#she never killed the puppet in her collection herself

Did you ever go after a version of one of your siblings?
"My siblings... I lost them the day I lost my world... I've met plenty of versions of them since then. I don't really like having to kill some during missions, so Crou is generally the one to do it, while I take care of the ones he doesn't want to kill. We're a great team !"
"So, no, I don't 'go after" any of my siblings. But I have some of them in my collection... Versions that are my new family. I won't lose them again"

Danny Phantom Writing Prompt:
When she comes to, a silver haired man with a matching goatee greets her. Kind of. He’s disappointed.
She’s surrounded in neon green and she is so, so, so confused.
——
Her name is-
Well. It was something else.
What matters is that Vlad doesn’t call her by anything other than “Danielle” and “you.”
She thinks if she wasn’t who she is- if Vlad hadn’t ripped her out of her own life, poured her tattered soul into this imperfect body- she’d believe the father like figure he’s poorly pretending to be. But she knows. This is a show she’s watched many times. Vlad, even if she hadn’t had years of actual life and the foreknowledge of Danny Phantom, she’d eventually clock him as a villain.
“You can do it, Danielle.” He says.
“Obey, or suffer the consequences,” she hears. She knows manipulation when she hears it. Vlad thinks it’ll work. After all, little pod baby Danielle would know no different than the confining walls of her room. But she does know, and the voices of her loved ones bolster her in this delicate balancing act.
So, she pretends to let him mold her. Let him shape little Danielle into a puppet he could pilot as he wishes.
To act like her body’s template, but to be obedient in ways Danny would never allow himself to be. To turn trusting blue eyes up towards the drawling billionaire and pretend to take his word as gospel.
In return, he gives her more freedom. He thinks it’s control, that she returns even when he gives her ample chances to leave. She knows it’s a test, and she’s always been good at those.
She collects evidence, slowly. Because Vlad might have overshadowed people and signed their companies over to him, but he was sloppy. He was sloppy and she was a paralegal.
——
Vlad gives her the mission she’s been waiting for. She goes to Danny with a neutral mask and acts like a person who knows nothing of normal social cues.
It’s what Vlad expects of her.
The time is not yet right.
——
So when the time comes, Danielle makes a decision. She was never the baby Dani. She will never be. When she punches Vlad, she tears into him with everything she has. She makes him bleed and she breaks him and she slaps the anti-ghost belt on him to lock his ability. And she breaks more, just to make sure he might not heal all the way, all the while Danny watches in horror.
And then she starts the process of legally beating him up. Danielle bankrupts Vlad in two months with legal fees, and she takes vicious pleasure in rendering him destitute.
Hah. Try creating clones of your one sided love now, you creepy motherfucker.
——
She’s melting. She makes a joke, because Danny looked terrified and she got attached. Well, it’s hard not to get attached, considering he risked his neck for her even after learning she was there to…
Well.
He saves her. She knew he would.
She’s whole again. Stable. But something in her breaks, because she knows, with a sense of unfathomable knowledge, that she will never rid herself of the name Danielle again. She’s bound to this world. The price for her life was an eternity of imprisonment in a realm where she will never see the people she loves again.
——
“I’m not… I wasn’t always Danielle.” She admits to Danny, Tucker, and Sam.
“What does that even mean?”
She sighed, leaning against the window sill.
“The reason I was stable and my… siblings weren’t was because Vlad ripped my soul out from my body and shoved it into the body of a clone. He killed me.”
Danny stuttered to a close. Grief. She smiles at him.
“Technically, I’m older than you and Jazz.”
“I’m sorry,” Sam says, head buried in her hands. Tucker just stares at her.
“Yeah. Me too. But you shouldn’t blame yourself, Danny.” Danielle knows that look on his face. “I hate him, yeah. But… I can’t change it now. So, I’ll see what this world has to offer.”
“I’m sorry,” Danny says to her.
“I get it.”
And she does. Because Danielle knows what it is to die, now. So does he.
So she flips off the window sill, enjoying her always novel powers of flight, and laughs.
“I’ll be Nellie. You can call me Nellie.”

Could it be possible to request doflamingo reaction to him finding out through his spies or Ceasar that he has a daughter ? I think it's a 50/50 with him like I can totally see him going out to bring her to him. The 50/50 comes to the way he'd treat her. She is a Donquixote after all. Idk with how things ended with Cora if he would be gentle with her. Or just end up trying to using her in some scheme? If you don't have any ideas for how the story should go? Maybe Law and the strawhats learn about her? Maybe she's scared of the family and outsiders and they try and help her?

Broken Bonds (Doflamingo x f!teen!reader)
A/N so I got these request, and I kinda merged them together to make this piece, Doflamingo is problabky Ooc here simply because that ass wouldn’t be soft but we have the power to change that ✊🏽Maybe a cook?? Maybe, maybe a sizzle.
Reader here is replaced by the placeholder, Dokusha which means reader in japanese

