There were many things Rebecca thought she would never do. One of them was having sex with a man other than Peter. Another was having sex with the man whose title her son would inherit. Yet there she was, lying in the bed of Thomas Walsh, Duke of Feldsbury, on Christmas morning after a night of passion. She was 55. He was 76, old enough to be her father. He was only a year younger than Rose. In the aftermath, she felt nothing more than like a common harlot. Still, she couldn’t deny the pleasure she’d derived from it.
“Happy Christmas,” a voice said behind her, and she turned to see Thomas with his eyes open.
“Happy Christmas, Thomas,” she muttered.
Tumblr media
“Are you alright?”
Rebecca frowned. “You’re the first man I’ve laid with other than Peter. We were each other’s firsts. I thought we would be our last too.”
Thomas sat up. “Do you regret it?”
“No,” she muttered. “I only feel guilty that I enjoyed it.”
“Don’t. There is nothing wrong with enjoying yourself. You’re a good, kind woman who’s had an unusual life situation thrown at her. You’ve handled your son’s marriage better than I think most mothers would.”
“Byron likes to make statements. I am sure he’s done things I would have a heart attack if I knew of them. He’s stubborn. He would ruin the title merely out of spite, ignore the duties you’ve tried so hard to teach. Sometimes I feel ashamed of him because he has no shame. He doesn’t care. I first thought it was because of his time in America, but… I know he’s always been like that, since he went off to boarding school.”
“Much of his generation is like that. Disillusioned with the world, finding no point in keeping the intricate societal rituals we keep to heart. The war changed things. A part of it is a reaction. I have only seen a small part of the war, but it was enough. Your son has seen things too horrible to put into words. He can’t talk about it, so he finds ways to make himself forget. Truthfully, I pity him. He has been through much these last eight years.”
“You pity Byron? I know you don’t like him.”
“I don’t have to like him to pity him. He and I are in a situation where no one wins, and I can understand his anger. He reminds me of myself in my youth. Now I am just a cynical old man.”
Rebecca chuckled. “Age makes cynics of us all.
Thomas coughed. “If I asked you to marry me, would you say yes? We can keep it a secret, have a scandal of our own. Not even your children would know.”
The offer tempted Rebecca. She would never have to worry about money again. Thomas was kind to her, and he made her laugh. But he wasn’t Peter. “No,” she said after a minute. “I don’t think I can marry again.”
He nodded. “I understand.”

NEW PAINT-A-BOX STREET ART AT THE LAW SOCIETY OF IRELAND BLACKHALL PLACE [REF -226076-1]
I do not yet know who is responsible for the new street art at Blackhall Place that has replaced the artwork by Rebecca Walsh. The name “Blackhall Place” refers to both a street in Dublin, Ireland, and a historic building located on that street. In 1671, a charitable school for boys of poor families was established, called the Hospital and Free School of King Charles II, Dublin. It became known…

my fellow readers, with all that's been going on, I ask you to take a minute to research if the book you are reading or the author you are supporting has the basic human decency to not support genocide. Do not come with the "separate the art from the artist" bs because that only fails to acknowledge the nuances of boycotting and pressurizing establishments responsible for ethnic cleansing and apartheid while also completely disregarding the power of voices and every little action in this age of information, where every crisis is fueled by mainstream propaganda narratives. So please take a minute and choose who you want to support. I am sure there are enough books in this world that we can boycott some authors who support the genocide. Below is a small list of authors who support Zionism:
Sarah J. Mass
Rebecca Yarros
Jeffrey Archer
Rachel Lynn Solomon
Monica Murphy
Alice Oseman
Michelle Hodkin
Taylor Jenkins Reid
J K Rowling
Christina Lauren
Carrissa Broadbent
L J Shen
Chloe Walsh
Nicholas Sparks
Rebecca Searle
Sonali Dev
Sky Warren
Victoria Aveyard
Deke Moulton
Benji Zeb
Rena Rossner
Mitch Albom
Simon Sebag Montefiore
Amy Harmon
Yuval Noah Harari
I have tried to include all the zionist authors I know of. You are free to do your own research on them. However, I urge you to stop buying their books, following them on social media, reviewing their books, and adding the books to your Goodreads shelf if you have any. If you have already bought their books there is nothing you can do but do remove them from your Goodreads shelf. Boycott them and call them out for their sick views.

