Saeko, the savior of Karsuno first years🙌🏻
Please the fact that she just pulls up for these boys
Perfection 🥰
We love her so much
And you know who she loves?
Why you our sweet YN 😍
You are literally the complete opposite of Saeko
You are soft, kind, sweet, simply freaking ADOREABLE
When you first started dating Saeko, it was an adventure 😬
Everyone wondered how you two made it work
But you somehow did 🤷‍♀️
Probably because you were the calm and Saeko was the one who handled the badassery of your ship
When you first came over to meet her parents and Ryunosuke
Let's just say, it was nothing like you've ever experienced in your entire life
Hear me out 🤚🏻
You pull up, walk up the walkway and that's when you hear it
A loud crash and a BANG
immediate panic 😱
You forgo the customary introductions for literally running through the front door of the Tanaka household and straight to the kitchen
There stands Ryu, holding a pot and pan and staring at you
🎶 when he looks at me, and I look at him and he looks at me and I LOOK AT HIMMMM 🎶
"Are you ok???"- you scream loudly
Ryu 👉🏻👁👄👁 ummm yes...
Please who is this hotty and like why did you just run into his home
You put your hand over your chest as you struggle to catch your breath
"Oh YN hey babe- wait did you ring the doorbell?"- Saeko says coming up from behind
"I- I heard a loud crash and I was afraid someone was hurt"- you say
Ryu looks back and forth between you and his sister
"Nah that was just Ryu trying to cook"- Saeko says waving her hand as she goes in for a sweet kiss
Tanaka 👉🏻😳 this is YN???
"Oh Ryu, this is my girlfriend YN. YN my brother Ryu!"
You smile and go to shake Ryu's hand
"It's so nice to meet you. I'm sorry for frightening you"- you
Ryu 👉🏻👁👄👁 you didn't frighten me
"Ryu stop gawking at my girlfriend! And clean up this mess! Come on YN"- Saeko says pulling you towards her room
After that, you and Ryu became fast friends
In fact, you had asked if it would be ok to attend a game with Saeko
Ryu was so excited you were going to come
Please the bby needs all the support yn 🥺
You show up and see Ryu and the team getting ready for their match
"Hey Ryu!"- you shout, waving and running towards Tanaka
The guys all look up and stop ✋🏻
Because holy crap 😳
Literally them 👉🏻🥵🥵🥵
"YN hey you came!! Where's Saeko?"- he says looking around you
"She's parking. I'm just heading up to the bleachers to save us a spot! Just wanted to wish you and the team good luck"- you say smiling
"Thanks YN!"- Ryu says
"Good luck guys!"- you say to the team as you smile and wave 👋🏻
Karasuno 👉🏻👁👄👁 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Before the team can even say anything, Ukai comes and tells them it's time to get ready
Literally the entire match, these boys all play at the top of their game
You are standing up their watching
Who are you? They have zero clue but the fact that YOU are watching THEM??
Oh boy, it's all over
After the game, you and Saeko come to congratulate the boys 🥳
"You guys were amazing! That game was so awesome!"- you shout
"Hey thanks YN!"- Ryu says
Please Noya and Hinata can not
"YN you are so pretty!"- Noya and Hinata 😍
Them 👇🏻
Tumblr media
"Awe thank you so much cuties"- you 🥰
"MARRY ME YN"- Noya blurts out
Please, we all know it's a reasonable request 😅
"Did you just propose to my girlfriend"- Saeko days, crossing her arms
You 👉🏻😅
Ryu👉🏻 oop 👀
"Your girl-GIRLFRIEND"- Noya says, stunned 😲
"Yes Yuu, MY girlfriend"- Saeko 😑
"Babe chill- they don't know I'm dating you"- you trying to defuse
Saeko 👉🏻mhmm 😠
I think it's time we make an exit YN 😅
"Well" you say clapping your hands together 👏🏻 "it looks like it's time we leave! See you guys at the finals tomorrow"- you say pushing Saeko towards the door
Saeko @ Noya 👇🏻
Tumblr media
Please YN gain control
"I didn't like the way he was looking at you YN"- Saeko
You 👉🏻 😐 he's a child!
"You know I only love you babe"- you say hugging your girlfriend
"I love you too"- she says sweetly 🥰

Tumblr media
it’s an auspicious date for the ideal wedding. as ideal as a wedding can be for someone who wasn’t in the loop until a week ago. she had never dreamed of getting married, it was all too much for her but she knew her place.
her parents are far too secretive about everything and she’s only been told that the man she’ll be marrying is someone of high status.
she’s was not surprised in the least, considering her parents cared more for their status and money than they did about her wellbeing. she wonders what she would’ve done without saeko tanaka, a lovely maid servant her parents had hired when she was barely a teen and saeko had finished high school.
“dear, you know your place in society, don’t you?” her mother smiles but that smile has never reached the old woman’s eyes and it left her feeling uncomfortable.
she sometimes wondered if her parents would be more proud of her if she was a boy. she was smart and ambitious and had already graduated university with her degree but it was never enough for them.
greed was an ugly demon, always lurking close by.
“first we bow to the heavens and the earth, darling”
she woke up with a loud gasp. the air around her felt cold and damp despite it being much warmer these last few nights.
it sounded like something had whispered to her but she supposed anyone would be jumpy, preparing for a wedding they didn’t want to be apart of.
her friends were right, it was ridiculous to agree to marry someone she didn’t even know. they wouldn’t even tell her his name.
“the age of social media” her father rolled his eyes, “i don’t need you going around making a mockery of this family on that ridiculous x app you like to be on”
what about what she wanted? she knew that none of that mattered to her parents anyway so it was pointless arguing and running away would create bigger problems.
there was no way she’d be able to fall back asleep and she knew that if she tried to sneak down to saeko’s room, there was a chance she’d run into her father since he was always up in his study and she was too angry to talk to any of her parents.
“it was just a dream” saeko says, helping her prepare breakfast, “don’t read too much into it”
she did have a had habit of being a superstitious but for days she’d been having strange dreams and then she finds out she’s engaged? it felt like a warning of some sort.
“i just don’t understand why they can’t tell me anything about him” she groans, “what difference does it make? i’ll still have to marry him”
“maybe he’s a politician” saeko offers which doesn’t help ease the nerves at all. she never imagined being married to anyone that important, let alone a politician.
she wouldn’t put it past her parents though, since it would make them look good in the eyes of the public. attorney general’s daughter marrying into a prestigious family and she can only imagine the people flocking to her mothers design company.
she felt like a pawn to them.
“a red veil is compulsory dear, you know how important this is for your father and i” her mother sighs, “don’t make this difficult for yourself”
“what does he do?” she asks, “the man i’m supposed to marry”
“why does it matter?” her mother rolls her eyes, forcing her to stand upright as her measurements are being taken, “he’s very important and it won’t do us any good if you upset him”
“i feel like a doll” y/n frowns, “it’s too tight”
“you are a doll” her mother cups her cheek, “the prettiest of them all and you’ll be the perfect bride”
and the perfect sacrifice
“tonight, you’ll wear white” her mother instructs, “it’s important that you look your best”
“what’s wrong with what i have on?” she frowns
“don’t be silly” her mother scoffs, “i had the maids prepare your dress and shoes and saeko will help with your hair”
reaching into her bag, she produces a beautiful black box with gold phoenixes decorating it.
“a gift, from your betrothed” her smile is genuine this time and y/n knows it’s because she cares more about the expensive piece of jewellery.
the gold chain is thin and dainty and y/n can see the tiny center piece is the “grooms” family crest. she’s heard about these kinds of traditions and she doesn’t bother fighting when her mother insists on putting it on for her.
binding.
“how beautiful” her mother sighs but her eyes are on the center piece and once again, y/n feels like nothing more than a pawn.
she would never consider herself to be superficial, she knew real beauty was skin deep but she couldn’t help the small gasp when her walked into their large dining room.
he was so tall and pale, the moles on his face making his beautiful face stand out that much more. he didn’t smile and he didn’t seem interested in shaking hands with anyone, keeping a distance from her parents as his driver and assistant, stood nearby.
their eyes met a few times and y/n felt a cold shiver run down her back. his eyes were like two beautiful black holes, way too dangerous to keep looking or you’d surely get lost forever.
for a moment, it felt like the chain around her neck burned into her skin and she winced, looking back down at her hands in her lap.
“master wants to speak with you alone”
she looks up to see the man that had arrived with her .. fiancé.
“there’s no need to worry, i’m atsumu” atsumu smiles gently, “he’s in the garden”
she nods and follows him into the backyard. it’s the one place she can truly call her own since her parents never cared about it.
“there you are” kiyoomi says and his voice is rich and deep, causing a pleasant shiver to run down her spine. it’s different being this close to him and she’s a little surprised when he reaches for her hand and it’s cold to the touch.
“there’s no need to be so shy around me” he tells her, “we’re going to be married soon”
“… right” she says because she wasn’t sure what she was supposed to say. it helped that he was charming and he smelled like fresh lotus flowers.
“you’ll have a garden, just like this” kiyoomi says, “you take care of these flowers no?”
“i do” she smiles, “it’s my garden”
“you can plant whatever you want” he grins, “you’ll have all the free time to do everything you like”
as long as you never leave.
“iI think my mother would’ve loved you” kiyoomi says as he watches her pour him his tea, “she liked gardening too”
“oh.. i’m sorry” y/n says awkwardly
“it’s alright” he says, “it’s been years since i lost my parents, it’s an old wound”
does that mean he chose to marry her on his own? she didn’t understand what was going on. she also didn’t know how he even met her father and what exactly did he do for a living.
the next week felt like a blur, with having to get more measurements done, to having an official dinner as a family. they weren’t even married yet but the news spread fast that y/n, daughter of the attorney general, was finally going to be betrothed.
everyone in the city seemed to be excited for the grand wedding. smaller cities meant that everyone knew each other and she couldn’t even go out with friends without people congratulating her and some people looked as though they felt sorry for her.
an elderly lady at the café she frequented couldn’t even look at her without becoming teary eyed.
“i’m not going to stop coming here” y/n tries to make it lighthearted, “i’ve been coming here since high school”
“oh sweetheart” the elderly lady shook her head but before she could speak further, her husband pulled her away from their table.
“what was that about?” keiji asks
“it’s an old people thing” maki rolls his eyes, “don’t pay them any mind y/n”
y/n tried to ignore the uneasy feeling she felt for the rest of the day. it felt like the lady had more to say but her husband stopped her before she could say anything.
was kiyoomi really someone that well known? she had never really seen or heard of him before and that made her even more confused because the city wasn’t that big.
everyone knew everyone.
“there you are!” her father exclaims and she resists the urge to roll her eyes at him.
“kiyoomi thinks it’s important that you two get to know each other before the wedding” her father says and she can hear, in his tone, that there’s no room for arguments.
“will he come here?” she asks and her father shakes his head.
“he’s sending atsumu to pick you up tomorrow morning” he holds her hand, “you’ll spend some time with him so pack a bag”
she widens her eyes at that. her parents had always been strict about dating so why would they be so comfortable to let her stay at a man’s house she barely knew? a man she was engaged to.
“and keep the chain on at all times” he reminds her as she stands, “it’s important to him”
what about me?
“we’re very proud of you” her father says, “you’re very important to us”
she tries not to cry because that’s the first time he’s ever said that to her. she can’t even bring herself to hate him because after all, he was her father.
she wasn’t sure what she was expecting but his house is much bigger than hers and much more .. haunting. it must’ve been around in his family for many years despite being in perfect condition.
“come, atsumu will have them put your things in your room” kiyoomi takes her hand, “let me show you around”
“is this—”
“i told you” he pulls her into the huge garden in the back, “you can plant whatever you want here”
“it’s beautiful” y/n smiles, allowing herself to feel just a little bit happier. at least she’d be away from her parents for a few days.
“it’s yours” he tells her, “or rather, it will be”
and you’ll belong to me.
when keiji comes by the next day, he’s also shocked at how big the house is but it feels empty, almost like the walls whisper to you when you’re alone.
“the old lady was at the store earlier” keiji says, “she was so worried about you”
“about me?” y/n frowns, “what did she say?”
“she was talking so fast but she mentioned something about an old village nearby and sacrifices”
“oh” y/n laughs, “maybe she’s paranoid because i haven’t stopped by lately?”
“could be” he shrugs, looking around the large room y/n was staying in. “her husband told me to just ignore her so i didn’t say much else”
“ah, i see” y/n nods
she doesn’t mention the weird dreams she’s still having because she knows it’s because she’s just been overwhelmed lately and while saeko did go back home to fetch a few things, she knew she’d be back.
y/n still felt too nervous around kiyoomi even though he was putting in a lot of effort to make her feel comfortable.
“how is he?” keiji asks after a moment, “do you get along?”
“he’s great” y/n sighs, “almost too perfect, it doesn’t feel real”
“do you want to get to know him too?” he asks and she nods. she could admit that she was just a bit curious about him.
“i.. like talking to him” y/n says, “he listens and he’s patient because it’s obvious i’m still on edge”
“when is the wedding supposed to be?” keiji asks
“a week from now” y/n laughs bitterly, “my father picked the date”
“god he’s so—”
“don’t” y/n sighs, “it’s fine, i’m still getting used to the idea, that’s all”
“it’s still unfair” keiji sighs but he knows to back off.
a knock on the door startles them both and y/n feels that chill from before when kiyoomi opens the door to lean against the frame.
“you’re still here” he says and y/n nods.
“oh, this is keiji” y/n smiles, “keiji, this is kiyoomi”
“nice to meet you” keiji says and kiyoomi nods in acknowledgement.
she notices the mood change when keiji leaves. kiyoomi is already very quiet but it feels different that she feels the need to explain.
“he’s been my best friend since high school” y/n says, “he got married last year to his husband”
kiyoomi looks taken aback before he smiles again, standing to his full height.
“shall we have dinner?” he asks and she nods, smiling awkwardly.
was he already jealous?
“you’re the one i’ve been waiting for, you can never leave me. i’ve waited long enough for you to finally come to me and now that you’re here, i can never let you go.
sleep well, darling”
she wakes up gasping, sitting straight up in bed. the room is dimly lit since she had fallen asleep while reading.
she couldn’t really see anything or anyone in the recent dreams but it felt so real, like she was being pulled into the darkness just before she’d wake up, gasping for air.
“am i losing my mind?”
the conversation with keiji comes back to her and she can’t shake the feeling that something is going to happen. did people experience this before their weddings?
is this what cold feet was?
she shook her head and snuck downstairs to get a drink. she needed to clear her mind and reading was starting to make her overthink everything.
