v7/v8 made me dislike ruby a lot but v9 made me really side with her. i've been in her shoes, with having to put on a strong happy face for everyone because their problems always seem to be bigger than mine.
but to see yang walk ahead of blake to shield her from ruby really broke me. like?? do you not know your own sister?? do you genuinely think she'd harm her own teammate??
blake doesn’t need protection, and it’s weird how yang tries to shield her like ruby is about to hurt her. i get bumbleby's whole thing is "we're protecting each other"
but that doesn't mean go and protect blake (who has shown she can hold her own in a verbal argument anyway) against your own sister, yang!
sorry for the rant, i just am in shock that this was written and executed this way with no one thinking of how ruby would feel from this. ruby was somehow more effected by jaune's rant (which, while valid, doesn't change the fact that jaune basically held a whole town hostage for 10-20 years) than by yang shielding blake.
I really hate that scene because it just makes WBY look like clueless idiots who don't know how to actually care about other people's feelings beyond their own.
And it's worse because they SHOWED they could in the past volumes! Weiss is constantly aware of other people around her; she comforted Yang and listened in V5 when she cried about Blake abandoning them and was the only one in V9 to actually ask Ruby about Penny.
Blake saw that Ruby was stressed in V8 and tried to pick her up by admitting that she looked up to her, that she believed in Ruby and that their plan will work. Which while might've fed into Ruby's anxiety over everyone looking up to her and expecting so much from her, but it was still Blake understanding that Ruby was struggling and trying to pick her up however she could.
And Yang literally ran after her last Volume, literally one/two days prior to the events of V9, and hugged her while she cried over realising that her dead mother might not actually be dead and might even be a monster like the one she just killed.
But now they're suddenly so fucking oblivious it hurts, and it's worse because Yang is meant to be Ruby's overprotective sister. What kind of sister, who already showed that she can pick up when her sibling is struggling, now suddenly doesn't care and walks off to flirt with another girl?
What kind of sister steps in front of said girl to glare at her sister while she's clearly having a breakdown and doesn't even move when the older man is screaming at said sister not five seconds later while she's crying?
The next episode made it even worse by having Yang angry at Ruby for screaming at them and running away, with Weiss practically having to spell it out for her dumbass.
Weiss and Blake annoyed me with how shit they are as a friend, but Weiss at least tried to talk to Ruby about Penny, more than just asking if she was okay and accepting her brushing them off, and Blake just isn't Ruby's friend, those two have not developed any sort of believable relationship for these past nine volumes.
But Yang is a terrible sister, and Yang stans that project too much onto her need to accept that. She is not a good sister, and it isn't even her relationship with Blake that solely ruined it, it's the inability of the writers to remember that Yang was supposed to be Ruby's sister, not her teammate.

oh, character ship ask, fun!
Margaret Nearl and Yang.
:)
BOTH OF THEM WITH ME HELLO
Margaret Nearl
NOTP: Nearl x Platinum. I fucking hate it. Platinum should not be allowed on the same floor of the landship as any member of the Nearl family. Every time one of my beloved mutuals reblogs NearlPlat or BlemiPlat content I have to take a deep breath and remind myself that my mutuals are my favorite people in the world and I need to accept them, flaws and all.
BROTP: Nearl x Saria. The Healing Defenders Who Are Actually Better At Beating The Crap Out Of People Sisters. They're also self-sacrificing idiots. So much to bond over.
OTP: Nearl x Doctor. At first this was just self-indulgence, but the more I think about it, the more I think it works as an actual pairing. Nearl Alter's talk lines in particular lay such a strong foundation of mutual trust and respect and regard that I think could easily blossom into romance and it's honestly one of the few Operator x Doctor As Character Within The Narrative Rather Than Player Avatar romances I'm sold on.
Second choice pairing: Nearl x Viviana Droste
Fluffy pairing: Nearl x Doctor, Nearl x Viviana Droste, Nearl x Nightingale. I know @norondor has heard me talk at length about how cute and sweet and fluffy Doc x Nearl is in particular. Honestly, it's super easy to imagine Nearl ships being fluffy because she's just such a kind, compassionate sweetheart.
Angsty pairing: Nearl x Doctor has so much angst potential, as does Nearl x Nightingale, Nearl x Shining, and Nearl x Nightingale x Shining.
Favorite poly ship: Nearl x Shining x Nightingale (with or without Viviana),
Weirdest pairing: Nearl x Siege. A queen needs a knight.
Yang Xiao Long
Oh God this is kind of tough because my answers for pre- and post-Volume 9 are very different, so I'll give answers for both.
NOTP: Whatever the hell Adam x Yang is called. No freaking thank you.
Enabler (Ruby x Yang) is also a huge vomit moment. Incest is not wincest.
Baked Alaska (Neo x Yang) also sucks ass because Neo is an unlikable little cunt who managed to be too horrible for me to have any interest in despite her cute design and sad backstory and I don't want her anywhere near characters I have positive feelings toward.
Post-Volume 9, Bumbleby (Blake x Yang) is rapidly progressing in this direction because I am not remotely satisfied with how the writers handled it.
BROTP: Freezerburn (Yang x Weiss). Love me some Freezerbros (though I actually like them more as a romance). I adore their aesthetic and dynamic and they get some really poignant scenes together.
Sunflowyr (Yang x Ren) comes in second place because I feel like they'd be good friends if the show ever bothered to show us that outside like one hug in Volume 6. They both rely more heavily on martial arts than their fellow protagonists, though they use different styles, and I think they could have a lot of fun sparring and learning from each other. Would love to see them incorporate aspects of each other's styles.
Dragonslayer (Yang x Jaune) is a good pre-Volume 9 BROTP because Yang has always been very supportive of Jaune (despite both a rocky first impression and the FNDM's attempts to paint her as a man-hating lesbian) and they got to showcase a cute dynamic in Volume 8 in particular.
Greek Fire (Yang x Pyrrha) is my last pick here because they're both talented fighters/athletes and would probably have lots of fun working out or sparring together. Also, Pyrrha's skillset incorporates some wrestling techniques, so they'd probably be able to teach each other some cool unarmed combat tricks.
OTP: Pre-Volume 9, it was Bumbleby, but what we got out of Volume 9 was frankly embarrassing, so now it's Freezerburn. Fuck you Eddy Yang and Weiss wouldn't get divorced they'd be one of the healthiest relationships in this fucking show and frankly probably healthier than the mess y'all made of your flagship sapphic romance lmao
Second choice pairing: Pre-Volume 9, Freezerburn, and then Dragonslayer. Post-Volume 9, I don't even fuckin know anymore because Bumbleby leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I can't ship Jaune with anyone after the shitshow that was He-Jaune, Master of the DILFiverse, and I'm left picking between pairings that are decent but not overly compelling. I guess the candidates are Greek Fire, Sunflowyr, and Nuclear Winter (Yang x Winter)? Just pick whichever one pisses off the most people, I guess. Gotta break the tie somehow.
Fluffy pairing: Pre-Volume 9, Dragonslayer. Two sweet, friendly human golden retrievers. They would be so soft and loving with each other, I just know it (also Jaune would get pegged as fuck). Post-Volume 9, I feel like Greek Fire would take it but I don't really think any of the Yang pairings I like at this point would really stand above the rest in terms of fluff.
Angsty pairing: The answer to this should be Bumbleby, but this show is too afraid to actually let them address their issues beyond a cursory conversation or two so none of the delicious opportunities for conflict and pain and growth and development ever come to pass. Instead they get forced to confess by a magic fucking thunderstorm, mention surface-level aspects of each other that they like and aren't even correct about them half the time, and then kiss in a field of flowers while everyone else is busy thinking about important shit like how to get home and defeat an immortal omnicidal witch goddess. I guess I'll give it to Sunflowyr because they had actual conflict in Volume 8.
Freezerburn has potential for plenty of angst too, but it comes from external sources. They'd be helping each other through it rather than hurting each other.
Greek Fire has angst opportunities post-Fall of Beacon, I guess?
Gauntlets and Greaves (Yang x Mercury) has a lot of angst potential too, but I don't like either the ship or Mercury, so whatever.
Favorite poly ship: Pre-Volume 9? Bee's Schnees (Blake x Yang x Weiss). It has all the benefits of Bumbleby, Freezerburn, and Monochrome (Blake x Weiss), which are all excellent ships, and the additional bonus of giving Weiss two hot tops who will plow her like a tractor. As she deserves.
Post-Volume 9 I guess it's still Bee's Schnees even though neither Yang nor Blake exist as characters at this point, but this is more because a) I can't think of any other poly Yang ships I particularly care for, especially at this stage of the series, and b) I really do adore Weiss and think she deserves to be stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey. As a treat.
Weirdest pairing: Nuclear Winter. I'm not sure if the two have even directly interacted in the series outside of a scene or two in Volume 8, but they're both big sisters and self-sacrificing idiots who are hella ready to fight at a moment's notice, so that's gotta count for something, right?

This is long as I began writing and couldn’t stop but enjoy if you decide to stop and read it.
When team RWBY plus Jaune and Neo return everyone’s gotta be tackling them.
If not tackling then please let it be emotional for the Vacuo survivors. They thought RWBYJ, and Neo but not too emotional for her because she was the enemy but y’know, was dead. I can imagine this.
Nora tackling Jaune, like how she tackled Oscar (the tag says ozcar... Omfg), crying and calling him an idiot while Ren rushes over falling next to them and holding him there with Oscar short after.
Qrow pulls Yang and Ruby into a hug and starts crying which is the first time his nieces have seen him like this. They smile and hug him tighter as he goes off on how he thought no couldn’t handle loosing more people he loved, aka Summer. (I don’t think they had anything romantic I just like to say that they had more of a sibling bond than him and Raven.)
Sun would most likely be there and I’d like to see Ilia there because she witnessed the message that was broadcasted all over the world. She would have found out that Blake’s ‘dead’ but seeing her there would make her happy. Balked would be hugged by both of them as they cry and she’s tearing up happily as she tries to calm them.
Emerald, Ace Ops, Happy Huntresses, team CVFY, and their other found friends in Vacuo would be standing to the side. As well as Winter who’s pulled away because she still blames herself and saw Weiss dissipate into golden light and can’t believe what she’s seeing. She got a little closer as she would but stops herself as she feels undeserving of that affection.
(Or she full on runs to her and pulls her into a huge hug as she breaks down crying but wait I’m not done.)
Whitley full on tackles Weiss, she doesn’t fall but she does lose a little balance. (He isn’t that meaty still but he’d be working on it... I hope.) He’d cling onto his older sister like a life line, crying as Weiss hugs him back. His tears becoming happy as he is reminded of that warmth the first time they hugged. Willow would be right after, remember Winter is still in the background just standing stunned and ashamed, pulling Weiss and Whitley into the most protective motherly hold.
I would say Klein would hug her but I’m sure he’d wait. He was closest to her besides Winter and he knows her boundaries plus Winter hasn’t hugged her yet.
When Weiss realizes that Winter’s warmth isn’t there she lightly pulls away from Willow, still holding Whitley as she looks over to Winter. She can see Winter frozen, paler now than she was in Atlas looking as if she’d seen a ghost. (Now don’t mind me as I add some dialogue and story narration.)
_________
Weiss - “Winter...”
Winter freezes more, sucking in a breath. She remembers the look Weiss is giving her just like the one she had before running from the Academy and being announced as a criminal. Before Atlas fell apart. It was remorseful, full of sadness and pity.
Winter - “Wei-“
She tries to stutter something out but she can’t say it. It doesn’t come out and she feels like she’s breaking. She wishes that she could hide behind a wall but all this time, after losing Weiss she couldn’t put up that barrier anymore unless it was in a battle. She had lost her sister seeing her disappear in front of her, dying but here she was alive. She had gotten lucky but she doesn’t feel like she deserves this, this chance to see Weiss again.
She looks up to see Weiss pull away from Whitley entirely only holding onto his wrist, turning to face Winter. There was no more pity in her eyes, no it wasn’t there to begin with she had just a massive amount of sadness, remorse, something else Winter couldn’t describe. That look however broke Winter. Tears now flowing from the older sister’s eyes still nothing coming out of her mouth. Winter’s vision blurring as she couldn’t concentrate, Weiss becoming a blur and all the prior exhaustion she had from countless nights of ensuring civilians safety was catching up to her.
She could feel gravity weighing on her, then an off balance before she felt gravity take its effect on her entire body. She’s falling now, fatigue finally getting the best of her as she closes her eyes awaiting impact of the rough, sandy, earth of Vacuo... but it never comes at least not entirely. She’s on her knees now being held up by something. Winter doesn’t move for a second before her tired curiosity got the better and she reaches for what’s holding her.
She feels something, something soft, alive. She can hear a beating heart and finally feels the two arms around her back that had been wrapped around her to catch her. Her vision, still slightly blur from the tears, cleared of fatigue and tiredness as she began to address what had caught her. She the blues, pastel lilac, inner red tones, the blues and whites. She see the pale skin and remembers the softness of it every time she had held it. She can see the glint of metal as a familiar sword, one someone was so excited to show her when it had gotten finished as it was a self custom design.
She remembers this warmth that feels like home, calmness, and entire comfort. Her little sister’s touch which had managed to snap her out of rages against their bastard of a father. The one she yearned to feel again after what happened in the other dimensional road way. The warmth she had full freedom to break in but refused as she didn’t want to be veiled as week, but now. Now she wanted to break, to fall apart in her sister’s arms. Apologize for everything, for being so put back, for not following the first second she noticed Ironwood slip, for not catching her when she tried to save her from all other hardships, but it wouldn’t come out.
Instead all she could do was move her arms around Weiss and hold her sister’s warm, blood pumping, heart beating, alive form with distress. Her head still resting a top Weiss chest so she can hear the heart beat bot not in a way that makes it loud and clear or hurts Weiss. Her Ingres tighten around the clothing her sister has on before she starts stuttering out, or attempting to stutter out anything.
Winter - “I-I’m sorry W-Weiss.”
All that’s coming out now are stutters of an apology. Apology for what? The she couldn’t get to her in time? For not being there for her more? Not being as open with her emotions as Weiss was with her? Not telling her what she thought of her little sister and how proud she is of her? Maybe all of those. She can’t say anything else but feels one of Weiss’s hand remove itself from her back which only Winter can reciprocate with clutching Weiss tighter. She feels that hand on her cheek as she’s forced to look up, right at her sister, and into Weiss’ eyes. That sadness still there but there is a smile on her face, an understanding and relief in her eyes.
Weiss - “Don’t be sorry.”
Don’t be sorry? What... why not? Especially after everything that happened. After all the times she’s failed her. Why was she being so forgiving to her? Is all Winter could think of as her jaw clenched, more tears began building, her eyes squinting now at the sun that was so conveniently behind Weiss, outlining her form. She couldn’t deny Weiss’s beauty even when she was younger than this.
Her sister’s hair down and draped over her shoulders, all curled from being in a braid far maybe a little to long. Her scar over her left eye the one she got from father’s test to be allowed to go to Beacon, a smile that radiated warmth and an inward kindness, a softer look in her eyes as they glazed over once again with relief. Winter’s muscles slacked a lot at this view as she remembered all those stories that portrayed stories of beautiful angels sent down to protect and spread wellbeing’s among others. That guardian angel that each individual was to get that would disguise itself and ensure their individual was protect. Now Winter never believed those stories to be true, but she’d couldn’t help but think if her sister was that guardian angel meant to protect her and not the other way around.
She thought for years that she was protecting Weiss but instead she was being protected by her or was all her supports to fragile heart, holding it together when she felt as if she failed from pulling Whitley away from Jacques. Her drive and momentum to keep gong to ensure that one day she could fully be free, and when following Ironwood failed she was rescued again by Weiss and her drive to save the lives of Mantle. No, she wasn’t just Winter’s guardian angel, she was Whitley’s and mother’s safe haven as well.
Picking them up if every they were to fall, and waiting for them, reaching out, pulling them from darkness, and helping them shatter their mirrors’. Helping all those who were suffering by the use of her songs no matter how angry it made Jacques or how much she was struggling for freedom as well. Changing all those expectations on has of Schnees when they meet her and get to know her.
Still when she was finally brought back to reality at the tilt of Weiss’s head and growing smile as a thumb ran over Winter’s cheek again and again. Speaking once more with her soft and calm voice.
Weiss - “You’re my sister and I could never blame you for anything that happened.”
This broke Winter as her tears came falling out without pause. She buried her head into Weiss’s chest needing to hear her heart beat. Holding her closer and tighter but still nothing. Well not until...
Weiss - “I love you Winter. I will always even if I’m dead, sister.”
I love you.
There it came, all at once the pain, remorse, sorrow, distraught, but most importantly relief. Relief that her sister was alive, that she survived. Relief that she was holding her. That, whatever fucked up fate this world had going for it, she could hold her sister again and was given a second chance.
That she’d defeat anything in her path if to ensure that this unlikely chance was not wasted one bit.
_______________
Wellllll.......... I got carried away with Winter finding how to express her emotions again. Began writing and couldn’t stop. Maybe I should make more of these just with different characters and not pick on Winter’s fragile state...
Or I could continue this Schnee angst and cry myself to sleep.
Anyways, I’ve got one more thing for the reunion.
Emerald is hugged, lightly but not without meaning as she holds onto the people that first called her a friend who she thought died. She’s crying by now as well.
Qrow also hugs Weiss and Blake, by now I’ll say he adopted Blake and Weiss and holds them close to his heart like family. This surprises everyone minus the people that travelled with them for most of their journey. Especially when Weiss and Blake hug him back just as tight, well Weiss a little less because she’s not used to being physically affectionate with anyone other than her team and the repaired bonds between her and her siblings and mother.
Klein gets a hug from Weiss because he is true Schneeblings’ dad, and to top it off all of his split personalities fight for control as he cries about how worried he was and how much he missed her.
After that Weiss drags Winter over to Whitley and holds them both close as Willow hugs them. Them just standing there, not entirely fixed but just glad that all the pieces to fix their family was there again.
And that’s my take on a reunion. And no I’m not sorry about the Winter and Weiss angst with hurt/comfort.

Name 1 time Team RWBY didn't care about or help people in the show!
Well yeah
Yang destroyed a nightclub with innocent patrons in it, no, before anyone assumes so they weren't STILL in when it crumbled but Yang walked in enticed a fight and them when the dude was gonna let it slide instigated it. Weather Jr. was a bad guy or not she brought a fight to a place with innocent civilians and didn't even glace back or feel bad once.
(yang's gonna get alot of these, be on the look out.)
And no these aren't in order nor am I gonna remember every single instant cause you idiots get uppity about technicalities like how "DUUUR Ozpin isn't their boss, he's their leader." Crap.
vv read more for mobile vv
In volume 1
- Yang calls a stranger she never met a lost cause cause she wasn't "graced" by yang's presence.
- Velvet was getting bullied and they all sat there, people sworn to protect the peace just watched racism happen (Mimics IRL too!) but only cared when jaune was involved.
- "You're discriminatory!" "I'm a victim!"
- The filthy faunus from the boat
- weiss went on a racist rant about faunus and never apologized to Blake or Sun. She then worded it as if she was doing weiss a favor for being the way she was.
- "I lieeeed" Thanks jaune you're creepy and an asshole
In volume 2
- Yang barely knows Blake and is shoving her to prove a point, even if she cares about her, shoving a stressed out and tired woman then inviting yourself for a hug is super uncomfortable.
- they drag a mech to a freeway sending cars flying and they dont even talk about it or try to see if those people are okay.
- Faunus are lied to by humans that the train they're taking that the explosives will be used to topple the government, the characters never try to explain that roman is just gonna use them as bodies and they could all try to stop him and disarm the bombs and try fixing the government together. There's never a talk.
- They seal the entrance and murder a bunch of faunus and then take a nap.
In volume 3
- Even if mercury is a villain from yang's perspective he's a fellow challenger and she punches him way after his aura breaks which was considered illegal.
- Pretty much everyone literally going "In this friendly competition, let's smack talk that we're gonna make the other bleed." (I know who says that but Yatsu literally is like "I wont hold back." like this is suppose to be FRIENDLY.
- Yang gets pissed that blake registers this thing called fear and guilt and runs away cause she blames herself for her Ex's mental stability. But later Yang admits she wanted her there physically for her benefit, fuck whatever blake wanted I guess.
In volume 4
- "Oh no we gotta hurry to haven, let's walk."
- Ren: I should probably tell them there's a powerful grimm at my old home and they're carrying an injured man but I dont wanna. (Confirmed by miles btw that he wanted to show that there's a bit of selfishness in that decision...but If you're my friend and there's a shark in the water I'll still tell you? Cause I'm not an asshole.)
- Everything to do with Qrow
- Everything to do with jaune's manpain
-Blake about to draw her weapon on a ship captain
- Weiss doesn't' even yell no or reach out as her summon is about to attack a person.
In volume 5
- Ozpin not teaching ruby to use her silver eyes or even telling her.
- Yang literally punching a dude in a bar (No I'm not saying he didnt deserve it. But Miles and kerry call it yang brushing him off in the commentary and you dont brush a person off by grabbing them so they couldn't be brushed off, that's the opposite XD)
- Them arriving in mistral and not being in a hurry to tell anyone in charge about cinder, what she plans to do and anything about beacon.
- Oscar literally projecting on ruby for no reason (honestly we didn't need a second jaune, ruby barely get's development but that's a whole other rant.)
- "Humans didn't do this WE did." Bitch they just live there don't tell them they gotta EARN equality, was this written by a brainlet? (Yes it was)
- Ruby punching oscar a kid with no battle experience square in the face during sparring and cheering after.
- Literally forgiving Ironwood, genocidal ass but instantly going "Let's just murder leo the minority. No jail time, no "why's" just end them from Ozpin.
volume 6
- TURN OFF THE TURRETS PROTECTING THE TRAIN AND KILLING GRIMM THE PEOPLE ARE SCARED XD
- Yang trying to intimidate maria for going "hey fighting in a blizzard is dangerous for two reasons, 1. it's a blizzard and 2. Grimm sense all of your guy's anger, we should find shelter." And yang tries to tell her to shut up XD
- Qrow punching a child regardless of his feelings on ozpin, he's still hosting a child's body
- Team RWBY drawing their weapons on oscar
- Oscar helping them find jinn's name and kinda holding ozpin back and then after Qrow punches him yang balls up her fist and demands he bring him back out. (No matter how stressed you are, oscar is still a child and if your uncle is gonna punch, you the more rash of the two will definitely punch.
- Them being invited into jaune's sister's house and jaune putting a hole in the wall and it never comes up with the couple.
- Jaune yelling at oscar and grabbing him by his collar and for some reason the kid looks up to him???
- Ruby's stupid "we never needed adult help" speech while she sits in an adult couple's house and got lead there by adults and learned how to use her silver eyes to save her and her friends by an elderly lady literally standing behind her. (Great, selfish)
- Salem (she isn't a hero but people for some reason sympathize with her) Literally watches people get thanos snapped and just goes "I'll bring more." She had to spend at least a week with these people to form alliances, and get to know some of them and this was all for ONE GUY! This is literally what people laugh at Obito for it's the exact same motivation of making a pile of people's bodies all of their benefit.
- Also Salem: Walking through the empty world literally going "oh no with no people....how will I get my revenge!?" This is shippuden Esc Writing.
Future volumes
(So I stopped at vol 6 thank god but a friend of mine told me what happened in the future arcs.)
- Literally NOW weiss owns up for her family and her complicit attitude only for a new faunus to go "well it doesn't involve me so I dont care."
- Ren calling out yang's rash attitude and then her stepping infront of him fist balled, because again yang thinks she's a god and getting her ideas and thoughts questioned or challenge invites PHYSICAL VIOLENCE.
And no I dont care about future volumes so dont come into my inbox preaching "Oh well jaune ran into a house and saved some kittens so that should absolve all of their heavy flaws cause I'm a smart." : )

