Like the whole idea of the Coffy s5 fic came from me headcanoning that Cordelia is like the only person who doesn't have any Dawn memories (because she's already got her hookup with the Powers That Be and they're too in her head for her memory to be overwritten by the monks spell thing) and it just never comes up because why would it she lives in her own separate sphere and barely ever interacts with the Sunnydale cast (I don't know if it does ever come up and is confirmed one way or the other later) anyway and then later on when the whole Riley Into the Woods thing (bleh) happened I was thinking it'd be nice if Buffy had a friend who'd also been cheated on and could comisserate with her, (and then maybe more eyebrows wiggle emoji?). Anyway so the concept right now is just a broad most things are similar AU but Cordy visits Sunnydale every few weeks on a weekend or something just to be like she lives in demon infested LA but it could be worse she could still live on top of a Hellmouth, everyone else is talking about Dawn like she's a thing, Cordy's got no idea, plays along thinking its some regular Sunnydale weirdness scheme happening, talks to Buffy about it and now Buffy has someone else who knows about the Dawn situation that she can talk to and they get closer (also I think it'd be really funny if Cordelia ran into Glory at the shops and they just hit it off immediately and go shopping together). But obviously I wanna finish S5 before I really get started there just to get all the facts y'know.
The Vamp!Willow/Harmony one is an AU where Wishverse!Willow doesn't get sent back to her own universe, she gets out of town comes back later and Harmony attaches herself to her so that Willow can be her evil mentor sorta figure after one of her many break ups with Spike. Willow hates it and is constantly trying to get away from her but eventually somewhat warms up to her as someone who isn't boring her right now (tentatively called Five Times Willow Rosenberg didn't kill Harmony Kendall)
And the Fuffy one is too ambitious, so like I really like Gwendolyn Post in Revelations so like full s3 redo where she gets to be around the whole time and works to make Faith into her personal attack dog, Faith gets to be messed up but in like somewhat different ways, it'll be fun. (this is the one I've written the most for but it would also be the biggest one so argh I really want to get back to it the last time I typed in that document was probably a couple months ago)
Also like there is admittedly a Cordelia/Willow one rattling around in here because they spent an entire night locked in a closet together and that's gotta lead somewhere right? One day it will reveal itself to me beyond the vague idea of hey what if Willow phoned up Cordelia after she broke up with Oz just to talk to someone who wouldn't treat her with the kid gloves?
And yeah I do really want to get something written and posted this month absolutely I will try.
i want to juice your brain like a lemon and drink it oh my god

SO!
I don't remember the last time I actually made a post but this fic idea has been rattling around in my brain for a while and I just had to get an opinion!
So I'm into Stranger Things pretty heavily rn, and I came up with the idea of a MASSIVE Canon divergence fic, but I have no idea if anyone would want to see this kind of content written. It started because I was thinking about how the show focuses a lot on characters who live in a pretty small and removed Midwestern town, but I didn't get to see all of the quirks that come along with that. I understand in terms of show runtime, but as someone who came from a tiny town in bumfuck Montana, I wanted to see El react to these small town quirks and take them completely at face value. That sort of spiraled into how she would encounter these things since neither upper-middle class Wheeler or Completely Solitary Hopper would have taught her, and so I came to an interesting conclusion:
What if Benny never called CPS? Picture it from his perspective: this kid in front of him has just told him that she's named 11. Like the number. She's clearly terrified and probably half starved by the way she's wolfing down the burger, to say nothing of the goddamn tattoo on her wrist and the prisoner buzzcut. But he's a bit torn. His first instinct is to call the cops, which seems like a bit too big of an escalation, but this child is acting like some sort of robot and he's not sure who else to call. His next thought is to the Social Services ad in the paper, but he's not really sure what he'd even say to them. 'Hey, found this girl who might have been a prisoner or an escaped torture victim?' They're gonna think he's making it up.
The girl has just stuffed the last of the burger in her mouth at this point and locks eyes with him, doing that thing again where she just keeps continuous eye contact with very little blinking. Little creepy, but hey. She might be a torture victim, he'll give her some slack for how level headed she seems. She's also very food motivated.
So he keeps to the original deal he struck and goes to get some ice cream. She seems suspicious of it at first, which is fucking weird, and then digs in practically by the handful after she's had a taste. He pulls the pint away from her after a bit because eating that much ice cream that fast was probably going to make her sick. Just like last time, she gives it up with no hesitation or protest and goes back to staring at him. And he starts to ask her more questions. And more. And she keeps answering him with more and more concerning and horrifying one word answers. Kid seems to only have a vocabulary of 10 words but they hurt him more than anything else he's ever heard.
I haven't fully fleshed it out on paper yet, but I really want to have a Benny Lives AU!!! But my fic would have to involve having a bunch of OCs be semi-importent to the plot and I know that some people don't like those kind of fics. Would anyone read this fic if I wrote it?? How would shipping alignments change with such a big divergence?? So many questions....

There’s one ~silver lining~ of my iPad being broken: I’ve had loads of time to think about my many half-formed undercover phantom au ideas! Since I have no idea when or what will make it to comic form, here’s the lowdown…. AKA, everything that’s been rattling around my brain recently :P
For context: Danny, Sam and Tucker have never met, and nobody knows Danny is Phantom. When Vlad’s newest bit of tech gets Danny stuck in ghost mode (with the rest of his powers on the fritz to boot), he meets Tucker and Sam—who instantly see through his disguise and lend a helping hand. (Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4!!)
So. After that, Danny—no, Phantom—becomes friends with them. It’s exciting! He was invisible at school even before the ghost powers; he was pretty isolated and lonely and being Phantom for the last year hasn’t exactly been a social boon. Kid’s lonely, ok?
But now… two human friends? Who’re his age & share his interests? It’s like a dream come true! If only they weren’t exclusively friends with his ghost self… and if only they didn’t wanna be so involved in his dangerous ghost hunting things…Uhhh. Hm. Could be a problem.
Danny angsts about the danger he’s putting his new friends in, and about not being able to befriend them as a human. He plays with the idea of telling them Everything but that’s… risky to say the least. He’s only known them a few weeks! ugh….!! it’s too much. maybe he should just throw the towel in.
Buuut Sam & Tucker don’t take no for an answer. Especially after they rescue him a third time.
Thus… Phantom friendship shenanigans!!
Sam filched some parts from the Fentonworks Lab when Phantom took them there, and later convinced Tucker to help her build a custom mini ectogun in case of emergency. They didn’t tell Phantom.
Danny is really sentimental about that DP hat he wore when he first met Sam & Tucker. He wore it as Phantom for a while but it got singed in a fight. He still wears it when he hangs out with Tucker & Sam but otherwise keeps it squirreled away for Sentimental Reasons.
“So Phantom, how old are you?” “I’m 15.” “15 now? Or 15 when you died?” “Yes.”
Tucker has a bunch of awful 90s button up shirts, and gives one to Phantom
They aren’t able to convince Sam to wear one too, but they sure do try.
Phantom won’t tell them when he died, so once he starts wearing 90s shirts they start using terrible 90s slang with him
“I am NOT from the 90s!!! They didn’t even SAY that then!!!” “methinks the lady doth protest too much…..home slice” “NOOO!!!”
“Phantom I have an extremely important question. Like, life or death. SHIT is on the LINE here. Are you listening?? I really need to know…. Do ghosts play video games”
The answer may surprise you (no it won’t)
Sam is completely convinced they can ACTUALLY get a good working guess of when Phantom lived and died based on the fact he liked Nasty Burger when he was alive, since NB’s a regional chain with a not-so-distant past. Tucker meanwhile thinks Phantom probably has a good reason for keeping them at arm’s length—but regardless of method, they can agree: they want to break down Phantom’s walls.
The next arc is less “Undercover Phantom” and more “Undercover Fenton” because the juxtaposition of him having to do hidden identities squared (squared again) is too good for me to pass up. It boils down to this: during a ghost attack at school, Danny finds himself stuck being “protected” by Sam and Tucker.
Sam and Tucker take their new jobs as Phantom’s ghost hunting companions too seriously to let this skinny stranger they just met run TOWARDS the danger. WHY does he keep trying to run TOWARDS the danger
NO YOU CANNOT GO TO THE BATHROOM THE SCHOOL IS ON G H O S T L O C K D O W N
Sam pulls out her ectogun.
Danny: WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?!
Sam does not tell him.
“Wait, your last name’s Fenton? Like Fentonworks Fenton?” “No, the other Fenton.” “Oh… well, that’s too bad…” “YES LIKE FENTONWORKS FENTON”
Sam is initially wary of Danny because of his parents’ super strong anti-ecto views. Danny is clueless as to why she isn’t very friendly to him-as-a-human when she’s great with him-as-a-ghost. but she warms up after he helps resolve the ghost issue in a way that shows he doesn’t subscribe to his parents’ views.
afterwards you get this excellent situation where Danny is now friends with Sam and Tucker as Phantom and as Fenton, and they’re not connecting the dots as quickly as they did when it was just “that’s Phantom wearing a hoodie and a cap with his own logo on it”.
the potential here? *chefs kiss* here’s a few things but honestly? the possibilities are limitless
Danny pretending to not have a cell phone because he already gave them his number as Phantom
Tucker: *dials Phantom*
Danny, standing directly next to him: *frantically attempting to silence his phone*
Sam & Tucker try to introduce Danny and Phantom. Danny has to make excuses to avoid this happening in both forms.
Danny takes Sam & Tucker down to the Fentonworks Lab to get them some real equipment. Sam & Tucker pretend (very badly) that they’ve never been there before
Rooftop chill sessions as Phantom, late night teenage hijinks as Fenton, plus school AND fighting ghosts does not do any favors for Danny’s sleep deprivation. Tucker introduces him to caffeine pills with… mixed results.
Tucker and Sam teach Phantom some sign language. Later Danny slips up and uses it casually with them as Fenton
…. And many other silly mixups that I’ve yet to think of because I live for that shit
Sam & Tucker have theories about the Fenton-Phantom connection and they’re all wrong but somehow also plausible and that freaks Danny out just a little bit if he ever overhears them
Ultimately, I see this AU having a final arc where a New Situation occurs in which Danny-as-Phantom has to—once again—pretend to be human. This time, he’s with Sam & Tucker as Phantom from the get go, and can’t disappear or transform, even if being Phantom is extremely dangerous at that moment. Somehow this scenario would lead to the Fenton-is-Phantom (or, in this case, Phantom-is-Fenton) reveal…. But the details still escape me :P
so in short………… I really like hidden identities

I've been getting invested in your papa of two au, and I was just thinking, in the version where the twins have no idea Bruno's their father and simply think they're close cousins, a part of me likes to imagine that scene at the end where Abuela's being hard on Mirabel and blaming her for the magic with maybe a small slip in her rant that doesn't say the truth, but doesn't exactly fit into the lie they've been told. Or maybe she's going a bit harder than she does in canon because of what she knows and starts blowing up at Camilo as well when he inevitably tries to defend Mirabel, especially when they bring up Bruno.
Except Bruno's hearing it all from the walls and decides enough's enough and bursts from his hiding place for the first time in years to defend his kids, or take the blame for himself, because he's used to being the scapegoat, but he refuses to stand by and listen to his kids be berated just for trying to help. He doesn't even care anymore what his mother's thinking of him or will, but he doesn't want either of his kids to ever feel like he did.
I am so sorry this took so long to respond too!! Oh I love this, thanks to the We Need to Talk About Bruno Server, I have so many idea's rattling around my little brain about the au. Abuela would definitely be harder on Mirabel during the fight than in canon. Mirabel is the twin that looks the most like Bruno, her precious son, who resembles Pedro so much. She doesn't know why Bruno left the family, why Mirabel wasn't given a gift, but she's lashing out at the only thing keeping her going being threatened.
"Bruno left because of you two! Bruno didn't care about this family, didn't care about you!" Mirabel would be so confused on the emphasis on her and eventually Camilo who jumps into the fight, who's also confused. The slip up isn't that too big though, their more pressed over the years of build-up of generational trauma. (I don't think Bruno would jump out, he's more terrified of the walls cracking around him bc Casita is falling down) Casita falls down, and then Bruno comes out. Since Mirabel ran off, Camilo ran after her, leaving both the twins missing, making the illusion that they didn't get out, leaving Bruno devastated. The only hope is Dolores seeing Camilo run off, so they start searching. Alma finds the twins, has the hug butterfly scene and then Bruno arrives. He goes all off and this time Alma can't interrupt him because he's too worked up, and he vents all his frustrations just to protect them. And then she hugs him and they go back, and eventually Pepa and Julieta are like "bitch tell your kids!"
Which leads to another set of problems for another time <3

