Weekly Fitness and Weight Loss Update 📝
Clothes are fitting looser!
I maintained my weight this week. Considering that I just stepped on the scale while having a raging period, I take it as a win. I was ready even to see the scale going up!
Not much to say about that, rather that I’m sticking with Intermittent Fasting and keeping an eye on the carbs while introducing whole complex carbs here and there.
As for clothing, that’s where I see a difference! So I’m definitely losing inches and my clothes are fitting looser. I’m wearing some of my old clothes more comfortably and confidently again. A gentle reminder that it’s not all about the number on the scale!
Fitness-wise, I keep on seeing improvements. I have more endurance during my walks (especially walking uphill) and I can hold tree poses with my foot resting on my inner thigh again. I can also hold a plank without modifying. I still modify whatever is needed and I know that there are some exercises that will always be more challenging for me due to my back surgeries and other factors. Everyone is different and I try to do my own best without comparing myself to others, which is honestly easier said than done!
Off to my morning yoga and daily nature walk now 🪷🍃

I'd be lying if I said I don't see any bodily changes, like even if I didn't lose any actual kgs, I know I've lost fat and recomped somehow
...but omg I feel like shit
I feel fat and i feel as though I've made no progress I'm very very meticulous about my calorie counting but I almost feel like I need to restrict more
now yes, this sounds super disordered, but my maintenance is sitting at about 1600, 1800 if I'm active (which isn't always guaranteed so I'd rather not take chances)
so yeah, to lose weight I actually need to be in a normal deficit that just happens to sound scary to people that don't understand the fact that I'm 5'1
my current plan of action is to keep eating 1200 and just casually make some form of activity part of my lifestyle

It's with the idea that im writing for an audience who DOESNT actually know tf. cause. i dont really have an interest for writting for one that does [-> my biased assumption for what that audience would be like] [the ACTUAL EXISTENCE of EITHER said audience is. mostly secondary]
ITS done in a real sense of. i spend a lot of time here (the wiki), now let me ALSO indicate i have A LOT OF GREVIANCES.

Achieving Optimal Body Recomposition: Unveiling Its Benefits
In the realm of fitness and body transformation, the concept of body recomposition has gained considerable attention. Unlike the traditional approach of focusing solely on weight loss or muscle gain, body recomposition aims to strike a balance by simultaneously reducing body fat and building lean muscle mass. This holistic approach not only enhances physical appearance but also offers a myriad of benefits for overall health and well-being. In this post, we will delve into the world of body recomposition, exploring its benefits and why it may be an ideal strategy for those seeking optimal results.
Understanding Body Recomposition:
Body recomposition, often referred to as "recomp," entails altering body composition by decreasing body fat percentage while simultaneously increasing muscle mass. This is achieved through a combination of targeted resistance training, cardiovascular exercise, and appropriate nutrition. Recomp is different from traditional approaches, such as bulking and cutting cycles, which focus on separate phases of building muscle or losing fat. Instead, it aims to achieve a balanced physique with visible muscle definition and a healthy body fat range.
Benefits of Body Recomposition:
Improved Body Composition:
The primary advantage of body recomposition is achieving a well-balanced body composition. By reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass, individuals can attain a leaner, more defined physique. This not only enhances aesthetic appeal but also contributes to improved body image and self-confidence.
Enhanced Metabolic Function:
Body recomposition can have a positive impact on metabolic function. Building lean muscle mass contributes to an increase in basal metabolic rate (BMR), the number of calories your body burns at rest. As muscle tissue is metabolically active, having more muscle translates into a higher caloric expenditure throughout the day. This can aid in weight management and make it easier to maintain a healthy body weight in the long term.
Sustainable Weight Loss:
Traditional weight loss approaches often involve restrictive diets and excessive caloric deficits, which can lead to muscle loss and a sluggish metabolism. Body recomposition focuses on building muscle while shedding fat, which helps to preserve muscle mass during weight loss. By retaining muscle, individuals can sustain a healthy weight in the long run and prevent the dreaded weight regain often associated with crash diets.
Increased Strength and Functional Fitness:
Strength training is a fundamental component of body recomposition. As individuals engage in resistance exercises to build muscle, they simultaneously improve strength and overall physical performance. Increased strength not only enhances athletic performance but also aids in daily activities, making routine tasks easier and reducing the risk of injuries.
Health Benefits:
Body recomposition is not solely about physical appearance; it also carries significant health benefits. Maintaining a healthy body fat percentage reduces the risk of obesity-related health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. Additionally, increasing lean muscle mass contributes to improved bone density and joint health.
Long-Term Sustainability:
Unlike extreme dieting or unsustainable exercise regimes, body recomposition promotes a balanced and sustainable approach to fitness. By incorporating resistance training, cardiovascular exercise, and a well-rounded nutrition plan, individuals can adopt a lifestyle that supports long-term health and well-being. Body recomposition is not a quick fix but rather a journey that fosters healthy habits and sustainable results.
So, embrace the power of body recomposition and embark on a transformative journey towards a stronger, fitter, and more confident version of yourself. The benefits of body recomposition extend beyond physical appearance, encompassing improved metabolic function, sustainable weight loss, increased strength, and numerous health advantages. By adopting a balanced approach that combines resistance training, cardiovascular exercise, and proper nutrition, you can achieve optimal body recomposition while nurturing lifelong healthy habits. Remember, body recomposition is a journey, and consistency, patience, and dedication are key. So, take the leap, prioritize your well-being, and unlock the remarkable benefits of body recomposition that will positively impact your life in the long run. Your body is capable of incredible transformation, and through body recomposition, you can unlock its full potential. Get ready to sculpt your physique, enhance your health, and embrace the amazing benefits that await you on this empowering fitness journey.

I love exercise. I ate 2,100 calories yesterday, including a steak for dinner, and I still had a deficit that was bigger than I planned lol. (Not that that’s the purpose of exercise of course.) I wanna get back to focusing on body recomp so only a 300-400 calorie deficit would be good, and I had a deficit of over 500 yesterday. Since I don’t want to lose muscle, I don’t always want to have that much of a deficit, but just one day is fine and it’s just funny to see considering how full I felt. And I didn’t even do any cardio to burn those calories, I just lifted weights and then was running around all day haha.

sorry i know this is late but happy birthday!! how was hadestown? i fell in love with the damon daunno/nabiyah be recording, but the broadway version has its own appeal 👀
AH thank you so much! <3
And as for Hadestown, you're actually early! We bought tickets for September and I am super pumped! We'll be seeing the tour and I can't wait! Before COVID my grandma had season tickets for our theatre. In 2018 I got to see Waitress, Anastasia, Fiddler on the Roof, and then Hamilton. (all shows I LOVE.) Since then I haven't been that excited for the shows that have come in but when I saw Hadestown I was like GOTTA DO IT.
I love the broadway recording but I also love the Daunno/Nabiyah as well <3
