Could you help me w something, pretty please?

I need to do an informative speech for college about an "interesting" topic. So I made a list of topics and now am asking my friends what topic/s they like the most/think are the most interesting. I was hoping you could take a look and give me your opinion (no pressure tho, if you don't wanna/are bussy, whatever, it's totally okay.) Here's my list:

1. Agnes Sorel. She was King Charles VII of France mistress in the XV century. She saved France's economy and prevent a British invasion all by herself. She was so cool some painters from the time used to portray her as Virgin Mary.

2. Dance plagues.

3. Gorbals' vampire hunt. In 1954 all the children from a town in Scotland were so convinced there was a vampire killing people, that at night hundreds of them went out with axes and knives looking for the monster.

4. What would happened if the sun disappeared/what would happened if the moon disappeared.

5. Why do people like to be scared (horror movies, ghost stories, roller-coasters, extreme sports...) (like. the scientific reason.)

6. The case of a woman who went to the hospital because she had "lost her body." She could see, and feel, and move her whole body, but she felt like the left side of her body wasn't hers, as if there was a void in there. This happened after she had a brain surgery to remove a tumor.

7. Missing 411 phenomenon. I really don't know if it is like a well-known topic in North America. Here in the south almost nobody knows about it, so I think it would be cool to explain how weird all these missing cases are and how non of them has ever been solved.

2. This is the one I know the most about out of those you’ve listed. The dancing plagues were so weird and I think it would be really interesting to write about

3. After brief research this also sounds super cool. Especially since it happened so recently and it would be so interesting to research further

4. I don’t know about this one since it’s pretty obvious what would happen. Like since we’ve seen the outcome of what happens when sun-like stars have died before. Don’t get me wrong it’s super cool I just don’t know if people would want to continue paying attention to it as much if they already knew what would happen (same with moon scenario) but they’re still really cool and interesting which is what you’re looking for

5. Once again this one is just kinda obvious as an answer. Like it triggers the brain to release dopamine and Idrk how you could expand on that. Though if you could it’d be interesting

6. I have literally never heard of this before. All the other ones I knew a bit about but I’ve never heard this before and it sounds pretty cool

7. Yeah we don’t hear much about this in Canada since it was a us thing. But I do think it’s kinda cool since they all went missing in parks right? And like their cases didn’t get solved etc. pretty neat if you ask me

I have a question! When and why did you start shipping Clyde and Craig? You’ll the first person I’ve seen ship this so I’m curious!

omggg wait really??? That’s so surprising to me lol I mean I know cryde is a fairly small ship, but I can’t believe you haven’t seen it before !! I feel kinda honored LMAO like wow… introducing people to cryde… my sp destiny

But !! It’s honestly kind of a boring answer lol. Back in ye ole middle school days, South Park was the first “fandom” I ever discovered. I honestly cannot remember why or how lol, but I found… ffnet. And that led me to learning about fanfiction.

(okay I kinda uhhhh rambled for years so here’s a cut!!! ilu)

Of course, I searched for south park LMAO I mean it was like my favorite show of all time. I looked at some fics but didn’t read any, until for… literally no real reason, this one fic caught my eye. It was about Craig and Clyde, two characters we knew next to nothing about, and I was like… hmmm yeah this sounds like a good one!!!!

For a long long time I thought this fic was deleted?? But it’s NOT apparently !!! (It’s m-rated, if that’s not ur thing!!) but yeah!! It’s a very standard, early days cryde fic where Craig is an outsider and Clyde is the cool jock and they really reconnect at a party.

If you know anything about my version of cryde, you know that’s… absolutely not how I envision them at all lol. (I could make a whole other post about that.) but for some reason, I read that fic and was like “wow, I wanna know more about Craig and Clyde 🤔”

Andddd then I just kinda went on a deep sea dive of their characters, canon and fanon, and I just kept reading fics!!! Over time, both fanon cryde and my… version (?) of cryde evolved, and so did their characters in canon!! I remember the like… ten of us on here back when Slash episode aired, we were losing our shit over the fact that they were partners the entire time. We were FED lmao

And then!!!! I can’t even explain how fun it was when TSoT came out. Their partnership and Craig’s double cross was everythinggggg. It was everywhere. We were THRIVING lol. I don’t think anyone expected it and that made it so much better, and it cemented for a lot of us the idea that they’re best friends. We were given crumbs tbh but lemme tell you, we took them and baked a CAKE and it was a time.

Okay all of that is not really an answer to your question lol. The short of it: I read some fics!! I became interested in their characters and their friendship, and it just went from there. Having all those fun moments with our little side of the fandom was always a lot of fun too and it made me treasure the ship a little more I think.

I know cryde isn’t ready all that popular, though it’s gotten bigger over the years, I like that the fandom is kinda on agreement that at the very least, they’re pretty good friends. (Maybe even best friends!) it still gives some cute content even if it’s platonic.

And I have really written a lot more than I intended LMAO if you’re still hanging on anon, thank u, I’m sorry I sorta veered off into another territory but I hope I (somewhat?) answered your question!!! If not I’m sorry pls just tell me if I need to clarify lol

I didn't even know you used to do sp stuff. (how did you escape? - like I literally don't wanna be into this show any more but it's also like the only thing that stopped me "offing myself" at 15 so it's kinda hard cause it means a weird amount to me :') )

honestly the biggest thing is acknowledging it is one of the few series’ out there that has caused real life hurt and damage to people, especially the Jewish community, and the role it has in normalizing antisemitism, racism, transphobia, etc. Acknowledge that the fandom itself is full of nazi apologists, racists, antisemites, etc. It may not effect you personally but it is something that definitely effected me, my friends, and other real life people. Know that for a show that’s meant to be satire, it often punches down, and takes a centrist standpoint with no clear viewpoint so that both bigots and liberals can say “ oh yes, this is taking my side on the matter :) “ which makes it an easy ground for people to get radicalized, become normalized with nazi fetish art (boy is there a lot of it), and exposed to overall dangerous and harmful ideas.