i’d love you to love me (ao3)
it starts out with a pact. neither of them will date, until they can both find people to date. except, they don't expect to be honouring that years later, and when jay starts to fall in love with lola, he realises that it's time for ben to date someone too. in the most chaotic way possible.
or, a vague 10 things i hate about you au.
-
It’s a miserable day. The sky is an unrelentingly dark grey shade, cascading for miles and miles with no end in sight. The rain has been pouring down all day, and the wind mixes with it, causing the rain to hit against windows, creating a rattling sound all over. It’s that horrible misty spray that means Ben can’t even see that far in front of him, though he knows his way around Walford that well now that he really doesn’t have to look to see where he’s going. Jay’s walking out in front of him, a breaking leather ball at his feet, scraping along the wet pavement with an awful sounding scratch.
“It’s freezing!” Ben shouts over the rain, and he watches in awe somewhat, as raindrops fall onto his eyelashes, tiny little droplets clinging on for dear life. It’s true, it is freezing. The torrential rain bounces up off of the pavement and clings to his socks, climbing up onto his grey school trousers and staining them darker and darker as time goes by. There’s not a single part of him that isn’t shivering and wet, but he and Jay have a routine now, one that happens regardless of the weather.
The school’s over bell will ring out just after three, a shrieking tinny noise, one that’s surely going to be imprinted on everyone’s brain for years to come. Ben will stand next to the doors at the side of school, and then Jay will follow moments later, catching up with him. It goes unspoken, because this routine has been going on for so long without ever changing, that they’ll walk home together, strolling into a corner shop and getting as many sweets as possible, before going to their local park and staying there until they have to go home for whatever reason.
“Oh come on!” Jay turns his entire body and starts to walk backwards, the wind blowing his hood down within seconds and he scrambles to put it back up, though it’s in vain. “Are you telling me you want to go back home already? Because I know for certain you have science homework to do, and so does your mum.”
Ben looks to the ground, watching the raindrops splashing into the puddles and breaking into even tinier pieces before falling back down again. It’s almost relaxing to watch it, or it would be, if his hands weren’t currently frozen completely numb. “My mum’s got science work to do, has she?” He asks cheekily, but he knows Jay’s right. Jay’s always right. He knows that the second he walks through his door, he’s going to have to spend the rest of the evening doing his work for tomorrow, and he couldn’t think of anything worse than that, so staying at the park in the pouring rain wins yet again.
He manages to look up in time to see Jay roll his eyes, and he kicks his ball back towards Ben as they walk in the direction of the park. “You need a new ball, mate.” Ben comments, picking it up and throwing it back at Jay. He regrets picking it up, because the ball’s been collecting that much water as Jay kicked at it all the way home that it’s sopping wet and heavy.
“I know.” Jay replies, and they turn into the park. Ben’s got nowhere to sit, his usual place on the swing is collecting a puddle of muddy water underneath so the idea of sitting there doesn’t even cross his mind. Instead, he sits on the small brick wall, resting on the very edges of his coat to try and minimise how sopping wet his trousers are going to be when he eventually stands up. He realises that it probably won’t do anything sufficiently, and he’s going to be cold and wet regardless. There’s a silence that grows between them for a moment or two, but that’s normal. Jay kicks the ball against the wall that Ben’s sitting on and they both watch as chips of the bricks start to crumble away and swirl away in a stream of a puddle that runs downhill. “What happened in science today?” Jay asks, breaking the comfortable silence.
Ben huffs out a laugh, more sarcastic than anything else, because he’s been waiting all day for Jay to ask him, or at least, since the class directly before lunch. “Nothing.” He says, and then he looks down the road and sees cars driving slowly, headlights on full beam.
Jay nods slowly. “Right. So you’ve spent all day in a mood, for nothing? Makes a whole lot of sense that does, Ben.” He pauses. “I’m your brother. You’re supposed to tell me everything.”
Brother. It’s such a simple word. Of course, biologically, they aren’t brothers, but in every other sense of the word they are. They’ve been inseparable from the day they first met.
“I overheard Connor and Sarah talking.” Ben says, and he already he knows he sounds stupid for even being remotely bothered about this. “Saying that nobody would ever want to be with you, because I’m here scaring them off.”
“And you’re bothered about that?” Jay lets out a soft chuckle, resting his foot on the top of the ball. “Mate, I couldn’t care less about getting with anyone right now. Tell you what though, I wouldn’t be interested in anyone unless they wanted to be around you too. We’re a package deal, you and me.”
Ben looks up and rolls his eyes. “That supposed to be making me feel better, is it?” He laughs.
“If you were anyone else I’d be hurt by that.” Jay comments and kicks the ball a final time against the wall, so hard that Ben feels the wall shake slightly underneath him, and even more of the brick crumbles to the ground.
The rain doesn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon, and they’re both starting to get far too cold and hungry and wet. The grey sky does seem to be getting darker though, and that’s probably a sign for it both getting later, and the weather getting worse.
“How about we make a pact?” Jay asks, though it’s clear that he doesn’t think of the implication of his words before he speaks, if the shock on his own face is anything to go by. The wind blows down his hood once again as it whistles and swirls around them, causing ripples in the puddles.
“What pact?” Ben asks, getting to his feet and swinging his bag across his body.
Jay shrugs as he tries to think. “How about, we don’t date anyone, until we’ve both found people to date.”
It’s completely and utterly ridiculous, and they’re both well aware of that fact. But they’re also both just a few weeks away from turning sixteen years old and if they’re being completely honest, neither of them have anything better to do with their time.
There’s a silence between them for a moment as Ben tries to take in Jay’s words and then slowly but surely, he nods. “Yeah.” Ben whispers out, and he can barely hear his own voice above the deluge of rain, with heavy and harsh droplets falling around them. “Go on then.”
So that’s it. Ben agrees to the pact, and from that day on, it becomes Ben and Jay’s rule.
Neither of them would date anyone, until they both found someone to date.
It’s just that, the pact was never supposed to last as long as it has.
It’s over two years later, and Ben and Jay are still in Walford. They’re probably always going to be stuck in Walford really - they know far too many people who have tried to get out into the world, only to come back not long after. They’re both still just as inseparable, and again, that’s something that is probably never going to change. The pact is still there, it’s still something that they talk about occasionally, laughing at how ridiculous it is, and yet, it still stands, though not through a lack of trying.
Nobody has really shown Ben much interest over the last two years, besides the occasional man at a party or a club, but nothing long standing. Perhaps it’s because he still lives in Walford, around so many of the people he’s known his entire life. In such a small place, everyone knows everyone and knows everything about everyone. It’s not exactly the best place in the world to be finding a partner, even less to find a gay man.
Or it could be because of the fact that Ben's got this wall surrounding him, built up so high, guarding him and protecting him from any hurt that could possibly come his way. Probably both, really. But still, nobody has ever met Ben and shown an interest in wanting to break down his wall. Ever. The story was the same for Jay as well. Nobody ever showed an interest in him, but because everyone already knew about the pact. That was, until Lola came into his life.
They’re sitting in the Queen Vic, at a circular table right in the far corner of the room. They can see almost everyone else in the building, all at their own tables or standing against the bar, chatting away and laughing. There’s even people playing darts, walking to and from the board, doing the maths in their head. In their own little space, they’re sitting at a wobbly table of three: Ben, Jay and Lola.
It’s not unusual for the three of them to be sitting together, though it probably looks unconventional from the outside looking in, especially given the fact that Jay’s got one hand outstretched, holding onto the back of Lola’s chair protectively. Ben’s definitely more than aware that he looks like a spare part, a third wheel. He knows it too. But Lola was the one to invite him along for a few drinks, though they all know she’s got an ulterior motive. She knows about the pact now. It didn’t take long for her to find out, really. From the moment her and Jay started to get close, he told her about it, and although she laughed at first because really, it is a ridiculous pact to have, she’s now taking it upon herself to make sure the pact ends, once and for all.
Lola’s got her phone in her hand, scrolling through it with a smile on her face. She keeps looking up at Jay and nodding her head silently, looking at him expectantly and then, when he shakes his head, she continues scrolling.
“Really good conversation guys, thanks for this.” Ben jokingly states, rolling his eyes to the back of his head.
“Are you sure you don’t want to go to The Albert after this?” Lola asks, sipping on her vodka and orange.
Ben glares at Jay, knowing that Jay’s told Lola about how he’s refusing to go in there after last time. “More than sure.” He says, draining the last of his beer. “Another?” He tries to stand up, but Lola’s too quick for him, dropping her phone onto the table harshly and reaching out and grabbing his hand.
“It was one idiot, Ben.” She says warmly. “Don’t let that ruin your experience.”
He smiles tightly, but he doesn’t want to hear it. He mutters something about going to the toilet, because he doesn’t want to hear about how his first time in a gay bar was ruined by some idiot starting a fight outside, throwing about homophobic slurs and punching anyone he could get his hands onto, including Ben. He takes his time in the bathroom, throwing some water on his face in an attempt to calm himself down, and when he feels better, he rejoins Jay and Lola.
“Sorry.” He says sincerely, sitting back down at the table.
Jay shrugs his shoulders. “It’s fine mate. But Lo’s right, you know? You’re young and you’re single. You should be doing what everyone our age does and go out. Don’t let one prick stop you from wanting to do that. You deserve to be able to go to whatever bar you want to go to.”
“I know.” Ben says, smiling. “Just give me time, yeah? And then we can all go out together.”
Lola perks up at that, because she’s been begging and pleading to go to a gay bar for months now, ever since The Albert first opened it’s doors. “I could easily set you up with someone you know?” Lola says absentmindedly. “You just give me your word, and I’ll find someone.”
Ben huffs out a laugh at that, and his eyes flicker up to Jay, just in time to catch him rolling his eyes at Ben’s reaction. “Know every gay man in the area, do ya?” He chuckles, but at least it’s a genuinely happy laugh. He likes Lola, he really does. Jay really went and found someone that fit perfectly within their dynamic, and he loves him for that, because nothing would be more awkward than Ben not liking Jay’s girlfriend, or her not liking Ben. But Ben can see that Jay really likes Lola - really likes her - and they’re so good for each other. It’s obvious to see.
“That’d be impossible.” She berates, rolling her eyes. “But I definitely know a few!”
She’s looking at Ben with those puppy dog eyes and Jay’s chuckling under his breath because he knows that Ben’s going to break any second now. “Oh my God!” She practically squeals. “We could go on double dates too!”
Ben’s eyes go wide at that, and Jay just about covers up the splutter of his pint behind a cough, but Ben sees right through him.
Lola looks at Jay, practically begging him for his help to get Ben onside. “Look Ben mate, I love you, yeah? We’re not asking you to marry the next person who walks through the door, but at least try. Just go on a few dates, find out what you like. You never know.”
Ben knows he’s being stupid. He knows that now’s the time he should probably try and go on a few dates here and there, and make an attempt at letting his wall come down and try to be happy. He knows that. It’s still scary though. Terrifying, in fact. He looks between Jay and Lola, and gives in, sighing. “Fine.” He exhales, and he barely has a chance to breathe before Lola’s practically leaping over the table to hug him half to death, squealing right in his ear.
When Lola finally peels herself off of Ben, and he rubs his face in hands, Lola speaks giddily. “I’ve got the perfect person, his name is Callum.”
This is happening.

I've been drawing Gladstone Gander for what's basically been a whole week straight. That plus the many @modmad comics I've read over and over rattling around in my brain got me thinking, and I came up with a fun au. Buckle up folks, this is a fun one.
(Season 1 spoilers ahead)
So in that one episode, Lena gets a diamond dagger to cut Scrooge's number one dime off the string around his neck. It can cut through anything. In this au, Lena grips it tightly and slashes at the ground. It cuts through the stone easily. More importantly it slices right through her shadow.
Without a host to cast her shadow, Magica's form starts to disintegrate. She has to find a new host and fast.
With no time to be picky, she latches onto the first person she comes across when she dashes out of the mansion. Her new host is Gladstone Gander.
She plans only to stick around long enough to stabilize, but she discovers she can't detach herself, much to the horror of both of them.
This is an awesome set up for character development, a redemption arc, and enemies to friends to significant others. They both live a lonely existence, and now they're forced to exist in close proximity.
Magica is all evil and maniacal, while Gladstone is very ready to be done with this. The dynamic is much like that one bagel vine. They'll slowly learn to coexist. Gladstone sets up some ground rules when they realize this is for the long haul.
At one point, Magica will see Gladstone's unstyled '87/ modmad Gladstone redesign hair and think it looks much better than his styled look. One day when he's getting ready, she mentions, "I don't get why you go through all that time and effort, just to end up looking like a stegosaurus." He can't unsee it.
That's all I've got for now. I drew out a comic idea for this earlier today. Who knows, I might post it when I'm done. For now, here's a sneak peak.

