chapter one
The hour after me doing Noah's makeup and getting him dressed passed by quickly, and I make my way next to the stage to stand next to Bryan, the band's photographer. We talk a bit before the show begins, and while doing so, I look around me-a full crowd is surrounding us, full of excited fans wearing merch and/or all kinds of alternative styled looks. Their excitement, happiness and nerves all came together in the room, making me feel the same thing as well. The love that everyone shares for the band is so strong, and it's amazing to see and feel.
But when the lights go off, and the intro that the band has put together plays on the screen, everyone goes wild. And the crowd really loses it when the band comes up, making me grin like some proud mother. They truly deserve this, being this appreciated and adored by the people here, because they most definitely are.
As always, the band does an amazing job, and I sing along with a lot of songs which I do every night, either backstage or sometimes besides the stage like right now. Sometimes a few of their fans recognize me, so I smile and wave at them. It's still something to get used to sometimes, not gonna lie. I am pretty known in their fandom because of the backstage content I share when doing the guys' makeup and styling, or just silly moments in my Instagram-story, and I've read and seen that they really appreciate and like that. It's sweet, and I get a lot of compliments from my work too.
I can notice Noah sneaking a few glances at me from time to time, and I try not to let it get too much to me-especially when he looks, well, let's say rather good while singing. It's almost like he knows what he knows what he is doing at moments like that… but I know that he is aware how good looking people find him. And somehow, also of me. Asshole.
The show is a big success, a big part of the crowd sings-or scream, my poor ears-the lyrics along from the bottom of their heart, the mosh pits are big and as heavy as it should be at a metal concert, and the band and the people connect so well. I can tell it gives Noah a big rush of energy, because of the way he is smiling, goofing around with the band, jumping and putting his all into the show. It makes my heart all warm, and I again feel so proud of all of them.
I leave a couple of minutes before the show is over, because that's usually chaos with crowds as big as these. I wait for the band to hand them their towels and guard them safely backstage with the rest of the crew.
Noah, drenched in sweat, is the last member that quickly runs towards me, a big and pleased smile on his face. I return the same smile and hand him his towel, while saying: `That was such a great show!´
He grabs the towel and quickly wipes the sweat off his face, looking at me with the same excitement he had on stage. `Fuck, it was. It was amazing,´ he grinned, running a hand through his damp hair and running the towel over it after.
`It truly was, Noah. You all did such an amazing job, I'm so proud of you,´ I say and his smile only grows bigger, just as the twinkle in his dark brown eyes.
`Glad to know I didn't disappoint anyone, including you,´ he answers with a sly smile and I playfully hit his arm with my fist.
`You couldn't Noah, you know that.´
`Hey guys, don't forget the afterparty,´ we hear Nick say when he looks around the corner, a playful smile on his lips when he sees us standing together. `We have just half an hour to get ready and to get there, sooo… I don't know what you guys are planning to do,´ he says with a shrug and a grin after, and I grab Noah's towel out of his hands so I can slap Nick against his shoulder with it.
`Hey! Ouch! Just fucking kidding of course,´ he says while rubbing his arm after, but his smile remains on his face.
`Very funny. Don't worry, we will get ready now,´ I answer him while rolling my eyes.
The other bandmates-and especially Nick, Jesus-seem to be very fond of making jokes like that about me and Noah since we grew closer and know each other longer, and I always try to ignore it, laugh along or joke back. Noah usually does the same, but he does seem to enjoy the jokes a little too much sometimes, which can get me a little flustered.
`Hey, Hailey, can I ask you something?´ Noah asks when I scared Nick away with his towel, and I nod. He scratches his neck, and asks me with a kind, little smile: `How about I accompany you tonight? For the party, I mean? Like, that we go together, the two of us?´
It's impossible to say no when he looks like a shy, lost puppy when asking me that. `Yeah, sure,´ I smile. `As long as we make it look professional and friendly,´ I say, and I feel my cheeks turning red after that. `Because it is, of course…´
`Oh yes, of course,´ he chuckles. `Dont worry about it, I'll behave alright,´ he smirks with a wink after.
For fucks sake, that definitely does not make my cheeks any less red. I still have to fight back my smile though, and I nod. `Alright, I will get changed now, and text you when I'm ready.´
`Yeah, cool.´
`Okay, see you soon,´ I smile. The security and crew make sure we first get to our hotel safely, making sure we don't get mobbed or seen.
Once I checked in my own room, I quickly get ready, stressing just a little because I know I have to hurry. I put on some makeup, do my hair, put on my favorite perfume and a little black dress with that looks good on my body but is also good enough to go out with for a party.
After I'm sure enough that I'm ready to go, I text Noah that I'm ready and am waiting for him in the hallway that's close to the band members' rooms. I nervously tick with my fingers against my phone case. I always get a little nervous when I go to social gatherings, so I am kinda relieved that me and Noah will attend together, so I won't have to show up all by myself and be all awkward when having to greet people and such.
I spot Noah walking towards me, his hand running through his mid-long hair and smiling at me with a kind and admiring smile. He looks good in his black open blouse with short sleeves, a tank top and tight pants underneath in the same color-of course.
`Wow… you look really good,´ he says when approaching me, looking me up and down with a genuine grin. I smile back at him, tucking some of my dark wavy hair behind my hair, feeling kinda flustered because of his compliment.
`Thank you. You look quite nice yourself,´ I compliment him back.
His grin widens and he offers me his arm, asking me: `Ready to go?´
I nod, accepting his arm with a small smile, before he leads me to the exit door of the hotel and we walk a small few minutes in comfortable silence through the little cold air.
Once we go through a lightly cracking, heavy backdoor of a almost hidden building (I guess this is some secret afterparty place only known for people in the music and acting scene) and we get checked by a funny looking tall guy with a beard almost coming till his waist, music starts blasting through my ears. The crowded, dark room has a big blue bowl of light on the ceiling, shining through the room onto the dancing people in the room.
`This is your kind of party, right?´ Noah jokes when he notices the way I'm looking… kinda lost around here. Literally the only people I know here are the band and some crew members, and the rest of the people are all strangers to me. It makes me kinda anxious-I have no problem being social and talkative around my familiar circle, or when I have and need to be professional for my job, but other than that… Yeah, I can kinda struggle and be awkward most of the time.
And that's why I answer him: `Yeah… I do need a drink though,´ I sheepishly laugh, already walking towards a table full of drinks I am spotting.
`Alright, we’ll get you a drink then,´ Noah chuckles when he follows behind me, standing pretty close to me as we pick up our drinks before continuing to walk around and greet some people. The simple gesture of his hand on my lower back when I poured in our drinks keeps replaying in my head, and thank God the room is so warm that the light blush on my face can easily be associated with that.
We talk a bit with the people we greet or get greeted by (well, they mostly recognize Noah, which is fair), feeling his gaze on me now and then. What makes me stick to sipping… quickly and a lot. Oops. I can’t help it, he makes me nervous like that and I was already anxious, and the drinks are right there for me to grab. So can you really blame me though?
When we continue walking through the room (with me starting to stumble around and dance like a fucking idiot), Noah looks down at me and starts laughing lightly. `So, you are enjoying yourself quite a bit huh?´
`I do, yeah,´ I giggle, and heavily nod while saying so.
`Slow down will you, though? We have been here for only…´ He stops to look at his watch, and then back at me with an amusing smile. `Forty-five minutes.´
`Oh shut up,´ I tease. `Go have some more yourself.´
He chuckles at my sassy tone, clearly finding me being drunk funny. `You know…´ He starts, moving even closer to me now. I gulp. `You should be careful… If you continue like this I might have to carry you on my shoulder back to the hotel.´ His eyes still twinkle with amusement, but I can sense some kind of serious, worried tone in his voice though.
`You are really brave thinking I can’t take care of myself so you have a reason to pick me up and carry me,´ I chuckle and roll my eyes. `I might be a… líttle drunk, but I can still think more clearly than these two,´ I add, and I look at two people standing in the corner of the room, trying to make their way towards the exit while barely being able to stand on their feet.
Noah laughs at that, shaking his head slowly. `Well, I never said you aren’t able to take care of yourself or whatever… But what I meant is that, once you’re way further past this state, you might rethink your decision on going home alone tonight.´ After that he shrugs, adding: `Trust me, I’ve been there.´
`We’ll see, Sebastian,´ I slur and run towards the middle of the room after. `I want to dance first!´ I then yell through the loud music.
When in the middle of the dance room and the crowd, I begin moving my body and hips at the rhythm of the music, my eyes closed, getting a little lost in the moment and the music. It feels good and freeing, and the alcohol makes me forget my usual social anxiety that I would get-I just focus on how good I currently feel and smile.
When I open my eyes again, I see Noah laughing for a bit when he watches me dance. His arms are crossed when his eyes linger over my body, and I gesture for him to come join me. He grins and steps in my pace, moving his hips to the rhythm as well alongside me.
`Oh shit my boy got moves!´ I giggle and grab his hips without thinking, pushing them against mine. `I am still the winner here though, watch out,´ I tease and another drunk laugh escapes from my mouth.
An arrogant smirk appears on his face when he puts a little more effort into dancing. He plays along to my game immediately. `Hmm, is that so?´
I smile with my eyes closed when I feel his body getting more pressed against mine, and I hate to admit it… but it does some things to me. When I open my eyes again, I hold his gaze while still moving my hips against his. His smirk only grows wider and he keeps repeating my movements, moving them faster while dancing more intensely with me, keeping his eyes locked in mine as well.
I feel my cheeks getting hot when his sudden movements make me let out a small whimper-how fucking embarrising. So I just make a little prayer hoping that the music was loud enough for him to not hear that, but we keep standing closer to each other.
`Oh… Someone’s a little tipsy huh?´ Noah softly and playfully says with a hint of flirtation.
`Shh,´ I say, slightly irritated, but when I see his handsome smile on his face I can’t stay irritated for long. I rest my hands in his neck and press my forehead against his. Noah lets out a soft chuckle, it being like a warm brush of air on my face.
`Is there anything else you wanna tell or show me, little tipsy girl?...´ he says in a flirtatious tone, moving even closer to me, our faces just centimeters away from each other. Oh god. I feel the music slowly disappear around me, my own racing heartbeat and his voice the only sounds filling my red ears. I can’t pretend his words have no effect on me. I can’t even pretend that I’m starting to feel even more madly attracted to him right now-who am I even kidding?
Noah slowly wraps his arms around my hips as he pulls me even closer, his face close to my neck, I can feel the breath going through his nose on it. I close my eyes-my neck is a very sensitive spot of mine, and my body and mind are starting to almost lose it at this point. The desire grows by the second, wishing he would just put his goddamn lips on my skin already.
Thinking and wishing this is so bad.
And of course this fucker moves his face even closer to my neck, he can clearly tell how sensitive this spot of mine is. His breath is just lingering centimeters away from my neck, and it sends shivers all over it.
`You know,´ he starts, almost sounding seductive to me, `I think you’re more than just tipsy…´
Well he is goddamn right, because I am feeling very drunk right now. `Hmm,´ I just casually hum, ´so?´
`So…´ lingers after an amused chuckle escaping from his mouth. His face becomes even closer, he makes sure I feel my breath gazing against my sensitive spot every time he exhales. His hands are now wrapped tightly around my waist, slightly squeezing my hips. It’s insane how quickly he makes me feel such a strong desire for him and his touch-I almost want to beg him to place his lips right there.
`I think… I think I could make your tipsy night better,´ he finally continues his sentence after what seems to be the longest thirty seconds of my life.
My body fills itself even more with desire, it screams along with my head that he feels and thinks the same kinda things as I do. I open my eyes again to look at Noah, looking back at me with his damn attractive smirk of his. He’s good at this and he clearly knows it, but two can play this game, right?
`Can you?´ I tease him back.
`Well,´ he says again with a flirtatious tone, his hands squeezing my hips even tighter, his breath still lingering just centimeters above my neck. `Yes… I think I can.´
`Interesting. And when will that start then, exactly?´
I am totally not fuming with a wildfire of need for him while saying that, of course.
`Hmm, oh, well…´ he says in that flirty, attractive way that he is so good at doing. It takes a few seconds before he starts slightly grazing his lips against my neck, almost like a whisper. God-that could almost send me over the edge alone. But I try to keep it cool, and the only thing I do is smirk at his actions.
`Don’t you have a little bit of sleep every night though, because of tour? Shouldn’t you be a smart boy and go rest early?´
`That’s true… We do have pretty long and exhausting tours every night.´ He pauses a few seconds before he continues. `But… I also feel that joining you in your little ‘tipsy’ adventure is just a little too tempting…´
And I almost roll my eyes back out of a response of pleasure when he begins moving his lips against my neck again-this time a bit longer and slightly more aggressively. Dear. Lord. Have mercy.
I bite my full underlip though to contain it all, asking him sweetly: `Don’t you want me to remember it all, though?´
Noah chuckles for a second before he begins speaking again, his lips still lingering and gazing against my neck as he does so. `Do you think you won’t remember this later?...´ he asks me in a teasing tone as he increases the length of kisses on my neck.
I would definitely remember a lot of this later, somehow I’m not the kind of drunk that forgets a lot or has little to no control left over what they are doing. Hence why he has permission to do all of this with me right now.
`Well, you just said that I give you the impression that I am more than just a little tipsy…´ I say with a sly smile, just teasing him back for my own fun. God, his kisses on my neck feel so good, I need to stay concentrated on my act though.
Noah laughs for a bit, it vibrates on my neck and makes my body slightly shake, and I can’t help but smile after his joyful laughter.
`Alright, I guess you may have a point there…´ he says as he continues moving his goddamn lips against my goddamn neck, with even more pressure as he does so. His hands are still tight around my hips, keeping me close to him as he continues doing what he’s doing.
He makes it so, so hard to not give in, cause what he is doing is extremely hot to me and feels so good. So I bite my lip even harder, and before I slowly push him away from me, I make sure to grind a little against his hips, just to get him back. `I also have to get up early in the morning… This moment was fun though.´
`Hmm, alright alright, of course. And that will all go well while being this ‘tipsy’, you believe?´ he asks after my movement and comment, the grin on his face teasing and daring.
`Yes,´ I respond, sticking my tongue out after a little laugh. He lets out a laugh himself because of my drunken, teasing act, and I roll my eyes.
`Oh shut up Sebastian,´ I say to him with fake annoyance, my eyes scanning the room to find the exit door. Once I have found it, I gesture to him to follow me, so we make our way towards the door through the sweating and still dancing bodies. My body is filled with excitement and adrenaline, curious to find out where this night will lead us even more than just the teasing and his lips touching my neck, setting my whole body and mind on fire alone.

Being A Singer Who Is Part Of The Marvel Cast
Pairing: Marvel Cast x reader
Prompt: What it’s like to be a singer who is also a Marvel actress.
Warnings: none! This isn’t really a teen!reader, but it can be!
Side note: I’m using Ari’s music, so just pretend you’re Ari or something😂😂 Should I write imagines about this?
Tumblr media
(Ya’ll already know I had to use my bby Ari😌)
(Gif from Pinterest)
Being a singer and joining the MCU was actually quite nerve wracking.
You weren’t sure if anyone would take you seriously and that everyone would just see you as some singer who got casted into the movie because you were well known.
In fact, Kevin Feige casted you because you represented the character you were auditioning for so well.
You remember your first day on set and how nervous you were to be surrounded by so many talented actors. You kept to yourself and sat by the sidelines while everyone reunited with each other.
I feel like Mark or Robert might come up to you first. They would probably approach you and be all like, “Hey! My kids listen to your music and I have to listen to your voice 24/7! It’s nice to finally meet you!”
Anthony would probably join in and be like, “Aye, I know you from the radio. You sing that one song that’s goes like, ‘I want it, I got it’. Right?”
After some introductions and filming scenes together, you’d feel comfortable with your new friends. Especially after some of them fangirled over you.
Tom (Holland) most definitely fangirled over you, I just feel it😂😂
A few years later they would become your most supportive and dedicated fans (and family).
They’re probably even more dedicated than your fans.
Whenever you drop a new single or a music video, expect them all to share it on every social media account they have.
Tom Hiddleston, who’s barely on social media, would come on just to promote your stuff.
@/ChrisEvans: Hey everyone! Just came to say that @yourtwitterhandle just dropped a new music video and you should all see it! You won’t regret it! Amazing as always @yourtwitterhandle 💙💙💙
@/RobertDowneyJr: The talented and oh so beautiful @yourtwitterhandle just released a music video for her new single! Go ahead and see for yourself to experience the greatness of (y/n)! I’m proud of you sweetheart!❤️
They would even share it on their Instagram stories and post about it because they’re so proud of you🥺
Sebastian and Tom (Holland) would probably post videos of them jamming to your song and yelling at people to listen to it.
Video: Sebastian with 34+35 blasting in the background, “GO LISTEN TO (Y/N)’S NEW ALBUM POSITIONS! DO IT! NOW!”
If you release an album while working on a Marvel movie, they would have little release parties with the whole cast and crew of the movie.
They will have a countdown on some projector and once it hits one everyone would scream and hug you. Then you guys would listen to the whole album with no stops.
When they see you writing in your journal during breaks on set, they would ask if you’re writing new songs.
Sometimes they would even help you brainstorm for lyrics or a concept for a song.
I feel like Evans would be really good at this because he’s good with words.
When they hear you humming something that doesn’t sound familiar they would ask you if it’s a new song.
Scarlett and Lizzie were always excited to hear your stuff.
“Oooo, is that a new song?”
“Come on, (y/n)! Can we get a little snippet please?”
“We promise to not leak it like last time!”
“Yeah! Neither Mark or Tom are here, you’re all good!”
Tom or Mark definitely leaked a few of your songs by accident. Not that they did it on purpose, they just recorded things at the wrong times.
When you sang they would always be quiet and just listen to your voice.
Whenever you hit a high note or sang something that was a bit sassy, there were always some reactions.
Chadwick would really listen to your stuff and just feel the music. When he’s done listening to a song, he would hug you and praise you on how good you did.
Anthony was always your hype man, whether you were singing or answering a question about your music, he will hype you up whenever he can.
“Mmm that’s right, sing it girl.”
“Damn, ya’ll heard that note?!”
“That’s right! Number 1 album in the world, baby. Get with it.”
“Ya’ll heard her right, five Grammy nominations. Gimme some.” He’d brag while fist bumping you.
Sometimes you would catch them singing one of your songs and you would feel all warm and giggly inside because it makes you happy that they enjoy your music.
When you guys aren’t filming and you’re off on tour, they would come to the shows that are in their city or whatever is nearest to them.
Sometimes you wouldn’t even expect them to be there and would be caught off guard while you’re singing.
For example, you were doing a show in New York and all of a sudden you see Paul Rudd just jamming to Thank U, Next in the pit.
“I know they say I move on too fast, but this one gon’ last. ‘Cause her name is— Paul?”
Whenever you guys are promoting new Marvel movies on morning/late night shows, you were always the musical guest.
They were always excited to see you perform. They loved to see you in your element because you always looked like you were having fun and so free. You always stunned them with your talent.
They could never wrap their heads around how you could sing and dance while having so much energy on stage, it truly boggled with their minds.
When they were asked about your music career, they would always say good things because it was true.
RDJ: “She’s just so talented. Like at such a young age, she’s accomplished so much! She’s writing music, releasing album after album, and on top of that she’s working on these films with us! I’m proud of her and proud to say that she’s part of this little family we have. We’re very blessed to have her.”
Brie Larson: “I wish I was like her at that age. I’m so proud of her, she’s a young woman just doing what she loves and not letting people stop her. I’m glad that young girls around the world have her to look up to. She’s going to do amazing things in the future.”
Evans: “Man, have you heard her new album? She really went all in on that one. You know, we’ve seen her grow up into the woman she is today, and you could hear that in her music. I’m glad that we got to experience that and have some kind of part in the legacy she’s building. I hope this means we get to have a musical now.”
Mackie: “That’s our little birdie. Yeah— we call her birdie cause she’s always singing or humming something. You could never have her or Evans together on set, they just burst out singing some random song and everything becomes a musical. No, but in all seriousness, she’s special. The talent she has, you can’t find that in everyone. She’s one in a million.”
They would be so proud of you when you finally win a Grammy or other awards for your music.
There would be videos of them reacting to the moment your name is called for awards like, Album of the Year or Artist of the Year.
When you guys have karaoke night, everyone would fight for you to be on their team.
You could’ve been your own team, but there was no fun in that.
You were like the last donut with red, white, and blue sprinkles (If you know where that’s from, I love u)
“Robert, she was on your team last time! You can’t have her twice!”
“Watch me, Evans.”
“Ayo! Hold up! Sebastian and I barely get to have (y/n) on our team!”
“You boys are childish! (Y/n)’s going to be on my team with Brie and Lizzie.”
Being part of the Marvel family was one of the many things you were grateful for in your career.
They gave you so much love and support as if they were your real family and you loved them all so much.
Even when their times with Marvel were done, they would still be there to support you no matter what, because they were your number one fans.

