i know this is a kinda cursed question but what would be the birdhouse au guys in omegaverse?
tbh i don't have as exciting of an answer for you as you'd probably like bc the premise of the AU hangs so heavily on the idea of these guys being alternate versions of each other that having them have different secondary genders doesn't reeeeally make that much sense, but hey why not here's a few hypotheticals under the cut:
the most obvious scenarios in this case are sams all alphas + dreams all omegas, and sams all omegas + dreams all alphas in terms of like, traditionally how omegaverse ship content tends to pan out. so we'll start from here. regardless of who's who, the uh Biological Compatibility, let's say, is a draw and repellant to both the dreams and the sams, depending on who and when and in what context. j!Dream is absolutely down to babytrap himself into more privileges, especially if he's capable of becoming pregnant. c!Dream is deathly afraid of that same possibility. j!Sam is uhhh well. He's Got Feelings about the whole idea of being ~meant to be~ biologically and also afraid that it'll be used against him through Dream's Manipulations (whether he's an alpha or omega, in this scenario)--depending on the scenario, he's definitely ping-ponging between putting Way too much emphasis on the secondary sex thing or completely ignoring its existence. ummm ff!Sam kindaaa dgaf besides how it all justifies stuff sexually like he's just horny that's it.
if either sam or dream are betas, then that whole like "inherent compatibility" thing wouldn't exist and affect their dynamics. if the sams were betas, they'd definitely like appreciate the relative detachment biologically, especially when compared to ruts/heats where dream loses control while sam gets to keep it. if the dreams are betas, then sam is probably keeping them pretty far away from ruts/heats just bc they don't like the feeling of being vulnerable like that in front of dream.
if we have alpha/alpha or omega/omega, i kinda almost feel like there'd be a point of proving how dream is "evil" because he's...a worse alpha or omega? not from a sexual standpoint, but like, just in general. the similarities are kinda discomfiting to sam and sam is making a general effort to put some distance there. dream is a bad alpha bc he's overly domineering and doesn't give a crap about his pack, dream is a bad omega because he's not nurturing enough and too assertive or whatever stupid excuse etc. and beta/beta is just kinda normal ig.
i'm boring, i feel like there's stuff that could technically be explored in all these scenarios but alpha sams + omega dreams kinda works best for the format and characterizations. (for the record, i'm not talking abt coparents here bc that's not my turf, though i'm 90% sure that theyd both be alphas? ik angela has said pream alpha before.) w/ mayfair specifically, a lot of what makes it go down the way it does is j!awesamdream kinda just kinda diving headfirst into craziness just bc nothing's there to stop them, and i feel like being enabled biologically fits much better for their whole Progression compared to if biology were to work against their whole dynamic. pre-birdhouse, j!sam is seeing mayfair as the Ultimate Victory, and like. him and dream and a perfect house, his prisoner, his omega, whatever? combined with the ways that four square would deeefinitely touch on this in an omegaverse AU, it's really the perfect excuse for him (and dream) to let biology run its course and uh, take over. it's the perfect excuse for him to see dream as his and the perfect excuse for them to just, go fucking nuts with it. so they go fucking nuts with it.
j!dream would prefer being an omega like for the record. like i mean there are a whole host of reasons but also like bc he's a little dumbass a huge one is literally just convenience. yeah it's not hard to carry lube around everywhere but it's the principle of the matter you know. c!dream, on the other hand, is even more high-strung and anxious than he is in canon bc of this whole deal nuh uh do not pass go do not collect $200 GET HIM OUT OF HERE [rattles the bars of his cage] etc. heats would be. an especially sore spot--a point of abject terror before he gets involved with anyone and kinda just awful when he does join the hell polycule; sam isn't cruel during them, but that doesn't really make the lack of control feel better. especially when his sync up with j!dream. sam...probably isn't going to get him suppressants tho 😭also jmah!duo are too stupid to be biologically compatible the chances of j!dream getting knocked up and dying are astronomically high whenever it's possible
in terms of like, allowing for a little more variability between the sams and the dreams, i'd say that p!dream as stated earlier would likely be an alpha. c!dream and j!dream have to be the same it's part of the premise for their universes that's not gonna change, omega for them and alpha for j!sam again for the reasons outlined above yes i'm boring. i can totally see ff!sam as either a beta or an omega. omega ff!sam is really awful in a kinda funny way kenjo would probably support the "let ff!sam have a baby" agenda but i think all of the rest of us are against his parenting. p!sam is...im pretty sure he's an alpha but im not sure that's angela's turf. there's something a little funny to me personally with birdhouse involving alpha trans guy pream + omegas cis guys c/jream i wont lie like i think theyd kinda make a joke or two about that.