Kokichi, Kaede, Shuichi, and Kiibo X They/Them! Reader (Dream Soulmate AU!)
‘If it’s alright, how about a soulmate AU where the soulmates can occasionally meet in each other’s dreams, but can’t remember their soulmate’s identity when they wake up? w/ a curious, persistent, and thoughtful reader (they/them) and Kokichi(!!!), Kaede, Shuichi, and Kiibo please u///u thank you for all of your amazing work! ♡’
I am back from the dead. After three months of silence, I am back. I have a cosplay Tiktok now. Anyone want it? Story under the tag!
Kokichi
When in dreams with your soulmate, you know everything about them, but when you wake up, you have barely a hint
A voice, a scent, a first name if you’re extremely lucky
And for you...
You had that laugh
The laugh that this boy (it was a boy, right?) had that rang in your head everyday, awake or otherwise
You of course asked him a plethora of questions, but could never remember the answers
That didn’t stop you though, each night you fruitlessly searched
It haunted you, in a way
You had a small book younger you swore to fill with all of the things you could remember from those nights
Yet all you had written was ‘purple’ and ‘laugh’.
You asked all of your friends if they knew anyone with the two specific characteristics, but no one knew, or were too busy with their own hunts
You sat outside the small cafe, taking a sip of your cold drink to balance the warm day
This is where you sat when you thought, as no one approached you and that gave you time to think
And today you sat, book in hand to try and figure out the clues your brain has so helpfully left you
But the words seemed to be a mess of nothing mixed with more nothing
“For the last time I’m not getting you the unicorn drink.” A stern and possibly annoyed voice rang from inside the shop, radiating out of the open door
 “But I really want it!!”
“You got it last time and hated it.”
 “But I want it!”
‘Children’, you thought. ‘Never wanna be wrong.’
After what sounded like a little hushed arguing, you grateful for the litttle quiet, the two seemed to hash out a deal
 “Fine. Unicorn drink.”
“Knew you’d crack.” Followed by a distinct laugh
That child is a little- wait.
Quickly standing up, rattling the table a bit, you leaned into the doorway
A small teen balanced out next to a taller one, both donning grey and purple hair respectively-
 “Wait.”
You must’ve said that a little bit louder than expected as the few people in the shop looked your way
You kept your eyes on the short purple boy, until your eyes locked with his
And the memories suddenly came flooding back
All of the dreams you shared, the laughs, the arguments, the plans you two made for when you found each other, it all came forward
 “...it’s you..”
The boy’s surprised face, probably from seeing all of these memories as well, turned into a grin one could only describe as childish
“Shuichi!! My soulmate is right there! And they’re more attractive than Kaede!”
This earned the boy a shove, coincidentally in your direction
He stepped closer, a slightly more serious look on his face
“So, I’m Kokichi! Who are you, how are you, and what’s your blood type?”
 “Uh, Y/n L/n, I’m good, actually, and...b positive?”
The boy, Kokichi as it was, cracked a smile, looking slightly down at you
“Well, this should be an interesting development!”
 “What do you mean?”
The boy suddenly took your hand. With a smile Kokichi started to drag you off, leaving his friend behind
”we gotta go boast to Miu that I got a hot soulmate!”
 “W-What?!”
Kaede
Every since you started dreaming of your soulmate, everyone has noticed how refreshed you had been
Some people fought with their soulmates, earning them the feeling of nightmares or never sleeping when they wake up
And although you can’t exactly remember what happens in your dreams, you can tell how serene it is
Faint hints of vanilla and the sound of a piano being played, is what you would describe your dreams as
Everyone said you were lucky to have such dreams that refresh you each morning
But you secretly wished for a little more
People always believed the idea that the more outgoing your soulmate was, the more you could remember when you woke up
And you, you could only remember classical music
It didn’t bother you much, as you knew for sure you had a soulmate, and a possibly famous one, as your friends always teased you about
So as payback, you dragged them to every recital you could find in the area, forcing them to watch the pianist with you in hopes it was your soulmate
Yet you never found them, until you transferred schools
First day at hopes peak high-school, as a reserve course student
The uproar of bullying towards reserve students had died down before you transferred, luckily, but some still picked on the kids who got in without a talent
You had been amazed at all of the talented people in the school, gawking at all of their talents whenever they showed off for you
You were especially interested in all of the musical talents, as your soulmate had planted an appreciation for music in you
When you heard of an ultimate musician, you had a small thought wondering if she might be your soulmate, but that idea was quickly tossed when you saw how intense her personality was
You would definitely have remembered that
When you met her, you told her of your situation in passing, and your soulmate troubles seemed to stick in her mind
“I know every musical talent there is here! I can totally hook up my bud with a cute player!”
She began introducing you to every person who’s talent had to do with music, yet none seemed to be a match
It had turned to months of being at the school with no luck
‘Maybe my soulmate is just a normal person with a knack for piano...’ you thought as you laid on one of the benches in the school garden, arm over your eyes to block the sun
You let your mind wander, listening to the noises of nature, the water from the nearby fountain, and the kids chatting as they walked past
You were almost asleep when you heard it
A soft humming voice, humming a small tune that sounded extremely familiar
Quickly moving your arm from your face, you sat up to see a blonde walking past, slightly swaying her head to the beat of the humming
“H-hey!”
You jumped up and grabbed her shoulder, the girl turning around surprised
“Yes?”
“I just wanted to know...what’s the name of the song you’re humming?”
“Oh, it’s Minuet in F Major!” The girl said with a slight smile
Finally putting a name to the song you’ve heard so much in your dreams, you smiled back before continuing
“So, uh, this might sound weird, but I hear that song in my dreams a LOT, so I was wondering if you played piano or something?”
She gave a gasp before her eyes lit up
“I do, and I play this in my dreams for my soulmate!” She stuck out her hand. “I’m Kaede Akamatsu, Ultimate Pianist!”
Taking her hand, you smiled at her once more. “I’m so glad to finally meet you!”
“So am I! What’s your name?”
“Y/n”
“That’s a nice name!”
“Thank you! I’ve actually been looking for my soulmate since I came to this school, but none of the other talents have been a match”
“What bad timing!” She said with a laugh. “I’ve been out of country for the last few months playing in a championship!”
Kaede grabbed your hand, cupping it into hers
“I’m so glad I finally get to meet you, Y/n! My friends are gonna be so excited to meet you!”
As she began to drag you away you smiled at her, knowing how serene your life was going to be from now on, awake or not.
Shuichi
You had a great memory
You remembered a lot of things about your soulmate, their black hair, their strange hobbies, and the stories of their friends
Yet you could not find them /anywhere/
You first started searching for just people with black hair that matched your age, but that quickly turned out to be impossible
So you started looking for people with his hobbies, that many teens couldn’t be interested in murders, or mysteries, right?
Wrong
So you began to look for people who were possibly his friends, but that was near impossible as well, seeming as they didn’t go to your school and you couldn’t wander onto another campus
You closed the book you wrote all of your clues in, the entire thing filled with scribbles and ink smudges, writing and clues only you could understand
You were walking home from school that day, a few textbooks as well as your notebook being carried in your arms as your bag was already full from the other assignments given to you
You looked at your watch, realizing the time you spent searching for your soulmate after class meant you had minutes to reach your bus
Picking up speed, you began to run, trying to get to the bus stop in time, paying attention to only your pace and the seconds ticking by
Running past a small patch of construction, you didn’t notice the patch of newly broken sidewalk, tripping on a larger piece of cement
Preparing to hit the dirt you braved yourself, closing your eyes
But you fell into something on the way down, taking it with you
Opening your eyes, you saw a boy on the ground next to you, a schoolboy by the looks of all of the books scattered along yours
“Omigosh, I’m so sorry!” You began scrambling to pick up your things
Adjusting his collar, the boy helped you as well as picked up his
“It’s completely fine,” he gave you a smile but you didn’t see it as you were looking for your journal
Spotting it you picked it up, managing all of your books into a carry-able pile
“Do you need any help? I’m shui-“
“I got it, but thank you! I have to run now!”
Giving him a small smile you began to run again, leaving the boy and his belongings behind
You had managed to catch your bus and your breath, and soon got home
Dropping your books onto your desk, you let out a sigh or relief as your arms stretched, joints popping slightly from being in the position for so long
Having nothing to do, you decided to look through your journal again, hoping that maybe you could piece something together
Picking it up you laid down and opened it, ready to decipher your cryptic dreams
But this wasn’t your handwriting
Scanning the pages, you analyzed the small and neat handwriting
‘Curious, rambles a bit’ ‘lots of jokes, I think (your hair color) hair?’ ‘Bubbly, but also dark at moments’ ‘I can’t find them, so I don’t think they go to Hopes Peak with me’
You kept looking at the book, wondering what had happened to it. Did you accidentally grab his? What were the odds that he was your soulmate, and had the same exact journal, for the same exact reason?
Extremely improbable, but by the looks of what was in your hands, completely possible
You continued reading the book, searching for clues to his identity
‘Kaito said that I should just remember harder. He doesn’t get that that doesn’t work because he’s known his soulmate since before dreaming of them’
A kaito...wait you’ve heard this name somewhere
Opening your phone you googled the name Kaito, paired with Hopes Peak
You found headline after headline about the famed teen who is becoming the youngest astronaut in history
Scrolling through some articles on the page, you passed one that was headed with a group picture, labeled as Kaito and his friends
And in that photo, albeit somewhat in the corner, was the boy you ran into earlier
Solidifying where the boy went, as well as his friend group, you closed the book and left your home, looking up the address for the boys school
By the time you got there, classes had ended for the day, kids swarming to go home or meet up with friends
You sat in the front of the school for a few minutes until you saw a familiar head of spiky purple hair
“Hey!” You ran towards him, stopping in front of him. “Sorry, are you Kaito?”
“Yeah dude!” He threw a thumbs up, winking at you. “Is there anything you need?”
“Well um, I ran into a kid- I think he’s your friend? He wears the grey suit and hat?”
“Yeah, that’s Shuichi! I was just about to meet up with him. Whadya need?”
“Shuichi...” you finally put a name to the boy. “Well...! I found his notebook and, I think he might be my soulmate?” You confessed, the last part of your sentence sped up in uncertainty
At this, Kaito lit up, grabbing your arm
“As a matter of fact, you are strangely similar to what he describes in his dreams! Cmon, I’ll take you to him!”
Before you could protest he dragged you off into town
He pulled you to the shopping district, entering into a small cafe close to where you and Shuichi first met
You eyed the patrons, finding the boy immediately in the back
“Shuichi!” Kaito boomed, causing you to wince as he dragged you to the table he occupied
“Ah-kaito! Who uh, did you bring?”
“This is...uh...”
“Y/n...”
“Y/n!” Kaito slapped you on the back. “They’re your soulmate!”
Both of you faltered at the sudden statement, looking at each other with surprise in your eyes
“My...soulmate?” The boy in front of you finally said before pulling out a notebook from his book bag
“So this must be yours?” Shuichi handed you the book, and you recognized it as your own journal
“Yes!” You flipped through it, glad to see it unharmed. “So, this one must be yours?”
You returned his identical journal, not missing the flash of joy in his eyes as he grazed his fingertips on the spine “oh, thank you!”
You two stared at each other for a moment, taking in the idea of finally finding your soulmate when a hand was clasped on both of your shoulders
“So!” Boomed Kaito. “Are you two going to have a date now or what?”
“Uh, yeah...yeah!” Shuichi spoke, softly grabbing your empty hand. “I want to learn more about the one I’m going to spend the rest of my life with.”
The soft smile he flashed caused your heart to skip a beat. “Yeah...I’d love that.”
Kiibo
Everyone rumors of the very unlucky few who don’t meet their soulmates in their dreams
Some say they’re doomed for a life of loneliness, while others hypothesize that they will be matched with another dreamless person
Yet these people were rare, almost never heard of, so no one worried
But when you realized you never once glimpsed a potential soulmate in your dreams, you panicked
Was it just a late start? Was your soulmate dead? Were you defective?
You kept your worries to yourself, opting to tell people vague answers when asked about your dreams
You didn’t want to be pitied, you wanted to feel loved
You knew it was fruitless, but you knew that some people who were known to not have dreams of their soulmates found them anyways, but that was just a rumor
Still, the idea that possibly, just possibly, you could figure out someone is your soulmate without a dream kept hope in your soul
You happened to find a few people who were dreamless, who told you that when they found their soulmates, it was a feeling rather than a vision
With this hope in your heart, you continued your life, everyday praying that a new encounter would lead to that one person meant for you
And while it never did, you kept your head high
Until your little brothers drone broke while he was playing with it in the backyard, accidentally flying it into a tree and snapping some wiring in it
our parent had asked you to take it to a local repair shop to see if I was worth it to repair it instead of just buying another one
So you went, begrudgingly, to a downtown store that had confirmed over a phone call that they could fix the problem
When you got there however, you noticed smoke coming out of the building, and gasped at the idea of a fire happening
However, there were no flames in sight, nor panicking citizens or firemen
 Cautiously, you walked in
Inside was a worker, the one you spoke to on the phone, you assumed
 And with him was a...boy?
Smoke was pouring from the boys arm, as well as sporadic sparks here and there
The chime of the door opening must’ve alerted the two, as they turned to look at the new arrival
“You must’ve called about the drone,” the worker said with a small smile, eyeing the toy in your hands. “I’ll be right with you after helping this gentleman”
However, his words fell on deaf ears as you stared at the smoking customer, who stared back in return
Your vision felt blurry, yet somehow crystal clear
A sense of weightlessness washed over you as the boys eyes lit up, quite literally
And then his arm gave a small burst of sparks that caught into a small fire
The worker rushed to put out the fire on the teens arm as you absentmindedly walked over to him
 “Did you...feel that?”
“I think so,” the boy said nervously, eyes shifting around your figure. “I’ve never felt an emotion like that before. Or an emotion in general.”
You gave a small giggle, causing the boy to again physically light up at your reaction, and again spark his arm
“Oh, I’m sorry!” You said, cheeks reddening. “It’s just...”
 “I’m your soulmate.”
Taken aback by what the boy so calmly said, you gave him a bewildered look
“I mean,” the boy started again, as the worker tried to quickly fix his arm, probably in fear of his workshop burning down. “I just have a lot of data on how dreamless people find their soulmates, since technically I can’t dream...”
It made sense, his train of thought. As you looked over it was easy to tell he wasn’t really human. It didn’t freak you out however, as the feeling of simply finding the one for you made all of the worries in the back of your mind go away
The atmosphere settled into an awkward silence as you stared at each other, until the worker closed the boys arm with a clang
“There, done! Now please, leave before my shop burns down...”
He turned to leave, but turned back to you
He spit a piece of paper from his mouth, and you noticed it had a phone number on it
“Call me sometime, I am quite literally my own phone so I won’t miss it.”
You gave another small laugh before pocketing the slip of paper
 “Thank you, uh...”
 “Kiibo.”
 “Thank you, Kiibo”
I will probably disappear for another 3 months, so nag me to write!