“can’t sleep?” atsumu asks. he’s sitting outside in the garden as she steps outside and she nods, holding her warm cup of tea close to her chest.
“is kiyoomi home?” she asks, sitting on the porch beside him. the garden was her favourite part of the entire place and she found herself playing with her chain as she stared out into the night.
“he’s in his study” atsumu smiles, “he’d love it if you joined him in there”
“wouldn’t i be disturbing his work?” she asks but atsumu chuckles.
“he has a personal library” atsumu adds, “master says he’s seen you reading a lot”
“ah yeah” y/n smiles, “i think i’ll go inside”
“goodnight” atsumu bids her farewell and she smiles.
that’s right, come to me darling.
she knocks gently and he calls for her to entire. she opens the door slowly and her eyes widen at how big his study is.
he looks beautiful even in the low light. glasses suit him and his smile made her feel warm inside. she didn’t feel so uneasy when he was around.
“oh, this is a pleasant surprise” he grins, “is something wrong?”
“i just couldn’t sleep” y/n admits, closing the door behind her, “am i interrupting?”
“of course not” he shakes his head immediately, “you can sit with me whenever you want darling, would you like a book to read?”
she smiles then and walks further into the study and towards the large bookcases.
“you’re more than welcome to come in here whenever you want” kiyoomi hands her a throw blanket as she makes herself comfortable on the couch. “after all, what’s mine is yours”
he watches her closely as her eyes begin to droop and he wants nothing more than to reach out and hold her but he knows he runs cold and it would be a while before she got used to his touch.
“so beautiful, even when you sleep” he sighs, “do you know how much i’ve wanted you?”
there have been others but none as beautiful as you are. i didn’t keep them either but their fates were already decided when the village elders sent out their names.
i can still hear the song of the brides as they were each carried on their sedans, brought into the cold forest and left there.
this way, is easier. i got to choose my bride and this time, i intend to keep you.
“what are your thoughts on having children?” kiyoomi asks. they’ve spent the morning sending out their wedding invitations and y/n would be going home until the wedding day.
“oh” y/n shrugs awkwardly, “i’ve never really thought about it and i’m not sure if i want to have any”
“i see” he smiles, “then we won’t have any if you don’t want to”
i would never have to share you with anyone ever again. you’ll only be with me.
y/n smiles up at him as he stands to get ready for work. he kisses the top of head, something he’s doing since the first morning they had breakfast together and she finds that she doesn’t mind.
she isn’t sure she wants to go back home but she knows she has to because it’s not appropriate for them to be so domestic before their actual wedding day.
“wait for me tonight and i’ll take you home” he says, “you can spend the day in the garden if you like or the study”
“thank you” she finds herself saying and he grins down at her.
“there’s no need to thank me” he cups her face gently, “i’m just happy to see you smiling”
she ignores the way that makes her feel, the butterflies in her stomach feel like a a tornado and she hates how disappointed she feels when he lets go and walks towards his study to get his work files.
you see it too, don’t you my love? you can’t be without me either.
“you don’t seem happy to be home” saeko grins, “do you miss the garden or kiyoomi?”
“oh, he’s no longer master?” y/n asks and saeko flicks her forehead.
“don’t try and change the subject” saeko says dryly, “do you miss him already?”
“.. maybe” she shrugs, reaching up to play with her chain, “it’s silly, i barely know him”
“does that matter?” saeko asks, “i haven’t seen you that happy and comfortable when you’re here”
y/n couldn’t argue with that. she felt free when she was with kiyoomi because he didn’t suffocate her and he was happy to just be in her presence without expecting anything in return.
“you’ll be with him forever after the wedding” saeko grins, “maybe you’ll have a child”
“he seems content to just have me” y/n looks down, suddenly feeling shy, “he said we don’t have to have any if i don’t want to”
“bare minimum but he’s a keeper” saeko says, “i’m excited for you now that you seem happier about the wedding and everything”
“i think he’ll make me happy” y/n smiles, “and i won’t have to see my parents as often”
good girl, you’ll only ever need me.
the room was cold, very cold and when she reached out to turn the lights on, it wouldn’t work. she could hear the faint sounds of a piano playing and the low humming of a man, a man that sounded so similar to kiyoomi that she couldn’t help but call out to him.
“kiyoomi?” she croaks out, her throat sore and scratchy. she couldn’t really recognise her surroundings but the scene before her caused her to scream and fall backwards.
there were people dressed in black, crying softly as the picture of kiyoomi sat in the middle of the room.
it was a funeral.
his funeral.
her screams are so loud that it wakes saeko up in the other room. she had stayed upstairs with y/n instead of heading into the servants quarters where the parents expected her to stay.
“y/n, wake up it’s just a dream” saeko gently shakes her shoulders, turning the bedside lamp on, “hey, it’s okay, you’re okay”
y/n can’t really think straight, still struggling to catch her breath as she wraps her arms tightly around saeko. she knows she shaking but she squeezes her eyes shut and tries to match her breathing with saeko’s.
“what was that?” saeko whispers, “you’ve never had nightmares before”
“i.. i don’t know” y/n chokes out, “it was just so cold”
“do you .. want to talk about it?” saeko asks gently, patting her head to help her relax.
“it was his funeral” y/n says softly, “like i could hear him humming softly but when i got closer to his study, the room changed and .. it was his funeral”
“it’s alright” saeko holds her tighter, “it was just a dream, he’s alright and so are you”
it just felt so real that y/n didn’t fall asleep again when saeko left. she said she’d be okay but she couldn’t get the image out her head no matter what she tried to do.
you see why you can’t leave me?
she doesn’t know why she tweets about it but everyone seems to think it’s normal and the amount of people praising sakusa makes her feel better. it was clear people knew who he was and he was obviously well liked.
it wasn’t like she was worried about any of that, she just didn’t like the dreams.
her phone ringing caused her to almost drop it.
“hello?” she says softly. she didn’t want to be too loud since it was way too early in the morning.
“darling, why didn’t you tell me you were having a hard time?”
“i.. i wasn’t sure how to talk about it” she sighs, “it’s never happened before so i must really be nervous. i didn’t want anyone to worry”
“i’d worry about you anyway”
“could you maybe.. come see me later?” she asks, “i know the wedding is in 2 days but i want—”
“of course” he says, “i’ll be there in an hour”
“isn’t it too early? you have to work” she frowns, glancing at her bedside clock, it read 5:56 am.
“i’m never too busy for you, wait for me”
“okay” she smiles, already feeling better.
when she opens the door to find him standing there, her body moves before she can think about it and she wraps her arms around his neck, pulling him down to hold him close.
“oh..” he grins, pulling her flush against him, “this is a lovely surprise”
“i just missed you” she mumbles but he still hears it loud and clear and he smiles, kissing the side of her head.
“i missed you too” he whispers, “do you want me to lay down with you?”
she nods. it was far too early to be awake and her parents would soon be getting up for their day and she didn’t want to see them right now.
closing the door quietly, she takes his hand and leads him up to her bedroom. the lamp is still on since the curtains are closed and the room feels cozy now that he’s with her.
he doesn’t wait for her to move closer, wrapping an arm around her, he pulls her against his chest.
“you could’ve slept like this with me at home” he chuckles, closing his eyes as he listens to her breathing.
“we only just met” she frowns, “i felt like this was overstepping but my dream really scared me”
“what happened?” he asks
“you were dead” she whispers, holding onto the back of his sweater tightly, “it was your funeral and there were people crying and everything felt so cold and scary that it was almost suffocating”
“look at me” he says and moves her back just a little. he cups the side of her face and forces her to look at him.
“kiyo—”
“i’m not going anywhere” he tells her, “it feels like i’ve waited lifetimes just to be with you”
she sniffs as wipes her eyes.
“i won’t ever leave your side” he promises, “you’ll never have to worry about anything or anyone ever again”
she nods and leans closer to him. she knows it’s wrong but she can’t help wanting to be closer and when he leans down to close the gap between them, she gasps into the kiss. his lips are soft and while his body runs cold, his kisses are so warm that she sighs and wraps her arms around him again.
“you won’t leave me, right?” he asks and she nods
“good girl” he smiles, kissing her again.
i have you now. you’ll always be mine, y/n.
she falls asleep to the sound of him humming softly. it’s comforting and she finds herself having the best sleep she’s had in months.
the morning of the wedding, she sat still as her mother fixed her hair. it was the only time she ever had her mother make such a fuss over her. she was grateful for saeko and kaori, it helped her not cry.
she didn’t want to ruin her makeup.
you’re just so beautiful, why wouldn’t i want to keep you forever? you’re the perfect sacrifice. i suppose i could grant this town a few blessings.
unless you told me not to. i would do anything for you.
kiyoomi could hardly keep his eyes off her as she stood in front of him. he could hardly focus on the bows or anything else as he watched her face through the pretty red veil.
she never needed makeup but her eyes were so much more prominent with the dark eyeliner. he could only think about finally making her his.
“beautiful” he whispers and he can see the way she smiles shyly. a smile only for him.
he could see her friends glancing at each other, trying to be discreet with their texting but there was nothing they could do now. he smirks as he makes eye contact with satori.
he must’ve always had his suspicions but after all, stories are just stories aren’t they?
saeko would do whatever she could to mark sure y/n was happy or he would just have to get rid of her.
no one would dare come between them or he would wipe the whole town out.
the bed was covered in a deep shade of red, matching her wedding dress. she sat patiently with her hands in her lap as she waited for him to join her.
she kept her veil down, knowing he had to remove it for her.
she was nervous but she knew she wanted to be with kiyoomi and it was clear he definitely wanted her just as much.
“lie down for me darling” he whispers, kissing her jaw as he slips the rest of his clothing off. she laid bare before him and he smirked, trailing his fingers up her thigh, stopping at her neck to squeeze gently.
“kiyoomi” she whispers, “please”
“i know” he tells her, “i just want to look at you”
i will never look at anyone the way i look at you.
he wanted to tell her everything, how he had seen her at that café she frequented. how he had set everything in motion for her greedy father and how it was just to easy to have them offer her up on a silver platter, all for him.
she gaps, grabbing onto his bicep as he slowly pushes into her. it hurt but she found herself moaning louder, wrapping her legs around his waist. she wanted all of him.
mine.. all mine..
he never cared for any of their offerings. he was almost 700 years old now and while he doesn’t remember much about the previous offerings, he knows he never cared as much as he does now.
you were so perfect and exactly what he wanted. before you, he had plans to get rid of the town that had conjured him up all those years ago for their own selfish desires.
“more omi, please” she begs, eyes tearing up when you feel him press deeper into you, his body so close that it almost felt like you were burning up.
he could give you that and so much more. he would give you everything you asked for.
“fuck, you feel so soft and warm” he whispers, gripping the back of your thigh and lifting it towards your chest.
like this he was even deeper, fucking you into the bed. your new bed that you’d spend your forever in.
“so good” she can’t help but cry out for him.
she’s never felt anything this intense before, he own fingers were nothing compared to the way he fucked her.
he knew exactly where to touch and where to kiss.
“tell me baby, who do you belong to?” he asks, gripping her jaw to force her to keep eye contact.
“you” she moans, “i’m all yours”
he believed her words to be true because he felt the way her pussy clenched tightly around his cock. a virgin, he grins down when he sees the tiny droplets of blood. it only made him harder, closing his eyes to keep his composure.
you have no idea.

blowin' off steam

“Y’know … ya can't keep usin’ me as a way to blow off steam after a bad date.”
Atsumu’s words are emphasised when you feel the nip of his teeth against your lower lip, biting down just enough for you to feel the slightest sting.
Your roommate is many things, but subtle isn’t one of them.
The gesture makes you laugh, the sound all breathless and hazy as you fumble with shaky fingers to undo the back of your dress. With Atsumu’s shirt and joggers already tossed on the couch, you’re lagging considerably behind – though not for lack of enthusiasm.
Dipping his head in to kiss you again, you feel his strong hands reach up to assist your efforts to undress; before you have time to catch your breath, the red fabric falls to the floor to be swiftly kicked aside, landing in an untidy pile by the TV.
You moan in a voice that doesn’t even sound like your own. You paw at his bare chest with a confidence that seems alien to you, the desperation feeling like a force you can’t control.
And, truth be told, you’re not even sure how this routine developed.
Of course, you remember when he moved in last year, arriving at your door all sweaty and panting having come straight from volleyball practice to collect his key. You handed it to him wordlessly, eyes scanning over his muscular frame with a curious but sceptical outlook on what your shared living situation would be like.
You’d met Atsumu just once before then, at a party hosted by a mutual friend – the brother of your former roommate whose lease he ended up taking over – and you found him to be … fine. Pleasant enough. Saeko seemed to get along well with him.
Though he was more than a little hyperfocused on his own athletic achievements, having launched into the conversation expecting you to have a thorough understanding of college volleyball. You had, at best, an entry-level grasp on the sport.
When the conversation inevitably started to lag, you had contemplated kissing him to break the awkward silence.
It was late, you were tipsy, and he was hot. It seemed like as good a way as any to change the topic.
But he was whisked away by his drunken teammates before you had the chance, with them eager to show off their captain to anyone who would listen.
That’s the last you saw of him.
You were content on leaving things there, until your dear friend Saeko informed you that a friend of her brother’s wanted to move in when she graduated.
Atsumu Miya, she’d exclaimed, holding up the line in your favourite cafe as she talked, remember him?
He’d be the perfect candidate, she informed you in her usual exuberant manner, if you could overlook all the college athlete stuff, you’d get along great. He wouldn’t care about the broken ceiling light in the hallway or the next-door neighbour with four overly-zealous pet parakeets.
Not to mention all the parties he’d be able to get you into …
“Swear, he’s really not that bad,” Saeko chirped in between sips of her triple-shot americano, “Ryu told me he’s the only one who knows how to clean up after himself. And he’s in final year too, so you have that in common!”
Turns out, that’s the only thing you had in common.
It was a tense first couple of weeks. The two of you made polite conversation when in the kitchen at the same time, nodded in each other’s direction when passing by on campus, and even went out grocery shopping together a few times. He was a fine person to live with. He didn’t make that much of a mess and kept noise to a minimum.
However, the roommate bonding did not come naturally at all. It was awkward to the point where mealtimes grew unbearable, a constant barrier of silence hovering between the two of you, a reminder of how different you both were, how you live two distinct lives with no common threads.
That uneasy pattern continued until one night when you arrived home in the early evening, less than two hours into a Tinder date, a date you had been looking forward to for weeks.