‘You know what that does to me’
Tumblr media
The missus goes to a show and backstage shenanigans ensue!  (Content warning: smut, but also some fluff! Enjoy! xx)
Watching him perform was undoubtedly one of your favourite things. Whenever you could you’d be out in the crowd, the energy of the room never failing to lift you up. Harry also fed off the crowd, the buzz he got was addictive, and if you were there he’d always kick it up a notch, looking for you whenever he could just to make sure you were enjoying yourself. He’d catch a glimpse of you swaying your hips to the music and it sent him crazy.
“Hmm you look good in that suit baby” you hummed, appearing from behind him, wrapping your arms around his torso as he adjusted tonights suit in the mirror. “You should leave a couple buttons undone, I mean I’m sure the fans would love it, as would I” you said, pressing a kiss just below his ear, causing him to close his eyes, leaning further into your touch. You smiled, walking around to face him, unbuttoning the top two buttons of his shirt, exposing the tattoo covered skin beneath. You stood aside to let him take a look in mirror and decide whether to keep it that way, although you pretty much knew he’d do whatever you told him turned you on. “See, much better” you smirked, pecking his lips quickly. At that moment Jeff poked his head in the door “Harry can you quickly come with me and greet some of our guests?” Harry nodded “Be there in a sec” Jeff nodded, going back out into the hallway. Harry turned to you again, before pulling you in for a rather passionate kiss, your hands momentarily finding themselves in his hair. It lasted a few seconds before he reluctantly pulled away “I’ll be back soon ok?” you nodded “Go before Jeff gets annoyed” you chided, giving him a light smack on the bum, sending him towards the door. You laughed a little, shaking your head before walking back out into the green room, taking a seat beside Adam and Clare happily joining into their conversation which mostly revolved around Adam’s kids. It wasn’t long until Harry waltzed back in, walking over to the three of you and sitting himself down next to you on the already pretty cramped couch.
“I’m squished” you joked, “Come ‘ere” Harry said, grabbing you around the waist and lifting you onto his laps, his arms eventually resting around your hips with his chin on your shoulder. You leant back into him, “hmmm this is nice” you hummed, “I was thinking, after the show, hows about we don’t go out for drinks like usual but we just stay in the hotel room and cuddle and watch a sappy rom-com like usual? I’m feeling pretty tired” you suggested, Harry smiled “That sounds like a great idea babe, haven’t had a movie night in a while, been missing The Notebook a little bit” he smirked as you rolled your eyes “Look I love that movie as much as the next person but i’m pretty sure you’ve made me watch it at least 57 times and I need a break!” you laughed, Harry pouted, trying but failing to guilt you into it, “Stop it, we’re watching The Proposal and that’s that” you pecked his still pouty lips “Ok I guess I can deal with that” he sighed, pinching your hip hard enough to make you flinch. “10 minutes to showtime guys, lets go!” the tour manager announced and everyone clambered to their feet, Harry picking you up and setting you down in the process. He grabbed your hand leading you out the door towards the backstage area, stopping right at the stairs behind the stage. You could hear the crowd humming with excitement, the energy in the room electrified. “You better rock the shit out of this place tonight” you said, unbuttoning one more button “For good luck” you winked, Harry smirked, leaning down to place a kiss on your lips, this kiss was a little deeper than the usual pre-show kiss and you knew it would be one of those shows, one where he’d show off just for you. “Have fun out there, I’ll be watching” you said, giving him one last peck before walking out into arena.
You made your way to your usual seat next to the sound and lighting crew beside B stage, the crowd cheering for you, which is something that you still barely comprehended even though you’ve been with Harry for 4 years. The lights went down and the crowd went wild, ear piercing screams filled the space as the opening notes of Only Angel rang through the arena. A minute later Harry strutted his way onto the stage, the screams intensifying as he confidently walked from one side of the stage to the other, waving and blowing kisses before the beat dropped and he got into the music. You watched him dance across the stage, enjoying every minute of it. You swayed your hips to the music, screaming the lyrics along with the crowd, earning you a few weird glances from the crew who thought it was hilarious. A group of fans to your right waved you over a few songs into the set wanting a picture and a chat. You honestly loved talking to the fans, almost all of them were incredibly friendly and supportive of your husband which is all you really cared about. You ended up standing near them for a couple of songs until there was a chatty break in the music “Lovely meeting you guys, I’m gonna go back over to my usual spot otherwise he’ll get mad” you joked “But hey how about during the encore break you three follow me backstage to say hi quickly?” the three girls squealed with glee, nodded and thanking you profusely, “Are you serious? Omg thank you so much!” one of them screamed “I’ll come back over and you can follow me back ok? See you soon!” you said, the girls nodding frantically, before giving them a wave and wandering back to your usual spot.
“Have we got any birthdays in the house tonight?” Harry said, searching the crowd for anyone with a hand up landing on one girl a few rows behind the pit having a quick conversation with her before getting the crowd to sing happy birthday at the top of their lungs. “So my wife’s here tonight, she flew in yesterday to surprise me, what a gem hey?” he said, his accent getting thicker at the end, you smiled, blowing him a kiss which he pretended to catch and put in his pocket causing the crowd to ‘aww’ and you to laugh. “God I’m romantic” he proclaimed, narcissistic Harry making an appearance, you rolled your eyes and smiled “Hey I saw that” he laughed “She’s back there rolling her eyes, how rude! First you won’t let me watch The Notebook now this?!” the crowd laughed, a few joking boos mixed in “Hey hey hey we don’t boo people in this room! It’s only love in this room! Spread the love people!” he yelled and the crowd cheered. You could’t help but smile, the room really was filled with only love and it was all because of him.
The show continued, you watched him perform to the entirely enamoured crowd that couldn't focus on anything but him, his movements and his voice. Soon enough Sign of The Times started following Harrys usual spiel about how the encore works then getting everyone to bring out their torches and light the arena up, it had to be on of his favourite moments from every show. You walked over to the group of fans from before, “Hey girls you ready? We’ll make our way backstage now and you can say hello when he comes back!” you laughed as they squealed before collecting their things and following you around to the front of the arena, a few fans giving you a wave along the way. Security let you through and you stood just near the bottom of the stairs behind the stage chatting as SOTT came to an end and the lights went out before your husband came bounding down the stairs, locking eyes with you immediately before engulfing you in a rather sweaty hug. “Ew you’re sweaty!” you jokingly tried to escape the hug, a pout on his lips as you wriggled free. “I met a few people who’d like to say hello” you said, introducing the girls to Harry, watching as he gave each of them a hug, apologising for being a little gross but of course they didn’t care. He took a quick group photo with the three of them before security led them back out into the arena, leaving just you and him alone. You wrapped your arms around his neck “You look so good tonight baby” you whispered into his ear, his hands lowering to just above your bum, causing you to move a little closer, entangling your hands in his hair, tugging ever so slightly. “Baby, stop it, you know what that does to me” he moaned, biting his lip, trying to hold himself together knowing that in just about 30 seconds he’d be back on stage and he didn’t want to give anything away. “Sorry babe, I can’t help it, watching you on stage gets me all riled up and you know it so really it’s your fault” you said, hands still not leaving his sweaty hair. “20 seconds Harry!” one of stage hands called, he nodded in response, pressing a quick kiss to your lips, pulling away with a “See you soon babe” before running back up the steps and back onto the stage, another roar from the crowd filling the arena. He knew how to keep you going even if he wasn’t touching you and you both loved and hated it.
You wandered back out, choosing to watch the last 3 songs from the back of the left GA. The Chain was always one of your favourite songs, part of the reason Harry had added it to the setlist, and if you were at a show he’d use the song to tease you, and boy did it. Tonights performance riled you up more than usual, you were growing more and more impatient with ever thrust of his hips towards the mic stand, the subtle smirks directed at only you scattered throughout the performance and by the time Kiwi came on you were hot and flustered, and Harry could tell. ‘I hate you’ you mouthed, Harry’s brow furrowing in mock confusion, he was completely aware of what he was doing and he loved it. During Kiwi you watched on, trying not to show how you were feeling because you new he was enjoying watching you squirm. You decided to leave towards the end of Kiwi, making sure he saw you walk out, looking back with a smirk on your face. You could hear Kiwi end as you walked down the hallway towards the dressing room, and the final roar of the crowd as Harry exited the stage.
Within a matter of seconds Harry ran up behind you, grabbing your hand pulling you into a small empty dressing room and locking the door behind him. “Someones impatient” you teased, wrapping your arms around his neck, crashing your lips onto his, his arms tightly around your waist, lifting you off the ground, carrying you towards the couch. You pulled away, lying back on the small couch, your fingers fumbling with the buttons on his shirt “See I told you keeping it unbuttoned would have been much better, and easier” you joked, pecking his lips before removing the sweaty shirt, throwing it somewhere across the room. “Didn’t want to make you too flustered” and with that, his hands were puling your t-shirt over your head before trying to unclasp your bra, as your own needy hands unbuttoned his trousers. You struggle just a bit to get his pants down his sweaty thighs just far enough to allow you the access you so desperately crave. Harry groans as you play with the hem of his underwear, your lips never leaving each others during this whole process. “Stop teasing.. me..” Harry pants, finally getting the your bra off and flinging it somewhere behind him and hastily freeing you of your jeans and panties in one swift movement. You smirk into the kiss, you loved teasing him just a little. You relish for one last second in the tease before pushing his boxer briefs all the way down every so slowly. He moaned under your touch as you grazed your fingers back up his thigh before giving him an agonising slow pump that sent him fucking wild. “I told you to stop teasing” he growls, grabbing both yoru wrists and placing them above your head. He’s now in full control.
“Now keep your hands there ok?” He instructs, staring deep into your eyes, sweat dripping down his cheeks. You bite your lip and nod your head, knowing that simple bite of the lip would send him even further. “Fuck you are beautiful” he says, before trailing his hands down your torso, your breathing getting heavier, before he reaches the spot where you need him the most. He delicately rubs the bundle of nerves as you bite your lip even hard trying to stifle a moan but failing miserably. “You like that huh?” he says, knowing exactly what he is doing. He lifts his fingers up to his mouth, taking two of his fingers in one by one before tracing them along your inner thigh, find their way to where you needed them. You were squirming, the craving almost unbearable. “Please Harry, I need y-ugh” before you could finish he slipped two fingers in. Pumping at a fast pace, your walls tightening around his fingers to exntend the pleasure, an endless string of moans coming from your mouth as you got closer and closer. He went deeper and deeper before hitting the spot. you writhed under his touch, bucking your hips up to get him to go even deeper. Your moans became more desperate as you tipped over the edge, reaching your high. “Good baby, I wanna see you let go, fuck you’re so beautiful” he encourages you to finish and you obey, your body tingling as you hit the orgasm you had been so desperately craving. “Good girl, good girl” he pulls his fingers out, now dripping in you.
“I love you Harry” you pant, still coming down off the first high. Although you were satisfied, all you wanted to do was keep going. You grabbed his hand, putting his fingers in your mouth, sucking on them ever so gently. Yet another thing you knew sends him fucking crazy. You released his fingers, reaching up to grab his face, you crash your lips back on his, enjoying the taste of each other, as you kissed you reahed down to stroke him, he was stiff and ready. “You’re eager tonight aren’t you baby” he says, you can only hum in response, already coming back up to another high. “I need you Harry, all of you” and with that, he pumps himself twice before pushing himself in. You stretch around him, his length filling you, going impossibly deep. He thrusts hard and fast, desperately trying to hit his peak. Your lips separate, the movement too much as your head falls back, both of you moaning in absolute pleasure. “Fuck! Fuck Harry.. ughhh” you’re almost screaming as he continues to push deeper. You can tell he’s getting there, and he can tell you are too. Your moans get louder and louder, both of you panting as you reach your climaxes simultaneously. there is no doubt that anyone walking past could hear you, but both of you were so lost in the moment that neither of you cared. You buck your hips, desperately trying to hit your peak as he speeds up trying to do the same, you both hit your highs, releasing together. The euphoria of the orgasm washing over both of you. His thrusts slow and become sloppy, his eyes closed, a grin now adorning is lips.
As you both come down, you relax into each other. As he slows, Harry’s body becomes heavy on top of yours, and you both sink into the couch. Your breaths steadying as he rests his head on your bare chest, his hand lazily rubbing at your exposed breast. “That was.. incredible” he says, and it was true. Post show sex was always the most fun. “Worth the wait?” you tease, a smirk on your lips and a cheesy grin on his, “definitely worth the wait. Although you really are a tease sometimes”. You chuckle “You actually love it though, I know you do”. You both remain there, satisfied, happy and more than a little bit sweaty.
“I suppose we should go back out and see people huh? I have a feeling someone may be looking for us” Harry says, even though he would rather just stay in this moment. “Harry I’m pretty sure they know where we are, we weren;t very subtle, or quiet!” you giggle at the thought of everyone hearing what has just occurred but you honestly couldnt care less. “Thats true, but either way we should probably get up” he says, pushing himself up from the small couch, pulling you up with him as he goes. You two really were a sight to behold. Both of you naked, hair dishevled, sweat glistening on both of your skins. Even if they hadn’t have heard you, they’ll for sure be able to tell.
You both relcutantly get dressed, albiet with Harry’s suit looked more than a little messy, sneaking one last kiss before you unlock the door and head back to his dressing room. You pass a few people in the hallway, a pleasant smile and a few hellos before you both walk into the fairly busy dressing room. As you both enter, a few knowing glances are sent your way, your cheeks flush red while Harry smirks, relishing in what you;re sure he see;s as an accomplishment. You giggle and hide your face in his side as you both take a seat on the yet again crowded couch. “You two look a bit.. flustered” Jeff says, your cheeks glowing red again in embarassment before the group all start laughing, you and Harry chuckling along with them. Oh what a night it has been!
Hey lovelies! Two in one night! This is yet another installment of “The Words You Speak” series. I rarely write raucnhy content, I think this is only the second one I’ve ever properly written! It;s been sat in my drafts for quite a while but I though I may as well post it! As usual, requests are open so let me know what you want to read! Enjoy xxx

