"There's no way he likes me!" You chided. "Have you seen him with Padme? The man literally beams."
Y/B/F, scoffed. "You've got it wrong. That's how he is when he's with you."
You shook your head while rolling your eyes. "Right, because I'm some beautiful-looking Galactic senator that can offer him the entire galaxy." A quiet snort escaped from you.
"Come on. Y/N." They groaned. "Don't be like that-"
"Be like what?" You questioned. "I'm the help. What could he quite possibly see in me that he doesn't see in her?"
Y/B/F let out a defeated sigh, as they began walking down the corridor towards the area in which they could get their job started.
"My point exactly." You huffed, turning on your heel readying to go in the opposite direction.
As you walked down the corridor, you could sense someone following you. Hiding behind one of the pillars, you awaited the being. Once they were within arms reach, you grabbed them before pushing them up against the wall, pressing your chest firm against theirs while your forearm was securely anchored along their chest.
The sound of Anakin's chuckle filled your ears.
Removing yourself from the close proximity between you and Anakin, you sent a playful smack to his arm, causing him to flinch at your unsuspecting reaction.
"Ani!" You hissed. "You nearly scared me half to death!"
A toothy grin made its way along the seams of Anakin's lips. "Sorry, Y/N." He chuckled. "I couldn't resist."
Rolling your eyes, you let out a frustrated sigh, before resuming your trek down the hall, readying yourself for the day's tasks.
"Wait!"
Scoffing you shook your head, not bothering to slow in pace.
A firm hand gently wrapped around your wrist preventing you from moving any further. Twirling you around, you were chest to chest with Anakin once again.
"C-Can I see you after work?" He questioned tilting his head slightly, as a rosy tint made its way upon his cheeks.
Gazing intently at his features, you had quickly fallen under his lovestruck spell. Nearly giving in to his request, Padme rounded the corner quickly joining you and Anakin.
"Ani, is everything all right?" She questioned with false concern.
Returning to reality, you took a step back attempting to put as much space as you could between you and Anakin.
Padme, sent a glare your way, before quickly softening her features to gaze at Anakin angelically. All the while, his eyes not bothering to look anywhere but your face, attempting to gauge your thoughts and feelings.
"Huh? Oh, uh, yeah, yeah, everything's-"
"Y/N!" Your boss's booming voice sounded from behind you. "There you are! You're late!"
Turning on your heel, you hadn't bothered saying anything to either of them.
"Wait!"
Anakin attempted to follow you however, Padme had other thoughts. Her hand quickly found home on his firm chest gently pushing him back allowing her to step in front of him obstructing his attempted movements to get to you.
"No, Ani." Padme's sweet voice sounded. "Let her go, we have things to do."
Frowning, you felt tears forming in your eyes. Shaking your head slightly, you attempted to push them back. As you were about to enter your place of work, you heard Padme speak one last jab at you, making sure you heard it.
"You know how right I am for you." She spoke almost as if she was trying to place him under a spell. "There's no need for a peasant when you could have a senator."
Your heart dropped into your stomach, as tears quickly reformed in your eyes threatening to fall.
---
Sighing, you tossed and turned as you couldn't find a comfortable position in bed. Throwing the blankets off, you let out a frustrated huff as you made your way towards your door. If you couldn't sleep, you were at least going to attempt to tire yourself out.
Opening the door, you glided into a firm chest that felt much like walking into a wall. Letting out a surprised yelp, you felt yourself sway slightly. Their hands jolting out steadying you.
Glancing up, you were greeted with Anakin's glistening eyes.
"Are you alright?" He questioned his features etched with concern.
Nodding you hummed in response.
"Can we talk?" He offered a weak smile.
"I...I don't think Padme would like that." You frowned, attempting to take a step back.
His grasp tightening but not hurtful. Anakin kept you in place not allowing you to move away from him.
"Please." His voice sounding desperate as he pleaded with you.
Letting out a defeated sigh, you nodded before leading him into your quarters.
"What is it you-"
Before you could finish your sentence, Anakin's warm hands cradled your face angling it upward allowing him to gently nudge your nose with his.
"Can I-"
Butterflies erupted in your stomach as the Jedi was pressing his chest firm against yours. "Yes." You breathed, closing your eyes.
The feeling of soft lips upon yours overwhelmed you. It was a gentle chaste kiss. Simply stating his feelings for you.
Pulling back, Anakin rested his forehead against yours.
"Wait." You breathed, squeezing your eyelids. "What about Padme-"
"Padme has feelings for me, yes." He sighed, as his hands anchored themselves along your waist.
"But you," He started with a grin. "You have me until every last star in the galaxy dies, you have me."

Neutral ~ Rey imagine
Tumblr media
Rey x Fem!reader
Requested by anonymous: “Could you do a Rey x reader, where r is force sensitive and neutral in the war so the rebellion sends Rey to recruit them?”
Warning: Fluff
———
War is hell.
Having the ability to use the force was a “gift” but one you didn’t ask for. As ungrateful as that sounds.
It’s not that you didn’t want it completely, it’s just the responsibilities that came with having it. Like feeling obligated to fight a war. And if you were a different person then you would be like those hero’s everyone talks about, but no you weren’t, you weren’t like them, you wanted a peaceful life.
One that didn’t involve losing people you cared for, or having to carry the burden of losing people that you were supposed to protect...or having to carry that guilt if the war were to be lost. So as for now, the future, and what was before in your life, you were going to be off the grid.
Just a simple girl...with force abilities.
“Y/N, hurry come outside! Theirs a big ugly ship flying in!” Just as the kid had came in he rushed out. Now most of the time you wouldn’t have believed him or any of his little friends, since they liked to prank you a lot, and well you did too, but you began to hear the commotion he was talking about outside.
Quickly you grabbed your blaster from the table and headed out, seeing the ugly ship the kid had been talking about land a couple feet away from the small village you lived in. So carefully you began to walk through the crowd forming around the ship, everyone with their own weapons on the ready just in case it was any raiders.
The ramp slowly began to open, making you take the safety off your blaster, eyeing who was going to walk out. And if you were being completely honest you were expecting some ugly looking sentient, with a gang accompanying it, but instead the person you saw walking out caught you totally by surprise.
It was a girl. A very pretty girl. Her hair was a soft brunette that was delicately placed in three buns, her eyes were a soft sweet light brown, or green, or both? Their was also a weird familiarity about her. She didn’t feel like a stranger, she was one, but it felt as if you had known her already. The sensation was weird but great at the same time. And at the moment you were about to look away and pretend that you weren’t completely captivated by her the girl looked your way. Like made direct eye contact.
But the thing about this action was that it wasn’t awkward. Like the kind of awkward that would make each party look away immediately and pretend that neither of them ever looked. No it wasn’t that at all, in fact it felt like a connection, a spark. It felt as if with the gaze she was trying to read everything about you. And yet you couldn’t figure out her eye color, but one thing that was clear was the familiarity. The girl could use the force too.
Of course you were intrigued about that discovery, you had never met someone who could do what you do. Not until now. And you weren’t the only one that felt the connection or the familiarity, she felt it too, and you didn’t just come up with that with the gaze, but mainly because she was making her way directly to you. Instead of moving away or maybe walking to meet her half way you stood your ground and let her reach you.
“Who are you?” Wow that was smooth.
The girl not skipping a beat or getting offended by the unnecessary harshness of your voice answered your question, “I’m Rey and I’m here on behalf of General Organa to get you.”
Murmurs traveled along the crowd as the name of the known rebellion leader was heard, while all eyes bounced off Rey and you, waiting for what she was going to do and hearing what you were going to say.
“As far as I know and remember, I’ve done nothing against the rebellion.”
“It’s the resistance.” She corrected.
“Same thing.” You scoffed, your eyes glancing at the people still listening in, making you come up with the decision to talk with her somewhere more private, “come with me,” You didn’t wait for her to agree, but you knew she was following you back to your small hutt regardless. Once you got inside you placed your blaster on the table and turned to face her with a more narrowed gaze.
“What are you really doing here?”
“I’ve told you already. I’m here for you.” She repeated with the same warm look and soft way to speak. Sounding completely genuine.
And yet her honesty didn’t motivate you to just suddenly change your mind about the war—“I’ve been avoiding anything that has to do with the war for years, I’m not just going to leave with you because you asked nicely.”
“We need you—”
“They have you and everyone other fighter. I’m just a simple girl with nothing to offer, you don’t need me.”
She shook her head, blocking your path as you tried to escape the hutt, her hand coming to grab your shoulder in a way to connect deeper with you. “You’re not just a simple girl and you know that.”
You share a feigned chuckle, letting her hand stay on your shoulder while you snapped back to her comment; “I am. Now please I have things to do.” With no other explanation or room for her to say another word to try and really convince you, you shrugged off her hand and hurried out of your hutt, hesitating by the exit to quickly look over your shoulder to share one last thing.
“You’re welcome to stay for dinner. You came all this way, it’s the least we could do.”
You didn’t think she was going to accept your half-ass invitation to stay, and if you were being honest you didn’t really mean it. As pretty as she was and as intrigued and connected you felt by her, you didn’t want her to stay, let alone follow you around all day and watch what you would do. But you also knew it was for the same reason she came in the first place.
Because they “needed you.”
“You do this everyday?” Rey asked as she joined you by the big dinner table outside, watching as some of the people began to play music.
“Yes.” You bluntly answer, “this is my village and these are my people. I protect them and help them provide.”
“You could help them by winning the war.”
You scoffed loudly at her comment, rolling your eyes as you stood up from your chair to walk away. Only she stopped you before you could get any further away from the table. “I’ve seen what you do around to help and I’m certain they are grateful, but is this really what you want your life to be? Stuck and unhappy in one village?”
Your eyebrows knot together, her words hitting you more than you thought they would, offending you only because you knew they were true—“I’m not—you don’t know what you’re talking about. You know nothing about me.”
Rey let’s your arm go when she knows that you won’t try and leave again, getting closer to you to try and really make you understand. “I know you’re afraid. Not only of what you can do, but of what could happen if you lose.”
You glare at her whilst snapping back, “you don’t know anything.”
“I can help you. Help understand and really control your force so you don’t have to be afraid of it anymore.” She assured you, even after you had snapped to her in a rude way. She was continuing to be nice even if you glared at her, even if you weren’t trying to understand her argument
But even still. As nice as you thought she was, or as pretty as she was you couldn’t go with her. The people here needed you.
Right?
“I can’t.” You sigh while sitting back on the chair you had been on, “people need me here, I can’t just leave.”
Rey looked at the people talking around the fire, the kids running and playing with one another and couldn’t help but smile before she spoke, “they also need you out there. They need you to win the war so they can really live at peace and not have to worry if the First Order will come for them next.”
You stay quiet for a moment, looking towards the people before looking back to Rey to meet her gaze. “You’ll really help me with understanding the force?”
“I will. I promise.” She smiled sweetly.
You sigh and match her smile, “I’ll do it then. I’ll fight this war with you. I’ll join the Resistance.”