Time spent together
Just a bunch of 3am coffee-induced Litpollo fics (they’re all related)
Part 1
College AU
Lit (Lityerses. Poor boy) is staring at Apollo, the tall, tan, lean but muscular, paragon of beauty with the most beautifully sculpted face I’ve ever seen (And believe me I’ve seen plenty), who’s currently shooting hoops in the basketball court. Off to the side, giving him pointers he does not need, is the smart-ass, Annabeth Chase. All right! Maybe I’m being a little harsh, but I’m really only here to talk about Lit and Apollo.
Oh look! Apollo’s attempting a backward jump shot.
Whatever. I’m sure he succeeds. The boy just cannot miss.
Let’s get back to Lit, shall we?
Of course. OF COURSE the angsty gay boy, with absolutely no social skills, falls for the gorgeous jock with a reputation for dazzling smiles, and leaving behind a trail of broken hearts.
May they can both bond over having the two most ridiculous names on campus.
If only I could tell Lit he looks ridiculous with his jaw hanging open like that. If only I could tell him that his being distracted by Apollo has put him in the path of that idiot Percy and his skateboard. Alas, I am only the narrator.
Percy crashes right into Lit, and they both tumble onto the ground like the pin-heads they are.
At least that caught the attention of the two blondes that caused this. They both jog over, Apollo letting out a short bark of laughter and Annabeth looking slightly concerned.
“Y’all okay?” the boy asks, standing over the two dark-haired dummies, shining like an angel and looking more picturesque than ever with the sun behind him.
“I- uh- Yeah”, Lit sputters. Of course he sputters. It’s quite understandable, honestly. At least he accepts the thinly veined, corded arm Apollo’s graciously reached out toward him.
“Percy! How many times have I told you to please watch where you’re going?” Annabeth asks exasperatedly. Percy does have quite a hit list.
“How can I look at anything but you, when you make it a point to look as gorgeous as that”, he says cheesily, gesturing up at her from the ground.
That draws a reluctant grin out of the girl.
“Oh shut up Perce!” she say, then turns to Lit, NOT graciously reaching an arm out to Percy.
“Sorry about that. My boyfriend’s a ditz”
“Yeah sorry”, Percy says standing up and grinning, “My girlfriend’s way to distracting for me not to be”.
I’m gonna throw up. Or at least I would, if I had a physical body.
“You are okay though, right?” Percy says to poor Lit, who’s been subjected to this disgusting gooeyness.
“Oh. Yeah yeah”, He says, now brushing gravel off his pants, “All good here”.
Annabeth mumbles something to Percy about getting late to class and they rush off. I really couldn’t care less.
Except.
This leaves Lit alone with Apollo.
Finally. They need to start talking. Like NOW. I can’t handle them throwing more furtive glances toward each other, and neither of the oblivious oglers picking up on any of it. IT’S BEEN TORTURE. (I should know. I’ve been tortured before.
“Oh! But how, Great narrator?!” you ask, “If you have no body?”
Well if you had any idea of the rules of etiquette, you’d know that that’s an incredibly rude question to ask. Therefore, we will be moving on)
Oh My God (not that I have one)! They’re talking! Now look what you’ve made me do. I’ve missed part of their conversation!
“Of course I like literature”, Lit says with a scoff, as if it’s obvious.
“All right all right”, Apollo relents, and then after a pause, “Can I walk you to class at least?”
“Oh” Is all the Lit the love-struck fool can say.
“Oh come on”, the golden boy say, grabbing Lit by the arm and hauling him in the direction of the west wing.
“Wait dumbass. I gotta get my books first!” he says pulling away from Apollo.
He runs a hand through his curls, and a blush creeps up Apollo’s slender neck. Of course, Lit doesn’t notice. It’s like they’re trying not to see the tell-tale signs of fist love!
“Just wait here a second, and I’ll fetch them”, Lit says and dashes away without waiting for a response.
Apollo’s hands find their way into his pockets, as he schools his face into bearing a nonchalant expression. Oy.
There’s students milling about, gossiping and trading notes. It’s a fine summer morning. The wind is whistling through the big birch tree, and blowing through the hair of the two girls kissing under it. Oh look! There’s a lone grasshopper…
Well this is boring. How do other narrators do it? Where on Earth is Lit?!
Ah finally. Here he comes, three large books in his arms. The collar of his shirt is wet, and his face looks considerably less splotchy. Well that explains why he took so long.
“Three books? For English lit?” Apollo asks, his arms completely devoid of books, or any other classroom material.
“I get bored”, Lit shrugs as if that explains everything.
So English lit must’ve been what they were discussing before. Unless they were exchanging famous quotes of love and desire from popular classics, which I highly doubt, that was a boring fist conversation.
Ah well. They can make up for it later.
Our journey through the green and into the classroom is entirely uneventful. I would’ve thought Apollo, being the confident social butterfly he is, would have at least struck up a conversation with Lit, but apparently feelings get in the way of such things.
How tiresome.
“Settle down. Settle down”, the woman at the front of the class says, sharply rapping her knuckles against the desk. Her name escapes me…
Anyway, Lit and Apollo make their way to seats as far away from each other as they can manage, both looking slightly disappointed when the other doesn’t stop them. Dorks.
“Now as I mentioned last week, I will be assigning each of you a project partner. I expect you to put in equal effort and come up with creative and suitably appropriate papers”, Ms. Teach says, picking up a list of names. No, that’s not her real name. I wish it was. It would’ve been suitably appropriate.
She rattles off some names. Someone complains. She patiently listens to their complaint and comes back with a refusal. The student angrily flops into his seat, waking up the peacefully snoring person beside him. They glare at him, then at the class and Ms. Rap-knuckles. No one pays them any mind.
Lit listens intently and Apollo pretends not to. There’s a bee merrily buzzing around the classroom. It bangs against a window, then bangs itself against the window again. Interesting. I think I need coffee. I can’t drink any but it sure does smell good…
“Apollo and Lityerses”.
Oh. Now this is a great turn of events!
“Seems fitting”, Ms. Good-at-student-pairing says, with a slight smirk.
Lit looks surprised and angry all at once, his face flushed. Apollo looks like he’s trying really hard not to care, but his mouth is threatening to betray him and reveal his, already quite clear, happiness.
The teacher continues to pair off students, as Lit stares furiously at his book, as if he’s trying to ignite the pages. Apollo looks at his nails, then at Lit, then back at his nails.
A half hour later the bell, blessedly, rings. Lit’s hurriedly making his way to the door.
But why?? He’s going to have to spend time with Apollo anyway!
Oh good, Apollo’s caught his arm.
“Hey we should talk about the project”, he says.
“What’s there to talk about?” Lit replies.
Um… is his crush’s presence causing his brain to malfunction?? I wouldn’t really be surprised if that were the case, consider that his crush is the magnificent Apollo.
“You know… Where we’re gonna do the project, what topic we’re going to pick, et cetera”, the blond says slowly, as if he’s worried about the same thing.
“It’s fine. You don’t have to worry about it. You go shoot hopes, or dazzle people, or whatever it is you do, and I’ll finish the project. I’m not great at working with people anyway. You’ll get your credit”.
Apollo looks high-key offended for a second, but then laughs.
“Is that all you think of me Lit?” he says, “That I’m just some dumb blond jock trope?”
“‘Mythological retellings’ is one of my favorite topics to read about, so that’s the one we’re choosing for our project”, Apollo continues decidedly.
“What? You don’t get to pick the topic by yourself”, Lit snaps at him.
“Why not? What’s wrong with it? Too challenging for you?” Apollo says, smirk gracing his perfect lips.
Everybody here who knows Lit knows he can’t help but rise to a challenge. Now the topic’s practically set in stone.
“Of course not.” Lit says, resentful but stubborn, “Fine then. When do we begin?”
Apollo smiles wide this time, and I can see the blush creeping up Lit’s neck.
“Meet me at the coffee shop just off campus. 3p.m. Right after class”.

Carmivy headcanons I have rattling around my head like a skittle in a box
(I'm talking more about the 90's version but it's up to anyone's interpretation)
Their primary form of intimacy is touch so cue back hugs, slow dancing, and hand holds galore.
This also includes bathing eachother (/ns)
Carm loves 80's music that much is canon BUT spanish music especially old school boléros hold a special place in her heart
Trio los panchos, la lupe, chavela vargas, eydie gorme, and celia cruz are some of her favorite artists
They are bound to be playing in the background often and Carm will put it on as shes cooking
This leads to some nice slow dances as the food cooks
Carmen often sings along (belts but no one would believe you) or hums
Ives does too but she'd rather hum because she has a terrible accent and cannot pronounce spanish words
They are very romantic and love doing things spontaneously so expect random gifts and dates
One particular date is a late night picnic date on the beach that was probably planned by Ivy and is complete with rose petals leading to a candle lit cabana filled with pillows and a tub of champagne and/or wine with soft mood music playing in the background
Carmen steals things and gifts them to Ivy often. Ivy pretends she hates that carmen is stealing and for her but in reality, she cherishes every single item
Ivy thinks shes a good actress and plays it off but Carm knows she loves them anyway
They travel often just to do it. Ivy didnt get to see the sights chasing Carm down and Carm happily obliges
Totally the Mob boss/ Police comissioner Au
Or even the rich gay aunts archetype
Ivy takes up woodworking and builds most if not all of their furnature
They didn't start dating right away OR they were on and off for a while before retiring together entirely
I imagine it may have started off in a night of passion (cOUgH cOUGh *one night stand mayhaps?* ) a few years after Ivy retired from ACME BUT I love the idea my fave fic presented where Carm knows she wants to persue a relationship and that Ivy wants something as well but cant bc of her moral code (brain v heart kind of thing)*
They dont have a formal wedding if they decide to get married at all. It's off the books with the promise of being together with their own paper rings rather than a big ceremony. At least not in the beginning
Think of the marriage in The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
Zack was kinda mad he wasn't invited but he is happy for them either way
Now lets say they do want an official wedding ceremony- they have a small event (under fake names ofc) but its way down the line after their own little elopement.
Zack gets to be the "bride's best man"
I dont see them with kids but I can imagine if they did they would have maybe 3 they've adopted however it's by the time both of them are retired
Ivy's last name is o'connor. I chose it bc I hc Ives as irish and o'connor means patron of warriors which I think fits her
Retired carmen becomes a novelist under the pseudonym Isabela o'conner OR Isabela Flynn bc its her brand (flynn, irish surname bc of ivy, meaning bright red) and donates to various charities including one for orphans
They fund a museum
They have a few houses but their favorite is the beach side house in Venice
Ivy goes back to school. Yes, she prefers boots on the ground field work but I think she would enjoy a distraction from the mundane. She hates the class work- she was always the muscle unlike zack- but shes not stupid and wants to try something new
They have a black cat named carmine or sappho and a mastiff laconian named Peritas after Alexander the great's very own. Carm loves cats and has one named carmine in canon so it's only right plus I see Ivy as a dog person
They are the type to do something extravagant and celebrate the little things. They have many small celebrations for the randomest and most sentimental reasons
Zack finds out they were dating first and hid it extremely well (to Ivy's shock). Everyone finds out because Ivy acts like the lovestruck fool she is
Zack finds out immediately through one wiley joke Ivy blushed hard at and refused ardently. He doesn't let her live it down
Every year carm insists on sending holiday/birthday cards to the people they know. Ivy has no idea why but she does it anyway
*The fic I'm talking about is "The Art of Doubt" on ao3, I highly recommend it.

I’m still busy working on my gift for this year’s Code: Swap, but once I’m done with it you better believe I’m gonna start working on this idea for a destiny au for Code Lyoko that’s been rattling around my brain for the last month. So far I’ve got -
Blade Dancer! Hunter Ulrich (Awoken)
Revenant! Hunter Yumi (Human)
Well of Radiance! Warlock Aelita (Awoken)
Defender! Titan Odd (Human)
Chaos reach! Warlock Jeremy (Exo, designation - Jeremy-4)
Other random little plot points include
- Aelita’s ghost, Pück, was erased from time by Aetheon within the Vault of Glass, but Aelita’s innate connection to the Traveler’s light as a guardian saved her from suffering the same fate despite Pück’s demise.
- Jeremy is the youngest member of Fireteam Lyoko, having only been recently resurrected within the game’s current timeline. The eldest two are Yumi and Ulrich, both of whom were alive and active during the Dark Ages.
- Ulrich is one of the few remaining Blade Dancer hunters remaining after the Red War. Most others tried and failed to defend the Last City, being cut down by Cabal after having their connection to the light stolen from them.
- Yumi being a Revenant Hunter, that being a guardian capable of wielding the darkness, is a constant point of contention between Jeremy’s ghost and many other guardians in The Tower. They view Yumi as being sick or infected by the Dark, while the gang do their best to defend her and her worthiness as a guardian.
- Speaking of Ghosts, Jeremy’s is named Jim (And yeah, I literally just turned Jim into a Ghost bc I love the friendship between him and Jeremy in the show), Yumi’s is named Hoori, Odd’s is named Lilac Bell, and Ulrich’s is Karambit.
- And yeah, they’re all members of a team called Fireteam Lyoko.
- William was a member too, but went missing after encountering the Darkness on Europa shortly before Jeremy was resurrected and joined the team. He fell to temptation and hasn’t been seen by the gang since.
- Sissie is a warlock and aspiring member of the Praxic Order, a group of warlocks hellbent on the destruction and defeat of the darkness. She has an intense dislike for Yumi and her propensity for utilizing the darkness, and views the entire team with suspicion as a result. She’s not as ruthless as Aunor, but still believes them to a threat to guardian activity within the entire system of Sol.
- Finally, Sam is a Hunter that used to be a close friend of Odd’s, until he left the Last City’s Pilgrim Guard - a group charged with ushering new refugees to the Last City - in favor of joining Fireteam Lyoko. She was deeply hurt by this decision, even though he offered for her to join as well, but the entire situation resulted in her cutting ties with him and leaving the Last City.

