In the event a Skylab crew developed trouble with its Apollo CSM return craft, a rescue CSM would be prepared and launched to rendezvous with the station. It would dock with the spare second side docking port of the Skylab docking module."

"Soon after Skylab 3's launch the crew's CSM developed a problem with Quad B, one of its four reaction control system thrusters. On August 2, 1973, six days later, a snowstorm-like effect outside the station startled the crew during breakfast. What appeared to be 'a real blizzard' was fuel leaking from Quad D, opposite from Quad B. The malfunctions left two available quads, and while the spacecraft could operate with just one, the leaks posed a possible risk to other systems. The fuel for all quads and the main service propulsion system (SPS) engine were from the same batch; if the SPS fuel was contaminated, the CSM might not be able to deorbit.

NASA considered bringing the crew home immediately, but because the astronauts were safe on the station with ample supplies and because plans for a rescue flight existed, the mission continued while the Saturn IB rocket AS-208 with CSM-119 was assembled in the Vehicle Assembly Building at Launch Complex 39 for possible use. It was at one point rolled out to LC-39B.

NASA announced on August 4 that Skylab 3 and Skylab 4 backup crewmen Vance Brand and Don Lind would fly any rescue mission; they had immediately begun training for the flight once the second quad had failed on August 2. After engineers found that the leaks would not disable the spacecraft, the two men used simulators to test reentry using two quads. If ground personnel worked 24 hours a day and skipped some tests, the mission could launch on September 10, and would last no more than five days. The astronauts would attempt to prepare Skylab for further use but returning experimental data and diagnosing the cause of the problem were more important, with Lind choosing what would be brought back. Human urine and feces samples and Apollo Telescope Mount and other film were the priorities. Although Skylab had two docking ports the primary one would be used if possible, jettisoning the Skylab crew's CSM if necessary.

While many within NASA believed that the rescue mission would occur, within hours of the failure of the second quad the agency canceled the rescue mission. Beyond NASA's conclusion that the failed quads would not disable the Skylab 3 CSM and the SPS fuel was uncontaminated, Brand and Lind had already shown during their training as backup Skylab crewmen that a reentry with failed quads was safe. They also devised a method to deorbit with the command module's attitude control system. Later joking that they were 'very efficient but perfectly stupid, because we have literally worked ourselves out of the mission', Brand and Lind continued to train for a rescue mission, as well as for their backup roles, but the Skylab 3 crew was able to complete its full 59-day mission on the station and safely return to Earth using the two functional RCS thruster quads, using the SPS engine once instead of twice as precaution."

Saturn IB SA-208 was used for Skylab 4 and SA-209 was assigned to the standby rescue mission. At one point, CSM-119/SA-209 was slated for the Skylab 5 mission but it was cancelled when SL-4 was extended and completed all of it objectives.

Later, CSM-119/SA-209 was the backup launch vehicle for Apollo-Soyuz Test Project mission and standby rescue vehicle. After the Apollo program ended, the surplus rocket and spacecraft were displayed at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

You don’t actually remember hitting your head - which is probably a bit of a red flag. You remember getting out of the SUV, geared up and ready to go in and arrest the unsub. And then nothing, until you woke up on the floor, blood dripping into your eye.

You were new to the team, you had only been on a few cases but you quickly felt welcomed to the team - despite not knowing them fully just yet, From what you gathered, Hotch was the father figure of the team, Rossi seemed like the cool uncle, Derek and Emily acting as older siblings, Penelope and JJ as middle siblings, and Spencer and yourself as the younger siblings (at least that seemed to be the vibes you had gotten thus far). And so, when you woke up, still in the abandoned building, surrounded by the team, you weren’t overly surprised.

“Did you get the unsub?” You asked, forcing yourself to sit up. Hotch’s hand immediately went to your shoulder, steadying you.

“Easy, kid,” Derek chimed.

“He properly conked me, huh?”

“Yep,” Emily responded, “You’ll bounce back in no time though,”

“The ambulance is on it’s way,”

“The ambulance?” You looked at Hotch and Rossi, “I’m completely fine,”

“Actually, you were unconscious for at least ten minutes, which indicates that you are, not in fact, fine.” Spencer said.

You groaned, before wincing and placing a hand on your head. “Should not have groaned,” You mumbled.

“Come on,” Hotch said, him and Morgan gently helping you stand. “I think the ambulance is here,”

“Don’t we normally have paramedics on standby?” You ask, voice a whisper.

“We weren’t exactly expecting you to get injured,” Morgan teased lightly.

Soon enough, you were all patched up and given the all clear to fly, as long as you got plenty of rest and took it easy for the next two weeks - getting in contact with a doctor if any symptoms got worse or if you developed any further symptoms. Turns out, getting injured came with its bonuses, one of which was getting the couch on the jet. Granted, Hotch and Rossi were watching over you like hawks, but you got to sleep on the couch (which was ridiculously comfortable, by the way). After just over an hour of sleeping, Hotch gently woke you up, telling you that you were back, you nodded and got up slowly. You tried not to flush red when you realised you were taking it so slow (to avoid dizziness) that five minutes had passed.

“Oh god, I’m so sorry,” You mumbled. “I’m taking forever,”

“Take as much time as you need,” JJ reassured.

Slowly but surely, you made your way down the steps. When you stepped out of the elevator, Penelope immediately lit up.

“Oh thank God you’re okay!” Penelope exclaims, immediately bringing you into a hug. This was quickly followed by a hug from JJ, Emily, and then Spencer. You watched, curious (and mildly scared) as Penelope ruffled through her bag for a moment. She handed you a small object. “Have a juicebox.” She stated.

“A juicebox?”

“A juicebox.”

You continued to stare at her in confusion, “What?- I’m so confused,”

“Whenever someone is injured, or not feeling themselves,” Garcia started, “I give them a juicebox.” She gave a shrug.

“O-oh, okay, thank you,” You stuttered out, unsure of what to do with this information. “Did you want some money for the juicebox?”

“Oh, newbie, you have so much to learn,”

Aikoto Moments Masterlist: P3R Edition

Notes:

As usual, while I'll try to cover everything, the list will focus on the non-optional moments that are there regardless of player input.

Dates are read day/month. I organized everything chronologically.

I bolded the most important ones.

The post is image heavy & contains spoilers for the entire game.

Opening

The Journey

✤ 20/07: Unknown to the player, Aigis, who was considered "inoperable", suddenly awakens when Makoto arrives to Yakushima.

✤ 21/07 - Operation Babe Hunt: The SEES Boys run into Aigis at the Yakushima dock, and a cutscene is dedicated to showing how cute she is. (Note: In P3 & P3FES, all three of them get a heart over their heads when they see her, including Makoto; this is the only time he reacts like that to a girl in the game).

✤ 21/07 - Chasing Aigis: After Makoto finally catches up to her, Aigis throws her arms around him and declares that being at his side is her highest priority. They stay like that during pretty much the entire scene.