PART 1 || PART 2 || PART 4 (alternate ending)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The bright blue light distinguished as the hilt clattered to the floor. You stared at your saber as its dark metal plates contrasted to the cream-colored marble of the terrace. With a shaky breath, you drew your hand up to your chest, examining how much it trembled. You gulped down your uneasiness and turned around abruptly, shuffling frantically through the curtains and retreating under the heavy duvet of your bed. There, hidden away from the light of the evening, your body turned over into chills. Trembling beneath the blankets, you pulled your legs up to your torso, and began to speak the words you had been taught since you were a small child.
"A Jedi shall-" You began, and then adjusted your tone into one of absolution."-shall not know anger, or hatred, or..." The next words hung in your mouth as they rippled back into your memory; the words that could have prevented this entire mess, if you had only heeded them with more diligence. You swallowed over the lump in your throat. "Or love."
As you repeated those words over and over, bidding them entry back into your heart, you felt tears trickle down your cheeks and neck, dampening the soft satin sham of your plump pillow. Focusing on each syllable as it left your mouth, the voice of your master echoed in your mind. You remembered his guidance in the way you delivered the sentences when they needed remembering; to do so with deliberation and faith. You remembered the steps he had directed you to take with your feet to assist with balancing your mind; slow and steady, in a circle of balanced movement. You remembered how Master Windu had reminded you to close your eyes, to trust in the placement of your hands, feet, and the voice of your own mind.
Soon enough, your breathing evened out and your chest relinquished its tightened ache. For what felt like hours, you lie there under the cover of your warm duvet, balancing your thoughts and focusing on the training you had been taught to fight this kind of torment. As the minutes drew on and a state of peacefulness finally fell over you, your eyes grew heavy, and your body drifted between shallow consciousness and slumber, until finally, you fell asleep completely.
Anakin's knuckles were inches from the intricately carved wood of your bedroom door, suspended in nervous silence. He had just come from the dining hall, where he had spent nearly three hours of his evening apart from you, unable to put that sudden disturbance out of his mind. Even when Padmé had been able to join him in the gardens shortly after their meals had concluded, Anakin hadn't been able to hear anything she had brought up. When she had asked him about it, he had told her about your reaction to their relationship and the visit to the medical wing.
Padmé seemed a little shocked herself, both about him telling you in the first place and about your reaction, but had told him not to worry and that she was sure everything would return to normal soon enough. That's what his master had told him, too. But Anakin couldn't be so sure. Neither Master Kenobi nor Padmé had felt what he had between bites of roast and dessert, nor had they heard the tension in your voice, or seen the way you had thrown a hand up at him. They hadn't seen any of what had happened. They hadn't felt it.
As soon as Padmé had left the gardens to conclude her duties for the evening, Anakin had made his way back into the palace and right to your door, where he now stood, stuck in his thoughts, almost afraid to knock. When his knuckles finally rapped against the door, he was met with silence. Anakin's stomach swirled with discomfort.
"(Y/n)?" His voice was soft, but loud enough to be heard on the other side of the door. "(Y/n), it's me, Ani. I came to check on you."
Again, there was only silence from the other side.
"(Y/n), are you in there?"
Anakin pressed his ear closer to the door, listening for any sort of movement to indicate if you were inside and simply ignoring him. When he quiet only echoed, it occurred to him that if you were still in there, you might have fallen asleep within the last few hours. Anakin stepped back from the door and tried the knob, but to no avail. You had locked it, which didn't surprise him.
With a glance both ways down the corridor, Anakin's hand hovered over the knob as he manipulated the gears inside to unlock. He couldn't help but smile to himself as the lock clicked from the other side, granting him entrance.
Works every time, he thought to himself, twisting the knob and opening it slowly. When the door opened wide enough for him to survey the room, his eyes adjusted to the deep blue hue that had settled over the furniture, casting long shadows across the floor and over the bedframe. When he looked at the unkempt covers of the bed, he could see the vague form of your body buried under the duvet. He slipped inside and shut the door carefully behind him, almost without a sound. He leaned against the frame for a moment as he watched the figure under the blankets rise and fall with even breathing, hoping he hadn't woken you.
When you didn't move, Anakin let out the air he had trapped inside, and leaned forward to walk around the room. Within the few minutes of being in your presence, Anakin could feel the resemblance of some sort of turmoil that had been felt here, although it seemed to have faded somewhat. He could sense that something had happened, but he couldn't be sure what. His eyes scanned the room for any indications of what might have taken place. When he stepped forward, the toe of his boot tugged against a heap of fabric upon the floor; your robe.
Anakin knelt down and picked it up with a curious expression; you were never one to dump your robe onto the floor with such carelessness. Even if it seemed a rather insignificant article of clothing to those not a part of the Order, but to the Jedi within, they were almost sacred. The only time they ever touched the ground was when they were shrugged off before a fight, which also held significant meaning. Anakin carefully draped the robe onto the foot of your bed, careful to avoid causing much movement. His gaze then fell on the pair of boots toppled over each other into the corner of the room as if they'd been thrown, which was odd. You always sat your boots upright by the door so you could quickly slip into them.
Anakin turned towards the terrace entryway where the sheer curtains billowed peacefully on the cool breeze as it carried itself into your room. In a nearby chair he found your belt haphazardly hung from the armrest, dangling from its latch and grazing the floor. Why hadn't you rolled it up and stored it away for the night as you had grown accustomed to doing since childhood? Anakin's eyebrows drew together and his frown grew more concentrated as he rolled the belt up for you and set it on the cushion gently.
This just didn't make any sense, any of it. No, you weren't always the neatest human being, but you had always followed the code of conduct when it came to your uniform. And in addition to those clues, the energy in the room seemed to have settled into some sort of abstinent state. It wasn't as tensious as you had been hours ago, nor was it completely peaceful. It was lukewarm - settled right in the middle of the equation. It didn't make any sense.
That was when something out on the terrace glimmered in his line of vision as he passed by your side of the bed, summoning his full attention. His hands divided the curtains as he stepped out onto the marble with softened steps. When his eyes narrowed onto the object, his mouth fell open.
What is this doing out here?
Anakin stooped down and picked up the saber that had been abandoned. The silver metal of the hilt caught the bright reflection of the moon, just as it had seconds before. Anakin's mind flooded with questions.
Why had you left your light saber out here, on the ground of all places?
Under what circumstances did get there?
Anakin turned back into your room, his eyes focused intently on the saber until he set it down by your belt. When he looked up, he found himself making his way to your bedside. His shadow stretched over the bed, darkening the duvet. With an outstretched hand, he reached forward and gently pulled the covers away from your face, revealing your (s/c) complexion as it paled slightly in the moonlight. He found himself smiling - until he noticed the redness in your cheeks and the damp trail that your tears had left trickling down your face. Anakin's heart ached as he realized what he had done.
To you, his confession probably felt like a betrayal. You both had sworn loyalty to the code your entire lives, you even longer than he. And yet, here he was, planning to marry, permanently forming a forbidden attachment to someone. Anakin now wondered how deep your friendship truly ran - would you still consider him your best friend if he was deliberately defying the code in secret? Or would you, in allegiance to it, be forced to separate yourself from him? You had probably thought that you would be the only attachment he had ever considered - that, as his friend, you were the only exception.
And he had ruined that.
Oh, he could be so stupid sometimes! So blind and stubborn.
Just like Master Kenobi had warned him.
Anakin's thumb met your cheek with the softest touch he could muster. He rubbed away the remnants of your salted tears and brushed back the dampened hair from your face. With a remorseful expression, Anakin stepped back and let his eyes take in your face. Would this be the last time he would see you? Would you spend the rest of your life avoiding him? Or was this truly something that would be resolvable, like Padmé and Master Kenobi assured him?
Anakin's stomach turned once more with swelling discomfort. It wasn't so easy anymore, this deliberate choosing to love Padmé. Not because he felt romantically inclined to you; not because he loved you, but because he couldn't afford to lose you. Anakin turned on his heel and headed for the door, closing it tight and locking it back into place. He fled down the hall into his own room with tears burning in his eyes. He'd never been so conflicted.
"I'm sorry she didn't come, Anakin." Padmé's voiced echoed through your mind as you slumbered. An image of her ruffled into color before your eyes. She was dressed in a long white gown, with a cap and veil sewn with delicate lace. A golden ring glinted on her finger as she leaned against the terrace that overlooked the lake. They had just been married, and their only guests had been R2-D2 and C3PO.
Where were you?
"It's alright. Some things don't last forever." Anakin replied, his voice low and little broken. When he looked up, his smile seemed a little sad. He gripped Padmé's hand with his. "Besides, I have you, don't I?" She smiled in return, a gentle laughter leaving her lips. They leaned into each other until their lips connected.
Outside of your dream, your face contorted as Anakin's words resonated deeper and deeper. Tears welled up in your eyes as you slept. Am I really that replaceable? As you heard Anakin's voice over and over again, like a rippling effect, the bright colors in your mind faded into hues of grey as your dream shifted into another.
"I understand you're on this council, but we do not grant you the rank of master." The voice of your very own master, Mace Windu, reverberated through your mind. His face was stern and absolute. When you were able to see Anakin, you noticed his grown out hair and his darkened eyes; it was like a shadow had fallen over his face.
"What?" Anakin's gaze followed the line of Jedi Masters. "How can you do this? This is outrageous. It's unfair!"
"We understand you're confusion, Anakin, but you've been through a dramatic change in the last few months. No one expected (Y/n) to abandon the Jedi Order and disappear like she did. But you need to be mindful of your thoughts; we need to be sure that you're ready for this," Master Kenobi's voice was much gentler than that of Master Windu's. He could sense Anakin's pain and he sympathized with the loss of his closest companion, but it could be no excuse for the wavering that the council felt from within him. "It is no simple task."
"This has nothing to do with her," Anakin's voice was almost inaudible as his memory of you flooded into his mind. But he couldn't afford to feel that right now, nor ever. He corrected his posture and looked Master Windu in the eyes. His frustration was evident. "I am ready. How can you be on the council and not be a master?"
"Take a seat, young Skywalker." Mace Windu ordered, gesturing to an empty chair.
I disappeared? I left the Order? I left Anakin?
The greys of the council room faded rapidly into hues of bright oranges and reds. As you shifted under your covers, you could feel heat like a blistering fire lapping at your skin. Sweat pooled at your forehead and neck as a vision of Mustafar appeared in your mind.
"You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!" Obi-Wan's voice was riddled with heartbreak as he yelled over the sound of broiling lava and steam. His eyes were burning, both from the heat that stung his eyes and from the tears that pooled in them. He staggered up the hill of ash, only to glance down at Anakin's broken body.
"I HATE YOU!" Anakin screamed in a gravelly voice, fueled by anger and pure hatred. His eyes glowed a bright yellow, encircled by a ring of red. Obi-Wan's tears finally fell to his cheeks.
"You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!" Obi-Wan yelled, the heartbreak practically dripping from his tone. As Anakin's clothes caught fire and set his body ablaze, Obi-Wan turned his face away. He couldn't stomach to watch his padawan, his brother, his best friend, die like this. The cries that roared from Anakin's lungs were unbearable to hear.
The vision dissolved into darkness and vanished. For a long while, you lay in bed, motionless and unable to wake yourself. In that time, a voice came to you that you hadn't heard in a very long time. The voice of the man who brought Anakin to Coruscant. But this – his voice in your head, it wasn't a dream.