No amount of time or research could ever unravel the mysteries of the world.
Why are the fate of the two people bounded by the words etched in their skin?
Why do these words only appear when one turns sixteen? And why sixteen?
There were so many questions but there were no answers.
Some gazed upon the heavens to find the lost meanings, while some dug for them in the earth beneath.
All these for the mystery etched in their skin.
But for you, you sought the answer through the seemingly endless scroll through forums on your screen.
Digitized words painting enthralling stories of how these sacred marks — dubbed as Soulwords by the millions across the blogs, forums, the news articles — on their skin led to happy endings, love, and happiness.
The common retelling of their stories mentioned the ‘unexplainable rush of warmth’, ‘the boost of bliss and spiritual strength’, and ‘the sense of wholeness’ they thrived upon finally meeting their fated partners.
Many who visited them gushed about their own, and those who haven’t, were longing and full of anticipation.
But not you.
You were shaking with anxiety and...desperation for a sign of hope.
Tumblr media
“You’re beautiful.”
—ever since he turned sixteen and woke up to find these two words etched into the skin on his right, curving around his inner wrist like a permanent bracelet, he had waited.
Eagerness and suspense brimmed and shook inside him for the day to come with an intensity that could match a child’s, itching to open their Christmas presents or a puppy’s, sitting by the door with a wagging tail.
He hasn't met them, but he was already in love.
He kept his hands lonely for them.
His lips had never tasted the sweetness of a kiss for them.
It didn’t even matter how long it took.
Waiting was what he wanted to do because his every firsts belonged to them.
Even if it meant watching his friends around him, one after another, find their fated ones through their three-years long of hero education at the U.A. High.
He’d seen the uplifting effect the destined bonds had on them, even for Bakugou — the subtle spring in his usually hefty steps and the blissful contentment behind his scowling faces was obvious to those who had fought and struggled alongside him in the three years.
Even for someone as optimistic as himself, Kirishima often found himself filled with envy and doubts.
Still, he could never be tempted to let anyone else steal his firsts before he met them.
Every waking moment started with his hopes of hearing their first words. That she or even he would be somewhere out there, beyond his front door he was about to venture out from, arranged by fate to finally meet him.
Fleeting daydreams about how he could finally hold them in his arms and give them all his love. Even thoughts of doing things as simple as grocery shopping and taking naps together filled him with so much bubbling warmth.
Birthdays after birthdays, he wished before dancing flames, for the arrival of the fateful day awaiting them to come quicker.
Along with the wish for their safety and health, he never failed to add a silent promise to become a strong hero that could protect them.
Tumblr media
“I did it.”
A bashful mumble turned his head away, the razored friendly grin he flashed at the passing giddy gushes of ‘Red Riot’ falling away.
Huh?
His puzzled eyes landed on Bakugou who wasn’t as enthusiastic about the gasps and admiring gazes on them.
Kirishima blinked. Once, twice. “Did what?”
“Were you even listening, shitty hair?” Bakugou’s impatience ripped through his words and faded with a sigh, “I said I proposed.”
His reminder nudged Kirishima in the direction of the phone conversation they had three days ago.
Understanding dawned upon him as soon as he pieced things together.
“....She said yes, right?”
The same razored grin he flashed to the faces on the boulevard they left behind brightened his face once more as his eyes danced excitedly.
“Of course, she said yes,” Bakugou grunted, fighting against the edges of his lips that was threatening to break a smile across his face. “We’re meant to happen after all.”
There was a short pause between them as the brightness in Kirishima’s eyes faltered slightly.
“You’re lucky, Bakugou.”
Kirishima felt the exhilaration he had for his best friend sink with a rising ache in his chest at the reminder.
He knew Bakugou didn’t mean any harm when he said what he said. He could tell it was out of happiness.
“I’m already twenty-four like you, yet I’m not even anywhere close.”

Under the cloudy sky, the dainty café huddled humbly among the huge city buildings, while hundreds of people rushed by it outside on the crowded street.
Half a dozen customers glanced up as the door swung open, announced by a rush of cold wind. Unlike the outside, the interior of the café was warm and cheery, with bright lights and colorful walls.
The customers returned to their conversations as the door swung closed behind the new entrant and the cold breeze was forgotten.
Your shoulders rose and fell as you breathed in the aromatic grounded scent of coffee lingering thickly in the cafe.
Even from the door, the stranger beside your best friend caught your eyes and you couldn’t help the bitter pinch of envy that sunk with your heavy heart.
Your brain instantly connected the dots as your legs brought you over to your friends at your usual corner.
Now, that explained the enthusiasm that seemed to leak through your screen when your phone pinged with a new text from her.
It was her turn.
You didn’t even need to hear the exuberance bouncing off your best friend’s voice when she introduced him to you, to know that those stories you’d read online were true.
Just like what you’d read on the forum, the abundance of happiness seemed to radiate off them; you could feel it the moment you slipped into the seat across them.
You were happy for her, really.
The blissful glow across you was practically tangible enough to be seen from the way their eyes smiled along with their lips.
And you forced yourself to smile too — like how you have always tried for your friends before her.
But the harsh whispers reminding you of your own reality just wouldn’t let you.
Being your best friend who knew where your heart dwelled, she noticed.
“Believe in yours, (Name),” The dull gloom glazed over your eyes disappeared at a snap in time for you to watch your best friend's hand leave his.
“Everyone has met their happy endings and I know you are bound to meet yours too soon.” Her hand slid across the table to squeeze yours. “Stop overthinking, okay?”
You wished you could.
“Don’t worry about me, Yui,” The brightest smile you could muster swept over your face. “We should totally start planning for our double dates once I meet mine!”
Her eyes lit up, the concern in them washed away and was replaced by the enthusiasm you knew so well.
Exactly the way it was, when you felt it with her back then.
Before your sixteen birthdays, the one thing you two always look forward to was double dates once you've met your fated ones. Then, you two had a notebook filled with giddy doodles of words you thought might turn up on your wrists.
But only hers was anything close to them.
Her comforting words...you wanted to cling onto them so badly. You wanted to believe in them.
You longed to feel the same kind of anticipation others felt waiting for their fated ones. And not dread and fear.
You tore your eyes away from the couple before you with a quiet pain and slipped a glance down to your wrist.
Jumping from forums to forums, glimpses of happy endings were what you’ve been desperately searching for.
For a hint of hope for the ominous words on your skin that spelled your fate.
“Don’t die on me— please.”
Tumblr media
Her eyes roamed the chaotic scene before her.
The flashing red atop ambulances, the metal rattling of the wheels under stretchers delivering casualties and some were like her, crying helplessly.
The reassuring squeeze around her hand and his words meant to comfort her did nothing to stop the sobs retching from her.
The waves of angry, gray clouds rolling menacingly in the vast overcast sky over them made her feel so tiny.
“...Someone, please help her.” Her cracking voice could barely rise above the urgent cacophony around her as she begged, her mascara running down her cheeks with her tears.
A sight that she wouldn’t allow anyone to see if (Name) wasn’t buried somewhere under the rubble of what used to be the cafe they were sitting in.
“My best friend…” She cried, pleading left and right as she tried to find someone who could do something. Anything.
“Please—”
She knew it was futile for any civilians here, but she had to try.
“—she’s still in there…!”
Where were the Pro-Heroes?
(Name) may not be her fated one, but she was everything to her. A girl she laughed and cried with...She couldn’t lose her.
Hope widened her eyes as she spotted a distant recognizable figure that had just stepped into the chaos, and rushed forward.
“...Red Riot!”
Tumblr media
You didn’t know how it happened, but you knew it happened too fast.
One moment you were staring back at your reflection in the bathroom.
The next moment you were lying on your back, eyes locked onto the hovering block of concrete that could have crushed you if not for the jagged crimson-stained one impaling your stomach.
The sticky warmth on the side of your heads and the throbbing that came along with it told you were bleeding from the head as well.
Even with you floating in and out of consciousness, you could feel the harsh ripple of the damages done to your body, spreading across you like hungry wildfire.
Every breath you tried to take into your lungs was accompanied by shards of stabbing pain.
All these pointed to one path you were heading to, but you clung onto the words on your wrist.
Those words...you haven’t heard them.
So you weren’t going to die yet right?
For once in your life, ever since those inscriptions appeared on your skin, hope bloomed across your chest as you desperately held onto them like they were your lifeline.
You will live.
You will survive this.
And die as you were meant to when time comes.
—you told yourself, repeating them in your muddled head like a mantra.
Then while fighting hard against the darkness dimming around your vision and reciting encouraging words in your head, the block over you was suddenly lifted off.
The burst of light that fell onto you made you wince instantly, your eyes squinting weakly against stark brightness that greeted you.
You heard or more than saw the block being shoved away and what towered over you now was a magnificent figure of hope.
It was a breathtaking sight for someone who was about to be swallowed by the clutches of despair.
Like a reenacting scene of Altas who had finally pushed off the weight of the heavens off his shoulders, that never came to be.
Standing tall and sturdy against the light behind him, the clad of strong red on him made you want to reach out to him so much.
It was like he was life itself, blazing gloriously in the light from the way the red on him seemed to be leaping off him.
Amongst the darkness clouding your vision from the corners, you watched him curl down into you, drawing closer with concern in those eyes.
You couldn’t help the words you uttered through your parched lips.
“....You’re beautiful.”
You saw him freeze, but you didn’t think much of it because you were still marvelling at the sight before you — he was indeed beautiful.
“No, no…”
You were too weak to notice the painful realization distorting his face or hear the panic he muttered under his gasping breath.
”...not like this.”
There was a starburst of pain amidst the red in his trembling gaze as Kirishima lowered himself beside your tattered body.
Red.
They were everywhere on you. Leaking from everywhere they could, seeping out along with the strength in your half-lidded gaze.
He knew what was coming. He knew there was no way you could survive this.
But it didn’t mean he was ready to accept the reality stained crimson red before him.
Kirishima searched around him, eyes desperately looking for someone…
Recovery Girl, a paramedic, a doctor...anyone that wasn’t as helpless as him.
You couldn’t see him that clearly now that everything was dimmed, but you could sense the turmoil in the body beside yours.
“...It’s okay.” Your lips curled weakly with your attempt to comfort him.
“No, no...it’s not okay.” There was a crack in his voice that made you wonder how kind this stranger was to weep so hard for a person they didn’t even know.
“Not yet, you can’t just go like this. I’ve waited for so long...” A choked sob broke into his plea.
“...Don’t die on me— please.”
A limp gasp sifted through your lips at the rush of a strange, honey-rich warmth that immediately flared within you to his words.
You thought you heard him gasping with you when it happened.
It died quickly, fizzling out as quickly it came.
It was only for a second but it was enough for you to feel it in you, enveloping you like the embrace of a gentle sun.
Was that the ‘rush of warmth’ so many talked about?
…But at death’s door?
“So,” A wry smile climbed across your face as a humorless chuckle left you, “....we’ve finally met, huh.”
Whatever hope you held onto to keep your eyes open just minutes ago crumbled.
This was it, wasn’t it?
“I’m sorry,” Tears welled in your eyes. “...I’m so sorry it had to be like this, whoever you are.”
“I’m Red Riot.” You heard him frantically answer after you, “I mean, Kirishima Eijiro.”
His hands clamped over yours and you could only think of how warm they were, mustering the bit of strength you had left to give him a squeeze.
The Red Riot, huh?
Who would have thought…
Another wistful chuckle left you as you tasted the bitterness of regret and sadness.
Tears brimmed over your eyes at the withering light in your vision.
The darkness was callous.
“I’m (Name),” You knew you were close. “...And I’m glad I’ve finally met you, Kirishima-san.”
It was only interested in pulling you in.
Your loosening grip around his hands jostled him into panic.
...and it was the clear victor.
He screamed for you.
He screamed for someone to help.
He cursed at fate.
“Please don’t leave. I beg you, don’t go...I love you.” — was the last you heard before darkness finally took you.
.
.
.
Yui was wrong; not everyone was bound to meet their happy ending.
Because you didn’t.
...And neither did he.