You had brought it up to Atsumu in the context of polite but extremely stilted small-talk over cereal that morning, so he wasn’t expecting you home for several hours – if at all. You likely startled him because of this, his head snapping in your direction when he heard your key turn in the apartment door, sitting up suddenly from where he’d been laying down on the couch.
He flinched when you closed the door behind you a bit too forcefully.
“... everythin’ okay?” he asked slowly, hesitantly, unsure as to how badly the night had gone, and even more unsure as to whether he should ask about it.
You sighed and tipped your head back, eyes screwed shut with frustration – none of which was directed towards Atsumu, who just had the misfortune of being the first person you saw after Tinder Boy left the bar to take a call from his ex.
“Bad date, is all,” you mumbled, hanging your jacket on the hook by the door, trying your best to keep your temper on a tight leash. The last thing you wanted was to snap at Atsumu and turn your awkward living situation into a tense one.
“How bad?”
It’s nice that he cared, you supposed. Even if he was only asking out of courtesy.
Kicking off your heels before collapsing down on the couch next to Atsumu, you rubbed your tired eyes with the back of your hand, swearing under your breath when you remembered you were wearing mascara.
“Still in love with his ex of four years-level bad,” you answered despairingly, wiping at the mascara stain with your thumb. You were too exhausted to come up with a polite and watered-down version of events – may as well vent to someone, right? “They broke up before we started talking but got back together – without me knowing, obviously – and then she dumped him when she saw my messages this morning. He started crying before we even got the second round of drinks.”
A beat of silence passed, and for a moment you worried that you overshared to this practical stranger who just shares your communal living space.
“Well … that is a bad date,” Atsumu replied, and the earnestness with which he delivered it made you chuckle.
The chuckle turned to a laugh when Atsumu tried and failed to say something else, clearly lost for words at how to console someone in your situation, the cogs in his head turning over and over.
“Who is this guy, anyway?” he eventually settled on asking, his bright eyes fixed on your face for signs of discomfort. Seeing none, the corners of his mouth quirk upwards for a split second.
“The captain of the soccer team,” you mumbled in a quiet, defeated tone, already wanting to forget he ever existed. You had deleted his number before even getting in your taxi home.
At that, Atsumu barked out a laugh that shocked you out of your self-pitying stupor.
“What?” you asked defensively.
“Holy shit … him? I coulda told you he was a waste!” he grinned, shaking his head as he spoke. “You shoulda told me before goin’ out with him – guy’s known for pullin’ shit like that. A complete mess.”
You groaned, being met with another chuckle from your half-pitying, half-amused roommate. If you were in any other frame of mind, you could have stopped to appreciate how easy the conversation was, particularly in contrast to the ones you’ve shared before.
Even though the humour was technically at your own expense.
“Couldn’t you just give me a blanket warning about student athletes?”
He clutched his chest with mock offence. “Don’t you dare group us all with him. He’s the worst of us, promise.”
Rolling out your shoulder to release some of your stress, you noticed the strap of your dress has fallen down a bit. You fixed it absent-mindedly, paying no attention to the path Atsumu’s eyes were following.
“I’ll take your word for it,” you said light-heartedly.
“Appreciate it.”
A beat of silence passed, though it’s not nearly comparable to the ones you’ve shared before. This was nice, comfortable, natural.
It made you want to keep talking to him.
“I spent two hours getting ready for this, y’know?” you lamented through bittersweet laughter, finally starting to appreciate the humour of the situation. “Picked out a nice dress, painted my nails. I even shaved every -- nevermind.”
Your face heated the moment the words left your mouth, conscious of how much you just revealed. Things between the two of you were going from nice to comfortable to potentially too comfortable, and you felt you needed to dial it back before scaring him off.
Oh, you really hoped you hadn’t made things weird, or potentially wrecked the only bonding moment you’ve had since moving in.
But Atsumu didn’t seem too bothered by it.
Instead, he just stood up from the couch, walked wordlessly over to the door and shrugged on his own jacket, using his hands to style his messy hair into something more deliberately messy.
“What are you doing?” you asked, perplexed. He hadn’t mentioned anything about having plans that night, and it seemed a peculiar point in the conversation to just up and leave.
He turned to face you again, shooting you that blinding grin you hadn’t appreciated since that first time you met.
“Wanna go out for a drink instead?”
—
You woke up the following morning in a bed that didn’t feel like your own.
Strange, you thought to yourself as you buried your head into the pillow, you fully remember getting home last night - you only had two drinks the whole time you were with Atsumu - and you don’t remember talking to anyone else.
Once the tiredness wore off and you finally opened your eyes, you sat up in bed with a start and a gasp.
“Mornin’,” Atsumu yawned from right beside you, bleach-blonde hair once again ruffled from sleep. He lifted his arms to stretch, shifting the covers in a way that showed –
Yep, still naked. Both of you.
“Holy shit,” you hissed under your breath, tucking the covers back over your chest.
“Language,” he scolded, amusement leaching into every syllable. He propped himself up on his elbow, biceps tensing in a way you pretend you couldn’t see, and he just looked at you, casually observing the state of shock you were sinking into.
He did not seem to grasp the gravity of the situation whatsoever.
“We slept together, Atsumu!”
Your statement was a little redundant, you know that, but you felt as though the words needed to be spoken aloud in order for them to actually feel real.
Atsumu just nodded plainly, eyes twinkling as he took in your reaction. He didn’t seem rejected or dismayed, just … entertained. Curious. Like he was watching a rerun of one of his old favourite volleyball matches.
“Yes, we did.”
“You don’t – people don’t sleep with their roommates!” you blurted out, gesticulating in a way that verged on the overdramatic. Your heart pounded in your chest, and whether it was from embarrassment, adrenaline, something else, you weren’t sure.
He tilted his head to the side, puzzled. “Why not?”
You refused to answer his question; instead, you slid out of his bed, searching frantically for your clothes.
“That can’t … we can’t … we need to pretend that never happened,” you muttered, giving up on your search for your dress and grabbing one of Atsumu’s sweatshirts from his closet, draping it over yourself.
“Sure,” he drawled, entirely pleased at the image before him.
Through it all, you managed to roll your eyes.
“Atsumu,” you hissed, hurriedly grabbing your underwear from where you spotted it on the floor, “I mean it.”
“Okay,” he drawled as you let the door shut behind you, with an assuredness you didn’t understand at the time.
Your next Tinder date was three weeks later, and it didn’t take long for you to figure out Atsumu’s sudden confidence.
You didn’t intend on it becoming a pattern. Really, you didn’t.
But whenever you went on a shitty date – and knowing college boys, that happened fairly often – it was always so refreshing to know you had someone as charming as Atsumu waiting at home for you.
Atsumu, who knew what he was doing when it came to sex.
Atsumu, who you had developed so much trust for these past few months.
Atsumu, who you could rely on. Who you got along with.
Sometimes you’d only spend a few minutes talking to a new guy before making up your mind that you’d be spending the night in your roommate’s bedroom.
And tonight is no different.
Anticipation flowing through your veins, you feel your shoulders land against the soft couch cushions as Atsumu lowers you down, his hand somehow supporting your back and unhooking your bra at the same time.
He joins you on the couch, his giant frame wrapping around you as he presses kisses to every inch of skin he can.
“So, how bad was that date?” he asks diplomatically, politely, as if you can’t feel the hardness pressed against your stomach.
Your face burns under Atsumu’s careful attentions, mind already hazy. “I don’t wanna talk about him right now.”
Atsumu peers up from where he was kissing at the swell of your breasts, his eyes sharp and focused, a glint in them that you recognise as he starts to dip his head lower and lower.
“Good,” he mumbles, his lips on your ribcage, stomach, leaving trails of goosebumps until he’s on his knees on the floor. “I don’t really wanna hear ya talk about him either.”
You groan as Atsumu’s fingers trail along the band of your underwear, tugging milimeter by milimeter. You cant your hips up to allow him access.
“Wonder how he’d feel if he knew?” he ponders quietly, slipping the delicate fabric down your legs to be tossed to the side like the rest of your clothes.
“Hm?” you ask, distracted by the contrasting sensations of the cool air and Atsumu’s warm breath against your skin.
“I said,” Atsumu repeats carefully, using the tip of his tongue to trace a path along the inside of your thighs. “I wonder how he’d feel? Your date - knowin’ I get to taste ya tonight when he can’t?”
“Atsumu,” you choke out, the sound emerging as a pitiful mewl. Your hands bunch into fists at your sides, so tightly wound your knuckles start to ache.
He’s at the divot between your legs now, kissing and licking everywhere except where you so desperately need him, everywhere except the place that’s been throbbing for him since you started getting ready for this date.
“Yeah?” he says casually, with the confidence of someone who has you on a knife’s edge, someone who knows your body well enough now that he can tease and taste and draw things out to his heart’s contest.
You gasp, chest rising and falling erratically, sweat beading on your forehead as you writhe underneath him.
“P–please.”
Taking pity, he finally presses his tongue flat against you, tasting what’s been making his mouth water for months now.
You can feel him grin as he starts to suck on your swollen clit.
Your spine jackknifes off the couch almost immediately, the heat of Atsumu’s mouth and his talented tongue proving to be too much at once.
But you don’t ask him to stop. If anything, you spur him on, fingers twisting into his soft hair and crying out his name as if you hadn’t already received three noise complaints this month alone.
“‘Tsumu–” you gasp, hips bucking up against his mouth. “Don’t stop, please, ‘Tsumu, please …”
Atsumu hums, the vibrations resonating against your already-sensitive folds; he did it because he knows it makes you shiver against him, and he succeeds at doing so.
Every flick of his tongue, every careful switch in pressure, it all compounds in a swell of heat that gathers low and steady in your core.
Two fingers press at your entrance and are met with no resistance, slipping inside and almost instantly hitting that spot that only Atsumu ever seems to reach. Every cell in your body feels ignited, buzzing with energy and tension ready to snap like a rubber band.
He’s so good at this. Talented with every part of his body – and he always gets you off first, making sure you’ve come on his hands or his tongue before he even thinks about fucking you.
But that alone isn’t why you keep coming back to him after every date.
The sex is great, obviously, but there’s something about the way he handles you, a gentle possessiveness that stays with you long after you go back to your own room the following morning, an unspoken tenderness you can’t quite place.
He touches you like he’s in awe every single time.
Before you can think any further, he has his lips wrapped around your clit again and sucks, sucks until your vision goes white, until you’re about to –
“‘Tsumu I’m gonna come I’m gonna come–”
And you burn up underneath him, oblivious to anything else in the world but the feeling of his fingers pressing inside you, how he licks you through it under the waves subside.
Once your legs are steady enough to support you, he has you flipped around so your elbows are resting on the couch cushions, your hips propped upwards, eager to feel him inside you.
You feel his hands on your ass, spreading you open with unintelligible but undoubtedly praising murmurs, admiring his work.
Then, you feel the length of his cock press against you – not inside, but against your soaking flesh, circling slowly  – as he sees how easily you’d take him, how you just suck him in, how you’re subconsciously backing up against him in order to get more friction.
It’s only when you’re on the verge of sobbing that he sinks inside to the hilt, hissing out a groan through his teeth as he feels you wrap around him so tightly.
If you wanted to, you could tell him that you spent the whole date tonight thinking about this, but he already knows that – you’d said something to that effect in a fucked-out haze about five or so dates ago.
Or you could tell him that nobody’s as good as him, but he’s (acutely) aware of that, too. You’re more than fond of the man at this point and you don’t mind padding his ego, but you can think of more creative ways to get him going.
So you deepen the arch of your back, spreading your legs wider for him to fuck into you, your fingers aching once again from how you’re gripping the couch for leverage.
He groans, the sound all low and drawn out, biting down on his lower lip to stifle it.
“Ya drive me crazy, y’know that?”
You smirk against the couch cushion. “I know.”
“B- but I told ya earlier,” he continues, his breathing heavy and unsteady. “I – we can’t keep doin’ it like this, after your dates.”
That takes you by surprise. You thought it was just a throwaway line, that it didn’t mean anything.
Does he want to stop hooking up?
“Why?” you ask, keeping your question to just one word so as to not give your panic away in your voice.
“Because,” he mutters, “Cos what if ya meet someone ya really like on one of those dates?”
The idea alone bothers him enough that he speeds up his thrusts, the sound of his hips slapping against your ass echoing around the living room.
Amidst the overwhelming sensation, you just about manage to articulate a response.
“What if I already have?”
He slows, hips still moving in and out but at about half the speed they were just moments before, and you feel one of his giant hands grip your hip for leverage.
As always, it’s firm but careful. Tender, even.
“You mean that?” he asks, thumb tracing soft circles at your hipbone.
You turn your head slightly, peering up at him over your shoulder. You smile with the full knowledge he knows the answer already, he just needs you to confirm it.
“Yeah,” you say with sincerity.
“So no more dates?” he asks, starting to fuck you in earnest again.
You laugh breathlessly, hazily. “No more dates.”

Been working on this for a few months now but I finally got it done! I've seen a few Yakuza/Like a Dragon x Animal Crossing crossovers and really wanted to do one too, and I'm super happy with how it turned out:) Seeing all of the Dondoko Island comparisons to AC right before I finished this was HILARIOUS though😂 Gonna put some loose notes under a read more if you want behind the scenes stuff. Let me know who your favorite design is if you want:)
Adding what animal everyone is (just in case it's hard to tell and because I want to talk about why I made some of them certain animals)
Ichiban: Lion (he has a very loud personality and very loud hair)
Adachi: Bear (I will restrain myself from making any bear jokes but he does look like he'd give great bear hugs)
Nanba: Koala (okay, weird reason, but my sister used to have this webkinz koala named Snoozer (he was the mayor of our imaginary town but that's not important) and he was obvs always sleepy, and Nanba is the KING of convenient naps in battle)
Saeko: Deer (i really just thought she'd love to paint her hooves)
Joon-gi: Wolf (typical lone-wolf-type with white hair who is dragged into the found family). He also gets the bar bg because he never got his own karaoke song and he deserves to have fun:)
Zhao: Tiger (i specifically remember him having a tiger in his restaurant that kicked my ass, and I also wanted to base him off of one of his martial arts moves. Since Snake and Mantis aren't AC types, and Crane was already being used, I thought Tiger was fitting. Also his shirt was a pain to make!! I couldn't replicate the actual pattern, so I went with ginkgo leaves for something that was still gold and sort of ornate)
Eri: Crane (inspired by her move (called 'Flying Crane' or something like that; i'm too lazy to boot up the game and check lol) Plus I think birds would really enjoy the crackers her company sells:)

Tumblr media
Nothing beat the rush you felt when you first got on stage. Your nerves turned into fire, melting everything around you. Any and all feelings of doubt would get caught up in the flames, clearing the way for you to light up the stage. All you needed was your trusty guitar and your fellow bandmates to get started. Each time you went on stage, the lights would beat down on you only to heighten the passion you had for what you did. Looking out to the sea of people never felt scary, in fact, it exhilarated you. They were here to see your band play. To win. And the last thing you wanted to do was disappoint them. it fueled the adrenaline that was already coursing through your veins. Buzzing, you were more than ready to give them the show of a lifetime.