"(Y/n), you must defeat the hurt within you. Do you see what your absence will cause? What your anger could perpetuate?"
"Master Qui-Gon?" When there was no answer within your dream, your slumber deepened and the same terrace in Naboo that overlooked the lake rippled before your eyes again.
You stood next to Anakin, holding a bouquet of wildflowers you had personally picked that morning from the fields. Padmé's white dress was more detailed than it was previously. It was gorgeous. The smile on both of their faces brought immense joy into your heart, even if you weren't the one wearing the gown. As the newlyweds repeated their vows, you beamed with one of the brightest smiles you'd ever worn - and it was sincere.
Anakin had invited you to his wedding himself. You were the only guest apart from his mechanic companions, R2 and Threepio. Even though you would never be the object of his affection, you were more than grateful to be able to stand by his side as he pledged his heart to the woman he loved. You would always have Anakin, just in another way. To Anakin, your presence was the only blessing he needed on the day of his wedding.
As they shared the kiss that would seal their promise to each other, you burst into applause. When they parted, Anakin's eyes found yours, his smile radiating beside Padmé's. "Congratulations, Ani. I'm so happy for both of you." You gushed, engulfing him in a hug.
"I'm so happy you were here with us, (Y/n)." He replied as his arms enveloped your frame. Padmé's joyous laughter filled the air alongside yours.
A smile broke across your unconscious expression as you dreamt. That grin of his would always do that to you, no matter if his love was given to another. He was still your Ani in a way that no one else could replicate. And once again, in mere seconds, the terrace blurred into Padmé's quarters at Coruscant, where the blue hue of the evening spread across the room.
"(Y/n), I have to tell you something," Padmé started, looking up from her book. She had been shifting uncomfortably on her sofa for the last hour, but you hadn't said anything about it. You didn't want to intrude, especially when this was one of the few nights you were able to spend with her since you had become close friends. You lifted your gaze from the sparring textbook you were studying to meet hers. Her foot was bouncing slightly against the floor as her nerves acclimated. "I haven't told Anakin yet."
"Okay," You answered, shutting your book and crossing the oval rug to sit next to her. You offered your most welcoming smile in an effort to calm her down. Her anxiety was emulating all around her. "Have at it."
"I-...I'm pregnant." She stuttered, placing a slender hand over her tiny bump that was hidden beneath her graceful gown. Your mouth parted as you repeated the words in your head, taking in everything that it could imply both for her and for Anakin. "I found out last week."
"You're pre- You're, uh... you mean there's...there's a baby in there?" You pointed to her stomach.
"Mhm." She nodded with a light laugh, anticipating your reaction.
"You- you're- ...Padmé, that's-" You struggled to find the right words as it dawned on you. Your best friend was going to be a father! You would be some sort of godmother or aunt! When your arms wrapped around her neck, Padmé didn't hesitate to return the gesture. "That's amazing! Anakin's going to be so thrilled!"
Your smile grew brighter in your slumber as you nestled yourself into your covers. The warmth you felt from these tiny moments was so unreal - and yet so perfect. But how could you get to that point when your heart was aching so much? How could you ever look at Padmé and not be jealous? How could you learn to not love Anakin?
"You are his only hope. If you cannot help him, no one can." Qui-Gon's voice interrupted your worries, filling your body with peace. "The only way to his happiness is through you; but your role in his life cannot be what you are hoping for."
"Come back here, Luke!" Leia screamed, pushing her legs to go as fast as they could through the tall wildflowers of the plains in Naboo. Luke, the son of your two best friends, was a young little boy eight years of age with a habit of playing mindless pranks on you and his twin sister, Leia, as often as he could. Especially when it was your day to take them out. However, he never liked the part where his sister inevitably caught up to him. "You little moon jockey!"
"Get him, Leia! He ruined our cloud mist pudding and our pretty blanket!" You  called after the spunky child as he brown braids bobbed in the air. Your smile radiated from where you sat comfortably on the picnic blanket, picking the insects out of the dessert.
"No, I didn't! It was Leia!" Luke stopped in his tracks and looked back at Leia with an incredulous look. "I only put bugs in the pudding. I'm not the one who spilled fruit nectar on the blanket!" When Luke had fully turned around, his eyes opened wide as his sister reared into him in a matter of seconds. Before she could slow down, she rammed right into him, sending them both rolling onto the ground in a fit of laughter. "You almost squashed me!"
"Then don't stop so abruptly when you're being chased, young one!" You giggled, watching as Leia pulled her brother up off of the ground, only to trip him when he tried to take a step forward. Leia's bright laughter filled the open plain, but only until her brother swept her leg under her with his arm, sending her toppling backwards. They reminded you so much of how you and Anakin used to get into trouble together. "Come eat, you two! The sandwiches are ready."
Luke and Leia rushed back through the flowers and plopped down on the blanket, eagerly awaiting the sweet taste of Nabooian bread and meat. After handing them their own sandwiches, you leaned forward, ruffling the grass and pedals out of their hair.
"We have to hurry and eat if we want to go swim under the waterfall, alright? Your father and mother want you back at the palace a little earlier today." You explained, fighting a smile as they collectively groaned.
"Whyyyy?" Luke whined with a mouthful of food.
"They want you both clean and smelling fresh before the banquet this evening. Master Kenobi will be there, as well as my old Master, Mace Windu."
"It's so boring when Master Whantu starts talking. His face is always angry." He retorted.
"And his voice is always like this," Leia's voice dropped in pitch as she attempted her best monotone speech, accompanied by the deepest pout she could muster on her small lips, puffing out her cheeks and placing two fists on her hips. "I-forgot-how-to-smile-because-I'm-allergic-to-happiness." They both burst into laughter.
"It's pronounced Mace WHEN-DOO, Luke," You corrected with a smirk, handing them both a cloth napkin.
"Wind-ew?"
"Close enough," You chuckled, carefully spreading a generous portion of blue butter over your bread. You leaned in closer to them as you whispered your next words. "And you know what I think about his face?"
"No, what?" They asked at once.
"I think he's been so grumpy for so long that his face is stuck that way!" The twins' laughter lifted onto the breeze around you like a sweet melody. Had your younger self known this kind of bliss was possible, you would never have considered any other alternatives to staying by Anakin's side as his closest friend. You couldn't imagine never having known Luke and Leia.
"You are the one who will help Anakin choose the right path," Qui-Gon's voice echoed one last time. "He is the Chosen One, but without you, he will be seduced by darker minds. You mustn't fail him. The balance of the Force depends upon it."
The sunlight filtered through the curtains and danced across your eyelids, pulling you from your dreams. When your eyes slowly fluttered open, you took in a deep breathe of the morning air. As you forced yourself to slowly sit up, you suddenly became aware of what had been shown to you through the night. Everything you had heard, everything you had seen, was the result of the choice you would be forced to make before you left your quarters.
Were you going to hold onto your anger? Hide away your pain inside until it poisoned you beyond remedy? Or face it head on until you conquered it?
Was Anakin truly destined to become a Sith?
The image of his orange eyes send shivers throughout your body. The sight of Master Kenobi's tears, his regret, and the fire that lapped up Anakin's skin... it was so haunting. You glanced down at your hands as those moments played in your head over and over again with perfect clarity. There were those that were empty and broken; the ones in which you had decided to hold onto your hurts and flee from the life you'd been trained for - the life you loved. And there were the others, the ones that were so full of joy and hope. The ones where you were standing there with Anakin, in perfect harmony, as his dearest friend.
How could you ever jeopardize that?
Why had you thought it could only be love or nothing?
You recalled Qui-Gon's words as they ran through your mind once more. You were the one Anakin needed in order to stick to the right path. You weren't replaceable. Padmé had her role in Anakin's life, and you had yours. One as his lover and wife, the other as his friend and confidant, his partner in crime. And he needed both if he was to overcome whatever the future held. The thought of being needed by Anakin for something so vital made your shoulders relax and your lips tip into a smile. Luke and Leia's faces flashed into your head; two little children that yet to even be conceived, and you'd practically knew them already.
Luke and Leia, you repeated their names in your head. Anakin's children.
Deep in your chest there was still a stinging sensation to know that Luke and Leia weren't yours and that you would never be able to fill the role of Anakin's wife. It hurt so deeply that your lungs felt tight, as if the air you were breathing in was too heavy for them. But somehow, from what you had seen in your slumber, you knew that you would be alright with the outcome of Anakin's choice. Maybe not now, maybe not for a long time, but someday. Someday, you would be able to look at Padmé without losing confidence in yourself or feeling jealous. Someday, you would be able to look at Anakin and trust in yourself that what love you had for him was as his friend - that perhaps the bond between you could grow stronger despite the foundations not being laid in romance.
Not today, but someday.
And until then, you would focus more on your own path - the individual journey that you would need to navigate for your own life.
With a sudden burst of hopeful energy, you pulled yourself out of your covers and planted your feet onto the floor. You quietly crossed the room to your chair, where you found your utility belt neatly rolled and your saber setting next to it. With a confused expression, you picked them up and turned to observe the rest of the room. Your robe had been moved out of the floor where you'd dumped it and draped over the other side of your bed. Your boots were still in the corner where they had been thrown, and everything else seemed untouched.
He came in last night, you thought. He came to check on me after what I did.
Does he know what happened after I left him there?
With your thoughts now in a whirlwind of apprehension, you quickly disrobed your clothes from the day before and put on a fresh set. You synched your belt around your waist and clicked your saber onto its latch, your fingers lingering over the weapon as you remembered you temptation from the prior evening. You felt so guilty.
But there was no time for that, nor was there a place for it.
With a clearing of your throat and a few deep breaths, you pulled your robe on and made your way down the empty corridor, pulling your hair out of the braid you'd slept in and running your fingers through the tangles. As you descended the stairwell to the dining hall floor, you pulled it back into a low bun, letting your padawan braid fall free onto your shoulder.
You pressed your hands onto the heavy doors of the dining hall, allowing it to creak open as it glided across the floor. As you stepped inside, you were met with the blurred sound of conversations that flooded the atmosphere in the room as every padawan and Jedi in the palace enjoyed their breakfast. You stalled awkwardly by the door as you scanned the long tables for Anakin and your masters. It wasn't until you saw Mace Windu's hand raised in the air, beckoning you over, that you spotted them. With a deep breath, you made your way over and took the empty seat next to your master, directly across from Anakin.
"Nice of you to finally join us." Windu chided. You looked up at him, expecting to see a scowl, but instead you found the slightest hint of a smirk.
"Late start to the morning, (Y/n)?" Master Kenobi asked, topping off his morning pastries with a lavish helping of sweet cream.
"Um, yes, Master. I had a rough night." You explained, trying to mask the nerves in your voice. All three pairs of eyes settled on you in an instant. "It took me awhile to fall asleep."
"Oh?" Mace Windu's eyes narrowed. You squirmed a little under the pressure of his gaze. Sometimes in felt like he could see right through you. "Something bothering you?"
"No, Master. Nothing too serious." You nodded
"Anakin said something about you not feeling well. Is that true?" Kenobi glanced up at you from across the table.
"Yes, Master," You gulped. Did he tell them what you had said to him? Or the state in which he had found the things in your room?