“Let go of me, idiot,” she growled, sending a swift kick to the guard that was currently holding her down
Dokucha had chosen to take on a mission on Dressrosa despite Sabo’s and Koala’s concerns. In the end, they understood that this was something she needed to do. And so she set off to begin gathering information on the Kingdom. However, the mission quickly turned wrong as she was caught trying to sneak into the castle. Now, she found herself being brought to the very man she was supposed to collect information on
Doflamingo sighs, swiftly wrapping strings around the teen to prevent her from further attacking his guards
“Leave,” he ordered, glaring at the guards, who nodded and made a quick exit from the throne room
She refused to look at him, instead focusing her attention on the strings wrapped around her limbs, glaring at them and tentatively pulling at them
“You’ve grown.”
“I'm surprised you recognize me,” she quips back, giving up on messing with the strings and turning to glare at him
“Of course, I still remember the little girl who was stolen from me.” Doflamingo’s lips slightly curved upwards
“I would hardly call it stolen; Uncle Corazon saved me that day, saved me from you.”
“From me?” He said in a soft tone and smirked
“I’ve never harmed you.”
“Who knows what would have happened if I stayed? Maybe I would have become another puppet of yours, or maybe you would have killed me like you did Uncle Cora.”
“I wouldn’t have harmed you; after all, you were still my kin.”
“He was also your kin, your own brother!” she growls at him, a frown growing on her face
“He was a weak-willed, useless fool,” Doflamingo said, showing no hesitation in belittling his dead brother
“Besides, he was the one who went against me; all I did was take care of my problem.”
“Shut up, you don’t get to slander his name!”
“you never met him; you were a baby, so how would you know anything about him?”
“Law told me about him; he never forgot about him, and he told me all about him and you.”
Doflamingo frowned,
“So that boy brainwashed you, didn’t he?”
“You were the one who brainwashed him, and it would have worked if Corazon had not saved him back then.”
“Law was weak, and he paid for it,” Doflamingo said carelessly before standing up and walking toward her
“Law is not weak; he is one of the strongest men I know, something you will never be; he raised me; I got to be a strong independent woman; I got to join the Revolutionary Army to take down assholes like you.”
“You’re still a child who has no understanding of how the world around you works,” he said, getting closer to her
“And you’re still a tyrant who thinks the world revolves around you.”
“Do you really think you’re free? The only reason you aren’t in my dungeons is because you are my daughter, the one that was taken away from me.”
“Oh, how kind of you,” she sneers, sarcasm dripping from her words
“Come back home; there is a throne waiting for you,” he said, placing his hand on her cheek, cradling her face
“What? What are you on about?”
“You would be the princess of the Dressrosa kingdom; what’s so bad about coming back?”
“Like I would come home to a murderer like you,” she said, pulling her head away
“But I’ve never hurt you; I’ve never laid a finger on you,” he said, his voice soft and sincere
“You killed him,” she cried
“You expect me to come home after what you did to him? After what you did to Law?”
“That was a punishment, one he got for betraying me; he knew the consequences of his actions,” Doflamingo said, ignoring her mention of Corazon
“How could you say something like that?”
“Because it’s the truth,” he said, “he knew what would happen if he betrayed me.”
“I loved him, but all he did was betray me, and he got what he deserved.”
“He didn’t deserve to die! You made his life hell from the moment he was small, so how could he not try to bring you down?!”
Doflamingo chuckled,
“I just did what I had to do; I never mistreated him; in fact, he was the closest person to me until he turned on me.”
“Are you going to say the same about Law?”
“Yes,” he said, his tone remained the same and calm
She shakes her head, tears sprouting in her eyes. How could someone think that way of their own family, of a child? As she grew older, Law began to disclose more and more of what had occurred between the three of them, and every time, she grew more saddened as to the harsh life both Law and Corazon had to endure due to Doflamingo
“They were right,” she cries
“I was hoping, wishing that maybe, just maybe, you had changed, but you are just as they described a monster.”
Doflamingo stayed silent, his face a blank canvas with no expression to decipher
His hand returned to her cheek as he listened to her, beginning to move his thumb across it, caressing it and wiping her tears off her face
He sighs, removing the strings keeping her in place
“Come home,” he said, his voice softened, looking at her with soft eyes
She shakes her head, pulling his hand away from her
“This is not home.”
He sighs again, allowing her to step back from him
“It seems no matter what I say, you will not listen to me, not in this state. Go to your room, rest, and we will discuss this tomorrow.”
“My room?” She seethes
“There is no room for me here; I do not live here, nor will I; if you think I'm just going to stay and play at home with you are wrong.”
He lets out a hum at that, a smirk growing on his face
“Perhaps not, but at the end of the day, you are still a prisoner here, so you don’t get a say on what I tell you to do.”
She opens her mouth to protest once again, but is stopped as one of the maids of the castle gently takes her hand.
“Bring her to her room for the night; I’ll send for her tomorrow,” Doflamingo commanded the maid
Despite how disgusted she felt at having to sleep under the man's roof, to accept anything he was giving her, she would need the strength if she wanted to fight down. As she was, she was simply no match for him, so she really didn’t have any other options
She glares at him, allowing the maid to pull her away
“This is not over.”
He chuckled at that, his smile a sharp one compared to the softness he had presented earlier
“I never said it was,” he said before waving her farewell as she was removed from the throne room
Tumblr media
Okay let’s ignore the fact that Koala and Sabo, nor anyone in the revolutionary army would ever let a teen just wander off in a mission to spy such a dangerous person alone, and let’s also ignore the fact also wouldn’t just let a teen leave alone to join the revolutionaries until they were grown up 👍🏼 Gotta make the story happen ya’ll

The Collector Isn't a Baby. He's a Monster.
In terms of villains for TOH, The Collector dehumanizes and takes away more agency from more people, and instills more widespread, constant fear in the populace, than Belos EVER did. Heck, probably soft killed WAY more people too with his puppets too if not for the fact that Belos has been doing it longer. This is just a fact of the character.
And this isn't "Oh, that was while he was with the archivists." No. It's not. It's in For the Future. Really bluntly too for that matter. He has literal, unmanned drones hunting for people to turn into puppets for his own amusement. It's the only way that Hexside doesn't come across as brain dead is that some of the kids saw what the stars did, people tried to defend the school when they showed up and then the stars did what they do: Turn people into puppet and abduct them.
And then, MONTHS later, they are STILL doing that. As far as that implies, the Collector genuinely won't be done with soft killing people until he has EVERYONE on the Isles. Which then makes who he lets live make no sense, especially since the stars turn people into puppets the second aggression is shown. Why/how did Terra, who has no filter, ever, survive for so long? Because it was up to the Collector? Because he apparently doesn't have actually enough control over the puppets to make them pretend to be Eda well enough? That's still dehumanizing her as her and Odalia are only allowed to be people because they satisfy his desires better that way.
Meanwhile, Hexside has guard shifts. That implies that they think the Collector will actually attack them and has potentially done so in the past. That they need to fend off assault. We have no idea who the Collector's minions are because we never see them but this is still a group of KIDS, terrified for their life and having to literally work around the clock for survival.
None of which, Belos caused, either through the Collector or before. The VAST majority of people on the Isles were genuinely happier with Belos. Hell, Belos never targeted kids. You could be under his regime and in school and you did not require a coven sigil. The fucker didn't even have a plan for them as during the Day of Unity, he was preparing to leave without even checking his work. Worse yet is that a wild witch of at least close to Eda's same age faced no consequences when she finally turned herself in and took the sigil. That's the extent of how non-existent Belos' fear and dehumanization was. It's effectively a volunteer system so long as you aren't loud about how you break the law.
And yes, you can claim parallels to LGBTQIA+ people, especially in places where being gay is illegal and punishable by death but... Then the Collector just tries to wipe them all out. The only people he seems to have no interest in collecting are... Eda. He might spare Lilith again but I'm pretty sure she gets turned into a puppet again as well so it's literally just Eda and only because Eda matters THAT MUCH to King.
Which cute... But it doesn't excuse him. Doesn't excuse that he explicitly knew that Belos' plan would kill people and knew that for CENTURIES. He was excited to play amongst the BONES after all. Hard to deny you know what death is with a statement like that. Especially because Belos wouldn't have sugarcoated it. Their deal would have been to give him a way to murder all the witches and power in return for the Collector's freedom.
In order for the finale to work AT ALL, you have to ignore ALL of this. How the Collector was 100% evil. He might have been scared of being alone and what not but he still did AWFUL things without any prompting. Without any encouragement. Without anything to justify it or even explain why he did all of this besides finding trying to work with people annoying and frustrating. So why not turn them into dolls? Easier for him and more fun too.
The Collector is not an infant. He is not a child. He has lived for THOUSANDS of years. He has killed people. He cares not for the sanctity of life. He never recalled his stars because he doesn't even consider what his actions are doing because he would have to give a single fuck about someone other than himself. He only cares about King because King makes him feel better and even King is TERRIFIED.
But sure: Celebrate when the abuser and killer is redeemed and is best buddies with the person he forced to be his friend for literal months. Who had to sit in fear of saying the wrong thing, something not even Hunter feared with Belos. It's literally the first thing Hunter does the first time the two talk while King is constantly terrified anytime he has to ask for even the slightest concession.
And then he's used to criticize how SU redeemed tyrants and killers, thousands of years old, with just a speech about friendship. I'm sorry, I don't feel like that quite holds water, do you?
======+++++======
Anyone who wants to debate on me saying The Collector soft kills people, really think about what being a puppet means. You have no autonomy. You can do nothing. You are literally trapped in a body with your consciousness apparently intact but unable to stop anything that is done to you with no reason to believe you'll ever be freed. Frankly, that to me seems like a fate worse than death.