just for like, very general non-secondary gender specific notes? pheremone stuff allows for another means of communication that doesn't easily allow for lying, for better and for worse. there's a lot of fear in this house. it probably lingers in the corners. the basement reeks of it. it makes it a little more obvious too when someone's had sex, which i mean, it's not like they were subtle before but yknow. mating/bonds kinda work differently i think depending on how people's omegaverse rules work But i think j!sam in general hesitates on initating mating bonds like, for awhile. ff!sam has no desire to be mated to either j! or c!dream; they're prisoners. not mates. i actually do like the idea of er j!sam ending up claiming j!dream during a very specific incident, especially when the creation of a bond incorporates like a level of greater sensitivity? or whatever to the other's emotions, or like outright emotional telepathy in some versions. j!sam can't admit the drive behind why he did what he did, especially in the scenario in which he does it, but also the added connection to j!dream is. somewhat intoxicating. uhh h what else exists in omegaverse...the added biological component to the conditioning for j!Dream is. errrr. bad. really bad. mayfair probably gets cranked up to a higher intensity than it already is which is insane considering mayfair (gestures vaguely again at the whole, theyre too stupid to be biologically compatible thing, technically j!sam is probably careful enough to remember birth control consistently but i dont trust this mans for my life). no clue what theyd smell like for the damn record. maybe cinnamon, for c/jream. either like cinnamon/vanilla/warm spice-y or something like, clean and fresh and very faintly floral, mostly like grass. shrug. ummmm idk idk .. sam would fucking love having an alpha voice holee fuck this guy was already talking to dream with a bad dog voice in the prison break. tho he basically like engineers that without omegaverse in jmah already bc he's a freak. the ways theyd work with and against their instincts is kinda interesting? anyway yea that's it

Goro Akechi Propaganda
He’s Not Very Happy About It
He dies in the bowels of ship that is the manifestation of his fathers distorted mind, killed by his father’s representation of himself, sacrificing himself for the protags right after boss battling them. And then he comes back to life in third semester when a perfect reality starts because as eventually revealed his being alive and being free is the One True Wish for a perfect reality by the protagonist.  And then he dies again because he doesn’t want to be a puppet under control of this false reality. And then he comes back to life again implied at the very end through the power of loving really hard
Imagine coming back for ur living bf in a perfect reality u dont want id go crazy. And the true end implies he comes back AGAIN
MASSIVE spoilers: He was revealed to be a serial killer with no friends and got so attached to the main character he sacrificed himself to save him. In the remastered version, Persona 5 Royal, he comes back a little while later. However, that’s because the party was locked in an alternate universe in which everyone’s deepest desires comes true, and the main character’s wish was to see Akechi again. Once they fix the timeline he dies again (maybe…?)
Ok so technically you gotta squint to say he came back in the real world, but a version of him came back and even after that, the devs say it’s up to interpretation if he came back or not, so I’m interpreting he did come back from the dead
Disclaimer out of the way, my god I love this fucked up little guy. Has an absolute sad life where his mom dies and he’s forced to become an assassin for his dad who doesn’t even know it’s him, and does so with the single minded goal of revenge. He has a tragic “totally platonic” (read “homosexual”) relationship with a guy in similar circumstances, but got to make the best of it instead of losing himself to revenge. In his final moments, he realizes that he had made friends who would’ve been there for him, and both he and the protag wish things could’ve been different. He dies leaving an unfulfilled promise with his rival, and a massive “what if?” had the two been able to have a relationship outside of all the bullshit life had thrown at both of them.
AND THEN
An egomaniac gains reality altering powers and tries to convince the good guys that he should be allowed to reshape the world by granting all of their deepest wishes. And Akechi is just sorta there. He doesn’t remember how he survived or how he got there, but he reconnects with his rival and the two immediately start working on fighting the egomaniac. It’s not clear what wish the egomaniac had granted the two of them, and it remains this mystery. The two continue to have a complicated relationship, but it’s revealed: Akechi was brought back by the egomaniac as his rivals greatest wish. He wanted Akechi back more than anything else in the world. And if they defeat the egomaniac, Akechi will leave as well, he’ll go back to being dead. But the two believe too strongly in free will and oppose the egomaniac anyways. There’s a heartbreaking scene where Akechi convinces the protag to let him die again, because he refuses to have his life controlled by people he hates any longer. And so, the egomaniac is defeated, and Akechi disappears. Leaving our protag to mourn and constantly wonder what if. And in the final cutscene of the game, we see a flash of akechis outfit in the reflection of a window. Was it a hallucination? Us Akechi truly back? It’s unclear, but the the protag has a lot of feelings about it anyways.
For the tragedy of both his death and his revival, Akechi truly deserves the win here. His life was a sad one, leading to a tragically preventable death that fits into the themes of cruel adults exploiting children and of free Will being above all. And his revival is more of the same, just under the guise of magnanimity. I love this character with all my heart, and both his two deaths and ambiguous revivals pull at my heartstrings constantly

Ship Bias!!
5 ships i'm biased about for my muse! ( accepting. )
and the #1 contender is... shocking nobody,
Sonic X Cynic.
listen. okay. when i first conceptualized cynic, I went in with absolutely no expectations when it came to ships. the goal was just to play a version of sonic that was fun to hate with a warped idea of self image and right and wrong. I was not expecting cynonic (and every variation it can come in) to be one of the main OTPs here. Tbh I didn't even care much for dupe-shipping since part of me thought it was a lil weird, and the other part just had no experience w the concept. enter my friend Jeremy, who came up with an AU sonic on the spot as I was sharing a bit of info about cynic that is basically the polar opposite to his rugged bad boi persona. a couple impromptu improv charming exchanges between them later and I was sold LMFAO. I haven't been the same since. and since then I've developed such a soft spot for the idea of this traumatized lil rat learning to become...okay with himself and who he is and come away from the darkness through Sonic's help. (frankly, sonic being such a strong influence in the other character's life in a positive way has always been one of my favorite things abt his pairings) I've adored every interaction he's had with every sonic! platonic, romantic, sibling like, enemies -- it does not matter to me. it will always fascinate me and I will always get a kick out of writing this guy's complicated and messy feelings abt his alternates because it's always so unique every time.
Shadow X Cynic.