"Why didn't you notify me? I would have had you taken to the infirmary." Your master inquired between intakes of his eggs and blue milk.
"Oh, uhm, Anakin was kind enough to take me. It was just a dizzy spell. I was outside in the sun for a while yesterday." You nodded, trying to convince everyone - including yourself - that is wasn't a big deal. "The nurse just told me to get some rest." You saw Anakin look up at you out of the corner of your eye. He was probably shocked that you were praising what he had done, judging by how you had reacted afterwards.
"I hope you got enough. We're practicing sparring again today. You and Anakin will lead the younglings through the maneuvers."
"Yes, master." You repeated, finally willing yourself to pile your plate with the delicious food that lined the table.
Throughout the rest of the meal, you and Anakin kept quiet, avoiding direct eye contact, and only mumbling answers when questions were tossed vaguely in your directions. When your plates had been picked clean and the gong that concluded the hour sounded from across the room, you were both excused and made your way down to the sparring grounds just outside the palace courts. When you were out of ear-shot from most of the crowd, apart from a few padawans racing ahead, you finally found your voice.
"Anakin? I wanted to- um," Your fingers twisted around each other as you tried to find the right words. As soon as he heard your voice, he picked up his gaze and looked directly into your eyes as you walked side by side. "I wanted to apologize for how I reacted last night. I was rude to you and you didn't deserve it. I let my emotions get the better of me."
"It's alright, (Y/n). I should have listened to you when you said you didn't want to go to the infirmary. I just thought you were trying to play it tough. I didn't realize you hated it there that much or I wouldn't have fo-"
"No, Anakin," You reached forward and touched his arm, pulling him to a stop. "I wasn't upset about the infirmary. Sure, I hate it there, but that's not what bothered me. You did the right thing in taking me."
"Seriously? I thought you were mad at me because I forced you to go." He replied, his innocent expression still managing to melt the edges of your heart. It would take a lot of time to correct that sensation from happening so often.
"No, no, I wasn't mad about that. Well, I wasn't really mad at all, I was just-...um...Well, if I was mad at anyone, I was really just upset with myself for, um, for-..." Your eyes fell to the ground as you tried to pry the words from your mouth. When your silence lingered, he placed a hand on your shoulder, warranting you to look up at him.
"You can tell me, (Y/n). We're best friends, remember?"
"Yeah, I remember," You smiled with chuckle, recalling what had been shown to you in your dreams. "You won't make fun of me?"
"I promise."
"Well, when you- when you told me about yours and Padmé's relationship, I just panicked a little. I was pretty shocked. And I think...I think I was a little hurt, because I-... I wanted to be your only person, Ani, like you are to me. You're my best friend and- and I don't want to share you with anyone...and you were just trying to find someone to confide in," You glanced down at your hands as you continued. "I'm sorry I let you down like that."
When your words settled into Anakin's mind, he was left a little speechless. He never thought that you would feel so close to him to warrant that kind of reaction. As he remembered the disturbance he had experience the night before and what he had found in your room, and the tears that had stained your cheeks, he realized what it had all meant.
Anakin was your family, just as you were his.
It took you a few seconds to register Anakin's arms around your neck. When you finally did, you slowly wrapped your arms under his shoulders and savored the comfort you found in his arms. For a long moment, you stood there so still in each other's embrace that you wondered if you were still asleep under your blankets, dreaming this all up. You, of course, had embraced each other innumerable times, but this was different. It was a promise, whether Anakin realized it or not, that you would be there beside him no matter what. Instead of a vow of marriage, it was a vow of a friend - a fellow Jedi. You wouldn't let him down again.
"You didn't let me down, (Y/n). It was a lot to take in. I should have let you know sooner, or at least done a better job of telling you," He said, pulling away and placing his hands on your shoulders. "And don't ever doubt how important you are to me. I've grown up with you and I wouldn't let anyone take your place - not that anyone ever could. There's a part of me that only you will ever know, (Y/n), and that's yours."
"Thank you."
"Don't thank me, (Y/n). You're the closest thing to family that I have. I never want to risk losing what we have, (Y/n), no matter what happens."
You tried to hide to tears that welled up in your eyes as he spoke, but the sniffling that followed them did little to help your case. When Anakin noticed them, he simply swiped them away and embraced you once more. He, too, disliked the idea of ever having to share you with anyone.
"And Anakin?" You sniffled, wiping your nose with the dramatic sleeve of your robe. You pulled away, looking up into his eyes.
"Hm?" He frowned, worried about what you might have left to say.
"I better be invited to the wedding, or I'll have to crash it myself." You smiled, shoving him playfully. Anakin's laughter filled the air around you, filling your heart with warmth as it always had. He draped an arm around your shoulder and led you down the walkway.
"I think I can manage that." He chuckled.
Not today, but someday.

The Mandalorian’s Everything Masterlist
Tumblr media
What if, way before the Mandalorian ever got the bounty for a 50 year old child, he met someone that could turn his whole life around in just a few short days? And what if this person, whoever she is, can help him become the person he didn't even know he wanted to be?
Mandalorian x Female!Reader
***THIS STORY DOES CONTAIN HEAVY SPOLIERS, MOST OF THE CHAPTERS ARE REWRITES OF EACH EPISODE JUST WITH A READER INSERT***
Some more mature themes, especially in the second chapter, but other than that it's whatever happened on the show. I will write more specific warnings in each chapter.
I own absolutely nothing except the reader's actions in the book, her backstory and all of the characters within her backstory.
All of the chapters kinda maybe sorta get longer and longer as they go on but am I sorry? No.
A/N
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Chapter 3
Chapter 4
Chapter 5

Summary:  When a threat is evident against the reader’s kingdom, her father calls Jedi Knights to protect them.
Anakin Skywalker Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Please be on your best behavior.” Your father spoke gazing between you and your brother. “We have two Jedi Knights coming since our family has been threatened. I’m looking at you, Y/B/N.”
“What? Why am I being told to be on my best behavior?” He spoke slightly offended.
“Because, let’s not forget the last time we have Jedi Knights, with us.”
You chuckled. “We’ll both be on our best behavior father.”
Grinning, your father pulled you in for a sweet hug. “That’s my girl.”
---
Sitting in one of the many hiding places you had, leaned against the windowsill as you gazed out of the window.
The sound of chatter echoed off the walls. Frowning, you gazed around the wall you were leaning against. Normally, you would here alone. Gasping your eyes widened.
Moving off the small window nook, you bolted towards the two figures in the hall.
“Ani!” You exclaimed, hurdling your body into his.
A quiet ‘mph.’ fell from his lips as his body collided with yours. In no time, he wrapped his arms around your waist pulling you tighter against him.
“You’re one of the Jedi Knights assigned to us?” You questioned pulling back slightly, keeping your grasp on his forearms.
“I am.” He chuckled.
His smile sending butterflies in your stomach.
“Oh, Ani.” You spoke, pulling him back towards you, as you nuzzled his neck. “I’ve missed you so.”
“I’ve missed you too.” He spoke into your hair as he placed kisses on your head.
Pulling away, you couldn’t help but keep your gaze locked on his face.
“This is-” He motioned beside him, only to turn and find the man that was beside him gone. “Was, Obi-Wan.”
You giggled.
“How’ve you been, Ani? Last I heard you had something going on with Padme.” You tilted your head slightly.
He sighed, dropping his gaze to his feet.
“It didn’t work out with her-”
“Y/N!” Your brother’s voice echoed off the walls. “There you are! Father has requested our presence in the throne room.”
Frowning, you nodded your head. “Sorry, Ani.” You sighed. “Duty calls.”
---
Tossing and turning, you let out a groan. Throwing your hands down on either side of you, frustration washed over you.
Knock.
Knock.
Bolting upright, you were surprised to hear someone at your door. Glancing at the clock, it read 1:30 AM.
Grabbing your sleep robe, you tied it around your waist before making your way to the door. Pulling it open a surprised gasp fell from your lips.
“Sorry, I could sense you were awake and frustrated...I...I came to help.”
Smirking, you moved aside allowing him entry to your room. His robe hung open, revealing his toned chest.
Leading him to your bed, you unwrapped your robe revealing the oversized t-shirt you had been sleeping in. The hem barely reaching the middle of your thighs. Clearing your throat, you pulled the covers back before sliding into your side.
Your eyes, landing on Anakin expectantly as you awaited him to crawl in. Mirroring your actions, he crawled in beside you. Laying on your side, you gazed into his ocean eyes. Lifting your hand, you gently traced along his face before lightly tracing over his scar.
“Does it hurt?” You softly questioned.
“No.” He whispered.
Leaning on your arm, you grasped his jaw before placing your lips along the length of his scar pressing gentle kisses to it.
Anakin’s hand shot out, grasping your waist gently as he tugged you firm against him. A sigh left his lips.
Feeling adventurous, you placed gentle kisses along his forehead, before traveling to his cheeks, then placing a kiss to the tip of his nose.
Pulling back, you locked eyes with Anakin. His eyes filled with gentleness and love.
Laying back down on your side, Anakin did the same.
“Can I kiss you?” He whispered his nose nudging yours.
“Yes. Please.” You whispered back.
Anakin pressed his lips to yours, enveloping them in a hesitant kiss. Reaching up, you laced your fingers in his soft curls tugging gently at the ends. Groaning, Anakin nipped at your bottom lip. Taking it between his teeth, he sucked it softly.
Pulling him closer, you opened your mouth allowing him entry. His bare chest was pressed against yours. Anakin’s metal hand falling to your thigh, traveling up playing with the hem of your sleep shirt. Leaning on his arm, you rolled onto your back tugging him with you. His tongue licking against yours, as it traveled along your teeth.
Pulling away, you rested your forehead against his both of you panting.
“Ani.” You whispered.
His lips traveling to your placing kisses along your jaw. Traveling down to your throat he began sucking leaving hickies in the process. Lightly biting against the skin of your throat he found your sweet spot.
Moaning out, you arched your back causing you to press yourself further into him. Your hands flying to his back as you began lightly digging your nails into his skin.
Groaning against your throat, he bit you harder causing you to repeat your previous actions. His metal hand reaching under the hem of your sleep shirt, resting under your breast.
Pulling away from your throat, he rested his forehead against yours.
“You’re going to be the death of me.” He breathed out.
Pushing him slightly, he laid on his back tugging you along with him. Latching your lips onto his throat, you began leaving bruises similar to yours.
---
Since that night, you had avoided Anakin at all costs. Walking through the corridors your mind was clouded with thoughts from that night. As you were walking you walked straight into someone else.
Their arms bolting out to steady you as you regained your balance.
“Obi-Wan?” You questioned gazing at the stranger.
“Hello, Y/N.” He grinned, down at you.
“Sorry, I...I didn’t mean to-”
“It’s quite alright.” He beamed, removing his hands from you.
Taking a step back, you returned his smile.
“What are you-”
“I was looking for you.”
“You were?” You furrowed your eyebrows together in confusion.
“Yes.” He nodded. “Come, let’s take a walk.”
As you first walked down the corridors, an awkward silence fell between you.
“What did you want to talk about?” You questioned clearing your throat.
“It’s about Anakin.”