Tbh I don’t care if you like watch it from time to time and get a laugh out of it, I’m not a cop, but if you are actively producing content for it, and engaging in the fandom, and shipping the characters, and promoting its ideologies in any way, then sorry but you probably shouldn’t be following me and should probably reevaluate the way you interact with the show and maybe even your own morals a bit? Because I’ve also noticed that while me and all my Jewish mutuals and mutuals of color that were into the show as teens eventually left, both from bigotry and just becoming more mature, most of the white friends I had made.... ended up staying... (cause again it probably doesn’t affect them the same way)

So this is what I’ve seen other people do as well as what I did, when it comes to leaving unhealthy hyperfixations and potentially dangerous fandoms. So obviously as stated above realizing the real harm it does really does go a long way, and will keep you motivated in trying to leave. Consume less of it, little by little if you have to! Engage with other fixations and hobbies and content you really enjoy! Maybe something kind of similar! Like another adult cartoon but one that isn’t actively causing harm to minorities. Though for me I ended up getting into TAZ specifically because it was so different from SP, where I didn’t feel constantly in danger, and at worst have to deal with the usual micro aggressions and liberalism LMAO. So maybe you need something totally different instead! Examine what you really get out of the show and look for something similar! For me, SP is very character driven but also the characters were kind of flexible so you can kinda have fun in the fandom space with it, which is why I love TAZ so much! It’s extremely character driven but because it’s an audio medium I can really focus on character design and my own interpretations and making and creating art for it! It really was the perfect series for me to latch onto and get away from SP entirely!

If you draw fanart and make content for it, you have to stop, if you find it hard to do so, then do not post it whatsoever. And try to draw/write/etc less and less for it. After a while I promise you will lose interest, because feeding into your fixations will only ensure in keeping them and make it impossible to leave. So you have to really just stop consuming, stop engaging, no matter how much you want to, it’s not worth it. Remind yourself that you are actively engaging in something harmful. Especially if you have friends who fall into the groups that South Park is always shitting on... it would not make me feel safe at least...

Finally! I’ll be starting my kookmin/jikook fic rec. This has taken quite a while and I have over 500 fics to share 😭I’ll be dividing my posts into different parts and hopefully when I read new ones, I can start posting them separately.

So again, some disclaimers before we start!

Most of the fics I read involve some pretty heavy tags and almost always involve smut (lmao sorry, I’m a heathen what can I say)

With that said, READ THE TAGS FOR EACH FIC. Remember kids: dead dove don’t eat.

This compilation will include: one-shots (c*mshots hekhek), chaptered, on-going, completed, and discontinued (yes, sadistic i know).

There may be some fluff recs here. But don’t count on it.

Again, and I will not stress this enough, don’t come at me if there are fics with dubious tags. I am a pretty open-minded reader and I’ve read my sizeable share of dark, disturbing fics so if you see tags not for you, move along.

Unfortunately their views differ greatly and Jungkook has little respect for the south's soft approach, but Jimin is a prince just like him and will not stand by and let him have his way.

Summary:Park Jimin works hard, and everyone knows it. His boss likes him, his coworkers adore him, and he knows it's just a matter of time until he graduates from the ranks of the desk farm and into something better. All he has to do is conquer every single feeling of inadequacy he's ever had. Simple enough. Job-stealing newcomer Jeon Jeongguk doesn't seem to work for much of anything at all, and he's more than arrogant enough for them both. But he's certainly well-connected, tall and rich and good at everything. Jimin hates him on sight, and by the end of the first week he's sure they're eternal enemies. And sure, Jeongguk may be cute, even hot underneath his suits, but Jimin doesn't care about that. Not at all.

Comment: They say this is the must-read office!KM fic.

Summary:There's Jimin, a dog, a duck and a tree. There's Jungkook, a little prejudiced, a little clueless and a whole lot gorgeous. Then there's this thing called love. Sometimes it hits like a truck and sometimes it blows like a gentle breeze.

Comment: The writing is awesome! This fic is too cute for words and literally JM is so cute here with his lil pets :D

A/N: This is sort of a filler chapter, but I needed there to be some sort of build up towards the conversation these three are going to have once BuckyNat comes back from their mission! Sleep was something you didn't get a lot of often, but it was frustrating when it didn't come to you at all. No matter how long you kept your eyes closed, you never slipped into a peaceful slumber. There was nothing but black and the sound of your frustrated breathing. Wanda once told you to try slowing your own heart rate down through breathing exercises, but it all felt like a sham. Nothing you tried seemed to work tonight.

It was almost pathetic when you thought about the reason for your restlessness - you missed having Nat and Bucky. Which was stupid because you had only been with them for a few nights; it's not as if you had months or years to get used to having them around. You were being clingy, and you didn't have a valid reason for being so.

You kicked your blankets off you as you shifted off the bed. There was no use in lying there and stewing in your own sad thoughts.

You glanced at the clock and saw it was still only three in the morning. Everyone else in the compound was still asleep, so you didn't have anyone to rope into a late-night adventure. You could have woken up Sam, but you weren't in the mood to listen to another lecture about why being a third in a couple never ends well. You were well aware of all the risks. It had been something you thought about the minute the two of them left for the mission - leaving you behind.

Ugh, I sound pathetic, you thought to yourself.

There was a small 24-hour diner just a few miles south from the compound. It was just off an unpaved road, and most people passed it because it looked more like a fancy mobile home rather than a diner. You figured that would be a good spot to spend the rest of your night in.

Misery pancakes were always the best kind of food.

A playlist that had to have been made back in 2012 played over a crackling speaker in the corner of the diner. You were hit with a wave of cold air the moment you opened the door, but you welcomed the feeling. You hadn't thought about getting fully dressed, so you only wore a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie with a few questionable stains by the collar, but you hadn't anticipated how hot it was outside. You were sweaty before you even made it to the parking lot, so the air really had been refreshing.

You were the only one in the diner besides the staff and an old man who sat in the farthest booth. He was hunched over a plate of eggs and ate them as if he hadn't had a decent meal in weeks.