I'm just thinking about your points about Penny and dehumanization and the heroes essentially taking decisions away from Penny while trying to protect her. Penny and Winter don't interact until Penny passes the Maiden powers to Winter in Volume 8. But in 7 - the last time they see each other - Winter buys time for Penny to make her decision with Fria. Which I think puts a neat layer into Penny ultimately saving Winter in the Winter versus Ironwood fight.
You can read Penny being puppeteered as a continuation of the dehumanization and how Atlas treats individuals. And she never really has a chance to fight that personally. The whole Cinder blowing up the evac plan happens first. But Peny being the tipping point with Winter versus Ironwood, especially in the reading that they were both baring the weight together... The thing is it is very very hard to get out of bad situations solo. And Penny did get someone out. I hope this makes sense
what always gets to me is. winter panics when penny rescues her ("what are you doing?! my life doesn't matter!") because it puts fria and the staff in jeopardy. and then not five minutes later she makes what is clearly a conscious, deliberate choice to step back and let fria choose penny as her heir, throwing herself in between them and cinder with her aura still depleted, against ironwood's orders. it's such an important moment bc it reveals that winter absolutely meant what she told penny earlier about wrestling with her feelings because she values her humanity—winter is not mindlessly following orders or blindly self-sacrificial, but she is willing to die for what she believes is right.
(winter is also the reason we know fria's name, because she makes a point of saying fria instead of calling her the winter maiden. which is the moment her break from ironwood becomes narratively inevitable, that rejection of fria's dehumanization)
i think the way penny frames the situation to jaune is really revealing of her perspective on… everything that's happened to her since she became the maiden. in her eyes it snatched away what little autonomy she had; ironwood and the ace-ops pulled out all the stops to manipulate and then outright control her, and all of her friends collectively decided that the maiden power was too valuable and too vulnerable for penny to do anything except go hide somewhere they hoped salem couldn't follow. everyone puts so much emphasis and importance on the magic that when penny is being eaten alive by watts' virus she considers the situation in terms of "i can make sure the powers go to [ruby]."
so when cinder fatally wounds her--and penny recognizes that there isn't enough time to heal her (& there isn't, he had less than sixty seconds before cinder had weiss disarmed on the ground)… "let me choose this one thing."
it's weiss, or winter, or cinder. if jaune hesitates or ignores what penny tells him, cinder kills weiss and then him and then claims the power for herself; if he mercy-kills penny now, penny can make sure the power goes to weiss so that weiss can get herself and jaune out alive…
…or she can give it to winter, her best friend. who for all she knows is already in vacuo right now, as penny has no way of knowing that ironwood is free or that winter is in danger.
in many ways, winter is the wrong choice in that moment; weiss and jaune are in danger, cinder has both relics, and without the magic weiss doesn't stand a chance. winter is not here, and penny has no idea where she is--or even if she's still alive!--so the pragmatic choice, the "correct" decision, the thing she "needed" to do, was make sure the magic went to weiss.
penny's whole arc in atlas is about the unreconcilable conflict between what she needs to do and what she wants to do, and in the end--forced by horrible circumstances to make a binary choice--she chooses to do what she wants. to follow her heart. to think of her friend. to take a small moment of peace and happiness for herself by saying goodbye to someone she loves very dearly.
and that's the moment of triumph over ironwood, who saw his own humanity as his greatest weakness!! penny choosing to do something for herself, because it's what she wants. in coldly rational terms it was the wrong choice, but thematically it was the right thing for penny to do--the human thing--so it saves not only winter but also weiss and jaune, too (although both of them do fall, because penny took a risk and a central theme of V8 is that risks don't always turn out for the best).
it's such a well-constructed tragedy. and it's thematically so important that penny choosing her friend over her 'duty' is the only reason winter survives, bc that final battle between ironwood and winter symbolizes the ideological conflict of the atlas arc--is human feeling strength, or is it weakness? has he made hard but necessary choices or has he sacrificed everyone and everything that truly mattered?--so of course penny's humanity is his undoing.

3 and 15.... I come to you with knees bent and face turned up to kiss your palms as if in prayer asking for 3 and 15 on the ask meme.....
honestly this ask scared me because i was literally writing a piece of PMPE where it is discussed how the plague in dankovsky's ears sound like psalms and prayers are you in my walls...? oh well that's topical. LET'S GO
3. any ideas for how that experiment where daniil resurrected a woman went down?
love this question love it love it ok so the collective-imaginative vision of the anatomist resurrecting the dead before a crowd is very Victorian, it's very 19th century, at a time where mediums and other spiritualists were a more and more common sight; it's Gothic, it's Frankensteinesque. now, while patho's time period is purposefully ambiguous, many consider it 1910s-ish, with p2 being a little later (possibly closer to 1930s from what we've seen of the bachelor's route behind-the-scenes), so by this time, this type of thing would have been quite passé, and for Dankovsky especially, who's a man of the future, and not of the past, at least as far as medicine goes. the only account of him resurrecting a woman is from Lilich, and in the text it is also mentioned she didn't introduce herself by this name. the canon explanation for this is that puppet-players are not remembering their past games right, and are not weaving a coherent story; but i see this as... dankovsky would not do this kind of thing publicly - again, too Victorian, and with everything that entails; the pompousness, the stuck-upness,, the religiosity, the good mores; he is not of that kind. he would do this privately, he has. privately, perhaps surrounded by his peers at Thanatica, and as such, he remembers there being a woman - not Lilich, not even Karstlich (how she says she introduced herself as then), but his memory faltering¹ he thinks he remembers it. same for Lilich, in her own right: she attended one of his lectures. it did not contain reanimation, it contained something else; but his reputation, preceding and running after him like a bloodhound, has shaped her remembering of it. he has never resurrected a woman, privately or publicly - how so? how come? because he has never defeated death. we begin the game with him desperately trying, because he has always failed before.
¹ this is not faltering. i see it more as closer to greek myths: a single myth will be different from era to era, from storyteller to storyteller, from island to island. they are all true. this is not faltering, this is a truth polymorphic.
15. pick a barnett newman painting for each of them
my favorite question. let's get on with it.
Tumblr media
this is Andrey. do you see the un-inked strip? and do you see how the ink seems to bubble up all around it, like festering around a wound, like matter accumulating by the Lack, bubbling up like anger, boiling? this un-inked stripped is what he sees as his Lack. he is the one constantly bringing up peter as his soulmate, them being two sides of a same coin, he is the one who declares the threefold bullet line. he is the one who acts in lack, in order to fill the lack. kill to keep peter close. go forward to bring dankovsky closer. kill a man because you couldn't keep him. matter, his own, and other's, accumulate by the Lack. dead fish where the water has drained.
Tumblr media
this is Peter. the twotone is because i think he's bipolar (true fact). it is also because the pitch-black rectangle, the monolith, is the shape of farkhad's grave - it is farkhad's grave. (it is farkhad.) he is the guilt-bearer, he is eaten. half of him eaten by guilt, like taking of his bed. this half would be where he has space for andrey, for dankovsky, for himself expanded, but the murder put in its place the casket. he and andrey have been drifting apart since the murder, peter says of it he has been "hurting for 10 years" because of it, because of andrey's act of it. see how the black monolith encroaches into the lighter ink's space, but the reverse isn't true, because the black of the monolith is so absolute? this is happening to him.
Tumblr media
this is Dankovsky. his shape is different from the others, because he is different from the others. he does not quite fit in with the twins. he is in the middle: he is cleaved. he is cleaved because he lacks: his life work has been destroyed, and he is slowly realizing everything is slipping out of his grasp. he is cleaved in two, there is a hollow for a third thing, a third part, a third piece. andrey calls it: molded me, my brother, and you into a single person… The fire of war has molded us into a threefold bullet. dankovsky is cleaved piece into which the already-molded peter and andrey could fit. if they were molded. and andrey, paining peter for years, has quite kept them from being so. dankovsky will keep this cleave, his hollow: he says "keep your dumb head cool", he reins back in. the hollow is fit for grief. at his sides, shadows approach and stand, but do not encroach. still, they threaten. one is bigger, one is seeping out. one grows and swells like an oil spill. (a monolith, baring hazier parts, in the fog of unknownness)
Tumblr media
this is farkhad. come then forth thee monolithe... stands tall, pitch-black, front and center, middle. not unlike his grave. on his sides, matter frames him, maybe follows, or threatens him. matter boils, bubbles, or streaks. matter reacts to him, or around him -> the twins. the single white line, maybe the breaking of the bond, or the knife strike. see there, to the right, three lines? they are brackets: } . they are bringing-together brackets. he is the bringer-together... for the better and worse.
this was so fun :3 thank you... [ask me a little something something?]