“Oh, Uh...What about him?” You attempted to question nonchalantly.
“He’s been...different lately,” Obi-Wan spoke, gazing at you attempting to gauge your reaction.
“Oh.” You frowned.
“I...I think it’s because of a girl.” He smirked.
Furrowing your eyebrows in confusion, you felt your heart fall into your stomach.
Grasping your elbow, he pulled you to a stop. “I think it’s because of you...Y/N.”
“What? Me?” You questioned raising an eyebrow.
“He-”
“Obi-Wan! There you are.” Anakin's voice echoed off the walls, cutting Obi-Wan off.
“Sorry, Obi-Wan.” You frowned, feeling your heartbeat at a rapid pace. “I...I have to go.”
Bolting down the corridor, you wanted to get away from Anakin.
“Y/N, wait!” Anakin called after you.
Rushing down a few corners, you glanced over your shoulder making sure Anakin wasn’t following you.
Turning back around, your eyes widened.
“Anakin-”
A hand clasped over your mouth, pulling you close to their body. “We’ve been looking everywhere for you.” The stranger spoke, wrapping an arm around your waist as they pulled you down the hall.
Your screams were muffled by the hand over your mouth. Struggling against the stranger, you were unsuccessful in freeing yourself.
---
When dinner rolled around, nobody had noticed you were gone. Anakin sat across from your would-be spot. His eyes locked on the door in hopes you would walk through the threshold any minute.
The more time went by, the more Anakin became suspicious something was wrong. Making his way out of the dining room, he ventured down the corridors that led to your room.
Standing before your door, he used the force to sense you. Once he didn’t sense you, he bolted down the hall searching for Obi-Wan.
---
“Please.” You panted as the kidnapper grasped your hand. “Let me go.”
Slicing across your palm, you cried out in pain. A warm liquid oozed along your palm.
“You’re our only leverage against him.”
“Against who?” You cried, hitting your hand against the stranger's arm. “My...My father can pay for you. Please.”
“You’re Anakin’s weakness.” He spoke, his voice laced with venom. “We want to hurt him. The only way to do that...Is to hurt you.”
“But...I...” Placing tape along your lips, your words were cut off. ‘mph!’
Placing shackles on your wrists, they bound you to the wall, as blood dripped from your hand. Leaning against the wall, you softly let your head lean against the concrete wall.
---
“What do you mean she’s gone?” Obi-Wan questioned with widened eyes. “That’s the whole reason we’re here! We were supposed to protect her!”
“Don’t you think I know that!” Anakin yelled.
Obi-Wan shook his hand, before bolting down the hallway. “I have to tell her father and brother.”
Anakin let out a sigh, rubbing his hands along his face filled with frustration.
The sound of someone whistling caught Anakin’s attention.
“I know where she is.” They spoke.
---
“Get the prisoner.” A voice echoed off the walls. Opening your cell door, you gaped at the guard.
“Please.” You croaked.
“Come on.” They spoke grabbing the chains of your shackles yanking you behind them.
“Ah, our guest of honor.” The kidnapper spoke, gazing at you hungrily.
Shifting under his impeding stare, you felt uncomfortable.
"Well, well, well.” He spoke tauntingly. “We get a two for one.” He spoke sending a sly smirk in the direction you presumed he was standing.
Grabbing your arm, he yanked you closer to him. Your body facing the direction of people he was talking about. Emerging from the shadow’s guards escorted Obi-Wan and Anakin to the front of the throne room.
Hope flared through you, as you gazed between the Jedi Knight’s.
The man wrapped an arm around your waist holding you tight against him. A whimper left your lips as a knife was pressed against your throat.
“Does your dignity mean more to you than Y/N’s life?” The man taunted Anakin. Grasping a piece of your hair, he yanked your head backward, causing you to gaze at the ceiling. Pressing the knife tighter against your throat, a cry fell from your lips.
Anakin dropped his gaze to the ground before him, as he flinched ever so slightly at your cries.
“Let her go,” Obi-Wan spoke.
“No.” He smirked.
“Take me instead,” Anakin spoke, moving towards the man slightly.
“Take another step and I’ll bury this knife in her neck.” He spat, pressing the knife harder than before into your neck. Another cry wrecked through your lips, as you felt blood trickle down your neck.
“Anakin...” You gasped out pleading. Anakin swallowed hard, his eyes darting away from the scene before him, as tears threatened to fall down his cheeks.
“Get on your knees for Y/N.” He hissed. “Beg for Y/N to be spared -- and make it convincing.” He smirked.
Anakin let out a sigh. Dropping to knees before you, he locked eyes with you as you slightly pleaded.
The man holding you against him, let out an evil laugh. “I never thought I’d see the day, Anakin Skywalker on his knees, begging.”
---
Sighing, you fidgeted with the wrap that covered your palm.
Knock.
Knock.
Opening the door, you couldn’t help the smile that made its way to your lips. “Anakin.”
“I’m-”
Throwing your arms around his shoulders, you pulled him in for a tight hug. Nuzzling his neck, you felt him sigh against you.
Wrapping his arms around your waist, he placed kisses on your head as he inhaled your scent. The aroma of your shampoo filling his nose.
Rubbing the tip of your nose against his throat, you placed gentle kisses in your wake.
“Come on.” You spoke, pulling away. Grasping his hand you led him into your room.

“Alright, what do you see hon?” Poe asks just above a whisper over the Comlink
You scan the street once again, taking in the busy city street. Scum, thief’s, vendors and some nice civilians scattered every so often but that was rare, especially so low in Coruscant. The lower you got in the city, the more danger you were put in, especially when it came to you.
“Stormtroopers scattered all around the streets, but beside that just the normal scum.” You sigh pulling away your rifle blaster albeit not your own but one borrowed from base— you push yourself to your feet. “Theirs cameras hidden in every other building, the stormtroopers here you can pay off, but the people not so much. One sight of me and the whole lower level is after us.”
“You know as much as I don’t trust y/n, at least her contact wasn’t in Coruscant.” Finn complained over the comlink, making Poe sigh loudly and practically hear his eyes roll.
You can’t help but let out a small chuckle before jumping down to a lower level of the building and once again scanning the area, pulling your scarf over the lower half of your face to attempt to hide as much of yourself as you could. “I’m just warning that if die here or get captured their will be hell to pay.”
Poe lets out a genuine laugh, the cockiness behind his voice clearly heard over the comlink, “well if you’re scared you can hold my hand, I promise I won’t let go.”
You smile under your scarf and can’t help but roll your eyes in a lighthearted way, for a moment just thinking of accepting his offer.
“Pfft scared, me? Have you met me? you can hold my hand if you’re scared.” You dismiss his offer and zoom in closer to the busy street, keeping a watchful eye for anything or anyone suspicious.
“I’m not scared, but I might just take you up on that offer sweetheart.” He says with the same amount of cockiness or even more than before.
“Focus, what else do you see y/n?” Finn questions sharply, all sort of amusement disappeared from your face. You didn’t need him to tell you what to do, you were already doing it, you could multitask. You were trained by Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren after all; but of course he didn’t know that. Neither of them did.
“More and more stormtroopers, all heavily armed and armored. We need to be extremely careful, theirs in no doubt also Bounty Hunters hidden among the crowd. And theirs no doubt they’re all here looking for me. Hoping to catch me for the reward.” You informed them both as you got up and secured your weapon behind your back, taking in a deep breath before jumping down into the alleyway.
“You can use the force.” Finn pointed out, almost like he was informing you on what you could do.
“Yes, I can, but one can never be too cautious. Looking over your shoulder has to become second nature. Learn that.”
“Has anyone told you that you’re overly paranoid?”
You muster up a small laugh as you shake your head, “not directly, why? Have you heard something?”
“Focus. No distractions, no talking to anyone, we just walk to our destination, get what we’re here for and leave. We can’t risk being seen.” Poe announces cutting the conversation Finn and you were having as they both climbed down into the poorly lit alleyway with you. “The person I know isn’t far from here, if we hurry we’ll get there quick.”
You respond with a small nod before pulling your hoodie over your head—moments like these were the times where you really missed your helmet.
“How do you even know this person, Poe? Sounds sketchy if you ask me.” Finn expresses to his friend, the same thought you also had. You never pegged Poe as the type to deal with..shady people, always more of a person that always walks on the right side and never the bad—Who knows? even if he did, you’re no one to judge his past.
Poe stays silent as he walks ahead, leading Finn and you before answering, “it doesn’t matter.” He answers rather bluntly, his tone in voice saying in all forms to drop it and ask no questions. Perhaps he’s just as shady or even more than you.
Wanted posters of you were decorating every wall, all saying the same thing ‘EXTREMELY DANGEROUS’ and ‘BRING TO THE FIRST ORDER UNINJURED’. It caused you to be paranoid, for your eyes to catch every small movement anyone made as you moved past them. No one could recognize you if you remained disguised, but that still didn’t mean that someone could or would at any moment if they stared for a moment too long.
“Damn hon, theirs posters of you everywhere, what did you do? who are you? A daughter of some important senator or King?” Poe questioned curiously as his eyes moved past yet another one of your posters.
You sigh nervously, “something like that.” You avoid Finn’s curious stare, focusing on yet another poster of yourself. This one catching your eye more than the others one had. You move your eyes back to see if Finn was still looking back at you, he wasn’t. Using that as your opportunity you fell out of line and moved towards the poster, your eyes fixated on the poster.
Once you finally reached the wall with the poster, you ripped the poster from the wall, your eyes widening as you saw something familiar drawn on your mugshot. A scar....just like Kylo’s. Your breath hitched and you gripped onto the poster, wrinkling the corner with a firm hold. Their was a form of similarity to the picture of you and him, if he was placed alongside it; the glare, the frown, the way you tried to project yourself as fearless and with no emotion, when in fact you—neither of you were anything but that. And yet it was a similarity that you couldn’t accept, one you tried to deny. One being that he wasn’t even related to you by blood and two..well..two being that you couldn’t accept that you were like him.
“Ren.”
Instantly your whole body stiffens at the sound of that name, your breath catching in your throat and fear slowly seeping through.
“Turn around. I can’t see you, but I can feel you.” The same voice says, making you spin around to try and spot the location of the voice, your eyes frantically searching the crowd for who it could be. “Don’t try and see me, feel me.” The voice projects louder. You hesitate and think of just running off to catch up with Poe and Finn, but before you could attempt to do so the voice called again; “I sense your hesitation. Don’t worry, you can trust me. After all I have a truth you seek.”
Poe said no distractions. This was currently one. A big one. You attempt to move away but as you take a step away you can’t help but reach out with the force, your curiosity getting the best of you. You continue moving, unconsciously going the wrong way, instead of going to find the guys, you’re moving towards the voice. The energy of the being growing stronger and stronger until—there. Finally coming to a stop in front of a door-less building, the violet light inside shining in a soft and almost calming hue.
A sound of someone shuffling inside, made your eyes follow the sound until you spotted a small blue Ardennian sentient. Your eyes searched the place and the sentient, looking for any sign of this being any sort of trap. Their was an urge to just leave, but then the sentient said something that fully caught your attention, “Y/N, daughter of Kylo. Please come in.”
