Todoroki: Why are you smiling like that? You look suspiciously like the cat that swallowed the pidgeon.
Uraraka: Canary.
Todoroki: What?
Uraraka: I look like the cat that swallowed the canary.
Todoroki: I once had a very large cat-not the point! My point is, why are you smirking?
Uraraka: You were watching him.
Tsuyu: With great interest I might add.
Uraraka: In fact, I believe you were ~enraptured~.
Todoroki: He's Midoriya, I look to him for guidance!
Uraraka: Oh I see.
Tsuyu: And what 'guidance' did you see in those swaying hips?
Todoroki: No no no! I wasn't looking at his hindquarters!
Uraraka: Certainly.
Todoroki: I gazed-glanced in that direction, maybe! But I wasn't staring, or really seeing anything.
Uraraka: Of course.
Todoroki: I hate you guys. You're bad people.

Azula: Stop. That.
Katara: (giggling) Stop what?
Azula: That. Looking at me and giggling.
Katara: I can’t help it. You’re so big and stoic. Who would have thought you’d be a big softie.
Azula: Stop saying that! I am a soldier of the Fire Nation. Slayer of the Avatar. I am not a “softie”.
Katara: (continuing to giggle) softie!
Azula: Stop it!
Katara: Aww, would you like me to kiss your ego better, Softie?
Azula: … I’d like that.

Anyway here's the Guerrin timeline as best I can piece it together, if it's useful to anyone!
Updated 7/14/23 with corrections & additions.
~8:84 Blessed - Eamon is born. (The Calling - He's 15 at the time of the Battle of West Hill, which occurred in 8:99 Blessed.)
8:99 Blessed - The Battle of West Hill. Arl Rendorn Guerrin, Eamon's father, is killed in action. Maric Theirin is presumed dead but reappears in Gwaren, which is then taken by the rebels. The Battle of River Dane deals a decisive defeat to the Orlesian forces, though the conflict is not completely over. It will take several more years to completely drive out the occupying lords. However, Emperor Florian officially withdraws support for King Meghren.
9:02 Dragon - Eamon, 18, returns to Redcliffe to claim his place as arl, but find it still under Orlesian control, and works with the rebel forces to reclaim it. Isolde, the daughter of one of the Orlesian governors, is sympathetic to the rebels and becomes infatuated with Eamon, who does not return her feelings; nevertheless, she feeds information to the rebels, and chooses to stay in Ferelden after her family is driven out. Isolde is four years younger than Eamon, making her 14 at the time. (WoT v.2 p. 102, 106)
9:02 Dragon - Maric kills the usurper King Meghren in a dual, officially ending the occupation and winning Ferelden's freedom. (There is a noted discrepancy in the dates between the epilogue of The Stolen Throne, and World of Thedas vol. 1, the latter of which puts the duel at 9:00 Dragon. Given other events, the later date seems more plausible.)
~9:08 Dragon - Six years after their initial meeting, Eamon (24) meets Isolde (20) again in Denerim. They quickly become involved and are married. (WoT v.2 p. 103)
9:10 - Alistair is born to Fiona and King Maric. His parents give him up to be raised at Redcliffe Castle, inventing a story about his mother being a human serving girl. (The Calling.)
~9:20 Dragon - Isolde becomes pregnant with Connor after difficulty conceiving. This causes rumors about Alistair (10) being Eamon's bastard to resurface, and Eamon sends him away to a monastery to spare his wife's feelings. Connor is born soon after.
~9:29 Dragon - Short of taking his vows as a templar, Alistair (19) is conscripted into the Grey Wardens. (WoT v.2 p.79)
~9:30 Dragon - Connor Guerrin (10) shows signs of magic. Isolde hires an apostate, Jowan, to tutor Connor in secret. Eamon (46) is poisoned by Jowan and falls ill. (Origins.)
~9:31 Dragon - Following the Blight, Eamon decides to stay in Denerim, serving as an advisor to the throne, eventually declaring his brother Teagan the new Arl of Redcliffe. (Origins, WoT v.2 p.104)
?:?? Dragon - (If Connor is dead) Rowan Guerrin is born to Isolde and Eamon. After a difficult birthing, Isolde dies. (Potential Origins Epilogue slide.)
?:?? Dragon - Rowan Guerrin shows signs of magic and is sent to the Circle, though her father continues to visit her. (Potential Origins Epilogue slide.)

Thinking about how when I was in middle school I thought I was the most original person in the world for coming up with the idea of cave elves in some intense political fantasy story I was writing only to find out that I did not in fact come up with the concept of cave elves and the high political drama of elves bring displaced and crammed into cities and discriminated against was literally exactly the setup of dragon age origins

The way there are ways to learn to weild magic and magic-like abilities in the universe (Templars, Berserkers, Spirit warriors or whatever that subclass was called) with Templars originally not even needing lyrium to have their skills, and how that could affect the story is ignored especially after it got retconned to lift responsibility from the chantry and fit in the "both sides equally bad" bullshit in...

