One thing that playing as a Selunite puts emphasis that I really like is that, after saving Aylin up until her personal quest in act 3, Shadowheart isn't actually ready to commit to serving Selune?

There's some hints of it in any playthrough, but if you play as a Selunite there's a few dialogue options where you can talk about her becoming closer to the Moonmaiden and she'll just be kinda like "after all I just went through with my goddess I'm a little hesitant to jump right to another one"

It's good because she *should* get that mourning period before deciding to serve another higher power(or if she even wants to serve one at all but Shadowheart's faith is important to her at the end of the day), but also because it makes clear that Selune is granting her her divine powers even without receiving worship in return

The story of Chang'e, the Chinese moon goddess, has been stalking me lately and every time it finds me again I think to myself: Glimbow AU? Because, you know, immortal moon goddess, plus her love, Hou Yi, was a legendary mortal archer so it's tempting.

But then I remember that every version of the myth involves the mortal she loves dying and them being parted forever as she ends up trapped alone on the moon, missing him for all eternity, and I decide, no, we're not doing that.

The Ocean and The Sky

The Ocean could feel the eclipse slowly change her tides. One look at the sky and she could see her beautiful Moon finally getting to meet his Sun.

It was dark outside, but in that darkness she could see the stars and the universe painted across the atmosphere as the Sun and Moon fell into their embrace.

The Sky was beautiful, the Universe was beautiful. She too was looking at her Sun and the Moon meeting. Such a delicate and intimate moment.

The Ocean turned to the Sky, they smiled at one another. Two beautiful beings, sparkling in the darkness of the eclipse. They may never get to meet, miles apart unable to reach one another. Sorrowfully, they watch as the Moon and the Sun finish their embrace, saying their goodbyes until the next eclipse.

The Moon returns to the Ocean, the Sun stays with the Sky.

The Ocean looks up, the stars start disappearing and the planets fall away from view. With a wave she says goodbye. Maybe one day she’ll get to meet the Sky.