How I would do RWBY pt.6
Season Six.
RWBY and JNR (and Ozpin, Qrow, and Ilia) on route to Atlas.
SSSN and CFVY have responsibilities in Mistral so they stay back. IE: Ozpin now doubts their loyalty due to their headmaster being compromised.
RWBY and co. get stopped at SDC border checkpoint.
Almost get detained for questioning.
Blake remembers the last time a friend of hers was ‘detained for questioning’.
Winter intervenes, using the authority of the military. Allows RWBY and co. into Atlas.
As soon as they get a moment away from the grunts Winter embraces her sister and admonishes her for not even leaving a note when she left.
She understands why she left, but still.
Blake ribs her a little.
Yang points out to everyone that she’s the only one who’s never ran off without telling anyone.
Winter takes them all to Ironwood.
Ironwood explains that the Atlas military has been doing everything they can to keep the peace short of using scorched earth tactics.
The SDC and the White Fang have armed patrols going through the streets, are having regular firefights in the streets, harassing civilians, and blowing shit up, but almost always peace out when the military shows up.
Jacques is incommunicado and Sienna hasn’t been publicly seen in Atlas for over a decade.
The Atlas government is a bunch of corrupt fuckwits taking bribes from both sides (and Salem too).
Ironwood is doing all he can, but he’s being forced to do it with his hands tied behind his back.
Ruby wants to know if anyone’s seen Cinder.
Ironwood tells her that they’ve been busy with more pressing matters.
Winter says that she has encountered and even fought CEMN.
She lost half of her unit and CEMN got away.
No sign since then and no agents to spare to chase them anyway.
Ruby’s disappointment is curbed by being reunited with rebuilt Penny.
Aren’t data backups a beautiful thing?
She lucked out that her memory core wasn’t destroyed with the rest of her old body.
Her new body, to make room for newer and better features, had to do away with the data backup thing.
If she dies now, she’s dead for good. She only had the one extra life.
Both are beyond overjoyed to see each other again.
Both thought the other was dead until Penny saw Ruby on a news broadcast from Mistral.
Ruby cries while saying that she never thought she’d be able to hold Penny in a hug ever again.
Ciel is there too, not that anyone in or out of universe really cares. (…I care)
She is Penny’s supervisor as well as both Ironwood’s and Winter’s aide.
If she was old enough, she’d take up every vice there is due to how crappy her jobs are.
Everyone notices that Ironwood’s forces are almost equal parts human and faunus.
They cite that they’re sick of the SDC’s many abuses, the White Fang’s lies and broken promises, and the self-righteous indignation of the both of them.
Both sides suck and they have chosen option three.
Option three being telling both sides to go fuck themselves.
Ilia starts to think about things.
Weiss and Winter go to try to talk to Jacques to get whatever intel they can and/or stop the fighting.
Blake and Ilia try the same with Sienna, following whatever dead drop signs they can.
SDC secretary tries to wave Weiss and Winter off.
Jacques hears that his daughters are here and drops everything to talk to them.
W+W try and get Jacques to de-escalate.
He says he’s stuck in a stalemate and can’t even if he wanted to.
If he de-escalates then the White Fang will go wild at the sign of weakness.
He also admits that he’s ready to do the same should the White Fang try to de-escalate.
W+W tell him there’s a good chance that most of the more recent problems are Cinder and co. operating as accelerationists.
Willow enters the picture and sides with her daughters.
Eventually browbeat him into agreeing to a negotiation with Sienna if she also agrees.
Weiss has moment with her mother, finally addressing family problems.
Willow tells her that Jacques was contacted long ago by someone willing to give him an extra monetary and military edge in the fight.
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that that someone was Salem.
Weiss is considerably less optimistic about the peace talks now.
Blake and Ilia manage to track down Sienna.
They get sneers and threatening looks from the White Fang members at her hideout.
Blake gets a ‘I’m sorry you had to kill your ex-boyfriend’ hug from aunty Sienna.
Blake accepts the hug in the name of diplomacy.
Doesn’t mention that a good chunk of Adam’s problems were made worse by Sienna’s actions and prompting or were just straight up her fault.
Blake and Ilia try to get Sienna to de-escalate.
Yeah, talking, that’s how you stop violent terrorists, totally. That’s a thing that works.
Sienna tells them that she will only de-escalate if Jacques does so first.
Until she gets a token gesture, it’s business as usual.
Blake tells Sienna about Cinder and that she’s probably causing most of the recent issues for Salem.
Ilia corroborates.
Sienna says she already knows and doesn’t care as long as it might give her an edge.
Damn the ever increasing body count.
Besides, Salem herself has been bankrolling a good chunk of the White Fang’s efforts for a while now.
Blake leaves in a huff and Ilia goes with her, both now entirely disillusioned with Sienna’s leadership as well as Sienna herself.
Ruby, Penny, and Ciel are hunting for signs of Cinder.
Get minimal results but it’s a nice opportunity for them to reconnect.
Penny is more than a little worried at how starved for vengeance Ruby is.
Ciel is skeptical as to if it’s a good idea to leave Penny alone with Ruby.
Yang is with Ironwood, trying to help however she can. Mostly kicking the ass of anyone who slacks off.
Yang is a pretty damn good XO.
She may not have the head for direct leadership, but is good at making troops do their best.
She has gained experience in such things since working with RWB.
Jaune is strategizing circles around Ironwood’s upper echelon.
Hasn’t acted this smug since wargaming night.
Ren and Nora are helping the boots on the ground, even managing to catch a good amount of both SDC militia and White Fang members.
Easier to legally prosecute people if you can catch them. Looks better in the papers and such.
Ozpin is conspiring with his inner circle as to what Salem might be planning in Atlas.
Interfering with the WF-SDC conflict to this degree isn’t Salem’s style.
She didn’t start this one, but it is her style to start a war and bankroll one or both sides.
However, she would leave it at that and let the two sides kill each other as they naturally would.
Come to the conclusion that Cinder is operating as a rogue element from Salem. That makes her less predictable and, as such, all the more dangerous.
That still leaves them in the dark as to what Salem is planning in Atlas or if she even has an active plan in Atlas for that matter.
Ruby meets Penny’s ‘father,’ a weird mad scientist who has a lot of projects ranging in levels of insanity.
Projects include but aren’t limited to: Super lasers, ICBMs, logging the genealogy of most of the planet (this one is important), Penny, making good tasting fruits taste like cat fur, pineapple on pizza, and so many more horrifying crimes against decency.
Atlas higher ups would get rid of him for being insane, but he has tenure.
Some of his projects are rather useful, too.
Ruby makes her excuses and leaves with Penny as the scientist tries to reveal certain revelations.
Yang discovers a little criminal element in the city.
That little criminal is Neo.
Yang learned her lesson from last time, takes her time to take Neo down.
Neo, surprised at how badly she’s losing, escapes with a tracker that Yang plants on her.
Weiss and Blake meet up to touch base on whatever progress they’ve made in peace talks.
Frustratingly little.
They’re both about to return to their contacts and relay plans when Sienna herself shows up with a sizable entourage.
Says that Weiss is coming with her as a bargaining chip against Jacques and asks Blake to stay out of it.
She ain’t gonna.
Ilia takes care of Sienna’s entourage.
WB vs Sienna.
Fight is cut off when SDC forces come to detain as much of RWBY as they can ‘for their own good’.
Goes about as well as expected.
Willow shows up to kick the crap out of them while Blake and Weiss cheese it.
Weiss and Winter had to get it from somewhere and they sure as shit didn’t get it from Jacques.
RWBY reconvenes.
Peace talk plan failed because both sides are led by lying douchebags more concerned about winning than the actual reasons why the fighting started.
Both sides are also being prompted to keep fighting by the same ancient witch-bitch and are too ignorantly angry to even consider the idea.
Fighting ain’t stopping but they can at least see if they can nab the people making things worse.
Ruby is eager to see if she can find and murder Cinder.
Weiss calls for an intervention on Ruby’s vengeance fetish.
Tries to tell her that this is ridiculously unhealthy and taking Cinder alive could infinitely be more useful.
Ruby lashes back at her, citing that Cinder killed Penny in front of all of them.
Penny then comes in to say salutations to everyone.
Ruby then cites that Cinder killed Ozpin.
Ozpin tells them that he’s been ‘killed’ plenty of times, Cinder ain’t special.
Ruby then cites that Cinder killed Pyrrha.
JNR point out that Ruby said less than a dozen words directly to Pyrrha during their time at Beacon and are very offended that Ruby would try and use Pyrrha’s death as a justification for her vendetta.
Ruby refuses to not go after Cinder but does reluctantly agree to try and calm down about it.
Weiss gives her a hug and says that she’s an idiot but she’s still her best friend.
Penny befriends JNR because she’s Penny.
RWBY sets off right as newest round of street skirmishes happens.
Both sides have tanks, explosives, and things that you’d need a really damn good lawyer to justify usage for ‘security’ purposes.
The latest delivery of bribes has arrived so the Atlas government orders that the military stands down and stays out of the conflict entirely.
Ironwood (with Ozpin’s prompting and despite Qrow’s objections) decides fuck that noise.
Orders that any and all SDC or White Fang combatants are to be met with extreme prejudice (the shooting kind of prejudice, not the racism kind).
What’s the government going to do, he’s the one with all the guns.
The monkey with the biggest stick makes the rules.
Peace through power! Peace through power! Peace through power!
JN(P)R work to help maintain order and minimize collateral damage in the warfare.
The P now stands for Penny.
RWBY maneuver through a warzone to where the tracker leads them.
Tracker is leading them to SDC headquarters.
CEMN are planting a big stupid bomb with a big stupid White Fang symbol on it.
CEMN season/arc final boss fight.
The plan was B fights C, Y fights N, R fights M, and Y fights E.
But we all know that was never actually going to happen.
W+Y fight E+M.
B-level 2v2 rival match. Go!
Countdown ‘til boom-boom starts.
Blake gets to work on the bomb. (She’s already had her decisive rival fight)
CEMN did their homework. It’s the exact kind of bomb that the White Fang would have used.
That also means she knows exactly how to disarm it.
Ruby chases Cinder and Neo further up the building.
Corners them and prepares for a fight.
Cinder points out that it took an insane rage state for Ruby to stand a chance and now not only does she not have that, it’s two on one.
Neo then cheap shots Cinder.
Neo reveals that she doesn’t even hate Ruby.
Ruby vs Roman was just business. Live by the sword, die by the sword. No hard feelings.
Her involvement with CEMN was just a ploy to fuck over Cinder, whom she blames for Roman’s death.
Cinder roped him into this crap, not to mention she was the one that set off the bomb that killed him.
Neo’s been subtly fucking up Cinder’s plans as much as possible without being noticeable.
If not for her, Atlas would have exploded while RWBY was chilling in Haven.
Neo’s plan was that Ruby would go berserk again and tear Cinder to pieces with Neo providing the extra edge to Ruby so that another draw doesn’t occur.
All she needed was the three of them alone together.
Is a little disappointed at Ruby’s level headedness, but is fine with helping non-berserk Ruby beat the ever-loving shit out of Cinder.
And yes, she manages to communicate all of this without speaking a word.
Cinder goes all out but so do Ruby and Neo.
Fire vs White fire with illusion bullshit.
Cinder’s grimm arm is an even greater liability than the last fight due to Ruby’s growing skill with the white fire.
Still a very dangerous opponent.
Neo gets her shit kicked in, but due to her help, Cinder is weakened.
Ruby gains a close victory.
Now comes the moment of truth.
Cinder cowers away as Ruby approaches with the scythe raised.
Neo is enjoying what she’s seeing.
Ruby cuts off the grimm arm, burning it afterwards, and cauterizes Cinder’s stump.
Neo feels gypped but shuts up (ha) when Ruby glares at her.
Says that the both of them are under arrest, but she’ll say something nice about Neo helping.
Neo is both annoyed and not willing to argue with the girl who can shoot white fire out of her eyes.
Emerald uses Willow as hostage, seemingly kills her (hallucination).
Weiss awakens her second semblance. Summoning. Summons the knight from the white trailer.
Kicks the ever-loving crap out of Emerald who then reveals that it was just her semblance and Willow is just unconscious.
Weiss still punches her and knocks her out.
Speaking of punches, Yang overpowers Mercury and knocks him out too.
Team CEMN is down like Frazier.
The bomb’s defused too.
Everyone’s proud of Ruby for resisting the urge to do brutal murder. ‘Cept Neo, that is.
Oh wait, the war is still happening.
Oh wait, no it isn’t.
SDC and White Fang stand down.
Willow and Ilia assumed command of their respective organizations, exposing all the accelerationist false-flags, and the fact that both sides were being led by members of the same Cabal.
Both sides de-escalated, stopped fighting, and detained their respective leaders to make them sit down to peace talks.
Ciel even manages to convince Ironwood to not have all of both sides lined up against a wall and shot.
Blake and Weiss give speech about togetherness and neighborliness and sunshine and you get the idea.
Jacques and Sienna both agree that ‘yeah, we could have handled all of this better, huh?’ and accept jail time while people try to fix relations that they came very close to permanently ruining.
They would have both gone to jail anyway but it sounds better to say that they ‘accepted’ the penalties.
CEMN is now also in custody. (This is seen by a motherfucker that looks like a black armored Myrmidon).
Ironwood officially crosses the Rubicon (RWBYcon, A-hey~) and deposes the corrupt fuckwits in the Atlas government and puts himself in charge as military governor.
Makes a point to emphasize to Ozpin that his position is very much temporary.
He’ll set up a new government after they’ve made Salem calm down for a century.
Ozpin ignores him and reminds everyone that this whole thing had shockingly little to do with Salem’s current masterplan.
They still have work to do.
But they did just finish taking out every meaningful member of The Cabal.
So for now they’ve earned a little party to blow off some steam.
Season six done.
World Travel arc done.

That’s a Cool Look - Part 4
a RWBY Truth or Dare AU skit
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Neo, sighing and nodding at Cinder in the mirror: Alright. *puts her scissors down* How’s that look?
Cinder, reaching up and messing with her new short haircut: I love it. It’s so light, it’s weird...in a good way.
Neo, blushing excess hair from the side of Cinder’s head: No need to touch it up?
Cinder, shaking her head: I think it’s perfect. Thank you, Neo.
Neo, smiling: Of course. *steps back* Well, are you ready to come out?
Cinder, taking a deep breath: I’ve never been more ready.
Neo: Glad to have you as a part of the enby family~
Cinder, standing from her seat: Oh yeah, that means we’re, like...gender...cousins?
Neo, snorting a laugh: Sorta? More like...gender neighbors?
Cinder: Yeah, yeah, that sounds better than... yeah.
Neo, nodding: Ready? *offers her hand*
Cinder, smiling and taking her hand: I am.
Neo: Then out we go! *leads her to the door and opens it*
Cinder, getting confetti blown in her face: What the—
Ruby: HAPPY GENDER REVEAL DAY, CINDER!
Everyone else: *cheers and claps for her*
Cinder, eye wide: Uhh.
Neo, grinning up at her: Don’t hate me, but I might have organized a party.
Cinder, sighing and chuckling: I swear, Neo fucking Politan... *voice trails off when Blake walks up to her* Oh, hey Blake.
Blake, smiling at her: I’m proud of you.
Cinder, chuckling nervously: Well, I mean...I didn’t do anything except, you know...
Blake, stepping forward and gently hugging her: Whatever, I’m still proud.
Cinder, standing still for a moment, then hugging them back: Thank you, Blake.
Yang, clapping Cinder on the shoulder: Whelp, arm buddy, looks like the theme of trans brunets in the friend group just keeps on rolling, huh?
Cinder, parting from Blake and scoffing: Ha ha.
Yang: Tch. I’m joking, dummy. *hugs her* I’m happy for you.
Cinder: Thank you...
Ruby: Come see the cake we made!
Cinder, walking over to a nearby table: A cake? Are you serious?
Ruby: It’s a party, isn’t it? *opens a box to reveal a cake frosted in white, blue and pink* Trans cake! And it only took me and Weiss two tries!
Weiss, scoffing: I said I was sorry already! I thought you said baking soda...
Ruby, grinning: Wanna try a slice?
Cinder: I mean, I can’t say no.
Ruby, handing her a cake server: Then do the honors!
Cinder, sighing: If this cake looks like what I think it’ll look like on the inside... *she sliced through the cake, then pulled a piece out, revealing four colored tiers, black, purple, white, and yellow* I’m my fucking gods...
Ruby: Boom! *confetti popper noises* Gender REVEALED!
Weiss: YOU GOT CONFETTI ALL OVER THE CAKE, YOU DUNCE!
Ruby: Oh. Heheh, whoops...
Cinder, snickering: It’s fine, I can pick it off. *sets her slice on a paper plate* Thank you, Ruby and Weiss. This was...way more than I expected.
Ruby: Of course! Anything for our enby bestie!
Weiss: Yeah, uhh, what she said.
Cinder: Isn’t Blake your enby bestie?
Blake: I abdicated that title for the day.
Cinder, giggling: Of course you did.
Emerald, hugging Cinder from behind: Wooo! Go team leader!
Cinder, stumbling: Alright, alright, off!
Emerald, giggling: Sorry, just wanted to give you that. *wraps an enby pride flag around her* Merc helped me sew it together.
Mercury, looking to the side: You could’ve left that part out...
Cinder, chuckling and rolling her eye: Idiots.
Emerald: We love you too~
Mercury: You’re cool, I guess. *tries not to smile*
Cinder, grinning: Thanks, team. *steps forward and hugs them both*
Emerald: *hugs*
Mercury: Wait, who’s...
Neo: *squirms into the group hug*
Mercury: Oh.
Neo: ^_^
Ruby, looking on, a tear in her eye: Aren’t they just the best team?
Yang: Well, second best, I’ll give them that.
Nora, popping up beside her: Maybe a close third?
Yang: Perhaps. *looks at Ruby* Where you going?
Ruby: None of your business. *stealthily pulls out a small envelope and tucks it into Cinder’s back pocket*
Neo, noticing Ruby: *knowing nod*
Ruby: *nod nod* *walks away whistling*