I'LL BE REAL CHIEF. the OG plan was so far away from this pairing. I came up with cynic during a period where sonadow had been a bit soured for me due to bad rp experiences. part of the way I established cynic and his dynamic with his own shadow from his dimension was a little influenced by this fact. WITH THAT SAID - I've been completely sold on the pairing I have going with seiko's shadow (@somewhereinchaos) because it's like a completely different spin on sonadow. at first it just seems like two edgy moody assholes that somehow get along but then the nuance and actual sonadow undertones start coming out as their relationship develops. cynic and shadow are quite similar and they find comradery in their shared grievances with the world - yet at the same time also have strongly different personalities and they manage to strike an unexpected balance of lifting each other up and leaning on one another for support. I love that cynic brings out a soft and emotionally consoling side of seiko's shadow that had nearly been forgotten, while shadow brings out more of the heart and passion that makes cynic A sonic! its so fascinating... their relationship has also made me fall in love with sonadow all over again and I just care them so very much. 🙏
Scourge X Cynic.
You are strongly responsible for this brainrot turning into a full fledged otp because I was not prepared for how much these two would have me in a choke hold HDGLJ. like, I already knew cynic would think scourge is cool, that he'd have a person crush on him. I've said before while describing him that cynic is of a similar concept to scourge if he just never changed his identity. radical differences aside, they both understand what it feels like to be told (indirectly or otherwise) that they are inherently wrong and their version of 'sonic-ing' is bad. but where cynic desperately clings onto his identity as sonic with a struggling grip, scourge cast that life aside and became something bigger. that suggestion is so dangerously tempting to cynic as it is painfully relatable, to embrace your worst side because it's 'all you'll ever be.' BUT BESIDES ALL THAT - it ALSO is in a hilarious yet tragic way, a dark spin on cynonic. scourge has all the personality traits of sonic that pull you in, make you wanna like him, which is.. infectious to cynic. they are doomed by the narrative but you still can't help but go 'aww' when scourge gets cynic to laugh or when they riff off each other in their dumb competitive natures.
Surge x Cynic.
THIS ONE CAME COMPLETELY OUT OF LEFT FIELD FOR ME BUT I AM NORMAL. ok, maybe not normal. I haven't caught up on IDW since reading the first issue for imposter syndrome so there's stuff I'm missing here -- but the bottom line is @synnrrgy's surge has wormed her way into cynic's tiny little brain and he is down bad. they somehow bonded through beating the shit out of each other and sharing that same brash attitude, not to mention their mutual dislike for sonic and feeling the inferiority complex. they are the kind of pairing where one part of the ship is always pushing each other's buttons and vice versa but still can bond over doing dumb and reckless shit. what's more, cynic is hopelessly drawn to dysfunction, and still has that deep seeded ache to help people deep down. the situation surge is in with starline aches my HEART because it seriously brings out the desperation cynic has to protect the ppl he cares about, making him pull a complete 180 to the closed off and aloof demeanor he usually has. and the memory loss.. augh. I love me a good angsty antag pair that motivates one part of ship to try to be the 'hero'
Blaze x Cynic.
THIS ONE.. KINDA JUST HAPPENED and it's not exactly the setting you'd expect either. in the TBC au ive mentioned dozens of times on this blog, cynic who is a misunderstood outcast at school develops a crush on @warraigoe 's blaze, and due to tragic circumstances leads to them both being put in a position where they have to sorta set aside any growing feelings so they can prioritize 'leading' the one standing force against CHORUS tech. blaze is both cynic's rock and also someone he trusts to watch his back, but she is also nearing dangerously close to hosting age (essentially when a teenager comes of age and falls victim to the brainwashing hive mind psychic force known as the Song. it's like an invisible illness that comes for almost everyone at some point in this verse) and so cynic is deeply afraid of losing her too. it's another very doomed by the narrative pairing and it's their softer moments with each other that just makes all the upsetting things that end up happening to them hit even harder. in another life they are happier and able to maybe get a chance to actually enjoy each other's time without the threat of inescapable doom bearing down on them...

Lot of interesting character stuff in Ouroboros and Duct Soup although it's difficult to say I like the group dynamic. Not gonna get into the misogynistic writing, we all know women be shopping etc etc, I just want to talk about how Kochanski fits (or how I think she should fit) in with the boys
I think Kochanski and Lister do have some chemistry, like, the moment when he tries to draw her a bath and make her evening nicer was really sweet and completely caught me off guard since in most episodes she's the one taking care of him. I'm not a fan of the way their relationship is handled in Ouroboros so it was nice to get a Lister redemption moment in Duct Soup.
I also liked that Kochanski decided to mess with him by briefly lying about her reality, although I'm conflicted about the actual content of the conversation (idk, not the worst thing in the world, but as a gay person it does feel a bit uncomfortable to joke/lie about alternate Lister's sexuality). But there's potential for mischief here and I think that's really important, given that she's been presented in her debut as a relatively no-nonsense character/straight man to the boys' chaos. This interaction brings her from being a reactionary character to stirring things up herself and I really appreciated that.
I do like the witty insults and some of the interactions wrt Kochanski and Kryten's rivalry, but it feels like a way more annoying/sexist version of the Lister-Rimmer dynamic. Rimmer wouldn't (probably) have seriously sabotaged the ship in order to screw Lister over- not saying he wouldn't think really hard about it, but their relationship has kind of a weird affectionate feel that's just missing from Kryten and Kochanski's. Obviously this is me scrabbling to take off the shipping goggles I've welded to my face but you know. Their antagonizing does have some foundation of friendship, where K&K don't have that at all. It is strangely endearing how much value Kryten places on his relationship to Lister, but it plays as controlling and petty in a way I don't care for.
Interestingly, early on in Ouroboros, Kochanski desperately needs to know why Kryten doesn't like her, and seems distressed that he doesn't. I kind of wonder if they weren't close in her reality, which makes me even sadder that they hate each other here.