By the ragged looks of him, that assumption wasn't far off.

You took one of the stools at the bar and kept your head low until the waitress walked over to get your order. "Misery pancakes" almost slipped off your tongue, but you caught yourself just in time to tell her you wanted pancakes and a coffee. She gave you a look that you couldn't quite read before putting your order in. You wondered if a lot of people came in the middle of the night to eat their feelings. It seemed like a good place to do that.

The waitress - you finally looked at her nametag to see her name was Pearl - placed a mug in front of you and poured some coffee into it. You didn't need cream or sugar for it tonight. No, tonight was as black coffee kind of night.

Or was it technically morning? Time really didn't make much sense when you didn't sleep.

"Penny for your thoughts, hon?" Pearl asked as she set the plate of pancakes in front of you.

You shrugged. "It's kind of a mess. I don't think you'd understand; mainly 'cause I don't understand myself."

"Try me."

You snorted. Pearl was the type of woman who looked like she belonged in a diner - and you didn't mean that in a bad way. She was round in the face, and she wore pink cat-eye glasses low on her nose. She kept her gray hair piled on top of her head, almost like a beehive, and she had dangly earrings that were shaped like dairy cows. Her look made it seem like she stepped right out of the sixties, which might have been how long she's worked here.

You made a mental note to ask her about that later.

"There's this couple that I've sort of had a thing for since I met them," you chewed on your lower lip, unsure of how she would react to this information, "Both of them. Not one or the other, I wanted both."

She smirked, but she didn't say anything. She just waved at you to continue your story.

"We spent a night together. An amazing night, if you were curious, but then I thought that was it. I thought they got their fix of me, and it was time to move on! Then they said they wanted me to be theirs, which I wasn't really sure what all that entailed, but I agreed 'cause I really didn't want to let them go."

You stuffed a piece of pancaked in your mouth to keep yourself from going into too much detail about the nights you spent together. Pearl did not need to know about what a wet, needy mess those two turned you into. She'd probably think you were nymphomaniac. While you enjoyed sex, you'd like to think you weren't completely bonkers over it, even with Nat and Bucky.

"They left for a-" You paused. Was it a good idea to give away that you were an Avenger, if she didn't already know? "-small trip. They come back tonight, and they asked me not to change my mind about our arrangement until they came back to talk about it. I'm not even sure what there is to talk about, though."

"Well, what's the problem then? It seems like you have this figured out."

You sighed. "My best friend thinks I'm setting myself up to get hurt. They were a couple first and, well, they can walk away at any time and leave me behind without any real repercussions, you know?"

Sam's words stuck in your head even when you tried to kick them out. There was some truth to what he told you. If things didn't work out, they'd still be the couple, and you'd be left to work on your loneliness without their help. You didn't care much about what people would say; you just hated the idea that you could potentially get left behind. You sucked at dealing with that kind of loneliness.

You were frustrated to all hell because there was always a risk in relationships. In the beginning, you never know if the person you're with is going to be with you forever. Everyone is raised on this notion that love is worth taking risks for if you believe someone is your soulmate, so why was it such a big deal now? Because there were two love interests involved rather than one? How did that make any sense?

You took another sip of your coffee. Your head was beginning to pound with all your thinking.

"Sugar, it seems like you're overthinking," Pearl pointed out. "If these two want to be with you then you shouldn't worry about what anyone else says."

"But-"

"But nothing. Listen, you need to have a talk with them to figure out where you stand - figure out your boundaries. You don't need to think about what your best friend thinks or stress over what could happen. You know why?"

You smiled. "Why?"

"Cause anything could happen! A meteor could strike this diner with all of us in it right now. Someone could die in their sleep somewhere on the other side of the world. Aliens could try and take over New York City again. None of us stress over these kinds of things because there's no use. If they do, it's just a silly excuse to be miserable, and let me tell you, there's a lot we can all be miserable for. Doesn't mean we have to be."

You sat back in your seat, surprised that you hadn't thought about any of that before. She gave you a quick pat on the arm, topped off your coffee, and stepped away to check on the man in the corner. There was a glint in her eye that told you she knew she was right. About everything.

You slipped your phone out and stared at the blank message screen for a moment. It was still early. The odds of either of them being up were slim, but you needed to talk to them, even if it was only for a few seconds.

You: How's the mission?

Bucky: Boring. Nothing's happened yet, and I'm pretty sure this lead was a dud.

Nat: What are you doing up?

You: Couldn't sleep. Went to a diner for late night pancakes.

You snapped a pic of your half-eaten pancakes and sent it to them. You were never the type of person to take pictures of your food and post it everywhere, but this seemed appropriate. There was a slight chance they didn't believe you actually snuck out of the compound for pancakes.

Bucky: Want to talk about what's keeping you up?

You: Not really…not until you guys come back. It'd be silly to talk about it now.

Nat: Do you want to be distracted instead?

You: Yes.

Nat: Yes, what?

The heat was already starting to pool in your belly. You clenched your thighs together out of habit. How they managed to get you soaked through a text message was just a testament to how phenomenal they were.

You: Yes, ma'am.

Nat: Good girl. Now, I want you to go into the bathroom and get yourself off thinking about us. Make sure you stay quiet…don't want to disturb the other diner patrons.

Bucky: And yes, we want pictures of your panties on the floor as proof.