But of course, there was balance in the world. With a great rush, comes an even greater buzzkill. Always lingering around corners, ready to strike whenever you had let your guard down. It hadn’t always been like this, but it easily manifested into this push and pull of power between the two of you.
Semi Eita.
The actual bane to your existence.
Tonight was your fourth time at Battle of the Bands. The last two times you guys had won first, eliciting the most applause from the crowd. It was exhilarating and you were determined to get it every year, no matter the cost.
Battle of the Bands was notorious for being a bloodbath between bands, but you never anticipated it to get so brutal. At first, it scared you shitless. So many people backstage yelling over one another, sabotaging each other’s wardrobes or even instruments. Just a constant rivalry between bands that started drama after drama.
Your bandmates usually didn’t participate in it, save for your drummer, Saeko. Normally, she didn’t start the feuds but she had no problem in finishing them. Your lead vocalist, Yachi, was always too concerned with calming her nerves before she tore it up on stage and Kiyoko, your bassist, never ran into any trouble. Probably because her boyfriend would go unleash hell on everyone if they tried it.
But this year, the energy felt different. Everyone was fired up, ready to snag the win this year. Even your bandmates seemed more fired up this time around. Probably because the winner also would win a hefty prize this year. Usually it was just bragging rights and good publicity, but this year was more intense.  A record deal was at stake.
His band was up next so he was tuning one of his new guitars. The bastard insisted on getting a red one right after you had posted yours on instagram. He knew he pissed you off and it only encouraged him. He’d never been one for the petty arguments and dramatic sabotages, but when he first met you, he just couldn’t help himself.
The way you were so nervous at first, taking it all in, watching your back. No one else dared messed with you, so he had the opportunity to have you all to himself. Instantly, you found him annoying. He was always making passive aggressive comments towards you, sneering at you as you walked by, even going so far as posting a video of you tripping on twitter that regrettably went viral.
Now, you never let him get away with that kind of stuff. It still happened, but you’ve managed to get him back a few times. Snapping back at him anytime he decided to make silly comments towards you, sticking your tongue out at him anytime he decided to sneer at you, and getting him to apologize on twitter for embarrassing you. (Your fans mostly handled that one for you but it was still a sight to see his half-assed apology he wrote on his notes app uploaded onto twitter). The real kicker was when you slept with his drummer. That shut him up for a solid couple weeks.
His band took the stage, the crowd already cheering at their mere appearance. Objectively, they were a good looking group. Each of them had their own edgy style, confidence practically pouring off of them the moment they would get on the stage. It wasn’t surprising that most of the girls had pushed their way up to the front for their performance, screaming at the guys to notice them whilst tearing each other down.
Semi took it all in. Nothing beats the feeling of this. Being desired, being acknowledged, being appreciated. He was addicted to it. Plus, he got to play music with some of his favorite people in the world. His bandmates were like his brothers, and he wouldn’t be where he was today without them.
Everytime he took the stage, it was like a flip was switched. He went from being just a regular guy who worked as a civil servant to Semi Eita, the rockstar. His ultimate persona, the one that woo’d the stage and made people remember his name. His truest self, the one he wanted to be since he was a kid. He could just let loose and be himself; something he didn’t have the luxury of doing in his normal 9-5.
Looking to the side past the drawn back curtains, he can see a scowl take up your face. Another added bonus to getting up on stage. As he was one of the first acts of the night, he was able to command the crowd’s attention better. Most of them are still sober and fully invested in the music. The winner of last year’s battle had to go last, so you’d be hanging out on the side for a while.
The lights lowered down so they weren’t casted fully on his face. He was thankful that his vocalist asked them to turn it down because he’d get sweaty enough as is. With a nod to his bandmates, they were ready to play their song.
One beat, two beats, three beats, four.  The stage exploded with sound, diving right into it. Semi’s hands flew over his guitar, strumming it like he was born to do it. Flashing a smile to the crowd as they all immediately go wild over the music they were playing.
Goosebumps threatened to litter your arms, so you clapped your hands over it trying to push them back down. You might’ve hated the guy, but hell, he was talented.
The moment he struck his guitar had you hooked. It was no secret that he was the band’s main talent. His guitar skills rivaled yours, which only made you hate him more.
“You’re tapping your foot.” Saeko pointed out, smirking at you.
“No I’m not, shut the fuck up.” You snap back, stilling your foot while heat rises to your face. Each band was able to play 4 songs. Your band did it so each instrument had a song they could flourish in, showing off their true skills. It’s how you’ve been able to win the past 2 years. But it looks like Semi’s band caught on, as they were all playing the best you’ve ever seen them play.
The worst part is how good he looked on stage. He had an aura about him tonight and it was drawing everyone in. Once he opened his mouth to sing, it was over. His deep voice overpowering the room, all the attention was on him. He looked like he was in his element, like this was exactly where he was meant to be.
By the end of their set, he was dripping in his own sweat. He waltzed off the stage, coming face to face with you. The smile he had on his face was almost infectious, but you held it together. The rush of coming off of a set beat any other high in the world. His face was still flushed, a droplet of sweat glided down his face and all you wanted to do was lick it off. The pre-performance nerves and his newfound confidence had your mind reeling.
Luckily, he was feeling the exact same way. His eyes were wild as they latched onto yours, a silent agreement made the moment they met. Semi somehow always seemed to find you after his sets. Usually, he’d taunt you to no end but today felt different. His hands still felt on fire from how intensely he was playing his guitar. He played his best performance to date and he couldn’t help but want to be around you. To brag, yes, but also he wanted to see your reaction — maybe get your approval.
His eyes flickered down to the revealing outfit you had decided to wear for your set today. A short dress with ripped thigh high tights. How cliche. The mood switched and he was instantly pissed off, tensing his jaw as his eyes flit back up to yours. You looked too good to be dressed like that for the crowd, it only made him more frustrated.
A small nod from you and the two of you didn’t need to say anything else as you guys made your way further backstage to one of the closets that was tucked away. You both slipped inside, Semi quickly closing the door behind you.
Semi wasted no time, roughly pushing you against the wall, caging you in between his long arms. He didn’t want to hear something snarky come out of your mouth so he placed his lips over yours, swallowing the taunting words that were itching to fire past your wicked mouth.
The after-performance glow was radiating off him, pouring over you while your pre-show nerves were still setting in. Your teeth clashed against his, knocking together in something that was too messy to keep up with. Neither of you could contain yourselves, Semi was already unbuttoning his jeans while you're pushing your panties to the side, slipping a finger in to prep yourself. It was almost too easy to lose yourself in him.
“You just crave attention don't you, the way you wear the skimpiest outfits on stage. You think the only way for you to win would be with a little fan service, huh?” He tsked, smirking and pushing aside your hands to take off your panties in a fluid motion. “Shame you don’t have more faith in your actual music.”
“Like your vocalist doesn’t. How many times do I have to see Suna shirtless for you guys to finally win? Maybe you’ll get it next year.” You fired back, clawing at his shirt so you could rip it off of him. Semi had taken his shirt off at a few shows so you knew how delicious his abs looked. You ran your fingers down them, relishing in the way he sucked in a breath. Your finger lightly traced over the tattoos he had scattered around his body.
“Looks like it’s working on you, isn’t it? Besides, I think we have a decent shot at winning tonight. I mean, even you’re so impressed that you want me to fuck you.” He grabbed you by the back of your head and pulled you in for a searing kiss. It pained you how true it was. He was on fire up there today and there was a good chance he could win. But your band had yet to play and you weren’t done. Your lips moved against his ferociously, saying everything you didn’t actually have the words for. How much you hate him, how much he frustrates you, how good he feels pressed up against you. Each second your lips were against his was a second too long but you hardly cared.
“I still hate you, you know.” You rasped into his mouth, trying to get a word in as he continued to attack your swollen lips. Fed up with you interrupting his make out session, he kisses down your throat to the junction between your neck and shoulder blade, sinking his teeth in before swirling his tongue around to soothe the sting. You let out a low hiss, holding his head in place as he sucked against it.
“Glad the feelings mutual.” He said gruffly into your skin. He needed to be inside of you, he was done with your antics for the night. The room spins as Semi turns you quickly, roughly pinning you against the wall. Your face collided with the cold concrete. It was grounding you on some level, the fog started to clear from your head. Until he pressed himself into your backside, rocking his hips against you, craving some sort of friction.
“Go on then. Stop wasting my time, I have to perform soon.” You wiggled your ass on his hard cock, trying to get him to pick up the pace. It was almost cute how much you wanted him, but Semi knew he needed you to say it. To admit to wanting him, the one you drove insane, the one you had teased long enough, your dear rival.
A low laugh filled the tiny space as you felt him tap his cock against you, taunting you and making a show over his power. Slipping his hard length between your thighs, he started to move his hips. You couldn’t hold the small whine from leaving your throat. The side of your closed fist meets the wall, frustration bubbling inside of you. “Seriously?”
“It's cute you think you’re in control here. Ask nicely and maybe I’ll consider fucking your slutty little cunt.” He slid his cock up further between your legs, brushing his tip against your clit before he continued his ministrations. The action had you clenching around nothing, desperately trying to seek for more friction from him. Your slick covered his cock, making it glide so much easier between the apex of your thighs.
“Semi please.” You moaned out, biting your fist to try and quiet yourself. He ripped your hand out of your mouth and pinned it against your back, securing it in place. The small stretch in your shoulder was welcome as Semi manhandled you, adjusting you so you were right where he wanted. He leaned closer, his voice fanning the side of your face.
“Couldn't catch that, what did you say?” He sneered, running his other hand up your side to latch onto your breasts, teasing each nipple. His cock continued to slide between your thighs, winding you up more and more.
“Semi please fuck me, need to feel you, please!” You cried out, not caring about how loud you were being. The next band was probably on stage anyway, drowning out any noises the two of you were making.
“That's funny, I don't think that’s my name.”
“Eita.” You whined softly. It was more than enough for him as he shoved his cock in your wet cunt. Filling you up deliciously, he eased himself in quickly, reluctantly feeling just as impatient as you. The stretch had you seeing stars. He didn’t bother waiting too long for you to adjust before he was slamming into you with all his might, fueled by his post-show adrenaline. With your one hand pinned against your back and the other being used to hold yourself up against the wall, all you could do was bite your lip to try and hold back your moans.
There wasn’t much of a point to it though, even though the music was playing off in the distance, anyone walking by the closet would know exactly what was going on. Between the squelching from your cunt and you and Semi’s shared moans, it wasn’t hard to figure out what was going on. Semi was entranced with the way your tight cunt sucked him in. His eyes couldn’t look away, It almost scared him how good this felt. He needed to remedy that, so he’d do it in the only way he knew how to with you.
“So tight around me. Don’t you feel pathetic? Thought you hated me and yet you’re letting me use you like some slut.” He teased in your ears. Tears burned in your eyes from his truthful words as well as how fucking good he felt. You didn’t care how pathetic it seemed, it was worth it in the end.
“Shut up Eita.” You fired back, meeting your hips to match his thrusts. His hips stuttered against yours before he picked the pace back up, invigorated. His other hand reached around you, playing with your neglected nub. “C-could say the same thing about you.”
There wasn’t any point in covering your moans so you let it out.
“You make the sluttiest sounds. Everyone will know exactly what we’re doing.” he laughed, letting go of your arm to smack your ass, enjoying the view of how much it bounced with each thrust he gave you. semi knew he wasn’t going to last much longer but he needed you to finish first. “I can feel you clenching around me so tightly. Maybe someone wants to get caught. Wouldn’t that be something? Imagine the headlines. You’d really go viral then, huh?”
“Bet you want us to get caught so you can get some clout for once.” You moaned, malice lacing your voice.
“Shut up.” He demanded, wrapping a hand around your throat. He didn’t squeeze, but he held it there, a looming, empty threat. “Just take my cock like a good little slut, yeah?”
Words escaped you as he thrusted into you harder, each thrust fueled by the hate he held for you. Or at least, that’s what he told himself. His mind reeled as your tight walls wrapped around his cock, trying to pull him even deeper.
“You gonna cum f’ me?” He asked. “Go ahead, cum all over my cock. Show me how good I make you feel.”
You keen, the coil inside of you threatening to snap. With semi’s sinful words and his talented fingers working away at your nub, you let it all go. Practically crying his name out, you cum all over his cock. He didn’t bother stopping, fucking you through your orgasm leading you right to overstimulation.
“Good girl.” He groaned, relishing in the feeling of your fluttering walls. How could something so evil feel so good? You were the perfect little sin and he knew that you were going to be the death of him. It would be a hell of a way to go. “Gonna cum in you, princess. Gonna make you my little cumdump.” Both of his hands were secured on your hips, fucking into you like his life depended on it. His hips thrusted up into you, the tip of his cock repeatedly hitting your sweetest spot.
“No, don’t you fucking dare.” You moaned out.
“Why not? You let me last time.” he smirked. He liked to remind you that no matter what you said or how you acted, you’d always come crawling back to him. The little situation between the two of you had been going on for quite some time. Besides, he knew you liked it when he came inside of you, filling you with all of his seed. The way you clenched around his cock only solidified that.
“Because this time I have to go on stage.” You clutched onto the wall, meeting his thrusts yet again, almost encouraging him to cum inside of you. The thought of you performing at battle of the bands with him cum fucked deep inside of you made him groan, hips stuttering as he was getting painfully close.
“Please.” he whispered out, even though he knew you wanted him too, he needed to hear you say it.
“Eita please cum in me.” You cried out, dangerously past the line of overstimulation and well on your way to another orgasm. He groaned as he watched your hand reach between your legs, getting yourself off to how Semi used your cunt to his pleasure.
“F-fuck.” He groaned out your name, pushing all the way into you as he came hard, gripping onto your hips so tightly you knew they’d leave a lasting reminder of this. You release as he’s still slowly thrusting into you, milking him for all he’s worth. You look backed at him while riding out your orgasm and see his head tossed back, totally fucked out. His jaw was slack as he gazed down at you with half-lidded eyes. Absolutely wiped from performing earlier and pumping all his cum into you.