Your eyebrows furrow at the sound of the comment, not having the energy the correct the sentient or ask how it knew your name. Either way your hesitation returned; “I should find my friends.” You speak slowly, your eyes heavily trained on the sentient before you turned them towards the exit, “they’re probably worried.” You move out the exit, but again you’re stopped.
“I see beyond what’s hidden and meant to be hidden. Truths. Pasts. Stories long forgotten. Flickers of futures.”
Your breath hitches whilst you remove the hood from your head and pull the scarf down, missing the way passing people looked at you. Before you turn to the sentient, your curiosity for your own hidden truths blinded you from thinking straight. Slowly you move towards where the sentient is seated, the curtain beads hanging from the ceiling lightly hitting one another as you moved through them.
Carefully you take a seat in front of the sentient, “what do you know?” You question it, the sentient showing a proud smile. It’s lips part to say something, but it quickly closes them, it’s white milky eyes rolling past your shoulder.
“Y/N! There you are!” You hear Poe exclaim frantically as both Finn and him walk inside. “I was worried. What the hell happened?” you look over your shoulder, and see him already close behind you, his hand wrapping around your arm to pull you to your feet. His eyes fall on the sentient and then the small blanket covered table, instantly getting the idea of what was going on; “it’s all a scam, just after your credits. Let’s go.” He whispers in your ear, offering the sentient a feigned smile as he began to pull you away.
“Not a scam. Anything but that...Commander Dameron.”
Poe and Finn stop moving, both looking at one another wide eyed after hearing information not given.
“Kyber crystals are priceless gems...luckily for you I don’t want what you hold, I just seek y/n’s full given attention.” The voice says. Quickly you pull away from Poe’s grasp and move back to your seat, the sentient once again smiling proudly and knowing. “I know what you seek. A past forgotten.”
You offer a quick nod, “yes. Can you tell me? Tell me who I am?” You speak softly, your voice giving off emotions not expressed on your face.
“Y/N, we don’t have time for this, let’s go.” Poe says to you as he comes behind you again, attempting to pull you back up, only for you to pull away and shoot him a glare.
“Just wait.” You hiss before turning your attention back to the sentient.
The sentient grabs your hands and slightly tilts it head to the side, the white milky in its eyes seeming to whirl as it talked “Child, what you seek is a past not meant to be remembered,” your lips part in disbelief, your eyes beginning to sting with tears, “what you seek you already found, it lies before you. Just let the light shine through to see clearly, when you do that’s when you’ll finally know.” You pull your hands away from the sentient and swallow thickly, your jaw and fists clenching tightly, as you get up to leave the sentient finishes, “but if you really seek who you were before, than that will be revealed soon enough.”
You respond with silence, pulling your hood and scarf back on. The answers you truly seeked not at all what you wanted to hear. It broke your heart, but you didn’t express such emotion, instead your eyes slid to Poe, “let’s go.”
As you move to storm out of the building the sentient says one more thing, one thing that really pisses you off in more ways than one, “let your past die.” Without another word you storm out, letting anger build up inside you, instead of letting your heartache seep and take over. Instead of getting the answers you wanted you were left with more questions.
As you noticed that you still carried your wanted poster from before, you looked down at it, a single tear escaping from you and hitting the poster.
Poe fell to your side, eyeing the poster before turning to look at you with a sympathetic look, “Y/N—”
“Just.” You pause as you catch sound of your own sharp voice. You let out sigh before balling the poster in your hand; “we’re almost arriving to your contacts location?”
“Y-yes.”
“Let’s hurry then.”
In a careful movement you tie the end of the delicate side braid that you took too long to do, carefully letting it rest on your shoulder as a small almost invisible smile grows on your lips at your job well done—considering that you weren’t used to braiding your own hair. At all.
A silent exhausted sigh escapes your lips as you lean in on the balcony, fidgeting with the violet kyber crystal in your hand. What the “all too knowing” sentient had said about what you seeked, only left more questions about yourself than before, and left you with no information on who you really were. When that’s all you really wanted, just who you were. But no, it gave you nothing but anger and some a deep saying that you didn’t understand.
All you wanted to do now was just leave, and be by yourself in the deep jungle, just your thoughts and you, but alas you couldn’t get that either as you waited for Poe’s contact to give you all the fuel you came here for. And as for being alone well that was short lived as you heard heavy hesitant footsteps come behind you, getting louder until they stopped beside you. And for some apparent reason your fragile mind thought it was Kylo who stood at your side, but you knew it wasn’t, but for some reason your mind instantly came to that conclusion, perhaps it was the boots? Right?
You didn’t have to look to your side to know that it was actually Poe next to you. His hesitance known not only by his sigh but the energy you read off of him.
His eyes travel your face, unknowingly lighting up as he saw you; “your hair...it’s picked up. It looks nice.” He compliments, making you hide your blush that began to grow, he then cleared his throat, “anyway, I’m sorry my friend is making us wait. Should be back with the fuel soon.” He quietly mentioned, still very hesitant as if almost scared to talk to you after what you had heard with the sentient.
You gnaw at your bottom lip before turning your head to the side and face him, “it’s alright.” You pause and show a feigned smile, “you’re lucky I’m a very patient person.”
Instead of responding with a small laugh or a smile, like you expected him too, he responded with a sympathetic look almost like he saw right through you.
“You okay?” He asks, and with that simple question it takes everything within you not to breakdown in front of him.
You simply nod, while you bite down on your bottom lip and turn away from him. “Yeah...I’m fine.”
He looks at you with a perplexed look, hesitance once again overriding his emotions. “I just—what the sentient said, just seemed to bum you out.” He struggled to say.
You sigh and stare down at your kyber crystal, “I’ll be fine,” again you pause. “I just wanted to know more and well I didn’t so...I’ll be fine.” You feel the confusion within him, the hesitance to ask something else. Scared that you might just turn him away and leave the conversation when he wanted to know more of the stranger within you. Knowing and feeling that within him, you turn your body to your side, facing him while still leaning on the balcony. You hesitate this time, but still manage to speak a little bit more of what he didn’t know about you.
“My past is complicated and something I’m not proud of, but also something I couldn’t control.” You inhale deeply and struggle to say what you were going to say next, while also carefully walking around revealing anything about your real identity, “I loved and trusted the wrong person. He left my heart and my mind broken..” you remain silent and keep your eyes on anything but him, as you tried not to cry in front of him.
He nods slowly, silence overcoming the both of you as his mind ran over what to say. Overthinking the thought of having been unknowingly pushy. He didn’t mean to at all, but as he saw how your face drop when you talked about that mysterious person he couldn’t help but feel bad for overstepping.
“I didn’t mean to. I didn’t want to overstep I’m sorry-”
“Its okay, really. I just..,” you don’t know what brings you to reveal your emotions, insecurities that you’ve had a hard time accepting to yourself since everything with Kylo went down; “I just-just feel lost...I don’t know, on who I am or am meant to be. The people I was with before took that away from me, the possibility of being my own person,” you pause and take a shaky deep breath, “And joining the resistance has been hard, I thought I was going to feel different, find myself, but I just feel like I’m not doing anything, I feel like I’m..” You blink slowly, your eyes flooding with tears, “..not worth anything there, like I’m just in the way; but I have nowhere else to go, the only home I knew before, well, he just isn’t that anymore.” Hot tears finally escape your eyes, unwillingly but they do.
You let out a shaky deep breath and finally drift your eyes to meet his gaze, showing emotions you never thought you’d show him any time soon. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to overshare, I’m sorry.” You turn away again while wiping away the tears that wouldn’t stop flowing. Poe takes a deep breath, taking a moment to come up with the right answer. Knowing that if he said the wrong thing it could hurt you more, and well he didn’t want that. He was having a hard time seeing you so upset and vulnerable in front of him, he just didn’t want to ruin the trust you clearly had for him with a terrible answer.
“You are worth something to me...and you know clearly Rey, never let someone make you feel that way because you are worth something. It takes a while to know who you are, you’re young, you’ll know soon.” Carefully he slides his hand to place it on-top of yours, waiting a moment to make sure you were fine with said interaction, and when he saw that you only moved to sit up straight and didn’t pull away, he interlaced his fingers with yours, once again pulling your gaze to meet his; “and as far as being in the way? You’re not. You’re helping the resistance in more ways than you know, you have a home there, you always will.” He says carefully, offering you a sincere and assuring look, leaving the conversation at that and asking no further questions, even if he really wanted too.
He just wanted to know if the mysterious person you talked about before was some boyfriend or even husband he needed to look out for—but again you were too young to have been married, and well you carried no ring so it couldn’t be that. Perhaps a boyfriend? Or preferably ex-boyfriend. Even then all that didn’t matter at the moment, all that mattered was you. None of that was his business and if you wanted to tell him then you would. Hopefully. But as of now all that mattered was comforting you as best as he could.
So, carefully he brought his other hand up, wiping the tears from your cheeks, a small warm assuring smile decorating his features; “you might be a little mean, but it’s cute.” He continued saying, with a hint of cockiness behind his tone, before turning sincere once more; “But worthless? Far from it hon.” He moves his hand so he can completely cup your cheek, gently caressing it with his thumb.
A warm and shy smile finally grows on your lips for a second before if falters and you’re remembered of something, “I-I just...who I was before—you just won’t think of me the same—”
“Y/N, it doesn’t matter. I’ve done things I regret, but the best thing is not to dwell on them.”
He won’t think the same way when he knows who you really are. As much as he says the opposite right now. But you don’t argue against that as of now, all you do now is smile. It doesn’t quite reach your eyes, but it’s sincere especially after what he said.
He smiles in return, his eyes traveling away from your own to travel down at your lips before flickering them up again. You do the same as him, this time he leans in closer, stopping so his nose brushed against your own. You swallow back nervously, your eyes once again flickering down to his lips before blinking to meet his hooded gaze. Seconds later you ease into his touch, shoving your necklace in your coat pocket before bringing your other hand to place it on top of the one he had on your cheek, gently caressing his knuckles with your own thumb.
The only sound you could hear was each other’s slow breathing, a breathing that gradually picked up at the moment you two were sharing, at the feeling of your heart fluttering and a warm feeling down in the pit of your stomach. This same moment caused you to ignore the sudden familiar presence you felt through the force. It was strong but something you ignored because of the moment. You then slightly part your lips as you move closer, shutting your eyes as you do, your lips brushing against his own soft ones...
“The fuels here.” Finn suddenly announces, quickly making Poe and you part away. Your cheeks burning but still remaining calm as you tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear, unlike poor Poe, who struggled for a moment, clearing his throat to try and ease the awkward situation this just turned into. His eyes only expressing fast emotions on the sudden and unwanted interruption. He had been so close and just like that it was ruined. He couldn’t necessarily blame his friend because one he didn’t know and two....well there was no excuse for two. He was upset that Finn had walked in at the wrong time.
Poe tried to play it off cool but he had failed at showing such attempt, moving past Finn with one quick glance, “Yeah, okay. We’re going.”
Collecting the fuel was surprisingly easy, something that Poe didn’t let live down. Comparing his friend with yours— at least Zater provided you with a secret exit, as bad as he was.
“Why do we have to walk all the way back? We couldn’t we have gotten a ride or I don’t know some speeder bikes, huh?” You groaned.