I’m gender critical yes lmao, I can’t be a radfem due to not being female, and TERF is effectively a meaningless term, especially considering how vague the concept of “exclusion” is. But you know it’s funny because I legitimately experience less dysphoria now than when I was integrated into typical tumblr genderism, because it turns out that having realistic expectations for transitioning, coherent understandings of transness, male socialization, etc. makes coping with being trans easier and less confusing. You have people on here saying the moment you identify as a woman, you absolutely are one, there’s no such thing as male socialization and therefore nothing to unlearn from your time as a man because you never were male in the first place! Saying you don’t need dysphoria to be trans, denying sex-based oppression exists at all, denying that (real) women and trans men have anything in common, and discounting the unreasonably high rate of transwomen being outed as predators while the same thing is rarely happening with trans men, and other things like that.Not being surrounded with 24/7 hugboxing, almost delusional denial of material reality and the severe issues within your community, alongside a legitimate cult mentality turns out to be healthier as a whole, imagine that! On the other hand, do you know what I’ve noticed in gender critical circles? There aren’t women being outed as pedophiles, rapists, kinksters, and predators generally on a weekly basis as there were among the self-proclaimed women within trans circles. I see 10 times fewer people reblogging ecchi/lolicon/general pedo bait. I almost never see lesbians being harassed endlessly, grilled and interrogated due to questioning dogma, being branded as dangerous for such. Not to mention that I rarely see people inciting violence against trans people on here like I saw people incite violence against radical feminists. I don’t see people posting about how they want people with differing views on sex and gender to deepthroat a knife or get shot or whatever. I don’t see people equating them with fascists, if not outright calling them such, and generally don’t see them demonizing these opponents to the point of absurdity. This isn’t to say there aren’t issues, like the relatively small but loud group of kiwifarms-branded channers who watch South Park are fairly well known, and there are some anti-communists here and there, but like, it’s not an epidemic. Really the biggest conclusion I’ve gotten out of having been within both circles on here is that transwomen pose far more of a threat to "”terfs”” than ““terfs”“ do to transwomen. I’ve also found just how blatantly the views of radical feminists are misrepresented if not outright lied about within transactivist circles, which has /really/ made me view the whole “isolate TERFs they’re dangerous to us call them out and make sure everyone blocks them, no interaction is allowed unless you’re harassing them” type shit in a considerably different light. God the completely nonsensical claims of “TERFs killing/harming transwomen”, with nothing to back this up unless you flat out consider Mike Pence to be a radical feminist, exposes the degree of lies on its own! The resurgence of baeddelism, the demonization of “cafabs”, the branding of any woman who so much as talks about menstruation as a potential terf, the branding of transwomen who disagree even marginally with this as “crypto-terfs”, alongside more long-running shit like cotton ceiling rhetoric is by far the #1 propagator of gender critical thought today. There’s this view of radfems going out and brainwashing “weak willed” transwomen or undedicated trans allied women, luring them in or whatever when in reality the shit being pushed by a growing section of transactivists has gotten so bad that many women and many transwomen like myself and some of my friends on here have been or are being driven towards being gender critical without ever even interacting with any radfems until we’re already “converted”. Think on that for a while.

he was often put under pressure by his parents ( two successful business people ), who never really understood why their son was so closed off like that. he got very good grades at school, but he was always that shy kid no one talks to. he was that child the teacher always forgets is in their class, and that was okay. he liked being by himself; didn’t feel like he needed anyone else, even at such a young age

jiwan played by himself, studied by himself, went out by himself. he liked to sit alone in the park and just watch as people walked by. sometimes people thought he was weird, but he just enjoyed his own presence; always had, and that was a fact. maybe he indeed was a little weird, though

he tended to never initiate conversations with anyone, but would follow along with no issue if someone came up to talk to him. that’s the only reason why he was able to have a small circle of friends all through elementary and high school

things changed in high school, in which jiwan got involved with the wrong people and started doing things his parents definitely wouldn’t be proud of if they knew about it; they were only happy their son was finally socializing and being a normal teenager

well... not so normal, since his outings with his friends involved a lot of alcohol, drugs, getting his first tattoos ( in secret ) and irresponsible car rides on the outskirts of town. around that time, jiwan fell in love with the way the wind hit his face when he went shotgun in one of his friends’ cars or just drove himself, smiling brightly for what felt like the first time in his life, loving the adrenalin it gave him

in the middle of his third year in high school, his parents died in a plane crash while flying to an important business meeting in another country. jiwan suddenly found himself as an 19-year-old orphan with nothing on him besides his excessive quietness. he cried at their death and felt horrible for all of the bad things he’d ever thought about them ( and thankfully not said ), but he also felt angry in a way he’d never felt before

frustrated with the loss of his parents, he went out with his friends and drank his ass off, accidentally starting a club fight that got him into a lot of trouble

he actually ended up being dragged to the police station after that, being sentenced to a year in jail, completely unable to bail himself out because of his heritage money being frozen by the bank

needless to say, jiwan wasn’t happy at all to be going to jail right after his parents died. he had so much resentment inside himself, so much hatred but at the same time he went back to being the quiet guy he was before he got involved with the wrong crowd

somehow, no one messed with him during his time in jail. he was still only 19, but the way he portrayed himself to the outside public was something that made people feel intimidated, somehow. none of his “friends” from before the accident happened came to visit him while he was locked up, which he pretended not to care about, but deep inside, he felt a bit hurt

being in jail taught him that he really couldn’t trust anyone besides himself. if he was an individualist before, it got even stronger after he got out of jail a year later

it was tough to get his heritage money back, going through a lot of paperwork with the bank, but when he finally did get it back, he used most of it to buy himself a nice car and then ride off towards busan -- he had visited the city once before and felt immediately drawn to it

in busan, it wasn’t too tough to settle down, since he still had a bunch of money left, so he quickly found a small flat for himself, which contrasted a whole fucking lot with his fancy ass car, but, you know... priorities

he went back to being the quiet one among everyone else, getting random jobs here and there, riding on his car by himself and experiencing the happiness it gave him without anyone by his side -- it was literally the only thing keeping him alive. it was nice, he never really minded being by himself, and it was a big surprise when a group of guys approached him one day, telling him they had seen him riding just out of town and wanting to know if he’d like to join them to form a group of people who also raced. it was very out of the blue, but jiwan accepted. he had nothing to lose anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

╭ ⌑ present.