Hezu, do you think it's possible to actually redeem the diamonds in Steven universe?
How would you do it?
Or would you not redeem them at all?
Oh well See, when I was watching the series, they made it clear that Blue and Yellow were going to be redeemed pretty early on.
They did a ton of bad stuff and thought in a poor way, but it was all blamed on White Diamond. Yellow and Blue were afraid of her for a reason. Yellow said everything she's done (destroy planets and kill biologics) is because White Diamond asked it of her. But Yellow was never good enough or praised for it. It was just expected, and if she fell out of line, she could be punished. Blue says they used to be close, at least, that's what she thought until she realized Pink Diamond was trying to make them better. Make them happier. She admits they aren't a happy family, maybe they never were. Blue confesses she's miserable, and she doesn't want to enforce White's rules anymore. When Stevonnie fuses in front of the Gala, it's clear that White Diamond is the most upset by this. Blue and Yellow whisper yell at them, in shock at the "inappropriate fusion". But it's clear that White Diamond is the one who enforced all this. She's the one who is constantly talking about "perfection" and "off-color". If you aren't pure white, a collection of every color, then you have a flaw. If you have to fuse, you are flawed and trying to be bigger and better by collecting other gems or colors. If your body is flawed, you must have limb enhancers to meet our standards. It's all White Diamond. Blue and Yellow were so adamant, everything was being pushed on White Diamond. She was the Queen enforcer. AND, if the other Diamonds didn't do what she said, SHE COULD LITERALLY STEAL THEIR FREE WILL FROM THEM AND CONTROL THEM LIKE PUPPETS.
White Diamond, is so genuinely fucked up on so many levels. She's also the one who manipulated Steven's mind, she hurt Pink Diamond and the others immensely, and she also almost killed Steven. Everything bad in Gem society was pushed to be HER fault. She started all of this, even if she herself maybe didn't actively participate. She's the catalyst.
And she gets redeemed because Steven told a joke (that actually, White Diamond shouldn't understand. There is no concept of children in gem society. They burst out of the ground, and that is how they are, they already know what they're supposed to be and do, and they will be like that forever. Calling Steven a "child" doesn't seem like something any gem should ever say except for those who stayed on Earth. White Diamond maybe looked at his memories, but even so, that shouldn't have been the first thing to come to her mind.)
The fact that she thinks she is "flawed" when she turns pink is also strange. Pink is not an official color of light. White says "Pink is a part of me that I must repress" already??? Kind of admitting?? Pink is like/// part of her??? And a flaw?? Her entire wording is really confusing and I don't understand what Rebecca was trying to make her say here. We never really established color importance in gem society until White Diamond. And if you don't understand the current science of it, you'll be pretty lost, and even then, I still don't understand what the hell White Diamond's reasoning is. Shouldn't we have a color-inferior class in society then? If she thinks White Gems are superior for absorbing all colors? Does that mean multi-colored gems are the lowest for being unable to absorb any of the colors? It doesn't make sense to me. You cannot turn back thousands of years of abuse, fusionphobia, colorism(???), mass genocide, and societal oppression with a joke. You can't do that. White Diamond just changes herself at the flip of a coin. She BLUSHES and goes through an existential crisis. And somehow, instead of getting defensive and doubling down like a proper narcissistic person would, she miraculously changes.
But actually, she doesn't. She still thinks biologics are disgusting. She's still awkward around fusions. She still thinks Steven belongs with her despite what she did to him. She thinks she can redeem herself by making people control her instead (and she is big, and beautiful, and perfect, and powerful, so she's just helping people be HER for a day so they can feel CONFIDENT .... wtf is this. Yellow Diamond is slaving away, physically piecing the shattered remains of gems back together to reverse her fucked up experiments one by one. Blue Diamond is offering therapy to those she has mentally affected in the past. White Diamond saying "here, control ME" is like... I don't see how this is supposed to help someone. Especially when we see Steven. Controlling someone who abused you in the past isn't healthy. That's just leaving them open to abuse your abuser. )
Sorry I rambled but long story short
Yellow and Blue's redemption is believable.
White's is not. White Diamond should have either gone insane and been locked up or bubbled away. This show has redeemed everyone, but not everyone WANTS to be redeemed. White has burned every bridge, and I don't think it's fair to rebuild them when she has not truly changed. She hasn't earned a redemption because she doesn't feel like she's actually changed or even really wants to. Steven Universe has erased every consequence to every action. Every single thing is fixable, (except Pink Diamond's death, which, by their logic is ironically ALSO VERY FIXABLE, but they pretend its not. They wanna have their cake and eat it too I guess)
But if you remove consequences and damage to people, you would just have chaos. No one can die. Any quarrels are temporary in the wake of immortals.
White Diamond should not have been redeemed.

watching their s/o get possessed hcs ; poly!sashannarcy
Tumblr media
requested by ; anonymous (17/06/23)
fandom(s) ; amphibia
fandom masterlist(s) ; here
character(s) ; anne boonchuy, marcy wu, sasha
outline ; “HIHI I SAW THAT YOUR REQUESTS ARE OPEN AGAIN
May I request an amphibia one shot/headcannons of Sashannarcy x fem! reader where reader gets possessed by the core instead of Marcy?
I’m not sure if this counts as UCS but I guess I can label it as such! <333
Anyways, don’t forget to eat and drink water! I hope people aren’t stressing you out with all the requests, have a lovely day/night! <333 :}”
warning(s) ; angst, mind control
this wasn’t meant to happen
this really wasn’t meant to happen
it shouldn’t be happening
but it was
if your death was the worst moment in their lives then what had followed was hell on earth — worse than, even
your mind erased and caught up in a hostile takeover, your body broken and soaked and commodified into a makeshift suit for an entity beyond human comprehension
a vessel
a toy
a shell
a suit
it was something out of a horror movie, but this time they couldn’t see a way out — couldn’t pause and walk away, couldn’t look up any conclusion, couldn’t pray for a sequel to give them closure
they were trapped, flies in a web watching this amalgamation of self importance and selfishness puppeteer your body without care or consideration
watching your limbs and joints contort further than is possible, watching your head loll lifelessly atop your neck, watch your abdomen fold in on itself
like you didn’t even have bones in the first place
unnatural
wrong
god they felt sick just looking at you — it… whatever you’ve been turned into
they blame themselves
marcy takes it the worst — she was the one who brought you all to amphibia, she was the one who trusted andrias and she was the one who was meant to be possessed
you were only like this — only being puppeted by an unseen ‘god’ — because you saved her life
sasha hates herself because your last interaction, last proper conversation before everything fell apart, was an argument — she’d told you that she hated you (she didn’t, couldn’t) and then you were gone and she fled like a coward
you were only in this position because she couldn’t put her ego aside and tell you what was actually happening
anne falls into a depressive spiral when she’s thrust back to earth — replaying the moment you were stabbed hundreds of times over, the image of your wide eyes and the blood dripping out of your chest and mouth printed onto the insides of her eyelids
you were only this way because she failed you
to anne; she wasn’t strong enough
to sasha; she wasn’t honest enough
to marcy; she wasn’t aware enough
they all failed you, they had just a much a role in this as andrias and his masters — at least in their minds
all were culpable
all of their hands stained with your blood, a red that will never wash out
but even now as they stare at you — it, them, whatever — after thinking, no knowing, that you were dead and gone, even now as your voice and body are used to goad and mock and attack and torment them they still can’t bring themselves to hurt you
can’t breathe
can’t dodge
can’t fight
they just stare and weep and sob and it’s ugly and messy and sad and desperate
but what else could they have done — except for everything they didn’t do
this was their penance, frozen in place as this spectre of their collective failure — this twisted amalgam of memory and mockery of their loved one — gives the order to have their friends killed and their home invaded
surrounded by gore that stains and drips and clings to their skin even through their armour and that they feel crawling beneath their skin — nagging, niggling guilt and fear
but they can’t hide forever, they know that well enough, and after taking their time well they start to fight again
tearing down machines and loyalists
ripping apart metal and smashing circuits to a fine powder
self pity and grief morphing into anger and vengeance as they launch at the cables linking you — whatever remains of you, at least — with your captor
a barrage of green, red and blue the last thing the not-you sees before everything goes black and the connection cuts out