Jubilance - 7/28
A evening with the Dave Matthews Band in Tampa, FL
I am still trying to piece together and process what I experienced last night in the sweaty mess of a pit, watching some of the most talented, world-class musicians weave unforgettable songs and melodies together with us. The last 2 hours of this show amounted to the most powerful and most spiritual experience I’ve ever had seeing live music. Words, especially in English, fall short of my experience and don’t do it justice. It seems futile to write about it, and yet I want to preserve this night in my writing and internalize the lesson from last night as much as I can.
To stand so close at a show is something I had only done 10 years ago, but I wasn’t ready at the time to understand what I was seeing. As a musician, to watch these men last night, who I have now listened to for the better part of 20 years, genuinely felt like spending time with family or the closest friends of your life.
I could see everything. I could see the smiles, the laughter, the concentration, the emotional highs and lows, and the chemistry of these humans on stage together. I could see Carter’s love and thrill for each band member, his genuine undying smile and extraordinary speed and language he speaks on the drum kit. I could see him feel every single cymbal hit before it even landed. I could see Jeff and Rashawn’s friendship as two brass players, and the way they observe each other through their intricate solos. I could see Fonz get giddy during certain musical moments. I could see Tim’s immense concentration and what feels like his access to another dimension in the way he speaks through his guitar. I could see Buddy fresh and fly demeanor, his constant smile while playing keys, and how he is so deeply appreciated by the other legacy members of the band. I could see Dave’s raw outpouring of himself into every song he sang, his soul eternally begging to be released and shown to the world through the language of music. I could also see the warm twinkle in Dave’s eye from 25 feet away, you could tell that he, who feels like a lifelong friend to all of us, felt right at home and his presence communicated something like “I am so thrilled and happy to be here with you, my loving family, after so damn long.”
The venue disappeared for me because we were so close. I felt like I was in a small room with these guys. I was listening to exactly what I would want to hear and watch if I knew I had one evening left until my life was over.
Below are a few moments from certain songs that I wish to hold onto forever.
Setlist and moments:
**I felt the show really started to take off from JTR onward, so I’m going to start song comments at that point.
Tripping Billies Raven Seek Up So Right When The World Ends Seven You Might Die Trying Satellite The Riff
JTR: the pit crew was absolutely thrilled when JTR started playing. “Rain down on me” resonated deeply with a crowd and musicians who were so brutally covered in the sweat and humidity of the evening, it felt as if everyone in this moment resigned to the extreme physical state we were all in, and the musicians were right there with us. The way the horns built the the jam motif in the end of this tune, teasing and getting snagged on the same melody (between 4 and 6 time sig) until their final release in the last 8 bars. The way Carter carries the group through the end, with Dave high stepping along the way… just fantastic.
The Song that Jane Likes: Sweet song, amazing visuals behind the stage, and first time playing this year on tour.
Typical Situation: Something happened at this point in the show that changed the dynamic of the rest of the night. I watched Carter and Dave come alive during this tune. First, to see Carter playing shaker, mallets, and drumsticks on one song and switch effortlessly between them was awesome. But when this song went into the 7/8 chromatic jam during the middle of the outro it was off the charts. Buddy was hammering the keyboard, Carter was slamming the china cymbals, and Dave was DANCING harder than I’ve seen in 4 shows. The pit sang this one loud.
Do You Remember: Endless 90s nostalgia for me. The visuals of the bicycle evoke extremely colorful feelings of my childhood on Ivy St. The endless summer days, the laughter and sports and quiet evenings outside. My dad sitting on a chair watching us. I could write pages on just this feeling, but this song is a portal into my childhood.
Grey Street: Felt the song coming, and as Carter counted the intro out loud the tempo is so recognizable, it almost has its own identity for this song as the drums roll into the opening chord. The third verse comes back to life and the pit loves it. The girl I’m with says something about me being the crazy man creeping and I make a maniac face and she laughs. The thrill of seeing someone I know witness this song in person, up close, is overwhelmingly wholesome. It feels for a moment, as if the night has conspired to make this all happen. I almost hit the floor during the yeah scream on Grey Street after the 3rd chorus. Belted the note too hard and lost oxygen to my head, felt myself about to pass out immediately and grabbed on for dear life. The sax and trumpet duel during the outro between Jeff and Rashawn is staggering and leads us into the final riff of the song which just punches you in its goodness and power.
If Only: Just a humble little song. I need to listen to this one again (live version) to draw out what I remember from the stage.
Dancing Nancies: Dark, absolutely astounding. Tim Reynolds played the most other-worldly guitar solo with visuals on the back of broken dolls, babies, all kinds of crazy things. Dave began the song asking all the right questions about what he could have been to the audience. The hits on the outro in series of 8 were felt in my chest. Best version of it I’ve seen.
Warehouse: My all-time favorite song from this band. This intro is the most visceral and raw sequence in the show. When the sax, trumpet, guitar, and keys come together all in tremolo in 32nd notes, the frequencies and overtones created along with Carter’s enormous rapid cymbal sound is so intense you can see the physical effect it has on Dave. The closest way I could describe this intro as if the soul is being extricated by force out of the body and almost vacuumed or sucked upwards into a new reality it has to reckon with. “Only hope you’re here to pull me out, when I start going under, as the warehouse slips away” gives me chills. (To get a slight idea of what this is like, watch this clip at 38–40 mins. It’s from a different show, but note especially Dave’s viscerally clear connection with something beyond our understanding around the 39m mark.)
The strobes and lights here only add to the intensity of this intro. The huge yell before the 2nd verse. The drive into the outro. The salsa hits at the end. Rashawn just driving the trumpet to where it sounds like a different instrument. And the final lyrics in the moment of great reckoning:
That’s our blood down there⁣
Seems poured from the hands of angels⁣
Then trickle into the ground⁣
Leaves the Warehouse bare and empty⁣
Then my heart’s numbered beat⁣
Will echo in this empty room⁣
And fear wells in me⁣
Til’ nothing seems big enough to stay long
So I am going away, I am going away
The final Eadd9 chord lands as the warm summation and resolution to the song. I see the faces of all of my friends from the last 10 years that have been moved by this piece of music as well, and every place I have been in my life when listening to this song. It’s a sweet ending.
Everyday: One of Buddy’s licks on the intro to this song was a 32nd note run that blew the entire band away. He played 16 notes in under 2 seconds down the scale. Carter, who is probably the most attentive to rhythm, had his jaw on the floor. Everyone was loving it. The improv vocals. The 3 part harmonies. The crowd singing Hani Hani come and dance with me. The final build. Richness.
PNP > Rapunzel: Endlessly playful song that is perfect way to end a show. Funniest part of the show is when Dave’s string broke about 15 seconds before the outro-dance-explosion that becomes the end of this song. It was very critical that the new guitar get on before the downbeat of the outro because of how much the song picks up and to keep that energy. As Dave is bending his neck to put the new guitar on, after 3 hours of playing and probably in some pain, he changed the last lyrics of Rapunzel to: “Every single thing you do to me, my god I’m FUCKED, but I’ll do, my best, for you, I’ll do yeaaaaaa. LOL! I’m sure he’s used this change before but it was timed so perfectly with him tangled in a new guitar strap, with his head banging against the various items, knowing he had about 3 seconds to pull of this change and it was not going well.
Encore:
Singing From The Windows: I could not hold it together for this song. After a year and a half of what has felt like chaos in the lives of many people and in humanity, the acceptance and hope that pours from this song, and out of Dave, is enough to floor anyone that has an ounce of care for the rest of our species. I looked around and everyone around me in the pit was crying. Dave got choked up on this song the other night and looked like he was barely holding it together. There was a quiet and serenity for a moment without the band, and all of the focus went to the songwriter and the gripping power one man and a guitar can have on an audience of 20,000 people.
Why I Am: Man, it really felt like Leroi still carries a presence in this band and you can tell why the band sings it often.
Stay: By this point, everyone was so insanely hot in the pit that they were belting Stay knowing that it was the last chance we would get to sing together. The way Carter syncopates the china cymbals on the outro of this song has always captured me. To watch Dave dance to this one more time while the horns went off and spread his arms wide on the final 3 seconds of the song was an exclamation point on a wild ass evening.
— —
Anyway, I wish that every human being could experience what I did last night. The world would be an infinitely better place. It’s not often that we have moments in our life that alter the course of the path we’re on, but I think it’s important to recognize them when they happen.
Whatever God is or means, or exists insofar as we allow him/her/it into this world, God was absolutely radiating last night. In the faces of the people, and in the entity that lives and breathes and is created when these musicians get together on stage. There is something above and beyond human form that I am humbled to have been a witness to.
It sounds a bit wild, but we are so unbelievably bigger than our bodies trick us into thinking we are. We are so much bigger than the Warehouse that contains us. And yet, we must live and do God’s work through this physical vessel because it is the only form that we take while we’re here. We must learn from this self and feed it, nourish it, teach it to become more than what it thinks it is.
One other thought: to share this musical experience alone is wonderful. But to have shared this band with someone I love so deeply is all a person could ever ask for. It is the epitome of the human experience, that is, to watch another person receive their own gift, their own joy, their own meaning from something you believe in, and to know they will carry it with them forever. They are changed by your truth. I got to see her become fully and endlessly alive because of this music last night. And that was infinitely enough.
We left the venue on fire with gratitute. It sounds wild, but I remember thinking I could die quite peacefully at that moment! I couldn’t conjure any other thing I needed to go do on this planet. I couldn’t conjure a negative thought. It was impossible. The word “ecstasy” doesn’t do this feeling justice, because the emotions are so much further in range than just intense happiness. Perhaps “awareness” or “power” or “spiritual fullness” resound a bit more to me, but for everyone it is different.
I think what’s most special about this band is that their music permeates into the core of who you are as a human being. It’s spiritual. It’s bursting with truth. It transforms how you see the world. It becomes your attitude and your way of life. This is why these guys sold more live tickets than any other group on earth for 10 years straight. The range of emotion embedded in the music is also the perfect analogy of what we as people honestly grapple with during our journey here. The lessons are clear. The music has given millions of people permission to live better lives: with jubilance, resilience, and an understanding that joy exists even amidst the deepest of pain. Each day we have an opportunity to show someone else this honest attitude, this truth, through whatever medium we choose. It is one of the greatest gifts we can offer another person. There is no question I will carry the richness of this experience with me, from now until the end of my life. I am forever thankful for nights like this, nights that are simply transcendent.

A LunaTic and her Gunn (Part 100 Xs2) "Day 26: Seattle and Old Side Chicks
@creatureofthen1ght-v3 @crystalbaby12 @5sosfam1dlover @backoftheroomandnotbelonging @rosefilledhearts-blog
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're playing The Show Box tonight.
"SEATTLE!!!!" Colson shouts as Sex Drive fades out. "How you doin' tonight?" He asks to their roars. "We got a special show lined up just for you... You ready to FUCKING DO THIS!?!" He screams.
The nightclub rattles in excitement around him. Leading off with Habits, they flow into Breaking News 2. Slim and Colson rocking across the stage together as lights and smoke flash and flow around them. El Diablo follows with LOCO, GTS and Wild Boy. Colson jumping into the crowd twice already.
Luna joins him OnStage for an overly sexual performance of Bad Things. Unable to keep their hands off each other. Throwing their matching tattooed arms up into the air as they dance and bop around, singing to one another. Colson drives the crowd wild when he grabs Luna as she heads OffStage. Spinning her around to dip and kiss her passionately before allowing her to go as he shouts her name to the crowd.
"Oooh... This Motherfucker..." Luna thinks. Pussy dripping for Colson as she walks SideStage.
Meeting up with Sam, Dom and The Ash's, Sam hands her joint as Ashleigh passes her their usual bottle of Jameson. The five friends laugh and sing together as The Boys run through Trap Paris, Candy, The Break Up and See My Tears. Dom dipping off at some point to prepare.
Strumming the opening chords to I Think I'm Okay, Colson shouts "I WANT THE ROOF BLOWN OFF THIS MOTHERFUCKER TONIGHT!!!!"
🎼Watch me//Take a good thing//And fuck it all up//In one night//Catch me//I'm the one//On the run//Away from//The headlights//No sleep//Up all week// Wasting time//With people//I don't like
I THINK//SOMETHING'S//FUCKING//WRONG WITH ME🎶
The audience sings with him so loudly they almost drown him out like alcohol. The energy is INSANE.
🎶I HURT MYSELF//SOMETIMES//IS THAT TO SCARY//FOR YOU🎶
Chanting the lyrics with Colson as if they are their own personal mantra. The line still kills Luna's insides for Colson. Hearing it shouted along with a few thousand people is intense. Her eyes well up as her heart hurts for every disenfranchised individual in her presence who personally relates to it. Self harm is a serious and scary thing.
The building EXPLODES when Dom comes running onto the stage. Surprised and ecstatic over his appearance. He slams through the chorus with Colson before stepping up solo.
🎶Roll me up//And smoke me love//We could fly//Into the night🎶
You can barely hear Dom over the sea of voices singing with him. It's incredible to watch. The sound of unity so powerful it could give anyone goosebumps.
Both Boys are off. Surfing on top of the thousands of people willing to hold them up. Not needing to sing because the room is doing it for them.
Making their way back to the stage, they round out the song together. Singing GoodNight at different times at different ranges.
Luna has to have Ashleigh check her make up as she wipes the tears from her cheeks. She needs to get her shit together to go back on by the time The Boys finish. The reaction to Colson and Dom's song being so raw, Luna couldn't help but find herself to be emotional. For as hardcore as Colson is, Luna knows he is truly the sweetest, most lonely boy ever. Sometimes it makes her so sad for him, wanting nothing more than to protect him from himself. How do you do that though?
"SEEEATOOOLLL!!!!!" Dom shouts "WE LOFE YOOOU!!!"
"FUCK YEAH, WE DO!!" Colson shouts with him as they stand side by side.
The Girls are moving around behind them. Setting up OnStage. They've decided to twist the fuck outta Seattle. Rook is still sat behind his kit as Baze hands Sam a bass guitar. Luna picking up the electric she had rehearsed with earlier as Tech places microphones and stands down for both her and Ashley.
"So, much that we cooked up this little rendition just for YOU!! KICK IT!!" Colson calls as him and Dom step aside.
Everyone within ear shot loses their fucking minds the minute Luna hits those first famous chords to Smells Like Teen Spirit. Rook and Sam knocking in hard behind her. Luna's warm voice snakes around the opening lyrics. She stays on beat but her voice is smoother and more trained than Cobain's while still holding his same haunting drawl.
🎼Loooad up on guns//Briiing your friends//It's fun to lose//And toooo pretend//She's over bored//And seeelf assured//Oooh no//I know//A dirty word🎶
Flipping the script, The Girls are covering Nirvana. Ashley stepping in as her and Luna croon together. Harmonizing like an intriguing mix of handcuffs and silk.
🎶Hello//Hello//Hello//Hoooow low//Hello//Hello//Hello//Hoooow low//Hello//Hello//Hello//Hoooow low//Hello//Hello//Hello🎶
Rook, Sam and Luna ripping into their instruments as Ashley let's her voice fly loose. Raw. Not caring to be perfect as she belts the lyrics fiercely.
🎶With the liiiights out//It's less dangerousss//Here we arrre nooow//Entertain uuuus//I feel stuuuupid//And contagiouuusss//Here we aaaare now//Entertain usss//A mulattooo//An albinooo//A mosquitooo//My libidooo//YEAH🎶
Luna slams into her guitar as her vocals slip in again. Matching up with Ashley as they use a flat tone.
🎶HEY//YAY🎶
Colson, Dom and Baze are setting themselves up SideStage. They're gonna follow them with a Bikini Kill song before The Girls fully finish.
The stage is shaking from the mosh pit happening just yards away from The Girl's feet. Luna and Ashley grin at each other. Regardless of personal feelings, it's a great fucking song. Luna hitting those significant chords on her guitar again as her voice wraps itself throughout the lyrics.
🎶I'm worse//Aaat what//I dooo best//And fooor this gift//I feeeeel blessed//Our littlllle group//Has alllways beeeeen//And alwaaaays wiiiill//Until the ennnnd🎶
Luna and Ashley hum through the Hellos and How Lows before Ashley comes in to wail through the chorus again. Her voice the perfect balance of clarity and rasp. Instruments floating around her impeccably.
🎶With the liiiights out//It's less dangerousss//Here we are nooow//Entertain uuuus//I feel stuuuupid//And contagiouuusss//Here we aaaare now//Entertain usss//A mulattooo//An albinooo//A mosquitooo//My libidooo//YEAH🎶
Rook, Sam and Luna pound through the slight jam session flawlessly. You can hear Luna's guitar whine out Hello continuously before Rook rumbles them down. Luna taking her place back at the microphone.
🎶And I fooorget//Just whyyyy I taste//Oh yeeeah//I guess//It maaakes me smile//I found it haaaard//It's hard to find//Oh well//Whaaateeverr//Neeverrrmiiiind🎶
Ashley and Luna harmonizing as they repeat Hellos and How Lows again before Ashley slays the chorus once more. Sending the audience into another physical frenzy along with Rook's drums. You can't hear neither Ashley nor Luna over the crowd as they scream over and over about A Denial with them.
Instead of fading out, Rook picks up his pace to a faster punk beat. It's kinda funny as Baze switches out with Sam. Dom with Ashley and Colson with Luna.
Colson snatching a quick kiss off of Luna before his deep voice alters the punk girl anthem. It's sound is harder and less poppy than the one The Girl's covered.
🎼That girl//Thinks she's the queeeeen//Of the neighborhood//She's gooot//The hottest trike//In toowwwn//That girl//She holds her head//Up sooo high//I think I wanna//Be her//Booyfriend//Yeah🎶
During rehearsal, Luna had shown Dom and Colson where to change up certain lyrics to fit the swap.... And also because she's a fucking cunt.
Dom hits the mic, nailing the chorus. Being in Seattle, most of the crowd is singing along with him.
🎶Rebel girrrrl//Rebel girrrrl//Rebel girrrrl//You are the queeeeen//Of my worrrld//Rebel girrrl//Rebel girrrl//I know I wanna//Take you home//I wanna take off//Your clothes//UNH🎶
---------------------------------------------------
Bikini Kill is one of Seattle's few surviving bands. Tobi Vale being the first girl Kurt Cobain was ever mesmerized by, crushing on her hard. As one of The Original Riot Grls, she had no time for the quiet blue eyed boy. The band's lead singer Kathleen Hanna making fun of him one night, writing Kurt Loves Teen Spirit on his bedroom wall in Olympia. It was a direct reference to Tobi's deodorant. His most famous hit being inspired by a girl who couldn't be bothered by him. How ironic. Courtney Love HATES Tobi Vale. Courtney Love HATES Smells Like Teen Spirit. Luna HATES Courtney Love. Being more of a Pixies fan, Luna never cared much for Nirvana. Even before his daughter became one of her bestfriends. Luna's lack of interest in her family being a great source of comfort to Frances. Her hatred for Courtney being born and growing naturally. Watching first hand how The Mother's selfish and self destructive behavior had affected Frannie through the long years of their friendship. Pissing Luna off more and more with every missteps. Playing the 90s theme song with Colson covering Rebel Girl beside it, IN Seattle, is the ultimate FUCK YOU to Courtney Love from Luna. It's also probably the ONLY time she's ever secretly hoped her performance will pop up on YouTube.
---------------------------------------------------
Making the song his along with Dom as Rook, Baze and AJ slaughter the quick paced, bass driven, punk tune with them. Colson's deep voice penetrates the next set of lyrics as he slams into his guitar.
🎶When she taaalks//I hear the revolution//In her hiiiips//There's revolution//When she waaaalks//The revolution's coming//In her kiiiiss//I taste the revolutiooonnnn🎶
Colson screams before Dom hits the chorus again. Each with their own Rebel Girl in mind throughout the song.
🎶Rebel girrrrl//Rebel girrrrl//Rebel girrrrl//You are the queeeeen//Of my worrrld//Rebel girrrl//Rebel girrrl//I know I wanna//Take you home//I wanna take off//Your clothes//UNH🎶
The Boys flow into the gnarly jam session. Rook's drums throbbing as AJ shreds relentlessly. If there's one thing Luna's learned tonight, it is that, THIS motherfucker can RIP.
Colson comes in again, leathery voice shouting out the strong, female positive lyrics. Luna did this on purpose. Switching up the two bands, she wanted the gender flip. Just like Nightmare. It's an important symbolism of feminism and equality. Being smart and lucky enough to fall in love with a man who has a daughter and shares her views.
Never a quiet man. Colson is known for not holding back from stepping up or speaking out for what he believes in. Standing solidly beside Luna, pushing for A Change, they WHOLE heartily believe it can happen. Or will die continuing to fight for Casie and her generation's sake.
🎶That girl//Thinks she's//The queeeen//Of the neighborhoooood//I got newwsss//For you//SHE IISSS//They say//She's a dyke//But I know//She iiissss//MY GIRLFRIEND//YEAH🎶
Colson and Dom come in together. As Colson slashes his guitar, he looks over at his friend. On instinct Dom turns to catch his eye. Grinning, they shout the chorus together. Both of their Rebel Girls standing behind them ready to take over.
🎶Rebel girrrrl//Rebel girrrrl//Rebel girrrrl//You are the queeeeen//Of my worrrld//Rebel girrrl//Rebel girrrl//I know I wanna//Take you home//I wanna take off//Your clothes//UNH🎶
Shifting slightly to the side, each boy steps from the mic. Releasing it to their partner. Colson's guitar tearing it's way up and down Luna's spine from behind. Without missing a beat Luna and Ashley take the last hook together. Female Empowerment being their overall Life Goal.
🎶Love you//Like a sister//Always//Soul sister//Rebel girl//Come and be//My best friend//Will you Rebel girl//I really like you//I really wanna be//Your bestfriend//Be my reeeeebel grrrrrrrllll🎶
As Rook and Baze fade them out, the room is uncontrollable. Seattle LOVES it's hometown hero's. Courtney Love does not fit into that category.
"That was killer..." Colson says lowly in Luna's ear as he kisses the back of her neck.
With her body flush, it's her duty to take the mic right now. Nuzzling her head back into him, she drops a low I Love You before hitting it.
"SEATTLE!!!!!" She shouts as she tries to calm her insides. "HOW ARE YOU?" She asks to their cheers. "We've got one more cover.... How many of you know of Andrew Wood and Mother Love Bone?" She asks.
Only half the nightclub answers her. She expected this.
"A little lesson in music history..." She smiles.
The crowd hoots out for knowledge. Loving the interaction as Luna strolls around the stage. Talking with her hands as she tells the story.
"Andrew Wood and Mother Love Bone were the pioneers of the Seattle scene." This is heard by a louder cheer and a grin on her face. "We lost him unfortunately... In '89. The remaining band took up Eddie Vedder and became Pearl Jam."
A mixed reaction fills the atmosphere. Some knowing the story. Some caught off guard.
"Hold on... Hold on... Hold on...it goes deeper." Luna shushes them.
She squats down on the middle of the stage. Continuing her story as Tech sets up behind her.
"Andrew Wood was Chris Cornell's bestfriend and roommate at the time of his death." This draws a sadness from the crowd. "I know, friends.... I know..." She sadly comforts them. "That's why were gonna play this next diddy. It is in honor of Andrew. Originally sang by Chris and Eddie....  I KNOW you'll know it when you hear it.... So when you do... You FUCKING SING!!!" Luna shouts to their erupting agreements.
Standing up, Luna grabs the electric she's been using. She begins to slowly pick the soft opening chords with Rook, Sam and Baze behind her.
By their reaction this time, Colson is pretty sure they've lost the roof. Watching his sea of family, he loves the way his woman speaks with them.
In Luna's opinion, Chris Cornell had the greatest voice of his generation. In her mind, there's more pressure to nail this upcoming song more than the prior. It's personal and the social relevance meaning more to her than the Top 40 Hit.
Luna starts them off, making everyone around them ooze with sentiment. Her strong, layered voice a smart match to represent Cornell.
🎼Well//I don't mind//Steealing bread//From the moooouths//Of decadeeeence//Hmmmmm//But I can't feeeeed//On the powerless//When my cup's//Already overfiiiiilled//Yeeeah//Mhhhm🎶
Luna's vocal range is both bold and delicate enough to hold it's own against the already emotional song. Allowing a tinge of pain to slip through her as she sings. The crowd joining her.
🎶But//It's on the taaable//The fiiire's cooookin'//And they're farmin' babies//The slaves are all woooorkinnn'//Blood is on the taaable//The moooouths//Are all chooookinnn'//But I'm goin' hungryyyyy//Yeeeeah🎶
Rook, Baze, Sam and Luna flip through the chords of the slightly dark melody. Colson's deep voice perfect as he steps up to the mic and takes on Eddie's verse. His family helping him as they sing along still.
🎶I don't mind//Stealing bread//From the mouths//Of decaaaaadence//But I can't feed//On the powerless//When my cup's alreadyyy//Overfiiiilllledd//Oh ohhhh//But//It's on the table//The fire is cookinnnnn'//And they're farmin' babies//The slaves are all wooorrrkin'//Annnnd//It's on the table//Their mouths//Are all choookinnnn'//But I'm going hungry🎶
Dom backs Colson. Wailing. AJ matches Sam with a second rhythm guitar as Rook bangs into his kit. Baze nailing the bass as Luna's fingers fly over the lead.
🎶I'm goin' hungrrryyy🎶
Ashley pops in with the next verse as Luna backs her. The crowd flowing with Luna and Ashley at different times.
🎶I'm goin' hungrryy🎶
🎶Oooohhh//I'm huuuungrrryyy AYYY🎶
Colson and Dom coming back in together at different times. All four voices stacking themselves on top of each other's along with The Band. As the crowd continues to sing along with them, it's anything short of amazing.
🎶I'm goin' hungrryy🎶
🎶I'm goin' hungrraaayyy🎶
🎶I'm goin' hugrrriiyyy🎶
🎶I'm goin' huuuungrAyAyAyyyy🎶
Dom and Ashley shift their voices together to continue singing about Goin' Hungry. Their vocals following together beautifully as the instruments rage behind them along with the voices of the audience.
Luna stepping in to take over Cornell's major part. Voice lacing around the lyrics of Not Minding Stealing Bread as she belts them. Ashley and Dom still behind her repeating separately how they're Goin' Hungry.
Colson's deep voice slides in to add another chapter of theft to the story as he sings beside Luna. Picking up the rhythm, Dom and Ashley drop out. Leaving Colson and Luna to play off each other's voices as they sing about Goin' Hungry.
🎶Oooohh//I'M GOIN HUNGRAAAAY AY YEEE🎶
Luna bellows alone one last time as Rook and her guitar lead them out. The Show Box BURSTS with hoots, claps and cheers as they end.
Grinning, Colson grabs Luna. As her guitar hits his chest hard, he doesn't care. With all the electricity flowing through him, he can't feel it. Only her lips. Breaking away from her, he turns to address the crowd.
"YO!!! GIVE IT UP AGAIN FOR MY GIRL, THAT BROOKLYN BITCH AND MY HOMIES YOUNGBLUD AND HALSEY!!!" Colson shouts to the volcanic club.
As Ashley and Dom head OffStage, Luna grabs her mic again. Always pushing.
"WE NEED CHAAAANGE!!!" She screams to the unshakable crowds agreement.
"She's so fucking cool...." Colson can't help the smile on his face as he watches Luna.
Grabbing one more kiss, Luna bounces OffStage. Meeting up with Ashley, Dom, Sam and Ashleigh, the three are still zipping with energy. Sam promptly passing Luna a joint as Ashleigh shouts that They Were Fucking INCREDIBLE. Luna can't help but beam as she holds the joint between her lips and grabs for a five people hug. Friendship really is a BEAUTIFUL thing.
The show's not even halfway through. Hollywood Whore kicking in next before Rap Devil and Until I Die. Switching spots with Rook as they cover Shout At The Devil.
It's honestly Luna's favorite cover of The Band's. Not even because of the song. As much as she loves Colson, she adores Rook and loves to see him shine the way he does when he takes the mic. His performance is so on point, you just KNOW he was raised with music in his blood. Even if you're unaware of where he hails from.
Still running, Colson grabs his guitar for his cover of Ocean Eyes. Catching Luna's as he sings. Both of their hearts swelling for the other over the reason he covered it.
Next comes a slew of more songs. Slim making his way back UpStage. Their friends watching SideStage as they get fucked up and sing along to Golden God, ALPHA OMEGA, Lately, Bad Motherfucker, Wake&Bake, Rehab and 27.
The lights drop to The Family's calls for an ENCORE. Loving them the way they do, The Boys oblige. Heading back out to encore Sail.
"THANK YOU, SEATTLE!!!!" Colson shouts before finally heading OffStage for the night.
-------------------------------------------------
Carrying Luna over his shoulder down the venue hallway, Colson sees the artwork of one of The Boys. Laughing, he turns Luna to see also.
"I bet it was Rook...." She guesses with a chuckle.
"Nah... Too short." He continues to laugh. "Grab my phone and post it to my Insta, please." Colson asks Luna.
Slipping her hand along his perky ass into his back pocket, she pulls out his phone. Snapping the picture at his request.
"Here.... You know I don't Instagram..." Luna deadpans as she hands the device to him from around the side of his lean body.
Laughing again, he shakes his head at her refusal to even interact with the app at all. Continuing to carry her to his dressing room as he posts it.