jiwan is part of the original members of the hellcats, way back when the gang was just starting off, so he’s often seen as some kind of inspiration for people who have joined later on ( even if he himself doesn’t quite understand that )

he’s a full time racer, not having any other side jobs because it’s just too much effort and he really can’t be bothered to overwork himself for some cash he very obviously doesn’t need -- everything he earns goes straight to upgrading his car or just maintaining it in general

he’s a very good racer, has lost a few races in his lifetime, but never got super crazy over them like some people in his gang get

jiwan’s still living in the same fucked up flat he got when he moved to busan; he doesn’t think it’s necessary to buy something bigger

╭ ⌑ personality & extras.

he won’t tell anyone this, but his car’s name is actually kiki

jiwan doesn’t often talk about his feelings, since he tends to keep everything to himself, but if he trusts someone enough ( which is hard ), he’ll definitely have some deep conversations with them about anything and everything

he doesn’t have anything against anyone. he’s a peaceful guy. yes, he has some resentful feelings inside himself, but never lets it show. most of the time, he will appear calm and collected and like he doesn’t give a shit about what’s happening around him

he’s had some pretty bad things happen in his life and by now he doesn’t get impressed by too little; he’s become indifferent to most things

in the love department...... he doesn’t do very well. he mostly sleeps around and has casual flings or just friends with benefits and no strings attached at all, but when he falls in love with someone, he falls hard, and becomes someone else entirely, always trying to protect them and make them feel loved. it’s really a contrast to the person he usually appears to be

tbh, he’s only ever been in one serious relationship, which ended pretty badly, and even if he didn’t hold a grudge against his ex ( doyeon ), the fact that he still does to this day just sends him and he can’t help but bite back

that being said, he doesn’t initiate any fights, but if instigated, he will retaliate

btw he’s not very competitive so he’s really only in it for the racing part lmao it pisses him off sometimes when other people in his gang get really fucking mad when they lose a race. like. calm down greg it's soccer

doesn’t care about the rivalry between the kings and the hellcats. if you’re nice to him, he’ll be ( moderately ) nice to you. if you try to shoot him on the foot, he’ll do just the same to you

he actually has a black ragamuffin called bomi. in his most stressful days, he likes to go home and allow her to claim his lap as his favorite spot to sleep on. the image of him with his cat is probably the softest thing anyone’s ever going to see, so he tries to not show people that lmao

however DEEP deep inside ( really deep ) he’s just..... very soft. cares a lot about his friends and will do anything in his power to keep them safe and content. you just gotta earn his trust first

summer tour days 10 + 11, post-tour thoughts

wow it literally took me over a month to get this entry up, sorry haha. santino roasted me for this several weeks ago and it still took me this long. i’ve been chronically bummed out for what seems like a month now, so it was hard to muster up the will to write. period, actually. it’s been really hard for me to write music lately i literally have to push myself and i find no joy in the things i love anymore!

anyways, here’s the last 2-3 days of our tour!

day 10 - philadelphia

sunlight peered in through the glass sliding door behind me as i woke up around 8:00 am in a living room with 8 other people, packed tightly across deflated sleeping bags and worn-in couches. i felt tired, but i was up already. i knew that if i didn’t get up and shower now, i was going to be waiting for five other people to shower before me.

everyone took a few hours to get ready before we decided to head out to breakfast together, including jorge. we had a lovely lil family breakfast at this nice cafe about 10 minutes from jorge’s house. it was a small spot overlooking the valley that had an expansive coffee and espresso drink menu. i got a cappuccino that had some FUN art in it and a Very Disappointing Eggs Benedict. I was a dumbass and asked for the florentine benedict with lox added, instead of asking for the lox benedict with spinach added, which would have cost me significantly less hahaha.

look at how small this bullshit is

sitting at a table with my bandmates and julie, we agreed that despite how long we had been on the road that we felt like we could keep going. i could tell everyone felt drained, but content. it’s like we all knew we were enjoying the last moments of freedom away from our boring lives back home and were cherishing each other’s company.

after paying our checks we said our goodbyes to jorge and piled into the van. we had a much shorter drive due to staying in state college, but still hit some traffic approaching philly. not a surprise. it was also weird arriving philly from the west and not coming over the ben franklin bridge, haha. as we drove towards south street we admired the sight of the chinese lantern festival, which we sadly wouldn’t have time for. as opposed to missing DGD’s tour, i was sure i’d live vicariously through photos of it from my friend’s back home and didn’t feel too bad.

i completely forgot that south street is one of the busiest streets in philly and is mere minutes away from TLA. i realized i had been here before and felt my blood pressure rise realizing parking would be impossible. however, behind the venue we found a shoddy dirt parking lot. skeptical of whether or not this was a good idea, we approached the lot attendant and asked if it was okay to park, explaining that we needed a clear space behind us for opening the trunk to get gear out. the attendant obliged to our request, or so we thought.

i’m not gonna lie, i had NEVER heard of the tusk before we played there and it was actually a cool spot. the staff were cool and it was much more spacious than the pictures led me to believe. loading in up a couple flights of stairs was just the worst part. we played with our friends in copley woods which was great, and played with another philly local old city revival. another touring band also hopped on last minute. our set was purely okay??? we all agreed it wasn’t my best set but whatever i had fun and people still dug us so that was fine. jaime and santino had to be like lined up behind one another with their amps and then joe got one whole side to himself hahaha.

i’m going a little out of order; i’m pretty positive this actually happened before our set. but out of nowhere i’m in the upper level of the venue by the stage and merch when julie texts the tour group chat BUGGING saying “HELP COME DOWNSTAIRS WE’RE GETTING KICKED OUT OF THE LOT”. so both bands run downstairs to scope out the situation, anticipating hell in the form of trying to find a new parking spot by south street in philly. what happened was, the lot attendant parked a vehicle behind ours, and when confronted about his promise that he made, he threatened to kick us out of the lot. however, jaime somehow magically de-escalated the situation somehow so the attendant agreed to move the car and everything was fine hahaha.