You couldn’t choke back the whine that escaped you as he pulled out. His fingers quickly found your entrance, pushing all of his cum back into you. Your knees buckled from the overstimulation, but he easily caught you, slipping his fingers back out.
“Easy there. Might want to steady yourself because I think you’re up next.” He teased as you turned around to face him. He reached up to your eyes, smudging out some of the makeup that had started to run down your face. Even though he hated you, he didn’t want you to go up on stage looking totally fucked out. Besides, he planned on meeting up with you after the set anyway.
“You’re such an ass.” You huffed, pulling your panties up to keep the cum from dripping down your leg. You adjust the thigh highs that were barely hanging on — somewhat pooled around your ankles. He laughed at you struggling, enjoying the fact that you were about to get on stage with his cum buried deep inside of you. “Shut up. I hate you.”
“Sure you do.” He nodded, throwing his shirt back on. and ruffling up his hair.
“That was the last time.” you muttered, getting ready to leave the closet as you heard the band finishing up their set. You were up next and all your nerves came rushing back.
“Whatever you say princess.”

Lying on their chest while they are on their back on the couch. You and them watching movies from your childhood including: Drum Line. Juice, Love & Basketball, Friday, and many many more, you explaining all the lore to them while they have one arm rubbing up and down your back the other one in your humming and asking questions every now and then to show that they are listening and intrigued. [daichi, anoe, yamamoto, semi, matsukawa,]
— You're used to hearing them wandering around the room getting ready for work, and waking up usually waking up to the noise but today you didn't, matta fact .. you didn't even hear the alarm go off, you groan as you turn over to see that they are still asleep. You slide up behind them wiggling your “ice cold” toes between their calves and shake their shoulders to wake them up. They jump up with a quickness thanking you for waking them up, as they rush about trying to get ready, but ofc they cant forget to come back and give you your “see you later” kiss. [konoha, tendō, osamau, ukai, kenma] — ORRRR you're usually the one who gets up earlier than them but today is your day off so you're going to sleep in and get some extra sleep. They are tiptoeing around while getting ready trying not to wake or disturb you because you really need this sleep. They come back in the room and fix their side of the bed then coming to your side you read just you and your head scarf, kissing your forehead goodbye. They might have stood there watching you gravity towards their side of the bed and snuggle into their pillow.. But you can't prove it. [yakuu, saeko, asahi, koganwgawa] — Let's talk about how they hover around you when you're cooking not only because it smells good but you like to have them taste test the food. Coming around the corner, spoon in one hand while the other one is under the spoon catching anything that might fall, you hold their chin as you let them try the food. Even if they rain down praise on everything they taste and are truly no help, you still have fun as you dance around the kitchen with them. {they also try to sneak an extra taste while they think you're not pay attention but gets caught every single time} [hinata, hanamaki, atsumu, ninshinoya, daishō] — They’ve grown to love Sundays. The idea of cleaning and listening to music with you all day ??? sooo domestic. Yall typically split the cleaning, there are no specific “rolls” per say, yall just do what yall wanna do. You are always in charge of the playlist because you are having the bestest songs ever. Don't let Let's Groove by Earth, Wind & Fire play because clean????? When let's groove playing??? Ain't no way baby. [sakusa, yachi, kita, kai, takeda] — They've always come back to you with some new bruise or cut and insist that you are the one to take care of it because you're always gentle and kiss it to make them feel better quicker. And the products you use after you're done always smell really good!! When you're done they always say “I think i've got a cut on my lip too” [hinata, kageyama, kyōtani, lev, bokuto] — You always turn the air down when you want to cuddle with them because they always claim it's too hot and you just wanna cuddle and be comfortable. You're used to the air being at 70 but their not, so here they come with with sweatpants on 2 pairs of socks a hoodie with a shirt on and a blanket on their shoulders, demanding you give up some of your body heat [goshiki, tsukishima, futakuchi, tanaka, michimya]
— [ ] who likes to come find you, interrupting whatever you're doing to put you in his lap and make you touch your forehead with and stare into each other's eyes. Mostly to be annoying but they like to have your presence around them and don't know how to ask so they just .. yk. [kageyama, fukunaga, anoe, terushima] — They loveeee to come behind you while you're standing and wrap their arms around you holding you while swaying side to side. Most times they don't initiate a conversation, they either put that chin on your head or shoulder or bury their face into your neck. Smelling that scent of shea butter and whatever frit you decide you wanted to smell like. [daichi, kuroo, akaashi, ushijma, oikawa] — [ ] knows your orders for multiple fast food and restaurants. + all the lil specialties of is, such ass you liking a spicy chicken sandwich combo no sauce add mayo, chilled strawberry lemonade from popeyes. its second atp. you just tell them where you wanna eat and they take care or everything else. [aone, kenma, osamu, aran, suga] — Yall have dance battles at random ass times. R a n d o m ass times. Yall could be grocery shopping, you send him to go get something on the other isle, you'd hear a song yall both like over the intercom playing, and you immediately look towards the end of the isle to see them slide into just in time as yall start dancing towards each other, not caring who see you. [tanka, nishinoya, tendō,hanamaki,] — They see you do your skin care routine and decide that they wanna copy you because your skin is literally the softest skin he’s ever encountered. But he likes when you apply the product to his skin because their fingers are calluses from playing volleyball. Matching headband to pull you guys hair back. It's sooo cuteeeee ahh i'm in love. [oikawa, atsumu and osamu, sakusa,] — You said i love you first and freaked the absolute dogshit outta them. Frfr. baby was clutching them pearlsssss, didn't know what to say? What to do? Obviously he loves you too, more actually if you let him tell it but they are still in this state of pure shock. You would be panicking if they didn't already say it to you when you were “sleeping”. [ashai, yamamoto, yamaguchi, konoha, kita] — On the contrary they said it first … accidentally but they still said it first. Yall were probably doing so mundane shit and they was just thinking “damn i really fucking love them” except it wasnt in their head, it was definitely out loud. Out loud as in you could hear them out loud, you were shocked but said it back and continued on with what you were doing like you didn't just change their life for the better. [suga, semi, washio, iwazumi, yaku] — Now they had a whole plan set out. From the time you woke up until the time they decided it was best to say it. They act like the finna propose or sum. It's really nice you're not suspicious because it was date night. You cried or wtv, (it's not or wtv, it was that ugly cry. lip curled back, nose running, ya getting red inna face, hiccuping after every breath, they are concerned dd) anyways you eventually say it back because duh you love, like hello?? You were already planning your wedding. And so were they. [lev, asahi, fukunaga, aran, kageyama]

❀ Aone Takanobu x (trans) male reader ⚣︎
A/N: gods, I just love side characters. tbh, I’m mostly just projecting myself and my imaginations on that (but which writer didn't do that at least once) XD
tags/warnings: reader is tanaka’s brother (could also be adopted) & a dancer, set in season 2 episode 19, Miyagi Spring Qualifier Quarterfinals (at least that's what fandom wiki says, I hope that it's right)
Tumblr media
Hey, lovebirds
It was a match from the Miyagi Spring Qualifier Quarterfinals - Aoba Johsai and Date Tech were playing - and the second set with a two-point-lead by Seijou. The third-grades of Date Tech just came running on the bleachers.
“What’s the score?” They arrived at the rail and looked down at the still ongoing game. “Oh damn. Who won the first set?”
“Ehm”, a voice came from behind them. It was the captain of Karasuno with his whole team. “Seijo won the first one.”
“What, Karasuno?!”, Moniwa said, “Oh, hello. Good to see you.” They greeted each other and of course, Sasaya immediately had to restrain the former vice Kamasaki. That’s when they were noticed by other members of their school that they joined.
The game went on with the third-grades as well as Karasuno tensely watching. After a few other points another person came running on the bleachers and immediately towards the rails to look at the score.
Tanaka saw who it was and looked behind him to see his sister calmly stroll towards them.
“Hey!” When you heard his voice you immediately turned around and faced him.
“Oh, hey Ryu”, you grinned when you saw your brother sitting there with his usual attitude and rebellious grin. He informed you about the winner of the first set and then noticed the questioning looks of his teammates except for a few of them - especially Noya who had met you several times before already because of their friendship.
“Ugh, guys, this is my brother, (Y/N).”
You chuckled, “Hi, nice to meet you. Is it so bothersome to introduce me?” The question was directed at your brother.
“Huh, yeah, yeah, actually it is”, he answered grinning. It was usual for you two to bug each other like that. That’s also when your older sister Saeko arrived. “Oh, come on boys!” She tried to throw her arm around you to get you in her side-clasps but you were already trained and easily ducked away.
Fortunately for you, the third-graders of Date saw and waved at you so you could scurry to them.
“Why have we never seen him at games before?”, Yamaguchi asked curiously.
“Because he also has training most of the time.”
“Oh, does he play volleyball too?”, Hinata spoke excitedly. You weren’t really tall, just like him, so he was really interested if you were a player as well. But Ryu and Saeko laughed a little.
“Nah, look at his bag”, Ryu pointed at you standing next to Moniwa at the rails. It was a sports bag and shoes were hanging on the side of it. Which was noticeable is that it wasn’t only one pair but three different ones - two of which most of the boys haven’t seen anything about before. “He’s a dancer.”
“Ahhhh”
“Ok, but why is he standing here now and talking to Date’s former captain?”
Now Tanaka began to scowl and Sakeo chuckled as she sat down. “Because Aone is his boyfriend”, the young woman answered.
Many of their glances quickly went from you to the mentioned player and back again. “Reallyyyy?!”, Hinata was wide eyed looking down at the middle blocker before grinning, “Cooool!”
Daichi and Suga chuckled when they saw Ryu’s expression. “Why are you scowling?”, Daichi asked while still grinning. “Do you not like Aone?”, Suga continued.
“He’s super protective of (Y/N)!” Noya saw his chance and took it.
“Aone is.. alright, I guess”, Tanaka mumbled. The others kept on bugging him a bit but quickly turned back to the game that will decide who would be their next opponent.
Meanwhile you were standing on the rail and watching closely while occasionally cheering your boyfriend on. He had noticed you already and you could’ve sworn that he had smiled a little bit.
The game was really exciting and in the end Seijou won. You saw the third years’ shoulders slump down and them letting their heads hang. You sighed and let your head hang too.
When Date’s team quickly came to stand in front of the bleachers you made eye contact with Taka giving him a comforting smile. Then you signaled him to meet you outside in the halls. You turned around to go meet him. But before you went down you shortly hugged your sister and gave your brother a light slap on the head - which he tried to return but you could duck away - to say goodbye for the day. You’d be driving back in Date Tech’s team bus and staying at Aone’s for the night.
You went towards each other and let the others go past you both before you hugged him tightly. “You okay?”, you looked up at him with your arms still around each other and let your chin rest on his chest. The height difference between you two was kinda funny.
He gave you a little nod but he was still wearing that sad frown.
“You were great.” This made a soft look appear in his eyes that possibly only you came to see and know what it meant.
“Hey, lovebirds”, you heard Futakuchi shouting, “Come on, you can make out later. We’re gonna go to the bus now.” Aone’s team mates laughed. You stuck out your tongue towards them but let go of your boyfriend.
While you went to follow the team Takanobou linked your pinkies like he often did when you walked together.
On the bus you sat next to each other and Aone let his head rest on yours that you had placed on his shoulder. You took his hand intertwining your fingers and rested on your lap. The bus was rather quiet - exhaustion and sadness because of the lost game were the primary feelings. Your boyfriend let out another sigh.
“Hey, Taka?”, you whispered with your eyes closed. You felt the rumble from his body as he let out a low “Mh?”.
“You’re free from training tomorrow, right?”
“Mhm.”
“You wanna go somewhere then? I also got nothing tomorrow.”
“Mhm. Decide tomorrow?”, his voice was so low it send a wave of goosebumps over your skin.
“Mhm.” You felt yourself doze off - your training and the excitement to make it to the game had taken a lot of energy from you too. Soon everyone except for the adults was sleeping.
When you arrived your boyfriend shook you awake gently.
“Hey, (Y/N)”, his voice was still hushed and even a little deeper than earlier.
On the way to his mom’s car, who was so nice to pick you both up from school, your arm found his place around his middle while he placed his on your shoulders.
After eating you both went upstairs to his room to get ready for bed. Aone laid down on top of his blankets and got out his phone while you still searched through his closet for one of his hoodies. You quickly changed into it after finally finding what you searched for and flopped down on top of your boyfriend.
“Oof”, he played as if you were heavy enough to crush his brick of a body in any way.
You chuckled and kissed his cheek. A smile that only you got to see appeared on his lips.
His hand went to cup your cheek to pull you closer and kiss you properly. You sighed happily and let yourself fall into the kiss.
After you parted, you snuggled close to him and placed your head in the crook of his neck. That way you fell asleep like many times before already.

Since you've finished Y8, what did you think of the whole Ichi x Saeko subplot they did?
EHHHH. It started really cute but I don’t know if it was very satisfying by the end of it. Felt like it started as a potentially incredibly valuable character moment for Ichiban but then ends up mining an… extremely weird lesson from the whole thing that kinda missed the point of what was weird about it to begin with imo?? And then the joking way it finishes off kinda undermined the weight of what was supposed to have been learned to begin with. The fact that they spend most of the journey apart from each other doesn’t help ultimately, imo. I know that’s KINDA the point??? but i don’t know it all just felt a little middling compared to how good the rest of the character plots are.

Notes: When going to a party with your best friend, you didn't expect him to be so irritated when he saw a guy bothering you.
Warnings: Tanaka x fem!reader; reader has hair; bad language(!); harassment(?); no use of "Y/n"; mention of alcohol and vandalism; SFW.
Tumblr media
That would be your first Halloween party, or rather, the first big Halloween party you would ever go to. And obviously you weren't going alone, you were accompanied by your two best friends: Tanaka and Nishinoya. You had already agreed on your costumes and were eagerly awaiting the day. Finally, the night arrived. The boys would come by to pick you up, Tanaka's sister would give you a ride.
You were analyzing your costume in the mirror when you heard the horn and Tanaka shouting your name as if it were a heavy metal song. As quickly as could you went downstairs and left the house to receive the news that Nishinoya had suddenly become ill and couldn't go. Sad for your friend, but trying not to get discouraged for the party, you got into the car. Tanaka's sister greeted you excitedly, she loved you.
- Oh, how funny! Your costume matches! You guys look like a couple - she smiled innocently.