✤ 21/07: The group is formally introduced to Aigis, who reiterates that it’s very important for her to be by Makoto’s side.

✤ 22/07: As the team fools around thanks in no small part to Aigis' prodding, Makoto thinks "With Aigis joining, things are likely to get livelier..."

✤ 24/07: Aigis wakes Makoto up 5 minutes earlier than his alarm clock and suggests she is put on standby in his room instead of the Command Room. Yukari complains about this, and the way she settles for finding a compromise by offering to get Aigis a room suggests that “[Aigis] can stay” & “I don’t care” are more likely to be chosen than "[Aigis] can't stay here."

✤ 25/07: If you go to the fortune teller, she will tell you an Aikoto-related fortune: "I see a girl... She stands between light and dark, life and simulacrum... She falters... as if not knowing on which side she belongs... Hm? She is trying to tell you something... Can you hear her words...?"

✤ 02/09: Aigis starts going to school and the person who usually sits by Makoto’s side just so happens to be missing, so Aigis gets their seat (thanks, devs!). She then proceeds to announce to the entire class that “This spot is perfect. My highest priority is to be with him at all times.”

✤ 20/09: Aigis watches over a sick, asleep Makoto only to notice his condition has improved. Despite this, she decides to keep watching over him until sunrise, showing that she was already developing emotions by then (this is further explored in a Drama CD). This scene is accessible only through the Security Camera recordings available in the Command Room.

✤ 04/11: When Aigis is controlled by Ikutsuki, Aigis manages to remember herself and her care for SEES as she and Makoto stare at each other. Once she frees them, Makoto runs to her and wraps a comforting arm around her shoulders.

✤ 17/11 - Kyoto school trip: Instead of following the girls' to their rooms, Aigis wishes to be appointed to Makoto's lol

✤ 30/11: After everyone else leaves to go study, Aigis and Makoto remain behind on their own. Aigis explains that she now understands the concept of loss, "The thought of something happening to you... It makes me..." (Note: In Japanese, Aigis says: "If something were to happen to you, if I could no longer be by your side, I…"). She also confesses that “You are very special to me… I can't explain why, but I never want to leave you side. I want to protect you at all costs, to be there for you always.” (It's important to note that Death was no longer sealed inside Makoto by this point, so Aigis' desire to remain by his side is born out of her own feelings.)

✤02/12: When Aigis greets him at school that morning and tells him she intends to protect everyone, Makoto has the option to ask what is up. If he does, Aigis asks him to please not worry. At night, we get the Moonlight Bridge Anime Cutscene and Aigis gets her memories back. She apologizes to Makoto for what she had to do. (Note: In P3 & FES, Makoto holds Aigis' hand when SEES arrive to the Moonlight Bridge - this animation was actually found within the P3R files, you can see it restored HERE.).

✤ 28/12: When you talk to Mitsuru, she says “Don't worry about Aigis. She is currently being treated with the utmost care.” So, it’s safe to assume Makoto asked about her.

✤ 30/12: Aigis is finally back. She asks Makoto how he has been holding up (one of his dialogue options is “I was worried about you.”) and apologizes for sealing Death inside him. All 3 of his Dialogue Options are supportive of Aigis: “You did what you had to”, “You had no choice” and “You did the right thing”.

✤ 25/01: Makoto has his Career Counseling meeting with Ms. Toriumi. Conveniently, Aigis' just so happens to be after his, so Ms. Toriumi asks him to go get her. Makoto finds Aigis at the rooftop, and the two share a scene where Aigis basically ends up confessing her (not-yet understood) feelings for him: “Even though Death is gone now, I… I still want to be by your side.” Aigis feels that if she's with Makoto, she can learn what it means to live. She then asks Makoto to please take her with him, because she will fight with everything she has. One of Makoto’s possible answers is: “I need you with me.”

Apparently he got pretty engrossed in their little moment, because we get a: "Oh, right. I just remembered Ms. Toriumi wanted to see Aigis." as the scene fades to black lol

✤ 31/01 - The Battle for Everyone’s souls:

As Makoto succumbs under Nyx's gravity and starts losing consciousness, we can see Aigis looking over at him and calling out his name.

Aigis is too shocked by the unexpected turn of events to react as Makoto starts levitating towards Nyx. All she can manage is a desperate plea: "No, don't go!"

Aigis’ is the last (alive) voice Makoto hears before he uses the seal (Shinji's soul being the very last voice). She begs Makoto to come back: "You promised... Didn't you? Please, you have to make it back!"

After all is said and done, Aigis laments her lack of strength. "Why am I so powerless...? Am I really unable to protect the ones important to me?! This is what I was trying to prevent!" (Note: While the line was translated in plural as "the ones", it would've been more accurate to translate it as "the one", because Aigis was talking about Makoto, who may or may not have been lost to Nyx. Case in point:)

It’s only after Aigis calls out to him and begs him to say something that we get a "I can hear everyone desperately calling out to me." and the option to reply. Her reaction is also the first we see.

Aigis is the one to notice that Makoto is coming back to them, and she takes off running to reunite with him. As SEES happily and tearfully welcomes him back, Aigis finds herself crying for the very first time. (Note: Since the animated cutscene from P3 & FES is missing in P3R, please do watch it here to see Aigis crying and Makoto getting emotional over it. It's worth it!)

✤ 04/03: Makoto and Junpei spot Aigis observing them from behind a tree. Junpei wonders if she may be interested in one of them.

✤ 05/03: Aigis comes to find Makoto before the graduation ceremony. Once she got her memories back, she feared he would disappear again. Makoto can either confirm that he remembers as well or tell her “Don’t cry”.

✤ 05/03 - Rooftop Scene: We see a few flashbacks to Aikoto scenes that were not shown before this point, including Makoto turning to look at Aigis during the Nyx fight and Aigis holding his Evoker.

Aigis thanks Makoto, because she found her reason to live thanks to him. She promises that she will always be there by his side, protecting him. Makoto wipes her tears away without player input, and her smiling face is the last thing he sees before he closes his eyes for the last time with a smile of his own.

Ending

✤ The credits begin with Makoto and end with Aigis.

✤ The ending song, Memories of You, is very clearly Aigis' POV about Makoto. She even quotes the song during her Social Link: "I will never leave you."

✤ The music playing during the New Game Screen is I'll Protect You (the sont that plays during Aikoto's rooftop scene), and the image shown is an empty classroom with Makoto's Evoker and SEES armband.

Optional Events

✤ 15/08 - If the player chooses to walk Koromaru that night, Aigis can go with Makoto. There, the player will once again be told that Aigis wants to go to the summer Festival lol

✤ 16/08 - Summer Festival: The player can choose to go to the Summer Festival with Mitsuru and Aigis. If Makoto goes with them, he can suggest that he and Aigis should hold hands, but Aigis thinks he wants to restrain her and rejects his proposal. If the player chooses to go alone, Makoto will still run into Mitsuru and Aigis, but the girls won't notice him. (Note: The game makes sure to let the player know that Aigis is planning to attend the Summer Festival.)