Kochanski and the Cat don't seem to interact much at all in these episodes, but I did find it cute that the Cat follows her orders enthusiastically and tries to impress her. Of course this is likely a sexual pursuit based on the way he talks about her to Lister, but I would actually kind of love if she was His Person like an actual cat. I really like when Cat displays feline behaviors so I think it would be sweet if they had that weird unconditional bond, and I think it would be funny to see Lister a little jealous of that and try to win back the Cat (unsuccessfully) with food or other bribes. Just my two cents
Obviously, we almost never get her interacting with Original Rimmer, but it would be an interesting match. She and Rimmer have a lot in common vis-a-vis wanting to put order to the chaos, and they have similar backgrounds, although Kochanski comes off a lot more posh and upper-class than Rimmer ever has. Still, I think they would have some of the same tastes and be able to empathize with one another to some degree. I'm divided, however, on if Kochanski's competence and rank would be a source of jealousy, or if he would be relieved to have her in charge and start kissing up to her the way he does in the brief flashback in Ouroboros. As the show goes on, Rimmer kind of blossoms into this guy who actually halfway knows what he's doing as long as he doesn't pause to doubt himself, so I think Kochanski would recognize that in him and try (and absolutely fail) to nurture that. They're also both characters prone to anger and rage, but where Rimmer's presents as passive aggression, Kochanski is willing and able to be straight-up aggressive, definitely more so than Lister ever was. I don't know, I think the comparisons are interesting.
Okay wow this is a longer post than I thought but hopefully it's a fun read. Worth noting I'm only 5 episodes into series 7/have been skipping around a bit so it's entirely possible that I'm missing things. I just feel like if this is the character development season, it leaves some things to be desired and I really want to fill in those blanks

Honestly I think people either don’t know or have forgotten what a “tumblr sexyman” even is
A tumblr sexyman isn’t just “slightly odd guy the internet finds attractive” , as the most important aspect of a tumblr sexyman is how from an outsider perspective the person thirsting over the tumblr sexyman looks, for lack of a better word, completely and unexplainably unhinged
There are three groups of this
A) human noodle dude with a basic but unpleasant personality (Onceler, Alastor)
B) a non human character with traits often seen as unpleasant or odd, but not inherently a bad person (mega mind, sans undertale)
the third group is a combination of A and B, just look at Bill Cipher and his human fandom design.
To add to the “why are you attracted to this creature” aspect, the tumblr sexyman is often from media for children. That is not inherent to the character, but why live action shows rarely have a tumblr sexyman even if plenty of the same archetype can be found (Loki, Hannibal)
There is also the act of shipping the tumblr sexyman with alternative versions of himself, but honestly that’s a practice I am glad is dying and I don’t blame people for ignoring that element to the tumblr sexyman
Conclusion: make Barbie the official tumblr sexyman
(if this blows up I do art commissions over on @djsherriff )

Post that’s been trying to form in my brain since April, not sure if I’ve got all the words right but I’m gonna go for it anyway:
Starting disclaimer, absolutely we should be telling more historical and historical-adjacent stories about POC in these fraught colonial times bc it wasn’t just All White Europeans All The Time, and their stories were most certainly not weird white guilt fodder about slavery and imperialism. That said, there’s something kinda powerful, I think, in telling a story like Our Flag Means Death about Blackbeard.
Because Blackbeard, to this day, is THE dude. He’s THE pirate. Every single pirate in cartoons and comedy that has the name Something-beard (Stickybeard from KND being the most obvious example I can think of, followed by this absolutely ridiculous Studio C sketch, but I know there’s countless more) is parodying this guy. Blackbeard is a legend. Had a fierce reputation, supposedly set his own beard on fire to scare people, when he died the legend went his headless body jumped off the ship and swam around it three times before he finally quit moving. And piracy, as it is in the show, is a manly-man sort of profession in pop culture. In maybe a roundabout way, it could be said that since swashbuckling stories from the time of Blackbeard’s contemporaries all the way to now, Blackbeard is pretty much the ultimate macho manly man dudebro (for three hundred manly, manly years).
Certainly this is the reputation they bestow on Blackbeard in OFMD. He’s a legend. And it’s established from the first episode that piracy has certain expectations attached to it. And from the get-go, OFMD begins challenging Blackbeard’s historical image AND his real-world legacy and reputation. I mean, for a start, there’s the obvious: he’s played by Taika Waititi, who is not a Christian-raised white British man from Bristol or someone who can pass for that basic image (not how the costume department chose to portray him, anyway, I do recall that Taika has played an imaginary friend version of Hitler before, but the basics are still he ain’t a white Christian dude). And it keeps going, from details as small as wearing a knee brace and a crop top with leather clothing to details as big as Blackbeard falling for Stede Bonnet. There’s power, I think, in taking a household name and using him as a vehicle for a story that challenges pretty much everything that household name stands for, from brutality as a necessary masculine trait to heteronormativity to white domination of the seas.
And I think David Jenkins and his incredible team knew exactly what they were doing when they set out to tell this kind of story. They’ve said it before—historical real-world Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet were a nasty couple of dudes, racist and misogynistic and propagating violence, if not being horrifically violent themselves. So what a statement it is, to take the legacies of these real pieces of work and use them to tell a story that directly opposes exactly what they were all about in the real world, a story that resonates and has emotional depth and complexity. Not undoing or rewriting what the historical figures have done, but showing that life doesn’t have to follow the example they set, that if the legendary Blackbeard can feature in a story where he’s allowed to be softer and more vulnerable and battling how the world doesn’t want that from him but HE wants it from himself—idk man, I just like taking these monuments of toxic masculinity and using them to explore alternatives.