"Holy SHIIIIT, Loons...." Colson groans out.
Laying his head back in delight as her tight pussy slowly slides up and down him. Teasing and pleasing his cock as she takes her time riding him. Colson takes her face into his large hands. Kissing her softly.
"Unnhh, I missed you...." He says as another grunt escapes him.
"Mmmm. Me tooo." She purrs.
Moving his mouth from her lips to her neck, Luna leans back, hands on his thighs as he seeks out her plump breasts. Sucking and nibbling on her piercings, Colson makes Luna shift against him faster. Rocking him deeper inside of her. She grabs the top of his hair. Pulling on it to keep her pace steady, he grabs and shakes her ass as it bounces.
"Mmmm... Gimme that dick." Luna moans.
Her demands excites Colson even more. Grabbing one hip firmly and snatching for her hair, he takes control. Sucking on her neck as he slams her up and down his cock. Moving her body like a willing doll. Making her walls clench and body quiver.
"My dirty girl likes that's... Hmm?" He says into her neck.
Luna can only utter sounds of pleasure as he fills her body. Feeling herself close, she starts to thrust into his rhythm. Colson pushes back, grabbing both of Luna's tits as they begin bucking against each other. Bitting the side of his neck, she makes him cum with her.
"Oooh, FUCK...." He shouts as they explode together.
Feeling his body go limp, Luna nuzzles into his naked chest. Kissing her forehead, they sit. The sound of the blood pumping through his heart synching up with her own.
Lifting her head, she asks him To Roll A Joint to his nod. Climbing off of him, Luna chops up her third set of rails today. Colson's fourth.
"What the fuck? I told you off your ass..." He teases as Luna looks at him perplexed. "You didn't get my voicemail?" He asks with a hint of disappointment as he lights the joint.
Luna shakes her head No as they bend down to do their lines together. Lifting up, she adjusts herself. Checking her nose and make-up.
Calling her voicemail as they pass the bone back and forth, Colson is definitely on there. Talking about porn and doing drugs off of her ass.
"And you say I'M WILD!!" Luna laughs as they head towards the door, looking over her shoulder coyly taunts. "There's always later."
Her words making Colson's member stand at full salute for her. Again.

Part 1

"Hey, uh, so we're Bacchus," the lead singer said, leaning into the microphone. Immediately, Angel doubted the rumors he'd heard. No way this guy was related to Marius. He had none of Marius' charisma. He hunched his shoulders, spoke softly, and stumbled over his words. His long hair looked like it hadn't been washed in a day or two, and he had a ratty goat beard. He wore an Iron Maiden shirt that, even under the bar's shitty stage lights, looked extremely faded.
Sure, he was wearing fuzzy pants and a pair of curled ram's horns that looked especially realistic, but that just made him seem even more like a weak imitation. It was like he'd chosen curled horns specifically to throw people off the fact that he was riding on Marius' coat tails.
The drummer looked even more out of place. She was a sturdy-looking woman, with long blonde hair cut into blunt bangs. She hadn't even dressed the part of a member of a heavy metal band, wearing an anime t-shirt and jeans.
And that was it for the band. No bass player, no keyboardist. Just drums and a guitar.
Angel leaned back against the bar, thinking to himself that this was gonna suck.
The lead singer looked back at the drummer and nodded. She counted off on her sticks and the crowd got a little quieter.
And then the entire bar was hit by a wall of sound. The drums were wild and frenetic, some of the best Angel had ever heard. But they paled in comparison to the guitar. The lead singer was absolutely shredding it, going faster and harder than anyone Angel had ever seen live. The bar erupted into cheering, and a scuffle of moshing started down by the stage.
Then the singer opened his mouth and began to sing, and Angel felt like he would've been knocked over if he weren't leaning against the bar. The singer's voice was a deep baritone that reverberated across the venue. Angel wasn't even hearing it, but feeling it rattle his sternum.
The singer finished a verse and launched into a wild guitar solo, his hair flying around him as he banged his head to the beat. The awkwardness of his introduction melted away, and he became a commanding figure on the stage, despite how slim and gangly he was.
He straightened again, grabbing the mic, and launched into a harsh growl that came up from his chest. The crowd went absolutely wild, and Angel's head began to spin. It was like he was drunk, but also like he was horny, but also like he wanted to grab someone's head and smash it into a brick wall. He could see down in the mosh pit that elbows were flying, faces were getting bloody, and no one seemed to care.
The band went through an entire set, but time had stopped meaning anything at some point and all the songs bled together. Angel could pick out some of the lyrics, things about gods and monsters and heroes. It was messy and violent, but at the same time somehow painfully erotic, and the audience was hooked on every line.
Then, suddenly, it was over. "Thank you," the singer shouted into the mic, "like I said, we're Bacchus, thanks to Rattlesnake for having us open for them, they're great guys. We'll be up by the bar for the rest of the night, come buy a shirt or buy us a beer or something, ya fuckin' animals."
That was right, they weren't even the headliner act. The rest of the bar screamed in excitement for Rattlesnake, but for Angel, it was like a spell had broken. All the awe and energy he'd felt was sapped away in an instant, the minute the band left the stage. Who the fuck even cared about Rattlesnake, anyways?
He could see now why there were rumors that the lead singer of Bacchus was related to Marius. Marius' style was different, more polished, more theatrical, but they had the same sort of resonance to their voice, and similar guitar work. Not like they were copycats of one another, more like they came from the same musical family.
Angel slumped onto a bar stool, exhausted. He hadn't even joined the pit - it would look pretty bad, showing up for work with bruises - but he still felt like he'd been beat within an inch of his life.
He was just thinking about leaving when he looked over and saw the band's lead singer - he was hard to miss, towering over even the biggest of guys - down at the end of the bar, ordering. Based on the way the crowd had reacted to him, Angel would've assumed he'd be swarmed by fans, but he was pretty much alone. A quick scan of the crowd showed that the drummer was sitting at a merch table, chatting with someone, but her side of the table was a ghost town, while a large knot of people were in line for the Rattlesnake side.
Angel had never actually approached any musicians after shows. It just seemed too needy, too parasocial. He was approached by enough weirdoes after work himself to not want to put someone else in that position. But the lead singer was magnetic. Angel couldn't understand how he wasn't surrounded by people begging for his attention.
He got down off his barstool and made his way over to the singer.
"Hey!" He shouted at the bartender above the noise. "Whatever he's having, I'll pay for it," he pointed at the singer. "And give me one, too."
The singer looked genuinely surprised by the gesture. "Hey, thanks dude," he shouted.
"Great set," Angel shouted back. "I'm Angel, by the way."
"Demie," the singer replied, holding out a hand. Now that Angel was right next to him, he realized just how big Demie was. He was built like a twig, but he stood at least 6'6", if not taller, and his hand was like a shovel. It completely enveloped Angel's when he shook it.
"What was the name of that third song you played?" Angel shouted. "That really fast one?"
"That one's called 'Wrath of Mars," Demie hollered back.
"It's really good," Angel shouted.
"Thanks. I wrote it for my brother, actually."
"Your brother wouldn't be Marius, would he?" Angel shouted as the bartender put two pints on the bar in front of them. Mars, Marius. Angel felt like he was connecting the dots.
"Uh… yeah, actually," Demie said. His skin was dark - not tanned, but more of a deep olive - but Angel thought he saw his cheeks go a little red.
There was an explosion of shouting from down by the stage as Rattlesnake took the stage.
"These guys any good?" Angel shouted, pointing a thumb over his shoulder to the band.
"Yeah, I mean, if you like country-metal fusion," Demie shouted back.
"Sounds weird."
"It is."
The band started up with some twangy guitar that sounded like something out of a spaghetti western. It wasn't really doing it for Angel. They didn't sound nearly as good as Bacchus had.
"Hey, uh," he put a hand on Demie's shoulder, standing on his toes to be closer to his ear. "You wanna go outside for a while? I'd love to hear more about your band."
Demie gave him a quizzical, 'you serious?' kind of look. He glanced over to the merch booth. His drummer was pretty much alone, messing around on an old smartphone.
"Yeah, sure," he said, grabbing his beer first.
"So you're really related to Marius, huh?" Angel said as they stepped out of the bar into the cool spring evening.
"Yeah, he's my older brother," Demie replied.
"So… what, is this like, some kind of sibling rivalry? Your brother made it big so now you're trying to catch up?"
"Fuck no," Demie muttered as he took a swig of beer. "Nah, Mar taught me how to play the guitar. We used to all be one band, me, him, and Elaine. We all got the offer to sign with Maggot Records but I backed out at the last minute, and Elaine wouldn't agree to move out West and go on tour without me."
"So, Elaine… that's your drummer?"
"Yeah."
"Is she like… your girlfriend…?"
"What? Fuck, no, she's my roommate. We've been friends since we were like ten, she's like a sister."
"Sorry, sorry," Angel laughed.
"S'cool," Demie said, continuing to drink.
"So… I know you said it wasn't a sibling rivalry, but I gotta admit… I think you two are actually better than Marius."
A crease formed between Demie's eyebrows, but otherwise his face was static. On stage, while singing, he'd been overcome with energy and emotion, but off stage he came off as extremely stoic. Had Angel met him in any other context, he never would've guessed he was a singer, his voice was so monotonous.
"Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of your brother. That's the whole reason I came out to this show, I'd been hearing rumors that you were related to him for months. But he's really… Marilyn Manson, y'know? Really focused on the aesthetic. He's a good musician, but you've got the better voice and better guitar skills."
"Thanks," Demie said, shifting his feet awkwardly. Angel couldn't help but look down at them and wonder. He'd seen those goat-feet high heels before, and they looked uncomfortable as hell. He had to give Demie props for wearing them even after he got off stage. That was dedication.
"Hey, don't take this the wrong way," Demie said, "but you really don't seem like the kinda person who'd like our music."
"What does someone who likes your music seem like?" Angel asked.
"I dunno, like… all those Viking looking motherfuckers."
"No offense, but you don't really look that much like a Viking yourself."
Demie snorted. "Fuck no, I'm Greek. I fuckin' hate all that Nordic shit, like half of them are Nazis. And their mythology fucking sucks."
"Y'know, I thought I made out something about Odysseus in one of your songs," Angel said.
"Yeah, it's only like… the invention of Western literature, or whatever," Demie said, then drained his pint glass.
"No, it's cool. I liked it. Most metal bands sing about Satan or their D&D groups, it's cool to hear something different. I mean, I expected you to sing about Satan, but…"
"Nah, man, Christians fucking took Satan from the Greeks. They had to find a way to get all these Pagans to stop believing in their Gods, so they made Pan into Satan. They took Hades from us, too. Like the Jews, they don't even have an afterlife, that was all the Christians trying to absorb Greco-Roman Paganism."
"Wow. I didn't know that. I mean, I'm Vietnamese, so I know about Christianity and colonialism, but I didn't know about the Greeks. That's wild."
Demie opened his mouth to say something, but was cut off by a shout coming from the door.
"Jesus Christ, there you are!" The stoutly drummer, Elaine, had popped her head out the door. "I got work in the morning, we gotta get shit into the van and hit the road. Come help me with the drum set."
"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming," Demie groaned. He turned back to Angel. "Nice talkin' to you, man."
"Yeah, a pleasure. Hey -- you wanna exchange numbers? You're a cool dude, maybe we could hang out sometime."
"Oh. Uh… I don't actually got a cellphone, I just got a shitty landline. And I live way out in the sticks, like an hour away."
"Hey, no, that's cool, no pressure--"
"Actually, uh…" Demie looked over his shoulder and cupped his hands around his mouth. "HEY! ELAINE! YOU GOT A PEN?"
"Yeah? Why?"
"Toss it over here!"
Elaine grumbled something inaudible but fished a pen out of her jeans pocket and tossed it to Demie. He caught it out of the air and gestured for Angel's hand.
"I know people hate using the actual phone, but if you wanna call, feel free," he said, scribbling a set of digits on the back of Angel's hand. "Nice meeting you, man."
With that, he turned and headed back towards the door, his goat shoes clicking on the concrete patio.
Weird guy, Angel thought. He'd never really met anyone like him. But a few things were obvious - he was talented, he was interesting, and he was definitely gay. And that was enough for Angel to want to keep talking to him.