“we can’t go back in time, so stop trying to reverse what you said.” for white rose
Tumblr media
For white rose:
#13  “we can’t go back in time, so stop trying to reverse what you said.”
#23  “well the probability of that is 0, but you go ahead.”
hi!! hope it’s ok that I did two-in-one. here’s a short fill featuring future white rose…………….my favorite kind of angst, and a LOT of gratuitous bumbleby
*******
She hasn’t seen her since the engagement party. Which, if anyone is asking, is perfectly fucking fine. It’s only been six months, and she’s been really busy anyway.
And the engagement party had been a disaster, as far as Weiss is concerned. But it’s not like Yang and Blake would have noticed if an entire Atlas fleet dropped an air raid on their doorstep.
The caterers had been late, and the florist delivered Easter lilies instead of calla lilies, which completely clashed with the color scheme, and Ruby somehow managed to stay a room away from her the entire time, gnawing on her bottom lip, sipping a virgin cocktail and hiding behind Yang every time Weiss got close.
But that was six months ago. And Ruby has been away on a contract for most of it. Or so Weiss has gathered from the sparse texts that hit the group chat every time Ruby allegedly gets service.
They’re living in the fucking digital era, how hard is it to locate a cell tower?
But this is the bachelorette party and, at the brides’ demands, she has nowhere to hide – and Weiss will be hiding hardly anything, for that matter.
“Why do I have to wear this?”
Blake says, “I like it,” at about the same time that Yang says, “It looks hot.”
They share an amused glance over the rim of their drinks, and Yang sidles across the room towards Weiss to pluck at the strap of her dress.
Lowcut and mostly sheer, the hemline only just brushes the tops of her thighs, the bodice dipping low, only a zipper and a prayer holding it in check.
“You said Blake could dress you.” Yang smiles. “You should have seen this coming.”
“What can I say?” Blake sinks deeper into the window seat under the hotel room’s enormous bay windows. “I’m a boob girl.”
The window panes are thrown open, a salty sea breeze ruffles her hair, and her ears flick, eyes squinting shut as she shifts deeper into the sunlight drenching the crushed velvet cushion.
With Yang butting into her space, still tugging slightly at the sheer straps of her dress, Weiss is unfortunately face to face with the proof.
“Apparently.” Frowning, Weiss tugs the top of the dress up, figuring if she adjusts the fabric enough, she’ll get some kind of coverage. “You guys do know you two aren’t technically supposed to spend your bachelorette party together, right? Isn’t that, like, a break from tradition?”
“Since when are we traditional?” Blake asks.
“And I’m not hiring strippers,” Weiss says.
“Who needs strippers?” Yang laughs. “We have you in that dress.”
Blake grins. She drains the last of her drink, and stares at the melting ice sullenly.
Yang moves to take it from her hand, swaps it with her own full glass in exchange for a kiss.
Weiss pauses from wrestling with her dress to watch them – the ease of it, the familiarity. Yang tucks her mouth against Blake’s cheek happily, lets herself be pulled down for a second longer kiss, nipping at Blake’s bottom lip.
Burying her face in one hand, Weiss reaches blindly for her drink, nearly knocking it to the ground in the process. “Okay, knock it off. I scheduled in plenty of time for that tonight.”
Blake pulls away curiously, one hand still wrapped around Yang’s bicep. “Did you block out time during our bachelorette for Yang and I to make out?”
“I just meant that there will be, you know, leisure time.” Weiss presses her flushed cheeks to the cool condensation on the glass, feels water bead on hot skin.
Grinning, Yang bounces to her feet. “Is there enough time for a quickie? Did you dictate exactly where and when I’m allowed to use tongue?”
If this wasn’t a five-star hotel, and if this wasn’t a crystal glass, and if this martini wasn’t hitting the spot right now, Weiss swears she would throw it at her.
“You asked me to help plan, okay? I was just doing my job as maid of honor.” She knows she sounds whiny, can feel the constricting, scratchy pitch in her throat, hates that everything is hitting so much harder right now. She feels on edge, trapped, anxiety that even a beach side resort can’t tame.
She can tell Yang hears it in her voice, watches her face soften, lips pursing in that signature look of concern. Eyebrows bunching, she beckons Weiss closer. Weiss complies, taking small steps with bare feet. Like this, her head barely comes up to Yang’s shoulder, and she has to tilt her head back to look at her.
“You know we’re just teasing,” Yang bullies her into a careful hug, arms around her back, dropping a kiss against the top of her head.
Beside them, still seated, Weiss can feel Blake’s hand reach out to touch her thigh, petting once, careful. “You did a killer job, Weiss.” Then, quieter. “You know, seeing her again, it’s going to be –”
“I don’t want to talk about it.” Weiss’s voice is muffled against Yang’s collarbones, and she turns her cheek flat against the warm, freckled skin, inhaling the smell of post-workout sweat, of sunlight and the faint sharpness of her deodorant.
After so many years, it relaxes her more than it stifles, and she feels Yang’s arms tighten, a hand rubbing carefully at the tense knots in her spine.
“You look really good,” Yang says quietly. “And you planned an amazing party.” She shifts, and Weiss catches her reaching for Blake out of the corner of her eye. “And even if everything goes wrong tonight, tomorrow Blake is going to by my wife, so it’s like,” a shrug that ripples against Weiss, still wrapped in a tight hold, “everything is already perfect.”
“Yang,” Blake says, soft, careful. The single word has so much adoration it almost stings. She stands from the bench, wriggles closer until Yang folds her into the hug. Weiss works an arm free to wrap it around Blake’s waist, accepts the kiss dropped against her temple.
“You’re right,” she says, peeling away just enough to look up, to look at them looking at each other. “Everything is going to be fine.”
**
Everything is not fine.
They were supposed to leave the club thirty minutes ago. She had reserved a private cove along the beach for the wind-down portion of the night, had planned to have everything wrapped by midnight so Blake and Yang could get enough rest before the big day, or whatever.
It’s not exactly a night of tantalizing debauchery, but she figures they’ll have enough of those in their future.
Instead, she’s leaning up against a sticky bar top. The floor is tacky under her feet, and her heels keep getting stuck in the refuse of spilled drinks. She’s trying desperately to close the bar tab with Blake fully draped over her shoulders.
She’s practically dead weight at this point, and Weiss can feel the beginning rumblings of a purr while Blake rubs her cheek against Weiss’s shoulder.
“She’s just so funny,” Blake says. To her credit, she hardly slurs. “I mean – look at her.”
Under the pulsing lights of the dance floor, suspended in static-shocks of green-blue-red, Yang and Ilia are half-grinding, half-grappling. The intervals of flashing lights wash them in turn – open mouths, laughing, tosses of long hair, swaying hips.
Blake sighs, breath warm against Weiss’s ear. “And so hot.”
Weiss plucks her lien card from the bartender with a thanks, palms them a hefty tip, and sinks back into Blake’s embrace. Perched on a swiveling bar stool, Blake is holding her from behind, two arms around her shoulders, Weiss leaning back between her knees.
“She is certainly – something.” Weiss tries to wave them over. Yang waves back, enthusiastically, entirely missing the point. “Idiot.”
Spotting Blake, Yang pouts. Mouths something. Behind her, Weiss can feel Blake laugh.
“I’m going to go dance,” Blake says. She squirms off the bar stool, kneeing Weiss in the back in the process. “You want to come?”
“You know,” Weiss says, watches Yang light up as Blake takes half a step toward the dance floor, “I’m going to sit this one out. Wheel’s up in ten.”
Blake hardly hears her, already striding toward the strobing lights, a confident walk belying any inebriation, tossing her short, dark hair over her shoulders. She falls into the beat and sway of the music easily, Yang’s hands palming her hips, stooping to whisper something in her ear.
Weiss turns away. Decides, suddenly, she has to pee. If just because waiting in the snaking bathroom line will give her something to do.
The rest of the bachelorette party is scattered around the bar and, to no one’s surprise, Ruby is nowhere to be seen.
She had met them all at the hotel earlier – let Yang wrestle her into a headlock, and graced Blake with a long hug. She looked – good. Wearing a sleeveless blouse and short skirt, paired with combat boots, it felt distinctly her. But she had cut her hair again, a layered bob falling just under her chin, and a fresh, raised red scar puckered at her shoulder, black stitches visible in another on her thigh, just under her hemline – looking distinctly like an animal bite.
She had hugged Weiss hello, brief and glancing, but even that – the innate smell of her, the cording strength of her muscles – had made Weiss feel sick with guilt.
With a tightly packed itinerary – cocktails at the bar, dinner reservations at a swanky Vacuan hot spot, then a meandering stroll to the club where they are now – Ruby had been able to avoid her easily. Or Weiss avoided her. It was hard to tell.
There was a row of single-stall bathrooms, and the line moved at a crawl. Trapped between other clubgoers, the close-humid air of the bar was thick with sweat, the stink of fruity body spray and the heady sugar of watered-down mixed drinks.
Like this, penned in on either side, trapped between snatches of conversation, between the blurred movement of bodies, the music bobbing heads, tapping feet, she feels entirely distant from the people around her.
It’s like she’s suffocated under the weight of some unseen barrier, her on one side, everyone else on the other. Her drinks rush to her head now, warping sound, blurring her vision, slowing the world to fragments. Beside her a man’s mouth moves as he talks to a friend, she looks at his teeth. Thinks again of the mark on Ruby’s thigh.
She’s at the head of the line now, and is suddenly desperate to escape the dim light, the noise. She lurches for the door, finds it unlocked, hurries inside. The music mutes instantly, like she’s pressed her face underwater, only the tempo of the bass follows.
It’s only after she falls back against the inside of the door, face flushed, breathing hard, that she realizes she isn’t alone.
Of course.
It’s Ruby, mid-motion, drying her hands with a pulpy, brown paper towel. Eyes comically wide, her perfect rosebud mouth dropped open, she looks deer-caught, flighty. Her skin shines with sweat, likes she’s been dancing – which, Weiss knows she has, had watched her spinning Nora on the dance floor about three drinks ago – and her clothes are a little mussed, blouse half-untucked, skirt rucked high on her hips.
Weiss is staring. She’s caught, and she staring.
Ruby tosses the paper towel into the bin without looking, crosses her arms protectively over her chest.
“Hey, Weiss.”
“Hi.” Her own voice sounds embarrassingly quiet.
A beat. They both start and stop sentences at the same time.
Ruby says, “you look – ” as Weiss says, “I should – ” and both fragments strangle away to nothing.
Ruby steps closer. Tries again. “You look really good.” Her eyes flit down, fix on Weiss’s chest, and her cheeks flush. “Did Blake pick that out?”
Softly, “yeah.”
Ruby smiles then – genuine, toothy, at her most Yang when her dimples press deep into her cheeks – “I can tell.”
Breathing a laugh, Weiss presses an arm to her stomach. “She is getting married tomorrow, I thought I should let her have it, just this once.”
Ruby’s face softens further, and she rubs at the back of her neck, like she’s curbing a reflex to reach for her. Crowded between the sink and the commode, it isn’t the perfect place for a reunion. The air smells sharp, like cleaning chemicals, but not enough to mask the lingering scent of vomit. The walls are close and dark, gratified with sharpie scribbles and feathery layers of stickers and posters, corners curling up to reveal the patchwork of histories underneath.
Weiss thinks this is a huge mistake. Weiss thinks this is the best thing to happen all night. Thinks this is the most herself she has felt in months, standing a few feet away from Ruby – close enough she can make out the sleepless shadows her eyes, can see the freckle at the corner of her mouth, can feel the tension, the possibility, of a conversation between them.
“I missed you,” she says.
Instantly, Ruby’s face hardens. It’s unfamiliar on her round, graceful futures. Her lips turn down, and her muscles in her jaw pop. “You don’t get to say that.”
“I can’t miss you?”
“You broke up with me. So, no. You don’t get to miss me.”
Weiss wrings her hands, feels panic rise in her throat like nausea. “We were never together,” she says, voice climbing, knows immediately it was the wrong thing to say.
Worse than anger, Ruby looks sad now, too, eyes glassy with a dangerous cocktail of fury and tears.
“We were fucking for nine months. I don’t know what else you can call that.”
“It was casual – ”
“You told me you loved me. Does that feel casual to you?”
“I do love you,” Weiss says. The metal of the door is cold through her dress. She wonders at the line outside; wonders how much time they have before the others come looking. “I didn’t mean for things to end I just – I just needed some space.”
“We can’t go back in time, so stop trying to reverse what you said,” Ruby says, a harsh whisper. “You knew exactly what you were doing.”
Ruby lurches forward like she’s going to leave, and Weiss presses back against the doorknob, instinctively, effectively blocking her.
Ruby flinches away, surprise flashing across her face, and Weiss feels her stomach drop at her own action. It feels like the kind of thing her father would have done, her brother. To keep her in there, to keep her caged.  She steps away from the door, vodka messy and drowning.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that.” She turns her back, presses her face into her hands. “You can go, I’m so sorry.”
There’s silence, then the hush of footsteps. She waits to hear the lock click, for Ruby to slip away, but she feels the press of Ruby behind her, instead.
Ruby brings her hands up to Weiss’s shoulders carefully, like she’s waiting for permission. Weiss leans back into the touch. Exhales slowly, rubs hard at her eyes. She can feel her makeup blurring, is embarrassed when the heel of her palm comes away wet.
She sniffles, chokes out a hollow laugh. “I can’t believe I’m crying in a bathroom at the club. I’m a lesbian cliché.”
“Hey,” Ruby’s voice is gentle. Her hands tighten, rubbing soothingly at her upper arms. “I also cried, so. It kind of cancels out, if you think about it.”
Weiss laughs again, real this time, feels the firm muscle of Ruby against her shoulder blades. The buttons of her shirt press hard into her skin, and despite the situation, it ignites a familiar kind of thrill. “You shouldn’t be nice to me. You should forget about it, go back to the party and let me just, like, cry myself sober in here.”
“Well, the probability of that is zero, but you go ahead,” Ruby says. She dips her head, hooks her chin, gentle, over Weiss’s shoulder. “I’ll have tissues when you’re done.”
“Are you mad at me?” Weiss says, small.
Ruby’s weight bullies into her, her hands drop to Weiss’s stomach, stroke gentle over the near-sheer fabric. “I’m so fucking mad at you.” Weiss’s breath catches. “But we aren’t going to solve anything tonight. And this weekend is about Blake and Yang, it’s not about us.”
Weiss turns in her arms. Ruby doesn’t move, just stands facing her, toe-to-toe. Weiss thinks she had forgotten what it felt like to be looked at.
She feels flushed and caught, the center of someone’s entire attention, the pressure of Ruby’s gaze more familiar than almost anything else on earth. They’ve spent nearly a decade watching each other, protecting each other, and when Ruby leans in, slants her mouth against hers, Weiss kisses back like it’s the first time she’s been seen in months.
Maybe it is.
It’s a careful kiss, chaste, brief. More habit than anything, a careful, telling comfort. Ruby pulls away, runs a thumb under Weiss’s eye, cleaning up running makeup, brushing her bangs out of her face.
“What now?” Weiss breaths. She turns her face into Ruby’s hand, presses a careful kiss to her palm.
Ruby’s eyes are steady and gray, clear, like she’s wide-awake.
“We leave the bathroom, we apologize to the poor people behind us in line, and we follow your ridiculous itinerary.” She pauses to laugh. “I mean God, it’s more detailed than most of my battle plans.”
Weiss laughs, too. Heaves a shaky breath. Takes a step back. She knows enough to give Ruby her space, knows the conversation is long from over. “And later we’ll talk?”
“Yeah, Weiss,” Ruby reaches for the door, unlocks it with her thumb, and starts to turns the knob, “later we’ll talk.”
Weiss follows her out, slipping back into the half-dark of the club, the damp roil of the crowd, the strobing lights. She knows that somewhere on the dance floor, Yang and Blake are waiting for them.
Snaking through the packed bar, trying not to trip on empty plastic cups or wayward, thrashing limbs, she almost misses it – Ruby reaching back, a hand held out for her to take.

RWBY V8 E7 Thoughts
-Getting LOTR flashbacks -Um....Ironwood...James. You uh....do remember Mt. Glenn right? -Elm, dude. Why would they lie to you about this? -Fuck, Penny is going in that thing to blow it up, ain’t she? -Salem, for once...STOP BEING CREEPY! -Yeah I’d be pseudo shitting myself too Emerald. -She’s scared of the Seer Grimm huh? -... Huh, we’ve...never actually seen what Salem told her underlings...have we? -Gotta say, seeing a woman you kill over and over again keep coming back no matter what you do...it would break a person. -I really don’t like how things get told to the audience. But personal experience has taught me that even this isn’t enough to get through people’s thick skulls. -Still love ya, Ozpin. -Oh Nora... -I’d worry about them too, Blake. -Guys you better not be wussing out now of all times. -I dunno, Silver Eyes and good ol’ fashion suicide bomb? -Mary...fucking hell, you have no tact. - Mary...you’re doing the same fucking shit Ironwood did. You REALLY think that your principles can just...change to suite yourself? -I fucking know Blake! She’s being a hypocritical bitch! - No...no Ruby, there are sides. I understand your point but when you drew that philosophical line, you say ‘I cannot co-operate’ and make your own side. -Hi, Whitely! -Oh ho ho, Great job you brilliant farm boy! You knew Hazel wouldn’t listen to Ozpin or his methods so you just give the info and let Hazel come to his own conclusion! -...Yeah, why would Mercury give a shit about all that? Nothing about him hints at anything beyond self preservation and it makes sense since he grew up in such a terrible situation. Why try making a move against someone who can’t be beat and might not even change anything? -God damn fucking Tyrian. His scenes give me the chills. -Ordinary joes ruling this episode I see! - It actually makes sense that Ren would speak up to that. After all, his dad taught him to act and help others even if it seems hopeless and that’s how he got Nora, a lifelong companion. -Also Harriet makes sense. After all, soldiers would lose each other on the front lines all the time, they can’t get hung up on loss or else they’d never accomplish anything. - .... ‘No one can be replaced’. That...had to hurt, Neath. -...*sigh* Conflicted is the epitome of my feelings about Ren’s part here. For reasons beyond even the show. I’ll talk about THAT latter. -Mary stop being another Ironwood- I do NOT sympathize with you AT ALL so i will call out your ass. -Klein....you sweet sweet man... -Whitely...you are not your father. -...You just had to end there huh, CRWBY? -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So about the Ren thing.
In the episode, we see from Ren’s point of view that he can spot what people are feeling. This kind of comes out of nowhere and wasn’t foreshadowed properly (my guess for the reasoning is that since Ren’s Semblance involves emotions, the writers think that it makes sense he can spot them too).
I have a noted dislike for when RWBY does this kind of stuff. I hate it when the show spells out what is going on, treating the audience like idiots as if we can’t pick up on the rather UNSUBTLE clues they leave.
...During this time, I did look up some of the negative reactions to the episode. I do this because I want to question what I think and try and see if I can find a flaw I normally wouldn’t see. That’s a big part of criticism for me. Instead I watched someone call Ren’s moment a ‘Deus Ex Machina’ (his moment here solves NOTHING), claim that Weiss only hugged her brother because ‘he proved his usefulness’ and act like this one moment was the only hint that Marrow and the other Ace Ops wouldn’t be complete bad guys (I don’t even need to SAY the number of hints the writers gave BEFORE this).
Believe it or not (I do not care), I don’t just dismiss any and all negative criticism. I’m actually far more dismissive of positive feedback (hence why I never feel the need to speak up). I only get dismissive when I see no attempt at understanding what the intention of the creator is. Because that intention defines the quality and standards of the media. As it should, since it means it helps the creator and allows any kind of story to be made. Thus dismissing it is tantamount to saying that things should only follow what YOU like, instead of what is best for the creator.
It’d love to say that I don’t understand this scene or that it’s wrong to do this moment. But time after time after time after time after time again I repeatedly see criticism that is so ignorant of what the creators’ likely intend that it’d be insanity to assume stupidity and thus I assume malice. So what I see here is not bad writing, treating your audience like idiots: what i see is treating your audience EXACTLY as they present themselves, being as blatant as possible to ensure there is NO room for faking ignorance. And I can’t even blame them because I’ve seen it happen COUNTLESS times.
So I hate this moment...but I can’t condemn it because the people who call themselves critics set this with the creators: ‘We’re either idiots and need everything spoonfed to us like babies or assholes misinterpreting you for own desires.’ And this is a perfectly reasonable response to that.

