanna go to a halloween party

you’re wading through the crowd when you trip on someone’s foot and topple forward, reaching out and grabbing someone to keep from falling

that person happens to be one ha sungwoon, who’s dressed as a vampire if you even knew lmao

you’re a bit buzzed yeah ok “buzzed” so instead of apologizing like you would normally, the first thing out of your mouth is “your costume is great!! so convincing!!”

he smiles a toothy grin literally

“are you okay??” he asks, probably because you’re swaying

“are you okay??” you ask, only because his face is suddenly scrunched up

you flash a smile and he shies away

confused, you lean forward

“seriously are you okay?? you look like you’re in pain”

“its- it’s nothing- i just-”

for a moment, this weird look comes over his face, and then he’s back to normal

“i’m fine :)”

you squint confused, but accept his not-so-explanation

the next morning, you wake up with a headache, an aching neck, and the feeling that you’re forgetting something

the headache is from the alcohol

the aching neck? there are these two odd little cuts that explain that, although they shouldn’t be hurting as much as they do

and the feeling of forgetting something? well you can’t figure that out

for the next day and a half, you can’t shake the feeling that you’re forgetting something, but - obviously - you can’t remember what

you spend ages thinking hard about the party, but there seems to be a hole in your memory

you assume it’s due to the alcohol, but since when did alcohol only make you forget one specific chunk of time??

unsettled, you push it out of your mind and completely foget about it until 

unTIL

ha sungwoon!! walks into your morning class two days after the party

and the unexplained little cuts on your neck start burning

and suddenly fragments of your memory start returning, like puzzle pieces

and the longer you stare, the more you recall

by the end of class, you remember everything

like when he got you alone and when he dug his teeth into your neck scandalous and even when he wiped your memory

and when the bell rings, you can’t even stand up in shock that

ha sungwoon is a vampire

a real-life vampire who could probably kill you!!

as he passes your seat, you grab his arm

“i need to talk to you”

a couple minutes later, you stand with your arms crossed in an empty classroom across from a very nevous looking sungwoon

this one’s not too good at hiding his emotions, is he

“i remember everything” you say and his eyes widen

“i,, don’t know what you mean”

“you’re a vampiRE!! and you sucked the blood of an innocent person - me - and then wiped my memory. unsuccessfully, might i add”

he shifts around his seat anxiously

“i’m so sorry,,, i couldn’t help it, your blood scent was so overwhelming and i usually don’t do that-”

“i have one question” you lean forward, eyes narrowed

“what?”

“do you sparkle?”

the look on his face is, to say the least, priceless

“,,, excuse me?”

“you know, like edward - do you sparkle?? also i may have lied, i have more than one question. can you run really fast?? what about mirrors? do you show up in mirrors? and garlic!! can you eat garlic? do you have to be invited into houses??”

he’s all shook cus he thought he was about to be hashtag exposed to everyone

“,,, wait so you aren’t going to blackmail me?”

spoiler alert he never answers your damn questions

“i never said that,,, buy me a soda from the expensive fountain"

and that’s how you become friends with sungwoon

you follow him around like a little puppy with the excuse that “it’s just so weird!! you’re a real vampire!!” to which he almost tackles you so people don’t hear

one day, at the “expensive fountain” which actually isn’t expensive, you’re just poor he asks you something

“why didnt you tell anyone about me? aren’t you scared of me?”

and you’re like lmao bitch pls

“well firstly that’s rude to do, don’t you think? i mean, you’re a person too. or ,,, are you? and secondly, you couldn’t be scary if you tried”

he’s not getting emotional OFC NOT :’)))) ok maybe he is but shh his ego is fragile he must pretend to be manly

just when he’s about to say something back, he collapses in your arms

and after panicking for a minute, you end up dragging him to the nearby infirmary

when he finally wakes up, you’re prepared to scold him, but then decide not to after all

“what happened?? are you sleep deprived?” and then it dawns on you “oh wait,,, you haven’t slept in like 4 centuries,,,”

he giggles “i can sleep!! i just don’t need to,”

“i knew that” you nod “but seriously - what happened?? one minute you were fine and the next i’m dragging your unconscious body down a hallway”

he lets out a small sigh, sitting up in the infirmary bed

“i don’t know… i think i’m malnourished,,”

“but i just saw you eat a– oH,,, like,,, you need blood?”

he nods solomnly and after a moment of silence, an idea pops into your head 

“why don’t you drink my blood?”