Good Things Festival 2018 Sydney Review
Note before I begin: This review is limited to who I saw so not everyone is accounted for here.
The death of Soundwave left many rock fans without a decent festival.  Warped Tour had already gone along with Big Day Out.  Rock fans needed more.  Finally Download Festival came to Australia via Melbourne and will go to more states early next year but another legendary festival appeared suddenly which proved to be a good thing…I’m sorry.
Good Things Festival arrived this week spanning the east coast and if yesterday showed anything, it’s that Australia’s rock festival spirit is still alive and well.  As early as the first set with Ecca Vandal, the show got things going with tonnes of energy.  She balanced modern music with a heavier rock edge that made it equal measures perfect for head-banging and dancing most of the time.  Towards the end of her set, she even danced in the crowd.  A fantastic start to an amazing day.
Tumblr media
WAAX soon followed, with the same enthusiasm that saw them excite Fall Out Boy fans earlier this year.  The band powered through every song with ease.  Boston Manor came on next with the crowd growing as the day went on.  Singer Henry Cox did an amazing job on getting the crowd excited while Jordan Pugh packed every track with a pun on drums.
Later on, Babymetal emerged on the other side of the park, their first time performing in Sydney and they made sure everyone remembered it.  Despite recent lineup changes, the band drew a great crowd showcasing how diverse their fanbase is and surprising newcomers with their energy.  While Su-Metal is arguably the focus at this point, Moa-Metal showed she isn’t letting recent departures push her into the background.  A new female member (Saya?) completed the trio and provided enough energy to keep up with fellow members.  The instrumentation was amazing as expected from Babymetal.  Although the members on instruments are not the face of the band, they truly do make the sound work, balancing the metal and j-pop elements of their sound perfectly.  Ending their set with Metal Resistance was a perfect decision the definitely left an impact.
Tumblr media
Scarlxrd seemed an interesting choice for the lineup but his performance showed he can rock a crowd like any heavy rock act.  Calling for a bigger pit, he along with Jacky P, worked the crowd, joking around and screaming with every bit of energy he had.  Like any Aussie set, both guys were soon talked into doing shoeys much to fans’ excitement.  Much like Babymetal, Scarlxrd definitely would have left an impact on those checking him out out of curiosity.
Tumblr media
Tonight Alive then switched things back to pop punk with singer Jenna McDougall showing appreciation for being able to play in her hometown.  Fans sang lyrics back with enthusiasm and Jake Hardy’s guitar sounded great, Cam Adler and Matt Best worked perfectly together on bass and drums respectively.  Much like their Aussie tour earlier this year, Tonight Alive know how to get a home crowd excited.  The set ended with McDougall telling fans to crowd-surf to her, give security a hug then her a high five and fans naturally obeyed.
Tumblr media
All Time Low appeared to get the crowd really excited and singing every word.  While refusing to do shoeys (”Last time I did that, I was sick for two years.”) the band joked around on stage and did everything they possibly could to turn their set into one huge party.  Based on the number of people singing along, it worked.
Stone Sour were a fantastic edition to the lineup.  Corey Taylor has a lot of experience both at festivals and with performing in general and it shows.  Taylor worked the crowd and had them singing along.  Although many were sunburnt and sore at this stage, everybody joined in.
Unfortunately I have very little to say about Thee Offspring’s set as track work meant I left a bit earlier.  What I did see of their set was a fantastic mix of nostalgia, great rock and songs many know every word of.  Singer/guitarist Dexter Holland sounds no different to when he recorded Smash originally and the band played flawlessly.  Overall, it is the festival we really needed.  Taking aspects of past festivals and bringing together a great combination of unique acts.  Assuming they continue next year, go check Good Things out in the future.

Gig Review: Palaye Royale -  The Tuning Fork [12/12/18]
Tumblr media
The Tuning Fork pulled a crowd on Thursday night here in Auckland as Canadian Fashion-Rock legends, Palaye Royale hit up New Zealand for their first time. The band ignited the crowd with their strong musicianship and stage presence. They even jumped into the crowd and did parkour from the lighting rig! Opening act, Fire For Glory, connected with the crowd so well with their high energy and banter. It was an incredible night that made us all feel welcomed to get down and have a groove.
Tumblr media
An uproar of applause began before Fire For Glory even got to the stage. An eager fan got us all keen for their set as they cheered “I want some breakdowns!!” It was great to see Tuning Fork jam packed with friends, fans and family before their set started. It is an often habit that people arrive a little later so it warmed my heart to see a huge crowd so early on in the evening. Lead singer, Josh Pinho, introduced the band and encouraged us all to get up and moving at the beginning of their set. “Let’s keep this party going! When the next one kicks off, you get off the fucking floor! This one’s called smile” They got us all stoked and sweaty with this 2015 pop punk track. Who needs to work out when you can hit up a gig nearby? Especially when the gym instructors are a local band who encourage you to keep moving “I need you to fucking dance!” is a lot more motivating when compared to “just 5 more push ups!”.
Hands were applauding throughout the whole set but the noise really amplified when Josh mentioned a cover was about to go down. “I know what it’s like to be at a show and see a band open from up the road.. and I’m always hoping they play a cover so I know the words to something” This was followed by a Fall Out Boy cover of ‘Sugar, We’re Goin Down’ that got a lot of high pitched screams from the girls, and boys, at the front. It really is such a good feeling when you attend a gig and get to sing along to a song that was blasted throughout your youth. Josh even jumped into the crowd during the last hook of the song so he could have a mosh with the people up front. The band played so well together, despite getting a last minute call the night before to perform with Palaye Royale!
Their next song was fittingly titled ‘Hey Look, An Iceberg!’ as it was based off The Titanic. It got a bit heavier with some punchy riffs and awesome beats by stand-in drummer, Shay - Josh had explained earlier in the night, that they’d only landed the gig the night before, and had to call on their old drummer Shay, who happily re-learnt their entire set for the show. Talk about dedication to helping out your mates!
Tumblr media
Josh inspirited the crowd before their bassist played a solo, “I don’t know if you guys have done this before but this guy is gonna play a bass solo and you guys are gonna show her your spirit fingers!” Fire For Glory always manage to make the crowd feel connected and welcome during their performances. Just before an insane cover of ‘Teenage Dirtbag’, Josh brought up a great message nearing the end of their set, “If you have a mate who is hurting, please send them a fucking text. Tell them you fucking love them, let them know you love them. Let’s save some fucking lives!” this earned a wholesome cheer from the crowd and encouraged us all to reach out and be honest with one another.
Tumblr media
Phone screens shot up like salutes before Palaye Royale hit the stage. The Canadian band began their set with tracks from their latest album that was released in September, ‘Boom Boom Room (Side B)’. ‘Death Dance’ and ‘You’ll Be Fine’ filled the room with hints of inspiration from My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy which made the crowd sing back the lyrics with a helluva lot of passion. Their fashion-rock sound got the whole room jumping within minutes. The connection they had as a band was electric making their set feel almost cinematic. Guitarist, Sebastian, somehow made his instrument an extension of his body making me question whether I was in a virtual reality. He jumped into the pit during the beginning of their set, catching some of their younger fans off guard.
If you have seen any of Palaye Royales Warped Tour performances, this would not be a surprise as they are usually caught jumping from speakers and crowd surfing on air mattresses. Lead Singer, Remington, brought some of that energy to The Tuning Fork too as he ran through the crowd and proceeded to swing from the lighting rig nearby. They kept their conversation short and sweet but mid way through, Sebastian, apologised for taking so long to play their first New Zealand show. “Sorry it’s taking so long to get here, are you guys having a good night?!” Of course, followed by a positive pandemonium from the crowd. Palaye treated us to a new track too “We're gonna play some more new shit! We’re gonna play a song called Fuck With My Head”.
Tumblr media
My favourite moment of their set was definitely during ‘Ma Cherie’, from their 2006 album ‘Boom Boom Room (Side A) featuring Kellin Quinn. Remington cued the crowd for a light show, “take out your flash lights on your phone, let’s light this bitch like a mother fucker!!” before phones swayed along to the melody. Most of the fans up front had placed paper cut outs of roses over their flashlights in loving memory of a Palaye fan, Sam. At a previous show in London, fans had organised to throw flowers at the band, a beautiful symbol to never forget someone who was part of their community. I was in awe when I saw the roses scattered throughout the room, I thought it was an honest and humble gesture. The beat slowed down and the crowd sang along, not missing a word. Palaye had taken a seat around drummer, Emmersons, drum kit as singer, Remington explained “this is the last show of our year, but we’ve done over 200 shows this year so we’re fucking tired. We’re happy to end the last show with you guys in New Zealand. This is our first show here so you guys being here means the fucking world to us.” The set was fittingly ended during an encore of My Chemical Romance’s hit, ‘Teenagers’, leaving us all on a high note.
Tumblr media
It was so great seeing Fire For Glory and Palaye Royale support their communities with so much honesty and love. The energy was high and the music was loud, making Thursday evening, a night to remember. The positivity definitely lingered throughout the rest of the night as both bands met a few fans and had a chat.

My Experience at #BeautifulinNY + Tips
So let me start with the fact that this was my very first time to go on a k-pop concert and I was so nervous, hard to explain why. I tried to read people’s experiences from previous concerts, but that didn’t calm my nervousness.
{long post ahead}
Unfortunately, I do not own a lightstick, so that made me a little bit sad. I could have pre-ordered it (to pick it up at the venue) or buy it there because they set up a table for merch. But I found it kinda expensive for $55 so for this time I gave up on it. One thing to note, it’s better if you order it before the concert (which I wanted to but was sold out on their site) because everything is more expensive at the venue. Like I legit bought a pack of stickers for $25 which was a lot, I know, but that was the only thing left by the end of the concert and I didn’t want to walk out without an official merch. (the fangirl was strong in me post concert)
Anyway, back to the beginning.
I left work at 1 pm and when I got home I got ready and waited for my mom to come home from work. I started to panic about not getting there on time so I decided to watch Monsta X Ray’s new ep while eating ramen, only for Wonho lol While I was watching them on my screen, it was still hard to process in my mind that I will see these guys in a few hours perform right in front of my own naked eyes.
I saw on Twitter that people were already lining up by the venue and I was seriously freaking out. Although my ticket was for P3-P5 (somewhere in the back lol) and I knew I have an exact seat and everything, I was still worried that I’m going to miss something.
So it was almost 6 pm when we left the house and got on the D train (which I hate because it always fucks me up). We got off by Bryant Park/42nd st around 6:45-ish and went to Playstation Theatre at Times Square. There were so many people so I didn’t see at first where the line was for the venue. But then by the entrance, I saw some people standing there but the security came and put us in the right direction for the line. Good thing to know, Playstation Theatre is located on 44th st and 7th ave and the security told us to go to 45th street and 8th ave. So we followed the line and looked for the end. BUT WHERE WAS THE END??? like legit almost at the other side of the whole block, like I don’t even know how to explain it but it was damn long. And people were still lining up after us so it became even longer.
We had to wait for one and a half hour to get into the venue and by then it was way past 8 pm, which was supposedly the starting time of the show. I had no idea why it was delayed, why the line went so slowly, and I don’t think anyone around me knew it. But later on twitter, I read fans saying that a fan got injured in the line and that’s why. Which is actually a nice thing that they took care of the fan and didn’t ignore the injury. I didn’t mind standing in line for long because at least I got the chance to buy a fanmade cute Kihyun cut out that I could hang on my neck. I would have bought Jooheon’s too but it was all gone TT but I love that thingy so much like I hung it up on my neck even for breakfast the next day. And I also got a banner for free, which was handed out to everyone and it said “I’ll protect you, so you can bloom more beautifully” in English and in Korean (Beautiful lyrics) and I loved how the directions were on the back, like when do we need to hold it up and in English, Spanish, French, and Korean. We held up ours at 5:14 (Last Page), the very last song.
So fast forward to when we finally got into the venue, it wasn’t actually long after that they came out and boy the screams were so loud but of course I joined in. (I had no voice by the end and even now while writing this my throat still hurts). The setlist was pretty much the same as in Chicago so I won’t be going over that.
After Hero ended they greeted us and they had an “official” translator who was pretty quick with translating hopefully everything that they said. I have to just say I can’t get enough of Changkyun’s English, I really love it lol
They interacted a lot with the crowd like they were always like ‘are you having fun’, ‘did you like what we just did?’ and I think those were really good for hyping up the crowd. They also did like small comedy bits like who is the most romantic and they showed, sang something to prove their romantic sides. They also sang snippets from songs that have New York in it like Kihyun sang a bit from Empire State of Mind. Hyunwoo from English Man in New York. Also Wonho mentioned that Hyunwoo is a romantic person because he buys his friends in Korea all different types of presents. I got to experience Jooheon’s and Kihyun’s beatboxing lol Jooheon also sang from GD’s Untitled.
They talked SO much about Hyungwon and I really loved that. At the beginning and at the end they mentioned him too, and Wonho after they did their special stages and how he hoped he could fill in for Hyungwon. It made me feel really warm especially as I saw how many times they left a special space out for Hyungwon and sometimes acted as if he was there too.
The performances were SO L I T, they were dancing so well and so powerfully and the energy was no joke. But then they were also able to slow it down and make the crowd melt with songs like Ex Girl, Honestly, I’ll Be There, and Sweetheart. I like how one time Changkyun was like we gonna slow down to mid tempo and they literally sang their slowest song, Broken Heart. And then Kihyun’s iconic mom moment to Changkyun with ‘There is something on your face’ and started to get something off from his face. And Kihyun wiped the sweat off from Wonho (K I H O) They also mentioned like twice for the pit to take a few steps back for safety. That’s how Hyunwoo’s ‘please safety’ was born. (did I mention how much I started to love Hyunwoo after the show? Like literally he was one of the highlights of the concert.)
I also loved their outfits, especially when they went for this mint theme. And then for the rocker versions of songs, like there is nothing better than rocker!kihyun and his leather jacket.
Their special stages were no joke. When Hyunwoo, Minhyuk, and Changkyun performed 24k Magic, the whole crowd was excited because it’s everyone’s fave song don’t lie. Wonho performing From 0 with their dancer was great, but I missed Hyungwon. Especially that ionic movement in the dance was weird with the dancer and not with Hyungwon lol but it was still great and Wonho put his heart into fully.
But my favorite was definitely Mirror by Jooheon and Kihyun. When Jooheon was having sort of his highest point in the rap parts, I legit got goosebumps. He is such an amazing rapper, I was truly speechless. But then Kihyun’s powerful voice added even more to it, and that performance really left me amazed. I knew I have the right biases. THESE TWO LOVES OF MY LIFE DESTROYED ME.
They also had some problem with moving the chair like lol one problem was that they were sitting on it (during the slower songs) so no surprise but I think it also got stuck in something. Which reminds me of… WHY STUCK WASN'T ON THE SETLIST? It’s like legit one of my biggest faves from them, but they performed Blind and it was sexy and I was close to passing out.
Their vcrs were cute and creative. First they had one before the unit performances where they talked about what they prepared. I couldn’t see the screen well but there were English subtitles and I could kind of read it, so that was helpful. They were being dorky and I love nothing more than that haha. The other one was a bit more emotional because they were showing a mature side of them and a whole story. I don’t remember exactly how it all went down, I definitely have to watch it again. But it was emotional, that’s for sure, and it showed how important it is for them to be together and stick with each other.
Also Wonho the dear clumsy one accidentally spilled his candies from the basket to the stage and he was throwing them to fans from the floor. Jooheon was also there picking all up probably until the very last one was thrown to a fan, and he even bent down for them while singing his part in Sweetheart. One thing is that his voice was stable lol but even my mom mentioned it that how considerate of him was to not let them go to waste and make sure fans can have them. (side note, after Hyunwoo and Wonho, my mom’s new fave, she even said almost #1, became Jooheon lol we are in the same boat now)
It also took them forever to come back for the encore. I thought they are going to leave us so we had to chant Monsta X two times and we even started to chant Hyungwon :’) but then they finally came back and it was better waiting for longer because it was more precious to see them again. It took them longer because they changed into another outfit. And then they performed Fighter (L I T) and 5:14 (Last Page) (S A D). It took them so long to say goodbye because they shared their thoughts again, we had a picture taken, and then they bowed like four times from four different directions (while dragging each other hand by hand from one side of the stage to the other) Even my mom said that it looked as it was hard for them to say goodbye. Trust me, I didn’t want to say goodbye either. 2 hours was enough and I was exhausted, yet it still feels like it went by so fast.
But I happened to fall in love with them once again. They are so humble, down to earth, but then SO SO SOOO talented and powerful and energetic and funny and know how to hype up the crowd. I’m so happy that they were my first group for my kpop concert experience because I wasn’t disappointed at all. And I love them so much pls give more love and appreciation to Monsta X, they deserve the world.
Here are some concert tips:
it’s okay if you don’t own a lightstick and can’t afford to buy merch, you are still a true fan ^^
don’t worry if you can’t get to the venue early, if you are not in the pit then it doesn’t matter when you enter the venue, just try to be there at least around the time when the doors open and have time for yourself to use the bathroom, eat, and look through the merch they have
BUT if you are in a big city and you rely on public transportation then it’s good to get out of your house early because you never know when they will get into a problem, same with cars and traffic
if you have time, prepare with the fan chants because it always makes it better for the crowd and for the idols
try to know more info about fan projects and freebies or even fan made merch for a couple of dollars — it’s always good to be up to date and to support fellow fans, I told my mom I would rather buy from a fan a few handmade cutesy stuff while supporting that fan than buying a bunch of expensive merch at the venue, I mean it’s everyone’s different opinion but I always have the chance to support the boys, but not always have the chance to support fans
wear something comfortable on foot and prepare for standing up for the whole concert even if you have a seat (i was standing the whole time too)
bring a smaller bag, preferably not a big backpack, a small one is fine
prepare to be either very cold or very hot: like when I went to see 5SOS I was feeling cold in MSG but in Playstation Theatre there was legit no AC (idk how the boys could handle it TT) and I was burning up
if you have a shitty android like me and not an iPhone with a great camera, that’s okay if you record at least their voices are still good on the recording especially if you catch the ment part, otherwise songs with heavy bass and techno sound won’t be that good
a lot of people say this but it’s true: try to enjoy the concert and not record the whole thing — it won’t be that good anyway on your phone as if you see it with your own eyes, that’s why I decided for some of my fave songs to record maybe like 30 seconds or something and then I put my phone away and for the ment I really wanted to record their talk but even then I was just holding my phone but not really focusing on the stage through it
try to socialize (this is a big tip for myself too), concerts are great to befriend people with the same interest and likes as you, I did talk to some people but it’s not like I befriended them because I’m a social flopp and my mom was there with me too so I was just talking to her
if you have no idea about kpop concerts, like me, then know that hi-touch is after the show (at least that’s how it was) and the security makes everyone leave who doesn’t have a wrist band for the event, but they still let you take a few pics of the venue and of the stage, just hurry up because if it takes more time for them to push people out then the hi-touch is delayed and it’s bad for the fans and for the boys too
Specifically for Playstation Theatre:
The venue is small so be ready to feel a little crowded
but the good thing is that even if the stage is far (if you have a seat like in P5) it’s not as far as in a stadium
if you are in P5, don’t expect to see the screen, Playstation Theatre has a couple of small TVs hung up above people and they are just in the way to see the screen
I was legit so mad I wanted to tear all of them out from the ceiling like you think they might show them on those small TVs too but NOPE I guess they never thought about advanced technology and multi screening
There is a place for you to give your coats in
the restroom is pretty lol it kind of reminded me of Harry Potter because all the sinks are placed in the middle of the room and I felt like we can get down to the  Chamber of Secrets in New York, besides they also blasted Shine Forever (when they give you nice background music for peeing lmao)
So that’s it from my part, I hope I could cover everything important but even if I was there I couldn’t process everything because it was so fast and I was so happy and living in the moment. I’m definitely going to watch back some videos and be nostalgic about it lol I’m also waiting for the HQ version of THIS pic which was taken there by wonderful fansite-nim, I thank you with my life
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to message me or send me an ask ^^
btw, at the beginning of the concert while we were lining up on the street, a random old lady asked us if it’s worth lining up for this long for the concert and hell yeah it was so I think that once in your life you deserve to see your faves and to not care about how much it costs. It was great for not thinking about life’s problems for two hours and just to enjoy the moment. So please be kind to yourselves.