the night was wonderful because santino’s dad came out and we hung out with some real cool people, the only downer was we had to stay later than anticipated because the promoter added that fifth band/touring band on the end, AND, the touring band were the only people who listened to the promoter and played a long set. yeah, the promoter wanted us all to play for 45 minutes but all of us were like, fuck that. but this band ACTUALLY had that much material so they played FOR AN HOUR. ALL of us stayed and we watched them, but we were so fucking tired and we just wanted to go home. we stayed because we understood the importance of supporting other bands, and these people were out here all the way from denver, colorado. but we were so done. and on this night we were staying at my house in brick so we were only an hour and forty five minutes away from a comfortable sleep. AND, my boyfriend was going to be coming over late too so i was just dying to get home.

after loading out, a taco bell trip and a relatively short drive, we made it to my house around 1:00 am. and jeremiah still waited up and drove over for me uuugh :’)

day 11 - wallingford, ct

god, waking up to my boyfriend and fresh homemade breakfast by my parents was so, so good after being away for so long. it felt pretty strange to be home, and so briefly, but it was so good. we sadly couldn’t stick around for long after eating breakfast, as we had our van drop-off scheduled for 1:00 PM before our last show of tour in connecticut.

we have shindle drive us up to jaime’s house for one last drive in the van. it’s always sad when you’re in the van for the last day and you know your grand adventure is soon coming to an end. it rained as we drove up parkway north and shindle weaved in and out of shitty new jersey traffic. i definitely did not miss the parkway while i was gone.

shindle wanted to run home quickly to shower and change at home (understandably), so not soon after we unload all of his belongings he takes off. it sucked so badly unloading the van in the rain but what could you do. we started plotting where we were going to get a bite to eat after jaime, julie and i dropped off the van.

i look around at my bandmates and i go, “okay, who has the key?”

everyone stares blankly at each other.

joe goes, “uhhh, i think shindle gave it back to santino?”

santino looks back at us and goes “... i don’t have it.”

we tear apart our bags and turn our pockets inside out. search the interior of the van hoping it was left in the dash or on the floor by accident.

the drop off time for the van is 1:00 PM. it’s 12:15 PM.

and we realize that, shindle still has the key.

shindle’s phone died from the fifteen times i called him. he had left his phone on silent and didn’t look at it while he was driving back to little falls (who would). i had to call bandago and add another day to our rental. it sucked so badly. i was so frustrated that i started crying and jaime’s mom had to console me hahaha. i had to come to terms with the fact that there was literally nothing i could do. we weren’t going to get the key back until we saw shindle later. so i took a deep breath, put myself back together and we just left for the show anyways.

we arrived to wallingford, CT around like, 5:30, maybe 5:50 PM. i felt my throat acting up again. in fact, it started to feel shitty a day prior but i was praying that i could still pull off a good set later that night. julie walked with me from the venue to get throat coat from CVS and hot water from mcdonalds. i couldn’t really go on voice rest; i had to just drink a lot of fluids, warm up as well as i could and hope for the best. cherry street is a small venue/dive kinda place, but i actually really liked it. anthony told me a lot of people have complained about the sound there but we actually had a really easy time. but there were two people doing sound, one was scotty the venue’s regular and then there was a guy named will who ran the board for our set. will was great. scotty was just really nice too haha.

our friends migrant played the show as well as the band visitations. it was really great to see the guys in migrant again; we’ve been playing shows with them since 2016. we both played our first-ever studio at webster show together opening for sianvar before AEG shut all of webster down. because it was such a memorable night and they’re such a great band, we’ve kept in touch since then. visitations were also really awesome; i tried to watch as much as i could in between warm ups. i feel bad that i have to disappear to warm up while bands i’ve never gigged with before play, but i have to.

well it turns out, it was pointless anyways!

yeah, wasn’t fond of the set i played at all. and the sound wasn’t bad either. it was just me. i was really upset. this was our chance to win over people in a state we could easily travel up to and play whenever, and it felt so embarrassing to be up on stage and watch these people hear me blow it haha. its like nails on a chalkboard for me when i hear my mistakes. even if i know what i’m doing sometimes i just blow it anyways. chris knew i was upset too because he just patted me on the shoulder as i slumped off stage like “it’s okay just go do your cool-downs” HAHAHA. but apparently i did something right because scott, *the* sound guy everyone knows at cherry street, bought me a shot LMAO. and some other people from CT chatted us up too, and they bought our merch (and also bought me more drinks). maybe we did do something right for these people to still approach us and have nice things to say. but i still felt like they were being way too nice to me. i still feel like people lie to me. all of the time.

it was so awesome to watch destination dimension play to their hometown, as we were all surrounded by friends of theirs who were shouting the words to future cougar with us. it was so much fun to watch them play. and it was really nice of them to wear our t-shirts on stage haha. i didn’t wear mine but i bought the gray one which i loveee and is so comfy. we didn’t get to hang long after the show ended with them which sucked sooo badly because almost everyone had work the next day. i had the next day off but not everyone was so lucky. we loved touring with destination dimension so so much. it was nice to tour with a band in the same genre. we had such a happy time and we couldn’t wait for the next time we’d all get to see each other.

it’s always so weird, the last day of tour. in the middle of tour, it feels like you’re living in this dreamscape where calendar days barely exist and your only job is to show up, play and then do it all over again the next day. that night, it felt like it all barely even happened. all of tour was already becoming a faint memory. i’d look back at photos and only barely remember what it was like to feel that joy again. and i dreaded how distant every adventure we shared together was about to become.

epilogue

my alarm went off at 9:00 am. i hear sounds of jaime’s dad walking around the kitchen and in minutes time julie wakes up next to me. i lay there for a bit before texting jaime, “you up?” he comes downstairs, i throw my shoes on and my hair up in a ponytail and we go drop off the van.

it feels like tour is over but i’m still with my friends so i feel okay. julie and i grab our belongings from jaime’s house, say goodbye and return for our drive home together. we talk about tour and how fast it flew by. i’m sort of in a rush to get home in time for E3, so julie is kind to oblige and we get her stuff out of my car expediently when we pull up to her house.

i say goodbye to julie and joel, get back into my car and instantly feel my face muscles sink. the rest of the day just sucked.