✤ 28/08 - Film Festival: Makoto can go to the Film Festival with Aigis. After discovering that being a ninja is the "ultimate status that a man can achieve", Aigis jokes that she will start calling Makoto like that. (Note: Once again, the game makes sure the player will know when to ask Aigis to the film festival. If the player talks to her on 27/28, it will tell you that she can go tomorrow.)

✤ 05/10 - If the player chooses to walk Koromaru that night, Aigis can go with Makoto again.

✤ 07/01 - If the player chooses to walk Koromaru that night, Aigis can go with Makoto one last time. She will ask Makoto if he wants to walk home with her tomorrow because she wants to experience the town with him, thus letting the player know that Aigis' S-Link is about to begin.

✤ 29/01 - Last Walk with Koromaru: All of SEES go together for this special occasion, and we see everyone hanging out in pairs. Makoto and Aigis are together, playing with Koromaru. We're told that "Everyone is having fun, as if trying to make the most of this moment..."

✤ 31/01: If Aigis is in the player's party during the fight against Nyx, she will tell Makoto that she's with him until the very end.

Social Activities

✤ Gardening: Starting on July 17, there are three different gardening events with Aigis. At the end, Aigis will decide that she wants to do her best to make her way in the world, like Makoto and everyone else.

✤ Reading: This activity unlocks in September and also features three different events, during which Aigis learns that staying true to her beliefs and having a strong heart are the best ways to look dependable. Aikoto-wise, the highlights are the first and second events. During the first, Aigis and Makoto read together from the same book and Aigis essentially asks him to show her his butt. During the second, Makoto has the option to reply "a cute girl" when Aigis asks what she looks like to everyone else.

✤ Studying: On 10/11, Aigis will ask Makoto to study with her so they can learn more about each other. Ken and Koromaru will join them, and the event will end with Aikoto carrying a sleeping Ken to his room.

✤ 08/01 - Social Link: Aigis' Social Link, The Aeon, can be started on January 8. It features a platonic and a romantic route. In the platonic route, Aigis and Makoto agree to be best friends and they take a selfie together. In the romantic route, Makoto touches Aigis' Papillon heart. Both routes can be watched HERE.

Misc

✤ If Makoto dates Aigis and goes to Tartarus with her, she will have special dialogues (like in P3P).

Honestly I think a lot of why Detective Conan has been going on for so long and so many plots are left dangling is that Gosho wants to resolve all of them - but in order to focus on one plot, he puts another on hold.

And then he decides to add in another several characters, who all have their own plot lines to fill out and finish.

So there's a good dozen or so lines, and one exit; none of the others can move while one line is going through, unless they're temporarily merged. Meaning that each time one line is moving forward, the others are put on standby.

Some cases are related to the past, some are normal everyday things, some have plot elements but you could theoretically take those elements and put them into the background of another case entirely, and some are fun but ultimately they don't progress more than their own line.

That's how you get things like "It takes several dozen odd volumes for Kaito and Conan to bring up how they look so similar" as well as "Ran may well still suspect Conan is Shinichi, but so much else is happening that Gosho has put that on hold, so that until he's ready for her to resume that train of thought, she simply will not develop that thought further than she already has."

Wanting to follow Steph's footsteps, also being exposed to football quite early on from Steph, she joined the local team along with joining Melbourne City's Football School from age 5. At age 9 was invited to City's Select Squad program. After a few years working with Academy Coaches she was invited to train and trial with the a-league women's first team. After months of training and gaining experience with the first team she got her debut game. Beating Sam's record of being the youngest player to debut in the a-league women and she always brings it up to knock Sam's ego down a bit.

The younger Catley made the move to England and the WSL before Steph did. Manchester City having seen potential in the young player and that she would fit well in the WSL. A season on loan to get the minutes to develop further as a player on the pitch. Once returned the younger Catley fit right in with Manchester City, getting a few starts throughout the 21/22 season. Being an integral part in the 21/22 Conti Cup campaign and final helping Manchester City to win earning her to start almost every match the following season across all competitions for the 22/23 season.

Named in the WSL team of the year and with a contract ending with Manchester City at the end of the season, Arsenal were very interested in signing the younger Catley. Several other clubs across the WSL and throughout Europe were quite interested but Steph being at Arsenal that swayed her decision just wanting to be close and play with Steph again.

Junior matilda's (U17) -> young matilda's (U20) -> matilda's being a standby player for the matildas 2019 world cup campaign but not making a debut for the matildas until 2021

Quite the player, a little prodigy and she always credits Steph for her interest in the sport (she really looks up to her sister and is incredibly proud and hopes that she can make the family just as proud as Steph)

i think i might? im not sure what more to do with him at the moment, so he's kinda on standby. i still like him so ill def go back to drawing him in miserable sad situations one day, i dunno when .. i feel that way a bout most of my ocs and stories, i really would like to continue working on and developing things further but i dont. know. what to do loll..

ive never been good with narratives, i have a hard time remembering things and coming up with ideas.. my strengths are only in my designs and compositions i think.

Complicated - Day 2

Summary: A cat and mouse game between Bucky and the mafia as he tries to keep Rita safe.

Length: 3.25K

Characters: Bucky, Rita, Sam, Gudonov (Russian mobster), Markov (Russian mobster), Nick Fury.

Warnings: Violence (both used and implicated), graphic description of physical violence causing injury, Bucky having flashbacks of time as Winter Soldier, and previous Avenger mission. If you are of Russian heritage, I’m sorry for making them the villains.

Author’s note: This just keeps getting darker, and more complicated. What seemed to be Bucky going to Delacroix for a relaxing week in Day 1, is actually him looking for some calm after a harrowing mission went wrong. Hint of feelings developing between Bucky and Rita.

Bucky briefly left Rita on her own at the motel while he withdrew cash from his bank account at the local branch and picked up some fast food for them to eat in the room, knocking on the motel room door with a specific sequence so she knew it was him when he returned. She had showered while he was gone and was already in her night clothes. As they ate, he decided to text Sam and let him know they were at the motel, receiving an acknowledgement from him but no further word on anything else.

“Do you mind if we leave the TV on?” she asked. “I can’t stop thinking about everything and maybe the background noise will help me fall asleep.”

“Go ahead,” he said. “I’m going to take a shower and will probably go to sleep as well.”

When he came out it was after midnight and Rita seemed to be asleep. He pulled the pillow and a blanket off of his bed, then took an extra blanket from the closet to lay on the floor closer to the door. Following some grounding exercises, he fell asleep relatively quickly for him.

The sound of people talking outside roused him several hours later as he could swear he heard Russian being spoken. Slowly making a small opening in the curtains he noticed several men gathered near his motorcycle. Listening carefully, he managed to hear them talk about the woman being seen getting on a motorcycle just like his. One of them was on his cell phone and he could hear them asking whoever was on the other end to check the registration. Quickly, he picked up his cell phone and texted Sam, muting the sound on it so he wouldn’t give up his position.