The idea of the costume together was for the three of you to go as Team Rocket, from "Pokémon", you would go as Jessie, Ryu as James and Nishi as Meowth. You looked beautiful in uniform and even managed to dye your hair pink with temporary dye. Tanaka also looked good in the uniform and even bought a wig to look more like the character. Nishinoya had sent you a photo of how the improvised costume turned out, to ask you for help, and he had looked really cute with the cat ears, as much as he hated you saying that. But in fact, analyzing the situation now, the fantasy of the two of you without the third member ended up looking like you wanted to make a fantasy of a couple and not of friends who just wanted to laugh a little.
- Saeko! I already said we are not a couple! Can you forget this idea?! - Ryu said a little excitedly.
- Don't talk like that, idiot! It will make your friend uncomfortable!
- You're making her uncomfortable!
Luckily, the awkward moment was left aside due to the brothers' silly fight that made you laugh in the end. It didn't take long to arrive at the party, it was at someone's house... That neither of you knew, but that wasn't important. Saeko agreed on the time she would pick you up and left, leaving the two of you standing looking at the decorated house, full of people you didn't know, suddenly seeming like a bad idea.
- If you don't want to, we don't need to go in, we can go somewhere else - Ryu said, taking your hand affectionately.
- No, I want to, I just... I'm taking my courage before going in - you laughed - this could be our chance to meet someone, right?
Tanaka let go of your hand and smiled in agreement, when you nodded saying you were ready, you entered the house. You stayed together for a while to explore the place and adapt, but it didn't take long for you to separate. Soon Ryu saw a pretty girl and said goodbye to you to try his luck, you smiled as you watched from afar, drinking from your glass distractedly, without even noticing the boy approaching you.
- Excuse me, can I ask your name?
After introducing yourself and the man saying he didn't know anyone with that name, he revealed to you that he was the owner of the party, you were apprehensive thinking that he was going to kick you out for being a gatecrasher, but that wasn't what happened, in reality he insisted that you stay.
- I'm happy to see a different face here, much more a face as beautiful as yours - he smiled - is that your boyfriend? - he pointed to Tanaka.
- Oh, no, he's just my friend.
- So I still have a chance? - he smiled at you and approached.
As you got closer you could smell the alcohol coming off him, you took a step back to discover that there was a wall right behind, cornering you and the stranger. You laughed uncomfortably but the conversation only went downhill after that. Talking about how he would like to go somewhere more private with you, to get to know you better, and getting closer each time.
- Look man, I'm not in the mood...
- Oh stop... I know very well why girls like you enter strangers' parties... I can give you everything you want - the smell of drink was starting to give you a headache.
- But I don't want anything! - you dodged him and tried to move away.
- But I want! - he shouted and pulled your wrist hard for you to come back.
- Take your hand off her! - an enraged voice shouted.
When you looked back, you found Ryu's staring at the boy who was bothering you, visibly irritated. The boy turned to face your friend better, a disdainful look appearing on his face.
- What was it man? Go back there with the girl you were with and leave us alone, can't you see we're talking?
- No, I just see an asshole bothering my friend who has already made it clear that she doesn't want anything - he approached - And I already told you to let her go!
Ryu forced the guy to let go of your wrist, taking the opportunity to stay between the two of you, you staying behind him, Tanaka lifting his chin at the guy, ready to start a fight.
- You weren't even supposed to be here! Didn't you want to have fun? Let's have fun! - he tried to advance towards you but Ryu pushed him away.
- If this bothers you so much then we let's go, enjoy your shitty party, you son of a bitch!
Tanaka took your hand after saying "let's go", turning his back to the guy and leaving the place without thinking twice, not even giving you time to intervene, visibly altered. As he left the house he began to curse under his breath, no longer pulling you but still holding your hand.
- Ryu, why did you do that? And the girl you were with?
- To the hell with the girl! My concern was you! - he replied without even thinking - Do you think I would allow this guy to... That I would allow... I hate that bastard! - he released your hand and angrily kicked a trash can that was in front of the house.
Ryu sat on the curb, still irritated. You sat next to him, silently, waiting for him to calm down. After a while, he relaxed his fists and sighed.
- Are you well? Did he hurt you? -vhe asked looking at you.
- No, he just pulled my wrist, but it was nothing - you showed him, the area was a little red.
- I'm sorry, I should have arrived earlier... It wasn't supposed to be like this, it was supposed to be a nice party for both of us...
- Hey, let's not let that idiot ruin the night, we can still do something else.
- Yes, we can... And I had an idea.
You knew that smile very well, the smile that he was about to get into trouble. Ryu and you walked around the outside of the house, your friend asked you to wait while he looked for some stones, when he came back he gave you one.
- There, that window must be the one in his room, you can do the honors - he said pointing.
- You want me to break his window?!
- The windows... - he emphasized - It's Halloween, trick-or-treating season and since we don't have "tricks"...
- Let's do "treating" - you completed.
- Exactly - he smiled.
Looking at the window, wondering if it was really a good idea, you remembered the shit the party owner had told you. The discomfort you felt at the moment turning into anger. Without further hesitation, you aimed and threw the rock, hitting the window, Ryu shouted excitedly next to you "Yeah!" and threw a stone too. You smiled, loving how he made you feel free to do whatever you wanted.

don’t lie to me - part one
akaashi keiji x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a con-artist, lovers-to enemies-to lovers au
the GUIDEPOST  the MASTERLIST
synopsis: You have nothing to lose, and that’s exactly why you love to go after those who do. Lying is as easy as knocking down a house of cards, revealing truths of corruption underneath. You and Akaashi are leaders of your own team of Robin Hoods, but you can’t keep up the act forever, can you? When you threaten trading this life in for something more romanticized, you and Akaashi fall right back into your old, hateful ways.
tags: lying stealing robbing etc., lovers to enemies, con-artist/spy!au, haikyuu x the great pretender crossover, not very relationship forward, but a lot of fluff sprinkled in, arguments, fights, angst, a break up

Hitoka Yachi was a liar. She was a thief. She was a con artist. And she could not tell you how she got to this point in her life.
And there she sat in the living room of an affluent old lady who knew nothing about the telephone package Yachi was trying to sell to her.
That’s what made her the perfect target, an ideal victim to scam out of a few hundred bucks. Just like the others in this neighborhood Yachi had already meticulously gone after.
“Let me make it simple for you,” Yachi told her, putting on her best and brightest smile, “You can give me a down payment now - of eight hundred dollars - and when our team comes for the installment, you can make your decision then. We can deduct any extra payment from next month’s bill.”
The woman took a deep breath and used the pause for thought to adjust her shawl on her shoulder. “Well…”
“And this is the last day for this offer! Remember, this is a huge holiday discount. Even if you wait until tomorrow - it would be triple the price!”
It wasn’t a holiday or anywhere near.
“I probably shouldn’t pass this up, then…”
The woman reached for her large purse and Yachi shot out of her seat in excitement, raring to snatch the payment from her.
“Thank you! We’ll be in contact about the installation day! Thank you!”
With the money in her hands she darted out the door, leaving behind every pamphlet and example photo she had brought with her. All she cared about was getting outside so she could do her happy dance in private.
What she was doing wasn’t wrong. These people already have enough money to afford their nice homes and retirement dreams. Yachi was simply taking advantage, and she was doing it to survive.
She started walking in a random direction and stopped at the first restaurant she came to. She stuffed her hand deep in her pocket to tuck her money inside - first, she pulled out a sliver of paper. Written on it was the name and phone number for the woman she just had a meeting with.
As she walked inside, she wadded the note up and threw it toward a trash can nearby.  It bounced off the edge and landed on the ground.
-
Yachi’s only friend was a woman older than her, cooler than her, and meaner than her. Tanaka Saeko played drums for a band, drove a beat up van, and frequented all the restaurants Yachi loved. That made them friends by default.
She was telling Saeko all about the recent job and how she made a new eight hundred bucks, while Saeko was barely listening, stuffing her face and kicking rocks under the picnic table.
“I actually need a favor.”
Saeko grunted.
“Help me out, and I’ll give you half.”
Yachi pulled a brown wallet out of her back pocket.
Saeko rolled her eyes. “Again? Really?”
The two of them did this every day.
“Come on,” she whined, “it’s fun! Look, the woman in the purple ordering at the counter - she’ll be perfect for it.”
The street was nearly empty, save for the few people eating at tables or walking by. It was the perfect day for making more money, and Yachi would do just that.
You were standing in front of a food stall sipping lemonade when you got a tap on your shoulder.
“Excuse me - did you drop this?”
“I’m sorry?”
“This wallet was on the ground, it’s yours, right?”
The girl opened the wallet and showed the cash inside, knowing it would pique your interest, and then let you take it from her hands.
Yachi put on a sweet smile until Saeko came over to wipe it off.
“It’s mine. Hand it over.”
Saeko took the billfold from you, but Yachi snatched it right back from her then stuffed it in her back pocket.
With her arms up in innocent defense, “You know what, I’ll just take it to the police.”
“I told you, it’s mine.”
“How am I supposed to know that?”
“What, do you want a reward or something?”
While they bickered, you finished your drink. Then, you pulled two twenties from your purse.
“It is mine, actually. Here’s your reward.”
And Yachi smiled at you, pulled the wallet out, and handed it over to you as she took your money.
“Thank you so much,” you said, being so sweet it felt fake, and then you wrapped your arms around her, giving her the most awkward hug of her life. “I appreciate it so much, thank you. Have a great day.”
Then, you walked off.
You were hardly out of earshot when Yachi started laughing to herself as she pulled the real, money filled wallet out of her pocket.
“It’s just so easy these days!”
Saeko held her hand out expectantly. Yachi slapped a bill in her hand.
“Thanks for playing,” she said, and Saeko said nothing. “You still hungry? It’ll be my treat!”
Just to brag, she pulled the wallet open, showing Saeko her earnings. The extra twenty she just stole from you didn’t seem like much in comparison to the hundreds in the pouch, but it all adds up. Every cent counts when you’ve got rent to pay.
And Saeko was laughing. Cackling like a bird.
“What? What’s so funny?”
“What are you going to buy?” she said through bursts of laughter and tears, “free samples?”
“What are you talking about?”
She looked down at the wallet and -
- it was empty.
Empty.
Her money was gone.
“You gave away the wrong one!”
Yachi felt her heartbeat in her ears. Her eyes nearly popped out of her head and landed right in the money pouch. She could have laughed, too, out of pure anger.
“I didn’t. I didn’t - I’m not stupid! I wouldn’t mess up that badly - did she…?”
She turned around, looking all over for you, then went running in the direction you had gone.
Yachi already figured out what you had done.
When you hugged her, you pick-pocketed her.
You knew she had given you an empty wallet, so you took the one with the money.
That’s the only explanation.
She ran down the block and easily found you, standing in front of a stall selling jewelry. And she was more than ready to make a scene in order to get her money back.
“Hey! Hey!”
You ignored her until she was standing right next to you.
“You stole my money!”
You glanced over at her, then said, “Hm? Aren’t you the one who found my wallet?”
“It wasn’t yours!”
You let a smile slip. “It wasn’t?”
“Look, just give it back.”
You walked away from the jewelry booth, but Yachi peddled behind you.
“Why would I do that? You gave it to me, said it was mine - so, it’s mine.”
“Well, it was a mistake! It wasn’t yours - it was mine, so I need you to return it.”
“Are you trying to steal from me?”
“What? No! I’m trying to get my money back!”
You didn’t reply, and Yachi didn’t know what else to do, so she kept following you.
She was stuck walking in your footsteps, letting you guide her wherever you were going, because she had no other ideas.
The only thing she could do was nag you until you gave in.
“All of my money was in that wallet. Like, all of it. At least eight hundred dollars. You’re stealing all of my money, and I’m already poor, so you’re just making me even more poor. Are you really okay with that?”
You said nothing.
“My name is Yachi, by the way. Hitoka Yachi. I’m pretty popular around here, actually. Are you new to town? I could show you around. For a price, anyway. Hey, if you give me my money back, I could show you how to make all the money in the world - I know the easiest ways.”
She meandered around you, stopping you in your path, finally getting the chance to speak to your face. She gave you a smile that was as genuine as it was frustrated; all you could do was laugh.
“How long do you plan on following me?”
Her smile fell. “Until I get my money back.” She was pouting, looking like she was trying too hard to look angry. You gave her a look that turned her anger up higher. “The money you stole from me.”
“In the wallet you said was mine?”
She stomped her foot; you didn’t hold back your laughter at her.
“What a con artist you are. Aren’t you clever?” you joked as you walked ahead of her, and her footsteps quickly followed yours.
“Look, I don’t know who you are, or who you think you are, but I know what I’m doing here. So maybe you should watch your tone.”
You tried not to laugh, you really did, but the sound erupted from your lips before you could seal them shut. Yachi stopped in her tracks at the sound.
You turned around, continuing to walk backwards as you said, “It seems like I’ve scammed the scammer, then, haven’t I?” And then you turned again, not stopping until you reached your destination.
Neither of you said a word until you were opening the gate outside of a quaint home.
“Where are we? What are you doing here?”
“I’m going home,” you said. “Do you want to camp out here, or come inside?”
Yachi peered behind you to look at the house, but the only thing that caught her eye was a man standing at the door. He stood there like he was a guard.
“Who is that?”
 “Who?”
Yachi pointed, and you turned to glance behind you.
“He’s just someone I work with. I’m not sure what he’s here for… maybe something I owe him.”
You sighed, and Yachi got the idea that you weren’t happy to see this guy. She was immediately intimidated by the man - his gaze alone was enough to send her shrinking into herself. Dressed in all black, his strong looking arms crossed, and his jaw locked - according to Yachi’s low standards, he looked like someone she wanted nothing to do with.
You began walking away, into your gate and toward the house.
“Hey! What about my money?!”
“You mean my money?” You walked back over to her then pulled an ink pen and an old receipt out of your purse. “Here’s my name and number. Call me if you need anything, alright?”
You shoved the paper in her hand and then you left, into your house, and the man didn’t follow. He stood in the same spot, watching Yachi’s every move. She kicked herself out of his eyesight, fast.
The money in that wallet you stole was for a late rent payment. Her shitty apartment wasn’t worth what she paid for it every month, but it held her few belongings and kept her warm enough. And it was getting harder and harder to lie her way out of paying the bills on time.
And now that money is gone.
She could have just followed you into your home, but even she isn’t stupid enough to walk into a situation like that one.
Besides, that guy was scary enough that she was grateful for being out of his sight.
She’d just have to cut her losses. You can’t win ‘em all - she’d happily lose this time if it meant she never had to see that guy again. And that wasn’t the first time she had less than a dollar to her name. She’d just have to work a little harder tomorrow.
She looked down at the note you gave her. It did in fact have a name, and a few numbers written down, but it wasn’t enough to make a phone number. Of course. Yachi didn’t expect any better, but she swore the next time she saw you, she wouldn’t let you go.