The Stars Need a Tale
Since 2021 wants to be a jerk not even a week in I’m dropping this now.
A Lukadrien Pirate AU that has very strong Pirates of the Caribbean vibes in the first chapter. I did not realize how similar it was until I already finished it. I have been sitting on this WIP forever and now feels like a good time to post it.
Read on AO3
---
Give me a shilling and I’ll give you a song
My cup’s in need of filling and the night is long
I do not know where we’ll sail
I do not know where we’ll roam
But the stars need a tale
And I will sing one for foam
“Boy!” A hoarse and battered voice snapped at Adrien. The young stable hand immediately clammed up, embarrassed at being overheard. The old coachman hobbled into the stable with a pitchfork in hand and a scowl etched into the deep lines of his face. “Stop singing them sea shanties! Don’t you know those songs are dangerous to be singing? You’ll bring a whole fleet of ne'er do wells and heathens down upon us!”
“Sorry Willard.” Adrien apologized. “It was stuck in my head.”
“Well, you’ll do well to get it out of your head!” The old man knocked the back of Adrien’s knees with the blunt of the pitchfork. “Where’d you even pick up a tune like that?”
“I was at the blacksmith picking up new horseshoes and the lads in there were singing it.” Adrien mumbled.
“Hmph,” Willard rested against the side of one of the stable doors. “I’m not surprised. Those lads don’t have more than a couple of nails for brains in their heads. Don’t they know the danger of singing songs like that?”
“I understand that it is in poor taste but I don’t think a shanty is going to bring pirates down on us, Willard.” Adrien led one of the mares out of her stall.
“Spoken like a young fool.” Willard grumbled, “Get the horses ready. The master and his family are leaving for the fort soon.”
“Yes, sir.” Adrien nodded, obedient. He knew better than to sing those kinds of songs, especially where Willard might hear. As much as Adrien hated pirates and disliked sailors in general he had to admit they made some catchy tunes.
He finished harnessing the horses and handed the reins over to Willard so he could go pick up the family. Adrien trailed after the coach on foot taking the time the walk gave him to look over the town. There was an advantage to be working for one of the wealthiest families on the island and that was the view. The hill the Graham de Vanily’s estate resided on was up high above the bustle of the town. One could see everything from up there. To the north was the military fort, south was the farms, and east laid the village and the port. Watching the sun rise over the ocean horizon was one of Adrien’s favorite things to do.
The song from before wormed its way into Adrien’s thoughts again but he contented himself with only humming it this time. When he got to the front of the mansion he saw the Graham de Vanily family exiting the home and climbing into the coach.
The youngest of the family turned and saw Adrien. He raised his hand in greeting. “Adrien! Good morning!”
“Good morning, mister de Vanily.” Adrien sped up his pace a little to catch up.
“How many times do I have to tell you to call me Felix?” The nobleman’s son sighed.
“Apologies.” Adrien gave a respectful nod of his head, “But I fear the master and lady of the house disapprove of such familiarity.”
“Yes. See?” The lady, Amelie Graham de Vanily fanned herself from inside the coach, “The stable boy has some sense of propriety.”
“It is only, Adrien, my dear,” Master Frederick Graham de Vanily said to his wife. “The boys have known each other practically their entire lives. Let them be a little familiar.”
Growing up Adrien had spent most, if not his entire life, serving the Graham de Vanily family. His mother had been a maid in their household and at any opportunity that Adrien could make himself useful he was. Now with his mother long since passed Adrien was the estate’s stable hand. Before he was properly employed though it seemed his job was to be the friend of Felix since they were so close in age. Adrien being only two years older than him. As children they had often played a game where they would switch spots to see how long it would take everyone else to notice that it was not Felix but Adrien wearing his clothes. The boys did look eerily similar as children apart from their eyes. Adrien had green and Felix’s were a pale grey. Growing older their differences became more pronounced. Adrien was more tanned from working outside and his frame bulkier and stronger than Felix’s pale and lithe scholarly build.
“Hm,” Lady Amelie turned her face away with a small scowl. Adrien had no idea why she disliked him so but didn’t question it. Perhaps it was a difference of classes.
The family loaded into the coach and took off down the hill towards the fort. Adrien went about with the rest of his daily chores before taking a rest to eat. Climbing up into the branches of one of the trees dappled around the mansion his mind started to drift as it often did when he was left alone with his thoughts. Simple thoughts about whether it would rain tonight to more questions about if he was meant to do anything with his life outside of being a stable hand.
He liked his work and the de Vanily family always treated him well. Outside of his work though there wasn’t much of anything at all to his life. His mother died when he was fourteen due to a fever, his father had been a sailor that he never met, he had no siblings, outside of Felix he didn’t even have any friends his own age. Those that he was close to were better classified as acquaintances and co-workers. Hell, he was likely to call the horses he took care of as his friends more than any human being he’s ever interacted with.
It was lonely and more than once Adrien thought of abandoning everything and jumping the next ship out of town. Not that he ever would. To do that would be to leave behind everything he knew. Everything that was comfortable. He didn’t have the first clue as to where he would go or what he would do if he got out into the world. The closest he ever came to a plan was to sail to another town and hope he could get employed as a stable hand over there. It wasn’t exactly a grand change from where he was now.
The chimes of the bells alerted him to the growing lateness of the day and Adrien climbed down from his perch and got back to work. Thoughts of the wonders the world may hold locked up again as he went to meet the coach to take back the horses.
Felix and him talked for a bit before dinner about what they had been at the fort for. Some officer had received a promotion or possibly someone was being honored for the many years of service. Felix couldn’t remember and honestly didn’t care. It seemed they were attending more functions like that every week. Not that there was much else to do in their town.
The night rolled in and Adrien was asleep in the farm loft. He had his own bed in the servant’s quarters but preferred the hay and soft sound of the wind than he did to the snoring of the other servants. Even if it did get colder out in the barn.
BANG!
The noise was enough to startle Adrien awake. Had the barn door not been shut properly. He crawled from his nest of hay and blankets and saw that the door had remained shut. But then what had--
BANG!
Another destructive bang broke the silent air. It sounded like it was coming from the mansion. Quickly grabbing a pitchfork for defense Adrien dashed from the barn. Outside he could hear the commotion much clearer now. He could see it too. Down below at the village, the farms, and even the fort fires raged under the moonlit sky. Out across the horizon sat a large lone ship almost invisible against the inky black ocean.
Pirates? Here?
As stealthily and quickly as he could Adrien drew closer to the house. Sure enough there was a group of vagabonds trying to break down the front door. Thank goodness Master Frederick had insisted on thick solid wood doors. Hopefully these idiot pirates would keep up trying to get through the door before they realized they could more easily break in through one of the windows. Speaking of…
Adrien ran back towards the opposite end of the mansion and climbed up one of the trees closest to the mansion wall. He got to a window and frantically started knocking on it. “Felix!” He shouted in a whisper in hopes of not giving away his location to the pirates, “Felix, it’s Adrien! Open up!”
“Adrien?” Felix’s face emerged from behind the curtains. He quickly unlocked the window and pulled Adrien inside. “What’s going on out there?”
“Pirates.” The sharp sound of breaking glass let Adrien know that the pirates had come to realization about the windows at long last. “We need to get out of here.”
“How?”
“Back through the window. Climb down and make a run for the woods. The pirates shouldn’t go looking out there.” The sound of pounding feet got louder. The doorknob to the room started to shake and rattle as whoever it is tried to get inside.
A string of swears passed half muttered through Adrien’s thoughts. He braced himself against the door but the person on the other side would break through eventually. “Go!” Adrien urged, “Get out of here.”
“What about you?”
“I’ll be right behind you.” Adrien lied. There was no way he was going to be able to get out the window before the pirates knocked down the door.
“But--” Felix tried to argue.
“Go!” Adrien said more vehemently. Felix gave him one last look before he climbed out the window and onto the tree outside. At the same moment Adrien couldn’t hold the door any longer and the pirates burst in.
“Look at what we got here.” One of the dirty, scabby men aimed a sharp and freshly bloodied sword at him. “This your room, rich boy?”
Rich boy? They must think he’s one of the nobles.
“You’re trespassing.” Adrien tried to sound brave despite the clear threat to his life.
“Aye, that tends to happen in this line of work.” The pirate stepped closer. “What’s your name boy?”
“Adrien...Adrien Graham de Vanily.” He couldn’t be sure why he lied about his name. In the moment all he could think of was buying Felix, and hopefully his family, enough time to get to safety. If they thought he was one of the nobles they may not go out of their way looking for more.
“Ah, so this is your room.” More pirates filtered in grabbing anything that looked of worth and tossing everything that didn’t. “Some pretty trinkets in here but I think we’ve found one even more valuable than any shiny bauble. What say you, lads?”
The other pirates agreed. Those that didn’t have their arms overladen with stolen trinkets grabbed Adrien by either arm and started to drag him from the room. “Right this way, young master.” The pirate gave an exaggerated bow followed by a raucous round of laughter.
He tried to fight against their hold but it was all in vain. There were more of them, hardened and strengthened from years on the sea with weapons he knew they wouldn’t hesitate to use if he became a problem. They descended down the hill away from the mansion through the chaos of the town.
It was even worse seeing the turmoil up close. His home being torn apart and burned as if it was nothing more than trash. That was bad enough but it wasn’t the worst part. No. It was the screams. Screams of fear echoing over everything else. Sharp and full of pain.
The pirates came to the shore with Adrien in tow and tossed him into a boat as the others piled in. Arms overloaded with stolen goods they paddled back to the ship further out in the bay. The sheer size of the ship growing larger and more imposing the closer they got. Adrien swallowed back his nerves as he was forced up the ladder onto the deck of the ship.
“Aye, what do we have here?” A man approached a now bound Adrien. The man was every inch a pirate. Tall, cold eyes, a devilish grin, and the smell of salt and death clinging to him. This had to be the captain.
“My name is Adrien Graham de Vanily,” Adrien said with a confidence he was quickly losing, “Your men stole me from my home.”
“That’s quite a name, boy.” The captain grinned wider, “But the rich can afford to have longer names now, can’t they?”
“I demand you return me home at once!”
“Oh we will,” The captain clapped a hand on his back, “For the right price.” He shoved him back into the group of pirates.
“Take our guest to the brig. Make sure he’s comfortable.” The pirates leered and laughed as they once again dragged Adrien away against his will down below the deck. He was pushed into a small cell and the door locked behind him.
“If the accommodations are not to your liking just let us know.” One of the pirates flashed a smile of blackened teeth at him. “We’ll be sure to come by and fluff your pillow.”
The pirates took off again roaring with laughter. With nothing else to do Adrien sat down on the small plank of wood that passed as a bed in this cell. There the world grew quiet again. Nothing but the lap of the water against the haul and creek of the wood.
What had he gotten himself into? Why hadn’t he just tried to escape with Felix? This was a disaster. They thought he was the son of a noble. They were going to try ransoming him back to his family. What would they do once they found out he wasn’t actually part of the de Vanily family? At best they’d say he wasted their time and kick him off at the next port, at worst they’d kill him.
Who knows, maybe the family would pay it. After all, Adrien had always been a good employee and friend to Felix. There may be a chance…
Oh who was he kidding! He was a servant and nothing more. They’d maybe feel guilty for a day and then go out and hire another stable hand like Adrien never existed.
The only way Adrien was getting out of here was on his own. He’d have to be smart and try to keep up the facade as long as he could. They won’t kill him if they think he’s worth anything. With some luck he just may be able to escape but even he knew that was a long shot. Right now his only plan was to survive as long as possible.
What felt like a lifetime later the ship lurched and Adrien watched through a crack in hull as the silhouette of his home became smaller and smaller before disappearing altogether.

We Go Together
General Dameron!AU
Chapter 1: A Welcome Party of One | Chapter 2
Rating: General for now! It gets more spicy later, and I’ll update accordingly.
Tumblr media
Summary: OC character starts flying with the resistance, and happens to meet General Poe Dameron. Eventually, they'll do more than just talk and badly flirt.
A/N: Hey guys! This is my fic from AO3, and I wanted to add it to my master list. It’s a work in progress! Also, we deviate a bit from the actual story of the sequels, but I try to stay pretty close to the lore of the SW universe.
The explosion burned too bright against Darial’s eyes. The darkness of space enveloped the blinding whites, and glanced sharply against her radiation shield. A red laser shooting from the wreckage jerked her back to life; and in seconds she was maneuvering away from the burning ship behind her.
Dary heard the crackling in her ear piece, and she breathed deeply to steady herself. The casualties would be many. They were increasing ten-fold after each mission. This re-con had gone sideways, fast. She cursed under her breath and banked a hard left against a Tie Fighter shooting near her rear. Her eyes followed the green beams coming from her own X-wing, and smiled when they found their mark.
“Green Two!” The static garbled the words, but she made her call name out.
“Green Two responding,” She grimaced at her own croaky voice. She needed water, and badly.
“Green Two, disengage. Pulling back.” The words were more chewed up this time, her commander getting lost in the static.
“Pulling back, Green Leader.”
“Settle for Base.”
“Base bound, Green Two off.” She eased off the thrusters and checked the nav. Deftly, she punched in the coordinates for Ajan Kloss, and rolled her neck as hyperspace engaged.
She had enough time to glance around and see her team doing the same, before she was flung into the dazzling rush of white jets of light. She could never get over hyperspace. The urge to jerk out of the tunnel, she realized dimly, had never gone away either. Dary knew that the only reason she preferred hyper was that space was too inky black for her comfort. In her years as a pilot, she had never found comfort amongst the stars. She was always unsettled in the darkness, and felt uneasy in the absence of any celestial bodies.
“Something to keep my mind off the dead, at least.” She murmured to herself. In the brightly lit cockpit, there was nowhere to hide those dark thoughts. Her orange jumpsuit glowed, nearly reflective, as if to prove her point.
The nav system started beeping, and gave her the respite she needed to ignore the deep seated survivor’s guilt building in her stomach. She punched a few buttons, flicked a few switches, and dropped out of hyperspace. She found herself laughing, and wished flying was as easy as dropping out of hyper. She nosed her X towards the green moon.
Dary hadn’t had the opportunity to see Ajan Kloss yet, and she had heard it was a beautiful moon. The landscape rushing up to greet her after her descent into the atmosphere was a welcome sight. The rumors weren’t true, though. They left too much unsaid. The whispers of a jungle had missed the devastation of how mesmerizing the moon was. It was so alive, that Dary felt a sob stick in her chest. She shook her head slightly, and focused on the landing pattern.
“Green Two, requesting landing.” She breathed into her mic; still moved by the beauty of the greenery around her. A welcome sight after days of barren space.
“Green Two, welcome home. Head to bay 4.” The gruff voice told her. She was glad to hear Basic in a friendly tone, and never happier to get rid of the undertone of urgency or panic. She docked down in Bay 4, and noted that it looked like every other bay in the resistance, before switching her engines off.
The astromech popped the radiation shield for her, and she pulled her helmet off.
“Thanks R6.” Dary smiled warmly at her droid. He beeped in response. She left him for now, and knew he was in good hands. The Resistance loved their droids, and pilots doubly so. She had left her helmet in the cockpit, and climbed down the ladders a mechanic had pushed, over after she had touched down. The mech was nowhere to be found now, and she decided not to take it personally. She wasn’t anyone special, and the mission had been a failure to be sure. Plus, she didn’t know anyone on this moon. She rolled her eyes at herself.
“What? You expectin’ a welcome party, Dary? A full roll out?” A hardness settled in her chest, and she screwed her eyes up as she jerked the zipper of the flight suit down. She had just stepped out of the suit, focusing singularly on her muddy boots, when she heard the throat clearing cough come from behind her. She turned slowly, making a mental note to clean her shoes later. She was annoyed. She wanted to cry in the shower. She wanted to find her new quarters.
“Yes?” She was sharper than she meant to be, but she was tired.
“Yes, sir.” He said, a smirk dancing on his lips. She raised an eyebrow, but didn’t echo his request. “Because I’m Poe. General Poe Dameron.” He continued, and she realized he had expected her to know him.
“General Dameron!” She exclaimed with as much forced enthusiasm as she could muster. “What can I do for you, sir?” She asked, snapping to attention. Her flight suit still bundled around her boots. He dropped his smirk.
“You’re Green Two, right? Ardan?” His voice had lost nearly all traces of the humor from before.
“Yes, sir.” Dary answered quickly, not wanting to get into real trouble. She held his eyes for a moment, before stooping to grab her flight suit. “How can I help you, sir?” She asked genuinely, folding her suit as she talked. He smiled again, and she couldn’t help but notice he was that much more handsome for it. He was slim, but muscular beneath his loosely fitted button up. The light material really made his tanned skin glow in the bright sun.
“They tell me you saved a lot of lives doing something very dangerous and very reckless.” Her mouth fell open, and she snapped it shut with enough force to rattle her back teeth.
“Sir, I was taking calculated risks to ensure that my fellow pilots made it back in one piece.”
“You were outmanned and outgunned, why would you try to take down a Starfighter alone?”
“I reasoned that if I were successful, then it would be a great advantage for my team.”
“What if you weren’t?” She couldn’t read him, and so she tried pleading her case earnestly.
“Then I would have done everything in my power to make sure that I at least bought my team a few minutes for a retreat.” She swallowed painfully; her throat was tight and dry.
“Good work out there today, Ardan. That kind of honest fighting is how we’ll win.” He took her by the shoulder, and simply held it for a moment. It wasn’t lost on her that his palm devoured her shoulder, and engulfed her more than she thought possible. His words filled in her a sense of pride, and her heart hammered against her ribs.
“Thanks, sir.” She squeaked out, and immediately regretted how she sounded. He only smiled, and opened his other hand in a gesture. He swept his arm back, indicating she was to move that way, and somehow her brain registered the signal and started walking. Her steps felt as clumsy as a newborn banthas.
“Have you been to the base before?” He asked, his hands swinging lazily by his side. She struggled to match his long stride, although he seemed to be moving at a leisurely pace.
“No, but the view flying in was something else.” She told him, shyly moving her hair behind her ears.
“It always reminds me of Yavin.” He told her, a small smile lifting to his eyes.
“I’ve never been,” She admitted freely, “It must be lovely to be comparable to here. Is Yavin another base?” He chuckled a little, and studied her face.
“I was born on Yavin, but it does have a...rich history involving resistances. Look, not to be forward, but I was on my way to dinner. The brass has me doing some drills at an unbelievably early kriffing hour, and so I plan to turn in early. You can say no, but you’d be doing me a pretty big favor. We don’t get a lot of new faces, especially pretty faces. Whaddya say, take another risk?” He laughed, and any doubts she had were gone. If it was inappropriate, surely he wouldn’t ask.
“That sounds lovely.” She told him before she could reconsider. Her eyes trained on her boots as they walked forward. She didn’t know how her boots had gotten so dirty. There isn’t mud in space, she breathed out her nose in a sort of snort laugh, and caught Poe’s eyes. He raised an eyebrow at her.
“Something funny?” He asked, amused
“Just...well it’s dumb, but my boots are filthy. No idea how, I’ve been in space for days. No mud in the cockpit.” She told him aimlessly, the words falling out easily. She couldn’t help it; he was impossibly easy to talk to. He grinned at her, nodding along.
“Forget being clean. The first rule of the Resistance is to be as dirty as possible, but also you must always be absolutely presentable.” He laughed, pointing a finger at her in a menacing way. She liked this. She hadn’t really fit in on her last post.
“Let me stash my suit,” She managed between laughing fits. His stories were coming more freely, and the long walk to the end of the terminal was almost over. She jogged to a locker and found her code name. Green Two. Impersonal, but perfect. Especially, she grimaced, in the heat of battle. It was a precaution, just in case the First Order happened to tap the comms. She stashed her suit quickly, and turned on her heel to find Poe just waiting for her. Patiently, he was watching her. Her breath caught, and before she could let that color her face she forced her legs to close the distance between them.
“Hungry?” She groaned.
“So, what happened after you got caught?” She asked, picking up the last thread of conversation easily, as they started the last leg of the walk to the commissary.
“Well, what you need to know is how to confuse a bageraset--I escaped, of course.” He shrugged, throwing her a smirk. She could smell the stew now, and knew that it would be just edible. Her stomach growled in anticipation, though. Which earned her a shoulder nudge from her companion.
“Starving, actually. I wasn’t joking about being in space for days. All I’ve had are those dreadful ration bars.” He laughed in response.
“That won’t do. The food here isn’t as bad as some of the posts. The cook is trained, so he does alright.” He opened the right side of the double swinging doors with one arm, and gestured her in with the other. The bustle of the canteen hit her right away.
Laughing, yelling, eating, drinking, and just a general buzz of life. She normally prefered the quiet, but the energy was contagious. She turned a quick grin to Poe before ducking past him.