MERA MERA HI I WANNA SHARE THIS BRAINROT I HAD
So basically its Scaramouche and Kitsune Darling and so okay Darling was never supposed to interact with the puppet. It was something Yae told her not to do but she cant help but be curious! And its asleep anyways so its not like... its not like coming over to look at it would be bad! And the Raiden Shogun didnt give a damn when she asked if she could go look at the puppet so she just. Went. Traveled all the way over and stared at the pretty doll and enraptured by his beauty. She would collect pretty clothes and knicknacks and gift it to the doll and sing songs and recite poetry and rant about her day near it. It was pretty relaxing. Also, even tho Kuni was asleep he could hear her and became enchanted with the songs she sangs and eventually he somehow gained the willpower to forcibly awaken. Darling is ofc shaken bc uh oh but Kuni manages to comfort her that its fine so long as she doesnt tell anyone since he's just interested in listening to ehr songs and stories. They spend a lot of time together that way. They later also gain a wandering samurai for a friend, and theyre quite the happy little trio. Kuni ofc wants to travel but he knows hes not supposed to even exist, much less be awake, as he is the Failed Puppet (he has vague memories of Ei or smth) but the wanderlust is strong. He gets the samurai and Darling to agree to take him out for at least short walks so he can see the world. He practically falls in love and the duo are happy to teach their homebound friend all they know!
Unfortunately, they begin to drift apart as Darling has to refocus her time and energy to her duties as a Kitsune Shrine Maiden and the samurai seeks the world outside more. Kuni takes to wandering out on his own and he meets awful people who negatively influence him. When his samurai friend is killed, he's devastated. Then he's enraged when Darling tells him not to seek revenge bc how could she not be angry at their friend's demise? Now, Darling's a kitsune, somewhat old at that so she's seen the passage of human lives and while they are dear to her its not something she argues with. This is "fate"- humans die, and those who pick up a sword tend to die on one as well. Its not something she argues with. But Kuni, having learned emotions from humans and being poorly influenced lashes out and Darling cuts their relations bc of that. Kuni disappears and Darling suffers in silence throughout her grief.
Cut to several centuries later when Darling is going to Watatsumi on Yae's orders to try and negotiate a peace deal or safe return of some Narukami soldiers as a favor to the Tenryouu Commission when she catches sight of the Fatui. Curious and dreading she follows them until she ends up in their delusion factory, and she quickly susses out that theyre using Orobashi's remains to do smth awful so she uses her kitsune magic to disguise herself to gather evidence then hightail it outta there when she feels cool, porcelain hands wrap around her and pin her down.
When she looks up she's greeted with familiar amethyst eyes on an ageless, perfectly sculpted boyish face she once adored long ago.
She never returns to the shrine, but the fatui left behind in Inazuma whisper of the Lord Balladeer acquiring a beautiful fox for a pet that wears a collar adorned with electro crystals that lays tensely on his lap or in his arms at all times. Possessiveness? Perhaps. The fatui know the few times anyone dared to approach it they were struck down by their Lord's electro, and the one rare time the little fox wandered too far from Lord Scaramouche they could hear the pitiful yips of pain when the collar shocked them to immobolize them.
AAAAA that’s so good!!!!
Scaramouche would absolutely treat kitsune!darling like a pet. The collar he forces you to wear hurts and is both a means of keeping you in check while also showing that you belong to him—that he owns you—but at the very least it’s fashionable. Only the finest of materials for Scaramouche’s most beloved pet. He’ll train you well, and if you don’t learn the first few times that electric shock will certainly teach you.

i would make fun of belos for managing to possess only people who fucking hate his guts and would do anything to get him OUT of their heads once he's in there but now that i think about it it seems like a deliberate choice... sure, hunter was kind of a coincidence, since he was the only one in the house who ended up noticing the goop on the floor, but it was immediately after all the other kids had just left the house. it's so weird that none of them noticed. we know belos was capable of at least some free movement during that time, since we see him around killing deer and stuff, so i think it's likely he waited to slither out until hunter was the only one there.
and then raine. this one is particularly damning. odalia was literally right there. she'd been one of his most loyal followers since day one, and he probably wouldn't have had to worry about much resistance from her at all. she was willing and ready to prove herself useful, but he shoved her aside and went for raine, the coven head who had been plotting against him behind his back since literally BEFORE they even became head bard. it feels deliberate at this point.
if it was that he just wanted a puppet body he knew couldn't fight back, he could've gone for any of the many puppets in that room at all! any of them that hadn't been plotting his downfall before they were collected! and if he wanted a coven head, terra was right there! adrian was right there! they were both loyal to him to the end. there was literally no reason to pick the one who'd been conspiring to overthrow him since day one. but still, for some reason, he thought raine specifically would prove "quite useful". of course, part of it might be that he wanted to manipulate eda, though... i can't see what for? he's only interacted with the collector so far- he hasn't even attempted to talk to her, and he doesn't even know she's still alive, uncollected. i think he deliberately possesses people who hate him. i think he does it to take a sick revenge- hunter betrayed him, so now he gets to watch as hands that were once his kill his friends. raine's never been anything but a thorn in his side, so now he's making them prove their worth in the worst way possible.

32, 37 (evil), 44, 46 and 48 for soggy? my soggy?
random character asks : open
32. Something guaranteed to make them smile/laugh
animals doing silly things, people close to her cracking jokes. she'll even laugh in awkward situations to alleviate stress (though she doesn't laugh in very stressful situations)
37. What they really think about themselves
i see you (evil)
she has a lot of negativity, frustration, anger, and hatred for herself but frustrates herself more by feeling so adamantly she cannot tell anyone how she feels because they feel that she'll let them down and sour their mood. or they wouldn't understand how she feels or not want to talk about anything difficult with her
she is supposed to be the silly iterator and is upset she feels anything but
does not help that her careless experimentation is killing herself (the rot consumes) and one of her best friends (ghost, the rot consumes) and she feels she will never be able to make up for that
she thinks there is nothing good about her. she talks because she is social and she must but wonders why anyone loves her when she cannot love herself
44. Their happiest memory
a collection of memories. spending the majority of the cycle chatting away with flesh of the innocent after they met outside of anonymous broadcasts. how their conversations evolved from a commonality of intetests to being about each other and what was going on
but again. not wanting to worry and disappoint and stress others so she stopped talking about the rot getting worse
46. The person they most admire
summer is more casual about everything, even the hard topics. not afraid to be honest and get serious when needed. he also keeps trying to reach out and check in. but also probably bib in the sqs setting for sticking with people despite everything and still caring when it gets tough
48. Scariest moment of their life
finding the rot festering on its puppet. something that didn't want to be ignored despite her trying. it was (still is) gross and horrifying. shes better at tuning it out now but its still a constant heavy reminder of mistakes