Hopefully this makes any kind of sense, I think I might have lost the plot a bit. TL;DR using toxic masculine icon Blackbeard to dismantle toxic masculinity is cool. It’s like beating a Dragon type Pokémon with another Dragon type but better. Using the same beams that upheld terrible ideology to dismantle said ideology. Happy S2, happy to sail alongside all o’ ye in this fandom, yohoho and a happy Pride to all bc Blackbeard’s gay now.

top 5 pkmn rivals OR top 5 non-pokemon video games :D
starting with rivals...
5) silver
he is so silly his favorite video game is probably unironicly shadow the hedgehog. i think it's sad he has never interacted with red once not even in pokemas which is so weird to me. milesverse silver and red (also leaf/green but she's from an alternate universe so she doesn't count) are brothers (same dad) so uh yeah. more milesverse lore silver basically tried impersonating red during the main story ethan like immediately figures out he's full of shit not only because he looks nothing like him but also silver dropped his trainer id so lmao. the team rocket grunts he fights don't realize though. so uh yeah the meow meow
4) blue
kanto trio sweep. i love blue a lot but like specifically the made up version of him in my head and also anything post gen 1. gen 1 blue by himself isn't like incredible or anything though he is easily the best character in gen 1 by virtue of being the only character with more than four lines. though milesverse gen 1 era blue is my little meow meow i have given him every mental illness
3) cheren and n
i don't know who i like more so i put them together. very swag dudes i like them a lot
2) all of the sv rivals
i love them so much i had to put them all on here but i didn't want to put any of them higher than eachother i love them all equally they are my besties for real
1) wally
walter my little meow meow he was born in a wet cardboard box all alone i will protect him with my life he is my little guy. here's some milesverse lore he's like basically the main character in the gen 3 adaptation though brendan is like thoroughly convinced he is. wally, brendan, and may end up calling themselves team sky when they start going against magma and aqua. wally kinda just blurts it out during the part at the waterfall place and the gang rolls with it. also wally summons rayquaza like how the player does in emerald so uh yeah wally swag moments. he also becomes champion at the end
and now vidya games
5) sonic 3 & knuckles
i love sonic <3
4) sonic adventure 2
i love sonic <3
3) undertale
undertale sweep i love undertale so much. when i was a kid i though aus were so cool i made an au where all the characters were pokemon. i love that game. i actually like deltarune more but it's not done yet so undertale takes its place for now
2) persona 3
it's an incredibly wonderful game about living your life to the fullest even though death is inevitable with characters i adore. it is also a game created by a guy who said that he has never had a friendship with a woman and it shows. never play a persona game worst mistake in my life 0/10 don't recommend. it is also one of my favorite games of all time. special mention to the new content added in persona 5 royal actual peak fiction it is so good and on its own could be my favorite game of all time. too bad it's still persona 5. persona 4 is just bad for the love of god never play persona 4
1) kingdom hearts 2
i am. a big fan of kh. sorry for liking the disney game i can't help it. the kairi in my url is in fact kairi kingdom hearts. i will defend her honor to the end of times no one gets to bully her when im around. i kinda hate the kh fandom though specifically the people who are really invested in the ships there is a lot of misogyny there i fear. back to the game kh2 is fucking amazing it's so fun to play and the ending is so cool and the first four hours is good actually fuck you. hashtag kairi sweep give her a game square enix you cowards

TFA AU:
An Episode where Sentinel and Elita are thrown in a different timeline or something where everything stays the same but they landed on the day where they and Optimus went to Archa 7.
Where Alternate!Optimus still fell in and told the Alternate!Elita and Alternate!Sentinel to leave him behind and get out of here.
Where He desperately tries to fight off the spiders and just as he’s surrounded and one of the spiders was going to bite him and change his frame and make him endure the horrid pain.
‘Original’ Elita and Sentinel protected him.
“I-,” A!Optimus turned to them in shock, surprise but also relief, “I told you guys to leave.”
Sentinel threw his shield at a spider and it frisbee it way back to him, “Well, buddy, we can’t let you have all the fun.” He winked and smiled at him, but for a moment A!Optimus saw something in his optics but couldn’t figure what it was.
“There’s a clearing,” Elita pointed, taking A!Optimus’s servo, tugging him with her, “Let’s go.”
There was a determination in her that A!Optimus never seen before, his Elita was always one with the witty quips, snarky, and spunky and though she very much the same… there was a maturity in her and the same could say about Sentinel.
The trio rushed to the opening, firing one last time and destroying the spiders, they made their escape.
But as they rush down through the cave, it was rumbling and shaking, the whole thing would collapse. A!Optimus looked up and gasped as a giant rumble fell towards them and he shoved Sentinel and Elita away, before the pain of being crushed bellow the legs took him over. “Optimus!” “Frag sake, can’t you be selfish for ONCE.” Elita and Sentinel cried.
“Elita, Sentinel,” A!Optimus struggled but couldn’t free himself, “Go, the entire place would-.”
“Shut it,” Elita hissed as she and Sentinel frantically began to work on freeing him, “We aren’t going to lose you again.”
“But-,” A!Optimus began.
“You heard the lady, shut it,” Sentinel growled, finally they managed to pull him out and he lifted A!Optimus into his arms. “Let’s go!”
Once safe, A!Optimus couldn’t feel his leg and was very roughed up, Elita caressed his helm gently while Sentinel continued to carry him back to the ship. Both knowing their Alternate selves were arguing in the distance and won’t be back for a while. A!Optimus was tired, but he looked at them with tears in his optics and a shaky smile, grateful.
“You guys came back for me.”
Sentinel and Elita looked at each other and laughed, tears pooling down their faces as Elita kissed his helm and Sentinel held him tighter.
