When I set out on this piece, I severely underestimated how long drawing the Loki Persona would take…oh well…the Curse of Stripes I suppose…

AU concept where the shutter in the engine room got stuck midway through closing for a second and that gave enough time for Joker to exchange his place with Crow. Joker ends up trying to fight against the shadows but he's in bad shape because of the fight right before. Meanwhile Crow panics and suddenly realises how much he cares for Joker and starts bossing around the whole team to find a way to get Joker out of there.

The team refuses to heal Crow, he has barely any HP left, yet he's the one destroying all shadows in one sway (he went berserk oooo). He proves to be a really good substitute leader for the time, even if very rude... He actually syncs with the rest of the team very well, everyone is absolutely frightened by the idea of Joker dying on the other side.

If the team asks why he's helping, he lashes out at them, yelling how now's not really the time to talk about it.

When they actually get to the other side of the shutter, Crow fucking DASHES and holds Joker close with such care that it's...such a surprising contrast with the fight they had right before.

He goes even more berserk when more shadows encircles them. I don't think I need to explain why he's mad at said shadows. 😊

Anyways I'll call this AU Engine Swap,might ramble about it more some other time 👍

the two of you met through work

a detective and an attorney working together isn't that unusual and the two of you had already heard about each other before meeting for the first time

your relationship developed rather slowly, with the two of you sometimes crossing paths during work and exchanging a few words

it wasn't until the two of you started working on a case together that you really got close

you often spend your nights together in an office going through files and having to grab a coffee together the next morning to get through the next day

being forced to spend so much time together meant you saw sides of each other that you wouldn't see otherwise

akechi often had watched you fall asleep on your desk at night as he read through some files, while you had seen akechi get frustrated with himself when he hadn't slept in a few days and things wouldn't go his way

when the two of you started dating, problems started to quickly appear

while you didn't plan to make your relationship public, people started to speculate and the few people who caught the two of you together warned you about dating each other

it wouldn't look good in court if the detective was dating the attorney!

people could suspect that you two might not be able to stay objective if you were a couple and it could lose you a handful of cases

your work was important to the two of you, but so was this relationship!

still, work came first, so the two of you had to keep your relationship a secret, that only very few people knew about

surely it couldn't go on like this forever, especially not if the two of you ever planned to get married, but for now this secret relationship had to be enough…