I know the post is several days old but your tags on the Jill Tuck post where you talk about “losing one son and then killing the cuckoo in the nest” have been living in my head rent free like it’s so accurate…. The relationship between Jill and the apprentices is just so fascinating to me…
HONESTLY!!!!! Post/tags in question. This is gonna make another entry in the collection of 'Jack's asks that Cai turns into meta.'
I haven't really seen Jill Tuck much (hanging my head in shame from not having watched the later movies yet, maybe i'll watch the next one tonight) so some of this might not be as fully fleshed out as it could be with meanings and parallels.
I love her so much though!!!!! So much!!! Queen who only wanted to help, and honestly had more hand in shaping the Jigsaw philosophy than most people want to admit!!!!
After all, 'Cherish your life' was her slogan for her clinic and it became a central tenet in the religion of Jigsaw. Her core belief of fresh starts and renewal was adopted and twisted by John. Billy the puppet who became the face of the Jigsaw Killer(s) was created as a gift to show John's devotion to her and their future son.
Her tragic loss of Gideon set John down his road, and the event itself provided his selection for some of his first victims, including a future Apprentice. The death of one child creates the birth of another. She had as much a hand in creating Amanda the Apprentice as John did.
She was literally the origin point for Jigsaw.
How did John pull a bad bitch like Jill Tuck??? The world will never know. But her role as a surrogate mother to match John's metaphor as father figure for the Apprentices is so interesting to me. Warning, this is gonna be about her relationship to all the Apprentices, not just Mark, and a little bit about her and John, and a little bit more about John's relationships with the Apprentices again.
Because I love the little fucked up family that is the Jigsaw Killers. Some parts are going to be shorter than others cause, well. Like I said, I've not seen all her interactions fully.
This is under the cut cause uh, long, again. Almost eye-rolling-ly long. (Show us that sclera baby!) But, I mean, what else do you expect from me at this point? Let's go.
Amanda. Oh Amanda.
She is, in some ways, a mirror of Jill herself. If she was created by Jill's actions, then she is the shadow of Jill, her parent.
First off, parentification among daughters is well recorded. And while this phenomena chiefly impacts children going through adolescence and forming their personality, I think it could definitely be applied to Amanda, who has been reborn, as the movies explicitly say.
From Wikipedia, (bolded emphasis mine):
"Gender considerations mean that sometimes the eldest boy or eldest girl is selected, even if they are not the oldest child overall, for such reasons as the preference to match the sex of the missing parent. Girls, especially those who have a large family, are likelier than boys to be parentified."
She is constantly shown as the most caring (especially in a medical sense! Saw III shows this!) towards John, their fucked up little family’s ‘parent’ figure. She is deeply emotionally involved with John, basing her emotions often on his moods and expectations of her. This could easily be argued as a form of spousification as well, but uh. Regardless!
She is the one pushes around his wheelchair, who oversees the medical procedure in Saw III. She appears to have even taught herself some medical knowledge, and decorated the operating room with religious figures in a shrine like fashion. John is, after all, a father and godhead, and children often treat their parents as if they are rulers or gods within their family structures. Besides, who else would have gotten him his Lucky Charms Cheerios in Saw II? All jokes aside-Amanda is, essentially, his caretaker and most devoted disciple.
However, the caretaker role was not one she just happened to fall into, I think. No, I think that is a role she takes over from Jill.
Jill repeatedly tries to reach out to John, to care for him when he neglects his personal health in pursuit of the Jigsaw Killings, and he brushes her off, instead sliding that role over to Amanda.
Aside from acting as caretaker for John, she has an instinctive urge to protect those she sees as weaker than her, especially children.
Laura, who she guides into death by holding her, as if she is an older sister protecting her in her final moments. Daniel, who she leads around by the wrist, as if she is guiding a younger brother. Corbett, who she whispers advice to through the door, a final act of protection. She can’t help but betray herself in these small actions and gestures, having in some ways, the same caring nature of Jill.
She’s also the one trying to reunite Jill and John by presenting herself as the shining example of John’s methods working. In an almost desperate bid of ‘See? Look Jill, this can work!’ John presents her as if it’s a debutante ball, and for her part, Amanda looks so so so much like a nervous child presenting a report card to Jill that it physically hurts me. She is also placing herself between them, quite literally, in Shawnee Smith’s blocking in relation to Tobin Bell and Betsy Russell’s in that scene.
Which, one, breaks my heart, but also two, once again that’s the eldest daughter mode of playing go between for feuding ‘parents’. She is acting as their ‘third thing’, that object of shared attention where attention meets and intertwines.
Amanda must think, in parallel to John’s twisted thoughts, that if she can show how she’s changed, she can help John win back Jill, then everything will be alright again. John will be happy again and she can gain his parental love and affection she desires, maybe even the approval of Jill. It’s once again, that lost daughter of a broken family trying to make things better.
As for Lawrence, we don't get to see a lot of his relationship with Jill. However what we do see is impactful.
He is tasked with retaliating if anything should happen to Jill, protecting her life and memory as a kind of living, breathing insurance policy for her. When Jill learns of Lawrence, as she drops off the tape from John to Lawrence, she is trusting this unknown factor (a son she didn't know she had) to do what is right.
Lawrence, in turn, obeys John's will, valuing Jill's life and memory for John, like a distant but favored son would. It is an intense, focused, contained, dutiful sort of love towards her, made all the more significant as he's never physically mets her, face to face, within the events we are shown in the movies.
Aside from that, Jill is continuously shown in a white lab coat, the same costuming for Lawrence, which draws visual similarities between the two, and emphasizes the connotations linked with such mode of dress. Competency, knowledge, cleanliness, care, healing. It's a very interesting parallel as Jill was the last person who loved and was loved by John, while Lawrence (who could be argued as John's most successful Apprentice, and thus best loved) holds no love for John.
I can't speak of their relationship as nearly as much as I wish to, chiefly cause I haven't seen the full movie yet. Sigh.... I really need to get on that.
And now, on to Mark, who this ask was originally suppose to be about. Cheesus Crispy on a cracker, how did this get so long... and it's only going to get longer.
Mark, and how he relates to Jill, is very interesting. I've mentioned before how he is a Nero figure, killing his mother and burning down the kingdom. But you know who else he reminds me of, in a slightly roundabout way? Oedipus Rex.
Oedipus Rex, as you may already know, is the central figure of the Sophocles play originally titled Oedipus Tyrannus. Which, oof, much could be said about Mark as a Tyrant figure as well, someone with no legitimate claim to the throne, as he is not tested initially the same as the other Apprentices.
Oedipus Rex was fated by the Greek God Apollo to kill his father, and marry his mother, thus taking over the throne of Thebes. Mark's background expresses some of the details of the play, albeit in slightly varied ways.
Within the play, Oedipus is abandoned by his father, Laius, because he is fated to kill him. Laius asks Jocasta, Oedipus' mother, to kill the infant, however she refuses. She tasks a servant with killing the boy, however the servant also balks, instead (depending on the story) leaving the child on a bare mountaintop where he is found by a shepherd, or giving him to a shepherd who gives him to Polybus, a childless king of Coronith.
Desperate to avoid his fate that the Oracle of Delphi revealed to him, and operating under the assumption he is the child of Polybus, he travels to Thebes. Through a series of misadventures and heroic feats, Oedipus does fulfill the prophecy, killing his father and marrying his mother.
When the full truth is revealed, Oedipus asks for his sword, so that he may slay his mother with his own hand, but Jocasta has already hung herself. In despair at his tragic fate being brought to fruition, Oedipus gouges out his eyes with the golden pins that secured his mother's dress.
While the story of Oedipus doesn't exactly match up with Mark's, there are some remarkable details that jump out to me.
Oedipus being adopted by a childless king, which can be translated directly to John as a figure within his life. There's the contested details of the shepherd which, if you've read Adrian's glorious Saw etymology post, could be linked to Zep, the Apprentice that never was. There's the detail of killing his own father, as Mark had a direct hand in blackmailing Amanda, which ultimately killed her and indirectly caused Jeff to kill John.
Then there's the relationship Oedipus had to his mother, Jocasta.
When he desires to kill her, he wants to do so by his own sword, the item that is tied to his identity as a King, a warrior and the winner of her hand. And what is the Reverse Bear Trap except Mark's sword? It is his test, it is his formation as Jigsaw, it releases his bestial nature, and is what he uses to kill Jill. He is Oedipus, but one who has wrestled away the satisfaction of death from Jocasta's hands.
However, Jill's death itself becomes the golden pins, as Lawrence retaliates for Jill's death. He locks him in the bathroom, sealing him forever away in darkness, it's own form of removal of sight.
As for the more modern references of Oedipus, there's of course the Oedipus Complex. The desire (often sexual) for one's own mother, and a rivalry with one's father. Very gross. Fuck Freud forever. However, if you look at the Britannica's definition of it, it seems very relevant:
"Oedipus complex, in psychoanalytic theory, a desire for sexual involvement with the parent of the opposite sex and a concomitant sense of rivalry with the parent of the same sex..."
Mark has indeed a sense of subordinate rivalry with John, wishing to outdo him and carry out his own form of justice. As for the, uh, sexual side of Mark's infatuation with Jill, just..... This gif alone should be enough to show those undercurrents (which very interestingly parallels this moment with Peter. HUh. Parallels.)
As for my commentary about Jill losing one son and killing the cuckoo in the nest, it's intrinsically linked to her execution of John's last true will, the one in the box.
John's will is her final contact with John, a man who has ruled much of her past and life before her death. He is responsible for the greatest tragedy of her life, Gideon's death. This will is John's double edged apology to her. This is her moment for rebirth, moving forward. But it's also done in a way that asks her to still tie herself to the legacy of the Jigsaw Killers by murder a test. One last set of tasks, and then she can put John's ghost to rest.
She trusts the test part of this will to Mark, which becomes the test for William Easton. She hands that part of John's legacy off to this new, strange, brutal son.
Cuckoo birds, practice something called Brood Parasitism, in which mother cuckoos lay an egg in the nest of another bird. The egg is stronger than the host eggs, and so is resistant to being destroyed. When the cuckoo is born, they hatch faster than the host's eggs, have a mouth they hold constantly open, and grow larger then its nest mates, which it kills by tossing them out of the nest. The host birds have no choice but to feed this single offspring, even if it becomes larger than themselves.
He's the cuckoo bird to her, an interloper in the relationship nest of John and her, a creature she has no love for except she knows she must feed him, as he's thrown all other birds out of the nest. So she gives him John's final will, a poisoned morsel that draws him into her own test for Mark.
Killing Mark, using the Reverse Bear Trap, is the fabled end for her, the end of John and his continuation and legacy. She can move on, she can forget, she can wash her hands clean and be reborn how John always claimed people could be.
But she can't.
But it goes horribly wrong, like a Greek tragedy, and the cuckoo throws her from the nest too.