Maiden adventures part 1: San Bernardino aka "Maidenfest"
Wow. Yesterday was absolutely insane, in both the best and the worst ways possible, but I'll go about it in chronological order.
The day had come: I was finally going to go to a concert with my best friend. Jaidyn and I had been trying to go to one together for years; from King Diamond to Rob Zombie to Ghost, something always came up and either one or none of us could make it work, until now.
We left town around 11 and got to the venue around 1:15, I was shocked at how many people were tailgating in the parking lot but I imagine most had reserved seats or lawn general admission. There was a merch stand at the beginning of the trail up towards the gates, so I went and picked up four different designs, one of which was the venue-exclusive design for the California shows in Oakland and right there in San Bernardino, buying an additional couple shirts for friends. Walking up the trail, I was eager to meet up with Jamie/ @gedddylee and her sister, we’d been planning to hang out in line the moment we bought tickets in January and we were minutes away from doing so. After a few minutes, Jamie saw me and we totally freaked out, it's amazing when you get to meet up with online friends you've known for ages and then see a band you both love together. The wait for doors to open at 3pm seemed to take forever, venue employees always lag on opening them right at the scheduled time, but eventually, the gates were opened and we all piled into the venue, making our way to the stage… until we discovered that the pit was closed until 4pm, and we had to get entry wristbands at the entrance. Luckily, we had about 35 minutes left to do so. Setting my water down, I dragged myself back to the gates and acquired wristbands for myself, Jaidyn and her dad, then made it back to the line and waited for 4pm to come. It came faster than initially thought, and we were off! I led the way for the pack to follow me, flashing my yellow wristband to venue employees before sprinting to the right side of the stage and making it to the same exact row in the same exact position I was in the first time I saw Maiden last year, second row right in front of Janick and Steve. I couldn’t believe it! The same place twice in a row, more than 14 months apart. Could’ve been luck, could’ve been fate, but either way, we were all there and ready for the metal madness to unfold.
Exodus, Kamelot and Ghost were the opening bands; Exodus went on first, and they were incredible, I'd missed them twice over the past two years and I'm happy that they were the first thrash metal band I got to see because they're my favorite band (in that genre) of probably all time. I was right in front of the legendary Gary Holt and I'm so grateful I was able to see him because he has double guitar duties for both Exodus and Slayer, there's always a chance he's off touring with Slayer when Exodus are as well, but this was the only show Exodus has done so far this year so he was able to be there. There were a few issues with Zetro's (Steve Souza) mic during the opening song (Bonded by Blood) but luckily it was fixed by the second song. There was so much energy and it was borderline overwhelming, everyone was headbanging and throwing up the horns and I kinda wish I'd been able to headbang more but my hair's too heavy for that haha. They had Fabulous Disaster in the setlist and it was probably my favorite in the set apart from The Toxic Waltz since both songs are from my favorite album of theirs so that was pretty cool. Zetro actually pointed at me during Blacklist since there was a parting between the first and second rows and I was in plain sight. I was in shock for a few seconds afterward; it's always hard to register that you just had your existence acknowledged by a band members, let alone the lead singer of your favorite thrash metal band. They only played for 45 short minutes but it was so worth missing them twice over the years. I hope to see them again soon.
Kamelot were next and they were unfortunately plagued with the worst of the audio difficulties; there was feedback left and right but luckily my earplugs reduce the most harmful frequencies to your hearing so it didn't really bother me. They were my least favorite opener out of the three; as a whole they were okay, but they're American power metal and I prefer the European variety. They had a couple female guest singers come out for a few songs and they honestly stole the show; I cannot remember the blonde singer's name at all but she slayed my life oh my GOSH. Ghost came on about half an hour later, and you would not believe how amazing they were; I missed them twice last October and there is no better feeling than finally getting to see your third favorite band for the first time. Papa Emeritus and the Ghouls were on fire and they sounded fantastic, the Ghouls looked like they were having a blast and they really got the crowd going the most out of all the openers (they're the main openers for Iron Maiden this year and they've really won over a lot of the fans, which is amazing because Maiden fans are typically super snooty about opening acts, they just want to see Maiden), Exodus were an extremely close second. Papa was so charming and funny and lewd and it was my favorite thing, I love him so much let's be real. Fire Ghoul (lead guitarist) pointed at me and Papa waved at me and I can honestly die happy. I cannot wait to see them two more times in over two weeks. And then things started nosediving really quickly. After Ghost left the stage and their and Maiden's road crews came out to change stage sets, security was trying to divide the pit up so they could get to someone who was trying to start a fight or something, I have no idea; security were pulling a handful of crowdsurfers and bozos doped up on who knows what from the pit mostly during Exodus' set, but it was really getting more and more frequent once it came to be time for Maiden to hit the stage. Once Doctor Doctor began playing over the PA system, we were all squished together like sardines and I wound up having to put most of my weight on the First to the Barrier guy in front of me, I felt so bad for him since he was taking so much of the overall crushing and weight and was hunched over most of the time but there was honestly nothing anyone could do. I did wind up having a very clear view of the stage but I could barely enjoy it since I was just fighting to hold myself upright and trying not to die. I lost count of how many crowdsurfers/people who wanted out went over me; my neck and shoulders took a serious beating, I lost my hat twice but got it back both times, my glasses got knocked off my face constantly (I actually had makeup smudged into a lens after being knocked around particularly hard) and I had quite a few strands of hair ripped out from being crushed like a soda can against the people in front of and in back of me. I actually almost went down a couple times from trying to avoid crowdsurfers and it was honestly a miracle I managed to get myself back up again, the fact all my buttons and pins managed to stay on my battle jacket as well is probably due to black magic. It felt like I had every drunk and crackhead in the venue shoved up against me, I literally could not move on my own and I barely had the strength to hold my camera up for pictures and video as I was using whatever I had left to wrestle tall sweaty dudes off me, some of the ones I did manage to get aren't as great as I would have liked them to be since it was impossible to get a constant steady shot from being thrashed around nonstop. I was so exhausted that I only smiled a few times throughout the entire two-hour set and I wasn't even singing along most of the time, I was only mouthing the lyrics and I looked so miserable that Janick actually mouthed, "Are you okay?" to me but I think I lied and nodded that I was. There was also a pro photographer that scoped my section frequently so there might be a chance of me finding pictures of myself looking like an actual zombie lol. Luckily I was able to make it out of the venue in one piece, thanks to a very nice shirtless guy from San Diego; I'm just very sore and tired and my upper arms will be completely bruised by Independence Day. I didn’t lose my voice since I didn’t shriek very much during Maiden so that’s a plus I guess. Even though I barely remember anything of last night and the pit was the worst I have ever been in, it wasn't all bad, I do remember that the boys' performance as a whole was just as good if not better than last year’s show at The Forum; Bruce sounded the best I'd ever heard him, his scream during The Number of the Beast was on par with the one from Flight 666, which blows my mind because NotB is in the encore this tour and it was in the middle of the set for Flight 666. What a man. He made a bunch of horrible dad jokes before Children of the Damned and I could literally feel my soul leave my body when he made a Fifty Shades of Grey reference 😂 I made lots of eye contact with Steve and Janick, who may have recognized me from last year, he pointed his guitar right at me while shaking his head and smiling/laughing. I also got to see Bruce's bare stomach when he covered Janick's head with his hoodie during The Red and the Black, I unfortunately didn't get footage of that but I was pretty much yelling "GOD BLESS AMERICA" the whole time when it happened because it was toned and glorious and it cleared my skin lmfaoo Someone threw a bra at Bruce at the end of NotB and he joked how he has a collection of hats, “some of which are questionable” and I died hahaha. Bruce threw it to the floor afterward and Janick picked it up and hooked it onto his headstock and it was my fave. I almost caught a drumstick from Steve after Wasted Years but I was too far out of reach, had I been at the barrier I most certainly would’ve caught it. Maybe it’s a sign for things to come.
Overall, Maiden themselves never ever disappoint, they mean the world and beyond to me and I'm glad I did see at least some of the show, but I will definitely think twice about doing the pit at this venue or even going to see them at this venue again. I’m just grateful I have two more shows in Mansfield and Brooklyn to look forward to later this month, they’ll make up for this fiasco for sure.

All tea B.A.P in NYC
Hey I’m going to try to make this as short as possible and will omit real names for privacy purposes. Myself I will call Twix and my sister Skittles. Friday after work and school we decided to meet up to line up early for a spot for B.A.P since we had P 1 tickets. We were ready to go and packed a suitcase, snacks, and a tent while we headed to the venue Terminal 5. I had scouted a day before and knew we would be near the water so wanted to be prepared for the chilly winds. Most people on Facebook said they would start lining up around 12-1 in the morning so we took an Uber and got there around 11:20pm. We were so shocked when we saw that a line had already formed. Some people that were P 2 and P 3 had got there early Friday morning—talk about dedication. We were still in pretty good standing since there were about 14 people in line. We decided to set up shop and put up the tent, but the thing was we had never set up one before. Luckily there was a former Girl Scout in the group ahead of us that started to help. As we were clearly struggling trying to put up the tent, Almond Joy comes out of nowhere, and sets up the tent with us. Low key I just thought she wanted in on the tent because it was so cold; but, after we invited her in she politely declined and went back to laying under her blankets. There was an event going on at the venue and around midnight security comes out to tell us to disperse and we can’t stay there. They give us red tickets and tell us to come back in the morning. People converse for a little bit and post on the B.A.P NYC facebook for people not to line up until 9:30 am because of the special tickets.
Tumblr media
After a few hours of sleep we decide to head back to terminal 5 dressed to the nines with our sleeping bags and blankets. Almond Joy arrives at the same time and we go find our spots next to the other red ticket holders. Everyone starts to make small talk about biases, dramas, and the big 3 while trying to keep warm but it’s so brick outside. My sister finds a kindred spirit in a baby we will call Jolly Ranchers and they are so cute with each other. Next to us is another duo with a crazy girl with a big personality named Sweet Tarts, and her bubbly bestie Twizzlers. Near the front of the line by the entrance this petite girl starts screaming “ Stop It Just Stop It”. It was loud and she starts spazzing out saying people are skipping the line. She argues that it’s not fair because she has been there all morning lined up since 3:00 am and how people have been freezing in the cold and it’s not fair about the red tickets. She is pissed and storms off to join the line with her banners. At about 9:30 am security comes out and moves the line closer to the venue and separates the red tickets holders from the regular ticket holders and directs us to the other side of Terminal 5 where we wait behind barriers. We take turns going to the bathroom and some people go to change or pick up some food---those chicken nuggets though delish! Another member of our crew Kit Kat bust out the card games which include the classic Uno and Cards against Humanity which is so hilarious. During this time the event staff were checking the lines and handing out wristbands for hi touch . We were later joined by my sisters friend named ChocoPie who actually came with plenty of snacks including Poki Sticks with ChocoPies and put the rest of our stuff in her car for storage.