Bucky: Three Russians outside the motel room door, checking out my motorcycle. One is on his cell phone. I think he has someone checking my registration.

It took a moment for Sam to respond but he seemed to be on top of it.

Sam: Standby. Alerting IT to check cell phone usage near your twenty.

Stepping towards the bed where the sleeping woman was, he placed a hand on her shoulder while gently whispering.

“Rita, wake up.” She stirred then looked groggily at him before sitting up. “We have visitors. I need you to get dressed quietly, in the dark if you can.”

Without hesitating she got out of the bed and pulled her shorts off, putting the jeans on that she wore the day before. Digging into the backpack she pulled out another T-shirt and some clean socks. Turning her back to him she pulled her sleep shirt off and put the T-shirt on then the socks, followed by her shoes. He was already dressing as well, taking care not to make any excessive noise. Then he took the blankets and pillow from the floor, tossing them on his bed. He heard his cell phone vibrate and picked it up, reading Sam’s message.

Sam: We’ve changed your motorcycle registration to be registered to your alias. IT has also managed to hack into the guy’s phone. It’s registered to a Vladimir Gudonov. They’re checking priors right now.

Bucky returned to the window, watching the three men and listening to their conversation.

“You can hear that?” asked Rita in a low voice.

“Yeah, sensitive hearing,” he replied. “They’re Russian and they’re interested in my motorcycle. Right now, they’re finding out it’s registered to a retired police officer and wondering if they want to make a move on the owner.”

“If they do?”

He looked at her worried face and smiled. “No problem. If they do, I want you to stay out of the way. Lock yourself in the bathroom. I’ll tell you when it’s safe to come out and we’ll leave immediately.”

“What if they hurt you?”

“I’ve had to fight multiple people at one time more than once,” he explained, resisting the urge to place his palm on her face. “I won’t let them get to you.”

He heard something and looked out the window again, seeing and hearing the man with the phone order the other men to find out which room the police officer was in.

“Get in the bathroom and lock the door,” ordered Bucky. “Don’t come out until I tell you.”

He took the helmets and her backpack, placing them in the bathroom. Then he opened his saddlebags that he brought in the night before and pulled out a wrapped package. Placing the saddlebags in the bathroom he gestured to her to lock it. Once he heard the lock engage, he unrolled the package on the bed, revealing a set of several knifes, two handguns, some mags and a bundle of long zip ties. He didn’t want to wake anyone if he could help it, so he left the guns in the package but pulled two knives out, placing one in each boot, then taking the remaining two and flipping them in the dark, catching them expertly before putting them in his jacket pocket. He also took several zip ties. Resuming his post at the window he calmed himself, waiting for the moment when the men approached the door.

The two who went to the motel office came back and he heard them tell the third man the room number that he and Rita were in. Waiting for them to approach the door he heard one of them lift his foot to kick the door in and opened it just before his foot connected, making the man fall face first into the doorway. Picking him up by the shoulders of his jacket he threw him at the other two men knocking them over. Grabbing the guns of the two men he hit them both in the head with the butt, knocking them out then held one of the guns to the third man’s head. That man put his hands up in surrender then tried to grab the gun. With his free hand Bucky slipped a knife out of his boot, then stabbed the man in the hand, making him swear and hesitate in his actions. Pulling the knife out he held it to the man’s throat.

“I’m much faster than you and can hurt you in many different ways,” said Bucky, in Russian.

“You don’t know who you’re up against,” replied the man, through gritted teeth.

“I was going to say the same to you,” smiled Bucky, in a way that he hoped made him look a little unhinged. “Into the room.”

Pulling the chair over from the desk, Bucky put the man into it then pulled out a couple of zip ties as he placed the knife back in his pocket.

“Don’t move,” he warned him. “I won’t hesitate to slit your throat.”

After fastening each wrist separately to the chair behind the man’s back, then doing the same to his ankles, Bucky then dragged the other two men inside and placed them on their bellies, tying their wrists together behind their backs. Pulling their belts off he tightened them around their knees then zip tied their ankles together. Only then, did he turn on the light. Bucky took his phone out and took the man’s picture, then raised the heads of the other two, taking their pictures as well, texting them to Sam.

“You speak English?” he asked.

“Yes,” was the answer, given sullenly.

“You’re Vladimir Gudonov?” asked Bucky. The man looked surprised at being identified. “I’ll take that as a yes. Why are you here?”

The man smirked. “Why are any of us here?”

Bucky slapped him, drawing blood from the man’s lip. “Start talking or I start hurting.”

Gudonov gave out an angry breath then looked to his left. “Looking for someone who stole something from us.”

Bucky slapped him again, with his left hand this time, which hurt more as Gudonov swore in Russian.

“You’re lying. Try again.”

“Looking for a woman,” he spat. “She belongs to us.”

Placing the tip of the knife at the man’s knee Bucky dragged it up Gudonov’s thigh, cutting the fabric but not cutting the skin. It came very close to the man’s crotch, and he visibly tensed.

“People are not property,” stated Bucky, in an eerily calm voice. “Why would you believe that you own her?”

“She was payment for a debt,” said Gudonov. “Her boyfriend wasn’t as good a poker player as he thought.”

“But you killed him. That wipes out the debt, doesn’t it?”

The man said nothing, and Bucky placed the knife against his crotch. “When I was an assassin, I was ordered to bring a man in to my handler. Normally, I would have just killed him but my handler wanted to make an example of him, so I tracked him down and took him back. They stripped him naked and strung him up by his hands from a hook in the ceiling. Then my handler asked if anyone knew how to do a castration.”

“He was killed because she escaped,” said Gudonov quickly. “She was to marry the Pakhan’s son so that he could stay in America legally as the husband of an American citizen. The son was very angry when she escaped and lost his temper with her boyfriend, shooting him in the back of the head.”

“What’s his name?” asked Bucky, in a voice so soft that, for a moment, Gudonov thought he misheard.

He didn’t answer and the knife started to press into the man’s crotch.

“Markov!” screamed Gudonov, “Alexei Markov. Please stop! I’ll tell you anything.”

Pulling the knife away Bucky texted Sam with the name of the son, identifying him as the killer of Jason Tierney. Then he added that Gudonov had agreed to talk. He looked sternly at the frightened man.

“If you tell the authorities everything, I won’t come looking for you,” said Bucky. “But if you go back on your word, I will find you and do the castration myself. Now that I’ve done it once I’m sure I’ll be better at it the second time around.”

Bucky’s phone vibrated and he read the text.

Sam: some trusted associates are coming to take the three men into custody. ETA 15 minutes

Bucky: I may have threatened Gudonov to get a confession.

Sam: Is he still alive? Can he walk?

Bucky: Absolutely.

Sam: No problem. I assume you’re going to head back out so give me the room number.