Soulsborne!Frozen AU: Great Knight Annatorias, the Abyss Walker
This is @jabs-wocks and @daughterofhel’s fault but I’m also @-ing myself because apparently I don’t need much encouragement to write stories sometimes so…
Before getting started, this entire 3.5k (yes, that's the correct number) brain-on-fire, sleep depriving idea, was inspired by two pieces by @azaffranist and one by twitter user @agongbushou. I highly recommend checking the linked art out before reading, since I reference them at times directly.
Okay Soulsborne!Frozen au, Anna is Knight Artorias, legendary fighter, sent to the Abyss to seek and destroy the Darkness of the world itself.
No pressure or anything.
Anna is a brave hearted woman, shoulder to shoulder with those who fought and killed nigh immortal dragons. Her kind pluck such foul creatures from the sky with arrows larger than trees, with lightning more forked than a hurricane, and slay enemies with the kindness of silver and gold-tipped daggers.
Her own mighty broadsword swings over her left shoulder with ease, a smile on her lips as she walks. The Age of Fire is upon them, but there is fear in the hearts of the gods, and to save those who would, without help, succumb to the evil inside of them Great Knight Anna will stop at nothing.
There are monsters to kill, perverted and misguided souls, each one more disturbing and profane than the last, as each is born from the Abyss itself, a dark, treacherous place where no mortal would dare tread. The city of Oolacile is threatened, sinking slowly into Darkness as an ancient, promethean man eats it from the inside out.
But Anna holds courage in her heart, and should she need a reminder of strength or solace, she need only look to her right and Elsa, her direwolf companion, is next to her, ice-blue eyes speaking more than a voice ever could. Her pure white fur makes the Darkness shrink, her frost-like Light magic a boon in the most murky corridor. Elsa has a nose for danger, and can conjure crystals to warn of dangerous earth, poisoned water, a new rash of weather over the mountains, or the lurking threat of fire. Her pelt is soft and warm, and in the mountains where they camp she’s as cozy as a bonfire, her fluffy tail wrapped around Anna’s middle as the Knight snoozes against her side.
With such skill and determination, and pureness of heart, Anna is more than well equipped to fight the Darkness, especially when Elsa is with her every step of the way.
The Abyss calls itself Manus and it is a nightmare.
For the first time, Anna is overwhelmed. She is battered against the walls of this cave, she is clawed and crushed and flogged with fists of pure Darkness. Her ears ring with primal screams. Elsa’s magic is no more effective than her teeth, and Anna watches as her companion lunges at the Manus’ middle, watches how the Darkness warps impossibly, sees a hand of incredible size form above Elsa’s unprotected back. Anna moves.
She does not feel her arm shatter (that pain will come later) but she hears it, cracking and shredding and splintering, heedless of muscle and skin.
The shield’s magic forces Manus back, screeching into the Dark. A brief respite.
Elsa pants hard, the concussive force of the hit rattling already exhausted bones, empty of energy and magic. Anna knows Elsa will not survive another blow. She is still young, a pup, and deserves to grow, large and strong. A pelt, a life, as bright as Elsa’s should not be swallowed by the Dark.
Anna speaks the runes and the shield ignites with Light, protecting Elsa from the Abyss forever, but also protecting Elsa from following Anna as she hefts her greatsword in her off hand and limps back towards the sound of Manus’ roars. She closes her ears to Elsa’s pitiful cries.
The Dark would not claim another victim.
But it does.
-----
Whatever thou art, stay away.
Soon I will be consumed by ‘Them’, by the Dark.
All of you… forgive me. For I have availed you nothing.
-----
Hundreds of years later Elsa’s ears pick up the sound of an interloper in the graveyard. She rouses herself, shaking rainwater from her coat. The snowflake mark on her brow has dulled, no longer lively purple but a morose kind of brown, the color of bloodied earth long dry.
Elsa is tired. Thieves keep coming to steal what is most precious to her. Could they not see the weapons of their fellows littered on the ground? Monuments to greed, pillars of failure each one of them, a blade planted vertically in the dirt next to small, unmarked headstones. Don’t they see? They seek an object that will only kill them, the wicked artifact that allowed Anna to walk into the Abyss unharmed, only for claws of black to tear her asunder. The cursed item that allowed Anna’s fate.
No one should have the power to throw themselves so willingly onto Death’s sword.
As the thief approaches Anna’s enormous headstone, reaches their hand out to touch Anna’s greatsword, Elsa makes her presence known. She is a formidable sight: a fully grown Great Wolf, she towers, mountainous, over this puny looter. Anger shoots through Elsa, igniting her limbs as she leaps down and tears Anna’s weapon from the dirt. Again. To stop one so desperate to kill themselves. Again.
Elsa howls at the moon, anguish and guilt and fury clashing within her.
Let Anna rest, her work is done. Do not walk in her footsteps, as there lies only suffering.
She repositions the sword in her mouth and swings, long and sweeping as she has seen Anna do many times before.
Blood stains the rocky headstones in crimson arcs.
----
Elsa awakes yet again and everything has changed.
It is dark, unnaturally so. There is no graveyard, there are no trees, no whisper of wind through her coat. She is flat on her back and there is a strange man in a wheelchair to her right, telling her things. Yharnam? An Outsider? He mentions blood and suddenly Elsa’s nose is filled with it, cloying and pressing against her. How had she not noticed it before?
How also had she not noticed she was strapped to a bed?
He begins his so-called transfusion and Elsa sees that her feet do not end in paws and her tail is missing. Her teeth are no longer sharp as she tests them with her tongue and her muzzle does not like to growl but to grumble, too short to carry the sound forward.
But she does not have time to contemplate this as her vision blurs and she falls backwards into the dark once more.
A Beast of blood emerges from the floor but Elsa feels no kinship with it. The Beast is twisted and wrong, and as it reaches out to touch her it bursts into flame, screaming. Perhaps her Light magic still works here… or perhaps Anna’s shield is still bound to her, after all this time. For surely that creature is borne of the Abyss.
So too must these small pygmy-like wretches crawling up her stomach and chest. Fear jolts through Elsa’s heart as these pale things are not deflected by magic and instead reach her head and cover her eyes. A voice whispers in her mind.
“Ah… you’ve found a hunter…”
Anna?
The Hunter’s Dream is serene and soft compared to the Night eating Yharnam alive. Here there are flowers, a pleasant breeze that does not carry wails, and though there are graves it seems a peaceful place of rest for all, not just the dead.
And this is where Elsa finds her.
Anna. Her Knight, her long lost friend, lying against the garden wall. Her eyes are closed, peaceful in sleep. Elsa approaches with great joy but… something is wrong.
Anna… doesn’t smell like Anna. Elsa presses her nose against the woman’s cheek, just to be sure, but is chastised by the man inside a house at the top of the steps, the one who must have brought her here. Elsa remembers a piercing pain in her chest followed by a long dark like a heavy blanket, deep and inevitable. Perhaps she died the night of the thief, and this world is simply the next one. Anna, or perhaps not-Anna, has not stirred in the slightest to Elsa’s presence, and with another beckoning of the old man, Elsa realizes this is a mystery to be put aside for the moment. Besides, Anna is peaceful in this state, and… she was not peaceful the last time Elsa saw her. Maybe this is where she has been sleeping all along, as Elsa watched over her grave in the other world.
Elsa slowly gets used to walking on two legs, though she always misses her tail, expecting it on the back of her calves every other step. She is both taller and shorter than she feels she should be but the little pygmies do not laugh when she misses her target because of this. In fact they are friendly, bringing her trinkets at times. She understands them a little, as they too are non-verbal. Human language still eludes her, though Elsa realizes she has now, the ability to speak it, as clearly and easily as she used to speak to Anna with just her movements. No one seems to mind her silence, and in turn she feels no need to break it.
Except for the Doll.
That’s what the man calls her, the not-Anna. Now awake, she is kind and gentle, and while her warmth kindles familiarity in Elsa’s soul, it is not enough like the bonfire of a spirit Knight Anna always possessed. Though she shares Anna’s face, her voice is thinner, like a creek through reeds, shallow like music from another room. If this is what her Anna has been reduced to, then Elsa will care for her as she always has, her silent companion. But it is the only time Elsa wishes she could speak, align her muzzle and teeth and tongue in the right order for speech. But she, the Doll… Anna… this woman, seems to read Elsa’s eyes well enough, and always wishes her wellness and luck in her hunts.
The Yharnam Elsa now stalks may be new, but it is not unfamiliar. There are monsters here too, but they are not undead but Beasts, sick like the Darkness made humans sick. The town conjures a feeling of familiar unease, it is like Oolacile being consumed all over again. Elsa has been given a strange blade: a cane-sword, they called it a trick weapon. It has a different kind of grace than Anna’s greatsword, but Elsa can admire its stinging, erratic bite as it curls around shields and tears flesh with the same ease as her old jaw.
Elsa resigns herself to the Doll, this copy of Anna, a pale comparison but not an unkind one. Until the day she learns of Lady Anna, an Old Hunter, experienced slayer, and roaming ghost of Yharnam. The man tells Elsa that Lady Anna wishes to exterminate Beasts so that people can live in peace, forever, and she is as ruthless as she is discerning, relentless in her quest. Even the Doll has nothing but admiration in her too-soft voice for this person.
Elsa needs to meet this her, and sets out immediately. She sounds… very much like Great Knight Anna: firmly set in her beliefs and desire for goodness and peace in her grisly work, but Elsa swallows the glass-like shards of hope rising in her throat. Disappointment would be its own kind if dying.
She finds her in the Clock Tower. The likeness is uncanny, but if the Doll was an enthusiastic replacement, this body was a carbon copy. The swallowed glass gets lodged, stabbing into Elsa’s heart, but still, she dared not hope. This person, Lady Anna, was so… still. Knight Anna was never still, so much boundless energy, so much eagerness, the will to do good, to make safe haven, sometimes even robbed her of sleep. The woman sitting in a lonesome chair is not like that at all, she is calm, collected.
Perhaps she is dead.
Indeed, Lady Anna is covered in blood and Elsa does not see her chest breathe, not even an inch. Tentatively she reaches out a hand. Oh, now this would be cruel indeed - to find her Knight only for her to be dead and bloodless and empty of everything once again.
The vice-like grip around her wrist shocks Elsa from her thoughts.
“A corpse… should be left well alone.” A corpse, a corpse!? But Lady Anna is so very alive and her voice--
Unmistakable.
But quickly Elsa realizes she’s fighting for her life. There’s so much noise and movement and blood, so much blood it reeks. Lady Anna’s swings seem to come from nowhere, fire igniting in the wake of every slash and it’s dazzling and swift and uncanny… and yet.
Her stance may be foreign but her prowess is not, she directs her weapons with grace and skill, and the blades dance towards Elsa’s throat with a precision borne from battle hardened assurance.
Just like a knight. Just like Anna with her greatsword.
Suddenly Lady Anna is upon her, grabbing Elsa’s collar and pulling, clutching Elsa to her chest. It’s rough and unfriendly but Elsa knows deep down this is new and startling for both of them. Anna’s breathing is ragged despite her absolute dominance over the battlefield, her voice shaking with some burdening magnitude.
“I know you,” Lady Anna whispers in her ear.
And Elsa, having not made a sound this entire time except in exhaustion or pain, gets her too short tongue working and too small teeth out of the way to say, “And I know you. You are Lady Anna, protector of Yharnam, slayer of the Darkness that lurks in the hearts of men to make them Beasts, and you have done well to make a name for yourself here. But all of that I know only because I found myself here, in a Dream. When I was young, and Awake, I knew you as Great Knight Anna, warrior against the Darkness itself, and you held in your powerful grip a sword as tall as you so that you could always slay something larger than yourself. It flashed as brightly as your smile until it could no more. And the last I saw you was when I had no shared language to warn you, no voice to scream in grief as your arm shattered and yielded to profane horror. Despite your broken body you used your only able limb to shield me against death itself, magical and eternal. But it kept me from you, and you walked back into the Dark where I could not follow and then there was the most terrible quiet. I saw someone go in afterwards, and only then did I hear your voice again, but as it was never meant to be: broken and hollow and defeated. Dark.”
Lady Anna’s hand shakes, her other poised over Elsa’s heart. It could drive right through her chest, seek the Beast in Elsa’s blood and rip it out. But perhaps it was there before the infusion, one of kindred spirit instead of illness and madness. Anna releases her hold without warning and Elsa’s knees hit the ground hard.
“I… have felt a loneliness for so long,” Lady Anna says, almost to herself. “I have searched for years, every nook and cranny, guided by nothing but some deep knowledge of a phantom ‘other’ by my side, etched so deeply it could be in my very own blood. But this presence, this… twin soul, has never showed itself.” She looks at her swords. “They did not used to split, it was one weapon, until I could not stomach the void anymore. I threw it away, and fashioned these. They… somehow I knew I needed two. There were supposed to be two. Two… of… us.”
Elsa goes to answer but the words tangle in her mouth, gargled and guttural and rough. Speech flees from her again, focus gone, and Elsa clutches her throat, gasping. Lady Anna twitches, hands tightening on her weapons.
Anna’s voice holds the tension of a tripwire. “You--... She... I gave someone a name once. My closest friend. She had unique Light magic: small diamonds, blue, beautiful.” Her eyes flashed with her steel. “Show me. Tell me her name, or be not Hunter but Beast.”
And Elsa does.
The Clock Tower fills with floating diamonds, glittering and bright, etched with symbols of safety and protection and Light. They move and spin, arranging themselves into a shape, not a Yharnam rune but an older one, one only Anna would know. Elsa’s name in the language of the Age of Fire.
Anna drops her swords, clattering to the floor and embraces Elsa with arms so fierce and desperate that Elsa cannot breathe, until Anna’s shoulders slump and hitch with sobs and now Elsa holds Anna with tired, grateful hands.
“I thought…,” Anna manages, trembling in Elsa’s grasp, “I thought it was a Dream. All that before… really happened.” Anna clutches at Elsa’s clothes, like burying fingers in thick fur, “I have missed you every moment of my death, including all the seconds from when I Awoke without you, until now.”
Elsa wipes Anna’s tears away, clumsy in her joy but her eyes say everything her stubborn tongue won’t, and it is just like before, when she knows Anna understands her completely.
“In my defense,” Anna sniffs, regaining a bit of control, “I thought you’d be taller. And well, you were a wolf the last time we met.”
Elsa can’t help but smile at that, lending Anna an arm as they stand. The smile turns into quite the wolfish grin indeed when they realize at the same time that Elsa is in fact, an inch or so taller than Anna.
“You really did grow up without me, didn’t you?” Anna says wistfully, as though to chastise for leaving her behind.
Elsa makes a huffing sound that they both know is laughter and presses her forehead against Anna’s.
Finally. Her Knight. Her Lady.
Her home.
This time, neither will face the Darkness alone.
------
Alternate Endings, courtesy of questions asked by @daughterofhel (who patiently let me tell the ENTIRE story of Artorias and Sif AND the Good Hunter and the Doll and Lady Maria to contextualize this… entire… thing)
-Lady Maria!Anna is not immune to Beast blood like in canon and after joining up with Sif!Elsa actually succumbs to the plague and goes feral. Their roles are now reversed, Elsa is the badass Hunter with a Beast companion. They still know each other well enough to communicate but are ostracized from the other Hunters because Elsa refuses to kill Anna
-Because Elsa was a creature in her past life, the Beast blood takes hold very naturally, and it does not change her personality or sense of self. Lady Anna reclaims her greatsword trick weapon and travels Yharnam with Elsa by her side, now a were-beast. The magical snowflake on her forehead comes back and her fur is the same white/white-blonde as when she was a Great Wolf
-Lady Anna actually DOES rip Elsa’s heart out of her chest like that killer parry (for female Hunters only!), realizing seconds too late she has killed her life long friend who crossed time and space to find her. Distraught, Lady Anna consumes Elsa’s heart, drawing upon her vampiric, Vileblood ancestry to bond Elsa’s soul to hers. Other Hunters begin to hear rumors of a unique Beast stalking Yharnam, slaying it’s own kin and leaving behind oceans of blood. It has patchy red and white fur, a greatsword strapped to it’s back, and two different colored eyes: one green, one blue. Some even claim that it speaks to itself, though broken and twisted, and it will leave a trail of blue-glowing diamonds in areas safe to return to, lighting up the dark.
Players who fight this Beast are startled to learn that the heat-up phase is actually the Beast transforming into a much smaller, very human figure who begins to wield the trick weapon on its back with swift, deadly, and ferocious attacks. The figure will sometimes scale walls and launch attacks from above, the air along the cut of the weapon’s blade igniting into flame and leaving explosive blue crystals behind. Upon the boss’s defeat the player gets double the amount of Blood Echos they expect and as the person collapses a white soul emerges to entwine around a red one, dissipating into the ether together