Just got back from Les Mis in Sunderland Empire, it was absolutely phenomenal can't recommend it enough. The cast were all excellent and the lighting/set was so inventive and clever. The deaths were more moving than I've ever seen them before. I don't think I've ever cried so much at a live performance. Shout out to the two (and then three) ensemble guys having gay sex in the background of Master of the House, you're my heroes. 10/10
Please ask me about it in the comments if you're a fan I really want to talk about it I literally don't think I'll ever recover

Hi Vy!:D if it’s not a bother can I request Connor Walsh with a fem s/o that has a guy best friend (also if you’ve watched the show You can the best friend have a personality similar to Joe Goldberg?<3)
Hi dear! Thank you so much for your request! I love that you included the detail about Joe Goldberg, not only cause it's such a good idea but because I love the show YOU. Enjoy the headcanons 💕
Pairing: Connor Walsh x Reader (Female) [How To Get Away With Murder]
Warnings: Implied Stalking, Threats, Swearing
Genre: Protectiveness (let's consider this a genre for now 😅)
Connor knew something was off about Tyler the moment you introduced them to one another
During their handshake, in fact
It didn't take a lot for Connor to immediately feel put-off by this guy, especially not when considered how he wasn't even trying to hide his odd behaviors
Behaviors you brushed off when they were brought up by your boyfriend
Stuff like how his smile was painfully forced, never reaching his cold eyes which were quite literally glaring through Connor instead of looking at him
The way he squeezed his hand a little too harshly and made the handshake a lot quicker than a regular one would last
How he'd only talk with you or about you or your guys' friendship, frequently openly ignoring Connor as if he hadn't heard him speak or would dismiss him and his opinion
He made no effort in getting to know him during the actual brunch, but then sent a follow request Connor's way which only served to confuse him further
He didn't like how touchy he was with you or the way he'd gawk at you when you weren't looking or the way his gaze sized you up as you got up to use the restroom
Hell, even with all of that in mind, Connor was willing to convince himself that it was all in his head and that he was simply overthinking it and being overly paranoid
But when Tyler had the audacity to drop some distastefully lewd comments about you in front of him the following few outings you'd forced him to go to, he knew it was far from unsupported suspicion
Man was seeing red regardless, but when he caught the asshole sitting in his car in the alley by your house, watching you through your bedroom window, he was ready to commit murder
And that's exactly what he told him after knocking on the windshield, startling him out of his daydreams about you
"What you doing there, bud?" He asked, leaning in through the rolled down driver's side window
Before he could reply, however, Connor had thrown open the door, dragging him out by the collar of his shirt, slamming him against the wall at the side of your house
"Listen here, you fucking pervert, I'll be getting away with another murder under my belt if I see you around Y/N ever again. Do you understand me?"
When Tyler didn't immediately nod, Connor made a point to reslam him against the wall, eliciting a pained groan from him
"Do you?!" He snarled and this time got a response
"Alright, alright! I won't go near her again, I swear. I promise."
With a complimentary punch or two, Connor considered his job was done
Not exactly, though, since he really wouldn't have minded calling up the remainder of the K5 to have Tyler's dead body taken care of

Wisconsin’s conservative-controlled Supreme Court ruled Friday that absentee ballot drop boxes may be placed only in election offices and that no one other than the voter can return a ballot in person, dealing a critical defeat to Democrats in the battleground state.
The court did not address the question of whether anyone other than the voter can return his or her own ballot by mail. Election officials and others had argued that drop boxes are a secure and convenient way for voters to return ballots.
The decision sets absentee ballot rules for the Aug. 9 primary and the fall election; Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson and Democratic Gov. Tony Evers are seeking reelection in key races.