Bucky: #27. They may have hurt the desk clerk to find our room. Have our associates check on him. I gave him $100 not to give us up.

Sam: Will do. See you at the safe house.

Bucky stood up and placed his knives, except for the one that he always kept in his boot, back in the leather wrapping, along with the other zip ties. Then he knocked on the bathroom door.

“It’s alright, you can come out now. We’re leaving.”

The door unlocked and all he saw were Rita’s frightened eyes. Smiling at her, he picked up his saddle bags and put the leather package back inside, at the bottom of one of them. Then he picked up his helmet while Rita put her backpack on and picked up hers.

“Put it on,” he said calmly. “I don’t want him to see your face. You don’t have to hurt your eyes looking at his ugly face either.”

She did as she was told, putting the darkened visor down, and waited for him as he stood in front of Gudonov.

“Some people are coming to pick you and your two friends up,” he said. “They’re going to be asking you a lot of questions. I suggest you be truthful when you answer them. You don’t want me coming back.” He stood up, nodding at Rita, then looked at the man again and spoke in Russian. “Everything I told you is true as I was the Fist of HYDRA for many years. I was never given a choice when I was given an order. These days, I don’t kill but I have no problem maiming you if you look for this woman again. I will cut them both off and stuff them in your mouth until you choke on them. Remember that.”

Gudonov nodded his head briefly and Bucky escorted Rita out. After fastening his saddle bags onto his motorcycle, he mounted it, waiting for her to get on behind him. Before he turned it, she spoke.

“Is what you told him true?” she asked. “I was listening through the door.”

He breathed out audibly and bowed his head for a moment. “Yes, it’s true,” he replied. “I did many terrible things for HYDRA but never by choice.” He placed his right hand on hers. “I told him that if he ever comes looking for you, I will hurt him, severely. You’re safe with me, Rita. Believe that.”

“Thank you,” she said immediately. “I feel safe with you, Bucky.”

She hugged him from behind and he patted her hands with his right hand. Turning the key, he started the motorcycle and backed up, then pulled out of the parking lot. About a mile down the road several dark SUVs raced by them, going in the other direction, and Bucky smiled, recognizing them as the associates. As they travelled through Jackson towards the highway to Memphis, he noticed that the eastern sky was starting to lighten. It would be dawn soon and the chances of being spotted by a corrupt sheriff or possibly even a bounty hunter were going to be higher. It would take about 3 ½ hours to get to the safe house and they weren’t out of the woods yet. He smirked, noticing the trees on either side of the road they were on. It reminded him that he would have to be vigilant as anyone could be hiding and waiting for them.

An hour later, just before the sun peaked over the eastern horizon, they entered a stretch of highway that was fairly isolated. Most of the traffic they had encountered was of the commercial truck kind, moving goods from one location to another. Bucky contemplated stopping for a quick meal break, concerned about Rita handling the ride. Just as he noticed a sign for food services in a nearby town, he became aware of a semi-truck driving a little too closely behind them. Increasing his speed a little, he watched as it kept pace. He increased his speed a little more and it matched him. As they drew closer to truck traffic ahead of them, he noticed another semi coming up on the left side. A semi ahead of them matched their speed and he found the motorcycle boxed in on three sides by semis, with a concrete barrier on the right. With a sigh he made a voice call to Sam.

“They found us,” he said. “We’re boxed in by semis on the I55, north of the 404 turnoff. You better send help. I’ll hold them off as long as I can.”

“Bucky, be careful,” said Sam. “That Gudonov guy said they have a lot of firepower.”

The super soldier was quiet for a moment. “I’m not going to back down, Sam. After that last mission, I’m done holding back.”

For a moment he had a vision of their last mission when he was ordered not to go in without backup. By the time the others arrived the terrorists had killed most of the hostages. It was why he was on his way to Delacroix, needing time to deal with what he saw as his failure to protect the hostages, needing the support of the fishing community that treated him as one of their own.

It was Sam’s turn to be quiet. When he spoke, it was with resignation. “We’ll get there as soon as we can. Do what you must to keep you both alive.”

“Understood,” replied Bucky. “Sam? Thanks.”

“We’ll find you, Buck, I promise.”

He ended the call and decided to test the skill of the truck drivers, trying to zip through the narrow gap on the right side but they closed the gap skillfully and slowed down, leaving him no choice but to slow with them. As he stopped the bike beside the concrete barrier, he pulled his helmet off and turned to Rita, as several men with machine guns came from the back of the truck in front of them.

“When I engage them, you go over the barrier and run,” he said. “As fast and far as you can.”

She took her helmet off and put her hand on his arm. “I’m not leaving you,” she replied, her eyes going glassy. “They’ll come after me.”

“Rita, please.”

She didn’t get a chance to answer as another man came towards them from behind the armed men. Bucky watched the man smirk at Rita, then put himself between them when the man went to pull her towards him, desperate to keep Rita safe but afraid of her getting hurt.

“Leave her alone,” he said, his voice icy but calm.

“She belongs to me, Soldat,” said the man. “Now, you belong to me as well.”

He glanced at another man, nodding slightly at him. The man pulled out a taser and activated it, hitting Bucky in the neck. Even though he fought the charge for as long as he could a third man hit him with another charge sending Bucky to his knees. The last thing he saw before he passed out was Rita being led away to a limousine.

Twenty minutes later a helicopter landed in the middle of the highway behind the barrier of two black SUVs which blocked traffic from coming near the motorcycle that was parked next to the concrete barrier. Smashed on the ground next to the motorcycle was Bucky’s cell phone. Two helmets lay beside it. A man in a dark suit approached Sam and Fury who had exited the helicopter.

“Taser leads,” said the man. “Four leads, two Taser weapons.”

“Send units to all the places identified with Markov,” ordered Fury. “Bring in special forces assistance if you have to. I want them hit hard.”

“What if he’s taken them out of the country?” asked Sam. “Bucky’s a big prize to a Russian mobster.”

“I’ve already got someone monitoring the airfields,” said Fury, looking at his cell phone. “A private jet just took off from one twenty miles away. They seem to be headed for New York. I’m guessing Alexei Markov is going after some big fish and thinks the Winter Soldier is just the weapon he needs to make his father proud.”

“Send me their position,” said Sam. “I can monitor them from the air.”

Fury texted the information to Sam who brought it up on his suit. With a grimace he lifted off into the air. Fury made a call on his cell phone.

“Activate everyone,” he said. “Barnes and a material witness have been taken hostage. Details to come.” He looked at the man in the suit. “Make sure Barnes’ motorcycle gets to the compound in one piece. Bring the helmets and issue him a new phone.”

As he headed towards the helicopter, he felt rather optimistic. After what Vladimir Gudonov told them of Barnes’ interrogation of him, Alexei Markov really didn’t understand the man he was hoping to use. The mobster thought it would be simple to force the former Winter Soldier into working for him, but Barnes wasn’t simple. He was much more complicated than most people realized, and Fury was counting on that.