Rules: List the first lines of your last 20 stories (if you have less than 20, just list them all!). See if there are any patterns. Choose your favorite opening line. Then tag 10 of your favorite authors!
(click here to read them all on my tumblr and not the dash)
1. It takes approximately forty-two minutes before Stiles can convince himself to get up off the loveseat where he’s happily squished between Danny and Isaac.  (love aka part 3 of the Stiles/Peter slow burn I wrote because of Catt)
2. “So.  What the djinn did to Dean in, what was it, season one?  Two?  Whatever.  Yeah totally legit.  Negative fifty out of ten.  Would not recommend.” (promise aka part 2 of the Stiles/Peter slow burn)
3. Hajime freezes when he hears the distinct sound of someone pointedly clearing their throat behind him.  (the 5+1 mistletoe kisses prompt)
4. Stiles’s phone lights up and he gives it a wary look when he sees the text notification on his screen.  He’s already been warned, by a few different people, that he would probably be getting a summons soon. (trust aka part 1 of the Stiles/Peter slow burn)
5. “There comes a day in every man’s li—”
The officiant is cut off by a loud cough and he takes a bracing breath, eyes fluttering.  (the magic in you aka KageUshiIwa magical fluff)
6. The sky is turning gray, clouds rolling in to cover up the sunset, when Kuroo finally turns to Shouyou and sighs.
“Call him.”
Shouyou snickers at the defeated tone of Kuroo’s voice but he pulls out his phone. (we’re in a parking lot somewhere aka KuroHinaDai something or other I’m writing)
7. It still hurts sometimes.  Not his wound.  It’s scarred up rather nicely.  As nice as a giant scar across half your face can be anyway. (a yet to be titled/plotted ATLA Zuko & Toph thing)
8. It starts early one morning —  mere minutes after the door has unlocked and the sign has scrawled itself into a brilliantly colorful OPEN complete with sparkles and tiny fireworks — not long after everything has started to quiet down.  (Well it had technically started years and years ago when they were all childish and stupid right little shits to each other but that’s a different story for a different day.) (only time will tell aka my Draco/George & Theo/Fred fic)
9.  Neville snaps his head up, instantly wary of Hermione and that tone of voice, and then flushes when he realizes what he’s done.  It’s Hermione after all.  She’s entirely too clever for her own good but she’s not some sneaky devious creature he has to watch his back around.  Though sometimes when she smiles the way she’s smiling now he remembers that, actually, yes she is a sneaky devious creature.  She just likes him enough that, for the most part, he doesn’t have to worry about watching his back around her.  (an untitled HP everyone comes back as professors fic)
10. Some things in life are certain.  They’re just going to happen no matter what, no matter how much you might try to prevent them.  So the smart thing to do would be to just go with the flow, right?  Just let the things happen and try not to stress over it.  Morisuke likes to think of himself as a fairly smart person.  So he’ll just take a few deep breaths and let it go, right?
Wrong.  (untitled TsukkiYaku fake dating fic)
11. Issei stumbles out of his bedroom and shuffles down the hall doing a really great impression of a zombie if you ask him.  He’s got the groans and the unsteady steps and the unfocused eyes and the inability to use higher brain functions like speech and decision making.  (my last first everything aka HanaMatsu slow burn mutual pining childhood friends to lovers)
12. The cauldron in the fireplace rattles and Daichi gives it an unimpressed stare. (cauldron bubble aka BokuDai magic accidental baby acquisition)
13. Tobio’s eyes cross as he tries to focus on the object dangling in front of his face.  He leans away from it and presses the back of his head against a warm stomach.
“Hello Iwaizumi,” he says.  (a place in the sun aka IwaKage fluff)
14. The cupboard under the stairs isn’t exactly the most comfortable place to be.  But if you are five and want to hear what the adults are talking about so seriously in the kitchen of 12 Grimmauld Place then, sadly, the cupboard it is. (matchsticks and dragon scales, year 1 aka my Harry Potter rewrite)
15. Hajime takes a sip of his coffee and sighs, ignoring the world around him for just a few minutes while he sits and at his table at Generic Coffee Shop and gets his morning dose of caffeine.  (roots and sky aka the IwaOi part of my childhood friends to lovers series, the dichotomy of you and me)
16. It’s two in the afternoon on a Tuesday and all Tadashi wants to do is go home and sleep.  Maybe for a week.  Maybe for a month.  He’s not too entirely picky to be honest. (stars and sea aka the YamaTsukki part of the dichotomy of you and me)
17. So.  Library.
Not exactly where he’d thought he’d be working when he was back in high school.  But it’s, objectively speaking, not the worst place he could be working.  Like sure it’s not quite as interesting as working at the aquarium like Watari.  But it’s also not as taboo sounding as working at a funeral place like Matsukawa.
So.  You know.  It’s not that bad. (past and future aka the KinKuni part of the dichotomy of you and me)
18. Tetsurou glances at the screen one last time before posting and immediately closing out of his browser and signing out of his email.  He shuts down his computer a moment later and stands with a quiet groan.  It’s been a shit day.  It’s not the worst Thursday of his life or anything like that.  Just.  A shit day.  All he wants to do is clock out and go the fucky doodle home.  Which is why he hurries past his boss’s office with his head down — he has the worst problem saying no when his boss asks him for things which is how he found himself with Social Media Coordinator tacked onto his business card a few months ago — and when he hear his boss’s door start to open he hurries a little faster and opts for taking the stairs down instead of waiting for the elevator. (body and soul aka the KuroKen part of the dichotomy of you and me)
19. Kei stretches idly as he waits for practice to start.  They’re already a few weeks into this year’s season but today they’re apparently waiting for their new team trainer.  Or assistant coach.  Or something.  He wasn’t entirely listening to the announcement from the captain yesterday.   (we’ll meet at the horizon aka my epic HinaTsukki slow burn)
20. He knows the moment the words leave his lips that he’s gone too far, that he’s made one too many jokes, said a few too many things he shouldn’t have.  He always screws up, is always too much for people to handle. ((don’t) write me an elegy of your past, love aka that AkaKuro & BokuDai fantasy au)
I have no idea if I have any patterns other than I go for humor, a lot.  And I can’t pick a favorite cause I love them all for different reasons.