We go off to the nearest deli to charge up all our devices and come back just in time to get our photo op packages and wristbands. The packages are totally random and I ask people what they got and most got Daehyun. I look at mine and initially I thought I received a signed album from Jongup but the group ahead of us told me it was Yongguk. I didn’t even have a chance because Skittles pounced on me lol. I traded her signed album for Daehyun and my Zelo cards I traded with someone else. Closer to the time of the concert people started getting hyped up and there’s press going around asking questions about the group and the fandom. You have people dancing, rapping, and singing. Our group the Velvet Rope (inside joke) is doing the most---you have Sweet Tarts and Chocopie busting out lyrics for Wake Me Up, Jolly Ranchers on the side with Kit Kat cracking up, Twizzlers is freaking us out with her trivia skills like how do you know what stuff animals everybody sleeps with lol all and all the interview was funny af. There’s these cute korean girls in front of us that start talking to ChocoPie that just so happen to know the same people. One of the girls actually has the same name as Jolly Ranchers so we’ll call her Juicy Fruit. Fast forward to it’s time to go into the venue and there’s this commotion near the front of the line. Apparently a lot of people in the front did not have the red tickets because security told them otherwise. Also there were not P 1 but were P 2 and P 3 anyway the guy in charge came and sorted everything out and they were allowed to stay on the line. Sweet tarts crazy self makes a last minute dash to a bathroom nearby and comes back right on time before we start heading in.
Tumblr media
We make a mad dash to inside after getting our bags checked but barricade is gone ~ le sigh, but we still get pretty close. Our group is on the right side of the stage. The korean girls with ChocoPie are on my left and on my right is Kit Kat with the rest of the group. Everybody started coming in at once filling all the space around us in no time. The concert didn’t even start yet and on my back I could feel this girl super close and was laughing with her friend. I know that in the pit it gets crazy and packed. In my head I’m thinking to myself does she not feel my butt on her or does she not even care. So I’m listening to them and there’s three of them. One on my left had bright fire engine red hair, the one on my butt kind of reminds of Hyme from Rania, and there was another shorter girl to my right but behind Kit Kat. She tells the one in the middle I’m not staying here. Music comes and they start playing some old school 80′s or 90′s songs, like songs you would hear in karaoke. Everybody start singing Sweet Dreams by the Eurythimics. All of a sudden the lights dim, the countdown starts, and the babyz start chanting B.A.P. the dj comes out and starts mixing.  As soon as they came out we started screaming and everybody went nuts! I have to say that our group well the whole section was lit! There was so much energy yo it was crazy and I really didn’t that would enjoy it like I did here! One thing was that the girls behind us kept pushing us non stop and I turned to see who it was and it was the girl from before that was spazzing out let’s call her blowpop because she was acting up lol. She pushed KitKat and elbowed me in the sides. Her friend pushed Juicy Fruit but she locked arms with me and told me not to let go of her hand it was real in the pit omg like so bad. After blowpop knew she couldn’t push past us she bumrushed Jolly Ranchers but it did not work. The whole concert blowpop was like a little angry dog with the pushing it was pretty brutal. After awhile eventually the red headed friend stopped but blowpop never did until the very end. I’m trying to upload videos to this but yeah it’s a no go I think my files are too big or something I don’t know. I can talk about the interactions that we had. I came for Daehyun he is my bias but the maknaes came for me at this concert. Jongup is so fine like I couldn’t stop looking at him like what where did you come from? When I tell you he’s a bias wrecker that’s an understatement. He was all over the place pop locking and grinding all in your face lmao and gets an automatic invite to the cookout. He was looking at Kit Kat and she has the receipts. Youngjae was caught staring at her too. Mmh okay. Jolly Ranchers told me that she was dancing and just happened to look up to see Jongup staring at her like what and talking to Yongguk about it O_O he was definitely feeling the black girls that night I’ll say that. Blowpop was such a hater. That girl is straight crazy. Jolly Ranchers was so surprised that he was looking at her because she was so quiet and Blow Pop was screaming her head off. She told me everytime he came over to our side she kept elbowing her and Blowpop would try to mess up her videos when Zelo was in front of her. Yo that is so not cool. Jolly Ranchers got so mad at her she knocked the phone out her hand.  Zelo was another dark horse that I was not expecting to go all out for the concert. If Jongup is invited to the cookout he sure is bringing Zelo with him because that boy was not playing. He has such great stage presence and was so cute the whole night and was interacting with us the whole night I see you over there Zelo <3 It was so cute hearing him sing for his solo and I love his little dance he did with this giraffe headband on his head again I would upload the video but yeah. He fell down and was like I’m so tired of his dancing he was so cute. Coming for me?
Tumblr media
I’m starting to get sleepy so I’m going to try to wrap this up real quick. Dae dae killed me with his vocals I was like liquid. In general all the songs were good but the songs that I could listen to were Fermata, I need You, Body & Soul I was done. Not to say that I didn’t like the upbeat songs like That’s My Jam, Bang x2, Spy, etc it’s just I love how they arranged those all together. Feel so good was great too. Youngjae solo was good too and I was surprised that he danced in the very beginning. Gukkie was a shy little turtle on our side and reminded me of a painting artist, or recluse and he was so happy I was just like awww. Skittles was losing her mind over how good he looked especially with the white shirt. Jongup solo was so damn sexy. The end. Himchan was so cool and I love how he interacted with people. Lisa the girl he picked was so cute and shy. I think when they did the love shot she just about died. He also got a real kick out of the pink sign someone made for him. I was so mad at him with that damn watergun. He would low key try to squirt you if you had your phone out. Skittles ducked out of the water and he laughed. He caught me I was too thru and ChocoPie started screaming at him playfully informally lol. Near the end of the concert people thought it was over but they came back out and people lost their minds again bad thing nobody wanted to leave because they thought it still wasn’t over lol. Hi touch was right after and the line was ridiculously long but what I didn’t like was how they was rushing people and screaming hurry up. KitKat told me that her, Jolly Ranchers, Sweet Tarts and Twizzlers had a plan. They rolled up to the table saying “ Ayeeee” with Youngjae and Zelo was like “ Ayeeeee”. There were some technical difficulties at the the table lol I’m not obligated to say what exactly lol but it gave Kit Kat a chance to have a moment with Youngae. For my high touch I made a mistake but it kind of helped me out a little bit in the end. I had my phone out in my hand not even paying attention really and I’m on my way walking to the table when the security screamed go back no phones no phones you will not be able to take a picture so I had to double back and put my phone in my pocket in the mean time two girls went in front of me flying by me. I almost missed Youngjae because he was the first one so I did a quick tap and hi with him and Zelo, but I had to slow down for Daehyun and held his hand told him I loved him all the while the lady is screaming at me to hurry up like excuse me lol and Jongup is laughing because I’m holding up the line XD  no fucks were given I don’t remember Himchan too much after hi five because I was being rushed and Gukkie had the biggest smile on his face when I hi touched. I almost left by mistake because you had to make a left to go back into the main hall. They grouped you by 10 with me and Skittles being on the end. We got lucky because I was the only one that wanted to take a picture with Daehyun and Skittles wanted Yongguk. I didn’t go when I was suppose to because it was suppose to be 5 at a time and I was number 6 but I did the numbers in my head. I noticed that 5 would stand in front and the others would kneel. I didn’t want to be on my knees so I just kept walking and just in time because I guess the girls didn’t figure out what was happening. The other four weren’t walking up either. So I stood right in front of Daehyun turned around and he started smiling, I didn’t know what to do so I gave him another hi five and then I waved to Jongup and the rest. Then we took two quick pictures and I said bye to him my heart. I was so high after that. It was so good I didn’t even care about the picture honestly. truly. It was all about the interactions and talking to them. The night was filled with so much drama but would I do it again? Yes in a heartbeat.

04.21 & 04.22 DIR EN GREY @ Shinkiba Studio Coast
Tumblr media
💀💀💀MODE OF THE MARROW OF A BONE💀💀💀
Here are my slightly late reports for both day 1 and 2!
04.21 DAY ONE
-We ended up hanging out kind of center left and just behind where the actual pit was going crazy. I couldn't see very well except for Toshiya. This seems to be what happens at literally every show lol. Toshiya I love you but...
- Grief is somehow more intense live than I remember, which is great because I love it
- I love Kyo's dance moves during Ryoujoku. He gets all like. Slow and slinky. I'm so into it. Thanks Kyo
- Oh and during Ryoujoku on both days he had us sing the KOKORO NO... WAKEEE!!! part. I LOVE IT?!
- Kaoru had make up on his neck this time? Kind of like black stripes almost?
- AOI TSUKI? Hearing this live was actually wild. I feel like we weren't sure how to react? What do you do when you hear this song?? I think we were all improvising lol. It's crazy. Also, original Byou Shin is SICK. I had SO much fun during that song.
- I always like their lighting effects. Anything with lasers is great. I can't remember the song, but there was one where if you looked up above the stage you could see all the little points of light more clearly. Idk. Lasers are cool.
- OKAY I love the Deeper Vileness. And I understand that he's probably always sung it this way and I just didn't know, but I LOVE how he sings I will DIE!! in a WORLD!! of LIES and DECEIIIITTTTT!! It's not screaming like in the album, it's clean singing and I just like the melody a lot! It's been replaying in my head. We sang part of this song too.
- I LOVE CLEVER SLEAZOID LIVE. Especially how crowd interaction intensive it is. One of the actual highlights of these shows was "The DARK!!" (HEY!!!) "DARK!!!" (HEY!!!) "SUNDAY etc etc". It just felt perfect and everyone was totally in sync and it felt so POWERFUL!
- We also got to sing the WITHERWITHERWITHERWITHER part aaaaAAAAAAAA it’s just SO FUN
- For the encore Kyo was wearing what I believe was a fuzzy x-girl leopard print sweater. He kept rolling the arms up (side note: IT WAS INCREDIBLY HOT THAT NIGHT) and eventually took it off. #blessed
- Kyo continued his recent trend of calling for the left and right sides of the audience, the back, second floor, etc, and then by the time he gets to the center he doesn't announce it. He just suddenly looks really tense and angry and SCREEEEAAMMMS like he's one of us. I love it every single time.
- At the end Kyo hung out on stage for a while and spit water at a bunch of people. I love how he picks certain victims and just throws water on them and only them. He is full of mischief
- Kyo smiled a TON during the last song too and blew kisses to us!
- Aaand Kaoru threw his guitar into the crowd. I didn't touch it but I saw people diving for it and it looked pretty intense.

04.22 DAY TWO
- For day two I was closer to the stage and more towards Kaoru. There were a lot of tall guys around, as usual for Coast (I almost wonder if more guys came out for this particular tour...), and it made it really difficult to see. I did my best. For reference I'm like 5'1.
- Okay everything about this album makes it AMAZING live. It's such a physical and intense experience. I didn't get to see too much but I did get that aspect of it. Tensions are so high and everyone feels so powerful. There's so much violent headbanging and screaming and basically just yelling back and forth with Kyo.
- I did get to see a lot of Kaoru this time!! I love watching him kind of mouthing the lyrics/melody. At one point Kaoru and Die were kind of playing together I think?
- I always love un deux and how Kyo gets so PUMPED before it starts. KOE O HIBIKASHITE KURE!!!
- At the end of Disabled Complexes Kyo had us all yell PSYCHO KILLER for a while, then decided he only wanted men to shout it, then only women. It was kinda funny but we went with it lol
- KAORU WAS WEARING SOME KIND OF BLACK SUIT LOOKING SITUATION WOOOOAAAAHHH
- Also I still LOVE his haircut and I appreciate that it lets us get a clear view of his neck tattoo. It seemed like maybe he had makeup only on one eye this time? Or heavier on one eye?
- I love Kyo's outfit. Like. I can't explain it honestly. It was this open back off the shoulder style poofy shirt that he belted and it was just great.
- Namamekashiki was extra emotional on the second day. Also I couldn't see well either day, but before the song I heard kind of weird noises from Kyo? Like breathing into the mic or something and then maybe dropping it? I'm not sure...
- I LOVE CLAPPING DURING THE BREAKDOWN IN GRIEF AAAAAAA
- I also love the end of Rotting Root when everyone simultaneously screams KIERO!!!!!!
- Utafumi is still a winner, mostly for that sick break in the beginning and then "FALLFALLFALLFALL" where Kyo punches the air at hyper speed. I enjoy PUNCHING WITH HIM!!!
- Lie Buried was really fun because there were parts where we all just SCREAMED back. No words. Just AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
- I THINK Kyo announced "LAST!!!" too early because I definitely heard it before both Utafumi and un deux. LOVE YOU
- When Kyo was pumping us up he didn't seem satisfied with our screaming and said something along the lines of まだ地獄絵図になってないねぇ?(side note: I love when he does this, before I've just heard him say 全然聞こえない・・・ and the way he says zenzen is cute lol)
Anyway this means that we still don't look anything like a scene of hell. Like we weren’t on the level of intensity of a painting of hell yet. And let me tell you the energy in the venue went THROUGH THE ROOF AFTER THIS
- GUESS WHAT HAPPENED THEN. AS YOU PROBABLY ALREADY SAW. I CAUGHT. KAORU'S. TOWEL. FIFTEEN YEARS OF LISTENING TO THIS BAND. TEN YEARS OF GOING TO SHOWS. AND FINALLY. I ACQUIRE SOMETHING. Me and eight other people grabbed it and we almost went DOWN. Once we got ourselves collected and counted how many people had it we all kept holding on and walked together in a line to the bar. That was a very, very long process. We borrowed scissors and spent a while determining the best way to divide it up into nine exact pieces.
I'm not sure what to do with it now. It's only the second thing I've ever caught at a show in my life. It deserves special treatment!
Tumblr media
This tour is over for me now but it was REALLY FUN and I’m so glad I got to go to these shows with some awesome quality people and I’m sad it was over so fast! Come back to Japan for another tour pleaseeeee!!
Marrow is also the first album I ever saw live back in 2007 so it’s extra special live to me. I definitely felt like I was in high school and totally starstruck again. I’m also so happy I finally got to hear The Pledge live. Thank you for playing the entire album both shows 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Fan Account - Club Eskimo in (Toronto) Canada
As promised, I wanted to share my evening with you guys.
The venue: (Just wanted to give this for context). Really well chosen for this event, it’s all standing room, but there are a few levels which make it easy for lots of people to have a good view of the stage. As well, the stage is elevated a few feet off the ground too. A lot of the VIP ticket holders were in the lower section closest to the stage, there was a staircase to go down here and a railing at the top of this which had a railing for the second level - (this is where I was, and behind that was a bar). If you went all the way to the back behind the bar there was a staircase leading to the balcony which was for 19+ only (licensed bar upstairs and 19 is the drinking age).
Doors were at 7pm, and the show was scheduled to start at 8pm, but shortly after everyone had been let in, 2xxx came out and started their set and did so almost entirely in the dark. It felt like we were at a club! A little while into their set some of the other artists had come out and were dancing around the dj’s table, including Dean himself in his long black coat. He was absolutely adorable bouncing around and dabbing like his life depended on it. 2xxx continued on, and before leaving the stage they picked up the mic and ever so quietly said “thank you for coming guys” and nothing else. Precious is an understatement. There was a guest singer that came out here too, but I never got their name.
There was a pause after 2xxx where stage crews were busy setting up but the crowd’s energy was very prominent - every new stage member elicited some screams as the lights were off again and people were anticipating the next artist.
In comes Offonoff. That voice though! What a duo these two are - Colde was out hyping up the crowd and killing his vocal performance. 0channel was behind the dj table, until he came out and blew everyone away with his rapping. These two work so well together and it was honestly amazing to see them in action, will definitely be one to remember. And of course, we had another appearance from Dean. He came out and sang along with Colde and was teasing fans, getting us to repeat his more and more complicated “yeah’s” with a big smile on his face. Clearly he was having fun with it.
Miso took the stage next which had the crowd chanting her name. Not only was she mixing some great songs together, but this girl can SING. She was also wearing a giant floppy hat and I just wanted to put her in my pocket and run away, she’s too cute. She really had the crowd going with her song choices and all the mixing. (Sidenote: when I was waiting to get my coat some of the fans were still in the pit area and when Miso came out to get some of her gear she got another fan chant of her name and she went and shook hands with some of them before running away, it was adorable to witness).
Then we have our third appearance from Dean, where he starts off his setlist with Put My Hands On You and Miso still controlling the music.
The minute Dean came out and started singing I thought I was going to explode from the excitement. He instantly had the crowd the loudest it had been with every single person singing the lyrics back to him. Seeing his face light up when the whole room was singing warmed my heart. Dean was king of fan engagement - from getting everyone’s hands in the air, repeating things back to him, asking how the crowd was doing, getting right up in the faces of people in the front, everything. His entire set he was bouncing around and running from one side of the stage to the other.
Some Dean highlights:
Put My Hands On You had this boy’s face all smiles, really too sweet
During Pour Up Offonoff and the guest singer came out as Dean’s hype men getting fans to jump with them and throwing water
Dean rapping Zico’s part in Pour Up - flawlessly I might add
Everyone getting so hype at “private special do it stage”
Dean’s awkward dad-like dancing
Teasing the crowd by pulling down his jacket
Asking “are you having fun?” “are you suuuure you’re having fun?”
At the breakdown in 21 he got himself a bucket hat pulled down way too far and wore it the rest of his set (YAS BOY SAY BYE TO THOSE FAKE FANS)
I’m Not Sorry was so loud my ears are still ringing
BODY ROLLS
Dean being SHOOK AF at the fan responses all night
He actually clutched at his chest several times and had his hands on his head in disbelief
He spoke in English the whole night but I think got overwhelmed and started saying thank you in Korean when his set was over
WE GOT THAT ENCORE THOUGH
He sang a cover he told us he had never performed before (it was so beautiful, I have a small clip of it)
I’ll never be over the smile he had on his face the entire show it was so endearing
HIS VOICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO MANY RUNS. SO MUCH TALENT. MY HEARTTTTTT
BUT WAIT
Just when we thought it was over, everyone that had performed came out and were dancing around, hyping up the crowd, taking videos, etc. 2xxx was mixing some songs together and out of everything they could have played, a kind of trap remix of Drake comes on, Dean could not have looked more excited about this rapping every word - appropriate for the location though (they played in Drake’s hometown). This became club music 2.0 - such a cool way to end a show!
I could talk about this forever but I’ll leave it at this for now.