The adorkable blonde
Okay, i'll try to sum up the next stories cause this took me literally HOURS to make, and if i do the same for every single one of them i'll fucking die.
Title: The adorkable blonde.
Pairing: Jaune x Yang (Dragonslayer)
Status: abandoned.
Chapters wrote: 2
Total words so far: 10,170
Story:
I planned this story to be pretty simple and straightforward, it's set in a real life AU and it starts with yang being asked out by cardin, which she obviously refused.
Cardin was the captain of the football team and wasn't used to being denied by girls, unfortunately for him yang wasn't just any girl, and when he tried to get 'touchy' with her yang landed a direct punch on his stomach and walked away.
Yang wasn't just any girl, she was the leader of the boxing club, she could take down anyone be it boy or girl, she was the champion of the vytal boxing tournament last year, and would be this year as well if she didn't gave up from this year's tournament.
You see, the tournament she attended was on the same day as the ball of beacon, and because of it she lost the ball last year, but this year she intended to go to the ball with a very special someone. Said someone who just came in with her sister to greet her.
Jaune greeted yang along with ruby, there it was, the only guy who ever made her heart skip a beat, the only guy on this school she wanted to go to the ball with.
Ruby asked why did she leave so early and yang told her that she needed to talk with ozpin about dropping the boxing tournament, ruby asked why did she decided to drop the tournament and she explained that she wanted to attend the ball this year, she asked if yang already had a pair and yang told her that no, because she wasn't going to give up on the tournament just to go with a random guy who isn't going to take his eyes out of her babies, and she held her chest to emphasize her point.
Jaune instantly blushed and looked away making her grin and think about how cute he looks when blushing, she asked if he saw something he liked and before he could answer the gods saved him with the sound if a school bell ringing.
Jaune instantly says that he needs to leave for class before he gets late and vanishes in a split second leaving the girls back.
Ruby sighs and gives yang a disappointed look, and when the older girl asks about it ruby replies telling her that she's never going to go out with jaune if she keep pushing him away like that.
Yang felt a heat crawl up her face and tried to deny it, ruby said that they lived under the same roof their whole life and he knew about her crush on jaune, yang would try to deny again but blake suddenly came in and said that yang already passed the level of crush and was more head over heels for him, which ruby agreed while yang gave her a betraied look.
Blake deadpanned and told her to not give her that look, since everyone of their group knew about her crush on jaune except, obviously, jaune himself.
Yang tried to deny it but weiss joined them and when she asked what they were talking about and blake told what was the subject, she gave yang a tired loom and asked why didn't she confessed to him already.
Yang once again said that she didn't liked him like that and that even if she did liked, which she doesn't, it wouldn't matter because he and pyrrha are probably dating.
Blake reminded her that they didn't knew it for sure even though it was pretty obvious.
Pyrrha had feelings for jaune for all of the first year and nowadays they were always together, they sat next to each other in class and were always talking about stuff, pyrrha seemed to be a lot happier and didn't had more trouble to be around jaune, it was pretty obvious that there was something going on between them.
Weiss told her she wouldn't know if she didn't asked or tried to get closer but yang shrugged it off saying it was time for them to go to class.
During class yang had to suppress her jealousy feelings, not that she was jealous of anything, but there were some really ugly feelings wanting to leave.
At the moment pyrrha was sat very close to jaune, both of them smiling while making the exercices oobleck gave them.
Blake noticed how yang's expression was dark at the moment, she called her and asked what was going on, and with the fakest smile possible she replied that there was nothing wrong, blake told her she knew she was jealous and, unsurprisingly, yang denied, blake insisted and reminded her that they know each other since kindergarten and that yang always had her back, that at least once blake wanted to have hers.
She threw a few more arguments in and yang finally gave in, saying she had no idea what to do, she wanted to be closer to jaune but every time she tried to get closer she would get nervous and her yangstincts would kick in, making her tease him in some way, leaving him embarrassed and making him go away, and if that wasn't enough there was still pyrrha who yang was pretty sure was already dating jaune, so yeah, her options where pretty short.
Blake was happy that she finally opened up about it to her and told her they could talk about that later on her home, yang asked why and doctor oobleck intervene saying that it was because his class was for studying and not talking.
A few hours later and she's already leaving with ruby who asked if blake was going to sleep on their place, yang nodded and ruby hummed happily, telling yang that she was happy that she finally opened up about jaune, yang blushed and ruby answered the question before she could even ask, telling that she heard her and blake talking in class and she even called weiss to sleep over so all of them could make a plan for yang to get jaune's attention.
Yang didn't knew if she should kill or kiss her little sister, but she ran out of time to decide when qrow came in with summer after him, ruby instantly latched on her dad before he spoke a bit with yang, if qrow was home that meant her mother was home too, they talked a bit and qrow told her that she would need to borrow ruby till later, yang didn't had problems with that and so ruby leaved with qrow and summer, leaving back to go home alone.
At least that's what she thought, cause soon enough jaune came out of the school and joined her, he asked if she wouldn't mind him joining her on their way back, yang asked if he wasn't going to wait for pyrrha and he said that she's too busy with club stuff, and since his club dispensed him earlier he was already going back home.
Yang winced a bit, she knew neither jaune or pyrrha were at any clubs right now, perks of being the leader of a club herself and knowing most of the peoples in this school, she knew that jaune and pyrrha sneaked around the school every day while saying they had club stuff to do...honestly, why did she even bothered at this point, it was more than obvious that he and pyrrha were going out.
Yang accepted the company anyways and they started to walk back home, yang tried to break the awkward silence asking if he was quiet like that all the time or if he was just nervous of being around a cute girl like her, jaune blushed at that while yang mentally scolded herself.
Jaune told her that he was just nervous because its been awhile since they talked like that, just the two of them.
And he was right, yang asked about his family and he asked about hers, they talked a bit about her mother being back home and how tai must be happy like a puppy now that she's back. They managed to pull off a nice conversation, but after it ended there was only awkward silence again.
Yang was thinking about how could she pull another nice conversation like that, and asked about the ball, wincing right after because that was the first thing that came to her head. He replied saying that he had no one to go with and chuckled sadly asking who would even want to go to the ball with someone like him.
Yang ignored her mental screaming and asked who wouldn't want to go to the ball with him, he replied instantly asking if she would go with someone like him, she froze in her place, stunned and not knowing what to do, but in the meantime jaune sighed and started to walk again saying that it was just like that.
Yang catched up with him and tried to say that she would love to go to the ball with someone like him, jaune scoffed saying she could go with whatever boy she wanted, why would she want to go with him of all people?
'Because i love you dumbass!!'
She replied nervously, telling him that she just thinks it would be nice to go with him, jaune lokmed away and sighed, telling it was nice to talk but her needed to go now.
Yang was so distracted by the talk she didn't realized she was already home, jaune was her neighbor so if he came to his stop she came as well, and she walked into her home feeling like she just messed up her chance.
She walked in and greeted her mom who was cleaning her gun, raven noticed yang's long face and asked what was wrong with her, yang hesitated a bit but eventually spoke up, and asked how did she and her dad started dating.
Raven at first didn't got the question but yang explained that it would probably help her with a problem, raven sighed and told her the full story, about how she hated her dad at the start but eventually warmed up to him, to the point even just seeing his face would leave her flustered.
Yang chuckled imagined a flustered and embarrassed version of her mother, and by the end of the long story, raven had a small smile on her face, recalling how that goofball of taiyang managed to steal her heart, and out of nowhere tai popped up hugging raven from behind, raven headbutted him and told him to stop acting like an idiot.
Yang couldn't help but chuckle at her parent's antics, and she was feeling better after the story, so she thanked her mother and walked up to her room.
Later on, the room echoed with a loud "WHAT!?"
Blake, weiss and ruby were simply incredulous with the fact that jaune asked yang to the ball and she simply froze.
Yang reminded them that he just asked if she would like to go to the ball with someone...like him.
And once more they shouted, saying that it was the same thing and that she should have told him that she wanted to go with him.
Yang started to ramble, saying she knew that she messed up and that she shouldn't even bother anymore cause he already has pyrrha and she wasn't perfect like her.
Her friends and sister reminded her that she was just as perfect as pyrrha, and if she managed to control herself she wouldn't have problems to ask jaune to the ball.
Feeling the ego boost she just got from her friend yang stood up and declared that she would never let herself be dominated by. . .the. . .nervousness. . . .again. . . .
The girls just stared as yang started to talks slower and slower until she froze and started to drool with a hungry look. They got up and turned to where she was looking and found out the reason of why did she froze like that.
What yang was staring at was her window, but more importantly, what was on the other side of the window. They could all see through the window a shirtless jaune that apparently just came out of the bath with a towel wrapped on his waist, he picked up his phone on the table and walked away, and for that small moment yang could swear she saw the heaven of abs pectorals, jaune was a lot more defined than he let on.
All the girls had blushes on their faces and blake had to admit that jaune is hot, yang let herself fall face first on the pillow and screamed something between a curse and a plea, they had no idea what it was though since it was very muffled, when she finally stopped screaming she started to panic, she was already nervous before, how is she supposed to look at him now without remembering THAT.
Once again she started to mop about her low chances against pyrrha, but her friends didn't let her go far and promised they would find a way, and so they spent a good chunk of the night making plans that in the end didn't take her anywhere.
Later, when everyone was asleep, yang got up from her bed and decided to take a breather, she was really thankful that her friends were so excited about helping her but it did made her feel a bit. . .overwhelmed. so she left the room and leaved the house, sitting on the swing on her backyard.
That was her thinking place, where she came to sort things out, it was the place where she started to remember the good old times with she, jaune and ruby running on the courtyard, she remembered ruby trying to run after them and tripping half way through and how jaune cried while trying to help her, she always loved how caring he was with both her and her sister, but that's just how jaune was, he was kind to everyone.
"Yeah. . .everyone. . ."
Before she could go further into her thoughts she heard a voice calling her, she loomed over to the fence and jaune was standing there, asking if everything was alright, which she faked a nod and told him everything was okay
Jaune didn't buy the excuse and opened the door their parents made years before on the fence, walking into her backyard and sitting on the swing next to her.
She asked what was he doing up so late and he said he couldn't sleep and said cookies usually help him, he then offered some freshly baked vanilla cookies to her, they were her favorites.
Jaune asked what was wrong and she blushed a bit remembering of earlier, she told him she was okay, he didn't loomed like he bought the excuse but at least he stood silent and just offered some more cookies, she picked some more and ate, after that it was just silence.
Out of nowhere, yang thanked him. Jaune said it was no problem and it was just cookies, she said she wasn't thanking for the cookies and she knew what he was doing, jaune was silent for a moment as she continued, she said that wasn't the first time he does that, she leaves her home and sits down on the swing and then out of nowhere he pops up with some cookies and a willing ear to help her, hell he doesn't even like vanilla cookies, but he makes them anyways just because she likes them.
Yang thanked him for being her friend, she kinda accepted the fact that she would never be more like that and despite it hurting, it was better that way. She said she was very thankful of having someone nice like him as her friend.
Jaune replied saying he was just returning the favor, he told her how he was like a human repellent when younger and how his family were his only friends, that was until he moved and met yang, it was thanks to her that he made so many friends and it's because of her that he never gave up on anything he did, because he really admired her, and so that's why he was thanking her.
There was a moment of silence where the two of them had gazes locked, yang unconsciously started to approach him, she tried to say something but because she was leaning on a swing of all things, she accidentally lost balance and feel down, jaune tried to hold her but that only made him fall along with her.
When yang realized she was on the ground and on top of jaune, they both broke into chuckles at the disaster they basically were, and slowly, the chuckles started to fade and only silence remained, and their faces stood just a few centimeters apart.
Yang unconsciously started to lean closer to jaune, until her lips finally touched his, resulting on a mind blowing kiss, jaune froze for a second, but wrapped his hands on her waist and reciprocated the kiss right after, both of them placing as much emotion on the kiss at it was possible, yang's hands trailed up to his face and ended on his silky golden locks, the kiss started to get deeper and deeper, to the point their tongues were battling for dominance over the kiss, they were lost in a bliss, like they were on their world, but just like good things, their oxygen couldn't last forever and soon they had to break the kiss to get a much needed breath.
When yang got to breathe and her brain started to work, she realized her own position and panicked, she got up and screamed an apology before she ran back into her home.
On the next day things got really awkward for them, their friends tried to ask what was wrong with them but they both shrugged it off saying it was nothing.
But it was obvious that something was wrong, both yang and jaune had bags under their eyes and were avoiding each other like the plague, but no matter how much their friends asked they wouldn't give an answer.
After a long and awkward day, when classes were over, yang left the classroom and bumped on pyrrha who asmed what was wrong with her, yang still felt guilty for kissing jaune like that so she asked if pyrrha and her could talk alone, pyrrha didn't minded and so she followed yang to a more private place.
Once they were both on the rooftop pyrrha asked again what was the problem, yang sat down and held her legs against her chest, feeling a lump on her throat. Pyrrha sat down next to her and patiently waited for an answer.
When yang finally managed to gather enough courage, she started speaking, and said she was sorry. Pyrrha rose an eyebrow and asked why was she sorry, yang explained everything to her, about how she loved jaune and had kissed him on the day before, and then just stood silent waiting for pyrrha to lash her anger on her.
But against her expectations, pyrrha beamed in happiness and asked how it was, yang was confused and asked why wasn't she angry, pyrrha then also got confused and asked why would she be angry, yang told her she knew pyrrha and jaune were dating and pyrrha burst into chuckles, yang asked what was so funny and pyrrha told her they weren't dating. Yang proceeded to ramble about her crush on him, the time they spent together, how close they were and she knew that she and jaune were lying about having clubs just to have time for themselves.
It was all true, pyrrha was really close to him and she did have a crush on him during most of the first year, but right now she saw him as more of a close friend or even a brother than a romantic interest, yang asked what they did on the free time after school just the two of them, pyrrha giggled and said that if she wanted to know she would need to ask jaune himself.
That just added more fuel to the fire of yang's curiosity.
Pyrrha said she was very happy that she kissed jaune, all of their friends were already in a relationship already and only jaune and yang were still running in circles, yang blushed a bit asking if they were that bad and pyrrha sheepishly nodded, she said that ren and nora were dating for years now, blake had sun and ruby had weiss...even pyrrha was dating someone.
Yang perked at her in curiosity and asked who was the lucky guy, pyrrha fidgeted a bit as her cheeks reddened, and told her the guy in question was vergil, yang was in pure shock because she was pretty sure that cold ass guy would rather kill himself then get involved with anyone.
After a few minutes of pyrrha explaining how that happened and some teasing from yang, they got back to the main topic, and upon processing everything yang ang slumped, all this time she was getting so worked up for nothing, they weren't dating, and because she thought they were she wasted an amazing chance on the day before.
Pyrrha said to cheer up because it wasn't over yet, and that she could still make things right, yang asked how she was so certain that yang could do that, she was pretty sure jaune was angry with her at the moment, pyrrha said that jaune being angry with her was impossible, and when yang asked why pyrrha gave her a reply.
--
"because he loves you." yang's eyes widened as her face reddened, pyrrha's eyes widened as well as she covered her mouth, just now noticing what she just spilled. "oh god! oh my god i'm sorry! i wasn't supposed to tell you that!"
--
After that yang passed out, leaving a panicking pyrrha behind.
And that's all i wrote so far.
After that we would see jaune talking about his problem with a friend, they both setting things right, going to the ball and that's what i think it would end on.
Planned scenes:
1- a scene where yang gets into a fight, probably with cardin and jaune helps her to beat him and his friends, yang asks how did jaune knows how to fight so well and he admits that he's been taking private classes with pyrrha (who is the leader of the martial arts club) and that's why he's been staying on school after classes are over.
Yang asked why did he never told her that and jaune said he was embarrassed, because he was training to protect her, he knew yang was strong but he couldn't help but think that one day she might get hurt because of him, when they were younger yang helped him to deal with the bullies and got hurt because of that, and that's why jaune was training in secret with pyrrha, so one day if yang got in trouble, he could protect her like she protected him so many times, the result of this declaration is a very emotional yang pulling jaune into a heated kiss that soon developed into a make out session.
Fun facts:
1- From all the stories i have, this is probably the closest to being complete, but even so i still can't bring myself to finish it, and even if i did finished it, i would need to rewrite everything since the story is very old and has a lot of grammar problems.
2- Yes, the vergil dating pyrrha is the same vergil from dmc3 (cause i think at that point he was around her age) the reason he's paired with her here is because i already paired them before and liked the result, so i used here again.
How that first happened? Long story short, i had another story and made an OC called dante (no, despite the name he has nothing to do with dmc dante) i wanted to give him a brother but was too lazy to make another OC and since the story had a few things to do with demons (like most of my stories) i said "fuck it, i'll put vergil here until i make a new OC to be dante's brother."
Ironically enough, a few months later i gave dante a little sister and erased vergil from my next stories, but the dynamic i built for him and pyrrha in some of my older stories was really fun so i still used it a few times, just like in this story.

Loyalty - Chapter 1 Commentary
@slightlycrackedteapot replied to your post: Would anyone be opposed to me rambling on about...
Re-read of early fics and comment on what you might’ve done differently if they were written now?
Oh. My. God.
Here we go, y’all.
---
"AGAIN?" Yang groaned, tossing her scroll down in frustration and rolling off her bed. "Stupid game's rigged."
"Which level were you on?" Ruby spared her older sister a glance.
Yang stretched, arms above her head as she feigned disinterest. "Oh, twenty-seven I think."
Silver eyes widened slightly as the girl ducked her head, still tapping furiously at the game. "Oh. Okay."
The shift in tone was obvious, even to Weiss, so there was no doubt Yang caught on, especially when lilac eyes narrowed in suspicion. "Why? What level are you on?"
"Um, I dunno?" Her shoulders hunched up higher.
"Oh, yes you do!" Yang clambered up, reaching for Ruby's scroll while the girl flailed to keep it away.
...
"Yang, you're being loud." Blake's voice was relatively soft, but it still brought the blonde to an absolute standstill.
"Oh. Sorry, you two."
Ruby rolled her eyes and sighed. "You're literally shoving my head into the mattress and you're apologizing to them?"
"You're family. You don't count," the blonde replied with a grin, ruffling her little sister's hair before returning her scroll.
---
Oh, wow, I forgot how much fun it was writing Yang and Ruby as siblings instead of, ya know, allies. That they’re goofy and messing with each other is great.
---
"Ah, Ruby, there you are!" Captain Port's voice boomed over the connection as Ruby answered. "I realized your team is scheduled for the next thirty six hours off, but, well, something of a peculiar situation has arisen and we require a team to deploy on mission. Can your be ready in, say, the next hour?"
By the time Ruby looked up to scan the room, Weiss was already moving towards her locker, scroll stowed for the time being, while Yang let out a joyful whoop at the prospect of some action.
"Uh, yeah, I think we can do that."
"Splendid! Meet me in Briefing Room Twelve as soon as possible. We must move quickly on this, ladies."
---
From the very beginning, I’ve been roasting the military. Let no one ever say otherwise. ‘Yeah, I know the schedule says you’ve got time off, but fuck that, because we suck at planning.’ Also, why do you idiots need 12 briefing rooms, you fucking morons, your space management is terrible.
---
"Did you need some?" Weiss offered, holding out a few containers of various colors. Making an effort to be somewhat social was practically a requirement imposed by Ruby and Yang, though she found dealing with their quieter teammate moderately easier. If it wasn't for that niggling feeling that something was off, she might even seek out Blake's company more often than she did. Something about the woman just... piqued her interest a bit.
Amber eyes flicked from the capsules to her face before they fell somewhere in between, followed by a nod. "Thank you."
Another successful interaction; she was getting the hang of this. A small smile claimed her lips as she focused once more on her own gear, grabbing Myrtenaster and checking to ensure the chambers were full. Shutting the locker and slinging the white pack over her shoulder, Weiss turned to survey the readiness of the rest of her team. Yang was buzzing with energy, clenching and unclenching her fists while an outright vicious smirk claimed her lips. Ruby on the other hand, was locking Crescent Rose in place behind her back, her youth suddenly hidden by a serious demeanor.
---
Oh, hey, look, my original depiction of Weiss’ character! The old Ice Queen has evolved into a Hug Monster. Perfection.
---
"Yeah, um, a... personnel transfer record form?" Ruby scowled at her scroll as they walked, furrowing her brows.
"Oh, a 26D-578." She pulled her own scroll out, pulling up the form. "Did they specify which version? I would assume 26D-578B."
---
Really sad Weiss didn’t end up being the brand of perfectionist that relishes paperwork. Would’ve been hysterical.
---
"Speak for yourself." Yang pouted. "I don't know why they don't reopen the Hunter's Club."
"Probably because you're still here and they can only afford so many repairs," Ruby replied.
"I told Junior I was sorry! What more does he want?"
Their raven haired teammate offered a small smirk. "Yang, you threw him through a window after sliding him down the full length of the bar. A simple 'I'm sorry' is a bit... insufficient."
"Fine, I'll buy him flowers when I get back." Yang sighed, scratching at her chin. "And chocolates. Guys like chocolate, right?"
"And long walks on the beach," Blake said.
"And a ring." Weiss offered, glancing away from her scroll to gauge their reaction.
Almost instantly, Yang shrunk in on herself, shivering slightly. "Thanks, guys, thanks. I just got the mental picture of me proposing to Junior on the beach. Thank you for the nightmare fuel."
---
Oh my god, I don’t write humor like this anymore, I need to get back to it, this is fantastic.
---
"No." She squared her shoulders. "I once had twenty-five cousins, seven uncles, six aunts, my parents, and my sister. Only my father, my sister, and myself remain. Lost mines are the least of my grievances." She could feel the long buried anger rising within her and tried her best to shove it down, far down, locked back away like it usually was. "Is this really the time to discuss this?"
---
Ah, old Schnee family headcanons, how I’ve missed you.

"No, Blake, I didn't spend the past two years going through rigorous training just so I could occasionally be sent out and enact a vendetta against the White Fang. If I was so inclined, I would've hired mercenaries, outfitted them with the best equipment available, and launched my own personal campaign of genocide, like my father did." She stepped forward until she was nose to nose with the taller girl, ice blue eyes glaring into unwavering amber. "I'm not my father and I refuse to inherit his sins. The next time you'd like to imply as much, keep it to yourself." She turned, ready to be done with the subject altogether, but felt one more thing needed to be said. "Oh, and for the record, I don't hate the Faunus. The White Fang are monsters- murderers and thieves entirely- but if such a thing as an innocent soul exists among their people, I'd have no quarrel with them." She started walking away. "Not that I expect to ever meet one."
---
Ah. Fuck. Forgot I unintentionally reworked Weiss’ racism from V1. This whole thing was written before I watched the show, so hopefully I’m forgiven, but... yeah... that sure is a thing I did...