Poe sighed in annoyance, “BB8 is bringing your ship closer, we’re not walking all the way. But if you keep complaining then it will seem longer.”
You only let out a small hmph and continue walking.
“Aren’t you supposed be some trained assassin or something like that? Isn’t walking just below you?” Finn questioned from behind you.
You bring your finger up to correct him but before you could, their was that familiar presence again, stronger than before. You shift your head from side to side, trying to locate where the presence felt the strongest. You quicken your pace, shoving past the crowd of people, your eyes frantically searching past bodies, all the while your heart quickened in your chest and beads of sweat formed on your forehead, anxiety growing within you on who it could possibly be.
The presence only felt stronger the closer you got, and yet no one was seen, you keep shoving past people, maneuvering past hagglers and stands, the sounds of Poe calling you seeming to be heard in the back of your head. It’s not until you see a flash of black right ahead that you halt in your steps, your breath catching in your throat and your heart seeming to drop.
The sudden hand on your wrists pulls you out of your stupor. Realizing that it’s only Poe your shoulders drop, but quickly you put your guard up as you see a tall figure in all black stop a few feet away.
“Ky—” your whole face drops as you realize that it’s not the person who you were thinking it was, but yet someone else completely, probably equally as bad or even more. “Trudgen.” You mouth, moving your hand to fully grip onto Poe’s, guiding him to the nearest alleyway to move past the Knights of Ren, taking advantage that they hadn’t seen you yet.
“What’s going on?” Poe asked frantically, confused on your sudden action.
You don’t stop moving and look for the quickest way around to circle back to the ship, “the knights of Ren. They’re here.” You only look over your shoulder to double check that Finn is following.
Both Finn and Poe gasp at the revelation, Poe’s hand never leaving yours.
“Walking's not going to work anymore.” Quickly you remove your hood and your scarf, your eyes quickly searching for any form of transportation, until there. In the next street were a couple of speeder bikes that you were going to...borrow. “Let’s get on the speeder bikes, they won’t take long to find me.” Surprisingly neither man argues against your suggestion and hop onto the speeder bikes just like you. And as soon you do, you see Trudgen, Cardo and Ushar round the corner, their step quickening as they finally spot you.
Without any hesitance you rev up the bike and try and make a hasty escape back to the ship, ignoring the calls from the owners of the bikes, “you two better keep up!” You shout over your shoulder to both Poe and Finn, very carefully swerving past people diving out of your way. Looking over your shoulder you spot the knights already on speeder bikes of their own, so, in a quick solution you make a sharp right turn into underground train tunnel, jumping down into the rails and moving through the tunnel, immediately feeling Finn’s hesitance and Poe’s excitement but also a small amount of fear because of where you were currently riding in.
“Poe, Finn I need you both to speed up, get out of the tunnels and make it to the ship!” You command loudly.
“What about you?! We can’t just leave you!” Poe argues as he rides at your side.
“I’ll catch up, I just need to get them away until you guys find me.” You leave no room for arguments and suddenly slam on the brakes, Poe looks over his shoulder and you immediately see his glare for your actions and decision, not at all agreeing with it but following them nonetheless.
Making sure Finn and Poe were out of the tunnels you continue racing down the tunnel, picking up your speed only for the knights to catch up as well. Even if their face was hidden behind their masks, you knew that they were smug about what was currently going on with them chasing after you.
“Boys!” You salute them as they ride beside you, causing them to all too quickly try to make you lose balance on your bike to capture you. But at sight of them right next you is when you realized that it was just three of them riding beside you and not six. Shit. Kuruk, Ap’Lek and Vicrul were missing. Not good. At all.
In attempts to contact Poe and warn him on the three missing knights, that were most likely out there chasing them, you got out your comlink and try and talk to Poe, but the comlink was suddenly flown out of your hand and left behind in the rails. You shoot Trudgen a cold glare and all he responds with is a tilt of his head and a quick shrug. Cardo suddenly tries to slash your bike, but at the last second you manage to swerve out of the way, and kick Ushar off of his bike to move to the side and out of the tunnels as you see a trains headlights shining ahead.
Once you make out of the tunnels you go back to the busy streets, swerving past people and mentally apologizing to them. A loud groan leaves your lips as you see Ushar and the other two knights pop out of the tunnels, all alive and well...yay. Anyhow you force pull Ushar’s Vibromachete to your hand, and don’t double think to swing at any of them as they ride beside you. As Trudgen ducks your swing he pulls out his Vibrocleaver and swings at your legs, but you manage to swerve, avoiding his swing. You smirk at his failed attempt, but the smirk doesn’t last long as you spot Poe appear from an alleyway.
“What are you doing?! I told you to go—”
He quirked his eyebrow and shot you a cocky half grin, “I wasn’t going to let you have all the fun!”
You shook your head and rolled your eyes, all the while you bit back your smile, a smile that didn’t last as Ushar uses his club to blast your speeder bike, causing you to lose control and fall off your speeder— you groan as you roll on the ground, landing on your back to only groan more
“Ow.” You groan, well that was going to hurt more the next morning—quickly you jump to your feet, ignoring the pain from your scrapes. Poe sees what happened and tries to help you, but you motion him to just continue riding forward, however he doesn’t and neither do the Knights. “Stubborn men. All of them.” You hiss.
All four of them make a sharp U-turn and ride towards you. You only grimace and begin to sprint towards them, a smirk growing on your lips as you see Ushar ride towards you in a faster speed. As he’s just a few inches away you quickly grab his speeder bikes handle whilst you shove him off, flipping the bike over as you swiftly swing your body over and land on the seat and ride towards the ship. Poe sees what you did and only stares wide-eyed and impressed, his mouth agape before he has to turn and chase after you.
Finally the ship comes to view, albeit you didn’t know if it was Finn and BB8 or the other three Knights. Hopefully the two you had came with though—the ramp opens and you wave Poe to speed ahead of you as you manage to slash Cardos bike and make him crash to the wall, only having Trudgen ride at your left side. As you try and cut him off, a blast flies his way, hitting his speeder bike perfectly; you snap your head to see Finn with a blaster in his hand. It takes all your will not to smile at his successful hit. Alas it’s your turn to get on the ship and finally leave this city planet, so as you try and do so, Poe already has his hand outstretched to you, his face contorting into one of worry and anxiety as he sees you jump onto your speeders seat.
You try and keep your breaths slow and steady as you take step forward and onto the handle bars, your hand already outstretched to Poe. He keeps mouthing ‘come on’ to you as he feels his heart race in his chest, in both still very impressed and scared for how this jump could turn out. You lean forward and push down on your feet, before jumping off the bike and towards the ship just a few feet away. You feel your fingers graze Poe’s and as he was about to wrap his hand around yours, you were shot and pulled back harshly. “NO!” Your eyes go wide and in a blink of an eye you crash on the ground, your eyesight fading to black and your head pounding sharply.
The last thing you see is Trudgen pick you up before it all goes to black.
“Ughh.” You moan lightly, your eyes fluttering open, “the hell?” You groan as you begin to feel pain at the side of your head, and well your whole body really. With very precise caution you slowly sit up, grabbing the side of your head and wincing all in the same while. Instantly you’re met by Ap’Lek’s skull like helmet in your face. You pull back and your face scrunch’s up; “shit Ap’Lek your face scared the hell out of me.”
“You can’t see my face.” Ap’Lek rebutted in a low grainy voice—no thanks to his helmet.
You simply shrug and shoot him an icy glare, “all the same. It’s still ugly.”
Before he could answer, snickering is heard entering the same space you were in. “Little y/n, I see that the rebels haven’t changed the good part of you. Thank the maker. Am I right boys?” Trudgen comes up beside Ap’Lek. “We’ve missed you, little sister.” You shoot him a deadlier glare, before standing up inches before him, you try and take the blade that hung from his belt, but you soon figure out that you’re chained up. “Sorry, precautions. You understand, right? I’ll let you go when we get to Kylo.”
You sit back down and scan the dark area, finally your mind capturing where you were, the ‘Night Buzzard’ great. Quickly your mind begins to go into panic as you realize you’re alone and that you’re missing two other rebels. Trudgen notices the panic in your eyes and tilts his head slightly to the side, and clasps his hands behind his back. “Don’t worry, the rebels you came with, are here...not for long though.” He snickered making you jump up to attack him, but only to be aggressively pushed back down. With a simple wave, Ushar comes in with Poe and Finn in cuffs, and seeming to be unharmed. Thank the stars.
“Y/N! are you okay?!” Poe begins, but quickly he’s shut up by a harsh pull down. You part your lips to protest but then Trudgen begins to click his tongue, pacing back and forth menacingly, obviously something on his mind.
“Who knew our little y/n could be friends with scum such as you two, hmm?” He crouch’s down in front of Poe and Finn, on obvious smirk hidden behind his helmet; “you know before she used to relish in killing people such as yourselves.” The boys only looked up at him confused on how he knew such information about you. You shuffle in your seat uncomfortably, something Trudgen notices and huffs out in amusement.
“Before. Keyword before. Before I knew what the first order did to me.” You hiss, leaning forward with a narrowed look, “before I found out you killed my mother.” The words slipped out your mouth, part of you forgetting Finn and Poe were here as your anger quickly grew. An anger that you didn’t care if it got out of control, all so The Knights of Ren payed for what they did.
Trudgen pushes himself to his full height and stands in the middle, watching you carefully before speaking, “mother? kid, you don’t have one or don’t you remember she abandoned you.”
You shake your head, “no, that’s all fake, I know now. You’re all liars. You killed my mother.” Poe and Finn just watch the scene playout, neither wanting to get in-between the drama and obvious history with the knights and you.
“Me? No I couldn’t have.” Trudgen shakes his head, placing a hand where his chin would be. “You know what,” he points to you, “actually I do remember something, little y/n and a pretty women...ahh yes now I remember. It was actually Ushar who killed your pretty mother.” Your eyes go wide and you jump to your feet, your head snapping to Ushar just a few feet away. He only shrugs like if it was just something ordinary and common, like it was nothing. It wasn’t nothing to you. Quickly with the anger within you and the built up revenge you run towards him, flipping over him and wrapping your chains around his throat, wrapping your legs around his waist to get a better hold, whilst pulling tighter and making him struggle to pull you off of him.
Ap’Lek, Cardo and Vicrul watch in amusement, while Poe and Finn have no choice but watch these events unfold, neither of them knowing how to react. After a couple minutes Trudgen claps his hands and let’s out a feigned laugh. “Okay enough! That’s no way to treat your brothers in front of our guest y/n, you know that. Kylo’s taught you better.” Trudgen says as he breaks the hold you have on Ushar and flings you off to the wall using the force. “Sorry, she takes after her father in her...anger.” As soon as Trudgen notices once again the confused reaction Poe and Finn give him (mostly Poe) at the revelation, Trudgen nods his head and walks to you, grabbing your arm to pull you to your feet. “You haven’t told them?” He asks in too much amusement.