♢ shinee world v in la ♢
alright so I’ve finally gotten home and have been able to write a detailed fan account of the whole thing which includes their airport arrival!!! the whole thing ended up being over 2.5k :’))) unsurprising considering who I am (resident essay writer of the internet) but i did try to keep it as short and to the point as possible.
anyways if any of y’all are interested in reading a really emo and sappy essay about shinee and what was undeniably the best day of my life from my seat in the pit, read on!
Airport arrival: I saw Jonghyun’s face so clearly. Key went by me in a flash clinging to him, so I got a clear profile shot. Taemin’s face was covered but his beautiful eyes were visible and I got a very clear look at him. Minho as well, although he was wearing sunglasses, he was tall and brooding. Onew passed before I could see him. Taemin looked at me wide-eyed, inquisitively. I was in front of their van on the sidewalk making hearts at them while they got in and got ready to enter traffic to leave and Minho and Taemin got a clear frontal view of me doing so and both of them smiled, but Taemin’s eyes were on me for quite a while. Once they started to drive away, I waved frantically at them and Minho waved back at all of us.
Jonghyun’s face caught me off guard. I was in a stunned silence when I saw him, his poreless, airbrushed, perfectly chiseled angelic beautiful unreal face. The entire time I said nothing. No words came out of my mouth, no screams. I was silent. In complete and utter AWE. I’ve never experienced that before meeting an idol. At SNSD’s fanmeet, I screamed (to the dismay of Jessica lol). At every concert I’ve screamed as is customary lol. When I saw f(x) at the airport I called out their names. At EXO’s fanmeet I screamed to get Kris’ attention. But seeing SHINee, right in front of me, their beautiful faces materialized, and even more breathtaking than I could possibly comprehend, the 5 boys I have adored so completely for 7+ years, who’s music has been a constant soundtrack playing on repeat every day of my life…I couldn’t formulate words or sounds to express all those emotions. There were none that could do them justice. The love I felt was so fucking overwhelming, as soon as their van started to drive away and Minho’s waving ceased I broke. I cracked. The suffocating sense of adoration and joy at seeing them, seeing my boys, my loves, and my reasons for existence, I fucking SOBBED. Not small tears but full on snot inducing yelps. I literally choked on my emotions. I had to run back into the airport to my mom to hide these tears from everyone else because they were just so ridiculous lol. Everyone else was all giddy and going over their fancams and screaming with each other. I just cried and cried. I could not believe it. I couldn’t process the whole experience. I love them so much, I can’t even begin to tell you guys just how much. I realized it at that airport when I saw them. It was such a different experience than all my other crazy kpop idol meeting experiences.
Also, just as a note, the whole thing about them being mobbed was greatly exaggerated. It only looked that way on camera because we had all unfortunately formed our organized lines in front of the doors, but they ended up coming down an escalator so we all had to run over and form NEW lines from the escalator to the door and so it looks like we all tried to swarm them. They all tend to walk really fast so we didn’t even have the opportunity to form new lines since by the time we got to them, they were already nearing the exit so at that point we all just tried to see them and welcome them as best we could. There were only like 1-2 fans who were being disrespectful and obnoxious, but trust me when I say most of us were filming and following from a safe enough distance or at least trying to.
The concert: As soon as I found my seat, which was in row D in the pit aka the 4th row from the stage, my heart stopped. I was so close. SO FUCKING CLOSE to the stage SHINee would be on. And I was right in the center too, I’d have a clear center super close view of them, and the realization of that was utterly staggering. The energy around me was filled with excitement and glee, but I was in my own little bubble of heart quenching awe and disbelief. I could see my mom and my sister in the row behind me and I gave my mom the “Can you believe this is happening” look and she smiled and nodded. She and Ruby (sis) were experiencing their own waves of excitement but I wasn’t with them to share in it. I was alone where I sat but that was what ended up happening during the ticket buying bonanza. I was able to score 1 pit ticket, and we all agreed it would be mine since I was the “main” fan in our little trio. SHINee was ours, but first and foremost they were mine. But luckily my mom and sister got seats together and only a row behind me, so they were just as close as I was to the stage. While we waited for the show to start the venue played their music and the crowd chanted along to most of them. I sang too with my eyes closed, ready for the inevitable. I had to told myself in the weeks approaching the date that I would do my best to study and analyze every member’s face and mannerisms as best I could. Since I knew they’d move around and switch sides a lot, I knew I’d have an opportunity to see every member at some point.  When the venue got dark and the light blared and the first VCR started my heart was racing a million miles an hour. My mind was repeating “this is real, this is happening, they’re going to come out and you’re going to see them, you’re going to actually fucking SEE them. The boys who’ve made your entire life worth living for the past almost 8 years are going to be right in front of you, singing all your favorite songs (because all their songs are my favorites, LITERALLY), and you’re close enough that they’re going to see YOU too,” that last thought being the MOST mind blowing of them all. The people sitting directly in front of me were luckily not taller than me, so my head was higher than theirs when we stood which meant SHINee would get a clear shot at my face when they looked in this direction. I opted to wear these cute aqua cat ears with flowers on them in my hair to hopefully draw their eye.
Finally the VCR ended and we all stood up and we knew it was time. We screamed. I screamed “I’m not emotionally ready oh my god” to the girl sitting next to me (lol). I wasn’t ready and I don’t think I ever WOULD be ready. How do you prepare to see your favorite humans of all time? They opened with Hitchhiking and I was screaming the lyrics along with them, and oh my god they were so close to the edge of the stage, closer to me than I even imagined, I could see every detail of their faces and it was breathtaking. At one point Jonghyun looked directly into my eyes and held my gaze for a few seconds and smirked. What I noticed first was, they’re all so much more beautiful in real life than is even humanly possible, and secondly they were all dancing SO HARD and with SO MUCH INTENSITY it was stunning. They were dripping in sweat after the first 3 songs but MAN did they dance with every ounce of strength they had. Their passion and drive was just astonishing and inspiring to witness. Onew’s dancing was especially impressive. Taemin’s dancing is so fluid and poetic and I can’t believe I got to witness his shirtless godlike body in person so close WOW. Minho is so much more godly than you can imagine. Jonghyun is small (smol) and darling with those sharp cheekbones and puppy eyes. Key is so intense and cat-like in his features which are more defined in real life. Onew is pure gorgeousness, his smile is the most beautiful thing that exists and will ever exist. It’s hard to believe any of them could be so beautiful. I won’t go song by song describing how they looked and how they felt because I’d have to write over 10 pages and who has time to read all of that lmao I’ll just point out the “highlights.” Key’s English. I know we all know it’s great but hearing it in real life was an experience. He sounds so confident and cool, I adore it with my life. When he told us that this was real and we weren’t seeing them through youtube I fucking BALLED. Because that’s exactly what was so shocking and emotional for me, that I was actually seeing them. And they were fucking seeing me too. Minho and Key being playful and silly speaking English added 10 years to my life. Honestly, Minkey are so important. Their banter is the best thing. I couldn’t believe I was experiencing my otps in real life too LMAO. They were all exactly how I knew they’d be. Taemin would be shy and smiley, like the baby he is, Onew would be aloof and dorky and too precious for words, Jonghyun would be flirty and silly and not try out any English lol, Minho would be so cool and sexy during performances but turn into a sweet cinnamon roll during talks, and Key would be the leader, confident and charismatic and intense. They were all so perfect. Jongtae hugging, Taemin speaking English, it was all too cute to witness.
Minho spent a lot of time on my side so I got the most fanservice from him. It was unfuckingbelievable. He is an actual god among mortals I’m telling you. His endlessly long legs and slim abdomen, and that tiny gorgeous face with those huge expressive frog eyes and round lips, his entire existence is bliss. He looked at me and smiled a TON because I was making hearts. Taemin was in front of me at one point too, with nothing obstructing his view of my face since the people in front were small and he looked at me and smiled that babyish smiley of his that I live for. Key looked at me and raised an eyebrow curiously at one point as well. Onew got wide-eyed and excited when he saw me and a few others make the “MVP” with our hands during his line in replay. I can’t express enough just how fucking gorgeous and perfect their faces are. I can picture them all so fucking clearly in my mind, it gives me heart palpitations. Even my mom said afterwards at the hotel that there’s no way they’re real. Speaking of my mom, Taemin is the actual love of her life, so when he did his solo stage of Goodbye she snuck up to the front row just to watch him lol. Also during Savior, Minho came right over to their side and I looked behind me to see if my mom and sister would get any fanserivce since he had a clear view of them in the aisle seat they had, and sure enough I saw my mom smiling the biggest I’ve ever seen from her, and waving at him and he looked at her and smiled and waved back. When the fans around saw that interaction between them, they all started waving too, wanting to get a hello from him as well and so he obliged and started waving around the entire section. But the waving was started by my mom and she won’t let anyone forget it lol. “Remember when Minho waved at you and smiled” has been a constant phrase we’ve been saying at random intervals through the day.
This day meant just as much to her as it did to me. Just seeing them perform was indescribable though. I’ve loved their music and choreo for so long, and witnessing it was a whole different experience. I saw them at SMTOWN, sure, but that was only for a few songs and I was a lot farther from the stage. And even when I think back to that concert, where I saw SNSD and EXO and f(x) and so many other performers, SHINee’s has ALWAYS stood out to me as the most memorable and emotional. SHINee has always been my number one.  Seeing them for nearly 3 hours, I sang so loud and so hard (I kept my screaming to a minimum and focused on singing and doing fanchants so they’d see that we love their music here and despite the language barrier, we know their lyrics and hopefully they’d come back again someday soon). I lost my voice by the end and ended up with a sore throat and a fever the next day, but it was well worth it. I also couldn’t walk for the rest of the week lmao It was like I’d run a marathon after living a sedentary life for years and not doing any kind of training beforehand. My legs did not survive. And neither did my heart. I couldn’t listen to or watch anything SHINee related this whole week honestly. Even seeing pictures and fancams of the event (speaking of which, my sister got a fucking glorious fancam of Onew) hurt my heart and so I avoided everything like the plague. It ended too quickly. The whole experience ruined me though. I crave them so much more now. I want to save up to go to Korea to see them since I know they probably won’t do another US tour. I am going to live out the rest of my life just following their careers and loving them unconditionally as I do now, maybe even more so if that’s even possible. If I had the means and the money I’d probably drop everything and become a fansite owner who travels everywhere and sees them and even befriends them.
Their music represents so much for me. It represents the bond I have with my mother most especially. Experiencing all of this with her made it so much more emotional. We’ve bonded over SHINee since the beginning. As soon as I discovered them nearly 8 years ago, I showed them to mom. She was the first person I showed a kpop video too and of course it was SHINee We watched Hello Baby and their other shows together, and she learned about them with me and grew to love them as much as I have. Her and I listened to their music more than anything and their songs, their passion, their existence gave her and I a sense of happiness and motivation in a difficult time in our lives. We all just…clung to SHINee’s music. Their music is just so fucking GOOD. She has her own copies of all their Korean albums in her car and they’re the only thing she listens to. It was my dream, my ultimate dream to go to a SHINee concert with her. I wanted her to see them. I saw them before at SMTOWN in 2012 and it was MAGICAL. My mom didn’t get to attend because we couldn’t afford another ticket but she was in the parking lot waiting to pick us up and decided to get off and wait inside to try and hear some of the concert and she says she heard Sherlock and saw glimpses of SHINee performing through the curtains in the venue and she cried. She cried because she was so happy that my sister and I were there seeing them, and she sang along to the song and felt like she was a part of that experience with us. And now she got to see them with us, and us with her, and it was pure and utter magic.
Anyways, SHINee is my entire life and I will never be over this experience. But man oh man, loving them this much has only made the whole “post-concert depression” about a million times more painful and unbearable than anything I’ve ever experienced. Something that can only be cured by seeing them again. I NEED to see them again.

1. What are you listening to right now? “Kill V. Maim” by Grimes
2. What song makes you sad? I have a whole playlist called “I Used to Know You, But Now We’re Strangers” composed entirely of songs that remind me of exes or old friends I’m not longer in contact with..
“Gimme Danger” by The Stooges is a big one, along with “Everlong” by The Foo Fighters, which both remind me of very specific relationships. But, my pick for this is “Farther” by Third Eye Blind.. it could apply to a lot of different people..
“And I think about you dying years from now never having known who you are […] All I think about is waiting and all the people we are fading into Farther from you every day..” - “Farther” Third Eye Blind
3. What is the most annoying song in the world? Songs aren’t usually annoying to me unless they’re overplayed. I don’t know, no song is annoying me at the moment. Maybe that song “We Are Young” by fun. I’m not even sure it’s annoying, I just hate it.
4. Your all time favorite band? The Birthday Massacre, probably. That would be the most unique pick. Or Elliott Smith, if that counts.
5. Your newly discovered band is? The Regrettes. It’s amazing to me that Lydia Night is like 16 years old. I hope those kids keep killing it. Good luck to them.
6. Best female voice? Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star has an amazing voice. I wish I sounded even a little bit like her.
7. Best male voice? So, I don’t think he’s the best.. but holy shit, Ville Valo from HIM has a sexy voice. It’s so sexy as to almost make you forget how cheesy HIM lyrics are. Almost.
8. Music type you find yourself listening to most? Pop music, probably.. and shitty punk rock, lol.
9. What do you listen to, to hype you up? Depends on what I’m getting hyped up for. “Bubblegum Bitch” by Marina and The Diamonds for going out and looking pretty. All of Enema of the Sate by Blink-182 for energy in the morning. Kanye for working out. Aesthetic Perfection when I’m about to hit up a goth club, hah.
10. What do you listen to when you want to calm down? Belle and Sebastian, Slowdive, Radiohead, Lana Del Rey
11. Last gig/concert you went to? My friend’s band, Sleepsnack.
12. Band you find yourself listening to the most right now? My taste shifts once the weather gets warm so; Blink-182, Fountains of Wayne, Sufer Blood, Wavves, Third Eye Blind, My Chem’s Danger Days record.
13. Most hated band? I don’t listen to music I hate unless it’s inflicted upon me by other people against my will. So I’m not good with naming bands I don’t like. As far as bands I hate for personal or political reasons.. I hate ANY band that harasses or condones the harassment of women or minorities.
14. Song that makes you think? “Romeo’s Distress” by Christian Death. It’s such a great fucking track, but I want to believe that it’s anti-white supremacist, instead of the other way around… I have read the lyrics over and over trying to figure out if Roz Williams was actually just racist. I want to believe it was written mostly for the shock value and ultimately a song just telling a story and issuing a kind of warning.. but who knows for sure.. [sigh]
15. Band that you think the world should love as much as you do? I’m always kind of surprised more people I meet aren’t more familiar with Sneaker Pimps or IAMX’s early records. Chris Corner is kind of a hero of mine.
16. Coolest music video? Marilyn Manson’s “The Beautiful People” and the video for Death Cab for Cutie’s “Title and Registration.” “All I Full of Love” by Bjork. There are probably a bunch more I’m forgetting. All Grimes music videos.
17. Music video with the most watch? This question is phrased weirdly. But if you’re asking what music video I’ve watched the most… Malice Mizer’s “Illuminati.” Definitely. LOL. Along with Velvet Eden’s “SAD MASK.” Oh god, KALM flailing around in awful CG fire is what I LIVE for.
18. What do you play/would you play in the bedroom to spice things up? Souvlaki by Slowdive. With candles lit, after smoking together.
19. Ever been in a mosh pit? No. I would die. Look at the fucking size of me. I am a delicate doll.
20. Are you in a band? Nope. Someone start an all-girl Ramones and/or Blink-182 cover band with me.
21. Ever dated a musician? “Dated” would be kind of a strong word for it, but I had an ongoing casual thing with a guitarist in a band.
22. Do you wish yourself that you were a musician? Yes, but only because I wish I were any good at playing one of the myriad of instruments I’ve tried to learn. I wouldn’t want to be famous though.
23. Best all chick band you know of? Sleater-Kinney.
24. Last song that you heard on the radio/cd…etc…? I haven’t listened to the radio in a long, long time. I haven’t bought a CD in many years. If you’re counting any kind of physical media, I’m spinning an LP on my turntable right now; it’s Blink-182’s Enema of The State and “Anthem” just finished playing.
32. What do you think of Classical music? Eh, I can understand why some people find it boring. My mother was a classical pianist and I grew up listening to a lot of classical music. I just developed a taste for it after many years, I guess.
33. What do you think of Country music? It reminds me of growing up in Texas. There will always be at least one or two country songs I like - a lot of which reminds me of middle school dances and crying in the bathroom alone because my crush didn’t like me back. And everyone likes at least one Johnny Cash song.
34. What do you think of metal? I like it. I can only take so much screaming, to be honest.. but some bands I really love can be classified as metal.
35. Last BIG band that you saw live? Blink-182.
36. Are you a groupie? Nope.
37. Do you listen to music in foreign languages? I used to listen to a LOT of J-Rock. I also listen to music in Korean, German, Romanian, and French.
38. What famous musician would you like to “spend the night with”!?
Woman; Lauren Mayberry of Chvrches. She’s a great front woman and so, so cute.
Man; I’d say Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance, but I feel weird about it because he’s also married to another super-crush of mine; Lindsey from Mindless Self Indulgence… so maybe Elliott Smith when he was still alive. I get a strong impression that he respected women.
39. Worst concert moment? Any time someone drunkenly falls all over me and/or hits me. It always seems to happen. Also when I saw Kaya live with my sister there was a guy trying to hit on her the entire time and I felt really bad that I didn’t exactly notice until we were out of the show.
40. Funny concert moment? When I went to see Marina and The Diamonds there was a guy next to me with his boyfriend and right in front of us was a woman with her teenage son. At some point they lit up a joint and offered some to the mom (who honestly looked kind of square) and she and them got high together. It was pretty amusing watching them chill together.
41. Sad concert moment? I went to see IAMX with a boyfriend, who I loved very much, but he didn’t really know the band. A few rows back, my ex (who I had just recently broken up with) was there with a coworker. I was sad we’d gotten to a point where we couldn’t go together or hang out anymore because we have really similar taste in music and that concert was amazing and I was sad not to be able to hang out with him during it.
42. Best local act you can think of? King Woman is originally from this area, I think.
43. If you were a musical instrument what would you be? Vocalist. I suck at everything else. In a perfect world I’d be the guitarist or keys.
44. Do you listen to the radio? Honestly, no, and I haven’t since grade school, really.
45. Do you watch music TV? I don’t have cable.
46. Do you follow the music charts, like the top 40? I did in grade school, but I haven’t really paid attention to music charts since then.
47. Have you meet any famous musicians? Met Kaya at an autograph session at Anime USA. It was at the peak of my Kaya obsession. He told me I was pretty. It was awesome.
48. Are any of your friends/family/etc. musicians? My mom was a piano teacher. My dad is basically tone deaf, haha.
49. Song that best describes your feelings right now? “I Really Like You” by Carly Rae Jepson.
50. Song that describes your life? The ENTIRE record Froot by Marina And the Diamonds. ESPECIALLY “I’m a Ruin” “Blue” and “Forget” and “Weeds”.. and “Immortal” Yeah, I can’t pick just one song… The whole record. Just listen to the whole thing and you’ll understand me, haha. Which I realize, does not paint me in a very flattering light.. but it’s accurate.
“Gimme love, gimme dreams, gimme a good self esteem” -Blue
“Cause I have lived my life in debt I’ve spent my days in deep regret Yeah, I’ve been living in the red But I wanna forgive and forget” -Forget
“I miss all of my exes They’re the only ones that know me And God knows that sex is A way to feel a bit, a little bit less lonely Yeah, I tried to keep it covered up Yeah, I thought I cut him at the root But now I think my time is up Cause he keeps growing back Like weeds” - Weeds
51. Do you know the names of all the band members that you listen to? Not even remotely. There are some exceptions, but for the most part, no.
52. Does a musician’s physical attractiveness play a part? A part in what? I think it plays a role in how popular they become. As far as it playing a role in how much I like them, I appreciate bands with a strong aesthetic, but it’s hardly necessary. Some of my favorite bands I wouldn’t even be able to recognize if I saw a photo of.
53. What famous musician do you want to marry? I don’t think someone’s musical output is a good way to gauge their marriageability..
54. Favourite movie soundtrack? The Scott Pilgrim vs The World OST.
55. Any musician pet hates? Any time musicians are arrogant enough to insult other musician’s work just for their own credibility. Like, you’re not cool for hating pop music, my dude. >_>
56. What do your parents listen to? My mother listens to mostly classical music, my dad likes James Taylor and Joni Mitchell
57. What are you listening to right NOW? Private Affair by The Virgins. I fucking love this song.
58. Do you wear band etc T-shirts? I hate wearing band t-shirts with a fiery passion of a thousand suns with VERY rare exceptions.
59. What do you think of people who do? I’m usually pretty.. not into those people. Like, hate is a strong word… but I’m really into fashion. Band t-shirts are like a really lazy way of expressing yourself to me. And they’re almost always printed on really boxy, non-soft material. Everyone wants to fight me on this.. I just don’t care for them.
60. What music sub-culture do you feel like you belong to? None? I always dressed too goth to really feel like I belong in the punk scene even though that was primarily what I was listening to in high school. I guess goth, but I don’t get along with or have much in common with most of the generic goths I know and I listen to too much pop for them. Is the indie-synthpop scene a thing..?
61. What song is stuck in your head right now? The theme song to Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
62. Do you sing in the shower? When I was a kid I would drag my giant boom box in the the bathroom with me and listen to it while taking a bath; mostly audiobooks, but sometimes music. I usually didn’t sing along though.
63. If so, what? If not, why not? Not sure? I sing in the car a lot. If music is on and I know the words and I’m alone, I’m singing.
66. How important is your partners taste in music to you? I’m really open about music, so whatever they are into I’ll probably get into as well. If we already share a taste in music we can discover more together, which is really fun. As long as they don’t HATE my music, it’s fine.
67. Hanson moves in next door to you, do you go introduce yourself, or do you arrange to beat them up? I’d probably just update my facebook status like, “Hanson lives next door to me. So, there’s that.” And invite them to my next barbecue.
68. Sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll, you dig? Yes, sometimes, and yes.
69. Do you cook to music? Sometimes, I no longer have speakers right next to the kitchen.
70. Do you sing in the toilet? Nah.