Silence in Atlas (15/?)
Once more, this is a dark take on Volume 7 from a Bumbleby standpoint. It has scenes of graphic violence. If there are any specific trigger warnings I will specify it.
I DID IT, GUYS! I’m kinda proud of myself for finishing this jajajaja. Like I said I never upload unless I have finished the FOLLOWING chapter so I had to finish ch16 to publish this one and I pulled and all nighter (it that how it is written?) :P I’ll try to keep uploading at a good pace. My life is kinda cramped and busy right now but there is always time for Bumbleby. Always. NOW ONTO THE CHAPTER!
-------------
Blake looked so small lying in her hospital bed. Her eyes were tightly closed and her face spoke of pain. She had bandages on her neck and her wrists. The rest of her body was covered by white hospital bed sheets. She was bruised all over. There were wires coming out of her like roots, connecting her to several medical machines that kept track of her vital signs. The beeping sound of the heart monitor was steady and it gave Yang a sense of peace. Blake was alive.
“We’ll keep her asleep for a couple of days” the doctor said as they walked inside the room. With all of them there it was kinda crowded but he didn’t mind. He’d never had a case like this so regular protocols were pretty much out the window. “It will allow her aura to recuperate and help with the healing”.
They all stared in silence. The sight was heartbreaking. None of them could believe that actually was their friend and teammate. It wasn’t fair. Blake was strong and brave and kind and it made no sense that somebody would do something like this to her. After everything they had gone through, after all the people they had helped this was how Atlas had repaid them.
Thanks for trying to save the world, here’s your broken friend.
Weiss stared at the bed, her eyes wide open in disbelief. She had tried to imagine how Blake would look when they found her, she tried to be ready. She wasn’t. There was nothing that could prepare her for all the thoughts that were racing through her mind. Every single wound and bruise in Blake’s body had been caused by someone on purpose. Someone that thought it was okay to do so. She had been tortured horribly just for being a faunus. What had she gone through? What had she seen?
This was sick.
“Oh, Blake, I’m so sorry” Weiss said, her voice breaking the silence. She took a hand to her mouth and felt her body shake. It didn’t take long for tears to appear. How could this have happened to her friend? The former heiress could not stop thinking about how her family’s heritage was built on the exploitation of the faunus. How many others had gone through this? How many others were never rescued? Ruby hugged her and she let herself break down. The silver eyed girl wanted to cry too, but she had to remain strong for her team. For her friend. For her sister. She looked at the bed and couldn’t help but to wonder if things would ever go back to normal.
Would Blake ever be the same?
No one said anything else. The only sound in the room, besides the machines, were Weiss’ cries. Jaune looked down, feeling useless after failing to help the faunus with his semblance. Nora held onto Ren as she closed her eyes, not wanting to see what was in front of her. He looked up, tears pooling in the corners of his eyes. Oscar didn’t even enter the room, the sight from outside was too much for him. Qrow just wanted a drink to forget for a second all of this had actually happened.
Yang walked towards the bed, pulled up a chair and sat down. This was going to be her place from now on. Until Blake was healed she was going to stay next to her. Whatever it took to bring her back from the darkness. She had rescued her from the mine but she knew right then and there that was just the beginning. She took one of the faunus’ hands in hers and closed her eyes. Blake was here. Blake was alive and that would have to be enough for now.
---------
Yang paced around the room while the scroll made the call. What was she going to say? How could she put into words what had happened? A part of her wanted it to go to voicemail. It would be easier. She could just tell them and be done with it. Have someone else answer if they called back. That would be great, then she wouldn’t have to hear their voices when she broke their hearts. Why were communications being restored just now? She wished silently they would go down again before the call connected.
“Hello” a female voice answered. This was it. Deep breath. No turning back.
“Hi, is this Kali Belladonna?” she asked. Of course it was her. This was her number. How much of an idiot was she?
“Yes, it’s me” the woman answered . She sounded so nice, so happy. How could she be doing this to her?
“Hey, I’m Yang. I’m Blake’s... teammate” she said, choosing no to call her “girlfriend”. That was a complete different talk they would have later. That is if they ever wanted to talk to her again. Back at Mistral she met them very briefly, but she had imagined having a very good relationship with them. She imagined Blake officially introducing her as her as her girlfriend, both of her parents smiling at her, feeling happy they had found each other in the midst of this war. Now that scenario was gone. There was no way it would happen after what she was about to do.
“Oh, hi, dear” Kali replied. “Is everything okay with Blake?” she asked, her voice taking a concerned tone.
“Could you call your husband, please?” her voice started to break.
“What happened?” she asked again, a crack in her voice.
“Please, I need to tell you both” Yang replied, trying her best no to give away how serious her message was. She failed.
“What’s the matter? What’s happened to my daughter?” the woman said, her voice now clearly altered. When the girl didn’t reply she yelled at her husband. “Ghira!” she called. “Come here, dear!”. Yang felt like choking on her tongue. There was no running away from this. She was going to tell them the truth. She could hear Blake’s dad getting close.
“What is the matter?” the man asked.
“Blake’s teammate is on the phone...Something happened to her” Kali replied. There was a brief  silence before Ghira reacted.
“WHAT?!” he exclaimed. “Is she all right?”. Deep breath. Speak. Say something. Anything.
“She is out of danger now but… A couple of days after arriving to Atlas, Blake was walking back to the place we are staying in and she…” Yang’s hand started shaking. Just say it. Get it over with. It’s not gonna get any easier. Deep breath. “She was kidnaped. I don’t know if you are familiar with The Traders. They are a group that…”
“THE TRADERS?!” Ghira’s voice interrupted her. “No… Not my Blake. Please. No”
“What’s going on? Who are this people?” Kali asked, clearly not as aware as her husband about the situation.
“What did they do to her?” he asked. Yang wanted to die. She wanted to disappear. She should have walked back home with her.
“They… They tortured her. They cut her vocal chords and sold her into slavery down in the mines. I was able to get her out but it took eight days to find her and…” she started crying. There was no going back. “I’m sorry. I am so sorry. She’s in the hospital now. She’s getting better but… I just… I’m sorry”
“How could this happen?” Kali said, her voice trembling. “Not my baby, please”.
“We are flying to Atlas right now” Ghira said. Yang knew this would happen and she was afraid of what his reaction would be when she told him they couldn’t.
“I don’t think that will be possible for now. Atlas is in lockdown. Nobody enters. Nobody leaves” she explained. Kali’s cries were the first thing she heard when she stopped talking.
“We’ll find a way” Blake’s father said. “I can’t believe this. How could you all let that happen to her?” there was so much anger in his voice. Yang felt like shit. She wanted Ghira to punch her in the face. She deserved it. How could she let this happen to Blake? If she hadn’t been such a hothead maybe all of this wouldn’t have happened. If she had listened to her and hadn’t lashed out at those racist idiots they wouldn’t have had that fucking argument. Now all she could do was say she was sorry.
“Is she awake?” Kali said, her voice weak.
“Not right now” the blonde replied. “They’ve given her a lot of meds for the pain. They say she needs to sleep a lot so her aura can heal her better. She’s being treated by the best doctors here”.
“Could you call us when she wakes up?” the woman asked.
“I will”
“Okay” Ghira said before finishing the call. Yang remained still, the scroll still pressed against her ear. It was done. Blake’s parents knew what had happened and there was no turning back. She tried to imagine how they felt, knowing their daughter had gone through hell. They had just gotten her back after everything with the White Fang and Adam and now... Yang placed the scroll back in her pocket and sat down on the couch. Deep breath. She covered her face with her hands and tried to control herself from breaking down.
Why did she choose to do this herself?

‘AFTER THE FALL’ - LIVEREAD III
The more I hear about the latter half of this book, the more depresso espresso I’m drinking. Let’s see how it goes, huh?
(Since there’s more chapters in the latter half than the first half, short chapters will probably get combined together for the sake of. I’m lazy.)
CHAPTERS EIGHT AND NINE
I love that Velvet’s the one who enlisted Weiss and Yang, expecting shit to go sideways. She saw these two gays on main and went ‘they look like they can party’. Was she wrong? No. Did she invite Cinder for the express purpose of drama? Yes. Can you make me stop shipping Sinnamon Bun? Also no.
Okay, this book has read my mine though!!! Ruby pitches a Beacon Battle Club where they play music as they fight, and no word of a fucking lie, that happens in Great Weiss Shark AU! I am not kidding! I had this whole story planned out! This is theft of the HIGHEST order.
“Doilies are absurd and elitist,” Yang said.
This is simultaneously the least Yang-like line and also the most Yang-like line I’ve ever heard. The duality of idiot, I suppose.
I like Fox! I really do, actually! He’s my son now. Although, the bad news is I dunno if I can replicate him in The Frapp Logs, so he’ll just have to keep dragging Coco to the ends of the earth. Same thing, right? R-right?
“Leaders can’t be the comic relief.” Fox raised his eyebrows. “Jaune.”
Is this the second time Jaune’s been dragged? I’m living for it. Also, sleepy Blake! And CFVY knowing she’s (they’re) a Faunus! And the second book behind a book! I love you, Blake.
Velvet correcting Yatsu’s ‘catnap’ joke! I wrote a ficlet about this exact thing once, so I TOLD you my Velvet’s NEARLY CANON. SHE JUST NEEDS TO EAT MORE PROTEIN IS ALL.
Onto chapter nine. God, these chapters get thinner by the second, huh?
BACK TO THE DESERT WE GO, and there’s... fog? Which is now gone! Wow! Is this a plot device? Foreshadowing? I sure hope so, because why on earth it would warrant a mention we’re just not too sure!
A sandstorm is incoming and hidden tracks are gonna get blasted away. I’m trying to figure out if this is all pathetic fallacy or if I’m reading too much into handy-dandy plot devices. Why not both?
Heart-to-heart with Coco and Yatsu... and we’re back to Yatsu giving Velvet all the hugs. Now that I’m sensing the Velv/Yats vibes, I’m extra suspicious. You stop that. Let Velvet have a fashionable GF at least if you won’t let her kiss Weiss!!!
‘[...] even the women were down to halter tops. Focus, Coco, she thought.’
Ah, lesbian as always. I’m soothed. Carmine enters the tent and Coco gets even gayer. I’m very soothed.
‘What was Jaune doing after losing a member of his team, a friend... someone he clearly cared about.’
I don’t care about what Jaune feels. Why the heck would Coco even care? There’s literally so many more people that impacts than just Jaune, lawd.
CHAPTER TEN AND ELEVEN
Back to Fox, who is honestly the shining star of this book by now. I love you, my blind and sassy son.
I love Ada and the battle mechanic she has! I’m really enjoying how Fox interacts with the world around him and using his Scroll and AI as an accessibility device. It’s neat! I didn’t expect them to go as ham on him as they did, but they did.
“Update,” Ada said. “Weapon has projectile capabilities.” “You mean it’s also a gun.”
Obligatory gun meme.
Combat stuff happens, Fox wins a fight against a confused Edward, and it turns out Gus is the one summoning Grimm and Fox just got jumped, so we slide into another flashback for chapter eleven. Lemme tell ya, this book ain’t afraid of moving fast.
“I guess you slightly oversold your ability to track the survivors,” Coco said.
Again, this is one of those lines that reads as very... callous? Kinda mean? I’ve always had Coco in my head as someone who very broadly puts her team (and their feelings) first, even if it’s rough, so lines like this make me go 🤔
Velvet falls, Yatsu panics, Coco gets up in everyone’s grill. There’s a lot to this dynamic I am not enjoying right now, and even then this seems inconsistent with the CFVY we’ve seen in the book itself. I know the author’s trying to communicate that Coco is tired and frustrated, that I get, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t how... it would really happen given her character? I dunno. ‘S weird.
Was that a fat joke I spotted there? From Coco? I need a nap. Also COCO LET VELVET DO THINGS JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK ME SIDEWAYS!!!!!!!!!!
Coco has claustrophobia! I wrote her as having agoraphobia, so this is a hilarious turn of events. Also Coco has two brothers, not one: Mate and Toma.
Coco is fighting Grimm in a cave with CFVY, but still finds time to criticise Velvet in combat. Hey, maybe if you let her do things, she’d prove you wrong, dingus. And then she does! See!
Aaaaaaaand the six survivors are all dead. This was a pretty traumatic event, all told, which makes it weird that they look... less affected in the show? Still, this chapter was VERY weird for the characterisations because Coco seems especially inconsistent, alas. Anyway, onto:
CHAPTERS TWELVE AND THIRTEEN
The sandstorm is approaching and catching the wagons, which I have just realised are actually vehicles that use fuel. Mostly because that’s the First I Heard Of It.
‘Velvet noticed a pistol tucked in the back before she closed the door.’
Hi, can Chekhov please pick up his gun from aisle twelve? Thanks.
GIANT SAND TURTLE. AVATAR AANG C’MERE Y’ALL GOTTA LEARN HOW TO DEFEAT THE FIRELORD.
“You said it’s big enough to ride on?” Velvet asked.
Maybe this is why Coco dismisses Velvet so often. She only pitches the craziest ideas, which is why I love her. That said, Coco finally lets Velvet do something! It’s a miracle of man! Climb that turtle, bihh!
Yatsu calls Velvet V. I’m so used to Velv that V sounds entirely too cool for this idiot.
Everyone’s pissed again, but-- IS THAT THE SAND WORM THING FROM ARRAKIS?! What A Tweest!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nobody coulda seen THAT coming!!!!!
So let’s go to chapter thirteen, where Fox has had the shit beaten out of him behind a Denny’s. Sound about right.
So what’s-his-name-- Bertilak, whomst from now on shall be called Bert because what sorta water tribe name even is that (wow the ATLA references are on fire today). Anyway, Bert is being paid by someone else to deliver people with Stronk Semblances like summoning Grimm! Gee I Wonder Who That Might Be (I don’t actually know but I’m honestly not going to be surprised either way).
“Yeah, [Bert]’s a real bastard.” “Even I can see that,” Fox sent.
I love it. Fox really has been the highlight of this book for me.
Fox is on the ground and the referee is counting him to ten, so it’s mid-chapter-flashback time! We learn how Fox’s parents died (sinkhole) and how that became his motivation for... going to Beacon? Okay, tenuous link at best, but I’m going with it.
Carmine is full of trouble and Fox is determined to take Bert with ‘em. Let him DIE.
I’m gonna keep going since we’re not four chapters from the end, so:
CHAPTERS FOURTEEN AND FIFTEEN
Flashback time! Again! Only it’s CFVY’s POV of their return to Beacon. I wouldn’t mind this if like. We hadn’t already seen this from RWBY’s perspective in the show? People know this from my tastes in fanfic, but I’m not a huge fan of retellings of canon events, it’s soooooo boooooring. So I’m just gonna grind through this asap.
(I do like that RWBY and CFVY have all these parallels being called to. As they should.)
Okay we’re past the recap and OH LAWD I HEARD OF THIS BIT. Goodwitch is here (I love u Glynda no matter what) but yeah, I’ve heard this part is Big Oof so uh, let’s see this happen go down. Velvet is being requested to see Ozpin so /buckles down.
Velvet’s being questioned alone for the Whole Thing, and team CFVY have burst into the office demanding to know why, and Velvet’s a crying wreck! I’m still very >:I for everyone being overprotective of Velvet, c’mon, but also: Oz, can you please have tact? Just once in your life? Tact? Do you has it?
Anyway, CFVY have reconciled and we turn to chapter fifteen, in which: Yatsu.
Carmine has Gus, everyone’s on the Turtmobile, and shit’s hitting the fan. Yatsu’s going after Gus and Carmine alone, and I’m still waiting on Chekov’s Gun to Chekov its way right into someone’s butt. Unless it’s Chekov’s Red Herring.
Here comes a fight scene! I never have much to say during fight scenes, so, uh, yeah. There’s some real last-minute exposition in places, though, where it really shouldn’t be.
Eey, Carmine is telekinetic! Very powerful and also OP, gotta nerf that shit right down, Edward.
Yatsu’s very nearly defeated, Bert is back, baby, and shit’s getting real. Time for chaaaaaaaaaper sixteeeeeeeeeen.
CHAPTERS SIXTEEN AND SEVENTEEN
Today’s livereading soundtrack is Simple Things by Zero 7. The whole album, I mean. This is a fun little fact to make sure you’re still awake and aware, ‘cause I sure ain’t!
Roy Stallion of BRNZ is presumed dead, along with the whole team, so big RIP to May, who was cute and deserved better. Swear to God if ABRN are dead too I will kill a man. Two men, to be specific.
Velvet admits she never wanted to come to Vacuo, Coco promises they’ll return to reclaim Beacon in future. This reads like a protagonist’s last speech on hope and strength in friendship... and it should, as Coco gets swallowed by a worm! Straight up just down the hatch! This should be a tragic beat, but this is honestly so funny. Coco, pick better ways to die.
Anyway, we’re onto chapter seventeen. I was very kindly given this message:
Tumblr media
And I-- OH HELL YES! HELL YES IT’S A SCHOOL DAY TIMETABLE!!!!!!!!!! THE LORE! THE CLASSES! THE NAMES! THE FACTS! THIS IS THE BEST THING IN THE ENTIRE BOOK SO FAR WHICH REALLY GOES TO SHOW I HAVE NO HOBBIES!
Is this a... flashback? Flash... forward? I’m not sure, actually. Either way, CFVY are in Beacon clearing the place of Grimm. Actually, this must be a flashback to before they went to Vacuo, I suppose, which would make sense to follow Velvet’s little admittance last chapter before Coco got swallowed like a paracetamol tablet.
Velvet waited for someone to ask her what she thought, what she wanted, by no one did.
Now I’m SAD why won’t people be NICE to VELVET just ONCE!!! God, this book really just gives her the short end of the stick every time.
Off go CFVY to Vacuo. Bye.
CHAPTER EIGHTEEN AND EPILOGUE
Heremst we go.
Coco’s alive! I mean, no surprise. And full of the Joques as ever:
Coco figured sacrificing your life for a teammate was one way to be remembered as a good leader, but maybe that was just cheating.
RIP Coco and her claustrophobia! Hey, now that was good foreshadowing! That gets a whole Murphy Cookie of Approval. 🍪
Coco loses her Scroll and her hat, but Velvet swoops in to save the day! Meanwhile, Bert has been convinced that Carmine double-crossed him, so they’re battling it out! Basically, Gus cast frenzy. Finally, it works in everyone’s favour.
“I can’t believe I thought you were cute,” Coco spat.
Some lines in this book haven’t been very good. This one, on the other hand, very much is.
So Carmine goes underground and starts creating sinkholes everywhere like a weird desert gremlin, and Edward manages to block her Semblance and like. Carmine flat-out nearly suffocates herself to death. Another death I would have found both gruesome and hilarious for its irony. But Velvet uses Flynt’s trumpet to quite literally doot the sand away, and-- I’m so sorry, this line has me literally laughing to myself. She fuckin’-- doots the sand. Oh my god.
Anyway they win, catch up with Slate and the Nomad Fam, and meet team SSSN! The boys are back in town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Things are looking good.
Epilogue time. I’m still laughing about the sand-dooting.
So, we don’t know who paid Bert and Carmine, I guess? I do believe there’s maybe a sequel or something in the works, apparently, so maybe this is part of an overarching plot type thingie. Still.
Ah, yep, Coco confirms that they’re not through with this line of investigation yet, But, Velvet wraps it up with a heart-felt, if not a little bit cheesy, segment about home being wherever CFVY is, and so the book comes to a close.
WRAP-UP
So, I’m definitely gonna have a second read-through of this without having to constantly stop and do a liveblog, but the book was... okay, I guess? I feel like this plotline wasn’t the greatest one for CFVY, and that the author doesn’t have a crazy good handle on the characters -- he’s likely more suited to original content, which is valid. It’s a good romp and we do get new lore, but as expected, I feel like CFVY would be best used in the show that conceived them in the first place. A book is nice, but I’d love to see their return in RWBY itself, especially since this book wasn’t really... long enough, I don’t think? Seriously, y’all’ve met me. I do write hundreds of thousands of words in this world and I still haven’t written everything I wanna yet! I’d also like to see more Velvet as seen in RWBY Chibi, in which was she Cool and Good, and maybe less Yatsu alongside her directly. But! It’s a book! It’s decent! It’s CFVY! For most people, it’s Good Enough. And they’re valid too.

Volume 6 Episode 1 Thoughts (Part 1) aka This Is Ugly And Ya’ll Need Glasses
Yes, I am opening this post with salt. After Volume 5, I earned that much.
Rwby spoilers, spoilers, v6 spoilers, whatever other tags you’re blacklisting.
Right off the bat, we already have a problem: Remember that infamous scene in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender movie where several earthbenders do a complicated martial arts dance to slowly float a rock at some firebenders? I was vividly reminded of that when I watched Weiss slowly slide across a few glyphs on top of the train. I won’t blame you if you didn’t have the same reaction given most of us have blocked that movie from our memories.
Now there’s a unique idea: using Blake’s grappling weapon to yank on enemies to open weak areas up for punching by Yang. It only took them four years to think of a way they could partner up that wasn’t “throw Yang at it”.
Combined with the Slow Weiss, the opening also packs Ren’s submachine guns flashing their gunfire at significantly slower a rate than the sound effects imply he is firing. I want every one of you who called this animation “improved” hit over the head.
Oh god. Oh god. The red and white flying blob. THE RED AND WHITE FLYING BLOB. I HATE IT!!!
We don’t see where the Great Christmas Blob heads off too, since we then cut to a scene of Adam being given shit for folding like a napkin at Haven under Blake and abandoned their men.
Which, as I already pointed out multiple times, doesn’t make any sense since Adam’s committed far worse infractions with greater consequences and still maintained support.
But the more important part is, Adam lashes out and murders every single person in the room. Yeah, it’s offscreen, but at least there’s blood puddles, right?
No, not right. The camera pans across a completely still scene (seriously, we don’t even get jitter or shaky cam as Adam is murdering people offscreen, much less any masks or god forbid, blood flying into our view) until it settles on Adam seated on his throne, looking evil. It is abundantly clear that they just set up a still scene and recorded violent voice-overs here. This is ugly.
Qrow is writing a letter to Ironwood in his opening letter. I have to wonder if the crew have been reading my page, because I...I think that’s something akin to character development for him. Shock of shocks.
THE RED BLOB WHIZZING AROUND THE ROOM, GOD IT’S UGLY. STOP THIS.
“Well I’m sure you’re all excited, but I don’t think you appreciate all the trouble I went through to leave Atlus.” Yeah no fucking kidding Weiss. Say it again so Miles and Kerry can hear. And you got out there before the borders were locked. But I’m sure borders are nothing to the magic of plot.
I actually appreciate Ruby’s condolences towards her however, as Weiss’ entire schtick is isolation and the damage it causes.
Oh look, two sleazy guys for the characters to show up. I wonder if the CRWBY will ever get tired of throwing those at us.
“Mistral’s really scraping the bottom of the barrel.” Well yeah Qrow, it would make sense for them to be doing that, since apparently Tyrian and Hazel fucking murdered all the good ones. Did you forget about that?
“I do hope those weren’t Beacon graduates” Ozpin, with you at the helm, I’m almost certain they are. The only reason it’s “almost” is because we got introduced to Lionheart last volume.
Ilia actually looks pretty bitchin’ in her new outfit. Blake, conversely, still looks like she walked out of an anime protagonist’s dumpster.
Yeah, that was totally fuckin’ gaybaiting. I can’t even try to reason that it’s not. The whole tiptoe-lean-then-cut-to-hug? That’s. That’s deliberately misleading. How is that not gaybaiting.
Oh look it’s Sun.
Holy fucking shit it’s. Uhhh. What was your name again? ...Neptune? I swear I’ve heard of you.
“Need I remind you we have our own trip to plan?” This, too, is news to me.
I’m not actually mad at the “barking up the wrong tree” joke.
Excuse me for one moment.
Tumblr media
MILES LUNA. KERRY SHAWCROSS. YOU ASININE MOTHERFUCK--
Okay. Okay. Retain sanity. Let me just. Let me just play that scene back so I can tear it apart bite by bite.
“So, you’re really going to Vacuo.” “That’s right. Seeing you with the rest of Team RWBY made me realize something. I am like, the worst team leader ever.”
YOU FUCKING WROTE HIM THAT WAY. NO, I’M NOT TAKING THAT AS “SUN”, I’M TAKING IT AS MKG. YOU IDIOTS WROTE HIM THAT WAY BECAUSE YOU ONLY CARED ABOUT HIM BEING AROUND FOR BLAKE’S BENEFIT, AND MADE EVERY POSSIBLE EFFORT TO IGNORE HIS TEAM’S EXISTENCE. I WAS QUITE SURE THIS VOLUME WOULD PASS WITHOUT YOU EVEN MENTIONING THEM, AGAIN! HOW DARE YOU TRY AND PLAY THIS OFF AS SUN JUST BEING A BAD LEADER.
“Me and the boys were cool with a little hiatus,”
IT WAS THREE FUCKING YEARS. IT WASN’T EVEN A HIATUS, A HIATUS IMPLIES YOU WERE ACTUALLY DOING THINGS BEFORE YOU VANISHED.
“but we gotta make up for lost time.”
IMAGINE THAT. IT’S NOT LIKE OTHER PEOPLE FROM OTHER FUCKING CONTINENTS WENT AND DEFENDED YOUR HOME TOWN AND SCHOOL LAST VOLUME. YOU CAN’T MAKE UP FOR IT! THERE IS NO FUCKING MAKING UP FOR THAT, MILES. SHUT UP.
As a final note, no. They are not leaving to go to Shade for the reasons I outlined (as in, there’s a goddamn relic there they could be getting to finding and safeguarding). No, they’re going just because. Of fucking course.
I’ll continue this in a part two because holy shit, I’m not even 10 minutes in and this episode wants me to die.

