It was one of those weekends where it seemed like it had been raining nonstop. But as I stood on the bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Del Mar, California, all the clouds had finally cleared and the sun was setting in a fiery display of oranges and reds. I had spent the day cooped up in my beachside bungalow, trying to shake off the jet lag from my latest trip. But as the evening approached, I couldn't resist the pull of the ocean. I grabbed my camera and headed out for a walk along the shore. As I made my way down to the beach, the sand was still damp from the rain, but the air had that fresh, salty smell that always seems to lift my spirits. I found a spot on the bluff where I could watch the sun dip below the horizon and settled in to wait. It was one of those perfect moments where time seemed to slow down. The waves were rolling in, the seagulls were calling overhead, and the colors of the sunset seemed to go on forever. I snapped a few photos and just sat there, taking it all in. As the last rays of the sun disappeared below the horizon, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the chance to experience such beauty. It's moments like these that make all the travel and the long hours worth it.