and he’s like “wAiT wHaT i cAnT dO tHaT”

“yes you can!! think about it: you said my blood scent was like,, really great or something. and it’s not like you have anyone willing to be your personal blood bag,,,”

“i don’t know,,,”

“i’ll just think of it as a donation for a good cause,” you grin

he thinks about it for a while, but eventually (and reluctantly) he agrees

“fine - but just this once”

well once turns into twice, and two times turns into four times, and soon it’s every week

you don’t mind too much, you just feel a bit lightheaded afterward

admittedly, having cuts in your wrist that are reopened every week isn’t fun, but you’re glad to help

you and sungwoon become closer and closer, and he answers any questions you have about vampires

(no, they don’t sparkle)

(yes, you can see them in mirrors)

(it’s only a mild garlic allergy)

but one day, you reach the topic of memory wiping

and you find out there’s no way you should be able to remember what happened that night

even sungwoon claims he doesn’t know why

well, you have a teensy secret

and that is that your grandma knows about vampires

you didn’t believe what you thought were her crazy ramblings, until now

one day when she’s knitting on her front porch, you approach

“say grandma,,, you know how you believe in vampires?”

“mm,”

“well hypothetically, if they were real, would they be able to wipe humans’ memories??” “of course!! a human should never dabble in the affairs of the supernatural, since they could wipe any and every memory you have”

“so… what would it mean if the human could remember the memories the vampire supposedly wiped?? hypothetically, of course”

she looks up from her knitting with a cocked eyebrow

“that would mean the human is the vampire’s mate… but why are you asking?”

you plaster a smile on your face

“no reason!! i was just curious, since you seem so convinced they’re real :)))”

“you didn’t, by chance, encounter a vampire, did you?”

“whAT nO!! hahaha they aren’t real, how could i encounter one hahaha,,, i’ve got a class i have to get to!! i’ll see you later, grandma!!”

grandma sees through your shit, reader

you suck at lying

it’s only after you escape from grandma’s suspicious gaze that you fucking REALIZE

“that would mean the human is the vampire’s mate”

and you’re like “!! wait but i don’t like sungwoon like that!!”

… okay maybe you do

but only little bit!! it’s more of a budding attraction, barely even a “crush”

definitely not a “let’s spend all of eternity together”

fast forward to the next time he feeds off of you

why is it that when you know about feelings, they get stronger - i??

a pink tinge colors your cheeks when his fingers gently take hold of your wrist

and when he looks up (thankfully with no blood running down his chin), he frowns

“why is your face red?? are you sick?”

this only causes you to flame up more

“iTS JUST A LITTLE WARM IN HERe”

“really?? i didn’t notice,,,,”

you’re embarrassingly awkward for the next couple of days, and end up avoiding him more than once

and his confused and slightly hurt expression every time you run away sends a pang of guilt through your whole body but

can anyone blame you???

i mean

you’re friends with a vampire one day and the next you’re his “mate”

what does that even mean??

you’re destined to make his babies??

can vampires even have babies??

the ones in the vampire diaries can’t

maybe you shouldn’t get your vampire info from tv shows though

just as your internal ramblings start to get out of hand, a hand on your shoulder rips you out of your trance

“y/n!”

you jump half a foot

“oh! um - hi sungwoon!!”

“why’ve you been avoiding me?”

“what? i,,, haven’t been avoiding you,,,”

“is that why you run away every time you see me?? do i scare you?? did you finally realize that i’m a–”

“nO - listen,,, it’s just,,, i found out something,,,”

“what did you find out,,,?”

“well,,, you know how your memory wipe didn’t work on me??”

you go on to explain that your grandmother knows about the existence of vampires, and you never believed her until now

and that you asked her about what it means if a vampire unsuccessfully wipes the memory of a human

“and,,, she said,,, it would mean,,,,”

“it would mean what??”

“it would mean,,,, i’m your ,,,,, m a t e”

you stare at each other awkwardly for a couple seconds

“,,, i know.”

your eyes almost fall out of their sockets and you lean against a desk for support

“you - you knEW???”

“i’m a vampire, of course i knew”

“why didn’t you tell me??”

“because i knew you’d react like this,,,, you obviously don’t like me, so it wasn’t worth it.”

“wait - are you saying you,,,, you have feelings for me?”

“,,,, why else do you think the memory wipe didn’t work?? i’ve been in love with you since i first saw you, last year”