The court’s 4-3 ruling also has critical implications in the 2024 presidential race, in which Wisconsin will again be among a handful of battleground states. President Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump in 2020 by just under 21,000 votes, four years after Trump narrowly won the state by a similar margin.
The popularity of absentee voting exploded during the pandemic in 2020, with more than 40% of all voters casting mail ballots, a record high. At least 500 drop boxes were set up in more than 430 communities for the election that year, including more than a dozen each in Madison and Milwaukee — the state’s two most heavily Democratic cities.
After Trump lost the state, he and Republicans alleged that drop boxes facilitated cheating, even though they offered no evidence. Democrats, elections officials and some Republicans argued the boxes are secure.
The conservative law firm Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty sued in 2021. The state Supreme Court in February barred the use of drop boxes outside election clerk offices in the April election for local offices, such as mayor, city council and school board seats. The court ruled Friday on the question of whether to allow secure ballot boxes in places such as libraries and grocery stores.
State law is silent on drop boxes. The court said the absence of a prohibition in state law does not mean that drop boxes are legal.
“Nothing in the statutory language detailing the procedures by which absentee ballots may be cast mentions drop boxes or anything like them,” Justice Rebecca Bradley wrote for the majority.
The court said absentee ballots can be returned only to the clerk’s office or a designated alternative site but that site cannot be an unstaffed drop box. The bipartisan Wisconsin Elections Commission had told local election officials the boxes can be placed at multiple locations and that ballots can be returned by people other than the voter, but put that on hold pending the Supreme Court’s ruling.
Rick Esenberg, president of the conservative law firm that brought the case, said the ruling “provides substantial clarity on the legal status of absentee ballot drop boxes and ballot harvesting.” He said it also makes clear that state law, not guidance from the Elections Commission, is the final word on how elections are run.
Concerns about the safety of drop boxes expressed by the majority “is downright dangerous to our democracy” Justice Ann Walsh Bradley wrote in dissent.
“But concerns about drop boxes alone don’t fuel the fires questioning election integrity,” she wrote. “Rather, the kindling is primarily provided by voter suppression efforts and the constant drumbeat of unsubstantiated rhetoric in opinions like this one, not actual voter fraud.”
Republicans who control the Wisconsin Legislature have also tried to enact laws limiting the use of absentee ballots, but Evers has vetoed them.
Republicans have made similar moves since Trump’s defeat to tighten access to ballots in other battleground states. The restrictions especially target voting methods that have been rising in popularity, erecting hurdles to mail balloting and early voting that saw explosive growth during the pandemic.
Bradley was joined in the majority by fellow conservative Justices Patience Roggensack, Brian Hagedorn and Chief Justice Annette Ziegler. In addition to Ann Walsh Bradley, Justices Rebecca Dallet and Jill Karofsky dissented.

First lookbook of the 1920s is Rebecca. While still in mourning for her late husband and daughter, Rebecca has moved on from black and returned to her pinks. While she hasn't completely joined the new fashion and styles, she has definitely adjusted her wardrobe for the new decade.

How To Get Away With Murder, Chapter 11
Word Count: 1.4k
Warnings:  murder of a minor character, planned murder, conspiracy, secret pregnancy
Tumblr media
"They are freaking out, mom," I whispered to her. "We need to do something. The kids are cracking."
"They were smart," she said in a hushed tone from her office, "They called me and brought her here. When Asher almost ruined it, they brought her to the basement.  They’re not cracking, Cheyanne.  They’re keeping it together."
"She needs to go away. Let Frank take care of her," I offered, "He ow-"
"No."
"Mom!"
"I SAID NO!" By this time the four kids who'd kidnapped Rebecca walked into the office.
"Is everything alright?" Wes asked, brow cocked at the tense air that surrounded me and mom.
"Everything is fine," she said in a loving tone, "We need to figure out what to do about Rebecca. Ideas, anyone?"
"I'm getting coffee," I angrily declared, “call me when you’ve figured it out!”
"Me too," Bonnie said, walking along with me.  We went to the kitchen and she nudged me when I started brewing a pot of coffee, "It has to be done.  She has to go."