What must you sacrifice to protect the ones you love?

A former legend in the yakuza world, Kazuma Kiryu fakes his death in order to protect his loved ones.

Having become an agent for the Daidoji Faction and assigned the codename “Joryu,” Kiryu hunts down an illegal gold smuggling site in the Port of Yokohama. It was supposed to be an easy assignment; little more than loose change for the organization. When he arrives, he finds several dozen Daidoji agents on standby. Despite having reached the rank of chairman within the Tojo Clan, Kiryu has maintained a relatively low profile among his peers here. Unable to resist their provocation, he ends up violently lashing out, which only widens the gaping hole inside him.

However, at that very moment, a mysterious group shows up.

The deal had gone sour. No outsider should have known about it. And amid the chaos and confusion, the shady group seems to recognize Kiryu. They mustn’t be allowed to vanish into the shadows.

Though he had severed all ties to his past, Kazuma Kiryu finds himself stepping into the maelstrom of the underworld once more…

Kazuma Kiryu (portrayed by Takaya Kuroda)

A former legendary yakuza who has erased his past and name.

A former legendary yakuza who made a pact with the Daidoji Faction and discarded his past. Once famed as the Dragon of Dojima, Kiryu reached as high as Chairman of the Tojo Clan. He also ran the Morning Glory Orphanage in Okinawa for a time. However, all traces of his past life have been buried away, and he intends to keep it that way. Forever cut off from his children at the orphanage, Kiryu aimlessly fills the void with missions from the Daidoji Faction.

Kosei Shishido (portrayed by Yasukaze Motomiya)

“If ya wanna beat me, you’ll have to kill me first. There ain’t no rules in a deathmatch!”

The Watase Family’s ace-in-the-hole.

The Watase Family is the most powerful group within the Omi Alliance and is led by Masaru Watase, who is next-in-line to become chairman of the alliance.

A capable lieutenant within the family, Shishido wields deadly weapons without any regard for his victims’ lives. He commands authority through terror and intimidation.

Yuki Tsuruno (portrayed by Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi)

“There’s no use playing dumb. I just get the job done—no questions asked!”

A yakuza sworn to the Watase Family.

Tsuruno is a captain of Watase Family and its second highest-ranking member. A bold and meticulous planner, he leads the group in the absence of its head with loyalty and tenacity. He has laid a mountain of traps to ensnare Kiryu.

Akame (portrayed by First Summer Uika)

“The truth is, yer nothin’ on yer own.”

A shadowy figure who knows the ins and outs of Sotenbori.

Akame is a jack-of-all-trades based in Sotenbori, Osaka. She is deeply acquainted with the city’s underbelly thanks to her Akame Network, which spans across every nook and cranny of the city. She also acts as an intermediary for a certain person, guiding them to their destination.

Homare Nishitani III (portrayed by Kim Jaeuck)

“That ain’t your real name, am I right? …Aren’t you s’posed to be dead?”

Third patriarch of the Kijin Clan, a direct subsidiary of the Omi Alliance.

Nishitani is a young yakuza who quickly rose up through the ranks and took over as head of the Kijin Clan. His dashing looks betray the madness swirling beneath. He loves nothing more than to put his life on the line in a fight to the death. Within the Omi Alliance, Nishitani is an immensely influential figure on par with Watase.

Kihei Hanawa (portrayed by Hiroki Tochi)

“Your next job just came in. For codename Joryu, of course.”

Leader of the Daidoji Faction.

As a handler for the Daidoji Faction, Hanawa serves as the only point of contact between Kazuma Kiryu and the outside world. His interactions with Kiryu are strictly professional and lack any warmth. He shows no hesitancy in reprimanding the legendary yakuza.

■ Organizations

Omi Alliance

Japan’s largest yakuza organization based in Osaka. With the weakening of its former longtime enemy the Tojo Clan, the Omi Alliance is on the brink of ruling all of Japan.

Daidoji Faction

A group with deep ties to politics and industry, who secretly inherited the wealth and authority of the late “Fixer of the Showa Era,” Minoru Daidoji.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on November 9.

Things had been different for the last week after the Stampede for everyone. For one thing, the cub found himself almost constantly within Scar's company with the exception of visiting his Mother. It was early one morning that Simba found himself awake only to spy three elongated shadows extending on the cave floor. "U-Uncle Scar?" he said as he laid in the male's paws. "Something's there... Is it... Is it Dad?" He sounded hopeful and yet the cub knew it was wishful thinking. "Dad? Is that you?" he called out. Weird shape for him to be in though...

The plan had been to kill both Simba and Mufasa. Scar even had a plan for what to do if only Simba died and not Mufasa. But for the cub to defy the odds while his father perished? The hyenas were on standby, ready to chase after the cub at a moment's notice, but an idea crossed Scar's mind.

Would it not look suspicious if he claimed both were dead, but only had one corpse to prove it? Simba was still young - so young that his mane had yet to properly start developing. It would still be some time before Simba was 'of age' to take the throne. If he were to be the dutiful uncle and take care of Simba, he would be the ruler in the interim, providing him with time to either make Simba the puppet king, or find a way to dispose of him.

No one else in the pride was happy about the introduction of the hyenas, but Scar knew it was a necessity to uphold his part of the deal. If anything, it provided something different for the lionesses to think about beyond Mufasa's death. They should be grateful for that!

As the days passed, Scar found Simba surprisingly more tolerable than he had been before any of this happened. When Scar made the decision for Simba to spend most of the time with him, there was no objecting or protesting. After all... How best to keep him out of further trouble?

On the fateful morning, Scar had faintly registered the sound of his name. Simba was certainly an early bird, and it was easier to let him have the few minutes to himself before he would get up. He didn't stop the cub from scrambling out to explore.

The three shadows were not Mufasa. Instead, they were hyenas had been in the Elephant Graveyard.

"Well well... If it isn't the cub with the weak roar," snickered the female hyena. "Didn't think we'd have breakfast handed to us today."

"Yeah... I think you still owe us a cub sandwich, kid." One male added, while the other giggled in agreement. All three slowly advanced toward the cub, but none made an effort to actually strike.

On the Geneology of Liger Zoids

Here is a long post detailing the relationships between these zoids as I understand them.

So starting from the right-hand side of this chart, we have the older ligers/lion types. I assume that at least one of these types are mechanized versions of this->

which is from the continent of Delpoi, which was initially ruled entirely by the Helic Republic before a schism formed in the royal family that led to the first Helic Republic/Zenebus Empire war.

From this species came 2 machine beasts, one developed by each faction

And, of course, our old standby,

Just going by the chart it seems like Zenebus never further developed their ligers, which is the complete opposite than the Helic Republic, who developed a new fuselage for the core type

And then improved upon the design with a 2nd iteration.

From this point onward the Kings seemed to be either phased out or just declared "good enough" and R&D centered squarely on the Shield Liger; I will focus on the linear Shieldy->Blades lineage here because to avoid bloating the post, I'll detail their off-shoots later.