I have said this before elsewhere but  I can't get over how bluntly confident Van Helsing is about How Vampirism Works?? or how incurious everyone else is? I mean that whatever Van Helsing says is Up, everyone just accepts that, even though he himself has acknowledged having made errors so far
cut for length, mostly
but their Vampire Facts are based on...what?? Van Helsing has seen ONE  case run from near start to finish and was making guesses about the whole time?  Presumably he did some other research all those times he whipped back to Amsterdam, but what? Collections of folklore? He has to know that vamp folklore varies wildly (everyone who read all the vampire folklore sources they could find for years say heeeyyy!), how can he say anything at all with confidence beyond “well uh they are undead and feed on the life force of the living in some way, looks like actual blood in this case!” What if Jon's right, and Mina’s not doomed to lose herself utterly if she becomes a vamp?
What if Mina , even as a vamp , would gain back her free will if they kill Dracula?  No one knows she won’t, they’ve never met a vampire with no Dracula messing with their mind! And obviously, he IS controlling her right now; what if the problem with vampires is not so much the “vampires” as the “now your Vampire Parent uses you like a puppet?
What if there's just a period post-death when vampires aren't totally Online again yet, mentally?  like morning brainfog but much moreso, and after a few months it would be ok?  what if Mina could still be saved and returned to Mostly Human by a stay with the nuns in Budapest? Don’t we have pretty good reasons to think that Jon is only Mostly Human even now?
why is no one reaching for alternate treatment theories? why is everyone so quick to just Assume They Know Things? Isn’t Assuming We Know Things kind of a flaw that has tripped them up multiple times already?
my current theories about this:
Watsonian:  - Dracula is screwing with all their heads somehow, even now. Possibly Mina is acting as some sort of mindmuckity powers antenna? - having Slain Lucy, everyone is now emotionally invested in accepting that they had no other course--even Mina, who is directly in the most danger from the current prevailing theory, and didn’t have anything to do with Lucy’s death, has emotional reasons to want to believe Lucy wasn’t murdered by people she trusted, that there really IS no other way. -somehow this is just. the most trusting and complacent group of adults ever?? - absolutely do not tell me “everyone just accepted Doctor’s Authority then!!” they did NOT, not remotely, yes doctors and professors had more social power but there has never been a time when people universally accepted All Authority and if there was it certainly wasn’t the Victorian era, there are so many accounts, fictional and real,of people arguing with or ignoring doctors, SO many jokes about them, etc. Maybe this group accepts everything but if so they’re really unusual!
Doyleist:  -...IDK, either this is getting ready to be a HUGE shut-down on the idea of Following The Leader and Not Interrogating Your Hypotheses or it’s setting up a possibly-unintentional but pretty horrible “find the RIGHT commanding personality to completely obey” vibe  - if the latter, IDK if it’s intentional(if so: weird! bad!!, but hardly the first argument I’ve got with this text) or just Stoker wanting to hurry up and skip to the hunting scenes (unfortunate for me!! I love a good Research Wrangle scene!)