RWBY GF Scenarios
She Confesses and First Kiss
Ruby
You can totally do this. You got this!       Ruby thought. Her hands fidgeting nervously around the hem of her sleeves. “Ruby calm down, we’ve seen the way she looks at you.” Yang encouraged. “Yes, she seems to feel the same way.” Weiss added, pushing the smaller girl forwards. Ruby feeling a bit more hopeful, glanced at Blake. “Remember June and Lillian.” The faunus smirked, and Ruby couldn’t help but sigh dreamily at the couple in the book. She wanted everything to go perfectly, like in the book. Finally, the rest of team RWBY left with mutters of good luck as Ruby stepped inside her own room.
As soon as she closed the door you glanced at her from the desk. “Finally came back huh? How was class?” You turned back to the computer, continuing to write as you waited for a response. Ruby stepped carefully and shyly towards you.
“We didn’t have class.” Ruby replied. You confusedly turned back towards her and then eyed the room. “Is that why no one else came?” Ruby stammered a nod before sitting on the bed. You, now a bit more concerned, stood up and sat next to Ruby. “Is everything okay?” You asked, your hand finding hers before giving it a squeeze. Ruby gazed you in the eyes, trying to find comfort that you would feel the same way.
She gave a tempting smile and you returned, but still, you could feel her shivering. “Ruby… Are you cold?” She shook her head, then scooted herself closer and hugged your arm. “Promise that you won’t hate me?” She asked, making you cringe a bit. “Did you do something bad?” “No no. Nothing like that.” You eyed her, rubbing circles with your thumb on the back of her hand.
“I promise that I will never hate you Ruby.” You softly replied. She met your eyes again and you swear you saw hearts in her eyes. She suddenly hugged you tighter, as if she was scared for something. And then, with a small leap, she kissed you. Her lips pecking your own quite quickly as she gazed at you with a blush so deep it put her cape to shame. She smiled nevertheless.
“R-Ruby… I- what-“ You were confused, but mentally screaming. Your cheeks felt warmer and you were sure you were blushing like crazy. “I like you (Y/n).” A silence. “Like-like you.” She added, a childish grin on her face. Still, she shivered. Ruby was terrified, her eyes were shaking, her hold on you was stronger and stronger.
“I… I like you too Ruby.” The words came so naturally, they might’ve been there all this time, waiting to pounce immediately. Ruby sighed so loudly that it startled you, she might’ve been holding that breath for quite a while. “Oh my god! I was so scared you might hate me and never talk to me again. I’m so glad you feel the same way!” Ruby almost jumped in her seat, her hold on you relaxing in inches.
You found her so cute, so adorable. You were also really glad you both got the same feelings across.
Weiss
“You idiotic brat!” A slap and a push, it was all it took to put Weiss at the brink of tears. She couldn’t do anything like always. She was sick of her cruel father, she just wanted to be with (Y/n) again. “How many times do I have to tell you to not disgrace this family! If you mention being a huntress any more, I will lock you in your room.” She wanted to cry so much. “Father please-” “Go to your room!” Weiss didn’t need him to tell her twice, she ran as fast her heels could manage, closing the door quickly and throwing herself to her bed. She cried, she cried like she couldn’t bear it.
She needed someone so badly. She had told her father for the fifth time that she wanted to study to become a huntress. Like her sister, she wanted to use her semblance to help people. She wanted to help the name of her family, not bring it down, why can’t her father see that?
“Pssst! Miss Schnee.” Klein was at the door, opening it slightly and peeking inside. Weiss stopped her crying abruptly and sat up to look at him. He gave her a smile before opening the door fully. Weiss’s breath got stuck in her throat. (Y/n) entered the room, a nervous but worried smile making its way across her lips. Klein gave both of them a reassuring smile before leaving them with the door shut.
“Hey Weiss…” She greeted, and Weiss couldn’t help herself. She quickly left the bed and ran to hug the girl. She didn’t care that they were never this touchy before, Weiss needed comfort, she needed (Y/n). The other girl understood that, and embraced the girl, she just wanted Weiss to be happy and her bitchy self. “I’m sorry (Y/n). You came here at a bad time and I just needed…” “A hug?” Weiss hesitated, but she pulled back and wanted to tear up again. How would she tell this girl that she loved her? (Y/n) would find it disgusting, she bet. “I-I needed…” She couldn’t finish her sentence, she just wanted to kiss her so bad. (Y/n) could see Weiss’s eyes gazing at her lips hungrily. And (Y/n) smiled affectionately.
She wiped a tear from Weiss’s cheek, resting her warm hand on the girl’s cold but bruised skin. “Me?” She asked, and Weiss let out a whimper. Yes, Weiss needed her, she needed her to stay with her, she needed her to herself.
(Y/n) was the first to lean her head, to gaze at her eyes with the same passion Weiss did. Weiss tilted forwards as well, her eyes flickering from (Y/n)’s eyes to her lips. And the touch of both lips, igniting a passion that was waiting to be lit. It felt like fire and ice had clashed, the warmth of one’s lips while her hand pulled the cold one’s face closer.
“I need you (Y/n).” Weiss breathed through the kiss. “I need you to stay with me.” And (Y/n) smiled against the heiress’s lips, nodding shortly before taking her lips again. “I love you (Y/n).” Weiss muttered, grasping the girl’s waist closer. “I love you too Weiss.” She sighed.
Blake
Blake only had bad experiences with love. She fell in love with Adam and at first it was fine, but then he changed and became abusive, Blake’s love was snuffed out. Then Ilia was amazing, Blake had fallen head over heels for her, but Ilia cared more for the White Fang than her. When Blake left the White Fang, Ilia spat at her feet, betrayed her, told Adam about her plan… And then there was (Y/n).
Not a bad experience because it still didn’t happen. But it still could, yet Blake couldn’t image hating the shy girl, or any sort of vile action. Then again, she didn’t for Adam or Ilia either. But they were from the White Fang, (Y/n) wasn’t. She was just a human who liked books as much as Blake did.
“Just go and tell her. No biggie.” Blake muttered to herself. Her arms folding awkwardly in front of her. She stepped inside the library, and for the short distance that the hall was, Blake reminisced the first time they met.
It was right at that table. She had a plan and everything, such a dork.       Blake thought, smiling at the memory. And at the end of the hall, in a hidden sofa around the bookshelves, sat (Y/n). So comfortably and normal, that Blake forgot how nervous she was.
“Hey (Y/n).” Blake greeted, a tinge of redness covering her cheeks. The girl, in surprise, looked directly at Blake, smiling nervously before sitting upright. “H-Hey.” “So, this is where you usually hang out?” Blake asked, sitting right next to the girl, anxiously close. Blake gazed around the small area, there was no doubt that almost no one came around. There was only on small gap, which was where Blake had come from, but either way, this area was at the farthest place in the library.
“Yup. It’s very… quiet.” (Y/n) replied, putting her book down as she turned to Blake. The act of proximity made Blake twitch. She almost forgot what she had come here to do. “(Y/n).” “Y-Yes Blake?” “Do you… like anyone?” (Y/n) almost choked on her own breath. She fidgeted in her seat, staring at Blake for a few flabbergasted seconds before avoiding her eyes at all. Blake couldn’t help but smile at her antics. “I-I guess… I mean, it’s not like it matters. B-But- why are you asking me this?” Blake’s ears twitched again.
“Who is it?” Blake asked, far more hurried than she intended. What if (Y/n) liked someone else? Blake’s feelings wouldn’t be returned. “Oh, just a girl. She’s very quiet and mysterious, but pretty and kind at the same time.” (Y/n)’s mood had certainly lifted. She was more comfortable, like the girl she was thinking about had threw her insecurities right out of the window.
“Oh.” Blake smiled sadly, and (Y/n) didn’t pretend she didn’t see. “Who do you like?” She tried, an affectionate smile, a contagious one. Blake shifted closer to the girl. “She’s shy. Very nervous too, but adorable no matter what she does.” (Y/n)’s face grew red. “D-Do I know her?” “Do I know yours?” They both grew silent, staring at each other for eternity. Blake reached to cup the girl’s face, in hopes that it would establish something. (Y/n) leaned on her touch accidently, but nothing made her want to pull back. And so, Blake didn’t either.
“C-Can I ask you something?” Blake nodded at the girl. “Do you… like me?” (Y/n) asked and Blake trembled a bit, the Faunus’s hand caressing the girl’s cheek. “Yeah-“ Before Blake could even finish replying, (Y/n) leaned so fast, you could barely see it. She had kissed her, almost too quickly. The girl had jumped to the opportunity and Blake couldn’t complain. Blake just pulled the girl closer, she had wanted this for so long. Their lips danced with each other before pulling away, and both their eyes made contact, the spark that was always there, made itself brighter and stronger.
“I like you too.”
Yang
Yang has always been forwards, rather blunt even. But that didn’t mean she wasn’t nervous as hell about this. The girl she liked, had a crush on, – dare she say – loves, is standing a few feet from her. (Y/n) was never a complex girl, Yang understood that, but Yang has always had a bad timing. In class! What the fuck is wrong with me?! Yang mentally cursed. The other girl was lazily looking at the board, undoubtedly not paying attention as Professor Port retold his tales.
But (Y/n) was a second-year, after this class Yang wouldn’t see her until tomorrow. And Yang had no idea how she would sleep with this much stress and tension inside her. It had to be now, today.
Pyrrha sat beside her, the redhead was closely paying attention and taking the few notes she cared for. And Yang couldn’t hide how much she needed assistance. “Yang? Are you okay?” Pyrrha whispered. Yang shook her head rather viciously. Ruby perked from the seat behind her.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling sick?” The older sister shook her head again, scared that if she used her voice, she would certainly shout. Ruby and Pyrrha exchanged looks, concerned ones, and Yang didn’t fail to see Jaune and Blake peer at her from the front seats.
Yang was always an impatient girl, so while Port talked about his adventures Yang quickly tore a paper from Pyrrha’s notebook. The red-head a bit insulted, muttered a ‘hey’, but not before seeing what Yang was scribbling rapidly. Ruby peeked, leaning her body forward as the teacher failed to recognize any of this.
“What? Now?” Ruby asked, whispering surprise. Blake and Jaune from the front blinked in worry, and Pyrrha pointed discreetly at the girl beside the duo. (Y/n) was still almost dozing off. Blake was the first to put the pieces together when Ruby did a heart shaped movement with her hands, and soon Jaune had understood what it was when he saw Yang’s genuine and familiar anxiety.
“In class?” Yang could hear Jaune whisper to Blake, and the faunus simply shrugged indifferent. Pyrrha had a sudden idea. She tore another piece of paper and wrote rather quickly, but still it was legible. Yang peeked at the gladiator girl and almost let out a shriek.
But Ruby was too fast, she took the paper, folded it messily and with a big throw, it landed on Jaune’s head. Yang was about to scold the younger one but let out a silent cry when Jaune tried throwing it at (Y/n).
It landed instead on Weiss. The girl sitting right next to the real target. Jaune winced in attempt but was glad when Weiss opened the paper and glanced at Yang over her shoulder. Blake scolded Jaune silently, inquiring why he hadn’t seen it first. And Yang was mentally dying.
But it only got worse. Weiss, with an all-knowing smirk, leaned towards the girl beside her and whispered words that Yang couldn’t hear. But she registered the twitch (Y/n)’s head did, and the sudden vigour. Yang pressed her palms into her eyes, as if punishing herself for ever trying to confess her feelings now. Why couldn’t she just wait?
“Professor Port. May I go to the bathroom?” (Y/n) had her hand up, and the professor gently stopped his story to record what she said. The squad that tried helping, staring intensely anxious at the action. “Of course you can!” Port laughed. And the girl was already standing up. Yang was scared to face her, mortified at the rejection.
But as (Y/n) turned to look at her, she could see her eyeing her curiously, an excited smile dancing in her lips. (Y/n) was trotting through the stairs to the door, but once she passed through Yang’s row, the girl pulled her quickly and pecked her lips, tossing the same paper to her table before continuing on her way to the bathroom.
Everyone looked in confusion at Yang, and the blonde simply blew into a glow of yellow air and red face. Pyrrha unfolded the paper and saw ‘I like you too.’ In (Y/n)’s handwriting. “And that’s what you call subtlety!” Professor Port laughed loudly.
Nora
Nora, you got this! You goooot this. You so got this…       Nora couldn’t cope with this. (Y/n) was cooking. It sort of reminded her of Ren, but different. No, actually (Y/n) was nothing like Ren. The girl was humming a tune, her body moving according to the pan she held, the apron she wore tightly wrapped around her waist. Ren would silently stand frigid while cooking, thinking mentally instead of feeling. (Y/n) felt through instinct.
Her team had left to eat at the canteen, but Nora couldn’t deny when (Y/n) suggested to cook something for her. The small kitchen was something Ozpin had provided for team JNPR, given the passion Ren had for cooking. No wonder (Y/n) liked cooking as well, they were childhood friends, best friends even. Ren had told Nora countless times that back at the village (Y/n) was the one that cooked for Ren when his mother was busy, that’s why Ren liked cooking so much.
But (Y/n) disappeared when the attack happened, she was a very protected child, her family was rich so (Y/n) wasn’t allowed outside. Ren had thought she had died. And when they entered Beacon, (Y/n) was there.
“Nora. Food is almost ready.” Nora could hear the smile in her voice. Something she wasn’t used to yet, you could hear (Y/n)’s facial expressions, even when she wasn’t looking at you. Nora stood up from the couch, she dreaded that something would go wrong, but at the same time, she wanted something to go wrong, so she had an excuse to back down.
She dragged herself closer to the taller girl, and with a brave breath she nestled her arms around the girl’s waist, taking in her scent. She smelled like forest and cooking batter, a weird combination. (Y/n) had tensed up, Nora could feel it. But she was stubborn, she didn’t want to pull away.
“Nora… what are-“ “(Y/n)… I really like you.” “Nora, where is this coming from?” “I’ve liked you for quite a while.” The other girl grew silent, she had rested the pan away from the stove and had turned off the stove before Nora had attempted anything. “Nora…” The girl’s voice was soft, and Nora could hear a smile. The ginger only wanted to hide, curl in a hole. Her face was pressed frightenedly into the curve of (Y/n)’s back.
The taller one turned, facing Nora rather gently. Her hands finding Nora’s face and pulling her closer. Nora was shocked. Or better yet, confused. “(Y/n)… do you like me the same way I do?” Nora tempted childishly, finally looking up at (Y/n)’s face. The girl’s eyes twinkled, smiling in adoration at the smaller girl, and Nora couldn’t hide the sudden intake of breath.
“Of course I do silly.” She laughed, pulling the girl closer and kissing her softly, smiling as their lips met. Nora hesitated to kiss back, more to surprise than denial of this reality. And as the pancakes cooled down, the two girls recognized each other’s longings.
Pyrrha
“Pyrrha! Just do it girl!” Nora encouraged. Jaune confidently sat beside Ren, the two boys looking at the door in hopes, one more anxious than the other. “But I’m not ready! I’ll scare her away.” The redhead mumbled, pacing around the room. Ren rolled his eyes, but couldn’t hide a smile. “You won’t. She likes you too.” He muttered, peeking at Jaune as the boy nodded ecstatically. Pyrrha hesitatingly shook her head.
She had thought about it. Maybe everything would go well, maybe (Y/n) liked her the same way she liked the girl. Or maybe she would run away and never talk to her again. That was also a possibility.
“Pyrrha, whether you’re ready or not, she’s coming here. And you have to say something.” Jaune added to her worries and Pyrrha swore she almost started to hyperventilate. Nora let out a small gasp from her seat, hugging the pillow closer she glanced apprehensively at the door. And everyone’s eyes followed.
(Y/n) stood at the door, more nervous than any time the redhead had seen. Maybe it was because her team was here, (Y/n) didn’t like people that much. “(Y/n)! H-Hello, please come in.” Pyrrha requested, approaching the girl and leading her inside. (Y/n) seemed mortified as soon as Pyrrha had pushed her to the centre of the room.
And for a few seconds they all exchanged looks. “(Y/n), I’m sorry I had to call you here but there’s something I need to tell you.” Pyrrha began, earning approving nods from her team. The smaller girl glanced at Pyrrha with fear in her eyes, and something rather sinister snapped inside Pyrrha. She turned away. “I can’t do this.” The gladiator left the room in a worry, and her teammates – as well as (Y/n) – were too shocked and worried to do something.
“(Y/n). She really cares about you.” Nora said, and the girl glanced her way, still unfamiliar with Pyrrha’s team. Then she looked at Jaune, who gave her a nod. “Go after her.” And (Y/n) didn’t need to be told twice, she ran as fast as she could.
Hallways, empty and dull. (Y/n) was secretly glad that it was so late, students would be in their dorms, and she didn’t have to deal with crowds. But she was focused on finding the tall champion.
Turn after turn, she encountered teachers who asked to go to her dorm, but the girl waved them aside and continued her search. Finally, she went to the roof, something she was fearing to not go to. Because if Pyrrha was here, there could only be a few explanations, and most of them (Y/n) hated.
The redhead was there, sitting uncomfortably in the ground, and it didn’t take a genius to notice the jolts of crying and the whimpers that escaped. “Pyrrha…” The girl muttered, one of her favourite words. Pyrrha, hearing the girl’s soft voice, lifted her head. Though (Y/n) preferred she hadn’t, the sight of Pyrrha defeated was heart-breaking. (Y/n) simply kneeled in front of her and wiped her tears away. “I’m sorry.” Pyrrha muttered, chuckling sadly at the end. “I’m a mess.”
(Y/n) caressed the girl’s cheeks, like Pyrrha had once done before, and Pyrrha couldn’t fail to hide the satisfaction in her face.  “Why are you crying?” Pyrrha glanced at the floor. She was an honest woman, she always had been. “I like you (Y/n).” Pyrrha could feel the girl’s hands twitch and stop stroking, Pyrrha hated it. Hated that she might have scared the girl. “But it’s fine. I don’t need you to like me, I just couldn’t stay with you anymore while I carried these feelings. I’m sorry if I scared you, I completely understand if you don’t want to stay with me anymo-“ Pyrrha was so suddenly taken back when (Y/n) had smashed their lips together, so shyly but so full of passion. Pyrrha was scared that the girl might’ve been terrified of her, that’s what made her cry, but now… She realized she was being a fool, how could she not consider the other outcomes. She could feel the love that seeped through every embrace of their lips. And Pyrrha pulled her closer, the other girl cradling the redhead’s face.
They pulled away and (Y/n) laughed embarrassedly. “I like you too Pyrrha.”
Coco
“On live TV?!” Velvet shrieked. The beret-wearing female gave her a mischievous grin and nodded proudly. Maybe she hadn’t thought of this properly, maybe she had rushed everything. The makeup artists attacking her face with powder and lipstick told her that she had other things to worry about. Her team, agreed more promptly. Though Coco was sure they didn’t disagree to confess her feelings to (Y/n), just that they were anxious about the way she was going to do it. On an interview.
Coco wasn’t famous per say, she was well known in Vale… and a bit in Vacuo.  But besides that, she wasn’t very special. Only her good looks, her charisma and her skills with her gun made her appear on the public eye as a celebrity. Which she regarded as bullshit.
“Coco. Think this properly…” Velvet tried. Fox stepped closer and rested a hand on his faunus teammate’s shoulder, shaking his head in a way of saying ‘she won’t change her mind.’, which Velvet knew pretty well. “Don’t worry bunny, I totally got this.” Coco confidently assured.
Yatsuhashi finally entered the room, his arms crossed and his expression serious. “(Y/n) is in the audience. I checked.” He then glanced at Coco whom smirked assuredly, and frowned only slightly. “Coco are you sure about this? If she feels pressured on live TV she… might turn you away.” He warned. “Yatsuhashi… I’m sure about this.” Coco’s smile was wiped off her face as she furrowed her brows, now with a stern expression.
The three teammates glanced at each other before sighing worriedly. “Coco Adel. The shooting is going to start in 5 minutes.” A crew member spoke, loudly and clearly pointing at the stage.
Coco glanced away and just for a second, she let out a shaky breath. “Wish me luck.” She pointed out to her friends as she stood from her chair. “Good luck Coco.” Fox replied, sending a weak smile to the leader. The girl nodded determinedly before walking on stage.
The man, sat on the other side of the stage, smiled encouragingly at her. Coco returned the smile, a bit more anxiously before sitting in the chair offered to her.
“I take it you’re nervous…” The man spoke quietly. Coco gazed at the audience, most of them weren’t paying attention since they weren’t shooting yet, but there was a familiar girl who sent her a small wave. And Coco couldn’t help it but gulp nervously. “Yes.” She replied, her eyes still on the girl.
“Is it your first time on live television?” Once again, Coco nodded. “Don’t fret about it kid, it happens to the best of us.” He chortled, and Coco clenched her hands as soon as the crew gathered around. “We’ll be live in 3-“ “Look sharp kid.” The man crossed his legs politely. “2-“ Coco saw (Y/n) jump in excitement. “1-“ She heard Velvet intake a big gulp of breath. “And we’re live!”
“Welcome everyone, I’m your everyday host Fimmy Jallon, and this is the Everyday Show!” The host presented. A loud cheer from the audience made Coco realize how real this was. “Today we have a very special guest from Beacon Academy. She’s a young girl, renowned throughout Vale as the leader of team CFVY, please welcome… Coco Adel!” Fimmy threw an open arm in her direction and as if a button had been pressed Coco’s confidence lifted only slightly. She waved and smiled.
“So, Coco you’ve recently finished a mission in the outskirts of town, am I right?” He asked, turning fully to the girl and sending her a soft nod. “Ah yes! Yes, we cleaned the area of infesting Grimms… Now the place is just like any other town.” Coco replied. Fimmy nodded happily as the crowd whooped at the good news. “And might I ask… how can you have such good teamwork and still not tell each other some secrets.” The host asked. And Coco took a while to stand confused.
“Excuse me?” The crowd then laughed in good-humour. Fimmy gave her a wink and turned to the audience. “Yatsuhashi… is your teammate, am I correct?” Coco hesitated to nod, peering at said boy backstage. The swordsman smirked at her roguishly and the girl jolted. “He told me something before we started shooting.” This time Finny spoke while glancing discretely at a certain girl. The girl was as confused as Coco, though everyone in the crowd seemed to know what was going on.
“Is (Y/n) (L/n) in the audience?” The man stood up, peeking between guests. (Y/n) slowly stood up, her hand lifting curiously up to her chest. Both Coco and (Y/n) exchanged looks, though Coco’s was more of an anxious one. “Could you come down here please?” The host fit his hands in his suit-pants’ pockets before sitting back down. As (Y/n) slowly went down the stairs, the audience cheered and shouted words of encouragement. The staff pulled another chair for the now timid girl.
“Please have a seat.” Fimmy spoke assuredly, tossing another of his grins to Coco. Her team seemed to be apprehensive but excited at the same time. The other girl hesitantly sat down at the presented chair… right next to Coco. “Nice to meet you.” The host shook the girl’s hand gently before facing the cameras.
“This is a very important moment to us here in the Everyday Show… as we constantly fight to express equality to everyone, this month we’re working on Pride.” At this, (Y/n) flinched. And the crowd applauded again. “Coco…” Fimmy turned maliciously towards the leader. “Do you have something to say to our young guest (Y/n)?” He asked, and all eyes were on Coco. The girl’s eyes shook, hands and lips trembling, but once she turned towards her die-hard fan her heart thumped and suddenly all her muscles relaxed. “(Y/n)… there’s something I need to tell you.” She started. And her team held their breaths. “For quite a while… since you first bumped into me…” The host literally had hearts in his eyes. “And we practiced with our guns… our common passion.” The audience couldn’t stand still, giddy with excitement. “I…” (Y/n)’s face scarlet, hands fidgeting around her lap as she gazed hopefully into Coco’s eyes.
“I love you.” Coco quickly squinted, hands cringing into fear as everything turned silent… even the universe. She peeked… and fully opened her eyes as soon as the other huntress-in-training stood up. She followed the girl’s figure until she stood in front of her, smile wide and red face.
The host did an intake of breath and her team jumped in delight. (Y/n) leaned down and crashed her lips into the leader. The crowd went wild with enthusiasm. “Oh my heaven!” Fimmy beamed at the camera. And as soon as the girl’s parted, both red in the face, the smaller girl grinned and touched Coco slightly on the arm. “I love you too.” She replied quietly.
No other interview went more viral than this one, as people jumped in joy and her team crowded around them for a group hug.
(Bonus: “Holy shit! This ain’t happening!” Yang screamed as she couldn’t even finish her burrito. Team RWBY crowded around the small television before gasping in unison. “She isn’t-“ “I can’t believe it.” “Yes! I knew it!” And in the other room RWBY could hear JNPR freaking out louder.)
Velvet
Velvet was always sure that her friends knew more about her than she knew herself. And this was one of those times… “Velvet, darling. Everyone already knows… except her. You got to tell her today.” Coco yawned tiredly. It was night, the time where most teams were asleep. Though, team RWBY, JNPR, CFVY and SSSN – who they were going to meet later –, were actually going to help out (Y/n). Today was the day of her hearing, or interrogation as you would call it. After the events that happened, the local police were very concerned.
It wasn’t a big deal, but Velvet insisted that (Y/n) would appreciate the help.
“I don’t know…” Velvet timidly shook her head. Fox approached the duo before sighing. “Not all of us are going to come. Yatsu and Coco have to go to sleep since they have an important mission tomorrow.” Fox pointed out. Velvet nodded thoughtfully, since Coco had told her this already, but she was thinking more about the rest of the teams. Who was going to come? It was late after all…
“Thanks for coming with me Fox.” Velvet smiled at the blind teammate. “I’m (Y/n)’s friend too.” He replied. “Okay you two, time to go. The meeting is going to be soon, you don’t want to be late.” Yatsuhashi spoke, already in his pyjamas as he glanced at Coco. The leader nodded and threw herself into her bed. Yatsuhashi joining the girl in the same bed.
Velvet had yet to get used to her team’s relationship.  “Don’t take too long sweet-cheeks.” Coco winked at Fox and the boy smirked joyously. Their very amorous and more-than-two relationship.
Fox lead Velvet out as team RWBY and team JNPR were chatting up a storm. Or to be more precise, Yang and Blake, and Pyrrha and Jaune. “I just hope the police understand what happened.” Blake replied to something Jaune had said.
As the bunny-faunus and her blind teammate approached, both couples turned towards them. “What about the rest?” Velvet asked curiously with a tinge of worry. “Ruby and Weiss aren’t here today, they flew to Atlas a few minutes ago.” Yang explained. “Nora and Ren are too exhausted to move due to their cooking/fighting training.” Pyrrha embarrassedly replied. “Yeah, that wasn’t good.” Jaune added.
“Well… we should start heading for the police station. SSSN said they’ll meet us there.” Fox suggested, and as soon as they headed out, the broken moon lit up the streets.
The conversation between each duo turned from humorous to serious. Soon they were discussing about (Y/n)’s future, mental state and even worse… her background.
“I never heard her mention anything from where she came from.” Yang implied, her strong arm around her partner. Blake gave a ‘hmm’ before nodding to Velvet. “She didn’t, did she?” Blake asked, and Velvet, as they walked, shook her head sadly. She thought that maybe (Y/n) didn’t trust her enough to tell her this stuff, or maybe she just didn’t trust anyone…
“Don’t worry Velvet. I’m sure she’ll tell you one day.” Pyrrha assured the girl, which in return gave her a weak smile. More than anything, she was just terrified of what will become of the alcoholic girl. And if she this was really the time to confess.
“Oh my god!” Jaune screamed. “Get a room!” Yang laughed as Blake groaned. Once Velvet looked up again, she saw a flustered Sun and Neptune, discretely on an alley, probably making out before anyone had pointed out. “Wow! H-Hey everyone.” Sun scratched his cheek before leading Neptune to the group.