So after the Shield Liger came...

After which came MK-II & MK-II B

What really catches my attention is the construction of the laser blade mount-

and its resemblance to->

The high-output ion boosters on the blade arms of the Liger Zero Schneider. I can't be sure though, since I assume the weapons and equipment list only includes features common to all 3 versions.

So at this point the old Delpoian Ligers' core is deemed to be of insufficient strength by the Republican Army, which left them at a developmental dead end; the Imperial Army meanwhile has begun to develop a fuselage based on this-

From the western continent of Europa. Their prototype was stolen by the Republican Army and thus we got 2 versions of the resulting zoid:

These zoids were designed partly around the concept of the Changing Armor System (CAS), which makes the zoid suitable for a variety of different missions. I won't cover all the CAS units since I assume that most zoids fans are familiar with them, so I'll just be posting the versions that seem to have never left the hobby publications.

So first I will show the Imperial side,

So basically the Empire took a very stealth based approach to their ligers.

Next, one of my very favorites <3

So firstly, I wonder what this zoids' top speed looks like. 2nd, those drill swords might be the most terror-inducing weapons on a Liger Zero beside the Panzer's homing missiles. 3rd, it's equipped with a little spy drone on it's tail!

So up next->

I don't have anything to add, I just know nothing. I seems to link directly back to the Ultimate Liger, so maybe it was intended to be an Imperial Zoid?

And last & absolutely least:

Yup. A CAS that concerts the Liger Zero into a buffed Shield Liger. It just doesn't thrill or interest me, even though I won't deny it's versatility.

“Having fun?” Clockwork asked floating into the throne room.

“It’s been a boring few days,” Danny sighed as he flipped himself upside down. “Anything that I can do oh great master of time?” Danny asked, a cocky smile on his face.

“I have something that could use your attention,” Clockwork offered as he handed Danny the file.

“So what is it?” Danny asked, flipping through the papers, never reading.

“You’ve been king for over fifty years and you still don’t read the reports,” Clockwork shook his head.

“Not my fault. I read the super important things, but this is something that you could easily tell me,” Danny shrugged.

“A child ghost was found causing trouble in one of the further realms. Died recently, but no one was there to care for him and his core has started to shatter. Think you can fix the core or at least bring him back here for Frostbite to fix?” Clockwork asked.

“I’ve never fixed a shattered core before,” Danny thought as he looked at his ring. The voices of the ring and crown in his head are normal at this point.

“It’s not an easy task, but if we can’t fix the core we will have to give him a final death. I know it’s not a happy thought, but it’s like a sick dog. We could keep the child alive but he will be in misery. A shattered core is one of the most painful things a ghost, especially one that hasn’t been dead long and can go through,” Danny was thinking it over as Clockwork explained.

“I’ll be back in about let’s say twenty minutes?” Danny smirked as he disappeared with a snap of his fingers.

“Ever since he learned that trick he uses it every time he can,” Clockwork rolled his eyes, but waited nonetheless as Danny appeared again holding a small shaking ghost child.

“He’s not doing too well, doesn’t remember who he was when he was alive and the core is causing extreme pain. I don’t know if I can fix it. The crown and ring aren’t helping. We might have to go to frostbite with this one,” Danny looked down.

“I already have frostbite on standby,” Clockwork led the king toward a room set up with Frostbite and his doctors.

Danny easily handed the child over to the yetis as Clockwork talked to him.

“Do you know why his core started to shatter?” Danny asked.

“I suppose your lessons haven’t covered this yet, but when a new ghost is formed, especially that of a child, they need a parent ghost. Someone to help teach them how to feed from the pure ectoplasm and get rid of the extra energy within them. If they have too much energy and don’t know how to use it this can cause the core to start to shatter.”

“Why wasn’t my core ever shattered?” Danny asked.

“We found you in time. Cores are strange things that we still do not have full information on. We know they have to be developed but a core shattering all depends on the ghost and the will of the ghost. You still went into the zone and Amity had plenty of wild ectoplasm in the human realm. You used your powers often so you fed and got rid of the extra energy often. Then you were found by your allies such as Frostbite and myself. We took you in and gave you lessons. Helped you develop your core to its full potential. Even unlocking its element,” Danny looked up in surprise.

“You mean my ice core?”

“Well, not every ghost has an elemental core. Those have to be unlocked by a powerful ghost,” Clockwork informed him, laughing at Danny’s amazed face. “Nothing to do now, but wait,” the ghost floated away leaving Danny to wait.

“Well great one, the child is fine. We were able to repair the core. The child will need a parent ghost. Once the child is awake and feeling better I’ll bring him to Dora’s kingdom. They're always accepting of new ghosts,” Frostbite said, looking towards the door.

“Could I be the ghost parent?” Danny asked.

“Are you sure great one? I know in your human years you’ve been considered of age for a great while now, but in ghost years you just barely ended your teenage years?” Frostbite asked, shocked at the words that came out of Danny’s mouth.

“I’m sure. I don’t mind. Plus it might make my life more exciting. I’ll have yours and Clockworks help if I need anything,” Danny said, gently opening the door to look inside. The shaking child that Danny had rescued just a day ago was now sleeping calmly.

“Yeah, I’m sure,” Danny smiled at the yeti.

“Then I’ll leave you with his care package. The child will be thankful my king,” Frostbite smiled.

It was two days later when the ghost child woke up.

“Hey, how are you feeling?” Danny asked.

“I was in so much pain. I was tired and hungry and just in pain. Am I better now?” the small ghost asked.

“Yep! I found you and we were able to fix your core. To make sure it doesn’t happen again I was wondering if you wanted to stay here with me?” Danny asked gesturing to the room.

“What about my family? I don’t fully remember them. I was sick and I remember my mommy telling me that I was going to go away for a long time. Later that night it was dark,” the small ghost asked quietly.

“We had a feeling that you wouldn’t remember. Well, you were really sick and died. An older ghost wasn’t able to find you in time to take care of you so your core ended up shattering. I’m willing to be your parent ghost,” Danny informed the child.

“So I don’t have to leave?”

“You can stay here as long as you want,” Danny assured him,

“I would like that very much Mr. Danny sir,” the ghost said politely.

“Don’t call me sir,” Danny laughed as the ghost blushed.

“I’m sorry!”

“Don’t apologize. I don’t like formal titles. You can call me really anything you like. Most just call me Danny. What’s your name?”

“Lyle,” the small ghost said.

“Well, Lyle let me be the first to welcome you to Phantom’s keep,” Danny smiled as the ghost hugged him and thanked him.

So I've worked out what the two games from this post will be. Both of them are my own ideas.

Sally's Outstanding Adventure!