Her walking was directionless, and she didn’t know where she was, but eventually the neighborhood turned familiar enough that she felt alright to slow her pace and catch her breath. She was only wandering, looking for something to stop her, when -
“Oh my god! There she is! Right there! That’s her - that’s the girl!”
One second she was kicking a pebble down the street - the next, she barely had the time to turn and run from the two cops chasing her, who were directed by the old woman from the telephone scam.
It was one thing after another.
She turned one corner then another before she found her escape. It looked like it was placed in front of her by God himself - too good to be true - and, of course, she took the path that was laid out: a taxi stopped on the side of the road with a familiar person getting into it - you. Yachi dived into the door you had left open and slammed it behind her.
“Let’s share the ride!” she said, trying to hide how out of breath she was. Your mouth hung in surprise but you only nodded, and the driver took off. Yachi looked back - not a cop in sight.
Safe at last.
“Back already?”
Yachi sat back in her seat and relaxed, because she finally could. But the silence took over fast, and she had to strike up conversation.
“Seriously, who was that guy?”
“Oh, don’t mind him. I took care of him.”
“You - did you -”
“Kill him?” Yachi gasped, you laughed. “No, god no - who do you think I am?”
“I have no idea who you are,” she said, and you laughed. Then, she realized, “Where are we going?”
“The airport,” you replied. You turned to look at her, your makeup still perfect, your hair only slightly messier than it was before, red lips in a sweet sneaking grin. “Then to LA.”
“LA?”
You nodded.
In the rush of the series of events, Yachi thought of this as an offer. A way out. A new market.
Technically, she was on the run now, and she still had to get back what you took from her, and she had nothing here to leave, anyway. Most of her things were in the tattered backpack she took everywhere with her.
“I’ll come with - if you buy my plane ticket.”
You refused. But she’d convince you.
-
“What are we doing here, anyway?”
“I’m here for work - I don’t know where you’re going. I need to make a stop by my place.”
“Well, you’ll let me stay with you for the night, right?”
There were hours of traffic between the two of you and your destination, and Yachi got to sleep through it until you forced her awake and brought her inside of an extravagant house. She didn’t get the chance to examine the outside - you walked too fast for her to keep up.
She developed a quick habit out of following you around. She didn’t know what else she was supposed to do, and her one goal was to take her cash back from you, afterall.
But when you led her into a big, open room, it seemed like you had enough of having her as your shadow.
“Can’t you go somewhere else?”
“Where?”
“Anywhere,” you sighed. You plopped down on the long velvet couch that faced the large window, then said, “Show yourself around. I’m waiting for company.”
“Fine.”
Looking as if she was trying to be passive aggressive, she trotted back out the door the two of you came through. Outside of it was a long hallway with many doors on either side; she didn’t know which room she should go into first.
With the blue carpet catching her footsteps, it was a soft walk to the first door. Yachi swung it open brazenly to find - a bathroom.
Plain and boring as they come. A stark opposite from the rest of the house that she’d seen - the main room was lavish, filled with furniture and decorated perfectly, windows lining an entire wall with beautiful paintings hanging on the rest of them.
She thought mansion bathrooms were meant to be fancy - with toilets made of gold and water fountains rather than sinks and a swimming pool for a tub.
Maybe you sunk your budget in the living room.
She decided to leave the door open, just to be rude, before she went to the next one.
There wasn’t time for her to open it before a door at the main end of the hallway opened seemingly on its own. Yachi was curious, wondering what kind of person would be walking through it.
When she saw him, she ran, and she loudly encouraged you to do the same.
The lazy way you stood up made it obvious that you weren’t bothered at all.
“What are you doing?”
“Running away, because that scary man followed you all the way here and it’s probably because he wants to kill you,” she said, all in one breath, the entire sentence sounding like one word.
You only crossed your arms. Yachi didn’t understand.
“Excuse me.”
The sound of his voice behind her made her yelp, and she ran straight to hide behind the couch.
“Whatever she did has nothing to do with me!”
The only part of her body visible was her eyes, peeking out just enough to see what this man’s next move was.
He completely ignored her, gunning straight for you. He reached his arms out and Yachi didn’t want to look - she couldn’t bear to see what he was about to do to you.
The man looked strong, and maybe you were capable of fighting but Yachi wouldn’t bet her stolen money on it. You weren’t even stepping away, in fact - you were stepping toward him.
He wrapped his arms around you and that was it, Yachi thought - he was probably going to squeeze you until you popped. She clamped her eyes shut, but then opened one of them because she couldn’t help herself. She just had to watch as he -
Kissed you.
Yachi really did not understand.
“Keiji, I missed you to death.”
“You couldn’t stand a couple days apart?”
“It felt like forever. I think I should just stitch myself to you, I’d be happier that way.”
Yachi shot up out of her hiding spot.
“I thought this was the guy you owed!”
“I did owe him. I told you I took care of him, didn’t I?”
The wink you sent Yachi’s way had her dropping her jaw in a realizing, disgusting anger.
“By the way,” Keiji said, “Where’s the big scary man who’s trying to kill you?”
Yachi didn’t care about a thing the man said, and she didn’t care about the joyous look on your face. All she cared about was getting answers.
“Who the hell are you? What do you want from me?”
“I told you who I am. You’re the one who’s been following me around this entire time - remember?” You weren’t even looking at Yachi. Instead, you were busy straightening Keiji’s collar. You kissed him once again and then stepped away, saying, “Could you bring me that briefcase, babe?” and he did as he was told.
She stood on the couch and then jumped over it, landing on her feet with a punctuating thud. “Because you stole my money. All of my money! And I want it back!”
“Right - about that money… Where’d it come from, exactly?”
Keiji sat the briefcase on the table in front of you. You opened it and pulled out three different things.
Yachi didn’t try to explain herself. You already had all of the answers, and you held them up for her to see.
The terrible pamphlet for the phone company she handmade, the contract    signed by the woman she had scammed, and the crumpled note she had thrown away.
And she felt like a child again, being scolded by her mother for her bad grades. Like she was small, like you were bigger than her so that meant you were right. It didn’t feel fair.
“Where did you get those?”
You offered no explanation. “That poor, innocent woman,” you said with a tut. “But she wasn’t the first, was she?”
“So what? Are you going to rat me out or something?”
“No. Honestly, I couldn’t care less about it.”
“So what is this for?” Yachi took a loud step toward you, trying to make herself feel bigger, stronger, smarter. “Just give me my money so I can leave.”
“I never said I had your money.”
Yachi froze.
“What?”
You shrugged. “I don’t have it. You assumed I did.”
“Then who does?!”
“The girl you were with - she got a hold of it.”
“Saeko?!”
Then, Keiji stepped into it. “I think you might’ve taken this one too far, sweetheart.”
“But she knows what she’s doing,” you said, and the sweet voice you used with him sounded like nails on a chalkboard. “I didn’t do anything. Every choice she made was completely independent.”
The worst part?
You were right.
Yachi chose to take that old lady’s money. She chose you out of the crowd to play the wallet scam against. She chose to follow you home, to leave you at your house, to seek refuge in the taxi you were in. And then, on top of it all, she followed you to a brand new city.
And you didn’t suggest she do a single thing. You just let her.
It was her own fault. So she crumpled to the ground, because there was simply nothing left for her to do.
She fell for every word that left your mouth - and you didn’t even ask her to.
It was pathetic. She was pathetic.
You stood in front of her, tossed the pamphlet on the ground for her to look at. “It doesn’t feel good, does it? Being stolen from?”
Yachi didn’t reply.
“Do you want some advice?”
Yachi watched as you knelt down in front of her. She looked up at you, at your too sweet smile. Still, there were no cracks in your image. It was strange, and it was enticing, and it was maddening.
“Learn how to choose your targets, sweetheart. Maybe you should pick a different line of work.”
You wadded up the note and threw it down in front of her, just like she had thrown it to the trash. Your words were cutting, even as you got up and walked away. You had just given her a failing grade on the one thing she felt like she was good at - it hurt.
And she was all alone now, on the floor in a random home in this strange city. And she wished she had somewhere to go.
Until a hand reached out to her.
Keiji.
She took it, because she didn’t have any other choice - besides sitting there forever.
“She can be a little mean sometimes. Don’t take it too personally.”
Yachi didn’t know what to say, so she said nothing.
“Do you want to make your money back?”
Yachi nodded.
“Then let’s go. We’re already late.”
-
Maybe you were too mean to the young girl, but it definitely wasn’t your fault. It’s just the way things happened to play out.
Keiji obviously believed otherwise.
“I’m just saying - she’s just a kid. You didn’t have to go so hard on her.”
“I was teaching her a lesson!”
“You could’ve been a little nicer about it. That’s all I’m saying.”
“Keiji, you were in on it.”
“Hey, you were the boss - I was just doing what I was told!”
“Can you stop talking about me like I’m not right here?”
The both of you turned around to see Yachi behind you, tagging along like a third wheel. Keiji mumbled a quick apology; you continued walking without a word to her.
“Where are we even going?” the girl asked.
“To strike up a deal,” you said, feigning excitement so it would get her in a better mood.
And it worked like you were rubbing paint off your hands onto her. She piped up immediately, getting a spring in her step.
“Okay, what’s the plan?”
“You’ll see.”
“Nothing you need to know yet,” Keiji said as you all stopped in front of a large ornate gate; behind it, the biggest house Yachi had ever seen.
“Whoa. Is this some door-to-door scam for millionaires or something?”
You groaned loud. “Something like that.”
Keiji dropped your hand and moved to press a button on the intercom next to the fence. In less than a minute, three men came walking down the path on the opposite side; one of them used a key to open the gate.
All of them looked rough and mean. Dressed in leather jackets and lazily buttoned patterned shirts, gold chains around their necks and rings on their fingers, Yachi could easily assume these guys were cheap security for whoever lived in this mansion. She didn’t like the look of them.
The man in the center pulled his sunglasses off then shook Keiji’s hand.
“About time,” he said, then started leading your group inside.
Around the back of the house was a pool and a party. The bright blue water looked refreshing enough to jump into fully clothed, and all of the beautiful girls in bikinis had Yachi feeling self conscious of the little effort she put into her appearance. You had thrown a button up shirt and black pants at her and made her get changed in the car, and she was feeling far from herself.
She watched you and Keiji shaking hands and making conversation with the person who seemed to be the owner of this house - a tall woman who wore glasses and had long, pin straight, jet black hair.
Yachi wasn’t doing such a good job at following your conversation, but she heard the tail end of what the woman was saying.
“...This will be so great for both of us, I’m so excited to finally be finishing this deal. Um - where is the… supply?”
“The delivery should be here soon,” Keiji said, checking his watch. “Set to arrive around back.”
“Right - of course. No point in risking traveling alone with something so important.”
“In the meantime,” you said, and you wrapped your arms around Yachi’s shoulders and pulled her to stand in front of you. “This is an intern of ours - the one we were telling you about. She has been paramount in developing the new product.”
Yachi forced a fake, awkward smile at the woman.
“Oh, it’s amazing to meet you!”
“The two of you should get acquainted. Just don’t spill any secrets.” You winked at her and then took a step back. “The two of us will head over to the warehouse and we’ll give you a call when the goods arrive. Sound good?”
Leaving no chance for Yachi to reply, you and Keiji left her alone, walking past the party down a path that led behind the house.
Keiji asked you, “How do you think she’ll do?”
You shrugged. “She can’t fuck it up too badly. We’re already in the homestretch.”
The warehouse was exactly that - a large building with two garage doors and no windows, with its only entrance door guarded by two men. One of them short, thin, and balding; the other tall, with salt and pepper hair and too much muscle. You greeted them both then swung the door open and walked into the fluorescent lights inside.
The building was mostly empty now; Ten, your current client, had gotten rid of nearly all of her inventory after the first meeting she had with you. To make room for the stock you’d promised.
Arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you in. “We’ve got time to kill, baby.”
You looked back at him, kissed his cheek. “Not as much time as you need.”
“You only need five minutes.” He pulled away just enough to turn you around, then pulled you right back against him, teasing a kiss against your lips. “I thought you missed me?”
He kissed you soft, just enough to get you to want more - to remind you what you were missing. As headstrong as you were, Keiji was the only one who knew how to crack your resolve.
You let him kiss you as much as he wanted to, because you weren’t ready to put up a fight yet.
“You know I missed you,” you whined against his lips. He caressed your pouting bottom lip with his thumb.
“You’re a sweetheart. My sweet girl. Why don’t we just get this over with so I can show you how much I missed you?”
You kissed his finger, then his palm, and looked up at him with bright eyes and a swelling smile.
“I think we have five minutes to spare.”
-
Yachi had been alone with this woman for half an hour, and getting through the conversation felt like swimming in putty.
At this point, she felt like she deserved a fucking degree in bullshitting, because even though her words made no sense to herself, the woman ate them up like candy.
Yachi had learned very little, and yet way too much about the business practices here.
The woman’s name was Ten, and she’s worked in Hollywood as a film director for nearly twenty years, and the product she was buying off of you was… drugs. All of her money didn’t come from the shitty movies she’s made, but from the drugs she’s been peddling.
So Yachi had gotten tied up with drug dealers. She could handle your lying and stealing, but this was too far for her.
She wouldn’t realize the irony in that sentiment.
“I was skeptical before, to be honest. But after meeting you, I’m nothing but excited,” Ten told her.
It all felt surreal even though she was clueless of the situation. She had Ten convinced that she was a pharmaceutical technician who lacked experience but had an abundance of knowledge - a great mind who would become a pillar in the industry, someone who would change the drug industry and make people like her even richer.
Your call to Ten was a saving grace.
“Perfect. Send one of the guards up to escort me with the money. I’ll be right down.”
Yachi joined Ten, a muscular guard, and four briefcases to the warehouse around back. On the walk, Ten explained how she did all her business in cash, because it was easy payment with no risk of being tracked - even though Yachi never asked.
When they entered the building, Yachi held her breath, preparing to witness her first ever drug deal, and she had no idea what she was in for.
It was a giant room that was completely empty. There was a table in the center, a briefcase on top of it, and the fluorescent light shining directly onto it looked like a spotlight.
Yachi was confused, and Ten seemed even more so.
High heels echoed on the concrete floor as the woman walked to the case. She opened it, and then she snapped her head around to glare at Yachi.
The briefcase was empty.
“What’s going on here?”
She made her way back to Yachi quickly; arms came out to grab her, and she ducked underneath them. She fell onto her hands and knees, turned around, and crawled toward the door before clambering back up to her feet.
“Honestly, I have no clue!” she called back.