"I know," I agreed. We went down the stairs, making sure not to cause any extra noise. When Rebecca saw us, she looked at us scared.  But Bonnie had a cup of coffee in her hands, as though she was there to help, “Rebecca…”
"Please," she cried, "You have to help me. They are going to kill me. I know you two are good people. You won't let them do that."
"We won't let them kill you," Bonnie said from in front of her. I went behind her and quietly cut a piece of duct tape. Before she knew what was happening I placed it over her mouth, “don’t worry about them, Rebecca.”
"They won't kill you," I sighed, pushing some hair from her face, "But we will. I'm sorry Rebecca. But you are going to make a mess of things if we don't take care of you, and quite frankly, I can’t let that happen.  Neither of us can."
Through teary eyes she watched us put the plastic bag over her head. Bonnie held it there and I watched to make sure she stopped breathing. After I saw the light go from her eyes, I let Bonnie know. She removed the bag and threw it in the pile of trash by my father's workbench.
"Go upstairs. I'll take the body beneath the stairs, and make it look like she escaped," I offered, "I'll be up in two minutes. Have a cup of coffee ready for me?"
"You got it," she said. I could see the sadness in her eyes as she took one last look at Rebecca. I quickly got to work and ripped the tape from her arms and legs, making it look like she had managed to get out. Then I dragged her over to the stairwell and pushed some of the old holiday totes and luggage in front of her. Finally, I went over to the door, and opened it, making it look as though she'd run through the door, headed for freedom.
After a quick once over I decided it looked right and went up the stairs. Bonnie was just finishing pouring my cup of coffee, "You good?"
"Yeah," I nodded. I walked out to the living room. The doors that normally separated the office from the living room were open and everyone was still debating on what to do, "The coffee is done. Anyone want some?"
Annalise and Laurel raised their hands and nodded. Bonnie passed me and sat down in the living room while Frank followed me back to the kitchen. I grabbed three coffee cups from the cupboard.
"Are we going to talk about what happened last month?"
"It depends.  Are you going to tell me you aren't fucking Laurel anymore?" I asked in a hushed tone.
"I'm not fucking Laurel," he hissed, pouring himself a cup of coffee. He filled the other two cups and I started to pour sugar and creamer in both, “Chey…I’m not lying to you.  We aren’t having sex with each other.”
"Is that her choice, or yours?"
"It's mine," he growled, "If you must know. Now will you talk to me?"
"No time, my other mom is on the way. She called me and told me she has a flight tomorrow."
"Eve is coming out?" I nodded, "Is she bringing Julie?"
"Yeah," I said quickly, "And she knows something else that you don't."
"And what's that?" he asked.
I picked up a coffee cup for my mother and Laurel and started past him. He blocked me so I put the cups down on the other side of him and pressed our lips together. He hungrily accepted my kiss and pulled my body to his own. That's when I pulled away and grabbed the two cups, only to turn back to him, "Last month at the courthouse. You weren't wearing a condom."
"Yeah, so?"
"Frank, I haven't been on the pill since I dumped you in October." I hissed. I saw his eyes widen and his jaw drop. I turned around and headed out to the living room. Laurel took her coffee first, and then my mother. Frank made his way into the living room looking dazed, "Hey mom? Can we break off for dinner, then come back later? I haven't eaten all day."
"Yeah," she whispered more to herself. Then she turned to everyone, "Cheyanne is right. Everyone go get dinner. Come back at eight o clock."
Bonnie began to call up Asher but to no avail, and I tapped her on the shoulder, "dinner buddies?"
She smiled and nodded, "Yes. I've really been craving that Indian place downtown."
"I've been craving Indian food all week," I smiled. Out of my peripherals I saw Frank's eyes snap up to meet my gaze, “we good to go now before the rush hits?”
"Hey I hav-" he began but I cut him off.
"Anyone want to come with us?"
Frank took a step back and my mother headed off into the kitchen. Bonnie and I started off to her car.
"Did you tell him?" she asked as she started her car up. I nodded.
"What did he say?"
I bit my lip, "I don't know. I walked out of the kitchen when I told him."