Hello! :)
From the love your fandoms asks… What about numbers 3, 11, 17 and 20? The first three for each or both of your fandoms!
love your fandom asks
3. a character that fandom has helped you appreciate
Dragon Age: that's going to be a weird answer, but Cullen. I know about The Problems but just from playing the games, I didn't really care about him, but seeing art from people who do made me go "okay, well, I see why one would like this guy". Also, that's going to be an even weirder answer, but almost the exact same thing happened with Solas.
Pillars of Eternity: so in PoE reincarnation exists and throughout the first game you remember flashes of your past life, and it never occurred to me that that past life is also free OC real estate until I saw that other people were fleshing out their PC's past life as a separate character. The potential.
11. if you're a writer or artist, what fic or piece of art are you proud of making?
Dragon Age: okay I have to say something that isn't Homecoming for this one: I'm still pretty proud of this fic about the Arishok fight and this eldritch horror Solas fic.
Pillars of Eternity: the watercolor sketch for this one was more popular, but I'm really proud of this digital painting of my second Watcher. So proud, in fact, that I actually printed it out and it's on my wall now.
17. the thing in canon that everyone loves and that you also love
Dragon Age: The party banters. The Wardens. The tarot cards. Technically not everyone likes every LI, but I'm going to include them also.
Pillars of Eternity: we are all united by our love for two (2) special guys (and one secret special gal), all of whom are voiced by Matthew Mercer. (for the record, I appreciate the rest of the companions also, but I feel like there's an overwhelming consensus about these two specifically)
20. your very first fandom!
...I'm pretty sure that it was Hetalia, and, as I later found out was pretty common, at no point have I actually interacted with any of the source material. I just happened into an online space where people were really excited about a bunch of guys who were apparently also countries but the country stuff also wasn't really the point??? and then I read a lot of fanfiction about it, in which the country guys were really just a vessel through which people told literally whatever story they wanted to because there were no rules. in hindsight, this probably explains a lot about my current approach to fanfiction

That’s...an interesting contradiction. (Is anybody on that team keeping track of established lore? It is very important to have something to keep track of lore to avoid contradictions).
if DA:O is taking place in 9:30-9:31 Dragon, then 8:82 Blessed would be about 48-49 years ago.
I have two ideas to try to reconcile this particular bit of contradictory canon:
1. Mahariel (for those who might not know, that is the surname of the Dalish Elf Warden) is the grandchild, not the child, of the previous keeper.
2. give the keeper a younger brother and Mahariel could be the child of that younger brother, therefore making them the niece or nephew of the previous keeper.

Conversation
Ivy: You seem so deep in thought, my dear Aeon. Thinking of me, perhaps? The two of us, together at last?
Lizardman: Yes.
Ivy: I... what did you say?
Lizardman: You will need armor, I think. And a helmet. And something to bite down on. How strong are human teeth?
Ivy: How strong are my teeth?
Lizardman: My teeth can bite through leather, wood, even metal given time. Which reminds me, I may try to nuzzle.
Ivy: Nuzzle?!
Lizardman: If that happens, you'll need an iron pry bar. Heat it in a fire, first, or it may not get my attention.

Lyrium
More than half the wealth of Orzammar comes from a single, extremely rare substance: Lyrium. The Chantry believes it to be the "Waters of the Fade" mentioned in the Canticle of Threnodies, the very stuff of creation itself, from whence the Maker fashioned the world. Only a handful of Mining Caste families hazard extracting the ore, finding veins in the Stone quite literally by ear. For in its raw form, lyrium sings, and the discerning can hear the sound even through solid rock. Even though dwarves have a natural resistance, raw lyrium is dangerous for all but the most experienced of the Mining Caste to handle. Even for dwarves, exposure to the unprocessed mineral can cause deafness or memory loss. For humans and elves, direct contact with lyrium ore produces nausea, blistering of the skin, and dementia. Mages cannot even approach unprocessed lyrium. Doing so is invariably fatal. Despite its dangers, lyrium is the single most valuable mineral currently known. In the Tevinter Imperium, it has been known to command a higher price than diamond. The dwarves sell very little of the processed mineral to the surface, giving the greater portion of what they mine to their own smiths, who use it in the forging of all truly superior dwarven weapons and armor. What processed lyrium is sold on the surface goes only to the Chantry, who strictly control the supply. From the Chantry, it is dispensed both to the templars, who make use of it in tracking and fighting maleficarum, and to the Circle. In the hands of the Circle, lyrium reaches its fullest potential. Their Formari craftsmen transform it into an array of useful items from the practical, such as magically hardened stone for construction, to the legendary silver armor of King Calenhad. When mixed into liquid and ingested, lyrium allows mages to enter the Fade when fully aware, unlike all others who reach it only when dreaming. Such potions can also be used to aid in the casting of especially taxing spells, for a short time granting a mage far greater power than he normally wields. Lyrium has its costs, however. Prolonged use becomes addictive, the cravings unbearable. Over time, templars grow disoriented, incapable of distinguishing memory from present, or dream from waking. They frequently become paranoid, as their worst memories and nightmares haunt their waking hours. Mages have additionally been known to suffer physical mutation: The magister lords of the Tevinter Imperium were widely reputed to have been so affected by their years of lyrium use that they could not be recognized by their own kin, nor even as creatures that had once been human.