i’m driving myself home feeling sleepy and don’t even realize it. i run a stop sign and nearly get t-boned by some poor person who didn’t just spend 11 days on 4-5 hours of sleep.

i finally arrive at jeremiah’s apartment in asbury and go to pick up the coffee i bought for my boyfriend, only to realize the ENTIRE cup spilled out everywhere all over the seat.

jeremiah meets me downstairs to help me bring my bags up. there’s just so, so much shit. a heavy bag of clothes, souvenirs, non-perishable food i never ate. i’m happy to see him; i’m happy for a little bit. we place an order for delivery at our favorite taco place, and i’m joking about post-tour depression as i walk out the door to go buy beer downtown real quick. already drinking at 1:30 pm! post-tour depression, is it a thing? probably not. there’s probably nothing wrong with me.

i check my work email and the dread floods in, full force. i did promise that i’d work from home, and i did, but there weren’t a lot of time sensitive matters. i took care of some youtube community engagement, checked stats on videos uploaded while i was gone, checked the socials throughout the day.

i’m home in time for the next E3 conference but i’m not even paying attention. my work laptop sits in front of me, screen glaring back at me as i’m not even using it. i’m on the couch looking out the window and seconds later tears are pouring down my face. seemingly, with no rhyme or reason.

well the crying thing happens like every 3-5 days lmao

but it just, didn’t stop. at one point i turn to jeremiah sobbing hysterically and he just holds me. like a broken record all i could say was “i hate that i have to go back to work tomorrow, i loathe that tour is over and this is just it, no more for the year. i have to wait until next year to go out again.”

and to be transparent, this is sort of the melancholy that has sat with me ever since that day. i wake up five days a week and drive the longest hour and five minutes of my life to work, and back home again in an hour and twenty, sometimes thirty, sometimes forty.

for my entire adulthood (let’s say like going back to age 18), i’ve dreaded my mid-20s. because my parents would warn me “you need a full-time job by the time you turn 26. you’re going to have to worry about health insurance. we’re going to turn over your bills to you.” so since then, my entire experience of living has been haunted by this death clock ticking down to year 26 of my life. so at 18, i said that by age 22 i needed to be somewhere with my music or i needed to give it up. completely.

hah.

the first few years of my 20′s i coasted. my band broke up so there went my shot at playing shows until i found something new. without delving into too much detail- for three years i dated someone and because i wasn’t happy i lost a lot of time. i finally recorded music again towards the end of that relationship. when i left that person at age 22 it felt like an entire world opened up to me. an enormous weight was lifted off my shoulders and i was free. i was starting over, in the best way possible. and then mere weeks after, something serendipitous happened- a friend i met because of that relationship approached me, offering to fill-in for drums for me so that i could play shows.

i was now 23. we were way past the cut-off date for me to be pursuing music seriously. but i couldn’t say no. and now here we are.

i stayed at my dead-end, incredibly far-from-home job for too long and now i’m finding difficulty finding something closer to home. i almost had a job a few times but i got scared of losing the ability to tour due to the nature of each company, so i idiotically turned those opportunities down. it seems like, to get signed to a label, you have to be both churning out digital content AND actively touring. if we could get a booking agent and/or signed to a great label i would quit my job immediately and work at a coffee shop. i just can’t swing an intense touring schedule if i get a serious full-time job in marketing. i just want to see how far i can take this band. yet, i may be screwing my future after the band if i don’t settle for a better job than just starbucks. but i don’t want to settle, at all. i’ve been panicking about this for a year now and recently my stress has become paramount, ruining every other day for me. when i sit down to practice and feel like i’ve barely accomplished anything in that practice session, i break down. because i feel like i’m running out of time. always. i have a finite amount of time and i’m running out.

so if you haven’t seen me lately, that’s probably why. i feel guilty for going out and spending time with friends because i feel like it’s time i could be spending on music. and i work day in and day out on my singing, guitar playing, writing, learning new tools for my craft, maybe i’ll go to kickboxing or the gym so that i stay in shape... and that’s it. and it’s crushing me. managing the band takes the fun out of everything too. i’ve become such an irritable person. i hate it. i feel like i’m not myself anymore. but i don’t think the problem is music. i don’t hate music- i hate this pressure to have every facet of my life fit perfectly together. i hate not having the freedom to only worry about music. being in a serious/active band is time-consuming. i realize i can’t have it all- the stable job with money and benefits and the life of a musician- but the pressures i’ve faced my entire life to settle for security have been making me lose my mind.

i hope that something good happens next year. i hope that something good happens sooner than that. i’m pretty sure this is how i wrapped the last tour journal too. but this has been my entire life- praying that things will just work out and that something good will happen. a year from now when i look back, i hope that i can regret any worry i’ve ever had. but if i find myself looking back in regret, no longer able to tour/pursue music seriously, i’m just grateful it all happened.

Jikook Fic Recs #2!

Since I just started uni and things will get even busier as the days pass by I thought why not make another jikook fanfic recs so here you go! Also thank you guys for 3k+ followers (super late “thank you” gift) ❤️

Fic recs part 1!

Alright let’s do this! In no particular order:

E[Love] by busanmelodies (One-shot)

“Calculate the expectation of love.

alternatively, 16k+ of self-indulgent romantic crack, unnecessary dialogue and really bad math humour as reluctant math major Jungkook sets out on his quest for love.”

AHHHH this was incredibly cute and funny, I never knew I could like a math!au so much? I think most people would think “but math is boring”, but hear me out, this fic is so interesting it hooked me in and I really enjoyed it, I couldn’t even put my phone down one minute haha. The math jokes are great and I thought that little math idea (E[love]) towards the end was amazing! I think the author was really creative and I like how they implemented all of bangtan on this au as well, I thought it was pretty cool! This fic is super long with some suggestive themes (*wink* *wink*) and definitely worth reading, so check it out if you can!!

Red by dalliance (One-shot)

“Jimin thinks his luck has hit absolute rock bottom when he’s made to stay with a total stranger in a lodge due to a mix up for three months.”