Danganronpa: The Ultimate Student - Prologue
Tumblr media
Location: Y/n's House - Uptown Creation City
Date: July 14, 2022
Time: 9:30 PM
Y/n's POV
Hello there. My name is Y/n L/n and I live in Uptown Creation City, living by myself, far away from my awful parents and I...am a diehard fan of Danganronpa.
Yes, I am talking about the adventure, visual novel, detective and dating simulation type of game known as Danganronpa. I have every video game, manga books, figurines and every single piece of Danganronpa merchandise known to man and it was all worth the trouble of collecting everything that is based on my favorite anime.
My most favorite character in the series was the cute, but very dangerous and cunning black and white bi-sided bear known as Monokuma as he takes the role as the Hope's Peak Academy's own principal and used many tactics to manipulate the Ultimate Students in killing each other through murder, despite most of the students refusing to murder each other in order to escape the school turned prison through graduation.
All of that was caused by the students that have fallen into despair...
The point of the game is when a dead body student is found around school grounds, the other students have to figure out who is the 'blackened' and if they find the culprit correct, the murderer will receive the death penalty of Monokuma's brand of executions, but if they get the wrong culprit, all of the students except for the real culprit will all be punished, leaving the murderer to get away with murder and graduate.
I played all of the Danganronpa games 27 times and I know all the characters that killed the other students in each game.
The only thing I hate about the series was Junko Hiroshima, not because that she a dranged lunatic like she always does with a passion for murder, mayhem and despair, its just that she uses Monokuma for her own entertainment and used the whole scenario of seeing the students murder each other for a TV Show, which explains about all the cameras all around the school that is recording everything that has happened during the events of the game.
I always thought of Monokuma as a sentient being like a Very Powerful AI controlling the bear and I never saw him as either a puppet or a high-tech build-a-bear reject.
If I was in that game, I would prove to Monokuma that I would be his most favorite student and beat Junko at her own game.
If I had an Ultimate Talent, I would be known as the Ultimate Student. It doesn't matter what kind of special talent that I have that makes me an Ultimate Student, I have any Ultimate Talent that will get me into Hope's Peak Academy.
However, that will never happen because all of that stuff from the series is all made believe and not real. It's all part of reality and you just have to deal with it and move on.
I understand that none of the events of the game ever actually happened in real life, but I would love to see myself in that universe and meet the entire cast of the Danganronpa franchise as well as Monokuma himself.
But then again, that's part of reality and you can't make it happen like you're some sort of God or have the ability to travel through different dimensions.
We can't always get what we want in our lives. It's all part of our lives...
But that's ok, I can always just imagine myself being inside all of those games I played, the manga I read or even replay with the figurines and plush dolls I have of the characters.
I even wrote my own Danganronpa AU fanfiction and I would post it online, but I didn't want anyone thinking that I'm super obsessed with Danganronpa and might end up like Junko herself.
So, anyways you all wondered what's going to happen next in this story. Well, as I was getting ready for bed because I have work tomorrow morning and I gotta get some sleep to get to work on time.
The very moment that I got in the covers of my Monokuma bed sheets, I turned off the lights and went to sleep before I said something to myself before I went out like a candle.
Y/n: I wish I was a part of the Danganronpa universe as the Ultimate Student at Hope's Peak Academy...zzzzzzzz
Those words that came out of my month sent a message to the cosmic being of the multiverse that heard my cries for help as the God's Creation got the message and decided to grant my wish that will change my life forever.
Creation: I can fully understand your desires to be the Ultimate Student in the world of Danganronpa and I shall grant your wish. The moment you wake up from your slumber, you will find yourself in a dorm room at Hope's Peak Academy, but you will not remember everything from your past life once you arrive at the Academy as your new life. However, your vast knowledge of this series will be your greatest weapon in surviving through the world filled with nothing but Hope and Despair as you will be known as Y/n L/n aka The Ultimate Student.
With the cosmic power of the Multiverse, he transported me to the Danganronpa Universe as my life as the Ultimate Student at Hope's Peak Academy is finally coming true as I was blessed by the creative power of the God's Creation.
As I was being sent to the Danganronpa universe, Creation was about to head back to his realm, only to stop for a moment to say a few words before leaving back to his lair.
Creation: Oh, I also added a special surprise once you meet this "Monokuma" that I heard so much about. A very interesting creature to be a highly advanced AI in a high tech build-a-bear reject that is the balance between Hope and Despair. He's gonna be so surprised to see an uninvited guest inside the school and once meets the Ultimate Student for the first time, his reaction is absolutely "Unbearable". (Chuckles) I crack myself up. (Looks around in my room to see my entire Danganronpa collection) Nice collection by the way, Y/n. I better get all of your Danganronpa merchandise to a safe place in my dimension, where no one will ever try to steal them.
He then used his powers to put my entire Danganronpa collection in a safe place where no one will ever find it and he soon went back to his own dimension while I'm being sent to the world of Danganronpa to start my life as The Ultimate Student.
This was going to be the adventure of my entire life, but I must be on high alert as I'm about to enter Monokuma territory and things will soon fall into despair once the games of murder and trail begin at Hope's Peak Academy.
Meanwhile in an Alternate Universe...
No POV
Inside the principal's office at Hope's Peak Academy, a familiar looking bi-sided black and white bear was sitting at his desk, relaxing and drinking a glass of wine when he suddenly heard something from a few dimensions away that insulted him when Creation made a joke about him that his reaction about a new student arriving here at the academy uninvited would be "un-bear-able" to him and he did not like that at all.
Monokuma: (Growls) Why do I suddenly hear someone make fun of me with bear puns and I don't remember having an extra student coming to this school, uninvited. Eh, no matter. More students, means more fun ways to bring despair and murder to amuse me. Yet, I'm still deeply offended by whoever made fun of me and it wasn't bear-y nice at all.

There is nothing more permanent in this world than Death, a terrifying concept that many people overlook till it is their time to leave the life they had so painfully created. Yet Death would continue to take its toll and paving way for newer generations, whose life it shall eventually consume. It was after all the Grim Reaper's job.
The Grim Reaper, is all but Death personified, responsible for the collection of souls, often represented as a hooded-scythe carrying creature. But here the Reaper is nothing like the stories we have heard in our childhood, ones that mothers used to tell their children to scare them to sleep, people who had been unfortunate enough to witness her always thought that she was beauty in itself, this prevented them from suspecting that she was there to end them in the most gruesome way one had ever seen.
She was The Reaper to HYDRA; nothing but a pawn in their game. Someone who could kill whoever they wanted, whenever they desired.
Arianna Orlova had been under HYDRA'S captivity for ages, making them believe that she was their puppet, bidding her time. Waiting for an opportunity to strike back at her creators. It hadn't been easy considering the tight leash they had on her. But they could do only so much to keep the monster they had created under their control.
She waited patiently as the snow covered the ground followed by the rays of sun burning her skin, if there was one thing she had learned in the duration of her time with HYDRA was patience. She was like a snake waiting for its prey to let its guard down to strike and win its meal.
And after 70 years of experiencing nothing but torture, death and pain her time had finally come, she let the monster that they had created loose and enjoyed the look of fear in their eyes just as the light in them faded to oblivion, she escaped their clutches and made sure to let the world know that the infamous Reaper was dead.

Arya Prince as she now called herself, was sitting on the terrace of an old building in New York, over looking and trying to get lost within the loud noises of the city that never sleeps. It had been a peaceful day well, as far as a SHIELD agent is considered.
After cleaning the mess created by an Asgardian God, all she wanted to do was to have a night of dream less sleep which apparently was too much to ask for.
Nightmares plagued her sleep leading the assassin to sit on the rooftop nursing her rare bottle of beer, a streak that she enjoys only when her mission is completed.
The solitude was broken quite rudely by the blaring of her phone. She sighs and sets her bottle down, she knows that if someone was calling on her phone it meant, it had to be important as only a handful of people knew her number.
She sported a rare smile seeing the the contact ID. "Well, Well if it isn't my favorite suited Original? How may this lowly peasant be of help my Lord?" "Aari I need your help regarding my brother." Hearing him so worried, she instantly understood the gravity of the situation. "Let me guess, your brother found the doppelgänger." She had heard rumors of the doppelgänger through her many contacts. "Not quite, I found information that she is currently in Mystic Falls and I am headed that way, I would like to know if you would accompany me."
"I would love to Eli, send me your location." "I shall be waiting for your company." Finishing her drink, she picked up her helmet, "Well I guess Mystic falls here I come."
Little did she know how this one trip to Mystic Falls would change her life forever.