“Of course we did. You are our best friend,” Sentinel tells him as Elita nodded her helm, looking at Sentinel then A!Optimus as she caressed his face,
“We would never let anything bad happen to you,” she choked out.
A!Optimus tried to say something but his optics dropped as his friends urged him, “Rest, we will look after you.”
And they did, hiding from afar after laying him in front of the ship entrance where A!Elita and A!Sentinel came staggering after fighting and crying only to freeze at the battered sight of their friend. Their optics grew wide, as if witnessing some sort of miracle and cried out “OPTIMUS” and ran to him. Checking his vitals and carrying him into the ship.
There's certainly confusion as the alternate versions try to figure out what exactly happened, but... They're happy and alive. Everything will be okay.
Meanwhile, there's a bittersweet sort of feeling amongst our original pair. They were able to save this version. Is thus how it could have been for them? Or was it only because they showed up? All the same, they saved one Optimus and it's about time they returned to their's.

Opinion only me and 2(?) other fans hold
I really can't see Light Yagami being into guys(at least by reading the manga). Of course, those readings are perfectly valid(and I even enjoyed some of the meta about it),but I can't see him as anything other than straight or aroace(and this one I'm not even invested in,I just enjoy the idea). Disclaimer:I'm only discussing the manga where he's a protagonist, other sources aren't taken into consideration.
A big part of it is because I don't ship him with any male character(other than being mildly amused by Mikalight),and do ship him with some of the female ones(granted - most of it is in non-Kira AU's). Most of my sexuality headcanons are related to shipping(namely,why I headcanon Madoka from PMMM as a lesbian - I only like her with Homura);
I was a casual Death Note fan during the "imagay" jokes,and it contributed to my exaustion. Besides,most of the gay!Light material is related to Læwl1ght,and I've always liked them better as enemies. Besides,Light had almost always been portrayed in an OOC way,IMO(regardless of sexuality,Light just isn't very focused in romance and doesn't strike me as this repressed blushing mess - he'd realize he's into guys by his mid-to-late teens at most,IMO. He'd stay in the closet for pragmatic reasons and have some conflict,but not beat himself up for his sexuality). Light does indulge in denial a lot,but it seems to be all about how virtuous he's,and that he's nor amoral at all. On the other hand,he rarely judges people for being "weird","out of the norm" or "different". Other than some comment about L's sitting pose,Light doesn't really give a shit about alternative ways of expression - L isn't called an exccentric,he looks down on Misa in 97393747 ways but never commented on her aesthetic and interests,he looked at Near and didn't make any comment on his mannerisms nor on his outfits. Despite being the Perfect Japanese Teen Boy in the 2000's and looking down on people on a regular basis,Light Yagami generally doesn't give a fuck about people being odd around him;
Another reason why I see Light Yagami as a straight guy is more or less some of the above - basically, his character archetype. He's supposed to be very much inside the norm, except better. Light is The Best Student of Japan,he's seen as very handsome, has great social skills... You know the jazz. Being gay would throw a wrench in this image,IMO. Not nearly as much as accidental murder, and as I said before,Light wouldn't have a great deal of suffering due to his sexuality. However, there would still be a conflict, since Light is from a conservative family and wants to have a high-powered career in Japan. Pre-Kira Light didn't seem to have any kind of conflict related to his self or public image, and I can't see the same being true for a gay!Light. In fact,he's virtually unchallenged before the notebook falls. To top it all,Light said he had to keep himself from catching feelings for Misa, because "this is how most idiots screw up"(I found this in Chapter 30).
Tumblr media
(I don't know if the Japanese version says something different, tho)
Of course, those were my 2¢. I just wanted to express my opinion here.

BIOGRAPHY
It all started when a lonely carpenter made himself a son out of wood…
Animated by the enchanted wood he was made from, Pinocchio stayed wood until the day he risked himself to save his father. The Blue Fairy rewarded this act of selflessness by making him a real boy, warning him that the magic would only last if he remained “brave, truthful, and unselfish.” But that would be harder than expected.
When the Evil Queen’s curse came around, Geppetto was tasked with building a magical wardrobe that would send baby Emma to the world with no magic. There was enough magic for two, so the carpenter also sent his son, telling the boy to take care of Emma. This new world was riddled with temptations, and a seven-year-old boy is only capable of so much willpower. He left Emma in foster care, where he thought she might be taken better care of, and went out into this world on his own.
“August”, as he was now called, spent the next 28 years becoming self-sufficient and self taught. He traveled the world, experiencing its many temptations, its many pleasures. He cherished his freedom - perhaps a bit too much. Aside from the occasional shadowing to make sure she was still on the right path, he ultimately failed his promise to watch over Emma until she could break the curse. And he received a painful reminder of that promise the day the saviour found her way to Storybrooke. His magic had worn off, he was slowly turning back into a puppet.
In a world with no magic, wood was just wood. It couldn’t move or talk, it just laid there.
Afraid for his life, and after failing to find some small bit of magic that could save him, August hopped on his motorcycle and made his way to Storybrooke, hoping beyond all hope that breaking the curse would save him. But with his fate resting on Emma’s shoulders, it would be no easy task. ****this version of august does not end up being turned into a little boy again. in the main verse, he gets turned back into august– with some memory loss.

when it comes to shipping I notice with woc it's less common for people to ship them unless they are in an explicitly canon relationship. It's also pushed much harder for them to be single and have fewer close relationships if it looks like canon will he moving towards them having a relationship. After Endgame I saw a few people ready to write Gamora off because she didn't know Peter anymore. I'm not saying anyone has to ship her but it's definitely noticeable how easily some people gave up on her having any potential after vol 3. It's also not escaping my notice that some people, especially on places like Twitter, were quick to want it denied if she would continue to have even the slightest chance of ever being with Peter again or connected to the guardians.