“We kinda got side tracked…” Neptune replied, blushing furiously. Velvet giggled quietly. “We noticed.” Fox muttered. And once again, they were on track. With Sun’s and Neptune’s company, the walk there was happier. The police station was only a few feet away, but Velvet could already see (Y/n) waiting patiently outside, a cigarette in her lips.
“Yo! (Y/n)!” Sun shouted, as Blake quieted him down due to how late it was. The girl looked up quickly and took the fag out of her mouth, flicking it to the side before walking towards them. “Hey guys. Thanks for coming.” She replied, her voice low and cold. Velvet couldn’t help but feel worried.
Fox was the first to catch up with the girl and the situation. And as so, (Y/n) explained what was going on. “So, you’ve done this before?” Jaune asked. “Yes, but… alone.” She nodded, eyeing the floor with more interest. The group exchanged worried glances as Velvet sent a soft smile towards the other girl. Who smiled back with a hinted sadness.
“Should we go then?” Velvet suggested as all of them agreed. As they walked inside, the warmth of the small station made Velvet feel strangely welcomed. “Hey kid…. You know you need to stop being a regular here.” The police guard joked, his partner sat on the desk with a notepad.
Almost everyone in the group took a hesitated step back as (Y/n) rolled her eyes. “Yeah… guess I like it here. It’s warmer.” She replied. Velvet saw the small tinge of worried look that the officer tried to hide, but she was more focused on the way that the other officer was scribbling madly.
“You know how this goes… The usual.” The one at the desk murmured, his voice raspy and uncomfortable. “No partner. This time she has friends to help her out, this will be faster than before.” The one standing up approached the group and sent them all a smile, which was returned only by a few.
“So… what did you do this time?” He asked and Velvet dreaded a bit. (Y/n) could have killed a person before and this would be normal again, or this could be her first and she would probably suffer a way worse punishment than she ever did before… Velvet didn’t know which was worse. “I… I killed someone.” At that, both guards’ gazes fell on the smoker. And by the look of everyone in the group, everyone was terrified of what would happen. “(Y/n)… You know last time-“ “I know what happened last time.” (Y/n) rudely interrupted the officer, who was far more worried than angry.
“If you need to talk to us…” The other officer trailed off, eyeing the girl as a father would. “I’m fine.” The girl once again rudely replied. “S-She was just trying to protect me. They were bad people.” Velvet desperately tried, and both the officers and the taller girl glanced her way. “Did they hurt you?” The officer who had first approached them asked. Velvet nodded slowly as she could feel Blake’s and Sun’s figure straightening slightly. The only other faunus in the group.
“What’s your name sweetheart?” The one who started writing down on the notepad asked, his eyes downcast and serious. “Velvet… Scarlatina.” He once again scribbled something down. “Could you two come with me?” He asked, standing up as he glanced from Velvet to (Y/n).
Both followed as the group was left behind with the other officer. The three entered a small room, with no windows and only a table with two chairs. The officer went back slightly, and brought another chair into the mix. When he closed the door, both girls sat down. Though Velvet saw how uncomfortable (Y/n) was, in a way, it felt like the girl had done this before and didn’t like it very much. Velvet wasn’t any better either.
“So, can you describe to me how did they hurt you Velvet?” The officer sat down, sympathetically looking over to the faunus girl. And as the events were retold, the officer took notes. (Y/n) replied with as few words as she could, lowering in her seat as she glared at the officer. Velvet on the other hand, was worriedly trying to remember everything, sending concerned glances at the girl and nervously sweating once the spotlight was on her again.
As time passed, Velvet yawned tiredly and the girl beside her sat upright, glimpsing at Velvet more attentively. The officer suggested going to grab a few cups of coffee, and with a nod from (Y/n), he was gone, door closed. This was Velvet’s chance.
“(Y/n).” Velvet called, but the girl was already looking over at her. The faunus blushed awkwardly at the attention as the taller smiled gently. “Tired huh?” Velvet nodded. “…Sorry to drag into this.” (Y/n) apologized, her gaze falling back to the greyish table. “N-No! You didn’t! I was the one who dragged into this, if you didn’t help me, none of this would’ve happened.” Velvet jumped, brandishing her hands around as if pushing away the excuses. “If I didn’t help you they would’ve hurt you.” (Y/n) replied, eyes turning back to the girl’s face.
“I would have done it all over again if it meant you were okay.” She continued. Velvet admired the girl’s face, scanning over every line, her bangs, her glaring eyes, her scarred lips… “I really like you (Y/n).” Velvet muttered, and the other girl’s eyebrows lifted in surprise. “You like me?” She asked. And Velvet almost choked on her own breathing, realizing she had just said it all of a sudden. “Oh no, it was just the spur of the moment! I’m so sorry, It’s not like that, I mean… I do like you, and not the like way… But the like-like way. But it will never happen because you wouldn’t like someone like me-“ It was all it took. All it took for Velvet to shut up with her stuttering and adorable mess. A kiss, a small gentle meeting of lips. (Y/n) was quick to push way, considerate to Velvet’s feelings about it. But once they both locked eyes again, Velvet speechless, (Y/n) chuckled.
“Of course I like-like you.” She replied, and Velvet could feel her heart do a backflip.
Penny
Penny was excited. She was never really a shy girl, rather bold even… but maybe that was her curiosity talking. But sometimes she wanted to be more human, and do more human stuff. That’s why she saw a ton of romance movies last night, she wanted to understand what this feeling was, and now that (Y/n) was spending the day with her, Penny couldn’t be happier.
“Yeah, now you just go up and there’s the secret room.” Penny instructed, pointing out to the screen as the soldier girl focused on the game. She did that adorable thing that some humans do, putting their tongue out when they were focused. Penny found it irresistible. “Ooooh! I can’t believe I missed that.” (Y/n) muttered impressed. She then glanced at Penny and smiled, turning back to the game while both sat crossed leg on the carpeted floor.
“(Y/n). Can I ask you something?” “Yeah sure Penny, what is it?” The girl still absorbed by the videogame. “Have you ever been in love?” (Y/n) jolted before stopping the game abruptly. “W-What?” “I asked if you have ever been in love.” Penny’s head tilted curiously. She was genuinely curious. “I-I think so… I mean, there is someone I like.” Penny’s eyes widened a bit. And before she could ask any more questions, the soldier quirked an eyebrow. “Why are you asking me this Penny? Are you in love?” Penny thoughtfully gazed into (Y/n)’s eyes, whose cheeks were turning redder by the minute. “I believe so.” Penny replied truthfully, hands grasping her own skirt. Was she nervous after all?
“Who?... If you don’t mind me asking.” (Y/n) bashfully gazed at the floor, hands fidgeting uncertainly. Penny couldn’t think as properly as she had before, maybe it was the sudden change of mood, maybe it was the urge to grab (Y/n)’s hands and kiss her… maybe it was the way Penny had nudged closer. “S-Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked… It’s your personal life.” (Y/n) mumbled, eyes peeking at Penny. The robot girl knew it was now or never, she had gotten this far, no way to back down.
“I’m only a soldier anyways…” “I’m in love with you (Y/n).” “Yeah, good for them… they must be lucky.” “No (Y/n). It’s you.” “Ugh, I’m really so-“ The soldier stopped, eyes darting back to find Penny’s. “Wait. Me?” Penny nodded, a wide smile in her face. They both stared at each other for a bit, comfortably close as their knees touched. Game forgotten, (Y/n) rubbed her own arm. “Can I kiss you?” She asked, and Penny laughed cutely before leaping to take the girl’s lips.
Both connected by mouth, Penny grasping the girl’s face as (Y/n) wrapped two arms around Penny’s waist. “Who do you love?” Penny broke the kiss quickly, eyes searching for something in the soldier girl’s expression. (Y/n) pulled Penny into another kiss before giggling between flutters of lips. “You, silly.”
Cinder
Cinder was trying. For someone who hates practical work, Cinder was running around like a maniac, stressing over so quickly. Emerald and Mercury knew when not to ask, and this was one of those times, so they left Cinder to panic by herself. The woman was frantically trying to corner (Y/n). The pre-teacher who was trying her best to avoid her.
Cinder had to talk to her, had to tell her the truth, she couldn’t even fucking sleep due to the guilt. And after a few tries, Cinder was sure she looked like a mess. The weird glances she got from students meant she was right.
Cinder carefully stepped inside a bathroom, making sure no one was inside. Thankfully this was the bathroom at the end of the rumoured haunted hallway, so she was sure no one was going to interrupt her small little meltdown. “I can’t believe I’m doing this.” Cinder complained to herself, her voice echoing around the room. She carefully washed her face and retouched her make-up, fixing her uniform so she looked presentable.
A sudden open of the door startled Cinder, though she failed to admit it. Glancing up at the door, she almost gasped. (Y/n) stared at her in a mixture of anger and horror, ready to bolt outside and run. But Cinder reached her first, grasping her back as soon at the girl had turned. Pathetically, she buried her face into the girl’s warm body.
“Cinder. Let go of me.” (Y/n) was clutching the frame of the door, trying her best not to violently push Cinder off. The ex-criminal shook her head slowly, failing to even look up.
“Look. I just want you to listen to me.” She tried, and surprisingly Cinder could feel (Y/n) relax slightly. Cinder pulled back as the girl faced her, closing the door behind her. (Y/n) vulgarly avoided Cinder’s eyes.
“I know Roman. I was a criminal once, I’ve killed a lot of people.” Cinder confessed, though she was sure (Y/n) knew that. And as so the girl glowered at her, angered that she had the nerve to even mention that to her. “But I was forced to it.” (Y/n) scoffed rudely. “Yeah right.” She crossed her arms. “Do you have any idea what it feels like to be threaten to lose everything? To suffer something worse than death?!” Cinder quickly lost her temper, and another familiar glare from the other woman made her realize that.
“I just wanted to live. I didn’t want to kill anyone, but then I got used to it, and I thought that maybe this is what I was born to do. So, I just… pretended to enjoy it so at least I would enjoy my life.” Cinder fumbled with her next words, something she never thought would ever happen. “I met Emerald, then Mercury. I might not show it much but I do care about them. I didn’t want them to live what I did. So I ran, I ran away from the witch-“ “…Salem…” “I needed to find a way to live a normal life again, so I went back to work with Roman, doing the only thing I knew how to. After gaining some money to support the kids and me I managed to get into this school.” (Y/n) was now watching her, gaze softer and arms relaxed.
“You need to understand… I just wanted them to have a normal life. They suffered enough.” Cinder spoke, voice cracking slightly. (Y/n) silently approached the woman. “Why are you telling me all of this?” Her voice was low, and Cinder couldn’t meet her eyes. “Because I fucking like you!” Cinder failed to control the tone of her voice, sounding angry. The other tensed a bit, but still… she didn’t take a step back. “Geez… wasn’t I obvious enough?” Cinder clenched her hands, and (Y/n) stepped closer.
“I thought… you were just playing with me.” “Ah yes, because running around like a lunatic means I’m just ‘playing around’.” Cinder sarcastically replied, glancing up and seeing the half-smile the woman sent, along with a roll of eyes.
“Stop being so dramatic…” (Y/n) leaned so carefully that Cinder thought it was mistake. That was until their lips met and (Y/n) pulled her closer. It was almost like fire with fire, Cinder couldn’t help herself but fight for supremacy. (Y/n) wouldn’t quit too, how stubborn both were, that it quickly turned into an intense make out session.
“You know, I prefer when you’re feisty.” Cinder mumbled between the intimacy. (Y/n) snickered before dragging a finger along Cinder’s back. “I like you too.”
Emerald
Emerald was smart, or at least she liked to think of herself as such. And (Y/n) was… not so smart. It was at these moments where Mercury stifled laughter and Emerald died of embarrassment, that she realized how dense (Y/n) actually was.
“You know… You’re not that bad. There’s plenty of other fishes in the sea.” Emerald encouraged the depressed girl. (Y/n) shook her head sadly before whimpering, pulling her knees closer to her chest. Mercury grinned at Emerald as soon as they locked eyes, but with a quick glare Mercury scowled at the smaller girl, sat in the corner of the room.
“Look. If they left you that means they’re a fucking asshole and they’re the ones losing.” Mercury brushed (Y/n)’s hair with a soft hand, the girl pouted but looked up at both of her friends, dry tears at the corner of her eyes.
“But why? I thought I was doing good…” Emerald frowned, hating to see (Y/n) like this. She took a deep breath and glanced at Mercury. They both exchanged a look before Mercury finally got it, nodding smugly and smiling at the sobbing girl. “I’m going to get some ice cream for you, just wait here.” He stood up and left, sending a subtle wink towards Emerald. One (Y/n) saw. There they go again… I wish I had a relationship like theirs. And she snivelled once again, in a mix of jealousy and sadness.
Emerald rolled her eyes at Mercury’s antics before coming closer towards the broken-hearted girl. “You’re amazing, you know that right?” She muttered, resting a hand on the girl’s knee. (Y/n) softened her look, gazing at Emerald with a soft smile. “Thanks Em… Mercury is so lucky.” She replied. Emerald furrowed an eyebrow at this. “What do you mean?” She wished it wasn’t because (Y/n) was actually interest in Mercury, but it would make a lot of sense now that she thought about it.
“You’re so kind and gentle, and he’s lucky to have such an amazing girlfriend like you.” (Y/n) threw her eyes somewhere else, noticing how her cheeks flushed sheepishly. Emerald was still processing what she said and when she finally put the pieces together, she cringed from head to toe, red from the compliments and a bit green from disgust. “WHAT?! No- Me and Mercury are not- Oh god ew!” Emerald leaned on the smaller girl so she wouldn’t fall from laughter. “Jesus… (Y/n), me and Mercury are not a thing. He’s just a friend.” (Y/n) shocked and embarrassed glanced at the green-haired girl, her mouth in a shape of a surprised ‘O’. “B-But I thought with all that flirting-“ “That wasn’t flirting, he’s just teasing me, he loves irritating me.” “But the winks and the glances…?” “(Y/n). We’re not. He’s like a brother to me. Besides, I have my eyes on someone else.” Emerald flirted, winking at the smaller girl. And once again, (Y/n)’s eyes widened, cheeks flushed as she hid her face into her hands. “I’m so sorry Emerald. God, I’m so stupid…” She apologized. “But… who are you interested in then?” (Y/n) peeked, her face still scarlet. Emerald groaned annoyed and rolled her eyes, she impatiently grabbed (Y/n)’s hands and pushed them away from her face. It was too quick for anyone to be able to react, all (Y/n) could do was squeal like a little girl… that was before she was muted by a pair of lips. Emerald’s kiss was rough, full of desire, like she had waited to long for it to be fair. (Y/n) really didn’t know what to do, she was in a state of shock. The taller girl pulled away, sighing before glaring at (Y/n) playfully.
“Yes, you are an idiot sometimes… How can you not see when someone’s flirting with you?!” Emerald asked, still annoyed by all of this. Though she couldn’t hide the tug on her lips, making her smile quite a bit. Her lips were way softer than I expected. (Y/n) broke, she was still gazing at Emerald, but her mouth was still agape with the flavour of Emerald’s lips. She was as red as a tomato, and in a state of shock. “I-I-I-I-“ She was a stammering mess. “C-can we do that again…?” Emerald grinned haughtily before leaning in, this time softer.
Neopolitan
Okay… One thing Neo enjoyed was horror movies, she absolutely loved those gory messes and generic jump-scares. One thing Neo did not like was a screaming Roman clinging onto you for dear life. Well, to be honest you weren’t any better, denying that you were scared was cute, but Neo was starting to get jealous of you hiding your face into Roman’s embrace.
Today was Friday, Friday the 13   th      to be exact. Where people celebrate some sort of Halloween-eve since it was so nearby, and Neo was all for it. So, the three of you grabbed a huddle of blankets and set it around the couch, compromising into a horror movie to watch. Neo had to admit, IT wasn’t that scary.
“Holy shit! I’m never going to look at a clown the same way ever again!” Roman shrieked, pulling you closer towards him as he wide-eyed gazed at the TV. Neo clicked her tongue mutely, this was getting ridiculous… She wanted to be the one that you hugged when you stubbornly denied the fear. “It’s not real. This is all really stupid.” Your voice broke mid-sentence, peeking ever so slightly at the TV before burying your face into Roman’s chest.
Another jump-scare came on as both of you squealed. Neo rolled her eyes before standing up. “Neo where you going? Don’t leave us alone!” Roman called, but Neo waved him off. “I’m just going to get a cup of water.” She replied. She could hear both of you screech once again as a loud sound from the TV echoed around the dark room. Damn it, why does Roman have to be such a cry-baby…
“Neo. Are you okay?” You asked. The kitchen was lighter in contrast with the dark living room, as she saw Roman shiver and hide his face in the arm of the sofa. She glanced at you, following her inside the kitchen while you pulled a large blanket closer to you. Neo smiled, recognized how cute you could be before opening the fridge for the water bottle.
She nodded as she grabbed a glass and poured the icy water inside. “Are you enjoying the movie?” You asked, cuddling with the blanket. Neo felt an urge to hug you but decided not to as she closed the fridge and drank the water. She leaned on the counter and gazed at you. “Yeah. It’s pretty good.” She replied. You gave her a soft chuckle that Neo almost melted upon and walked closer to her.
“Roman probably broke one or two of my ribs.” Neo laughed and took another gulp avoiding your eyes as soon as she remembered the way you both were embracing. “Though I figured you were one to not get scared by silly movies like these.” You muttered, pulling the blanket a bit down. Neo had a sudden chill, it was cold today. And due to a misbehaving heater, the house was quite cold. That’s why you all agreed to a bunch of blankets. She rubbed her arms and set the water down. Not to mention she had such a summery pyjama and was drinking ice cold water.
You noticed this, and with a hidden grin you approached the girl. “Cold, are we?” You asked, and before Neo could reply, you attacked her with a big hug as you wrapped her in your blanket. Neo couldn’t think for a second but decided to do what a normal person would and wrapped her smaller arms around your torso.
A sudden spark between you two, both of you could feel as you jolted ever so slightly and Neo’s shivers became more violent for other reasons. “Hey… how close are you and Roman?” Neo asked, gazing at the old-painted wall of the kitchen. Neo could feel your breath near her ear and she almost squealed in delight. “We’ve been friends since we were children. He’s like my younger brother…” You recounted and Neo felt relieved.
“But why are you asking? Are you feeling left out?” You continued, parting a bit so you could glance at Neo, whom avoided your gaze altogether. She did pull you closer though, hiding half of her face into your chest. Wow, she’s really small… how cute. “Do you like someone?” Neo asked, avoiding the question. You thought a bit about it and nodded indifferently. “Yeah.” You answered, teasingly brushing a bit of Neo’s hair away from the back of her neck, she shivered under your touch.
“Me too.” Neo blushed ever so slightly. You gazed more affectionately at her before leaning down a bit at her height, where she was forced to meet your eye. “Well, the person I like is being very jealous and shy. And I find it really cute.” You smirked, and she quirked an eyebrow at you. Her fingers seem to draw a line on your sides, your eyes turning darker and more seductive. You leaned ever so close, eyes peeking at her lips as she did the same.
“The person I like keeps teasing me and doesn’t just do it.” Neo replied, almost impatiently tilting her head towards you. You smiled and traced a hand around her chin, finally leading her forwards as both of your lips met. So softly as both of you experienced parting away and joining back together, each time more passionately. Roman’s sobs were drowned by the mix of both of your giggles and interrupted moans.
(Bonus: “Hey guys! Bring me a glass of water as well!” “…” “G-Guys?”)
 Glynda
Ozpin had told her that she was changing, for the better or for the worse Glynda didn’t know. Ironwood hadn’t noticed, but when Oz had mentioned it Ironwood immediately agreed. Glynda wasn’t so happy about that, although it might’ve been just her stubbornness talking.
“Yeah. They’re right… Something about you has changed.” You added, resting a finger to your chin in thought. Glynda huffed and wrinkled her nose, crossing her arms in a non-amused way. You let out a small chuckle before returning to cleaning your weapon. “But what is it? No one has told me yet what is different about me.” She familiarly glared at the morning sun, like she does every morning. You simply shrugged, polishing the remains of the dust.
“I wouldn’t know,” You then glanced at her, stuffing the handkerchief into your pocket. “but if I did… I don’t think I would tell you.” She looked insulated for a minute before she recollected herself, pouting only slightly. “And why not?” You brushed your hands in the texture of your clothing, taking then a few steps towards the teacher. “Well, you seem happier. If I did know what was causing this and then I told you what it was… I think that would reduce the effect.” “That’s preposterous.” “That’s a hypothesis.” She glared at you with a tinge of annoyance before groaning and turning away from your burning gaze.
“But I do wonder.” You laughed, following her slowly as she swaggered around the couch and sat down. “You wonder too much.” She grumbled, swinging a leg over the other. You stood behind her, feeling like you really wanted to wrap her in a hug. “That’s my nature.” “If I’m being honest, you’re the one who has changed.” “Oh?” You replied amused. “You’re showing a lot of expressions lately.” She leaned her head back so she could glance at you. To her surprise, you were rather close, a smirk dancing on your lips as you gazed at her flustered face. “Only with you.” You replied.
She bit her bottom lip. “Such honour…” She teased, her temperature betraying her confidence as she heated up. Your smile widened as you got closer. “Yes, it is an honour I don’t grant many.” Glynda hesitated, she frowned slightly before pulling her head back, glancing at the TV in front. You wondered if you did something bad… Maybe flirting wasn’t the best option.
“Hey…” You called, but Glynda simply rubbed her arms closer and looked away. “Is something wrong?” “No.” You peeked at her but all she did was avoid your line of sight. “Look. I need to talk to you.” She started, her shoulders turning stiff. You worriedly gulped before walking around the sofa and seating beside her. Something must be wrong.
She finally met you eye and smiled weakly. “Glynda… you’re scaring me.” She remained silent for a while and only took an audible breath once you reached for her hands, squeezing them in reassurance that you were listening. “Do you know why I’ve so happy lately?” She asked, and you furrowed your eyebrows at her. “Didn’t we establish this already… I really don’t know.” “(Y/n).” She warned you, and for some reason you zipped your mouth shut. Maybe I’m just supposed to listen. “I’ve been so happy because I found someone.” She turned her gaze at the floor, lips and hands trembling. “I’ve found someone who I cherish more than my own life.” She continued. “I’ve found someone who I love with all my heart.” She locked eyes with you, and they seemed to be screaming desperately. “Glynda I-“ “I found you. You (Y/n)! I fell in love with you.” She stopped, and you stood there, hands still in hers and eyes wide. “I know this is stupid,” She shivered before pulling her hands away. “and you probably hate me after how I treated you.” You quickly snapped out of your shock and grasped her running hands, pulling them close to your lap.
And you both met eyes again, her breath itched as she fought some sort of bitter tears. You shook your head, soft eyes gazing at her own as you rubbed circles on the back of her hand. “Not stupid at all. In fact,” You leaned closer, and her form tensed again. “I’m glad you told me first. I was kind of scared of telling you first and then you would slap me.” You laughed. She chuckled brokenly and short before throwing her arms around you and pulling you into a kiss. You really couldn’t think after that, but Glynda laughed uncharacteristically as she pecked your lips over and over. You struggled to keep up with her enthusiasm but soon you laughed with her as you exchanged sloppy but happy kisses.
Winter
“James. She’s waking up!” Qrow called, his voice raspier than usual. Ironwood and his most trusted soldier Winter rushed inside the medical room. Ironwood quickly let out a sigh of relief as soon as your bright eyes opened. Winter did the same, but she kept her distance as she thought Ironwood should be the first to greet you, given how he was your father.
“Oh god, I’m so glad you’re alive.” Ironwood’s voice broke with fatigue and early grief. All three of them smiled as you took a deep breath after a big slumber. But even so, you winced once you felt your stomach hurt like it had been ripped open. “Careful there panther. You got really messed up and the stitches are still healing.” Qrow chuckled and you smiled at his tone. As soon as you glanced around at Winter you remembered what happened. “Oh…” You muttered, and Ironwood exchanged a look with Winter.
“I’m sorry guys.” “No no sweetie don’t apologize.” Your father pushed a messy strand of hair away from your face, affectionately caressing your cheek in the midst of it. “Yeah, it wasn’t your fault.” Qrow added. Winter thought of the pain you must have felt, the pain she herself felt as soon as the bullet lodged itself into your ribcage. She rubbed her arm in shame. I really couldn’t do anything.
“Everyone must think I’m a monster.” You met her eye and looked away. Winter frowned. “No one thinks you’re a monster.” Ironwood replied. Qrow glanced at the way Winter was behaving and nudged Ironwood. The general carefully analysed the scene, and sighed contently. “Look, me and Qrow are going to have a talk with the doctor.” He then glanced at Winter. “Winter, keep an eye on (Y/n).” “Yes sir.” She replied gloomily. And both left, leaving you alone with the Schnee.
Silence quickly overcame the room. She was the first to fixate on you. “I’m sorry.” She mumbled. You stared at her as she quickly turned away, continuously rubbing her arm. “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you.” You blinked at her before sitting upright, ignoring the pain in your stomach. “You can’t apologize,” She peeked at you before returning to peer at the same corner. “it’s my fault this happened. If I wasn’t so…” You trailed off and Winter swiftly snapped her head towards you, a look of guilt in her face. “It’s not-“ “Disgusting-“ “(Y/n), you’re not.” She bravely approached you, but you simply flinched. Her shoulders rose as she fought the urge to embrace you, she halted. “You’re amazing and beautiful.” You whimpered at her words and hugged yourself as you began sobbing. “I’m not Winter. I’m a creepy experiment.” “(Y/n)…” “I’m a monster that doesn’t deserve love.” You cried. “You are not-“ “I’M A GRIMM WINTER!” You roared, your eyes turning bright red before returning to their normal colour, tears dropping gently. Winter, with a hand levitating in mid-air, clenched her teeth. I want her to see how amazing she is, but I can’t seem to do anything again.
You sobbed, curling into a ball as the pain in your stomach was overpowered by the pain in your heart. Winter took a deep breath and gulped dryly. She approached you and sat near you, at the edge of the bed. “(Y/n), you’re not a Grimm. You’re a smart young girl capable of making anyone smile.” She reached for another strand of your hair and tucked it behind your ear. Your heart thumped as you peered at her. “Your father loves you so much. Qrow does too.” She gazed at you with so much affection that you thought you might be dreaming. Her fingers traced around your cheek, then your jaw. She finally stopped near your lips.
You swallowed. “I…” She tried, leaning in forwards. You breathed carefully before tilting your head towards her, you were sure you wanted this as much as her. “I love you so much it hurts.” She passionately gazed at your eyes, wavering as her finger pulled you more to her. And before you could reply, she lastly had the daring to crash her lips into yours, fervently kissing you as you returned the same emotion. “Winter… I’m sorry you had to fall in love with someone like me.” You spoke mid kiss. She pecked your lips again and smiled. “But I love you too.” You continued, kissing her again.
(Bonus: “Oh my god. They did it, they kissed.” Qrow yelled across the hallway. “I’m so proud of my baby girl!” James cheered. The doctor shook his head as he felt embarrassed at this two middle aged men’s outburst.)