I think I’m a sucker for painter!Jungkook/Jimin and this was a really good fic. It showed a lot of Jimin’s character development since he basically doesn’t want anything to do with Jungkook at first, so thanks Jungkook for being so persistent (yay!). Jungkook is an actual angel and Jimin is able to address his problems in this fic, plus there’s these really cute scenes too! Paintings and colors and other art related things are involved (obviously) so it’s nice to see Jungkook’s perpective on it as well as Jimin’s. The ending made me want more of this fic though tbh xd.

No Strings Attached by graesun (Completed) (M)

“Jungkook likes his job, but sometimes he wishes he had someone to do it for him.”

Okay so this is a fic with camboy!Jungkook and I never knew I had a thing for camboy AUs until I read this fic ugh it’s so good; also thank you Taehyung, but what the fuck Taehyung xd. I think it’s kinda funny how Jungkook and Jimin come together (no pun intended?). Jimin is really nice, I think the author did a good job trying to not make Jimin appear as a creep haha, you can tell Jimin really cares about Jungkook. This fic is also fluffy at times yet, it still has some angst in it The fact that you just see them moping around not doing anything is so frustrating like just cuddle each other or something pleasE. It has a happy ending though so that’s good and I’m still waiting on that bonus chapter hehe.

You’re ripped at every edge (but you’re a masterpiece) by kafeuka (Completed?) (M)

“Jimin swore there was nothing worst than having Jeon Jungkook as a sergeant.

In which Jimin was forced to enlist in military and he was under the sexgod Sergeant Jeon’s monitoring division and god, Sergeant Jeon really needs to stop being a douchebag)”

This fic ripped me into pieces and still as my heart dammit. I didn’t know whether to put it as complete or not because technically it is complete, but it has a sequel on the works (you can check it out here) so it’s not really complete xd. Anyways I thought this fic was a pretty cool AU and we get to know a bit about Jungkook and Jimin’s background which makes us understand why they act that way on certain occassions. I think the interactions between them are interesting too because they should hate each other and they kinda do, but also kinda don’t? They (mainly Jungkook) seem really confused about their feelings (someone help this poor boy). There’s smut tho so you’ve been warned! Ah the ending felt really sad, I kept wanting more! I hope the sequel gets updated soon haha.

After Hours by pinkmonnie (Completed) (has some Taegi in it and a little Namseok)

“Jimin has been working at the same place for three years, watching as the world around him moves along in a busy hype. Although he enjoys certain aspects of his job, particularly since Min Yoongi became his manager, over time he gradually felt the usual rhythm begin to weigh him down.

Taehyung, his closest friend, comes to Gwanghwamun Starbucks for two reasons - free drinks or food if he’s feeling peckish, and to stare at Yoongi with a lump in his throat.

One night, Taehyung brings along a new friend.”

Seventeen chapters may sound a little bit intimidating, but I think it’s a really cute fic and straightforward!Jungkook is great tbh. Most of the plot revolves around the café Jimin works at so it gives it a homey feeling where most of Bangtan can hangout and be comfortable with one another. Jungkook also knows how to draw which is a plus in my book, and his relationship with Jimin is incredibly adorable with Jungkook also being kind of shy at times? You can clearly tell this guy is whipped and that Jimin is grateful for him. The fact that there’s no smut makes me think that the relationship is pure and really fluffy xd. Since I use the “Show entire work” option on AO3 I didn’t even feel how long the entire fic was so that’s good I think xd.

Constraint by Harlot (One-shot) (M)

“Jungkook is young and he is more acquainted with confusion and poor-decision-making than he’d like to admit. Despite being only 19 years old, he sometimes argues that he’s been through and seen some shit. ThIS SINFUL MASTERPIECE OMG y’all probably already read it, but it’s so good I had to put it in here. You can see Jungkook tries so hard to get Jimin out of his head, but he can’t (I feel you kookie) and he is an asshole about it. Jimin makes me want to wrap him with a blanket and snuggle him, but also he’s really sexy at times(which is real life Jimin actually). I like that you can see them become close friends too! Which makes the teasing much more enjoyable xd. It’s also really great to see Jungkook come to terms with his sexuality later on in the fic, and ofc, as if it wasn’t clear enough, there’s SMUT guys (and very good written smut imo) so don’t say I didn’t tell you xd.

This isn’t really that jikook-y (?). I think it’s centered more on bangtan’s friendship with maybe some hints of pairings, and it’s angsty af so I’m into it xd

So basically it’s an apocalypse AU (Nuclear warfare) in South Korea and BTS does exist, but they get separated since they have to look for their families to check if they’re okay, so the story mainly follows Yoongi, Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook in they journey of not dying and finding help xd. THERE’S CHARACTER DEATHS THO SO YOUVE BEEN WARNED. I cried so much guys, like, how can they be so unlucky lmao; but yeah I had to include it because I really like character death for some reason. This fic was pretty interesting because of the plot and it just leaves you thinking about the world afterwards like wtf (Hopefully this scenario will never happen ofc). Anywayss, if you’re into that stuff you could check it out!

So, I was into Japanese things way before becoming a heaux for South Korean culture. so, in consequence, I loved Hana Yori Dango!! In one scene Domyouji’s sister quotes Ernest Hemingway about fighting for love. So Domyouji goes to Makino and like repeats the verse and he’s like “baka, don’t you know Humingyay???” and I deadass laughed so hard as someone who loves literature. but yeah, thats it. lol

Why did you choose your URL?: *Leans back in rocking chair with a pipe, of bubbles ofc don’t smoke kiddos* Originally, I was btstaeoppa, bc while this blog was being made for me, bts themed urls were running low and it’s also kinda cute. However, I have come to the realisation that I will Never Be Over the Run era, and I will never be over Tae’s fringe that he dyed with Yoongi’s left over green dye(i’m pretty sure this is only a joke don’t quote me lol) so it became a minty chocolate fringe, ergo a mint choc fringe, and I found this the most beautiful and hilarious thing ever, and thus mintchocfringe was born