This is why I was/am annoyed with Gunn's real family nonsense. It plays right into people looking for excuses to say Gamora isn't important. He left the movie in a way where possibilities were there for her to be more involved with the guardians and Peter(whether as friends or something more) and then went online to be saying things that don't line up with the movie. Like the Groot interaction. He said himself the audience can understand him because understanding means you're family. There's no way he forgot Gamora could understand at the end. It was a big deal in the movie when she couldn't and the ending created a small arc with her and Groot where she finally could and they both looked happy.
you're def far from the only one who notices that! fandom already tends to kick most female characters in general to the curb in favor of white m/m ships, but at least some white f characters can usually still be part of m/f ships, but then with woc it's just....crickets on all sides lmao 💀 (and moc have it pretty rough too)
ever since that first iw trailer where the gotg ran over thor in space dropped, it feels like some parts of gotg fandom have just become a battle for maintaining gamora's space in the franchise and fan works. it felt like way more white m/m ships ft peter and (insert any white male avenger here) were suddenly popping up—sometimes even straight up IN st*rmora tags lmao—and just a lot of content abt gotg characters in general just stopped featuring gamora as much, compared to characters like peter or rocket. and then us not getting any canon content actually featuring gamora, 2014!version or not, for 4 years, didn't rly help either. (what if barely counts since they cut the episode explaining why she was even in the position to be part of the guardians of the multiverse in the first place 💀💀💀) like, some viewers even misinterpreted the way 2014!gamora just kinda stops appearing on screen in endgame as her like getting snapped with thanos and the black order and co. (which i can't even blame them for, bc she just. does not get shown leaving onscreen? wlknlknsf it was cut, as part of the taking a knee scene) so it's just been a huge mess all around.
the last thing gamora needed was more reasons for ppl to continue leaving her out of the gotg or replacing her in her relationships. like bestie founded the damn team!!!!! if we can bend over backwards in canon to retcon shit or put random male characters in the same spaces how come we couldn't do it for gamora???? it just feels like gamora's been more and more erased on a lot of fronts—fandom, canon, etc—as the years have passed, which is just so frustrating for the first woc lead in the mcu ugh
you know those memes that are like "i've been listening to this super niche underground indie alternative band you guys have probably never heard of them"? well that is how i unironically feel abt gamora now, like actually lol. gamora has legitimately become my super niche underground indie alternative band that apparently no one's heard of.

@bprdmyers, x.
no, no he certainly isn’t fictional. she can see that much as she pauses her steps a few feet away from him, almost tempted to reach out and poke him to prove, if only to herself, that this was actually happening. she doesn’t, but she’s certainly tempted. “this is some dc comics multiverse level crazy.” who would have thought the fact she liked comic books would ever really come in handy? then again, maybe it wasn’t exactly handy as much as it was attempting to supply her with some sort of explanation for how this was possible. either way, there’s a starfleet officer standing in front of her on a day that had no business being as weird as it was.
“it’s called star trek. been on television since.. i think nineteen-sixty.. uh– maybe sixty-six? i can’t remember. then there was movies and more shows and more movies and more shows. it’s kinda the go to in sci-fi. well, that and star wars but that’s a bit more fantasy than star trek’s dream of a better future.”
Tumblr media
“yeah, so way before any vulcans or warp-drives at least.. from what i imagine your perceptive would be. i don’t really know that any of that would exist in the future of.. of this universe? i mean, in theory, if your history was the same as my history or future, you’d know about star trek and well, not exist because you’d be.. fictional.” it was enough to cause a headache to begin to form in her temples but at least she was following a linear train of thought, even if she had comic books to thank for it.
“it’s–” she pauses for a moment, suddenly unsure how much she should reveal. reality was beginning to creep it’s way back in and the bprd wasn’t common knowledge to the general public. but then, who was he going to tell? “uh– think section 31 but like a paranormal version that deals with demons and monsters and those types of threats. actually wait, maybe don’t think section 31, the bprd isn’t ominous. it’s the bureau for paranormal research and defense. it’s a private organization but partners with multiple governments.” maybe it was a little bit like the federation in that respect. “–and lets just say the book was in the possession of one really bad guy who had his sights on dark magic.”
Impossible may not be a word that exists on the flagship, but he can't think of any instance, in his own readings or in studies required by the Academy, that an officer has encountered a situation like this in their service. This in itself is not terribly surprising—the Enterprise is a ship of many firsts in Starfleet—but it would help to have even the smallest shred of previous information to go off of to help him navigate this situation.
Comic books and superheroes aren't an area he can boast an exceptional knowledge of, but he is familiar with the concept of the multiverse, with its infinite potential for alternate realities. Their own reality is living proof of that, born of the unforeseen consequences of Ambassador Spock's actions and that unfortunate disaster that occurred eight years before he was even born.
He listens intently to her explanation of this show, Star Trek, the supposed source of all of her knowledge and insight into him. His surprise and disbelief shows on his face; he can feel it in the downturn of his lips, the further slope of his brows, and it just sounds crazy.
Absolutely insane.
But he can't deny that she knows far too much for someone still living in the twenty-first century.
So for now, with no other information to go off of, he can only accept this as the most logical conclusion and proceed on the basis that the book they were gifted back on Iyati VI has brought him to a universe where the Federation may never even exist and where the starship Enterprise, and by extension himself and his friends, are nothing but stories people tell each other.