She pushed the door open, she saw safety in the sunlight outside. She only got to take one step on the grass before she was cut off by the guard who was with them before, still carrying the cases of money under his arm.
There was no way she was fighting him off, so when he picked her up, she let him. He threw her over his shoulder and all she could do was beat on his back with small fists.
“Let me go!” she cried. “I have nothing to do with this! Seriously! I don’t even know those two! Just let me go!”
When he finally put her down, it was onto warm metal. She opened her scared eyes to find she was in the bed of a pickup truck and so was her kidnapper.
With the truck moving she had almost no balance, but she was able to find her way to her hands and knees so she could look through its back window.
You stared at her in the rear view mirror. You even gave her a little wave, one that was all confidence and cockiness and made Yachi want to scream.
“What the hell was that?” She turned around, glared at the man who had captured her. “Who are you?”
He laughed, grinned wide, and stuck his hand out for her to shake.
“Bokuto - nice to meet ‘ya!”
-
You had been pulling the wool over Ten’s eyes for months now, building a relationship and rapport that seemed fruitful for the both of you. Ten shared secrets with you that you never needed to know, because you already had a plan scratched out before you ever met her.
She dealt the kind of drugs that killed people. The deeper the cut, the bigger the profit - that’s how she spoke of her cheap sales. It was easy to take advantage of her greed, convince her to only buy from you, pretend you were bringing something to the table she couldn’t pass up. So she cut her ties even though she was already bleeding money, and she put her last couple millions into the briefcases you stole from her, and if she ever recovered you’d give her a round of applause.
Maybe she would learn her lesson. Or maybe she wouldn’t. But your work with her was finally done.
The group of you were gathered on the terrace, drinks in hand, for an evening celebrating a job pulled off.
“All that work for one day of fun,” Bokuto sighed.
You were quick to scold him, “It’s not meant to be fun, Bo, it’s supposed to be work.”
The night sky was clouded by city lights; the stars were replaced by lampposts and neon signs. This town was alive beyond the balcony rails ahead of you. But you were only watching Yachi, who sat across from you, on the ground behind the table. She had her knees up, hugging them like she was afraid of taking up too much space, as if she had ever seen a terrace this large.
You sat up from your seat - which was Keiji’s lap - and placed your drink on the table, before sitting down on her level.
“How much did you say was in that wallet?”
She huffed and avoided your eye contact.
“I don’t know… eight hundred dollars.”
You slid a stack of cash across the table to her. Her eyes grew, and she sat still.
“For your work today,” you said.
“How much is that?”
“A few thousand. You weren’t too integral - just a distraction, really - so it’s not much.”
“...Thanks.”
“You could stick around, if you want.” It was a delicate offer, one that didn’t mean much to you, just like the money you handed over. “We always have room.”
She didn’t reply, not at first, but after a moment she gave you a meek nod.
“And I’ll get paid more?”
You stood back up then sat next to Keiji, and he pulled you in close; a kiss on your head, then your cheek, then your neck, and you were ready to forget about the world and only think about his lips.
“There’s always more to be paid,” you told her. “If you’re going to stick around, you should probably get acquainted with everyone.” You pointed to your left, “That’s Bokuto. You already met him, I think. He’s the muscle.” You meant it as a joke, but he flexed a bicep that proved your words. Then, you gestured to your right, looking at the old man laid across the wicker couch. He still wore the security guard disguise. “That’s Kudo.”
He gave a weak hearted salute. “Sure am.”
“There’s others, but they don’t always come around. You’ll meet them if you’re on the team long enough.”
“Team?”
It was innocent, the way she said it - with her head turned to the side and her eyes squinting. You were sure that you had felt the way she was feeling, back when you were five years younger and just meeting this group for the first time.
“Yeah, we’re a team, I guess. That’s the best word for it.” Try as you might to be nonchalant, you couldn’t completely cover the pride in your tone. “You’re in, if you want to be.”
You already knew she would stick around, because she had nowhere else to go. Anybody else who offered her refuge wouldn’t have good intentions, and you weren’t sure if she knew that or not - and that’s why you were making this offer in the first place. When you had heard about Yachi from Saeko, you knew she needed a place to fit - and that you had just the spot.
Even if you had to teach her a tough lesson the hard way, you meant well. And those lessons were far from over.
“Think about it,” you told her, and that was all of the time you were willing to give for the moment - because the alcohol had you buzzing, and Keiji’s arms around you were pulling you away.
So you let him take you off your seat and toward the door, but you had one more bit of information to share with Yachi.
“Oh, and - remember the old woman you stole that money from?”
Yachi perked up.
“She’ll be here tomorrow.”
-
Something about spending the evening outside made you wish to be swallowed up by the night time. Your bedroom was perfectly warm yet your hands were frigid. You were completely relaxed but your shoulders still felt tense.
Nights like those carried a different feeling. One free of planning, lying, and conning; it was the release of all of those things settling in the celebration of success. Like the clouds finally parted and you could see the stars with childlike relief. You no longer had to worry about getting away with something.
With your back to Keiji, you let your face fall. You took a breath and held it, because no one was waiting for you to exhale.
“What a day,” you said to yourself. “Now that it’s over it feels like a perfect night for running away.”
“Away from me?” Keiji joked.
You turned your head only slightly. Enough that he could see that your guard was down, but you didn’t dare give him your eyes.
“With you.”
He pulled his t-shirt on and came to sit next to you. “And where would we go?”
“Anywhere,” you said with a shrug. And you thought about his question, and if your answer would be the right one. If it should be the truth, or another lie.  “Somewhere normal, maybe.”
Keiji laughed. “Normal? You’d get bored of that in a day.”
“I would not,” you replied, “not if you were with me.”
“Don’t get all romantic on me now.” He got up, got into bed.
You might have been sitting on the edge of something you didn’t want to fall off of.
“You don’t want to run away with me, Keiji?” You couldn’t tell if you were making a joke or not, and you didn’t know if you wanted to hear his answer at all.
Because, in reality, you knew what his real answer would be. You knew his honesty was ugly and that’s why he showed you half truths.
You guessed he decided to ignore it all together. “Come to bed with me, baby.”
You stood up, walked around the bed and sat too close to him. He pushed your hair back away from your face, held you and looked at you.
“Why are you pouting?
“I’m serious,” you said.
“About what?”
“I don’t know.”
He laughed at that, all lighthearted and soft, and kissed you like it’d make you drop it. “Let’s talk about it later, baby - turn around, let me unzip your dress for you.”
“No, Keiji,” and you pulled away just enough that you didn’t have to look at him. “You don’t ever think about what it would be like?”
“It feels like we’ve talked about this before,” he said. “What are you getting at?”
“I just think it would be nice if things changed.” You stood up, and for a split second you thought about dropping it.
The last time you had a conversation like this was years ago, when you finally had enough money to retire and live easy. Keiji had brought it up, just offering the idea, and you had to remind him that it would never work out. Not with the two of you, anyway - not with the relationship you had.
Because nothing lasts forever, and you’re better than settling down, and you weren’t going to let yourself get hurt again. You promised each other that either of you could walk away any time, so don’t get too attached.
And if a break up never came, well - both of you had been scarred by the vision of death, witnessing it literally - viciously. You don’t have a particularly safe job, and history tends to repeat, and it was easier to move on if your life didn’t revolve around the other’s beating heart.
But it was too late for those sentiments to matter anymore. It had been almost three years since then, and you didn’t fear the future anymore. Keiji stayed, even though you thought he never would - even though no one ever stuck around that long - and you were starting to think that, maybe, he was going to be there forever. Maybe it was okay for you to ask him to.
So you wouldn’t let it go.
“We could have more than just… this. You know? What if we just bought a big house in a suburb? We could have pets, and… We could get married, even! And go on a honeymoon to some place nice - and we’ll be there to have fun instead of - I don’t know - rigging sports bets or stealing paintings! And it would all be so simple and easy!”
“Where is all of this coming from?”
You didn’t even know. But you meant it, all of it, and you wanted him to understand.
“I just - I… I want to have a life with you, Kei.”
“We have a life together,” he said, like he was confused, and he got up and walked over to you, he tried grabbing at you like he could put you back together. Like he could fit you in his hands. “This is our life. Can you seriously imagine us living like that? Getting married?”
“Can’t you?”
He knew his answer, he just didn’t want to say it.
“This is too much,” he said. “We’ve talked about this. I thought you didn’t want that.”
“What if I changed my mind?”
“I don’t know what you want me to say -”
“I want you to agree with me!”
“I don’t! And you know why - I…” He reeled his next words in, it seemed. He took a breath and calmed down and tried to speak softer. “You just want to… quit?”
He pulled you closer, like he could tell you were trying to run away.
“We’re so close to figuring everything out. We can’t just give up.”
“I know that.”
“Okay?” You looked away from him and he let you. “That’s why we’re here. That’s why we’re together.”
“Have all of these years together just been a waste, then? If you can’t even entertain the thought of having a life with me other than this?”
You were holding onto him so tight and you didn’t care if it hurt. Keiji had been your one constant for years now - there was no way he was still afraid of committing to you, when he had basically already done so.
But it was like tying down a wild dog. You couldn’t.
“Why didn’t you bring this up sooner? Our goal was never to settle down and have kids some day - it’s not - we’re not like that!”
“Not like what?” you asked. You were completely disheartened, now, dropping the grip you had on him. “Not serious? Not real?”
“Not normal!” he said, loud, and then he laughed, like he thought you were being funny. “I mean - we’ve never even been an actual couple - did you really think we would end up like that?”
“Maybe I did. What’s so wrong with that?”
“You know I don’t want that,” he said. “We aren’t together to have some happy ending - I never wanted that with you.”
And that was it. The last push.
But it was into anger rather than sadness; a rage instead of a broken heart; a free fall instead of a straight plummet.
“You did a great job at acting like it, Keiji.”
He laughed again, and you realized the irony in your words. The fact is that all he ever does is put on an act for other people because lying for money was his job, and you had the heart to believe he’d been real with you.
“I was never acting - obviously you can’t say the same.”
For the first time in your life, you let him have the last word. You were quick to collect some of your things and leave the room with a slamming door, and you stormed to a guest bedroom without a thought in your mind.
You didn’t cry, you didn’t let yourself feel sad. You were angry and annoyed and exhausted - maybe even a little embarrassed. And that anger kept you distracted, so you latched onto it and let it burn.
-
The next morning, you assumed everyone had already left. When a job was over and everything finally settled, most of the crew found other places to go - because they had money to spend. So you weren’t expecting to interact with anyone.
But Yachi was waiting in the hallway, still in her pajamas.
“Finally! I’ve been waiting forever for you to wake up. What took so long?”
“Don’t ask.”
“Fine. Gosh.”
“What do you want?”
“Well, I just had a few questions.”
You walked to the bathroom and she followed you into it. She closed the door behind her and then hopped up onto the counter next to the sink.
“Now that I have my money back I need to figure out what to do with it. I think I should get some new clothes, but mostly I just want to find some good food - what are the best restaurants around here, by the way? Honestly, I think you owe me lunch for the last few days. It’s the least you could do to make me feel part of the team.”
Out of nowhere, the door opened. Keiji was standing behind it.
“Can you knock?!” you immediately said, making him scoff.
“Can you learn to lock the door?”
You slammed the door in his face, and it made you feel marginally better. Then you looked over to Yachi, remembering her existence, and opened it again.
“Can I get some privacy? Please?”
“Yeah,” she said, stumbling over her words to land on her feet. “We’ll catch up later, I guess.”
You hoped later never came.
And instead of a peaceful, empty home, you were met with a full house of expectants, because you had already promised them more work to do.
“I thought you liked to get an early start.” It was Keiji, and he was talking like he wanted to start a fight. “It’s noon.”
“You could have started the meeting without me. You have all the information I do.”
“This one was your idea.”
“They’re all my ideas,” you said.
You pushed by him and went into the living room where everyone was waiting for you.
The only silver lining was seeing Ms. Kim, who had finally arrived sometime last night. She sat on the couch with a giant ball of yarn next to her, and the makings of a blue scarf sat on her lap as she knitted away. Her straight hair was shorter than it was a few weeks ago, and she had new glasses that sat on the tip of her nose, but she had the same familiarly grumpy look that always made you smile.
If you were honest, you didn’t even know what you were supposed to be talking about with them. Keiji always helped you get things in order, line up plans, and work out the tempo of meetings like these.
“Do you have the layout of the bar?” you asked him.
He was just sitting down on the couch when you looked at him. “No,” he said, arms crossed.
“Why not?”
“You didn’t tell me to get it.”
“I shouldn’t have to tell you. Did you do nothing? Where’s the list of the employees?”
“Do you think I’m your assistant? Do you think I spend twenty-four hours a day doing shit for you?”
“Am I supposed to do it all on my own?”
“It’s not that difficult, I’m sure you’d figure it out if you put in some effort. But it might take a few tries.”
“Fine,” you said. You looked around the table in front of you to see empty folders and blank papers. “Since Akaashi didn’t do his job we’ll just have to delay this a few days. And everyone can thank him for that.”
“Just because you say it’s my fault doesn’t mean it’s true. You haven’t figured that out already?”
“Since you don’t want to help I’ll just go ahead and cross you off the list of team members needed for this job - does that work for you?”
“Sounds great,” he said. “It sounds wonderful, actually - I can’t wait to see you try to do something all on your own.”
“And I can’t wait to stop hearing your voice!”
Both of you stormed out of the room at that, and slamming doors were heard on opposite sides of the house.
The silence in the living room was deafening.
“Did something… happen?” Yachi eventually asked among the group.
Ms. Kim was the first one to speak up, “They used to act this way… Must’ve had a fight.”
That made Kudo perk up with a gravelly laugh, “Oh, a lover’s quarrel.”
Honestly, Yachi couldn’t believe it. She had never seen the two of you act any way other than repulsively in love. She would have thought you had never fought before - everything seemed just perfect between the two of you.
But she was immediately interested in knowing about your past. No one had told her anything about how they got started, or what kind of work they did before now, and she was dying to know something.
“What do you mean? They used to argue a lot?”
“Ha - you could say that.”
“They were unbearable,” Bokuto said. “More unbearable than they are now, if you could believe it…”
“I don’t,” Yachi said. “Tell me about it.”
Her request was directed at Ms. Kim who did nothing but blink at her.
“Can’t you ask someone else? I’m not a storyteller!”
“Come on, Kim,” Kudo said, “we all know you love reminiscing on the good old days. Tell the newbie all about it.”
“Five years ago aren’t the good old days,” she said. “Fine. I’ll give you the quick version and spare the details. Don’t get comfortable.”