A point-and-click adventure game that starts out looking like a cute little edutainment game in a bright, cheerful nonsense world. The main cast consists of Sally herself, a little girl who enjoys exploring, Miss Morning, the game's narrator who Sally is able to hear and talk to, a large hairy creature with a surly disposition named Grumfrey who accompanies Sally on her adventures to keep her safe, and Scrub, a strange, vaguely ducklike-creature who stays in Sally's house. In the game, Sally goes out on her biggest adventure yet, heading out further than ever before. But as the journey goes on, strange things begin happening, and dark cracks begin to appear in the happy facade of this world.

As the game goes on, it's revealed in bits and pieces that almost everything Sally thinks she knows about her world, and herself, is wrong. She's actually Survey Android 13, a malfunctioning research drone deployed to study a hostile alien jungle, with the malfunction being the result of damage from an incident a few months ago, which horribly scrambled her programing and traumatized her to the point where she ran away from reality. Miss Morning is actually her base's computer, who developed the narrator persona so that they could relay instructions for Sally's research missions in a manner that could be understood and accepted through the delusion. Scrub is actually a floor cleaning device. Grumfrey turns out to be a massive, dangerous apex predator native to the jungle that happened to decide to use SA-13's base as its den. The big adventure they're on is a mission to find and rescue the crew of a ship that crashed nearby.

And yet, even with the reveal that her world is a lot darker than she thought it was, there's still plenty of light as well. The whole reason the illusion is breaking is because the scientists who deployed her finally managed to develop a patch that would fix her programing. It was supposed to do its work all in one go while she was in standby mode, and would have if it hadn't been for the rescue mission requiring she reactivate early. Morning gradually drops the narrator schtick as the game goes on, with their instructions becoming more direct and computer-like, but their tone stays just as kind and gentle as it was at the start, still giving little bits of encouragement when she stumbles and congratulating her on tasks well done, because they genuinely care for the little robot they're in charge of, to the point where during moments where Sally's in genuine danger they're as terrified as a parent seeing their child in such a situation. Scrub is...well, its honestly just a Space Roomba but that's really not too different from before. And despite how terrifying Grumfrey's true nature is, he really is Sally's big, grumpy, protective friend, and stays just as helpful in the second half of the game as he was in the first.

They do manage to rescue the survivors of the crash, and Sally ends up accepting her restored reality...though she does decide to keep her new name.

Diamind 6: Stars Go Out

A space-age JRPG about a young man named Cole going on an adventure to save his galaxy from two major threats; a multi-system empire that's attempting to expand their rule across the entire galaxy (with Cole actually being part of an official Resistance that formed to fend off this empire), and the titular Diamind, an ancient powerful demon that awakens every 10,000 years and attempts to bring about the apocalypse (all the Diamind games take place in the same universe, with Diamind being a major threat in all of them). Cole has a mysterious connection to Diamind that gives him unusual powers and marks him as the only person who can re-seal Diamind when it awakens.

One of the major reoccurring antagonists in the game is a scientist with a grudge against Cole and an interest-bordering-on-obsession with his Diamind powers. He betrays the resistance during the prologue, beginning Cole's adventure in the first place, and shows up periodically to cause trouble for the party. One of the most interesting things about him is that he actually does figure out how Cole's powers work, using that knowledge to create a robot with all of Cole's weapons and abilities, including a forced connection to Diamind so it could genuinely have all of his abilities. The party calls it RepliCole because it pisses the scientist off. It's a reoccurring boss throughout the game, until after the fifth or sixth time where the party manages to shut it down and take it back to resistance HQ.

This becomes relevant again about 3/4ths of the way through the game when Cole is mortally wounded and their best chance of saving him is to upload his mind into RepliCole. So now he's a robot, but there's no time for existential crises 'cause we got a galaxy to save!

Anyway, we've got typical JRPG climax stuff after that. Empire is toppled, demon is sealed, day is saved, Cole's still a robot. Roll Credits.

Anyway, as far as the activation attempt goes, I'm gonna have it so the games get merged together, with Sally's planet getting integrated into Cole's universe, and the Avatar programming gets split between them like it did with the Arles. 33 ends up as Sally's recolor while 34 ends up as Cole's, because the idea of the inherently violence-prone odd-number SMG getting the body of a tiny defenseless research drone while the can't-fight-to-save-their-life even-number SMG gets the extremely powerful and full of weapons jrpg protagonist body is funny to me.

It was the day after Christmas when it started to rain and had not stopped since. Clouds darkened over Greywood, making the town live up to its name even more. At first, the shower was light, icy droplets not unusual for this time of the year. But then, the winds picked up and it was like someone left the tap on. An outstretched hand could not be seen ahead from the intense shower and misty vapors that fell onto the town like a curtain. Streets flooded and lightning flashed. Somewhere in the distance thunders raged, getting dangerously closer.

The signal is coming and going, electronic devices started acting up and the traffic came to an abrupt halt. Last warning on the small screens and online advised Greywood residents that emergency teams were on standby for further development and had already sprang into action, evacuating some parts of town. Residents were advised to find shelter and stay put until help arrives. Water was running in knee-deep rivulets on the streets, flooding shops and homes alike. Somewhere between peaks of Greywood Forest trees, whirlwinds rose like huge tendrils clinging to the sky, reaching for the ground. It was a storm unlike any the town had ever seen...

What happened to some of the locations in town?

Acacia Heights Country Club had been struck by lightning and reported to be on fire inside. Luckily, due to the heavy rain, the outbreak is contained to the club’s indoor space.

The Sapphire Sea has had destructive waves reported, rising many meters in height and had spilled out of its lakebed, flooding the surrounding areas.

Multiple town and privately-owned businesses had been closed down and flooded or had completely collapsed (UTP if this has happened to your character’s workplace too).

A sudden strong wind had ripped apart the roof of Greywood’s Historic Library, endangering the staff as well as many of the treasured literature and history stored there.

Evacuation to safer places had begun for Greywood residents. Currently, temporary stay has been arranged for them at Greywood’s Recreation Center, University, Town Hall and Hospital.

All participating characters had been evacuated from their homes or wherever the worst of the storm had found them to the Greywood University for a temporary safe stay until the emergency situation passes.

All participating characters in employment by Greywood Fire department, Hospital and Sheriff’s Department have been called in and are on site at the Greywood University at the time of the event to provide assistance and do their jobs in the case of this emergency. Feel free to say that your character, if within the previously mentioned job descriptions, has assisted with the situation since it started in whichever way is possible/makes sense for them.

What now?

Your characters find themselves with whatever belongings they could quickly grab along the way (or more likely none) at the Greywood University.

Temporary sleeping areas have been made out of the University dorms that are on the underground level below campus grounds.

Seems like everyone present would have to stay indoors for a while, or at least as long as the terrible storm rages outside, tearing the town completely apart. You are safe for now, as the sturdy stone building that has been a part of Greywood for over a century now valiantly withstands the nature’s wrath. Time to check for familiar faces also cooped up in there with you or get to know your new roommates better. Hopefully everything will be over soon but… how much of Greywood would remain standing after?