Tumblr media
Pavel doesn't entirely know how to feel about this. It all seems—surreal, the knowledge that people he has never met could know so very much about him. Not too much, hopefully. He makes a mental note to see this show for himself at some point before he is sent back off to his own time.
There is one benefit, however, to all this and that is the fact that if she already knows this much—he was not the first to mention Vulcans or warp capability or even the Federation itself—he can be a little more lax in what he says. This technically cannot be a Prime Directive violation if this is information she already knows, even if the source is...well.
"Unless this universe uses our...story—" that does not feel any less weird to say out loud "—as inspiration. Media has always inspired change or been used to challenge the times. It may be the same thing." Some of his favourite ancient Terran poets and writers are proof of that. He shrugs. "But you will show me this series, Star Trek? I want to see it for myself."
Pavel can't help the involuntary shiver that creeps along his spine to think of Section 31 again, not after the incident with Admiral Marcus and Khan and what was easily fifteen Starfleet violations and layers of red and black tape.
"Not ominous, but secret? Close enough." He hums. "So you study the supernatural. This means here, creatures of fairytale exist?" How often do threats of that nature pop up here?
"And you are studying this book of dark magic?" His eyes shift back to the book on the bench, covered by her jacket. "How far into studying it have you gotten? Can they tell me at the bprd how to use it to get back—" he hesitates, only briefly, as if unsure of the word to use "—home?"

I've said it once and I'll say it again:
*Ahem* YOU CAN SHIP LOKIUS AND SYLKI AT THE SAME TIME. WHY DO WE NEED TO COMPETE? BOTH ARE GOOD. I SHIP BOTH. SEEING loki be shy and nervous and vulnerable around sylvie is adorable and I'm here for it. Seeing loki and mobius's dynamic is cool too and I'm here for it as well. BUT WHEN PEOPLE FIGHT OVER WHICH IS "CORRECT" ON HERE ITS REALLY NOT FUN TO GO THROUGH THE SHIPPING TAGS. "Just block anti sylki/ anti lokius tags then" nobody is tagging anything under those. They're just using the normal sylki/ wowki/lokius tags. I've scrolled through about 300+ shipping posts alone and I've got exactly 2 blocked posts under those tags so far in the past 3 weeks. I just wanna see cute shitposts about ships with loki WITHOUT seeing characters/ships being bashed. Guys please it's JUST a tv show.

The Problem with Rise Apriltello
An analysis by Pepperimp01, aka Char, aka me
Well, it’s been a total of about a week since I last pissed off the Rise of the TMNT fandom, so I suppose I better do it again.
I’d like to clarify before I begin that I will not be comparing Rise Apriltello to any past Apriltello versions (mainly 2012), because it seems irrelevant to talk about it. Whatever your opinion on that ship, does not apply here. Good? Good!
Uh, spoilers for Rise btw.
Tumblr media
I’d also like to start by saying I adore Rise April. She is probably my favorite character overall in Rise. I love her personality, her design, her growth, and her character development that ends with her becoming a Hamato. It actually makes me tear up every time she has the final moment with Karai.
My issue with Apriltello has little to do with her, actually. To be honest, the idea of her being childhood friends with the turtles is adorable and makes my heart melt to think about. My problem is actually with Donnie.
(If you're a Rise Donnie stan, I beg you to read the entire thing before you harass me,,,, again)
Tumblr media
Donnie is not a good friend.
When I was first in the fandom, I really loved Rise Donnie and April’s friendship. I thought it was such a nice change of pace from the past TMNT verse to have them just be cool buds instead of awkward love interests. And at first, I was right. Early on, in the episodes War and Pizza and the Purple Jacket respectively, Donnie goes out of his way to help April, even putting himself in danger to do so.
Unfortunately in the latter episode, Donnie also proceeds to blame April for his own mistakes. She did warn him in the beginning about the Purple Dragons, and he ignored her for his own selfish reasons. Donnie, we all know can’t admit when he’s wrong and has an ego larger than his forehead as his only personality trait, so I guess that should be expected.
“April: I warned you about those guys.
Donnie: You said they were full of themselves not that they were criminal masterminds. So in a small sense, this is entirely your fault.”
-The Purple Game
Tumblr media
This example is relatively minor and was a joke so I’m not going to harp too much about it. However, there is one episode that still bugs me and that is Donnie Vs. Witch Town.
My god. Donnie is at his worst in this episode (and that’s saying something considering he's selfish and insufferable for most of the series). All April wanted to do was visit Witch Town and get help on her project. Instead of supporting his supposed best friend, Donnie proceeded to act like a jealous boyfriend and sulk the entire time, even sabotaging everything for her. He mansplained and disrespected the witches, and even got April arrested for something HE did. He was the one who got her banned, it was entirely his fault and you know what? I’d maybe forgive it if he, I dunno, apologized? He apologized to the witches, sure, but he never apologized to April for ruining everything for her.
No, apologizing is too much work for the “precious purple bean”, and he decided it would be a great idea to make it all about him.
“April: Why are you so obsessed with proving me wrong on this?
Donnie: Because, I’m the Science Guy! If mystic powers can do everything I can do but better, then why would you guys even need me?”
- Donnie vs Witch Town.
This is actually a really common manipulative tactic used to make the other person apologize, or alternatively, comfort the abuser. April should not have been the one to comfort him and he should not have gone on his “poor me” tangent. It’s really sad that Donnie actually showed more compassion towards a robot, rather than his best friend. At least with S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N, he apologized. Too bad he can't do the same for April.
Tumblr media
In conclusion? Raph should be April's best friend over Donnie.
I guess all we can hope is that Donnie will be better in the movie. Although if you saw my Andy and Russ callout post, that might not be likely.