"CHEYANNE?" She all but yelled, "This is going to be hell tomorrow. You told Eve, and you know the first thing she is going to do is go after him.  Especially since she’s bringing your daughter to town too!"
"No," I said correcting her, "I made Eve promise me that she wouldn't talk about it. I haven't even told mom.  And anyways, Annalise will be side tracked.  I told her to bring out Julie for that exact reason.  She hasn’t seen her since before she started kindergarten…back when Frank and I were engaged still."
She started laughing, and so did I.
"You know," I laughed, "I never thought of this before, but it is so weird thinking about calling one of my moms by their names.”
"Yeah, I can't even begin to understand how weird that is," Bonnie laughed, “if I would have called my parents by their first names they would have killed me…”
“Thankfully, my parents are different…”
“yeah,” she agreed softly.  A swift silence took over us as we drove to the restaurant, “you know…you don’t have to keep it…he and Laurel are over.”
"I'm keeping the baby Bonnie," I sighed, "I don't want to get an abortion."
"Did you do it on purpose?" she asked, "To somehow beat Laurel at this game of Frank you have going on."
"Honestly," I began, "No. My plan that day was to drag him into that bathroom, kiss him once, and then sucker punch him. Then tell him he could finally go to hell, and that I was done with him. But before I knew it, we kept kissing, and removing clothing...Everything felt so right, Bonnie."
"We don't need to talk about it if you don't want to," she said, trying to steer away from the conversation.
"Shit, Bonnie, I'm sorry."
Then both of our cell phones buzzed. It was from Frank.
'Everyone back to the office now.'
"I wonder what it could be?" Bonnie asked.
"You think they found her?"
"Or her body?" she asked.
When we had arrived back to Annalise's house we saw Michaela and Conner heading to the basement door. Frank and Laurel were already there, with my mom.
"Who did it? Who let her go dammit?"
No one responded. Then she pulled all of us inside the basement, where Wes stood right in front of the chair.
"WHO LET HER ESCAPE?" Annalise boomed.

OK I keep seeing these "Sassy keeps finding Ted when he's sad, she's a bad person for wanting to fuck him when he's down in the dumps"
And truly, are all the people reblogging this under 20? Because there's this weird infantilization of Ted going on, like he's some high schooler getting seduced by the teacher's assistant or something.
Ted is a middle-aged man going through some tough times. He is not being preyed on, he is not being harmed. He, like pretty much every allosexual man on the planet, enjoys sex; he specifically enjoys sex with Sassy.
Sassy is not some conniving bitch who's exploiting or otherwise hurting Ted. She, like pretty much every allosexual woman on the planet, enjoys sex; she specifically enjoys sex with Ted.
Please for the love of fucking god knock it off with this "She should leave Ted alone!" Ted does not want Sassy to "leave him alone," as evidenced by Ted telling Sassy something that he possibly hasn't even told Rebecca yet. True, it's clear he doesn't want a romantic relationship with her, but that feeling is mutual, and they are still GOOD FRIENDS WHO LIKE AND TRUST EACH OTHER. There is nothing unhealthy or unethical about their relationship; just because they fuck doesn't mean they owe or expect anything more — or less — than friendship.
This show has been very careful to make its relatively few female characters into whole, interesting, and mostly good people (with the possible exception of Jane, who is clearly written as an excuse for Phoebe Walsh and Brendan Hunt to improv their scenes together and go hog wild). Disliking some of them is fine, everyone's got different tastes. But making up an entire sinister reason for Sassy to want to fuck Ted other than "he's cute, he's sweet and he's hung like a horse" is weird. (Aside from which, what... exactly is Sassy's nefarious plan, here? Having a satisfying orgasm or three?)
Plus, the puritanical thread through this is creepy as fuck. Casual sex is not unhealthy! One-night stands are a fine way to live your life! Fucking your friend is not inherently manipulative or wrong! Because I tell you what, if I had a friend like Sassy (or Ted!) who offered to fuck me when I was down in the dumps? I would buy them a little award that said "BEST PAL EVER" or something.