That cool... but image this; Weiss was kidnap by... 4 grimms that were... a Rathalos-like grimm, a Tigrex-like grimm, a Gigginox-like grimm, a Shagaru Magala-like grimm that weld a Warhammer, all of them look giant humanoid-looking and Kai knew them because they knew his weakness. (basically... happen like Louis fight for Pill scene in Gmod Idiot Box 5, except with Ruby transforming into a grimm and manage to kill them all, Kai try to get the mask, but Ruby keep growling at him until he give up.
Haha, Oh This is going to go down a lot more differently then you think.
Weiss: I don’t believe these. *Weiss mutters as Gigox cocoon her again a wall.*
Gigox: What’s so hard to believe little girl? *The dragon like grim growled as the last of the cocooning drool leaves it’s mouth.*
Weiss: You four… Your talking.
Rath: Aya. We talk. For ir is one of the gifts we have learned over the thousands of years of killing you pest.
Weiss: Pest!? If I am such a pest then why did you kidnap me at all!? Why not just kill me?
Tigx: Because bait that squirms Brings in a bigger catch. *Tigx smirks at the tiny huntress before the four dragon Grimm landed with a before the others, shaking the ground as he stood above the others*
Shagaru: And we are after the biggest catch of them all. *He sneered taking his warhammer in hand.*
Weiss: *Weiss gulped in fear of the forth dragon grim and asked with a bead of sweat running down her face.* And Who is this… Uh, biggest catch.
Kai: That would be me. *Kai called out as walked in from the shadows, stopping yards away from Weiss and the Grimm. Watch three of the dragon grimm become more monstrous as the growl and hiss murderously at him.*
Gigox: BLUE SILVER EYED DEVIL!
Rath: GRIMM EATER!
Tig: BEAST OF RAGE!
Kai: Oldies but goldies.
Shagaru: Kai.*Shagaru muttered trying his hammer in both hands.*
Kai: Ah, Shagaru. At east one of you remembers my name. *Kai said, looking at the hammer with a frown.*
Rath: WE KNOW YOUR NAME BROTHER KILLER! *Rath roars as fire bursted from his monster.*
Tig: WE WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID, TRAITOR!
Kai: Traitor? Uh in case you have frgotten. I ain’t a grimm.
Gigox: But you’re not a human or faunus either silver eye!
Kai: … Well you got me there.
Weiss: Wait. Your not a human or a faunus? *Weiss questioned as all four Grimm and Kai look at her.*
Kai: Oh hey Weiss. Didn’t see you there. How’s it been?
Weiss: Well I found out there a grimm that can talk but besides that I’VE BEEN KIDNAPPED!
Tig: Oi, Shut it, girl! *Tig growled at Weiss smacking his tail above her.*
Kai: You’re one to talk Tiggy.
Tig: RRRRAAH! I’LL KILL YOU! *Tig shouted and dove forward only to be stopped by Shagaru swinging the hammer in front of him.*
Shagaru: ENOUGH! *The other Grim backed away as the elder grimm began to walk towards Kai, stopping where Kai would be in striking range of his hammer.* Did you bring what we asked?
Kai: And if I didn’t?
Shagaru: Then the girl dies. *Shagaru told him, pointing back to Weiss as the other grimm begin to show there fangs towards her.*
Weiss: Kaiii.
Kai: Okay.
Shagaru: ???
Rath/Gigox/Tig/Weiss: Huh?
Kai: … Go on. Kill her.
Weiss: WHAT!?
Rath/Gigox/Tig/: EH?
Shagaru: Do you think this is a joke?
Kai: No. I know you are being serious. I just don’t give a fuck. *Kai told them the grimm and he begins walking around to Shagaru’s left.*  I hehe I mean I killed her father and the only Schnee I ever liked was her grandfather, who is now resting up there in the sky. Right Weiss? *Kai stated as he looked at Weiss pointing up above her with three fingers, lowering each one with each flick of his wrist. Confused and angry, Weiss Glances up  and spotted what Kai was actually pointing at.* Beside, I’m not have to give you what was left of your brother that I turned into a mask. No. I’m here because you STOLEN that war hammer from a good friend of mine’s grave. *Kai stops and glared up as Shagaru, both of his forearms turning into blades and claws forming.*
Shagaru: ENOUGH! *Shagaru shouted as He quickly swung the warhammer, Sending him flying as he blocked  the strike.* This Hammer was forge by your people! *Shagara then charged forwards, moving faster then a bullet despite his size, drawing back his hammer to strike again as Kai crashes into the wall.* That means it can KILL!
Kai: *Kai only glares at Shagaru before jumping up avoiding the hammer’s blow which obliterated the entire wall. Then while since in the air, Kai’s claws turned glowing blue as the space around then became distorted and seemed to have Shagarus scales around  while at the same time on Shagaru’s back by his wing Kai’s glowing claws appeared. Shagaru quickly looked over his shoulder  just Kai throw a punch at the grimm, vanish twenty feet way and appear ripping off Shagaru’s wing within nanoseconds. After that Kai wasted no time Kicking the Grimm sending him flying through the newly formed cavern.* Your half right. Shagaru. Weapons my people form can fuck me up but that can’t kill me.
Tig: YOU BASTARD! *Tig roared, taking off into the air  before diving down at Kai with open jaws. However, Without turning, Kai merely swung his bladed arm back, never moving from where he stood and Tig crashed into the ground both infront and behind him as both halves of the grim began to mutate into Kai’s raging balded aura.*
Rath: TIG!
Gigox: He killed him with one strike… But he still has his seals on… How can he still be this powerful?
Ruby: Same reason why you two are next. *Both Grimm hear and looked up to find Ruby with glowing winged eyed desending towards them with her scythe glowing red with her aura and it’s blade in the form much like a Stygian Zinogre  like grimm.*
Rath: Brother?
Gigox: Oh fuck. *The grim muttered, their last words before Ruby spun swinging her scythe that cleaved through both Grimm’s necks with ease and freeing Weiss.*
Weiss: wow. *Weiss whispered as she looked up at her girlfriend in awe, standing up and saying again to Ruby as she rose to her feet as well after landing.* Ruby?
Ruby: *At first Ruby only stood there, making Weiss worried that something may be wrong until the glowing died and her scythe returned the normal with the grimm mask wielded to its head. Luckily for Weiss, her worries disappear like Ruby did in a cloud of petals before being lifted into the air with a bear hug from Ruby.* WEIIIIIIIIISs!
Kai: Ruby. Make out with your girlfriend after you get her out of here. *kai shouted as a pulse echoed through the cave a a red glow came from the darkness where Kai knocked Shagaru.* I still have a score to settle.
Shagaru: You have a score? You and the girl killed my brothers. *Shagaru growled, stepping out with a newly formed wing and burning red horns and spikes.* NONE OF YOU ARE LEAVING HERE ALIVE! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHR! *Shagaru roared so loud then a shock wave knocked both Ruby and Weiss, sending chills down their spines as they felt an aura coming from the grimm.*
Weiss: No way. That’s not impossible. How can a grimm have an aura?
Ruby: I don’t know. Kai did say that ancient Grimm could form a soul and aura if they lived long enough. But don’t worry. *ruby smiled as she and weiss Watch Kai removed his face patch over his left side eye revealing the white of his eyes black , glowing blue scar markings around the eye, and fangs instead of a cheek as the skin liked the same as his aura before a wave of his aura flowed out like a tsunami wave.* Kai is a is waaaay scarier when he starts fighting for real.
After the fight , maps had to be changed do to the fact that the mountain was completely destroy afterwards.