He notices your silence and change in demeanor, the way you kept your eyes down instead of on your friends, finding his answer. You swear you can see his grin shine through his black helmet as he takes too much joy before revealing something you were too scared to. “Listen and rejoice, for you are in the presence of blah blah whatever they say— anyway Your little friend here is none other then Y/N Ren! Daughter to our Master Kylo Ren,” he pauses and wraps his hand around your chin to make sure you were looking at your friends; “or as you may know her, The great Child of Ren!”
You quickly rip away from his grip, not before noticing the way Poe’s reaction was; his mouth agape, his eyes wide in bewilderment, confusion and realization..maybe hints of betrayal? you wouldn’t know though, you didn’t have the will to read more to his reaction as you felt hurt that he had to find out the horrible person you were before. Finn though, his reaction was less surprised like the news weren’t news at all, it was like something he already seemed to know.
Trudgen then turns to Poe and Finn, “don’t blame little y/n for keeping such a secret, after all she takes after her father in that. And well brainwashing has got to do something to your head, doesn’t it y/n?” Trudgen continues with a taunting tone, making sure you were listening.
“He’s not my father! And never will be!” You growl.
Trudgen brings his hands up feigning innocence, “Oh, haha okay sorry, correction stepfather.” he pronounces the last words slowly, knowing that the words were hurting you; “anyway. Are you going to introduces your brothers to your friends? Or should they introduce themselves, one by one, hmm?”
“You’re not my brothers.” You grimace, making Trudgen put a hand on his chest, faking to be hurt by your words. “Ouch, that one hurt. After all we’ve done? You have to know that killing your mother was just us following orders, you understand that right? No hard feelings?” Kylo said the same thing...just following orders. Perhaps you didn’t have the same love for the knights of Ren like you had for Kylo, but that still didn’t mean you didn’t care for them, they were like family to you after all.
Taking your silence as an answer he moved next to Ushar by the doorway; “anyhow, enough chit chat, we have work to do.” Again he turns to you and this time he gets a vibroblade from his belt and throws it to you so you could catch it. “We’re taking the traitor here back to base.” He turns to face Finn, his smirk heard through his voice, “they’ll love having you back home, just like little y/n here.” He then turns back to you, placing his hands on his hips, “now about this rebel and his droid companion,” he points to Poe and a poor deactivated BB8, “do you want to kill him? Or should Ushar here? You know he enjoys that stuff.”
Without a second thought you charge towards both Ushar and Trudgen, swaying the vibroblade close to their throats, “touch them and I’ll kill you both.” You threaten them, a hard glare meant for them both. “Just let them leave” You glance back to Poe, before focusing on the two men in front of you; feeling your heart shatter in your chest for what you were going to propose, “let both of them leave, the droid too. Let them leave and...I’ll go back home without a fight.” You swallow thickly, trying hard not to let your demeanor drop and show how upset you really were at the thought of returning, but if it meant that Poe, BB8 and Finn were going to be fine then it wouldn’t matter, you would do it again in a heart beat; “please.”
Trudgen turns to Ushar and then to the other three, silently agreeing to an answer amongst themselves. Ushar simply shrugs his shoulders and that’s all Trudgen needed to pull the vibroblade from your hand and turn you to face Poe and Finn...one last time. “Only because you asked nicely.” He whispered to you, “we’re only letting all of you leave, because it was by the mercy of the ever so great Child of Ren.”
Poe opens his mouth to say something against your decision, the confliction he felt seeping through his facial expression, and as he was going to speak you interrupted him; “don’t come back for me Poe. Don’t. Please don’t.” You beg, your voice cracking as you struggled not to cry. Poe doesn’t say anything and stays quiet, keeping his eyes locked on yours before you turned away.
“Might want to kiss her goodbye, chance is she isn’t going to remember any of you when you run into each other again.” Trudgen tugs you towards Poe and Finn, raising your face to them, “no? No goodbye kiss?” He grips onto your cheeks tighter and turns you directly to Poe, “you? I know you want too.” He waits for a moment and forces you closer. Poe looks down at you, but you can’t find the nerve to meet his eyes, too afraid of reading hate in him after finding out who you were, you only mouth ‘I’m sorry”, before you were pulled back. “No? Good lad. Who knows what might’ve happened, you know, we’re just protective over little y/n.” He pushes you back so Ap’Lek could catch you in his arms.
Trudgen then instructs Kuruk to open the ramp, following by uncuffing Finn and Poe and pushing a deactivated BB8 off the ramp and to the open ramp of the ship you came on. “Bye boys, thanks for taking care of y/n. Hope she at least remembers one of you after her head gets put back in the blender.”
Poe glances at you one last time and this time you meet his gaze. His eyes frantically search your own for a sign of this being a distraction so you could escape, but as soon as he noticed you stay still and shake your head, he knew it wasn’t. He hesitated but he continued walking until he got on his ship, he stares at you longingly before closing the ramp, his figure slowly disappearing until the ramp door covered him completely.
A shaky sigh escaped your lips as you saw the ship fly away. Their was no doubt in your mind that the choice was the right one, making them leave was the right choice, you couldn’t bear with yourself if they died because of you. Telling them to not come back for your was...the right choice—why would either of them want too anyway, after they found out the truth. You were a horrible person and you knew they thought that, your mind had to keep thinking that, keep thinking that they hated you...that Poe hated you for what you hid. Thinking that helped with your hope of him coming to take you back, him coming to stop you from returning back to the first order. You didn’t want them—didn’t want him too, and yet you hoped he would.
But he wasn’t going to rescue you. He wasn’t going to stop you from going back...

You writhed in the harsh grip of the Stormtroopers as they ushered you down the marbled hall towards what you assumed would be your end. The more you fought to wrench yourself from their grasp, the more their gloved hands dug into your skin. A few feet in front you, more troopers surrounded Princess Leia, leading your small procession to the cells bellow the main hangar.
As you grunted while trying to free yourself, you noticed Leia’s head turn to the side, her eyes trying to meet yours.
“Stop fighting them, (Y/n). Not here. The more you resist, the more they resort to less affable solutions.” As she uttered the word ‘affable’, her tone became flout and she sneered at the trooper to her left. Leia’s reply halted your attempts, but in her warning you caught on to her subtle plan.
Not here. Not yet, anyway.

Arcann Imagine ●
Type: A lyric inspired imagine! Amount of words: 1000+ Song used: At My Best by MGK ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I wrote this song as a message for help Our lightsabers clashed harshly, his golden blade hissing bitterly as my fiery red blade matched his with expert precision. On behalf of anybody finding theirself I didn't want this. I was too young to die, but he had to be stopped, the weight of the galaxy on my shoulders. Where had I gone wrong? I wrote this letter to numb your pain I faltered from his next strike, soon feeling the old familiar sting of a saber- right through my core. 'Cause everyday I wake up I'm feeling the same A carbonite wall decoration. That's all I was to him for the force knows how long, frozen and left for dead. I got issues just like you got issues How could I trust Arcann? Senya laid her life down for her son on Voss- but how do I know he still doesn't harbor resentment in his heart for me? I've been hurt I've seen the scar tissue His maimed face was so close- his mask no longer part of his image, giving me a clear look into his crystal blue orbs. Right before he bowed to his knees, the former emperor pledging himself to our cause- more specifically to me. If I show you would you run away? I let my guard down. I decided to trust Arcann- take him into my Alliance, regardless of what Lana and the others had to say. Do I gotta hide 'em for you to wanna stay? I'll never forget the first night he stayed on base. So evasive- but so open all the same. The Force binds us in a way I haven't experienced in my entire lifelong journey. Do I, even need you, should I leave you? Valkorion tempted me, destroy him? I knew his father told his son the same thing. We decided to leave that past- no matter how hurtful- behind us. Do I, gotta be you, just to please you? Comprise was hard to make, but he had my back. The way he and I butt heads can be frustrating to say the least- but it only brought us closer. Do I, say I'm all good, when I bleed you The memories tore through my mind at night, I awoke in a sweat- feeling his saber tear through me again- like all those years ago. I awoke from a night terror- unaware of who to go to. So I ran right to his door, and subsequently, into his arms. Through my, heart, quit tearing mine apart I let my walls down. Arcann earned my trust, he protected me on the battmefield- and soon off of it as well. His cybernetic hand was a cooling sensation against my pale face, forcing me to look into those dangerously beautiful eyes I had been avoiding for so long. His lips brushed mine softly, so gingerly, as if I would shatter in his grasp. For such a rough looking man, he was so delicate. I shout, I swear, I get angry, I get scared Our fights were a blazen image of our love. Harsh, intense sparks that grew into a brilliant flame. Many of the times I was to blame, I questioned his feelings too much- which in turn hurt him. I never meant it of course, I just wanted some form of reassurance. I fall, I break, I mess up, I make mistakes I almost lost him on Odessen, the same way I lost Torian. That feeling of him fading through our connection, all because of my failure to come to his aide quick enough. I was lucky his mother Senya was at his side- or I might have lost my prince. But if you can't take me at my worst You don't deserve me at my best I knew he was my weak spot, as the Outlander and Commander of the Alliance I couldn't afford to look weak. But at the same time I knew I could never leave him- not after this all. I stayed by his side, my hand gripping his as I passed out in the uncomfortable medbay chair by his bedside. It was my fault he was in this position. Life is about making mistakes I was afraid. Afraid to lose him. Afraid to admit I loved him. Afraid his father would kill him if I let him too close. So I pushed the only man I've ever had feelings for away. It's also about trying to be great The pressure of having a former emperor cloud your thoughts, pushing you to claim the throne of his twisted daughter was a burden I did not want to carry. But the Alliance depended on me. So I pushed through the heartbreak and suffering that followed my decision. Do not let failure scare you away The bass rumbling of his voice still replayed over and over again in my brain like it was yesterday: "I will love you no matter what you do to push me away. I'm a fully grown man, my father cannot stop me from loving you the way you deserve. If you fail- we fail together. I will protect you until my last breath." I know you fed up, you fall, get up The battle against his father- was how I knew his words were true. The fallen prince of Zakkul proved his words with his actions helping me kill his father who loomed in my head- finally freeing me from the shackles in my mind. It's all in us, I can speak about 'cause I did it Ladies and gentlemen here's the exhibit. I was broadcasted across the galaxy, now was the time. I announced myself as the new Empress to the eternal throne with an exception- a newly changed Arcaan would be the man beside me. An emperor and an empress. It's my life look a little closer you could see the highlight Unstoppable. Our connection and our love stabilized us, as we took over the empty throne, claiming the Eternal Empire as our own. Gold ain't always golden but I told 'em Not everyone was pleased with this new change in leadership, with Vaylin and Valkorion gone- many people were skeptical of the new and improved emperor. Look at all the years I've been waiting for a moment I couldn't help but look back at how we first met- how he couldn't stand my rebellious nature as the Outlander, how he knew I inspired his people to turn. But those days are long gone. Shed a lot of tears just to smile in the morning Waking up in the morning was an adjustment for me. So many years spent alone in a cold bumpy bunk on a ship compared to now- arising to the feeling of his arms draped lazily over my body, warm and safe from all harm. I always had a smile on my face. If you can't take me at my worst You don't deserve me at my best. Being with Arcann was a gift from whatever higher being existed, but for now- I'm not going to question it. My husband, my not so prince charming, my emperor, and most of all: the love of my life. Long may we reign.
